Transcript
- 0:01Randy Black: It is November
- 0:032025,
- 0:04and that means we've entered into NAPOD POMO. That is national podcast
- 0:09post month. The goal is to post a podcast
- 0:13every day for all thirty days of the month of November.
- 0:18It's something that I've not taken part in before, but I decided that I wanted to try it this year. So this year, I'm gonna try to post a podcast episode every single day of the month and get those out there. Just a little quick history. Jennifer Navarrette,
- 0:33I believe is how you pronounce her last name. She's the one who created this whole concept back in 2007,
- 0:39and there were 50 different podcasters
- 0:42that took part
- 0:43in napod promo, national podcast post month back then.
- 0:48It's still going strong today. Friend of mine, Mike Dell. Shout out to Mike Dell's World. Great podcast when he does it. He he
- 0:56is taking part in napod promo and trying to post episodes
- 0:59every day this month. He actually has a theme going on with his. So head over to mikedale.com
- 1:04or look up Mike Dale's World in your podcast app, and you'll be able to find that and check out what Mike's doing. Also, if you wanna get into podcasting, Mike works at Blueberry. Blueberry is an awesome company. They even do a a free plugin for WordPress called PowerPress
- 1:18that you can use to do your podcast. That's how I do my podcasts, but I wanted to shout out Mike and what he's doing there.
- 1:25But this is Napod Pomo. I'm gonna try to put an episode out every single day this month. Wanna try to talk about content that I've talked about on my blog and some other places.
- 1:35I'm even gonna talk about, Pod Indy, which is coming up on 11/08/2025.
- 1:40I'm heading over from here in beautiful
- 1:44rural Milton, West Virginia, just outside of the town of Milton.
- 1:47I'm heading over on the 7th that direction toward Indianapolis, Indiana, just south of there in Whiteland. I'll be there for, Pod Indy on Saturday taking part in that event, that Brad Miller has started and is arranging
- 2:01and putting together. Doctor. Brad Miller, he's awesome. Cancer and comedy, great podcast,
- 2:06looking at how humor and laughter is a healing,
- 2:10mechanism for the human body and and the way things do and to get through things in life,
- 2:15and to get through cancer. And that's why Brad started the show. He was getting through cancer himself.
- 2:20So
- 2:21I'll be heading over there, taking part actually taking part in a panel over there. I was asked to take part in. It's my first podcasting event I've ever gone to,
- 2:29in the almost decade I've been in podcasting,
- 2:32so I'm excited for that. I'm excited to be on that panel as Brad invited me with a couple other people and take part in it. So I'm looking extremely looking forward to it and and so happy to go. And I'll have some stuff from over there that I'll I'll include in an episode talking about
- 2:49what's going on, in in this whole month for Napod Pomo.
- 2:53Also, it also gives me a chance to to go and meet someone who I've I've considered a friend for some time, but never gotten the chance to meet him in person, and that's Dave Jackson. You may know Dave Jackson from the school of podcasting
- 3:04or from some of the funny things he's done in the past like this. Binky, you're so crazy. Binky, you're so crazy.
- 3:10That's Dave Jackson. Dave is awesome.
- 3:13But napod promo, I'm gonna get episodes out every single day this month. That's the goal. And to build up this new show,
- 3:20Randy unscripted, hosted @RandallBlack.comslashunscripted.
- 3:24There is an episode there where I talk about my dear friend,
- 3:27Jimmy Clayton. Bam, son. We lost Jimmy back in September. He was my cohost on shooting it straight.
- 3:33The first episode of this show actually of me
- 3:36my reaction to that the night,
- 3:39after he had passed away. So,
- 3:41stay tuned. Randy Unscripted's gonna keep putting some episodes out this month for Napod Pomo. Hopefully, you're a podcaster and you wanna be involved in it. There's also the national novel writing month apparently going on where people are trying to put out something every thirty days throughout the month. So,
- 3:58it's the same idea,
- 4:00but in podcasting, we're trying to put our episodes out. So,
- 4:04you know, be excited for podcasting.
- 4:07Podcasting is a medium that despite what YouTube will tell you and despite what Spotify will tell you, is still decentralized
- 4:15and is still powerful,
- 4:16and everyone needs to embrace that if you are a podcaster.
- 4:21Stay on that independent level. If you make make it and be successful, great for you. But the goal of podcasting is to be independent, to be decentralized,
- 4:30and to not
- 4:31let those big companies control
- 4:34what we put out there. So please pay attention to that. Also,
- 4:38get episodes out. That's the key.
- 4:40This is my first episode for the month. We'll get into some topics throughout the month as we go through. I'm working on ideas, getting things together, but just keep an eye out for something every day from Randy on Randy unscripted. And I'm Randy, Randy Black, randallblack.com.
- 4:53Randallblack.com/unscripted
- 4:55is the page for the podcast. Thank you for listening. Keep it in tune, and I will talk to everyone later. Thank you.
