Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: I am with a man child, I think, and I.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Want to get you so you're all just dating the
- 0:11Speaker 2: same guy, huh.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I want to get your advice on something. The other day, Mikey,
- 0:17Speaker 1: who is sixty years old by the way, he took
- 0:20Speaker 1: a shower, only grown a doll. He took a shower
- 0:24Speaker 1: and then I saw him reach to put on a
- 0:26Speaker 1: crew neck sweatshirt that I had been seeing him wear
- 0:30Speaker 1: for like four days. And I just know what this
- 0:35Speaker 1: man is like how he sweats and things and whatever.
- 0:39Speaker 1: And I looked at him and I said, are you
- 0:41Speaker 1: going to put that sweatshirt back on?
- 0:43Speaker 2: You just showered and he said, uh yeah, And I said,
- 0:48Speaker 2: that is gross.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You've been wearing it, You've been outside, You've done something
- 0:52Speaker 1: like it is gross.
- 0:53Speaker 2: What are you doing? No, you can't wear that?
- 0:56Speaker 1: And he looks at me and very earnestly says, I'm
- 0:59Speaker 1: a boy.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, checks out to me.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Okay, this is what I wanted to ask you, Like,
- 1:05Speaker 1: is it Mikey specific or like, do you guys just
- 1:09Speaker 1: never grow out of some of these things? Because I
- 1:11Speaker 1: am in a house of just boys, Mikey guy, my
- 1:15Speaker 1: two children boys, I'm a boy mom, So gave you
- 1:19Speaker 1: the other boy.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Man in my life.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So I need to ask you, like, do you guys
- 1:24Speaker 1: ever grow out of thinking that your laundry is clean
- 1:28Speaker 1: for longer than it is or like this is just
- 1:30Speaker 1: to be expected.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No, that's just for life. It might evolve, okay, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: instead of, you know, maybe get way worse.
- 1:38Speaker 3: No.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Usually, usually it'll evolve for the better, especially you know,
- 1:42Speaker 2: when the ladies get introduced. That's what it's actually, it's
- 1:45Speaker 2: almost like a bell curve, right, okay, So you work
- 1:47Speaker 2: your way up to where you get to a point
- 1:49Speaker 2: where there's really no ladies involved, right, and then maybe
- 1:52Speaker 2: start thinking the girls cute, and then you're almost changing
- 1:54Speaker 2: clothes too much and washing too much clothes. And then
- 1:57Speaker 2: you get to the point where you know, potentially meet
- 2:00Speaker 2: someone and you're with them for a while, and then
- 2:02Speaker 2: you fall right back down to where you were before
- 2:04Speaker 2: because you couldn't care less. That's how it just goes behavior,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and then it falls right back down to oh, all right,
- 2:12Speaker 2: this lady likes me, who cares?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Well, I guess I'm glad he's comfortable. What about wiping
- 2:17Speaker 1: your hands on your clothes? This is my constant battle
- 2:19Speaker 1: with the ever grown You.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Still do this. Well, it would depend it if, like,
- 2:26Speaker 2: you know, you, let's say you're at Unhinged on a
- 2:28Speaker 2: Thursday or something. You go to the bathroom and then whatever,
- 2:31Speaker 2: maybe they're out of paper towels at that point in
- 2:33Speaker 2: time and your hands are just kind of wet, like, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 2: you wipe that off. But that's fine.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But let's say because my kids will have a snack
- 2:40Speaker 1: and it'll be kind of like, you know, crumbs from
- 2:44Speaker 1: chips or something, and then I try to catch them
- 2:47Speaker 1: before they wipe their hands on their pants. Yeah, sometimes
- 2:51Speaker 1: I get to them, sometimes I don't. But like, is
- 2:53Speaker 1: that a thing I can just expect for the foreseeable future.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It's another bell curve, you know, when they have to
- 2:58Speaker 2: start buying those paysants and they don't have mom to
- 3:01Speaker 2: buy pants for him, and they're going, Okay, I need
- 3:04Speaker 2: to actually make these look nice for a little bit,
- 3:05Speaker 2: or I got to go back to the store to
- 3:07Speaker 2: get more pants, which is the worst jore for any
- 3:10Speaker 2: man on the history of life. Okay, they take a
- 3:12Speaker 2: little better care, dude, start to take a little better
- 3:15Speaker 2: care of their attire when they are paying for said clothes. Gosh. Okay,
- 3:23Speaker 2: but then it depends on the jeans as well. If
- 3:26Speaker 2: they got some jeans that's just kind of their work jeans,
- 3:28Speaker 2: then no, they're wiping them for life, all right.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And then finally this one is driving me crazy. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: feel like we learned this in kindergarten. Keep your hands
- 3:36Speaker 1: and feet to yourselves. Do you guys ever stop rough housing?
- 3:40Speaker 1: If I have to tell Aiden and Liam to stop
- 3:42Speaker 1: rough housing one more time, I'm gonna throw myself out
- 3:45Speaker 1: of a window. Do you ever stop rough housing? Like
- 3:48Speaker 1: you have a brother? Do you guys still rouse you
- 3:50Speaker 1: have guy friend? Do you guys rough house at your
- 3:53Speaker 1: big age.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Of thirty five? This is a true story at thirty
- 3:56Speaker 2: years old. Five years ago. One of my best friends
- 3:58Speaker 2: in life, his name is Sam and Asnie. Him and
- 4:00Speaker 2: I we were just for fun, out of nowhere, full
- 4:04Speaker 2: blown wrestling, wrestling in our living room, and then almost
- 4:09Speaker 2: broke Corey's coffee table. So we put an end to that.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It does get fewer and further in between. Okay, but no.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But like so, when my kids are grown and they
- 4:19Speaker 1: come to visit their little old angiea mommy, I can
- 4:23Speaker 1: expect them to rough house still.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah, or you know, pick at each other, which causes
- 4:28Speaker 2: the rough housing. Yeah, that's just that's how we show love, Angie.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Being a boy mom is so fun.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's gave in
- 4:40Speaker 2: to Angie. We start the morning off maybe a little cloudy,
- 4:43Speaker 2: little wet, little rainy, but by the afternoon or mid
- 4:47Speaker 2: morning it excuse me, it should clear up. Okay, So
- 4:49Speaker 2: by the afternoon we should have sunshine and forty five.
- 4:52Speaker 2: That's a victory in and of itself. And we always
- 4:55Speaker 2: celebrate victories here on Big ninety eight point seven. Why
- 4:58Speaker 2: do we do that, Angie, because.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We like to say at the tone for the day
- 5:01Speaker 1: and celebrating little victories is a good positive way to
- 5:05Speaker 1: start the day.
- 5:06Speaker 2: That's exactly right. You know, a little practicing, some gratitude.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You know, when you wake up and you do your
- 5:10Speaker 2: what are those things called? You say in the mirror,
- 5:12Speaker 2: your affirmation? That's right, Will you do some of those Well,
- 5:15Speaker 2: that's our version of this on the radio, right, there's
- 5:16Speaker 2: no mirror, that's true. We just like to celebrate little
- 5:21Speaker 2: wins every single morning on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 5:24Speaker 2: If you ever have one, ever, think of one texted
- 5:27Speaker 2: to us at seven oh one two eight zero one
- 5:29Speaker 2: nine eight seven. We like hearing about your joy celebrating
- 5:33Speaker 2: life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on Big
- 5:38Speaker 2: ninety eight point seven. If I could, I would keep
- 5:41Speaker 2: this feeling in a basket job busted out when it
- 5:43Speaker 2: was someone's acting hard.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Sure your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 5:48Speaker 3: two and oho one ninety eight seven.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Kids, I also needed to win that day. And before
- 5:53Speaker 2: we get to your little victory here, Ange, I do
- 5:55Speaker 2: want to give a big congratulations to Ashley. Ashley texted
- 5:59Speaker 2: us this morning. This might have been yesterday actually, but
- 6:02Speaker 2: she said, hey, guys, I finally did it. I bought
- 6:05Speaker 2: my very first car and I paid for it completely
- 6:08Speaker 2: in cash, no loans, no monthly payments. Wowdulations to you.
- 6:13Speaker 2: That is o costulations. I could never That is really impressive,
- 6:19Speaker 2: very very cool. There it is. I've had cars where
- 6:21Speaker 2: I like paid them off and didn't have a bill.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I've obviously had vehicles where I did have a monthly bill. Yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 2: there is something about either a when you do pay
- 6:29Speaker 2: it off or B you just don't have that every
- 6:31Speaker 2: single month that is so satisfying. Yes, you know this
- 6:37Speaker 2: check or this bill you pay every single month and
- 6:39Speaker 2: then you're finally done or you just never have. It
- 6:43Speaker 2: really is a good feeling. Yeah, beautiful, Angie. Do you
- 6:45Speaker 2: have a little victory today?
- 6:47Speaker 1: I do so every morning before work, I sit on
- 6:51Speaker 1: the couch with the love of my life and we
- 6:53Speaker 1: play the New York Times games on our phone on
- 6:56Speaker 1: the little app, and I specifically go head to head
- 7:00Speaker 1: with my older brother playing the Mini the Mini crossword,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and we always send each other the Times.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It's a timed thing.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And today my brother got the Mini in forty four seconds, but.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I got it in thirty four. Yes, yes, so I
- 7:21Speaker 2: am smarter than him. I'm not true, but I don't
- 7:25Speaker 2: know if I've ever got a word right in any
- 7:26Speaker 2: crossword ever. And I'm not even kidding. Oh that's fine.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I mean maybe like you know, little kid ones or something,
- 7:31Speaker 2: but as like a real adult crossword, I don't New.
- 7:34Speaker 1: York Times now, I don't do the New York Times.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Like the crossword that's entirely too difficult. But the Mini
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's a fun one and you can usually get it
- 7:42Speaker 1: done in just a few minutes.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And I'm start doing this. I got it done in
- 7:46Speaker 2: thirty four seconds today. I'm gonna jump in this competition
- 7:50Speaker 2: and start sending my time. Oh my gosh, please do
- 7:53Speaker 2: see if I started it right now, I'll probably i'd
- 7:56Speaker 2: probably get it by noon. I get it done in
- 8:00Speaker 2: I don't know, six hours or so.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Okay, Well then what's your your little victory make yourself
- 8:05Speaker 1: feel better?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Right, my little victory? Yesterday was the most It
- 8:10Speaker 2: was just the most Gabe glitten day of all time.
- 8:13Speaker 2: It was such a wonderful, lazy Tuesday. I got home
- 8:17Speaker 2: right and then we got this car seat stroller combination
- 8:22Speaker 2: that we got to put together. So anytime we do
- 8:24Speaker 2: a little baby thing, it's pretty fun, you know. I
- 8:26Speaker 2: had a steak and eggs for dinner. I watched the
- 8:29Speaker 2: new Peaky blind As movie on Netflix. It was just wonderful. Wow,
- 8:35Speaker 2: that does sound like a Gabe glied It doesn't get
- 8:37Speaker 2: any better than that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Is that one that you would relive? Is that like
- 8:41Speaker 1: in your top days? Like if you had to relive
- 8:43Speaker 1: a day over again?
- 8:44Speaker 2: This top ten first? Yeah, top ten for sure. It
- 8:47Speaker 2: was such a fun, wonderful I took a thirty eight
- 8:51Speaker 2: minute nap yesterday, Yeah, from about two thirty to I
- 8:54Speaker 2: don't know, like three ish, Yeah, to wake up to
- 8:58Speaker 2: feed the dog. So it was just awesome, could not
- 9:00Speaker 2: be more alive and awaken, ready to go today.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I love this for you, but I feel bad now
- 9:05Speaker 1: because how's today gonna stuck up?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Maybe it'll be just as good. You never know why
- 9:10Speaker 2: we do little victories.
- 9:12Speaker 1: You gotta find something every day to keep you going.
- 9:17Speaker 2: If you didn't see this Harry Potter on HBO, the
- 9:19Speaker 2: trailer in a matter of like forty eight hours shattered
- 9:23Speaker 2: all kinds of these records for like most viewed trailers
- 9:26Speaker 2: ever most Yeah on HBO. I mean you've probably seen
- 9:30Speaker 2: it or scrolled past and saw it on Instagram or
- 9:32Speaker 2: something along those lines. And Angie and I were talking
- 9:35Speaker 2: about this yesterday when I found this out, and we
- 9:38Speaker 2: were thinking back. The first Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter
- 9:41Speaker 2: and the Sorcerer's Stone, came out twenty five years ago
- 9:46Speaker 2: this November, So twenty five back in two thousand and one. Yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 2: a quarter of a century year old? Is this? I
- 9:55Speaker 2: don't like that you rephrased it like that. Actually, Yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 2: when you put it like that, it is kind of
- 10:00Speaker 2: it makes it almost a little too real. Yeah, well, Angie,
- 10:04Speaker 2: there's some other things, of course that are going to
- 10:06Speaker 2: turn twenty five years old this year, in twenty twenty six,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and I want to see if you can guess some
- 10:14Speaker 2: of these things if they are twenty five this year
- 10:17Speaker 2: or not. Okay, okay, so let's start. Well, we'll just
- 10:19Speaker 2: start with the first one, all right, something very easy.
- 10:22Speaker 2: The movie Shrek premiered twenty five years ago. Yes, yes,
- 10:28Speaker 2: it did. That is correct.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah. My boyfriend at the time, freshman year of high
- 10:32Speaker 1: school was obsessed with Shrek and that gave me the ick.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I just didn't know the term for it back then.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Shrek twenty five years old. Okay? What about this one?
- 10:41Speaker 2: Halo Combat Evolved was released that shooting game.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Halo Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, twenty five years ago.
- 10:54Speaker 2: That is correct. Yes, yes, all right, angie. What about
- 10:58Speaker 2: this the first Fast and Furious movie hit theaters twenty
- 11:04Speaker 2: five years ago in uh yeah, twenty twenty one, two
- 11:09Speaker 2: thousand and one or two thousand and one, yeah, two
- 11:11Speaker 2: thousand and one. Yeh yes, that is correct. You were
- 11:14Speaker 2: three three all right, Angie? What about this YouTube was
- 11:19Speaker 2: launched twenty five years ago? No, wasn't it in two
- 11:25Speaker 2: thousand and six? YouTube was released in two thousand and five,
- 11:31Speaker 2: so you are okay?
- 11:33Speaker 1: I was close, but yeah, not twenty five years old.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Not twenty five years old yet, all right, The Dark
- 11:39Speaker 2: Knight hit theaters twenty five years ago, The Dark Knight. Yeah,
- 11:46Speaker 2: the Batman movie. No, no, no, no, no, no, not
- 11:49Speaker 2: even close.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, because I remember being able to drink when that.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yet that was released like a handful of years ago. Okay,
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'll try to make it feel better. Yeah, don't say
- 12:00Speaker 2: how many years ago? All right, Angie. You might see
- 12:03Speaker 2: this on social media a lot, and this is for
- 12:05Speaker 2: anybody who has heard of Grand Theft Auto. But yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 2: the big joke about oh we're gonna get blah blah
- 12:10Speaker 2: blah before Grand Theft Atto six GTA six. Yeah, all right, Angie,
- 12:15Speaker 2: Well when was Grand Theft Auto five released? Was it
- 12:20Speaker 2: released in two thousand and one? And this will be
- 12:22Speaker 2: the last one? Is Grand Theft Auto five twenty five
- 12:25Speaker 2: years old? No, no, it can't be right. It is not. Okay,
- 12:32Speaker 2: it haven't been a while, but twenty five years this
- 12:38Speaker 2: is am I the problem. It's me, hill On the problem.
- 12:44Speaker 2: It's me.
- 12:45Speaker 3: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help,
- 12:48Speaker 3: am I the problem. Decide if it's right or if
- 12:51Speaker 3: maybe you're the problem. I'm hardly the problem on Big
- 12:54Speaker 3: ninety eight point seven.
- 12:56Speaker 1: So Darren email us wanting to know if he's sniffing
- 12:59Speaker 1: out a shit shady friend or being a hater Morning
- 13:03Speaker 1: Gabe and Ange figured I'd ask the happiest sounding people
- 13:07Speaker 1: I know?
- 13:09Speaker 2: Am I the problem?
- 13:11Speaker 1: Am I the problem for not trusting my wife's coworker
- 13:14Speaker 1: because she's always happy.
- 13:16Speaker 2: They've become really close in a short period of time.
- 13:18Speaker 1: So I see this lady all the time now, and
- 13:21Speaker 1: this woman is always positive and smiling. My wife loves it.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I think it's kind of weird. I'm not against positivity,
- 13:28Speaker 1: but all the time I don't trust it. I feel
- 13:31Speaker 1: like she's hiding something. When my wife is venting about
- 13:35Speaker 1: work stuff, this lady spins it into a positive somehow,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and my wife thinks that's great. But that feels weird
- 13:43Speaker 1: to me because how do you never have anything bad
- 13:45Speaker 1: to say about work?
- 13:47Speaker 2: Shady? So?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Am I the problem? Or am I right?
- 13:50Speaker 2: It sounds like I have a lady twin out there.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Angie, you do be spinning things all the time to
- 13:57Speaker 1: be positive.
- 13:58Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on this? And what are you
- 14:00Speaker 2: do you think?
- 14:00Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight oh one, nine eight seven.
- 14:02Speaker 1: We have this up on the Facebook page and you
- 14:04Speaker 1: can always text and call us with your opinion.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Gabe, what do you think? And I'm sorry, what was
- 14:09Speaker 2: this individual? Darren? Darren, Darren, you are the problem? Okay?
- 14:14Speaker 2: As someone who I would like to think, for the
- 14:16Speaker 2: most part is a pretty happy, positive, optimistic, go lucky guy.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Sometimes it's just it's a state of mind, you know
- 14:25Speaker 2: what I mean. It's a fake it till you make it.
- 14:27Speaker 2: If you can walk around all day trying to be
- 14:30Speaker 2: as optimistic and positive about everything as possible, generally speaking,
- 14:36Speaker 2: you're just gonna have that mindset on a on a
- 14:39Speaker 2: more often basis than if every single day you wake
- 14:42Speaker 2: up and you're trying to find the first thing that's
- 14:44Speaker 2: going wrong or the first tiny little issue at work.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Now your day sucks and it's all over. If if
- 14:50Speaker 2: you run into someone I think who at the most
- 14:52Speaker 2: part comes off positive and maybe happy, go lucky, smiling,
- 14:56Speaker 2: they might not feel like that on the inside, but
- 15:00Speaker 2: it's a mindset. It's a state of mind. So I
- 15:02Speaker 2: like this girl, whoever this is at work? You keep
- 15:04Speaker 2: doing you.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Oh man, Gabe. I am very in the opposite camp
- 15:10Speaker 1: for this.
- 15:11Speaker 2: God what I do.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I love that on Big ninety eight point seven we
- 15:14Speaker 1: start the show every day with little victories because we
- 15:17Speaker 1: like to start on a good note, you know, appreciate
- 15:19Speaker 1: the good things. And I do not consider myself someone
- 15:23Speaker 1: who's cynical. I am a bit of an optimist that said,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you're not the problem, Darren. I think this friend of
- 15:30Speaker 1: your wife's is weird. I think she is hiding something.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And the reason I think so is because of this
- 15:37Speaker 1: work thing. When your wife is venting about work and
- 15:40Speaker 1: the friend is always spinning it into a positive and
- 15:43Speaker 1: never has anything negative to.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Say, that's shady. You are correct.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It is weird to not have any grievances about work.
- 15:51Speaker 2: And I love my job.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I love working with you, Gabe, I love the listeners,
- 15:55Speaker 1: I love all the great stuff that we get to do.
- 15:57Speaker 2: But every job has its stuff that's.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Annoying, and sometimes you want to vent about it and
- 16:04Speaker 1: it doesn't have to be spun into some positive thing.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I think the friend is trying to get intel. Maybe
- 16:12Speaker 1: this does make me cynical. It's trying to get intel.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And the reason she never has a negative thing to
- 16:17Speaker 1: say is because she doesn't want to get looped in,
- 16:21Speaker 1: Like when she snitches to whoever she's snitching to at
- 16:24Speaker 1: work about the stuff your wife said and was venting,
- 16:28Speaker 1: she doesn't.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Have any culpability.
- 16:30Speaker 1: She can be like, well I didn't say that, I
- 16:31Speaker 1: said this this, and miss sure to cover her tracks.
- 16:35Speaker 1: So I think that is shady and I don't like her,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and I do not think you're the problem, Darren.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Have you ever seen the movie Training Day No, with
- 16:44Speaker 2: Denzel Washington and even hocken Hawk. There's a scene in
- 16:48Speaker 2: Training Day where Denzel's character Alonzo says to ETHANOK, hey,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you got to get a little dirt on you for
- 16:54Speaker 2: anyone to trust you. So you're kind of thinking this
- 16:57Speaker 2: is one of these scenarios where it's like, well, you're
- 17:00Speaker 2: venting to her, she's not really venting back. I don't
- 17:02Speaker 2: trust that. Yes, yeah, I do see what you're saying.
- 17:06Speaker 2: That I say, I do see what you're saying. But
- 17:09Speaker 2: I still think this is the most dude email of
- 17:12Speaker 2: all time. This is the most guy sounding thing ever.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You know. You know dudes, they're just like, oh, yeah,
- 17:17Speaker 2: that person's happy all the time. That sucks. Yeah, the
- 17:20Speaker 2: guy thing.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Well, consider me a guy today because I'm team Darren
- 17:24Speaker 1: on this one. What are your thoughts seven oh one
- 17:26Speaker 1: two eight o one nine eighty seven or sound off
- 17:28Speaker 1: in the comments on our Facebook page on the problem.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Darren wrote into us and I wanted to know if
- 17:40Speaker 1: he was the problem because he does not like his
- 17:44Speaker 1: wife's new coworker bestie. Actually it's more than he doesn't
- 17:48Speaker 1: trust her. He said that the co worker is always positive,
- 17:52Speaker 1: always smiling, and that feels like a red flag to him.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It feels like she's hiding something.
- 17:57Speaker 2: So he wants to.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Know is he's just being a hate or if he's
- 18:01Speaker 1: actually sniffing out that she's like a shady friend. Gabe
- 18:05Speaker 1: thinks that Darren is the problem, right, Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I for me, when someone is happy and positive and
- 18:14Speaker 2: joyful in life, you know, I'm just I like that.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I'm attracted to that when there's nothing worse than the
- 18:19Speaker 2: person who, every single time you see them, talk to them,
- 18:22Speaker 2: run into them, they always got some complaint about something
- 18:25Speaker 2: that is so exhausting. So I'd rather be around positivity
- 18:28Speaker 2: as often as possible. Well, then sorry, I'm your co host, Gabe.
- 18:32Speaker 1: No, I am a positive person, and so that's why
- 18:35Speaker 1: I feel.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Like that's important to know depress it to this person.
- 18:40Speaker 1: But I do get where he's coming from, because he
- 18:43Speaker 1: also said that when they're venting about work, his wife
- 18:46Speaker 1: will vent and this woman will always spin it into
- 18:49Speaker 1: something positive, never has anything negative to say. And I
- 18:52Speaker 1: just think that it is unrealistic to not have any
- 18:55Speaker 1: grievances about work. So I think that the friend is
- 18:58Speaker 1: being shady and possible trying to get intel to like
- 19:03Speaker 1: snitch at work, and then she can say like, well,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I didn't say anything bad. Maybe that makes me more
- 19:08Speaker 1: cynical than I thought. We also post this on our
- 19:12Speaker 1: Facebook page, and of course you can chime in call
- 19:14Speaker 1: us text us seven one two eight oh one to
- 19:16Speaker 1: nine eighty seven. But I am miserable to report that
- 19:21Speaker 1: no one seems to agree with me.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Well, not exactly, not exactly. Micah did say, you're definitely
- 19:28Speaker 2: the problem, Darien. What's his name, Darren? Darren? Thank you, Darren.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Why would you have an issue with a friend that
- 19:34Speaker 2: makes your wife happy and positive? That's kind of where
- 19:37Speaker 2: I'm coming from. Yeah, okay. We also had Sandra who said, Darren,
- 19:42Speaker 2: you are the problem for all anyone knows her coworker
- 19:44Speaker 2: could be masking and putting a happy display on to
- 19:48Speaker 2: hide her own suffering. Sometimes those suffering from depression do
- 19:53Speaker 2: everything they can to make others lifted and not feel
- 19:55Speaker 2: like a burden to society. And Britney agreed with that. Okay,
- 20:00Speaker 2: actually do agree with that.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yes, whenever I'm going through a depression, I don't like
- 20:04Speaker 1: to put that on anybody else, right, And I did
- 20:07Speaker 1: not think of that, so fine, Sandra, Well.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Here is your white nights here, Angie, your knight in
- 20:14Speaker 2: shining armor. Okay, Julia, Now she does say, yes, you
- 20:17Speaker 2: are the problem, Darren. That being said, venting is helpful,
- 20:21Speaker 2: but so is thinking of it in a different perspective.
- 20:24Speaker 2: So your wife isn't ruminating on the annoyances of work
- 20:28Speaker 2: and letting it ruin the rest of her day. So
- 20:30Speaker 2: there she'd be kind of on the my side of
- 20:32Speaker 2: the fence. But she did say I do think Angie
- 20:35Speaker 2: has a point though, that it could be shady. Okay.
- 20:38Speaker 1: See that's all I needed, so one person to be
- 20:41Speaker 1: on my side. I do, like, you know what, This
- 20:44Speaker 1: is heartening though, because it makes me realize that more
- 20:48Speaker 1: people seem to be optimist than not. And I think
- 20:52Speaker 1: in the year of twenty twenty six, we need.
- 20:54Speaker 2: That is right now a good time to buy a
- 21:04Speaker 2: home or not now. I will be the first one
- 21:06Speaker 2: to tell you I am not a financial advisor. I
- 21:09Speaker 2: know very little about money. I know how to spend
- 21:12Speaker 2: it and I know how to not spend it. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 2: that's that's about it. That's right. So for any realistic
- 21:19Speaker 2: question you might have on mortgage rates buying a house,
- 21:22Speaker 2: obviously talk to a mortgage company or a financial advisor.
- 21:25Speaker 2: But I see this on social media all the time
- 21:28Speaker 2: from people right here in the FM area, and the
- 21:31Speaker 2: short answer is there's no like perfect weight or buy
- 21:34Speaker 2: now moment because rates are expected to bounce around all right,
- 21:38Speaker 2: We're not in like rates are about to explode situation,
- 21:42Speaker 2: but also not wait till they drop to like one
- 21:45Speaker 2: percent or something. Right. So, because this is such a
- 21:49Speaker 2: hot topic on social media right here in the FM area,
- 21:51Speaker 2: I wanted to have a little fun with Angie here
- 21:53Speaker 2: today and we're gonna call it this buy it or
- 21:57Speaker 2: by buy it? Okay, I am a renter, by the way, yep, perfect.
- 22:01Speaker 2: So what we're gonna do here, Angie, I'm gonna give
- 22:03Speaker 2: you a scenario and you're gonna let me know, like,
- 22:06Speaker 2: are you buying it as in maybe staying there, renting
- 22:08Speaker 2: or bye buy them out. Okay, okay, Angie, great place,
- 22:12Speaker 2: great location. You love it, you love the yard, you
- 22:15Speaker 2: love the amount of rooms. It's got two bathrooms of
- 22:17Speaker 2: the whole nine yards. But you have a roommate who
- 22:19Speaker 2: sets four alarms starting at four forty five am and
- 22:23Speaker 2: never wakes up to any of them. Will this affect
- 22:26Speaker 2: you at all because you'll probably be gone, Uh.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, No, let's buy it because yeah, those alarms mean nothing.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You're gonna, in fact, that roommate will be mad at
- 22:34Speaker 1: me because my alarm goes off at like three fifteen.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Right, So you're gonna buy that one, yes, by all right.
- 22:40Speaker 2: But if you're in a situation where you don't gotta
- 22:41Speaker 2: be to work till eight, that might be bye buy
- 22:44Speaker 2: it very different. Yeah, okay, Angie, you love everything about
- 22:48Speaker 2: this house, but there's always at least one unknown smell,
- 22:53Speaker 2: and no one in the house seems to claim it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Bye buy it. No, I'm really sensitive to smell. I
- 22:58Speaker 2: already live with three dudes.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Okay, I can't handle any more smells.
- 23:04Speaker 2: All right, Angie. How about it's the perfect setup. You
- 23:06Speaker 2: love the size of the kitchen, it gives you all
- 23:08Speaker 2: kinds of room to operate, but your roommate rewatches the
- 23:12Speaker 2: same show every night and laughs at the same jokes,
- 23:15Speaker 2: like it's the first time I think I am that roommate.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Buy it. Yes, I have two more for you here, Angie.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It's a nice place. But your roommate insists the heat
- 23:26Speaker 2: stays at sixty two in the winter to save money.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It sounds like you're living with your dad. No beautiful
- 23:35Speaker 2: by it. You like this?
- 23:36Speaker 1: Oh, yes, I am the dad. I keep it so
- 23:39Speaker 1: cold in my house at all times.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Sixty two is a little cold for me. Sixty five
- 23:43Speaker 2: I can get away. Sixty two is cold.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Listen, I always say you can pile on more blankets.
- 23:48Speaker 1: You can only take off so many articles of clothing.
- 23:51Speaker 2: All right, Angie, what about this one? The last one
- 23:53Speaker 2: for you? Cheap rent, which we love. Yes, great location,
- 23:57Speaker 2: your own bathroom, okay, perfect. But your roommate plays the
- 24:02Speaker 2: Barney song on repeat every night to fall asleep. Bye bye. No,
- 24:08Speaker 2: that song is trauma. Well you know it would also
- 24:12Speaker 2: now work for you. Then I fall asleep to a
- 24:14Speaker 2: Harry Potter book every seing. No, that would have me
- 24:16Speaker 2: moving in. Baby g will be arriving sometime this summer,
- 24:27Speaker 2: and we are in the midst of all kinds of
- 24:30Speaker 2: the heavy prep work. You know, we got the clothes
- 24:32Speaker 2: hung up, we have the crib put together, we're get
- 24:34Speaker 2: in the room, put together, the clothes in the dresser.
- 24:37Speaker 2: What an exciting time. I kind of missed this, honestly.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. I did not know a couple
- 24:43Speaker 2: of things about pre planning to be a parent. Okay,
- 24:47Speaker 2: first off, I did not realize. I know you had
- 24:50Speaker 2: to go to appointments, right, but I did not realize.
- 24:53Speaker 2: You know, the closer you get, you're going every like
- 24:55Speaker 2: two weeks. I love that you go with your wife
- 24:58Speaker 2: every single time. What dudes do not? Oh, I got
- 25:01Speaker 2: all of them. You are so sweet. But coming out
- 25:04Speaker 2: every two weeks, we're going to be visiting, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 2: obviously the hospital This Sunday, we're doing a little tour
- 25:11Speaker 2: just so we can put yeah, just so we can
- 25:13Speaker 2: kind of see our surroundings and what have you. And
- 25:16Speaker 2: obviously now we're also starting to get car seats and
- 25:20Speaker 2: the thing where you feed them in. And I don't
- 25:22Speaker 2: know the names of these things, but car seats and
- 25:24Speaker 2: what have you. I did not realize you needed an
- 25:27Speaker 2: engineering degree to put together these car seats slash stroller combinations. Yesterday,
- 25:34Speaker 2: a nice package delivered to our house. That's some wonderful person.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It might have been my mom, for all I know.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I have no idea delivered to our house where it's
- 25:42Speaker 2: a car seat stroller combo. All right, it's got the
- 25:46Speaker 2: base you need to lock on into your car, and
- 25:48Speaker 2: then the car seat you can obviously take out out
- 25:50Speaker 2: what have you, And then this stroller that you can
- 25:52Speaker 2: lock the car seat in. We can take a little
- 25:54Speaker 2: baby for a walk. Yeah. Well, whoever got that for you? Excellent?
- 25:57Speaker 2: That's like, that's what you need to goaded. Yeah. Yeah,
- 26:00Speaker 2: well let me tell you. Putting this thing together, I
- 26:04Speaker 2: swear to God, I have a better chance of hanging
- 26:06Speaker 2: out with the people in space right now working for NASA.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Now we finally get this thing put together. And I
- 26:13Speaker 2: am telling you right, this was so embarrassing. I was
- 26:16Speaker 2: practicing how to collapse, collapse.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Collasp collapse, thank you, collapse this stroller and put it
- 26:25Speaker 1: back to use.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and take the card seat thing off and on
- 26:28Speaker 2: because I'm not good. I'm not gonna be public in
- 26:31Speaker 2: public trying to have a nice walk with the dog
- 26:33Speaker 2: and baby. G And I don't know how this works.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I practiced this for thirty minutes yesterday.
- 26:39Speaker 1: You got to get those reps in, Gaby, gotta get
- 26:42Speaker 1: those reps in.
- 26:43Speaker 2: I did not know that I needed to go to
- 26:45Speaker 2: Harvard to be a parent. This is insane to me
- 26:48Speaker 2: putting these things in. And there's YouTube videos and QR
- 26:51Speaker 2: codes on how you scan all this and get it
- 26:54Speaker 2: in the car. Right. I have learned a lot in
- 26:56Speaker 2: the past two days. Really that there's a whole lot
- 26:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I love this.
- 27:01Speaker 1: You need to face some adversity, to quote yourself. Yeah,
- 27:05Speaker 1: and I think it's a ride of passage. It's a
- 27:08Speaker 1: ride of passage you because you know what. I like
- 27:11Speaker 1: that you're going through this because your wife right now
- 27:13Speaker 1: is quite literally doing the heavy lifting with growing the
- 27:17Speaker 1: child that's right inside her body. But then she also
- 27:20Speaker 1: still has to be a functioning human adult woman who
- 27:24Speaker 1: still goes to work, who still has to get things
- 27:26Speaker 1: done while creating life. So the least you could do
- 27:30Speaker 1: is struggle with a car seat and a stroller.
- 27:33Speaker 2: This is what you deserve, Gabe. I can't be the
- 27:35Speaker 2: only one. Please. This is the first time I think
- 27:37Speaker 2: I've ever had some relatability to a real parent. Okay,
- 27:40Speaker 2: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven,
- 27:43Speaker 2: don't lie to me. Did you have to do some
- 27:45Speaker 2: practice reps with the stroller and getting the car seat
- 27:48Speaker 2: on and off the base so that you're not caught
- 27:51Speaker 2: looking like an idiot picking up baby g from daycare.
- 27:53Speaker 1: If you've got any tips for our boy, Gabe, please
- 27:56Speaker 1: let us know.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Seven on one to one nine. I feel like I'm
- 27:59Speaker 2: in a boxing ring right now, like in the movie
- 28:03Speaker 2: Oh Gosh, I can't think of it now, who plays Rambo?
- 28:06Speaker 2: Oh rock yourself? Rocky. I feel like I'm in the
- 28:12Speaker 2: boxing ring and I'm Rocky and I'm getting the living
- 28:14Speaker 2: crap beat out of me, and then they're going throwing
- 28:17Speaker 2: the towel. I need some good.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Starting off the day with something good. This is Gabe's
- 28:27Speaker 3: good news. On Big ninety eight point seven.
- 28:32Speaker 2: A Fargo kid is turning a simple snack into a
- 28:35Speaker 2: growing business. There's a twelve year old named Connor Aarbach
- 28:39Speaker 2: who was sitting at home eating sea seasoned pretzels when
- 28:43Speaker 2: he told his mom, Mom, I could make these, so
- 28:47Speaker 2: they looked up. They looked up a recipe, made a batch,
- 28:51Speaker 2: and after a few tweaks, Connor had something special. It
- 28:54Speaker 2: didn't take long before people started asking to buy his pretzels,
- 28:59Speaker 2: and that's when Twistology Season Pretzels was born. Connor began
- 29:03Speaker 2: selling at local markets and quickly he sold out, with
- 29:07Speaker 2: flavors like ranch and dill pickle becoming big hits. I know,
- 29:11Speaker 2: if my wife is hearing this right now, there will
- 29:13Speaker 2: be some dill pickle pretzel. Oh my gosh, yes, Bill
- 29:15Speaker 2: pickle is the flavor. Now. The young entrepreneur is balancing
- 29:18Speaker 2: school while running his own business, even tracking his costs
- 29:22Speaker 2: and profits down to the penny. And while his parents
- 29:26Speaker 2: help keep things in check, Connor's already dreaming big, hoping
- 29:30Speaker 2: to one day take his pretzels from the family kitchen
- 29:33Speaker 2: to store shelves. I would not be shocked if at
- 29:36Speaker 2: some point you saw Twistology Season pretzels at your favorite
- 29:40Speaker 2: grocery store Walmart or Target, wherever you're grabbing groceries. That
- 29:43Speaker 2: would be so bad.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Ace Based on name alone, I would buy these. They
- 29:50Speaker 1: could taste like dirt, which I know they don't. But
- 29:53Speaker 1: if I was like, oh yeah, I'm just snacking on
- 29:55Speaker 1: some Twistology, that's so cool.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yes, so way to go, Connor, keep it going, man.
- 30:00Speaker 2: We hope to see and read and hear big things
- 30:02Speaker 2: from you in the future. And you know what if
- 30:05Speaker 2: at some point you're like, I don't want to do
- 30:06Speaker 2: this anymore. I just want to go play baseball or
- 30:08Speaker 2: something that's cool too. You know my favorite quote to
- 30:12Speaker 2: broken crayons, they still color and the world is full
- 30:14Speaker 2: of nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta
- 30:16Speaker 2: be one.
