Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now from the Star Rentals Sports Tests.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Your ninety three point three KJRFM Sports Headlines.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Day from the iHeart Studios in Nashville. Headlines were brought
- 0:11Speaker 1: to you by Frost brewed cors I Choose Chill. Very
- 0:14Speaker 1: bad three days for the Seahawks in Nashville starting on Friday,
- 0:17Speaker 1: but an incrementally good week overall, according to coach Mike McDonald.
- 0:21Speaker 1: First Friday joint practice Jake Bobo's season ending knee injury.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Blobi landed awkward to catching a pass on the sideline,
- 0:28Speaker 1: came down on his leg and now he's out for
- 0:29Speaker 1: the year. Mason Richmond major league major leg injury on
- 0:32Speaker 1: the first offensive series of the preseason last night at Tennessee,
- 0:37Speaker 1: backup offensive lineman maybe out a long time, if not
- 0:41Speaker 1: the season. And on the first defensive play Bud Clark
- 0:44Speaker 1: broke his right ankle last night, carted off about all
- 0:47Speaker 1: ninety one players, came off the sideline to console the
- 0:49Speaker 1: popular rookie motorized car. Took him out multiple months, is
- 0:54Speaker 1: what Mike McDonald said, but that could also be a
- 0:56Speaker 1: season ending injury. For the second round pick. None of
- 0:58Speaker 1: the starters played again, twenty two of them on each
- 1:01Speaker 1: offense and defense. Watch Drew Locke and the offense of
- 1:04Speaker 1: the second team Seahawks reserves take a sixteen to three
- 1:08Speaker 1: lead over the Titans starting offense and defense in the
- 1:10Speaker 1: first quarter. Tennessee had twenty one to twenty two starters
- 1:13Speaker 1: on offense and defense playing the first quarter. Second half,
- 1:16Speaker 1: though Jalen Millroe another bad performance, Titans rallied for the win.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Nineteen sixteen here in Nashville. Much much, much more to
- 1:21Speaker 1: talk about on that Mariner's got smashed by a bugs
- 1:24Speaker 1: Bunny score for the second time in five days, nineteen
- 1:26Speaker 1: to two loss to the Cubs. Something is way wrong
- 1:29Speaker 1: with Bryce Miller. It turns out he's injured. What is it?
- 1:32Speaker 1: What the Mariners playing injured players? Career high seven walks.
- 1:35Speaker 3: It's just sad because I love that guy so much.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's not like they don't have guys in the top
- 1:40Speaker 1: prospects in baseball down the minor leagues ready to go. Okay,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you're a up of months ago.
- 1:45Speaker 3: He had a good debut.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Until we left it in too long career. I seven walks,
- 1:50Speaker 1: only two hits, both home runs by allowed by Bruce Miller.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Bryce Miller for his six runs allowed, two more position
- 1:57Speaker 1: players pitched. That's four times in what two weeks the
- 1:59Speaker 1: Mariners in feuters and outfitters pitching games. It's just ridiculous. Matters.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Did Miller actually did something that hadn't happened in Major
- 2:07Speaker 1: League Baseball since eighteen ninety lose consecutive starts by at
- 2:11Speaker 1: least seventeen runs. Happened to George Van Haltron of the
- 2:14Speaker 1: eighteen ninety Brooklyn Wonders. We always remember the Brooklyn Wonders.
- 2:17Speaker 1: The MS did win the series with two walkoff wins
- 2:20Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday. Leos Revos with the walkoff hit Friday
- 2:22Speaker 1: against the Cubs. Randy Rose Arena had a leadoff and
- 2:25Speaker 1: walk off home runs Saturday. It was a day Dan
- 2:28Speaker 1: Wilson left, debuting rookie Kate Anderson. In too long, trash
- 2:31Speaker 1: Cans keep losing. Yay, it's just absurd. No team in
- 2:36Speaker 1: the Al West even has a five hundred record anymore.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Trash Cans in first play is a one game under,
- 2:41Speaker 1: so Seattle's still three games behind Houston for first place
- 2:44Speaker 1: in the division. The Ems are three games out of
- 2:47Speaker 1: the wildcar race thirty one games Remade trash Cans are
- 2:49Speaker 1: so bad they fired their general manager this morning, and
- 2:51Speaker 1: they're in first place. It's like comedies.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It's like this, Well, the Al West in general is
- 2:57Speaker 4: comedy show right now.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It's like satire marriage of back Home to Night. The
- 3:01Speaker 1: start a series against the Phillies. Great pitching matchup at
- 3:03Speaker 1: the Art and Soda Logan Gilbert and Zach Wheeler six
- 3:06Speaker 1: forty first pitch Sounders marathon losing streak eight games in
- 3:09Speaker 1: the MLS. The club record ended sorta Saturday draw at Cincinnati.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Has heard here on k JR. The storm got blown
- 3:16Speaker 1: out early and off and yesterday the Dallas Wings they
- 3:18Speaker 1: lost ninety two to seventy. They're now seven and thirty
- 3:20Speaker 1: one in the WNBA. Seahawk fans might want to know
- 3:24Speaker 1: that forty nine Ers owner Jed York has been was
- 3:27Speaker 1: arrested over the weekend on suspicion of prostitution soliciting prostitution
- 3:32Speaker 1: in East Palestine, Ohio, near his hometown of Youngstown. It's
- 3:36Speaker 1: I got forty five minutes where I grew up. W
- 3:38Speaker 1: KBN and Youngstown reported that he was charged. York was
- 3:41Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers owner charged down from suspicion of
- 3:45Speaker 1: engaging in prostitution down to misdemeanors of disorderly conduct and
- 3:48Speaker 1: possessing criminal tools. Funny how that happens to rich people.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Paid eleven hundred and fifty dollars in fines, one day
- 3:54Speaker 1: in jail on each count credit for time served. He's out.
- 3:59Speaker 3: What is with these guys?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Man apparently allegedly found him in a trailer park this morning.
- 4:07Speaker 1: The Cleveland Browns named Deshaun Watson their starting quarterback of
- 4:10Speaker 1: our Shredar Sanders and others to begin the season. This
- 4:13Speaker 1: was after Watson lashed out in a press conference at
- 4:15Speaker 1: Browns fans who boot him Saturday during a home preseason
- 4:18Speaker 1: came against the Buffalo Bills and gable that he's all.
- 4:23Speaker 1: His benefit of the doubt evaporated like many massages ago.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Clay Thompson Gokud signing a two year and thirteen million
- 4:30Speaker 1: dollars deal with the Miami Heat, leaving the Dallas Mavericks
- 4:33Speaker 1: opted out of his contract to do it. And in
- 4:36Speaker 1: college football, oh yes, college football, the Browns cut former
- 4:40Speaker 1: old mess titan Daikwon Wright from NFL training camp in
- 4:42Speaker 1: the preseason after the Browns game on Saturday. So you
- 4:45Speaker 1: know what Right's gonna do? Right, He's gonna go back
- 4:47Speaker 1: to college football.
- 4:48Speaker 4: He would agreement to sign with LS because it's ridiculous.
- 4:55Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. This is this is related to that Louisiana
- 4:59Speaker 1: judge with a temporary straining order allowing sixteen players, including
- 5:02Speaker 1: Anthony Hankerson, who's still on the Seahawks roster and actually
- 5:05Speaker 1: ran the ball last night. He's eligible to go back
- 5:07Speaker 1: to college according to this temporary restraining order. And now
- 5:10Speaker 1: day Kwon Wright. Of course, Lane Kiffin, the former old
- 5:14Speaker 1: Miss coach, his former college coach, is going to get
- 5:16Speaker 1: into the LSU as in right now, like tomorrow. Now,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm with the Monday show, Greg Bell. The news should
- 5:21Speaker 1: be still in Nashville. I feel like I moved here today.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Hopefully you searched in all the culture.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what, you can only do Broadway so
- 5:31Speaker 1: many nights in a row before you just have to
- 5:32Speaker 1: tap out. At my age, my wife and I did
- 5:34Speaker 1: it for like my wife and I, Wendy was here.
- 5:37Speaker 1: We did it for like what a little bit on
- 5:39Speaker 1: Wednesday night, just to go check it out. Then Thursday
- 5:41Speaker 1: and Friday went pretty hard. By Saturday, we had to
- 5:45Speaker 1: face ourselves by Saturday, and then she left yesterday game.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Last night we went to the Grand Jess when mcintyrebeck
- 5:51Speaker 1: in the studio is at Elliott Ben Seattle.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Good morning, ma'am not enjoying Broadway as I would like to,
- 5:56Speaker 4: But yeah, that's why I mean, it's it's very equivalent
- 5:59Speaker 4: to Vegas. I would say it sounds like Vegas, like
- 6:04Speaker 4: two nights, three days, that's it.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yes, that's so, Wendy says. She goes, I think two
- 6:09Speaker 1: nights might be the max that can handle here, and yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: uh yeah. Well we went to the Grand Old Opry
- 6:17Speaker 1: on Saturday. We got off of Broadway. The Grand Old
- 6:19Speaker 1: Opry is outside of Nashville, but ten miles away. We
- 6:22Speaker 1: saw Carrie Underwood there.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you're living when you see Carrie Underwood at the
- 6:28Speaker 1: Grand Old Opry. The history of that place. It looks
- 6:32Speaker 1: like a barn from the outside, as it should, but
- 6:35Speaker 1: it's out in a it's in a suburban mall. It's
- 6:38Speaker 1: across from a Davon Busters.
- 6:40Speaker 3: We were awesome. The best place to go.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It's so weird.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Do you think you were being kidnapped in like your
- 6:47Speaker 4: uber or whatever.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Hooper's taking me out to there's an olive Garden,
- 6:51Speaker 1: there's a Target, there's a Davon Busters, and then there's
- 6:54Speaker 1: the Grand Old Opry. I was like, this is really strange.
- 6:58Speaker 1: About ten miles outside of Nashvieville, and then you go
- 7:01Speaker 1: in there. In the history of that place, I mean,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder played at the Grand Old Opry, the only place.
- 7:07Speaker 1: The only way you can play in the Grand Old
- 7:09Speaker 1: Opry is either you become inducted as a member, which
- 7:11Speaker 1: is like Johnny Cash, I mean we're talking legends. Randy Travis,
- 7:16Speaker 1: who actually was on stage. He recently had a really
- 7:19Speaker 1: bad stroke and was unable to say anything but amen
- 7:22Speaker 1: at the end of one song. But Carrie Underwood recently
- 7:25Speaker 1: inducted into the Grand Old Opry. You either play by
- 7:27Speaker 1: being inducted or by being invited by an inductee. Stevie
- 7:32Speaker 1: Wonder played there, James Brown played at the Grand Old Opry,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but Carrie Underwood there. It was great. Aside from the there
- 7:40Speaker 1: were a lot of young women in there, and so
- 7:43Speaker 1: it was in the Grand Old Opry style. I don't
- 7:45Speaker 1: know if anybody on the West Coast is familiar. It's
- 7:47Speaker 1: a variety show kind of like Hehaw, but it's been
- 7:50Speaker 1: one of the longest running radio programs, and we're talking
- 7:53Speaker 1: one hundred years. They're celebrating the one hundredth year of
- 7:55Speaker 1: the Grand Old Opry and it's on an AM radio
- 7:58Speaker 1: state to this day, it's on six fifty AM in Nashville,
- 8:03Speaker 1: live streamed around the world. Every Saturday night for one
- 8:06Speaker 1: hundred years they have played Grand Old Opry performances and
- 8:10Speaker 1: a group of musicians. It's usually five or six acts
- 8:14Speaker 1: for an hour, hour and a half show. And that's
- 8:15Speaker 1: what Carrie Underwood played three or four songs and then
- 8:18Speaker 1: yielded to someone else. It was. It was cool. It
- 8:22Speaker 1: was a real slice of Americana, slice of Tennessee for
- 8:24Speaker 1: sure in country western music. But yeah, the setting was
- 8:29Speaker 1: an odd tableau, to say the least. The old original
- 8:32Speaker 1: Grand Old Opry is the Ryman Auditorium, which is right
- 8:35Speaker 1: across the street from my hotel in downtown Nashville, which
- 8:38Speaker 1: has been somewhat renovated, but still the original concert hall
- 8:40Speaker 1: is the same, but in the early seventies they moved
- 8:44Speaker 1: out to this. The Grand Old Opry has its own
- 8:46Speaker 1: building in this mall. I'm sure they built them all
- 8:49Speaker 1: around the Grand Opry. But anyway, if you ever get
- 8:51Speaker 1: a chance, and they're in Nashville, Tennessee. It's certainly worth
- 8:55Speaker 1: seeing a show at the Grand Old Opry.
- 8:56Speaker 4: It was really cool that is now outside from that experience,
- 9:03Speaker 4: you were there for work.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Oh that let's talk about football.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah that we are in sports talk Rady Worry. Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 1: On the show today, we're gonna talk about the latest
- 9:14Speaker 1: I know about Bud Clark's injury, the major injuries also
- 9:17Speaker 1: to Jake Bobo, Mason Richmond. I'll tell you that was
- 9:20Speaker 1: an affected team last night, during and after the game.
- 9:25Speaker 1: The game became secondary on like the first series of
- 9:28Speaker 1: each offense and defense. The guy's just like, man, what
- 9:31Speaker 1: is this preseason? We're losing dudes for the year. I'll
- 9:35Speaker 1: tell you they had some plans for Bud Clark. They
- 9:37Speaker 1: had changed him in the last week and a half
- 9:39Speaker 1: to be a deep safety in the back rather than
- 9:41Speaker 1: giving him the nick even Warry hybrid linebacker move him
- 9:44Speaker 1: all over the field treatment. That they started him in
- 9:45Speaker 1: training camp and they were considering Bud Clark challenging Tyle
- 9:50Speaker 1: Kotta for some first team action and depending on what
- 9:53Speaker 1: type of opponent they'd be facing him each week. Because
- 9:56Speaker 1: of how much they love Bud Clark's athleticism and his
- 9:59Speaker 1: ball skills. The ball in the air ocata is just
- 10:02Speaker 1: a one percent assignments to sound and yeah he is
- 10:07Speaker 1: a coach on the field, but the athleticism and the
- 10:10Speaker 1: ability to get on the ball in the air is
- 10:12Speaker 1: what they hadn't seen a lot until recently when they
- 10:14Speaker 1: put Clark back in the back again. But now he
- 10:17Speaker 1: has a broken ankle, so all those plans are gone.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Rodney Thomas, the former Indianapolis Colts starter at safety, hand surgery,
- 10:24Speaker 1: McDonald revealed after the game last night, So he's out.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And when he asked McDonald about safety, he's like, yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 1: we're gonna have to re meet and re reevaluate that
- 10:33Speaker 1: position on what we're gonna do. Depth wise, it's still
- 10:36Speaker 1: gonna be Tyle Katta and Julian Love starting September ninth
- 10:39Speaker 1: in the Open against New England. But then it's just
- 10:41Speaker 1: a mix. And they've really changed their plans in these
- 10:45Speaker 1: last week or four days with these injuries. The Anthony
- 10:48Speaker 1: Bell was the deep safety that came in last night
- 10:50Speaker 1: after Bud Clark broke his ankle. He had been an
- 10:54Speaker 1: extra defensive back earlier in camp in the Nick even
- 10:56Speaker 1: warrior role. They're still thinking Nicky. I mean, Warry is
- 10:58Speaker 1: about a fifty to fifty has to come back for
- 11:00Speaker 1: the opener. A lot I've gleaned by this weekend I
- 11:03Speaker 1: can share with you during the show. I'll talk about
- 11:05Speaker 1: the mostcouraging thing I saw from the Seahawks last night,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and it was during the celebration under Cardia Wright's sixty
- 11:11Speaker 1: nine yard touchdown run. And it wasn't the fact that
- 11:16Speaker 1: they got an unsports like penalty that Mike McDonald has
- 11:18Speaker 1: been daring them to get for celebrating and coming under
- 11:20Speaker 1: the field. It was who came onto the field. We'll
- 11:22Speaker 1: talk about this. I don't know if you noticed that, Jessman,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but there was a certain number twenty six that was
- 11:28Speaker 1: running out on the field with.
- 11:29Speaker 3: A certain one. Are there multiples?
- 11:33Speaker 1: The only one? Thanks?
- 11:34Speaker 3: I love it.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Ten twenty five. We're gonna hear from Drew Locke what
- 11:38Speaker 1: he said last night after his twelve of fourteen, one
- 11:40Speaker 1: touchdowne hundred and three yard performance, specifically on what Drew
- 11:44Speaker 1: lock says about Jalen Milroe, because that was not an
- 11:47Speaker 1: encouraging performance last night by Milroe. Same issues, same mistakes
- 11:51Speaker 1: he's made. Now two games in a row, and coaches
- 11:53Speaker 1: will tell you, especially at the quarterback position, just don't
- 11:56Speaker 1: make the same mistake twice. And he did the fourth
- 12:00Speaker 1: down play. You can't do that. He did it against
- 12:03Speaker 1: Dallas last week. Milroe did holding onto the ball, holding
- 12:06Speaker 1: onto the ball and getting sacked. He did the same
- 12:08Speaker 1: thing last night on fourth down. And I asked Mike
- 12:10Speaker 1: McDonald after the game about it. He goes, yeah, Well,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you don't just want to throw at pell Mell into
- 12:13Speaker 1: the era to no one because you could get a
- 12:15Speaker 1: pick six. That's even worse. But you do want to
- 12:17Speaker 1: throw the ball on fourth down, so at least give
- 12:19Speaker 1: you a receiver a fighting chance to gain the first
- 12:21Speaker 1: down and not eat it. He ate it, got sacked.
- 12:26Speaker 1: We'll talk about Jaylen Milroe and where he may or
- 12:28Speaker 1: may not be and Drew Locks. There's an interesting perspective
- 12:31Speaker 1: from Drew Lock because he's been there literally and we'll
- 12:33Speaker 1: explain that. Ten forty five. The Mariners man, what is
- 12:37Speaker 1: up Bryce Miller Now he's injured, Brian wou getting pushed
- 12:40Speaker 1: back and push back again. Now he's not going to start.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It appears until maybe Wednesday, maybe after Wednesday. If he
- 12:46Speaker 1: was supposed to start Saturday. The puzzling decisions again by
- 12:50Speaker 1: Dan Wilson in his use of the bullpen and keeping
- 12:53Speaker 1: Kate Anderson in through the third time through the Cubs
- 12:55Speaker 1: order against two lefties who just right he who crushed
- 12:57Speaker 1: left handed pitching two home runs, Boom boom Randy rose Arena.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I think he's single handily trying to keep the Mariners relevant.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Adjessma, jeez, I mean, I'm sorry.
- 13:07Speaker 4: You rob a home run, you hit a home run,
- 13:10Speaker 4: you walk off a team like, Yeah, Randy's awesome.
- 13:15Speaker 3: That's it.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I'm a roote for Randy person one hundred percent, but
- 13:19Speaker 4: now even more so.
- 13:20Speaker 1: People wanted him traded about a month ago.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Well, he was probably the biggest trade piece that they had.
- 13:25Speaker 4: I think that's where they were coming from.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he's single handily keeping him afloat. Well, if you
- 13:31Speaker 1: call seven games under a float at eleven o'clock, Mike McDonald,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you'll hear from the coach about the progress he thought
- 13:37Speaker 1: his team made this week in Tennessee versus the previous week. Now, again,
- 13:42Speaker 1: no starters have played. The Seahawks are not the same
- 13:45Speaker 1: Seahawks who won the Super Bowl, who have twenty of
- 13:48Speaker 1: twenty two starters returning from the Super Bowl Champions will
- 13:51Speaker 1: not have played from February eighth, Super Bowl sixty in
- 13:54Speaker 1: Santa Clara until September the ninth, the opener against New England.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They're not playing Friday night Kansas City. I've been told
- 14:01Speaker 1: that Jedarim Price is not playing in Kansas City. I've
- 14:04Speaker 1: been told that they are in bubble wrap mode with Jeddarium. Price.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Is that unique?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Well, it is unique in the fact he's a rookie,
- 14:14Speaker 1: first round pick who has not had a pro snap yet. Now,
- 14:17Speaker 1: if you had a starting running back with experience, you
- 14:19Speaker 1: wouldn't really need to see much. Here's Price. Not only
- 14:22Speaker 1: has he not ever taken a pro snap yet, he
- 14:24Speaker 1: missed about what a week of practice ending last week
- 14:28Speaker 1: with an upper legs soreness issue. So he hasn't had
- 14:31Speaker 1: a full training camp either, and he's not gonna have
- 14:32Speaker 1: a preseason snap. I mean, they've seen enough. They've seen
- 14:36Speaker 1: enough in practice, They've seen enough in his decisive cuts.
- 14:40Speaker 1: They even limited him in the joint practice on Friday.
- 14:43Speaker 1: He was one of the only starters I noticed who
- 14:45Speaker 1: got limited reps. George Hallani was full go, first team
- 14:49Speaker 1: first running back up and Price caught a couple passes,
- 14:52Speaker 1: had a couple inside runs, and that was about it.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So they are kid glovin the rookie first round pick
- 14:58Speaker 1: out of necessity for what has been a ravaged by
- 15:02Speaker 1: injury position. I mean right eighty one yards on eight
- 15:04Speaker 1: cares in the sixty nine yard touchdown last night. Wright
- 15:07Speaker 1: missed two weeks with a lower ankle lower leg injury
- 15:11Speaker 1: until just about a week or so ago, So they're
- 15:13Speaker 1: even trying to take care of George Hallane. That's how
- 15:16Speaker 1: they are running back right now. So yes, Price, you're
- 15:19Speaker 1: not going to see him until the opener September the ninth,
- 15:22Speaker 1: four nine four five. One of the coming Dodge text
- 15:24Speaker 1: on how do you feel about that? You're going to
- 15:26Speaker 1: come in with a brand new first round draft pick
- 15:27Speaker 1: running back and he's just going in cold, cold in
- 15:31Speaker 1: the sense of no game action, not cold in the
- 15:33Speaker 1: sense he's been practicing. Also, at eleven o'clock, right after
- 15:37Speaker 1: Mike McDonald, you here from Jared Reid, we're going to
- 15:39Speaker 1: replay the interview I had ron the field with him
- 15:42Speaker 1: at the joint practice here in Nashville on Friday, specifically
- 15:45Speaker 1: about he'll hear from Reid about what he thought about
- 15:47Speaker 1: the joint practice, but also the veteran defensive tackle is
- 15:50Speaker 1: going to talk about Byron Murphy. He went on about
- 15:53Speaker 1: Byron Murphy thinking he should be one of the highest
- 15:55Speaker 1: peaks like Jalen Carter type paid this time, next week,
- 16:00Speaker 1: next year. Excuse me to coming out to the text line.
- 16:04Speaker 1: We'll read back your text at eleven thirty and Jessman
- 16:06Speaker 1: loves to have talkbacks.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I do. I want your voices.
- 16:11Speaker 4: I want to hear what you think about this preseason.
- 16:14Speaker 4: I want to hear what you think about the Mariners,
- 16:17Speaker 4: their decisions with the pitching staff, the rotation.
- 16:21Speaker 3: I mean, it's all over the place right now.
- 16:23Speaker 4: We're in the best time of sports because baseball and
- 16:28Speaker 4: football crossover. So whatever you're thinking about and wherever you are,
- 16:32Speaker 4: I want to hear your voice.
- 16:35Speaker 1: What is up with the Mariners and injured players? I mean,
- 16:39Speaker 1: it's it's almost malpracticed to have guys that are hurt
- 16:41Speaker 1: going out there when you got guys in the minor
- 16:43Speaker 1: leagues who could be up here playing for you. And
- 16:45Speaker 1: that's that's why you have that depth. Yeah, Also you
- 16:49Speaker 1: your thoughts on the Seahawks. Are two preseason games go ahead?
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yes?
- 16:54Speaker 4: No, I'm just curious when it comes to that, how
- 16:56Speaker 4: much of I say, does the player have in it?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Because guys I want to play, they want to go
- 17:01Speaker 4: out there, and so how much are they holding back?
- 17:06Speaker 3: We don't know are they holding back?
- 17:08Speaker 4: Is it the training staff saying, you know, he's okay
- 17:11Speaker 4: right now, but it's not completely fixed. When it comes
- 17:14Speaker 4: to each Pacific player, I just I'm curious.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 17:19Speaker 1: It's been cold Emerson, who's not going to say ing
- 17:21Speaker 1: as a twenty year old rookie. It's been Josh Naylor,
- 17:24Speaker 1: it's been Cal Rawley, It's been Brendan Donovan, it's been
- 17:27Speaker 1: JP Crawford. All these dudes have played injured this year,
- 17:31Speaker 1: and now Bryce Miller and now Brian Wu both of
- 17:35Speaker 1: them are still in the rotation. Trevon Diggs, what did
- 17:40Speaker 1: I see this weekend? On Friday? Digs the new corner
- 17:43Speaker 1: they signed last Wednesday. On Friday, he was full pads practicing,
- 17:47Speaker 1: but he only did position drills in the joint practice
- 17:49Speaker 1: with the Titans. As soon as they went scrimmaging, he
- 17:51Speaker 1: took his shoulder pads off and watched. He's not been
- 17:54Speaker 1: in shoulder pads since January. His two games stint with
- 17:56Speaker 1: the Green Bay Packers, including one playoff game yes or Sunday. Yesterday, pregame,
- 18:01Speaker 1: he was full go, as full go as you can
- 18:04Speaker 1: be in pregame warmups and then took his pads off
- 18:07Speaker 1: and watched like the rest of the starters did. They're
- 18:10Speaker 1: trying to ramp him up to play Friday night in
- 18:12Speaker 1: Kansas City. When I asked Diggs about that late last week,
- 18:15Speaker 1: he said, maybe, but even if they don't, he's on
- 18:19Speaker 1: the He's emerging as an option as the third corner
- 18:22Speaker 1: if they don't like Neami Pritchett or no Ignitoghathy. Iigmadagna
- 18:26Speaker 1: had that ticki tag pass interference penalty down the sideline yesterday.
- 18:29Speaker 1: He also got that was whatever that was not a penalty,
- 18:33Speaker 1: and he also got picked off by his own guy,
- 18:35Speaker 1: Chas Surah ran him over as he was trying to
- 18:37Speaker 1: get outside to an out and up route and that
- 18:39Speaker 1: was a big play for the Titans last night, and
- 18:41Speaker 1: his own guy so Rot hit Bigmannoghay, who can't be
- 18:44Speaker 1: faulted for that. Nami Pritchett had a play that is
- 18:48Speaker 1: really symbolic of what they need him to be better at.
- 18:51Speaker 1: There was a bubble screen outside. I think it was
- 18:54Speaker 1: early third quarter, late second and the Titans had a
- 18:57Speaker 1: blocker right in front of the wide receiver and Pritchett
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'd step the block and then dump the receiver immediately
- 19:03Speaker 1: two yard game. Tackling is the reason Pritchett has fallen
- 19:07Speaker 1: off with the Ones lately, and ignatogamy has gone up. Well, now,
- 19:13Speaker 1: if Pritchett can show he's tackling, he becomes I mean,
- 19:16Speaker 1: last night was going a long way to decide who
- 19:18Speaker 1: the interim third cornerback is until Travron Diggs is ready.
- 19:21Speaker 1: One more in the cornerbacks, Terry On Arnold. There's a
- 19:24Speaker 1: possibility Seahawks are going to sign him this week. Remember
- 19:26Speaker 1: we talked about maybe they would do it after the
- 19:28Speaker 1: Chiefs game, maybe the August twenty ninth, the one day
- 19:30Speaker 1: before the cuts. They're starting to determine who they're going
- 19:33Speaker 1: to cut on the ninety to fifty three and they
- 19:35Speaker 1: may cut one of them preemptively this week to get
- 19:38Speaker 1: Terry On Arnold on the roster, and then the Seahawks
- 19:41Speaker 1: are expecting him to get on the Commissioner's exemp list,
- 19:44Speaker 1: be roster exempt and not be able to practice or play.
- 19:46Speaker 1: He can be in team meetings, he can be in
- 19:48Speaker 1: the facility. They are still hoping that's yes, he can
- 19:53Speaker 1: work out, that's it. He can't do anything on the
- 19:54Speaker 1: field with the team. There is the hope. They still
- 19:57Speaker 1: are hoping that he could play mid season, maybe late midseason.
- 20:01Speaker 1: But again, they still have the rights to him for
- 20:03Speaker 1: next year if they sign him now because of his
- 20:06Speaker 1: only has two years in the league right now, they
- 20:08Speaker 1: could keep him as a restricted free agent if he
- 20:10Speaker 1: plays six and more games. If he plays fewer than
- 20:12Speaker 1: six games, which seems possible, if not likely, while he's
- 20:15Speaker 1: still facing these eight felony charges in Florida and the
- 20:18Speaker 1: next court hearing is until the first week of October.
- 20:21Speaker 1: If he doesn't play six games, they can keep as
- 20:23Speaker 1: an exclusive rights free agent, which costs even less than
- 20:26Speaker 1: a restricted free agent, and nobody else can match that.
- 20:29Speaker 1: So they didn't do this just to sign him for
- 20:31Speaker 1: this year. They did it to have the rights to
- 20:33Speaker 1: have Arnold next year if the legal system allows him
- 20:35Speaker 1: to play. And those are all big ifs. I've covered
- 20:39Speaker 1: a lot of ground there in a short amount of time.
- 20:40Speaker 1: But four nine, four to five one. If you have
- 20:42Speaker 1: any questions or comments about any of that. Should they
- 20:45Speaker 1: just cut bait on Arnold and run with Diggs. They
- 20:48Speaker 1: liked what they've seen with Digs so far. He looks
- 20:51Speaker 1: the part size wise, he looks in shape, he's healthy,
- 20:54Speaker 1: healthier than he's been in a while. Knee issues, major
- 20:57Speaker 1: knee issue. He hasn't had a full season since twenty
- 21:00Speaker 1: twenty two. He could be an option. I don't know
- 21:03Speaker 1: how quickly he can be ready in game shape because
- 21:05Speaker 1: he just signed last week and he's only had two practices.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Up next, the Seahawks quarterback situation behind Sam Donald. Sam
- 21:14Speaker 1: Donald's gonna play if he doesn't play. The Seahawks seasons
- 21:16Speaker 1: in trouble anyway. That's true of any starting quarterback in
- 21:19Speaker 1: the NFL. But Drew Locke looked good, got away with
- 21:22Speaker 1: an interception on a penalty flag early to play. Jalen
- 21:26Speaker 1: Millroe did not, And I asked Drew Locke about Jalen
- 21:29Speaker 1: Miller and how he's counseling him. I thought there was
- 21:32Speaker 1: an interesting perspective from Locke on what Milroe's going through.
- 21:35Speaker 1: You'll hear that next eleven o'clock. The coach Mike McDonald
- 21:38Speaker 1: recapping a very eventful three days here in Nashville. All
- 21:41Speaker 1: that's coming up in ninety three point three KJRFM. All right,
- 22:09Speaker 1: welcome back to Nashville. I mean the iHeart Studios on
- 22:12Speaker 1: Broadway right off Music Row, Greg Bell, the News Tribune.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Jesson McIntyre's back in our Elliott based studios in downtown Seattle.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Can you get back in time? I'm sorry, I need
- 22:22Speaker 1: to see Jess. But if you wonder why Jess and
- 22:24Speaker 1: I talk over each other all the time, it is
- 22:25Speaker 1: because we're two thousand miles away and can't see each other.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry, I just want to talk over you
- 22:31Speaker 3: all the time. I know, but it's my bad.
- 22:34Speaker 1: No, I'm just explaining. People are like, what, don't you
- 22:37Speaker 1: guys even have any No, we have no rapport because
- 22:39Speaker 1: we have two thousand miles does of all that happened
- 22:43Speaker 1: here in Nashville to the Seahawks. Between Jake Bobo's out
- 22:47Speaker 1: for the season knee injury on Friday, Bud Clark breaking
- 22:49Speaker 1: his ankle last night, Mason Richmond major leg injury, a
- 22:53Speaker 1: hand surgery for Rodney Thomas, the veteran safety former Colt starter.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Through all that, the second and third team Seahawks beat
- 23:03Speaker 1: the Titans starters sixteen to three in the first quarter.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Last night at twenty one to twenty two starters for
- 23:10Speaker 1: Tennessee on offense and defense played. Jeffrey Simmons was even
- 23:13Speaker 1: playing the All Pro defensive tackle and as one of
- 23:17Speaker 1: the Titans writers told me in the press box, if
- 23:19Speaker 1: Jeffrey Simmons out of the field, that means all the
- 23:21Speaker 1: starters are on the field and they all were on defense. Meanwhile,
- 23:25Speaker 1: all twenty two of the Seahawks starters on offense and
- 23:27Speaker 1: defense did not play. Yet the Seahawks had a sixteen
- 23:30Speaker 1: to three lead after one quarter because Drew Lock and
- 23:33Speaker 1: the offense was rolled. They were rolling twelve or fourteen
- 23:36Speaker 1: for Lock completed his first ten passes. He did get
- 23:39Speaker 1: away with a poorly, poorly thrown interception wiped off by
- 23:42Speaker 1: an illegal contact penalty. I asked him after game, trying
- 23:45Speaker 1: to give him an out, said, did you see the
- 23:46Speaker 1: flag early and just threw a yolo ball, just chucked
- 23:49Speaker 1: it up and the goal line. He said no, No,
- 23:51Speaker 1: that was a terrible, terrible pass that went sideways out
- 23:53Speaker 1: of his hand. He said, do you want me to
- 23:56Speaker 1: be honest with you?
- 23:56Speaker 5: Greg?
- 23:57Speaker 1: I said, yeah, thanks, that's kind of how I like
- 23:58Speaker 1: to deal with my the interviews of some honesties. He said, no,
- 24:02Speaker 1: that was really bad bad. I thought that was kind
- 24:04Speaker 1: of funny. No, Drew, you can lie. This would be
- 24:06Speaker 1: another case of please lie to me. Drew Locke, though,
- 24:10Speaker 1: talked at length last night. I asked him about Jalon Milroe.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Milroe had for the second consecutive game a fourth down
- 24:17Speaker 1: where he held onto the ball, held onto the ball
- 24:19Speaker 1: and then took a sack and gave the players no
- 24:21Speaker 1: chance to get the first down. He threw two interceptions,
- 24:24Speaker 1: the second one not his fault because Emmanuel Henderson fell down.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I mean that pass was going to hit Henderson in
- 24:29Speaker 1: the chest where he had been standing, and he fell
- 24:31Speaker 1: down on the turf, and the ball went right through
- 24:34Speaker 1: where he would have been to the Titans defender who
- 24:36Speaker 1: was behind him, for an interception that was not Milroe's fault.
- 24:40Speaker 1: And Mike McDonald made a point of talking about that
- 24:42Speaker 1: when I asked him about Millover's performance, and I said, well,
- 24:46Speaker 1: I know he the receiver filled done. He goes, yeah, exactly.
- 24:48Speaker 1: It looks like two interceptions on the stat sheet, Yet
- 24:50Speaker 1: the decision making like the fourth down, the holding onto
- 24:53Speaker 1: the ball the jumping while throwing Jessmin. They don't practice
- 24:58Speaker 1: quarterbacks getting hit in the preseason. No, even when blitzers
- 25:03Speaker 1: come in off to the edge free, which happened time
- 25:06Speaker 1: and again during training camp, they let the play go.
- 25:09Speaker 1: The defenders just run past the quarterback and the quarterback
- 25:12Speaker 1: completes the pass, so there's no subconscious pressure of getting hit.
- 25:18Speaker 1: And that is Milroe's biggest problem, and in fact, it
- 25:21Speaker 1: was Drew Lock's biggest problem in Denver, which is why
- 25:24Speaker 1: he's no longer the quarterback he was. He was the
- 25:25Speaker 1: starting quarterback for Denver. As a rookie, he led the
- 25:29Speaker 1: league in interceptions, and he'll tell you it's because his
- 25:32Speaker 1: decision making while getting hit and pressured. It took him
- 25:35Speaker 1: forever in the NFL to get used to that. Well,
- 25:38Speaker 1: the Seahawks and all NFL teams don't practice that. They'll
- 25:41Speaker 1: practice reads, they'll practice pickups, they'll practice protections, they'll practice
- 25:46Speaker 1: route trees, throws after throws, but they don't practice quarterbacks
- 25:51Speaker 1: getting smacked in the mouth. And when Milroe gets hit
- 25:54Speaker 1: and pressured, he hesitates or makes mistakes. That's the Drew
- 25:59Speaker 1: Lock thing in Denver, and they the problem I see
- 26:03Speaker 1: it The problem is because Milroe looks great in practice.
- 26:06Speaker 1: His last two or three weeks, he has been He's
- 26:08Speaker 1: had a couple poorer days than others, but markedly better
- 26:12Speaker 1: than he was in the spring, marketly better than he
- 26:14Speaker 1: was in the first week of training camp.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been hearing that from a lot of people
- 26:18Speaker 4: on this station. How much better that he looks now
- 26:22Speaker 4: But like you said, he's not under pressure.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Right, He's not getting hit, And I don't know how
- 26:27Speaker 1: you can't simulate that without risking you Just even if
- 26:30Speaker 1: you wanted Milro to get hit in practice, which you don't,
- 26:33Speaker 1: and think, well, he's the third quarterback if he gets hurt, No,
- 26:36Speaker 1: you don't want to train your defensive players to tee
- 26:38Speaker 1: off on your own team's quarterback in practice. That does
- 26:40Speaker 1: not a precedent that Mike McDonald or any coach wants
- 26:42Speaker 1: to set. So let's table that idea that, oh, well
- 26:45Speaker 1: they should practice him getting hit. No, they won't, shouldn't.
- 26:49Speaker 1: But the fact remains, because he has such limited reps
- 26:52Speaker 1: only in the preseason, he's the third quarterback. Let's face it,
- 26:55Speaker 1: if he's playing quarterback in games, they're either getting boat
- 26:58Speaker 1: raced or boat racing somebody, because there ain't no way
- 27:01Speaker 1: a game matters He's coming in the game. Same with
- 27:04Speaker 1: Drew Locke for that matter. It's Sam Donald's season or
- 27:06Speaker 1: else the Seahawks are in trouble. So given that he
- 27:11Speaker 1: has limited reps and these are it. I've said this
- 27:14Speaker 1: before and written this. The Seahawks are right now trying
- 27:17Speaker 1: to decide whether Drew Locke is their backup quarterback of
- 27:20Speaker 1: the future. His contract ends, a two year deal ends
- 27:23Speaker 1: after this season. If all goes Seahawks ways, Locke and
- 27:27Speaker 1: Milroe aren't going to play this year, so this is it.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It's going to be Donald pretty much every meaningful snap
- 27:34Speaker 1: or else they're in trouble. So this is it. This
- 27:36Speaker 1: is the evaluation time for both Lock and mill Rope.
- 27:39Speaker 1: And have they seeing enough about Milrow that says, ah
- 27:41Speaker 1: He's going to be our backup quarterback in the future.
- 27:43Speaker 1: And the answer right now is an undeniable no. So
- 27:47Speaker 1: do you re sign Locke after this year based on
- 27:50Speaker 1: what you're seeing right now? The answer is yes. But
- 27:53Speaker 1: all that evaluating is going on right now. And I
- 27:56Speaker 1: asked last night Drew Locke about Jalen Milroe and what
- 27:58Speaker 1: he's going through. This is what he said about that
- 28:01Speaker 1: and other things last night in Nashville, Drew Locke before
- 28:04Speaker 1: you get to.
- 28:04Speaker 6: Your your first half of Paul over the whole night said,
- 28:08Speaker 6: and drew right away to cart the Mason.
- 28:11Speaker 5: Yeah, that's one thing you obviously try to avoid as
- 28:16Speaker 5: much as you can, and in the preseason games it
- 28:20Speaker 5: is the life of football, though. But for those two guys,
- 28:25Speaker 5: you know, Bud coming and working as hard as he has,
- 28:28Speaker 5: figuring the system out, finally getting comfortable to have something
- 28:30Speaker 5: like that. I don't know what happened, but it was
- 28:33Speaker 5: serious enough to you know, get card off and then
- 28:36Speaker 5: even Mason man, I was just giving him props to
- 28:40Speaker 5: I forgot who I was talking to the other day
- 28:41Speaker 5: about how good he's been in this this camp and
- 28:44Speaker 5: how versatile he is. We had a couple of guys
- 28:46Speaker 5: go down in that h joint practice against them, and Mason,
- 28:52Speaker 5: who's been running center and guard all camp, just pops
- 28:56Speaker 5: a tackle and didn't notice anything. Just a versatile guy
- 28:59Speaker 5: that I think as a really bright feature in this league,
- 29:02Speaker 5: and it's tough for him. Again, not sure what happened
- 29:05Speaker 5: to him, but I hope it's not terrible.
- 29:10Speaker 7: You've talked about how you know, as the season progresses,
- 29:12Speaker 7: your world changes.
- 29:13Speaker 8: As a backup in like that, How valuable are these.
- 29:16Speaker 7: Reps getting their starting defense for a quarter plus to
- 29:19Speaker 7: to really test yourself out.
- 29:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's awesome. You know, you never know kind of
- 29:25Speaker 5: week to week on who you're playing on if stars
- 29:27Speaker 5: are going, if starts are not going. But you know,
- 29:31Speaker 5: you when you get a test like that, it just
- 29:34Speaker 5: kind of puts real ball on the table and put
- 29:37Speaker 5: some perspective on what we can do in the wrong game,
- 29:40Speaker 5: what we can do in the past game. Just being
- 29:43Speaker 5: focused going into the week. Man, it was awesome. It
- 29:47Speaker 5: was I'm out of lost words for how proud of
- 29:49Speaker 5: the group that I've been running with in camp be
- 29:53Speaker 5: able to go out there and do what we did
- 29:54Speaker 5: in those first couple of drives. That was awesome.
- 29:58Speaker 8: What did you see on that? On the touchdown to
- 30:00Speaker 8: Eliza kind of looked like maybe the little covers there.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Yeah, sweet sweet play sweet played by Flurry. You know,
- 30:08Speaker 5: got in a couple of walkthroughs. O line sold it perfectly.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I think believe Jaccardi might have been my back good
- 30:18Speaker 5: match back there and got to bite up and there he.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Was on the interception.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Did you supplied or nobody and just throwing when you
- 30:26Speaker 6: got free.
- 30:26Speaker 5: By maybe honestly, now, that ball came out of my
- 30:30Speaker 5: hand so bad.
- 30:32Speaker 9: We we ran a uh, we had a fourth down
- 30:37Speaker 9: in the practice that we just ended up launching a
- 30:41Speaker 9: go ball on and I had to move left to
- 30:44Speaker 9: throw it.
- 30:44Speaker 5: It literally was the same exact feeling, all right, moving left,
- 30:48Speaker 5: there's cody throw. It just rolled off the hand, pretty bad.
- 30:54Speaker 5: Chalk it up as a as a bad bad ball,
- 30:58Speaker 5: but thank you the Zebra's Yeah, of course, of course
- 31:03Speaker 5: two weeks and already picked up third down with rods.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Dual for now.
- 31:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I wouldn't say that just yet. I will. I
- 31:11Speaker 5: will do it when it's when it's necessary and when
- 31:14Speaker 5: there's when there's an opportunity. Never been afraid to do that,
- 31:18Speaker 5: and you know, given an opportunity, I'll go do it. Yeah. No,
- 31:22Speaker 5: I it's fun doing it. Maybe take a little less
- 31:26Speaker 5: hits here and there, but again, third downs kind of
- 31:29Speaker 5: just getting a little different mindset about going and getting it.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Maybe first and second aunty slide, but third downs are
- 31:34Speaker 5: hard to get down on. Gott to go, try to
- 31:36Speaker 5: move the six and should think goodness you did and
- 31:39Speaker 5: the next play was the It was the long one
- 31:41Speaker 5: of gardis that was cool?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Mike, Mike.
- 31:44Speaker 8: Mike had talked after the Dallas game and wonder the
- 31:46Speaker 8: operation wasn't really where it wanted to be a big
- 31:48Speaker 8: focus this week. Just how did you kind of feel
- 31:50Speaker 8: that come of life. I guess this week in practice
- 31:52Speaker 8: kind of that effort on that and how it showed
- 31:54Speaker 8: up today.
- 31:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, guys hustling the ball. That was a
- 31:56Speaker 5: big thing for us, is you know, breaking the snap
- 31:59Speaker 5: or breaking the huddle with the urgency getting up to
- 32:00Speaker 5: the ball, putting the pressure on the defense. Chrisp with
- 32:04Speaker 5: our motions, Chris, with our shifts. I feel like we,
- 32:09Speaker 5: like you said, we made a big of a song
- 32:10Speaker 5: this week and took steps forward. We can still be
- 32:14Speaker 5: better with some cadence things. You know that starts with
- 32:17Speaker 5: us in the huddle and then being able to go
- 32:19Speaker 5: out and execute all eleven being able to do that,
- 32:21Speaker 5: but definitely took big steps in the in the operation
- 32:25Speaker 5: standpoint with.
- 32:27Speaker 6: Jay number six two reception, you see the ball finally
- 32:29Speaker 6: second one, but you talk to him about the pressing
- 32:33Speaker 6: your season.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You got to m off two weeks for.
- 32:37Speaker 5: Me and Jalen have a lot of good talks. I
- 32:41Speaker 5: think for him, the thing that you know I've experienced
- 32:44Speaker 5: in in my career is just continuing to find ways
- 32:49Speaker 5: to get to the next play. Just clear your head,
- 32:54Speaker 5: no matter if it was your fault somebody else's fault,
- 32:58Speaker 5: and he does a great job of that. I think
- 33:00Speaker 5: that's just the constant reminder that you know, we play
- 33:03Speaker 5: a special position where we always have the ball in
- 33:07Speaker 5: our hands, so everybody's looking at us. It's also ten
- 33:10Speaker 5: guys around us, and we all need to be on
- 33:11Speaker 5: the same page and executing at the same level. And
- 33:14Speaker 5: sometimes that doesn't happen, and you learn lessons as a
- 33:18Speaker 5: young quarterback, even as an old quarterback. I'm sure Sam
- 33:20Speaker 5: learned lessons last year. It's just about continuing to get
- 33:22Speaker 5: better and moving on to the next play and perfecting
- 33:24Speaker 5: your process.
- 33:27Speaker 1: That was Drew Lock last night here in Nashville, going
- 33:29Speaker 1: twelve or fourteen passing with a touchdown thirty six yards
- 33:32Speaker 1: to Elijah Royo. Elijah Royo another one who helped himself
- 33:35Speaker 1: last night. He's had a really strong camp being featured
- 33:38Speaker 1: more down the field in Brian Flurry's offense. We talk
- 33:41Speaker 1: about Flurry, the former tight ends coach with the forty
- 33:43Speaker 1: nine ers loosening up the tight ends and letting them
- 33:46Speaker 1: go down the field and A J. Barner and Elijah Royo,
- 33:49Speaker 1: they have chances to be big play receivers down the
- 33:51Speaker 1: middle and putting safeties in a box of trying to
- 33:53Speaker 1: decide whom to cover deep down the field. Who else
- 33:58Speaker 1: helped themselves last night I mentioned Pritchett. Emmanuel Henderson Junior.
- 34:02Speaker 1: The reason they drafted him in the sixth down was
- 34:04Speaker 1: first and foremost for special teams to prime to possibly
- 34:07Speaker 1: be the new gunner, the outside punt cover guy. Now
- 34:10Speaker 1: that Drek Young signed with the Raiders in the offseason,
- 34:13Speaker 1: and man, he looked good last night doing that. I
- 34:16Speaker 1: don't know if viewers noticed him, but one time he
- 34:19Speaker 1: made a tackle. He was in on the tackle with
- 34:21Speaker 1: Cody White for a one yard loss on a Titans
- 34:23Speaker 1: kick return. White, by the way, muffed a really easy punt.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I don't know why he muffed that. That was uncharacteristic
- 34:29Speaker 1: bad play White, but White made a good player on
- 34:32Speaker 1: the right gunner side, running down the sideline to get
- 34:33Speaker 1: in on tackle. Henderson ran from the left gunner all
- 34:37Speaker 1: the way fifty four yards across the field, plus another
- 34:40Speaker 1: fifty down the field to be in on that tackle.
- 34:43Speaker 1: He was flying. It was right in front of me,
- 34:45Speaker 1: and I was like, wow, is eighty four running fast?
- 34:48Speaker 1: And he had a tackle on his own gunner side
- 34:50Speaker 1: later in that second half, and I asked Mike McDonald
- 34:52Speaker 1: about him in particular, and he said, yeah, that is
- 34:55Speaker 1: why we drafted him. But we, as a typical coach
- 34:59Speaker 1: will say, he said, well, you also need him to
- 35:00Speaker 1: be a wide receiver in this league too, And we
- 35:03Speaker 1: saw him fall down on the second interception by Jalen Milroe.
- 35:06Speaker 1: Brandon Peely I thought was excellent. He forced a holding
- 35:10Speaker 1: call in the red zone on the Titans on negated
- 35:12Speaker 1: a touchdown because of his relentless pass rush. He was
- 35:15Speaker 1: in the backfield on a couple plays, including a fourth
- 35:18Speaker 1: down stop with Connor O'Toole, who was also very good.
- 35:21Speaker 1: O'Toole had two sacks and a tackle for loss in
- 35:23Speaker 1: the third quarter last night. Some that didn't help themselves,
- 35:28Speaker 1: I thought, Josh Jones, I don't know what PFF. I
- 35:30Speaker 1: think there have some ratings out there that said he
- 35:32Speaker 1: had a really good pass blocking night. He got shoved
- 35:35Speaker 1: into Drew Locke at one point in the second quarter Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 1: it was the early second quarter. That was right after
- 35:40Speaker 1: a false start penalty. I don't think Josh Jones had
- 35:44Speaker 1: a very good training camp for as valuable as he
- 35:47Speaker 1: was last year as a swing backup tackle. The veteran. Overall, though,
- 35:51Speaker 1: the backup starting offensive line was much better than it
- 35:53Speaker 1: was against Dallas. They were going against Dallas reserves and
- 35:56Speaker 1: didn't look as good as they looked against Tennessee's starters
- 35:59Speaker 1: last night.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Greig, can I ask you a question.
- 36:01Speaker 4: We talked about some of the quote unquote heat related
- 36:04Speaker 4: injuries that we saw when you were live there at
- 36:07Speaker 4: training camp or I'm sorry at joint practice.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and Nashville Abe Lucas all good.
- 36:15Speaker 1: I saw him warming up last night. Okay, I saw
- 36:17Speaker 1: him warming up. Not extensively, but I did see him
- 36:20Speaker 1: warming up. A lot of the starters were in full
- 36:23Speaker 1: pads for warm up, so it didn't do a lot.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I barely saw Sam Darnold throw. I saw maybe a
- 36:28Speaker 1: couple routes. I was watching Smith and Jigbin Cup and
- 36:31Speaker 1: they barely ran routes. I mean, it was a big,
- 36:33Speaker 1: big off night for most of the starters, but Lucas
- 36:37Speaker 1: was on the field in pads last night. It was
- 36:39Speaker 1: a heat related issue. He came out midway. It was
- 36:41Speaker 1: a heat related issue from Montry Foster, who, by the way,
- 36:44Speaker 1: almost caught a second touchdown pass from Locke last night.
- 36:47Speaker 1: He superman dived out for that, laid out, had the
- 36:51Speaker 1: ball between his hands and the end zone, but the
- 36:53Speaker 1: officials rightly ruled that the ball did hit the ground
- 36:56Speaker 1: between his hands. In the NFL, that's not a catch
- 37:00Speaker 1: again he had. I think it was it was the
- 37:04Speaker 1: OPI on him that he pushed off on a curl
- 37:06Speaker 1: route for it would have been twenty four yards in
- 37:08Speaker 1: the first down. But he had a couple of other
- 37:09Speaker 1: fine catches over the middle, and when quarterbacks doro accurately
- 37:13Speaker 1: to him, he gets open and can catch and run
- 37:15Speaker 1: and get away from defenders. He's showing that both in
- 37:18Speaker 1: training camp and again last night. I think Foster makes
- 37:21Speaker 1: the team, especially with Jake Bobo, but I think he
- 37:23Speaker 1: was gonna make the team before Bobo's injury. So those
- 37:26Speaker 1: are some of those that helped themselves last night. I
- 37:29Speaker 1: really is impressed by Brandon Peeley. He just has a
- 37:32Speaker 1: motor at nose tackle, somewhat like Byron Murphy. He's not
- 37:36Speaker 1: as physically talented or as elite as Murphy. But Brandon
- 37:40Speaker 1: Peeley they need depth of that position. It looks like
- 37:43Speaker 1: he's going to be the new nose tackle again. Devin Eastern.
- 37:45Speaker 1: They drafted a nose tackle from Minnesota. The seventh round pick.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Has yet to stand out. He's been injured for part
- 37:51Speaker 1: of the summer. But I think Brendan Peeley has been
- 37:54Speaker 1: very good.
- 37:55Speaker 3: That's a name to watch, people, that's a name to watch.
- 37:57Speaker 4: That's why we need your eyes on the ground and
- 38:00Speaker 4: your feet on Broadway because you're supposed to have some fun.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I said, I had to pace myself for
- 38:07Speaker 1: that Broadway stuff. I'm getting old.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Woah.
- 38:11Speaker 1: The two hour time difference helped. But now the Seahawks
- 38:15Speaker 1: now to reset. They have one more preseason game. They
- 38:17Speaker 1: got home at like four am today, so they're off
- 38:21Speaker 1: of practice today. They'll be practicing Tomorrow, Wednesday, pretty heavy practice. Wednesday,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and Thursday a lighter practice. Then they get on a
- 38:28Speaker 1: plane Thursday afternoon and play a final preseason game Friday
- 38:31Speaker 1: at Kansas City. That's the twenty eighth of August. August
- 38:34Speaker 1: thirtieth is the cutdown day from ninety to fifty three,
- 38:37Speaker 1: when thirteen hundred players become available, whatever the number is,
- 38:41Speaker 1: eleven hundred players, and then the Arry and Arnold situation
- 38:46Speaker 1: will have I think, played itself out by the thirtieth
- 38:49Speaker 1: or so well, no sex will sign him by then.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Then he'll be put on the exempt list and they'll
- 38:55Speaker 1: go from there, hoping that the legal system in Florida
- 38:59Speaker 1: might I'll permit him to play. There's some Seahawks have
- 39:02Speaker 1: some reasonab believe there's a possibility he could play this year.
- 39:05Speaker 1: But that's where it stands now. The twenty eighth Friday,
- 39:08Speaker 1: the final preseason game, and no starters again, planning to
- 39:11Speaker 1: already in price not playing toward what sixteen days from
- 39:14Speaker 1: now until the first game September the ninth against New England.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Up next, the Mariners. It's just it's crazy the stuff
- 39:23Speaker 1: they are doing, and how they're losing, and when they win,
- 39:27Speaker 1: how they sometimes accidentally win, and guys playing hurt. It's
- 39:33Speaker 1: just there's some stuff that just the lack of leadership
- 39:37Speaker 1: from the top on down is just it's pervasive in
- 39:42Speaker 1: this franchise. We're going to talk about the Mariners next.
- 39:44Speaker 1: We'll read back your text, your thought on the marriage,
- 39:46Speaker 1: your thought on the Seahawks. Anything concerning you, anything concerning
- 39:49Speaker 1: you about Price not playing until the opener. We'll read
- 39:51Speaker 1: back your text. At eleven thirty live from Nashville on
- 39:53Speaker 1: ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 40:08Speaker 10: Runs all around one two, crack down the line, the
- 40:15Speaker 10: sides off the foul pole, a grand slam, and the.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Power shows up for e and half five two caps
- 40:28Speaker 2: in frive. Bregman didn't beat him, but Half did. That
- 40:35Speaker 2: was and goes on that Mariners TV.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yesterday, Bryce Miller a career high seven walk, six runs
- 40:42Speaker 1: allowed with only two hits. He had walked the bases
- 40:44Speaker 1: loaded before that grand slam off the foul pole yesterday
- 40:48Speaker 1: at the Yard and Soto that kept the Manners from
- 40:51Speaker 1: sweeping the Cubs, a very unlikely first two wins for
- 40:54Speaker 1: the Mariners last at bats and then yesterday nineteen to two.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I mentioned Bryce Miller doing something that hasn't happened in
- 41:02Speaker 1: Major League Baseball since eighteen ninety lose eighteen ninety nineteen ninety.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Eighteen ninety was the last time a starting pitcher lost
- 41:10Speaker 1: back the back starts by at least seventeen runs, nineteen
- 41:15Speaker 1: to two after twenty two to nothing in the span
- 41:17Speaker 1: of four days.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought I was good luck because I was
- 41:21Speaker 4: at the games where they kind of made it happen
- 41:25Speaker 4: at the last minute.
- 41:26Speaker 3: And then I went.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yesterday, oh sorry about that.
- 41:30Speaker 4: It was ten two, and I was like, Mike, let's uh,
- 41:34Speaker 4: let's head on out.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Mike agreed, I'm sure from the Seattle.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Time yesterday, actually he's a stayer.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Oh good for her stay to the end. Nineteen to two.
- 41:45Speaker 1: That's the diard in Adam Jujes's story in the Seattle
- 41:49Speaker 1: Times after the game yesterday quote in a postgame Miller
- 41:52Speaker 1: interview Sunday, Miller did not want to use a recent
- 41:55Speaker 1: issue in his lap muscle as an excuse for his
- 41:57Speaker 1: recent troubles. He described it as a minor ailment. But
- 42:00Speaker 1: Miller's downturn over the past month has coincided with the
- 42:02Speaker 1: lat issue that first surfaced during his start in Texas
- 42:05Speaker 1: on July twenty fourth, in which he did not record
- 42:07Speaker 1: a strikeoup for the first time in his career. The
- 42:10Speaker 1: club decided to push back His next to will start
- 42:12Speaker 1: a day instead of a series finale at Dodger Stadium,
- 42:15Speaker 1: and he will und up pitching at home against Minnesota
- 42:17Speaker 1: the following day. But since then, he has taken every
- 42:19Speaker 1: turn in the rotation and the results have put in
- 42:21Speaker 1: the question his spot in the Mariner six man rotation. Yeah,
- 42:26Speaker 1: over the last six starts, Miller has allowed twenty seven
- 42:29Speaker 1: earned runs in thirty innings eight one era, thirty one
- 42:34Speaker 1: hits allowed, fifteen walks twenty one striker. The fifteen walks
- 42:38Speaker 1: is not in either. Now, Kate Anderson's here, pitched on Saturday.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Why are we still in a six man rotation with
- 42:45Speaker 1: a hurt pitcher? There's day of two hurd pitchers. Brian
- 42:49Speaker 1: wu was pushed back from Saturday originally to Sunday. Is
- 42:52Speaker 1: how Kate Anderson got up here from double A Arkansas.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Now he's not going to pitch till what maybe Wednesday.
- 42:59Speaker 1: So he's said shoulder tightness that he said after that
- 43:02Speaker 1: start that he got the tightness and out, No big deal.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Well it is a big enough deal that he's now
- 43:07Speaker 1: been pushed back twice and now we have Bryce Miller.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Why are these hurt pictures in a rotation that already
- 43:13Speaker 1: has six guys in it. Kate Anderson's here, Why not
- 43:18Speaker 1: shut down Miller for a little while? Anyway, Okay, that's
- 43:23Speaker 1: one issue. How does your starting third baseman get beamed
- 43:26Speaker 1: in the head during batting practice and go on the
- 43:28Speaker 1: concussion list for seven days.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Yeah, how does your.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Two hundred million dollars center fielder get called for a
- 43:36Speaker 1: pitchclock violation because he was throwing a ball into the
- 43:39Speaker 1: crowd while that bat was in play? How does that happen?
- 43:44Speaker 3: That's just a checked out, is what it sounds like.
- 43:47Speaker 1: How are they checked out nine games out?
- 43:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 43:51Speaker 1: That's leadership. That's leadership in the clubhouse. That's leadership in
- 43:54Speaker 1: the dugout. That's leadership in the front office. That's leadership
- 43:57Speaker 1: in the owner's box. That's leadership. The per the problem
- 44:00Speaker 1: with the Mariners baseball white Now we're not talking business
- 44:03Speaker 1: wise because the hot talks from Heaven are still floating
- 44:06Speaker 1: and they're still putting forty five thousand in for fireworks.
- 44:09Speaker 3: It was packed when I went, of course, three days. Yeah. Packed.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Part of that, of course, is because everyone has moved
- 44:15Speaker 1: from the Midwest and there's a bunch of Cubs fans
- 44:17Speaker 1: that now live on the West coast.
- 44:18Speaker 4: It was hard to tell what was going on if
- 44:20Speaker 4: you weren't watching because of the cheers.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I will just say that Chicago showed up.
- 44:27Speaker 1: But the only reason, no, no, not the only the primary,
- 44:31Speaker 1: biggest reason the Mariners are seven games under five hundred
- 44:34Speaker 1: with a team that was eight outs from the World Series.
- 44:36Speaker 1: This is basically the same team that came back, same
- 44:38Speaker 1: pitching staff. They've since traded Castillo, they've added Brendon Donovan,
- 44:42Speaker 1: but other than that, it's the same thing. The primary
- 44:45Speaker 1: reason is a lack of leadership. We are watching. I
- 44:48Speaker 1: mentioned this last week. The twenty twenty six Mariners are
- 44:52Speaker 1: a perfect example of what athletic skill without any leadership
- 44:55Speaker 1: results in.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Infuriating The table should have been flipped. As you've said,
- 45:03Speaker 3: they don't have.
- 45:04Speaker 1: An ass kicker. They don't have an ass kicker in
- 45:06Speaker 1: the entire organization, from Jerry to Poto on down. But
- 45:11Speaker 1: they don't have it. They don't have a leader, a
- 45:13Speaker 1: true leader. They have a bunch of iPads, they have
- 45:15Speaker 1: a bunch of analytics, they have a bunch of hot
- 45:17Speaker 1: dogs from heaven, and they have a bunch of fireworks
- 45:18Speaker 1: and bibbleheads. But they don't have leadership. And they have
- 45:22Speaker 1: mismanagement of pitching staffs. They have mismanagement of pitching decisions.
- 45:25Speaker 1: They have this wealth of pitching that most major league
- 45:28Speaker 1: teams would droll over, would love to have the pitching
- 45:31Speaker 1: staff from the major leagues into the minor leagues that
- 45:33Speaker 1: the Mariners have, and they're doing stuff like running out
- 45:36Speaker 1: pitchers that are hurt and have six man rotations with
- 45:39Speaker 1: two guys broken. I just don't get it, man, I
- 45:44Speaker 1: don't get it. The analytics, the handedness. We've talked about
- 45:47Speaker 1: it for months. It all points back to one thing,
- 45:50Speaker 1: a complete and utter lack of leadership. And that starts
- 45:53Speaker 1: at the top. And I've said it before. The buck
- 45:56Speaker 1: starts and stops with Jerry Depoto up next. The Seahawks
- 46:01Speaker 1: have a Leader's name is Mike McDonald. He spoke last
- 46:04Speaker 1: night about he saw incremental progress, specifically one of the
- 46:08Speaker 1: things he wanted to improve this week in Tennessee. He
- 46:10Speaker 1: saw it. He also saw three major injuries that are
- 46:14Speaker 1: really affecting the depth of these champions. That's all coming
- 46:17Speaker 1: up next. We'll read back your text at eleven thirty four,

- 46:39Speaker 1: Hello, good morning live from Nashville. Thanks for listening. Headlines
- 46:42Speaker 1: I brought to you by Frost Brewed Corslight Chews Chill.
- 46:45Speaker 1: A very bad last three days for the Seahawks in
- 46:47Speaker 1: Nashville health wise, but an incrementally good week overall, Mike
- 46:50Speaker 1: McDonald said. Jake Bobo season ending injury Friday in the
- 46:53Speaker 1: joint practice with the Titans. Mason Richmond major league injury,
- 46:57Speaker 1: major leg injury in the first offensive series of the
- 47:00Speaker 1: preseason game last night against the Titans, and on the
- 47:02Speaker 1: first defensive play, Bud Clark broke his ankle. The rookie
- 47:05Speaker 1: second round pick. About all ninety one players came onto
- 47:08Speaker 1: the field to console Clark because he was taken on
- 47:11Speaker 1: the back of a cart. None of the starters played
- 47:14Speaker 1: again last night, twenty two out of twenty two on
- 47:16Speaker 1: offense and defense. Watch Drew Locke sharp early as the
- 47:19Speaker 1: Seahawks reserves took a sixteen to three lead over the
- 47:21Speaker 1: Titans starting offense and defense in the first quarter sixty
- 47:24Speaker 1: nine yard run by Jack Cardilla Wright just was himself
- 47:28Speaker 1: back from injury. Jenarian Price the rookie first round pick,
- 47:31Speaker 1: bubble Wrap, not playing, not playing Friday in the preseason.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Finally at Kansas City. You aren't going to see him.
- 47:37Speaker 1: His first NFL caerry will be on opening night September
- 47:39Speaker 1: ninth against New England. Matters got smashed by a Bugs
- 47:43Speaker 1: Bunny score for the second time in five days, nineteen
- 47:46Speaker 1: to two, lost to the Cubs. Something's way wrong with
- 47:48Speaker 1: Bryce Miller, including his lat muscle career high seven walks,
- 47:52Speaker 1: only two hits, both home runs, six runs allowed, walk
- 47:55Speaker 1: the bases load and then hit with a lot of
- 47:56Speaker 1: grand slam. Two more position players pitch. That's time in
- 48:00Speaker 1: two weeks that happened.
- 48:02Speaker 5: Man.
- 48:03Speaker 1: But forty seven thousand a yard yesterday, forty five k
- 48:06Speaker 1: and forty five k Friday and Saturday.
- 48:08Speaker 3: The lines were long, my friend.
- 48:10Speaker 1: The business enterprise that is the Mariners rolling. The team
- 48:14Speaker 1: is seven games under five hundred, but the absolute future
- 48:17Speaker 1: dayl West Houston lost again. They are in first place
- 48:20Speaker 1: as a game under five hundred. The trash Cans are
- 48:22Speaker 1: so bad they fired their GM this morning. The Mariners
- 48:26Speaker 1: are three games out at seven games under five hundred.
- 48:29Speaker 1: That's almost parody. Mariners are back home the night start
- 48:32Speaker 1: a series against the Phillies. Great pitching matchup tonight at
- 48:35Speaker 1: the Yard and Soda Logan Gilbert against Zach Wheeler at
- 48:38Speaker 1: six forty first pitch. Saunders Marathon losing streak ended with
- 48:41Speaker 1: a draw at Cincinnati Saturday. Has heard here on KJR
- 48:44Speaker 1: the eight game MLS winning streak. The losing streak, excuse
- 48:48Speaker 1: me was a club record. The storm got blown out
- 48:50Speaker 1: early and often at the Dallas Wings last ninety two
- 48:52Speaker 1: to seventy What is going on? When the forty nine
- 48:55Speaker 1: Ers owner Jed York arrested on suspicion of engaging in
- 48:58Speaker 1: prostitution in East Palacetine, Ohio, near his hometown of Youngstown.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Chargers got down to misdemeanors of disorderly conduct possessing criminal tools.
- 49:06Speaker 1: He paid eleven hundred and fifty dollars in fines, five
- 49:08Speaker 1: thousand dollars bond, one day in court, one day in
- 49:11Speaker 1: jail on each count, and he got credit for time served. Amazing.
- 49:14Speaker 1: How the rich get out of stuff like that? Wait?
- 49:18Speaker 3: Hold on what the foot will get away with stuff?
- 49:22Speaker 1: Greg? Sometimes like all the time?
- 49:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I to get rich. I want to get away
- 49:27Speaker 3: with stuff.
- 49:29Speaker 1: And a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio. It's forty
- 49:33Speaker 1: five minutes from where I grew up. What is an
- 49:35Speaker 1: NFL owner doing? Speaking an NFL owners? On Wednesday in Atlanta,
- 49:39Speaker 1: the NFL owners Jed York apparently since he's out of jail,
- 49:43Speaker 1: will be there to vote on the Seahawks sale to
- 49:45Speaker 1: the Kosla family for nine point six billion dollars a
- 49:48Speaker 1: finance committee recommended last week. The sale be you approved.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Is expected to be approved with at least twenty four
- 49:54Speaker 1: of the thirty two votes yes needed. That's Wednesday in Atlanta,
- 49:57Speaker 1: but the owners won't be officially taken over until the
- 50:00Speaker 1: bank processes the money. That's hoping to be done right
- 50:03Speaker 1: before the opener. Expect a Seahawks press conference introducing the
- 50:07Speaker 1: new owners of the Cozlo family honor about opening daytime.
- 50:10Speaker 1: September ninth. Fish Browns have named Deshaun Watson they're starting quarterback,
- 50:14Speaker 1: despite him ripping on the Cleveland Fans Klay Thompson Go
- 50:18Speaker 1: koog signing a two year, thirteen million dollars to Miami
- 50:20Speaker 1: Keos Let's go college football. The Browns cut Ole Miss
- 50:25Speaker 1: tight end to Kwan Wright from NFL training camp, So
- 50:27Speaker 1: guess what he's doing. He's going back to college football
- 50:29Speaker 1: to play for LSU. Yeah. SEC is mad. The NCAA
- 50:34Speaker 1: is mad doing a judge in Louisiana allowing sixteen players
- 50:40Speaker 1: a temporary restraining order to go play temporary order to
- 50:44Speaker 1: allow sixteen players to have eligibility from a class at
- 50:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty two. The Seahawks have one of those. Anthony Hankerson.
- 50:50Speaker 1: He was running on the field last night in Tennessee.
- 50:52Speaker 1: He's got college eligibility because some magical judge from the
- 50:55Speaker 1: sky just decreed that. Mike McDonald I almost asked McDonald
- 51:00Speaker 1: about that, but I didn't want to do it.
- 51:01Speaker 3: See you a hot dog from heaven? Is that what
- 51:03Speaker 3: we're calling him?
- 51:05Speaker 1: Who's the judge?
- 51:06Speaker 4: Yes, you's a patrical judge from the sky.
- 51:09Speaker 3: And I'm like, ah, we should throw him out at
- 51:11Speaker 3: a Mariner game. See how that goes.
- 51:13Speaker 1: The fans would love that too. Those that don't mind
- 51:16Speaker 1: that the team is under seven games, under five hundred
- 51:19Speaker 1: and playing broken pitchers and six men rotation and throwing
- 51:23Speaker 1: live balls in the stands and all that, Yeah, they
- 51:25Speaker 1: won't care. Mike McDonald last night talked about the Seahawks
- 51:31Speaker 1: first in the micro sense of the three major injuries.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Nothing laughing about there. The players were affected for sure
- 51:37Speaker 1: by Bud Clark's injury, in particular getting carted out with
- 51:39Speaker 1: a broken ankle. Think about this, Jesmin. He not only
- 51:42Speaker 1: breaks his ankle, he's got an air cast. Then he
- 51:44Speaker 1: has to get on a plane and fly four and
- 51:46Speaker 1: a half hours in the middle of the night back
- 51:48Speaker 1: to Seattle. Last time they got any point, that would
- 51:51Speaker 1: could not have been fun.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Sometimes guys aren't allowed to, right, depending on the injury
- 51:57Speaker 4: and if it's immediate surgery. But yeah, right, that's uh, yeah,
- 52:01Speaker 4: that that stinks.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Stinks.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Indications were as of last night that he was going
- 52:06Speaker 1: to go back with the team. I don't know. I
- 52:07Speaker 1: didn't get a word that he was staying here in
- 52:09Speaker 1: Nashville for that broken ankle. Multiple months is what Mike
- 52:13Speaker 1: McDonald's said. For Bud Clark. It could be season ending.
- 52:18Speaker 1: But yeah, I more to say last night the coach did,
- 52:20Speaker 1: including his feelings and the aggregate of how the Seahawks
- 52:24Speaker 1: improved from week two two week from week one, the
- 52:28Speaker 1: preseason last of Dallas. Again, starters not playing, so this
- 52:31Speaker 1: is all about depth and backups. This is Mike McDonald
- 52:34Speaker 1: talking about that last night.
- 52:35Speaker 5: All right. You know, look, we're trying it.
- 52:39Speaker 12: We're trying to win games, and so ultimately the goal
- 52:41Speaker 12: is we fell short in that department, which I actually
- 52:45Speaker 12: think it's gonna it's going to be a really great
- 52:47Speaker 12: opportunity for our team to to learn from this on
- 52:50Speaker 12: how we manage games and the things you need to
- 52:53Speaker 12: be able to do in the second half to to
- 52:54Speaker 12: win football games first first half included. But the bright
- 52:58Speaker 12: side is I really do feel like our our team
- 53:00Speaker 12: got better this week from the work that we got
- 53:02Speaker 12: in practice, and I thought, uh, we did a lot
- 53:05Speaker 12: of great things, especially earlier in this game, which is
- 53:08Speaker 12: what we're looking for. You know, I think we I
- 53:10Speaker 12: think we took a step. I think I think we're improving,
- 53:13Speaker 12: and I think the important thing for our team is
- 53:15Speaker 12: we have to we have to shed an expectation about
- 53:17Speaker 12: where we need to be right now. I think the
- 53:19Speaker 12: focus needs to be about how fast can we improve
- 53:22Speaker 12: on a daily basis, and our guys have had that
- 53:24Speaker 12: attitude and so through that lens, I think, I think
- 53:29Speaker 12: it was a successful week, but ultimately don't want to
- 53:32Speaker 12: be able to win these games. But we definitely made
- 53:34Speaker 12: an improvement from last week. So let's let's keep going.
- 53:38Speaker 8: Mike, what are you about like Clark and Parts?
- 53:41Speaker 12: Yeah, we had a two really tough injuries today. So
- 53:45Speaker 12: Bud has a broken ankle. To my knowledge, severity, I'm
- 53:49Speaker 12: not sure, but he's gonna be out multiple months.
- 53:54Speaker 11: And then.
- 53:56Speaker 12: But we're gonna we're gonna try to figure out what's
- 53:58Speaker 12: going on with Mason, but we will also think that's
- 54:00Speaker 12: a major injury, a long term injury. So two guys
- 54:05Speaker 12: that we we love, that play our style ball, that
- 54:07Speaker 12: are our type of guys. Teammates love them, great teammates,
- 54:11Speaker 12: great guys, great football players, they have great futures. It's
- 54:15Speaker 12: a it's a really it's a heartbreaker. Honestly, we got
- 54:18Speaker 12: three heartbreakers this week, which is what's the stuff?
- 54:23Speaker 1: Is it hard to get when that happens?
- 54:25Speaker 7: You know, they see the going down there cast Matt,
- 54:28Speaker 7: Is it hard to kind of get the team back
- 54:29Speaker 7: into a game in that moment or what's that process?
- 54:32Speaker 5: Like, Uh, yeah, yeah, it's it's it's not easy.
- 54:37Speaker 12: I just I just think, like to see to see
- 54:39Speaker 12: how our team reacted, you know, I think we had
- 54:41Speaker 12: the whole team go out there to say, say, you know,
- 54:43Speaker 12: to give him some love, so I think that that
- 54:46Speaker 12: tells what everybody.
- 54:47Speaker 5: Thinks about him.
- 54:50Speaker 6: Do you a choose to stop him?
- 54:53Speaker 5: I just gave ah at halftime.
- 54:59Speaker 7: With the BA football side that early on, you know
- 55:02Speaker 7: they're playing their starters. You guys are able to jump
- 55:04Speaker 7: out to sixteen three league. What did you like about
- 55:06Speaker 7: just the way you operated on both sides.
- 55:08Speaker 12: Yeah, like the things we said we wanted to improve
- 55:10Speaker 12: on from last from last week. I think we did
- 55:12Speaker 12: those things. So operation wise, just how we get out
- 55:15Speaker 12: of the huddle, how we take the line, how we
- 55:18Speaker 12: you know, all those all those kind of before the
- 55:21Speaker 12: play type of things that we wanted to improve on,
- 55:23Speaker 12: I think I think we did, which is great. We
- 55:26Speaker 12: played physically, I thought, uh, I thought we rushed the
- 55:28Speaker 12: passer really well. It's good to see the run game,
- 55:31Speaker 12: you know, get off a little bit in the first half,
- 55:33Speaker 12: would be great to run it better than the second half.
- 55:37Speaker 12: A lot of good things, a lot of good things.
- 55:40Speaker 8: Drew Locke in particular, he's had a good camp and today.
- 55:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, same thing. I saw the same thing you
- 55:45Speaker 5: did about. He's done a good.
- 55:46Speaker 6: Jobs exactly the way you're gonna from the plays. He
- 55:51Speaker 6: moved some of the gunners went across the field.
- 55:53Speaker 12: Well it's one of the reasons, yeah, for sure, But
- 55:56Speaker 12: I mean I stopped there, you know, But that's that's
- 55:59Speaker 12: really that's the stuff that really popped and gets you
- 56:03Speaker 12: the most excited from his college tape. But in the
- 56:05Speaker 12: return game, you know, like like you know, she should
- 56:09Speaker 12: be trying to be an all pro returner too. He
- 56:10Speaker 12: should be you should think about being a great receiver
- 56:13Speaker 12: in our league as well.
- 56:15Speaker 6: Who mill wrote the second interception Henderson.
- 56:18Speaker 5: Falls down, But yeah, it's.
- 56:23Speaker 12: You know, you say two picks. I don't know, it
- 56:25Speaker 12: sounds a certain way. Let's watch the tape and and
- 56:29Speaker 12: see what we can improve there. But I know he's upset,
- 56:32Speaker 12: he's disappointed, but got a long way to go. Man,
- 56:36Speaker 12: you know he's gotta He's still got opportunity to improve
- 56:38Speaker 12: and take his game ato the level.
- 56:39Speaker 5: So let's go focus on that.
- 56:41Speaker 6: That's two weeks in a row and he's held the
- 56:42Speaker 6: ball for a secon on fourth down. He just wanted
- 56:45Speaker 6: to throw At any coaching.
- 56:46Speaker 12: Point there, well, you don't just you don't want to
- 56:48Speaker 12: be reckless because you don't want to pick a pick six.
- 56:50Speaker 12: But if you have an opportunity, you want to get
- 56:52Speaker 12: you want to be able to give someone an opportunity
- 56:54Speaker 12: to get the first down.
- 56:55Speaker 1: For sure.
- 56:57Speaker 8: About Riney Thomas is I guess what's going on with him?
- 57:01Speaker 5: There isn't before he had a hand surgery.
- 57:04Speaker 12: Yeah, he has a hand and then we'll see, we'll
- 57:05Speaker 12: see if when he's coming back on time.
- 57:08Speaker 5: So that the celebrations kind of that you want to yeah,
- 57:12Speaker 5: is that good?
- 57:12Speaker 12: See Now, I think are our vets deserve a really
- 57:18Speaker 12: big shout out today? They had great energy and it's
- 57:21Speaker 12: one of those deals where you much rather tell him
- 57:23Speaker 12: the woe then go in terms of the excitement and
- 57:28Speaker 12: support for the guys.
- 57:29Speaker 5: So they did.
- 57:31Speaker 12: They did a phenomenal job.
- 57:32Speaker 5: They had great energy. I think.
- 57:33Speaker 12: I think are the guys that played really appreciated it.
- 57:37Speaker 6: Good touchdown and we'll just see when there's flocked out
- 57:39Speaker 6: well just right.
- 57:41Speaker 5: Up the middle of going on touch and yeah, it's
- 57:43Speaker 5: got to be it.
- 57:44Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm sure there's some great things on that play. Honestly,
- 57:46Speaker 12: I just I heard the call and I saw the run.
- 57:48Speaker 12: I don't I don't know all the other things that happened,
- 57:51Speaker 12: but there's got to be some good stuff to go
- 57:52Speaker 12: untouched right down the pipe. So but you gotta be decisive.
- 57:56Speaker 12: You know, you got to hit it, hit in the
- 57:57Speaker 12: A gap and read it out ABC. So, uh, J
- 58:01Speaker 12: Wright did that was cool?
- 58:02Speaker 1: What's he brought to you?
- 58:03Speaker 7: I mean, he had a big preseason last year as well.
- 58:05Speaker 12: What does it kind of bring to your guys team?
- 58:08Speaker 12: I think the things you saw today, you know, I
- 58:11Speaker 12: think he's still coming back a little bit from his
- 58:13Speaker 12: from from his from his injury. But he's been a
- 58:17Speaker 12: great teammate. He's been here the whole time. He works
- 58:19Speaker 12: his tail off. He's got a great opportunity in front
- 58:22Speaker 12: of him. But he's heavier back, you know that back
- 58:25Speaker 12: and run and he's got good hands out of the
- 58:27Speaker 12: backfield too. So that's kind of a cool combination of skills.
- 58:30Speaker 8: With Bud being out for a while, I guess, how
- 58:33Speaker 8: does that change your death to say to hear what
- 58:35Speaker 8: you might have to do with the rest of that.
- 58:36Speaker 12: Yeah, it's gonna we're gonna have to reevaluate what's you know,
- 58:38Speaker 12: where we're at. But you know, we saw some good
- 58:40Speaker 12: things today out of A J and Anthony and so
- 58:45Speaker 12: we'll see, you know, Max I think did some good stuff,
- 58:47Speaker 12: but well, we'll definitely have to evaluate.
- 58:50Speaker 6: Seventeen days with Tylvi opener and big pictures.
- 58:54Speaker 12: Yeah, it's kind of I mean, you know, it's kind
- 58:55Speaker 12: of a funky preseason. You know, it's almost like preseason three,
- 58:59Speaker 12: you know, in terms of the proximity to the last
- 59:01Speaker 12: game or to the first game. So but we're we're
- 59:05Speaker 12: blessed with another week of practice and an opportunity to
- 59:08Speaker 12: play another game. So that's kind of cool too, to
- 59:10Speaker 12: have an opportunity to to improve before you get into
- 59:13Speaker 12: into game mode.
- 59:14Speaker 6: You said better operationally, better on I think you suck.
- 59:17Speaker 6: Is it's safe to say you feel better this week
- 59:19Speaker 6: and did this time last week?
- 59:20Speaker 5: Or where the puckers? Yeah, for sure, for sure, definitely.
- 59:26Speaker 1: That was Mike McDonald with us in his postgame press
- 59:29Speaker 1: conference last night here in Nashville, speaking of the incremental
- 59:32Speaker 1: progress the team has made, the operational getting into a huddle,
- 59:35Speaker 1: they really stress sprinting to the line. They looked a
- 59:39Speaker 1: lot better professionally than the Titans did in that joint
- 59:41Speaker 1: practice in that regard to Titans were kind of wully
- 59:44Speaker 1: gagging around and dragging between plays and then on the field,
- 59:47Speaker 1: feels like temperature of one hundred degrees Friday, the Seahawks
- 59:49Speaker 1: were sprinting to the line. McDonald like that, that's a tone,
- 59:53Speaker 1: that's a feel that he's trying to set for the
- 59:56Speaker 1: regular seadership said, maybe a little bit of that too. Yes.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Another one of the leaders is Jared Reid. He's the
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: defensive tackle in his twelfth season. He plays next to
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: and mentors directly Byron Murphy, and he I talked to
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: him on the field at the edge of the field
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: here in Nashville at the end of the joint practice
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: on Friday.
- 1:00:18Speaker 10: First.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: You're gonna hear him talking about what he thought to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: joint practice was before we get to Murphy.
- 1:00:23Speaker 13: Definitely, Man, we used a few pounds. The pounds it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: lost right here, man, but it's good come down here
- 1:00:29Speaker 13: to the South man, get some good working, working man,
- 1:00:32Speaker 13: you know, fac some adversity with the heat, something that
- 1:00:34Speaker 13: that those guys are accustomed to.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:00:36Speaker 13: But overall, we came out here, man, got some good
- 1:00:39Speaker 13: practice in there.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: What it stood out to you the most today about
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: how your defense played ones versus one probably the only
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: time you'll do it before the real game.
- 1:00:45Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, I think we did a good job.
- 1:00:48Speaker 13: You know, it's still not real football, but you know,
- 1:00:50Speaker 13: it's kind of like real contact. It's nice to get
- 1:00:52Speaker 13: go against somebody else. Man, the whole camp, we even
- 1:00:55Speaker 13: battling against each other. I mean just ups and downs
- 1:00:57Speaker 13: and practice. I mean that's the way it goes. We
- 1:00:59Speaker 13: go check film, and I was trying to get better
- 1:01:01Speaker 13: off of him.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: The only thing that's really real is the line of
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: scrimmage and see plays like days like this. How did
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: that go physicality wise? Do you think for you guys? Oh,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I think we did good.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:01:10Speaker 13: I think you showed pretty much. We did a really
- 1:01:13Speaker 13: good job. But that's that's just you know what we
- 1:01:16Speaker 13: bank ourself.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Someone Jared Reid. I've known him since the Seahawks draft
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: him in twenty sixteen when I was covering him in
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: and he'll talk and give you answers and very cordial.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: But then when you ask him a subject that he
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: really likes, he will go and you know he really
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: likes Byron Murphy. I asked him about the third year
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: pros on the verge of a breakout the first round
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: pick a couple of years ago. They're gonna move him
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: around the defensive line. They're going to give him more
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: pass rush opportunities. They're going to match him up on pigeons,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: as Hugh Millan would call it, some offensive line, and
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: they think Murphy can beat off the snap, which is
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: most of them. He had seven and a half sacks
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: as an interior defensive tackle last year. Jalen Carter just
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: recently got a New Mammoth, richest defensive tackle deal in
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: NFL history, from the Philadelphia Eagles, the same draft class
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: as Byron Murphy. Of course, there was a talk in
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: this town Wilder se Ox draftd Jalen Carter. They did
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: not mand is Jared reed like Byron Murphy. I asked
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: him about Murphy what he sees them. How Murphy has
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: this crazy ability to split double teams by himself by
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: dropping the one knee and then rising up and splitting him.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Jared Reid at the joint practice here in Nashville talking
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: about Byron Murphy.
- 1:02:26Speaker 13: The way he plays the game, period is top tiered
- 1:02:29Speaker 13: to none. I don't think he gets respect he deserves
- 1:02:32Speaker 13: in his league yet.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I don't know why, but guys.
- 1:02:35Speaker 13: Around his league, all the PFF and whoever the what's
- 1:02:39Speaker 13: his name, Adam Shipth in the inside, I just feel
- 1:02:42Speaker 13: like he needs to respect He's definitely top two in
- 1:02:46Speaker 13: my opinion, I'm always boosing my guys. I think him
- 1:02:48Speaker 13: and Lee are two of the best defensive tackles in
- 1:02:50Speaker 13: the league. Man, the way that he plays double teams,
- 1:02:53Speaker 13: the way he goes and rushed the passer. I don't
- 1:02:54Speaker 13: think nobody really looks at it because we're inside. Nobody
- 1:02:58Speaker 13: really understands how hard it is is unless you're playing
- 1:03:01Speaker 13: the game, you know. And just the way he tastes
- 1:03:03Speaker 13: about it. He doesn't complain, he doesn't say anything. He
- 1:03:05Speaker 13: just works, works, work all day, loan Man, and I
- 1:03:09Speaker 13: just keep telling him every time, you know, don't pay
- 1:03:11Speaker 13: attention to it. You know, you can't pay attention to
- 1:03:13Speaker 13: it because all that that's it's a popularity contest, you know,
- 1:03:15Speaker 13: it's all people's opinions, both us in the football world.
- 1:03:18Speaker 13: We know, and he's gonna get what he deserves one
- 1:03:20Speaker 13: day when it could be today, tomorrow, You're from now
- 1:03:23Speaker 13: to you now, whoever knows, you know he gonna get.
- 1:03:25Speaker 13: I think I truly think he's gonna get all the
- 1:03:27Speaker 13: accolades and all the respects, all the respect he deserves.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: Man.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: I just telling him to keep his head down, to
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: keep working. Jar and tell me how difficult it is
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: to drop through a knee and have two three hundred
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: plus pound guys blocking you. Yea, he gets up and splits.
- 1:03:38Speaker 13: Them, So, believe it or not, it kind of makes
- 1:03:41Speaker 13: it easier really when you drop to a knee because
- 1:03:43Speaker 13: you have kind of like more leverage. It's kind of
- 1:03:47Speaker 13: beliversh thing, you know, kind of like wrestling and the
- 1:03:49Speaker 13: lower man wins type or there. So, I mean it
- 1:03:52Speaker 13: just kind of makes it for the OLM for a reason, right,
- 1:03:55Speaker 13: They don't want to go that low. So you know,
- 1:03:57Speaker 13: it's a change up sometimes because a lot of guys
- 1:03:59Speaker 13: I used to bigger guys and you know they could
- 1:04:02Speaker 13: just roll on and stand them up with him, you know,
- 1:04:04Speaker 13: he has this ability to do to drop knee technique
- 1:04:07Speaker 13: and bounce up. I mean that stuff that has been
- 1:04:10Speaker 13: coached for a long time. You really see people use it.
- 1:04:12Speaker 13: But you know he's a dozen in a diamond dominant dozen.
- 1:04:15Speaker 13: If I said it right, you did?
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: What Why is that? Why do Why do coaches coach
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: it but players don't do it?
- 1:04:21Speaker 13: You know, they give you all the type of tools
- 1:04:23Speaker 13: to use and playing there's all different ways to play blocks,
- 1:04:26Speaker 13: you know, and some people taking some people, don't you know.
- 1:04:29Speaker 13: It's all on the player, you know, So that's just
- 1:04:31Speaker 13: it's an instant thing. You can coach it, you can
- 1:04:34Speaker 13: teach it, but the player has to do it so well.
- 1:04:37Speaker 13: It's an instant thing.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Jared Reed, the veteran defensive tackle, one of the souls
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: of the locker room. They're one of the leaders for
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: sure in that Seahawks locker room, talking about Byron Murphy
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: saying he's gonna get his whether it's soon, whether it's
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: next year. He thinks Murphy should be one of the
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: top two paid defensive tackles with Jalen Carter in the NFL.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Mike McDonald says he expects more passpor reduction out of
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Ja out of Byron Murphy, who had seven and a
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: half sacks and not a lot of opportunities. He often
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: came out in third downs. Last year, you may see
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Byron Murphy on the field more in third downs. Remember
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: at the top of the show, I wanted to make
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: sure I follow through with what I promised at the
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: top of the show. Here from Nashville today, we.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Always like that.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Thank you. I saw I said that, I saw the
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: most encouraging thing I saw last night was at the
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: end of Jacarti Wright's sixty nine yard touchdown run when
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: all the Seahawks came running down the field, but all
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: the starters ran half the field from about midfield to
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: the end zone, the end of the back of the
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: end zone. One of them was Zack Sharbonay. He was running,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: oh down the field.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: That is encouraging.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: I did a double take. I said, there's twenty six,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: the guy who had a reconstructive knee surgery in February
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: running into the end zone. How about that. I was
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: very surprised. He kind of stayed on the periphery of
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the celebration so we didn't get into the mess of it.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: But but he ran.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: It wasn't like a time forty type of run, but yeah,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: he ran that.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: I mean, that's encouraging enough for me to know that
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: he could even jog.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: I did notice it. It was very, very noticeable. So
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: there's a good sign. They come to Tennessee and find
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: that Zach Shermany is running, at least jogging in a
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: straight line. Yeah, he's going to start the season on
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: the physically enable to Perform list. I'm almost certain of that.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: Yeah, with knee injuries.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: It's you know, you start with linear and then you
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: go to lateral movements, so he can run in a
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: straight line.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: That's good.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: That is good. What is he six months out of?
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Just over six months out of that surgery. So because
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: he started on the physically enable to perform list at
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: beginning of training camp, he is eligible to be on
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: the pup list to start regular season. That would entail
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: missing at least the first four games, and he wouldn't
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: come against the roster, so the fifty three man roster.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: I think that's what they're going to do on August thirtieth.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I think you're going to see him. Maybe they hope
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: come back to play sometime in October, and even now,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: that would only be less than eight months out from
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: the surgery. Up next coming out text line four nine,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: four to five one, and I hope you have talkbacks.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: I think Marcus, everybuddy has a talkback. At least it
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: will be one to play. I think I can do
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: a redo two and yeah if you see a.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Later one, Oh no, I did I did ye?
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Go the iHeartRadio app or website ninety three kJ R
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: and go the red talkback but at the top and
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: leave a thirty second or shorter voicemail. We'll play the
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: talkbacks back next. Lots of talk about the see lots
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: of opinions about the Mariners on the text line four
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: nine four to five one next Live from Nashville on
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: ninety three point three kJ r F M.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:08:01Speaker 14: So there's many questions surrounding the Mariners. In my opinion,
- 1:08:05Speaker 14: managing is one of them. How he manages the pictures specifically.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: But I have a question about Julio.
- 1:08:13Speaker 14: He stinks he's not hitting, but in addition to not hitting,
- 1:08:18Speaker 14: he's in the fields throwing bolves up into the crowd
- 1:08:21Speaker 14: when he shouldn't be in, causing huge problems with that.
- 1:08:26Speaker 14: It's like, grow up, Julio G Bell.
- 1:08:29Speaker 15: Listen, anybody defending Dobloto At this point, you're about as
- 1:08:33Speaker 15: smart as Dan Wilson. Two playoff appearances in eleven years.
- 1:08:37Speaker 15: Two puppet managers, can't scout offense, can't bring in hitters,
- 1:08:41Speaker 15: free agent.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Sidings are a joke, the babying.
- 1:08:44Speaker 15: The pictures, They can't pitch back to back days, the
- 1:08:48Speaker 15: philosophy of analytics, managing off of a computer, no feel
- 1:08:53Speaker 15: for the game to photo's the problem.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: It starts there as clear as day. I do not
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: argue with that.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: I can send some tension among the fans right now.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: You know it's weird is that the Astros have fired
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: their general manager and now there's a report that they
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: have a Buddy Bob Nightingale we've had on the show
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: multiple times, is reporting that the field manager, Joe Spotta,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: has been informed by a high ranking Astro's official that
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: he will not receive a new contract after this season.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: A Spota was given the option either finish out the
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: season with Houston or leave immediately. He's chosen to remain
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: with the Astros. So the trash cans are cleaning house.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: They're getting rid of the GM and the manager, and
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: they're in first place, and the Mariners are status quo
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: with forty five thousand in the yard and hot dogs
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: from heaven and all of it. While seven games under
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: five hundred and everybody's Garro. Everything's fine.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: You're telling me there's a chance situation, that's what both
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: they're in.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: So you're saying there's a.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Chance because they're three games out, all right, Well, that
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: horse has got glue running out of it and beating
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: it so much. Sorry, Buddy, Marcus had a talkback as well.
- 1:10:14Speaker 16: Yeah, hey, the Mariners will win the World Series. B.
- 1:10:20Speaker 16: I don't watch preseason football, so I can't comment on that.
- 1:10:24Speaker 16: But the main thing I wanted to talk about was
- 1:10:26Speaker 16: Ian said Irish goodbye on Friday. That is not true.
- 1:10:30Speaker 16: Jeremy Jeremy and I came up to him, said by
- 1:10:33Speaker 16: I even offered quote unquote little for nas, one of
- 1:10:38Speaker 16: my growlars I purchased because I bought a box full.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: I know what he's talking about.
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: The mayor of Mapo Valley. I p A released the mayor,
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: I p A. I should say, you got released.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: You're probably there for he was probably there for eight
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: hours or so. Yeah, I mean noon until whenever.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: I was back here in the studio running the show.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: And then I went home, got my husband and drove
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: back down to see Ian down there. So uh, yeah,
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: that was he was still there and there were a
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: lot of I missed Marcus and Jeremy Jeremy. I met
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Jeremy Jeremy at Ian's actual golf tournament that he you know,
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: puts on the Mayor of Maple Valley golf tournament, but.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: I did not actually get to see them before they.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Left, and Ian did say that he did say the
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Irish goodbye, which they did.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: The COVID doats tech sign two six. And I'd still
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: like to know how many listeners got the variety show
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: he Haw reference at the start, I've talked about the
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: great old opera. Yeah, damn the mold, he says. She says,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: that's true. Well, that's true we have.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I don't. I don't know what that is.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Hehaw was a variety show, a country based variety show
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: that had comedy and sket and music. Yeah, and it
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: was aur in Pittsburgh, Steubenville, Wheeling area. It was on
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Saturday evenings in like seven o'clock. But yeah, kind of
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: like Country Saturday Live, not quite as cutting parody. But
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Jeremy four two five is a temporary restraining order from
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: that judge in Louisiana for sixteen players to be able
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: to go from the NFL to college football, apply to
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: basketball as well. No, that was supposed to be a
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: very isolated We'll see what the precedent and then whether
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: other judges and other lawyers will try to exploit that.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: But no, it's right now. It's football. Two five three.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: You talk about leadership with the MS I don't think
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: it's a coincidence. The last two times they made the
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: playoffs it involved a Lanio Suarez. He may not be
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: the answer now, of course he's with the Reds again,
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: but his leadership was unquestionably great. Fired a Poto and
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Wilson now all Caps seven exclamation points. Nick from the
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: two oh six Friend of the Station also as I recall,
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: for all the discomfort of the piggyback in the rotation,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: that combined was good, so Bryce Miller's complaints about need
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: to be put back in his face. Nick also says
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: Dan Wilson looks so unhappy, almost like he might welcome
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: getting let go. But I don't get as the lack
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: of improvement in his handling of pitching. I get making
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: mistakes as a new manager, but I don't see a
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: learning curve being navigated. I also see him following orders
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: from above to a T two o six Greg, this
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: is how the Mariners have been since their inception. They
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: will never in all Caps win, and not until ownership
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: changes and we get someone in there whose only goal
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: is to win. Until that happens, they will always be
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: an afterthought. Fortunately in this town, they are not yet
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: an afterthought. I mean, there are a lot of people upset,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: and you're right, there's some apathy start and said in Jesmin,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: you mentioned that last.
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Week I did, and I mean this weekend when I
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: was there, I really enjoyed it. I had a really
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: great time and shout out to the Mariners for providing
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: a good experience. Yesterday though at ten to two, I
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: was like, when the score was ten, I should say,
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, maybe we should bounce and beat
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: the traffic. I mean that's how I felt.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: You wanted to stay.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: The fan experience, yes, top notch. The business enterprise, rolling
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: the things they do. It's again, it's the car dealership there.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: I keep going back to that, but it's a good analogy.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: The car dealership. The service, the coffee, the donuts, everything's great,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: but the damn cars suck. The whole reason you're in
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: the dealership is to buy a car. The whole reason
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: you're at a baseball game see the team win. At
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: least I think that's why I go. I don't go
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: to see Hey, I'm gonna go to the yard today
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: so I can see the Mariners lose nineteen to two.
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: Well, yeah, and when the opposing team packs the stadium.
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: The way the Cubs fans did it was right worse
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: than Toronto since I have gone to both now seeing
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: both fans descend upon the stadium, damn Chicago.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Two o six as you left out, Jimothy, that's not
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: even two h six from the Mariners or the Seahawks point.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Last night, I thought Vellas Jones Junior looked more exposive
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: than Hallani carrying the ball. Yes, he did, including a
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: twenty four yard run that got called back by Lampei,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: the new fullback, and called for holding. Haven't heard anyone
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: talk about him this morning. Vellas Jones Junior is an
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: option for sure. He's on the practice squad last year,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: so they know him. He has also been hurt for
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: some of this, and he all in training camp. He
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: was also a wide receiver to begin camp. They've had
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: so many injuries at running back they brought him back
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: to be a running back. I think he'll go through
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: waivers and get onto the practice squad myself because he
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: was on the practice squad last year, and I think
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: the Seahawks will surmise they can get him through waivers.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: All right. This has been like four questions on the
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: text line about Tory Horton. I've spent the weekend in
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Nashville trying to find out what's going on with him.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: He was on the sidelines again last night, not in
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: pads with the starters watching. He didn't do much in
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: the joint practice of anything, working through things. It's not
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: related to his surgery. I'm told his surgery that had
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: a rod put in his leg, but he got a
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: news thing. It's a leg issue, but it's not related
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: to the shin. It's not related to the knee and
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: complicated multiple injuries he had that ended his college career
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: at Color out of state, which is why he became
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: a fifth round pick rather than a second or third
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: a couple years ago. So a new leg issue for
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Tory Horton, not one they think is major, but it
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: has kept him off the field for a week plus now.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: That's all I know. Still very vague, but told it
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: was not related to the February surgery to fix his
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: correct shin lock. For Locke has won games as the backup, yes,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: in putting a Monday night game against the defending champion
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Philadelphi Eagles. I was there. I'm aware. Yes, he has
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: one games as a backup three six O a time
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: for a new general manager for the Marriagers. Replaced Justin Hollander.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: What would that do?
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: Not Justin?
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: It says, replaced Justin Hollander.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I know I'm saying not Justin. That is not
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: who needs replacing.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Then we can rid ourselves with Jerry Depoto. The TEXTRA three.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: Six so says I think.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: And I'm a fan of Jerry and I like him
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: very much as a person.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: But Jerry would have to go before Justin.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean if Justin he'll just install the POTO.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: If they fired Justin Hollanders GM, they would just hire
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: another GM that says yes to Jerry to Poto, just
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: like the manager does. It's not a coincidence that both
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: managers that he's hired eleven years to run the Mariners
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: have zero managerial experience before they did it. He says
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: yes to analytics and iPad Ball. The mayor and Maple Valley,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: fresh off of his unleashing his new branding of his
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: mayor IPA, will join us to talk about what's on
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: his show. I get a chance to talk to about
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: how that event went Friday across the country. We'll continue
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: live here from Nashville in ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: Welcome back guy from Nashville, Greg Bell, the News Tribune
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: and Jasman McIntyre Beck and our Elliott Bay Studios in Seattle.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: We're here on ninety three point three KJRFM every ten
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: am to noon every weekday. If you missed our deep
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: dive discussion on the Seahawks second preseason game and where
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: the third quarterback situation start is, where the running back
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: situation is Jalen Milroe struggles, go to iHeartRadio's app. iHeartRadio
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: app is free. Go to nine through three KJR or
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: our website nine through three KJR dot dot com to
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: the Greg Bell Show on the left hand side or
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: podcast page, or you can go to Thenewstribute dot com.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: I wrote all about it, posted videos about it from
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: the stadium last night here in Nashville. Back home. I
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: missed all kinds of stuff the past weekend, including the
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Mayor's release of the Mayor's IPA. The mayor, Maple Valley
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: and Forness had a big event Friday. You heard it
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: on KJR his show emanating from down in Georgetown Brewery,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: and I missed it. I missed the whole thing because
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: of hearing Nashville. It was a rollicking time.
- 1:19:01Speaker 11: We had a good time. For Yeah, we had a
- 1:19:02Speaker 11: good time. It was incredible. I would just always say
- 1:19:06Speaker 11: it was. It's kind of just an inspirational day, like
- 1:19:09Speaker 11: we just it's cool to see people come out support
- 1:19:13Speaker 11: the cause. You know, we live in a world where
- 1:19:17Speaker 11: there's a lot of there's a lot of conflict, a
- 1:19:20Speaker 11: lot of divisiveness, a lot of yelling and screaming back
- 1:19:23Speaker 11: and forth. And I think Manny Chow said it best
- 1:19:28Speaker 11: on Friday that you know, one thing we can all
- 1:19:30Speaker 11: agree upon is a drinking beer for a good cause
- 1:19:34Speaker 11: is a good thing. And we have actually three good causes.
- 1:19:37Speaker 11: So it was it was a great day.
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: We I got it.
- 1:19:39Speaker 11: I'm waiting at an update from those guys to find
- 1:19:41Speaker 11: out where we're at in terms of sales, but uh, yeah, man,
- 1:19:44Speaker 11: it was it was all It was all good. I
- 1:19:46Speaker 11: can tell you that for sure.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: So very good day. That's the thing. You're not just
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: doing it to yuck it up with the guys at
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: the bar.
- 1:19:51Speaker 11: It's benefiting yeah, yeah people that Yeah, the Lensky's Hope,
- 1:19:56Speaker 11: Jordan Moore's Foundation, Avery Huffman DPG. I mean they're all
- 1:19:58Speaker 11: just great causes, grassroots in a sense compared to like
- 1:20:02Speaker 11: some you know, they're not the biggest foundations by any means.
- 1:20:05Speaker 11: Jordan's especially a small, Helensky's has grown a little bit,
- 1:20:08Speaker 11: you know, Brandon's done a great job with Avery Huffman.
- 1:20:11Speaker 11: But yeah, they're all ones that you know, every dollar
- 1:20:13Speaker 11: we give those three each Foundations from both the golf
- 1:20:17Speaker 11: tournament in July and what we did on Friday, it
- 1:20:20Speaker 11: means something to them. They are able that there's a
- 1:20:23Speaker 11: tangible benefit to every pint sold, or every golf ball hit,
- 1:20:29Speaker 11: or every hat or T shirt bot or whatever it
- 1:20:31Speaker 11: would be. There's a tangible outcome that's positive. And that's
- 1:20:36Speaker 11: just what's really cool about it, really cool about it.
- 1:20:38Speaker 11: And I just like, I just can't think Georgetown enough.
- 1:20:41Speaker 11: I mean, that's they donate the beer and the labor
- 1:20:44Speaker 11: and the hard loss and the hops. Hops aren't cheap,
- 1:20:47Speaker 11: you know, things like that. I just can't thank those
- 1:20:50Speaker 11: guys enough for what they do. But you know, it
- 1:20:53Speaker 11: was a really fun day, really really fun day, and
- 1:20:55Speaker 11: it was it always is kind of one of my
- 1:20:57Speaker 11: favorite days of the year. And we had a good time.
- 1:20:59Speaker 11: On Friday. Jess made her way down there late got there.
- 1:21:02Speaker 11: We all had to wait for Jess to get there.
- 1:21:04Speaker 11: I was done, I'll be honest with you, I was done,
- 1:21:08Speaker 11: but we waited. Jess came down, Andrews came down, so
- 1:21:11Speaker 11: it was great to have them pop down during the day.
- 1:21:13Speaker 11: So yeah, it was a really really fun day. Beer
- 1:21:16Speaker 11: still available. I would go get it while you can't.
- 1:21:18Speaker 11: I don't think it's going to last through next weekend.
- 1:21:21Speaker 11: And like I said, I'm gonna get an update here
- 1:21:22Speaker 11: in a little bit about where we're at, but I
- 1:21:24Speaker 11: don't think it'll last through next weekend.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: And Mike really liked the merch.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: He was a big fan of those T shirts and
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: yeah he got one.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: He goes, why didn't I get three? This T shirt's amazing.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: So if you guys see their merch store while you're
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: down there.
- 1:21:37Speaker 11: I gotta check that out too, because I know the
- 1:21:39Speaker 11: T shirts went really fast. The hats was a handful
- 1:21:41Speaker 11: of hats left. But yeah, really good time. We missed you,
- 1:21:44Speaker 11: great time, George. I did miss Sorry, I missed you.
- 1:21:47Speaker 11: What times George? I'm brewery closed? I think they're open
- 1:21:50Speaker 11: ten to eight or ten to nine something like that.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: So yeah, I might try to stop on my way
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: home from.
- 1:21:55Speaker 11: The airport, grab a growler, Grab a growler, Togo.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, I know it's Molly WoT Monday. Yeah, I
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: can't imagine you have anything to talk about.
- 1:22:03Speaker 11: What a weird weekend was just there like it was
- 1:22:07Speaker 11: mixed you know what, And I'm gonna bring this up.
- 1:22:10Speaker 11: It's very much what the Seahawks just went through. There
- 1:22:13Speaker 11: was good and there was bad, Like it just mixed results, right,
- 1:22:17Speaker 11: it was, you know, and that's kind of that was
- 1:22:19Speaker 11: the weekend in a nutshell. But yeah, we'll have plenty
- 1:22:22Speaker 11: of discs well of those guys on it one. He
- 1:22:24Speaker 11: was going to join us at twelve twenty four hardcore
- 1:22:27Speaker 11: football preseason style and get his thoughts on Jalen Milroll specifically.
- 1:22:31Speaker 11: But yeah, way we'll go be fun.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: How big a deal? Back there was Brendan Donovan getting
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: drilled in the head in batting practice and going on
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: the disabled.
- 1:22:40Speaker 11: I say it flew under the radar because of Kate
- 1:22:42Speaker 11: Anderson and Randyo Rose Arena and this is not I
- 1:22:47Speaker 11: guess maybe it's a shot, but freak accident stuff happens, right,
- 1:22:51Speaker 11: That's what happens with things. They just stuff happens, but
- 1:22:54Speaker 11: it's Brendan Donovan's hurt again, Water's wet, sun's hot, like whatever.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Right, I read where it happened fifteen minutes before first pitch?
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: How can that be?
- 1:23:02Speaker 11: Boy, he's in the back cages right underneath.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: Oh he's indoors, indoors. Okay, Yeah, I was trying to
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: imagine what's the cage doing up fifteen minutes before first pitch?
- 1:23:09Speaker 11: Yeah, so that's it's just it's it's a lot. He's
- 1:23:12Speaker 11: just had an unlucky year. I'd say for him, you know,
- 1:23:15Speaker 11: if I want to defend him for a second, I say,
- 1:23:16Speaker 11: he's had an unlucky year. But uh, but yeah, it happens.
- 1:23:21Speaker 11: Ware we go, Ware, we go. You know, baseball in
- 1:23:25Speaker 11: a nutshell, right right?
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: Exactly ends up next Molly Wopping on the Mariners, Hugh
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Millan talk about this Aaron's second or seahawks second preseason game.

- 1:23:39Speaker 1: to get to Seattle. I'll be back in renting tomorrow
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: at Seahawks preseason practice. They've got three and then they
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: go back to Kansas City for the final preseason game
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: on Friday. Jessen McIntyre. Thank you. Back in Seattle, Greg
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: Bell and Jesson and McIntyre will be with you tomorrow
