- 0:00Speaker 1: You know what we were talking earlier about the constitution.
- 0:06Speaker 1: We were talking about our president possibly trying to seek
- 0:12Speaker 1: a third term, and the question arose, isn't that against
- 0:17Speaker 1: the constitution? Excuse me? You know I didn't vote for
- 0:23Speaker 1: Donald Trump, but I've been sitting here hoping that he
- 0:28Speaker 1: gets some things right, because that is the plight we are.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We are resigned to this for four years. So I
- 0:37Speaker 1: am hoping that he gets some things right. Now. He's
- 0:40Speaker 1: done some things that has been right. He's done some
- 0:44Speaker 1: things that's been right past, some policies that's been right.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The bathrooms, he straightened that situation out. I happen to
- 0:53Speaker 1: agree with not allowing transgender men to participate in female sports.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I happen to agree with that. You know, it's just
- 1:02Speaker 1: not it's not it's not fair, it's not right. It's
- 1:07Speaker 1: just a matter of fairness. So it's a couple of
- 1:11Speaker 1: things he's done that he's gotten right. I'm also looking
- 1:15Speaker 1: at the things that are going horribly wrong. And even
- 1:22Speaker 1: though we have different views and different takes on this show,
- 1:27Speaker 1: the question was posed this morning, could he seek a
- 1:30Speaker 1: third term? Is that constitutional? And it just laid me
- 1:35Speaker 1: down a path man about our Constitution. You know, I
- 1:39Speaker 1: wish that this Constitution would be upheld to the letter.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It would be okay, it needs amending, like I think
- 1:48Speaker 1: the Second Amendment needs amending personally, that everybody should not
- 1:54Speaker 1: have the right to bear arms. Why because we leave
- 1:59Speaker 1: the worlds we lead the world in gun violence. We
- 2:06Speaker 1: need some laws about these guns. We lead the world
- 2:13Speaker 1: in school shootings, mall shootings, church shootings, mass moss shootings,
- 2:18Speaker 1: and temple shootings. We lead the world in that we
- 2:23Speaker 1: lead the world in gun shot victims of civilians. These
- 2:28Speaker 1: are not people that war in the army. We lead
- 2:30Speaker 1: the world in that we lead the world in incarcerated people.
- 2:36Speaker 1: We who are supposed to be the most powerful free nation.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I wish that everybody had their inalible right to the
- 2:46Speaker 1: pursuit of happiness. I wish that every American was afforded
- 2:51Speaker 1: the rights that are supposed to be afforded to Americans.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But it's not the case. It has never been the
- 2:58Speaker 1: case for us, and I don't see it becoming the
- 3:02Speaker 1: case for us. This is alarming, man, that we are
- 3:06Speaker 1: still fighting for civil rights. Do you understand what civil
- 3:10Speaker 1: rights means? All we're asking is that we have the
- 3:13Speaker 1: right to be treated civil. That's a simple request. Why
- 3:19Speaker 1: is it up for vote? Why is it being rescinded?
- 3:24Speaker 1: We are not asking to be treated special or better,
- 3:28Speaker 1: just civil. We want civil rights. Why we can't get
- 3:34Speaker 1: that it's in the constitution. But it's in the constitution
- 3:39Speaker 1: for who Do we have the available right to the
- 3:42Speaker 1: pursuit of happiness? Can we live anywhere we want to live? No,
- 3:48Speaker 1: not without some type of pushback. I'm facing that now.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm facing pushback on a place I live in. To
- 4:00Speaker 1: dude who built a house that I live here, he
- 4:03Speaker 1: had pushback on even purchasing the land. I'm just telling you, man,
- 4:10Speaker 1: we are constantly fighting for basic things, just basic things
- 4:15Speaker 1: that other humans get to have and walk around and do.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I constantly have had to talk to my three sons
- 4:24Speaker 1: about how to act when the police pull them over.
- 4:28Speaker 1: When I watch live police video cams and I watch
- 4:31Speaker 1: white boys and men get pulled over and talk to
- 4:35Speaker 1: the police so disrespectful, and nothing happens. I'm watching this
- 4:42Speaker 1: same show, going what would happen if a black person
- 4:46Speaker 1: talk back to a police officer like this, Get your
- 4:49Speaker 1: hands off me. I'm not giving you nothing because I've
- 4:53Speaker 1: seen it go badly for them, for far less. I
- 4:57Speaker 1: watched George Floyd get murdered for less for not not complying,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but for simply complying and asking the man to get
- 5:10Speaker 1: your knee off my neck so I can breathe. Y'all
- 5:13Speaker 1: saw it. So this constitution that y'all keep waving, this
- 5:18Speaker 1: great piece of paper that was written by your forefathers,
- 5:22Speaker 1: who I must remind you were enslavers. You operating on
- 5:29Speaker 1: a piece of paper people, written by people who own people.
- 5:34Speaker 1: How could this piece of paper be that important? Y'all
- 5:39Speaker 1: get to live under that and we just under it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's what the constitution is for us. So are you
- 5:51Speaker 1: own us to feel? But if it were happening to you,
- 5:55Speaker 1: how would you feel? Or does that you ever take
- 5:58Speaker 1: that into consideration? Those are my closing remarks that probably
- 6:03Speaker 1: didn't help nobody today, accept me. So thank you to
- 6:07Speaker 1: me for just saying what you wanted to say today.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Have a great day, y'all. Talk to God. He'd love
- 6:12Speaker 1: to hear from you. For all Steve Harvey contests no
