- 0:10Speaker 1: It's the report.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Tonight the war, the war with Iran widens as Iran
- 0:19Speaker 2: gets more desperate, and how it's going to change the
- 0:22Speaker 2: world and affect Australia, plus an Iranian protest. The contradicts
- 0:26Speaker 2: from MS the Penny Wong says, keep the bombing going
- 0:30Speaker 2: or so tonight the ABC's disgraceful coverage of this war,
- 0:34Speaker 2: plus of course the latest polls bad news for the liberals.
- 0:39Speaker 1: But first.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Americas Donald Trump and Israel's Benjamin Etnier, who have launched
- 0:44Speaker 2: an attack in Iran that is going to change the
- 0:47Speaker 2: world and if it succeeds so, and the signs are
- 0:51Speaker 2: already that it will. After just two days so far
- 0:54Speaker 2: of missile and drone attacks for more than five hundred targets,
- 0:57Speaker 2: the US and Israel have already taken out forty eight
- 1:01Speaker 2: of the top leaders of this Islamic fascist regime, including
- 1:05Speaker 2: the Supreme Leader and his defense chiefs. The Iranian regimes
- 1:10Speaker 2: and chaos, and the already signs of some splits at
- 1:12Speaker 2: the top. On the one side, there are elements of
- 1:15Speaker 2: the army and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps who are
- 1:19Speaker 2: firing missiles and drones at every Arab neighbor including the
- 1:22Speaker 2: United Arab Emirates, QA, Jordan and Qatar. Has even hit
- 1:26Speaker 2: the world's busiest airline airport in Dubai, paralyzing international flights,
- 1:32Speaker 2: with Qatar's airport also shut. On the other hand, he
- 1:36Speaker 2: runs foreign minister. It's not quite apologized to his Arab neighbors,
- 1:39Speaker 2: but did say, well, the leadership, or what's left of it,
- 1:43Speaker 2: has asked now the army to just hit American targets
- 1:46Speaker 2: from now on.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We have already told our army armed forces to be
- 1:54Speaker 3: careful about the targets that they choose. Our military military
- 2:01Speaker 3: units are now in fact independent and somehow isolated, and
- 2:07Speaker 3: they are acting based on instructions, you know, the general
- 2:12Speaker 3: instructions given to them in advance.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Those instructors they're operating in were attack everything. But it's
- 2:20Speaker 2: all too late to stop this now because all the
- 2:22Speaker 2: Gulf states are condemned Iran. Several are now said to
- 2:25Speaker 2: be about to help Israel and the US actually attack Iran,
- 2:29Speaker 2: and Britain, France and Germany say they'll help the Gulf
- 2:32Speaker 2: states defend themselves. So this wall is widening, but all
- 2:36Speaker 2: in ways that hurt Iran.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That's it.
- 2:39Speaker 2: America has also been heard. It seems to have lost
- 2:41Speaker 2: this plane for a start, with AP reporting the pilots
- 2:45Speaker 2: are safe. It's unsure what has caused this crash. The
- 2:47Speaker 2: US military has yet to comment. It seems maybe the
- 2:51Speaker 2: speculations friendly far, but it has confirmed losing three soldiers
- 2:56Speaker 2: based in Qait in an Iranian attack. Donald Trump has
- 3:00Speaker 2: vowed revenge.
- 3:02Speaker 4: And sadly there will likely be more before it ends.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That's the way it is, but America will avenge their
- 3:10Speaker 4: deaths and deliver the most punishing blow to the terrorists
- 3:14Speaker 4: who have waged war against basically civilization.
- 3:20Speaker 2: But add also to America's losses, two people shot dead
- 3:24Speaker 2: in a bar in Austin, Texas by an immigrant from
- 3:28Speaker 2: immigrant from Senegal, the mainly Muslim country, shot by a
- 3:32Speaker 2: man wearing a shirt saying property of Allah and an
- 3:36Speaker 2: undershirt with an Iranian flag theme a warning again there
- 3:40Speaker 2: about Muslim immigration.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Israel has also.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Been hurt, with nine Israelis killed in Iranian missile attacks.
- 3:46Speaker 2: That said, the losses of these allies have been astonishingly light,
- 3:51Speaker 2: and that's a tribute to two things that should worry
- 3:53Speaker 2: every enemy of Israel and the United States. First, the
- 3:57Speaker 2: astonishing intelligence and especially Israel have had I mean, how
- 4:03Speaker 2: did they know that around Supreme Leader and stop officials
- 4:06Speaker 2: were meeting on Saturday into Iran and where, which of
- 4:09Speaker 2: course allowed Israel in the US to kill them all
- 4:13Speaker 2: and get this net YEAHU and Trump both had bodies
- 4:15Speaker 2: of Kameni's body before Iran even admitted he died, and
- 4:21Speaker 2: many hours before announcers cried about the Supreme Leader's.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Death on TV. Ye're not in law. Now.
- 4:33Speaker 2: That penetration tells you how many Iranian officials must be
- 4:36Speaker 2: cooperating with the Israel and the US in their intelligence services.
- 4:41Speaker 2: How many must want their own regime gone, knowing it's
- 4:45Speaker 2: a disaster.
- 4:45Speaker 1: For the country.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And second, the second thing here is the technology of
- 4:51Speaker 2: the US in Israel.
- 4:52Speaker 1: We're able to make.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Iran look almost toothless in comparison. And it's not just
- 4:57Speaker 2: the advanced weaponry. This identity unknown. It interrupted Iranian television
- 5:03Speaker 2: to show Nettnieou and Trump making speeches to the Iranian people,
- 5:06Speaker 2: asking the soldiers to surrender and the people to rise
- 5:10Speaker 2: against the regime. Some also showed the son of the
- 5:13Speaker 2: late Shah as well, now seen as an unofficial opposition leader.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Now projecting power is part of the big strategy here
- 5:22Speaker 2: of the US and Israel. It's a don't mess with
- 5:25Speaker 2: US power. And the aim here isn't really to top
- 5:29Speaker 2: of the Iranian Islamic regime that has ruled the run
- 5:32Speaker 2: since ninety seventy nine through fear and violence, killing up
- 5:35Speaker 2: to thirty six thousand freedom protesters in just the past
- 5:40Speaker 2: two months.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Nor as Trump promised, the.
- 5:43Speaker 2: New democratic Iranian government is that will create the conditions
- 5:47Speaker 2: for Iranians to get one. But it says, well, the
- 5:49Speaker 2: rest is up to them.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Now.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Democracy would of course be nice, but if there's chaos
- 5:55Speaker 2: and the streets people versus what's left of the Revolutionary
- 5:58Speaker 2: Guard court, it could be a blow bath. Here is
- 6:02Speaker 2: what the US really wants, just to destroy Iran. It's
- 6:07Speaker 2: a threat to the US and it's Arab allies, and
- 6:09Speaker 2: to terrify whoever takes over into playing ball and into
- 6:13Speaker 2: leaving America's the dominant power in the Middle East unchallenged.
- 6:17Speaker 2: What's more, that will break your UN's close ties to
- 6:21Speaker 2: China and Russia, who are America's far more dangerous threats.
- 6:26Speaker 2: For Israel, the prize is even bigger destroying Iranian power.
- 6:31Speaker 2: It's going to mean destroying the greatest threat to Israel's existence,
- 6:36Speaker 2: an Islamic terrorist state which says death to Israel and
- 6:41Speaker 2: has worked on nuclear weapons to destroy it, A state
- 6:44Speaker 2: which also funded the Hamas terrorist group in Israel's south
- 6:47Speaker 2: from the giant Hebela terriss army in Lebanon to its north.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Israel's already virtually destroyed him US and decapitated Hisbela. With
- 6:56Speaker 2: Iran also destroyed its military power and a funder terrorists,
- 7:01Speaker 2: Israel will be safer than it has ever been since
- 7:04Speaker 2: its creation. That said, what's left of Hesbelo has now
- 7:09Speaker 2: fired rockets as Israel in support of Iran, and Israel
- 7:13Speaker 2: has hit back at Hisbela targets in Lebanon. That's society issue,
- 7:17Speaker 2: the big picture I've given you, and that is why
- 7:21Speaker 2: you now get an unholy alliance opposing this war, including dictators,
- 7:28Speaker 2: enemies of America, enemies of Israel, hard left activists, Islamists,
- 7:34Speaker 2: the Greens, and other freedom haters communists. China has criticized
- 7:38Speaker 2: the attack, so as Vladimir Putins Russia. So in Australia yesterday,
- 7:43Speaker 2: as professional protester and Marxist Josh Lee's and his bunch
- 7:47Speaker 2: of anti Israel protesters. The Greens, of course, have been
- 7:51Speaker 2: a disgrace again, calling this part of Israel's endless war,
- 7:57Speaker 2: even though the US has taken the lead here and
- 7:59Speaker 2: demanding the world end their bombing. But in Iran, we
- 8:04Speaker 2: saw Iranian women dancing for joy in the streets that
- 8:09Speaker 2: this hated regime was under attack, saw schoolboys thanking Donald
- 8:13Speaker 2: Trump for bombing regime targets. Saw people letting off fireworks
- 8:17Speaker 2: as celebration. Men pulled down a statue of the dead
- 8:20Speaker 2: Aia Dolla, and women laughed at every blast. So, yes,
- 8:48Speaker 2: war is ugly, and innocent people will be killed. Things
- 8:52Speaker 2: could yet go very badly wrong, and there is no
- 8:57Speaker 2: guarantee that Iran will get democracy after this. But I've
- 9:01Speaker 2: never in years seen a war like this where people
- 9:05Speaker 2: in the country being attacked are cheering the bombs. The
- 9:09Speaker 2: issue is freedom, freedom from tyranny and fear, and the
- 9:14Speaker 2: news from the battlefield so far is good. The wonder
- 9:18Speaker 2: freedom's enemies are weeping. To discuss this, I'm joined by
- 9:26Speaker 2: a Bolt Report regular and a man who has been
- 9:28Speaker 2: consulted on these war plans. General Jack Keen is a
- 9:33Speaker 2: former Vice chief of Staff for the United States Army
- 9:36Speaker 2: and a four star general is now chairman of the
- 9:38Speaker 2: Institute for the Study of War. General Keen, thank you
- 9:42Speaker 2: so much for your time. Thanks for fitting us in
- 9:44Speaker 2: in a very busy week for you. You told us
- 9:48Speaker 2: more than a month ago that this attack was coming
- 9:52Speaker 2: after less than forty eight hours.
- 9:54Speaker 1: What has been achieved? Is it more than you expected?
- 10:00Speaker 5: Well, I'm very familiar with the plans. I've seen the
- 10:05Speaker 5: IDF plans and I'm very familiar with the US plans
- 10:09Speaker 5: in terms of what the objectives military objectives are here,
- 10:13Speaker 5: and I can report to you and our audience that
- 10:18Speaker 5: we are exceeding expectations of a couple of things.
- 10:22Speaker 1: One is.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Being able to decapitate as many leaders as we did
- 10:28Speaker 5: based on exquisite intelligence. As has been reported. We were
- 10:33Speaker 5: able to take advantage of an opportunity that arose quite
- 10:37Speaker 5: suddenly over the weekend, and that was a key meeting
- 10:40Speaker 5: that many of the leaders were going to have during
- 10:43Speaker 5: the daytime, and we moved up the timing of the
- 10:46Speaker 5: operation to be frank The operation was planned to go
- 10:49Speaker 5: at night, and this was Shabbat Saturday, obviously in Israel,
- 10:55Speaker 5: which is as we know, is a holy day for them,
- 10:59Speaker 5: and as part of Ramadan obviously, and that exceeded expectations.
- 11:04Speaker 5: In having that opportunity, we knew we could get to
- 11:08Speaker 5: them for sure. So forty eight leaders decapitated to include
- 11:13Speaker 5: the Ayahtola did exceed our expectations. And then what is
- 11:18Speaker 5: happening here is because we've been able to hit with
- 11:21Speaker 5: massive air strikes over two thousand air strikes in a
- 11:27Speaker 5: twenty four hour period. That is really quite staggering even
- 11:32Speaker 5: for the United States with the might of its air power,
- 11:35Speaker 5: and this is IDF and US military. We were able
- 11:41Speaker 5: to deal a decisive blow very early on to the
- 11:46Speaker 5: ballistic missile short and medium range missiles that they have,
- 11:49Speaker 5: which is the thing that concerns Israel in the United
- 11:52Speaker 5: States in terms of attacking collectively our bases and our people,
- 11:58Speaker 5: and secondly being able to go after the drone inventory.
- 12:01Speaker 5: So we believe that there's been a week in response
- 12:05Speaker 5: from the regime. Initially because Intel told us that the
- 12:10Speaker 5: regime was going to as soon as they were hit.
- 12:12Speaker 5: They learned the lessons from the Twelve Day War, they
- 12:15Speaker 5: fully intended to go all out against US bases, the
- 12:19Speaker 5: Israelis and also the Gulf states in the region. From
- 12:22Speaker 5: day one, they were not able to do that, and
- 12:25Speaker 5: we think two reasons, hitting the chain of command at
- 12:29Speaker 5: the top, but also disrupting through cyber attacks and taking
- 12:33Speaker 5: down kinetically some of their ability to communicate, disrupted a
- 12:38Speaker 5: very centralized chain of command that they enjoy there, and secondly,
- 12:43Speaker 5: going after those missiles and drones very early on. So
- 12:47Speaker 5: what we're getting back in terms of retaliation, While they
- 12:50Speaker 5: obviously are retaliating and they've killed Israelis and they've killed
- 12:54Speaker 5: Americans and they wounded both, we are getting less than
- 12:58Speaker 5: what we expected and that is very good news. Plus
- 13:01Speaker 5: we're systematically we have taken down their navy. They are
- 13:05Speaker 5: not going to be able to disrupt anything in the
- 13:07Speaker 5: Persian Gulf, to be sure. And we are systematically andrew
- 13:12Speaker 5: taking down everything that sustains this regime. I mean the legislature,
- 13:17Speaker 5: a National Security Council, the agencies that support the political
- 13:21Speaker 5: side of governance, and then they are IRGC, military forces
- 13:27Speaker 5: and security forces, BASM, militia at the police, all that
- 13:31Speaker 5: propt this regime up and able to sustain it. We
- 13:35Speaker 5: have systematically taking this apart deliberately, not just the leaders
- 13:40Speaker 5: at the top. We don't want their ability to recover
- 13:43Speaker 5: from this whatsoever. That is our intent here, and then
- 13:47Speaker 5: take the arsenal of weapons that they have completely away
- 13:52Speaker 5: from them, and that is what we're about. Second, the
- 13:56Speaker 5: second thing is they are two sites trying to recover
- 14:02Speaker 5: their nuclear enterprise, not the old sites, new sites. We
- 14:04Speaker 5: know where they are, and we're taking them down at that.
- 14:07Speaker 5: We're going to set them back and end this nuclear
- 14:11Speaker 5: enterprise that they are committed to once and for all all.
- 14:16Speaker 5: That is our mission here to make certain that Aaran
- 14:20Speaker 5: is no longer a threat not only to their own people,
- 14:24Speaker 5: but to the region as a destabilizing factor. We intend
- 14:29Speaker 5: to take this regime off the board in terms of
- 14:32Speaker 5: its capability. Even if there's even if some of the
- 14:37Speaker 5: nationalists or idealogues stay in power, they're not going to
- 14:41Speaker 5: have the kind of capability and threat that they presented
- 14:44Speaker 5: to the region. And obviously, the second goal which we
- 14:47Speaker 5: are about is setting the conditions so that the regime
- 14:52Speaker 5: as we know it does collapse. And we suspect, based
- 14:56Speaker 5: on some intel that we're getting back through our Central
- 14:59Speaker 5: Intel Agence Agency and through the Macade, that they're beginning
- 15:04Speaker 5: to splinter and divisiveness is taking hold. It's not surprising.
- 15:08Speaker 5: When you take away that many leaders people start to question,
- 15:11Speaker 5: do I really want to be a part of it?
- 15:13Speaker 2: General Ken, you say, you've seen the plans, you know
- 15:16Speaker 2: what the goal is. I always thought, you know, people
- 15:19Speaker 2: are talking about regime change for ideally for Iranians, that
- 15:22Speaker 2: would be great, But it strikes me that Israel and
- 15:25Speaker 2: the US don't need to have that to achieve where
- 15:28Speaker 2: they really want. Israel more security from attack than they've
- 15:30Speaker 2: had since the country was created, the US boosting's power
- 15:34Speaker 2: over the whole Middle East, plus the decapitating of Russian
- 15:37Speaker 2: and Chinese ally and possibly diverting diverting oil from China.
- 15:42Speaker 1: All this is great.
- 15:44Speaker 2: But when you've seen these plans, you know what's happened.
- 15:49Speaker 2: You know the first day and a half, what is
- 15:51Speaker 2: going to happen? What is the next goal on the ground.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Yeah, you're absolutely right, I mean, are our major objective
- 16:01Speaker 5: here is to take this threat off the table as
- 16:05Speaker 5: it has existed since nineteen eighty And you know, for
- 16:10Speaker 5: our audience, because we have people in our country, not
- 16:14Speaker 5: a lot certainly, but the political opposition, and we have
- 16:19Speaker 5: problems with some of our European friends, they say, well,
- 16:22Speaker 5: what's the basis for this, I mean the Americans, do
- 16:26Speaker 5: you have a legal basis for actually attacking Iran? Just
- 16:30Speaker 5: so the audience on the stands. They began killing US
- 16:33Speaker 5: Americans in nineteen eighty three, they killed two hundred and
- 16:37Speaker 5: forty one Marines in the barracks that they blew up.
- 16:41Speaker 5: First vehicle suicide bomber ever used an effort like that.
- 16:46Speaker 5: They blew up the Lebanon US Lebanon Embassy, the US
- 16:50Speaker 5: Kuwait embassy they blew up. In the nineties, they blew
- 16:53Speaker 5: up our barracks in Saudi Arabia, and we're talking about
- 16:57Speaker 5: hundreds of people right now being killed. And then in
- 17:00Speaker 5: Iraq using advanced IEDs that they're scientists and engineers created
- 17:06Speaker 5: so would penetrate all of our tanks and fighting vehicles,
- 17:09Speaker 5: on all of our armored vehicles. The official number six
- 17:12Speaker 5: hundred dead. The last commander that was there, four star
- 17:16Speaker 5: General Lloyd Austin, who became Secretary of Defense, used to
- 17:18Speaker 5: work for me. He said, Jack, the number is really
- 17:22Speaker 5: closer to two thousand. We have every right to do
- 17:26Speaker 5: what we're doing. Prior to October seventh, the Iranian backed
- 17:32Speaker 5: militias attacked US bases in the region in Iraq and
- 17:36Speaker 5: Syria one hundred and seventy five times after October to seventh.
- 17:41Speaker 5: They did it one hundred and twenty five times in
- 17:44Speaker 5: all of these incidents that I've just mentioned about killing
- 17:47Speaker 5: Americans that involved three presidents, two of them Republicans, one
- 17:52Speaker 5: of them Democrats. Not a single one of them ever retaliated.
- 17:58Speaker 5: If we get a positive government out of this in
- 18:01Speaker 5: terms of regime change, right right, that's icing on the cake.
- 18:07Speaker 5: But this is a national security threat to the United
- 18:10Speaker 5: States and in the region that's been destabilized for almost
- 18:13Speaker 5: fifty years. We are taking it off the table. That
- 18:17Speaker 5: is the number one objective.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Well, General Keen, I'd go further than that. Iran, the
- 18:25Speaker 2: way it's been lashing out at many of its Muslim
- 18:28Speaker 2: neighbors with drones and rockets. You've got several dead already.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Can you imagine what a regime like that would have
- 18:38Speaker 2: done had it got a nuclear bomb, The way it's
- 18:40Speaker 2: flinging weapons around willy nilly. Now, it's interesting here in
- 18:44Speaker 2: general Iran's Foreign minister is blaming rogue military or revolutionary
- 18:48Speaker 2: guard called units for doing this like distancing what remains
- 18:52Speaker 2: of the regime in Tehran from this lashing out suggests
- 18:57Speaker 2: to me that already there's some maneuvering ready, there's some splits.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Up the top of it. What to do next? What
- 19:03Speaker 1: does all that tell you?
- 19:06Speaker 5: Well, let me mention about the Golf States. The good
- 19:11Speaker 5: news is here. Attacking the Golf States has backfired on
- 19:15Speaker 5: the Iranians and they have come together. And certainly, I've
- 19:21Speaker 5: always been frustrated with him because privately they support everything
- 19:25Speaker 5: we're doing and what the Israelis have been doing everything
- 19:29Speaker 5: from October to seventh, privately publicly not quite the same.
- 19:34Speaker 5: And I wish they would stop that kind of nonsense
- 19:37Speaker 5: and stand up for their principles and support the security
- 19:40Speaker 5: that needs to be in the region. Here's the good news, though,
- 19:43Speaker 5: four of those nations are going to respond offensively against Iran.
- 19:47Speaker 5: One already is I can't reveal those names because they
- 19:50Speaker 5: don't want to reveal, but one has already attacked and
- 19:54Speaker 5: three others are going to participate in that. So this
- 19:56Speaker 5: is backfiring on Runnians, and they have have a limited
- 20:00Speaker 5: amount of missiles. And these countries that are being attack
- 20:04Speaker 5: the Gulf States, they have very good defensive systems. Most
- 20:07Speaker 5: of them are hours that they've been purchasing for years,
- 20:11Speaker 5: so they're in pretty good shape in defensive capability, and
- 20:14Speaker 5: now four of them are going to contribute to the offense,
- 20:16Speaker 5: and that is all very good. This IRGC we're going
- 20:21Speaker 5: to strip that unit away. It is not going to
- 20:23Speaker 5: exist in any shape or form where it continues to
- 20:28Speaker 5: be a threat in the region and also to their
- 20:31Speaker 5: own people. We're stripping away to BASM militia and all
- 20:34Speaker 5: the repression forces that are used against the people. That
- 20:38Speaker 5: is why this campaign from the outset has been a
- 20:42Speaker 5: minimum of two to three weeks. The President today said
- 20:45Speaker 5: it may take as long as four and I know
- 20:49Speaker 5: where he is because I spoke to him this morning
- 20:51Speaker 5: and he's in this for as long as it takes.
- 20:54Speaker 5: This operation is conditions based, so our already understands that
- 20:59Speaker 5: we have objectives that we want to achieve against the
- 21:02Speaker 5: Iranian regime and against all of its capabilities. Those are
- 21:06Speaker 5: defined military objectives. We are setting the conditions to achieve them.
- 21:11Speaker 5: If it takes longer than what we expect, then we're
- 21:15Speaker 5: going to do that until we achieve them. If we
- 21:18Speaker 5: can do it in less time, because the regime starts
- 21:21Speaker 5: to collapse and people are starting to surrender and capitulate.
- 21:24Speaker 5: We will certainly accept that reality. But as of now,
- 21:28Speaker 5: we're looking at something in the neighborhood of every single
- 21:32Speaker 5: day pounding these people for two to three weeks. That
- 21:36Speaker 5: is the plan that's on the books.
- 21:41Speaker 2: General keen Man, thank you for that brilliant insight into
- 21:45Speaker 2: what's really going on.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I really appreciate that.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Fingers crossed that it works out as well as it
- 21:51Speaker 2: has for the first couple of days. Let's hope that
- 21:54Speaker 2: it continues that way. Thank you so much for your time. Yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 2: great talking to Andrew after the break, the ABC sick
- 22:03Speaker 2: coverage of the Iran war and an Ironian protest. There's
- 22:06Speaker 2: a message for Penny Wong and the Greens one they
- 22:09Speaker 2: won't like. The ABC's coverage of this war has been
- 22:17Speaker 2: at despicable at times. It goes beyond one ABC presenter
- 22:21Speaker 2: after another demand who know if this war is legal? Now,
- 22:24Speaker 2: that's the big point, almost the only point in the
- 22:27Speaker 2: toppling of the world's biggest sponsor of terrorism. But something
- 22:31Speaker 2: else is the ABC's prominent America's correspondent, John Lyons, his
- 22:37Speaker 2: peddling anti Israel conspiracy theories, Israeli Jews dragged the US
- 22:42Speaker 2: into this war for the Jews, Israeli Jews. If we
- 22:44Speaker 2: dictated Donald Trump's speech declaring it ordered this because Iran
- 22:49Speaker 2: was a.
- 22:49Speaker 6: Threat, that's Israel's agenda. That's Israel's talking points, not the
- 22:54Speaker 6: United States. That speech could have been written and delivered
- 22:58Speaker 6: by Benjaminett and Yahoo. This is being driven by Israel.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Those wicked is Already Jews seemed to be everywhere lines
- 23:06Speaker 2: even hints that they dictated this statement by our prime
- 23:09Speaker 2: minister supporting the attack.
- 23:11Speaker 6: That first sentence, Australia stands with the brave people of
- 23:14Speaker 6: Iran in their struggle against oppression. To me, that is
- 23:19Speaker 6: political propaganda. If they're being accurate, If the Prime Minister
- 23:23Speaker 6: of Australia is telling the truth, it should say Australia
- 23:27Speaker 6: stands with Israel and the US in their new war
- 23:30Speaker 6: on Iran. So that is absolute, in my assessment, political propaganda.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Blame those Israeli Jews.
- 23:39Speaker 6: Again, Australia puts out a statement like this and doesn't
- 23:43Speaker 6: even say we support the war. I think the Australian
- 23:47Speaker 6: public are entitled to say who's writing all this stuff?
- 23:51Speaker 6: I think it's been driven by Israel to change the
- 23:54Speaker 6: regime in Iran?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Why are we all taxpayers forced to subsidize the ABC
- 24:02Speaker 2: and this sick anti Israel conspiracy theorizing bone overrated ABC mediocrity,
- 24:07Speaker 2: offering zero evidence for his wild claims. But to Penny
- 24:12Speaker 2: Wong has promised the Foreign Minister has also been anti
- 24:15Speaker 2: Israel for a long time, so it must have killed
- 24:17Speaker 2: her to have to join the Prime Minister to back
- 24:19Speaker 2: this attack on Iran.
- 24:22Speaker 1: But the strain is showing. It seems one really does
- 24:26Speaker 1: think it's all a terrible thing, because here she is
- 24:28Speaker 1: imagining Iranians need sympathy.
- 24:31Speaker 7: I want to say some make some comments directed at
- 24:35Speaker 7: the Australian Iranian community at this time.
- 24:38Speaker 6: My thoughts are with you.
- 24:40Speaker 5: We recognize this is a distressing time for so many.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Distressing time.
- 24:45Speaker 2: In fact, the Iranians I saw in our streets yesterday
- 24:48Speaker 2: seem absolutely delighted by this war, and unlike pro Palestinian
- 24:53Speaker 2: Greens protesters, they also flew the flags of other countries
- 24:56Speaker 2: which are friends of freedom Australia and Israel. Joining me
- 25:01Speaker 2: is Iranian freedom activist and sociologists. Doctor Samaya Kennie, Samaria Cannie,
- 25:08Speaker 2: thank you so much for your time. Is what is
- 25:10Speaker 2: the reaction of Iranians here been to the death of
- 25:14Speaker 2: the Aetolia and the US attacks.
- 25:19Speaker 7: Joy, this belief that it finally happened, but mainly joy
- 25:25Speaker 7: and they're ecstatic. We were on the streets yesterday in Melbourne, Sydney,
- 25:31Speaker 7: Brisbane here just celebrating the death of the dictator, the
- 25:36Speaker 7: Hitler of our time basically, and this is not just
- 25:40Speaker 7: in Australia. Around the world, including in Iran, people are
- 25:46Speaker 7: chanting and celebrating. They even went to the sadness of
- 25:50Speaker 7: this is that those who lost their lives for freedom
- 25:53Speaker 7: of Iran are not here to see this moment. But
- 25:58Speaker 7: what people did us to go to the houses of
- 26:01Speaker 7: those who lost their family members in during the protests
- 26:05Speaker 7: a month ago and celebrated in front of their houses joyfully.
- 26:10Speaker 7: So it has been the same in Australia. We went
- 26:13Speaker 7: to the streets and danced and just popped up in
- 26:16Speaker 7: Champagnes and enjoyed this moment. But we're also careful that
- 26:22Speaker 7: this is not the end of it. This is just
- 26:24Speaker 7: the beginning.
- 26:26Speaker 2: What do you say then, to the anti Israeli, anti
- 26:29Speaker 2: American protests here and the Greens and all that this
- 26:33Speaker 2: is terrible, The war should stop.
- 26:34Speaker 1: It's ridiculous, it's a legal war. It's terrible.
- 26:41Speaker 7: Yes, So as you've seen, we have American and Israeli
- 26:47Speaker 7: flags in most of our protests to not just appreciate
- 26:51Speaker 7: what the leaders of the countries are doing, what President
- 26:55Speaker 7: Donald Trump is doing, because we know he's risking a
- 26:59Speaker 7: lot doing this, but he is also this will be
- 27:02Speaker 7: his legacy. People will thank him for this in five
- 27:06Speaker 7: years times, in ten years time. But here's the message
- 27:11Speaker 7: from Iranians to the Green, the woke, the left, the
- 27:16Speaker 7: Democrats that we needed this. This is a humanitarian aid.
- 27:21Speaker 7: This is a rescue mission for Iranians who've been in
- 27:24Speaker 7: war with the regime for forty seven years. So Iranians
- 27:29Speaker 7: asked for this. We would just love them to spare
- 27:33Speaker 7: us from their anti anti war movements and anti war rhetoric.
- 27:39Speaker 7: This is not a war on Iran or Iranians. If
- 27:43Speaker 7: it is a war, it is a war with a
- 27:45Speaker 7: dictatorship with a murderous regime that has taken ninety two
- 27:50Speaker 7: millions Iranians hostage and also has terrorized the region, region
- 27:56Speaker 7: and also other countries including Australia. We had confirmed, we
- 28:03Speaker 7: had confirmation that two attacks were carried out by this
- 28:08Speaker 7: regime on Australian soil, so helping Iranians to finally get
- 28:15Speaker 7: rid of this regime, this murderous regime. Is not a war,
- 28:18Speaker 7: it's a humanitarian aid, it's a rescue mission.
- 28:22Speaker 2: But while every Iranian I've seen in the streets have
- 28:27Speaker 2: been celebrating this, as you say, and I've seen it
- 28:32Speaker 2: in Europe, seen in America, I've seen in Australia. That said,
- 28:35Speaker 2: I have also seen at least four Islamic centers in
- 28:39Speaker 2: Australia holding ceremonies, mourning ceremonies for the Ayatola, a company
- 28:49Speaker 2: saying you know, it's a martyr and this is terrible.
- 28:53Speaker 2: There are some Iranians here that are unhappy with this out.
- 28:58Speaker 7: They unhappy with the murderer of the Iatola, or unhappy
- 29:06Speaker 7: with the fact that some Islamists are mourning for the Ayatola,
- 29:12Speaker 7: for the hitler of our time. Well, as Prime Minister
- 29:17Speaker 7: mentioned yesterday, no one is mourning for this hitler, for
- 29:20Speaker 7: this murderer. And if there are people who are doing that,
- 29:25Speaker 7: they're still the brainwashed and those who've been the victims
- 29:32Speaker 7: of the soft war carried out by the regime, spending
- 29:35Speaker 7: our oil money on brainwashing people to believe that they
- 29:39Speaker 7: are the saviors of the world, the saviors of the
- 29:44Speaker 7: margin marginalized, while they are killing their own people. Forty
- 29:49Speaker 7: three thousand Iranians were killed on two nights for protesting
- 29:53Speaker 7: for freedom, barehandedly, just protesting the regime, and the regime
- 29:58Speaker 7: just easily killed forty thous and three in two nights.
- 30:03Speaker 7: That kind of a regime is not there to save anyone,
- 30:07Speaker 7: but to murder.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Now, Donald Trump is calling an iranianscenout, rise and topple
- 30:12Speaker 2: the regime. But I just wonder how they can do that.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I mean, we've seen in the last two months. If
- 30:18Speaker 2: they try the be massacred, I don't know what. What
- 30:23Speaker 2: do you think is going to happen?
- 30:29Speaker 7: I believe based on what we heard from President Trump's
- 30:33Speaker 7: message on Saturday, he pointed out that this regime will
- 30:39Speaker 7: be gone soon, but he also asked people of Iran
- 30:42Speaker 7: to stay at home, not to go outside because it
- 30:46Speaker 7: is dangerous outside, and wait for the moment to come
- 30:50Speaker 7: out and take the take your country back. The government
- 30:54Speaker 7: is yours. So I'm hoping that message still is the same,
- 30:59Speaker 7: because he has mentioned anything. There hasn't been a new
- 31:03Speaker 7: message out to ask people to come up now and
- 31:07Speaker 7: also as a Crown Prince, Razapahlavi mentioned again following President Trump,
- 31:12Speaker 7: the people will have to stay at home, stay safe
- 31:15Speaker 7: for now until the message comes from him as well
- 31:19Speaker 7: to to just take to the streets and take the government,
- 31:23Speaker 7: take the country back.
- 31:25Speaker 1: But I'm not sure how the people are going to
- 31:27Speaker 1: take that back. I suspect.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Well, look, the man that now seems most in charge
- 31:35Speaker 2: of those who are left seems to be Ali Larry Johnny.
- 31:38Speaker 2: He's the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. Pretty
- 31:42Speaker 2: hardline the kind of guy it seems to me. I mean,
- 31:44Speaker 2: doesn't it worry you that he probably has the power
- 31:48Speaker 2: to suppress any revolt even now and keep this what's
- 31:54Speaker 2: left of the regime still in power.
- 31:57Speaker 7: I do have an analogy here.
- 32:00Speaker 6: This This is a can.
- 32:04Speaker 7: Tumor, the cancerous tumor being Alikhmenae. He's been surgically taken out.
- 32:11Speaker 7: Now this is the chemo treatment. At this stage, we
- 32:16Speaker 7: are hoping that the war goes on so long that
- 32:19Speaker 7: the whole that all the cells are taken out of
- 32:22Speaker 7: the country, and one of the biggest cells is yes,
- 32:26Speaker 7: Ali Lair Johnny as well as Mastaba Alikamene's son. We
- 32:30Speaker 7: are worried about those two. Yes, they're capable of murdering people.
- 32:34Speaker 7: What we're hoping is that those are also the next
- 32:38Speaker 7: targets of the United States and Israel. By taking down
- 32:43Speaker 7: as many heads as possible, as many officials as possible,
- 32:47Speaker 7: we're hoping the base crumbles and those who have been
- 32:52Speaker 7: supporting this regime start to realize that they cannot no
- 32:57Speaker 7: longer continue killing people because now they their heads are gone.
- 33:01Speaker 7: So we're hoping the vulnerability of the situation helps the
- 33:06Speaker 7: people to come back outside and take the country back.
- 33:11Speaker 7: And until we know that Crown Prince Zapahlavi is back
- 33:17Speaker 7: in Iran on the soil of Iran, we are not
- 33:22Speaker 7: sure yet if this regime has fallen. So that's the
- 33:27Speaker 7: moment we can start genuinely celebrate the fall of a
- 33:32Speaker 7: murderous regime after forty seven years, and we're hoping we
- 33:36Speaker 7: can get to that point by the help of President
- 33:39Speaker 7: Donald Trump as well as Israel. The chemo treatment needs
- 33:45Speaker 7: to go on until all the cells are.
- 33:48Speaker 6: Gone and killed.
- 33:51Speaker 1: So Maya Khannie thank you so much, indeed for your time.
- 33:56Speaker 7: Thank you so much for having me again.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Break how we're going to pay for this war and
- 34:02Speaker 2: who is going to win it? Now, this war is
- 34:09Speaker 2: already affecting us. More than a thousand Australias have been
- 34:12Speaker 2: stranded overseas after the airport's in the bar and Katara
- 34:15Speaker 2: force shut, and all prices have already gone up ten percent.
- 34:18Speaker 2: And that's going to work out the price for risers
- 34:20Speaker 2: of ten cents a liter in a week or so,
- 34:23Speaker 2: with more expected. Still, the world is going to change
- 34:26Speaker 2: dramatically when this is over. And joining me again at
- 34:29Speaker 2: last is the country's sop foreign affairs riter Greg Sheridan
- 34:32Speaker 2: will again be a regular on this show all through
- 34:35Speaker 2: the year. Greg, great to see you again. First of all,
- 34:39Speaker 2: the Prime Minister, our prime minister is statement about this
- 34:44Speaker 2: war said he backed the America's attack on Iran's nuclear program.
- 34:48Speaker 2: He did not say he backed the assassination of Aroun's
- 34:50Speaker 2: The Preme Leader did not say he backed Israel's bombing
- 34:54Speaker 2: its involvement.
- 34:55Speaker 8: Your response, Andrew, it is indeed great to be back
- 35:00Speaker 8: with you after a little absence, and my life is
- 35:03Speaker 8: enriched as a result. Look, I think the Albanezi government
- 35:08Speaker 8: has done pretty well with that statement and its associated statements. Look,
- 35:11Speaker 8: it's not it's not a perfect statement, but it's not
- 35:15Speaker 8: perhaps the statement I would have written. But we don't
- 35:17Speaker 8: want to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
- 35:19Speaker 8: When you see how bad Antonio Guterres's response is and
- 35:24Speaker 8: how bad the response of many left of center governments
- 35:27Speaker 8: around the world is. Look, the bottom line is, when
- 35:31Speaker 8: faced with a war between the US and Israel on
- 35:33Speaker 8: one hand and I ran on the other, the Albanza
- 35:36Speaker 8: government worked out which side was the right side. Now
- 35:39Speaker 8: it's not absolutely rocket science, but still, you know, good
- 35:43Speaker 8: on them forgetting that much right.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well, the right side the US side, we don't
- 35:50Speaker 2: know if it's on israel side that's left missing. A
- 35:54Speaker 2: run is an ally or an asset of China and Russia.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It sells thirteen percent of the oil that China gets
- 36:02Speaker 2: both ship It is also sent, as you know, Russian
- 36:05Speaker 2: drones for its war and Ukraine have been highly effective
- 36:08Speaker 2: in killing Ukrainian civilians. What signal does this war now
- 36:13Speaker 2: in Iran send those two countries.
- 36:17Speaker 8: That's a terrific question, and it's very complex and mixed.
- 36:21Speaker 8: On the one hand, it shows America is willing to act.
- 36:24Speaker 8: We're really willing to take tough and dangerous action that
- 36:28Speaker 8: always sobers dictators. You know, the dictators laughed at Jimmy Carter.
- 36:33Speaker 8: But the Iranians released the American hostages the minute Ronald
- 36:36Speaker 8: Reagan came into offers because they were scared of Ronald Reagan.
- 36:40Speaker 8: And it's good that they're scared of Donald Trump. Having
- 36:43Speaker 8: said that, if this works out badly, you know, they
- 36:48Speaker 8: may come to the view that America is weakened. And
- 36:50Speaker 8: then this practical point that Barnaby Joyce of all people made,
- 36:56Speaker 8: the West, including even America, does not produce anywhere near
- 37:00Speaker 8: enough armaments. China hasn't had to fire a single weapon
- 37:06Speaker 8: in anger anywhere, and America is using up a huge
- 37:11Speaker 8: portion of its arsenal. Now the answer is Western nations,
- 37:14Speaker 8: the United States, Western Europe and Australia have to get
- 37:17Speaker 8: cracking at producing a lot more munitions. But even the
- 37:21Speaker 8: US is not yet doing this, and it will take
- 37:24Speaker 8: them time to replenish this arsenal. But overall it's a
- 37:28Speaker 8: big net loss for China and Russia.
- 37:33Speaker 2: And the call for Iranians to rise up and take
- 37:38Speaker 2: charge top of the regime, I.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Don't see it happen in greg.
- 37:43Speaker 8: No well, Andrew, I want everyone to know that I
- 37:47Speaker 8: wrote tomorrow's column before I saw your splendid editorial at
- 37:50Speaker 8: the top of this show, because I agree with you
- 37:53Speaker 8: absolutely that I don't think Donald Trump really believes he
- 37:57Speaker 8: can bring democracy to Iran. What he wants is a
- 38:02Speaker 8: dictator I mean, democracy will be wonderful, of course, but
- 38:04Speaker 8: what he really wants is a dictatorship which doesn't murder
- 38:08Speaker 8: its own people in huge numbers, doesn't seek nuclear weapons,
- 38:12Speaker 8: and stops sponsoring terrorism all through the Middle East and
- 38:16Speaker 8: all around the world. Now, those are actually pretty reasonable
- 38:19Speaker 8: demands for an American administration to make of an Iranian government. Now,
- 38:26Speaker 8: even securing that much will be very, very, very difficult.
- 38:31Speaker 8: I do think calling on people to rise up imposes
- 38:36Speaker 8: some kind of moral burden on you, because you are
- 38:39Speaker 8: calling on them to spend their lives basically. On the
- 38:42Speaker 8: other hand, the Iranian people are so courageous they haven't
- 38:46Speaker 8: needed the cause of an American president to get them
- 38:49Speaker 8: out into the streets. They plainly that. You know, the
- 38:52Speaker 8: international left has a lot of sympathy for the Iranian government,
- 38:55Speaker 8: but one group of people who hate and despise the
- 38:58Speaker 8: Iranian government are the Iranian people. Who pay for it
- 39:02Speaker 8: with their own lives and their blood in the streets
- 39:05Speaker 8: of Iran.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Yep.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Well, we must point out I don't think that Iran
- 39:11Speaker 2: has had a fully full democracy ever in its history.
- 39:18Speaker 2: We'll complete with all the trappings of freedom that we expect,
- 39:21Speaker 2: like a free press. It's always been limited in that regard.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Greg Sheridan, thank you so much for your time. Really appreciated.
- 39:28Speaker 2: I'm sorry it's truncated because of the material we had
- 39:31Speaker 2: at the top. After the break, the Liberals changed leader,
- 39:35Speaker 2: but it's Pauling Hansen who's laughing. The Liberals have a
- 39:43Speaker 2: new leader, but their hell continues. Two poles today, the
- 39:47Speaker 2: red Bridge Pole has a Labor vote falling two points,
- 39:50Speaker 2: all of it going to one nation now up to
- 39:52Speaker 2: twenty eight percent, way out of the Coalition stuck on
- 39:55Speaker 2: a disastrous nineteen percent. A news poll just under line
- 40:00Speaker 2: that in the polls at least one nation is now
- 40:02Speaker 2: Labour's main opposition.
- 40:05Speaker 1: This pole has.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Labour vote for into the same level thirty two percent.
- 40:09Speaker 2: One nations steady on twenty seven and the Coalition are
- 40:12Speaker 2: largely but still just twenty percent. Any which way you
- 40:15Speaker 2: cut it, the Coalition isn't cutting through. I think it's
- 40:18Speaker 2: performing much better, more aggressive, but as leadership hopefully. Andrew
- 40:23Speaker 2: Hasey today asked the government the sharpest question, had the
- 40:26Speaker 2: Prime Minister jumping.
- 40:28Speaker 9: Given the war in the Middle East and the suspension
- 40:30Speaker 9: of air travel following the air strikes on Iran? Has
- 40:34Speaker 9: the government halted its plan to bring home ISO sympathizers
- 40:37Speaker 9: and will the government now prioritize bringing home law abiding
- 40:40Speaker 9: Australian citizens at risk from the conflict?
- 40:43Speaker 7: Prime Minister has the pall nicely the premise of the
- 40:47Speaker 7: question is wrong.
- 40:50Speaker 2: Joining me and Michael Kroger for I'm a president of
- 40:52Speaker 2: the Victorian Liberals and Steve Conroy, former Lavy senator, cabinet
- 40:56Speaker 2: minister and back again Steve, what did these poles tell
- 40:59Speaker 2: you about where the Liberals are and why your labor
- 41:03Speaker 2: is because it is losing ground as well.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Well.
- 41:07Speaker 10: Look, I mean, firstly, I think that the new front
- 41:09Speaker 10: bench of Angus Taylor is a lot sharper and it's
- 41:13Speaker 10: going to be sharper in a way that really is
- 41:15Speaker 10: pointed on national security and pointed on economic debate. So
- 41:19Speaker 10: I think that's a big plus for the opposition.
- 41:24Speaker 1: But there were two.
- 41:25Speaker 10: Poles that came out today both almost identical in terms
- 41:28Speaker 10: of primaries, and then you've got to make some calculations
- 41:31Speaker 10: about two pps. But the interesting part that it was
- 41:35Speaker 10: always perplexed me is where of one nation getting their
- 41:38Speaker 10: votes from in a geographic sense, and the Red Ridge
- 41:43Speaker 10: Pole broke down where the one nation vote is concentrated
- 41:49Speaker 10: and it looks at basically a metropolitan city vote versus
- 41:56Speaker 10: a regional and rural vote. And what was the most
- 42:00Speaker 10: interesting part of that breakdown was that Labor is still
- 42:04Speaker 10: winning strongly in all of the metropolitan area I think
- 42:08Speaker 10: was a sixty forty whereas one nation we're winning fifty
- 42:13Speaker 10: three forty seven in those rural and regional So what
- 42:17Speaker 10: I think you're seeing is, yes, Labor are losing some votes,
- 42:20Speaker 10: but not in places that will necessarily cost its seats.
- 42:25Speaker 10: If we're only on twenty six percent in farest Thing
- 42:29Speaker 10: and suddenly we're on twenty percent in Farah, it doesn't
- 42:32Speaker 10: make any difference to the result or to Labour's parliamentary major.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Very good point. Well, that raises this question, Michael. This
- 42:43Speaker 2: raises this question for me. Are we going to a
- 42:46Speaker 2: future where the Liberals have to focus on winning seats
- 42:50Speaker 2: in the city from Labor and one nation. It will
- 42:54Speaker 2: have to win the seats in the country and that
- 42:57Speaker 2: will be the new coalition, not the Liberals and the Nationals.
- 43:03Speaker 1: No, I don't think to enter.
- 43:04Speaker 11: I think the coalition, particularly Liberal Party, has to understand
- 43:08Speaker 11: something which over the last four or five years they've
- 43:10Speaker 11: failed to understand, which is the dramatic change in thinking
- 43:15Speaker 11: of a lot of people in Western countries. And that's
- 43:18Speaker 11: this that the working middle class have lost confidence and
- 43:24Speaker 11: trust in the institutions. They don't trust government, they don't
- 43:29Speaker 11: trust big business. That's a worldwide phenomenon. Look what's happened
- 43:33Speaker 11: to last for off years. They think they were misled
- 43:35Speaker 11: over COVID. The governments were meant to provide housing. They
- 43:39Speaker 11: were told that mess immigration was a wonderful thing for
- 43:42Speaker 11: our country. They were told that debt was nothing to
- 43:45Speaker 11: worry about. They were told that power prices would be
- 43:48Speaker 11: dramatically reduced. They seem to be losing on every They
- 43:53Speaker 11: told that globalization was a wonderful thing, nothing to worry about.
- 43:57Speaker 11: With COVID, you've got to stay at home, lockdowns, blah blah.
- 44:00Speaker 11: We said, a lot of businesses break. In other words,
- 44:02Speaker 11: there's a whole lot of these issues, Andrew, where the
- 44:04Speaker 11: public think our leaders have either completely betrayed us or
- 44:08Speaker 11: they have no idea what they're doing, and we have
- 44:10Speaker 11: to take things into our own hands now, which is
- 44:13Speaker 11: why the one nation vote has exploded. It's because people
- 44:16Speaker 11: don't trust the elites. They don't trust the universities, they
- 44:19Speaker 11: don't trust the ABC, the arts establishment, they don't trust
- 44:23Speaker 11: big business. And that's what the Liberal Party has to understand.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Andrew.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't know that the way it's formulated
- 44:32Speaker 2: that it can win back that trust. If it is
- 44:35Speaker 2: as dar as you say, I think it's going to
- 44:38Speaker 2: absolutely take a she lacking before there's any hope, if
- 44:42Speaker 2: there's ever going to be hoped.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Well, it's more than a challenge. I think it's a
- 44:46Speaker 1: death sentence. Stephen. I think before I've run out of time,
- 44:50Speaker 1: we've got to ask you this. Go ahead, go Steve now.
- 44:54Speaker 10: Said, the three key tests come up in the next
- 44:57Speaker 10: few weeks. You've got the South Australian state election, You've
- 45:00Speaker 10: got Farah and you've got Nepean the state seat in Victoria.
- 45:06Speaker 1: All three of those are.
- 45:07Speaker 10: Going to give you a real look at whether one
- 45:09Speaker 10: nation is a real phenomenon. And that those people who
- 45:13Speaker 10: deserted the Liberal Party are stuck now as in stuck
- 45:17Speaker 10: to the One Nation, or they're just expressing their frustration
- 45:21Speaker 10: and anger of the poor performance of the Dutton opposition
- 45:26Speaker 10: and initially the Lee opposition. So I think the three
- 45:29Speaker 10: really important tests about one nation versus Liberal nationals coming up.
- 45:38Speaker 2: I totally agree with you, and I think it'll be
- 45:39Speaker 2: the biggest test for one nation above far beyond the
- 45:42Speaker 2: other part is if it flops, the air could go
- 45:45Speaker 2: out of that balloon. Swiftly Michael the Prime Minister backing
- 45:51Speaker 2: the US attack in Iran but saying nothing about Israel's attack,
- 45:54Speaker 2: Penny Wong saying this is a difficult day for Iranians
- 45:58Speaker 2: here when they're actually celebrated in the street urging the
- 46:01Speaker 2: escalation as well.
- 46:03Speaker 1: What'd you make of all that?
- 46:06Speaker 11: Yeah, Well, as Greg Sheridan said, it's better than nothing.
- 46:08Speaker 11: But not to mention Israel in the Prime Minister's statement
- 46:12Speaker 11: was terrible. I mean terrible. I mean, hello, it's an
- 46:15Speaker 11: American Israeli attack on Iran. The bottom line here is
- 46:19Speaker 11: is Andrew, is that Trump is actually trying to end
- 46:20Speaker 11: a war. He's not starting a war. He's trying to
- 46:23Speaker 11: end a war is Iran. I have been at war
- 46:27Speaker 11: with Israel for four decades. That's what's happening here. Ever
- 46:31Speaker 11: since the Ayatolla Khameni came to power in nineteen seventy nine,
- 46:35Speaker 11: this war has been going against the Jewish state and
- 46:38Speaker 11: other countries in the West through proxies and through agents, etc.
- 46:44Speaker 11: That's what he's trying to do here. And look, it's
- 46:46Speaker 11: better than nothing that Albanzey said that it's better than
- 46:49Speaker 11: the British and the French. But boy, if we're if
- 46:53Speaker 11: in our country, we've still got people at mosques who
- 46:57Speaker 11: are celebrating the martyrdom of the laid toler Camani. Boy,
- 47:02Speaker 11: we've got some big problems in Australia.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Andrew Steve Conroy, I've got a minute left.
- 47:10Speaker 10: Yeah, Look, I particularly on that last one on aggress Michael.
- 47:12Speaker 10: I think it's absolutely sick that people are celebrating the
- 47:17Speaker 10: death of someone who's an identified supporter of worldwide terrorism,
- 47:20Speaker 10: who recently directly interfered with Australia's civil society by encouraging
- 47:27Speaker 10: and paying people to commun atrocities against Jewish synagogues and
- 47:33Speaker 10: cars and restaurants and that sort of thing. That was
- 47:37Speaker 10: going on, and to celebrate the passing really does show
- 47:42Speaker 10: that there is an inherent, g hardiest mentality that we
- 47:47Speaker 10: must confront. We cannot look the other way when people
- 47:52Speaker 10: are promoting support for that sort of worldwide terrorist network.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but what does confront mean, Michael? I mean, what
- 48:05Speaker 1: do you do. They're going to celebrate it. What do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you do?
- 48:10Speaker 11: Well, you have to keep clamping down in Islamic extremism.
- 48:14Speaker 1: That's what you have to do.
- 48:16Speaker 11: You have to do what the Liberal Party said in
- 48:18Speaker 11: that draft policy, which was we don't want people coming
- 48:21Speaker 11: from Islamis terror zones coming into this country. We need
- 48:24Speaker 11: to send home the people from Gaza. We need to
- 48:27Speaker 11: stop the isis brides coming to this country. I mean,
- 48:30Speaker 11: you can't have the Islamisation of Australia.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Okay, that's what.
- 48:34Speaker 11: You've got to stop. And were otherwise otherwise will go
- 48:39Speaker 11: the way of Britain or France Andrew, you know, there are.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Very his things them.
- 48:47Speaker 2: None of them will say they are extremists, right, they
- 48:50Speaker 2: won't say that, and they wouldn't have been flagged as extremists.
- 48:53Speaker 1: That is the issue.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Michael Krogs, even Conroy, thank you so much. Up next,
- 48:57Speaker 2: Sherry Markson couldnt
