- 0:00Hey, everybody, it's Jeff. Wanted to let you know that we recorded
- 0:03this podcast episode on Tuesday, October seventeenth, twenty twenty three. By the
- 0:07time you hear this, some things may have changed, but we hope you
- 0:09enjoy the show. All right, folks, welcome to Opposition Territory here at
- 0:38the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show
- 0:43in the world, that's right over ten and a half years strong. We
- 0:46got our great preview coming your way this week here on Opposition Territory. The
- 0:50Philadelphia Eagles coming off their first loss of the season, getting ready to take
- 0:55on a very prolific Miami Dolphins team that I do have to say, the
- 1:00Philadelphia Eagles are gonna be wearing their Kelly Green jerseys. There's a lot of
- 1:03excitement specifically for that, but in terms of what else we are going to
- 1:07see on the field besides the Eagles donning those jerseys, it's gonna be a
- 1:12tough, tough, Miami Dolphins team. So let's get into this week's preview
- 1:18podcast. We got a great guest, let's get to it, and it
- 1:21is great to have the podcast for the very first time coming to us from
- 1:25the Bleeve Podcast Network to get into this Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins upcoming game.
- 1:32Great preview. I know we're gonna get into some great conversations. Sam
- 1:36marcou buddy, thanks so much for jumping on the pod here. Oh thanks
- 1:40for having me. It's man, what a match up here in Week seven
- 1:44between the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Eagles. This is the stuff that Super
- 1:47Bowl previews are made of. Absolutely both five and one teams, powerhouse teams
- 1:53in the National Football League. And before we get into this preview, Sam,
- 1:59tell everybody where they can find you on the interwebs out there, you
- 2:01know, the great stuff that you've been doing over at the Bleeve Network as
- 2:06well. Tell everybody where they can find you. Yeah. So the podcast
- 2:09is called Welcome to perfect Ville, usually shortened to the perfect Ville Podcast,
- 2:13obviously taken from the great nineteen seventy two Miami Dolphins. Myself and my co
- 2:17host, Chris Cullen, former collegiate football player and football coach out of North
- 2:22Carolina. We just talked about Miami Dolphins and football in general. We've been
- 2:25doing this for almost seven years at this point, so that doesn't mean we've
- 2:30been doing it well mind, you just means we've been doing it for seven
- 2:31years. You're catching up these yeah, yeah, we're slowly. We're reaching
- 2:36out trying to touch you guys there, but we've been doing this a long
- 2:39time. We're part of the Believe podcast network, as you talked about,
- 2:42and you can find us anywhere podcasts anywhere you listen to them right any podcast
- 2:46catcher out there. And then myself, if you guys are interested, I
- 2:49am a working stand up traveling comedian. So as of right now, my
- 2:53tour dates are none because I'm at home raising a new generation of Miami Dolphins
- 2:58fan with my young son. But soon enough you could probably google my name
- 3:01and see new tour dates coming up in early twenty twenty four. So whether
- 3:06it's comedy or football, I'm doing something somewhere. All right, very good,
- 3:09Well, let's get into this preview here, and man, the Dolphins
- 3:15they're a team that scares me is a Philadelphia Eagles fan. As we're you
- 3:17know, staring down Week seven here. Dolphins are, of course, team
- 3:22that's the top of the AFC East there. They've really built a team that's
- 3:27truly competing in the AFC. Here, Man, the connection between Tua and
- 3:30Tyreek Hill has been astonishing to watch all season. Sam. Plus, you
- 3:37know, he really does seem to be more comfortable this season. He really
- 3:39seems to be and I don't know if it's more enjoying the game of football.
- 3:44Maybe it's the fact that they're winning and that absolutely helps. So I'm
- 3:47wondering, how do you describe to his development over these past couple seasons here
- 3:53and specifically with regard to this season. Give the injuries that have you know,
- 3:57led him to where you know this team and he have been where they
- 4:00are right now, how do you describe to his development here? I think
- 4:05I would describe it if I used one word as just incredible. Look,
- 4:10Tua in college was that guy. I mean, you can't go and watch
- 4:13the tape from him at Alabama and go that guy can't play quarterback. There's
- 4:16a couple of things that happened at the very start, really at the end
- 4:18of his collegiate career. He had a devastating hip injury, which people often
- 4:23forget about. I mean, it was the same exact hip injury that ended
- 4:26Bo Jackson's football career. Now, due to sports medicine, technology and everything
- 4:30else, he was able to come back, but that takes a couple of
- 4:31years to not only physically recover, but mentally get over the hurdle of if
- 4:36I get hit again, this could be the end of my career. On
- 4:39top of that, of course, he had the concussion issues last season,
- 4:42But really what happened was that his confidence just absolutely soared. Once Mike McDaniel
- 4:48was hired on as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Brian Flores didn't
- 4:51do him any favors. He really didn't show him any sort of love.
- 4:55And Brian Flores basically is the guy who drafted him and then said, well,
- 4:58I don't really want you here. He's very confusing for a young quarterback
- 5:00who's already dealing with some issues when it comes to his hips his injuries.
- 5:04Mike McDaniel came in famously cut up seven hundred different plays for to it to
- 5:10say, look, not only are you good, but you are the exact
- 5:13quarterback I need for my offense. And then he went out and started proving
- 5:15it, and all of a sudden, you know, the concepts and everything
- 5:18starts coming into execution. It certainly helps to go get Tyreek Hill. I
- 5:21mean that cures a lot of eb absolutely, and it's just been building since
- 5:26then. And now we're to a point where two was actually calling his own
- 5:30plays in the huddle. Typically I'm going to throw it to Tyreek over the
- 5:32top, but it seems to work, and he's done that twice. Now,
- 5:35twice he's actually audibled coming out of the huddle based on what he's seeing
- 5:40in the field, based on what the defense is showing him, and both
- 5:42times it's ended in a Tyreek Hill touchdown over the top. So his confidence
- 5:46is absolutely through the roof. And he even said it. I mean,
- 5:48you mentioned is he having more fun? He is? He said he hasn't
- 5:50had this much fun since he played at Alabama. So I think confidence,
- 5:54self confidence in general is the biggest change that we've seen in two. He's
- 5:59always had the two to do it in terms of his skill set, but
- 6:00now believing that he can do it is really why we're seeing this difference.
- 6:04I think a narrative that often gets lost Sam in terms of players who have
- 6:10gone through significant injuries is the mental aspect of getting back to form. I
- 6:14don't think that's talked enough in the sports world in general, just because these
- 6:17guys are amazing athletes, doesn't necessarily mean from a mental standpoint they're going to
- 6:23be able to come back and be one hundred percent mentally, because we know
- 6:27how important the mental aspect of sports is for the performance to just look the
- 6:31way that it should. And I think there's something to be said for that.
- 6:34It doesn't get talked about enough. No, no, And it's really
- 6:38you know, professional athletes, as you know, as much money and how
- 6:42much we celebrate them and all the success they have, and especially in American
- 6:45sports, they are creatures of habit more so than any other I think,
- 6:49you know, subset of you being good potession. They aren't even really allowed
- 6:54on a lot of days to change up what they're going to eat. They
- 6:59eat at a certain every single day and people bring them food. They exercise
- 7:02at the same routine every single day. There's not a lot of diversity to
- 7:06what they do day in and day out. So when you have an injury
- 7:09and it completely shakes up not only what you do day in and day out,
- 7:12but your way of life, that is a mental block that a lot
- 7:15of folks have a hard time getting over. Athletes are a special breed because
- 7:18they now have to train on how to get over that, but that takes
- 7:21time, sometimes longer than the actual physical pain and recovery. Absolutely. All
- 7:25right, Well, moving along here in terms of the Miami Dolphins offense and
- 7:29what we may be seeing at Lincoln Financial Field this coming Sunday, is that
- 7:33one gentleman raheem Moster my gosh, you know, continuing he's been continuing with
- 7:39his amazing hot streak heading into this Week seven matchup, just a career year
- 7:44that he's having. It's amazing to watch in this past week, my gosh,
- 7:47touch the ball twenty times twenty total times, had three touchdowns. So
- 7:53do you think his incredible and just remarkable success this season has more to do
- 7:58with him knowing an un understanding the defense that's in front of him, or
- 8:03is this more of the offensive line making sure that he's able to find success,
- 8:05especially as he's rushing the ball. Yeah, well, first and foremost,
- 8:09I like that you said the gentleman because he's thirty one years old,
- 8:13which, as Tous said, he's an old head, which I was affriended
- 8:16by as somebody who's north of thirty one, like, that's a young man.
- 8:18He probably gets carted when he goes and buys a beer right, right.
- 8:22But you know, Raheem has been around for a little bit of time,
- 8:24especially in football years. And this is a guy who was handpicked by
- 8:26Mike McDaniel when he came over to the Miami Dolphins. Last year, Raheem
- 8:31Mostert was in San Francisco. Raheem Mostert has had spurts of success like you
- 8:35were seeing this season at previous stops. I mean, I think he still
- 8:39holds the right. I mean, nobody can forget what he did against the
- 8:41Green Bay Packers in the playoffs a couple of years ago. I think he
- 8:43had four touchdowns or something like that. Yeah, the talent has always been
- 8:46there. He's a track star, just like Tyreek Hill, just like Devana
- 8:50Chan, just like all these other guys on the Miami Dolphins speed kills,
- 8:52and that's what they're banking on. I think the main difference that you're seeing
- 8:54here is a he's healthy. That's always been the knock on Raheem Mostert.
- 8:58It wasn't that he couldn't run the ball. I mean, I think his
- 9:00career average, you know, this year is obviously helping them. But he's
- 9:03up like five point eight yards per carry on his career, he's able to
- 9:07run the ball. Yeah, it would just he's never been that bell cow
- 9:11back. And even this season he was splitting time with Devana Chan and others
- 9:15for the Miami Dolphins. And he'll continue to do that, which I actually
- 9:16think is helping him. Yeah, because he's not the guy who's getting the
- 9:20ball thirty times a game. Because he runs hard. I don't know,
- 9:22he's a run fast. He will knock you down if you're on you.
- 9:24Guys have the tush push in Philadelphia. But Raheem's gonna try to match that
- 9:28with his head and he's gonna drop it and he's gonna take on whatever defender
- 9:31was in front of him and try to get that yard. So, yes,
- 9:35the offensive line is playing much better, but a lot of this is
- 9:37individual effort. I mean there's at least three or four plays against the Carolina
- 9:41Panthers this past weekend where it's third and eight, it's third and seven,
- 9:45and he's getting a ball on a swing pass or he's getting a toss and
- 9:46it looks like he's dead to rights and he's running over people. He's jumping
- 9:50over people, and he's fighting for every inch of yard, you know,
- 9:54every inch on that field and getting first down. So a lot of it
- 9:56is just the individual effort from Raheem Mostert's also probably the best teammate the Miami
- 10:01Dolphins have. He doesn't care about rumors of Jonathan Taylor coming to the Miami
- 10:05Dolphins. He welcomed Dalvin Cook rumors when they came in. He was happy
- 10:07when Jeff Wilson Junior was traded there last year. He's supporting Devin Han who's
- 10:11taking you know, bread off of his plate, so to speak. He
- 10:15doesn't care. He's like, I'm a team guy. I want to win.
- 10:18This is my best opportunity to win a Super Bowl. So you have
- 10:20the right mentality with a physical specimen that is Raheem Mostern, even at the
- 10:24ripe old age of thirty one, and an offensive line that is playing much
- 10:28better and much better than we ever expected this season, especially with our two
- 10:31top players out with Connor Williams Ronstad. So it's a combination. Absolutely.
- 10:37I think it is, because I think any good team, any well rounded
- 10:39team, you're going to have a combination of both of those things. You
- 10:43know, it's individual, then again, it's all the moving parts of the
- 10:46cog working together to make sure that the overall offense is going to have success,
- 10:52but on the flip side of the ball, on the defense, we
- 10:56really wanted to get your thoughts on where this pass rush is currently and how
- 11:01they may actually be able to take advantage of the Philadelphia's or the Philadelphia Eagles
- 11:05offensive line at this point because with Lane Johnson possibly missing this week's game due
- 11:09to an ankle sprain, with Cam Jurgen's right guard out on ir there,
- 11:15I mean, there are two backup offensive linemen starting in this game. And
- 11:20as folks of this podcast they've listened for some time, know how much I
- 11:24love Lane Johnson and I do believe he is the best right tackle in the
- 11:28National Football League and the loss of him shows what happens to this Eagles offensive
- 11:35line, and they had major problems this past week against New York Jets when
- 11:37he went out. Jack Driscoll just had a tough time at right tackle against
- 11:43the Jets, and I wonder just how the Dolphins might be able to take
- 11:48advantage of this. And Sam, how how do you think the Dolphins defensive
- 11:52line in this pass rush is really gonna be able to capitalize on these you
- 11:56know, Eagles offensive line injuries up front here. Yeah, I mean it's
- 12:00good question. I mean, Lane Johnson is a guy that everyone knows.
- 12:01As soon as he went down, trust me, I was texting my co
- 12:05host, I welcome to Perfect LI podcast, going, hey, Lane's out.
- 12:07This could be an issue. It's not just the physical blocking that Lane
- 12:11Johnson does, but it's it's being a captain, it's being a leader,
- 12:13it's helping the other people on the offensive line. As you know, I
- 12:16mean, they have to work as one unit. It's five working as one.
- 12:18Yeah, and you take a big cog like that out and that's going
- 12:20to change a lot of things. Now. The Jets, to their credit,
- 12:24and I can't believe I have to say this, have a really good
- 12:26defensive line. They really do, unfortunately for the Philadelphia Eagles. So to
- 12:30the Miami Dolphins, I mean, I think they lead the league in quarterback
- 12:33pressures and hits. I think they're third in sacks. They can get after
- 12:35the quarterback. Now that being said, the Miami Dolphins don't blitz very often,
- 12:39at least they haven't under this Vic Fangio regime since the beginning of the
- 12:43season. They blitz intermittently, usually towards the end of the game, especially
- 12:46if it's a close game, which we haven't experienced a lot of this year.
- 12:50But that's when they really tend to dial it up and bring five,
- 12:52six, or even seven people up. Typically they're looking for that front four
- 12:56to get pressure on the quarterback, and they're trying to have this shell deep
- 13:00and coverage. Jalen Hurts is an amazing quarterback who can get out of the
- 13:03pocket and run around and create things with his legs. But for the Miami
- 13:07Dolphins, they're probably going to load up on that side. I wouldn't be
- 13:09surprised to see Andrew van Ginkel, who can play both inside and outside and
- 13:13is a personal favorite of Vic Fangio, lining up on the outside and lining
- 13:16up over Jalen Phillips and trying to get to Jalen Hurts as quickly as possible.
- 13:22Yeah, And what's really sad being an Eagles fan at this particular point
- 13:26in time is how the Eagle secondary is basically in shambles, and as we
- 13:30look to this coming game, my gosh, I'm absolutely scared to death.
- 13:33But I wanted to focus on what we've seen thus far this season from the
- 13:37Dolphins and their secondary is we're talking about this Dolphins defense. They're a tough
- 13:41unit, but they certainly are vulnerable I think in some aspects of the game
- 13:46here. So what should we be expecting from the Miami Dolphins secondary this particular
- 13:52week? Yeah, you know, I think if you combine the Eagles secondary
- 13:54and the Dolphins secondary, we might have a complete starting unit that's NFL worthy.
- 14:00I mean at this point. I mean Jaalen Ramsey is out, has
- 14:03been out, obviously torn in niscus. He's starting practice possibly this week.
- 14:07He will not play in this game. He won't play until after the bye
- 14:09week, kept the earliest. Xavien Howard, our other cornerback, is out
- 14:13with a groin injury. There's a lot of jokes there if you read the
- 14:16news and follow up with what he's got going on in his personal life.
- 14:18Oh don't touch, but it's possible that our top two cornerbacks are going to
- 14:22be out. And then you're looking at Caterkoho, who's an undrafted second year
- 14:26player who's really good in the slot, not so great on the boundary,
- 14:30and Javon Holland of talented safety and Deshaun Elliott, who was basically hand picked
- 14:35by Vic Fangio to come in here and it really helps set the backside of
- 14:39the defense in terms of where they need to be. He took the game
- 14:41off in Buffalo and it was a complete disaster. Now part of that is
- 14:43Stefan Diggs, of course, but he is a true leader back there and
- 14:48making sure the communication piece is key and everyone is where they need to be.
- 14:50It's so interesting when you look at this Philadelphia Eagles team and this Dolphins
- 14:54team. A lot of similarities for the quarterbacks to the wide receiving being a
- 14:58strength to basic a running back, you know, committee if you will offensive
- 15:03line issues. Then of course on the defensive side of the ball, the
- 15:05upfront is both, you know, a strength for both, and then on
- 15:09the backside maybe not so much so. I think in this game, obviously
- 15:13AJ Brown Davante Smith are going to be the two players that the Miami Dolphins
- 15:18have to focus on in the passing game. YEP. I don't know how
- 15:20you stop them. I think it's a very similar situation to Tyreek Kill and
- 15:22Jalen Will absolutely, but I think they're going to try to let the Eagles
- 15:28beat them on the ground and do everything they can to limit Aj Brown and
- 15:33Devanta Smith. From getting over the top. Now it's a brand new defensive
- 15:37scheme for the Miami Dolphins. They're used to playing press covers, they used
- 15:39to playing man on man are man to man, but they're not doing a
- 15:43lot of that this year. It's a lot of communication. It's a work
- 15:46in progress. This is an area if the Philadelphia Eagles are going to attack,
- 15:48that's where I would attack fire them. This is one of those games
- 15:52where I could see DeVante Smith, AJ Brown, Jalen Waddle, and Tyreek
- 15:56Hill all having over one hundred and twenty five yards receiving. I can absolutely
- 16:00see that NBC is crossing every single finger they have that that happens on Sunday
- 16:06Night football. They don't want another thirteen to eleven game. They exactly they've
- 16:10won two, you know with all that happening. Absolutely yep. Again,
- 16:15we are talking to Sam Marco folks over at the perfect Ville Pod and over
- 16:22at the Believe Network as well, and get out the plugs for it perfect
- 16:27vill at perfect Ville Pod on Twitter for sure, but let everybody know where
- 16:32you can find you as well. There. Yeah, if you go and
- 16:33type in perfect Ville, you're probably gonna get two hits. You're gonna get
- 16:37our show or possibly Mercury Morris going crazy on ESPN years ago when they're doing
- 16:41the Patriots almost strike their claim to be a perfect game, a perfect team
- 16:45as well. You can find us at Perfect vill Pod on Twitter. That's
- 16:48where we're most active. When it comes to social media. You can find
- 16:51us on Apple Podcasts. You can find us on well, I guess you
- 16:52can't do Stitchers. Stitch is no longer around, yeah, but anywhere you
- 16:56can find you know, just type in perfect Villa into your podcasting app of
- 17:00choice and you will find us, and we come out with a show every
- 17:02single week, our game preview. Please don't take offense because I'm actually an
- 17:06Eagles fan up until this week. I can't do this week for obvious reasons.
- 17:10But you and I were talking about this. I grew up on Randall
- 17:11Cunningham. I loved watching that guy play. I grew up on Ricky Waters.
- 17:15Yeah, you know, making business decisions over the middle of the field
- 17:18with the alligator arms and everything else. Well, I know this Philadelphia Eagles
- 17:21team. I've been rooting from AFAR for a very long time out here in
- 17:23San Francisco, and I have to say the uniforms. You guys are gonna
- 17:27be rocking on Sunday are going to be fantastic. I hope the Dolphins fallow
- 17:32suit and actually throw on their throwbacks as well, because I think that would
- 17:34be the prettiest throwback game of all time. But yeah, you can find
- 17:38us, and if you want to, we'll come out a little bit later
- 17:41this week with our preview, which we call we Hate the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 17:44and we give you three reasons why I am a Dolphins fans should hate the
- 17:47Eagles, trying to pump up this team, pump up the fan base and
- 17:49get them in a ladder so that we can match your guys's intensity in Philadelphia.
- 17:53We're not gonna be throwing batteries at Santa Claus or anything, but we'll
- 17:56try to match you from Afar with the intensity. But if you want to
- 18:00take a look at that, find out why we hate the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 18:03It's gonna be tough this week, because, like I said, I like
- 18:04the Eagles, but we'll find a way, all right, Well, Sam,
- 18:08for who for what? Right? Yeah? Well, I mean,
- 18:12I think first and foremost, we're forever linked these two franchises due to Ace
- 18:17Ventura. That's always meant to be. I also can't stand the fact that
- 18:22Donovan McNabb threw up on the ball and let the Patriots beat you guys,
- 18:26because I absolutely needed you guys to win that one and it didn't quite happen.
- 18:29What reason, the Philadelphia Eagles. But it's a stretch. It's a
- 18:33stretch. God, what a terrible night that was in two thousand and four.
- 18:36All Right, as we're moving along here, two part question for you,
- 18:40as we ask our opposition territory guests every week getting into these particular matchups
- 18:45here, So I'm wondering where you think the Dolphins are most vulnerable on the
- 18:49offensive side of the ball, where the Eagles could potentially really do some damage
- 18:53perhaps to this Dolphins team. Might be a difficult question answer, But where
- 18:57do you think the Dolphins are most vulnerable on offense? It's probably where your
- 19:00guys have strength. Is this is where we do diverge a little bit.
- 19:04I think third and short, fourth and short. Remamy, Dolphins have gotten
- 19:07way too cute. I would almost imagine that they should take a page out
- 19:11of your guys's playbook quite literally, but we just do dumb things. It
- 19:15could be third in inches, and we're doing backward passes that are basically live
- 19:19ball fumbles if you don't get it done, just not putting ourselves in good
- 19:22position to convert those. Now, we don't get a lot of third downs
- 19:26in Miami, at least not this year, but when we're in those positions
- 19:30third and goal, third and one, third and two, we've seen multiple
- 19:33turnovers on downs. We've seen multiple turnovers in the red zone. It's an
- 19:37area that needs to be improved. And if I'm the Philadelphia Eagles, I'm
- 19:40looking for those opportunities to create havoc and look for the ball to come out,
- 19:44or look for the ball to be maybe rushed if he's trying to throw
- 19:47a quick slant or something like that. Get your hands up. I think
- 19:49that was something that the Carolina Panthers did very well. They knew they weren't
- 19:52going to get to it. He was getting rid of the ball in two
- 19:53point four seconds or less, which is the fastest on the week. But
- 19:56they got their hands up and they knocked down two or three passes because if
- 20:00nothing else, he's throwing the ball, get your hands up, maybe be
- 20:02bat it down. So I think that's where they're vulnerable on offense. Also,
- 20:06I mean, you guys are good against the run if they can't establish
- 20:07the run. Mike McDaniel has shown he gets a little froggy and he's going
- 20:11to start throwing over and over and over again, and at that point it's
- 20:14just a volume stat. At some point he's going to throw an interception.
- 20:17So if you can stop the run, if you can focus on third and
- 20:19short, on third and goal type situations, I think the Philadelphia Eagles are
- 20:25going to put themselves in a position to at least stop the Miami Dolphins occasionally
- 20:29on offense. Okay, from the defensive side of things, where do you
- 20:32think the Dolphins are going to be most vulnerable on the defensive side of the
- 20:34ball. I think we already talked about it in terms of the secondary.
- 20:37But is that what you're thinking as you're looking at this matchup? Yeah,
- 20:41I mean I feel like we're gonna get a taste of rown medicine here.
- 20:44I mean, I look at these teams that are playing the Miami Dolphins and
- 20:47I go, how did you leave Tyreek Hill one on one? Those rookie
- 20:49cornerback right against the Denver Broncos, they doubled Robbie Chosen, who I didn't
- 20:55even know was active for that game, and Tyree Kibble was wide open.
- 20:56It's like, that's a you know, somebody made a bad call, right
- 21:00right. I feel like that's going to happen. You know, that could
- 21:02very well happen in this game where if you're gonna bracket aj Brown, which
- 21:06is what I would do, well, what are you going to do about
- 21:07Devanta Smith? Because this is also somewhat of a little bit of an Alabama
- 21:11reunion. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if Jalen Hurts is going to
- 21:14try to make a statement by getting the ball to DeVante Smith and all of
- 21:17a sudden, you know, you have these interwoven storylines about Alabama receivers and
- 21:21everything else. It's going to be that secondary. If Xavien Howard doesn't play,
- 21:25you're looking at a lot of special teamers who are cornerbacks and safeties by
- 21:30title only having to go in there and cover this up. That is an
- 21:33area of weakness right now for the Miami Dolphins. If it gets into the
- 21:36trenches, that's going to be a bang bang who you know, I don't
- 21:38know whoever has the ball? Last kind of thing but going over the top
- 21:42and exposing this secondary for what it is right now, especially with aj Brown,
- 21:47especially with Dvante Smith, Dallas Goddard. I mean that's an area where
- 21:49you guys have us as well in terms of the tight end. If Jalen
- 21:52Hurts can get back and have some time, which is a question, right,
- 21:57he's going to have the ability to pick this apart. All right,
- 22:00Very good? All right. As we're ending things here and ending our discussion,
- 22:03another two part question for you here, and we talk about both teams
- 22:07needing to hit on one thing for a win this week. We'll start off
- 22:11with the Miami Dolphins. What's the one thing this Dolphins team is going to
- 22:14need to hit on this week for a win and give the Eagles perhaps our
- 22:18second loss of the season. Well, I think we're going to have to
- 22:22from an emotional standpoint, the Miami Dolphins are going to have to weather the
- 22:25storm. This is a primetime game in Philadelphia. The Eagles unexpectedly lost to
- 22:30the stupid New York Jets last week, so I know your team's going to
- 22:33be fired up. They're looking for revenge and they're going to try to take
- 22:36it out on the Miami Dolphins. You guys know this because you were in
- 22:38the Super Bowl last year and have been a juggernaut in the NFC. When
- 22:41you're five and one, when you're leading your division, you're getting everybody else's
- 22:45best shot. Now, the Miami Dolphins have been great against bad teams and
- 22:48have not been great against good to great teams. So the Miami Dolphins are
- 22:52motivated to beat the Eagles, especially on national TV, to show everybody we
- 22:56are for real. So I expect this to be a high flying matchup.
- 23:00I think the Miami Dolphins are going to have to establish the run. That's
- 23:03gonna be hard to do against this Philadelphia Eagles team. But if you can
- 23:07get the ball moving on the ground, it opens up everything when it comes
- 23:11to throwing the ball to Tyreek Hill, when it comes to throwing the ball
- 23:12to Jalen Waddle, And of course, don't forget people like Braxton Barrios.
- 23:17And since we love alliteration so much in Miami, keep an eye on a
- 23:21gentleman named Chase Claypool making his debut for Dolphins. Six foot four, two
- 23:26hundred and thirty pounds four point two forty We all know who he is,
- 23:30but putting him in the hands of Mike McDaniel. Wouldn't surprise me if you
- 23:36see a couple gadget players with cha Chase Claypool this week, and folks,
- 23:38we know how the Philadelphia Eagles defense does in terms of gadget plays. Okay,
- 23:42we're gonna I'm just gonna say that and leave it there. Chase Claypool,
- 23:47he's gonna have some success, folks, if Mike McDaniel decides to go
- 23:51that route. So what's the one thing as we're closing things out here,
- 23:55Sam that the Philadelphia Eagles are gonna need to hit on for a win this
- 23:57week against the Miami Dolphins. What are you thinking. Yeah, it's gonna
- 24:02start up front for them. I think if you can keep Jalen Hurts clean,
- 24:04he's got a good opportunity to put up some stats, especially against the
- 24:07secondary, like we talked about. But with Lane Johnson being down and you
- 24:10have a couple of rookies playing on that line, it's gonna be up to
- 24:14them to figure out how to keep people like Jalen Phillips, Bradley Chubb who's
- 24:17coming on. He played really well against the Carolina Panthers team, and Andrew
- 24:19Van Ginkel Christian Wilkins is fighting for a new contract right now. I think
- 24:23he's got a career high in sacks already through six to seven games. If
- 24:29you can keep them at Bay, then Jalen Hurts, I think has time
- 24:30to actually go out there and process and make plays with his feed occasionally.
- 24:34That's gonna be the key for my or well for the Philadelphia Eagles. Keep
- 24:38the mind me Dolphins defensive front at Bay and Jalen Hurts is gonna have some
- 24:42success out there again. Folks. Sam Marco from perfect Ville Podcast at perfect
- 24:49Ville Pod on Twitter at Believe Network as well, and Buddy doing a great
- 24:56job. I loved our conversation here. It was fantastic. I'd love to
- 24:59talk to you down the road, my friend. Yeah, I mean I
- 25:00would love to be on here, just do a throwback episode and talk about
- 25:03Dan Marineo on Randall Cunningham because that was basically seventy five percent of my childhood.
- 25:07Let's do it. Let's do it down the road, my friend.
- 25:10All righty, thank you. How is Miami going to perform on the road
- 25:15at Lincoln Financial Field in a very hostile environment remains to be seen, and
- 25:21I think that's going to be potentially one of the big stories coming out of
- 25:25this particular game is the fact that the Eagles do have home field advantage and
- 25:30I think that can be a real boost for this Eagles team. And again,
- 25:34in terms of a question for the Philadelphia Eagles, how is this Eagles
- 25:37team going to perform this week? Coming off that loss against the New York
- 25:44Jets up in New York at MetLife Stadium. There's a lot of work that
- 25:47needs to be done with this Eagles team. The Miami Dolphins certainly aren't perfect
- 25:51by any stretch of the imagination. However, they're a damn good teams.
- 25:55So it's gonna be a very interesting matchup for sure. And we're going to
- 25:57get into what that game was on our Eagles postgame podcast show, so stay
- 26:03tuned for that, and in the meantime, we got some more great content
