- 0:28Speaker 2: in inbodied everyone we knew you would see, the biggest
- 0:36Speaker 2: gift would be from me, and the card attached would

- 1:33Speaker 1: half hour. He had to upload his new But something
- 1:37Speaker 1: on your computer.
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, for some reason, my computer just it does this.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It just it upgraded itself.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Daniel can tell you how to turn that off, Daniel,
- 1:51Speaker 1: can't you?
- 1:52Speaker 4: I mean sure, I would just recommend turning it on
- 1:54Speaker 4: more often.
- 1:56Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about that's it's way too much
- 2:02Speaker 2: bong water.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Are you high now?
- 2:06Speaker 2: No, I'm not high. I'm coming down.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I know you very well. I know so yes, A
- 2:12Speaker 1: and B. I know you very well. And I know
- 2:14Speaker 1: the radius of your eyeballs when.
- 2:15Speaker 5: You're high, radius of your eyeballs.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You know how much I'm talking about how much of
- 2:23Speaker 1: the eyeball I can see under the island. I know
- 2:27Speaker 1: him so well I can be like, okay, eyelids are
- 2:29Speaker 1: that low. It was probably a joint. Forty five minutes ago.
- 2:36Speaker 2: We walked into a meeting for the podcast. Once I
- 2:40Speaker 2: was blitzed out of my mind, not realizing how the
- 2:44Speaker 2: what the meeting was for, like not what the meeting
- 2:46Speaker 2: was for, but how important the meeting was. I should
- 2:50Speaker 2: say blitzed out of my mind. Guy goes to the bathroom.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Zach turns to me and goes, dude, you ston't And
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, I'm so so the this was.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The very first meeting. You were also late, I think.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I was, I was, I was very I was.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I was pointing.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I was talking about the very first meeting with the
- 3:09Speaker 1: company we didn't go with.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I was on time, you were late and you
- 3:12Speaker 2: know I was on time. Fuck you, dude.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I remember the awkward small talk I had with dude
- 3:17Speaker 1: waiting for you.
- 3:17Speaker 2: You were early, dude, that's what happened. You were like
- 3:20Speaker 2: five ten minutes early.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Well, you know what they say, Donald, It's better to
- 3:24Speaker 1: be a half hour early than one minute late.
- 3:26Speaker 2: That's true. Indeed, it's true.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Indeed, I believe that when you're late to meet me,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you're saying I don't respect you. Oh no, I mean
- 3:39Speaker 1: now because you had computer problems. But I mean in life.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I think if you're a young person preparing to go
- 3:43Speaker 1: out there into the professional world, it's better to be
- 3:46Speaker 1: a half hour early than one minute late. Right, you're well,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you're wise.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Listen.
- 3:50Speaker 5: I as a black person, I feel I can never
- 3:53Speaker 5: be late. That's what my parents told me. They said,
- 3:55Speaker 5: don't give them an excuse not to hire. These are
- 3:58Speaker 5: the rules.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Tell that to my brother. I'll be like, we're gonna
- 4:02Speaker 2: we gotta be there at eleven o'clock. I'm like, all right,
- 4:06Speaker 2: I'll see you at eleven one thirty. Rolls around like
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'm at the gate. Can y'all let me in?
- 4:15Speaker 1: Perfect, It's good to see you, It's good to see
- 4:20Speaker 1: you all. We have new merch out, very exciting Joel.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Yes, it's been a while for a while. By the
- 4:26Speaker 5: time this comes to air, well, this.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Is the first time we're recording audio where the new
- 4:32Speaker 1: merchan has been out. And there's for those of you
- 4:34Speaker 1: have been clamoring, there's finally a Joel Monique our Queen
- 4:37Speaker 1: T shirt.
- 4:38Speaker 6: It's perfect, It's so beautiful.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It comes in many colors. I'm gonna get yellow.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Yellow looks nice.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Okay, does it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Say on the back if you know you know or something?
- 4:51Speaker 1: I mean it should You're only only true fans of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the podcast are gonna know who that queen is.
- 4:59Speaker 5: And the to add this is a great way you
- 5:01Speaker 5: just spread the word of the podcast. If that's your ministry,
- 5:04Speaker 5: you know, wear the shirt, tell people about the pod.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yes. Please.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Hopefully when we when it's safe to go back to
- 5:10Speaker 5: conventions we can, we'll see your shirt and then we'll
- 5:13Speaker 5: recognize you as a fan and we'll it'll warm our hearts.
- 5:16Speaker 2: It's gonna be I think you should start. Yes, I
- 5:19Speaker 2: was about to say I heard it's really you know,
- 5:23Speaker 2: we're getting to that time where people are like, hey,
- 5:26Speaker 2: we've got a theater opening, do you guys want to
- 5:30Speaker 2: rent out this theater space it's happening.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Well, I look at all the musicians, everyone's going back
- 5:35Speaker 1: on tour. So I think we should start to think
- 5:37Speaker 1: about a tour. I mean, I agree, after I'm done
- 5:40Speaker 1: editing my movie in the first quarter of the year,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but like maybe the second quarter of the year, we
- 5:46Speaker 1: should go on a big ass tour Spring twenty twenty two. Yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'm seeing all these tour announcements come out because everyone's
- 5:53Speaker 1: like so excited for touring.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I would love that. I think that would be I
- 5:59Speaker 2: think that would be a lot of fun. Actually, you know,
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I want to. I want to, I want I just
- 6:04Speaker 1: want to make sure that we have a giant party bus.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Okay, giant party bus.
- 6:09Speaker 2: No, man, I want to sleep and stuff too. Man,
- 6:11Speaker 2: I'm old man, now, I don't you know. It would
- 6:13Speaker 2: be fun for like the first two days and ship,
- 6:15Speaker 2: but then after that I'm gonna want my naps and.
- 6:18Speaker 6: You can break the bus at a hotel.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Everyone, are you gonna get You're saying you're gonna get woozy.
- 6:23Speaker 2: No, I'm not gonna get woozy. But come on, man,
- 6:25Speaker 2: I don't think anybody in on this freaking podcast right now,
- 6:30Speaker 2: can sit here and say to me, you know what,
- 6:32Speaker 2: I miss the days when I would get blackout drunk,
- 6:35Speaker 2: wake up and do it again the next day, and
- 6:38Speaker 2: then wake up and do it again the next day.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I miss those days.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I want to go back to listen. We're not those
- 6:45Speaker 1: people anymore.
- 6:47Speaker 4: No, it may not be that person anymore.
- 6:48Speaker 7: But I'll tell you what, if I could go back
- 6:49Speaker 7: and do that again for a month, I would do
- 6:51Speaker 7: it in a heartbeat.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You know I wouldn't. You would go and do what
- 7:00Speaker 2: you used to do back in the days. Right now,
- 7:02Speaker 2: they'd be you know that the African dudes that are
- 7:04Speaker 2: carrying a casket dancing. That would be your funeral. Let's
- 7:08Speaker 2: put it out there.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Okay, okay, now how you know how you see the
- 7:13Speaker 1: giant tour bus pulling a trailer on the back. Now
- 7:16Speaker 1: that back thing will be Daniel's bedroom, something all over
- 7:22Speaker 1: the road. Come on, man, No, our tour bus doesn't
- 7:25Speaker 1: have to be like we're partying, like we're like twenty
- 7:28Speaker 1: years old. Donald. It can be a mature adult tour bus.
- 7:32Speaker 2: A mature adult tour bus that has freaking groupies and roadies.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm not trying to have groupies.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It's going to be like I don't have groupies and
- 7:41Speaker 2: roadies with the tour fork.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Okay, well roadies maybe one. I mean I'm the road
- 7:48Speaker 7: That's what that's literally my job. I'm the fucking roady
- 7:51Speaker 7: carrying the gear.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I think, Donald, I can't believe you're pooing this dream
- 7:54Speaker 1: I've had. I had this dream that we would tour
- 7:57Speaker 1: Europe in a giant tour bus and and just just
- 8:01Speaker 1: bond over the sites and try ganza.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Can't it? Can it be? But if it's a tour,
- 8:09Speaker 2: can it be like the tour and almost famous where
- 8:13Speaker 2: they're on the bus?
- 8:16Speaker 8: I almost famous, some tragic tale if you don't want to,
- 8:21Speaker 8: But don't you want don't you guys want a moment
- 8:23Speaker 8: where we're like all mad at each other and then
- 8:25Speaker 8: blue Jean baby?
- 8:28Speaker 1: All right, Well, I imagine the tour bus will be very
- 8:31Speaker 1: expensive anyway, so we'll get rid of the tour bus.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Well, there goes the tour.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah, there goes the tour. I only wanted to is gone.
- 8:40Speaker 6: Now, no like to travel across the Europe, get it together.
- 8:45Speaker 1: The only reason I wanted to do is to live
- 8:47Speaker 1: my dream of being in a rock band. In a
- 8:49Speaker 1: tour bus.
- 8:50Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 8:50Speaker 1: We should still do it, you know, with the bunks
- 8:52Speaker 1: and it's there's like those Star Trek doors that open.
- 8:57Speaker 2: You sleep like a baby.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah. What else should we talk about? There's merch that
- 9:01Speaker 1: you get that Merchant Cottonbureau dot Com. If you're someone
- 9:04Speaker 1: who likes merch.
- 9:06Speaker 2: By the time this episode airs, well Black Widow have
- 9:09Speaker 2: come out already.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'm sure, yes, Jack, but I'm pretty sure that's yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Black Widow comes out July ninth, So absolutely.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll be so if you want to lay down
- 9:21Speaker 2: the spoilers now, you might as well go ahead. No,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Trying to ruin it for you. Three. You're gonna love it.
- 9:27Speaker 1: You're gonna love it. It's very exciting.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I'm going to look.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I'll make sure that you reserve your don't forget that.
- 9:32Speaker 1: We have a date July ninth.
- 9:34Speaker 2: It really looks awesome. The commercials look really cool.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I think if you're a Marvel geek, you're going
- 9:40Speaker 1: to go full geek explosion.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Well I'm ready to Are you ready to expla?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Are you gonna scream at the screen?
- 9:50Speaker 2: No, I'm not gonna. It's not gonna it's not gonna
- 9:52Speaker 2: be that.
- 9:52Speaker 1: No, because you remember when we went to the Star
- 9:54Speaker 1: Wars premiere and you embarrassed me in front of Sean Hayes.
- 9:57Speaker 2: What did I do.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Right in front of us? And so was one of
- 10:02Speaker 1: the stranger things kids, and you were making all kinds
- 10:05Speaker 1: of noises and everyone was turning around, and I was like, bro,
- 10:09Speaker 1: you got it, you gotta hold it together.
- 10:11Speaker 2: But I was pissed off. I was upset.
- 10:13Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, this is the beginning. When
- 10:16Speaker 1: you first heard the music, you were like standing up
- 10:18Speaker 1: like you wet rocky horror Picture show.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I thought I was sitting there like, mm, girl, you
- 10:24Speaker 2: shouldn't have done that.
- 10:25Speaker 1: No, you weren't. You didn't decide you didn't really like
- 10:28Speaker 1: it until the after party when you when you accidentally
- 10:30Speaker 1: talked to the wrong Kathleen Kennedy and spoke to her
- 10:32Speaker 1: identical twin.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Why did moments like this continuously happen to me? Why
- 10:42Speaker 2: did they always happen to me?
- 10:44Speaker 1: That's you know. I feel like, if you're Kathleen Kennedy
- 10:46Speaker 1: at the Star Wars premiere, everyone's going to be coming
- 10:49Speaker 1: up to you. I just don't think the identical twin
- 10:51Speaker 1: should be invited. No, I think the identical twin has
- 10:56Speaker 1: to stay at home.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Stay home.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It's not nice at home.
- 10:59Speaker 2: It's not it's not nice to us, and it's not
- 11:02Speaker 2: nice to your sister either.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you think Chewbaca is going to show up with
- 11:05Speaker 1: his twin? No? All right? Should we talk about Scrubs five?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Six stories?
- 11:21Speaker 9: I'm not sure we made about a bunch of dogs
- 11:25Speaker 9: and nurses?
- 11:28Speaker 2: He said, he's the stories neat so yander raun here,
- 11:36Speaker 2: YadA ra here. And this was a very funny episode.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Yes, I laughed a bunch.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I left quite a bit. This has a lot of
- 11:48Speaker 2: very funny moments in it, moments that we're I'm gonna
- 11:51Speaker 2: tell you something right now. This show has officially gone
- 11:55Speaker 2: off the rails.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yes, season five is bat Ship.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Officially offish gone off the rails. It's glazy. There's some
- 12:03Speaker 2: lines in this that you know, where the fuck did
- 12:08Speaker 2: that come from?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Well? This is the jig ball, yes, which is which
- 12:13Speaker 1: is a hospital wide secret that only JD doesn't know
- 12:18Speaker 1: that they're planning on just pelting the game is pelting
- 12:22Speaker 1: JD with tennis balls.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Nobody really knows what the game is other than the janitor.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Well, they know how to play.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Nobody knows how to play. Everybody just knows that the
- 12:36Speaker 2: janitor wants them. When they're talking to JD to mention
- 12:40Speaker 2: the game jiggly ball with the orderlies. That's all they know.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Okay, well where did they learn to play?
- 12:46Speaker 2: There is no game, and that's not the game. They
- 12:50Speaker 2: just pelt you, dude.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And I'm not mad at anyone. Can you imagine this
- 12:54Speaker 1: happened in their life? And everyone where you work stood
- 12:57Speaker 1: in a line and pelted you as hard as they
- 12:59Speaker 1: could tend balls, so much so that you have wilts, Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Open swords like play paintball.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but worse because Carl is using alcohol on me,
- 13:09Speaker 1: on swabs on me, like, and and JD's not mad
- 13:11Speaker 1: at anyone, like, huh, that was crazy, guys.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Not only that he also has a freaking he also
- 13:17Speaker 2: has a coffee cup a coffee Uh what is it?
- 13:21Speaker 2: What is that? A mob pot? Yeah? A pot around
- 13:24Speaker 2: us his hand which he breaks, and now is a
- 13:27Speaker 2: bracelet that he can't get off.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yes, and you've got your arms stuck in the canning
- 13:33Speaker 1: vending machine.
- 13:34Speaker 2: That didn't make any sense.
- 13:36Speaker 1: A lot of it didn't make sense.
- 13:37Speaker 2: That didn't make any sense.
- 13:38Speaker 1: What about the whole balancing wheelchair thing, and that JD
- 13:42Speaker 1: is balancing so hard that he but but barely keeping
- 13:46Speaker 1: it up. And he does it onto the elevator, down
- 13:48Speaker 1: to the first floor, down the fucking down the ramp.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's bad ship. We are very close. I'm sensing my
- 13:58Speaker 1: Spidey sense is sensing that we are very close to
- 14:00Speaker 1: the episode where ostriches steal your can goo and wear it.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It might be coming.
- 14:07Speaker 1: That's that's how. That's how, Joelle. Will you find out
- 14:09Speaker 1: what episode that is? Yeah, I think it's something. I
- 14:12Speaker 1: think bird is in the title.
- 14:13Speaker 2: The fact that j D still has secrets, like him
- 14:17Speaker 2: being a gymnast in high school and not wanting that
- 14:20Speaker 2: to get out.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Why didn't I want it to be a gymnast to
- 14:23Speaker 1: get out? I forgot.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I don't know, but it explains a lot about it's
- 14:26Speaker 2: gonna find out.
- 14:27Speaker 6: He already calls you a girl's name any more.
- 14:30Speaker 10: Few.
- 14:30Speaker 1: By the way, this is the episode Sarah was dressed
- 14:34Speaker 1: as Turk, and it's been edited out. I don't know
- 14:36Speaker 1: if you noticed that.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I did notice that.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I it's funny it happened, and it's so seamlessly edited
- 14:41Speaker 1: out that I thought, oh, I thought this was that episode,
- 14:45Speaker 1: but no, it's been edited out and restored. My Big
- 14:49Speaker 1: Bird five oh eight is yeah, that's coming up, guys.
- 14:53Speaker 1: That is where Scrubs really goes off the rails. That's
- 14:57Speaker 1: the episode with Jason Bateman where Donald and I are
- 15:00Speaker 1: forced into a tree by ostriches acting like sentries.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 15:09Speaker 1: By the way, speaking of Bill Lawrence, I played, he
- 15:12Speaker 1: taught me how to play pick a ball.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Okay, so you have to explain this to me because
- 15:15Speaker 2: you were like, Yo, you're gonna love pickle ball.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I gotta know how lover I am.
- 15:19Speaker 2: You know this is this is a crazy first of ball. Sorry,
- 15:21Speaker 2: I want you get into your store. But this's the
- 15:22Speaker 2: craziest thing ever. Zach never hits me up about sports ever.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Right Ever, it might be the occasional, It might be
- 15:32Speaker 2: the occasional. You want to play some ping pong. This
- 15:36Speaker 2: looks like you gotta run around. There's some effort involved.
- 15:39Speaker 1: It's funny. It is like it's kind of like you're
- 15:41Speaker 1: standing on the ping pong table, okay, and you're really
- 15:44Speaker 1: good at ping pong and you love tennis and it's
- 15:47Speaker 1: a lot of fun, and everyone's talking about pick a ball.
- 15:50Speaker 1: It's basically a smaller tennis court game. If you don't
- 15:53Speaker 1: know what it is, google it. It's a lot of fun,
- 15:55Speaker 1: but it's kind of become this crazy seniors are playing
- 15:58Speaker 1: it because if you love tennis when you were younger
- 16:01Speaker 1: and your knees can't do that anymore. It's a way
- 16:03Speaker 1: like my stepmother's in her late seventies and she was
- 16:05Speaker 1: obsessed with it. And and of course people of all
- 16:08Speaker 1: ages are playing anyway. You know how when you go
- 16:10Speaker 1: see something and you like it, a movie or whatever,
- 16:12Speaker 1: a concert, and you want to call your lover and
- 16:14Speaker 1: be like, baby, you would love this. Well, that's how
- 16:18Speaker 1: I felt. As I was playing pickleball with Bill. I
- 16:21Speaker 1: leaned over to him. I leaned over to him and said,
- 16:24Speaker 1: Donald's gonna love this.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Was this while you were holding his pickle.
- 16:28Speaker 1: No, you don't. You don't hold any of the game,
- 16:31Speaker 1: at least the way he talking. But we were at
- 16:33Speaker 1: a very wasty club. Maybe at other locations you hold pickles.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Is pickleball basically picture it like a small tennis the
- 16:43Speaker 1: tennis court, but but like a quarter of the size,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and and uh it's just fast and and and the
- 16:50Speaker 1: rackets are smaller and it's a whiffle ball, so you
- 16:52Speaker 1: can like put crazy spin on the ball. Donald, You'll
- 16:54Speaker 1: fucking love it because you're a spin master. And uh
- 16:57Speaker 1: and it's it's kind of like it's I think of
- 16:59Speaker 1: it like you're standing on the ping pong table, except
- 17:01Speaker 1: obviously not that small. Okay, just google image just if
- 17:07Speaker 1: you're looking or you're listening and you're like, what the
- 17:08Speaker 1: fuck is he talking about? Just google image it and
- 17:10Speaker 1: you'll see what I'm talking about. It's a lot of fun.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I played a little bit of tennis. I'm starting to
- 17:17Speaker 2: play a lot more tennis.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Now will you play with me? Because I'm only here
- 17:20Speaker 1: for a little bit and I would love to have
- 17:21Speaker 1: some qu I think you need to get your quality
- 17:23Speaker 1: time with me in before I leave the state.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I agree with you one hundred. Why don't we make
- 17:28Speaker 2: that happen? Why don't you.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Well, I need you to manifest it. Bro okay, because
- 17:32Speaker 1: daddy's not here that long.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Come tomorrow.
- 17:34Speaker 1: You're gonna miss me come tomorrow.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Damn it to tennis. Yeah I will.
- 17:42Speaker 1: JD. Okay. So I'm fondeling you with the newly edited
- 17:45Speaker 1: moment out and I'm feeling you up. Yes, you're nice
- 17:49Speaker 1: perky bees.
- 17:51Speaker 2: They look like c's but they're really bees.
- 17:55Speaker 1: They're definitely a perky bee. Especially season. This season, you're
- 18:00Speaker 1: all trim and you've got petreles majors.
- 18:04Speaker 2: You're all trim. Now, you guys, this dude sends me
- 18:06Speaker 2: freaking photos. Enough's enough.
- 18:08Speaker 1: But I don't send them anymore because the last time
- 18:10Speaker 1: we recorded, you said that it was you were feeling
- 18:12Speaker 1: that it was too homo eerotic.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I have like six or seven of them.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I don't know who to send them to. I send
- 18:16Speaker 1: them to my girlfriend and I get appreciation, and who
- 18:19Speaker 1: else can I send them to? You? I can't send
- 18:22Speaker 1: them to like what I'm gonna do with them? Trying
- 18:25Speaker 1: to I'm trying to get an ada boy from you,
- 18:27Speaker 1: out of life. I'm just trying to get out of boys.
- 18:28Speaker 2: From you, ada boy.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Okay, So back to the show Scrubs Deadwood, we bring
- 18:35Speaker 1: up did you know cowboys used to cuse?
- 18:38Speaker 2: You know what, even if you didn't watch even if
- 18:40Speaker 2: you didn't watch the show, the reference is so JD
- 18:45Speaker 2: and turk, you know what I mean. Like, even if
- 18:47Speaker 2: you didn't watch Deadwood and you didn't know that cowboys
- 18:50Speaker 2: cursed and everything like that just the reference. Did you
- 18:52Speaker 2: know Cowboys is so non sequitary it means.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I don't know anything about what I imagine. Deadwood was
- 18:56Speaker 1: a very popular show at the time. I've never seen Deadwood,
- 18:59Speaker 1: but I.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Know the Cowboys curse.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Remember that, there's a lot of cursing. And I love
- 19:04Speaker 1: Timothy Alphon. As you know. We made a movie together
- 19:06Speaker 1: called The Broken Hearts Club. I've never seen dead What
- 19:11Speaker 1: should I see Dead with?
- 19:12Speaker 4: Yes, it's good.
- 19:13Speaker 7: Really, Oh yeah, I consider it. I consider it a
- 19:16Speaker 7: prestige HBO HBO show. How three or so three?
- 19:20Speaker 6: I think it's three, yeah, I'll double check, but not
- 19:23Speaker 6: that many.
- 19:23Speaker 1: And that was unique about it was the language, like
- 19:26Speaker 1: they didn't speak like we always think cowboys.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It was almost it was almost Shakespearean. No, they've said
- 19:33Speaker 2: ship like that too, but it was almost Shakespearean the
- 19:35Speaker 2: way they talked.
- 19:36Speaker 6: All right, yeah, three seasons.
- 19:38Speaker 5: It's on HBO Max right now if the people want
- 19:41Speaker 5: to watch it. It's it was like it was coming
- 19:43Speaker 5: out around like the time of Breaking Bad and stuff.
- 19:45Speaker 5: And it was not like the glossy sort of Western
- 19:50Speaker 5: that we were used to at the time. If you
- 19:51Speaker 5: think of like a tombstone or something like that, which
- 19:54Speaker 5: sort of like the last Westerns of the cinema age
- 19:57Speaker 5: until you know, recently, is there.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Se Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, there's a lot of news.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Well, you don't say whorehouse anymore. We will cut it,
- 20:11Speaker 1: they say, play. No, we don't. We say place where
- 20:16Speaker 1: sex workers weren't volvas. That's to say that's the that's
- 20:23Speaker 1: the appropriate way to say. I got to go to
- 20:25Speaker 1: my local Vulfa dealership. Yes, it's dann Al, it's a
- 20:34Speaker 1: Vulva dealership.
- 20:35Speaker 6: I'm prepared.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well I'm in. I started watching Bosh because
- 20:42Speaker 1: everyone said to watch what is that? Bosh is like
- 20:45Speaker 1: an l A Neon noir detective show, and my parents
- 20:51Speaker 1: were like, a lot of people are talking about it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: You know, it's like you follow a murder mystery over
- 20:56Speaker 1: the course of each season, and I like, it's okay.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I was saying, we were talking about how Jad was
- 21:05Speaker 2: a gymnast in high school, and then we kind of
- 21:07Speaker 2: left it alone. But it explains a lot about you know,
- 21:10Speaker 2: your pratfalls and all of that stuff, and how he's
- 21:12Speaker 2: able to dangle so well, and you know, you'd.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Think that he would be a bit more coordinating though
- 21:20Speaker 1: he's very uh goofy and clumsy.
- 21:23Speaker 5: I mean, how many in many schools. I'm sure there
- 21:26Speaker 5: are not enough boys to fill men's gymnastics team. So
- 21:30Speaker 5: maybe he wasn't very good, but he was still.
- 21:33Speaker 6: On the team.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I remember we had to take gymnastics and as part
- 21:36Speaker 1: of my gym his head thing, and we had to
- 21:39Speaker 1: learn a floor routine. I remember, think this is.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So Wait you had to learn a floor routine.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, in public high school in New Jersey you
- 21:48Speaker 1: had to take gymnastics, and like they set up the
- 21:51Speaker 1: whole gym with all the different things.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Wait a second.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't wear like dazzled clothing or anything.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Telling me there was a moment time where you did
- 22:01Speaker 2: a floor routine, Yes, it did. Did you do the horse? No?
- 22:06Speaker 1: But I chose No.
- 22:09Speaker 2: No, you did not.
- 22:11Speaker 10: You did not.
- 22:12Speaker 2: No, you did not know, you did not. Please tell
- 22:14Speaker 2: me this is a lie, this is true. No, we
- 22:18Speaker 2: must tell story.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Didn't we didn't pick music. We didn't pick music. But
- 22:22Speaker 1: I remember you had to, like you had to put
- 22:24Speaker 1: together a routine that was enough points, you know, and
- 22:26Speaker 1: you had to do like. But I wasn't a gymnast,
- 22:28Speaker 1: so it was ridiculous. It was like three summersaults into
- 22:30Speaker 1: a cartwheel, jump leap land. It was like so it
- 22:36Speaker 1: was like something that a beginner could do, but at
- 22:38Speaker 1: least showed that you were trying.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I'm so happy I did not go to public high
- 22:44Speaker 2: school in Jersey.
- 22:44Speaker 1: If this is what, yeah, you had to do it,
- 22:47Speaker 1: you had to.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Did anybody ever take it really serious?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Like first, there were girls particularly who were like you know,
- 22:52Speaker 1: had done gymnastics as kids, who were who were naturally amazing,
- 22:57Speaker 1: and I would try and copy them and then get hurt. Okay,
- 23:04Speaker 1: how about that girl, what's her name, Simone Biles. Yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 1: she's doing stuff that they're like, this is too dangerous
- 23:13Speaker 1: to be done. She's doing it.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yeah, not Sincinnatio. When she was standing on beams and
- 23:19Speaker 5: flipping over and stuff. I don't think they've banned a
- 23:22Speaker 5: move since then.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I was so nervous when they when they're on the
- 23:25Speaker 1: balance beam doing that stuff, like they're going to break
- 23:28Speaker 1: their spine.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Speaking of nervous energy, when people fall, do you and
- 23:32Speaker 2: you see it, do you feel it anywhere in your body?
- 23:36Speaker 1: I think I hold my neck like I'm like, oh,
- 23:38Speaker 1: my spine, your spine feels so fragile at the back
- 23:40Speaker 1: of your neck.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I feel it in my balls, even if it's a woman,
- 23:45Speaker 2: no matter who it is, no matter who falls, I
- 23:48Speaker 2: feel it in my balls.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Like do you laugh when people fall?
- 23:54Speaker 2: When it's funny? Because there's time when people fall, aw,
- 24:02Speaker 2: it's like, ooh, that looks like it really really hurt.
- 24:05Speaker 2: But then there's time we're.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Likely to laugh at an ice skater falling than a
- 24:08Speaker 1: than a gymnast.
- 24:10Speaker 2: No, not if an ice skater falls on her face.
- 24:13Speaker 1: No, but I mean when I think of Olympic gymnastics
- 24:15Speaker 1: and they fall, I feel so sad for them, but
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm more apt to giggle when an ice skater falls.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Did you ever see ice castles? Did you have see
- 24:25Speaker 2: ice castles?
- 24:25Speaker 1: No? What's ice castles?
- 24:27Speaker 2: You've never seen ice castles? Have any of you guys
- 24:29Speaker 2: ever seen ice castles?
- 24:30Speaker 4: No?
- 24:31Speaker 2: With the theme song, please don't let this feeling? And
- 24:38Speaker 2: yes you Robbie Benson, d D y'all never seen ice castle?
- 24:47Speaker 4: No idea Robbie.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You know who Robbie Benson is?
- 24:49Speaker 1: Though, right, yeah, I can picture him.
- 24:51Speaker 2: You don't know who Robbie Benson is?
- 24:53Speaker 10: I can.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I know who Robert Benson is. I'm older than they are.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Robert Benson, Robbie Benson.
- 24:57Speaker 4: From the nineteen seventy eight film Ice Castle.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Of course he had blue eyes. I remember he had
- 25:02Speaker 1: really blue eyes.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Right. He was also the Beast's voice. He was also
- 25:07Speaker 2: the Beast's voice.
- 25:08Speaker 4: He was And.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Because I can't picture his face, Robbie Benson.
- 25:15Speaker 4: Yeah, he was in.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Movies. Whether't hen in bank shot or something like that.
- 25:21Speaker 4: He is also in most extreme primate. That's sick.
- 25:24Speaker 6: He's a running brave and the chosen and.
- 25:27Speaker 4: What this guy's This guy has a dude, he works.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, gotta you gotta google old images
- 25:35Speaker 1: to get his face.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't remember Robert y'all a freaking hate.
- 25:39Speaker 1: He is shirtless here he is shirtless with the surfboard guys.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Anyway, Ice Castles, it's a movie about this girl from
- 25:48Speaker 2: a small, small, small small town. She's an ice skater.
- 25:52Speaker 2: She has her chance to make it all the way
- 25:55Speaker 2: to the Olympics or some ship like that, and one
- 25:58Speaker 2: night and she forgets about every body from her town.
- 26:01Speaker 2: It's a lot like La La Land, except one night
- 26:04Speaker 2: she's out freaking ice skating and she falls and hits
- 26:09Speaker 2: her head and goes blind, and it's her trying to
- 26:11Speaker 2: figure out how to you know, get it all back?
- 26:15Speaker 1: Please does it? Don't let this feeling and with her
- 26:19Speaker 1: doing the big ice skating routine blind.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You already saw it.
- 26:24Speaker 1: No, I'm guessing what he obvious answer of the plot
- 26:28Speaker 1: would be.
- 26:29Speaker 2: You just saw the movie.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Did does everyone give her a standing ovation and someone
- 26:32Speaker 1: has to like let her know that she's done it
- 26:34Speaker 1: and everyone's happy.
- 26:37Speaker 2: There's a really sad moment that happens when she gets
- 26:39Speaker 2: a standing ovation.
- 26:40Speaker 1: As she does get a standing ovation, doesn't she she does?
- 26:43Speaker 2: They even throw roses and what happens?
- 26:45Speaker 1: What happens?
- 26:46Speaker 2: What do you think happens?
- 26:47Speaker 1: She falls again and then she gets her.
- 26:50Speaker 2: She falls on the roses. That's right, she slips and
- 26:53Speaker 2: falls on the roses.
- 26:53Speaker 1: And gets her site back.
- 26:55Speaker 2: No, does she die, but Robbie Benson comes out on
- 26:59Speaker 2: the on the she.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Dies, and then there's a sequel where she learns how
- 27:02Speaker 1: to fucking still skate while dead as a ghost. They
- 27:11Speaker 1: animated very there is no back to the show Scrubs everybody.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Colonel Doctor is finally introduced.
- 27:34Speaker 2: He is introduced. Not only is he introduced, but we
- 27:37Speaker 2: explain why we call him Colonel doctor.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yes, it's the okay sign? Is that a is that
- 27:42Speaker 1: a colonel Colonel Sanders thing? Did he used to do that?
- 27:45Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't remember he does this in.
- 27:48Speaker 1: The show, which now I think he's like a KKK
- 27:50Speaker 1: thing white power? Isn't this white power?
- 27:53Speaker 10: Now?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Joe is well, I don't know why Colonel Doctors throwing
- 27:56Speaker 1: up fucking white power signs.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Was thick and it's new.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Maybe it's upside down the white power. No, it's you
- 28:07Speaker 1: can't really do okay anymore. It's out.
- 28:10Speaker 2: You can do okay, you can't do white.
- 28:14Speaker 5: It's best not to do it and just not. You know,
- 28:17Speaker 5: people are trying to People are like, is that what
- 28:19Speaker 5: it means?
- 28:20Speaker 6: And it is what it means.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I think we just got to stay away from the okay.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I mean, not that I was ever anyone throwing the
- 28:26Speaker 1: okay sign. I mean have you ever thrown an okay
- 28:30Speaker 1: sign in your life?
- 28:31Speaker 10: Yes?
- 28:32Speaker 1: How you doing? Man?
- 28:33Speaker 2: No, I'm okay.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I've never done that.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Nobody here sounds good to me.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Never done this, yeah, probably back in my softball years, but.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I have never done this in my life. Well there
- 28:47Speaker 1: you go, how are you okay?
- 28:52Speaker 6: Sucking corn?
- 28:53Speaker 1: And yet I'm still mad about it. I'm still mad
- 28:55Speaker 1: that they've co opted it and we can't use it.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so we should talk about something else that
- 29:00Speaker 2: they co opted and that can't be used again. Sooba
- 29:04Speaker 2: Boba Fett's ship is no longer called Slave one anymore. Well,
- 29:09Speaker 2: they call it now Boba fet Starship. What's the name
- 29:13Speaker 2: of the ship? And name? Why?
- 29:16Speaker 1: The star one?
- 29:18Speaker 2: Because that was what he chose it to be called
- 29:20Speaker 2: Slave one. It's it's a galaxy that has slaves and
- 29:25Speaker 2: everything like that in it, and his ship just so
- 29:27Speaker 2: happens to be Slave one. Robot Chicken does a great
- 29:31Speaker 2: does a great freaking sketch where Lando and Boba Fett
- 29:34Speaker 2: are standing at the doors of Cloud City and Lando
- 29:37Speaker 2: goes to Boba fett great ship, Boba. I'm not sure
- 29:41Speaker 2: about the name though.
- 29:47Speaker 1: That's interesting. Yeah, I saw what Donald's talking about. There's
- 29:50Speaker 1: toy on the toys. On the box of the toys,
- 29:52Speaker 1: they've removed the name slave one.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Okay, that's interesting.
- 29:57Speaker 1: All right, We'll be right back to talk about more
- 29:59Speaker 1: chi These words.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And Elliot's high pitch scream that shit was funny, especially
- 30:14Speaker 2: when she does it and you don't understand the word.
- 30:15Speaker 2: She says, Yeah, Carla does that had me rolling?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Carla translates for her. What about when the janitor says,
- 30:22Speaker 1: my TV doesn't get the news, just the Bible channel
- 30:24Speaker 1: and some kind of Chinese boxing. Yeah, I don't even
- 30:28Speaker 1: know what that means. I think Neils came up with
- 30:30Speaker 1: that on the spot.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Just like you came up with I can't feel I
- 30:35Speaker 2: don't know. I'm not even saying this this right, Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 2: what is the what is the actual line?
- 30:40Speaker 1: I say?
- 30:41Speaker 2: I think there may be something wrong with her.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Might be something wrong with my spine because I'm not
- 30:45Speaker 1: even doing that right. That's definitely one of my jokes
- 30:48Speaker 1: because I've done that before with you, Like I'm not
- 30:51Speaker 1: even telling my leg to do this right now, and
- 30:53Speaker 1: like I'm dancing.
- 30:54Speaker 2: But where did that come from? That came out of nowhere?
- 30:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:57Speaker 1: It's just does z b random.
- 30:59Speaker 2: This whole episode has a bunch of random shit in
- 31:02Speaker 2: so Kelso hides as a painting. Are you kidding me?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he has a mural he hides in the mirror.
- 31:10Speaker 1: By the way, they just threw up the mural randomly,
- 31:13Speaker 1: and we're all supposed to just assume the mural has
- 31:15Speaker 1: always been there. But we've seen that wall a thousand
- 31:17Speaker 1: times and there's no mural on it. But in this
- 31:18Speaker 1: episode there's a mural.
- 31:19Speaker 2: There isn't it there for the rest of the run.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I think they probably left it up for the season
- 31:24Speaker 1: at least, But like all of a sudden in this episode,
- 31:26Speaker 1: because they clearly came up with the joke in the
- 31:28Speaker 1: writer's room, they just decided, oh, now there's an elaborately
- 31:31Speaker 1: painted mural on the side of the hospital.
- 31:36Speaker 2: We learned that.
- 31:36Speaker 1: We learned that Kelso was in NOAM and that in
- 31:39Speaker 1: NOM they pulled out his fingernails.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 31:43Speaker 1: We also learned that he was caught cheating and forced
- 31:48Speaker 1: a diamond stud earring into Yes, but he kept in
- 31:55Speaker 1: We see it bleeding. That's how That's how much he
- 31:57Speaker 1: didn't wanted to know that he likes to sleep with
- 32:01Speaker 1: Vulva rentals.
- 32:05Speaker 6: It's a callback.
- 32:11Speaker 2: But this is how Elliott gets her job back at
- 32:13Speaker 2: the end of it all.
- 32:14Speaker 1: You know, yes, because she catches him. Now, why would
- 32:17Speaker 1: Kelso go to a free clinic? I mean, I feel
- 32:19Speaker 1: like he could probably write his own prescription for to
- 32:22Speaker 1: get rid of VD.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I don't know, and doctors write their own prescriptions. I
- 32:28Speaker 2: don't know they I don't know.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Are they not allowed that?
- 32:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Can you look that up? Guys like, did you let
- 32:34Speaker 1: doctor and you get VD? Are you not allowed to
- 32:36Speaker 1: write yourself a prescription for VD? Begone medicine?
- 32:44Speaker 2: Hey, so I have a I have a I have
- 32:46Speaker 2: a question. Were you laughing when Elliot said are they
- 32:51Speaker 2: Are they trying not to laugh at the word duty? Yeah?
- 32:53Speaker 1: I was definitely laughing.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I was laughing. I was laughing too, I was literally them.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Duty is a funny word when someone just brings it
- 33:02Speaker 1: up out of nowhere. So right, I mean, you can't
- 33:05Speaker 1: just say duty these days and not expect people to laugh. Right,
- 33:12Speaker 1: It's just a word. It's just not fashionable to say anymore.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Do you have people in your life that use duty
- 33:22Speaker 1: not as a fecal matter term?
- 33:27Speaker 2: No? Not as Yeah, no, my kids use it as
- 33:30Speaker 2: a fecal matter term all the time. But no, I'm.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Saying, when do you have anyone in your life who's like, like,
- 33:36Speaker 1: every time I passed duty free in the airport, and
- 33:41Speaker 1: I make the same joke, either to myself or to
- 33:43Speaker 1: my girlfriend, I wish I.
- 33:44Speaker 4: Was duty free.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Now, if you're listening. Every time you pass duty free,
- 33:52Speaker 1: I want you to turn to your friend or significant
- 33:55Speaker 1: other and say, I wish I was duty free. Under
- 34:00Speaker 1: federal law, Donald, physicians in the United States are not
- 34:02Speaker 1: prohibited from self prescribing medications. State laws governing physicians, however,
- 34:07Speaker 1: may vary greatly, and some may prohibit physicians from prescribing, dispensing,
- 34:12Speaker 1: or administering certain medications to themselves or family members. Guess
- 34:15Speaker 1: it depends on where you live.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Donald. Okay, so let's talk about the theme of this episode.
- 34:19Speaker 2: The theme of this episode really is, you know, at
- 34:23Speaker 2: least the a storyline is that Kelso really doesn't care
- 34:26Speaker 2: once he leaves the hospital, or that he puts up
- 34:28Speaker 2: a front like my all my troubles are gone once
- 34:34Speaker 2: I get out of here.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yes, I leave it all at the office.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Do you feel like you have that in your life?
- 34:41Speaker 2: Any of you? Any of you can answer this question,
- 34:44Speaker 2: But do you feel like you have that in your
- 34:46Speaker 2: life now? Like when you're done with work, don't you
- 34:49Speaker 2: feel like there's still more work to be done.
- 34:52Speaker 6: I have not mastered this craft.
- 34:54Speaker 5: My father has a downpack and he, like for a
- 34:57Speaker 5: long time, has been like you got you gotta get it.
- 34:59Speaker 5: You gotta figure how to just leave it at the
- 35:01Speaker 5: door so you can just go on and live the
- 35:03Speaker 5: rest of your life. And I don't know how my
- 35:06Speaker 5: email is dinging and I'm worried about did everything get done?
- 35:10Speaker 5: And did everyone have a good time? And are we
- 35:12Speaker 5: coming in on bud? Like it's just I can't I
- 35:15Speaker 5: don't know how.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Same can't not respond.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah, what about those people you send an email to
- 35:20Speaker 1: and they don't reply till like Monday morning. I've never
- 35:23Speaker 1: been that guy.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Like, when's the last time you went on a vacation,
- 35:27Speaker 2: a real vacation where you were like, I'm not even
- 35:30Speaker 2: gonna answer my phone. Nobody's gonna hit me up.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I never do that.
- 35:33Speaker 2: It never doesn't happen. It doesn't happen, right, I never.
- 35:36Speaker 1: I mean, even if I'm on some beautiful beach somewhere,
- 35:39Speaker 1: I have my phone with me, I don't not reply
- 35:40Speaker 1: to an email. But that would be probably good to do.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I know my my shrink does that. He tells me
- 35:46Speaker 1: that he he goes like for like ten days or
- 35:49Speaker 1: two weeks once a year, and he doesn't. He puts
- 35:52Speaker 1: his phone in the hotel safe and his wife has
- 35:56Speaker 1: a phone in case you know, there's emergency, she can
- 35:59Speaker 1: be reached, and he doesn't look at his phone for
- 36:00Speaker 1: like that long. That's I can't imagine doing that.
- 36:04Speaker 6: It sounds really nice, I aspire.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I think it would make me anxious, right, But then
- 36:12Speaker 2: Kelso can come to work the next day and then
- 36:14Speaker 2: go through everything he goes through, and then once again
- 36:17Speaker 2: turn it off once he leaves. Well.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I think also he's talking about the decisions that this
- 36:22Speaker 1: man has to make. They're trying to human Bill I
- 36:25Speaker 1: think is obviously trying to humanize Kelso a bit here
- 36:27Speaker 1: and say, the decisions that he has to make are
- 36:31Speaker 1: so enormous, and he has to look at the greater good.
- 36:35Speaker 1: So the fact that he has to kiss the ass
- 36:38Speaker 1: of this potential financial donor who could if that person
- 36:44Speaker 1: is happy, then give money to reopen the neonatal unit.
- 36:48Speaker 1: He has to make these giant life and death decisions
- 36:52Speaker 1: and and and in a way he can't. He couldn't
- 36:57Speaker 1: function if he didn't find some coping mechanism, some way
- 37:00Speaker 1: to leave it all on the front steps. But we
- 37:05Speaker 1: see in the end that that's not true. He's still right,
- 37:08Speaker 1: he is human. I think this is you know, this
- 37:11Speaker 1: is a beautiful episode for Ken. He was incredible, but
- 37:14Speaker 1: you really see that he's uh, he's he's putting on
- 37:17Speaker 1: a facade that we the younger doctors might see him
- 37:22Speaker 1: as heartless, but he's actually putting on a front.
- 37:28Speaker 2: It was actually a really good episode. Like, you know,
- 37:30Speaker 2: I was dreading when we got to this point in
- 37:34Speaker 2: the show when the show started to get wacky and
- 37:37Speaker 2: and silly, because our jokes were genuine before this, like
- 37:43Speaker 2: they were genuine jokes that we earned, and now we're
- 37:46Speaker 2: just making slapstick. We're being you know, we're being really goofy,
- 37:50Speaker 2: And I was worried that I wasn't gonna like the
- 37:52Speaker 2: show when we got here. But I'm laughing really, really hard.
- 37:55Speaker 2: And somehow there's still moments in the show that may
- 38:00Speaker 2: you say, oh shit, that's right, this is Scrubs.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Do you think do you so far? Do you think?
- 38:05Speaker 1: I mean, I look at season five, is noticing a turn.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I mean, Billy will even say he had to find
- 38:11Speaker 1: a way to make it new and it's interesting for himself.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But I noticed that it's taking a sillier turn. But
- 38:18Speaker 1: I am still really enjoying this season.
- 38:20Speaker 2: That's what I mean, That's what I mean, I'm still
- 38:22Speaker 2: laughing so hard. You know, I was afraid that I
- 38:25Speaker 2: wouldn't be I was afraid that I was going to
- 38:26Speaker 2: be like, oh man, this is come on.
- 38:28Speaker 11: Man.
- 38:29Speaker 2: We look at us just not really and we're not
- 38:33Speaker 2: phoning it in, but we're like so, I.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Don't know I'm phoning in. If we were phoning it in,
- 38:38Speaker 1: I think then that would be a reason to be like, oh,
- 38:41Speaker 1: this has jumped the shark. What it is is just
- 38:43Speaker 1: it's a it's a tone shift a bit so far.
- 38:46Speaker 2: But everybody is so gun ho with this time.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah, because we're all excited and we're all clearly finding
- 38:50Speaker 1: it funny. I mean, what about chest hands?
- 38:52Speaker 2: Right, Okay, we go to a fantasy.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Where I've had Elliott's hands put on my chest. Yes,
- 38:58Speaker 1: she's got stubs yeah yeah, wrists, yes, and she can
- 39:03Speaker 1: enjoy the popcorn so I have to feed her, yes,
- 39:07Speaker 1: with my chest hands.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yes. What about the pool, the four pool joke? What
- 39:11Speaker 2: is it?
- 39:12Speaker 11: Uh?
- 39:12Speaker 2: Well with something the hotties at the pool. There ain't
- 39:15Speaker 2: no women at the pool. There's always women at the pool,
- 39:17Speaker 2: not the ymc A pool on Sundays. There you go,
- 39:21Speaker 2: you could go there. You ever been to the YMC
- 39:23Speaker 2: a pool on Mannight, It is like, what the hell, dude.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Well, I have no idea. It's just a I guess
- 39:30Speaker 1: it's a gay night at the YMC. A joke.
- 39:33Speaker 2: No, yes, that is. It is a gay joke. Yes,
- 39:36Speaker 2: but it's like it comes out of nowhere, out of nowhere.
- 39:39Speaker 2: None of these jokes.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of it's out of nowhere. What about
- 39:42Speaker 1: when I say I would never swim in a ponds serpents?
- 39:47Speaker 2: Come on, what do we do doing?
- 39:53Speaker 1: And I'm sitting here laughing my ass off. It's funny.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Who cares exactly? Well, exactly I want for the for
- 40:01Speaker 2: the fans. From the for the fans point of view,
- 40:03Speaker 2: I wonder if they could tell the tonal shift. I'm
- 40:06Speaker 2: sure they can, of course, but.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I mean, think about it with shows that you watch
- 40:08Speaker 1: that aren't one that you started, and you go, oh, yeah,
- 40:12Speaker 1: this season's a little different. I'm sensing they shifted a
- 40:15Speaker 1: little bit, but I'm still enjoying it, you know, Right
- 40:18Speaker 1: with Mandalorian and your favorite show, I think like, well,
- 40:21Speaker 1: I was about to definitely definitely changed tones for me
- 40:24Speaker 1: a bit. I was still enjoying it, but it wasn't
- 40:26Speaker 1: exactly the same show in my opinion.
- 40:28Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say. I was going
- 40:30Speaker 2: to say, it really does. Usually when shows shift tonally
- 40:35Speaker 2: the show has jumped the shark, or is it's over.
- 40:38Speaker 2: I feel like we still have ton of story to tell.
- 40:40Speaker 2: It's just going to be a new way of us
- 40:42Speaker 2: telling it.
- 40:42Speaker 1: We were talking about Dave the show before you came
- 40:46Speaker 1: on the air, and which I think is fucking amazing.
- 40:50Speaker 1: But definitely there's a slight shift this year's this season
- 40:53Speaker 1: so far, it's even darker and weirder. But I'm still
- 40:56Speaker 1: enjoying the hell out of it. Right.
- 40:58Speaker 2: My point is, I feel like it's rare that it's
- 41:00Speaker 2: like that. And I was so worried that when we
- 41:02Speaker 2: got here, I was gonna be like, maybe this isn't
- 41:04Speaker 2: the show that I thought it was. But it still is.
- 41:06Speaker 2: It's funny. We still you know, it might be cartoony,
- 41:09Speaker 2: but it's so funny it maybe it makes me laugh
- 41:11Speaker 2: so hard.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I think we were all having a blast. I mean,
- 41:13Speaker 1: I think that's why it shows. We were just we
- 41:16Speaker 1: were having a lot of fun.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but even my wife is still laughing. My wife says,
- 41:21Speaker 2: she like, what the hell is going on here? But
- 41:23Speaker 2: she's laughing so hard, you know, and she's the and
- 41:26Speaker 2: she's and she's my you know, what is it my.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Meter barometer, your barometer?
- 41:31Speaker 2: Thank you, she's my barometer on what's funny and what's
- 41:33Speaker 2: not funny. Because if she laughs, I know there has
- 41:35Speaker 2: to be some funniness to it. And she's cracking up.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Yeah, their intimate is for serpents, the.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Serpent?
- 41:44Speaker 1: What about the What about the doctor who says I'm
- 41:49Speaker 1: gonna have to numb you?
- 41:50Speaker 2: No, no, no, no numb no no no. That was
- 41:57Speaker 2: another that was a joke before where okay, so it
- 42:01Speaker 2: was I gotta I got a case of doctor please,
- 42:03Speaker 2: I got a case of the gotta seums. Remember that
- 42:06Speaker 2: one where Elliot's showing everybody her boobs in the hospital.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's early on.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Right, So I got a case of the God of seams.
- 42:12Speaker 2: One of the other jokes, one of the alternates, was
- 42:14Speaker 2: I got a case of the numb numbs. And she
- 42:16Speaker 2: goes the numb numbs, he goes, yesum, number numb.
- 42:27Speaker 1: What about when the janitor goes, I'm busy cleaning and
- 42:30Speaker 1: then everyone just starts laughing. But I can't decide if
- 42:35Speaker 1: he's meant to be a good janitor because I think
- 42:37Speaker 1: he's I don't.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Know, well, he's definitely a leader. He's definitely definitely a
- 42:43Speaker 2: leader if he can get all of these people together
- 42:45Speaker 2: for Jiggly Ball.
- 42:47Speaker 1: No, he's well connected, obviously, but he makes so many
- 42:53Speaker 1: jokes about all the work he doesn't do. But he
- 42:55Speaker 1: seems to always be working. Yeah, but then he has
- 42:58Speaker 1: a lot of side projects.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Yeah, the Squirrel Army, but that was season two.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm sure he still has and maintains his
- 43:10Speaker 1: Squirrel Army. Or does he sell it? I think he
- 43:11Speaker 1: mentioned selling.
- 43:12Speaker 2: It for for I don't know. I don't want to
- 43:15Speaker 2: be wrong. Let's ask Trevor. Can we ask Trevor?
- 43:18Speaker 6: He does so, that's an episode we already covered. He
- 43:21Speaker 6: does so. He sells the Squirrel Army to.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Stephen.
- 43:30Speaker 6: I thought it was for Elliott. I'll look it up.
- 43:32Speaker 6: It's here somewhere.
- 43:33Speaker 1: I think it was to buy Steven.
- 43:36Speaker 2: No, he owed, Is that what it was? Because he
- 43:40Speaker 2: owed he owed, uh, Carla a favor or something like that,
- 43:47Speaker 2: because he was scared. I don't know, I don't remember.
- 43:49Speaker 2: It's crazy how we were going over this show and
- 43:52Speaker 2: already we're forgetting what we went over.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Well, we don't. We don't have the greatest memories you
- 43:56Speaker 1: and I put together.
- 43:59Speaker 6: You know you are right, Zach.
- 44:01Speaker 5: The Squirrel Army is subsequently traded over the internet for Steven,
- 44:03Speaker 5: the replacement for Rowdy.
- 44:05Speaker 1: There you go. One of those smokes, a lot of
- 44:07Speaker 1: whed and one, doesn't.
- 44:13Speaker 2: You know, Zach, when we put our heads together, we
- 44:15Speaker 2: really come up with nothing.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Yep, one one equal zero. All right? Should we go
- 44:20Speaker 1: to break and then we'll have a guest. We'll be
- 44:23Speaker 1: right back. I'm sorry, Donald, Sorry, Donald, I'm just sitting down.
- 44:35Speaker 6: It's just Zach's abs.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Everybody.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Donald, did you shift? Did you shift?
- 44:43Speaker 2: I didn't shift.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I got into one day.
- 44:49Speaker 2: I'm trying to get into those ab crevices with you. Dick.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 44:58Speaker 2: I like it.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Ah, come straight to the top.
- 45:05Speaker 1: You have creamble in there. That was good. All right,
- 45:08Speaker 1: we have a caller. Let's bring them in. My friend
- 45:10Speaker 1: Daniel got a.
- 45:12Speaker 11: Game you can talk to, you know, like a bottle smoke.
- 45:19Speaker 11: Some maybe talking about the episode. So come on, let's
- 45:25Speaker 11: get the show off.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, get it up. For Ryan, Hi, I
- 45:43Speaker 2: he been g rated today. Ryan. For you? You got
- 45:46Speaker 2: your kiddos with you for a little while.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Hi guys, how are you? Welcome to the program?
- 45:52Speaker 2: Hi?
- 45:53Speaker 10: Hi everyone?
- 45:55Speaker 1: And what's your Is that your wife's name?
- 45:57Speaker 10: I'm assuming.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Ryan and Lynn have two adorable children on their laps,
- 46:03Speaker 1: so Donald will not say anything inappropriate.
- 46:07Speaker 6: Really going to town on these pretzels.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Where are you guys? Where are you guys? Call us
- 46:13Speaker 1: from San Diego?
- 46:15Speaker 2: No, San Diego the.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Most beautiful place. It's the most beautiful place. I mean,
- 46:21Speaker 1: it's really where God invented. It's really where God wanted
- 46:25Speaker 1: us to live.
- 46:25Speaker 10: Yeah, definitely, you.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Know it's the perfect temperature always, it's the most beautiful place.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Oh.
- 46:32Speaker 10: I was representing as well too.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Nice. I like that Star Wars and the herse. What
- 46:39Speaker 2: do I keep saying in there?
- 46:42Speaker 6: Stuck on it?
- 46:43Speaker 2: Now? I know why.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I have an idea why you might be doing that.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Do you want to know? Yeah, yeah, you're stuck on
- 46:55Speaker 1: it like it's like this particular episode, it's become your
- 46:57Speaker 1: what you're talking about?
- 46:58Speaker 2: Willis to talk about Will list A dal Shoon.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Okay, Ryan, welcome to the program. Do you have a
- 47:05Speaker 1: question for us? Yeah?
- 47:06Speaker 10: I was gonna start with showing you guys a picture
- 47:09Speaker 10: a little bit first, it's my profile pol in a
- 47:16Speaker 10: little bit.
- 47:17Speaker 6: It looks like tall doctor, but it's tall graduate.
- 47:20Speaker 10: Yes, it is indeed a little bit of my background.
- 47:25Speaker 10: I am a physical therapist, but as of this year,
- 47:28Speaker 10: stay home dad for obvious reasons. That picture was about
- 47:34Speaker 10: a week or so before my Pet School graduation when
- 47:37Speaker 10: we got our gowns, and that was with one of
- 47:39Speaker 10: my best friends from Pet School, Albert Uh. He and
- 47:43Speaker 10: I were big fans of the show, and we looked
- 47:45Speaker 10: at each other and said, world's most giant doctor of
- 47:49Speaker 10: physical therapy.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Nice man. I appreciate the shout out. And you're clearly
- 47:56Speaker 1: a Star Wars fan, which Donald Will and Joel will appreciate.
- 47:59Speaker 10: Yes, as biggest fans of you guys.
- 48:01Speaker 1: But yes, yes, you can't stump them. Do you know
- 48:03Speaker 1: what the name of Boba FET's ship that was just
- 48:06Speaker 1: changed because of the of the name of the ship.
- 48:08Speaker 1: It was just changed to something else. I do It
- 48:12Speaker 1: was slave one. That's the level of knowledge I have. Yeah,
- 48:19Speaker 1: all right, Ryan, get ahead. Do you have a question
- 48:21Speaker 1: for us?
- 48:21Speaker 2: You just make me angry sometimes.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I know I love you, just love just hold it
- 48:26Speaker 1: in y.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:28Speaker 10: My question, Uh kind of ties into my career story.
- 48:32Speaker 10: As well too a little bit. But you know, of
- 48:35Speaker 10: course of the pandemic, that has been a career shift
- 48:38Speaker 10: for me. But I've also had another career shift and
- 48:42Speaker 10: actually going into physical therapy. Uh. You know, I always
- 48:45Speaker 10: knew I wanted to go into medicine and be a
- 48:47Speaker 10: healthcare provider, but my wife was one who kind of
- 48:51Speaker 10: directed me towards, uh, physical therapy. We started dating when
- 48:54Speaker 10: she has a second year medical student and I was
- 48:57Speaker 10: studying to go into medical school. But I just saw
- 49:00Speaker 10: the rigor and you know how much she was studying
- 49:02Speaker 10: for her board exams, and you know, I kind of thought,
- 49:06Speaker 10: I don't know if I wanted that kind of lifestyle.
- 49:10Speaker 10: And so she had worked amongst physical therapists in the
- 49:13Speaker 10: hospital while she was rotating, and yeah, she kind of
- 49:16Speaker 10: steered me that direction. And you know, I haven't looked
- 49:19Speaker 10: back since and havn't regretted my decision. You know, I'm
- 49:21Speaker 10: still in the healthcare field, got my doctorate of course, still,
- 49:26Speaker 10: So I was just wondering for you guys, was there
- 49:28Speaker 10: any moment in your guys' careers or was like a
- 49:30Speaker 10: role or anything that caused you guys to kind of
- 49:33Speaker 10: like shift or change career path a little bit.
- 49:39Speaker 2: No, you know, I Hm, I always knew I wanted
- 49:42Speaker 2: to be an actor. Since I was five. I had
- 49:46Speaker 2: been saying, you know, I'm going to be an actor
- 49:47Speaker 2: when I get older. That was one thing that all
- 49:50Speaker 2: my when my friends were like, I don't know what
- 49:53Speaker 2: I want to do, I was very clear on it,
- 49:56Speaker 2: and I had already started making moves to make that
- 49:58Speaker 2: dream come true at a very young age. You know,
- 50:01Speaker 2: I talk about stop motion a lot on this podcast.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And.
- 50:06Speaker 2: You know, I like to think that would have been
- 50:09Speaker 2: my career path if I had not. Animation would have
- 50:12Speaker 2: been my career path if I had not chosen to
- 50:15Speaker 2: be an actor. But there's never been a moment where
- 50:17Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, I'm just going to
- 50:18Speaker 2: shift careers and change what I do or what I
- 50:22Speaker 2: want to do, because it's always been acting.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Yeah me too, man, I can't say that I know
- 50:28Speaker 1: that's been a Choosing careers can be really stressful and
- 50:32Speaker 1: confusing for a lot of people. I guess I've been
- 50:35Speaker 1: always blessed that the second I knew it was a job,
- 50:38Speaker 1: I've said on here, the second I saw my dad
- 50:39Speaker 1: doing a community theater for fun. He was a trial attorney,
- 50:43Speaker 1: but his hobby was doing the local plays. And I
- 50:45Speaker 1: was like eight years old, and I remember thinking like,
- 50:47Speaker 1: wait a second, hold on, this is a job, like
- 50:50Speaker 1: you can do this, This could be something that you're
- 50:52Speaker 1: allowed to do and you make money doing this. I never,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I never, I never looked back. I knew that I
- 50:56Speaker 1: would somehow be involved in trying attempting to entertain people
- 51:03Speaker 1: really well with it, Thank you so much. I've liked
- 51:06Speaker 1: physical therapists. It feels nice. Oh god, it does right
- 51:09Speaker 1: when they get into that spot. I had a I
- 51:11Speaker 1: had a rotator cuff injury from skin.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I have a rotator cuff injury right now.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Dude, baby said, listen, you gotta take a thera gun
- 51:19Speaker 1: and put it on there. My therapist is the one
- 51:21Speaker 1: who introduced me to the thera gun. I didn't know
- 51:24Speaker 1: if they're a sponsor on here anymore. They used to be,
- 51:26Speaker 1: but they that's that's a great product. And it felt
- 51:30Speaker 1: so nice when he did it.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, Yeah, could you just
- 51:34Speaker 2: go on like this hurts?
- 51:36Speaker 1: I feel it, but I but the doctor told me
- 51:38Speaker 1: eventually He's like I did everything. I did everything you
- 51:40Speaker 1: can do. PRP is that what's something Ryan. I did
- 51:44Speaker 1: everything you can do, and he said, the only thing
- 51:46Speaker 1: I have to do is surgery, and he goes, you
- 51:47Speaker 1: don't want to have shoulder surgery. It's a fucking nightmare.
- 51:49Speaker 2: So I just live with it. Surgery is one of
- 51:52Speaker 2: those things that they sometimes don't get it right.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Huh No, it's just that well Ryan can answer, but
- 51:57Speaker 1: that I do. But he said, you're at least six
- 51:59Speaker 1: months in a sling and I was like, I'm good.
- 52:01Speaker 10: M Yeah, yeah, you want custods, especially if you're active.
- 52:06Speaker 1: And yeah, he said, he said, you know you have
- 52:08Speaker 1: to peel. You have to peel the muscle back to
- 52:11Speaker 1: fix it and then put it back. And he's like,
- 52:12Speaker 1: this is if you can operate with it, and you're
- 52:14Speaker 1: just He's like, just don't do that. So I don't
- 52:18Speaker 1: raise my hand anymore. Right, Basically, if you called upon yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 1: if I have a question, I go left you all right, Ryan,
- 52:28Speaker 1: you got another question for us?
- 52:29Speaker 2: I do.
- 52:30Speaker 10: And this one actually is directly related to an episode
- 52:33Speaker 10: of Scrubs. The episode was in season eight, which I
- 52:36Speaker 10: know is a little bit further along or you guys
- 52:38Speaker 10: are The episode was my cousin you guys recall that
- 52:42Speaker 10: episode or not, But that one involved the Wiener cous pledge.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Wien your cousin.
- 52:48Speaker 10: Yes, yes, that had to be one of the funniest
- 52:51Speaker 10: episodes of TV I've ever watched at any show.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Thank you, of course. And do you have Wiener cousins
- 52:58Speaker 1: in your line?
- 52:58Speaker 2: I was about to say, do you have a winder Custer?
- 53:00Speaker 1: This is leading to you having a Wiener cousin.
- 53:01Speaker 2: I hope this, I truly hope. This means that you
- 53:04Speaker 2: have locked, you have docked.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Yes, no, no your cousin. Yeah, Wien your cousin is
- 53:09Speaker 1: not docking. Donald, It means that you have connected. No,
- 53:14Speaker 1: you don't recall. It means that you have occupied the
- 53:18Speaker 1: same volva.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Not at the same time, but.
- 53:25Speaker 1: No, no, at different times, at different time. Yes. So, Ryan,
- 53:32Speaker 1: is this leading to you having a share a volva
- 53:36Speaker 1: volva with a friends story because we love those?
- 53:38Speaker 2: No.
- 53:40Speaker 10: Not, but I was just dying with laughter when they
- 53:45Speaker 10: were showing all the background players, especially Colonel Doctor and
- 53:48Speaker 10: Snoop Dogg residents at this time. Yeah. Uh, they were
- 53:53Speaker 10: enacting the you know bow or plag the shape right uh.
- 53:58Speaker 10: And what got me was us the last scene when
- 54:01Speaker 10: it was Kelso and the janitor and acting these.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I don't even remember. We haven't gotten that far. Donald
- 54:08Speaker 1: and I are not Wien your cousins.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Okay, No, I don't think we don't and I don't
- 54:12Speaker 2: know that we will ever be Wiener cousins.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Well now I can say that we won't be.
- 54:16Speaker 2: But well, you never know.
- 54:18Speaker 1: You might we might have been Wiener cousins and not
- 54:20Speaker 1: known it.
- 54:21Speaker 2: You might jump back into my past and get with
- 54:24Speaker 2: some of the young hotties that I grew up with,
- 54:29Speaker 2: or I don't know.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I don't think that's in my future, but.
- 54:33Speaker 2: I don't think it is.
- 54:34Speaker 1: It's pretty hard to be you know, I I you know,
- 54:37Speaker 1: I think good friends have a rule saying that obviously
- 54:41Speaker 1: things happen accidentally. You didn't know that you that you
- 54:46Speaker 1: that you had you had vacated that particular.
- 54:49Speaker 10: Volv Well, I was just wanted to find out who
- 54:55Speaker 10: you guys thought was there Kelso and the janitors.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Oh that's a good question. Who would Kelso and John
- 55:03Speaker 1: Nitder have both been with Laverne? Yeah, Oh my gosh,
- 55:10Speaker 1: gotta be Laverne at the pool party, at the above
- 55:13Speaker 1: ground pool party, Oh my gosh. Because we never know
- 55:17Speaker 1: what goes down at those above ground pool parties and
- 55:20Speaker 1: we assume that it's definitely sexual and that there's drugs involved.
- 55:26Speaker 2: That's hilarious. A bunch of doctors high on drugs. Fucking
- 55:32Speaker 2: you can't beat that with a baseball.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love that. That would be a great
- 55:35Speaker 1: Everyone's like, make a Scrubs movie. I would make the
- 55:37Speaker 1: above Ground I would make the LaVerne's above Ground pool
- 55:41Speaker 1: party movie.
- 55:42Speaker 2: The movie's basically a comedy for the first forty five minutes,
- 55:45Speaker 2: and it's just straight porn for the last minutes.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I don't know if Aloma Wright's going to be down
- 55:51Speaker 1: with that. Do you want to make the call? Because,
- 55:55Speaker 1: as you recall, she is a church going woman. I
- 55:58Speaker 1: don't think she's going to be down for part What
- 56:02Speaker 1: if you're like, Alma, you're only in part one. By
- 56:11Speaker 1: the way, if we did make a Scrubs movie, it
- 56:13Speaker 1: would be a great sort of spine, if you will,
- 56:17Speaker 1: for the film. The structure to make it all cutting
- 56:21Speaker 1: in and out of one insane day at LaVerne's above
- 56:26Speaker 1: pool party. Yeah, like it splinters off from but it
- 56:30Speaker 1: all takes place at the pool party, and it combs
- 56:33Speaker 1: off to all the mayhem that happened kind of like
- 56:35Speaker 1: that movie you Love with Rogan and Franco Maine about
- 56:38Speaker 1: the end of the World.
- 56:40Speaker 2: I love that movie. Let's take a break.
- 56:42Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. All right,
- 56:51Speaker 1: it's time for San Diego's favorite segment. Everyone, It's time
- 56:54Speaker 1: to fix your lie. All right, Ryan, you seem like
- 57:03Speaker 1: you've got a great life. You live in San Diego.
- 57:05Speaker 1: For goodness sakes, everyone would love to live in San Diego.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Do you live in La Joya?
- 57:08Speaker 10: No?
- 57:09Speaker 1: Okay, we'll move to La Joya because that's your neighborhood
- 57:11Speaker 1: in San Diego.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Where are you living in San Diego?
- 57:14Speaker 1: Del Sero?
- 57:15Speaker 2: Okay? You haven't go to the Old Glob the Old
- 57:18Speaker 2: Globe theater.
- 57:19Speaker 10: I walked fasted any times?
- 57:21Speaker 2: All right?
- 57:21Speaker 1: Well, Donald wants you to go see a play there
- 57:23Speaker 1: because he wants to a place.
- 57:24Speaker 2: They do a lot of Shakespeare.
- 57:25Speaker 1: There's not just Shakespeare, they do regular non shakespeare in
- 57:28Speaker 1: plays as well. Donald, I believe like yours, Steve Martin
- 57:31Speaker 1: wrote it.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah, very nice.
- 57:33Speaker 1: You didn't go see it, No, but it is a
- 57:36Speaker 1: La Joya playoffs as well. Great place to see theater
- 57:38Speaker 1: and a great place to go to the beach. And
- 57:40Speaker 1: it's a beautiful place. I feel like we're doing an
- 57:42Speaker 1: ad for San Diego. How can we help you, Ryan,
- 57:44Speaker 1: We want to fix your life. Even though your life
- 57:46Speaker 1: seems to be amazing, beautiful wife, two children. You gotta
- 57:49Speaker 1: smile on your face. You can't possibly need anything fixed.
- 57:52Speaker 10: Thank you, Thank you. I was actually contemplating this section
- 57:57Speaker 10: for a while, and originally I wanted to ask me
- 58:00Speaker 10: about kids, but I think we had that cover. But
- 58:03Speaker 10: you know, since I had the chance to talk with
- 58:05Speaker 10: you guys as artists, I was thinking, you know, what
- 58:09Speaker 10: does it take to start a podcast? I've thought of
- 58:14Speaker 10: some idea one, you know, during my time at home,
- 58:17Speaker 10: and I was just curious on your guys thoughts of that.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Well, you you got the hardest part down. You came
- 58:25Speaker 2: up with an idea for a podcast. That's the hardest
- 58:28Speaker 2: thing to do. It's easy to say I want to
- 58:31Speaker 2: start a podcast, but then it's like, well what am
- 58:33Speaker 2: I going to make the podcast about. You seem to
- 58:35Speaker 2: say you just said you thought up the idea during
- 58:38Speaker 2: your your quarantine. It's it's you know, we got very lucky.
- 58:45Speaker 2: We have Daniel and Joel and they handle a lot
- 58:47Speaker 2: of the business for us. And I'm not business. A
- 58:49Speaker 2: lot of the uh mischis thank you for us. But
- 58:55Speaker 2: you know, to start up a podcast, one you need
- 58:59Speaker 2: an idea, and too you need people that want to
- 59:01Speaker 2: listen to it, and you need to find a platform
- 59:03Speaker 2: to use to deliver it to people. I mean, that's
- 59:07Speaker 2: really all I can say. We got lucky. Somebody said
- 59:10Speaker 2: to us, we really want to do a podcast with
- 59:12Speaker 2: you guys, and we were like, we really want to
- 59:13Speaker 2: do a podcast with you, And that's how iHeart happened.
- 59:17Speaker 2: It doesn't happen like that for everybody.
- 59:19Speaker 1: So you know, I think that if you have a
- 59:21Speaker 1: good idea and it's something you're passionate about, first of all,
- 59:23Speaker 1: it should be something you're super interested in. Donald and
- 59:25Speaker 1: I are super interested in being silly and laughing with
- 59:27Speaker 1: each other. We're very lucky that we have going through
- 59:29Speaker 1: the show to help us because it kind of gives
- 59:32Speaker 1: us a framework of things to talk about, but also
- 59:36Speaker 1: we could just sit here and giggle with these two
- 59:38Speaker 1: characters all day long. It's something we really enjoy. So
- 59:42Speaker 1: I think your audience, and you know, you have to
- 59:46Speaker 1: talk about something that that there will be an audience
- 59:48Speaker 1: that will be just as interested in the subject matter
- 59:50Speaker 1: as you are, and something you look forward to doing,
- 59:53Speaker 1: because this isn't it's not zero amount of work. You know,
- 59:55Speaker 1: it does take some work to put it out and
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: and of course Joel and Daniell do a lot of
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: work behind the scenes to make it all sound good.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: But that's my advice is that if you're going to
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: do it and take it on, to have it be
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: something that you're just could talk endlessly about. And also
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: to surround yourself with good people who are great conversationalists, because,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: as we've said a few times, Donald and I love
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: to chat and be silly, but we pulled Joel and
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Daniel onto the show and and and pulled them from
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: behind the scenes to in front of the scenes because
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: we find them so genuinely interesting and and good people
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: to chat with. What you're trying to get it? Wait,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: that's not the one I met w Tank. I can't
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: find you. Honor me, Daniel, you honor me, you honor me.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Don't get you some stickers and we can put the
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: little stickers on it.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: All.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: You're supposed to come fix the pad, you're supposed to
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: update the pad. You're supposed to put labels on the pad.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: And now, yes, you think I've got a brother P
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: touch Daniel bring You know how when people tweet shit
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: their like, they put the clap sign after Daniel, Bring
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: over your P touch.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: You should do it all at the same time.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Okay, let me try that, bring over your P touch. Okay, okay. Now,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: when your podcast becomes a global hit like ours, Ryan,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: you're gonna need a sound pad and you're gonna need
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: an engineer who refuses to update it. Okay, that's part
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: of the sound pad. Make sure Ryan that you get
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: an engineer who gets you a soundpad that takes a
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: computer programmer to operate because it's so complicated. In honor
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: of Daniel not updating the sound pad, I'm just gonna
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: hit a random button. See what comes up.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Okay, appropriate, You're welcome.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: This is my new favorite. We got point Dexter run
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: the violin and Lewis then Gill would from little.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: We have something something on the guitar and by little
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: old me Jamal Lamarmar Tamar.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: All right, Ryan, you're welcome. You're welcome. Good luck with
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: your podcast.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Thank you, and I hope enjoyed. San Diego Man, I
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: find an.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Engineer who can give you a sound pad that What
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: is it? Donald? We're doing a show here? What's going on?
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I got I got a kid in here? What's up on? Yes?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Go what did he ask for?
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Jesus Jesus and Jesus Jesus so good right now?
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yo, this kid is right now, this kid's getting good
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: at basketball, man, like for real, for real, Like I
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: believe he's starting to shake him bake. He's starting to shoot.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: It looks like he knows how to shoot now, you
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: know what I mean. Like it's starting to happen. I'm
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: watching him play with his friends and go buy his
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: friends and shoot floaters, and he's watching basketball games with me.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: He's staying up late to watch basketball games. Like my
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: dreams are coming true. They are coming with this.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: By being too like agro dad about.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: It, I'm not, dude. He's the one that freaking gets
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: me to the point He's like, Dad, can we go
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: play basketball again? I'm like, my god, I just played
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: basketball with you five minutes ago. I'm done playing basketball.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: But okay, let's go. You know what I mean. Yeah,
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: it's a lot of.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Telling you one thing. Don't get too into it or
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: he will not want to play. Okay, all right, Ryan,
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: we gotta go. Thank you for coming. Thank you so much.
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: Take care of a good one.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna be asked with you guys. I think we
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: did it.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: We did do it. Oh yeah, all right, well, thank
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: you to Ryan, and thank you all to listening. Hey,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: there's new merch. This is the first episode where we

- 1:04:14Speaker 1: names on unshirt. And I don't yell at me. People
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: are already yelling at me Donald. That says we didn't
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: put ted on the shirt. There was only room for
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: certain amount of we'll put ted on the next shirt.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: I said the same thing when I saw the ship.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: I'm just gonna put it out there.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: But you said you didn't say it to me.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: I know, I said it in my head.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I was like, oh great, that's so helpful that you
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: said it in your head. I said the same thing,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: oh to me, No, in my head. All right, we
