Latest / Bleacher Report / Micah Parsons DEFENDS Marvin Harrison Jr., Questions Cardinals After Texans Trade
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: My problem with Marvin Harrison is if I'm drafting a
- 0:03Speaker 1: guy that early, I'm like, he is my franchise player.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Gotta be the guy.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Across the four games he played this year, he had
- 0:13Speaker 1: 13 total targets. Malik Navers off ACL and week five
- 0:21Speaker 1: this year had 20 targets.
- 0:23Speaker 2: 20 targets.
- 0:24Speaker 1: In one game, he had more targets than Marvin Harrison.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I'm not saying That, you know, the Arizona is poorly coached.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like, this is just malpractice. Because I'm
- 0:38Speaker 1: not saying, like, his game don't translate. And Trey McBride, like,
- 0:42Speaker 1: look at this. Like, Trey McBride, he's averaging 11, over
- 0:45Speaker 1: 11 targets a game. And he should. He's probably the
- 0:48Speaker 1: best side in the league right now. Why receivers are
- 0:51Speaker 1: very Madonna-like? If I'm not getting the ball, I'm grumpy,
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm running lazy. That's just who they are, and you
- 0:57Speaker 1: see that across the league. So it's not just Marvin, oh,
- 1:00Speaker 1: he's running terrible rides. He's not seeing the ball. He's
- 1:03Speaker 1: out there running cardio. No, I do have a question.
- 1:07Speaker 2: This is across two different offensive coaching staffs now where
- 1:10Speaker 2: he hasn't been getting targets. Do you think it's like, hey,
- 1:15Speaker 2: maybe he's just not good enough to earn these targets?
- 1:17Speaker 1: No.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Is that what it is?
- 1:19Speaker 1: If I'm taking guy number four overall, he has to
- 1:23Speaker 1: be good enough to get ten targets a game.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I think some of the same questions that came out
- 1:29Speaker 2: about him in the pre-draft process, people talked about his
- 1:33Speaker 2: inability to separate. I think Marvin Harrison is great. I
- 1:36Speaker 2: thought he was great in college. I'm just not sure
- 1:38Speaker 2: if he has it at the NFL level.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Where he's exceptionally well, he doesn't receive the ball.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Where is that?
- 1:46Speaker 1: In the red zone. Red zone, one-on-one, deep threat, however
- 1:50Speaker 1: you like to put it. They got him running across
- 1:53Speaker 1: the middle. That's never been his game. Even at Ohio State. Like,
- 1:58Speaker 1: are we watching the same film? He has elite toe-tap balance.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Body control, his body control's right. Body control, tracking, in
- 2:07Speaker 1: the air. Like, that's where he's at his best. And
- 2:10Speaker 1: when he's gotten the ball, he's succeeded at that.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But.
- 2:14Speaker 1: He's never been a, oh, let me just throw him.
- 2:17Speaker 1: He's never been a T.O., Michael Irvin. Like, let me
- 2:19Speaker 1: just throw him across the middle. He's never been that.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he's not going to do that. And we got
- 2:24Speaker 2: four games played, five receptions, 85 yards. That's dangerously low.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I think Trey McBride has called more passes in every
- 2:32Speaker 2: single game than his 2026.
- 2:35Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Like, at least start off. Let's
- 2:38Speaker 1: throw him some screens. Like, let's get him involved early.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Some comebacks, like. let's try to not force feed him
- 2:45Speaker 1: but like he needs the like he needs opportunity he
- 2:49Speaker 1: needs it he at least gotta show us he's not
- 2:51Speaker 1: good enough and i'm you know i'm happy he's with
- 2:53Speaker 1: the texans where you know he's gonna be able to
- 2:56Speaker 1: the cj heart marvin harrison connection i'm excited for that
- 3:01Speaker 1: is this is this gonna be his opportunity right here
- 3:02Speaker 1: i know it has to be if it doesn't work
- 3:05Speaker 1: here what are we gonna say then It just, it's
- 3:07Speaker 1: probably him. He needs accountability.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Because he's not going to be the number one guy.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You got Nico.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You got some solid other pieces. You know what I'm saying?
- 3:18Speaker 2: We got a lot of that. But when we talk about,
- 3:21Speaker 2: we talk about these guys, these early draft picks that
- 3:23Speaker 2: got traded. In the last 10 years, only four other
- 3:26Speaker 2: top five draft picks have been traded. Those guys are
- 3:29Speaker 2: Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Jeff Okuda, Sam Donald, and then
- 3:35Speaker 2: Marvin Harrison. What do you think about that? Because only
- 3:41Speaker 2: one of those guys has really been able to turn
- 3:43Speaker 2: around since the trade.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I believe in Mark, man.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I truly do.
