- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Ever wondered how can I create more freedom and reduce stress in my business?
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: As a speaker and best-selling author, Carrie Ascension has spent 20-plus years guiding super achievers around the world to increase profitability and go after dreams.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Blending her experience as a VP of human resources with years as a business coach and powerful intuitive skills, Carrie guides business owners to uncover five to six figures in hidden revenues so they get back to their life goals.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: When not coaching or facilitating groups, Carrie enjoys walks along Santa Cruz beaches and redwoods.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: She and her husband also enjoy sailing and visiting family and friends.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love visiting with my family and friends.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: You live in Santa Cruz.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I've never been.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Well, I've only been to a few places in California, but it sounds beautiful.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: It's gorgeous.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: We're a short walk to the beach and the harbor and also a short walk up the road to the Redwoods.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: So it's a really unique area along the coast of the central coast of California.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, it just sounds beautiful.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I've heard people talking about it a lot lately.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: You know, it's funny.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's my call to go visit.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: I'm not really sure.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: I was listening to one of your...
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: I saw that you actually met with Julianne last week.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: She's also here on the Central Coast.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, and, yeah, it's funny.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: What a small world we live in.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Truly, truly.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Like, seriously.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Okay, so you create more freedom and reduce stress in my business.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: Tell me how I can do that.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, my goodness.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, it starts with taking a deep breath.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Let's do that together.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: I find that often what we're doing is that we're in front of ourselves or we're thinking about what's happened in the past, but when we are actually totally present to this moment, then we're able to be present to ourselves and to our clients.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: That's just one of the things in which I do, but I also help with strategies to begin to focus women on what's really, how to share their genius with the world.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I call it an embodied presence.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: So basically, it's the same secret that we tell everyone when they're trying to, you know, conquer something, right?
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: Any kind of challenge.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: It's like you just need to be present and, you know, sort of focus on that one thing for, you know, whatever amount of time you need.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's interesting that you said that.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: And what I find is that an overwhelming number of women that I'm speaking to are actually struggling with that focus.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: And it might be because they're caregivers, you know, they have children, or maybe that's part of that sandwich generation where they're caring for their elder parents.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: But it's really difficult, I think, for women in particular to find that area of focus.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: to be able to share their genius.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So I basically ask them to come back to why did they get into the business in the first place?
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: And then let's give them strategies that they can begin to hang their hat, to focus their attention, so that they can have a profitable business.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: So they can basically, I like to say, follow your purpose, your passion, and your profitability.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: I know there's lots of...
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: people in the world, and I don't want to just say women, but there's lots of people that are really not following their passion, right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: They went to university believing that they wanted to do what they're going to school to do.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: And then years later, they're realizing, I've never, like, this is not my thing, right?
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: And so I know women, like, more my age, when they realize that, and it's usually after they, you know, kind of raised their family and went through the hard part of life, They go, I want to do something that I actually enjoy, right?
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: And so that's where you come in and you say, okay, let's do what you enjoy and, you know, I'm going to teach you how to be more present, more focused so that you can make it, I guess, not necessarily, like do you work more like towards let's make you money or is it more about just doing what you want to be doing?
- 5:04SPEAKER_02: I actually bridge the two.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: So I feel that first we have to come from, I'll call it the frequency or the vibration of passion and really being in alignment with what we love to do.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: So I can actually, I'm an intuitive as well, so I can actually sense if there is a blockage in what's going on.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: The other day I was talking to somebody and I was on the telephone, so I don't have to actually be in somebody's presence in order to see this.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: But I was like, what's going on with your throat chakra?
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: What's going on?
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: You know, there's a disconnect between your heart and your head.
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: And she chuckled and she goes, how do you know this?
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: She goes, yes, there is.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: So it's primarily a focus more recently about profitability because what I realized is that when people are truly in alignment with their genius and they're able to use certain strategies to I call it strategies that I wasn't taught in school.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: I wasn't taught when I went to coaching school that they can then rest into knowing that they're in their genius, basically.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: So,
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: yeah, I've been focusing more on the profitability piece most recently because I began to realize unless we focus on that piece, people are going to be in the, I'll call it the hustle or the hamster wheel, right?
- 6:33UNKNOWN: Right.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which makes sense, right?
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: And I mean, I think, I mean, I don't know.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Like you said, women have a hard time focusing, right?
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: And that's because they often have, you know, they wear many hats at one time, right?
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: And I think men are able, and this is what I've seen in my life, men are able to like walk out of the house and be in work mode, right?
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: They're, you know, obviously you can phone them and, you know, there's an emergency, there's this, there's that.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: But I mean, they're able to go to work and focus just on work.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: You know, now I'm in my work clothes.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: And women can't seem to do that.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: Women are like, okay, yes, I'm dressed for work, but half the time, you know, our minds are on what we, you know, could be doing at home or should be doing at home or, you know, what our kids are doing and, oh, I have to remember to do this and I have to remember to do that.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: And I find, like, especially with my husband, like he writes it down so that he doesn't forget.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: But when he's at work, he's at work.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: I don't think we're like that.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: You brought up something.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: that really stood out for me, Tina, when you talked about, I call it shoulding on ourselves, you know, that we should be doing more.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: We should know how to do this or we should, yeah, we should be doing more.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: And it's hard to be two places at once.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: So I think that's what you're pointing to is that, and you just think about it, the frequency of shoulding on ourselves, like feeling that we're bad or we're wrong, you know, and that we're not doing it well enough.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: is really detrimental to us being in our vibrancy, being able to be of service, I would say, to our clients, to ourselves, and to our communities.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: It is detrimental, right?
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: I'm learning that I'm not shitting on myself anymore, right?
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I can only do so much, right?
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: And if I can't get to it, I can't get to it.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: I'll do it when I can.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: That makes me curious.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: What do you tell yourself to keep yourself out of the shitting line?
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: I'm not hard on myself anymore.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Like now I'm like, you know what, you can only do so much.
- 8:55SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: And so I'm suffering right now actually with frozen shoulder.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: And so I am physically not able to do what I want to be doing.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: And when I say want to be doing, that's like, you know, the everyday cleaning of my house.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: I can only do so much.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: So I tell myself, like, if you could, you would.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: But it's not a matter of, you know, you should be doing it.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Because I...
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: I should be doing it, yes, because I want it done, right?
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: But not because, you know, I think it should be done.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: I need it done for myself.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: But right now I can't do it, right?
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I'm learning how to be compassionate with myself.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's what I'm hearing is a deep sense of caring and compassion coming from that place of compassion.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, I like to laugh about it, actually.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Is that really true?
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: Like, it doesn't really, you know, should I really be doing that, or am I just telling myself that I need to be doing that?
- 9:57SPEAKER_02: So I kind of use humor, too, compassion and humor.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: I think they're wonderful companions.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: So that's something I've heard that before.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: I've been advised to, you know, ask myself, is that really true?
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: And it's funny that you say that because I don't do that to myself.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: But I know that, you know, it's not that I should be doing it.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: It really is because I want to be doing it.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't like walking into my kitchen first thing in the morning and last night's dishes are still there.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Like, that drives me crazy, right?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: So it's not a matter of I should do them.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: I want to do them, right, for my own sanity, right?
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: You
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: know, just right now with my shoulder, I can't.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: And so, but I tried, like, and I'm sure, and I even advise, you know, other women the same, you know, just changing that word should, right?
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: It's not, I don't know what, like, I don't know where, who created that word because it's kind of a slang.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: It's kind of a swear word, really, right?
- 11:00UNKNOWN: Yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 11:02SPEAKER_02: It's a swear word.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: That's a quotable moment.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Like, don't you think?
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Like, really?
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: Like, who says you should do something, right?
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: The other one that I just love is I will try.
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, let's make a decision.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: Are you going to do it or you're not going to do it?
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Right, right, and I'm learning that now too, right?
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: I keep hearing trying is lying, right?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Right, and so I'm like, well, no, I am going to try, right?
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: If I do it, it gets done.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: If I don't do it, it didn't work.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: But I get, you know, like I also understand that, you know, if I'm trying and I don't put my heart into it, then it won't work, right?
- 11:53SPEAKER_02: Whereas if I say I'm going to do it, you know, I'm going to do it, whether it's, you know, in my heart or not.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: I'm going to get it done.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I often ask the women I work with, like, what are you committed to?
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: And they go, what?
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: And I go, so what are you committed to?
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Are you committed to having a deeper sense of peace and enjoyment in what you're doing, or are you committed to being stressed out and in the hustle?
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: And that's a powerful thing to help them realize that they get to choose what they're committed to.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, for sure.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like, you know, when you ask yourself in the morning, you know, who do I need to be today, right?
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: It's like, okay, so what am I going to be today?
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Like, who really, like, who needs to be here today, right?
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: I have this to get done, right?
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: So tell me, where do I fit there?
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: You know, who has to do that, right?
- 12:55SPEAKER_02: Because it could be present me or it could be, you know, blog brain, right?
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: Where we're like, you know, in another world, just, you know, kind of going with the flow, doing whatever I got to do.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: But if you're present, you not only do what you got to do, but you get it done and you get it done your way.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Sounds like we have some feedback coming through.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I love what you're saying, you know, is that, so, like, who do we get to be?
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: I often say that, too, because, in fact, Atomic Habits, have you read that book?
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: I have, yes.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I love, because they talk about, like, our behaviors and our outcomes are always the result of the target in the middle is who we're being.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: So I love the fact that I didn't know that that's what you focus on too.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: I actually have a morning practice that I go through my gratitude.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: I go through basically centering my mind and my body in my day.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: And then I do ask myself, who do I get to be today?
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: And so like today, because I have a number of talks that I'm doing and I started my day off with a networking event called BNI.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: I said, I go, okay, so I get to be compassionate connection today.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: And that means to myself, to others.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: I'm just being present in that.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: And then it's less of a hustle to, you know, the rest of it's just extra.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I get that.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: And so when you say to yourself, I get to be committed and connected, do you need to remind yourself throughout the day, especially at like a, well, maybe at a networking meeting, not because that's sort of the purpose of being there, but like throughout your day, like, you know, things happen, but you might get a phone call that, you know, is a little disruptive to your day.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: How do you bring yourself back to that?
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: I just have to say that is so true.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: And this is, it's something I teach actually with the visioning exercises that I do.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: Um, is that often what happens in this dualistic world is that the opposite shows up, right?
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: And so we get to come back to our center going, oh, right, take a breath.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: Who do I get to be?
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: You know, connected and compassionate.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, it's a moment-to-moment practice, I think.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: It's not just like do it in the morning and then it gets infused throughout the day.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like, I mean, I struggle with that still, right?
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: So usually, because I do it, like, on my bed, right, before I...
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: Not before I get up, but I do it after my shower so that I'm, like, fresh and ready for the day.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: And I sit there and I go, now, how am I going to keep myself reminded that that's who I am today?
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Because I...
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: And I...
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: I'm going to be honest, I fail at that often because I don't bring myself back to that moment.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: But when I go back to my room, you know, and of course, working from home, it's a little bit easier.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: I'm going in and out of my room a little bit more often than I would.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: But if I don't make it through, you know, when I go into my room, I see my bed and I'm like, oh, right, today was, you know, I'm being, you know, ambitious and motivated, right, or whatever it is.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: But if I don't go back to my room, yeah, and if I don't go back to my room, You know, if something comes up throughout the day, I don't think of those two words.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: I don't think of that.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: And so I tend to fall back into like my old pattern where I'm, you know, I don't know, whatever, like I'd be cranky or whatever it was that, you know, it's my normal.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Not my normal.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: I don't want to say normal, but my natural, right?
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Because we all are, you know, I'm still learning how to control my emotions, right?
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: So how do you do that?
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: How do you keep up with that reminder of, okay, this is who I am today?
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: You know, that's a good question.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: I think before I go, so like I said, I have a number of calls.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: I'm doing a facilitation at lunch today.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: And I think I just take a deep breath before I go into the experience.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: Like I have at least 15 minutes between each of my, or I try to have 15 minutes between each of my calls when my client calls and so on so that I can actually, you know, take a moment, go outside, be in the sunshine for a moment, take a deep breath, ground, and then remind myself who I get to be.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: I find I do it, I do the reminding more when it's, When I consider a– I'm actually realizing when I– when it's like more of a I'm going to be on, let's say.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I'll call it a pivotal moment.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: I'm going to be on like right before my networking or right before a presentation or even before a desk call today.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: I was like, who do I get to be?
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Compassionate, connected, you know.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I think it's just– and like I said, the stuff shows up.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: like conversations with my sister sometimes where I'm like, really?
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: And so it pushes my buttons, right?
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: And I just have, yeah.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: So I think, yeah, I think it's a moment-to-moment practice.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I actually ask myself, so what is the image that I'm getting?
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: Because I see a lot in images sometimes.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: So it might be, okay, like I'm just feeling into it right now, like a compassionate and connected woman.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: So I envision I have like a little statue that has a heart, and she's in like her, I'll call it her zen space.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: She's kind of like in a meditative stance, and she's got this heart around her necklace.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: So I might grab an image in my mind, environment and put it on my desk.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: So on my desk almost becomes my little altar, right?
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've heard that too.
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: I've heard, you know, but I mean, let's face it, our desks are not big enough for all these reminders, you know, unless you want to change them every day, right?
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: Unless you are, you know, unless you're looking for that space What's the word I'm looking for?
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Like if that's who you want to be every day, right, that would be your compassionate and your, right?
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: So that would be your thing for every day.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: Well, she does spend a lot of time with me.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: Let me say that, that little figurine.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Oh, so that's, yeah.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: And I guess she could have lots of different meanings, right?
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: But that could be your grounding and your, you know, who am I today?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: You look at her and she's like, oh, you're like, oh, yeah, that's what I said today.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: I'm going to be this kind of caring today.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: Mm-hmm.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I love that.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: I think in contrast, I can remember when I was in corporate for a number of years and I was a I rose to the level of VP of Human Resources.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: And it was just like chasing the next crazy thing that needed to get done.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: And it wasn't very conscious, let's say.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: It was more like deadline-focused and everybody else's priority.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: And so I think as I'm getting a little bit older and wiser, I'm coming back to, ah...
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: So I have to be compassionate with myself first before I can go out and be compassionate with other people.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, it's that continual asking, does this need to be done right now?
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Is this true?
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: You know, questioning it as opposed to just taking it at face value.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: You know, you said something about you have to be compassionate with yourself first before you can be compassionate with others.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: And it dawned on me that I've always said I really have no compassion in me.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: But at the same time, like when you said that, I'm like, yeah, I've never been compassionate with myself, right?
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you know, most other women, and I'm always hard on myself.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm getting better because I'm learning, right, that, you know, that's not how we should be living.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: We should be living our lives, right?
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: We need to be living our lives like we actually admire ourselves and have reason to respect ourselves.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, when you said that, I'm like, oh, yeah.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: So that's why I feel like I have no compassion because I have no compassion.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: Ah, right.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: So we can get impatient with others because we don't have first compassion with ourselves.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was brought into a body of work that's called positive intelligence.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Have you ever heard of that?
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: I think I have, but I'm not sure.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: But you can tell me all about it.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, it's super cool.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: And it's relatively easy to do.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: So it was brought, so it's called positive intelligence.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: And the concept here is that we can either live in the saboteur mind, which is that part of us that is constantly judging.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: Like we can probably all relate to the perfectionist, the stickler, the driver.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: I'm a high achiever.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: So there's, you know, I could do something and then it just seems like the next, I'm on to the next thing, right?
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: So it was created by, and I didn't create it.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: This is created a body of work that came out of Stanford by this guy named Shirzad Shamim.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: I think I'm pronouncing his last name correctly.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: And it's just super powerful because it basically helps us to go into sage mind as opposed to saboteur mind.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: And stage mind knows it's in that place of creativity.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: It's in that place of, like I was saying, presence.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: It's in the place of collaboration, which happens to be like a, I think a really strong female attribute.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: Like we really want to please, right?
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: That's that opposite of the shooting, you know, where we feel like we have to be doing something because we're going to be judged or blamed or guilty.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: And instead we come from a place of positive regard.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: And so I blend the two because I, I don't think I mentioned this, but I geek out about this stuff because I not only have that background in human resources, like managing high-performance teams, but then I went back to school to get my advanced degree in somatic psychotherapy.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: So I'm all about, like, how do we create high performance in ourselves and in the teams that we work with and the communities that we work with?
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: And so when I saw this tool come across, Positive Intelligence, you can look it up a little bit later, like I said, it's just a really powerful piece of work because It helps you with just a few strategies, let's say.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: First of all, it's becoming aware, right?
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: There's that judgy mind that's going on.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: There's names for it, kind of catchy little names for the saboteurs.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: But the judge is the biggest one, basically.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: There's the avoider, the controller.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: Maybe some of these will sound familiar to your readership or they can relate.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: The hyperachiever, the hyperrational, hypervigilant, the pleaser, the victim, or the restless person.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: So that ability that there's always the next level of excitement driven by adrenaline and so on.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: And so those can, yeah, so I'll get off my soapbox about that.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: But I just think it's really powerful to realize that we all have some aspect of those saboteurs in our psyche.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: And how can we begin to wrestle with them?
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: Because it's actually quite a human thing.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: We all have them.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: especially the judge, but it's a matter of taming it so that we're more in our stage line.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, I used to forgive myself for judging other people because it is human nature.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: And then when my kids, when my, and like my husband kept saying, you know, all humans judge, right?
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: It's human nature.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: And to me, for whatever reason, it was like it was a past.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: And so I used to be quite judgmental.
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: And I wouldn't speak it out loud necessarily, but in my mind.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: And then when my kids got older, my daughter used to point out how I was looking at people.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: And I was like, what are you talking about?
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: And she's like, you're looking at that lady like you're really judging her.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: And I was like, really?
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Like in a negative way?
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: So I'm one of these, you know, I guess maybe it's the European in me where, you know, our mind is on our face.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: And I was like, oh.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: So that was my first realization that, you know what, you need to stop that.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: Because, you know, it's one thing to judge people.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: But when you can tell that you're being judgmental and you're not even opening your mouth, that's really bad.
- 26:04UNKNOWN: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Good or bad.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: And I never really, like, when my daughter pointed that out to me that I thought, wow, like, you know, it's one thing to judge people, but, you know, let's not be, like, overly judgmental.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: So I've really taken a step back on that.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: And it's funny that you say that this, you know, we all have it and you need to become aware of it.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 26:29UNKNOWN: Yeah.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, because it can be driving the show or you can be driving the show.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: That's the difference there.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: I like what
- 26:37SPEAKER_02: you're saying is that I'm thinking about when you talk about judging others is I guess I get curious then.
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: If I'm judging others, I'm trying to think like the networking meeting I went to this morning.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: oh, okay, I was kind of judging it because I was like, man, you guys got lots of rules.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: And then I thought to myself, so what does that have to say about me, you know?
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: Do I have lots of rules?
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Or, you know, what's my relationship to rule following?
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: So I use it as like a tool then to get to know me better.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: Does that make sense?
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: And I think that's kind of where I've gone.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: Like that's kind of– the direction that I've taken with that because, you know, I still believe that, you know, as in human nature, we are going to judge.
- 27:30SPEAKER_02: But then I think, why am I judging, right?
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: Like why is that different for me or is it the same and do I treat it the same, right?
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: So kind of like what you're doing.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: Like I think that means something to me if I'm judging it.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: So what is that about me?
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it means something to me.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: Or this body of work that I was talking about, positive intelligence, they say basically one of the reasons that we judge is to keep ourselves safe.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: And so the concept there is our brains were actually pre-wired to look for the saber-toothed tiger.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: That was going to– what's the word– attack us, right?
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: So there's no, but there's no longer the saber-toothed tiger, but we still have a part of our brain, I think it's the amygdala, that is on hyper alert.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: So if we can begin to reframe or help that part of our brain to look for the positive that's out there as opposed to the negative, then we become And it's never a black and white thing, but it becomes more of a propensity to, let's call it, celebrate what's out there rather than make that which is around us bad and wrong.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Because truly, like the example I was getting earlier that I was kind of judgy about the fact that they have some rules that seems kind of arbitrary and like, why would I want to play by their game book kind of a thing?
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: But the whole of the meeting was really positive.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: I got to meet 20 other superstars, you know.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, oh, okay.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: So that was judging, right?
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: And is this in service?
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: It's discernment maybe.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: But it's not going to hurt me, right, to follow some of the rules, right?
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: So anyway, that's kind of where my mind goes with all of this is just first being aware of my response.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Am I having, I call it an open body aware response, or am I having hands over my chest and protecting my self stance?
- 29:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, that makes sense, right?
- 29:39SPEAKER_02: That totally makes sense.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: Like, are we judging that because, you know, we feel like we're in danger in some way?
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:47SPEAKER_02: And I could see that as a network meeting, right?
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: Because you're meeting people that you don't know.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: You don't know if they're going to be your client, if there's someone you can collaborate with, or someone that you're just going to become acquaintances with, right?
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: And, yeah, I could see that, right?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Because nobody likes to be vulnerable, right?
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I guess I've found it more, I think that might be one of my, I call it super soft, is that I feel comfortable enough to be vulnerable and to be my wacky self, you know?
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: I'm realizing, why try to be like somebody else?
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: You know, taken.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: I get to be me.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: I get to be my full self-expression.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: And believe me, I didn't feel this way when I was younger.
- 30:37SPEAKER_02: I remember keeping my mouth shut, not really wanting to express my viewpoints, even though I might have had an alternative viewpoint.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: And I guess that's coming back full circle, by the way, when we started this conversation is like saying, so what makes what I do with women different?
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: And I think it's because I asked them to have presence, to be confident in their presence and acknowledge the fact that We are all unique.
- 31:09SPEAKER_02: But this has been a process for me.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: I wasn't born this way, right?
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: It's a little bit audacious because I remember when I said at a coming out party in 2016, by coming out, I meant that I was coming out to the world that I'm an intuitive, that I see things that maybe others don't see and hear messages, see blockages, etc., And that could be kind of witchy, I guess.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: But I thought, you know, those that understand or are curious will engage.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: That's true.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: It's, you know, kind of almost sad that we have to, like, come out, right?
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: That kind of stuff is not– it's really not acceptable, right?
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Like, it's kind of like– Look down on still.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: Well, it can, but then again, those aren't my people.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right?
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: And so I think as we're able to be more, coming back to full circle to what we started talking about today, was having that embodied presence, then we're able to own, like, yeah, I get to do this.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: I get to rock this.
- 32:28SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: That is not to say the little...
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: nigglings come in and they say, what the heck are you thinking?
- 32:37SPEAKER_02: But for the most part.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: Well, and the thing is, like, being an intuitive sounds like, you know, like, are you psychic?
- 32:45SPEAKER_02: Are you psycho?
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: Like, you tell me, like, what is it?
- 32:49SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 32:49SPEAKER_02: Because we all have intuition, right?
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: Not everyone knows how to, you know, communicate.
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: I guess I want to say listen to, but it's not really necessarily listening to, but we all don't know how to get in touch with our intuition, right?
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I guess not everybody does.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like I noticed with my daughter, she really had a hard time reading people.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: She trusted everyone.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: You know, she thought everyone was...
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: you know, like her mom and her dad and loved her for who she was no matter what.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: And unfortunately, she got hurt a few times by, you know, friends and boyfriends.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: And finally, I said to her, what does your body say to you when you, you know, are meeting people?
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: And she was like, what are you talking about?
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: And I
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: felt really bad because I thought I should be teaching her this, like, from when she was little, right?
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: But I didn't really understand it myself at the time.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: But as I got older, I started to realize, you know, our bodies tell us, right, if something is good for us or not good for us.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: And that's what our intuition is, right?
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, it took me a long time to figure it out on my own.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: But I tried with her because she was meeting, like, all these new people, being young, right?
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: And I said, your body's telling you if this is good for you or not.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, we all have it, right?
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: It's just a matter of if we pay attention to it.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and so I think what you're pointing to is that we all process differently, though, too.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: So she may not be aware of her body's signals, like I was talking about earlier, like, am I open-hearted?
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: and feeling at ease in my body, or am I feeling like I need to protect myself, you know, like closing, I call it contraction or openness.
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: But another tool that I've been using with people, and this is a form of intuition in a way, but isn't his body based?
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: And I actually do this with clients or potential clients if I'm working with them.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: So imagine that you are continuing along this trajectory.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: Imagine it's three months from now and you're continuing along this trajectory.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Imagine what that's like in your environment.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: Like are you happy with those results?
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Or imagine that you actually get the support and the strategies and a compassionate leadership to take you, or accountability to take you to the next level.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: Imagine that three months from now.
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: What could that be like in your life and your business to do that?
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: And people can generally feel into that, what I call it, future pacing, if they can't get into their bodies.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's a good way of bringing them in, yeah.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because that's like...
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: You know, that's like that question.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: If anything was possible and there was no possibility of failure, what would you be doing?
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: That's almost the same kind of question, right?
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: Yep, same kind of question because it's like it's future pacing and it's going okay.
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: So like I got a new aha just recently.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: My mom, I was talking to my mom recently passed recently.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: It was a few months journey.
- 36:20SPEAKER_02: And I began to realize, so what do I, now that I'm in this new chapter, she's just about a month ago, she transitioned.
- 36:27SPEAKER_02: And so I'm in a new chapter and so I get to reimagine my future.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: And one of the things that got really clear to me, like you're talking about, like what would you do if you didn't have any theory or there was no limit?
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I'm going back to doing my retreats again because I used to do domestic and international retreats, like taking women to Bali or Israel ahead of Mexico or even beautiful places in the United States, like along the Central Coast here and Sedona.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: And so I'm vibed up again because I ask myself the question, you know, that future-facing question.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: Like, what do I want my life?
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: I didn't say three months.
- 37:05SPEAKER_02: I said more like the next nine months to 12 months.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's great.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: So this is something, I mean, anybody could ask themselves, right?
- 37:15SPEAKER_02: And if they need to reach out for support, that's when they would come to you, right?
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: Because, I mean, obviously when you say support, that's what you mean, right?
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: Let me help you.
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: Let me, you know, let me guide you on the steps that you need to do to be that person in three months or nine months or whatever you wish to be.
- 37:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I generally use it for people who are either potential clients or going to be or already clients.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: You're right, but...
- 37:43SPEAKER_02: You know, the fact is I'm not the only resource that they have.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: So sometimes it's a matter of just connecting them to the fact that they have a deep desire to have life that's different than what it is.
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: They are, what's the word?
- 38:00SPEAKER_02: Compliant is not the right word.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: Complacent.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Complacent is the word I'm looking for.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: That maybe they've been in a place where they're like, yeah, it's good enough.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, okay, is good enough good enough?
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: or do you want to take it to the next level?
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: So I think that's possibly one of my secret sauces is that I begin to help people.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: I call it, I'm a chief possibility officer because I help people to see possibilities where they didn't see possibilities before.
- 38:33SPEAKER_02: I call it like walking down a corridor and you don't even realize that there's doors that are there on either side.
- 38:39SPEAKER_02: And I say, let's go look in that door.
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: Let's poke in there.
- 38:42SPEAKER_02: And it might be a little scary or, you know, to do things differently.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: or whatever, but I ask them to open the door.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: First, the door is there.
- 38:51SPEAKER_02: Open the door.
- 38:52SPEAKER_02: Check it out.
- 38:53SPEAKER_02: If it works for you, great.
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: If it doesn't, everything is there to support you, to help you learn more about yourself and others.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: In fact, I've often said that entrepreneurship is one of the best personal growth tools that we have on this planet, right?
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: You've probably experienced that.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: Yes, absolutely.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it brings a lot of us to our business, right?
- 39:15UNKNOWN: Yes.
- 39:16SPEAKER_02: Yep, yep.
- 39:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I love that.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: I love this.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: So we didn't really talk much about your business.
- 39:24SPEAKER_02: We talked a lot about, you know, our really like how to grow, really.
- 39:33SPEAKER_02: What kind of, so like, okay, so I'm going to go back here a second.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: When women come to you and they want to work with you, what are they struggling with?
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: So generally stress and overwhelm, they're in a persistent, possibly even lifetime pattern where they've been in struggle.
- 39:55SPEAKER_02: And then what I basically share with them is that they no longer have to be struggling to that extent.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: In other words, if you didn't get clear on what it is, there's a three-step process.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: Get clear on what it is you wanna create, overcome the block and take action.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: So what I've been focusing on more recently I do help them get in touch with what is it, because I'll ask them the question.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: So what would additional profitability in your business do?
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: And they'll often say, oh, well, I'd like to make more money.
- 40:24SPEAKER_02: And I go, yes, but what does the money allow you to do?
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Does it allow you to have freedom to be with your family, to have greater health and well-being, to have a greater sense of what did somebody say recently?
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: They said a sense of accomplishment.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: And let that settle for a moment.
- 40:38SPEAKER_02: I think we all can align with that.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: She wanted to have a deeper level of accomplishment in her life.
- 40:44SPEAKER_02: And some of them want to be able to travel, et cetera.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: So then I'm like, okay, so let's look at strategies that can begin to get you going in that direction.
- 40:53SPEAKER_02: And maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but the way I see it, and that's kind of who I be in the world, is I can...
- 41:03SPEAKER_02: I've been looking at tools for, I don't know, 20 some odd years.
- 41:07SPEAKER_02: And then I've been able to find some of the most powerful tools to get women on their path to profitability.
- 41:15SPEAKER_02: And it helps them with leads and it helps them with conversions and it helps them with charging what they're worth and it helps them to basically begin to have the business skills that maybe they've never been taught before.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: I know when I was trained As a psychotherapist, for example, they never taught us how to run a business.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: They gave us the tools in which to deliver psychotherapy or sit with a group or sit with an individual.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: So basically I had to go back to school, coaching programs and so on, to learn the tools that I'm now sharing with women so that their lives don't have to be as complicated and so much of a hustle and they can feel a deeper sense of I'll call it like that, sense of being their unique self in their business, in their life, and valuing their rhythms, you know?
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 42:13SPEAKER_02: So your clients are usually entrepreneurs, but it sounds like you could help even if they're not entrepreneurs, right?
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 42:25SPEAKER_02: So the majority of my business are entrepreneurs and every once in a while I'll have people slip in and they say, I want to be, I had one guy come to me and he says, I want to be a better leader.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: I had a woman, this is interesting actually, I had a woman say, Carrie, you're very magnetic and you have a really magical life.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: Can you teach me how to create magic in my life?
- 42:47SPEAKER_02: And I thought about it and I thought, that's not the program I developed.
- 42:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, I've developed a couple of programs.
- 42:52SPEAKER_02: One's the Be the Queen of Your Destiny.
- 42:55SPEAKER_02: Another one is like Bring Your Zing.
- 42:57SPEAKER_02: And what I'm currently delivering is a program called Pathway to Profit.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: But it's just interesting.
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: You know, if I see that I can connect people to their heart's wisdom, yeah, bring it.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: I'll do that, you know, in whatever way they need because I have a number of tools that I can bring to the game.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 43:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:19SPEAKER_02: And, I mean, you've been doing this, like, for a long time.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: I want to say close to 20 years.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: I think that's amazing.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: So if you can give, you know, our listeners, you know, some bit of support or advice.
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: if they're struggling right now, like you said, like a lifetime struggle, what could you offer them today?
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Like what could you give them as far as, you know, maybe a path to follow or a road?
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so thank you for asking because I was originally thinking, oh, because I have like three of these on my website that they can actually access to.
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: So the first, like I said, it's a three-step process.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: The first thing is to get clear about what it is that you want to create.
- 44:14SPEAKER_02: That's the blueprint for your life, for your business.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: And that's actually on my website, the Chiefs to Empowerment website.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: And then the second part of that is Find some way that you can overcome your limitations.
- 44:29SPEAKER_02: So if you're shitting on yourself, if you are judging yourself or have beliefs that are really erroneous, get support around that.
- 44:39SPEAKER_02: That's something that I help people with.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: You know, I'm not the only person who does it.
- 44:43SPEAKER_02: So get support around those things that are what I call limiting factors, the bumps in the road.
- 44:51SPEAKER_02: And then the third part of that is take action because it is...
- 44:55SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to think of a strong way to put this, that if you are not taking forward momentum in your life, that means if you're just cognating, maybe just thinking about ideas.
- 45:06SPEAKER_02: I see this sometimes where people will go.
- 45:07SPEAKER_02: They show me their 30-page business plan.
- 45:10SPEAKER_02: I go, well, that's really nice, but what action have you taken towards your dream?
- 45:16SPEAKER_02: Or how is the actions that you're taking, are they actually moving in the direction you want to go, right?
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: So getting clear.
- 45:25SPEAKER_02: Overcoming limiting beliefs and then taking action.
- 45:28SPEAKER_02: Because every time we take action, we will receive some form of feedback in the process, right?
- 45:35SPEAKER_02: Good or bad, but either way, mistakes or failure is just a learning off.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: And that's, you know, it doesn't matter what we're doing, whether we're running a business or we're running a household.
- 45:51SPEAKER_02: That is, those three questions, those three steps that's the answer to everything we do in our life, right?
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: So, yeah, like, I mean, obviously, I could ask you a million more questions.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: The last question I'm going to ask you, though, is why do you do what you're doing?
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: Because I believe that women are the answer to changing the consciousness of our planet.
- 46:25SPEAKER_02: We are in a destructive pattern on our planet where it's dog-eat-dog, it's that competition, it's less collaboration.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: And ever since I was a little girl, I have always known that there was a different way of doing that.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: My dream was to create a conscious, collaborative world where we can uplift each other.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: And so that's one of the reasons why I've been working with women is because As leaders, they really want to collaborate.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: They're caring collaborators.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: And how can we bring a greater level of consciousness to the work that we're doing, to heal our planet, heal each other, heal our community?
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: So I often work with coaches and healers, people who are heart-centered entrepreneurs and who have a similar vision to mine.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: That's empowering, just that.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: I love how you answered that.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: That is absolutely amazing.
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for joining me today.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much for asking me, Tina.
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: I appreciate you so much.

- 47:36SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: Thank you for joining in my mission.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 47:43SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 47:43SPEAKER_02: We have a similar mission, isn't it?
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: That's why I think I was so attracted to what you're up to is that you're really wanting to elevate the confidence that women have.
- 47:55SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 47:56SPEAKER_02: So I love what you're up to.
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
