- 0:00Spillar Ahmad Rahim Assalamu alaikum Rahmatullahi Barakatu,
- 0:03brothers and sisters, wherever you are tuning in from around
- 0:06the world as Adama Yamana Wyamakum, congratulations to you
- 0:10all on the auspicious occasion of Aid Allah al Akbar, aid al
- 0:15Ghadir. And we say, as we say every
- 0:17year, Al Hamdulillahi Lehi jalana when al Muta masakin Abu
- 0:21Alayat Sayed the Omolai emir Aliye Ali has Salaam and Allah
- 0:27Muhammad Ali Muhammad. And it's a great day and it's a
- 0:30day of joy and a day of happiness.
- 0:32A day where we celebrate together as a family, as a
- 0:35community and inshallah as a ummah soon to come because Shiat
- 0:39Ali Mansour. And I'll leave it as there for
- 0:41now, as Salaam Alaikum Ahmed. How?
- 0:52Are you doing? I'm.
- 0:55Good. Bro how are you?
- 0:58I am happy because I'm. Good, bro, I'm happy.
- 1:06I'm, I'm, I'm yeah. Look, every year we have the
- 1:11same conversation. Why Are you sure?
- 1:13No, I'm not gonna. Why Are you sure you know what
- 1:15it is? Yeah, Hamdullah, it's, it's that
- 1:17time of year where we, we reaffirm our identity, where
- 1:21we're proud unapologetically, unashamedly of being Shia, being
- 1:25followers of Miramot Manin for following the man who Allah said
- 1:31that upon his pub, the publicisation of his status and
- 1:37his Mukam, Allah perfected the religion.
- 1:39And in and of itself, that status that Miramot Manin holds
- 1:44on this event of Ghadir is why we are are convinced and we have
- 1:48conviction that he was and he remains and he will forever be
- 1:52known as the man who was known as Nasser Rasul.
- 1:56And he is the brother of Rasul. And without him we would be
- 1:59nothing. So Omar would not be here.
- 2:02So inshallah, today we have an incredible episode.
- 2:04We're not only going to be talking about the mukham of
- 2:07Miramar Manin Ali Salaam, we're not only going to be talking
- 2:10about what he means to us, the identity we hold, the
- 2:13misconceptions around him, but we're also going to be talking
- 2:16about some more specific talking and learning points about his
- 2:20ziara, about ziara to middleman and Najaf specifically, also
- 2:24about Ziyaat Amin Allah alayhis Salaam.
- 2:28So Insha Allah, it gives us great pride and honour to
- 2:31welcome back a dear friend and the Deer scholar Shah, most
- 2:35famous old Salaam. Alaikum Salam.
- 2:37How you do? My workout it's amazing to be
- 2:39back after Maghribai new studios, but it's like I love
- 2:44the new studio Al Hamdullah. It's my this is my favorite
- 2:47podcast after Progeny but. Progeny is our favorite after,
- 2:54but this is. This is it's good to be on the
- 2:56other side and it's also good to always see you guys be with you.
- 3:01And obviously on this special day, the day of Radir, the day
- 3:05where, as you mentioned, the religion was not only completed
- 3:08but perfected with the Amir Al Mummini, Salam Ali Ali, thank
- 3:11you for having me. You.
- 3:16Know this conversation is special because Imam Ali means
- 3:19the world to all of us here today and what what's beautiful
- 3:22is that I know you behind the scenes as well and you have
- 3:25immense love for Amir Al Mummini and so get ready it's going to
- 3:29be a phenomenal inshallah and before we begin Aslam Shah, if I
- 3:34can ask you know before the conversation you were talking
- 3:36about people they go to Iraq and they go to Sierra and some don't
- 3:40visit Najaf. Should we discuss it a little?
- 3:43It's very. Rare, but I I have had I have
- 3:47heard from certain people. I just want to correct one thing
- 3:50by the way, for the sake of this discussion.
- 3:54I'm, I'm no scholar and this is not me being humble or anything.
- 3:56I mean it with all the I'm, I'm not even close to being a
- 4:00scholar. So, so, so, so please don't
- 4:02introduce me as that. I'm just inshallah I'm a student
- 4:05of, of Elm, that's all. But with your point, yeah, I've
- 4:09heard people land in the airport in Nejif, get a car straight to
- 4:16Karbala, aside Karbala or whatever city they're from.
- 4:21And then on the way back, if they make it to Ziara of Imam
- 4:24Ali Ali Sanam or, you know, if, if, if it happens to be that
- 4:29they have time, they'll visit. Otherwise, some people have it
- 4:31is, it is. And I, I, I have met people that
- 4:35and I feel that it's, it's quite disrespectful.
- 4:38It is. You're neglecting the right of
- 4:41the Imam. There's a beautiful hadith which
- 4:45one of the companions of Emiran, one of the companions of Imam
- 4:48Masada Alihi Sanam comes to visit him and when he visits the
- 4:51Imam, the Imam asks him where did you come from?
- 4:53He says I came from Iraq. So the Imam tells him did you
- 4:56visit my grandfather Amiran Mumminin?
- 4:59So he said no, I didn't. So the Imam tells him if you had
- 5:04not been one of our followers, I would not have even looked at
- 5:07you. The fact that you then the Imam
- 5:11and I paraphrase the words of the Holy Imam, he says how can
- 5:13you neglect the Ziara of the one that is visited by the angels of
- 5:18Allah where 70,000 angels visit him before visiting his son
- 5:25Sayid Shahada Abdullah Al Hussein, as in these angels that
- 5:29we're always here go to Salong Hadith.
- 5:32The Imam says actually they go to Rasulullah first, then they
- 5:36go to the Nephs as you mentioned of Rasulullah and then they go
- 5:41to Imam Hussein. And what's unique about the
- 5:43Ziyar of Imran Salamullah Ali unlike any other ziara.
- 5:48There's many Ziara's attributed to Imam Ali Ali Salah Rashallah
- 5:50will go through some of them. Is that when you visit Emir al
- 5:55Mumminin, you start by saying assalamu alikeya Rasul Allah.
- 5:59I mean Allah Allah, you start by saying your Salaam upon Rasul
- 6:04Allah even that's why one of the most famous ziaras of as in
- 6:08physical Ziara of Emir Al Maminin is on the 28th of suffer
- 6:1228th of suffer is the shahada of the Prophet, the passing away of
- 6:15the Holy Prophet. But we're told go and visit Imam
- 6:17Ali Ali here, Abdul Salati Wasalam, because he is what he
- 6:21is enough. So it shows again the love that
- 6:24the that the followers of the helbait help for Imam Ali.
- 6:27Furthermore, it shows the love we have for us Allah, that even
- 6:30when we visit Imam Ali, we say Salam to us Allah before we say
- 6:33Salam to. That's unfathomable.
- 6:38Like it's, it's blasphemous. And you can't even begin to
- 6:41imagine the fact that there are these.
- 6:43I can't even, how can you? How can you say?
- 6:44Very rare. Very.
- 6:46Rare, I mean. Yeah, very, very, very, very.
- 6:48Come on. Man these people because they
- 6:50should be disowned honestly. Like it's that's unfathomable.
- 6:53I can't get my head around. That and you know that we don't
- 6:56have much hadiths about Mehbit and Emma as in to sleep
- 7:01overnight, overnight next to except if I'm not mistaken, so
- 7:06they could accept it in Najaf. Yeah, there's Thawab and
- 7:09actually just sleeping in the holy city of Najaf.
- 7:13Yeah, beyond that as well. You look in our the Wyatt we
- 7:16have in Kamazi alert. We have so many a hadith about
- 7:20the the the sheer amount of bounties that I lost $1.00
- 7:24showers upon what Manin who visit him the one who visits
- 7:27Amira Montmanin Arfin Bhakti with knowledge of his status and
- 7:32with conviction of him has his past since forgiven is equal to
- 7:36Hajj and Omrath. Can I ask specifically, for
- 7:39example, let's say this Hajj and Omrath, because of course these
- 7:42also these last few weeks and you know, we're in that period
- 7:44as well where of of Hajj and people.
- 7:47Completing just hard stop. How do we compare that side by
- 7:49side? Is it quite literally a
- 7:51mathematical understanding in terms of the amount of fawab?
- 7:55How does it work when he understands the art of Middle
- 7:58Mamanine in comparison to? Hajj Well there's a hadith
- 8:00attributed to I think to soft one his companions of one in
- 8:05Jamaal if I'm not mistaken where the Imam mentions this hadith
- 8:08that the one who visits Sabir al Mamin Arafan Bahaka knows of his
- 8:13rights. Then Allah subhanahu wata Allah
- 8:16will forgive his past sins and was beautiful his future sins.
- 8:21Then he says to him Allah Subhanahu wata Allah will send
- 8:2670,000 angels or in another hadith just angels to accompany
- 8:34him when he goes home. Then the hadith continues to say
- 8:37that if he gets sick the angels will come to visit him and if he
- 8:42was to pass away after the ZR of Emiram, the angels will perform
- 8:47his rituals of janazah. They'll attend his Janazah and
- 8:51then obviously the hadith's about Hajj and Umrah.
- 8:55Hey, it's not saying that the, the I don't want people to
- 8:59misunderstand this hadith to say that the Shia as say, you know,
- 9:02the ZR is better than Hajj. Hajj Zawajib is an obligation.
- 9:05Even though we have hadiths to say that the ZR of the Helbet to
- 9:08a certain extent is what? But hey, it's literally the
- 9:11reward the, the edger of you performing ZR of Imam Ali Ali
- 9:16Ali is equal to Hajj or equal to Amra or in this specific hadith,
- 9:24so long hadith, by the way, the Emma mentions, although one of
- 9:26the things that he says, he says that he will get that edger, the
- 9:30thaw up of 1000 martyrs. This, you know, we're not
- 9:36talking about 1 martyr. And you, you know, when you look
- 9:39at the, the ruwayat about the, the, the shaheed and his status
- 9:43and his maqam, especially a shaheed that, that that dies on
- 9:47the battlefield, a shaheed like Saeed Shahada Hamza, why he was
- 9:50called Saeed Shahada? The fact that, you know, his
- 9:53body is not washed. He's buried in stained in his
- 9:56blood. Allah Subhanawat Ala will
- 9:58resurrect him with his blood and then he will avenge his blood.
- 10:01You know, not including the fact that he doesn't go through
- 10:04Hesab, the visit of Imam Ali Ali Salaam.
- 10:08You physically going to Siara of Imam Ali Ali Salaam, you get the
- 10:12reward of 1000 Shahid even that. And sometimes by the way, I've
- 10:18heard this and I want to mention it.
- 10:19Sometimes you see 70 shaheed or sometimes you read a hadith or
- 10:23say 70 umrah, the reward of 70 Hajj.
- 10:27And another hadith says 100 and another hadith says 1000.
- 10:30And then I heard from someone who was saying this is nonsense
- 10:36and they said why is it? Why is it nonsense?
- 10:38He goes, look, one Haji say 70, another says 11 says 101 says
- 10:431000. There's a contradiction.
- 10:45So these must be fake. What he doesn't understand that
- 10:48one the Imam says 17. That number usually say
- 10:53sometimes you say bad no but no no I'll if sell him at sure in
- 10:581000 years you won't see him. I'm not literally saying in 1000
- 11:00after 1001 you'll see him. It's literally symbolic to say
- 11:04it's the reward. With this hadith the reward is
- 11:06so high it's more than 70 and another had he says more than
- 11:10100. It's just to show the greatness
- 11:12of the reward. It's not that Imam is
- 11:14contradicting himself. I got a bit.
- 11:18It's the. Love.
- 11:22Yeah, that's beautiful, man. The roads, the roads.
- 11:25Inshallah for those who haven't been, get the opportunity to go
- 11:28to Ziara and yeah, because but it's crazy if you go Iraq and
- 11:33you don't do the Ziara. Story We've been to Najaf
- 11:36together. And have we?
- 11:40Yes. We haven't.
- 11:42Got you. You must have gone our bind.
- 11:43We didn't go. We didn't go.
- 11:45No, no, no. The the.
- 11:47Yeah, we saw each other. Najaf.
- 11:48Yeah. The shrine.
- 11:49Hamdallah. No, there's one year we didn't
- 11:51get a chance to to travel to Najaf at the same time together,
- 11:53but we did the previous year anyway.
- 11:55But Hamdallah, we all know for those of us who of us who have
- 11:58been, being in Najaf is special like your, your soul.
- 12:03At least for me. If I say it feels like a weapon,
- 12:06you know what I mean. You're in.
- 12:07The 1000 Heavens. Yeah, Hamdallah.
- 12:09But Sheikh, you live in Najaf, at least from the majority of
- 12:13the year. And obviously you made that move
- 12:15a few years ago for, for studies.
- 12:17How does it compare or how have you seen your spirituality, your
- 12:22ill and just generally your your your mentality change since
- 12:27being in Najaf compared to being next to the shrine?
- 12:29Yeah. Sadly, this year I didn't have
- 12:31the opportunity to go other than being there on the 13th of
- 12:34Rajab. And then after after Rajab, I
- 12:39performed Umrah. I was there actually till the
- 12:4215th of Shaaban. And then I performed Amla and I
- 12:44was aiming to be back after Shahar Ramadan.
- 12:46But because of the certain circumstances, sadly I haven't,
- 12:49I haven't had the opportunity this year to be there by Sha
- 12:53Allah. I'm hoping that after Arbine and
- 12:56Sha Allah I can be there. Najaf, I think is, is, is the
- 12:59centre of, of, of Shia Islam and Shia thought, no doubt, not just
- 13:04because of the Hauser, not because just of the Grand
- 13:09Margeria being there, the Olama being there, but the fact that
- 13:13it's the resting place of Emir and mummy in Salaam Ali.
- 13:17I've had the honour of being in Najaf on most the important
- 13:22occasions. So for example, other than the
- 13:24Ayesha of Muharram being there in Arbain, being there in
- 13:29Shaban, being there on the 13th of Rajab, I've had the
- 13:32opportunity. But no doubt that that the best
- 13:34time I would say to be in Najaf is around this time the Ghadir.
- 13:39And we all know the greatness of Ghadir.
- 13:41Even when you look at Ghadir from a Quranic perspective and
- 13:44the fact that you even mentioned it completed a perfected
- 13:49religion, the announcement of Emir al Mumnin Salaam Alayhi and
- 13:52even when Mufasiri. And I was looking earlier this
- 13:54week as I was preparing for some majalis for the day of Ghadir
- 13:58the the bus. Yeah, you.
- 14:01And I was trying to look at the importance of delivering the
- 14:05message because when you look at the Quran, and this is maybe
- 14:08looking at tafsir of the Quran from the Quran.
- 14:11So Ratil Bakaram, and it says Dalekal Kitabola Rabefihuddin,
- 14:14Lil muttaqrin. It says who the muttaqrin are,
- 14:17who are the IT gives us different features, a ladina,
- 14:20your Menuna Bill Gray or your Cremona salad or your tunnel
- 14:24zakat. Then it says well, ladina on
- 14:27Zillah Alaik, so there's few a few places you need to reach for
- 14:32you to become a muttappi. You believe in the unseen rape,
- 14:35you perform Salah, you give from what Allah has given you
- 14:39sustenance. And then it says those that
- 14:42believe with what with what was revealed on Zillah Alaik.
- 14:45Then when you look at the verse, yeah, you have rasul belle Mao
- 14:50UN Zillah alaikum Rabik. This verse mufasarin say that
- 14:55this is the only time where Allah subhanahu wata Allah uses
- 15:00the as in the imperative singular form to order the Holy
- 15:10Prophet to do something in this manner.
- 15:12No other verse does Beller come does you beleron eblag Beller
- 15:19but to in the as an order. This is the only verse, so much
- 15:26so that he says, if you don't deliver this message, it's as if
- 15:31you haven't conveyed this message.
- 15:32Because if I say to you, Ahmed said Ali, please deliver this.
- 15:38If you don't deliver it, it means you haven't delivered it.
- 15:41Well, what if I say to you deliver this?
- 15:44But if you don't deliver it, all your other things that I've
- 15:47asked you for, all of them become null, All of them come
- 15:50pointless. And that's why the the, the,
- 15:53the, the, the, the verse doesn't say yeah, Ayohan Nabi says yeah,
- 15:57Ayohar Rasool Rasool comes from what Rasallah that you're a
- 16:00messenger. And this message is so important
- 16:03that I'm going to do the Segatul Amber fell.
- 16:07Now, Bellek, not just say no, no, it must be in a way where
- 16:12it's clear, where it's complete, where it's full.
- 16:15A lot of Hanatali obviously in other verses of the Quran says
- 16:18wonder, warn, say what all, But he doesn't ask the Holy Prophet
- 16:24in this manner. And this is the only verse which
- 16:27shows you the importance of Radir when it comes to Ali.
- 16:30And why do I bring this? Just understanding that Allah
- 16:34Subhanahu water Allah gives this much attention to the leadership
- 16:38of Imam Ali Ali Salaam will make you understand the importance of
- 16:42the visitation of Imam Ali Ali Salam.
- 16:46Sounds beautiful, beautiful and it's nice we're speaking about
- 16:49this now because when you think about it, people always ask, you
- 16:53know, we, we make the status of Amir al Mumni is so high and
- 16:58it's just man made and it's just something within the Shia.
- 17:00I know we this is all Quranically backed and that's
- 17:03what's beautiful about Gadir and it shows the the the continuing
- 17:07relationship between prophethood and.
- 17:09Imama. So you have, for example, what's
- 17:14what's what's that first Islam Medina and it's and for those
- 17:25who don't understand, what does this verse mean?
- 17:29Haji Mustafa. And I asked this why?
- 17:30Because I come online and I read people every year they speak
- 17:34about idol Radir. She has make up their own 8.
- 17:37Or for example, you know, the Prophet was just saying, you
- 17:41know, Emir alumni, he's my friend, you'd be his friend as
- 17:43well. But there's a difference here.
- 17:45There's context, there's history, there's there's no
- 17:47denying that the event took place and you have 10s of
- 17:50thousands of sahaba. You have as it happened during
- 17:53the farewell Hajj of Rasunullah Alayhi.
- 17:56And on top of all of that, there was people who were giving their
- 18:00bear and it's there. And many prominent figures in
- 18:03Islamic history gave bayat to Emira Mumini Ali as Salam.
- 18:06But why do people deny it? Why do they say it's?
- 18:09It's nothing, something small. And but we say, well, Ola and
- 18:14teya Ali, lemurafel, lemurafel muna minbadi, where the Prophet
- 18:20tells Imam Ali, if it wasn't for you, O Ali, we would not be able
- 18:25to distinguish believers, Ali. We would not know who the Munin
- 18:29are. Yeah.
- 18:30And you are the source of understanding what a mutman is.
- 18:34That's why you know he is Emir al Mutmani.
- 18:36And that's why in another, you can never end with in another
- 18:41hadith, they say every verse that says, yeah, ayuh, ladina
- 18:45amanu. And there's close to 100 any
- 18:48verse that says, oh, you who believe.
- 18:50And then it says, oh, you who believe do such and such.
- 18:53Oh, you who believe have such and such characteristics, it
- 18:57gives you what the, because when it's saying, oh, you who
- 18:59believe, it's going to give you an order or to say you must have
- 19:02this characteristic to be a Mormon.
- 19:04There's a hadith that says Imam Ali not only has all the
- 19:08features in these verses, but he is the leader of everyone that
- 19:13has these features. That's the status of Imam Ali,
- 19:16Ali, Islam. And therefore for people to come
- 19:19forward and deny, I think obviously for political reasons,
- 19:22because of what happened after the martyrdom of Rasulullah
- 19:25sallallahu alaihi wasallam, and the fact that power had to be
- 19:30shifted away from the House of Hashem, That's the truth.
- 19:34And the way they did that was to literally try and deny Ghadir.
- 19:40And that's why I, if I'm not mistaken, there's a, there's a
- 19:43hadith attributed to our imams that says, you know, why is
- 19:49there an emphasis on Ashura? Why do Shias have an emphasis on
- 19:55Ashura? And the Imam responds, We
- 19:57emphasize Ashura so you don't forget it, just like you forgot
- 20:01Radir Allah. Wow.
- 20:05You forgot Radir, you neglected Radir.
- 20:06So now there's an extra emphasis on Ashura and they that's why
- 20:10they say how many the poems come forward.
- 20:13I've heard so many that say how many days before from the hand
- 20:17being risen to the head of the sun being risen on a spear and
- 20:22it literally 11th if we say 11th after Hydra or 10th after Hydra,
- 20:27the prophet raises the hand of Emir and what we need to say men
- 20:29Kuntu, Mullah, Fahad, Ali and Mullah.
- 20:31And then 50 years later it's the head of his son, the grandson of
- 20:35the prophet raised on a spear. And I think for those that doubt
- 20:39Radir, you literally have to look at the events leading up to
- 20:44Ashura and then go back through that timeline and ask why?
- 20:48Why did this happen? Radir is not something that is
- 20:53not mentioned in history books. The interpretation of Radir is
- 20:58going to be matching, just like today.
- 21:01The news will tell you what's happening.
- 21:04They're not making fake news. If you go to certain websites,
- 21:07they'll tell you this happened, this happened, this happened.
- 21:09But how they're interpreting the news, they've got different
- 21:12lenses on it. It's not objective, it's rather
- 21:16subjective and the same. No one can deny it.
- 21:19I saw, I don't know if it was a podcast or a little clip.
- 21:22I don't, I'm sure if you've seen it recently of someone was
- 21:24saying Imam Ali's the most knowledgeable, Imam Ali's this,
- 21:26Imam Ali's this. He's praising all the but you
- 21:29know, he couldn't be the successor.
- 21:30You know what he says? He says, He says he's the most
- 21:34righteous accent. He says, but just because you're
- 21:37the most righteous doesn't mean you have to be the leader.
- 21:40And try and explain to me what is the number one characteristic
- 21:43that you would want in a leader is righteousness.
- 21:46Righteousness implies Adam, it implies mercy, it implies
- 21:49justice, it implies, you know, qualification, it implies
- 21:52knowledge. Righteousness summarizes all of
- 21:55this. You're telling me a minimum of
- 21:56money is the most right. You accept it.
- 21:58OK, call us. And then just the guts to say
- 22:01it's confusing. It's confusing.
- 22:03Imagine having telling to tell your children matalin that
- 22:07you're the best one out of my children, but I'm going to pick
- 22:11someone else's son because just because you're the best, it
- 22:13doesn't mean I should pick Q2 for a certain role if I'm the
- 22:17best, why are you not picking me?
- 22:18It's. Counterproductive all that.
- 22:19Like there's we can go, so. What's the point of even he's?
- 22:22Saying he says, for example, he was the most spiritual.
- 22:26This is nothing you say this is the most spiritual or for
- 22:29example he has the highest level of Iman amongst all the
- 22:32companions which is of course unanimously accepted.
- 22:34Accepted like you said how you interpret it just.
- 22:36But just because you have Iman, doesn't that mean OK So who if
- 22:40not after the Sol Allah? So you have someone who's got
- 22:43medium level Iman or low level. How do you pick?
- 22:45Any what you know, if you're saying 1400 years later, for
- 22:49example, the Pakistani share living in the West 1400 years
- 22:52later can it's determined that this companion was number one in
- 22:56spirituality and righteousness. That means the people then knew
- 22:59it, the historians and the reporters knew it such that
- 23:01reached us today. And you're telling me that if
- 23:04Iman and righteousness is not what your criteria is, then what
- 23:07is because there's Allah determines succession by Shura,
- 23:11because you know, we we believe that this is not a man made
- 23:13religion, Therefore why should its succession be man made?
- 23:17It just it doesn't make sense. Amir Amir actually tells one of
- 23:19them, he says, if you're going to speak about Shura, if you've
- 23:25selected your leader as Shura, then why was I not part of the
- 23:28candidates? And if you, if this was your
- 23:32case or if your case was about Orba, if your case is about
- 23:37who's closer to the prophet Ferman Olamini, who's closer to
- 23:41the Holy Prophet than me? I read a beautiful hadith again,
- 23:45the, the, the, the, the for that I love Imam Ali.
- 23:48Don't finish where someone comes to.
- 23:49I believe I'll fix them up. And he says to him, Yebna
- 23:52Rasulullah Limada, why is your grandfather, the Holy Prophet,
- 23:58called Abel Qasim? So the Imam tells him he had a
- 24:03son who was called Qasim and he died.
- 24:05So he was called Abel Qasim, the companions, the Shia.
- 24:09He says, Yebna Rasulullah, do you see me as one of your
- 24:14followers? So the Imam Simal says yes.
- 24:18He says then give me a deeper answer.
- 24:20Don't give me a this answers for maybe someone else, I'm one of
- 24:24your followers, give me a deeper answer.
- 24:25Zidney AB not Rasulullah, give me more.
- 24:28He says well Imam tells him have you heard of the hadith that Ali
- 24:34that Muhammad sallallallahu alaihi wasalamu Ali, Abu Ali
- 24:37Hadihil Ummah are the fathers of this ummah.
- 24:40So the companion says yes, I've heard this.
- 24:43So the Imam tells him in the time of Rasulullah and Imam Ali,
- 24:47this fatherhood, this Abu, does it encompass Imam Ali as in
- 24:53Rasulullah? If he's the father, does it
- 24:55encompass Imam Ali as also his son?
- 24:58He says yes, of course he's also encompassed under that Abu of
- 25:04Rasulullah tells him Ali Qasim when NAR and therefore
- 25:10Rasulullah became abul Qasim, the one that divides and that's
- 25:14why it's called by the way, this hadith finishes here, but I wish
- 25:20this companion would have said Sydney.
- 25:27Yeah. So yeah, these these this by the
- 25:30way, most of these hadiths are are narrated by both schools,
- 25:33but it's just how they're interpreted.
- 25:36Can I ask you a question? Sorry, I've even said I wanted
- 25:39to ask. So look, you yomak mantodinukom,
- 25:41OK? We know that this is the primary
- 25:43verse with reference to Ida Lokhadil.
- 25:47Is it? And definitively, because there
- 25:49perhaps people watching who are researching, either they're
- 25:52Shiite or they want more conviction or they're not Shiite
- 25:54and they're doing research. Is it the most definitive
- 25:57argument Quranically in terms of proof of Qadir?
- 26:01And was it revealed at the point of Qadir?
- 26:03And how do we, for example, understand this verse in
- 26:06comparison to other Muslims? There's, there's obviously 2
- 26:09verses that are associated with Qadir and Surat al Maadiyah
- 26:18Allah. And there's obviously Aliyomu,
- 26:22Akmatullah kumti Nakum, these two verses Mufasarin, the
- 26:27majority, except those that have certain bold hatred of Imam Ali.
- 26:32You know, I've seen, and I was discussing this with a fellow
- 26:36student. I've seen in certain books, they
- 26:38say this verse was about Imam Ali Ali Salam.
- 26:43Yet my heart, the the, the scholarsies, my heart is not at
- 26:50ease to praise Ali. Therefore I think it's not about
- 26:53Ali. So his reasoning to say that
- 26:56this verse is not about Ali, he doesn't give Allah because it
- 26:59was revealed about this companion or it was different
- 27:02time and he could give any other.
- 27:04He goes, my heart's not at ease. Mamerta, honey, I don't feel
- 27:08comfortable praising Ali. And for that reason, I'm going
- 27:11to say it's not about Imam Ali. So I think if someone really
- 27:14wants to go and, and and literally research into the
- 27:19event of Radir, then yes, definitely these two verses as
- 27:23well as the verse of Ulaya chapter 5, verse 55 in this
- 27:33verse is also combined together, I think.
- 27:37And the verse of the verse of we have even, you know, the verse
- 27:43Ammeta say Alun and in Naber al Adim, the Naber al Adim who I
- 27:47am, you know, there's there's narrations that say over 300
- 27:53verses were revealed about Imam Ali Ali Salaam, 300 verses
- 27:58directly, not maybe by name. Obviously there's 300 verses,
- 28:03the verse about Jairol Baria in the Ladino Aminos Alihad Udaicom
- 28:08Jairol Baria. So the 97 of the Quran Surat al
- 28:12Bayina, so I don't know the number Surat al Bayina, the last
- 28:15verse they they say when this verse was revealed and this is
- 28:19mentioned by Saudi Indora El Mentor which is a Sunni tafsir
- 28:23book. They say when this verse was
- 28:25revealed, Rasulullah called the mamali and said Jabrail just
- 28:27revealed a verse to me because we believe that every time
- 28:32Rasulullah revealed received revelation verses from the
- 28:36Quran, he would dictate it to Imam Ali and Imam Ali would
- 28:39learn it. That's why Imam Ali, Ali, Islam.
- 28:41There's another again, one story release to another.
- 28:43They say when he became the Wali of Kufa, Sallah Arbaena, Yeoman
- 28:50Salah Kalak, I think or or one of the verses, so I don't know
- 28:59which Surah, but he recited the same Surah in Salat al Fajr
- 29:03every day. He would recite Surat al Hamd
- 29:06and the Surat al Allah, Surat al Allah, Surat al Fatiha and Surat
- 29:10al Allah for 40 days every day the same sora.
- 29:13So the people in Kufa, they said Ali doesn't know the Quran
- 29:18because he's reading the same sora.
- 29:19Imagine someone reading the same sora.
- 29:21Imam Ali heard this. He got on the pulpit.
- 29:23He said, not only do I know the full Quran, I know about every
- 29:27single verse. Then he paused.
- 29:29He said no, no, no, I know about every single letter, when it was
- 29:33revealed, how it was revealed, about whom it was revealed and
- 29:37at what time it was revealed. Yeah, the location, the time,
- 29:40the error. Every letter asked me about it.
- 29:43Saluni, Saluni. That's how much I know the Quran
- 29:47and therefore when we look at the the this Hyrule barrier,
- 29:51they say Rasulullah said to Imam Ali.
- 29:53That's why some people come forward and say the word Shia
- 29:55came after Rasulullah. Again in this tafsir, if I'm not
- 29:59mistaken, Tafsir Babari, he mentions Rasulullah sallallahu
- 30:04Ali. Ali Wasallam looked at Ali and
- 30:06said, yeah, Ali, the best of creation home and tawa Shia took
- 30:12the word Shia was used. You and your Shia are Khairul
- 30:16Baria. Jabrabna Abdullah Al Ansari has
- 30:18a comment commentary on this. He says after this verse was
- 30:22revealed, every time Imam Ali came into a gathering where we
- 30:25were sitting, we said ETA oja Akhairul Baria.
- 30:29It became one of his titles Khairul Baria.
- 30:31And therefore all these verses in the Quran.
- 30:33And then obviously it's just, I mean, we just fix your lungs on
- 30:37your glasses when you when you want to look at things, stop
- 30:40being subjective and just just a bit, just a bit be objective.
- 30:43So not too much, just a bit. And it's your research truth.
- 30:47You know, that's actually a mad. You know that story where people
- 30:49were denying that Ali knew the Quran?
- 30:51When? Yeah, yeah, because.
- 30:52They would hear from Rasulullah himself saying the Quran and the
- 30:57Quran is with Ali and you know, just before he spoke about that
- 31:01both again, Rasul Allah, what did he say?
- 31:03But that's a crazy word, yeah. Proper age is.
- 31:08It's specifically for these nawazud anywhere Rasul Allah, he
- 31:12says. You know that famous hadith.
- 31:14None will love you except a believer.
- 31:16None will hate you except a. Hippocrate or or son of a
- 31:19legitimate. One yeah, it goes to show the
- 31:21level. Only the time of Rasul Allah.
- 31:24Why would the Prophet mention it?
- 31:25There's hadith not in our books in other schools of thought.
- 31:33Let's say if the companions ever doubted that their children were
- 31:38illegitimate, they would take their children in front of Imam
- 31:43Ali and they would ask him, do you love that man or do you hate
- 31:47him? If he, the child says I love
- 31:50him, then they know that he's not an illegitimate son.
- 31:53If he says I hate him, they would start questioning the son
- 31:58of law. He's not in our books manner.
- 31:59Wow. Imagine the extent in the in his
- 32:02time. Lola Ali.
- 32:06And then you come and tell me that's this question marks over
- 32:10why you know he's the most righteous, the most spiritual.
- 32:15And then you question why it's not enough for him to be the
- 32:18successor of. Try to deep it.
- 32:24No, no, it's crazy. It's absolutely insane.
- 32:26And by the way, I think everything that we, we, we know
- 32:29about Imam Ali, I don't think we, we, we know the, we've had
- 32:32the, the real in depth knowledge of knowing Imam Ali.
- 32:35I believe it was Salman and Abadar, both of them looking at
- 32:40Imam Ali Ali Salaam in and the way of admiring him.
- 32:47And the Prophet looked at Abadar and said, oh, about that.
- 32:52If you knew what was going through the mind of Salman about
- 32:57his admiration for Imam Ali, you think he's doing shirk?
- 33:03Imagine how Salman saw Imam Ali Ali Salam and what status he saw
- 33:07Imam Ali Ali Salam. That's why I think it's
- 33:10important also to add that you mentioned as well to have matter
- 33:14of the Imam. And this is also I think goes
- 33:16back to knowing the the purpose of Ziara, knowing the meaning of
- 33:22Ziara. What does it because Ziara
- 33:23obviously means to visit, physically visit sometimes, to
- 33:27know the because we all know the rewards of the Siara.
- 33:31We're going towards the gateway of excellence.
- 33:33We're going towards the one that was the self of the Prophet, the
- 33:36one that was the son-in-law of the Prophet that married the
- 33:39daughter of the Holy Prophet, that became the father of the
- 33:41masters of the youth of Paradise.
- 33:43That became the one that was the gate to the city of knowledge,
- 33:46the doorway to the wisdom of Rasulullah, The one that Imam al
- 33:50Hassan. Again this is mentioned by
- 33:51Sheikh al Mufid. He says the one that when he
- 33:53entered the battlefield he had Jabrail and Mikhail standing by
- 33:57him. The one that was Karrad, the one
- 33:59that was Haider, The one that always came back to VV for
- 34:03Islam. The one that carried the door of
- 34:04Haibar. The one that Rasulullah
- 34:06sallallahu alaihi wasallam said Darbatu Aliyun Avalman Ebadita
- 34:11Kalein. The strike of Ali is worth more
- 34:14than the the the worship of all Thakalain, Hei, Kalein and Jin
- 34:19from that day all the way till the day of judgement.
- 34:23How can one strike be what all of this the one that sacrificed
- 34:26everything, the one that only By the way, my favorite part I
- 34:31would say about the life of Imam Ali is that he never ever
- 34:35claimed victory, never in his life after killing the 35 that
- 34:42he killed in Bedder, 70 were killed in Bedder, 35 were killed
- 34:45by him. So much so that Ibn AB al Hadid
- 34:48al Mortezidi, who writes a sharah of Nahjil Balaga says on
- 34:51the day of Beddar, 35 were killed by Imam Ali and the other
- 34:5535 were probably killed by angels.
- 34:57He doesn't even give credit to the Muslims.
- 35:00The one that protected the prophet and offered and to a
- 35:03certain extent that was victory for Islam because they wanted to
- 35:05kill Rasulullah, so he saved him.
- 35:07The one that was participating in the battle of of Khandak and
- 35:13killed Amar of Nateerud al Hamari, the one that carried the
- 35:15door of Khybar, He never ever after the victory said I've
- 35:19claimed victory. Now when did Ali claim victory?
- 35:22For the moment of. Death.
- 35:24The only time this man ever claimed victory in his life was
- 35:29when he was struck and Salah, when he achieved Shihadeh.
- 35:34That's when he said fustu. That's the only time, he said
- 35:37now I'm victorious. Fustu.
- 35:38Arabicabe Not German, not Al Safin, not at Narawan.
- 35:42The only time he said I'm really now victorious first to and
- 35:46that's why I've always said on the number show me a different
- 35:50path, just like Kumaili Binziad. Kumaili Binziad by the way would
- 35:54asked by if I'm not mistaken he was killed by a had judge to
- 35:59leave Imam Ali and Kumaili said you know what, yeah, I will, but
- 36:02on one condition. Show me a better path.
- 36:07I repeat the same words. Show me a better path than Ali
- 36:11and I'm willing to put my hands up.
- 36:12There is no better path than the path of Emir Al Muni Salam Ali.
- 36:18Shahna, I think a good opportunity to to kind of move
- 36:22the discussion further with your permission.
- 36:25I will. Grab a copy.
- 36:27I need 2 copies so I'll pass one to say Ali as well please if you
- 36:31don't. Just as a whole in our hand we
- 36:34are holding this book. Can I get a close up?
- 36:37Thank you very much. This is a book the trustee of
- 36:40Allah spiritual journey through Zyat.
- 36:42I mean Allah by of course Aldea Sheikh Mustafali Musaud.
- 36:46Grab a copy from Lujan Publications on Amazon on and
- 36:50they can contact Lujan through. There's, there's a link here,
- 36:54there's a link I think that's up on the, on the, on their page as
- 36:56well with the, with the book you can order.
- 36:59Alhamdulillah, we, we, we have distributed quite a big number
- 37:04of copies worldwide. The, these books in Hamdallah
- 37:07have reached many of the centres that I've recited that in North
- 37:11America. Al Hamdallah was also introduced
- 37:13to Sheikh Mateen and Sheikh Saeed Kulini recently and I
- 37:17shout out to their to their great initiative, Al Hamdulai.
- 37:20We managed to get some books over to them to send to the
- 37:23people that are needed. Need this type of book because
- 37:28again, the, the the book, inshallah I won't speak too much
- 37:32of it was I did start writing it when I was in Najaf and I wrote
- 37:39it as a, as a series of lectures for Ramadan.
- 37:45This is something that again, you brought up Najaf earlier.
- 37:48This is something that I always miss and that was in every
- 37:52morning and most evenings. I had the honor and the
- 37:56privilege of standing next to one of the doors of Imam Ali Ali
- 37:59Salaam to the very hand. I'd pick the same do always.
- 38:04And I'd stand there and I'd take my phone out and I would read
- 38:07the Sierra Salaam Alaika. I mean a live here the Salaam
- 38:16Alaika Amir. I would read the Siara.
- 38:47Because the ziara is very unique, unlike ziaret, because
- 38:51you know, it's one of the most authentic ziareas we have.
- 38:53I would say from my very basic research, I, I spent maybe 2
- 38:58years writing this book and I, I decided once the notes started
- 39:02getting more, I was like this, someone from my teachers
- 39:05recommended that maybe why don't you think about writing a book?
- 39:08Is there a book in English on ziaret?
- 39:09I mean Allah, I checked, there's nothing, there's not even an
- 39:12article on ziaret. I mean, Allah, there's just a
- 39:14translation and even that I redone, I didn't depend on a
- 39:17translation that was already online.
- 39:19I read on the translation of every word Hamdullah with, with
- 39:22with the team that I had editing the, the, the book.
- 39:26The Ziara of I mean, Allah is very unique because one, the
- 39:29narrator of the Ziara is who is Imam Zain al Habdi al Salam.
- 39:33So the the style of the Imam, which is style of what Saifa
- 39:37Sajadiya is found in this Ziara because Ziara Tuare is also one,
- 39:45if not first, second, yeah, in between, between Ziara Tuara and
- 39:48Amin Allah, they'd be the most reliable.
- 39:51Zarath Ashwara is a different style.
- 39:54This is I divided it shallow if you, if you and these copies are
- 39:58for you. By the way, I divided it into 3
- 40:01sections into Salaam supplication.
- 40:05Salaam supplication which I called the supplication the
- 40:08building of a character. And then the munajat, so the the
- 40:14Salaam is obviously what I just recited.
- 40:15Just you speaking to the Imam Salaam Alayka.
- 40:17I mean, and then it turns into a dua, which is very every Sierra
- 40:24has dua, even the art Asura Allah Muhammad Ali Muhammad as
- 40:29well. And you know, the school of the
- 40:31Elbeit is so unique that we have supplications that not only are
- 40:37our ziaras other than our duas, I'm talking about Ziaras
- 40:40specifically. Not only are they salams to the
- 40:42imams and showing you the greatness of the imam and the
- 40:45merits of the Imam, they're also a way of to hate.
- 40:48They're also a way of supplicating to Allah, subhanahu
- 40:51to Allah. They're also a way to fixing
- 40:53your mental state. Because the second part the dua
- 40:58Allahu mafaja and nefsi mutman innatembekadaric
- 41:03raviatambekadvaic Ek mohabbat al safwati auliya Ek mahboobatan fi
- 41:13arduke wasama Ek saberatan Alan zuli Bala Ek Shah keratan le
- 41:19fawad al Ek da kerat al Ek mushtaqatan, and so on and so
- 41:26forth. The Imam, by the way, if I'm not
- 41:28mistaken, he mentions 12 points in the second section.
- 41:32And Allah, I remember this, I would read and this is what
- 41:36really pushed me because I was like, wow, we have this.
- 41:40And it's the it's the style of Ma'am Sajad where he says Allah
- 41:42hum. Just this one line.
- 41:44If we pause because I don't want to give, I want people to get
- 41:47the book inshallah. Just this one line, Allah hum
- 41:50Fajr and nefsi. And that was I, I this line,
- 41:59this particular line, Voila, sometimes I would read it, that
- 42:05same line. I would read it and read it
- 42:07again to to a certain extent that I would realise that I'm
- 42:11reading the same line for over 10 minutes.
- 42:14Why? Because I kept telling myself
- 42:17I'm saying to Allah, because it changes from from Salaam to now
- 42:21Allah. And now I'm speaking to Allah,
- 42:23Allah. And I would say, but I'm not.
- 42:31I had my family here, I was alone.
- 42:34As much as it's amazing to live in Najaf, it's you face quite a
- 42:38lot of hardship. Simple things that we're used to
- 42:41in life. What do they call it?
- 42:43Modern. No, no.
- 42:45Modern world, Third world problem, Third world problem.
- 42:49Simple things that I take for first world problems, First
- 42:52world problem. Simple things that I would take
- 42:55for granted, like drinking water.
- 42:57That simple. Well, now I was there and I was,
- 43:00I was struggling, especially the family part.
- 43:03So I would read that 100 times and I would say, but I'm not,
- 43:08I'm saying Allahu. Furthermore, not only do I want,
- 43:16I want to be satisfied. And another line was like, so I
- 43:27found every line so mesmerizing, yet I was like, I'm not at this
- 43:33stage in my life. Why am I even reading this?
- 43:36And that's why I would say sometimes I would repeat this
- 43:38and then after this section which we you ask Allah for 12
- 43:41things, Mushtaqat and Allah farhati lekha Ek muteza widdit
- 43:46and taqwa, so on and so forth until ushei musteneten bisuneni
- 43:51olia Ek my son of life. I want it to be the same as your
- 43:54Olia. I want to be mufarak from the of
- 44:01your enemies mesh rule 10 and this Oh my God, measure rule 10
- 44:07Anil dunya not and I would say to myself, I say meshule 10 fid
- 44:13dunya. When I read this line at the
- 44:16shrine of Imam Ali, I would say stop.
- 44:18I'd speak to myself. I say no inter meshul fid dunya,
- 44:21not anedunya. Don't lie to yourself.
- 44:24Mejrule at an anedunya with what Behamdique, with an aaic, with
- 44:30your praise, with your gratitude.
- 44:33After this part, it turns into the munajat part.
- 44:36And munajat obviously comes from the word nedwar, where you
- 44:39you're whispering. When do you whisper to someone?
- 44:42You whisper to someone when you're so close to them, where
- 44:45you don't have to shout, you don't have to raise your voice
- 44:47because they're so close. You can whisper allahumma
- 44:49ennakulubel mohmetina ileikawala wasubula raghabina ileika shara
- 44:55Washington Alam El casadina ileikawala with EDA tila arafina
- 45:00ileika faza was swatted daina ileika saida, which is the
- 45:05longest part, by the way, the longest part, if you were to put
- 45:08them in three sections, the longest part is the munajatpa.
- 45:11And then at the end we like every Sierra.
- 45:15After all of this, it's as if Allah says what do you want?
- 45:19What's what's, what's your aim? She treated that you say.
- 45:23And this is found in Zyarata Ashura Allahu Malik al Hamd
- 45:26Hamdu Shah Karina Allah Musabi and also found in Zyarata Amin
- 45:30Allah wajmah bini. All you're saying all I want.
- 45:34After I've done the Salaam of Emir and mumminin, I've asked
- 45:36for ultimate nan, I've asked for all of this, I've done the najwa
- 45:39with you, Wajmah bini wabaina olia E.
- 45:43That I think needs to be the aim of every Shia and maybe this
- 45:48Radir, we can ask for this door. I want you to unite me with my
- 45:54olia wajmabeni wabena oliai. So whether it's in this world
- 45:59with the Imam of our time or whether it's in the hereafter.
- 46:04But it doesn't finish there, says Tawasul is also on Bahati,
- 46:08Muhammad or Fatima, while Hassani while Hussein.
- 46:14And therefore I think I found the identity of a Shia in the
- 46:21Sierra. And I, I, I, I, I, I speak about
- 46:25it with passion because I realized what gave me the
- 46:29strength, I think to maybe have that Atmanan and have that
- 46:34tranquility and peace because no one's going to deny there's
- 46:39always ups and downs. Before you came, Ahmed, you were
- 46:42saying, you know, you sometimes it's one of those days you
- 46:45always have those ups and downs. Because I think if you, if you
- 46:48practice, not only trying to achieve at Manan, because there,
- 46:54there will be days that where you'll say, you know what,
- 46:56today's not a day where I feel at Manan, but if you just always
- 47:01practice that and the prescription of practicing that
- 47:05is found in these doors and these Yanas.
- 47:07And again, that's why I say I'm a Shia because of doors and
- 47:11Sianas. If there's any other school that
- 47:13can provide words like this, that can bring tranquility into
- 47:17my heart, where again Tohed Tohede is found is central.
- 47:21And you speak to Allah, son on that.
- 47:28On that notion of Dohede, I just want to read a passage from your
- 47:31prologue for those at home. So for for you guys, you can get
- 47:34an understanding as to what some of the inspiration behind this
- 47:38was. Sheikh wrote Ioffer this book as
- 47:41a companion for seekers who wish to draw nearer to the last one
- 47:44or to Allah through the words of Zyat Amin Allah.
- 47:46For me, Amira Mahmanin, Imam Ali Ali Salaam has long been more
- 47:50than a distant exemplar. He's a living moral presence, a
- 47:53guide and a father figure whose voice accompanies my days.
- 47:57This is not only because I've made a habit of reciting Zyad
- 47:59that mean a lot every day, but also because I return again and
- 48:03again to his sermons, letters and sayings and natured Balaga
- 48:07and the wider corpus of transmitted hadith works.
- 48:09In times of shadow, I have found that his words kindle light.
- 48:13In moments of failure, they rekindled resolve.
- 48:16I think that is beautiful as also extremes.
- 48:19It's so well written and for knowing you for so many years,
- 48:22you know, Mashallah, you know, I'm not surprised that you wrote
- 48:25just in this small passage, the amount of depth and substance
- 48:29there is. I can't wait to to really get
- 48:30stuck into it. And Shala, I'm looking forward
- 48:32to it. I didn't want to ask a specific
- 48:34question though. Onsiat I mean, Allah, do you
- 48:37think that this is something which has the ability to
- 48:42transform our understanding of Willaya?
- 48:45And do you feel like our understanding of Willaya found
- 48:48within the Western Shia world, specifically the way we perceive
- 48:52a minimum money, the way we speak about him, the way he's
- 48:54spoken about Ammanabel, and so on and so forth, can be
- 48:57transformed through a great, great and deep understanding of
- 49:00Zyat Amin Allah? Before I answer your question I
- 49:04just want to mention that you know my love for Zyat Amin
- 49:08Allah. I know I said it started in when
- 49:11I started reciting it but really truly and I think everyone can
- 49:14relate to this in one way or the other, was after every Salat
- 49:18Maghrib and Bashar I saw, my grandmother saw my father's
- 49:24mother who is was born and raised in Najaf.
- 49:29But she did not go to school, she couldn't she could not read
- 49:32and write. Most the elderly generation were
- 49:37like that, the elders. So her father would not let her
- 49:40go to school. It wasn't that something that it
- 49:43was bad cultural either way. After every Magar ban Asha, she
- 49:47read Ziyarata Ashura and Ziyarata Amin Allah by memory,
- 49:52by memory. And in some instances I hold
- 49:55her. So I don't know, I don't
- 49:56remember was she or not, she would hold the Sibha.
- 50:00So I'm guessing, you know, there are parts in Ziyarata Ashura
- 50:02where you had to do 100 times. She actually done them 100
- 50:05times. And that's where I thought when
- 50:08I came back to Ziyarata Amin Allah and I tried memorizing
- 50:10yes, shall I memorize most of it?
- 50:13I thought, wow, to do that and I'm sure and and that I think
- 50:19played a huge role. Even though I was young, I was
- 50:22listening and watching her do that.
- 50:24It played a huge role for me to fall in love course 20 years
- 50:28later for the Ziara and that now coming to answer your question,
- 50:33I think to understand the the position of wilaya, definitely
- 50:39this Ziara. It's just the first paragraph
- 50:42which I says introduces Imam Ali as Amin of Allah, the trustee of
- 50:47Allah, which is the title of the book and the Hajjah of Allah.
- 50:51So you you get unlike maybe Ziara tawarith where you say
- 50:55Salaam alaikum, he doesn't introduce Imam Ali through
- 51:00someone else introduces Imam Ali directly through him.
- 51:03He's the Amin of Allah, he's the Hajj of Allah.
- 51:06He's Emir al Mumminin Salaam alaikum.
- 51:08Then it goes into the steps of why he, in my opinion, why he is
- 51:13this a shadow anaka jihad to fill a haka jihad.
- 51:17You strived in the way. Again, this is not just striving
- 51:19on the battlefield. Jihad is not just a battlefield.
- 51:24Your work, your amel was according to what the Kitab of
- 51:27Allah, what tabate sunenen nabiye and your ettaba was the
- 51:33Sunnah of Rasulullah hatta da al Kallahu al Ajwar.
- 51:36From that first moment you were born until your last one.
- 51:38So on the in the first paragraph, yes, you understand
- 51:41the position of Imam Ali, especially where if you go
- 51:45through the book, I done a commentary of word by word.
- 51:48So assalamu alaik. What does assalamu alaik mean?
- 51:51What does mean? What does mean mean mean word by
- 51:57word? I done just that first part.
- 51:59I think you'll understand who Imam Ali is.
- 52:02And then I think what's unique about the Ziara and it goes
- 52:06maybe back to the Hadith of Maharafa Allahu, Maharafi Nefsek
- 52:09and the Kingdom to Arab Nefsek, Namaraf, Nabiyek, Allahu,
- 52:12Maharaf Nehra Sulekh and the Kingdom to Arab Neera Sulek, the
- 52:16Maharaf Hajitek. It's all in connected, as you
- 52:19mentioned, I think earlier that Nabua, Imamah, Tawheid, they're
- 52:24all connected. It's like a puzzle where you're
- 52:26putting together. And I think ziyarat, I mean
- 52:29Allah as well as Ziyarat Ashura. Please pay for me that I'm
- 52:33hoping maybe in the next few years.
- 52:36I take the initiative of speaking about, of writing about
- 52:38Ziyarat Ashura, even though I've started book #2 which is about
- 52:42Ziyarat Zahra. But shall I'll go back to the,
- 52:47the, the, the, the, the, the, the relationship.
- 52:49I think of Toheid Nabuwe, Imam, spirituality.
- 52:53Even you know, some people say Islam doesn't really speak about
- 52:56mental health. Hi, this is Yara.
- 52:59This is Yara is all mental health, mental state.
- 53:01Islam doesn't speak about bellah.
- 53:04This is Yara is about bellah. Islam doesn't speak about
- 53:06gratitude. This is Yara Shah karat and
- 53:09Lisawabi alike. Mushtaq qatan Allah farhati.
- 53:13I know, I'm sorry, I'm racing these lines, but how can you be
- 53:17Mushtaq? Let's be honest, I'm talking,
- 53:19I'm going to talk about myself. How can you be Mushtaq?
- 53:24Allah farhati? Who is ready to meet Allah?
- 53:29No, no, no, no. He's not saying who's ready, who
- 53:34is wishing and Mushtaq. He's missing the meeting with
- 53:37Allah. He's yearning the meeting with
- 53:40Allah, which is a would I, I mean the Ziara as you, you've
- 53:46answered, I think your own question, the Ziara in itself,
- 53:48if someone can try and understand it or even read the
- 53:52words of the Ziara and just pick one line and keep reading it and
- 53:56every line what's what's again, I've done every line.
- 53:59I've tried to relate it to the Quran.
- 54:02Yes, I've tried. I've tried.
- 54:06So for example, I looked at the Quran.
- 54:11Where does where is mentioned in the Quran?
- 54:23The sign posts that you've placed towards you are clear,
- 54:27Awaba. Then I looked at the Quran and
- 54:30it spoke about the sign point. The sign points that Allah
- 54:32places in the sky for those travellers and they are the
- 54:37stars. They are there, the guides for
- 54:41travellers and and I thought everything's intellect.
- 54:44That's why Imam Zain al Abidin Ali of the Salatu Salaam.
- 54:49I think we are blessed to have Saifa Sajadiya and some of us
- 54:54don't know that the same author of Sahaifa Sadjadiya is the
- 54:58author of I hope I've done it justice, even though I think I
- 55:04haven't touched the surface of this.
- 55:06It's it's it's a. Gem and we I think the community
- 55:11is indebted to you and for the team who weren't watching this.
- 55:14We're indebted to the albeit I don't think we've, we've done
- 55:16enough to, to to to showcase the gems of the albeit in these
- 55:21dohas and these applications. As a dear friend of mine
- 55:26mentions that sometimes we have the prescription and the
- 55:30medicine in our hands. We just don't know.
- 55:32We don't take it. Yeah, or or we, or we just we,
- 55:35we don't know how to take it. We don't know the usage.
- 55:39We just we, we, we tick the boxes rather this has to be
- 55:41done. So I don't want to get going to
- 55:44this has to be done on this night only.
- 55:46Who says again, this is not I don't who says do How come it
- 55:49has to be done on Thursday? Why can't we do do Le Clark on
- 55:52Thursday? Why don't we one week try to add
- 55:55a toba on Thursday? Why don't we resort to JAMA on
- 55:58Thursday? Why akunas?
- 56:00Maybe there is sign. I'm not saying there is it
- 56:03because you this this routine? Sometimes it's very nice.
- 56:07It's very good. Taskir is good.
- 56:10But if we change it up a bit, just how sometimes they say if
- 56:13you change up your routine a bit, you'll have more energy to
- 56:16do things. Or maybe the routine is still we
- 56:19don't. Want to be too rigid?
- 56:21This is the thing as a community and also be open to exploration
- 56:25of ourselves and our souls. And in doing that, we'll gain
- 56:29proximity to our last Pantala and you know, with, with a meal.
- 56:32Mahmanin especially, there's so many like countless aspects,
- 56:37elements of him to study. And you can't, you can't limit
- 56:40yourself. For example, that is compassion
- 56:42or his mercy or his justice or his strength or his fairness or
- 56:45his spirituality or any element or characteristic of minimal
- 56:49manin studying him in that he's the best in the field.
- 56:53So then to understand him as a as a whole, you then you we, we
- 56:57can't rely on on the fallible human being to do that.
- 57:00We look towards that Emma Alima Saddam and and Salaam Hamsallah
- 57:04Ali to describe it. Miramot Manin.
- 57:06We know, of course, the hadith. Oh Ali, none know you like Allah
- 57:11and I and of course the continuation of this none no I
- 57:14and none not Allah. And this is where we look.
- 57:17We look to the infallibles to describe the infallibles and the
- 57:20works of the infallibles, which allow us to understand a glimpse
- 57:23into way the infallibles or a last panel to I.
- 57:25Said that's very key, I think. It's very important.
- 57:28There's a fine line for us to draw and I think from an Al
- 57:32Qaidi perspective as well, and a theological perspective, the
- 57:35ziyada will allow us to understand the way to speak
- 57:38about Allah's panel to Allah, because this is something, the
- 57:40etiquette of speaking to Allah about Allah.
- 57:42And from Allah we ask from Allah.
- 57:44As well I sent. Sub panel to Allah so this is
- 57:47it's allow us to train ourselves.
- 57:49So may Allah grant you Mubaraka Sheikh now give you more risk
- 57:52and more tofia to continue Shala.
- 57:54We expect the the 2nd and then the 3rd and inshallah more
- 57:58knowledge and continuation. Shall all the ziadas of all the
- 58:01hilbe, That's the, that's the, that's the name, the ziadas of
- 58:04the Hilbeit. And as you said, because there's
- 58:08they, they give us the etiquette and the style of how to
- 58:11understand the, the other imam. Because I know our minds are
- 58:14limited to a certain extent. We'll understand that through
- 58:16the and the etiquette of speaking to a loss of Hana and
- 58:20what to ask from a loss of Hana. Have you ever I always get asked
- 58:24this question Like when I go to the shrine my mind goes blank.
- 58:28What do I even say? What?
- 58:29Do I even say yeah? I say wow, pick up Ziara
- 58:31Tashura. Let it do the work for you,
- 58:34yeah? That's it.
- 58:35Just pick up that Ziara and maybe as you're reading that
- 58:38Ziara, if you read with understanding a bit and
- 58:43contemplating on the words, then things will start popping up in
- 58:46your head that you've you've wanted to ask for.
- 58:49But through these lines you'll be able to ask.
- 58:51For that's all it is. We just need to be sincere in
- 58:55the way we do it, you know? The hardest thing, You make it
- 58:57sound hard. Yeah, it's the hardest part.
- 59:00You know, like you go like it's right.
- 59:01I feel this as well. I'm sure you felt the same.
- 59:03You go to the shrine, like now what do I say?
- 59:06What do I say? What do I do?
- 59:07Immediately I think this member of family, this friend, this guy
- 59:10asked me to program this. That's how my mind works.
- 59:13It feels like my my mind is a browser and I have 20 tabs.
- 59:15On go checklist. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:17Honestly, it's like you literally so you know.
- 59:20Especially if you, if you're someone that's going and, and
- 59:23you and you look at your mile and you ask yourself, you know,
- 59:27do I deserve to be? Do I deserve the Imam even
- 59:30looking at me or returning? Is the imam going to return
- 59:34micellar? I think that's very that's
- 59:36that's key in in in in doing hesab of yourself, putting
- 59:41yourself under the microscope and saying now that I'm here,
- 59:45even though I always say the Imam, whichever of our imams is
- 59:49the most generous is the most kind.
- 59:52If an Imam can can even say the Shohada can even quench the
- 59:57thirst of someone he knew will deprive him of water.
- 1:00:02Before Ashura, there's an enemy that he says, he says Imam
- 1:00:06Hussain through the water container gave me water, but the
- 1:00:11water wasn't coming out from the water container because there
- 1:00:15was a bit left. So what the Imam did, he
- 1:00:18squeezed the water container. Then with his hand, he put his
- 1:00:23hand and I drank water from the hand of Sayidh Shuhada.
- 1:00:28And I mean, either I struck the water, that same person, Imam
- 1:00:31Hussein knows this person is going to be involved in his
- 1:00:34killing. That same person deprived Imam
- 1:00:36Hussein from drinking water. So if the Imam can do that with
- 1:00:39his enemies, imagine how he looks at us inshallah, hopefully
- 1:00:42as his. But I think just thinking about
- 1:00:46that, we'll hopefully raise someone's spirituality and maybe
- 1:00:52get him closer to a loss of Hannah Hotallah through that
- 1:00:55little bit. Inshallah, I mean at Hamdallah
- 1:00:57and chef, I mean Allah give you so fearful this because no doubt
- 1:01:00many people will benefit from this myself, Ahmed, Inshallah,
- 1:01:04those listening from around the world, they they get their hands
- 1:01:07on the spirit because you're missing out if you don't open up
- 1:01:09the ziadas of a Hilbe, the Rs and the supplications that we
- 1:01:12have in the Hilbe. This is treasure, this is gem
- 1:01:14that we're losing out if we don't come across them.
- 1:01:17And I just want to mention one thing, Chair, you mentioned your
- 1:01:20grandmother, may Allah bless her soul.
- 1:01:24I have no doubt that she planted the seeds for this and this
- 1:01:27blossomed. This is what came.
- 1:01:29And we run behind. Let's recite Surat al Fatahana
- 1:01:32and her honour and Shallah. For the Jimmy, for all Mahomeni,
- 1:01:46including your father and all the Hadamat Ali Salaam.
- 1:01:49And I think though you're right, sometimes something you can do,
- 1:01:55it can plant a seed in the heart of your fellow Mormon or brother
- 1:01:59or your son or your cousin. So everyone looks at, especially
- 1:02:03maybe those like yourselves who are in the public domain who are
- 1:02:07doing these shows. Everyone looks at your actions
- 1:02:10and the way you speak and the way you do your Salah and the
- 1:02:12way you do your siara and you can be a source of of influence
- 1:02:17or a source of inspiration for someone.
- 1:02:20Sounds beautiful, can I just share one thing When you were
- 1:02:24mentioning that I was I went quiet by the way I I still
- 1:02:27having memories and I was remembering when I was a kid.
- 1:02:30My mother may a lot protect her for us she's reside every week's
- 1:02:34yart. I mean Allah but I never knew it
- 1:02:35was yart. I mean I was a kid by Rama.
- 1:02:38What is this? What is this was this.
- 1:02:39I came one day I asked her what is this?
- 1:02:40This is yart. I mean, I mean Allah attributed
- 1:02:44to Imam Ali, Ali Salaam and that's how I was introduced to
- 1:02:47it, spirituality at home. And I think this is something we
- 1:02:50can introduce you to how? I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:02:53I think it's rare now, but you mentioned a lot of the families.
- 1:02:58I'm sure you have them in your families.
- 1:02:59They used to have memorized Ziaras.
- 1:03:01Yeah, of course. I don't know.
- 1:03:03Is it still common? Is it still found now?
- 1:03:05It was. How it was because our elder
- 1:03:07generations. They had time what they did
- 1:03:10because they did have social media.
- 1:03:11Why were they able? There was, there was, there was
- 1:03:13like a ritualization of that teaching when they were young,
- 1:03:15no screen time. Do you know what I mean?
- 1:03:17And also lastly, because a lot of our families went through
- 1:03:20persecution of some sort. And so they had to learn this, I
- 1:03:23think, and, and they maintained that.
- 1:03:24Like for example, in our community, I don't know how, I'm
- 1:03:28sure you guys have seen this. When you go to Pakistan or Khoja
- 1:03:31Centre, they point towards the Qibla.
- 1:03:33Have you seen that? Yes, and this is.
- 1:03:35Yeah, because, for example, that, you know, we had to do.
- 1:03:37I don't know where, where, how that came from, but this the old
- 1:03:42wives tell oh, because we didn't want people to know.
- 1:03:44We're facing the qibla to do the.
- 1:03:46Form of tape, yeah. Yeah, form of tape, yeah.
- 1:03:48And it's kind of that passed down generationally, but you see
- 1:03:50the elder generations have. They're still still.
- 1:03:53I remember my grandmother as well, may Allah bless, protect
- 1:03:55her. Same thing all the Ziara top of
- 1:03:58her head from when we were young.
- 1:03:59And I think we have to the terrible we have to do for our
- 1:04:02children. Hamdullah we will have young
- 1:04:03children and for those at home who don't, inshallah soon, but
- 1:04:07that is so critical. So start us, I think, memorizing
- 1:04:10and then passing it down. Yeah.
- 1:04:11Well, do you know what I was? I was thinking about this.
- 1:04:14I was driving to work today as a panel.
- 1:04:15I was thinking about this as well.
- 1:04:17I was like, I'm going to get to the point where my sons are
- 1:04:19going to be like, Baba teach me something new along with the and
- 1:04:23then I'm like, you know what, Ali Hadi, you learn it and I'll
- 1:04:27learn it with you. That's.
- 1:04:28What I'm doing now but. Yeah, you humble yourself and it
- 1:04:30will do it together. But it's, you know, it's
- 1:04:32motivation for us. And Charlotte.
- 1:04:34Charlotte, thank you so much. Thank you for having me.
- 1:04:36I'm always honored and privileged to be a guest here.
- 1:04:40I love this show. I love the podcast wherever I
- 1:04:43go. They mentioned After Maghrib,
- 1:04:46you guys have done amazing. The beautiful thing is that the
- 1:04:51fact that you've made sure that it's fun and at the same time
- 1:04:55it's educational, inspirational. I pray for your success
- 1:05:00inshallah. And I think After Maghrib can go
- 1:05:02to become a worldwide platform that serves the community.
- 1:05:07I mean. Subscribe to After Maghrib.
- 1:05:08Subscribe to Progeny as well. Happy of you.
- 1:05:10Thank you very. Much progeny doing big things.
- 1:05:13Most of us been doing incredible work and yeah, leading the way
- 1:05:17for a long time. And I'll give him more and the
- 1:05:20whole team a progeny as well. Guys, make sure you subscribe,
- 1:05:23Say Ali. Any last words?
- 1:05:28It's it's a day of celebration. So let's let's send on the high
- 1:05:33note and Sha Allah. And for those of you who don't
- 1:05:35have love for Amir al Mohmanino, new to Amir al Mohmanino,
- 1:05:38learning about Shia Islam, start with Amir al Mamini Alayhi
- 1:05:42Salaam. Don't, don't listen to, you
- 1:05:44know, those who turn you. Don't talk to the Shia, don't
- 1:05:46listen to the Shia, Don't read their books.
- 1:05:49No, no, no, we have all the keys, Inshallah to the path of
- 1:05:53Rasul Allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
- 1:05:56And on that note, I just can see every.
- 1:05:59Time the piece has arrived in the door.
- 1:06:01I can smell it. You'll have wrap up seed.
- 1:06:03Come on. Every time we have a
- 1:06:05conversation, checking on a mirror Normani, whether it's 13
- 1:06:09Rajiv or whether it's idol Kadir or Leila Turkadir and you know,
- 1:06:13things like I always have a question.
- 1:06:14I ask why are you Shia? I'm not going to ask it this
- 1:06:17time because I know we, we, we can go on the it's never ending.
- 1:06:21Why are you Shia? It's never ending, but I just
- 1:06:24want to say because there will be people listening for the
- 1:06:26first time that are new to Shia Islam or perhaps are learning
- 1:06:31about Shia Islam, why are they missing out by not having Imam
- 1:06:35Ali part of their spirituality? And that's my final thing.
- 1:06:38I know anything what's important.
- 1:06:40They're missing out on on this. Yeah, they're missing.
- 1:06:43I removed the microphone because I thought he's.
- 1:06:44Going to. I was really cheating, you know,
- 1:06:46I was like yellow. Let's do.
- 1:06:47This. These are my favorite parts of
- 1:06:49any. Conversation.
- 1:06:51I think they're missing out on what you just said, Dunya and
- 1:06:55Ahara, they're missing on a special taste that you can only
- 1:07:01feel when you have a understanding of who Ali of the
- 1:07:07Abu Talib Ali Salam is and that I think cannot be replaced by
- 1:07:12anything. And Akhara of course, because he
- 1:07:15is, as we mentioned, Kasimu Jenna Tuanar, and he is the one
- 1:07:19that we believe will intercede for us insha'allah, because he
- 1:07:26represented what Rasulullah wanted to be represented.
- 1:07:29At the end of the day, when I say I am a Shia of Ali, really I
- 1:07:33am a Shia of Muhammad sallallahu.
- 1:07:36As much as we admire Ali Ali, Ali Ali Salaam and we mention
- 1:07:43his father and we always have to remind ourselves that that same
- 1:07:46admiration, if not greater, was what Ali had for his beloved
- 1:07:50Muhammad sallallahu. So the true path of Islam really
- 1:07:57is through Ali of Nabi al Talib to Muhammad sallallahu Ali or
- 1:08:02sallam. So really, if you're, if you, if
- 1:08:04you're not following, you're missing out on on.
- 1:08:09Everything. And you're not following Ali,
- 1:08:11you're not really following Muhammad.
- 1:08:12But I'll leave it there. I open the.
- 1:08:15So bro, sorry, sorry, sorry. All right guys, Inshallah we'll
- 1:08:18see you next week. Thank you chef.
