- 0:30You're never fine when you say I'm fine. A lot of people have heart attacks and die immediately who are quote unquote fine. And it's the most dangerous version of us because it can kill you. You're still producing and the world rewards you for it, but your body is screaming, slow down, drained body.
- 0:51makes a noisy mind. A noisy mind makes bad decisions. Bad decisions cost you your business and your relationships. The part most people would edit out is the part you'll actually need. The therapy thing for me has been the hardest. I hated every part of it, but I loved it at the same time because it was the portal to the breakthrough of healing. It ought to be a crime to feel this good. Face your fears, live your dreams. There's no way around it.

I'm going to tell you about a health fix that changed my sleep, my recovery,
- 1:51and my energy in the last four months. And I'm going to tell you something at the end of this episode that almost no podcast host telling a story like this would tell you. So stay with me because the part most people would edit out is the part you'll actually need. The fix isn't what I'm taking. The fix was the moment I stopped accepting that I was fine because I wasn't.
- 2:21And if you've been told you're fine and you don't feel fine, this episode is for you. Welcome to the Heart of Life Thursday solo episodes. I love these, I'm in the Detroit studio today, feeling fine. My loves, I have walked in the path that you're actually walking in, five steps, each one is a checkpoint. The audience, you guys will match against their own life.
- 2:52five steps, I give you an issue and a solution. So here, this is the first step when I knew something was off. I was tired, worn down, and it's the kind of tired that sleep couldn't fix. I was getting seven, eight, nine hours of sleep. It's the kind of exhaust that you push through because you're disciplined and disciplined people don't complain. They grind harder. That's why it's called harder than life.
- 3:23So instead of caffeining up, which is what I do, I run on caffeine and protein, I'm gonna give you things. So make sure that you understand that I wasn't sick, I was functional, both Harder Than Life and NTM and CEO functional. I was able to go on stages, do my day-to-day morning routines and just all my functioning, but internally, I was smoked, man.
- 3:53at the end of the day, just falling in the bed. And I'm life's merry-go-round that you guys hear me talk about over and over and over. And it's the most dangerous version of us because it can kill you. You're still producing and the world rewards you for it, but you're
- 4:16body is screaming, slow down. My regular doctor said I was fine. I went ahead every single test done. Heart, stress, blood, EKG, everything. I just, it said, you're good. See you next year, see you in six months.
- 4:37Um, everything is in optimal range. Oh man, that I just thought of the call when I was on the telemedicine call with them. That was the moment that I knew I wasn't fine. Uh, I know my body, something is wrong. So the fork in the road that most of us miss is, um, 90% of the people just keep going. Doctor says you're fine. So you're fine. End of conversation. You go home, drink more coffee, push harder.
- 5:08and a year later your wife is telling the EMT what your symptoms were, and off to the hospital you go. Boy, that just hit home. I feel grateful I've been doing this episode for you guys. So I refuse the green light, and refusing the green light is actually the fix. Everything else is downstream of that one decision. What I mean specifically,
- 5:31Fine is not the answer when your body says otherwise. There was an old acronym for fine. I'm sure that you can ask AI what an acronym for fine is. You're never fine when you say I'm fine. So I'd searched after going to my regular doctor. I searched for a functional health practitioner and I found one and actually God was delivering me her. She's not a guru. She's not a TikTok doctor. The real functional health medicine doctor
- 6:00doing real diagnostics. The blood, the urine, and most important and disgusting, stool to see what's going on in your gut. So literally it was looking at my body as a system instead of just a checklist, which is what I see in traditional medicine. Regular doctors are there to catch the disease and treat disease. They treat the symptoms,
- 6:29And often, if there are no major symptoms and all the markers, they don't notice that there is an underlying disease. The functional practitioner is trained to find dysfunction long before disease shows up. So two very different specialties. If you go to a surgeon, a surgeon is gonna recommend surgery.
- 6:50If you come to me, who is a systems guy, I'm gonna recommend a system and working out as a part of your system and discipline. So be careful who you go to, but go to multiple people. In the optimal range is not the same as being optimized.
- 7:13The system is built for the first one. They say you're optimal. So it keeps you coming back. It makes you more sick. And it feeds the healthcare system. But absolute killers. You guys, a heart of the life nation, want optimized and through the roof, extraordinary. Or else you wouldn't be listening to this show.
- 7:37The cool thing about what I'm about to say to you is the protocol started before all the results were in. We treated some of the real symptoms. Again, I wanna be very specific because I wanna tell you the truth that most people, most podcasters won't. I don't even have all the results back yet. My practitioner knew me, knew my history, and started me on a piece of the protocol while we were waiting on the rest.
- 8:03That's a clinical call she made based on knowing me, not a shortcut, not a recommendation for anyone else. This matters specifically because I wanna be honest about where I am in the process. I'm not standing here with the finished protocol and the magic answer. I'm in the middle and I'm telling you, even the middle is better than where I was three months ago accepting that I was fine. In fact,
- 8:28As I'm recording this, my stomach is making all kinds of turns, and it definitely isn't stressed. So every day above ground is a good day, and I want you to know that as long as you're in the fight, be happy. So part of what I was put on, and you hear this everywhere, is peptide therapy. Specifically, it's tessimoralin and another peptide called GHK copper.
- 8:59sometimes nicknamed glow. So I'm gonna say this carefully because peptides are a complicated regulatory space and I'm not a doctor or your doctor. This was prescribed for me by a licensed practitioner through a legitimate compounding pharmacy based on clinical judgment of my body. And I'm not telling you to take peptides. I'm telling you what I'm taking and why.
- 9:29Here's what shifted. Better sleep, less workout volume needed for better gains. Remember, you guys have followed me. I did 555 workouts last year, too much. I've backed way off of that. I'm actually taking days off and I've seen my gains increase. I've seen my exhaustion decrease. I've seen my muscle mass, just everything. Less tired, recovering faster, energy is definitely up.
- 10:01Could some of that be peptides? Sure. Could some of it be my nervous system finally relaxed because I have a team and a plan after months of pushing through it? Also, sure. More than likely, it's both. Now, what I mean by the nervous system, as you guys know, I shared that I'm doing the IFS therapy. I have my coach. I'm going to remind you guys about my TLC method. I do it. The one thing that makes you guys all follow me is I practice what I preach, man.
- 10:30and I'm not trying to monetize, I'm the test dummy guys, the guinea pig. But here's the point, I'm trending up for the first time in a long time and that started the day I refuse to accept fine. Again, the medical system is built around the disease line. As long as you're above it, you're fine.
- 10:55But fine is a low bar. Fine is alive. Fine is functional. Fine is not optimal, vibrant, energized, and sharp. And keep in mind, a lot of people have heart attacks and die immediately who are quote unquote fine. There's a massive gap between sick and thriving. The mainstream system isn't built to close lives.
- 11:19that gap, you have to close it yourself with the right team. The body-mind business relationships calling you back, it's the same system thread you've been running all month. A drained body makes a noisy mind. A noisy mind makes bad decisions. Bad decisions cost you your business and your relationships. The work I'm doing on the body protects everything else.
- 11:46It's not vanity. Look good, feel good, do good. This is infrastructure. It is literally the Segal System. And the years of proceeding under fine caused me to slowly drift. Energy I didn't even realize I was losing. Patience you don't realize is shorter than it should be. Sleep that technically eight hours
- 12:16but isn't actual real recovery. The slow erosion that nobody warns you about because technically the doctor told you you're fine. Quick reminder for the new listeners in the old, TLC stands for Train, Learn, Coach, and Counsel. The Coach and Counsel is
- 12:36paramount right now. I have a therapist and a coach working together to clear up what's going on in my head. All the massive childhood trauma that I thought I had healed with the several modalities. So I want to dig into this. I run it every single day. Sorry for the constant listeners. You loyal Heart of the Life Nationers. I love you. I'm going to reiterate TLC again for the new people because we're growing like crazy. Thank you. I love you all. T,
- 13:04Stands for train. It's the reps, the workouts, the sleep window, the protein, the hydration, the walking, the discipline. Most people stop at and most men think is the whole game. So train your mind and your body. Literally gym and your mind through meditation. Gym meditation. Think T gym meditation. Yes, gym. Go and sweat. The L stands for learn.
- 13:30Study your body, get the labs, understand what your numbers actually mean, read your own results. Don't outsource your understanding to a 12 minute appointment with a guy who doesn't know your name. And by learning, you're listening to podcasts about how to optimize like this one, and you're reading. There's, Huberman has book out. Everybody is write books about the quick hacks and
- 13:57Guys, it's a long game, man. Consistency over intensity. So train, learn, and see is coach, counseling. Train, learn, coaching, and counseling. TLC, that's having the practitioner, the functional doctor, the mindset coach, the therapist. So your nervous system will calm down, which is probably part of the reason why you're exhausted. One holds you accountable. One points out the blind spots. So blind spots, here it is.
- 14:26which is usually the therapist, and then the coach grabs it and hammers it home. TLC, you're gonna hear me say this more and more and more because it's really that simple. Train and learn, lock it in, coaching counsel, it's what makes the breakthrough. Most people are stuck because they're trying to bench press their way out of a hormonal gut or worse, nervous system problem.
- 14:53Training alone won't fix it. You need to see. Pro tip, I just spoke three, four times last week all over the country and I said this TLC. And then when people asked me questions, they kept saying, Kelly, I've tried the therapy thing. I do the therapy thing. And if you call it the therapy thing, you're not doing it right, guys.
- 15:21Because the therapy thing for me has been the hardest, most uncomfortable, most mirror moment. I hated every part of it. But I loved it at the same time because it was the portal to the breakthrough of feeling. It ought to be a crime to feel this good. So.
- 15:44To get big and strong, you got to rip your muscles and that's painful. To get a calm nervous system, you got to go into those deepest, darkest fears, face your fears, live your dreams and witness them and dissipate them. There's no way around it. I really wish there was. I really wish I had a hack for you. I don't.
- 16:03So stop accepting fine, my loves. If you've been told you're fine, you don't feel fine. Again, I always end these episodes with the fix. There's the solution, three steps. First step, if you've been told you're fine, you don't feel fine, say it out loud. First to yourself, then someone else. I'm not fine. The sentence is the unlock. Most people will never say it because it feels like weakness.
- 16:31It's the opposite. It's the most disciplined thing you can do and it's the kindest thing you can do for yourself, your family, and the world. Step two, find a functional health practitioner. Not a guru, not a holistic medicine, not someone, I'm seeing a lot of this, everybody pushing peptides on social media.
- 16:55Don't do that. No Instagram doctors. Go to a licensed credentialed practitioner in your city, preferably, or via telehealth who runs deeper diagnostics. Blood, stool, urine, hormones, micronutrients. Ask your network. Don't go through the internet for this one. Number three, get the labs.
- 17:22read the results and follow the protocol. Nothing works unless you do. And it needs to be disciplined as heck. Stack all this on top of an already locked foundation. All you guys listening to me, I give you the habits and rituals that we do every single week. Not as a shortcut around the work, train, sleep, eat, hydrate first, then layer this precision on top of it.
- 17:49Spoiler alert. I've got someone coming on the show in a few weeks who can help. If you don't have anyone to go to, listen for that episode. But your first move isn't that. Your first move is saying, I'm not fine out loud. I'm not going to spoil who that is, by the way. She's amazing. But you guys are going to love her and we're going to share her.
- 18:14all of my results, hopefully live on air. That's what we're waiting for, by the way. Please, if you've made it this far, you're not fine, or you just wanna be absolutely excellent, just look in the mirror and say, I'm not fine, and find us a functional health medicine. Share this with someone in your life who's been told they're fine.
- 18:38And you can see they're not. Subscribe to our YouTube channel. We're going to do this real time in public a long hallway. Remember, the fix isn't a peptide. The fix isn't a supplement. The fix isn't a protocol. The fix is the moment you stop accepting fine and start chasing optimal.
- 19:01The body change will follow. The life upgrade will continue after that. The version of you that's been buried under the exhaustion comes along with it. In range is not optimal. Don't settle for in range. This is Harder Than Life, and I'll see you next Thursday. Get off life's hamster wheel, jump on life's roller coaster, and chase being happier than life.
