- 0:10Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 0:41Speaker 2: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I am Brian. Hey, this is Roger. I am Misty.
- 0:44Speaker 4: What?
- 0:44Speaker 5: What?
- 1:10Speaker 6: That was awesome.
- 1:12Speaker 3: This is Jay.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Not so awesome.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Not so awesome.
- 1:17Speaker 7: Our lineup keeps changing, fluctuating.
- 1:19Speaker 4: That's part of our charm. Every week at the party
- 1:23Speaker 4: and you never know who's going to be there.
- 1:24Speaker 6: I left Marlena at the flea market yesterday.
- 1:26Speaker 4: That's true.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Did she get sold?
- 1:29Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 8: Nice.
- 1:30Speaker 7: So we got a deal.
- 1:31Speaker 4: What was the going rate?
- 1:32Speaker 6: Two tubs of fudge.
- 1:33Speaker 7: Two tubs of fudge.
- 1:35Speaker 4: You traded her to Amish people?
- 1:36Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Because I think she'd be okay with that.
- 1:38Speaker 8: Nice, nice.
- 1:39Speaker 6: That's why she didn't put up a fight.
- 1:42Speaker 4: It'd be pretty easy to fight Amish people.
- 1:44Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Fight them with modern technology.
- 1:47Speaker 6: They might have fists under their beards.
- 1:50Speaker 8: No.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I would shave them off with my electric razor.
- 1:53Speaker 9: Oh, wow.
- 1:53Speaker 6: They do have a lot of razors in the market.
- 1:55Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Lord.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Should we move on into this week's geek activities?
- 2:00Speaker 7: Yeah, let's go for it.
- 2:01Speaker 4: One of which we've already alluded to, but we'll get
- 2:03Speaker 4: to that later. All right, so for this week, let's see.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I actually watched a couple of new things. I watched
- 2:11Speaker 4: The Book of Eli.
- 2:13Speaker 7: How did you like that?
- 2:14Speaker 11: I didn't see it, but I heard about it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Me too.
- 2:17Speaker 10: I've been kind of holding off on it.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I went into it, and I really didn't know how
- 2:23Speaker 4: I felt about it. I ended up, I think, liking
- 2:25Speaker 4: it more than I expected. I kind of like the
- 2:30Speaker 4: world that they create. I definitely like the action early on.
- 2:34Speaker 4: There's a fight scene at the beginning. Where Denzel just, like,
- 2:37Speaker 4: whips up on these dudes, and it's fucking awesome. And
- 2:40Speaker 4: then there's another one, like, 20 minutes later that's almost
- 2:43Speaker 4: as badass. So it's like, you get a lot of
- 2:46Speaker 4: really cool, like, fight scenes with him, and there's a
- 2:49Speaker 4: really kind of a cool setup with this post-apocalyptic world
- 2:52Speaker 4: going on. So, I mean, all of that I really like.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It does sort of take a turn midway in that it...
- 3:00Speaker 4: I don't know if it slows down, but it gets
- 3:01Speaker 4: a little more predictable, I guess, so... I don't know,
- 3:04Speaker 4: but I still ended up kind of liking overall. I,
- 3:07Speaker 4: I saw sort of where it was going, but it
- 3:09Speaker 4: was okay. You know, cause I liked where it ended up.
- 3:11Speaker 4: So it's like, eh, it's still, it didn't get a
- 3:15Speaker 4: ton of money when it came out and, I can
- 3:17Speaker 4: see it would be a hard sell for a lot
- 3:18Speaker 4: of people, but I don't know. I thought it was
- 3:20Speaker 4: pretty fun.
- 3:21Speaker 7: I kind of heard about the twist, and I was like, oh, really?
- 3:23Speaker 7: Come on. Like, I don't know.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I'm not even sure which twist. I think I know
- 3:28Speaker 4: what you're talking about. I won't ruin it for anybody.
- 3:30Speaker 4: But to me, that wasn't even a twist, really. I
- 3:32Speaker 4: was just like, oh.
- 3:33Speaker 7: But more about, like, the book itself.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I was just like, well, it's still whatever.
- 3:38Speaker 7: I guess it would make sense.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It continued on either way.
- 3:41Speaker 7: But I would like to see it, if that made
- 3:43Speaker 7: any sense at all.
- 3:45Speaker 4: It's still, yeah, it's pretty cool. And you get a
- 3:47Speaker 4: nice little minor role from Tom Waits.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Oh, I love me some Tom Waits.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Tom Waits is freaking awesome in everything. Even in movies
- 3:54Speaker 4: that aren't very good. You can always have fun with Tom.
- 3:57Speaker 7: In Rumblefish, there's like the bar... Owner or whatever.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 6: I like the carny at the fair who sounds like Tom.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I don't think it's actually him, but.
- 4:06Speaker 6: That's why I said the guy at the fair who
- 4:08Speaker 6: sounds like him.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I know. He is very cool.
- 4:10Speaker 6: He wants you to play the game where you shoot
- 4:11Speaker 6: the water and make the little horses go up.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Shoot the water in a clown's mouth.
- 4:14Speaker 4: What's funny is he's always there. We've been to that
- 4:17Speaker 4: how many years? We're also going to Yeah, but you'd
- 4:19Speaker 4: think he'd trade off or he'd end up in a
- 4:20Speaker 4: different city, but nope, he is always there. At the
- 4:24Speaker 4: same booth. At the same booth, yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 3: That's his specialty, is the water in the clown's mouth.
- 4:28Speaker 7: That's his specialty. He went to school for that.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Yeah, he can't just switch off.
- 4:31Speaker 7: He's got a degree in water in a clown's mouth.
- 4:33Speaker 3: He's got a code name. Specialty, water in a clown's mouth.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Wow.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Especially trained in water sports.
- 4:39Speaker 6: Did you watch anything else, or was there any other geekery?
- 4:42Speaker 4: I did. I actually, just yesterday, I watched Batman Under
- 4:46Speaker 4: the Red Hood. Which is a new animated version that
- 4:50Speaker 4: came out.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Sounds dirty.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I didn't say Batman Behind the Green Door.
- 4:56Speaker 7: Or Chokin' on the Red Rocket.
- 4:57Speaker 4: That's a whole different thing. But this one I actually
- 5:01Speaker 4: really liked. I was a big fan of the animated series,
- 5:06Speaker 4: the one that kind of kicked off after the Tim
- 5:09Speaker 4: Burton movies. Yeah, those were good.
- 5:11Speaker 12: I liked them.
- 5:11Speaker 3: They were early 90s, 40-ish.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, it was one of those that, I mean,
- 5:16Speaker 4: they sort of took their cue from the Tim Burton,
- 5:19Speaker 4: but they were almost better because they had so much
- 5:21Speaker 4: more time to play with it.
- 5:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So by the end it's like not only were the
- 5:25Speaker 4: visuals awesome because you got that cool like gotham that
- 5:28Speaker 4: he sort of set but at the same time it's
- 5:31Speaker 4: dark and gritty it also kind of became yeah it
- 5:33Speaker 4: became sort of like a film noir thing and every
- 5:36Speaker 4: you know he was like the detective in everyone because
- 5:38Speaker 4: he is and like it really sort of played with
- 5:40Speaker 4: that as as you watch the series and It was
- 5:43Speaker 4: one of those, yeah, it was really dark and kind
- 5:45Speaker 4: of like weird that it was a network show in
- 5:48Speaker 4: the middle of the afternoon geared for kids. I'm just like,
- 5:51Speaker 4: to me it was better written than 90% of shit
- 5:55Speaker 4: that was on TV. It was supposed to be this
- 5:56Speaker 4: goofy kid show.
- 5:57Speaker 3: They brought out Batman and Beyond.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know what I thought. I didn't watch
- 6:03Speaker 4: much of that.
- 6:03Speaker 7: Yeah, I didn't watch it at all.
- 6:04Speaker 4: It's an interesting idea, but to me it's not the
- 6:07Speaker 4: same thing. It's a whole different thing. But even the
- 6:10Speaker 4: one that they just came out with, this last wave
- 6:12Speaker 4: that was the Batman or whatever, it's still, the artist
- 6:16Speaker 4: doing it, they're a little different. It's got a different
- 6:18Speaker 4: look to it, but it's still kind of playing with that.
- 6:22Speaker 10: I wish they would have done a darker, better version
- 6:24Speaker 10: of Dick Tracy.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah then the stupid what what year when did that
- 6:28Speaker 3: come out 90s.
- 6:29Speaker 4: It was 90 i think it was the year after batman.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah with madonna and.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Uh there's parts of that i like but.
- 6:36Speaker 10: It's parts but for the most part it's just basically
- 6:39Speaker 10: a disney film you know you're just like oh.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Man it does lighten on some of the uh dark
- 6:44Speaker 4: gritty yeah you know Which this is sort of the
- 6:47Speaker 4: world that Batman lives in, especially in the animated version.
- 6:51Speaker 4: You don't want Richard Tracy.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You want Dick Tracy. The private dick. Tracy.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Oh, man. But no, they haven't done it. I mean,
- 7:00Speaker 4: they've done a couple. They've done a lot of those
- 7:02Speaker 4: Justice League ones, and they keep doing a lot of
- 7:04Speaker 4: the other DC. But I don't know how many that
- 7:06Speaker 4: they focus so much on Batman lately. I haven't been
- 7:09Speaker 4: watching them, but. this one to me reminded me a
- 7:11Speaker 4: lot of mask of the phantasm because this one is
- 7:15Speaker 4: rated pg-13 it is it is not pulling any punches
- 7:19Speaker 4: they kill people in this awesome they yeah i mean
- 7:22Speaker 4: it's it's pretty hardcore as far as that i mean
- 7:25Speaker 4: if if you're expecting like a kid's show like it
- 7:28Speaker 4: used to be it's like this this takes a turn
- 7:30Speaker 4: it also takes a turn where they uh it for
- 7:33Speaker 4: anybody who was a big fan of it they've kind
- 7:35Speaker 4: of changed up the voices. So it used to be
- 7:37Speaker 4: Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, and they sort of became
- 7:40Speaker 4: the voices of Batman and Joker.
- 7:43Speaker 7: All the series.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah, they've switched it up. It's actually Batman is Bruce Greenwood,
- 7:49Speaker 4: which you would know as Christopher Pike in Star Trek.
- 7:52Speaker 4: So he's doing Batman in that. And then the one
- 7:55Speaker 4: that's really, it sounds more weird than it is, I guess.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Godfrey is the Joker.
- 8:01Speaker 5: Shit.
- 8:02Speaker 7: Oh my God.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Ha ha, Batman.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Yikes.
- 8:06Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 8:07Speaker 4: But no, the turn they do Joker-wise, it's John DiMaggio,
- 8:13Speaker 4: who is Bender. Really?
- 8:16Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Whichever once in a while you can hear it in there.
- 8:19Speaker 4: It's not as cheesy as it sounds. Because I expected
- 8:22Speaker 4: it to just... I love Bender. But I expected it
- 8:24Speaker 4: to just be Bender. He's awesome from Adventure Time. Yes,
- 8:29Speaker 4: he is. But that's the thing. In Adventure Time, he
- 8:30Speaker 4: sounds like Bender. He's just flat out... You're just like, ha, look, Bender.
- 8:34Speaker 4: That's what I was afraid of when I heard that
- 8:36Speaker 4: they had him as Joker. I was like, oh, that's gonna...
- 8:38Speaker 4: Because Mark Hamill was so good at it.
- 8:40Speaker 3: So good.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I mean, he really created his own character with that.
- 8:43Speaker 4: And that was awesome. And yeah, I was expecting... it
- 8:46Speaker 4: to be way more bender and it would be, it's
- 8:48Speaker 4: not really. He, every once in a while, especially when
- 8:50Speaker 4: you laugh, you kind of, you're like, oh, okay, I
- 8:52Speaker 4: see it. It's him. But, but no, it's, um, he,
- 8:55Speaker 4: he does a good job. He, he plays it differently.
- 8:57Speaker 4: He's not quite as crazy. Most of the time he's
- 9:00Speaker 4: a little more in the real world. He still makes
- 9:03Speaker 4: his weird comments, but yeah, I mean, Mark Hamill played
- 9:05Speaker 4: him pretty certifiable towards the end there. So, I mean, it's, yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 4: it's a little more in control, but then he's also
- 9:12Speaker 4: pretty hardcore as far as the character it's, it's based
- 9:14Speaker 4: off a pretty big issue when all this took place. And,
- 9:17Speaker 4: there's a nice right off the bat you get a
- 9:19Speaker 4: really grim little moment with him so it's yeah it's
- 9:22Speaker 4: uh it's kind of cool but the other ones yeah
- 9:25Speaker 4: Nightwing is Neil Patrick Harris so there you.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Go I love me some Neil Patrick Harris he.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Is fabulous and uh Red Hood is the new bad
- 9:32Speaker 4: guy they bring in and it's Jensen Ackles so they've got.
- 9:35Speaker 6: Sort of a weird forehead they've got like.
- 9:37Speaker 4: An all-star cast going on this thing so it's um
- 9:39Speaker 4: but yeah it's I was surprised how you know how
- 9:43Speaker 4: much they sort of tapped into that old version of
- 9:45Speaker 4: the show that I liked and And Mask of the Phantasm,
- 9:48Speaker 4: which was another one that was sort of a PG-13,
- 9:51Speaker 4: pretty hard look at the Batman idea. So it's pretty serious.
- 9:55Speaker 4: It is something that I don't think you could do
- 9:57Speaker 4: and pull off as just like a normal kid. show.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Because most of it is about the relationship with anybody
- 10:03Speaker 4: who's come into him. It starts off with Nightwing and
- 10:05Speaker 4: then the new Robin that kind of got brought in.
- 10:08Speaker 4: So a lot of that is how Batman relates with
- 10:10Speaker 4: them and how he is supposed to be taking care
- 10:13Speaker 4: of them and feels like he has to protect them
- 10:16Speaker 4: all the time. And him dealing with when he lets
- 10:18Speaker 4: people down. So it's a lot of the really heavy...
- 10:22Speaker 4: you know guilt that makes batman who he is because
- 10:25Speaker 4: that's sort of what built this superhero is nothing but
- 10:28Speaker 4: you know guilt and anger.
- 10:30Speaker 7: The fuel that drives them basically.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yeah so it deals a lot with that and uh
- 10:35Speaker 4: it's kind of cool so it's better than i expected
- 10:37Speaker 4: i guess and i really it still has that look
- 10:39Speaker 4: of the show that i like it's definitely plays up
- 10:42Speaker 4: on that that goth world that you know the closer
- 10:45Speaker 4: to the tim burton version of batman visual wise so
- 10:49Speaker 4: that was awesome too so I'd say check it out.
- 10:52Speaker 4: If you like the old Batman animated series, it's still
- 10:54Speaker 4: pretty cool. But that was most of it for me.
- 10:58Speaker 11: Well, we didn't really have much geekery joining us this week,
- 11:04Speaker 11: but we will next week because we borrowed Fanboys, which
- 11:09Speaker 11: she has not seen, from one of our friends. And
- 11:11Speaker 11: we already watched Fanboys, and I'm kind of looking forward
- 11:14Speaker 11: to watching it again. I mean, I know it didn't
- 11:15Speaker 11: take a lot from it the first time. I'm just
- 11:18Speaker 11: not a really big, big, big, huge Star Wars fan.
- 11:21Speaker 6: But Kristen Bell was wearing the Slave Lair.
- 11:23Speaker 7: Kristen Bell in the Slave Lair is awesome.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Definitely.
- 11:27Speaker 11: So I can only say to be continued for us,
- 11:31Speaker 11: because that's what we'll bring to the table next week.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I will say, and this is one I don't think
- 11:35Speaker 4: I knew, because at the time we still, as much
- 11:37Speaker 4: as the rest of us kind of liked it, we
- 11:39Speaker 4: still had our issues with it. I have to say,
- 11:43Speaker 4: right after that, I heard an interview with the director
- 11:46Speaker 4: about I give them so much credit for what came
- 11:49Speaker 4: out of it. The fact that it was as good
- 11:51Speaker 4: as it was, I can find you the link. Because,
- 11:55Speaker 4: I mean, it's amazing how much shit they put him
- 11:58Speaker 4: through on that and how he got taken off of
- 12:00Speaker 4: it and other people came in and shot stuff. And
- 12:02Speaker 4: he was trying to just get his property back from them.
- 12:05Speaker 4: and piece it together at some point and some stuff
- 12:08Speaker 4: he could reshoot and add and other stuff he just couldn't. So,
- 12:11Speaker 4: I mean, it's, it was an amazing story to hear
- 12:15Speaker 4: the ordeal that he went through just from concept to
- 12:18Speaker 4: what ended up coming out. And he's, you know, he's
- 12:21Speaker 4: like the way that I originally had it planned. would
- 12:24Speaker 4: have been great. And he's like, I'm still pleased with
- 12:26Speaker 4: how it turned out, how I was able to salvage
- 12:29Speaker 4: what's there.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 4: But yeah, it's, it's a director.
- 12:32Speaker 11: It's like, I wish I could have done what I
- 12:34Speaker 11: wanted to do, but for whatever reasons, budget money, somebody else.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 4: So producing, looking back at it, I'm kind of like,
- 12:41Speaker 4: it still had a lot of really good stuff in it.
- 12:43Speaker 4: So I'm impressed that he pieced together what he did
- 12:46Speaker 4: and even got it out period. Cause there was a
- 12:48Speaker 4: while where even that wasn't going to happen. So, Yeah. So, yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 4: know that going in.
- 12:54Speaker 9: Okay, sweet.
- 12:54Speaker 4: And, yeah, if you want, I can try to find
- 12:56Speaker 4: that because it's a pretty cool interview.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
- 12:59Speaker 7: So that's pretty much nothing in all for us.
- 13:03Speaker 5: I don't think we collectively watched anything. I watched some
- 13:05Speaker 5: stuff by myself.
- 13:06Speaker 10: I watched.
- 13:08Speaker 6: I watched Burning Bright, which I was really excited about.
- 13:10Speaker 6: I really did. I liked it. For me, it was suspenseful.
- 13:14Speaker 6: It was about the tiger in the house.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Yeah, we brought it up several weeks back. Oh, God, yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 7: I fucking love that movie. He'd be fucked.
- 13:22Speaker 5: I mean, there's the whole story with her stepdad, and
- 13:26Speaker 5: you fucking hate the guy instantaneously.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Not us.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Huh?
- 13:30Speaker 3: We wouldn't be fucked.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Because you're going to shoot the tiger.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, we would.
- 13:33Speaker 6: We're fucking loaded.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Loaded.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Loaded for bear.
- 13:39Speaker 5: But seriously, you hate the stepdad because he's the one
- 13:41Speaker 5: who blows all the money on a fucking tiger in
- 13:43Speaker 5: the first place.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Dumbass.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Because he wanted to start this whole nature reserve park.
- 13:49Speaker 5: So he wanted people to come to their house and
- 13:51Speaker 5: see all these animals and shit. And he wanted, we've
- 13:53Speaker 5: got to have something scary. And what's scarier than a tiger?
- 13:57Speaker 4: Well, you don't put it in your house, dumbass.
- 13:59Speaker 6: And this whole thing was, well, to control a tiger,
- 14:01Speaker 6: what do you do? You don't feed it.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Good plan.
- 14:05Speaker 6: That way you show the tiger who's boss.
- 14:07Speaker 5: So when the girl and her autistic brother wake up
- 14:11Speaker 5: in the morning.
- 14:12Speaker 7: Was it funny or not?
- 14:15Speaker 4: We're so pussy.
- 14:16Speaker 6: That's noxious little kid.
- 14:18Speaker 5: But anyways, yeah, they wake up and holy shit, there's
- 14:21Speaker 5: a tiger in the house. And there's a hurricane going
- 14:23Speaker 5: on too. leave the house because it's all been boarded
- 14:26Speaker 5: up the front door has been boarded shut so it's
- 14:28Speaker 5: obviously kind of planned and her stepdad you find out
- 14:32Speaker 5: let the tiger in.
- 14:33Speaker 4: There the one two punch of a tiger and a hurricane.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Yeah I'd be less afraid of the hurricane but anyways
- 14:39Speaker 5: yeah to me it was kind of suspenseful because you're
- 14:42Speaker 5: like oh shit.
- 14:43Speaker 6: There's a tiger in the fucking house.
- 14:44Speaker 5: And you're like oh it's a pretty kitty and then
- 14:47Speaker 5: you're like oh he's going to eat your face.
- 14:48Speaker 7: But they are big I love big.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Kitties but yeah that was pretty awesome I liked it
- 14:53Speaker 5: I was happy with it then I watched I watched
- 14:55Speaker 5: The Prowler, which I think is from, like, I'm guessing
- 14:57Speaker 5: early 80s. I didn't look up the date or anything. Like,
- 14:59Speaker 5: late 70s, early 80s. Around the same time as, like,
- 15:03Speaker 5: my bloody Valentine. Because it's pretty much the exact same
- 15:05Speaker 5: fucking story. There was a homecoming dance or graduation dance, like,
- 15:09Speaker 5: 30 years ago. And some people got killed by a
- 15:11Speaker 5: guy dressed up in an army outfit.
- 15:13Speaker 6: And they never say who it was.
- 15:15Speaker 5: So then 30 years later, after not having had this dance...
- 15:17Speaker 5: they're gonna have it again the first time they do
- 15:19Speaker 5: and yeah people start dying again by a guy in
- 15:22Speaker 5: an army mask or army outfit.
- 15:24Speaker 7: It was the son of the guy who did it originally.
- 15:26Speaker 6: They don't even really say really.
- 15:28Speaker 5: What a cop out they say he did it but
- 15:30Speaker 5: they don't really say why or anything but it actually
- 15:33Speaker 5: just has some really good death scenes for like you
- 15:35Speaker 5: know early 80s there was some gruesome shit there was
- 15:37Speaker 5: a uh a pickaxe up through somebody's head.
- 15:40Speaker 6: That was pretty awesome.
- 15:41Speaker 4: It's pretty My Bloody Valentine, too.
- 15:43Speaker 6: Yeah, it was a good time.
- 15:45Speaker 4: They were the same year. They're both 1981. I don't
- 15:47Speaker 4: know which one stole from the other one first.
- 15:49Speaker 6: I don't know, but it was awesome. I love My
- 15:51Speaker 6: Bloody Valentine.
- 15:52Speaker 5: I would say this one's not as good as My
- 15:53Speaker 5: Bloody Valentine, but it was pretty fun.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I was always a big fan of the original.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, me too.
- 15:58Speaker 4: As a kid, not supposed to be watching it on cable.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I did anyway, and I thought it was fucking awesome.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I loved it.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Yeah, that was the end of that one. Then I
- 16:06Speaker 5: watched Dead End. Which I'm not really sure I felt
- 16:10Speaker 5: about it.
- 16:11Speaker 6: I was going to say I fucking loved it, but
- 16:13Speaker 6: then I'm like, the more I think about it, maybe
- 16:14Speaker 6: I didn't.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Which one was it?
- 16:16Speaker 6: Dead End. There's a guy, Ray Weiss, who's fucking awesome.
- 16:20Speaker 6: I love Ray Weiss.
- 16:21Speaker 5: And his wife in the movie's name is Laura. So
- 16:23Speaker 5: all the time I'm like, dude, no, you're Laura Palmer's dad.
- 16:26Speaker 5: You shouldn't be married to a girl named Laura. But anyways,
- 16:28Speaker 5: because Laura Palmer and Ray Weiss.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Laura Palmer.
- 16:31Speaker 5: But anyway, so they're on their way. It's Christmas, and
- 16:34Speaker 5: they're on their way to her family's house, which he
- 16:36Speaker 5: is not happy about.
- 16:37Speaker 6: And he takes a shortcut through the woods.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Oops. That's where it always begins.
- 16:40Speaker 5: And then they're almost in a wreck, and then it's
- 16:43Speaker 5: the whole thing where they all end up getting picked
- 16:45Speaker 5: off one by one.
- 16:45Speaker 7: Are they redneck cannibals?
- 16:46Speaker 4: No.
- 16:47Speaker 5: No.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Thank God.
- 16:48Speaker 5: It's just they're... A girl in a white dress shows up,
- 16:51Speaker 5: and she's got a dead baby, and then the person
- 16:55Speaker 5: will get wandered off, and then they'll go driving by
- 16:58Speaker 5: in a hearse, and it's fucking weird. It's got elements
- 17:02Speaker 5: from Soul Survivor in it, which you should know what
- 17:06Speaker 5: I'm talking about there. You should kind of know where
- 17:09Speaker 5: it leads you. But it's still interesting. Actually, I didn't
- 17:12Speaker 5: expect the end, but when I went back and thought
- 17:16Speaker 5: about it, I'm like, Yes, Santa Claus. He's an evil
- 17:18Speaker 5: fucking bastard.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Silent Night, Deadly Night.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Then I watched.
- 17:23Speaker 5: I went back after my John Schneider love fest. I
- 17:26Speaker 5: went back and I've been watching the... I watched all
- 17:29Speaker 5: of season one of Dukes of Hazzard. And I gotta say,
- 17:32Speaker 5: it's still fucking awesome. I still get excited whenever they
- 17:34Speaker 5: go over a ramp and go, yeehaw, I don't care.
- 17:37Speaker 5: It just shows fucking awesome.
- 17:40Speaker 6: It is. It's got the tight pants.
- 17:42Speaker 4: I think you're liking it on a different level than
- 17:44Speaker 4: we did as children.
- 17:45Speaker 5: I never.
- 17:47Speaker 4: I don't remember ever, yeah, getting that into it on
- 17:50Speaker 4: that level.
- 17:50Speaker 7: I wanted General Lee when I grew up. I wanted
- 17:52Speaker 7: tight pants.
- 17:53Speaker 6: You did have tight pants.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I had the little Hot Wheels version of the car.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I think that was what I was a little more
- 17:58Speaker 4: entertained with. It's awesome.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yes, sir.
- 18:01Speaker 6: He was shirtless quite a bit.
- 18:02Speaker 4: That was awesome.
- 18:03Speaker 5: And you watched a couple episodes with me.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Was it as awesome as you remember it being as
- 18:08Speaker 6: a child?
- 18:09Speaker 3: As a kid, yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 10: I remember loving the hell out of that show.
- 18:12Speaker 6: I still love the hell out of it, though. It's
- 18:14Speaker 6: just as awesome.
- 18:14Speaker 4: But I had the Hot Wheel, the hurdle.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Hot Wheel that got taken away from me at school.
- 18:19Speaker 7: Damn.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Fucking teacher. Damn.
- 18:21Speaker 3: And then bought me another one.
- 18:23Speaker 4: You got a frowny face that day.
- 18:24Speaker 3: In your fucking eye. Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 7: This one's pretty amazing.
- 18:27Speaker 6: Yeah, it's still fucking awesome.
- 18:28Speaker 9: I love this show.
- 18:29Speaker 3: It's still awesome.
- 18:31Speaker 10: Yeah. I think the only dual geek activity that we
- 18:35Speaker 10: did was, aside from the flea market, was we.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Which we went on top of the flea market because
- 18:39Speaker 5: I bought me a shitload of like 1980s.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Teeny bumper magazines with Corey Haim in them. And George Snyder.
- 18:47Speaker 3: We also played Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Which we kicked ass at.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Which we kick ass at, yes.
- 18:55Speaker 7: That's the rail shooting. The newer one.
- 18:59Speaker 3: That covers... Code Veronica. Code Veronica and.
- 19:04Speaker 7: I love the first one.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I think Resident Evil 3, Nemesis.
- 19:08Speaker 7: Nemesis 3.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Is that the one that takes place in the city
- 19:11Speaker 3: with the cop?
- 19:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. So it's three... It covers three and then Veronica. Oh, wow.
- 19:17Speaker 10: So, yeah, it's pretty cool because there's some rooms you
- 19:20Speaker 10: don't get to go in because then you're like, hey,
- 19:22Speaker 10: I want to go in this room, but it doesn't
- 19:24Speaker 10: let you because it's a rail shooter. But then in
- 19:26Speaker 10: order to play this game, we had to go get
- 19:28Speaker 10: the official Resident Evil.
- 19:29Speaker 6: We didn't have to go.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, no, we needed them.
- 19:31Speaker 10: We had to get them the official Wii Resident Evil blasters.
- 19:36Speaker 9: Awesome.
- 19:36Speaker 7: Dude, that game, I remember the first one, it was just,
- 19:41Speaker 7: The Umbrella Chronicles. Which is fucking awesome.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I blew through.
- 19:44Speaker 6: That in one night.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Yeah, we went through that one in one night.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Yikes.
- 19:48Speaker 11: My friend and I sat and unlocked every single thing
- 19:50Speaker 11: you could, which was really difficult. Like, later on, we
- 19:53Speaker 11: had to do everything perfectly on the hardest hits.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Like, oh, God.
- 19:57Speaker 7: But those games are excellent.
- 19:59Speaker 3: They're excellent. Love the hell out of them.
- 20:00Speaker 6: I still think the Overkill one's probably my favorite.
- 20:02Speaker 3: House of the Dead?
- 20:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:03Speaker 10: Yeah, that one's got to be... If anybody owns a Wii,
- 20:07Speaker 10: if you do like rail shooters... and you haven't gotten
- 20:10Speaker 10: to check out House of the Dead Overkill, get it.
- 20:13Speaker 10: It's fucking awesome. It's way over the top. It's shot
- 20:17Speaker 10: like Grindhouse. The guy, it's basically, you've got to watch
- 20:22Speaker 10: the language. Don't let your kids play it because every
- 20:24Speaker 10: single thing is like, fuck this motherfucking zombies.
- 20:28Speaker 3: They're shooting it.
- 20:28Speaker 10: It's just ridiculous, bloody, gory as hell, but absolutely fun.
- 20:34Speaker 4: That's what I always say.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yeah. And then we went to the flea market.
- 20:38Speaker 5: We went to the flea market and I bought seven
- 20:40Speaker 5: magazines from like the early 80s and early 90s that
- 20:42Speaker 5: had John Schneider and Corey Haim.
- 20:47Speaker 6: Not the same magazines, because that would just be kind
- 20:49Speaker 6: of strange, but yes, independently they.
- 20:51Speaker 8: Were the magazines.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Yeah, they were of different eras.
- 20:53Speaker 3: A lot of teen bop and teen.
- 20:54Speaker 6: Big bop.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Big bop and teen.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Wow. A lot of new kids were going on at
- 20:59Speaker 5: that time. Yikes. Oh, the ones from the early 80s
- 21:01Speaker 5: were kind of scary, because there was guys in there,
- 21:03Speaker 5: and you're like, oh, that was hot, really?
- 21:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:07Speaker 4: John Hexum.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Richard Grieco.
- 21:09Speaker 6: Hey, Richard Grieco was fucking awesome. Don't talk about Booker.
- 21:12Speaker 13: No.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Booker.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I'm a new dog.
- 21:16Speaker 6: Hey, there was some Menudo.
- 21:17Speaker 3: There was some Menudo. A lot of new kids.
- 21:19Speaker 4: There was some Leif Garrett, too.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Who was that one guy? I can't stand.
- 21:23Speaker 7: Marky Mark and the fucking.
- 21:25Speaker 5: No, hey, don't talk shit about Marky Mark. He's got
- 21:28Speaker 5: three nipples and the bitches like to suck it.
- 21:30Speaker 4: That's what I hear.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Oh, he's not a Corey, is he?
- 21:33Speaker 6: There's only two Corys.
- 21:36Speaker 3: No, no, it's the other one that was in... Is
- 21:39Speaker 3: it Full House?
- 21:41Speaker 6: John Stamos?
- 21:42Speaker 4: He was in some of those, though.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Which we did.
- 21:45Speaker 6: There was a pinup of him in there from the
- 21:47Speaker 6: early 80s.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Are we talking Kirk Cameron? Oh, God. Everybody hates that guy, too.
- 21:52Speaker 7: He's a religious nut.
- 21:53Speaker 4: See, that's the thing. I didn't hate him back in
- 21:54Speaker 4: the day. I hate him now when I've heard some
- 21:56Speaker 4: of the things he did back then, and now his crazy, ugh,
- 22:00Speaker 4: I don't know. He just seems crazy now. So now
- 22:03Speaker 4: I hate him. That's right.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Yeah, that wraps up all we watched. Oh, yeah, we
- 22:06Speaker 6: did go to the flea market.
- 22:07Speaker 5: There was some fudge there, which I'm still excited about,
- 22:09Speaker 5: which is why Marlena traded her in.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Do you want to tell the glove story?
- 22:14Speaker 3: The glove story? Oh, the fur mittens? Oh, no.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Those were frightening. She wouldn't even take a picture of them.
- 22:20Speaker 6: I'm like, why? Put them on. So I take a picture.
- 22:23Speaker 6: She's like, no, I don't want to put my hand
- 22:24Speaker 6: in there.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they were fur mittens. They were probably made out
- 22:28Speaker 3: of fox fur.
- 22:30Speaker 10: And fox skin. Basically looked like a mummified Eskimo. They
- 22:34Speaker 10: were all dried and beef jerky-like, and she.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Didn't want to stick her hands in them. I can't
- 22:38Speaker 4: imagine why.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I guess she still picked.
- 22:40Speaker 9: Them up, though.
- 22:40Speaker 7: She still picked them up. That's pretty foul.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Just eat them.
- 22:44Speaker 7: Just nibble some of that.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Just eat them.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Yum, yum, yum, yum.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Nom, nom, nom. Probably better than the food at the point.
- 22:51Speaker 6: Hey, I ate some fries.
- 22:52Speaker 3: She ate some fries. She was okay.
- 22:54Speaker 6: You ate some fries, too.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I ate some fries, too.
- 22:56Speaker 6: You snitched my fries.
- 22:57Speaker 3: He co-offered them.
- 22:58Speaker 14: I know.
- 23:00Speaker 6: That way I can make you throw away the box
- 23:01Speaker 6: when I was done. I didn't offer you any food.
- 23:04Speaker 6: I couldn't make you throw it away later.
- 23:06Speaker 4: You still would.
- 23:06Speaker 10: The thing I don't understand is these flea markets. It
- 23:10Speaker 10: was the big antique flea market that they have at
- 23:13Speaker 10: the fairgrounds.
- 23:13Speaker 7: The double-sided one.
- 23:15Speaker 10: The thing that I don't understand is the flea market
- 23:17Speaker 10: seems to drag out people with their dogs.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Dogs and strollers.
- 23:23Speaker 10: The only thing more ridiculous than that was the guy
- 23:27Speaker 10: walking around with the baby hammock on his stomach that
- 23:33Speaker 10: had the dog in it.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Like, you know, the baby carriers. Like the papoose?
- 23:37Speaker 4: Wow.
- 23:37Speaker 3: The ones that puts the baby on the front.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I've seen those.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Are you kidding me? The guy had his dog in
- 23:42Speaker 3: it with the legs sticking out. What a fucking.
- 23:45Speaker 7: Oh, God. You could just die in a car crash
- 23:47Speaker 7: and the world would be better.
- 23:48Speaker 13: But the only thing, you know, it's silly and almost
- 23:52Speaker 13: ridiculous to see all these people pushing their dogs around
- 23:54Speaker 13: in strollers, but at least their dogs don't pick up
- 23:57Speaker 13: shit that's breakable and then drop it and go, whoops,
- 24:01Speaker 13: I didn't break it.
- 24:02Speaker 9: Yeah, right.
- 24:03Speaker 3: You know what?
- 24:04Speaker 10: You don't need to be pricking up antique shit, you're
- 24:05Speaker 10: a kid, okay? And you can't afford half the shit anyway,
- 24:08Speaker 10: so quit picking stuff up.
- 24:09Speaker 4: And more importantly, their parents should be telling them.
- 24:12Speaker 3: No, you know, I'm picking up this fucking fabric.
- 24:14Speaker 7: Get all of your freaking redneck mongoloid son.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Hey, mama, what's this? I didn't break it.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Not only am I on board for the leashes for children,
- 24:27Speaker 4: I'm also on board for choker chains.
- 24:31Speaker 3: I've got a kid. She knows damn well better not
- 24:33Speaker 3: to touch stuff when we go out.
- 24:34Speaker 6: No, she does not.
- 24:35Speaker 3: For the most part. And when we're at the antique
- 24:38Speaker 3: flea market.
- 24:38Speaker 6: We don't take her anywhere anymore.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Somebody's learned a lesson, but it might have been you.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Other than that, I didn't watch anything. I've read books.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Reading i know it goes against our ways.
- 24:52Speaker 5: I was gonna say they didn't even have pictures but
- 24:54Speaker 5: some of them kind of did yeah i read the
- 24:57Speaker 5: never-ending story which jesus h fucking christ i was beginning
- 25:00Speaker 5: to think it was not making shit up that it
- 25:02Speaker 5: was never going to.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Fucking end it was true to its name.
- 25:04Speaker 5: I'm fucking serious dude i was that's the one that
- 25:06Speaker 5: had pictures because kind of cool because each chapter started
- 25:10Speaker 5: with a different letter of the alphabet like a b
- 25:11Speaker 5: c d all the way through so it had little
- 25:13Speaker 5: pictures for each chapter page that was kind of neat
- 25:15Speaker 5: little pictures.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Jesus Dates Christ took forever to read.
- 25:18Speaker 5: I was mad because it covers, like, the first half
- 25:21Speaker 5: of the book is the first movie.
- 25:22Speaker 6: And I love the movie.
- 25:24Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 6: The first movie's fucking awesome.
- 25:25Speaker 4: It is awesome, yes.
- 25:26Speaker 6: The second movie, eh, I'm not so big on it.
- 25:28Speaker 4: But does the second movie tie into the book at all?
- 25:30Speaker 5: See, I don't remember the second movie that much, but
- 25:32Speaker 5: I remember he went back home after the first movie.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 6: No, in the book, he fucking stays there. He's there
- 25:39Speaker 6: until the end of the fucking book.
- 25:41Speaker 4: He's hooking up with the name of the chick that
- 25:43Speaker 4: you can never decipher what her name is.
- 25:45Speaker 6: In the book, it's Moonchild.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Moonchild.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Fucking hippie. Anyway, in the book.
- 25:50Speaker 4: He's hooking up with Moonchild.
- 25:52Speaker 6: In the book... Moonchild.
- 25:53Speaker 5: In the book, Bastion's this little fat fucking useless kid
- 25:56Speaker 5: that can't do anything right. So, yeah, I don't know
- 25:59Speaker 5: anything worse than fat kids. It's fat useless kids, and
- 26:01Speaker 5: it's even worse if they're redheads.
- 26:03Speaker 6: But anyways.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Ginger fat useless kids.
- 26:05Speaker 5: God, that's the worst right there. Anyways, so the first
- 26:09Speaker 5: part of the book is the first movie, which is awesome.
- 26:11Speaker 5: I don't know if I was okay with the first part.
- 26:12Speaker 5: And then it gets to the part where he's in Fantasia,
- 26:14Speaker 5: which in the book it's called Fantastica, which is just
- 26:16Speaker 5: fucking stupid and gay. And I guess they realized how
- 26:18Speaker 5: fucking stupid it sounded when they actually had to say
- 26:20Speaker 5: it on a regular basis.
- 26:20Speaker 6: So for the movie, they changed it.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Well, probably Disney, though. I'm assuming Disney owns the rights
- 26:25Speaker 4: to that now. Or did at the time, anyway.
- 26:27Speaker 6: Anyway, so he's in Fantastica, which is the name of
- 26:30Speaker 6: the book. And he's just there.
- 26:31Speaker 5: And the whole second half of the book, the book's
- 26:34Speaker 5: 445 pages long. So it's never any story.
- 26:37Speaker 6: It's a certain amount of pages. But anyway, it's just
- 26:40Speaker 6: the whole rest of the book.
- 26:41Speaker 5: It's him making wishes and making up Fantasia again.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Because everything's disappeared and he has to go through and
- 26:47Speaker 6: make it all back up.
- 26:49Speaker 4: I side with the nothing.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Cause that guy was fucking awesome. God, the nothing was
- 26:55Speaker 4: fucking cool.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:57Speaker 6: But then it's the whole second half.
- 26:58Speaker 5: It was just him being a whiny bitch and he
- 27:00Speaker 5: makes him, he wishes himself not fat and he wishes
- 27:02Speaker 5: himself to be the smartest and the fastest and the strongest.
- 27:06Speaker 7: No wonder he never left. Cause he didn't want to
- 27:08Speaker 7: go back home and be a fucking fat useless nobody.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Exactly. And then by the end, he's like, by every
- 27:12Speaker 5: wish he makes, he like loses memories of being human.
- 27:15Speaker 6: So he doesn't want to fucking go back anymore.
- 27:17Speaker 4: And, It's just a conundrum.
- 27:20Speaker 7: Yeah, they don't want you.
- 27:21Speaker 5: But he's back to the end where he's wanting to
- 27:23Speaker 5: go back home. He don't remember why he wants to
- 27:24Speaker 5: go home in the first place because he don't remember nothing.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Well, wish that part away, too.
- 27:27Speaker 6: God, he's just a whiny.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Little bitch, and he screws over Trey. That's another thing
- 27:33Speaker 5: that bothered me. That's why Trey was horse-talked, and I
- 27:35Speaker 5: don't like Artex talking because he's sinking into the sand.
- 27:38Speaker 6: He shouldn't be talking about how he's dying. That's just depressing.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah, right?
- 27:41Speaker 4: It's depressing enough anyway.
- 27:43Speaker 3: He's got the Eeyore voice and he's singing.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I'm dying now sure wish you'd pull me out but
- 27:51Speaker 4: i guess i'm gonna die ah fucking hell yeah that
- 27:54Speaker 4: seems traumatizing like still.
- 27:56Speaker 14: I i hate to think about that crying when i
- 27:59Speaker 14: was like yeah dude seriously that movie it's so awesome
- 28:02Speaker 14: it is it is one of my favorite movies from
- 28:04Speaker 14: that time period i think it's better than dark crystal
- 28:06Speaker 14: it's oh it's I still love The Labyrinth, though, so
- 28:09Speaker 14: I can't say it's.
- 28:09Speaker 6: Better than that.
- 28:10Speaker 4: I would almost. As much as I like Dark Crystal,
- 28:12Speaker 4: The NeverEnding Story is fucking awesome. It really is.
- 28:15Speaker 7: It's more epic than Dark Crystal, I think.
- 28:18Speaker 5: But yeah, The NeverEnding Story, it pissed me off. It
- 28:20Speaker 5: was just way too much of words and whiny.
- 28:23Speaker 6: Little fat kids.
- 28:24Speaker 4: I told you about the books.
- 28:24Speaker 7: Yeah, damn books.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Books is nothing but words.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Then I read The Bad Seed, which just goes to
- 28:29Speaker 5: prove that kids are just inherently evil.
- 28:31Speaker 6: And it's just about that.
- 28:32Speaker 4: That's true.
- 28:33Speaker 7: Some kids are just born bad.
- 28:34Speaker 6: I haven't watched the movie. I want to watch the
- 28:36Speaker 6: movie someday.
- 28:37Speaker 5: But yeah, the little kid, she's probably killing people if
- 28:39Speaker 5: they have stuff she wants. Which I'm like, so you
- 28:40Speaker 5: better watch out if that kid tries to get any
- 28:42Speaker 5: of my shit.
- 28:43Speaker 4: I want to watch that. We're throwing that on the list.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Because I want to watch the old movie.
- 28:47Speaker 6: We should totally watch that. We'll watch that next time
- 28:49Speaker 6: we have an opening. But yeah, it was awesome.
- 28:50Speaker 4: Definitely.
- 28:51Speaker 5: But yeah, I was pissed off at the end, though.
- 28:53Speaker 5: I don't know if I can't get away with the
- 28:54Speaker 5: end of the book. Because if we watched the movie,
- 28:56Speaker 5: that would kind of ruin that. I don't know how
- 28:57Speaker 5: the movie ends.
- 28:58Speaker 4: I don't either, so no spoilers.
- 29:00Speaker 7: No spoilers.
- 29:01Speaker 4: No swiping swiper.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Who was it that fucking recommended that I watch The
- 29:06Speaker 5: Room in the first place?
- 29:07Speaker 4: That would be both Naked Eskimo and Barbarella Colt.
- 29:11Speaker 5: All right, first of all, fuck that movie. Second of all,
- 29:13Speaker 5: I played the game. There is an online game. I
- 29:17Speaker 5: don't know the website.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Which, first of all, I forwarded it to both of them.
- 29:20Speaker 4: They both seem excited by it. So I'm just telling
- 29:22Speaker 4: you guys that originally came from Misty. So she's doing
- 29:26Speaker 4: you a favor.
- 29:26Speaker 5: And I'll let you know, I played the game all
- 29:29Speaker 5: the way through from beginning to end, so I think
- 29:31Speaker 5: that qualifies as watching the movie.
- 29:34Speaker 6: And I'm not watching that movie again. Fuck that movie.
- 29:37Speaker 6: It was horrible. And there's my review of the movie.
- 29:39Speaker 5: It sucked ass although it was fun because in the
- 29:42Speaker 5: little video game he gets in the shower he does
- 29:44Speaker 5: this little naked dance little 8-bit.
- 29:48Speaker 4: That's what's so awesome about that game is yeah it's
- 29:50Speaker 4: super old school graphics.
- 29:52Speaker 5: But he has his little 8-bits jiggling about in 8-bit
- 29:56Speaker 5: yeah jiggling around ass and everything horrible acting And even
- 30:00Speaker 5: in a video game. I had the sound down so
- 30:03Speaker 5: I couldn't actually hear anything going on. I don't want
- 30:05Speaker 5: to hear that shit.
- 30:07Speaker 6: So yes, I played the game.
- 30:10Speaker 4: The game. Of the room.
- 30:13Speaker 6: So there.
- 30:13Speaker 4: There you go. That's almost even better than watching the movie.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Because nobody, everybody's watched the movie at this point. How
- 30:20Speaker 4: many people have given you a review of the game?
- 30:23Speaker 5: Yeah, it went on and on and on. Since I've
- 30:25Speaker 5: never seen the movie, I didn't know when it was
- 30:26Speaker 5: going to fucking end. So I kept playing it. I
- 30:29Speaker 5: sunk a good 45 minutes of my night the other
- 30:31Speaker 5: night into this game, which I'm still hoping is less
- 30:33Speaker 5: than actually watching the movie. So yeah, I played the
- 30:36Speaker 5: game all the way through. So I'm guessing that's what
- 30:39Speaker 5: happened in the movie. In my head, that's what happened.
- 30:42Speaker 5: It's a lame movie, and I'm not going to watch it.
- 30:45Speaker 6: Screw you guys.
- 30:47Speaker 4: With love, Misty.
- 30:49Speaker 7: Love, Misty.
- 30:50Speaker 5: No, it's nothing against them. Just fuck that movie. And
- 30:52Speaker 5: fuck everybody in that movie. Except for I don't want to.
- 30:55Speaker 9: Ew.
- 30:55Speaker 5: Ew.
- 30:56Speaker 6: There's some ugly, misfortunate people in that movie.
- 30:59Speaker 9: People.
- 30:59Speaker 4: People.
- 31:01Speaker 6: I went to Walmart for a second. Woo, we're from Indiana.
- 31:05Speaker 12: Woo.
- 31:05Speaker 7: Noodle bombing.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Noodle bombing.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Do you want to tell that story?
- 31:10Speaker 6: I don't know if I want to tell that story again.
- 31:12Speaker 6: I've already told it four times now.
- 31:15Speaker 4: But it's better with the accent.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Tell it, because I think everybody wants to hear it.
- 31:18Speaker 6: I don't think anybody wants to hear it.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Oh, you know, they like Marlene.
- 31:21Speaker 6: You've heard it enough by now. You could probably tell it.
- 31:23Speaker 5: No, no.
- 31:23Speaker 4: No, you've got to do the accent. Come on.
- 31:25Speaker 6: I've got to do the voice?
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 31:27Speaker 6: It's on the shuttle. It starts off the same.
- 31:30Speaker 5: It's on the shuttle at work. And there was this
- 31:32Speaker 5: redneck bitch and her friend, and they were talking. So
- 31:34Speaker 5: this is the conversation I heard.
- 31:35Speaker 6: She's like, so... We were at the Kenny Chesney concert.
- 31:39Speaker 6: They were tailgating.
- 31:41Speaker 5: We didn't go into the show. We stayed out in
- 31:42Speaker 5: the parking lot tailgating. And we were drinking, but we
- 31:45Speaker 5: forgot our beer bong. So we were out there, and
- 31:47Speaker 5: we had a pool noodle. So we were beer bonging
- 31:50Speaker 5: with a pool noodle. And there was this guy. He
- 31:51Speaker 5: was driving around on one of those little golf carts.
- 31:53Speaker 5: He was recording everybody, so they could put it on TV.
- 31:55Speaker 5: And he drove by, and he recorded us with our
- 31:58Speaker 5: noodle bong.
- 31:58Speaker 6: We were like, whoo, we're from Indiana.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 32:01Speaker 6: I was like, oh, God.
- 32:03Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 32:05Speaker 6: I think the story gets better every time I tell
- 32:06Speaker 6: it to add new stuff.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Noodle bombing.
- 32:09Speaker 7: Noodle bombing.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Noodle bombing.
- 32:11Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's what now represents Indiana out there.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Yikes.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I have nothing to do with them.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Me neither, and I'm from Indiana.
- 32:20Speaker 4: No, I'm not claiming Indiana.
- 32:23Speaker 6: At least she wasn't in a garbage can when she
- 32:25Speaker 6: did it.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, right?
- 32:27Speaker 4: That's Clarksville specifically. Clarksville.
- 32:30Speaker 6: No, seriously.
- 32:30Speaker 5: There was a little girl swimming in a metal garbage can.
- 32:32Speaker 5: It wasn't really swimming so much as bobbing up and down.
- 32:34Speaker 5: She wasn't a small child.
- 32:35Speaker 4: She was probably about 12.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Oh, God.
- 32:37Speaker 4: You can't do laps in a trash can.
- 32:40Speaker 6: Metal trash can. Nice and rusty.
- 32:43Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 32:44Speaker 4: She's dead from tetanus now.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, right?
- 32:46Speaker 4: It's okay to laugh at her. She's dead.
- 32:47Speaker 6: She got the Tetris now.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure her parents referred to it as that.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Oh, goodness.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Can't believe Tetris killed our little girl.
- 32:56Speaker 7: What the hell was that, guys?
- 32:58Speaker 3: Damn you, Russians.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Damn, so weird.
- 33:02Speaker 5: It's killed her. At a Kenny Chesney concert. And I
- 33:06Speaker 5: just thought that's the only way you can say... Kenny
- 33:09Speaker 5: Chesney concert.
- 33:09Speaker 7: I believe so.
- 33:10Speaker 6: It's a Kenny Chesney concert.
- 33:12Speaker 4: The week before I was making fun of the girls
- 33:14Speaker 4: from Sugar Land. I didn't know what was playing that night.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Were they opening for Kenny Chesney?
- 33:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I just knew it was somebody that brought in
- 33:21Speaker 4: all the girls in the denim skirts and the boots.
- 33:23Speaker 4: I was just like, oh, God.
- 33:25Speaker 6: Oh, the Hustle Cowgirls?
- 33:26Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, they were all wearing that outfit.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I was just like, why?
- 33:29Speaker 3: It's the replacement for the mullet now.
- 33:32Speaker 10: Either it's the denim skirt or the cut-off jeans with
- 33:36Speaker 10: the pockets hanging out of them, which is what my
- 33:38Speaker 10: dad actually wears. yeah his black socks and his combat.
- 33:45Speaker 5: Boots this is a nice look oh wait no that's
- 33:49Speaker 5: his chest.
- 33:51Speaker 4: This is the cover of gq next month.
- 33:52Speaker 3: My mom's like oh stop it mowing the yard like
- 33:58Speaker 3: that so i think she hired somebody to mow our
- 34:01Speaker 3: yard now.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Just so he didn't have to look.
- 34:04Speaker 13: At him yeah exactly i don't know That's harsh.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Wow.
- 34:09Speaker 3: There's the blue jean shorts or the denim skirt with
- 34:12Speaker 3: the cowboy boots look.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Yep.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Modern country. Horrible.
- 34:17Speaker 10: Usually accompanied by either a wife beater or a halter
- 34:20Speaker 10: top or something kind of along the same lines.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Cowboy hat, optional.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Which, good, many of them had it.
- 34:26Speaker 3: But usually one beer in hand, sometimes two, and a
- 34:29Speaker 3: lot of, whoo! A lot of that.
- 34:32Speaker 4: We really need to stop modern country music.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Yes, please.
- 34:35Speaker 4: It's bringing down the whole world. I'm pretty sure. All
- 34:40Speaker 4: righty then.
- 34:40Speaker 3: That is the key to the apocalypse.
- 34:42Speaker 7: Yeah, it opens the seventh seal.
- 34:44Speaker 3: I believe it does. Yes, it does. It will bring
- 34:47Speaker 3: on the plague.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Kenny Chesney opened the seventh seal.
- 34:50Speaker 6: Kenny Chesney, come on, sir. Tailgating, doodle-bombing.
- 34:54Speaker 4: And then all these locusts came out. I don't know
- 34:56Speaker 4: what it was.
- 34:57Speaker 7: All these locusts came down.
- 34:59Speaker 6: I was like, dang, y'all, look at all this.
- 35:01Speaker 4: What's these frogs doing here?
- 35:03Speaker 5: What?
- 35:07Speaker 4: Oh, if only you could see the hand motions.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Wow.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Kind of like gang signs, but only a really.
- 35:12Speaker 7: Convoluted, redneckled version of gang signs.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Now you've got to have one elbow up in the
- 35:17Speaker 5: air like this and one elbow down like this and
- 35:18Speaker 5: you've got to shake your hand. Woo!
- 35:21Speaker 3: Point to your face in a Vogue-ish kind of way.
- 35:24Speaker 4: There's not enough Vogue-ing going on these days. Fuck all
- 35:27Speaker 4: this Kenny Chesney. We need more Vogue-ing.
- 35:29Speaker 9: No, we don't.
- 35:29Speaker 12: We really don't.
- 35:31Speaker 5: I should have a visual of me doing that while
- 35:33Speaker 5: wearing my Bo-delicious shirt.
- 35:34Speaker 4: Bo-delicious. We can get the camera up here, right?
- 35:37Speaker 6: It is pretty fucking wicked.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I should have.
- 35:40Speaker 6: Wore this when I saw him. He might have ran. Alright,
- 35:45Speaker 6: I'm done. That was a lot of talking for me.
- 35:47Speaker 6: I had to make up for the last week not
- 35:49Speaker 6: being here.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Alright, anything else we need to round out the Geek Week?
- 35:54Speaker 3: No.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Alright, we will take a break and be back with
- 35:57Speaker 4: What's the Bug? But so is his name in the.
- 36:01Speaker 5: Years to buy me.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Don't give a fuck about.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Fortune and fame.
- 36:05Speaker 9: Cause making bad movies is the name of the game.
- 36:07Speaker 9: Step one.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Step get about six million bucks.
- 36:10Speaker 2: To get some actors.
- 36:11Speaker 9: Who don't give a fuck.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Get some cameras.
- 36:14Speaker 5: HD and 35 milli.
- 36:15Speaker 3: You can always choose later.
- 36:16Speaker 9: So why be silly?
- 36:17Speaker 4: Got your green screen.
- 36:18Speaker 9: Air to frame.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Plastic spoons.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Johnny's so sexy.
- 36:21Speaker 4: He makes the girls swoon.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Lisa's so hot.
- 36:24Speaker 2: And Mark's his best friend. 25 sex scenes that seem
- 36:27Speaker 2: like they'll never end.

- 37:10Speaker 2: at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Listen.
- 37:13Speaker 12: Do you hear it?
- 37:13Speaker 8: It's getting closer.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Much closer. Don't be afraid.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Be very Very afraid.
- 37:34Speaker 7: I've got a.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Message for you.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Pray for death.
- 38:00Speaker 3: There will be blood.
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm Grey.
- 38:06Speaker 7: Take a journey with me through the dark side of
- 38:09Speaker 7: cinema in the Dark Hours Horror Podcast.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Find it at thedarkhours.net The Dark Hours.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Terror has no shape. Far beyond anything your mind could.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Ever conceive.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Hello, this is Sonny Landon, welcoming you to Movie Meltdown. Ah!
- 38:51Speaker 3: This is a chopper!
- 39:02Speaker 12: The room is in the house. The red dress looks
- 39:11Speaker 12: real good on Lisa, even though she's fat as shit.
- 39:19Speaker 3: The room is in the house. Jenny's in the movie,
- 39:23Speaker 3: but I don't know why.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Totally fucking irrelevant, just like the other guy. He's a
- 39:28Speaker 4: psychotherapist in his name.
- 39:20Speaker 3: All right, we're back with What's the Buzz? Groovy.
- 39:23Speaker 4: What's the buzz?
- 39:24Speaker 9: What is happening?
- 39:24Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 39:25Speaker 9: All righty.
- 39:49Speaker 4: So, two weeks ago, news broke that 20th Century Fox
- 39:53Speaker 4: search for the director of X-Men Origins Wolverine 2 had
- 39:57Speaker 4: narrowed down to either Robert Rodriguez. That would be awesome.
- 40:01Speaker 10: That would.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Hopefully he knows better. Robert Schwinn-Wetke. He did the red
- 40:09Speaker 4: that's coming out next month, which does actually look kind
- 40:11Speaker 4: of awesome. Or David Slade, who brought us Twilight Saga Eclipse.
- 40:16Speaker 6: Ah, fuck him.
- 40:18Speaker 4: But to salvage him 30 days of night as well.
- 40:21Speaker 7: Oh, awesome. 30 days of night was just.
- 40:22Speaker 6: How did he do both of those?
- 40:24Speaker 5: What?
- 40:24Speaker 4: How? That's why they brought him in. He knew he's vampires.
- 40:28Speaker 4: He knows all about.
- 40:29Speaker 6: Yeah, fucking hell, they don't fucking sparkle.
- 40:31Speaker 4: You'd think he would. It's a gateway. He doesn't care.
- 40:34Speaker 4: He went from a little no-budget horror movie to the
- 40:36Speaker 4: biggest grossing movie of the week. possibly the series of
- 40:40Speaker 4: all times. I mean, shit. That's why all these directors
- 40:43Speaker 4: keep coming on board for any of the Twilight shit.
- 40:46Speaker 7: It's a cash cow.
- 40:47Speaker 4: Well, and it gets your name up there into the,
- 40:49Speaker 4: you know, okay, now I've made a movie that opened at,
- 40:51Speaker 4: you know, $ 100 million. So that kind of gets you
- 40:54Speaker 4: some doors opened up, I'd say. Of course, it makes
- 40:57Speaker 4: us just laugh at you. But anyway, that's a whole
- 40:59Speaker 4: different thing.
- 41:00Speaker 6: Dude, seriously, fuck Twilight.
- 41:02Speaker 4: So yeah, they're saying the Shwetke guy was considered the
- 41:05Speaker 4: likely choice at the time, but now has apparently dropped out.
- 41:09Speaker 4: And another director has joined Slade in the running. And yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 4: this one is a surprise if you ask me. They
- 41:14Speaker 4: say Hugh Jackman recently talked to Darren Aronofsky about directing
- 41:19Speaker 4: the Wolverine sequel, which is strange to me. I mean,
- 41:24Speaker 4: how do you go to Requiem for a Dream for
- 41:26Speaker 4: Wolverine 2? Yeah, right?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know.
- 41:30Speaker 4: That's... Was he doing The Black Swan? Yeah, he just
- 41:34Speaker 4: did The Black Swan. It is... Actually, it premiered this
- 41:37Speaker 4: week in Venice, and the critics are kind of, like, really, yeah,
- 41:41Speaker 4: getting into it. So that could be a good sign
- 41:44Speaker 4: that he's once again put together another good movie, which
- 41:47Speaker 4: makes me wonder why is he even considering this? I mean,
- 41:52Speaker 4: he's not one... It's not like the other guys that,
- 41:54Speaker 4: you know, he needs this to put him up there
- 41:55Speaker 4: as a big-name director. I mean, he already is a
- 41:58Speaker 4: big-name director, so why... In a series that's gone this downhill,
- 42:02Speaker 4: these last.
- 42:03Speaker 7: Maybe he's a nerd. He just has always wanted to do.
- 42:06Speaker 3: He thinks he can save this creature.
- 42:09Speaker 7: He's got a vision.
- 42:10Speaker 4: They said he'd been trying to do... He was supposed
- 42:13Speaker 4: to do Batman Year One and it fell through. He
- 42:15Speaker 4: was still... I don't know if the Robocop reboot is
- 42:18Speaker 4: completely thrown out. He's got these super comic book kind
- 42:22Speaker 4: of ideas that he wants to do and they all
- 42:23Speaker 4: keep falling through. There's a reason they keep falling through.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Is this where it's going to end up? Is Wolverine 2?
- 42:28Speaker 4: Electric electric boogaloo the musical well hugh jackman is on
- 42:35Speaker 4: board it's gonna be dumb so i don't know it's
- 42:38Speaker 4: just a weird direction for him so yeah i don't
- 42:41Speaker 4: know if they're trying to redeem themselves since the last
- 42:44Speaker 4: wolverine went so bad that maybe they want to bring
- 42:47Speaker 4: in somebody like aronofsky but um at the same time
- 42:51Speaker 4: Are they going to let him do his thing? Because
- 42:53Speaker 4: he has a very specific vision when he goes into these.
- 42:56Speaker 4: And him working with big studios, I can't see. I'm
- 43:01Speaker 4: assuming they would want to be very controlling with a
- 43:02Speaker 4: property as big as Wolverine.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I could see them having issues there, too. I
- 43:09Speaker 4: don't know. I just thought that was weird.
- 43:11Speaker 7: I'm indifferent about the Wolverine.
- 43:14Speaker 6: I didn't see the last movie.
- 43:15Speaker 7: You missed nothing.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I haven't either.
- 43:17Speaker 6: I watched the X-Men movies. That was about it. I
- 43:19Speaker 6: don't remember the third one that well.
- 43:21Speaker 4: I don't remember it being awesome. It went downhill.
- 43:24Speaker 6: I don't remember everybody thinking it was good.
- 43:25Speaker 3: As they always do.
- 43:28Speaker 10: I kind of lost interest, the same thing with I
- 43:29Speaker 10: lost interest in Boba Fett and lost interest in Snake
- 43:32Speaker 10: Eyes when it all became super hit popular.
- 43:34Speaker 3: And everybody loves them.
- 43:36Speaker 10: I liked it better when they were just the kind
- 43:38Speaker 10: of obscure, down and dirty, gritty character.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Do I still like them? Yeah, I still like them,
- 43:42Speaker 3: but not as much.
- 43:43Speaker 7: Not as much as people nut over them.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 7: God, I wear t-shirts. It looks like Boba Fett. I'm
- 43:48Speaker 7: wearing his armor. It's like it's a t-shirt, dude.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:50Speaker 4: I've got that on right now.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 43:52Speaker 7: What are you trying to say?
- 43:54Speaker 4: I wear that every day.
- 43:55Speaker 7: I have a friend who has one actually.
- 43:59Speaker 4: All right, so the HBO miniseries The Pacific was nominated
- 44:03Speaker 4: for 23 Emmy Awards.
- 44:04Speaker 7: Sweet. Never heard of it.
- 44:06Speaker 4: And won eight of them this past week.
- 44:08Speaker 7: I never saw it. I want to see it. Apparently,
- 44:10Speaker 7: my friend said it was better than Band of Brothers.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Which Band of Brothers?
- 44:12Speaker 3: Really?
- 44:13Speaker 7: It was phenomenal.
- 44:14Speaker 10: See, I still haven't gotten around to watching that.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:16Speaker 4: That's pretty huge. I need to.
- 44:18Speaker 6: I'll put it on our.
- 44:19Speaker 5: List for you.
- 44:19Speaker 9: Really?
- 44:19Speaker 3: Band of Brothers?
- 44:20Speaker 12: Yes.
- 44:20Speaker 7: I can let you borrow it.
- 44:22Speaker 3: See, I've got more of a fan of the European
- 44:26Speaker 3: front than I.
- 44:26Speaker 7: Am of the Pacific Theater, which... I can see the
- 44:29Speaker 7: Pacific Theater being a lot more depressing because it was
- 44:32Speaker 7: just literally hell on earth for those guys. But more
- 44:36Speaker 7: of them I want to see.
- 44:38Speaker 4: So the day before all that happened, the news broke
- 44:41Speaker 4: that Warner Brothers, a corporate cousin to HBO... has picked
- 44:44Speaker 4: up a pitch from the Pacific co-executive producer for a
- 44:48Speaker 4: $ 200 million 3D action epic about the Battle of Midway.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Oh, God, I'm going to screw this up.
- 44:54Speaker 6: I told you about this.
- 44:55Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:55Speaker 7: It could be cool.
- 44:56Speaker 5: Because I had to ask you, what war was that in? Oh,
- 44:59Speaker 5: my God. Really?
- 45:00Speaker 7: I don't know if it.
- 45:02Speaker 6: Was World War I or II. I don't have all
- 45:03Speaker 6: that shit memorized.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I don't know what battle happened during what fucking war.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Most people don't.
- 45:09Speaker 3: It's either going to be really cool. and historically accurate.
- 45:11Speaker 7: I think it could be really cool.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Or it's going to be a complete and total flop.
- 45:15Speaker 3: It's going to suck balls.
- 45:17Speaker 7: It's going to be like Pearl fucking Harbor. It's going
- 45:18Speaker 7: to be like Pearl Harbor.
- 45:19Speaker 10: They're going to throw a bunch of fucking modern day
- 45:21Speaker 10: cliches and a bunch of fist pumps and stupid.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Shit in it.
- 45:25Speaker 6: If they do that.
- 45:29Speaker 10: They need to be castrated now if they're going to
- 45:31Speaker 10: do that. But if you're going to do that shit,
- 45:32Speaker 10: you better do it right and you better do it
- 45:34Speaker 10: enough to honor these guys.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 45:36Speaker 4: See, that's what I think. I mean, they, they used
- 45:38Speaker 4: to do so many of these movies that were big,
- 45:41Speaker 4: epic war movies and they were pretty cool and awesome.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Especially if you liked, you know, those battle oriented movies.
- 45:46Speaker 10: If it's one thing that I liked, it's, it's, it's
- 45:49Speaker 10: anything having to deal with World War II.
- 45:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 10: You know, I mean, I grew up, I mean, hell,
- 45:53Speaker 10: my grandfather and his brothers, they all had something to
- 45:57Speaker 10: do with World War II.
- 45:59Speaker 3: One was in the Navy. One was in the army.
- 46:00Speaker 3: The other one was in the Marines.
- 46:02Speaker 10: I mean, uh, Dad's friend was in the Navy and
- 46:05Speaker 10: the Air Force.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Simultaneous? Yeah, actually he did go to the.
- 46:09Speaker 10: Navy and then got out of the Navy and went
- 46:11Speaker 10: into the Air Force. A lot of these guys were
- 46:14Speaker 10: just really just awesome guys.
- 46:17Speaker 3: These kind of heroes that you don't have anymore.
- 46:21Speaker 4: And those were different wars that we don't even understand.
- 46:24Speaker 15: They were different wars because nowadays wars, you're fighting against
- 46:29Speaker 15: this thing yeah fighting against terrorism which can take any
- 46:32Speaker 15: shape in any form back then you were fighting against
- 46:34Speaker 15: the japanese and.
- 46:35Speaker 3: The germans yeah you knew who they are you knew
- 46:37Speaker 3: what they look like and you knew you're.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Gonna kill them and it was like a bigger thing
- 46:41Speaker 4: too like now it's it's like this muddled mess of
- 46:44Speaker 4: its money and its power and it's all this where
- 46:46Speaker 4: it was just evil man i mean world war ii
- 46:49Speaker 4: was good versus evil especially looking back at it now
- 46:52Speaker 4: we see that but even then everybody was kind of
- 46:54Speaker 4: like this is wrong and we have to stop it.
- 46:57Speaker 4: It's the last real war we had where we were like,
- 47:00Speaker 4: there's no, you know, gray area. It's cut and dry.
- 47:03Speaker 4: This has to be stopped. So, I mean, it was
- 47:05Speaker 4: a more innocent era because you had that. It's like,
- 47:09Speaker 4: we don't have that take now. All we have now
- 47:11Speaker 4: is like, this sucks. And, you know, our guys are
- 47:13Speaker 4: getting killed and everybody wants to argue about who's right
- 47:16Speaker 4: and who's wrong and where the funding's going and stupid
- 47:19Speaker 4: shit like that.
- 47:20Speaker 6: Whereas like, I'm too worried about killing civilians now. Back then,
- 47:22Speaker 6: we would.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Have just wiped all that shit out. Nuke them. That's
- 47:26Speaker 4: what I say.
- 47:27Speaker 5: Seriously, if this problem had happened 50 years ago, that
- 47:30Speaker 5: would have been the solution.
- 47:31Speaker 6: We would have been okay with it.
- 47:34Speaker 4: Take them out.
- 47:35Speaker 6: They've been done a long time ago.
- 47:38Speaker 7: I would like to see this movie. I would like
- 47:40Speaker 7: to see it. Take a cue from Battlefield 360. I
- 47:45Speaker 7: think it's on the History Channel or Military Channel. Or Dogfights,
- 47:49Speaker 7: which they did also for battleships and stuff. Them fighting, which.
- 47:54Speaker 11: If you did it in any way, shape, or form
- 47:56Speaker 11: like that, reenactments like.
- 47:57Speaker 7: That, then it would be badass. Because I'd love any
- 48:02Speaker 7: of those.
- 48:02Speaker 4: That's what I was thinking. I mean, they used to
- 48:04Speaker 4: do so many of those, and it's like they just
- 48:05Speaker 4: kind of stopped. I mean, granted, it's a new several
- 48:08Speaker 4: generations now that probably aren't into it the same level
- 48:11Speaker 4: they used to be. But, I mean, the closest thing
- 48:13Speaker 4: we had was Pearl Harbor, and that was crap. Absolutely.
- 48:16Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, it's like I would like.
- 48:19Speaker 7: What are you talking about?
- 48:21Speaker 6: That was awesome.
- 48:22Speaker 8: Jesus.
- 48:22Speaker 5: Kubo.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Michael Bay.
- 48:23Speaker 10: If anything, they really need to have a lot of
- 48:26Speaker 10: veterans sitting at, well, there's not a whole lot.
- 48:28Speaker 4: Yeah, they're running out at this point.
- 48:29Speaker 10: Which is sad, you know, because these are old guys
- 48:32Speaker 10: that I grew up with, you know, that were around
- 48:36Speaker 10: my friends' grandfathers and guys.
- 48:38Speaker 3: That hung around the garage, you know.
- 48:41Speaker 5: Jeez.
- 48:42Speaker 3: I mean, I guess that's why I'm so interested in
- 48:43Speaker 3: that time period. But, yeah, they really need to do
- 48:47Speaker 3: this right.
- 48:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I think would be cool.
- 48:51Speaker 6: But what are the chances of that happening?
- 48:52Speaker 3: Yeah, very slim.
- 48:54Speaker 7: Miracles can happen.
- 48:55Speaker 4: But, again, they're on board with HBO in some way, shape,
- 48:58Speaker 4: or form, which has, I mean, after Bands of Brothers,
- 49:00Speaker 4: they really did sort of put a lot of heart
- 49:04Speaker 4: into it and try to make it something legit. So
- 49:07Speaker 4: let's hope they go that route and not the Michael
- 49:09Speaker 4: Bay bullshit.
- 49:10Speaker 5: I don't think it's my fault that I didn't know
- 49:12Speaker 5: which war... Adal Midway was in. I'm not as interested
- 49:16Speaker 5: in that stuff.
- 49:16Speaker 3: It's not you.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Again, most people don't at this point.
- 49:19Speaker 6: I mean, I know it was in one of the
- 49:21Speaker 6: world wars.
- 49:22Speaker 3: That Vietnam.
- 49:24Speaker 6: The Crimean War.
- 49:26Speaker 7: That's the Ho Chi Minh.
- 49:27Speaker 4: So two of the most wanted and busiest actors in
- 49:30Speaker 4: Hollywood are, and they pretty much are, back and forth
- 49:33Speaker 4: who gets the next leading role, Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper.
- 49:36Speaker 13: Hmm.
- 49:37Speaker 4: So they are now attached to co-star together in an
- 49:39Speaker 4: untitled buddy cop action movie.
- 49:42Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 49:42Speaker 3: Another buddy cop.
- 49:43Speaker 6: I fucking hate buddy cop movies.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Wait a minute. Are these two white guys?
- 49:46Speaker 9: Yes.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Then it's not going to work.
- 49:48Speaker 6: And Wyrm's not a dog either.
- 49:50Speaker 7: You can't have two white.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Guys be a buddy cop movie. It's got to be
- 49:53Speaker 3: either one. It's got to be a black guy and
- 49:54Speaker 3: a white guy or a black guy and a Chinese
- 49:56Speaker 3: guy or a white guy and a Chinese guy.
- 49:58Speaker 5: Or a dog.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Or a dog.
- 50:00Speaker 7: Or a dog.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Or maybe a, I don't know, a fucking.
- 50:04Speaker 7: A macaw.
- 50:05Speaker 3: A Russian guy and a Mexican guy.
- 50:07Speaker 6: Or a chick.
- 50:08Speaker 5: Or a chick.
- 50:09Speaker 6: Wacky.
- 50:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Or a wacky Russian chick that's from Mexico. Then it'll work.
- 50:14Speaker 6: Hold on. Russian chick from Mexico?
- 50:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:16Speaker 9: What?
- 50:17Speaker 5: She moved.
- 50:19Speaker 3: She moved.
- 50:21Speaker 5: That's allowed.
- 50:22Speaker 3: What, like it's not possible?
- 50:24Speaker 6: Well, how did anybody move to Mexico?
- 50:26Speaker 3: Wow.
- 50:27Speaker 4: So they could cross the border. We'll get to that later.
- 50:30Speaker 4: The project got its start five years ago under the
- 50:32Speaker 4: title Blowback as a potential vehicle starring Dwayne, back then
- 50:36Speaker 4: The Rock, Johnson. And the story follows two friends who
- 50:40Speaker 4: are San Francisco cops whose fathers are also partners in
- 50:43Speaker 4: the department and who are forced out of retirement to
- 50:45Speaker 4: help their sons crack a particularly tough case. This sounds great.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 50:50Speaker 6: Wackiness sounds like it will try to ensue.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Yeah. There's no word on who will play their dads. So, darn.
- 50:58Speaker 7: I can't wait.
- 50:59Speaker 5: Shatner.
- 50:59Speaker 4: Let's go with Shatner. He's a dad now.
- 51:02Speaker 6: He's a dick.
- 51:04Speaker 4: I just like that that's how they're billing that new commercial.
- 51:07Speaker 4: It's like, but he can't handle fatherhood. So, picture him
- 51:10Speaker 4: as your dad.
- 51:11Speaker 3: As dicks go.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 5: That's what she said. But anyways, I mean, I love
- 51:20Speaker 5: him as a performer and everything. He's an actor, but
- 51:22Speaker 5: as a person, he seems kind of like an asshole.
- 51:24Speaker 6: Yeah, kind of. I still watch him. Shit, I don't care.
- 51:28Speaker 6: Funny as hell.
- 51:30Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know.
- 51:30Speaker 4: So, yeah, it says there's no director, so we don't
- 51:32Speaker 4: know anything else other than Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper.
- 51:36Speaker 5: God.
- 51:36Speaker 4: So, yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 5: I was kind of hoping Ryan Reynolds would have raised
- 51:39Speaker 5: above this already. He's actually making a career for himself.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Why would he stick back down to this level? I mean,
- 51:44Speaker 5: he was doing good.
- 51:45Speaker 4: I think that's still his audience, though. His audience is
- 51:50Speaker 4: people that liked him in the pizza place.
- 51:53Speaker 6: Two guys, a girl, and a pizza place. I love
- 51:55Speaker 6: that show, dude.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Dork. He's a dork for being in it.
- 51:59Speaker 6: Then he got changed to two guys and a girl,
- 52:01Speaker 6: and they dropped.
- 52:01Speaker 4: A pizza place. Yeah, because that just took up too
- 52:03Speaker 4: much of the bill. Yeah. Didn't want to take up.
- 52:06Speaker 6: Fucking long-ass name.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Take up the whole TV avenue.
- 52:08Speaker 7: People don't have the attention span to read that whole thing.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Not nowadays.
- 52:12Speaker 4: Just got to shorten it down.
- 52:13Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 52:14Speaker 6: He had his shirt off in Amityville Horror, though. That
- 52:16Speaker 6: was fucking awesome. He was ripped like Jesus.
- 52:20Speaker 4: All right, since we brought up The Rock.
- 52:24Speaker 4: So the news is that Dwayne Johnson is returning to
- 52:27Speaker 4: action movies, and people were all excited when it was
- 52:29Speaker 4: Faster and Fast Five, which I don't even think I
- 52:32Speaker 4: realized they were going to try to stick him in
- 52:33Speaker 4: Fast Five.
- 52:34Speaker 7: Oh, really?
- 52:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 52:36Speaker 4: The Rock and Fast Five.
- 52:38Speaker 3: What's Fast Five?
- 52:38Speaker 7: Next Fast and Furious.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Fast and Furious Part 11.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Oh, God. How many fucking Fast and Furious movies do
- 52:44Speaker 3: we need?
- 52:45Speaker 7: Five, obviously. Apparently.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Who fucking cares? It's the same thing. Fast guys with
- 52:50Speaker 3: fast cars. Woo.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Driving. Woo.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 52:53Speaker 4: But now one of them's Rock and he won't even
- 52:55Speaker 4: fit in them cars.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Oh, jeez.
- 52:58Speaker 4: Gonna crush the thing.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Quit making these dumb movies.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Well, no, it gets worse, really. So the fans were
- 53:06Speaker 4: excited because he was doing that kind of stuff and
- 53:08Speaker 4: trying to get away from silly kids' movies. Well, this week,
- 53:12Speaker 4: Dwayne has signed on with New Line Cinema to star
- 53:14Speaker 4: in Journey 2, The Mysterious Island. effectively replacing brendan frazier
- 53:20Speaker 4: which i'm all right.
- 53:21Speaker 5: With anybody replacing brendan frazier but if he could go
- 53:23Speaker 5: back and like retroactively replace him in every movie that's.
- 53:26Speaker 4: What i'm thinking could you replace him in the mummy
- 53:28Speaker 4: please do the mummy.
- 53:30Speaker 16: Films wouldn't he be going against himself yeah technically he
- 53:33Speaker 16: was in the second one so it's okay it's okay
- 53:36Speaker 16: i mean it was cgi half the time anyway so
- 53:38Speaker 16: he could fight himself okay i'm all for that so
- 53:40Speaker 16: mysterious island.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Yeah this one well it's um let's see where we
- 53:44Speaker 4: go yeah journey to mysterious island um although playing a
- 53:48Speaker 4: different character than brendan but yeah i'm fine with taking
- 53:50Speaker 4: brendan fraser.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Out of the equation the whole deal with this movie it's.
- 53:54Speaker 4: Like uh like journey to the center of the earth
- 53:56Speaker 4: this sequel is adapted and modernizing another novel from jules
- 54:00Speaker 4: verne the mysterious island So, yeah, it's basically they're now
- 54:05Speaker 4: saying that they influence for Lost, so they're trying to
- 54:08Speaker 4: probably tap into the fact that Lost is over with now, so...
- 54:11Speaker 4: When are they.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Going to do another Island of Dr.
- 54:14Speaker 5: Moreau?
- 54:15Speaker 3: Never.
- 54:15Speaker 7: Because that movie sucked.
- 54:16Speaker 4: You didn't like that last one.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 54:19Speaker 4: Who did?
- 54:20Speaker 3: When are they going to redo it?
- 54:21Speaker 6: Why are you wanting this?
- 54:24Speaker 3: I read the fucking story. The story's good. In my imagination.
- 54:28Speaker 6: In my imagination, yeah.
- 54:30Speaker 3: But see, that's the thing. They need to make a
- 54:31Speaker 3: good movie. Good movies.
- 54:33Speaker 4: Have you seen like the Universal? They did like an
- 54:37Speaker 4: Island of Lost Souls or something. There was one that
- 54:39Speaker 4: was kind of taken from the same story. It was
- 54:40Speaker 4: fairly decent, but.
- 54:44Speaker 3: No, I want a good one. I want a really
- 54:46Speaker 3: fucking good one. Not some half-assed, cheesy motherfucker. Well, give
- 54:50Speaker 3: me some fucking money and I will. I'll make you
- 54:52Speaker 3: a goddamn good fucking movie.
- 54:53Speaker 5: Who are you going to put in your movie?
- 54:55Speaker 3: Fuck, I don't know. I'll put some shit. The Rock.
- 54:57Speaker 7: I'll put some shit.
- 54:58Speaker 9: The Rock.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Fucking Rock.
- 54:59Speaker 4: Rock's going to turn into a big cat person.
- 55:01Speaker 7: Dog man.
- 55:02Speaker 5: Dog guy. Fucking Rock.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Dog rock.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 55:09Speaker 6: The Rockbiter? No.
- 55:10Speaker 4: The Rock is The Rockbiter. I'm afraid if they tried
- 55:18Speaker 4: to do another Island of Dr. Moreau at this point,
- 55:21Speaker 4: since their go-to is CGI, you would just have nothing
- 55:26Speaker 4: but CGI cats and dogs.
- 55:27Speaker 3: No, there would be no CGI in my movie.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's why I'm afraid for
- 55:31Speaker 4: them to ever do another one.
- 55:32Speaker 3: People in cat costumes.
- 55:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 7: Yeah, right.
- 55:35Speaker 3: It would be like the Kiss of Cats.
- 55:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I was thinking it. Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Island
- 55:39Speaker 4: of Dr. Moreau.
- 55:40Speaker 5: Mr.
- 55:41Speaker 7: Mistoffelees.
- 55:42Speaker 6: Oh, memories.
- 55:44Speaker 4: No, it won't be like that.
- 55:46Speaker 7: Oh, shit.
- 55:47Speaker 3: But no, there would be no CGI.
- 55:48Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 55:49Speaker 3: It would be a kickback to the good old movies.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Little tiny models. Oh, nice. Stop motion animation.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Stop motion cats and dogs.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 55:58Speaker 4: Speaking of which.
- 55:59Speaker 10: I want an epic Indiana Jones adventure-esque type fucking deal.
- 56:03Speaker 4: See, and if they did that with The Rock, I'd
- 56:04Speaker 4: be okay, actually. Again, I don't complain about him as
- 56:08Speaker 4: a leading man. I like him, and I think... Oh,
- 56:10Speaker 4: he's good.
- 56:10Speaker 3: He's quirky.
- 56:11Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got a good sense of humor, but yet
- 56:14Speaker 4: he can play the action stuff, too. So I don't
- 56:16Speaker 4: have a problem with him. I have a problem in
- 56:18Speaker 4: the crap they keep sticking him in. And the fact
- 56:20Speaker 4: that he keeps going along with it, it's like he...
- 56:23Speaker 4: That's one of the main offenders in this, yeah. So
- 56:27Speaker 4: that's one of the main things I'm worried about in
- 56:29Speaker 4: this is like, He was sort of getting away from that. So,
- 56:32Speaker 4: you know, if he could leave the Tooth Fairy behind,
- 56:35Speaker 4: he might be okay.
- 56:36Speaker 3: See, this is going to destroy him.
- 56:37Speaker 4: This is backsliding.
- 56:38Speaker 3: This is the shit that destroyed Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yep.
- 56:41Speaker 4: And Vin Diesel.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Fucking badass.
- 56:44Speaker 10: And he kicked people's asses and shot people and took
- 56:47Speaker 10: names and shit like that.
- 56:49Speaker 4: And it's not a tumor came along.
- 56:51Speaker 3: It's not a tumor. And Junior.
- 56:53Speaker 7: And everything changed. And Twins.
- 56:55Speaker 4: I like Twins.
- 56:56Speaker 3: What the fuck?
- 56:56Speaker 4: Come on, man. Twins was early on, though. He skated
- 57:01Speaker 4: by with Twins.
- 57:02Speaker 10: But everybody's like, oh, we've got to make these action
- 57:05Speaker 10: stars seem quirky so that everybody's moms will go see them.
- 57:08Speaker 4: And then you get Stop or My Mom Will Shoot,
- 57:10Speaker 4: which took down another one.
- 57:11Speaker 3: Exactly. There went Stallone.
- 57:13Speaker 4: Yep.
- 57:14Speaker 3: What the fuck? It's the pussification of America. stop it
- 57:18Speaker 3: stop killing my action.
- 57:20Speaker 11: Guys it does suck it's like they don't have a
- 57:22Speaker 11: place anymore no like really.
- 57:24Speaker 4: They really kind of don't that's why it's weird that
- 57:27Speaker 4: we you know fell back into these last couple of
- 57:29Speaker 4: weeks of cool movies again because.
- 57:31Speaker 10: Spendables but still it's too late for some of these
- 57:34Speaker 10: guys yeah you know i mean granted that.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Maybe jet lee didn't do a buddy cop film uh did.
- 57:39Speaker 4: He He's in Lethal Weapon, doesn't that count?
- 57:42Speaker 2: No.
- 57:42Speaker 7: He was the bad guy in Lethal Weapon, though.
- 57:44Speaker 4: But he was in a buddy cop movie.
- 57:47Speaker 10: I don't think Jason Statham never fell into that category.
- 57:50Speaker 4: Yeah, when's the romantic comedies with him kicking off?
- 57:54Speaker 3: But, you know.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Katherine Heigl and Jason Statham.
- 57:57Speaker 13: Oh, fuck her.
- 57:58Speaker 6: Stupid names.
- 58:00Speaker 3: God, I hate her.
- 58:02Speaker 4: He'll be the new boy.
- 58:03Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 58:04Speaker 3: They kill off our action stars. They kill them off.
- 58:07Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. How long till they try to
- 58:08Speaker 3: stick Danny Trejo in a fucking movie? Danny, do not
- 58:11Speaker 3: do it. Please don't do it. For the love of God.
- 58:13Speaker 6: Just say no, little bonkhead.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Don't do it. So, yeah, I think from Barack standards,
- 58:19Speaker 4: this is like moving backwards for him. Or worse, it's
- 58:22Speaker 4: falling into the footsteps of Brendan Fraser, who completely killed
- 58:26Speaker 4: his career doing that kind of shit. He's doing, you know,
- 58:29Speaker 4: Crazy Animal. What the fuck was that thing called?
- 58:31Speaker 6: He's had a fucking shitty career in the first place.
- 58:32Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 58:33Speaker 6: Because I hate Brendan Fraser and his stupid face.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Encino Man was great, but after that, it went all downhill.
- 58:38Speaker 9: Yes, it did.
- 58:39Speaker 4: Because he's terrible.
- 58:40Speaker 5: He is.
- 58:41Speaker 3: God.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Punch him in his face.
- 58:43Speaker 3: I don't want to like him.
- 58:44Speaker 9: No, I don't.
- 58:45Speaker 4: You don't want to like him.
- 58:46Speaker 5: I don't want to like him at all. You all
- 58:47Speaker 5: made me fucking watch that movie in Chicago. God, I
- 58:50Speaker 5: was pissed.
- 58:50Speaker 4: What was this?
- 58:51Speaker 8: The Mummy.
- 58:52Speaker 7: The Mummy.
- 58:52Speaker 6: They made me watch The Mummy in Chicago.
- 58:54Speaker 4: Was this last?
- 58:54Speaker 6: When I was asleep?
- 58:55Speaker 7: It was The Mummy 3.
- 58:56Speaker 4: Thank God I was asleep. You were asleep.
- 58:58Speaker 3: Me and Johnny were staying up and watching it and
- 58:59Speaker 3: making fun of it. See, I like The Mummy. You
- 59:01Speaker 3: were asleep. I saw some of it.
- 59:02Speaker 7: You saw some of it.
- 59:03Speaker 3: We were sitting there making fun of it the whole time.
- 59:05Speaker 4: I mean, I was like, the idea of The Mummy,
- 59:07Speaker 4: I hated that he was in it.
- 59:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:09Speaker 4: I was like, i wish they would have taken better
- 59:11Speaker 4: writers and a better crew you know crew of people
- 59:14Speaker 4: and actually made get rid of but i didn't like
- 59:17Speaker 4: that chick either and i was like he replaced both
- 59:19Speaker 4: of them get some better writing in there and it
- 59:21Speaker 4: would have been you know it wanted to be a
- 59:22Speaker 4: knockoff indiana jones anyway So just make it, you know,
- 59:25Speaker 4: a full-on cool action-adventure movie and not stupid. You know
- 59:28Speaker 4: how many Indiana.
- 59:29Speaker 3: Jones knockoffs came out during Indiana Jones? A lot.
- 59:32Speaker 7: Alan Quatermain and the last.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Of the Sullivan's gold mines.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Of such and such.
- 59:37Speaker 3: There was fucking tons of them.
- 59:39Speaker 10: Yep.
- 59:39Speaker 3: There was Romancing the Stone. There was all types of
- 59:42Speaker 3: those things.
- 59:43Speaker 4: They were all tapping in and we went for a
- 59:45Speaker 4: long time and didn't have that. And that's why mummy
- 59:47Speaker 4: felt like it was that return to that. They were
- 59:49Speaker 4: trying to get back into that, but they put Brendan
- 59:51Speaker 4: Fraser in the middle of it. And the writing was
- 59:53Speaker 4: so stupid that I was just like, you've got a
- 59:56Speaker 4: good budget it's like why not do something useful with
- 59:59Speaker 4: this and not just make another dumb movie it's like
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: they had kind of cool special effects at the time
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: now they look dated very quickly but that was you
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: know one of the first big cgi movies that they made.
- 1:00:10Speaker 10: Use of and i love egypt stuff egyptology yeah anything
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: having to do with fucking mummies and pyramids.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: Oh, that's the hottest porn ever. Fucking mommies.
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: It's hot.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: Actually, I think there is a porn for it.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: But anyway.
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: Mommies unwrapped.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: Yeah, when you're going at it and your leg breaks off.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: That is so hot. Anyway.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: This is just, yeah, for him, this is moving backwards.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: And they're saying that the other downside of this is the,
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: let's see. The creative people involved are best known for
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: the sequel of the Cats and Dogs, The Revenge of
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: Kitty Galore.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Oh, good God. You know it's going to suck.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: So, yeah. This is what I'm saying.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: I'm going to watch this shit, too, because I got
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: a kid.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: This is right up there with Tooth Fairy. I mean,
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: it's that kind of stupid writing.
- 1:01:01Speaker 12: So, yes.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: It's written for, like, four-year-olds.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: And even four-year-olds are smarter than that these days. So
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: stop playing down to them. Yeah.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Quit it.
- 1:01:10Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: So please, Dwayne, get the hell.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Out of these movies.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:01:14Speaker 12: Eject, eject.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: I know there's one sequel I'm ready for, whether it's
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: going to suck or not.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: They're working on the fifth Final.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: Destination movie, and they have the big tragedies already revealed
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: as to what their big catastrophe.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Is going to be.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: What kills them all.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: Suspension bridge. I'm still waiting for the boat, though. The
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: boat's going to be awesome whenever the boat happens.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: When did the boat get rolled out?
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: That was supposed to be for the third one.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: Yeah. It was supposed to be the third or fourth
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: one was supposed to be the boat, but now that's
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: not going to happen.
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: But, yeah, next one's supposed to be Suspension Bridge. So
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: I'm waiting for it. It's going to be in 3D,
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: I'm hoping. I'm sure. Because you know those cables are
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: going to be snapping at your ass.
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: I mean, they made so much money on the last one,
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: and it was retarded, too. So, I mean, how could
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: they not cash in on more 3D?
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: Because as bad as they are, I always look forward
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: to the Final Destination movies.
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: They're fun.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: They're fun.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Horrible they're terrible yeah but they're fun.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: I love fun bad movies i hate bad bad movies
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: but i love fun bad movies and these are so
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: fucking fun the first one was legitimately awesome the first.
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: One was actually awesome i actually have respect.
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: For the first movie the first one was trying to
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: do something different than the other ones and it.
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: Did it fairly well yeah And then the second one
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: comes along and it's like, eh, we're getting a little
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: bit more jokey with ourselves.
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: That's the third one.
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: Third one, it's just like out the window.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: Yeah, the second one's pretty damn jokey as it is.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: But still, they're fun. And I like a movie that
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: doesn't take itself too fucking seriously when it's that kind
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: of movie.
- 1:02:35Speaker 10: Yep.
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: I love them. I don't care. I'll watch Final Destination 18.
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: I don't care.
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: That's what I'm wondering is when they quit making tons
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: of money at the box office, which it's sad that
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: they still do. if they're going to hit the like
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: direct to DVD, if there really is going to be
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: like part seven. Yeah. The final destinations, whatever.
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: I was going to say, as long as they still have, um, Saw.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Saw.
- 1:02:59Speaker 10: As long as they keep making Saw movies and people
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: keep seeing them, I think Final Destination is quite safe.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: I think they're pretending like this is the end, isn't it?
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: I don't believe them. I mean, yeah, The Final Destination
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: was the end, too, but here we are at number five.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: See, that's the thing. I'm happy about this. Usually sequels,
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: I'm like, dude, fuck a sequel. Final Destination, you just.
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: Keep on bringing it. You bring it. I want to
- 1:03:24Speaker 6: see Bloodscore.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: I want to see ridiculous Beyond Belief deaths.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: They're fun.
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: I'm okay.
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: Well, speaking of Beyond Belief, M. Night Shyamalan. So whatever
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: the majority of M. Night Shyamalan film, whatever you think
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: of the majority of M. Night Shyamalan's films, the movie
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: that is often singled out as being his best, most
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: narratively successful, at least definitely since that first one, would
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: be Unbreakable. That's actually a cool movie and was really
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: trying to do something different. They're citing it as sort
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: of taking a different look at superhero genre before heroes
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: and Hancock and kick-ass and all these that try to
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: sort of play on that same thing. This was doing
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: it well before that. So that's, you know, that was
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: kind of cool and different at the time. Well, now
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: it said that, uh, or originally they'd said at the time,
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: M if you will, had envisioned.
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: Stand for.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Mill house.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: Monkey.
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: I don't really know. He might've made it up. Who knows?
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: So Emma envisioned that Unbreakable was the first of a
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: trilogy following Willis' character. And for the last nine years,
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: fans have been like, dude, where's part two? And quit
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: making this other crap. So instead, he's been making, you know,
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: The Happening and Last Airbender and not giving us, you know,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: the only thing that he did that was kind of cool.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: I wish Willis was going to be too old for
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: any of these movies.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: So now, yeah, once again, he's gotten away from that
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: idea and he started producing The Night Chronicles. which he's
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: basically giving these story ideas to new directors and seeing
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: what they do with them since he can't do anything anymore.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: Since he can't do shit with them. So the first
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: of which I guess he is kicking off because the
- 1:05:11Speaker 4: devil is part of the Night Chronicles now. So now
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: they're saying it is revealed that he's actually taking the
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: villain and the idea for what would have been Unbreakable
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: 2 and rewritten it instead into the third Night Chronicles movie. Okay.
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: The Night Chronicles movie will be called 12 Strangers and
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: is about a jury dealing with a case involving the supernatural. M.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: Night went on to say that originally this villain was
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: supposed to be an unbreakable, but he removed the character
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: to avoid having too many villains in one movie like
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: Batman and X-Men and basically like every freaking superhero movie does. So,
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: I don't know. To me, it's like... let's take what
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: probably could have been a good followup movie and destroy it.
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: And rip it up into pieces and then make a
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: bunch of crappy little movies that you're going to give
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: to other directors anyway.
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: He's just greatly overrated and just needs to stop.
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: He's lost his damn mind is what he's done. So
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I don't know. I just thought that was weird that
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: he's taking his idea, breaking it up into pieces and
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: now handing it out to other, yeah, other up and
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: coming directors that are probably going to completely eclipse them.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Yeah. Whatever.
- 1:06:18Speaker 13: Nutty.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: Makes no sense to me.
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: I like my story better.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Which one of yours?
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: Oh, I was just talking about the story of Final Destination.
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: My buzz was better than your buzz. Fucking much, I mean.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Alright, well, let's go out with yours then.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: Are you good, man?
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: Do another one. No. Come on, you're loaded up with
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: good buzz. Let's go. No, I'm good.
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: I've used up all my good buzz.
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: All my buzz is gone.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: Slacker ass slacker.
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: I am a slacker ass slacker.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Here's my buzz.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: Uh-oh.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: Fucking hell, what's the name of that damn movie? God,
- 1:06:56Speaker 10: I hate it when I go blank because it's really
- 1:06:58Speaker 10: not a lot of shit going on in my brain.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: Give me something to go on.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Space Nazis.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: Scott.
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: Iron Scott.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Iron Scott. Thank you. Thank you. Iron Scott. Yay! When
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: the hell is that coming out? I'm tired of waiting
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: for it.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: Never, because nobody will finance it.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Oh, come on. Bastard. How can nobody finance Space Nazis?
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: Because it's a comedy.
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: The fuck? It's a romantic comedy.
- 1:07:22Speaker 9: Yes, it is.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no Katherine Heigl in it.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: What is your deal with Katherine Heigl?
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: She's in every god-awful movie they make now.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: God, I hate her.
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: She's a bitch.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: Have you not seen every new trailer that comes out?
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: If it's even close to a romantic comedy, damn if
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: they haven't jammed her in there.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: They'll make this movie, damn it.
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: They'll make Space Nazis because they're going to go outside
- 1:07:43Speaker 10: of Hollywood.
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: Fuck Hollywood.
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: Fuck Hollywood. Because Hollywood doesn't want to make it. They
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: want to see the films they want to see, which
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: is stupid, idiotic films.
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: With Katherine Heigl.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: With Katherine Heigl. I want to fucking see Space Nazis.
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: You're all worked up today, sir.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: I do.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: I want to see Space Nazis.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: You are just all kinds of.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: I want to see us kicking Space Nazi ass.
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: You've got fire in your pants today, sir.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: They do need to go outside of the system. If anything,
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: we learned from Kick-Ass. They were unconventional and they went, okay,
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: fuck this. They went to independent people and went, back
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: our movie.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: I'm tired of this fucking bullshit.
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: Fucking make the same old fucking goddamn shit all the time.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I'm fucking tired of it. I want to see some
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: new fucking movies.
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: Did you not get enough caffeine today?
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: I got plenty of caffeine.
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: Maybe that's the problem.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: A little too much.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08:29Speaker 14: Get the hell out of me.
- 1:08:33Speaker 10: I was doing research on Nazi occultism last night, so that's.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Probably what got me wound up about it. It's all jazz.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: I just, that and World War II movies and And
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: what we're talking about as far as like having an
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: actual evil to fight against.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: We don't have that anymore. Who the fuck's evil? You
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: No.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: You don't know.
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: Just individuals.
- 1:08:53Speaker 10: Yeah, just individuals like, oh, the Islam extremists are evil.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: But then you've got other Muslims that aren't evil, but
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: they're just Muslims. And you're like, what the hell, man?
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Who the fuck's evil?
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: We've got plenty of evil people in this country, too.
- 1:09:05Speaker 10: But they're not together as one big force of fucking
- 1:09:11Speaker 10: evil walking across the earth ready to take over and
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: kill it.
- 1:09:14Speaker 12: Everybody.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: They don't care.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: You don't have that anymore.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: No, you don't.
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: That's not how warfare happens.
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: You're too worried about offending everybody.
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: Now you can't have one enemy without worrying about offending somebody.
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: Well, everybody's got to look into the backstory of the enemy.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: Why are they the enemy?
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: Why are the Nazis bad?
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Why are the Nazis bad?
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Who fucking cares?
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: They're evil.
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: Let's do that. Let's look into it.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: They're space Nazis. They're coming to get us.
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: They're coming to get you.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: They're going to take over the world.
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: Let's have a nice look back at Hitler and see
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: what made him such a wacky guy.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Nobody bought his artwork that's.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: The problem see if you guys would have just given
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: him like 40 bucks for some sort of crappy artwork
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: and we would have not had world war.
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: Ii i still can't find that fucking shirt what apparently
- 1:10:03Speaker 8: there's a t-shirt it's got a picture of hitler with
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: a kitten and says think about all the good things
- 1:10:07Speaker 8: hitler did.
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: That's awesome.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: It's just offensive.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: In our usual PC mode, that's awesome.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: I love things that are offensive.
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: Well, you love me.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: I don't care. I don't get offended about things.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: I think we're all quite.
- 1:10:23Speaker 10: I've had people say all kinds of shit to me
- 1:10:26Speaker 10: about all kinds of things, and I don't get offended
- 1:10:28Speaker 10: by it because it's just whatever.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: I'm pretty hard to offend.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I'm all like, yeah, whatever, man, you know.
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: That's just why I say adorable, horrible things. I assume
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: everybody else is too. Then I learn the hard way.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: Oh, sorry.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: All right. I think on that note, we should round
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: out the first half of the show.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: I can't breathe. Let's round it out.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: So we will wrap things up here and invite you
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: to come back and join us as we head out
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: on the town this week. Leave out of the bright
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: sunlight and go out into the world. It's kind of scary, so.
- 1:11:02Speaker 6: Am I going to have to be near people?
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: Well, at least the temperature will be mild. No, because
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: it's Sunday.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: Unless I'm going to sit next to you.
- 1:11:09Speaker 10: Yeah, and it's early showing, which means there will probably
- 1:11:11Speaker 10: be only a handful of people in the theater.
- 1:11:14Speaker 6: No drunken people throwing glass bottles?
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: No, that's late.
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: Breaking shit.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: All the, you know, grandmas going out to see Machete.
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: Good lord, I got to, never mind.

- 1:11:40Speaker 9: a knife.

- 1:11:44Speaker 9: See, I'm a little concerned, for I recently learned of
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: the swastika.
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: Tattoo on your head.
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: And it makes you smile when you hear Zeke Heil.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: You love the smell of.
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: A burning cross in the yard.
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: Do goose-step salutes in your Doc Martin boots And you

- 1:13:10Speaker 9: And it makes me irate when you say I look
- 1:13:12Speaker 9: great when I wear a little tiny mustache. Your social
- 1:13:17Speaker 9: politics say that races don't mix and you.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Call it pure blood pollution.
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: And whenever I'm sad, you say it's not so bad.
