- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from Midtown Manhattan, here comes the Mark Simone Show
- 0:05Speaker 1: on 710WOR. Hey, well, it's Wednesday.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's six days until the election. Is it six?
- 0:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Six days until the election. In Israel, the election took
- 0:21Speaker 2: place yesterday. Still don't have a result, but hang on
- 0:24Speaker 2: one second. This is a text from... The Netanyahu people,
- 0:29Speaker 2: let me see here. They've got 78% of the vote counted.
- 0:35Speaker 2: And they've got the Netanyahu party, the Likud, at 27.
- 0:38Speaker 2: The Yashari at 22. Together at 12. So Netanyahu is
- 0:41Speaker 2: in the lead at this point. 78% of the vote counted.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Still too soon to call. This could be like California.
- 0:59Speaker 2: When I say the election is six days from now,
- 1:01Speaker 2: you won't get the California results or several states won't
- 1:04Speaker 2: give you the results for days. But it looks a
- 1:08Speaker 2: little better for Netanyahu. But we'll have to wait and see.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I may have a result for you later today. Hey,
- 1:16Speaker 2: we've got a lot to get to. We'll get to
- 1:18Speaker 2: this congestion pricing is going to become a nightmare. And
- 1:23Speaker 2: there's more coming along those lines. But we'll get to that.
- 1:25Speaker 2: President Trump keeping up a brutal schedule, just crisscrossing the country,
- 1:31Speaker 2: campaigning all over the place. Every afternoon, he jumps on
- 1:34Speaker 2: Air Force One, heads out to another state. Yesterday, it
- 1:38Speaker 2: was Texas, a couple of stops in Texas. He gets
- 1:41Speaker 2: back to the White House about midnight. And then when
- 1:45Speaker 2: he gets back to the White House, he does what
- 1:46Speaker 2: they call a gaggle, which is a spontaneous press conference.
- 1:50Speaker 2: He stops and does a little mini press conference. That
- 1:54Speaker 2: goes until about 1 o'clock. So he does this every night.
- 1:57Speaker 2: He gets home about 1 a.m. into the residence and
- 2:01Speaker 2: is up 6 a.m. working by 7, yelling and screaming
- 2:06Speaker 2: at people, calling people, watching everything, texting people like crazy.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But it's a brutal schedule. Yesterday in Texas, now this
- 2:15Speaker 2: is a good idea. Remember, Texas is a border state.
- 2:17Speaker 2: With all the problems we have with the illegals pouring
- 2:20Speaker 2: in and the crime and the drugs and It's much
- 2:23Speaker 2: worse in Texas where they're right on the border. He
- 2:26Speaker 2: wants to propose legislation. If he gets Congress, pass a
- 2:31Speaker 2: bill that the border can never, ever be opened again.
- 2:34Speaker 4: We will pass the no invasion of our country act,
- 2:38Speaker 4: prohibiting any future president from ever opening our borders to
- 2:42Speaker 4: illegal immigrants again. It's never going to happen to you again. Texas,
- 2:47Speaker 4: it will never happen to you again what happened to you.
- 2:51Speaker 4: That was an invasion of our country. That was a
- 2:54Speaker 4: military invasion.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's a great idea. Democrats could take power one day
- 3:00Speaker 2: and just undo that bill, that kind of stuff that
- 3:03Speaker 2: they do. Anyway, when he landed, talking about a lot
- 3:07Speaker 2: of stuff, James Comey, more indictments. This time I think
- 3:11Speaker 2: they really got him because this story's been around for
- 3:14Speaker 2: a while, how he had a friend in New York,
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think it was a professor at Columbia, who he
- 3:19Speaker 2: would leak stuff to. And then that guy would leak
- 3:22Speaker 2: it to the New York Times. And the story was
- 3:23Speaker 2: that then Comey could say, I never talked to the
- 3:26Speaker 2: New York Times. I had nothing to do with the
- 3:28Speaker 2: New York Times. But they seem to have gotten what
- 3:31Speaker 2: they think is a lot of evidence proving the case.
- 3:35Speaker 2: So in that gaggle yesterday, Trump asked about Comey.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Well, I think he's a dirty cop, James Comey, but
- 3:40Speaker 4: I know nothing about it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: He's a dirty cop, but I know nothing about what's
- 3:44Speaker 2: going on. Well, I'm sure he knows something about it, but...
- 3:49Speaker 2: You know, they always give you this, the Justice Department
- 3:51Speaker 2: is supposed to be totally independent. No, it's not. It's
- 3:56Speaker 2: absolutely not supposed to be totally independent. There's a reason
- 3:59Speaker 2: they put it in the executive branch. And the president
- 4:04Speaker 2: is in total control of the Justice Department. The Justice
- 4:08Speaker 2: Department is directed by the president of the United States,
- 4:13Speaker 2: as is all the cabinet departments. It's not totally independent.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It's never supposed to be. Totally independent. Hey, you got
- 4:23Speaker 2: this congestion pricing. It is driving people crazy. This congestion pricing.
- 4:29Speaker 2: You know, they always talk about diesel prices or gas prices.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And that can affect a lot of things because everything
- 4:36Speaker 2: in every store, everything you buy in every store, grocery store,
- 4:40Speaker 2: drug store, everything is delivered by truck. And if the
- 4:43Speaker 2: trucks run on diesel fuel, if diesel fuel costs go up,
- 4:47Speaker 2: They got to pass that along. So it raises the
- 4:49Speaker 2: cost of every item. But the same exact thing happens
- 4:52Speaker 2: with congestion pricing. Every delivery into every store comes by truck.
- 5:00Speaker 2: If you have congestion pricing on trucks is huge. You know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: store owners are telling me there are vendors now that
- 5:08Speaker 2: are in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, don't want to come
- 5:10Speaker 2: into Manhattan. They don't want to pay the congestion pricing.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's a big problem. Huge problem. And Bruce Blakeman on
- 5:17Speaker 2: the campaign trail has pointed out that the Hochul plan
- 5:23Speaker 2: is if, God forbid, she wins re-election, congestion pricing will spread.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Right now it's in Manhattan, but it'll be coming to
- 5:34Speaker 2: Brooklyn and to Queens and to all sorts of places.
- 5:37Speaker 2: We had a lot of listeners all over New York State.
- 5:39Speaker 2: It'll be coming to Albany. It'll be coming to Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It will spend Spread. Blakeman says that if he's elected,
- 5:49Speaker 2: the next day congestion pricing will be gone.
- 5:52Speaker 5: She's collecting $ 9 per car just for the privilege of
- 5:57Speaker 5: driving on this public road that the taxpayers have already
- 6:01Speaker 5: paid for. It's nothing more than a tax on the
- 6:04Speaker 5: middle class.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It is a ridiculous tax, $ 9 a car. Now, to
- 6:09Speaker 2: get here, if you're coming from New Jersey or you're
- 6:12Speaker 2: coming from Westchester, You got to pay a 10, 12,
- 6:15Speaker 2: $ 15 toll just to get in here. Then it's another $ 9.
- 6:19Speaker 2: If you want to actually drive on the street here,
- 6:22Speaker 2: it's ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. You know, if you get in
- 6:25Speaker 2: your car, you have any taxes you've already paid, you
- 6:28Speaker 2: don't need taxes. You're paying, you paid a tax on
- 6:30Speaker 2: your car and your gas. You want to park in
- 6:33Speaker 2: a garage. You're paying a parking tax. You're paying taxes
- 6:36Speaker 2: left and right. Now on top of that, a driving tax.
- 6:39Speaker 2: It's absolutely idiotic. Uh, It supposedly is to fund the MTA.
- 6:46Speaker 2: The MTA budget should be slashed in half. It's double,
- 6:49Speaker 2: triple what it should be. It's all waste and fraud
- 6:52Speaker 2: and bloat. Listen to Hochul.
- 6:53Speaker 6: He must like a lot of traffic, higher accidents, slower
- 6:57Speaker 6: response time, less money to fund the MTA and Long
- 7:01Speaker 6: Island Railroad, and not really care about congestion.
- 7:05Speaker 2: If you were worried about the MTA, you wouldn't let
- 7:06Speaker 2: him waste 80% of their budget. Less traffic. Look out
- 7:12Speaker 2: the window. You see any less traffic out there? Traffic
- 7:14Speaker 2: has not changed one bit. I know they'll give you
- 7:17Speaker 2: some study about something. Just look out the window. Traffic
- 7:20Speaker 2: has not changed one bit. Come into Manhattan, try to
- 7:24Speaker 2: drive from 57th East to West or West to East.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Try to drive down Park Avenue in Midtown. It hasn't
- 7:31Speaker 2: changed one bit. It's absolutely ridiculous. Now, I've got some
- 7:38Speaker 2: really bad news if you're a driver. It's going to
- 7:42Speaker 2: get worse. Mamdani and the city council are plotting to
- 7:46Speaker 2: take over the streets, take them away from cars. They
- 7:49Speaker 2: want to make them, they're calling it low traffic zones.
- 7:55Speaker 2: They want to get the cars off of a lot
- 7:57Speaker 2: of streets. Now, how would they do that? Well, they're
- 8:00Speaker 2: going to expand the sidewalks out so you'll lose lanes.
- 8:05Speaker 2: It's an absolutely ridiculous idea. There's already a plan for
- 8:09Speaker 2: Park Avenue. You've seen the, go online, you can see
- 8:11Speaker 2: the drawings. It reduces Park Avenue like one lane each direction,
- 8:16Speaker 2: which is insane. It's already gridlocked. It's already gridlocked. Then
- 8:21Speaker 2: they want to put in speed bumps everywhere. Speed bumps,
- 8:26Speaker 2: which is the most annoying thing in the world out
- 8:28Speaker 2: in the suburbs or somewhere. There's one on 56th Street already,
- 8:32Speaker 2: but speed bumps everywhere. And they're going to do all
- 8:36Speaker 2: sorts of stuff like that to just make them, now
- 8:39Speaker 2: they're claiming, If you live in the neighborhood or if
- 8:43Speaker 2: you have a store, you'll still be able to have
- 8:45Speaker 2: a car come right to your door. But other cars
- 8:48Speaker 2: won't use it as a way to pass through your neighborhood.
- 8:53Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous. The city council is in
- 8:57Speaker 2: on this. Mamdani is in on this. This is going
- 9:00Speaker 2: to be a nightmare if it happens. That's one reason
- 9:03Speaker 2: you've got to get rid of these people. Now, the
- 9:05Speaker 2: other thing is, if you think it's a problem as
- 9:08Speaker 2: far as affordability goes, If you think crimes, you know,
- 9:12Speaker 2: for Democrats to campaign on affordability in New York is unbelievable.
- 9:17Speaker 2: The Democrats have controlled every inch of New York for
- 9:20Speaker 2: 15 years. Democrat mayor, Democrat city council, Democrat governor, Democrat legislature,
- 9:28Speaker 2: all the district attorneys, everything is run by Democrats. So
- 9:33Speaker 2: this affordability crisis, it's all on them. It's absolutely their fault.
- 9:39Speaker 2: If there's a crime problem, it's absolutely their fault. So
- 9:43Speaker 2: you got to change parties. You got to get rid
- 9:46Speaker 2: of them. You see this FBI agent broke down and cried.
- 9:49Speaker 2: She's one of two FBI agents that are now going
- 9:52Speaker 2: to be indicted for lying to Congress about the Hunter
- 9:57Speaker 2: Biden laptop. This is during the Comey-Christopher. Wray era of
- 10:02Speaker 2: total dirty cops and bad sleazy stuff going on at
- 10:05Speaker 2: the FBI covering up that Hunter Biden laptop. It was
- 10:09Speaker 2: clearly the Hunter Biden laptop. You can see in store
- 10:14Speaker 2: on the surveillance video, you can see Hunter Biden bring
- 10:17Speaker 2: in the laptop, bring it to the guy, hand it
- 10:19Speaker 2: to him to have it repaired, signs a receipt. He
- 10:22Speaker 2: signed it. It's his laptop. There's no doubt about it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Then the FBI and Biden go into all sorts of contortions,
- 10:31Speaker 2: try to convince you it's not, it's a fake, it's
- 10:33Speaker 2: Russian disinformation. You remember in the debate, Biden produced a
- 10:37Speaker 2: letter signed by 51 former CIA intelligence. It's definitely Russian intelligence.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's absolutely ridiculous. It's, Hunter Biden's laptop. We know that
- 10:48Speaker 2: for a fact. And it turns out that way back
- 10:52Speaker 2: when the FBI had the hard drive, they had everything.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They absolutely knew it was Hunter Biden's laptop, still engaged
- 10:59Speaker 2: in this cover-up. So these two agents testifying before Congress
- 11:04Speaker 2: when there were hearings and lied. They said, well, we
- 11:07Speaker 2: never heard anything about it. We heard it was disinformation. Otherwise,
- 11:11Speaker 2: we had no conversation about it. We hadn't We didn't
- 11:14Speaker 2: know anything about that. Well, then they get their texts
- 11:16Speaker 2: and all their communications. They found out they knew everything
- 11:20Speaker 2: about it. They were talking about it. They were in
- 11:22Speaker 2: on this cover. So they've indicted these two for lying
- 11:25Speaker 2: to Congress. And then the woman, one of them, broke
- 11:28Speaker 2: down and cried at the courthouse yesterday. Now, the reason
- 11:32Speaker 2: she's crying is it looks like they got her, absolutely
- 11:36Speaker 2: got her. And she's facing five years in jail as
- 11:39Speaker 2: a result. I mean, the lying is pretty blatant, pretty obvious.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Looks like they got the evidence, so it's not good. Hey,
- 11:50Speaker 2: speaking of Israel, the latest is Netanyahu looks like he's
- 11:53Speaker 2: pulling in front just a bit. Hochul, Kathy Hochul, said
- 11:59Speaker 2: her job would be a lot easier if Netanyahu loses.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I don't know what that means. Why would it be
- 12:05Speaker 2: a lot easier? The opponent, the difference is Netanyahu wants
- 12:10Speaker 2: to go into Iran and finish it off The opponent
- 12:15Speaker 2: thinks you got to put economic pressure on Iran. He
- 12:17Speaker 2: doesn't believe regime change would ever be possible. So he's
- 12:21Speaker 2: against that. But when it comes to Gaza, Hamas and
- 12:27Speaker 2: their Holocaust that they tried on the Israeli people, both
- 12:31Speaker 2: Netanyahu and his opponent are in total agreement. In fact,
- 12:34Speaker 2: the opponent was head of the Israeli Defense Forces. So
- 12:38Speaker 2: they're both for protection of Israel against Hamas and all
- 12:42Speaker 2: of that. But Hochul, Hochul said she would be happy
- 12:48Speaker 2: if Netanyahu loses. She says, I went to Israel right
- 12:51Speaker 2: after October 7th. I saw a lot of pain there.
- 12:54Speaker 2: But I cautioned the government there in private conversations not
- 12:58Speaker 2: to overreach. Can you imagine this? These Israeli leaders have
- 13:02Speaker 2: been living this nightmare over there for 50 years. And
- 13:06Speaker 2: you got this Yenta from Buffalo lecturing them. The world
- 13:10Speaker 2: is with you when it comes to the brutal assault
- 13:13Speaker 2: by a terrorist organization known as Hamas. An overreach could
- 13:18Speaker 2: change that dynamic. And that's what happened. Now, how could
- 13:22Speaker 2: you have an overreach if somebody launches a Holocaust against you?
- 13:26Speaker 2: If they start raping women, slashing the throats of babies,
- 13:30Speaker 2: and this is all on video, you can see them
- 13:31Speaker 2: doing it. There really is no overreach. Can you imagine
- 13:36Speaker 2: her cautioning us in World War II? Not to overreach
- 13:40Speaker 2: when it comes to Hitler and the Nazis. What could
- 13:42Speaker 2: be an overreach? When it comes to Hitler and the Nazis,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I mean, we did whatever we had to do. We
- 13:50Speaker 2: firebombed entire cities like Dresden. Whatever we had to do
- 13:54Speaker 2: to win, you got to stop that stuff. But that's Hochul.
- 13:59Speaker 2: If you live on Long Island, Ohika Castle. It's a landmark.
- 14:03Speaker 2: It's one of the great Gatsby sort of mansions. It's a...
- 14:07Speaker 2: a venue for a million big parties and events. Actually,
- 14:12Speaker 2: it's Halloween Saturday. They always have that big Halloween party.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It's still on as far as I know. But it
- 14:18Speaker 2: has fallen into hard times. The owner, that little guy, Gary,
- 14:21Speaker 2: what's his name? Melius, Gary Melius, bankruptcy, owes whatever he owes,
- 14:28Speaker 2: $ 60 million. Anyway, it went up for auction yesterday. Two
- 14:31Speaker 2: guys bought it, two big real estate guys, one from
- 14:34Speaker 2: Long Island, one from Westchester. Oheka Castle was sold for
- 14:39Speaker 2: something like $ 72 million. I don't know what they're going
- 14:42Speaker 2: to do. They said they'll keep it open. A lot
- 14:44Speaker 2: of stuff has happened in Oheka Castle.
- 14:46Speaker 7: Why?
- 14:46Speaker 2: That's where Anthony Weiner got married. Bill Clinton performed the ceremony.
- 14:53Speaker 2: You want to curse your marriage, have Bill Clinton do
- 14:56Speaker 2: the ceremony. Bill Clinton doing a wedding. Can you imagine that?
- 15:03Speaker 2: And the sourpuss Hillary Clinton staring at you as you
- 15:06Speaker 2: get married. Anyway, Oheka Castle's got huge grounds, golf course, everything, hotel, restaurants.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I don't know what these guys are going to do
- 15:14Speaker 2: with it, but you could do a lot with this
- 15:15Speaker 2: place and make it a hotel. There were a few bidders,
- 15:19Speaker 2: I think five bidders. One of them was just a
- 15:21Speaker 2: private guy who wanted to make it into his house,
- 15:24Speaker 2: but not willing to go crazy with the bidding. Anyway,
- 15:26Speaker 2: we've got a lot to get to this morning, lots
- 15:29Speaker 2: to cover. We'll keep you up to date on the
- 15:33Speaker 2: Israeli elections. I don't know if we'll get results today.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Very slow process. They're almost as bad as California. We'll
- 15:40Speaker 2: get to the latest from the left, the latest crazy
- 15:43Speaker 2: Trump attacks and more. Coming up, it's Mark Simone here.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Three hours every day now, 9 to noon every day,
- 15:49Speaker 2: 9 to noon, here on 710WOR. Now, more Mark.
- 15:54Speaker 8: Mark Simone.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Now, 9 till noon weekdays.
- 15:58Speaker 8: On 710WOR.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Well, it's going to be a bright, sunny autumn day
- 16:05Speaker 2: today in the 60s. Now, speaking of Kathy Hochul, she's
- 16:09Speaker 2: going full left-wing, angry left-wing kook mode. Hochul talking to Politico,
- 16:17Speaker 2: the left-wing news site Politico, and telling them she's very excited,
- 16:23Speaker 2: excited about the possibility of a Democratic Congress. She'd like
- 16:27Speaker 2: to see them, she says, holding up President Trump and
- 16:30Speaker 2: his agenda. with constant investigations and hearings. She's calling for
- 16:35Speaker 2: gridlock and lawfare. She wants to see them do endless investigations.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I'm excited about this. Excited about that. She said, I
- 16:46Speaker 2: want to see investigations, hearings, subpoenas, questionings. I want to
- 16:51Speaker 2: put the media spotlight on everything he's doing. It's already
- 16:55Speaker 2: on everything he's doing. I want to try to stop
- 16:58Speaker 2: his flood the zone strategy of doing so much stuff
- 17:02Speaker 2: that you can't even keep track of it. Well, I
- 17:05Speaker 2: think we can all keep track of it. I mean,
- 17:06Speaker 2: you know her, she's got an IQ like maybe, maybe 98.
- 17:11Speaker 2: So it's a little too fast for her. But for us,
- 17:14Speaker 2: it's fine. She said she needs to, we need to
- 17:18Speaker 2: stop the corruption. Stop the abuse. The things he's getting
- 17:23Speaker 2: away with, a fraction of them would have been National
- 17:27Speaker 2: scandals for years. Everything he does is a national scandal
- 17:30Speaker 2: in the media. Everything. They keep telling you about this corruption.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You watch MS Now or any of the crazy stations.
- 17:37Speaker 2: It's about corruption. We have never seen corruption like that.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Corruption is... Show us the corruption. Where is this corruption?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Look at New York. Everything and every law enforcement, the
- 17:50Speaker 2: crazy attorney general, the insane district attorney. They went after
- 17:55Speaker 2: Trump with everything they couldn't find anything to charge him
- 17:58Speaker 2: with they made up these charges one was that he
- 18:03Speaker 2: over he overvalued his apartment and none of it was
- 18:07Speaker 2: true uh all these cases get tossed out on appeal
- 18:12Speaker 2: in fact he undervalued his apartment if you look at
- 18:14Speaker 2: similar apartment listings they're much more than his and his
- 18:18Speaker 2: has got more uh status than any of those but
- 18:21Speaker 2: and then the uh If I tried to explain to
- 18:25Speaker 2: you what Alvin Bragg charged him with, it would take
- 18:28Speaker 2: an hour and a half to explain it to you.
- 18:30Speaker 2: And as Alan Dershowitz said, he's read it a hundred times,
- 18:33Speaker 2: still cannot figure out what the crime is. They couldn't
- 18:35Speaker 2: find any corruption. They couldn't find anything to charge him with.
- 18:41Speaker 2: So they had to make up these fake charges. And
- 18:43Speaker 2: this Letitia James, you can throw her the hell out
- 18:45Speaker 2: in six days. Vote for the Republican candidate for attorney general,
- 18:49Speaker 2: Sarita Comatareti. I think that's how you pronounce it, but very,
- 18:54Speaker 2: very smart. She'd be a great attorney general. Vote for
- 18:59Speaker 2: her in six days. This crazy Letitia James, if she
- 19:04Speaker 2: gets reelected, she's not term limited out at any point.
- 19:09Speaker 2: It's a state job and there's no term limits on
- 19:12Speaker 2: state jobs, but She will go after Trump again. This
- 19:15Speaker 2: is her whole life. It's just hating Trump. But listen
- 19:18Speaker 2: to her.
- 19:18Speaker 9: These executive orders are oftentimes arbitrary. They're capricious. They violate
- 19:24Speaker 9: the spending clause. I have no personal animus against the president.
- 19:27Speaker 9: I took an oath to New Yorkers to protect them
- 19:30Speaker 9: from harm.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I have no personal animus. How do you say that word?
- 19:38Speaker 9: These executive orders are oftentimes arbitrary. They're capricious. They violate
- 19:43Speaker 9: the spending clause. I have no personal animus against the.
- 19:46Speaker 10: President.
- 19:47Speaker 11: Animus?
- 19:48Speaker 2: No animus against... If she had been hooked up to
- 19:52Speaker 2: a lie detector during that sentence, you would have had
- 19:56Speaker 2: a power failure up and down the East Coast. That is...
- 20:01Speaker 2: I mean, the fact that she could say that with
- 20:03Speaker 2: a straight face. She has no personal animus to President Trump.
- 20:08Speaker 2: She has more than that. She has the most raging,
- 20:13Speaker 2: burning hatred of Donald Trump. If you get her alone
- 20:18Speaker 2: and you say, you know, he's really not a bad guy.
- 20:20Speaker 2: You'll see smoke coming out of her. She will go nuts.
- 20:24Speaker 2: That is one of the biggest lies ever told by
- 20:27Speaker 2: a politician. So now if they do get control of
- 20:32Speaker 2: the house, it doesn't look good for Democrats in the Senate.
- 20:35Speaker 2: It looks like Republicans will keep the Senate, but If
- 20:37Speaker 2: they were to get control of the House, there will
- 20:39Speaker 2: be hearings every second, every day. Do you remember when
- 20:43Speaker 2: Bush was in the White House, Bush Jr., and they
- 20:47Speaker 2: were holding the hearings on everything? Remember they held hearings
- 20:50Speaker 2: on Halliburton? Those were the big hearings. How did Halliburton
- 20:55Speaker 2: get that contract? They didn't get it from Bush. They
- 21:00Speaker 2: had the contract already. They were the contractors under Clinton.
- 21:03Speaker 2: They were the contractors under Jimmy Carter. They were the
- 21:05Speaker 2: contractors under everything. Obama, remember Obama came in, gave the
- 21:11Speaker 2: contract right back to Halliburton. They always have the contract.
- 21:13Speaker 2: There's nobody else that does that particular work in war zones.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But they held these fake hearings. The second Bush was
- 21:22Speaker 2: out of office and Obama took over, they dropped the
- 21:24Speaker 2: Halliburton hearings and Obama renewed the contract with Halliburton. I mean,
- 21:29Speaker 2: they just made up these whole fake things. So with Trump,
- 21:32Speaker 2: they will investigate everything. There'll be a ballroom hearing. They'll
- 21:36Speaker 2: investigate the helipad. They'll investigate Don Jr. They'll investigate Eric Trump.
- 21:41Speaker 2: They'll investigate Trump's uncle. Anything they can find. They'll just
- 21:45Speaker 2: keep investigating, investigating. Do you remember this crazy attorney, general
- 21:50Speaker 2: district attorney? They went after the Trump organization in New York.
- 21:53Speaker 2: They looked through the books. They looked through every financial,
- 21:56Speaker 2: everything of the Trump organization. All they could find was
- 22:01Speaker 2: the CFO, Allen Weisselberg. Very nice man. was using a
- 22:07Speaker 2: company car. And he didn't put this on his tax forms. Now,
- 22:11Speaker 2: the reason he didn't is because every CFO everywhere, every
- 22:15Speaker 2: top executive is using a company car. They never put
- 22:19Speaker 2: it on their tax forms. They all use a company car. Well,
- 22:21Speaker 2: he was staying in a company apartment. Well, every big, big,
- 22:26Speaker 2: big corporation has apartments they keep in the city for
- 22:30Speaker 2: executives coming to town, whatever. And once in a while,
- 22:33Speaker 2: the CEO, the CFO will use it for a night
- 22:35Speaker 2: or two. You never put that on your tax form.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Not to mention that this Trump organization is a company
- 22:41Speaker 2: that has something like 800,000 apartments in New York City.
- 22:45Speaker 2: So that's all they could find. That was it. So
- 22:49Speaker 2: it was basically nothing, absolutely nothing. But you'll hear these hearings.
- 22:54Speaker 2: You know, the problem is if Democrats were to control
- 22:57Speaker 2: the House, the committee chairman would be all the nutjobs
- 23:00Speaker 2: like Adam Schiff and Ro Khanna. All these crazies would
- 23:05Speaker 2: take over the hearings and they would call in everybody.
- 23:09Speaker 2: And the other thing you don't get, Trump loves this stuff.
- 23:14Speaker 2: You get him into a fight. You corner him. He
- 23:16Speaker 2: loves that. That's where he comes to life. He loves
- 23:19Speaker 2: these battles. Absolutely loves them. You want to make him miserable?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Just leave him alone. Leave him alone. Tell him what
- 23:25Speaker 2: a great guy he is, how wonderful he is. He
- 23:27Speaker 2: gets miserable. If you're not fighting with him, he gets miserable.
- 23:31Speaker 2: He loves a battle. So, you're in for, if they
- 23:35Speaker 2: were to win, you'd be in for a couple of
- 23:37Speaker 2: years of that. Now, the other thing is, if the
- 23:41Speaker 2: Democrats were to take control of Congress, they would do
- 23:44Speaker 2: all this crap, which will look ridiculous to the public.
- 23:47Speaker 2: And the result would be Democrats would lose big in
- 23:50Speaker 2: 2028 in the presidential race. So it would guarantee a
- 23:54Speaker 2: Republican president getting elected in 2028. So that's the good news. Now, if, well,
- 24:01Speaker 2: we'll see. The midterms are six days from now. But
- 24:04Speaker 2: the most important thing is early voting. A lot of
- 24:07Speaker 2: early voting. Most of it seems to be Democratic. So
- 24:09Speaker 2: counter that. Get out and vote. Republicans, you need to
- 24:12Speaker 2: vote early voting. It's much better to do. You won't
- 24:15Speaker 2: have to wait in line. You can just breeze right through.
- 24:18Speaker 2: A pain in the neck to do it on Election Day.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Do the early voting. You can do it any day
- 24:22Speaker 2: this week. You can do it over the weekend. Don't
- 24:24Speaker 2: forget Saturday night, we go off daylight saving time. Saturday
- 24:29Speaker 2: night at 2 a.m., it becomes 1 a.m. You'll get
- 24:32Speaker 2: an extra hour of sleep. But then starting Sunday night,
- 24:35Speaker 2: it'll be dark out by 5 o'clock, which is very annoying.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Don't forget the marathon is Sunday. It can be a
- 24:41Speaker 2: traffic nightmare in New York City all day. So don't
- 24:44Speaker 2: drive into the city, anywhere in the city, on Sunday.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Of course, Halloween, Monday night. Anyway, we've got a lot
- 24:51Speaker 2: more to get to, and we'll take some calls coming up.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Mark Simone here on 710WOR. Three hours every day, 9
- 24:59Speaker 2: to noon.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR Life
- 25:04Speaker 1: Facts Studios.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Oh, Wendy's. I love Wendy's. I think Wendy's is great.
- 25:11Speaker 2: They're having some problems. They just closed another 60 locations.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I don't know why they had it. But the billionaire
- 25:20Speaker 2: Nelson Peltz is a guy who's come in and rescued,
- 25:23Speaker 2: bought companies and tried to turn them around. Nelson Peltz
- 25:26Speaker 2: bought Snapple. apparently he's about to make a big bid
- 25:29Speaker 2: on Wendy's. He wants to get Wendy's, fix it up.
- 25:32Speaker 2: So the fact that a guy like that is bidding
- 25:34Speaker 2: means there's a good future for him. Burger King has
- 25:37Speaker 2: been rising up from the, I've never been a big
- 25:41Speaker 2: Burger King fan, but it's been rising up. I guess
- 25:43Speaker 2: that's been hurting Wendy's. McDonald's adding all kinds of crazy
- 25:47Speaker 2: items to the menu. We'll get to that coming up.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 25:52Speaker 12: 800-321-0710.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I'm looking at the calls. It looks like a lot
- 26:00Speaker 2: of Florida calls. We have a huge audience in Florida.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And I know a lot of you think, gee, I'd
- 26:05Speaker 2: love to be in Florida. It's paradise. It's paradise. Listen,
- 26:08Speaker 2: they got some big problems in Florida. We'll get to
- 26:11Speaker 2: one of them coming up in the next hour. Let's
- 26:14Speaker 2: go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 26:18Speaker 12: Good morning from rainy Florida where it's been raining for
- 26:22Speaker 12: four days now.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:23Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You know, people up here, they say, oh, I got
- 26:27Speaker 2: to get, I'm going to Florida. I can't stand the snow.
- 26:29Speaker 2: That's enough with the snow. Go down there, you get
- 26:31Speaker 2: four months of hurricanes. And then for half the year,
- 26:34Speaker 2: you get a vicious thunderstorm once a day. Am I right?
- 26:38Speaker 12: It rains about 340 days a year, I would say.
- 26:42Speaker 12: And every time you complain about the rain, the guy
- 26:44Speaker 12: on the other side of the counter says, well, we
- 26:46Speaker 12: really need it. I'm going, you really?
- 26:47Speaker 14: How could there be a drought?
- 26:49Speaker 12: I don't understand. It rains every single day, literally every
- 26:52Speaker 12: single day. It's like, who's stealing the water in Florida?
- 26:56Speaker 12: I'd like to know.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Well, that's like a tropical thing, a vicious rainstorm at
- 27:00Speaker 2: late afternoon every day.
- 27:02Speaker 12: Every day. I say I want to spend one day
- 27:07Speaker 12: completely dry before I die here in this state. I
- 27:10Speaker 12: don't think it's going to happen. But you were mentioning
- 27:16Speaker 12: congestion parking along with the congestion pricing along with the
- 27:20Speaker 12: banning of cars. On a basic level, it's a nuisance.
- 27:24Speaker 12: It's a pain in the neck.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It raises prices.
- 27:26Speaker 12: But in a more sinister way, it's a way for
- 27:28Speaker 12: them to control the public. You know, if they take
- 27:31Speaker 12: away your mode of transportation, where are you going to go?
- 27:34Speaker 12: You're stuck there, and you're at their, you know, you're
- 27:37Speaker 12: at their want and desires to see where you travel. And,
- 27:41Speaker 12: you know, we'll provide train for you. They're not going
- 27:44Speaker 12: to do that. It's a way to control the population.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. No, that's what Democrats love. That's why they
- 27:49Speaker 2: want you off your great private insurance, health insurance. They
- 27:52Speaker 2: want you on government insurance. That way they control it.
- 27:55Speaker 2: They won't want you driving your private car. They want
- 27:57Speaker 2: you on public transportation. That way they control it. You're right.
- 28:01Speaker 12: Exactly. Take away all choice.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Very good point. Yeah, definitely. Excellent point, Mike. Yeah, Democrats
- 28:09Speaker 2: are never pro-choice when it comes to anything, except abortion,
- 28:14Speaker 2: which is fine. But everything else, they don't like choice.
- 28:18Speaker 2: They'll tell you what health plan you're going to have.
- 28:21Speaker 2: They'll tell you how you can get to work. They'll
- 28:23Speaker 2: decide for you. Let's go back to Florida. Let's go
- 28:28Speaker 2: to Joel in Florida. Joel, how are you doing? Good morning, Mark.
- 28:32Speaker 15: Occasionally we get a few days where it doesn't rain,
- 28:35Speaker 15: but that's not often. Just have a question for you.
- 28:38Speaker 15: In the past, when Netanyahu was running for office, we've
- 28:42Speaker 15: heard that Obama sent people over to Israel to try
- 28:45Speaker 15: to see what they could do to disrupt the process.
- 28:48Speaker 15: Have you heard of anything at this time where he
- 28:51Speaker 15: might have sent people in or the Democrats sent people
- 28:53Speaker 15: in That's why to upset the process.
- 28:56Speaker 2: There is some funny business going on down there. Absolutely. Definitely. Uh,
- 29:02Speaker 2: they'll have to uncover it, uh, over the next few weeks,
- 29:05Speaker 2: but yeah, there's a lot of funny business going on
- 29:06Speaker 2: with the voting down there. The latest is, uh, Netanyahu
- 29:10Speaker 2: was behind, but the latest is he seems to have
- 29:12Speaker 2: pulled ahead just a little, but not enough of the
- 29:14Speaker 2: votes still too close to call. Uh, Joel, thanks for calling.
- 29:19Speaker 2: It's going to be, um, It's going to be a
- 29:22Speaker 2: while before we actually know the results of this election.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I don't even know if it will be later today.
- 29:28Speaker 2: At some point, maybe by the end of the week,
- 29:31Speaker 2: you'll know. Right now, the latest I got from the
- 29:34Speaker 2: Netanyahu team, let me give you that again, is.
- 29:38Speaker 7: 78% of.
- 29:40Speaker 2: The vote in. Likud, that's Netanyahu's party, 27. Yashari, 22.
- 29:48Speaker 2: So it's a slight lead. It's a slight lead, but
- 29:50Speaker 2: we'll see. Let's go to Chucky in Long Island. Chucky,
- 29:54Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 29:56Speaker 12: It's Chucky.
- 29:56Speaker 2: How are you, Mark?
- 29:57Speaker 16: Mark.
- 29:58Speaker 2: What's your name? Mark.
- 29:59Speaker 8: Tookie.
- 30:00Speaker 12: Oh, Tookie.
- 30:01Speaker 2: It says Chuckie.
- 30:02Speaker 12: Tookie.
- 30:03Speaker 2: It's Tookie. It's Tookie. It's Tookie.
- 30:05Speaker 16: That's even worse.
- 30:06Speaker 2: What kind of name is Tookie?
- 30:09Speaker 16: It's a nickname.
- 30:09Speaker 14: It's a long family nickname.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 30:12Speaker 14: But Mark, listen, Florida went from God's waiting room to
- 30:16Speaker 14: the foreclosure capital of the country. All these people running
- 30:20Speaker 14: to Florida to think they're going to save this exorbitant
- 30:22Speaker 14: amount of money when they leave here are totally wrong.
- 30:25Speaker 14: Food is just as expensive as here. gas is more
- 30:28Speaker 14: is is as expensive if not more expensive and it's
- 30:33Speaker 14: just it's it's it's it's not what it was if
- 30:35Speaker 14: you want to save money you have to move to
- 30:37Speaker 14: a rural area now which would be more out west there.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Are cheaper places to live like in the carolinas well
- 30:43Speaker 2: i guess that's.
- 30:44Speaker 14: A rural area absolutely yeah uh well you.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Could move to connecticut's a little cheaper than new york uh.
- 30:52Speaker 16: The condos.
- 30:53Speaker 14: If you move to a condo on Long Island, where
- 30:55Speaker 14: I live, I pay about $ 19, 000 a year in taxes.
- 30:59Speaker 14: But if I move to a condo, I would have
- 31:02Speaker 14: a situation where my taxes would be $ 6, 000 to $ 7, 000.
- 31:05Speaker 14: But I have an exorbitant HOA fee. These people in
- 31:08Speaker 14: Florida have an exorbitant HOA fee now also.
- 31:11Speaker 2: That's true. You have a condo, no property tax. Your
- 31:13Speaker 2: HOA fee will be through the roof, though.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Right.
- 31:16Speaker 14: It used to be nothing.
- 31:17Speaker 16: Now there's $ 700, 000, $ 800, 000.
- 31:17Speaker 14: It depends on where you live.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 2: All right. Good point, Tookie. Thanks for calling. Let's go
- 31:25Speaker 2: to Walt in Yonkers. Walt, how you doing?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Pretty good.
- 31:30Speaker 15: As a matter of fact, I'm all ready for Halloween.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you look it.
- 31:33Speaker 16: Just picked up my costume.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Oh, it's not a costume. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- 31:36Speaker 16: Just picked up my.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Costume, a red beret, a red sateen jacket, and a
- 31:39Speaker 4: big sign that says, everybody, look at me.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Hey, you know what? That's a good idea for a costume, though.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Just go as Curtis. Although, where do you get a
- 31:46Speaker 2: red beret?
- 31:48Speaker 16: On the internet.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Oh, of course. Of course. Yeah, you can. Yeah, it's
- 31:52Speaker 2: a good costume. Get a sateen jacket, a red beret.
- 31:55Speaker 2: People will know. Everybody knows Curtis. You'll go as Curtis.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Is that it, Walt? You just wanted to make a
- 32:00Speaker 2: joke about Curtis? That was the whole thing?
- 32:02Speaker 16: Hey, everybody, look at me. From day one, that's Curtis.
- 32:05Speaker 2: You're kidding. I've never heard of a radio host behaving
- 32:07Speaker 2: like that. You mean a radio host looking for attention?
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 2: That is certainly unusual. Can you imagine such a thing?
- 32:15Speaker 16: Son of a gun.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Walt, keep working on that. You've got to come up
- 32:17Speaker 2: with something better. It's a.
- 32:20Speaker 2: It's a start, but you're not there yet, Walt. Anyway.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Should I get to it now? No, I'll save it.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I'll save it. There's all kinds of problems in Florida.
- 32:31Speaker 2: They got another one now in major parts of Florida.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Things that you don't even, you know, you say, well,
- 32:38Speaker 2: I don't like the snow. Well, first of all, we
- 32:39Speaker 2: got this El Nino coming for the winter. That keeps
- 32:42Speaker 2: temperatures very warm all winter. So this will be one
- 32:45Speaker 2: of those winters most likely where there is no snow.
- 32:48Speaker 2: But you've got problems, weather problems down in Florida and
- 32:51Speaker 2: other things. We'll get to them in the next hour.
- 32:55Speaker 2: We'll also get to the Democrats now plotting new attacks
- 32:58Speaker 2: on Donald Trump. They find things to pick on. They
- 33:01Speaker 2: must have a team staying up all night, every night,
- 33:04Speaker 2: looking for the littlest things to pick on. We'll get
- 33:07Speaker 2: to some of those coming up. Hey, don't forget, at
- 33:09Speaker 2: noon today, Buck Sexton and Clay Travis, they do a
- 33:13Speaker 2: really good show every day. You get two hosts for
- 33:16Speaker 2: the price of one. Then at 3 o'clock, you've got
- 33:18Speaker 2: the single most listened to radio show in America, Sean
- 33:23Speaker 2: Hannity at 3. You've got Jesse Kelly at 6. Jimmy
- 33:27Speaker 2: Fallon is the funniest show on radio. It's on every night,
- 33:31Speaker 2: 9 to midnight, and it's all here on 710WOR.
- 33:35Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 33:40Speaker 6: Much more Mark on 710WOR.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Well, it's going to be a nice day today. It's
- 33:47Speaker 2: going to be sunny. It'll be like this for the
- 33:49Speaker 2: next four or five days. Beautiful, bright, sunny day.
- 33:54Speaker 7: Cold.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's not going to be that warm. It'll
- 33:55Speaker 2: be in the 60s. Hey, also remember, this is the
- 33:57Speaker 2: last week of Daylight Saving Time. So it's light out
- 34:00Speaker 2: until 6. Next week, 5 o'clock. That's the latest. 5 o'clock.
- 34:04Speaker 2: It'll be dark by then. So, hey, check out my Instagram.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Instagram story. Check out that part. SkatingRinkOpen.com. Rockefeller Center, a
- 34:15Speaker 2: lot of ice skating. Woolman Rink opens today. Bryant Park
- 34:22Speaker 2: opens today. You know, that's a beautiful skating rink in
- 34:24Speaker 2: Bryant Park. That opens today. And yesterday, it's up on
- 34:27Speaker 2: my Instagram story. I spotted the first Christmas tree. It's
- 34:32Speaker 2: above the marquee, Radio City Music Hall. First Christmas tree
- 34:37Speaker 2: I've seen. It's still October. And there's a Christmas tree
- 34:40Speaker 2: up above the marquee. at Radio City. Hey, we got
- 34:43Speaker 2: another two hours to go. Don't forget, it's three hours
- 34:46Speaker 2: every day. It's nine to noon every day. Nine o'clock
- 34:49Speaker 2: till noon every day. Mark Simone here on 710WOR.
- 34:55Speaker 11: You're ahead of.
- 34:56Speaker 1: The game just for being here. It's Mark Simone on 710WOR.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Well, not to get through this hour, Kathy Hochul giving
- 35:07Speaker 2: a big interview to the left-wing, biased, slanted, site called Politico.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Politico's been caught in some fake news recently. They're the
- 35:18Speaker 2: ones that had that whole fake story that Susie Wiles,
- 35:21Speaker 2: the White House chief of staff, is out. Total fake story.
- 35:25Speaker 2: In fact, the White House threatened to sue Politico. They
- 35:28Speaker 2: immediately issued a full retraction. Story was false. That's Politico.
- 35:34Speaker 2: She gives them an interview. She loves to just stick
- 35:36Speaker 2: to the Very biased places like New York One. That's
- 35:40Speaker 2: the only place she would agree to a debate. Politico,
- 35:43Speaker 2: that's who she gives the interview to. But in this interview,
- 35:46Speaker 2: she said she also plans to run for governor in 2030. Now, remember,
- 35:52Speaker 2: there's no term limits on New York State, state jobs,
- 35:56Speaker 2: attorney general, governor. You can be, Pataki was there four terms.
- 36:00Speaker 2: You can run over and over again. So she wants
- 36:03Speaker 2: to be a four-term governor, five-term governor. Well, you can't
- 36:07Speaker 2: because when you get near third term, people start turning
- 36:12Speaker 2: on you. When you get near fourth term, it doesn't
- 36:14Speaker 2: matter how good you are. They end up hating you
- 36:16Speaker 2: in the fourth term. But she says she'll run again
- 36:20Speaker 2: in 2030. Now, I would assume that's because who the
- 36:23Speaker 2: hell is going to hire her if she got out
- 36:25Speaker 2: of office? I don't think there's any big corporations looking
- 36:27Speaker 2: at her and saying, why can't we get somebody like
- 36:30Speaker 2: that to run the company? I don't think anybody's impressed
- 36:33Speaker 2: by her. Now, if you're thinking of moving to Florida,
- 36:39Speaker 2: if you say to yourself, I can't go through these winters.
- 36:42Speaker 2: I don't like the cold. I want to move to Florida. Well,
- 36:45Speaker 2: you better like tropical storms. You better like hurricanes. And
- 36:48Speaker 2: they got problems down there that you'd never have up here.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I mean, you know, from everything. You got the lizards
- 36:55Speaker 2: in your house. You got alligators in your backyard. But
- 37:00Speaker 2: the new problem now hitting South Florida, they call it
- 37:05Speaker 2: a king tide. They got king tide problems. It's hitting Miami.
- 37:10Speaker 2: It's hitting Fort Lauderdale. It's hitting Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
- 37:16Speaker 2: The king tide is the tide off the coast of
- 37:20Speaker 2: Florida has gotten so high, it's flooding the streets, flooding
- 37:24Speaker 2: the cities. Oh, I don't mean in some out-of-the-way area.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I mean right in the middle of Miami. People are
- 37:31Speaker 2: sending me pictures from Miami. Their streets are flooded under
- 37:35Speaker 2: two feet of water. It's called the King Tide. Now,
- 37:39Speaker 2: they keep trying to build new seawalls and all. It
- 37:43Speaker 2: doesn't work. It's not helping. South Florida has seen days
- 37:48Speaker 2: of flooding due to these King Tides. It's where the
- 37:52Speaker 2: tide comes up like a couple of feet past normal.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Add to that these strong onshore winds. As we were
- 38:00Speaker 2: talking about before, it rains every day in Florida. Residents
- 38:05Speaker 2: have been warned that this week could be the worst.
- 38:08Speaker 2: It could get worse before it even starts to improve.
- 38:11Speaker 2: King tides have surged to record levels. Broward, Dade County
- 38:16Speaker 2: in Miami. It's salt water just floods the streets. It
- 38:21Speaker 2: can be up to two feet of salt water. It completely,
- 38:24Speaker 2: you know, knocks out your car. It'll stall your car.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I'm not talking about just, you know, out of the
- 38:31Speaker 2: way places. I Mid-Miami Beach, Collins Avenue, flooded. Some cars stalled.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Others climbed up on hotel driveways trying to get to
- 38:43Speaker 2: higher ground. Neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale have been victims of
- 38:48Speaker 2: this flooding. Streets, entire streets were underwater. People became stranded yesterday.
- 38:55Speaker 2: The city is unable to pump the water out fast enough.
- 38:58Speaker 2: The drain system isn't enough. Ocean levels are exceptionally high.
- 39:02Speaker 2: There's nowhere for the water to go. You can't pump
- 39:05Speaker 2: it back into the waterways because that just adds to
- 39:08Speaker 2: the problem. They're already elevated beyond control. Water-covered streets and yards.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Some businesses knocked out in the Riviera Isles neighborhood. People
- 39:22Speaker 2: were in boats using paddle boats to get around the streets.
- 39:28Speaker 2: You don't have these problems anymore.
- 39:30Speaker 3: There.
- 39:30Speaker 2: You got a lot of problems in Florida. I know
- 39:32Speaker 2: there's no taxes, but you got a lot of other problems.
- 39:36Speaker 2: So it's supposed to be big news. Cheerios, the great
- 39:42Speaker 2: cereal has made a major change in packaging and Why,
- 39:46Speaker 2: in the cereal box, when you, the cereal's, you know,
- 39:48Speaker 2: it's in a little plastic, you know, it's in a
- 39:51Speaker 2: bag within the box. You pour it out and then
- 39:53Speaker 2: you fold up, curl up the top of that bag. Well,
- 39:57Speaker 2: from now on, Cheerios, they're starting this. They're going to have,
- 40:00Speaker 2: when you open up the box, the bag that's in
- 40:03Speaker 2: the cereal is going to have a Ziploc zipper at
- 40:06Speaker 2: the top of it. So you open the zipper slightly,
- 40:10Speaker 2: which will create a spout. You can pour the cereal out.
- 40:13Speaker 2: And then like a Ziploc bag, you zip it closed.
- 40:17Speaker 2: It helps keep the cereal fresh.
- 40:20Speaker 16: Huh.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It is 2026. You'd think they would have thought of
- 40:24Speaker 2: this somewhere in the last 50 years. I mean, Ziploc
- 40:27Speaker 2: bags have been around forever. They just thought of this now.
- 40:31Speaker 2: So it's a big improvement. It doesn't say here anything
- 40:34Speaker 2: about the price. There might be a big improvement in
- 40:36Speaker 2: the price to pay for this.
- 40:38Speaker 16: But.
- 40:41Speaker 2: The new packaging designed to open, create a spout. It's
- 40:45Speaker 2: designed to keep the cereal fresh.
- 40:47Speaker 12: I don't know.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I like folding up the bag inside. You know, you
- 40:50Speaker 2: fold it up, fold it up, fold it up. All right,
- 40:53Speaker 2: this is probably a good idea. If it works, other
- 40:55Speaker 2: cereals will do it. You know what's a big hit
- 40:57Speaker 2: on Broadway? That Billy Crystal show. It's a one-man show
- 41:01Speaker 2: called 860. That was his address of his house in
- 41:04Speaker 2: Los Angeles, destroyed in the fires. So he tells these
- 41:08Speaker 2: touching stories of losing his house and everything. But before
- 41:12Speaker 2: he gets to that, he takes you through his whole career.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Everybody raving. It's a great one-man show. And it's doing
- 41:19Speaker 2: so well. It's sold out completely. Took in $ 1. 2 million
- 41:23Speaker 2: this week. Now, that's huge. It's not a big Broadway musical.
- 41:28Speaker 2: It's just a straight show, one-man show. They do it
- 41:31Speaker 2: in a little smaller theater. So that's a lot of
- 41:34Speaker 2: money for a one-man show. Everybody's saying he'll get a
- 41:37Speaker 2: special Tony Award. But it's doing so well. They've extended
- 41:41Speaker 2: the run for six weeks. It's a limited run. Well,
- 41:45Speaker 2: they always do a limited run just in case it
- 41:46Speaker 2: bombs or it's not doing so well. Then they can
- 41:49Speaker 2: close and say it was always just a limited run.
- 41:51Speaker 2: But they've extended it six weeks through February 14th. Last
- 41:57Speaker 2: performance will be like the day before the Super Bowl.
- 41:59Speaker 2: So if you haven't seen it, go see it. Everybody's
- 42:02Speaker 2: raving about it. It's not Jackie Mason. That was the
- 42:05Speaker 2: single greatest one-man show in Broadway history. This show is dramatic.
- 42:09Speaker 2: It's touching. It's cute. It's funny. The Jackie Mason one-man
- 42:13Speaker 2: show was just nonstop roaring laughter. For two hours, it
- 42:18Speaker 2: was the most amazing one-man show in the history of Broadway.
- 42:20Speaker 2: And ever since he did that, you may have forgotten
- 42:23Speaker 2: about this. Every comedian got so jealous. They all tried it. Remember?
- 42:28Speaker 2: You won't remember. Rodney Dangerfield tried a one-man show. It
- 42:31Speaker 2: lasted a few weeks. I can't remember all of it.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Every comedian you can think of, even Mort Sahl tried it.
- 42:36Speaker 2: None of them lasted. This is the only thing that's
- 42:39Speaker 2: ever come close, this Billy Crystal show. Hey, there's going
- 42:42Speaker 2: to be a Kennedy Center Honors this year. He's saying,
- 42:46Speaker 2: he said, wait a minute, there's no Kennedy Center. How
- 42:48Speaker 2: could they do that without, well, they're going to do
- 42:51Speaker 2: it apparently anyway. Even though there's no Kennedy Center, they'll
- 42:55Speaker 2: do it December 7th. They'll do it at the Capital
- 42:57Speaker 2: One Arena in Washington. not as elegant as the Kennedy Center, but,
- 43:03Speaker 2: you know, the Kennedy Center only holds 2,000 people. Capitol
- 43:07Speaker 2: Arena is 20,000 people. They're going to announce the honorees
- 43:11Speaker 2: pretty soon. I'm hearing Liza Minnelli, Mel Gibson, names like that.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I can't remember. There's a few artists that are... Liza Minnelli,
- 43:24Speaker 2: I think, has said she will accept it. So, all
- 43:28Speaker 2: day long, they have... Teams of Democrats, media teams and
- 43:33Speaker 2: teams of people who sit up all night trying to
- 43:35Speaker 2: figure out what could we attack Trump on? Well, they've
- 43:40Speaker 2: done the ballroom. Nobody seems to care. They do the helipad.
- 43:43Speaker 2: You know, the ballroom stuff, as our friend Jimmy Fallon
- 43:47Speaker 2: always points out, is of no interest to anybody as
- 43:50Speaker 2: an issue. They love the ballroom. It's a great idea.
- 43:53Speaker 2: It's going to be beautiful. It's an incredible piece of luck.
- 43:57Speaker 2: You need a ballroom. You got a president. who is
- 44:00Speaker 2: the country's leading expert on building ballrooms. He's built hundreds
- 44:04Speaker 2: of them all over the world. They all look spectacular.
- 44:07Speaker 2: So let him build the ballroom. He's going to spend,
- 44:10Speaker 2: I don't know, let's say it's six, 700 million. Okay.
- 44:14Speaker 2: If the government tried to build the same ballroom, it
- 44:16Speaker 2: would be 60 billion and it would take 20 years.
- 44:19Speaker 2: This is going to take a year at the most
- 44:22Speaker 2: and it'll get it built. But the other thing he
- 44:24Speaker 2: wants to do is put a big arch in Washington, D.C.,
- 44:28Speaker 2: it'll look like when you go down to Washington square park,
- 44:30Speaker 2: you got a big arch there, which looks exactly like
- 44:33Speaker 2: the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, where all the big
- 44:37Speaker 2: boulevards come together. And in Paris, it's, they have these
- 44:42Speaker 2: throughout Europe. It's not just Paris. Germany has that sort
- 44:45Speaker 2: of every great grand capital in Europe has one of
- 44:48Speaker 2: these arches. So he thinks the Washington DC, the U
- 44:52Speaker 2: S capital should have a big arch and it's, Naturally,
- 44:55Speaker 2: it's Trump, so it's going to be bigger than their arches,
- 44:57Speaker 2: and it's going to have a little more gold. In fact,
- 45:00Speaker 2: maybe I have too much gold, but it looks beautiful
- 45:02Speaker 2: in the joints, but it's big. It's very big. It's
- 45:06Speaker 2: impressive if you look at it. It's quite dramatic. But
- 45:10Speaker 2: Democrats hate it because it's Trump. Anything Trump they don't like.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Anything Trump they hate. So they're coming up with arguments
- 45:19Speaker 2: against it. One is it's too close to Arlington. I
- 45:23Speaker 2: said it's a cemetery. So the new one is they
- 45:26Speaker 2: are now saying this arch would cast a shadow over
- 45:30Speaker 2: thousands of graves at Arlington. This is the Washington Post
- 45:34Speaker 2: launching this attack. You're going to hear about this all
- 45:37Speaker 2: over CNN and MSNOW. They'll have animations, drawings. Look how
- 45:42Speaker 2: it would cast a shadow over the graves. Now, I
- 45:45Speaker 2: don't mean to be cold about this, but is that
- 45:49Speaker 2: a problem? It's a grave. I mean, I don't think
- 45:52Speaker 2: anybody in a grave is going to go, ooh, what
- 45:54Speaker 2: the hell is that? It's not going to blind it.
- 45:56Speaker 2: I mean, and I have a feeling the shadow is
- 45:58Speaker 2: going to be for like an hour or two a
- 45:59Speaker 2: day and that's it. But they're yelling and screaming. This
- 46:02Speaker 2: is going to be the grave of Thurgood Marshall, of
- 46:05Speaker 2: William Rehnquist, of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. To me, it's not
- 46:13Speaker 2: that big a controversy. You know, this cop, this awful,
- 46:18Speaker 2: awful ex-cop who shot this poor guy, Irvine, Con Ed Worker,
- 46:25Speaker 2: everybody who knows this guy Irvine, this off-duty cop, gets
- 46:30Speaker 2: into road rage with him on the George Washington Bridge. Now,
- 46:34Speaker 2: Irvine seems to be the nicest guy ever. He's not
- 46:39Speaker 2: a guy that would drive aggressively or anything. But, you know,
- 46:42Speaker 2: when you're going onto the George Washington Bridge from the
- 46:45Speaker 2: West Side Highway, off the West Side Highway, then you
- 46:49Speaker 2: go on these lanes that curl around sideways this way.
- 46:52Speaker 2: It's like the biggest curve ever and it's three lanes
- 46:56Speaker 2: and it's very confusing i mean it's so fast and
- 47:00Speaker 2: then one sign says lower level this way upper level
- 47:02Speaker 2: this lane cross bronx this lane so sometimes you're like
- 47:07Speaker 2: in the wrong lane you have to suddenly switch lanes
- 47:09Speaker 2: that's probably what happened they think that irvine cut this
- 47:15Speaker 2: ex-cop off now again he's not a guy that would
- 47:17Speaker 2: do that deliberately so they think that something like that
- 47:20Speaker 2: happened anyway you can see in the surveillance video that
- 47:23Speaker 2: Irvine is being now chased by this ex cop who's
- 47:27Speaker 2: tailgating him, flashing his lights at him, chasing him. And
- 47:30Speaker 2: this ex cop goes so crazy with road rage, pulls
- 47:34Speaker 2: up alongside him, takes out his gun, shoots into the car,
- 47:38Speaker 2: kills Irvine. It is the most terrible thing in the world.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Everybody says this Irvine, a con ed worker for 20
- 47:45Speaker 2: years is the most beloved, wonderful family man. So, uh,
- 47:51Speaker 2: this ex cop Romero has to go to court the
- 47:55Speaker 2: other day. And I guess, cause he's an ex cop,
- 47:57Speaker 2: the court officers took care of him, snuck him into
- 48:00Speaker 2: the courthouse through the garage or something. So reporters never
- 48:04Speaker 2: got to see him. He had a return to court
- 48:06Speaker 2: this time. And, uh, I guess the court officers were
- 48:08Speaker 2: afraid to pull any favors this time. So he did
- 48:12Speaker 2: come out of his car on the street and everybody
- 48:14Speaker 2: got pictures of him. The other thing about Romero is, um,
- 48:20Speaker 2: when they found out his name, they went to the
- 48:22Speaker 2: internet and every single thing about him had been scrubbed
- 48:26Speaker 2: off the internet. You could not find a picture or
- 48:28Speaker 2: anything about this guy on the internet. Now, you know,
- 48:31Speaker 2: we have that sponsor incognito. You can hire companies like that.
- 48:34Speaker 2: They will get every piece of thing, information off the
- 48:37Speaker 2: internet for you of you. So he obviously used a
- 48:40Speaker 2: service like that. Uh, he works for a big financial company.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I'm sure they have, uh, somebody knows how to do
- 48:47Speaker 2: all that stuff or a company they use. But, um,
- 48:50Speaker 2: And he worked for a big financial company. He was
- 48:52Speaker 2: the driver for the CEO. In fact, when he did
- 48:56Speaker 2: this shooting, he was in the company car, the Range Rover.
- 49:01Speaker 2: So for whatever reason, our crazy district attorney, although he
- 49:06Speaker 2: downgrades charges all the time, instead of murder, he downgraded
- 49:10Speaker 2: it to manslaughter. Well, yesterday in court, they rose it
- 49:13Speaker 2: back up to murder. It should be murder. It's not manslaughter.
- 49:17Speaker 2: I mean, it's out and out murder. Out and out. murder.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Irvine's family, friends were there. They were so angry, and
- 49:25Speaker 2: who can blame them? Where's Governor Kathy Hochul?
- 49:28Speaker 17: Where's Mondani?
- 49:29Speaker 8: Where's my condolences for my family?
- 49:32Speaker 1: I'm pissed off.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean, that's just a sample, but they're
- 49:37Speaker 2: absolutely right. So this cop.
- 49:40Speaker 2: I mean, how can you not convict this guy? How's
- 49:43Speaker 2: he not going to get convicted? What's his defense? I
- 49:46Speaker 2: had no idea. Anyways, it's just a terrible story. We'll
- 49:49Speaker 2: take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. If you're
- 49:51Speaker 2: a new caller, we love hearing from you.
- 49:54Speaker 8: 800-321-0710.
- 50:01Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 50:04Speaker 3: Three.
- 50:05Speaker 2: More Mark. The Mark Simone Show.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 50:12Speaker 8: 710WOR.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Let's take some calls. Let's go to Gina in Staten Island. Gina,
- 50:20Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 50:22Speaker 18: I'm good.
- 50:23Speaker 19: How are you, Mark?
- 50:23Speaker 2: Very good.
- 50:24Speaker 16: Okay.
- 50:26Speaker 19: I'm calling because I was in the city yesterday and
- 50:29Speaker 19: I met Caroline Schenkel. And I was very impressed with her.
- 50:32Speaker 19: And she's standing on the corner on the Upper West Side.
- 50:36Speaker 19: And I said, you're very brave to be out here.
- 50:38Speaker 19: And I hope she wins. And I did early voting.
- 50:41Speaker 19: I did R all the way down. And also, I
- 50:43Speaker 19: had just come out of the Museum of Natural History.
- 50:46Speaker 19: And I was upset because I was on a tour.
- 50:48Speaker 19: And the tour guide starts asking people, where are you from?
- 50:51Speaker 19: So this kid goes, I'm from Ireland, and she says, oh,
- 50:55Speaker 19: I wish I was there right now because of what's
- 50:57Speaker 19: going on in this country. And I just looked at
- 50:59Speaker 19: her like, what the? And I said, okay, you're in Manhattan.
- 51:01Speaker 19: Calm down. So I just left the tour. I was like,
- 51:04Speaker 19: instead of fighting with her, I just walked away.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Just ignore it. They're like silly little children, just whiny
- 51:12Speaker 2: little children. Caroline Schinkel is a very good candidate. She's
- 51:15Speaker 2: running in Congressional District 12. That's Jerry Nadler's old seat.
- 51:20Speaker 2: It's part west side, part east side. So vote for
- 51:24Speaker 2: Caroline Schinkel. Election Day coming up. So you're from Staten Island.
- 51:30Speaker 2: That's New York. You shouldn't be a tourist on a
- 51:33Speaker 2: tour bus looking at the museums.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Well, I don't know.
- 51:38Speaker 19: I couldn't help myself. No, it was inside. They do
- 51:40Speaker 19: tours on the half hour, and it's usually good. They
- 51:43Speaker 19: don't talk about politics, but this woman, I was like, oh,
- 51:45Speaker 19: my God.
- 51:46Speaker 2: That's going to happen. Just ignore it. Just laugh.
- 51:48Speaker 19: I said, I'm not going to fight. I just walked away,
- 51:51Speaker 19: and I just took a deep breath. And then I
- 51:52Speaker 19: ran into Caroline Schenkel outside, and I said, okay, I
- 51:54Speaker 19: feel better now about life.
- 51:56Speaker 2: All right. Just laugh at these people. They're just children.
- 51:59Speaker 2: They're like little children. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 52:04Speaker 2: Shelly in Long Island. Shelly, how are you doing?
- 52:07Speaker 8: Hey, Mark.
- 52:08Speaker 11: How are you doing? I love this show. You always
- 52:09Speaker 11: make everything better.
- 52:11Speaker 20: I just wanted to say that.
- 52:13Speaker 11: Um, I saw the Billy Crystal show. It was very funny,
- 52:16Speaker 11: but I will say, I don't know. Did you see it?
- 52:18Speaker 2: No, not yet. Oh, okay.
- 52:21Speaker 11: Well, he did spend a good eight minutes bashing Trump
- 52:24Speaker 11: and everybody who was liberal in the audience was clapping.
- 52:27Speaker 11: They were so happy about it. And then he glosses
- 52:30Speaker 11: over the reason that his house burnt down. He didn't
- 52:34Speaker 11: name names. He barely mentioned that the reservoirs were empty.
- 52:38Speaker 11: He didn't really talk about the fact that the firefighters
- 52:41Speaker 11: couldn't find water. He was very specific about not going
- 52:45Speaker 11: after anybody.
- 52:46Speaker 10: In California about that.
- 52:47Speaker 11: And I really was disappointed, to be honest with you.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Well, all right. That's a good point. If it's a
- 52:52Speaker 2: bias-slanted Trump derangement syndrome show, I guess we can avoid it.
- 52:57Speaker 2: But it's Billy Crystal. He doesn't know anything about politics.
- 53:02Speaker 2: You know, if you ask Billy Crystal... And, you know,
- 53:05Speaker 2: to break down quantum physics, I don't think you'd be
- 53:07Speaker 2: very good at that either.
- 53:08Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 53:09Speaker 8: Very true.
- 53:10Speaker 11: But I'm curious to hear what you say after you've
- 53:13Speaker 11: seen it. It is funny.
- 53:14Speaker 19: I will give you that. But I did not like
- 53:16Speaker 19: that part.
- 53:16Speaker 2: All right. Now that you've said that, I'm not going
- 53:18Speaker 2: to see it. That's it. I'm not going to see it.
- 53:20Speaker 3: There you go.
- 53:21Speaker 2: If it's that biased.
- 53:21Speaker 12: There you go. All right.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Thanks for the warning. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 53:27Speaker 2: Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how are you doing?
- 53:29Speaker 16: Look, I had to call in. I went to a
- 53:31Speaker 16: one-man show in New York November 3rd. 2002. It was
- 53:36Speaker 16: at the Little Theater, Helen Hayes Theater.
- 53:38Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 53:38Speaker 16: And I got there early to make sure I knew
- 53:40Speaker 16: where I was going. It was Good Night Gracie. Okay, Mark?
- 53:44Speaker 2: Yeah, who was that? I forgot who it was.
- 53:47Speaker 16: Oh, I'm going to get to that in a sec, Mark.
- 53:50Speaker 16: So next to it, as you know, you spent many
- 53:52Speaker 16: times there. Sardis.
- 53:52Speaker 12: Sardis.
- 53:54Speaker 16: I've never been in Sardis. So I went up. The
- 53:56Speaker 16: doorman said, can I come in? I'm dressed.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Come on in.
- 53:59Speaker 16: I went to the bar. Very nice bartender. I had
- 54:02Speaker 16: a couple of beers. Paid my tab. I said, let
- 54:04Speaker 16: me go back. And I turn, and who's standing there
- 54:07Speaker 16: with a baseball cap over his face, a cigarette down
- 54:10Speaker 16: to the nub? I'd met him before at an autograph show.
- 54:14Speaker 16: It was the star of the show, Frank Gorshin. And
- 54:17Speaker 16: I went up to him.
- 54:18Speaker 12: I said, shouldn't you be getting ready?
- 54:19Speaker 2: You're building this up like you met the greatest star
- 54:22Speaker 2: in the world. Like it's going to be some unbelievable.
- 54:25Speaker 2: It turns out it's Frank Gorshin?
- 54:28Speaker 16: He was the star. He was in George Burns for.
- 54:30Speaker 2: The hour and a half. Frank Gorshin was a brilliant impressionist,
- 54:35Speaker 2: great impressionist, one of the best ever. But if you
- 54:38Speaker 2: took him out on the street and stopped everybody in
- 54:40Speaker 2: the streets, I'll give you $ 10, 000. You can tell me
- 54:42Speaker 2: who this guy is. Nobody.
- 54:44Speaker 7: Well, it was 2002. He was past his prime. But anyhow,
- 54:46Speaker 7: we talked about Batman. We talked about, he played the
- 54:49Speaker 7: Riddler in Batman. And he actually, at the end, Mark,
- 54:52Speaker 7: I'll leave you with this. When I helped, I think
- 54:54Speaker 7: he did it for me. He took forest, you know,
- 54:56Speaker 7: bows at the end and he walked off the stage
- 54:59Speaker 7: dancing like the Riddler.
- 55:00Speaker 16: So he, It was a great memory, Mark.
- 55:02Speaker 2: If you got that excited about meeting Frank Gorshin, I'm
- 55:05Speaker 2: going to introduce you to Larry Storch. How's that? That
- 55:07Speaker 2: will get you really excited.
- 55:08Speaker 16: Oh, I met him.
- 55:09Speaker 2: See, there you go.
- 55:10Speaker 16: Yes, I did. Thanks, Mark.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Let me test you on other names. Let me see.
- 55:14Speaker 2: We've got to stump this guy.
- 55:15Speaker 16: I met them all.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Milt Kamen. Never met him. Oh, right. That's a comedian
- 55:21Speaker 2: in the 60s. Let me try another. Nipsey Russell.
- 55:28Speaker 7: Oh, I would have loved to have met him, but
- 55:30Speaker 7: I don't think he did the autograph conventions.
- 55:32Speaker 2: All right. They go to these autograph conventions.
- 55:35Speaker 16: I met Ernest Borg twice, Mark. Ernest Borg twice. Not twice.
- 55:39Speaker 16: Both times he was in his 90s. All right. He
- 55:41Speaker 16: was at the autograph convention.
- 55:43Speaker 7: So there you go.
- 55:44Speaker 2: All right. Thanks for calling. They go to these autograph conventions,
- 55:49Speaker 2: and they line up forever to meet Joe Flynn, who was–
- 55:53Speaker 2: the commander on McHale's Navy or, you know, the guy
- 55:56Speaker 2: that played the neighbor on All in the Family. This
- 55:58Speaker 2: is what they do at these autograph conventions. Let's go
- 56:01Speaker 2: to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 56:04Speaker 18: Mark, you got me cracking up. I remember Nipsey Russell. Mark,
- 56:08Speaker 18: Kathy Hochul and Alvin Bragg must have heard your show
- 56:12Speaker 18: yesterday because look what happened when Kathy Hochul saw that
- 56:18Speaker 18: the union representing the Con Edison workers had printed placards saying,
- 56:24Speaker 18: They had to get a permit to protest down in
- 56:27Speaker 18: Foley Square. I'll bet anybody anything they want. Kathy Hochul
- 56:33Speaker 18: last night called up Alvin Bragg and said, hey. I'm
- 56:38Speaker 18: up for re-election. We can't have the black community turning
- 56:43Speaker 18: on us. She gave him a call in the middle
- 56:47Speaker 18: of the night and said, you upgrade those charges. And
- 56:50Speaker 18: on the news yesterday, they said, oh, well, they were
- 56:53Speaker 18: constantly investigating the program. Let me tell you how this
- 56:57Speaker 18: is going to go down. And hey, pal, you want
- 57:01Speaker 18: to save some money on your lawyer's fees? Listen to
- 57:04Speaker 18: Uncle Vincent. When you go to court next month, you're
- 57:08Speaker 18: not going to spend Thanksgiving with your family. They're going
- 57:12Speaker 18: to revoke your bail because that's what the wife and
- 57:14Speaker 18: the sister is screaming out. And normally, second-degree murder, you
- 57:20Speaker 18: don't get bail. Look, they didn't even give Diddy bail.
- 57:24Speaker 18: So let me tell you, pal, this is what you
- 57:26Speaker 18: should do. When you go into court next time, cop.
- 57:31Speaker 16: Cop the plea.
- 57:32Speaker 18: Because if you put the system through, spending all this
- 57:36Speaker 18: money to prosecute you, you're going to make it worse.
- 57:39Speaker 18: So this way, if you.
- 57:41Speaker 7: Cop a plea.
- 57:41Speaker 2: That's a good point, Vincent. I agree with you. Absolutely right.
- 57:43Speaker 2: You called it yesterday. And I think you're absolutely right
- 57:47Speaker 2: about everything.
- 57:48Speaker 18: He's not going to get bailed.
- 57:49Speaker 2: We've got to go do the news, Vincent. You've got
- 57:52Speaker 2: to stop at some point. But you're absolutely right. Absolutely right.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Now, why would Alvin Bragg have to
- 57:59Speaker 2: listen to Kathy Hochul? She's his boss. District attorney's a
- 58:03Speaker 2: state job. The governor can remove district attorney, so he
- 58:06Speaker 2: would have to listen to her. Hey, when we come back,
- 58:08Speaker 2: Steve Moore, the brilliant economist. We'll talk to him next
- 58:11Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
- 58:13Speaker 1: Mark Simone, live from the WOR Life Fact Studios.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, the great economist, get his book, The
- 58:23Speaker 2: Trump Economic Miracle. You'll love it and learn a lot
- 58:26Speaker 2: from it. More important, get his daily briefing. It is
- 58:30Speaker 2: the best four or five news stories, brilliant analysis. You'll
- 58:33Speaker 2: love it. It's free, absolutely free. Just go to UnleashProsperity.com.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Sign up for the hotline. Go to UnleashProsperity.com. Steve Moore,
- 58:44Speaker 2: how are you doing? Hi, Mark. I'm doing well.
- 58:47Speaker 10: Thanks for having me.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Hey, President Trump, with all these deals around the world
- 58:52Speaker 2: and tariffs and all the things he's trying to get
- 58:55Speaker 2: business back, He says he can bring back $ 20 trillion
- 58:58Speaker 2: to the U.S.? Is that possible?
- 59:01Speaker 10: That's a big number, isn't it? I think it's probably
- 59:05Speaker 10: an exaggeration.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I know that Donald Trump exaggerates. Exaggerating? Exaggerating? by Donald Trump.
- 59:10Speaker 10: That never happens with Donald Trump. But the numbers are
- 59:13Speaker 10: very good. We've imported already about $ 2. 5 trillion from the
- 59:18Speaker 10: rest of the world, and that makes us the magnet
- 59:21Speaker 10: for capital. That's why when people say the U.S. economy
- 59:24Speaker 10: is weak, it's not weak. I mean, why would everybody
- 59:26Speaker 10: be investing here? if they didn't think this was a
- 59:29Speaker 10: great environment for business, great environment for workers, et cetera.
- 59:33Speaker 10: So these are big numbers and you can almost judge
- 59:38Speaker 10: what countries are doing best economically by where, follow the money, right? Mark,
- 59:44Speaker 10: where the money goes, that's where the investment is, that's
- 59:46Speaker 10: where the jobs are, that's where the opportunities are. So
- 59:49Speaker 10: it's a pretty amazing statistic, but probably not 20 trillion,
- 59:52Speaker 10: probably closer to two to 5 trillion, but that's still
- 59:55Speaker 10: a big number.
- 59:57Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 59:57Speaker 2: But as we lost the manufacturing of everything, cars, everything, medicine,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: it all went overseas, tech products.
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: It's coming back. That's the amazing thing. A lot of
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: this is coming back. And we're seeing a manufacturing and
- 1:00:09Speaker 10: construction boom in the country right now, which is really encouraging.
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: So that's the mythology. Now, Trump has brought a lot
- 1:00:18Speaker 10: of the jobs back in the blue collar area. Now,
- 1:00:21Speaker 10: Trump would say that's because of the terrorists, but You know,
- 1:00:24Speaker 10: I think it's more a result, Mark, of the Trump big,
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: beautiful tax bill that allowed businesses to write off their taxes,
- 1:00:32Speaker 10: their expenditures for plant equipment, machinery, research and development. And
- 1:00:38Speaker 10: that's made the United States a much more financially attractive
- 1:00:42Speaker 10: place to invest in. I mean, we really are the
- 1:00:45Speaker 10: global envy of the world. You know, everybody's looking at
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: the United States and saying, you know, I want what
- 1:00:50Speaker 10: they have.
- 1:00:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Steve Moore, they keep acting like the number one issue
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: is gas prices. The number one issue. Well, gas prices
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: going up. Well, that could cost somebody, you know, an
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: extra hundred dollars a month. But Democrats have raised your
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: electric bill an extra 200 a month. So isn't that
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: the bigger problem, your electric costs?
- 1:01:11Speaker 10: Well, that's a big problem. And it's true that the
- 1:01:14Speaker 10: that the blue states have much higher electric power costs.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: You know, we.
- 1:01:19Speaker 10: We use, in addition to gasoline, you know, oil that
- 1:01:23Speaker 10: we use in our tank for our cars, you know,
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: we are massive producers of natural gas. And that's part
- 1:01:31Speaker 10: of the great bounty from Trump's drill baby drill policy.
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: And natural gas is how we get most of our
- 1:01:39Speaker 10: electric power. A lot of people don't actually even know
- 1:01:41Speaker 10: where we get our electric power comes from. A lot
- 1:01:43Speaker 10: of it comes from natural gas, and a lot of
- 1:01:45Speaker 10: it comes from good old-fashioned coal.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: And so we.
- 1:01:49Speaker 10: are paying about half as much as Europe pays because
- 1:01:52Speaker 10: they went in all in for the green stuff, the
- 1:01:55Speaker 10: wind and solar, which is fine, but it's not scalable.
- 1:01:59Speaker 10: It's very expensive to produce and it's not reliable. So
- 1:02:02Speaker 10: we have a big advantage when it comes to energy. Now,
- 1:02:05Speaker 10: on the gas prices, yes, they are up. But one
- 1:02:08Speaker 10: of the things we point out in our hotline yesterday
- 1:02:11Speaker 10: was that guess what states, Mark, have the highest gas prices?
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Uh, wild guess blue States.
- 1:02:19Speaker 10: Yeah. Guess which one?
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Uh, California, New York. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:26Speaker 10: I was just in Los Angeles, uh, about a week
- 1:02:28Speaker 10: ago and it was like six 49 a gallon there.
- 1:02:31Speaker 10: It's like a dollar to a dollar 50 higher than other,
- 1:02:35Speaker 10: other States. So, you know, I don't get the logic.
- 1:02:38Speaker 10: If you're angry about gas prices, I am, I hate,
- 1:02:40Speaker 10: you know, paying $ 80 to fill up my tank. But,
- 1:02:43Speaker 10: you know, you pay the highest gas prices in the
- 1:02:45Speaker 10: states that are run by Democrats. So do you think
- 1:02:47Speaker 10: they're going to lower the price when they get into power?
- 1:02:49Speaker 10: I doubt it.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Yeah. But here in New York, Kathy Ogle blocking the
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: natural gas, Cuomo shutting down Indian Point, that quadrupled everybody's
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: electric bill. So what is the actual opposition to natural gas?
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: It's as clean as can be.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:03:05Speaker 10: Do you remember that famous incident when Nancy Pelosi says, well,
- 1:03:09Speaker 10: I'm against fossil fuels, but I like natural gas? And
- 1:03:13Speaker 10: somebody had to point out to the Speaker of the
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: House that natural gas is a fossil fuel. But natural
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: gas is clean. It's efficient.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: It's abundant.
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: It's made in America. It should be the fuel of
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: choice for America. And we are producing a lot of it.
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: We are now the number one producer of natural gas,
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: and we're the number one producer of oil today. So
- 1:03:34Speaker 10: this drill baby drill policy is working. The problem is
- 1:03:36Speaker 10: we got all these problems overseas in Russia and in
- 1:03:39Speaker 10: the Middle East that are raising the gas price. It's
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: not like there's a shortage of gas. Now, Trump, you
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: may have seen he's taking a lot of flack for saying, well,
- 1:03:47Speaker 10: this benefits the United States, the fact that oil prices
- 1:03:49Speaker 10: are high. I would not have put it like that.
- 1:03:51Speaker 10: But it is true that, you know, when you and
- 1:03:54Speaker 10: I were kids, we were, remember, we're importing all this
- 1:03:56Speaker 10: oil from Saudi Arabia and the OPEC countries, and they
- 1:03:59Speaker 10: had a stranglehold on the U.S.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Economy.
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: And the good news is now that we're the number
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: one producer, you can't have a cartel if you don't
- 1:04:07Speaker 10: have the number one producer in your cartel. So we've
- 1:04:09Speaker 10: really defanged OPEC in a very positive way by just
- 1:04:12Speaker 10: producing more oil and gas here at home in Texas
- 1:04:15Speaker 10: and Oklahoma and New Mexico. And by the way, one
- 1:04:18Speaker 10: of the states, Mark, that has the most oil is California.
- 1:04:23Speaker 10: And yet they refuse to go after it. And then
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: it'd be like Alaska running.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Out of ice.
- 1:04:29Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: So our economy, forget the gas prices, our economy otherwise
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: is doing very well. Is that the case all over
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: the world? Is everybody else doing very well with their economy?
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Not Europe. Not Europe.
- 1:04:45Speaker 10: And by the way, China has actually been in a
- 1:04:47Speaker 10: kind of a mini depression themselves. Their stock market's been flat,
- 1:04:51Speaker 10: whereas ours keeps going up and up and up. But
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: the big problem is socialist Europe. Look what's happening in France, Italy, Germany, U.K.,
- 1:05:00Speaker 10: real problems in those countries and uh and they they
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: are uh more socialist so why would we want to
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: be more like them when our economy is doing so
- 1:05:09Speaker 10: much better i don't understand these democrat socialists who say
- 1:05:12Speaker 10: oh let's be more like you know germany and germany
- 1:05:14Speaker 10: practically has de-industrialized their economy with all of the socialism
- 1:05:19Speaker 10: and the green energy stuff so we should not use
- 1:05:22Speaker 10: europe as a model europe is now a model of
- 1:05:25Speaker 10: what not to do oh hey.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: This whole um free everything, free buses, free the, it's
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: just a welfare system. Sometimes it's great, but sometimes can
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: be abused. What does this do to our economy, these expenses?
- 1:05:44Speaker 10: Well, I always like to go back to one of
- 1:05:46Speaker 10: my heroes, Ronald Reagan, who used to say, you know,
- 1:05:48Speaker 10: economy that's big enough, you know, I mean, a government
- 1:05:51Speaker 10: that's big enough to give you everything you want is
- 1:05:54Speaker 10: big enough to take everything you've got. And so, yeah,
- 1:05:56Speaker 10: we can have all this free stuff, but, you know,
- 1:05:58Speaker 10: who's going to pay for the free stuff? You know,
- 1:06:01Speaker 10: you and I are only going to raise our taxes
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: through the roof, and that's not a very good formula
- 1:06:06Speaker 10: for economic success. I mean, you should, you know, why
- 1:06:09Speaker 10: do people work? They work so they can get an
- 1:06:11Speaker 10: income so they can buy things. If you give everything
- 1:06:14Speaker 10: to people for free, free health care, free daycare, free food,
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: free housing, free this, free that, you think people are
- 1:06:19Speaker 10: going to go out and work?
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: Medicare, too. Now they're pushing this Medicare for all. Has
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: this ever worked anywhere, this kind of government health care
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: for all?
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: Well, I hope people will go to our website at
- 1:06:31Speaker 10: UnleashedPossibility.com and look at our new ad that shows that,
- 1:06:35Speaker 10: you know, Medicare for all, you know, it's basically Democrats
- 1:06:38Speaker 10: are going to destroy Medicare because Medicare for all means
- 1:06:41Speaker 10: nobody's going to get Medicare. I mean, it's already in
- 1:06:44Speaker 10: shaky finances. They want to add 100 million more people
- 1:06:46Speaker 10: to it. I mean, that's going to bankrupt Medicare. So
- 1:06:50Speaker 10: seniors should be very nervous about this. This is a
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: terrible idea. It's a Bernie Sanders idea. Put everybody on Medicare.
- 1:06:56Speaker 10: Everybody gets free health care. You know, I don't know
- 1:06:59Speaker 10: what that health care is going to look like, but
- 1:07:00Speaker 10: I don't think it should be very good quality care.
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: And seniors who depend on Medicare are going to lose
- 1:07:07Speaker 10: the quality care that they get right now from Medicare.
- 1:07:10Speaker 10: So it's a really terrible idea. It puts Medicare in danger.
- 1:07:15Speaker 10: And seniors should really think about whether that's what you
- 1:07:17Speaker 10: want because a majority of the Democrats in Congress support
- 1:07:21Speaker 10: Bernie Sanders' bill, Medicare for All.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Yeah. And why is that? I mean, it doesn't work.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: It's never worked. It always stinks. Is there unions involved?
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Is there some reason these Congressmen and women want to
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: do this?
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: They think that this is the way to lower the
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: prices for health care.
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: Now, look.
- 1:07:42Speaker 10: I'm not a big fan of the health insurance companies.
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: I do think we pay way too much for health care.
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: I think most people would agree with that. But it's
- 1:07:49Speaker 10: because we have too much government, not too little. If
- 1:07:52Speaker 10: we had a free market in health care, if we
- 1:07:54Speaker 10: paid for health care the way we pay for everything else,
- 1:07:56Speaker 10: I think you could cut health care costs significantly. But
- 1:08:00Speaker 10: it's because the government, you know, you've seen those charts, Mark.
- 1:08:03Speaker 10: What are the two industries over the last 50 years
- 1:08:05Speaker 10: that have had the highest increase in prices? Education and
- 1:08:08Speaker 10: health care, both run by government.
- 1:08:10Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Well, interesting stuff. That's why you should get the hotline.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: It's the best daily briefing every day. It's free. Absolutely free.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Come write your email free. Just go to UnleashProsperity.com. Sign
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: up for the hotline, UnleashProsperity.com. Steve Moore, great as always.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: Thanks for being with us. Okay, Mark.
- 1:08:30Speaker 10: Have a great week.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Take care. Take care. Hey, we've got a lot coming up,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: a lot to get to. We'll– We'll get to the
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Hochul plan. If, God forbid, she gets reelected, what is
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: she planning to do? You're not going to like it.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: We'll get to that coming up. At noon, it's Buck
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Sexton and Clay Travis. Buck and Clay is a huge
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: show now every day. And then at 3 o'clock, you've
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: got the most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: You've got Jesse Kelly at 6. You've got the very
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: funny Jimmy Fallon at 9. Every night on 710WOR. It's
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Only on 710WOR.
- 1:09:10Speaker 13: All right.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: So I'm updating the software on my iPhone. To 27.2.
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: How about that? So you can install the new software.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: I did that. I hit it and then it says
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: about 46 minutes remaining. It's going to take 46 minutes
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: to install this? I'm doing the show. I look back.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: About five hours remaining.
- 1:09:39Speaker 7: What?
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: It went to five hours? Then I look back up
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: to two hours. Okay. That's three hours that went by
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: in 30 seconds. Then I look back, about 27 minutes remaining.
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: All right, let me look at it now. About six
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: minutes remaining. It was five hours a second ago. So
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: this is the most brilliant invention ever, the iPhone. Apple's
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a brilliant company, but they can't figure it. See, now
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: it's eight minutes. They can't figure out how long it's
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: going to take to install this. Hey, by the way,
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: big Apple unveiling this afternoon. About one o'clock it'll begin.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: They're going to unveil a brand new series of mini iPads,
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: MacBook Pros, the laptops, and the desktops, the iMacs. They'll
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: unveil a whole new batch later today. They look pretty
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: good from what I'm seeing, so keep an eye on that.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: We got another hour to go. It's three hours every day.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: It's 9 a.m. till noon every day. We'll be back
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: right after the news here on 710WOR.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: You're listening to The Mark Simone Show.
- 1:10:49Speaker 12: WOR.
- 1:10:49Speaker 17: Hey.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: I'm going to check in on Israel.
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: There's no word yet.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: No winner. Netanyahu is slightly ahead. Slightly ahead right now
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: in Israel. There is no.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Real answer here. It looked like Netanyahu was going to
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: be defeated, but he has pulled ahead. He got almost 80%
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: of the vote in. He has a very slight lead.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Looks like he will most likely hold on to it,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: but it's not certain. He can't declare a winner yet
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: in Israel. Now, in the U.S., our election is next week.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: It's six days from now. The most important one for
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: us right here is getting Bruce Blakeman elected governor. That
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: could really straighten out a lot of things that could
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: keep a lid also on the Mamdani craziness. They got
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: all kinds of plans. If the Democrats win, they got
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: all kinds of plans. As Blakeman has pointed out, if
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Hoka wins, she is planning to bring the congestion pricing
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: to everybody. Right now, it's midtown Manhattan. You got to
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: pay $ 9, like a $ 9 congestion pricing fee every time
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: you enter Manhattan. If Hochul wins, she's planning to do
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: it everywhere. Brooklyn, Flatbush Avenue will be congestion pricing. Queens Boulevard,
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Northern Boulevard, they'll be congestion pricing. If you live in
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: the Bronx, Tremont Avenue, Staten Island, the Staten Island Expressway,
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: you're going to have congestion pricing. They're also going to
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: bring it to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton, It's an
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: idiotic idea. It is the worst thing in the world.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: She is claiming the MTA needs the money. That's absolutely false.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: The MTA budget is double what it should be. If
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: they would get the costs under control, stop the waste,
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: stop the bloat, stop the fraud, they'd have more than
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: enough money. Also, if Hochul wins, apparently she's planning to
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: raise taxes, just regular old taxes. Mamdani is out there
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: campaigning with her. It looks like they've made some kind
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: of deal. You remember last year, she had to bail
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: Mamdani out with the budget, like send him about $ 8
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: billion or something. So apparently the deal is if Hochul
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: wins with Mamdani's support and endorsement, she'll raise taxes to
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: pay for Mamdani's socialist agenda. There'll be an increase in
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: income tax, property tax, higher taxes on farms, on small businesses,
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: massive inheritance tax. Mamdani wants this because he wants to
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: pay for his socialist nonsense. He wants to pay fortune
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: for illegals, take care of illegal migrants and all their
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: bills and all of that. Oh, I'm getting an important text.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Look at that. Early voting is ending soon. Make sure
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: you vote early. All right, well, that's a good message.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Do the early voting. You can do it all this week.
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: You can do it over the weekend. If you do
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: early voting, there's no line. You just breeze right through.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: It'll be much, much easier. But Hochul, with her nonsense.
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: He must like a lot of traffic, higher accidents, slower
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: response time, less money to fund the MTA and Long
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: Island Railroad, and not really care about congestion.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Yeah, the congestion pricing has not brought down trafficking. Has
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: not increased response time. She's produced a couple of fake
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: studies that mean nothing. Speaking of which, the fake polls
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: are coming out left and right right now, yesterday and today.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: College polls, media polls, totally rigged. If we have experts
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: look into the metrics, the sampling is totally rigged. The
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: most biased polls. You know, the funniest thing is in
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: most of these polls, they totally, totally contradict each other.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: So it's just the most rigged polling in the world.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: Don't take any of it seriously. Everything is rigged nowadays.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: These polls are totally fraudulent. Here's a new study that
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: just came out. News sites, you know, like Apple News.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: You got your iPhone, you got your computer, and it
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: says Apple News. It'll bring you all the news.
- 1:15:19Speaker 7: Well, okay.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Seems pretty easy. You sign up for Apple News. A
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: recent study by Media Research showed that Apple News... pushed
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: 84 negative headlines about the GOP, zero positive. It is
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: the most biased, slanted news. They analyzed Apple's top 20
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: stories every day for a week. It was like 84% anti-GOP.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: It's the most slanted news in the world. And millions
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: of voters used this stupid Apple news. Do not rely
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: on it. Yahoo News, Microsoft News, Seemed to be just
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: as bad. It is the most slanted, biased news in
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: the world. Yesterday, you remember we were talking about Dan Rather?
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: He's really the father of fake news. Now, in the
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: good old days of CBS, I mean the heyday, you know,
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: the Walter Cronkite days or even the Edward R. Murrow,
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: they were all kind of left-wing guys. They were Democrats.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: They were liberals, which is fine. But Cronkite and the others,
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: they didn't let it. effect their on-air work. Oh, once
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: in a while you could tell it was a little slightly,
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: the wording was a little liberal. Little, just a hair,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: just a hair. But that's all it ever was. Then
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Dan Rather takes over the evening news and he decides
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: to weaponize it. He decides to weaponize CBS News. He'll
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: use it to change public opinion. You're just supposed to
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: report the news. But he starts slanting it and slanting
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: it and slanting it. I think the first big example,
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: remember when it was George H.W. Bush, Bush seniors running
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: against Bill Clinton. So Rather started doing what they're doing now,
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: try to make it look like the economy stinks. Our
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: economy right now is booming. Gas prices are a little high,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: but otherwise, economy is booming right now. So Rather launched
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: a series every night. The CBS Evening News would open
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: with a couple of headlines and then it would say,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Also coming up, our special feature, Economy in Crisis. And
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: then every night they would do this special feature. This
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: dramatic music would come on and it would say, Economy
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: in Crisis. And then they would tell you how bad
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: the economy was. It wasn't true. They would just do
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: this feature every night leading up to the election. Then
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: election night, Bill Clinton got elected.
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: The next day, there was no CBS News feature, Economy
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: in Crisis. It went away just like that. They dropped it.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: and Rather started pulling crap like that. He started slanting, biasing, rigging, faking.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: It got to the point where he was just into
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: out and out fake news. Remember, by the time it
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: was George W. Bush, they made up a whole fake
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: story that he had gone AWOL in the National Guard.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: There was no truth to this. It was a total
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: fiction from Dan Rather. But at one point, he decided
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: he would do a full piece on it. He even
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: put it on 60 Minutes on the CBS Evening News
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: where he had these documents from back then, from the
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: commanding office, documents proving that he had gone AWOL. Well,
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: it turned out the documents were fake. By then it was,
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: you know, we were in the internet digital world and
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: all these online guys looked at the documents and they
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: noticed the documents were typed in a font that did
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: not exist back then. There was no such font back
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: in whenever this was supposed to be in the 90s.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: And then they examined the documents. They found out they
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: were totally complete forgeries. And at the time in the
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: National Guard, Bush had a commanding officer. And apparently this
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: commanding officer was telling people Bush never went AWOL. In fact,
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: he was a pilot. He was one of the best
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: pilots I ever saw in the Air National Guard. He
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: was one of my finest. Well, they wouldn't put this
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: guy on the air. They wouldn't put him on the air,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: but rather found some secretary that had worked there back
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: then who said, well, the documents may be false, but that's...
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: That's what this guy really would have said had they
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: found this officer. So they put her on the air. Now,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: the guy had died, so they couldn't put him on.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: But his wife said, no, he never would have written
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: a document like that. They wouldn't put her on the air.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: So it was total fabricated fake news from Rather. It
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: got really ugly. It got to the point where even
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: CBS had to launch an investigation. And they brought in
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: legitimate investigators from the outside, real serious investigators. They investigated.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: You can read the report online. They found out that
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Rather had totally faked the whole story using fake forged documents.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: And the biggest, most famous anchor in television, Dan Rather,
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: had to be fired. CBS News fired him. He left
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: CBS in absolute, total disgrace. And, of course, you haven't
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: heard from him since. he's, oh, once in a while
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: he appears on something. There's a great publication called Barrett Media.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: It's like the best, you should read Barrett every day.
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: It covers radio, but it covers everything else. So they,
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: I don't know, this is what Dan Rather's up to now.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Barrett sits down with Dan Rather, who talks about how
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: damaged CBS News is now. So this, he's about 95 now,
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Dan Rather. He's an old, old, and I like Dan Rather.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: I mean, Personally, he's a nice guy. But the founding
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: father of fake news, very bitter now. So they interview him.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: And he said, I don't know if CBS News can
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: even be fixed. It's so damaged. What the damage was,
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: 60 Minutes was faking pieces and using deceptive editing and
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: all kinds of crap. They've been sued over it. The
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: Trump administration went after him. They had to settle for
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: like $ 20 million. I mean, it's just terrible. So this
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: new CBS News had Barry Weiss. is cleaning it up,
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: you know, trying to make it legitimate. So Rather interprets
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: this as very damaged. I don't know if it can
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: even be repaired, it's so damaged. So he's still out there,
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: this crabby old Dan Rather, fighting for his fake news
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: to continue. You know how they banned the horse from
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Central Park, the horse and carriage, they're going to get
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: banned because somebody got killed by a horse and carriage.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: One death in 100 years. They're banning the horses and carriages.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: E-bikes have had 133 deaths just in the last couple
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: of years. They're not banning those. Lithium batteries. There was
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: another one that exploded yesterday in one of the NYCHA houses.
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: The lithium battery exploded, killing somebody. This is not the
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: first time. These e-bikes, e-cars, they've got these lithium batteries,
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: the most dangerous things in the world. They explode. A
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: lot of people have been killed I don't see the
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: city council banning the lithium batteries anywhere in New York.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: Where's the ban on that? The horse is one death
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: in 100 years. That was it. So it's unbelievable. Hey, also, Barrett,
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: Barrett Media, you should read it every day. There's an article,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: interview with Jesse Kelly, who said, talk radio better realize
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: the Trump era is coming to an end pretty soon
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: in two years. And, you know, he's got a point there.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: You know, the day before Trump announced in 2015, talk
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: radio was a whole different world. Once Trump got in
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: the race, boy, he became the lead story every day.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: It's been that way for 11 years. And it's been
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: incredible for talk radio. Talk radio has 63 million listeners
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: every day. It's exciting with Trump. You don't love him
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: or hate him. It's exciting stuff every day for talk radio.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Jesse Kelly pointing out there's only two years left of Trump. Now,
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: when he gets out of office, he could still be,
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: you know, saying all kinds of things, but it won't
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: be the same because he won't be in office, in power.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: And by then he'll be 82, and he's got to
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: slow down at some point. So Jesse Kelly's saying talk
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: radio has to pivot. I mean, he's got a point there.
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: We can't cover J.D. Vance all day. That's not that exciting.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Marco Rubio is brilliant. He's great, but it's not exciting
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: talk radio every day. So I don't know. But they
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: did this years ago when Rush Limbaugh became the biggest
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: thing in the world, yelling and screaming at Bill Clinton.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: And then when Bill Clinton left, I remember every trade
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: magazine saying, well, that's it for talk radio. There'd be
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: nothing to talk about without Bill Clinton. Well, Rush did
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: even better. It's always going to work. Yeah, he's right.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: You do have to pivot a little. But it'll always, always, always,
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: there'll always be stuff for talk radio. Hey, we have
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: a great sponsor. It's PC Richard & Son. I just
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: want to congratulate them. PC Richard & Son is now
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: celebrating 117 years in business. I'm a big PC Richard &
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Son fan. I shop there. I love that place. And
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: they're really, it's a great place to buy. And you
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: can trust them on appliances, mattresses, whatever it is. Five generations.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: One family has been running this. And they're nice people.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: Greg Richard and the whole family. Hands-on. They're in the stores.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: They're in the warehouses. It's such a well-run company. P.C.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Richard & Son, 117 years. You know, they've been a
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: sponsor here for a long time. We really appreciate that.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: But our listeners have gone there. Always thank us for
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: recommending them. So we wish them a very, very happy birthday.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: 117 years. Happy birthday, P.C. Richard & Son. Hey, we'll
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. Give us
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: a call.
- 1:25:32Speaker 12: 800-321-0710.
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: No.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays.
- 1:25:34Speaker 8: 710WOR.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800- 3-2-1-0-7-10 is the number. 800-3-2-1-0-7-10.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: Let's go to Don in New York City. Don, how
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 1:26:06Speaker 12: Yes, hello, Mark.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: Recently, I was in a doctor's office in the waiting room,
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: and they had a special report on Jeffrey Epstein. And
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: every photograph of Jeffrey, there was also Donald Trump was
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: in it.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about? You're in a
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: doctor's waiting room. Where was this report?
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: On either NBC or CBS.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Oh, oh, oh, yeah. They're trying to, um, yeah, I
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: see what you mean. There's, um, um, some woman is
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: now claiming, uh, she was raped by Donald Trump with
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Jeffrey Epstein, something. It's, it sounds like a total fake story.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't take it. That's why most people are not
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: reporting it, except the fake news. They're running with it,
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: but it seems to be a ridiculous story. Just, you
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: can get the Epstein files. They're up online. You can
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: read through them. It's a couple million pages, but, uh,
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: You can read through them. If you read the Epstein files,
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: all you see is that Epstein hated Donald Trump. They
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: were bitter enemies and a lot of stuff in there.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: But Epstein was plotting with this little wormy weasel, Michael Wolff,
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: on how they could destroy Donald Trump, how they could
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: bring him down. Oh, did he hate Donald Trump? But
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: go to the Epstein files. There's a search thing in there.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: Just type in any name you can search. It's pretty
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: interesting reading. Let's go to Chris in Montreal, Canada.
- 1:27:23Speaker 16: Chris?
- 1:27:24Speaker 18: No, good morning.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: No, I'm not Montreal today.
- 1:27:26Speaker 16: I'm in New York.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: Well, it says Montreal here.
- 1:27:28Speaker 16: I even told him Manhattan.
- 1:27:29Speaker 8: Oh.
- 1:27:29Speaker 7: Huh?
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Chris in the Manhattan.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: He's the panicking. Everything is always disaster.
- 1:27:36Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:27:36Speaker 19: Well, no, not today.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: The guy is cast.
- 1:27:41Speaker 17: I heard an ad yesterday from Letitia James encouraging people
- 1:27:45Speaker 17: who shouldn't be voting that they don't have to worry
- 1:27:47Speaker 17: about anything, that they can go and vote anyway.
- 1:27:50Speaker 16: How is that even legal?
- 1:27:52Speaker 17: Like, who's legal that has to worry about showing up
- 1:27:55Speaker 17: at a polling place and having.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: ICE get them? Well, she's done things that are legally
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: questionable anyway. Her primary residence or other residence.
- 1:28:04Speaker 17: I know, but that specifically. And also I saw an
- 1:28:06Speaker 17: ad for Kathy Hochul where there's this ER doctor.
- 1:28:10Speaker 16: Looking very, you know, suspicious.
- 1:28:13Speaker 17: He's looking in the camera and saying he's so worried
- 1:28:16Speaker 17: about the Medicaid cuts.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: That Blakeman wants. Yeah, there's no Medicaid cuts. No Medicaid
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: cuts from Blakeman. Your doctors don't.
- 1:28:21Speaker 16: Have regular patients.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Well, that's what you have to do if you're Hochul
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: and you're tied in the polls all of a sudden.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: You've got to start doing vicious attack ads. She spent
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: $ 6 million last week on these attack ads.
- 1:28:35Speaker 17: But that thing with Letitia James, that really should be
- 1:28:38Speaker 17: looked into. Who's legal that... has to worry about showing
- 1:28:41Speaker 17: up to vote?
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: And that's all she was doing. Should be looked into,
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: but she's the Attorney General, so good luck with that.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: But listen, when they get desperate, they're like cornered rats.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: They get desperate. Let's go to Paul in Long Island. Paul,
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: Yeah, hi, Mark.
- 1:28:56Speaker 16: Good morning.
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: Yes, Paul.
- 1:28:59Speaker 12: So, you know, the people that want the horses taken out,
- 1:29:05Speaker 12: they're snobs. They just don't like the smell, and that's
- 1:29:08Speaker 12: the bottom line.
- 1:29:09Speaker 16: That's what it's about.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: Well, luckily, I have allergies. I can't smell them. No,
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: that could be the reason. But the other, it is
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: an elitist kind of thing. But it's believed they want
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: the land that the stables are on. There's two huge
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: stables for those horses, one near Hudson Yards, one near
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: the Javits Center. It could be very valuable real estate,
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: a lot of big real estate interests. might want those properties.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: And at city council, that governor, those Democrats, they're very, well,
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: they're like taxi cabs. You can hire them. They should
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: have easy passes on them. All you gotta do is
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: put money in and you can go wherever you want
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: with them. Let's go to Greg in Jersey city. Greg,
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:29:52Speaker 18: Good.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Thank you, Mark.
- 1:29:54Speaker 12: On your comments on being rather conservative, I don't know
- 1:29:57Speaker 12: if you remember, when he got forced out at CBS,
- 1:30:01Speaker 12: the only person that extended him a lifeline was Mark Cuban,
- 1:30:04Speaker 12: who assigned him to do this show on that Axis
- 1:30:08Speaker 12: cable channel.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've got to remember, Mark Cuban was trying
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: to start some media thing, and it was hopeless in
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: those days. Online meant nothing. So to grab a big
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: name would have suddenly given his little venture some status.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: It wasn't that he was a Dan Rather fan.
- 1:30:26Speaker 12: Yeah, it was just strange watching Rather interview people like
- 1:30:29Speaker 12: Robert Plant or Steve Perry, people like 20 years outside
- 1:30:33Speaker 12: of his age range. It was just strange.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: Yeah, some of those are up on YouTube. They're actually
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: not bad. Some of them are interviews, people he doesn't
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: know how to interview. I think there's one with Don Rickles.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: It's Dan Rather for like a half hour interviewing them.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: You know, he wasn't bad at that. I mean, he
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: didn't know what he was talking about, but he was
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: pretty folksy. He's got a nice folksy way about him.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: If he wasn't crooked with the fake news and he
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: wasn't so biased and had he just been Dan rather
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: the nice guy, he could have been as big as Cronkite.
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: You never know. Although he wasn't as likable as Cronkite.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Let's go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph, how you doing?
- 1:31:11Speaker 13: Hey, Mark, you know, Jesse Kelly may be on to something.
- 1:31:14Speaker 13: You know, the talk show host has gotten a little
- 1:31:17Speaker 13: bit lazy. And, you know, without Trump, what the heck
- 1:31:20Speaker 13: do you talk about? You know, if you just mention
- 1:31:23Speaker 13: Trump's name, you have a conversation. Now they're actually going
- 1:31:27Speaker 13: to have to improvise a little bit. Not you, of course,
- 1:31:30Speaker 13: but the others I'm talking about.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the others don't have their own content, but I
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: can do fine without. I mean, we love talking about Trump,
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: but I don't know if you ever noticed this. But
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: once in a while, I'll do an hour with no
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: politics at all in it. And nobody's ever noticed. I
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: just do it every once in a while to test
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: it out. Nobody's ever noticed. Let's go to Neil in Brooklyn. Neil,
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: how you doing? Thank you, Mark.
- 1:31:56Speaker 20: Mark, in this multicultural city, I always try to get
- 1:31:59Speaker 20: along with people for, you know, most of my life.
- 1:32:03Speaker 20: And because it's a safe country, you don't get many
- 1:32:05Speaker 20: chances to.
- 1:32:06Speaker 12: Be a hero.
- 1:32:07Speaker 20: But when I voted Republican the other day, I felt
- 1:32:10Speaker 20: like it was my Oscar Schindler moment. I'm trying to
- 1:32:13Speaker 20: save humanity.
- 1:32:15Speaker 18: All right.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: Well, there you go. A little hyperbolic there. A little
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: over-the-top exaggeration.
- 1:32:20Speaker 6: No, I know.
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: A little dramatic. Not dramatic. Donald Trump couldn't exaggerate that much.
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about saving humanity? You're
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: not Oscar Schindler, but it's good that you voted. Everybody
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: get out there. Do the early voting. You can vote
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: all week. You can vote on the weekend, but do
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: the early voting. There's no line. You go right in
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: there and vote. Don't wait until Election Day. Do the
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: early voting this week. Hey, when we come back, we'll
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: talk to Ann Coulter. She'll be with us next. Lots
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: to talk to her about just ahead on 710WOR.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, Mark Simone.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: Well, with us right now, the best-selling author, the great columnist,
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Ann Coulter. And we've got lots to talk to her about.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Make sure you follow her on Twitter. Even better is Substack,
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: because there she's got podcasts and videos, all sorts of stuff.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: And start watching Ann Coulter's Rumble channel. A lot of
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: good content there. Ann Coulter, how are you doing? Fantastic.
- 1:33:23Speaker 8: How are you, Mark Simone?
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: I'm good. You're a Cornell alumni.
- 1:33:28Speaker 12: What happened?
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: It's not in the news anymore. I don't see anything
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: about Cornell anymore.
- 1:33:33Speaker 8: I think maybe the media figured out that the accused
- 1:33:38Speaker 8: were diverse.
- 1:33:40Speaker 12: Oh.
- 1:33:40Speaker 8: So it's not really their kind of case. They prefer
- 1:33:45Speaker 8: the falsely accused Duke lacrosse players, the falsely accused UVA fraternity.
- 1:33:51Speaker 8: And here, the accused rapists and the, I guess, acknowledged
- 1:34:00Speaker 8: orgy participants um or a muslim an african-american uh an
- 1:34:07Speaker 8: asian meaning oriental not indian um and two hispanics and
- 1:34:12Speaker 8: the only two white guys it was any involvement are
- 1:34:16Speaker 8: the ones who um saw the the tweet free um
- 1:34:20Speaker 8: i can't say it on radio but everybody knows what
- 1:34:22Speaker 8: it is because media's and all oh free.
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: Uh yes uh body part free body.
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: For right right feet open genitalia crude term for female
- 1:34:33Speaker 8: genitalia that the pent-up by uh... jonathan newell the african-american
- 1:34:37Speaker 8: fishery boy uh... at and that they were all taking
- 1:34:40Speaker 8: drugs uh... and the two white paternity guide saw that
- 1:34:45Speaker 8: snapchat and uh... both by their account and the account
- 1:34:51Speaker 8: of the alleged victim jane dole They just went up
- 1:34:56Speaker 8: to break up whatever was going on. They were alarmed
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: or befuddled by this text. So they checked in. They
- 1:35:04Speaker 8: were there for less than five minutes, never laid a
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: finger on her, which she herself told the police at
- 1:35:10Speaker 8: the time. So it's not really fitting in. with the
- 1:35:15Speaker 8: media's favorite narrative, which is it's got to be all
- 1:35:19Speaker 8: white gang rapists. Remember, it all started with Tawana Brawley,
- 1:35:22Speaker 8: and she accused white male prosecutor, white male policeman.
- 1:35:28Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: I like the way you call them orgy participants. It
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: makes it sound so legitimate.
- 1:35:37Speaker 8: The case is nuts. I mean, many have pointed out today,
- 1:35:43Speaker 8: perhaps you're one of them, I haven't been up long
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: enough to do much tweeting today. There is this shocking, appalling,
- 1:35:53Speaker 8: this really, a knife point rape at 67th, just off
- 1:35:58Speaker 8: 5th Avenue. Are you kidding? Why isn't everyone leaving New York?
- 1:36:04Speaker 8: I mean, everybody knows who can hear my voice right now,
- 1:36:08Speaker 8: I suspect. But these are $ 10, $ 20 million apartments right there.
- 1:36:13Speaker 8: This is Central Park. which was totally safe during Giuliani
- 1:36:18Speaker 8: and Bloomberg. A girl could cross it late at night,
- 1:36:21Speaker 8: and you would be totally safe. Now at 8.30 p.m.,
- 1:36:25Speaker 8: you're not safe from a knife-point rape. And meanwhile, have
- 1:36:29Speaker 8: we heard anything? What's Hochul doing about that? How about
- 1:36:33Speaker 8: assigning a special prosecutor, a special task force for that? Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:36:39Speaker 8: But we'll shut down government to investigate an alleged gang
- 1:36:43Speaker 8: rape that... Sure looks consensual.
- 1:36:47Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: Hey, explain this to me. The nerve of Democrats. You know,
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: they've controlled every inch of New York for 15 years.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: Democrat mayor, Democrat city council, Democrat legislature, Democrat governor. And
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: now they're complaining there's an affordability crisis. Wouldn't that be
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: on them?
- 1:37:07Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: Yes. Well, I mean, the... The pristine example of that,
- 1:37:14Speaker 8: not only in New York, but San Francisco, I mean,
- 1:37:16Speaker 8: any place that has rent control, apartments overnight become unaffordable
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: for obvious reasons. And apartments get really, really crappy. And
- 1:37:28Speaker 8: you can look around the country and see wherever there
- 1:37:34Speaker 8: is rent control, immediately prices go up, quality goes down. But,
- 1:37:40Speaker 8: I mean, you have this lobby... This is the problem with, quote, democracy,
- 1:37:47Speaker 8: when people who don't care about the good of society,
- 1:37:52Speaker 8: of the town, of the country, of the state, but
- 1:37:55Speaker 8: just let me make more money. Just give me, give me,
- 1:37:58Speaker 8: give me, give me more. And, you know, sometimes it's
- 1:38:03Speaker 8: the rich farmers, the rich Republicans who want their cheap
- 1:38:08Speaker 8: foreign labor, but sometimes it's the... The denizens, the lucky
- 1:38:14Speaker 8: winners of rent-controlled apartments, even though participating in this fraud
- 1:38:20Speaker 8: drives up prices and lowers quality for everyone else in
- 1:38:23Speaker 8: the city, I'm supposed to say, oh, that's great that
- 1:38:26Speaker 8: you have a rent-controlled apartment. No, I always want to
- 1:38:29Speaker 8: kick those people.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Hey, apparently word is if Hochul gets re-elected, she's planning
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: all kinds of new taxes, increasing income tax, property tax,
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: every tax to help fund Mamdani's nonsense. I mean, what
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: is wrong with these people? They want to just They've
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: already had double the budget they should have. What is
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: wrong with Democrats?
- 1:38:55Speaker 8: What they will end up doing is exactly the opposite
- 1:38:58Speaker 8: of what they say they want to do, and that is,
- 1:39:02Speaker 8: as you say, deal with affordability. Make it possible for
- 1:39:06Speaker 8: middle-class people to live somewhere in New York and not
- 1:39:10Speaker 8: be forced to move to Iowa or something. It will
- 1:39:16Speaker 8: be a city.
- 1:39:18Speaker 8: You know, like the Soviet Union, like Caracas, of the very,
- 1:39:22Speaker 8: very uber-rich, who it'll be unfair how much they're paying
- 1:39:27Speaker 8: in taxes. They might squawk, but they'll either strike a
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: special deal with the powers that be, or they'll just say, oh, well,
- 1:39:38Speaker 8: and the very poor, who are their servants. Boy, talk
- 1:39:43Speaker 8: about the czar's courts. I was just thinking about that with,
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: you know, humble middle-class people who maybe have a pied-a-terre
- 1:39:53Speaker 8: in New York. They're the ones who are going to
- 1:39:55Speaker 8: get screwed, not Ken Griffin, whose apartment– I mean, I
- 1:40:00Speaker 8: love the guy. I'm not complaining about it. But him,
- 1:40:03Speaker 8: I think it's outrageous that Momdami stood in front of
- 1:40:05Speaker 8: his apartment to gin up this.
- 1:40:08Speaker 20: Envy of the rich.
- 1:40:10Speaker 8: That's never gotten any society anyplace and was always the
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: great thing about America, which you still see in the
- 1:40:18Speaker 8: MAGA movement and their support for Donald Trump. They're not
- 1:40:22Speaker 8: resentful of his wealth, but that was really sleazy Mondami
- 1:40:26Speaker 8: standing in front of Ken Griffin's apartment denouncing him in
- 1:40:29Speaker 8: particular by name. showing this apartment and saying, oh, he
- 1:40:33Speaker 8: should pay a little bit more.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: Oh, good grief.
- 1:40:35Speaker 8: The rich already pay through the nose. The middle class
- 1:40:38Speaker 8: already pays through the nose. But they're the ones who
- 1:40:42Speaker 8: are going to leave. Middle class.
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: So, hey, Ann Coulter, tell us about Europe, France, Paris,
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: all these cities, Milan, burning every weekend. They got a
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: problem that's going to take decades to fix, don't they?
- 1:41:00Speaker 8: Well, you know, I wrote about this this summer when
- 1:41:04Speaker 8: I was in London for a spell. You see these videos,
- 1:41:10Speaker 8: and I mean, what's going on in France is, of course,
- 1:41:12Speaker 8: utterly ridiculous and appalling. And it is bringing in, it
- 1:41:17Speaker 8: isn't Muslims, it's not Palestinians, it's not Marxists. I mean,
- 1:41:21Speaker 8: they'll all take advantage of it the same way Antifa
- 1:41:24Speaker 8: would leap on these things and fight with the police
- 1:41:27Speaker 8: during the BLM riots. It's immigrants from Africa who are
- 1:41:31Speaker 8: just looting and burning and arsoning. And, you know, I
- 1:41:37Speaker 8: don't know why any country would do this. You have
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: a nice country, France. Same thing with England. England has
- 1:41:44Speaker 8: more of the Islamic, you know, 20 wives, Muslims. And
- 1:41:49Speaker 8: you see these videos, but keep in mind, England is
- 1:41:53Speaker 8: still 88% white European. France is still 90 to 92
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: percent white European. America is hanging on by its fingernails
- 1:42:07Speaker 8: at 56 percent white European. And in the below 30
- 1:42:12Speaker 8: age group, oh man, our country is over so much
- 1:42:16Speaker 8: sooner than those countries are.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: President Trump is now proposing, if they get control of Congress,
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: keep control, Legislation that would ban any future president from
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: ever opening the border. What do you think?
- 1:42:32Speaker 8: Well, Democrats, I think it's a great idea. Don't get
- 1:42:36Speaker 8: me wrong, but Democrats aren't.
- 1:42:38Speaker 12: Big rules followers.
- 1:42:39Speaker 8: I mean, as I said, throughout, or law followers, I
- 1:42:43Speaker 8: said throughout the Biden administration, on your show, Mark Simone,
- 1:42:47Speaker 8: what President Biden, well, he had the mention of his staff,
- 1:42:54Speaker 8: and Alejandro Mayorkas were doing was directly violating federal law.
