- 0:00Exodus chapter 25, verse one and the Lord spoke to Moses saying,
- 0:08well what did he say? Let's go to verse 2.
- 0:11Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering
- 0:15of every man that gives it willingly with his heart.
- 0:18You shall take my offering. So we could see here that Moses
- 0:22in the previous chapter was invited to come up and to be in
- 0:26the presence of God Almighty, the God of Israel.
- 0:31And you can see that Moses is there on the mountain top
- 0:34receiving and relaying to God. And we see that God was well
- 0:38pleased to invite Moses in that he had the coveted position of
- 0:43actually being in the presence of God for 40 days and for 40
- 0:47nights. And here God is going to give
- 0:49him the blueprints for the Tabernacle so that God can come
- 0:54and be with His people and he can come into the holiest of
- 0:57holy places and that He would be there with them.
- 1:00What an amazing God we serve that He desires to be close to
- 1:04us, sinful humanity. We are his masterpiece.
- 1:08We are made in his image, Imago Dei, friends, and we can barely
- 1:13even scratch the surface. We can scarcely take it in,
- 1:17friends, the importance of what God has for us if we'll get out
- 1:22of our own way and we'll actually step into the reality
- 1:26of the biblical narrative for our lives.
- 1:28Let's move to verse 3. And this is the offering which
- 1:32you shall take of them, gold, silver, brass.
- 1:36So he wants it willingly. God doesn't strong arm us,
- 1:40friends. He wants us to make a decision
- 1:43for him. He's never going to make us do
- 1:46anything, friends. It is free will.
- 1:49But for those of us who were called and predestined and
- 1:53chosen and elected before the foundations of the earth, it is
- 1:57futile to resist a loving and a holy God.
- 2:00So we need to make sure that we willingly bring him the first
- 2:07fruits, willingly give him the first dollar, the first hour,
- 2:12the first of everything. And we give it to him because He
- 2:17is worthy of it. And we don't just say thank you
- 2:20for the 90% that He allows us to keep because it is all his, 100%
- 2:25his. But whenever we give him the
- 2:27first, what it does is it blesses the rest.
- 2:31What it does is it shows us where our allegiance is.
- 2:35It shows us where our heart is, friends.
- 2:39And you cannot serve both God and Mammon.
- 2:42And so the Israelites came out of Egypt rich in the abundance
- 2:46of all the treasures of the people.
- 2:48And God wants to test them and to ask them where their heart is
- 2:54in the matter. And He doesn't just take it from
- 2:56them. He wants them to come with a
- 2:58willing heart. And He says the same thing to
- 3:00you and to me. It's all His.
- 3:02The earth is his. The fullness of it.
- 3:05Your entire bank account, everything in your house, all
- 3:08the material blessings that God has given you, your house and
- 3:12your spouse, your abilities, your ability to walk into
- 3:15talking, to reason, your sight, your hearing, every single thing
- 3:20is God's. But He wants you to bring it and
- 3:22lay it on the altar. And He will decide what is
- 3:26useful and what he can use and what He will give back.
- 3:31And you can out give God. Anything that you give to God
- 3:34will be repaid to you, whether in this life or the life to
- 3:38come. 4IN blue and purple and scarlet fine linen and goat's
- 3:46hair. 5 Rams skins dyed red, badger skins and chitin wood.
- 3:52This is the Acacia wood, friends.
- 3:54He wants us to take the gold and the silver and the brass and all
- 4:00of the fine linen and the scarlet and purple and blue
- 4:04yarn. The goat's hair, the ram skins.
- 4:07He wants them to dye it red. The badger skins.
- 4:10All the Acacia wood. 6 Oil for light and spices, for anointing
- 4:15oil and for sweet incense. 7 Onyx stones and stones to be set
- 4:21in the epod and in the breastplate. 8 And let them make
- 4:25a sanctuary that I'm dwell among them.
- 4:28So all of this is a prototype of the heavenly reality.
- 4:32Friends, these are the things that God is encircled around and
- 4:36about. We see it in Revelation chapter
- 4:384. We see the sea of glass mingled
- 4:41with fire. We see the living creatures.
- 4:44We see the elders falling down and casting their crowns.
- 4:47And God deserves all of our worship.
- 4:51And here he is telling Moses what is it like in his presence,
- 4:55and he wants them to have some kind of resemblance upon it here
- 5:00on this earth. Aid, and let them make me a
- 5:06sanctuary that I may dwell among them.
- 5:08Nine, according to all that I show you, after the pattern of
- 5:12the Tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments of it,
- 5:17Even so shall you make it? Look at how wealthy these
- 5:20Israelites are as they're lead, as they're LED out of Egypt and
- 5:25they're in the wilderness, and look at all the things they have
- 5:28access to. Friends, this gold we know that
- 5:32they spoiled the Egyptians on their way out.
- 5:35Look at all of the things that they possess and they have in
- 5:39their hands, and it is one thing to have possessions, but it is a
- 5:45whole nother thing to be possessed by them.
- 5:49Never forget that. We have to give it willingly.
- 5:52Don't be like the monkey who puts his hand in the tree to
- 5:57grab out the food, but he won't let go of it to get his hand
- 6:02unstuck out of the tree. We have to be those who
- 6:06willingly give up all of our possessions unto God and watch
- 6:11how He showers it right back on 8 flings open the windows.
- 6:16He showers all the good things of this life back upon us, but
- 6:20we have to be willing to let it go.
- 6:22Friends, we cannot let those things have a hold on us like
- 6:26they do so many people. We live open handedly.
- 6:31We don't hold anything in a higher regard than our
- 6:35relationship with God Almighty. Verse 10 And they shall make an
- 6:40ark of two wood, 2 cubits, and a half shall be the length of it,
- 6:45and a cubit and a half the breadth of it, and a cubit and a
- 6:48half the height of it. So this ark of the covenant is
- 6:51to be made with this Acacia wood. 11 And you shall overlay
- 6:55it with pure gold within and without you shall overlay it,
- 7:00and shall make upon it a crown of gold rounding about it.
- 7:04So this ark of the covenant was to house the tablets of stone
- 7:09that God's going to write the law upon.
- 7:12It's going to house the jar of manna.
- 7:15It's going to house Aaron's staff that had budded.
- 7:18And we see Jesus Christ types and shadows and all of these
- 7:24things. We see the corruptible body of
- 7:27Jesus as the Acacia would. We see the gold that was
- 7:32overlaid as His deity wrapped around him and in Him.
- 7:36We see that He was fully manned and fully God represented by
- 7:41this ark of the covenant. We see that God told them to
- 7:46overlay it with the gold and in verse 12, and you shall cast
- 7:50four rings of gold for it and put them in the four corners of
- 7:55it, and two rings shall be on one side of it and two rings on
- 7:59the other side of it. So they are to attach poles in
- 8:02it because it is so holy. The presence of God, the
- 8:06manifest presence of God, resting upon this wooden box
- 8:11overlaid with gold that you're going to see later, men who
- 8:16irreverently touch it and they immediately die.
- 8:19So these poles were intended to keep them from rolling it on the
- 8:24cart. It was to be carried, friends,
- 8:27and they were to have reverence for it. 13 And you shall make
- 8:34stays of wood and overlay them with gold.
- 8:37So these were the Staffs, these were the poles that were
- 8:41overlaid with gold. 14 And you shall put the staves into the
- 8:46rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be born with
- 8:50them. So these poles, these golden
- 8:53poles were to be slid through the rings, and that was how they
- 8:59are to carry this thing around. 15 The staves shall be in the
- 9:10rings of the ark, and they shall not be taken from it.
- 9:13So that is how it was to be carried.
- 9:15They weren't to be taken in and out of those holes. 16 And you
- 9:20shall put into the ark of the testimony which I shall give
- 9:23you. 17 And you shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. 2
- 9:32cubits and a half shall be the length of it, a cubit and a half
- 9:36the breath of it. So here is the mercy seat.
- 9:39This is the Bema seat of Christ. This is where God decided to
- 9:44make His manifest presence known unto earthly people. 18 And you
- 9:50shall make 2 cherubims of gold of beaten work, and you shall
- 9:54make them in the two ends of the mercy seat.
- 9:57So these were the angels, one at the head and one at the foot.
- 10:01We saw it when Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead.
- 10:04Go back and read it. You're going to see that there
- 10:07were angels, one at the head and one at the foot, and this was
- 10:10the mercy seat of God, and everything points unto Jesus
- 10:13Christ. 19 And you make one cherub on one end, and the other
- 10:18cherub on the other end, even of the mercy seat shall you make
- 10:21the cherubims on the 2 ends of it.
- 10:24So you can see here that it's all pointing towards Jesus and
- 10:28the sacrifice that he would make.
- 10:29And that is why it pleased God to make himself known unto a
- 10:34people who would listen to him and actually build everything
- 10:37out to the most finite detail. And isn't it amazing that the
- 10:42Jewish people had enough wherewithal to attach themselves
- 10:47to Elohim, the Most High God? And he found Abraham out in the
- 10:54land of the Khaldis in Syria, and he called him unto himself
- 10:58and made an entire nation out of him.
- 11:02And he had no children at the time.
- 11:04And now look 2 million deep. And God is finally getting them
- 11:09to this place where He is to be worshipped among them and
- 11:12understood in the physical reality. 20 And the cherubim
- 11:17shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat
- 11:22with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another
- 11:26toward the mercy seat. Shall the faces of the cherubim
- 11:29be. This is the scene at the
- 11:31resurrection of Jesus at the angels.
- 11:34One at the head and one at the foot.
- 11:36This is all pointing towards our Lord and our King. 21 And you
- 11:41shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark, and in the ark you
- 11:47shall put the testimony that I shall give you.
- 11:50So God's going to write on the tablets of stone, and he's
- 11:54telling Moses to put them into this box overlaid with gold,
- 11:59with poles. 22 And there I will meet with you, and I will
- 12:04commune with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two
- 12:09cherubims, which are upon the ark of the testimony, and all
- 12:14things which I will give you in commandment unto the children of
- 12:18Israel. So you can see how this cherubim
- 12:21and this box was to house the law.
- 12:25And we see that the blood of Jesus Christ is above the law,
- 12:29and it covers the law, and it fulfills the law, friends, and
- 12:33everything is covered by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 12:37And these two angels are representative of the
- 12:40resurrection. 23 And you shall also make a table of Tim Wood. 2
- 12:48cubits shall be the length of it, and a cubit the breadth of
- 12:52it, and a cubit and a half the height of it.
- 12:55So here we're going to get to see the table of showbread, and
- 12:59we know that Jesus Christ is the bread of life. 24 And you shall
- 13:02overlay it with pure gold, and make there to a crown of gold
- 13:07round and about it. So this table was to house 12
- 13:10loaves of bread representing the 12 tribes of His in God's
- 13:15constant provision for them. And we know that for us that
- 13:25Jesus Christ completely satisfies us but leaves us
- 13:29longing for more. 25 And you shall make unto the border of a
- 13:39handbreadth round and about, and you shall make a golden crown to
- 13:43the border of it round and about. 26 And you shall make for
- 13:46it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners
- 13:50that are on the four feet of it. So they are to do the same with
- 13:54this table of showbread that they did for the Ark of the
- 13:57Covenant, and put these rings so it can be carried 27 over and
- 14:02against the border. Shall the rings be for places of
- 14:05the stage to bear the table? So they're to carry this table
- 14:10for showbread air, to carry it with these poles. 28 And you
- 14:16shall make the stays of Tim Wood and overlay them with gold, that
- 14:21the table may be born with them. 29 And you shall make the dishes
- 14:25of it in the spoons there of it, and the covers of it in the
- 14:28bowls of it, to cover with it with pure gold, and you shall
- 14:32make them. So everything in relation to
- 14:36this table of showbread is to be overlaid with the gold, and they
- 14:41are to bear this table up by thee poles. 30 And you shall set
- 14:48upon the table to show bread before me always.
- 14:51So God desires for them to have the 12 loaves of bread always
- 14:56continuously before him. 31 And you shall make a Candlestick of
- 15:02pure gold. Of beaten work shall the
- 15:05Candlestick be made. His shaft and his branches, his
- 15:09bowls, his knops, and his flowers shall be of the same.
- 15:13So this was a 75 LB solid piece of gold that this Candlestick
- 15:20was to be melted after it was to be beaten into the shape of the
- 15:29Menorah with one of the Candlestick holders straight up
- 15:35and then three on each side with a combination of seven places
- 15:41for them to have light. This was the only light in the
- 15:45entire Tabernacle, friends, and Jesus Christ is the light of the
- 15:50world and his stripes. We are healed and we see this
- 15:54solid piece of gold as representative of Jesus.
- 15:58We see the Holy Spirit in the seven spirits of God represented
- 16:04here, and we see that this is all pointing towards our Lord
- 16:11and our Savior and our King. This is deity, friends, and this
- 16:14is important to God, and He wanted them to understand holy
- 16:19reverence for this heavenly scene. 34 And the Candlestick
- 16:27shall be 4 bowls made like unto almonds, with their knots and
- 16:31their flowers. So it was like the almonds and
- 16:35the leaves and the flowers of that tree. 35 And there shall be
- 16:39a knop under the two branches of the same, and a knot under the
- 16:43two branches of the same, and a knot under the two branches of
- 16:46the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the
- 16:51Candlestick. So one giant Candlestick, and
- 16:54then three on each side of it, that butted and branched forth
- 17:01from that single tube. 36 Their knobs and their branches shall
- 17:06be of the same, and they shall be beaten work of pure gold. 37
- 17:11And you shall make the seven lamps of it, and they shall
- 17:14light the lamps of it, and they may give light over and against
- 17:18it. We see in Revelation, friends,
- 17:21he's talking about the seven golden candlesticks which are
- 17:24the churches. Friends, you see so much of the
- 17:27types and shadows and this symbolic here, this symbolism
- 17:32here in Exodus. What an amazing God we serve,
- 17:36that He is congruent all the way through His word, from Genesis
- 17:39to Revelation. Nothing added and nothing
- 17:42subtracted. It all points to our Lord, and
- 17:44our King, and our Boss Jesus Christ. 37 And you shall make
- 17:51the seven lamps of it, and they shall light the lamps of it, and
- 17:55they may give light over and against it. 38 In the tongues of
- 17:59it, and the snuff dishes of it there shall be of pure gold. 39
- 18:03Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it with all these
- 18:06vessels will end on. 40 And look that you make them after the
- 18:12pattern which was showed you in the mount.
- 18:16So here Moses is receiving from God all the measurements and the
- 18:20requirements for him to come and to have his Shekinah glory on
- 18:25this earth. And there was coming a time in a
- 18:28day after the second destruction by fire, when the earth is made
- 18:33new, that this cube of God is going to come down.
- 18:37The city of God, New Jerusalem, is going to come down to this
- 18:41earth and touch down, and God will come down with it and
- 18:45forever be here with us. And there's no need for light
- 18:49there because He is there with us.
- 18:51What an amazing God we serve. Hope you've been blessed by this
- 18:54amazing chapter in God's Word. I know I sure have.
- 18:58I'm praying for every single one of you and I love you.
- 19:01Let us pray. We love you, Father.
- 19:03We thank you for these words. We thank you for this time.
- 19:06We thank you that you are good. We thank you, God, for all the
- 19:09many blessings that you've already poured out.
- 19:12Thank you, Lord, for righteous leaders.
- 19:14Thank you, God for Israel. We pray for the peace of
- 19:18Jerusalem, Father. Thank you, Lord, that we can be
- 19:29attached unto you, that we can know you, these unnatural
- 19:32branches grafted into the natural.
- 19:35Thank you Father, and it's saying Jesus Christ, holy and
- 19:40precious and powerful name that I pray, Amen.
