- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeow, this is the Mark Simon Show on seventy tenor.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hey, all right, it's enough with the Knicks. Not kidding, kidding,
- 0:17Speaker 2: we love the Knicks. The parade is getting ready to
- 0:21Speaker 2: take place. We don't know exactly when I was supposed
- 0:24Speaker 2: to be ten to noon. I see the players are
- 0:27Speaker 2: coming into the parade area. The team is coming in.
- 0:31Speaker 2: They're expecting a million people. Remember yesterday I said figured
- 0:34Speaker 2: more like two million. I'm here in three or four million. Now,
- 0:39Speaker 2: this is going to be crazy. And then you had
- 0:42Speaker 2: to line up ahead of time to be in the audience,
- 0:44Speaker 2: to be on the sidelines of the parade. But apparently
- 0:48Speaker 2: people started getting there at eleven o'clock last night. By
- 0:51Speaker 2: seven thirty this morning, it was full a maximum number
- 0:55Speaker 2: of people that can watch the parade, and they go
- 0:58Speaker 2: through you know, TSA type security, getting screened and frisked,
- 1:02Speaker 2: and so as of seven thirty this morning, the parade
- 1:06Speaker 2: crowd was totally full. There are all sorts of other
- 1:09Speaker 2: people down. I don't know what they're gonna do. They're
- 1:11Speaker 2: gonna have to watch it on their phone or something.
- 1:13Speaker 2: The ceremony will then take place at noon, maybe eleven thirty.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It was I forget the original schedule. Maybe it was
- 1:20Speaker 2: originally eleven. Now eleven thirty twelve. We'll bring you the
- 1:23Speaker 2: ceremony live and all the activity the parade. There's really
- 1:27Speaker 2: nothing to hear. It's just a lot of waving. In fact,
- 1:31Speaker 2: I don't know why you have to go down there.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Why would you want to be down there. You'll see
- 1:34Speaker 2: it much better on television. You'll hear it much better
- 1:38Speaker 2: on radio. You know, you go down there, you're going
- 1:40Speaker 2: to be behind, you know, one hundred people in front
- 1:43Speaker 2: of you, and what are you going to see? The
- 1:45Speaker 2: ticker tape looks great, but otherwise it's just a lot
- 1:49Speaker 2: of waving, just people waving at you from a you know,
- 1:52Speaker 2: they say the float. You know, it's just a flatbed
- 1:54Speaker 2: truck and a guy's waving at you. So it's you
- 1:57Speaker 2: don't need to be there. You don't need to be there. Now,
- 1:59Speaker 2: let's hope nothing goes wrong after the parade. We saw
- 2:04Speaker 2: we saw some violence and some ugly rioting Saturday night,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and now people will say, well, that was midnight. This
- 2:11Speaker 2: is going to be you know, eleven in the morning. Well,
- 2:13Speaker 2: hopefully everything's okay. I see Steve Sharipa in the crowd there.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Our friend Steve Sharipa marching with the team. I guess
- 2:21Speaker 2: that means he'll be on a float. City Council speaker
- 2:24Speaker 2: Julie Mennon is there. She'll be on a float. A
- 2:27Speaker 2: bunch of celebrities will be on those floats waving. Now.
- 2:30Speaker 2: The police department has sent out ten thousand people. Apparently
- 2:36Speaker 2: that's the biggest number of cops ever sent to patrol
- 2:40Speaker 2: an event, ten thousand. Hopefully they're ready for this. Unlike
- 2:45Speaker 2: Saturday Night, believe it or not, this is the first
- 2:50Speaker 2: parade the Knicks have ever had. Yeah, they won the
- 2:54Speaker 2: championship in seventy three, but at the time city wasn't
- 2:57Speaker 2: doing so well financially when Mayor Lindsay decided it was
- 3:02Speaker 2: too expensive for the city to do a parade, so
- 3:05Speaker 2: instead they did a party. They just threw a big
- 3:08Speaker 2: party for the next So this will be the first
- 3:10Speaker 2: Knicks parade ever. I've never seen anything like this sports wise,
- 3:15Speaker 2: even when the Yankees would win the World Series, even
- 3:18Speaker 2: when was the first one back ninety six, was like
- 3:20Speaker 2: the first one in years many years, and there was excitement,
- 3:24Speaker 2: but not like this, and it was not so universal
- 3:26Speaker 2: all over the city. Never seen anything capture the whole city,
- 3:30Speaker 2: any sports event like this, so it's going to be
- 3:33Speaker 2: absolutely amazing. The ratings were phenomenal, you know, the final games,
- 3:37Speaker 2: twenty four million people watching. Nothing until the Oscars doesn't
- 3:42Speaker 2: get twenty four million people, and was that was huge.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Everybody got this Knicks fever. So we'll be covering it
- 3:48Speaker 2: all day today and when the ceremony happens at City Hall,
- 3:53Speaker 2: we'll bring that to you live later today. Other big
- 3:57Speaker 2: news the Iran deal. Now this is very important because
- 4:00Speaker 2: it gives the Trump haters on the right and on
- 4:03Speaker 2: the left of the Republican Trumpeters, the Democratic Trumpeters a
- 4:06Speaker 2: chance to whine, which they enjoy. They like to whind.
- 4:09Speaker 2: This is the worst deal, with a complete surrender. This
- 4:12Speaker 2: isver So nobody knows what's in the deal yet. I
- 4:16Speaker 2: know you've seen leaks of Axios printing what they say
- 4:20Speaker 2: is the deal, Bloomberg printing what they say is that
- 4:23Speaker 2: nobody knows. I'm hearing there's stuff in there that's much
- 4:26Speaker 2: tougher than what you're reading. But it'll be Friday, the signing,
- 4:31Speaker 2: and if it's not a great deal. If it's not,
- 4:34Speaker 2: remember this is not the end of things. This is
- 4:37Speaker 2: just the next play in the game. There's going to
- 4:40Speaker 2: be a lot of plays in this game. This is
- 4:42Speaker 2: still like a second down, third down. This is not
- 4:45Speaker 2: the final resolution of this. So if it stinks, it
- 4:48Speaker 2: doesn't matter. It's only for sixty days and then they
- 4:52Speaker 2: either go to a tougher deal or they get bombed again.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So again, this is not the final thing. This is
- 4:56Speaker 2: not the final chapter. Don't worry about it so much.
- 4:59Speaker 2: But it give the Trump haters something to do, which
- 5:02Speaker 2: is great. You got to keep you got to keep
- 5:05Speaker 2: throwing them a bone, something to yell about. Where where's
- 5:10Speaker 2: I mean, whenever there's something to yell about? Who shows up?
- 5:13Speaker 2: When you need this guy? He's never around when there's
- 5:15Speaker 2: riots in Columbia, when there's anti Semitic attacks all over
- 5:19Speaker 2: the place, when there were riots all over the city
- 5:23Speaker 2: in twenty twenty. The guy who was hidden, he just
- 5:26Speaker 2: left the city, fled and hid. When you don't need him,
- 5:29Speaker 2: he's there. I'm talking about a course about Chuck Schumer
- 5:31Speaker 2: with the old man glasses now huffing and puffing. Everything
- 5:35Speaker 2: Trump does is awful.
- 5:36Speaker 3: They knew that the strait of horror moves was a
- 5:39Speaker 3: choke point, and Trump had no way, no way to
- 5:44Speaker 3: get them to release that without giving in so much
- 5:47Speaker 3: on so many things to them. So we're in a
- 5:50Speaker 3: national security disaster.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So this is what he enjoys doing this. And you
- 5:55Speaker 2: can get away with this if you go on CNN
- 5:57Speaker 2: or MSNBC or any of the networks, you can say
- 5:59Speaker 2: nonsense and they won't correct you. He know, if you
- 6:05Speaker 2: watch what was I watching this summer morning, Joe, they
- 6:07Speaker 2: had that wacko Dan Goldman, that crazy left wing Congress
- 6:12Speaker 2: when he was yelling and screaming about Trump went into
- 6:14Speaker 2: war with no plan. He had no plan. This is
- 6:18Speaker 2: the single most planned war in the history of warfare. Literally,
- 6:23Speaker 2: when the Iatola and all that took over forty seven
- 6:26Speaker 2: years ago, the Pentagon started planning war with Iran. How
- 6:30Speaker 2: to do it, what to hit, what to evade, And
- 6:32Speaker 2: they've been working on the plan for forty seven years.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Every year the Pentagon goes over that plan and tweaks
- 6:39Speaker 2: it and updates it. So this plan has been worked
- 6:41Speaker 2: on for forty seven years. That's why when we launched
- 6:45Speaker 2: the attack on Iran, we knew exactly what to hit.
- 6:48Speaker 2: In two days, we basically had them disabled militarily. We
- 6:52Speaker 2: wiped out their air force, their army, everything, the navy
- 6:55Speaker 2: all gone in a second. We killed the top fourteen
- 6:57Speaker 2: leaders in the first hour. We knew just what they do.
- 7:00Speaker 2: It's the most planned war in history. And now the
- 7:04Speaker 2: reason these guys are getting really ornery right now and
- 7:06Speaker 2: really upset. The problem with this deal, the big problem
- 7:11Speaker 2: that they're facing is oil is going to start flowing
- 7:16Speaker 2: like crazy, and it's brought down the price of oil dramatically.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Remember Trump said, as soon as we do this, oil
- 7:22Speaker 2: will plunge. Well it's plunged. Remembers one hundred and ten
- 7:25Speaker 2: a barrel, seventy four dollars a barrel. Now around the
- 7:29Speaker 2: country you're seeing gas under four dollars. Gas is three
- 7:32Speaker 2: sixty a gallon three seventy all over the country. Not
- 7:35Speaker 2: New York or California because they keep putting these state
- 7:38Speaker 2: taxes all over it, so you'll see the high price.
- 7:40Speaker 2: But the rest of the country is seeing gas prices
- 7:43Speaker 2: way way down from a few weeks ago. Stock market's
- 7:47Speaker 2: still at all time high. So that's why the Democrats
- 7:50Speaker 2: are so upset. They don't like this at all. Hey. Oh,
- 7:54Speaker 2: the other big thing today is the Obama Library is
- 7:57Speaker 2: opening today, big opening ceremony now for a crazy left
- 8:02Speaker 2: wingers that you know, they don't care about sports. It
- 8:04Speaker 2: bean something to them. This is their Nick's Parade. The
- 8:07Speaker 2: Obama Library is opening. Bill Clinton will be there, George W.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Bush will be there. Anybody that hates Trump, Joe Biden
- 8:17Speaker 2: will be there, Bruce Springsteen will be there. It will
- 8:20Speaker 2: be a Trump hatred festival. Celebrities and politicians. You know,
- 8:24Speaker 2: a lot of the new Democrats hate Obama, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 2: the real left wings. Obama to them, it's like Ronald
- 8:30Speaker 2: Reagan to them. So Bernie Sanders won't go there. A
- 8:33Speaker 2: lot of them won't go. It's the opening is today.
- 8:37Speaker 2: If you've seen if you haven't seen it, go look
- 8:39Speaker 2: at pictures of the Obama Library. It is considered, I mean,
- 8:42Speaker 2: it really is considered to be the single ugliest structure
- 8:45Speaker 2: ever built in America. Even the surrounding neighborhood. The neighbors
- 8:49Speaker 2: are all suing because it's such an iore and it's
- 8:53Speaker 2: just destroyed the neighbor It looks absolutely hideous and ridiculous,
- 8:59Speaker 2: but just glowing all over this. In fact, many people
- 9:03Speaker 2: are talking about the ABC News report this morning on
- 9:07Speaker 2: I guess it was Good Morning America. They did a
- 9:09Speaker 2: piece on the opening, and it was a love letter
- 9:11Speaker 2: to Obama. They never mentioned how hideous and strange the
- 9:15Speaker 2: building looks. They never mentioned that the cost overruns are
- 9:19Speaker 2: billions of dollars, just unbelievable wasted money. They never mentioned
- 9:23Speaker 2: that most of the contractors are screaming they haven't got paid.
- 9:28Speaker 2: None of this was mentioned on the ABC report. Instead,
- 9:30Speaker 2: it was just a love letter. In fact, people were stunned.
- 9:34Speaker 2: They know ABC is biased and slanted, but they couldn't
- 9:37Speaker 2: believe this report got on the air. It was just
- 9:40Speaker 2: a love letter to Obama and the library. In fact,
- 9:43Speaker 2: i'm hearing now the Obama Library. It's going to save
- 9:46Speaker 2: that thing and it's going to be their promotional piece
- 9:48Speaker 2: they use. Hey, the parade is about to get hurt.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Do we have Natalie No, Well, check on that. I
- 9:56Speaker 2: think about somewhere around now. We're checking with She's down
- 9:59Speaker 2: there at the parade. So we'll get a live update. Hey,
- 10:04Speaker 2: we'll get to rex Huerman. He was sentenced yesterday. Rex Huerman,
- 10:10Speaker 2: this big, hideous looking monster. The judge at one point
- 10:16Speaker 2: started crying. They had all the families, you know, talk
- 10:19Speaker 2: about what happened to their loved ones by, you know,
- 10:22Speaker 2: being killed by this monster. So we have right now.
- 10:25Speaker 2: All right, well we'll get to Rex human. Let's check
- 10:28Speaker 2: in Withalie Migliori. Natalie, where are.
- 10:30Speaker 4: You, hey, Well, I'm on West Broadway and Warren Street
- 10:35Speaker 4: right now, which is a little bit further away from
- 10:38Speaker 4: the parade route. But I'll tell you that didn't stop fans.
- 10:41Speaker 4: They are still out here.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And can you get close.
- 10:46Speaker 5: To the parade.
- 10:48Speaker 4: No, it's really difficult. It's been difficult, especially you know, Mark.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I'm out on the street every morning talking to people.
- 10:53Speaker 4: So I started my morning talking to people who were
- 10:56Speaker 4: waiting in line to get into the parade. And the
- 11:00Speaker 4: people who I even were speaking to, they couldn't even
- 11:04Speaker 4: get into the parade. By eight o'clock. The pens had
- 11:06Speaker 4: already been filled, So it's tough to get anywhere close
- 11:10Speaker 4: to the parade. Anybody who's close to the parade is
- 11:13Speaker 4: maybe about a block off of it, so they're standing
- 11:17Speaker 4: in between buildings to those openings just to see if
- 11:22Speaker 4: they could see their players pass by.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah. I was watching some TV stations this morning. They
- 11:26Speaker 2: were all yelling and screaming. Their reporters couldn't get into
- 11:28Speaker 2: the parade route and they were unable to get near it.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So but how does the crowd look peaceful?
- 11:33Speaker 4: We hope, well, the crowd is streaming, moving through in
- 11:38Speaker 4: most parts of the city in Lower Manhattan. But it's peaceful.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I mean, everybody's happy. I did ask people once we
- 11:45Speaker 4: found out that people weren't going to be able to
- 11:46Speaker 4: get into the parade how they felt. People were disappointed,
- 11:51Speaker 4: but they said that there's nothing like being with other
- 11:54Speaker 4: Knicks fans and just being able to celebrate this long
- 11:56Speaker 4: awaited when that fans have been waiting for since nineteen
- 12:01Speaker 4: seventy three. So a lot of people in high spirit,
- 12:05Speaker 4: and definitely the vibe is more positive than negative.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I would say, all right, now, let me ask you
- 12:11Speaker 2: technical questions. It looks like they're going to get three
- 12:13Speaker 2: million people down there. Are there places to get something
- 12:16Speaker 2: to eat? Are there? What if somebody needs to go
- 12:18Speaker 2: to their restroom? What do they do down there?
- 12:19Speaker 4: It's good be for hours, very limited bathroom act that's okay.
- 12:23Speaker 4: A lot of restaurants along the way are open or eateries.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I'm standing in front of a little coffee shop where
- 12:29Speaker 4: a lot of Knicks fans are, and they're also I'm
- 12:33Speaker 4: looking through the windows, they're fitting inside and they have
- 12:36Speaker 4: their jerseys on. So people who couldn't make it to
- 12:38Speaker 4: the parade are definitely making the best out of their
- 12:40Speaker 4: time in the city. But moving these people is difficult
- 12:44Speaker 4: in a sense because it's been a frozen stone from
- 12:48Speaker 4: below Canal Street. So if you wanted to get on
- 12:50Speaker 4: a subway, if you wanted to park your car, well,
- 12:53Speaker 4: guess what, good luck, you couldn't even drive down here
- 12:56Speaker 4: after seven o'clock this morning, and you couldn't even get
- 12:58Speaker 4: on a subway.
- 12:59Speaker 2: W wow. So hey, I hope you see a big,
- 13:03Speaker 2: huge police presence down there.
- 13:06Speaker 4: There was a very yeah, very large police presence. It's
- 13:10Speaker 4: the largest police presence in any event's history in New
- 13:14Speaker 4: York City. Ten thousand cops on the ground, and I
- 13:16Speaker 4: can attest to that. I am seeing a lot of cops,
- 13:19Speaker 4: you know, many in different places in a sense, a
- 13:23Speaker 4: heavy police presence in terms of the vehicles too. If
- 13:26Speaker 4: you're walking down West Broadway, there are cops go lore
- 13:30Speaker 4: down the street making sure that everybody keeps moving, the
- 13:33Speaker 4: cars and everything. So there definitely is a large police
- 13:36Speaker 4: presence here.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, and if there's all these buildings along the route.
- 13:40Speaker 2: If you look up into all the windows or mostly offices,
- 13:43Speaker 2: but I imagine a lot of people came the office
- 13:45Speaker 2: to look out the window and watch the parade.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Yeah, And funny enough, I was looking up a little
- 13:50Speaker 4: earlier today and some people there was a like a
- 13:53Speaker 4: balcony like on one of the buildings, and there were
- 13:56Speaker 4: a group of people hanging out on the balcony trying
- 13:58Speaker 4: to see the parade. So certainly getting into their into
- 14:02Speaker 4: their buildings and making sure that they can that they
- 14:05Speaker 4: could see. That's what a lot of people say. That's
- 14:08Speaker 4: what they do for these sick or kate parades. Right,
- 14:10Speaker 4: it happens not as big, but with the Liberty Parade
- 14:13Speaker 4: a couple of years ago and this year, that's probably
- 14:17Speaker 4: a golden ticket if you've got an office along the
- 14:19Speaker 4: parade route.
- 14:20Speaker 2: All right, well, great job, Natalie Migliori. Well we'll check
- 14:23Speaker 2: with you again later. Stay out of trouble and we'll
- 14:25Speaker 2: talk you. Thank you, take care. Uh And we have
- 14:30Speaker 2: listeners all over the country. You might be saying, what
- 14:31Speaker 2: is it with the knicks and all this nixt So wow,
- 14:33Speaker 2: it means a lot to us. It's a big deal here.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I imagine all over the country. Uh, people are following
- 14:39Speaker 2: this very carefully. So where was Oh yeah, Rex Huerman,
- 14:42Speaker 2: this big, grotesque monster, murderer, mass murderer, killer. So the victims'
- 14:49Speaker 2: families testified and it was so powerful and moving. Even
- 14:52Speaker 2: the judge started crying. And then at one time the
- 14:56Speaker 2: judge and the judge really tore into human before the sentencing.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Here's the judge.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Are you a little bit sorry for what you did
- 15:04Speaker 3: to these poor innocent women? Eight women that is strangled
- 15:08Speaker 3: to death, at least eight that we know of.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Are you at least a little bit sorry for that?
- 15:13Speaker 6: Yes?
- 15:14Speaker 2: Yes, he's just like a monster cold month. Yes, Sam,
- 15:20Speaker 2: he did speak at one point. They didn't say much.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But this is Humorman. This is the serial killer monster.
- 15:26Speaker 7: There are no words I can say. I response will
- 15:29Speaker 7: before said Miss Ruler's death.
- 15:33Speaker 2: The words I would say have no meaning. All Right, Yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 2: he's a pretty smart guy. He's an architect, just an insane,
- 15:42Speaker 2: lunatic killer. He's going to go to prison, where they
- 15:45Speaker 2: say the other prisoners will try to beat the hell
- 15:48Speaker 2: out of them and kill him. There's another serial killer
- 15:51Speaker 2: who's been in prison for years who wrote to Hueman,
- 15:55Speaker 2: and they started corresponding back and forth about forty letters,
- 15:58Speaker 2: back and forth. The other killer is also a big,
- 16:01Speaker 2: huge guy. He's like seven feet tall, and in one
- 16:04Speaker 2: of the layers he wrote to human, don't think because
- 16:05Speaker 2: you're a big guy, it's going to keep you safe.
- 16:09Speaker 2: He said, it's a numbers game in prison, like twenty
- 16:11Speaker 2: of them will come after you. I mean, scary stuff
- 16:15Speaker 2: if you're if you're a human reading this. And he
- 16:17Speaker 2: also said, even though you're going to keep you in solitary,
- 16:20Speaker 2: they'll make sure at some point the other prisoners getting
- 16:23Speaker 2: near you. So so he's been sentenced. It's three life sentences. Anyway,
- 16:29Speaker 2: Let's get off that topic too gloomy. Let's get back
- 16:31Speaker 2: to happy stuff. The Parade of Champions, the Knicks Parade
- 16:35Speaker 2: will be covering it live all day to day, and
- 16:37Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 16:40Speaker 2: one zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three
- 16:43Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Live from the door Life Back Studios, bill Marks, some
- 16:50Speaker 1: own show.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Randall in Maryland. Randal,
- 16:58Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Ye?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Wait a minute, let me trade again. Randall, You're there.
- 17:06Speaker 2: We lost him. Hey, Randall, call us back. Sorry about that.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Let's go to Larry in Cranford. Larry, how you doing?
- 17:12Speaker 5: Hey? Mark?
- 17:13Speaker 7: Hi?
- 17:13Speaker 5: You know the parade should end with Brunson on the
- 17:16Speaker 5: last flow dressed as Santa Claus.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Oh, like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Yeah, all right, exactly, Yeah,
- 17:23Speaker 2: Well yeah, I guess I don't know. He is such
- 17:29Speaker 2: a superstar. He was a Yankee stadium last night. Everybody
- 17:32Speaker 2: was like all over him. The guy is a massive story.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You're going to see him endorsing everything, making a fortune
- 17:38Speaker 2: doing ad.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 17:42Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike. I think it's great that
- 17:46Speaker 1: the city's honoring the Knicks. It's my third championship in
- 17:50Speaker 1: my lifetime I've gotten to see. But I do think
- 17:52Speaker 1: it's the cynic in me. It brings up the cynic
- 17:55Speaker 1: in me because Mom, Donnie and his administration a very
- 17:58Speaker 1: pro working class, that's all they ever talk about. Yet
- 18:01Speaker 1: they've made it impossible for all millions of workers to
- 18:04Speaker 1: get to work today.
- 18:05Speaker 6: And the only thing you can't can't they can't blame
- 18:10Speaker 6: and the rich.
- 18:10Speaker 7: You're going to be the ones who can be really
- 18:12Speaker 7: you know, all those poor people who can't get on
- 18:14Speaker 7: the floats with the rich folks.
- 18:16Speaker 6: It's good, So it is. There is a little bit
- 18:18Speaker 6: of irony at least.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's any parade. That's that's for any parade. You
- 18:23Speaker 2: can't blame mom Donny for I also remember everybody that
- 18:25Speaker 2: works on those office buildings and broad it was told
- 18:28Speaker 2: they have to work from home today. So they're not
- 18:30Speaker 2: too upset. They're kind of like that.
- 18:31Speaker 7: It's all the it's all the post fobs trying to
- 18:33Speaker 7: get to Brooklyn on the on the on the FDR.
- 18:37Speaker 5: But it's great.
- 18:38Speaker 2: They'd be very happy to call up work and say
- 18:40Speaker 2: I can't get there, sorry, you have to work from all.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Don't worry you. That'll be fine. Thanks for calling. All right,
- 18:46Speaker 2: here's Randall from Maryland. Randall, how you doing.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Good?
- 18:51Speaker 6: Mark Mark's disagreement that was just signed by Trump? Yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 6: who signs on the other side of it?
- 18:58Speaker 2: The leader what's his name? I can't remember his name,
- 19:00Speaker 2: but there's an Iranian leader that will sign it. Was
- 19:05Speaker 2: that so hard to figure out? You can look it up.
- 19:09Speaker 2: It's easy to google. I would tell you his name,
- 19:11Speaker 2: but I can't remember it, but there's there's an Iranian
- 19:15Speaker 2: leader in charge. He will sign it.
- 19:18Speaker 6: I feel better, okay, yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 2: No, everybody at the West agree. It's just the temporary thing.
- 19:26Speaker 2: It's just it's like a fourth inning thing. It's don't
- 19:30Speaker 2: worry about it. There's a lot more that'll play out here.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how you doing?
- 19:38Speaker 6: End of a year of Mark? I saw very sadly
- 19:41Speaker 6: he died the other day, one hundred years old. Jean
- 19:44Speaker 6: Shallatte died. Yeah, they already buried him in a Jewish
- 19:47Speaker 6: cemetery in Cedar Holes, New Jersey, which I know, well,
- 19:51Speaker 6: there's not many left, Mark. I was watching To Tell
- 19:53Speaker 6: the Truth the other day with Gary Moore. I know
- 19:54Speaker 6: I need a Giletta is still around. She's eighty nine.
- 19:57Speaker 2: For those years, those of you under eighty five years old.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Anita Jillette was a popular actress and singer that was
- 20:03Speaker 2: on every game show talk show in the sixties and she.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Still see Claudeen what Launay died too? Mark, remember and.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Those of you under eighty. She was married to Andy Williams.
- 20:15Speaker 2: She was a French singer who what was the deal?
- 20:19Speaker 2: She shot her.
- 20:20Speaker 6: She was going, yeah, Spider Savage. Spider Savage was that
- 20:24Speaker 6: his name?
- 20:24Speaker 2: She got away with him, shot him and got away
- 20:27Speaker 2: with it and was married to Andy Williams. But all right,
- 20:31Speaker 2: thanks for this trip down memory lane. Hey, I'll tell
- 20:33Speaker 2: you know who did die yesterday. It was a wonderful guy,
- 20:38Speaker 2: a good comedian. His name was Tom Dreeson. Now you
- 20:41Speaker 2: probably saw him on TV a lot. Tom Dreesen Sinatra like,
- 20:45Speaker 2: took him under his wing, made him his opening act
- 20:47Speaker 2: for like the last twenty years. But Dreason was around
- 20:52Speaker 2: from like the seven mid seventies, and when David Letterman,
- 20:57Speaker 2: a young kid trying to break into show business, went
- 21:00Speaker 2: to California when he first went to the comedy store,
- 21:03Speaker 2: first time he ever got on stage, Dreason was there.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And Dresen was a little more of a veteran, He
- 21:08Speaker 2: wasn't that big yet, but he took Letterman under his wing,
- 21:11Speaker 2: very nice to him, and right up until the end,
- 21:15Speaker 2: Letterman always had Tom Dreason on this show. He was
- 21:18Speaker 2: so grateful to him. And if you go to Letterman's
- 21:20Speaker 2: Facebook page or mine, actually I shared it, but let
- 21:26Speaker 2: him did quite a tribute to Tom Dreesen. He was
- 21:28Speaker 2: a big part of Chicago. That was a huge Chicago
- 21:32Speaker 2: hero and a wonderful guy died yesterday. I was eighty
- 21:37Speaker 2: seven years old. Hey, So throughout the day, throughout the morning,
- 21:41Speaker 2: we'll cover the parade. We'll bring you all the action.
- 21:43Speaker 2: And then the big thing is the City Hall ceremony.
- 21:45Speaker 2: They'll start about eleven thirty or so, and eleven thirty
- 21:50Speaker 2: we'll bring you the whole ceremony from sid that's the
- 21:52Speaker 2: part you want to hear. Alicia Keys is going to
- 21:55Speaker 2: perform live. The players will speak and they'll get their trophy,
- 22:00Speaker 2: you know all that. So we'll bring you that live
- 22:02Speaker 2: right here. You'll hear all the action right here. When
- 22:05Speaker 2: we come back, we hope to talk to Steve Moore,
- 22:08Speaker 2: the the great economist, the brilliant Economists. We'll talk to
- 22:11Speaker 2: him next on seven to ten woor the.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Mark Simone Show on seven ten woar.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Well Steve Moore, the brilliant economist and best selling author too.
- 22:24Speaker 2: If you haven't read his book yet, you should get it.
- 22:26Speaker 2: It's really good. The Trump Economic Miracle will explain everything
- 22:30Speaker 2: to you. Trump Economic Miracle. He also runs the Committee
- 22:33Speaker 2: to Unleash Prosperity dot Com. They put out the best
- 22:38Speaker 2: daily briefing, news analysis. You will love it. It's free, it'll
- 22:42Speaker 2: come right to your email. You can sign up at
- 22:44Speaker 2: unleash prosperity dot com. Unleash prosperity dot com. Steve Moore,
- 22:49Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Hey, Mark? I'm doing pretty well. I'm in New York
- 22:53Speaker 5: City and I guess the parade is going on right
- 22:55Speaker 5: now as we speak. But yeah, you know, my line
- 22:59Speaker 5: on this, of course, Mark, is that, well, congratulations, New
- 23:02Speaker 5: York can finally beat Texas and something. But look, I
- 23:07Speaker 5: am feeling good about a lot better about the economy.
- 23:11Speaker 5: We're seeing oil prices down to seb about seventy four
- 23:13Speaker 5: to seventy five dollars a barrel, down from ninety five
- 23:16Speaker 5: dollars a barrow, so people are going to start to
- 23:18Speaker 5: feel the effects of that in their gas tank sometime
- 23:22Speaker 5: in the next few weeks. I think we could see,
- 23:25Speaker 5: depending on where you live, I think we could see
- 23:28Speaker 5: nationally the gas price fall from about four dollars to
- 23:30Speaker 5: about three fifty a gallon, which will be really fantastic
- 23:33Speaker 5: for the US economy. And you know, we've got an
- 23:37Speaker 5: investment boom on this going on. As Larry Cudler would say,
- 23:40Speaker 5: we're you know, it's not just space X, but so
- 23:43Speaker 5: many of these companies are used taking advantage of the
- 23:45Speaker 5: Trump tax cut, which really lowered the tax on investment.
- 23:49Speaker 5: And we are just seeing a lot of construction, a
- 23:54Speaker 5: lot of manufacturing. So the economy is ready to explode.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I think I'm getting reports from around the country, not
- 24:01Speaker 2: New York, but around the country. Gas now at three
- 24:04Speaker 2: seventy at their local stations, New York, California. They'll keep
- 24:07Speaker 2: the price artificially high with their stupid state stuff.
- 24:10Speaker 5: But have you noticed, by the way, a pattern there
- 24:13Speaker 5: where the Blue states have much more expensive gas than
- 24:16Speaker 5: the place states.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Now, forget Joe Biden with that huge spike in gas
- 24:23Speaker 2: prices was deliberate. He shut down drilling to deliberately raise
- 24:27Speaker 2: the price. Everybody forget.
- 24:29Speaker 5: It's a good point. Yeah, yeah. In fact, we showed
- 24:32Speaker 5: in our hotline the average price of gasoline, you know
- 24:36Speaker 5: over you know, if you look at like Trump's first term,
- 24:39Speaker 5: we'll go back to under Obama and then Trump's first term,
- 24:42Speaker 5: and then Biden and Trump's second term. The lowest gas
- 24:46Speaker 5: prices on average. First, the lowest were during Trump's first term.
- 24:50Speaker 5: The second lowest were during Trump's second term, even with
- 24:53Speaker 5: the increased spike that we've seen in the last three months,
- 24:56Speaker 5: and then Biden and then Obama had the highest g prices.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Obama not Biden.
- 25:03Speaker 5: Yeah, but he didn't like He didn't like fossil fuels
- 25:06Speaker 5: too much either. But here's the thing. When the gas
- 25:11Speaker 5: price starts to come down, which it will, that's like
- 25:14Speaker 5: a tax cut for the American economy. And then when
- 25:16Speaker 5: you put on top of that the fact that we've
- 25:20Speaker 5: got this AI boom, that's I know some people are
- 25:22Speaker 5: afraid of AI, but the productivity improvements already, CEOs and
- 25:27Speaker 5: heads of manufacturing firms and so on are saying, the
- 25:30Speaker 5: increase in productivity is amazing. It's cutting our costs. And
- 25:34Speaker 5: guess what, when companies cut their costs, they were able
- 25:36Speaker 5: to cut their prices. So I think, you know, I
- 25:39Speaker 5: agree with Larry Kudlow. I was on his show last
- 25:41Speaker 5: night and he was saying, you know, we could see
- 25:44Speaker 5: zero inflation in the next few months.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Wow, And we got a good fed shairman now, so
- 25:49Speaker 2: we don't worry.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Why do we?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah? Hey, besides this Knicks parade, the other big celebrity event,
- 25:56Speaker 2: the three X presidents, is your hometown of Chicago. The
- 25:59Speaker 2: Obama Library opens today. It looks idious, but all these
- 26:03Speaker 2: ex presidents of Bruce Springsteen, all these other celebrities are there.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Have you seen have you seen what it looks like
- 26:09Speaker 2: that Obama Library.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's kind of ugly.
- 26:14Speaker 2: It's very ugly, you know.
- 26:16Speaker 5: I you know, I haven't physically seen that. I've seen
- 26:19Speaker 5: some pictures of it. And then of course they you know, gee,
- 26:21Speaker 5: who would have thought Justicago would have cost over runs,
- 26:24Speaker 5: but currently a lot of the huge cost over runs. Yeah,
- 26:27Speaker 5: it costs the way a billion dollars. I've heard or
- 26:30Speaker 5: more that built that a billion dollars. It's a lot
- 26:33Speaker 5: of money, and a lot of the contractors have been stiffed.
- 26:36Speaker 5: They haven't been paid.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah, if you look at the building, that's a maybe
- 26:39Speaker 2: one hundred million dollar job at the most. Speaking of
- 26:43Speaker 2: speaking out of Illinois, the crazy governor Pritzker, what is
- 26:46Speaker 2: it with him in these taxes on every industry he
- 26:49Speaker 2: needs to be nice to.
- 26:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 5: One of the things that's really surprised me, Mark is
- 26:54Speaker 5: that you know, if you go to Silicon Valley or
- 26:56Speaker 5: you go to some of these tech centers in America,
- 26:58Speaker 5: like in Massachusetts, they're all the Democrats, you know, and
- 27:01Speaker 5: the CEOs you know, and that's changing a little bit
- 27:04Speaker 5: with Trump because they're meet with Trump now all the time.
- 27:07Speaker 5: But most of them are pretty liberal Democrats. And the
- 27:09Speaker 5: workers there are almost all Democrats. And yet who's taxing them?
- 27:13Speaker 5: Oh gee, Pittskigh has the first baby printz grow of courses,
- 27:16Speaker 5: the governor of Illinois. He has this big new tax
- 27:20Speaker 5: on social media use on you know, if you're going
- 27:22Speaker 5: to use the Internet, they're going to tax you, and
- 27:25Speaker 5: on cryptocurrencies and data centers and so on. I'm like, well,
- 27:29Speaker 5: why why did these CEOs of these big you know,
- 27:33Speaker 5: trillion dollar you know, multimillion dollar, billion dollar tech companies
- 27:38Speaker 5: give all their money Democrats and then they turn around
- 27:40Speaker 5: and stab them in the back.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Well, you know, the blue collar workers all Democrats, after
- 27:44Speaker 2: they saw what was going on, switched over the Republicans,
- 27:47Speaker 2: much of the Hispanic community. So now the tech industry
- 27:49Speaker 2: will switch over to Republicans.
- 27:52Speaker 5: I think that you're going to see that. And you know,
- 27:55Speaker 5: by the way, I just have to say, because this
- 27:56Speaker 5: happened last Friday, so we haven't talked since then, but
- 27:59Speaker 5: you know, what happened with the SpaceX IPO two trillion
- 28:03Speaker 5: dollar company. Here's a guy who came to the United
- 28:05Speaker 5: States as an immigrant. He wasn't poor, but he wasn't rich.
- 28:08Speaker 5: You know, they were kind of middle class family. I
- 28:10Speaker 5: think he started as like a welder and now he's,
- 28:12Speaker 5: you know, the richest guy in the world. He's developed
- 28:16Speaker 5: these incredible technologies and businesses that made did you see
- 28:20Speaker 5: five thousand people almost who were made millionaires because of
- 28:24Speaker 5: Elod Musk and some of them were people were like
- 28:26Speaker 5: just frontline workers at SpaceX, blue collar workers millionaires.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah, this hatred for him. Some of these these democrats
- 28:34Speaker 2: think that the money he makes, he's taking it from
- 28:36Speaker 2: somebody else. I don't think they realize he's just earning it.
- 28:39Speaker 2: It's not coming.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Out of anything. Yeah, this is a very good point.
- 28:44Speaker 5: You see, we view you know as free market supplies
- 28:48Speaker 5: that we view as id have increased the production increase,
- 28:52Speaker 5: create something out of nothing. That's the other thing. You know,
- 28:55Speaker 5: he comes into the country with nothing and he creates
- 28:57Speaker 5: a two trillion dollar business, mind numbing and out of nothing,
- 29:02Speaker 5: I mean, and that is what free market capitalism is
- 29:05Speaker 5: all about.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Now, when those Warren in those types, she was yelling
- 29:09Speaker 2: that all this money, Why just three hundred billion of
- 29:12Speaker 2: them would take care of all the homeless? Did they
- 29:15Speaker 2: not understand that they've spent three hundred billion on homelessness
- 29:18Speaker 2: a thousand times and it hasn't done anything to help
- 29:21Speaker 2: they misspend all the money.
- 29:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the best way to help the homeless
- 29:25Speaker 5: get them a job.
- 29:29Speaker 2: But does government spending is just you know, Doze was
- 29:33Speaker 2: a good idea. Will we ever get that under control?
- 29:36Speaker 2: I mean, we overpaid by like ten thousand percent for
- 29:38Speaker 2: every government project and the work stinks.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Well, I've been you know, trying to do that for
- 29:45Speaker 5: forty years in my career, or get cut government spending,
- 29:48Speaker 5: and I've kind of struck out. So do you have
- 29:50Speaker 5: any good new strategies?
- 29:52Speaker 2: Yeah? Let the private sector do it?
- 29:55Speaker 5: Yeah? Right, I mean I think el On Musk, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 5: I don't know him for I've never actually met him personally,
- 30:01Speaker 5: but I'm sure he was frustrated because when you're a CEO,
- 30:04Speaker 5: you come in and say, you know, do this, do that,
- 30:06Speaker 5: you get this done, blah blah blah.
- 30:07Speaker 6: You can't do that.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Government It's just like they're stucked. They can't get out
- 30:11Speaker 5: of this mode. Even then when they know they're wasting money.
- 30:13Speaker 5: They keeps Congress keeps authorizing money for the programs, and
- 30:16Speaker 5: then nobody ever's punished for stealing the money from the taxpayers.
- 30:20Speaker 5: And so you have fraud rates of these government programs,
- 30:24Speaker 5: sometimes twenty five percent fraud rates. I mean, can you
- 30:27Speaker 5: imagine running a business that you had twenty five percent
- 30:29Speaker 5: fraud rate. You'd be out of business in two weeks.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, Steve Moore, great stuff, and you got to
- 30:37Speaker 2: do a new book. The Trump Economic Miracle is a
- 30:39Speaker 2: great book. Everybody should go buy it, but are working
- 30:41Speaker 2: on an update of it.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Well, it's a miracle. I'm just sitting back watching it happen.
- 30:48Speaker 5: And look, if this piece deal works out, boy, it's
- 30:51Speaker 5: gonna be good for everybody. And you know, I was
- 30:53Speaker 5: on CNM last night you know why Trump is so bad.
- 30:56Speaker 5: I'm like, like, you're the people for the last fifty
- 30:57Speaker 5: years have been talking about no nukes, no nukes, and
- 30:59Speaker 5: out up is doing that in your custom. Well, you
- 31:02Speaker 5: are a brave guy going he's been going on CNN
- 31:05Speaker 5: for you.
- 31:05Speaker 7: Wow.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Well, great stuff, Steve Moore, Thanks for being with us.
- 31:10Speaker 2: We'll talk again soon. Okay, Thanks, take care. Everybody get
- 31:14Speaker 2: his book. The Trump economic miracle and sign up for
- 31:17Speaker 2: that daily briefing. It is the best news and analysis.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You just go to Unleash Prosperity dot com and just
- 31:24Speaker 2: sign it's called the Hotline. Just sign it's free. It'll
- 31:26Speaker 2: come right to your email Unleash Prosperity dot com. So
- 31:30Speaker 2: the Knick's parade is underway on a float. Is Mom
- 31:34Speaker 2: Donnie waving to people. They got these floats with the
- 31:37Speaker 2: players on it and somewhere on the top of those
- 31:40Speaker 2: big double decker buses. But a lot of the superstars
- 31:43Speaker 2: from the past and a lot of the other big names,
- 31:46Speaker 2: they're riding in cars. And the problem is if you're
- 31:50Speaker 2: in that crowd, like you know, ten people back are
- 31:52Speaker 2: thirty people back, you can't see everybody's head. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 2: cars kind of low so they're not raised up high
- 31:58Speaker 2: like on a float. But we'll keep an eye on
- 32:01Speaker 2: the parrade for you. Now, the big thing you're going
- 32:02Speaker 2: to want to hear is the ceremony. Once they all
- 32:05Speaker 2: get to City Hall. That's where they're going to do
- 32:07Speaker 2: the big ceremony. The players and everybody will speak and
- 32:10Speaker 2: they'll get the award. Alicia Keys will sing live. She's
- 32:13Speaker 2: going to sing Empire state of mind, and that's what
- 32:15Speaker 2: you want to hear. We'll bring it to you live.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Should start around eleven thirty, but just be listening here.
- 32:21Speaker 2: We'll cover it live for you, and coming up to
- 32:23Speaker 2: the next hour, Jimmy Faylor will be with us. We'll
- 32:26Speaker 2: talk to him about the Nicks. It's all just ahead
- 32:28Speaker 2: on seven to ten wor.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Now more Mark Simone now on sevento.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Well, parade is going on. Now we'll be covering it
- 32:40Speaker 2: live for you. We'll switch to our reporter down there
- 32:42Speaker 2: in the next hour and then the big thing is
- 32:44Speaker 2: the ceremony at City Hall with all the players and
- 32:48Speaker 2: all that, and we'll broadcast it live. You could actually
- 32:50Speaker 2: hear it live here. You know, we have a sponsor
- 32:53Speaker 2: called air Tasker. You know, they're very good. If you
- 32:55Speaker 2: need anything like professional service. You need somebody to fix
- 32:58Speaker 2: something in your house, you need a plumber, you need this,
- 33:00Speaker 2: you need that, you need something to do something for you,
- 33:03Speaker 2: you go to Air Tasker and they'll do anything anything
- 33:07Speaker 2: you need. So apparently they were getting a million requests
- 33:11Speaker 2: the last couple of days because if you need somebody
- 33:13Speaker 2: to wait in line somewhere, they'll do it for you.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And so they're getting a million requests people hiring them
- 33:21Speaker 2: to have somebody wait in line at the Knicks parade.
- 33:23Speaker 2: A line holder waiting line for Nix tickets, waiting line
- 33:26Speaker 2: for Nick souvenirs. You know, you gotta wait in line
- 33:28Speaker 2: like an hour at the store. So you apparently air
- 33:32Speaker 2: Tasker got more business than they expected, people wanting people
- 33:35Speaker 2: to wait in line for Nick stuff. Actually, I would
- 33:38Speaker 2: use them for a motor vehicle department, that passport office,
