- 0:37Speaker 1: things we're kind of hoping stick around from this last
- 0:40Speaker 1: year of lockdown. So go give that episode a listen

- 1:06Speaker 1: Like we mentioned, this week's episode is Don't Go Break
- 1:08Speaker 1: in My Heart and Wendy, do you have a synopsis?
- 1:11Speaker 2: I do? I am ready for it. Today, Miranda runs
- 1:15Speaker 2: a boot camp for the recently broken hearted. She begins
- 1:18Speaker 2: to form a connection with new client Ben, who is
- 1:20Speaker 2: also a reporter investigating whether her boot Camp is a
- 1:24Speaker 2: fad or a phenomenon. Starring Italia Ricci and Ryan Pavey,
- 1:31Speaker 2: News and notes, I don't really have anything.
- 1:36Speaker 1: No, oh, I have one thing again, of course, filmed
- 1:39Speaker 1: in Canada, set in Portland. But one thing I would
- 1:43Speaker 1: like to point out is Italia Ricci, who is the
- 1:44Speaker 1: star of this movie. She has a super fun and
- 1:47Speaker 1: highly relatable Instagram and I would recommend following her. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: am enjoying her fan.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Frea fantastic she was an designated survivor. Did you watch
- 1:56Speaker 2: that show?
- 1:57Speaker 1: I watched the first season and then I kind of
- 2:01Speaker 1: dropped away. But then I saw that I think it
- 2:05Speaker 1: was picked up as a Netflix series, like it was
- 2:07Speaker 1: dropped from Network TV and then Netflix picked up and
- 2:09Speaker 1: continued it. So I'm I enjoyed it.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I only watched. I only watched the first season.
- 2:15Speaker 2: After that, I didn't, I didn't really watch it. I mean,
- 2:18Speaker 2: we have real life politics happening. Why do I need
- 2:20Speaker 2: to watch a real you know politics, you know whatever
- 2:25Speaker 2: going on?
- 2:25Speaker 1: I mean, hello, I love the West Wing, so.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah, true, true, true, Okay. First impressions of this movie, Megan.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Man, I'm real torn about my first impressions.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Of this movie, I thought it was when we get
- 2:45Speaker 3: to what we liked, I'll tell you what I think
- 2:47Speaker 3: was the best part about this movie.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I thought it was Okay, you loved it, and I.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Liked it so so, so, so very much.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yes, Okay, let's jump into what we liked, because I
- 3:04Speaker 1: think that can I guess one of the things you
- 3:07Speaker 1: loved about this movie? Sure, go ahead, I when I
- 3:11Speaker 1: was ready. Now when I liked. One thing I liked
- 3:13Speaker 1: that I thought you would also like was all of
- 3:15Speaker 1: the activities happening in the movie, the ziplining, the rock climbing,
- 3:18Speaker 1: the escape room. That there was a lot going on,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and I felt that kept the story moving at a
- 3:24Speaker 1: really nice clip.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I would absolutely agree.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yes, what else did you like about this movie?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I loved Miranda Italia Ricci's how
- 3:37Speaker 2: you say her name, Italia, That's how I would say it, Okay.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I thought she was so great as an actress. She
- 3:45Speaker 2: wasn't like uh, Sometimes I have a hard time watching
- 3:50Speaker 2: these actors in these movies, like it's a struggle to
- 3:55Speaker 2: believe them. I believed her as Marie Randa. I really
- 4:03Speaker 2: enjoyed Ryan Babe, so he was in that Christmas movie
- 4:09Speaker 2: where it was a time travel and he came back
- 4:12Speaker 2: from like I don't know, and he was a little
- 4:14Speaker 2: stiff and weird, like because his character was very like
- 4:19Speaker 2: uncomfortable with being in twenty twenty or you know, current
- 4:23Speaker 2: day or whatever, right, So it was hard to see,
- 4:27Speaker 2: Like I've never seen him in anything else besides that
- 4:30Speaker 2: movie and this one, and I kind of thought he
- 4:32Speaker 2: had the same kind of like cadence when he talked,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, maybe that's just who he
- 4:37Speaker 2: is as an actor. So I wish he was like
- 4:40Speaker 2: maybe a little bit more loose is the way that.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I did want to like shake him a little bit,
- 4:45Speaker 1: like yeah, right exactly.
- 4:48Speaker 2: But I enjoyed him as well, and I find him
- 4:52Speaker 2: very easy to look at, so that makes it so
- 4:55Speaker 2: much easier to watch.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I agree with what you say about Italia Ricci being very,
- 5:00Speaker 1: very believable as Miranda, Like I could see her on
- 5:02Speaker 1: the morning shows talking about her Breakup boot Camp. One
- 5:05Speaker 1: hundred percent would have believed that. The news and note
- 5:09Speaker 1: that we forgot is that this movie had a last
- 5:11Speaker 1: minute name change. It was originally called Breakup boot Camp
- 5:14Speaker 1: and was changed to Don't Go Breaking my Heart very
- 5:17Speaker 1: close to the release date. I don't know what drives
- 5:20Speaker 1: these decisions, but that did happen.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I think they should have kept it Breakup boot Camp.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Me too, Like, I don't understand why the name changed
- 5:30Speaker 2: Don't Go Break in my Heart Like I yeah, I
- 5:33Speaker 2: just wish they did not change. Actually, I don't care
- 5:36Speaker 2: that they changed the name of this movie, but I
- 5:38Speaker 2: think Breakup boot Camp would have been a perfectly fine
- 5:41Speaker 2: name for this movie.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I agree. I think Don't Go Break in my Heart
- 5:44Speaker 1: centers it more on the action of the characters together
- 5:47Speaker 1: as opposed to Miranda's specific business, right, because Breakup boot
- 5:53Speaker 1: Camp isn't about Ben at all, even though he's in it.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I don't know anyway, I don't think the argument being
- 5:58Speaker 1: made either way.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Let it be about Miranda and Miranda's right, It's okay, yeah, yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 2: it doesn't have to be a mutual like story. It
- 6:09Speaker 2: could be Miranda's story. It doesn't have to be Miranda
- 6:12Speaker 2: and Ben's story.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Hey, I loved that this movie was really funny.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Uh Okay, First of all, I wrote down I love
- 6:21Speaker 2: some of the lines. Shout out to Nina Weinman for
- 6:24Speaker 2: writing a script that includes conversations and lines that real
- 6:28Speaker 2: people would actually be sane and having.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yes, I liked the ruth the cat with shared custody.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, that was hilarious.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I liked when Miranda told Ben that a nine year
- 6:40Speaker 1: old could take him while he was rock climbing.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I just thought there was And I think the characters,
- 6:46Speaker 1: especially Miranda, she was really good at just kind of
- 6:49Speaker 1: these dry, like throwaway lines that on their own when
- 6:52Speaker 1: you repeat them, aren't that funny. But I think she
- 6:55Speaker 1: just that I enjoyed her humor.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I absolutely agree. One of my favorite line was when
- 7:00Speaker 2: he's like telling Miranda how he met his ex girlfriend's
- 7:04Speaker 2: new guy, and he's like, he called me bro, and
- 7:06Speaker 2: I almost died.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I almost died.
- 7:10Speaker 2: And I agree with you that Italian Ricci was able
- 7:14Speaker 2: to like sell these like kind of like you said,
- 7:17Speaker 2: dry lines, like with like her face and her expression
- 7:22Speaker 2: and like just of who she was as a as
- 7:25Speaker 2: a character. I just I loved it so much. Anything
- 7:29Speaker 2: else that you liked, I did, Yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 7:32Speaker 2: I legitimately thought that these two had chemistry. This is
- 7:38Speaker 2: a big, big sticking point for me, Like I have
- 7:42Speaker 2: a hard time investing in these like romantic comedies when
- 7:45Speaker 2: I don't feel like there's any actual like sexual tension
- 7:52Speaker 2: between like the two characters. Now, if I compare it
- 7:55Speaker 2: to last week's I felt that that those two in
- 7:59Speaker 2: that Waterfall Me were ice cold. In this movie, I
- 8:03Speaker 2: felt there was actual chemistry between the two characters. And
- 8:06Speaker 2: I don't know if that's casting or if it's because
- 8:09Speaker 2: these are two seasoned actors or what, but I very
- 8:15Speaker 2: much felt it, like when they were dancing and a
- 8:17Speaker 2: dipter and you know, I just yeah, I was into it.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I was into it. I was also into the beautiful
- 8:26Speaker 2: exterior shots of Portland. I've been to Portland many, many,
- 8:30Speaker 2: many times, so I appreciated that they kind of showed
- 8:33Speaker 2: some kind of like landmark things. The only thing is, though,
- 8:38Speaker 2: of course, this was filmed in British Columbia, and they
- 8:43Speaker 2: had all these scenes where they're like on the water,
- 8:46Speaker 2: and as many times it felt more like Seattle than
- 8:49Speaker 2: it didn't Organ to me, because yeah, I don't know,
- 8:53Speaker 2: but whatever, if you've never been to Portland, Organ, you
- 8:56Speaker 2: wouldn't know. You wouldn't be any smarter, Noneweiser, What were
- 9:00Speaker 2: the saying is.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I really liked that Miranda's breakup boot camp business felt
- 9:06Speaker 1: like a real thing that could exist. Sometimes these businesses
- 9:11Speaker 1: and endeavors in these movies, you're like, how does this
- 9:15Speaker 1: thing like the Christmas museum that opens on Christmas Eve?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Like how thing a suggest? I felt like they really
- 9:21Speaker 1: fleshed out the business really well to make it believable,
- 9:26Speaker 1: Like they showed all of the steps, and I thought like,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I could totally see this being a thing, don't. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: thought they did a great job of not just creating
- 9:36Speaker 1: the business, but making it believable and figuring out all
- 9:39Speaker 1: the moving parts of it.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I absolutely agree because I was thinking, I was like,
- 9:45Speaker 2: if I was ever like in a long term relationship
- 9:48Speaker 2: or not, you know, and ended up heartbroken, would I
- 9:52Speaker 2: go to some sort of boot camp? Yes? I would
- 9:54Speaker 2: because that kind of like uh self h improvement. This
- 10:00Speaker 2: stuff kind of interests me. So yes, this could be it,
- 10:03Speaker 2: and I'm sure it is probably a legitimate business.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, and I think they did a good job of
- 10:09Speaker 1: connecting the activities to the message, right. It didn't make
- 10:15Speaker 1: you guess like why are they doing this? Ropes course
- 10:17Speaker 1: and she's like, look how strong you are, Look how
- 10:19Speaker 1: far you've come. You know, I just thought you couldn't
- 10:22Speaker 1: you know it. You could have felt that was silly.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I thought it was great. I thought they did a
- 10:27Speaker 1: good job of it. Seemed like they had done their
- 10:30Speaker 1: research into kind of the psychology of recovering from a
- 10:34Speaker 1: brain right, right.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And speaking of like the boot camp, the uh, the
- 10:39Speaker 2: character who she goes this is my second time taking
- 10:42Speaker 2: it because apparently six weeks isn't enough for a thirty
- 10:45Speaker 2: year marriage, and I was like, what is I'm dying.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I'm dying, I'm dying. I loved it and thought it
- 10:53Speaker 2: was totally believable. My last favorite thing was that they
- 10:57Speaker 2: had a Sean Mendes at the end of the movie.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Did you catch that?
- 11:03Speaker 1: I did not?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yes, you know, okay, I know. I've come on here
- 11:09Speaker 2: week after week after week, and sometimes I shit on
- 11:12Speaker 2: these Hallmark movies of being as fake movies. Right. There
- 11:18Speaker 2: was just something about this movie that made it feel
- 11:24Speaker 2: like a real movie opposed to like a cheesy rom com.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And having a real song that is like a popular
- 11:35Speaker 2: song right now being played in the movie made it
- 11:40Speaker 2: feel like it was like I was watching a real
- 11:42Speaker 2: movie that had like a budget behind it, and it
- 11:45Speaker 2: wasn't just thrown together because they needed content for their
- 11:50Speaker 2: Spring Fling lineup.
- 11:51Speaker 1: So yeah, and I think all of those activities like
- 11:55Speaker 1: going to the rock claiming gym, going to the ropes course,
- 11:57Speaker 1: going to the escape room. I think all of that
- 11:59Speaker 1: led weight to the movie. Also because they had to
- 12:03Speaker 1: scout all these locations. It wasn't like they took a
- 12:06Speaker 1: store and they turned it into a B and B
- 12:08Speaker 1: by making one corner a bedroom in one corner a
- 12:10Speaker 1: living room in one corner, the check in area right
- 12:14Speaker 1: like they had at all of these real locations. And
- 12:17Speaker 1: I agree with you that all those things add up
- 12:21Speaker 1: to give this movie a little bit of weight right
- 12:23Speaker 1: right time for uh oh. Roadblocks placed in the way
- 12:27Speaker 1: of our movie couple.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Okay, Well, the biggest one is is Ben's gonna run
- 12:32Speaker 2: an expose on her boot camp. And it felt very
- 12:37Speaker 2: much like How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days,
- 12:39Speaker 2: Yeah a little Bit, which is one of my favorite movies,
- 12:43Speaker 2: and every time it's on and I flip by it,
- 12:45Speaker 2: I will stop and watch it. I really enjoy that movie.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So obviously that was like a huge roadblock into like
- 12:53Speaker 2: their budding relationship.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I had, uh oh, Ben doesn't really believe than
- 13:00Speaker 1: Miranda's program.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Well even at times, like he was jokingly calling it
- 13:04Speaker 2: a cult, which I thought was quite funny.
- 13:10Speaker 1: And then I wrote, Oh, Ben has a bruised heart
- 13:12Speaker 1: from a recent breakup, come up, but does he really right?
- 13:16Speaker 2: He didn't seem to take it that hard when like
- 13:18Speaker 2: she dumped him at the beginning of that movie.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Right, and then we learned later on that it's not
- 13:24Speaker 1: really her that he's dealing with but a past relationship
- 13:28Speaker 1: ye engaged. I just didn't really buy him as broken hearted.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I think he was kind of along for the ride.
- 13:34Speaker 2: But yeah, well he was really there with you know,
- 13:37Speaker 2: at the ask of a sister, which I enjoyed. Like,
- 13:42Speaker 2: this is what I like about when movies have like
- 13:44Speaker 2: when characters have other people, like he had his sister
- 13:49Speaker 2: and Miranda had her business partner, and you know, there's
- 13:53Speaker 2: a greater conversations to be had and it's not just
- 13:58Speaker 2: like centered on like two people. So I enjoyed like
- 14:01Speaker 2: the sister going through her you know, breakup boot camp,
- 14:04Speaker 2: and even the morning guy who was there. Think, yes,
- 14:11Speaker 2: I enjoyed that as well. I was invested in these
- 14:14Speaker 2: characters and that's what made me like it so much.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Well, you know what's funny is I think a lot
- 14:20Speaker 1: of these movies have these side characters, and sometimes they
- 14:22Speaker 1: struggle to give them a storyline and they end up
- 14:25Speaker 1: adding all of these other storylines and there's too much
- 14:27Speaker 1: to follow. Every single one of these side characters had
- 14:30Speaker 1: a storyline that fed the main storyline, right, and the
- 14:33Speaker 1: puzzle pieces fit together so nicely that it wasn't like
- 14:36Speaker 1: we had the sister and we had the business partner
- 14:39Speaker 1: off doing their own thing. They all kind of worked together.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And I think that's a skill that a good writer
- 14:46Speaker 1: can do, and not everybody is a great writer, as
- 14:49Speaker 1: we've seen in some of these movies, Like they know
- 14:51Speaker 1: we need to have these supporting characters, we can't quite
- 14:54Speaker 1: figure out how to give them a role that serves
- 14:56Speaker 1: the story.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And they did a great job in this agreed. Did
- 15:00Speaker 2: you have any other oh, roadblocks?
- 15:03Speaker 1: I did not. What did you wish for?
- 15:05Speaker 2: I wished for? And this is just kind of a
- 15:07Speaker 2: side note, but I liked how it was handled in
- 15:11Speaker 2: these movies. I do not want people to fall in
- 15:14Speaker 2: love so quickly, right. These are she is a divorcee, right,
- 15:21Speaker 2: and he was almost engaged like so they're like of
- 15:25Speaker 2: a certain age. They're not like twenty year olds who
- 15:27Speaker 2: are gonna fall in love in one week. You know,
- 15:29Speaker 2: there's there's baggage and there's concern and boundaries and whatever.
- 15:35Speaker 2: So I just wish that like characters don't like be like, yes,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I'm in love with you. And I thought it was
- 15:42Speaker 2: handled in this movie pretty well, like they were like
- 15:45Speaker 2: we're friends, were and he's like did you friend zone me?
- 15:48Speaker 2: And like, you know, so like they they knew how
- 15:52Speaker 2: to like, you know, stay friendly, but they did have
- 15:56Speaker 2: like romantic feelings for it. So but in the end,
- 16:01Speaker 2: like I just don't love when they're like, yes, you're
- 16:04Speaker 2: my new boyfriend. So I think I wished for like
- 16:09Speaker 2: maybe not like a love story, even though this is
- 16:15Speaker 2: what these movies are.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You have to play a little more build up, like
- 16:18Speaker 1: they yeah, they're just figuring it out now.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I do like at the end, how, especially in this movie,
- 16:24Speaker 2: how they're like three months later, you know, so like
- 16:27Speaker 2: it looks like, okay, yes we're taking some time and
- 16:30Speaker 2: now he hears where we're at. Yes, that was a
- 16:34Speaker 2: lot to be said, But what did you wish for?
- 16:37Speaker 1: I wished that Ben had shown that he felt a
- 16:41Speaker 1: little bit more conflicted about writing this article.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Clearly knew that it could potentially be a problem based
- 16:52Speaker 1: on the conversations he had with his boss. And then
- 16:54Speaker 1: when Miranda shows up at his work and he gives
- 16:56Speaker 1: his boss like very obvious like don't say anything to
- 16:59Speaker 1: her eyes. But in none of his interactions with Miranda,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you know, sometimes they show that by like she walks
- 17:06Speaker 1: away and they make like a confused, frustrated fit, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: like he feels like, oh, maybe I'm having this great
- 17:12Speaker 1: time with her. She trusts me, and I'm going to
- 17:15Speaker 1: betray that. And I don't feel that I ever got
- 17:19Speaker 1: the feeling that he felt particularly bad about the consequences
- 17:25Speaker 1: and what he was doing right right, And then of
- 17:28Speaker 1: course he ends up writing like a glowing review of
- 17:30Speaker 1: her boot camp. It's funny as like somebody me who writes,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I also write from like a pessimistic viewpoint on things,
- 17:44Speaker 1: And I can see like how you know he's writing
- 17:48Speaker 1: because that's what's going to get read. He's not writing
- 17:51Speaker 1: like a glowing review of something, So yes, they should
- 17:55Speaker 1: have showed him being more conflicted, like he has feelings
- 17:58Speaker 1: for this girl and and her boot camp is working,
- 18:02Speaker 1: so how am I gonna write an expose about it? Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah, I honestly thought she forgave him too quickly.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And I know the movie has to end, but I
- 18:15Speaker 1: thought it was pretty shady what he was doing and
- 18:19Speaker 1: whether he you know, he didn't go in with that intention,
- 18:22Speaker 1: but he had plenty of opportunity to say, hey, my
- 18:25Speaker 1: boss found out I'm here and they'd like me to
- 18:27Speaker 1: write an article. I know it kind of I don't know.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I thought it was shady, and as much as I
- 18:32Speaker 1: wanted them to end up together, a lot of times
- 18:35Speaker 1: I feel like there's manufactured drama in these movies. I
- 18:38Speaker 1: felt like this was real drama, and I didn't I
- 18:41Speaker 1: didn't like that he had did he had done that.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, because you know what would have been cool is
- 18:49Speaker 2: if she found out was like, look, dude, this is
- 18:52Speaker 2: this is going to like ruin my reputation, my livelihood, Like,
- 18:57Speaker 2: you know, he just couldn't believe that there was so
- 19:00Speaker 2: much success from it. So yeah, I understand, I agree.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I think that that would have been an interesting part
- 19:08Speaker 2: of the story if they would have expanded a little
- 19:10Speaker 2: bit more on that.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Yeah, how about did you see that?
- 19:14Speaker 2: Okay, I only have one huge one, Yeah, and it
- 19:20Speaker 2: was the Noom.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Sign yes, top of my list.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I fully had to rewind it because I was like,
- 19:29Speaker 2: is that actually a Noom sign? And then I was like, hmm,
- 19:32Speaker 2: I wonder if that's just there in the place that
- 19:35Speaker 2: they're shooting and that's coincidence. And then of course here
- 19:37Speaker 2: comes the commercial. Yeah, no way, that was really funny. Yes,
- 19:44Speaker 2: we kind of interesting though, because the Noom program is
- 19:48Speaker 2: not just like a diet program. It's a it's like
- 19:50Speaker 2: a psychology program, like the psychology of eating, which goes
- 19:55Speaker 2: very well with the theme of the movie. You know.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I I thought it was a good product placement.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Actually, that's a good point. I had a couple others
- 20:07Speaker 1: when Ben and Miranda run into Ben's ex Jennifer I
- 20:12Speaker 1: believe is her name, and she goes, this isn't what
- 20:14Speaker 1: it looks like. We're just going to lunch, and I
- 20:16Speaker 1: was like, who cares, guys are broken up, you're not naked.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I don't understand why they were so awkward. I mean,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I could understand, it's still awkward, but all you just
- 20:27Speaker 1: say is I don't know hi, and that's the end
- 20:29Speaker 1: of it. This isn't what it looks like.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Well, Ben was with a woman too, You didn't hear
- 20:34Speaker 2: him say like, this is not what it looks like,
- 20:35Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, that was funny.
- 20:38Speaker 1: When Ben meets Miranda for the first time at the
- 20:41Speaker 1: valets stand, Miranda goes, do you want to talk about it?
- 20:43Speaker 1: And I thought, no way, no, no, you're not asking
- 20:47Speaker 1: that question to the dude of the ballet stand.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I get it. What I appreciated about that scene is
- 20:52Speaker 2: that they looked like they were in front of like
- 20:54Speaker 2: a real restaurant, and if anybody knows anything about Portland,
- 20:57Speaker 2: it's like a super foody city. So like, I like
- 20:59Speaker 2: that they were like at like what looked like a
- 21:03Speaker 2: cool looking restaurant type place. But yeah, like to get
- 21:08Speaker 2: into this full on conversation, like she was like head
- 21:11Speaker 2: shrinking him or whatever, right, And I don't know, I
- 21:15Speaker 2: don't know. I kind of did like how they organically
- 21:18Speaker 2: met because you never saw her in the restaurant, right,
- 21:22Speaker 2: So I liked the direction the movie took in that
- 21:27Speaker 2: kind of scene.
- 21:28Speaker 1: In that scene in the rock climbing gym, is Miranda
- 21:31Speaker 1: tying her own climbing knots?
- 21:34Speaker 2: I think she was.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I was very impressed.
- 21:38Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know anything about rock climbing, neither
- 21:40Speaker 2: do I. I thought it was very funny how she
- 21:43Speaker 2: was getting him so much crap about because he couldn't
- 21:45Speaker 2: like get up. It would take me an hour to
- 21:48Speaker 2: scale that wall, so let's just be honest.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But when they switched walls and he goes to the
- 21:53Speaker 1: second wall and he's like, I'm done. His foot is
- 21:55Speaker 1: literally hovering directly above a step, like he could have
- 21:59Speaker 1: got Like all do was put his foot down. He
- 22:01Speaker 1: could have gone up a little bit more. But he's like,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I can't do it.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not like he was not fit, Like he
- 22:07Speaker 2: is a fit man. Naturally, he could have easily pulled
- 22:10Speaker 2: himself up on this wall. Absolutely, absolutely, I don't know
- 22:17Speaker 2: if you noticed. And this is just it just hits
- 22:21Speaker 2: me in the heart of wanting to have own my
- 22:24Speaker 2: own little coffee car or hot dog stand. Those things
- 22:27Speaker 2: were so cute. I want a hot dog stand in
- 22:32Speaker 2: my neighborhood. I want an outdoor coffee stand that I
- 22:34Speaker 2: can just walk up to. Yeah, did these things exist?
- 22:39Speaker 1: They're in the middle of the city. I mean they
- 22:41Speaker 1: exist in the middle of a city.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Do they? So? Like, if I go to Los Angeles,
- 22:46Speaker 2: will those things be there?
- 22:47Speaker 1: I mean there's street meat. I don't know. If you
- 22:49Speaker 1: want to eat up. But yeah, there's hot.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I enjoy street meat in New York, so as do I. Okay,
- 22:56Speaker 2: don't be trying to shame me with the street meat.
- 23:00Speaker 1: It always smells amazing.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I know, I know you're right. There are hot dog
- 23:04Speaker 2: stands in Los Angeles.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I mean, like, if you've ever left the Hollywood Bowl,
- 23:08Speaker 1: you can smell yeah stands like as you're leaving.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I know, didn't we buy a hot dog in New
- 23:14Speaker 2: York from a truck?
- 23:15Speaker 1: We did? Sure, we did. I definitely had a hot
- 23:17Speaker 1: dog in New York from a truck.
- 23:19Speaker 2: But I just wanted to be cute. I want food,
- 23:21Speaker 2: but cute, you know, and I want it in my city.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So yeah, at the end of your streets that you
- 23:27Speaker 1: can just walk to.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Yes, yes, like, honey, let's go for a walk and
- 23:31Speaker 2: like pick up a hot dog and a latte. I
- 23:34Speaker 2: don't know anyway, a hot dog and a lante. That
- 23:37Speaker 2: sounds awful. I know that sounds awful about a hot dog,
- 23:42Speaker 2: and I have iced coffee that still still sounds terrible.
- 23:48Speaker 1: What else do I have? Okay? They talk about the
- 23:51Speaker 1: fine print several times, and even Ben's boss brings it
- 23:54Speaker 1: up to him but does that ever play out?
- 23:56Speaker 2: Never?
- 23:57Speaker 1: No, I didn't think so, and I wonder if it's
- 24:00Speaker 1: just something that got cut where maybe there was something
- 24:04Speaker 1: where like you don't discuss the specifics of her program.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Oh interesting, Yeah, but I thought it was interesting. They
- 24:13Speaker 1: made such a big deal out of it more than once.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And the last thing I have is that Dex Miranda's
- 24:19Speaker 1: ex husband is a little intense, like she likes his
- 24:22Speaker 1: photo and he's like, we need to talk.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that was super weird because we don't did they
- 24:26Speaker 2: ever say how long they had been divorced?
- 24:30Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't track it.
- 24:32Speaker 2: If they did, Well, she's like totally creeping on his
- 24:34Speaker 2: Instagram and then accidentally hits like you know the part
- 24:39Speaker 2: or whatever. But yeah, the phone call like we need
- 24:41Speaker 2: to talk, Well, he just needed to tell her that
- 24:43Speaker 2: he was getting married. But still it was right.
- 24:46Speaker 1: It does pan out to be a real reason, but
- 24:48Speaker 1: like he shows upout her work and he keeps calling her,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and I was like, dude, saw your role, Like it's
- 24:54Speaker 1: just like come to find out. He wanted to be
- 24:56Speaker 1: the one to tell her he was getting married, which
- 24:58Speaker 1: I appreciated, and I like that she got to have
- 25:01Speaker 1: that moment I'm like, oh, I'm actually just happy for you.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So what did you rate this movie? I?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Okay, Like I told you last week, I am rating
- 25:11Speaker 2: these movies in the spring. Fleeing Cannon Only and Don't
- 25:16Speaker 2: Go Break In My Heart gets three and a half stars.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Whoa, I gave it three.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I liked it so so, so very much.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Well, that makes me happy.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I just thought it was different. It just felt like
- 25:30Speaker 2: a different movie. It didn't follow the same kind of patterns,
- 25:34Speaker 2: but it did. I don't know. I enjoyed it quite
- 25:37Speaker 2: a bit. Can we talk about One Perfect Wedding?
- 25:40Speaker 1: Okay, it is a trilogy.
- 25:43Speaker 2: This is the third in a series. I've never seen
- 25:46Speaker 2: the other two obviously, do you know what the other
- 25:50Speaker 2: two are? The two other movies are One Winter Weekend
- 25:56Speaker 2: and Winter Proposal, And now we have One Perfect Wedding.
- 26:02Speaker 1: All right, guys, we'll be back next week. Of course,
- 26:03Speaker 1: on Tuesday we have our regular podcast episode, and then
- 26:06Speaker 1: Thursday we'll be here to discuss One Perfect Wedding, the
- 26:10Speaker 1: third movie in Hallmark Sprinkling, and also the third movie
- 26:13Speaker 1: in a trilogy. So we will list those movies in
- 26:16Speaker 1: the show notes. If you feel like catching up on
- 26:17Speaker 1: the first two before the final movie. It would be
- 26:20Speaker 1: smart if they aired them like one right after another. Right,
- 26:23Speaker 1: but we may be going into this one blind, who knows,
- 26:27Speaker 1: so it will be interesting to see our thoughts on
- 26:29Speaker 1: this movie, considering we are not experts on the previous
- 26:32Speaker 1: two movies, so come back for that. If you have
- 26:34Speaker 1: thoughts on any of these movies, please email us Megan
- 26:37Speaker 1: and Wendy at gmail dot com. And as always, we
- 26:40Speaker 1: love ratings and reviews, so if you have some nice
- 26:43Speaker 1: things to say, give us a five star rating, leave
- 26:46Speaker 1: a review. It helps us out a lot. Until next time, everybody,
- 26:49Speaker 1: have a great week.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Goodbye,
