- Mark Hayes (00:01.076) Alright, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another exciting edition of Two Men in Black and White, an honest conversation. And you know, the theme ever since Saturday night, togetherness. It's it's a world coming together. right in front of our face. The timing couldn't have been better, brah. Knicks championship, an incredible day of World Cup play yesterday, and Cheeto Mussolini out of the country. I mean, what what better timing than you know the world the world's greatest melting pot loving on each other over a Knicks team that defied the odds, right? And all the so-called pundits and all the so-called experts, right? And what what's the old saying, Brock? You can't measure a guy's heart. She I'll take Brunson's heart any day. If he's giving it up, I'll take it. I mean, what an incredible set of values on this team instilled by an African American coach in an organization where the top guy thinks it's okay to invite the guy who wants to take away their voting rights and their citizenship. It's insane. Brock Ganeles (01:35.522) Mark, I think I you know, I was worried that the that, you know, in essence Trump and America were gonna ruin the World Cup, but the the joy that the Knicks brought to the biggest city in the country of New York and the most diverse city in America, they're calling it a reverse nine eleven 'cause they've never seen New York come to come together in this way, except in tragedy and sadness. And so it's like, isn't this amazing that we can have that similar feeling of camaraderie and that we're all in this, all in this together, and we all live together, and the love people are showing each other in a positive way being triggered by something as simple as a sporting event. But it's just unleashed an entire emotional outpouring that I think is carried into the World Cup. Mark Hayes (02:05.152) Right. Mark Hayes (02:34.182) Right. Brock Ganeles (02:34.379) We fucked with it. We didn't let a bunch of people in the country. There's certainly a lot of unhappy people in empty seats. But I think that whole vibe of welcoming the world was really like jump started by by the camaraderie of New York and i I think it's just overwhelmed the xenophobia of MAGA. And you know I've been saying for for few days now that Trump just feels like he's shrinking in front of us. Mark Hayes (02:44.436) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (03:03.531) He's a diminished presence. He doesn't matter as much. He's the guy asleep in the VIP seats when and no one gives a fuck whether he's there or not there. It's the Knicks the Knicks got a taste of and the Knicks fans got a taste of what the world is like when Trump's there and when he's not there. And how he killed the vibe when he was there and the excitement came back tenfold when he wasn't there. Mark Hayes (03:10.005) Yeah. Mark Hayes (03:15.903) Right. Mark Hayes (03:32.052) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (03:32.194) And we even see it in the country. It's just better when Trump is overseas now. Yeah, you know, the New York Times and pol political writers have to write about what he's doing at the G seven and this bullshit Iran deal that he slapped together with some crayons on the back of a napkin to pretend like he solved something. And and and I just feel like the rest of America doesn't care. Like we're you know, we're talking we still have our problems, but we're talking about the Knicks. We got the World Cup here. Mark Hayes (03:47.542) And a document sign. Brock Ganeles (03:59.65) Heading into summer, it's Juneteenth tomorrow, people are actually embracing who we are again. And I really feel like there's been a seismic shift in American life. And it feels fucking great. I mean, I'm sure, I'm sure I'm not the only person who's spending an inordinate amount of their day scrolling their feed, watching j people celebrate the Knicks, andor Mark Hayes (04:07.104) Divided. Mark Hayes (04:15.34) my god. Brock Ganeles (04:28.471) Talk about the lessons they've learned about life from the way the Nick team operated and all the things that feel good about that team without big stars and underdog stories and having people that you work with that you care about and doing things with your friends that you've known forever and getting together to try to do something special with them. So many good. Life lessons. I'm scrolling as therapy. It feels great to watch people so happy with their families. And it's so funny to watch all these women videos. Some of them are huge fans, and some of them are just like, I'm so I this feels so good just to be around the city and the camaraderie. My favorite one last night, I'll turn it back to you. This Asian guy went on and he and he like a young guy was like. Mark Hayes (05:03.57) my gosh. Mark Hayes (05:11.144) Yeah. Right. Brock Ganeles (05:27.733) Is it okay if I come on here and say that I'm sad that the Knicks won in five? Because I've been having so much fun with my friends going out and going to the bars and watching the games. And he's like, he has tears in his eyes, and I'm I'm like, I'm happy. But is it okay that I say I wish there was a game six and a game seven? Because the camaraderie. Like, I want. that those Wednesday nights where we were getting together to watch the games and it showed, you know, tied together that loneliness epidemic that people talk about. And and and a lot of these younger people, like it just gave them that reason, that push to be out there in the world and to be interacting and to be among their friends and just whatever. Mark Hayes (06:05.873) yes. Mark Hayes (06:13.556) Mm-hmm. Brock Ganeles (06:20.309) It could it happened to be a Knicks game that brought it together, but it could have been something else. And I'm hoping it's more of the World Cup. I'm hoping people got a taste for it and don't want it to go away, so they look for it in other places. And it doesn't just have to be sports, right? I mean it could be it could be concerts, it could be movies, it could be you know, plays, performances, it could be family, it could be a cookout, it could be bad mitten in the backyard, it could be over Mark Hayes (06:34.084) Right. Right. Mark Hayes (06:41.376) Could be your family. Brock Ganeles (06:49.793) You know, you know, a mahjong table, it could be a game of monopoly, right? It's just anything that brings people together. Mark Hayes (06:53.718) Well, Brock, think about it too. you know, for the first time in who knows how many years, we saw grown men grabbing and hugging each other from all walks of life. Right? You had guys that were, you know, booking rooms in the Ritz Carlton, the guys who caught, you know, the one train. Over, you know, into the city so they could just be near the garden. So they could be at a watch party, right? You had every level of human being out there from every culture. What do we got? About a hundred cultures in a 10 block radius in New York? I mean, think about how you know just amazing that is. And, you know, like you were pointing out the other day, where women were saying, my god. You know, my man is just so freaking happy. You know, this gives me hope. Right? Just to see him happy like this. And brah, think about the D VR channels that are gonna get worn out watching this game over and over and over again. And each time, you know, you go you go back to that night and remember that crazy, crazy feeling that we got that's been missing for fifty something years and You know, I kinda sorta remember it, but I don't, you know, 'cause we're just old enough not to be able to remember it. But you know, it's it's it's a different day and we needed this. The the city that never sleeps needed this. Right? Because people always talk about go ahead. Brock Ganeles (08:37.271) Country needs it. Country needs it. The country needs it. I hope they're all I hope they're all watching and I and I think they are because, you know, New York dominates the media still, so the the players are on every every show, from the view to the talk to the chew to the you know, to Fallon to you know, I'm sure they'll get to Kimmel at some point, but for now they're sticking around the city. But as a white guy, I'm just l still also struck like the Mark Hayes (08:42.612) Yeah, yeah. Mark Hayes (08:49.812) Right. Mark Hayes (08:55.872) Right. Brock Ganeles (09:06.827) I know you want black excellence to be acknowledged in in realms outside of sports and entertainment. But the black excellence and the the teachings. I mean, there's there's videos of s of school teachers showing how they're using the NYX as their as a lesson. And it's kind of like more comical because there's sort of schools kinda out of out of session now, but but it's what's in their head is how they're gonna use the NYX as part of a teaching tool. Parents and psychologists are already all over social media talking about the lessons learned, but the black excellence Mark Hayes (09:32.255) Okay. Brock Ganeles (09:44.588) And also Mark in a way where it's like they weren't the best most athletic guys, right? They were the smartest, hardest working, grittiest, clutch under pressure is all those things, all those qualities white people think they have and that their their best athletes have, right? The Larry Bird, he was slow and he was this and he was that, but you know, basketball IQ, right? The white guy's a craft crafty white guy. Mark Hayes (09:55.763) Our fist. Mark Hayes (10:05.237) Right. Mark Hayes (10:10.633) Right. Brock Ganeles (10:13.611) Never heard crafty black guy, right? Crafty white that word's reserved for white guys. Crafty white guys. Articulate black guy. AKA wow, he can actually talk, right? Like all the coded language. They're blowing the coded language out of the fucking water. Mike Brown is the black coach who's like, you know, smart and in touch and Mark Hayes (10:13.974) Yeah. Right. Right. Yeah. Right. Mark Hayes (10:31.122) Every single one of them. Brock Ganeles (10:38.591) emotional and a lot of EQ, not IQ. He knew what the how to you know, when to push and when to pull back. Jalen Brunson, considered maybe the smartest player anyone's ever seen, right? And Carl Anthony Towns, the most emotional guy who's in touch with his feelings, which makes him almost like a big brother to everyone else. All these storylines that like they're not even sports storylines. They're human qualities. Mark Hayes (10:53.075) Yep. Mark Hayes (11:05.012) Right? Yeah. Brock Ganeles (11:06.805) Storylines. I mean to me, I I just I'm just like keep saying it's gotta feel great for the black community. Just like the narrative that has been flipp it's a reverse nine eleven. It's a reverse fucking narrative storyline. Mark Hayes (11:21.608) Yep. Yep. Especially during a time where we're seeing, you know, all the black excellence erased. Right? But, you know, Brock, just take a look at the crowd. Right? At the garden. I mean, who could afford who brown could afford those tickets? Not very many people. besides your celebrities, you know, you didn't see a lot of brown faces in the crowd. Which again goes back to that narrative, like, you know, we can accept you as sports figures, but not as human beings and neighbors. Like so this flies in the face of that, right? Because we see the joy and adulation that they bought to the entire city, regardless of the hue of your skin. Everyone was genuinely happy. You know, my my my East Asian friends, you know, she had up one of those memes. my my my bagels are Jewish, my mare is Muslim, my Christian Dior miss and right? So it it it doesn't matter. Right? And that's what the world is now seeing. Brock Ganeles (12:36.983) Christian, you are yeah. Mark Hayes (12:49.32) Right? When we watch Cape Verde celebrating its you know draw with Spain, when we watch the Norwegian fans rowing the boat up the escalator at the stadium, I mean everybody's having a blast. They got their Viking helmets on, they're laughing, joking. I mean the fan cams are phenomenal from the World Cup. And so, you know, everybody's looking for somebody to cheer for. Brock Ganeles (13:19.233) But this is that world that we don't want to be a part of. America first. Like this is that world that's all taking advantage of us. So we gotta slap tariffs on all these countries. They're all screwing us and we don't want half you know, twenty of these countries we've even banned visitation from. And we gotta throw out anyone who's from these countries 'cause like, you know, they're not us and like we hate these people. Mark Hayes (13:22.536) Right. Right. Right. Mark Hayes (13:37.663) Right. Mark Hayes (13:43.348) Yeah. Yeah, it's a joke. Brock Ganeles (13:45.142) Right? And like it's just the ma MAGA has just lost the narrative. They took us down the wrong road. We allowed them, we the rest of us, allowed them to take control of America and their bullshit hate and fucking you know, absurd storylines that they've implanted in their brains that they feed off of. Mark Hayes (13:50.187) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (14:13.461) about how everyone's screwing them and every and that and you have to hate everyone that doesn't look like you and God forbid someone speaks a different fucking language. Right? You gotta throw them in the back of a van into a detention center. They took us the wrong direction. It's so fucking obvious right now and stark. And I I only hope that we finally showed that we can get people out there on the streets and maybe No Kings was just the wrong message because it starts with the word no. Mark Hayes (14:14.046) Yep. Yep. Mark Hayes (14:23.497) Right. Mark Hayes (14:27.221) Right. Mark Hayes (14:38.923) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (14:42.955) Maybe it just you know, maybe it's negative messaging and doesn't inspire and winning inspires and and we need positive messaging and we just need to flip it over about we are the multicultural nation in the world. We are the grand experiment, not just in democracy. We're a grand experiment in whether you can have a piece of land and just bring all different people from all over the world. Mark Hayes (14:43.508) Right. Mark Hayes (14:47.85) Yeah. Mark Hayes (14:51.797) Right. Mark Hayes (15:00.382) Right. Brock Ganeles (15:12.703) And have them live together tied to ideals instead of common heritage and culture. And that they could meld them all together and somehow live peacefully and pros and prosper. Even though some people were dragged here in slave boats, right? Not everyone came here willingly. But we're all fucking here now. And you know, I think the messaging can just be flipped on its head that that's actually the strength and the power. Because Mark Hayes (15:13.289) And make good work. Mark Hayes (15:19.774) Right. Mark Hayes (15:25.374) Right. Mark Hayes (15:30.782) Right. You're right. Brock Ganeles (15:40.173) When we grew up, like that's what we were sold. We were told that. That was the strength of America. We are the great melting pot. Like that's a term you learn in like second or third grade. Mark Hayes (15:43.872) Right. Mark Hayes (15:48.629) Yeah. absolutely. Absolutely. And then this guy comes Brock Ganeles (15:54.198) If you're a melting pot, you don't build a wall. You don't build a fucking wall if you're a melting pot. You don't ban visas. You don't like not you don't kick asylum seekers on their ass and you know throw them out the door like a bouncer at a club. That that's if you're a melting pot, like that's that's not what you do. Mark Hayes (15:59.177) You know? No. Mark Hayes (16:10.822) Right. You don't put you don't put a sign up at Ellis Island saying welcome and then kicking people out and arresting them because they came. You got the fucking sign up. You put the sign up. So now you're telling us you don't which is it? Because I'm getting mixed messages. Do you want us here or not? And that's the thing. There is no other country that welcomes as many immigrants as the US. Right? But but again, we were winning because of our multiculturalism. Think about what we were doing in the areas of science and technology and medicine because of our embrace of other cultures, other ideas that weren't just like our own. Other ideas. ideas and and and experiments that weren't just born here, that came from a diversity of thought. Not everybody in the room has to look one way in order for it to be successful. Brock Ganeles (17:16.235) Be more. Brock Ganeles (17:20.649) I Look, I can't stand our fucking trillionaire class. I think they're all selfish assholes and don't really care about American society. CEO of Google is what? Well CEO of Google's what? Indian guy, right? CEO of Apple. CEO of Apple? gay guy. CEO of Facebook, Zuckerberg. Jewish guy. where did Elon fucking musk come when he wanted to make his riches? He didn't stay in fucking South Africa. Why? Mark Hayes (17:27.526) Look at that. No. Fuck that. Yeah. Mark Hayes (17:40.468) Yeah, yeah. Right. Mark Hayes (17:48.178) Exact. Nope. Brock Ganeles (17:50.241) Why isn't his ass still down there? Nope. Came here. Mark Hayes (17:54.4) Yep. Yep. Brock Ganeles (17:56.418) The best and the brightest have always wanted to come here. And that's why we've been able to be the become the wealthiest country in the world and live at the highest standard and have all those advancements that you spoke about because the system allowed the best idea to win, sort of, right? It's still a fucked up, not perfectly and fair system, but it allowed a lot of ideas to work from a you know a lot of different Mark Hayes (17:59.66) Yep. Mark Hayes (18:09.526) Yeah. Mark Hayes (18:17.866) Right. Brock Ganeles (18:25.695) in a lot of different ways. And we've just thrown that away and taking ten steps backwards. So by boxing everyone out, we're just pushing away the best and the brightest. And we're pushing away the energy that comes from being around people that think different than you and challenge your one way of thinking so that maybe you think differently and better because you're not just caught in a box. You're actually taking Mark Hayes (18:27.57) Right. Yeah. Mark Hayes (18:43.861) Right. Mark Hayes (18:47.925) Yep. Mark Hayes (18:53.812) Yeah. Brock Ganeles (18:55.109) in things in. And that's these are the lessons. I don't know how America goes back to a MAGA led kind of world. Like I just think it's in decline and I think it the our challenge is to figure out how to push it into accelerated decline. Like how do we just really, really just stomp it out and in and you tell me. Mark Hayes (19:09.77) We're not Mark Hayes (19:17.523) Right. Mark Hayes (19:22.741) Well. Think think about this. Target didn't want any of the smoke associated with that UFC freedom fight the other night. But Target got crushed by the boycott. Right? Why don't we just we I mean we've got the list of the sponsors. We know who they are: Ram Truck, Miracle Grow, Bud Light, you know, crypto dot com. Let's start, let's. Freaking boycott these people so that the consequences are far too great for them to want to be involved. Because that's the only thing these the the trillionaire class understands is hitting them in the wallet. And and and target Target paid the price. Brock Ganeles (20:05.996) And Brock Ganeles (20:10.55) And it's not. Brock Ganeles (20:14.943) Yeah, and it's not just not showing up, it's actually telling them that you're not showing up and telling them exactly why you're not showing up. It's like it's not it's not great, you know, it's good that the Knicks aren't going to the White House, but it's good that they told the Knicks they told the White House, we're not coming. Thanks for the invite, we're not coming. Now I wish they would go to the next they're not political figures, go the next step and say, Well, you know, you don't Mark Hayes (20:19.912) Right. Exactly. Mark Hayes (20:32.587) Yeah. Right. Brock Ganeles (20:42.207) Sorry, you don't welcome a multi racial and multicultural group and that's what we are. So our values don't align. We're not coming. So yeah, economic yeah, economic boycotts is like a very powerful day to day way that we can make an impact and try to influence the society around us. But we have to be really keen on who we elect also. Mark Hayes (20:43.754) We don't support your policy. Yeah. Mark Hayes (20:48.744) Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yeah. Mark Hayes (21:11.638) Mm. Brock Ganeles (21:11.755) Like, what are the values and what are the policies and what are the actual actions that are gonna be taken by the people that we entrust to be our political leaders? You know. Mark Hayes (21:24.01) Well that's the that's the conundrum up in Maine, right? I mean you got that plantner guy who's nuts, right? And then you got Susan Collins. Which devil do you want? Brock Ganeles (21:36.716) Yeah. Well I know what devil I want. I want Susan Collins out because her policies hurt people. You know, she voted for Kavanaugh who stripped away woman's right to choose. Women's bodily autonomy. So among tons of other things she's done over twenty years. So yeah, he's definitely a lesser of two evils candidates candidate. But you know, I like you know, I look at Georgia and I can only hope that Georgia comes out in droves. Mark Hayes (21:40.82) Right. Right. Mark Hayes (21:49.724) Right. Right. Brock Ganeles (22:05.793) for Keisha Lance Bottom and John Ossoff and just turns Georgia from a purple state to a blue state because people just show the fuck up. Mark Hayes (22:05.916) in trouble. Mark Hayes (22:16.814) Up huge, huge, and it's already taken off. I'm getting the Awsoff emails, the Keisha Lance Bottoms emails. people are mobilizing, and people are realizing what it looks like without Trump. The Trump-backed candidates lost here in Georgia, right? The the the guys who stood up for the right thing to do, the Secretary of State, Brad Raffensberger, he lost. in his bid to become he didn't even make it to the runoff. So, you know, i people are starting to see what the world looks like without the Trump influence. And remember, you know, one of the guys who was running for governor was one of the fake electors. So you see, we do have some brains here. People do know better. There there is the ability to do some of your own research. And and You know what? Trump lost by twelve thousand votes. There's no other narrative around it. There's not there's no other way. He didn't win by a lot. We heard him on the phone. I need eleven thousand seven hundred and eighty votes plus one. So we know what the world can look like. And we were reminded again, Saturday night into Sunday morning, right through tomorrow night and beyond. Brock Ganeles (23:27.361) Yeah. Mark Hayes (23:45.247) What the world looks like without Trump. Because you know this is going to carry on through the summer. You know, people are going to be much more tolerant of each other and much more open to dialogue and to extending a hand of friendship. As I chose today not to watch those people getting their ass kicked videos because I wanted to hear more stories about joy and happiness. I chose not to watch people getting punched in the face. So I could hear more stories of tenderness and kindness and you know people embracing each other from other cultures. That's what I wanted to see. I didn't want to see people picking fights with each other. I didn't want to see people, you know, knocking the shit out of each other. I didn't want to see racial strife. We've seen enough to last a lifetime. How much joy will it take for us to get by? Brock Ganeles (24:47.211) My quick hit today, the other like less talked about element of this phenomenal Knicks team and the blueprint for success that they've given to America is, you know, we've talked so much about the toxic greed of America and the idea that whatever makes you a dollar more is a justified decision. And the fact that corporate America no longer has to be social, right? Mark Hayes (24:55.327) Mm-hmm. Mark Hayes (25:09.843) Right. Mark Hayes (25:15.231) Right. Brock Ganeles (25:15.703) There's no it doesn't there's no there's no like tie to society. It's just shareholder value. So yeah, they can put a data center anywhere. They don't care if they're pouring like fuck it's soaking up everyone's water or polluting or raising the temperature. But the other the the the less talked about story is that when Jalen Brunson signed with with the Knicks when he had a chance to resign, he actually accepted a contract. Mark Hayes (25:22.869) Right. Mark Hayes (25:31.742) Right. Brock Ganeles (25:42.828) That was $123 million less than the maximum that he could have signed for. And he took the less money because he wanted the organization to build a better team around him, and he wanted to give himself selfishly a better chance at the ultimate success of winning a championship. Because you can't just buy that. Can't buy the feeling that those players have now and the feeling that the city has for them. Mark Hayes (25:56.2) Okay. Mark Hayes (26:04.754) Right. Brock Ganeles (26:12.555) He couldn't cut a hundred and twenty three million dollar check to New York City to live the life that he's gonna live for as being an and just an icon in the city. But in a country of toxic greed where it's become just so nonchalant we're also nonchalant about the corruption that we see from Trump and his cronies and all these people even going into public service. Mark Hayes (26:12.893) Right. Mark Hayes (26:23.668) Yeah. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (26:37.889) To see what they can squeeze out of it for themselves, literally taking the public service job so that they can make more money corruptly and get contracts thrown their way and consulting deals and who knows what they're getting making in crypto because we can't even find that. And Jalen Brunson in the city with a democratic socialist mayor was the ultimate socialist. Instead of being a capitalist and getting every Mark Hayes (26:37.926) Right. Mark Hayes (26:55.678) Like Mark Hayes (27:03.528) Right. Right. Brock Ganeles (27:06.901) Squeeze every penny out of the cine situation that he could. He was the ultimate socialist and got this greater good that triggered this greater joy that no one can ever put a price tag on. And and I would I look for a version of America that stops just honoring material wealth accumulation and starts thinking and looking at at people for what they really bring to the table. Mark Hayes (27:13.694) Yeah. Mark Hayes (27:32.533) Well Brock Ganeles (27:36.663) for the society they live in, not what they extracted out for themselves. How big is my boat? Mark Hayes (27:44.935) Right. But Brock, let's keep it there. Let's talk about Carl Anthony Towns and his resolve and resilience to play without a contract extension because the Knicks didn't extend him at the beginning of the season. He didn't go into a corner and pout. He didn't bitch about it. We didn't hear one time this year that Carl Anthony Towns brought up his contract extension that he didn't get. Right? The greedy athlete. Right? The selfish, right? Self-absorbed athlete looking for his bag and his bag only. Carl Anthony Towns didn't mention that at all. You know who mentioned it? The pundits on the sports show since they won this championship. the Knicks are gonna have to pay Cat now. But what is the lesson that we learn from that? You know, sometimes it's about being bigger than the dollar, right? Having pride in what you do and doing it for the love of the game. You mean to tell me he was doing all that for money? He was playing his ass off like we've never seen him before. There were times they were running the offense through him, bro. Brock Ganeles (29:00.737) Mark, if they if they fucking if if they just pass the hat around the fucking parade tomorrow, like they do, like at in church, I mean i i you you'd see hundreds of millions of dollars in there for all the people that are gonna be there if everyone dropped a ten dollar bill in there. Like it's it's so beyond money and wealth accumulation and like Mark Hayes (29:07.251) my God. You're right. Mark Hayes (29:16.372) Yeah. Right. Mark Hayes (29:23.914) Comprehension, yeah. Brock Ganeles (29:26.867) Like we say, what's the point in being the wealthiest country in the world if you don't have the best living standards? If you don't have the longest life expectancy, if you don't have the best quality of life for all your citizens. What's the fucking point of being the wealthiest country in the world? So some people can have a bigger boat? Mark Hayes (29:33.598) Yeah, you just went. Mark Hayes (29:43.432) Right. Mark Hayes (29:51.806) Right. Brock Ganeles (29:52.844) So we just have it we have it wrong in America. We just have gotten it wrong. We've let some things that maybe were good. Cap you know, capitalism is a you know, we view it as a good economic system, but we stripped away the guardrails. We allowed it to be a winner take all. We've got away from competitive markets. And we were and we had a shitty tax code that wasn't fair. So we allowed this massive income inequality. We just got capitalism wrong and we need to dial it back. And it's another so when we hear socialist ideas and democratic socialist ideas, they deliver a greater good. Healthcare s socialism and health care, if we had a single payer system, we'd get better outcomes at lower. Mark Hayes (30:24.529) Right. Brock Ganeles (30:42.839) cost and everyone in society would be benefiting from it. And I hope that's the lesson that comes from the from the Knicks is that you know what there's a certain element of socialism that's pretty damn fucking good and everybody gets to join in the success of it. And sometimes that requires the Jalen Brunsons of the world to maybe take a little less money today. Mark Hayes (30:46.172) Would win. Yep. Mark Hayes (31:02.997) Yeah. Mark Hayes (31:10.324) Okay. Yeah. Brock Ganeles (31:12.293) by the way, his long term earnings potential is probably up twenty fold because there's not a company in the world that won't want that guy sponsoring them, right? Because he's the most popular, most respected athlete in America right now, right? He's the most valuable commodity in all of American sports right now. and he and he got there because of what he was willing to give up. And they're just these are just like great lessons, and and I want them in I want these values infused. Mark Hayes (31:23.497) my god. That's the look. Mark Hayes (31:29.834) Yep. Yep. Mark Hayes (31:35.636) Yeah. Okay. Brock Ganeles (31:41.886) Into the rhetoric of the Democratic Party. I want to hear it from the politicians and I want these the policies that create these outcomes to be talked about in a full-throated way and not middle of the road four fucking guys in Iowa around a diner that's not the constituency. Those four guys in the Iowa Diner aren't fucking Knicks fans. Mark Hayes (32:05.074) No, at all. At all. And they're probably still pissed off. Right? Because they didn't get their tractor subsidy or their fertilizer payment is late. It shipment is late. You know? It's it's the same fucking thing. But remember too, bro, you talked about those morals and values. That's the morals and values that Jay Jalen Brunson was raised with. Right? Hard work, teamwork, right? Acceptance of others, right? Be a good person, don't be greedy, right? See value in others. embrace oth be a good sportsman. We can go on and on and on about the the positive characteristics of this guy in perfect opposition to what's in that fucking White House. Right? Greed, just all all seven deadly sins. and it's it's it's Again, it feels so much better to look for joy in the morning than it does to look for the misery that this guy's fucking heaping on us or trying to. Brock Ganeles (33:13.483) Leadership matters. Sometimes we pretend it doesn't, like anyone can do the job, or we want an outsider and this and that, and like you don't need someone smart or empathetic or experienced. Leadership matters. And we in America should recognize most of us, 70% of us, we have horrendous leadership. And it's making the country worse. If we were a sports team, we would have fired Trump. Mark Hayes (33:15.029) Yes, sir. Mark Hayes (33:19.307) Yeah. Mark Hayes (33:37.557) Yep. Yep. Brock Ganeles (33:43.648) No no sport no NBA or NFL coach would still have their job with the performance that Trump has delivered for us. But unfortunately we have to go through elections and cycles and all that, but we gotta fucking get it right. Mark Hayes (33:43.777) my god. Mark Hayes (33:54.442) You can't use everything. Mark Hayes (34:00.564) Yep. Yep. All right, buddy. Great place to end it. Revolution. Brock Ganeles (34:06.413) All right, Mark. Always a pleasure. All right. I'll talk to you tomorrow. All right, thanks, Mark. Bye bye.
