- 0:00I'm sitting here looking at this thing and I'm like trying to figure out like what am I seeing?
- 0:06And so I remember trying to call down to my friend and wake her up and see her like she was seeing this too.
- 0:13I couldn't get her to wake up.
- 0:15Oh, which I feel like was kind of weird.
- 0:18Probably thankfully for her, I don't know. I don't know what would have happened.
- 0:22Yeah.
- 0:23If she did wake up.
- 0:24That's interesting.
- 0:26Oh, I love it.
- 0:33[CLAP] And scene.
- 0:34Oh, ho, ho.
- 0:36I'm out of Christmas clothes as we previously discussed.
- 0:46So I'm on to just whiskey, winter weather.
- 0:49Yeah, just winter weather.
- 0:51Yeah, it's winter vibes.
- 0:57Not everyone celebrates Christmas.
- 1:00It's fine.
- 1:01We don't have to be Christmasy every day in December.
- 1:04Right.
- 1:05Some people celebrate whiskey weather.
- 1:07Yeah.
- 1:08Anyway, I did not run out of Christmas clothes.
- 1:10As you can see, I have two Christmas sweaters.
- 1:12Yeah.
- 1:13One by me, one on me.
- 1:14I guess I should have asked to borrow one.
- 1:16Yeah.
- 1:17I do have a Santa hat.
- 1:18I guess I could have put that on.
- 1:19Hi, Caitlyn.
- 1:20Hi, Cassie.
- 1:21Hi, creepy people.
- 1:22Hello.
- 1:23We just kind of started talking.
- 1:25No, we did.
- 1:26That's now we're starting.
- 1:27Okay.
- 1:28And here we are.
- 1:29Cheers.
- 1:30And then we'll start.
- 1:31Okay.
- 1:32We're real.
- 1:33We're real.
- 1:34Happy holidays.
- 1:35If you didn't know who we were, we're PNW Haunts and Homicides, where me and Caitlyn chat about true crime,
- 1:39the paranormal and all things spooky in the Pacific Northwest.
- 1:44That felt very pointed.
- 1:48I feel like she wants me to say something.
- 1:50It's PNW.
- 1:51If you're nasty.
- 1:52And you're nasty.
- 1:53And we know you are.
- 1:56And we also do a terror reading at the end of every episode for a little deeper insight into what we're talking about that day.
- 2:03And have a little fun.
- 2:04Have a little palette cleanser.
- 2:06So we have some business before we start our business.
- 2:10Do we?
- 2:11We do actually.
- 2:13And this has kind of been old one.
- 2:14I don't know if you guys remember Lori from the Portland Ghost Tours episode.
- 2:20That was our Halloween episodes.
- 2:22If you haven't watched it yet or listened to it, go back.
- 2:25It's really fun.
- 2:27Yeah.
- 2:28Lori's a great storyteller and she gets so into it that she sometimes mistakes her words, which we do too.
- 2:35We say wrong words all the time.
- 2:37Don't even realize it, especially me.
- 2:39It's happened once or twice.
- 2:42So when she watched the episode, I got this text from Lori and she said, oh my God, the mirror from the Benson, the giant Benson.
- 2:52Yeah, the Benson.
- 2:53Yeah.
- 2:54Is from France and she mistakenly said Germany, which I didn't even.
- 2:58Oh, and she said Austria.
- 3:00Maybe.
- 3:01But she says it's from France.
- 3:02I can't believe I made that mistake.
- 3:04The building is the French Empire exterior.
- 3:10Yes.
- 3:11And the building was designed by a Portland architect that designed a mini iconic Portland buildings.
- 3:16I love it.
- 3:17So anyway, she wanted me to make that little correction for you guys, but got your storytelling was just so good that I don't think anyone would notice.
- 3:25And if you do and you're that nitpicky that someone just makes a little mistake, then.
- 3:30Yeah, whatever.
- 3:31Get out of here.
- 3:32Get over yourself.
- 3:34And I will say too, whether it was, you know, a mirror that came from France, Germany or Austria, it's like.
- 3:43Well, that's like saying something is from like Washington state.
- 3:47Oops, it's actually from Oregon.
- 3:49Right.
- 3:50It's like that's like our next door neighbor.
- 3:52It's, you know, not to say that it's like all the same or anything like that.
- 3:56I don't know geography.
- 3:57It could be anywhere.
- 3:58I don't know.
- 3:59No, no, I mean, those are all like neighboring countries in Europe.
- 4:04So I feel like there's influences from each of them.
- 4:09So.
- 4:10And there's been either there's like a plaque on it too.
- 4:14So if you go and actually visit it, you can read the plaque and you can, you know, do a little fact checking on everyone.
- 4:20Everyone you talk to if they give you a fact, which this did happen to me recently.
- 4:25And I repeated the fact on the show.
- 4:29And then I was like, wait, I'm going to Google that and I did.
- 4:31And it was totally wrong.
- 4:32So I cut it out.
- 4:34Really?
- 4:35Yeah.
- 4:36Oh, we also have some Patreon shout outs.
- 4:39We do.
- 4:40Yeah, we have a few new Patreon members.
- 4:42Hi.
- 4:43Hello.
- 4:44Hello.
- 4:45First, we have Monica and Jan who subscribed for a year at the dollar tier.
- 4:51A whole year.
- 4:54A whole last year.
- 4:55A whole year of a year.
- 4:56A whole year of a year.
- 4:58Sorry about it.
- 4:59Yeah.
- 5:00A whole year of crazy ass.
- 5:03Here is a.
- 5:04Don't subscribe.
- 5:06Yeah.
- 5:07Didn't we have someone who recently like upgraded to.
- 5:10I created.
- 5:11Yes.
- 5:12Amy, right?
- 5:13Yes.
- 5:14I'm positive.
- 5:15It was Amy.
- 5:16Amy, if it wasn't you, then you don't even know what we're talking about.
- 5:18So it could be anybody that we're talking about.
- 5:21No, I think you're right because Amy also reached out because we sent a newsletter because
- 5:28we do that sometimes.
- 5:31Probably not enough to justify what we pay for the service that like helps us do that.
- 5:36But you would like to help us with newsletters.
- 5:38Please contact us.
- 5:39Yeah.
- 5:40Yeah.
- 5:41And we did say like if there are people that are interested in, you know, becoming Facebook
- 5:47admins or, you know, just different things that like they want to be involved in reach out
- 5:54to us.
- 5:55And I was like, I actually, I didn't think that we got any responses right away.
- 6:01And then I went back and looked like a week later and I was like, Oh my god, I feel so bad.
- 6:06I don't know how I didn't see this, but people did respond.
- 6:09Oh, yeah.
- 6:10We had people that.
- 6:12We have someone that's setting up a discord for us.
- 6:15Yes.
- 6:16That's so exciting.
- 6:17Because I have no clue.
- 6:20I went on there a couple of times for some other stuff and I was like, this, I don't understand.
- 6:26This is too much for me.
- 6:27I can't do this.
- 6:29I feel like I get it in theory, but also it's just one of those things where we've talked
- 6:34about this so many times.
- 6:35It's just, it's so time consuming to do like initial setup and, yeah.
- 6:40And you know, the other thing is we can't be in all places at the same time.
- 6:45So we're not Santa.
- 6:46You guys.
- 6:47Yeah.
- 6:48Hardly.
- 6:49We're Ho Ho Ho's, but we are not Santa.
- 6:51Ho Ho Ho Ho.
- 6:52So.
- 6:53And our next feature on Shoutout is very exciting.
- 6:58Just particularly because YouTube is kind of new-ish for us, but we had somebody that actually
- 7:05found us through YouTube.
- 7:07Hi.
- 7:08Hi.
- 7:09Hi.
- 7:10And is now subscribing at the, what is she think and I love it?
- 7:17I love it.
- 7:18And I love it at $20 for a month.
- 7:21Think with two C's.
- 7:22Think with two C's.
- 7:23Because there's two C's here.
- 7:25Yeah.
- 7:26That's correct.
- 7:27I feel like I just did like the dog head tilt.
- 7:30Oh.
- 7:31Thank you, Lando.
- 7:33Thank you.
- 7:34I hope you enjoy all of the shenanigans.
- 7:38Yeah.
- 7:39That happens on Patreon.
- 7:40Oh.
- 7:41And I also saw when I was on Patreon that you can gift people Patreon memberships.
- 7:46Yes.
- 7:47So if you need to get someone a Christmas present, get them a Patreon membership to our, what's
- 7:54it called?
- 7:55Our page.
- 7:56I don't know.
- 7:57Yeah.
- 7:58I actually, I did send that out to our, um, all of our newsletter subscribers.
- 8:02Nice.
- 8:03Yeah.
- 8:04I'm sure, and I'm sure like if you listen to literally any other podcast on God's green
- 8:09earth, everybody has been talking about it because this is something that both creators
- 8:14and people that like support them have been asking for four years.
- 8:21Yeah.
- 8:22Like since before we ever started our own podcast.
- 8:26Yeah.
- 8:27I could see why it's a good, like, a little gift.
- 8:30Like a unique type of gift that's not just like, oh, here's a gift card or something.
- 8:34Like if you find out someone's favorite podcast.
- 8:37Yeah.
- 8:38I feel like that's something where, you know, people talk about different, I mean, whether
- 8:42it's a podcast or a different type of creator that like, oh, I really like this.
- 8:47That's such a thoughtful, like thing to be able to say.
- 8:50Oh, now you like get their, you know, whatever their bonus content is.
- 8:54I think it's cool.
- 8:55I think so too.
- 8:56Yeah.
- 8:57You are interested in gifting a Patreon membership to someone or I don't know, I think you could
- 9:05probably technically use it for yourself.
- 9:07Creepy person in your life that might be you.
- 9:10Yeah.
- 9:11I'm creepy as a cult coming from inside the house.
- 9:14It is.
- 9:15It almost always is.
- 9:18I will go ahead and get the link over to our show notes so that we can let people know
- 9:23how to use that, how to do it.
- 9:26Do the things.
- 9:27Do it.
- 9:28Do it.
- 9:29Be like Lando.
- 9:30Yeah.
- 9:31Yeah.
- 9:32And Monica and Jan and everyone else who's on our Patreon, we love you.
- 9:37Thank you so much.
- 9:38I don't know if we say it enough, but thank you so much.
- 9:41I know.
- 9:43It's really awesome.
- 9:45This is hard and we need your help.
- 9:47So thank you.
- 9:48I know.
- 9:49And you know what?
- 9:50I will try to stay on track and like actually do our show after this, but this is our
- 9:56show.
- 9:57But I do think that now we're kind of getting to a number of Patreons and people are sort
- 10:04of getting.
- 10:07Now people are finding us on YouTube and there's a lot of things that you can do to support
- 10:11creators through like the other platforms.
- 10:14But I think it's probably time to get our heads together and think about some Patreon
- 10:21goals and some different like rewards and things that we can do.
- 10:26Like when we reach certain numbers of members, I have some ideas.
- 10:33We've been done a giveaway and I wish to give away.
- 10:36While I was thinking that for sure.
- 10:38Yeah.
- 10:39Stay tuned.
- 10:40Always, stay tuned always.
- 10:43Just do it.
- 10:44Remember when we ask people, just play it constantly even if you're not listening to it.
- 10:48But well, speaking of Patreon and gifts and things that we send people for free because we love
- 10:56you and you're giving us money so you send you stuff for free.
- 11:01We had a story from one of my friends, Jessica, who is a Patreon member who told me something
- 11:08that happened with the spell jars.
- 11:11Oh, stop it!
- 11:13Yeah.
- 11:14Our spell jars!?
- 11:15So if you guys didn't know, if you're super new, we sometimes will send, we'll put together
- 11:20a little spell jars with a certain purpose.
- 11:23Like we've done a good luck one.
- 11:25A, what was the other one, self-love one?
- 11:28Yeah.
- 11:29I think those are the two we've done.
- 11:30Yeah, those are the two we've done so far.
- 11:32And then we send them to you guys just, you know, see how a little something, something
- 11:36fun and witchy and cool.
- 11:38Yeah.
- 11:39And this was one of the good luck spell jars.
- 11:43Okay.
- 11:44And I will read you.
- 11:45She sent me this little story in a text message.
- 11:48I did have to redact some information.
- 11:50Okay.
- 11:51That's fair.
- 11:52Just because, well, you'll see.
- 11:55I'm so excited.
- 11:56Yeah.
- 11:57Because I don't, I know I told you this at the time.
- 11:59I don't know if you remember.
- 12:01We had someone that was not a member of the Patreon yet, but has since become one, what
- 12:09up?
- 12:10Hey, I think, I think you'll know who I'm talking about.
- 12:13Okay.
- 12:14Hi, Sam.
- 12:15Hi, Sam.
- 12:16Hi, Sam.
- 12:17Um, he actually reached out to us when we started talking about the spell jars that we sent
- 12:22out and he said, can I buy one?
- 12:25Oh, yeah.
- 12:26He's like, I want to become a member of the Patreon, but I just, you know, I'm not ready yet.
- 12:30But like if it's a one time thing, can I do that?
- 12:34And we were like, I guess so.
- 12:37Like, I don't see why not.
- 12:39Yeah.
- 12:40So.
- 12:41Yeah.
- 12:42If you want a spell jar, I'll hit us up.
- 12:43Oh, I was thinking about starting a netsy shop.
- 12:45Yeah.
- 12:46I don't know how that works.
- 12:47So that seems like a lot of work.
- 12:48It really does.
- 12:49We'll figure it out.
- 12:50Yeah.
- 12:51Okay.
- 12:52So Jessica's driving in her car and she says, I had a close encounter due to my poor judgment
- 12:56of distance.
- 12:57It's happened to me a lot.
- 12:58Yeah.
- 12:59And I thought for sure the other car was going to slam into my rear.
- 13:03That's what she said.
- 13:06And somehow the car and I were safe.
- 13:09So this has happened to me before because I have like my little bat protector, my bat
- 13:14being in my car.
- 13:15That is just like my, I say it's my protector.
- 13:18Yeah.
- 13:19This has happened to me so many times where I think, like I'm for sure getting hit.
- 13:22Like it's in my car.
- 13:24I don't know.
- 13:25And then it doesn't hit me.
- 13:26Don't know how it happens.
- 13:28But we both have something that hangs from our rear view mirror.
- 13:34That is like our little like kind of protector thing.
- 13:37Maybe that should be our next Patreon gift.
- 13:40I was seeing like a protection jar.
- 13:42Yeah.
- 13:43I don't know if you necessarily want that hanging from your mirror.
- 13:47Maybe.
- 13:48I just feel like sometimes go ask and like if it swings and I don't know.
- 13:51Yeah.
- 13:52We're in a noodle on it.
- 13:54Stay tuned.
- 13:55Stay tuned.
- 13:56I'm going to stop saying that I swear.
- 13:59So she goes on to say my instant thought was that it must have been the good luck spell
- 14:03jar.
- 14:04Like well, dirt.
- 14:05So that's your first thought like if that's the first thing you think of then yes, that
- 14:10is it.
- 14:11Like that's your intuition talking to you, right?
- 14:13Yeah.
- 14:14I think you know, your first instinct is usually correct.
- 14:16Yeah.
- 14:17Yeah.
- 14:18And then so she had me make her another one.
- 14:20Oh.
- 14:21Because she was like, well, then I want to like keep one.
- 14:24I want one with me all the time.
- 14:25There's one in the car and one with me all the time.
- 14:27I love it.
- 14:28I love it.
- 14:29So she says, when you gave me the second one, I put it in the car's glove compartment
- 14:35and the other one is in my backpack.
- 14:37So it's always with me.
- 14:38Okay.
- 14:39So the back windshield got smashed at a trail head.
- 14:44Well, they were parked in the I think in the parking lot.
- 14:47Okay.
- 14:48Yeah.
- 14:49Like a trail head parking lot.
- 14:50So like that's not good.
- 14:52Obviously, that's not very good luck.
- 14:55But it could have been a lot worse because there were wallets in the redacted because I
- 15:01don't want you guys to know where they hide their wallet.
- 15:03I knew it.
- 15:04But they were left unfound and they only stole a cooler full of beer, a bike pump and some
- 15:11used deodorant.
- 15:12So like they don't really get like the beer sucks.
- 15:15You got to get your window fixed.
- 15:17But that's some of the insurance is for them assuming.
- 15:19Yeah.
- 15:20I mean, as someone who has been through the same thing, it's not great.
- 15:26But you can have that fixed for like, you know, depending on your car and where you live
- 15:32and all that.
- 15:33And maybe a couple hundred bucks tops.
- 15:35Yeah.
- 15:36Not great.
- 15:37Well, that would suck if they also found like the wallets and anything else you might have
- 15:41had in your car that was worth anything.
- 15:43Exactly.
- 15:44I think it did work.
- 15:46Uh huh.
- 15:47And it was just a little guy.
- 15:48So like, I don't know maybe I need to make her like a mason jar.
- 15:51Seriously.
- 15:52She needs like the big girl size.
- 15:55But you know, it's not all about size.
- 15:57It's about intention.
- 15:58It's true.
- 15:59You know, what you do with it.
- 16:02Coming for me, that's funny.
- 16:04You should not be ocean or something about that.
- 16:08I was like, cushion for the push and I was like, wait, that's not even that's not even what
- 16:13that means at all.
- 16:14That's not at all related.
- 16:16That's what I know.
- 16:18I got that cushion.
- 16:20But if anyone has any other stories with their spell jars, if you have some good luck
- 16:25with it, if you have more self love because of it, I love myself love spell jar.
- 16:30It's my favorite.
- 16:32It's by my bed and I just look at it.
- 16:34You have one too.
- 16:35I have like a teeny teeny winy one.
- 16:39Yeah.
- 16:40You have one of the bigger girl sizes.
- 16:42Yeah.
- 16:43And then I wrote, maybe we should do a straight up protections bell jar next time.
- 16:48That's so crazy.
- 16:49Because we're always telling people to be safe too.
- 16:51Yeah.
- 16:52So I think protection is probably coming.
- 16:54I have so much black salt in preparation for this.
- 16:58Do you?
- 16:59So much.
- 17:00I love it because you know, I love nothing more than a nice fire and we've been doing
- 17:04them nightly.
- 17:05Yeah.
- 17:06Nightly and ever so rightly.
- 17:08Yeah, I think it's fun to just like take the ashes and just mishmash minds usually like
- 17:15incense ashes.
- 17:16Oh, yeah.
- 17:17And then I add glitter to it because it's more fun with glitter.
- 17:21Adorable.
- 17:22Chris is like, can you do this outside?
- 17:27My husband would be like, this seems like an outdoor project.
- 17:30But it's glitter inside of black salt.
- 17:32So it's fine.
- 17:33Yeah.
- 17:34Yeah.
- 17:35It's not as glittery, you know?
- 17:36Yeah.
- 17:37Okay.
- 17:38I'll let you explain that to him.
- 17:41Well, should we get into some some holly jolliness?
- 17:45Why do I feel like is that a euphemism?
- 17:49No.
- 17:50Yeah.
- 17:51Also, I'm going to talk about a different song.
- 17:52So that was kind of stupid.
- 17:54So like the song, it's the most wonderful time of the year says it's time for scary ghost
- 18:01stories.
- 18:02What?
- 18:03No, scary ghost stories and something else in it.
- 18:08I only know the scary ghost story part.
- 18:12It doesn't know.
- 18:14It's in the song.
- 18:15Okay.
- 18:16But I don't think they mean it like.
- 18:18Oh, no, they mean it.
- 18:21They mean it.
- 18:22Because I'm like, but wait, why are we trying to scare people during the hollyous jollyous
- 18:27season?
- 18:28Yeah.
- 18:29I feel like it begs the question.
- 18:31Well, I'll tell you why.
- 18:33Okay.
- 18:34Because I did a little research on Wax.
- 18:35So it's very curious.
- 18:37So thought that during the Victorian era, which is from 1837 to 1901.
- 18:44And I googled that when Queen Victoria ruled Great Britain and Ireland, which I'm not going
- 18:50to know, I've heard the term like Victorian era before.
- 18:54I did not relate it to like that was the person literally ruling.
- 18:58Cassie.
- 18:59This bitch is iconic.
- 19:02She's the reason people wear white wedding dresses.
- 19:06Really?
- 19:07Yeah.
- 19:08Wasn't really a thing before her.
- 19:09Oh, well, thanks for nothing.
- 19:14I mean, people just loved it so much.
- 19:16It just like she is like the original influencer.
- 19:20That's so cool.
- 19:21Yeah.
- 19:22That's so funny.
- 19:23You said that because I just watched the Martha Stewart documentary and she is like the
- 19:26original influencer.
- 19:28Yes.
- 19:29I haven't finished it yet, but I was literally thinking about it as I tied our Christmasy
- 19:34bow on the wine bottle because I was like, show it.
- 19:38So it's like such a Martha Stewart.
- 19:40It's such a Martha Stewart moment.
- 19:42What really is?
- 19:43I mean, it's not probably the most Martha Stewart effort with the bow.
- 19:48I'm sure she would ridicule you for that.
- 19:50The thing I learned about Martha is a bitch.
- 19:53It's like fine for like dudes to be rude and stuff, but it's like automatically a woman
- 19:59is a bitch.
- 20:00But like to me, it's not okay to be rude and like demeaning and demoralizing to people.
- 20:06Yeah.
- 20:07So like I have respect for her, but she's not the nice person.
- 20:10No, I mean, she really is just like objectively like kind of not a nice person.
- 20:15Yeah.
- 20:16And yeah, I do think we definitely give more of a pass to a man for sure, you know?
- 20:23So it's like it's frustrating on like that side of the token, but also like, okay, just
- 20:29don't be a dick.
- 20:30Yeah.
- 20:31But it's hard because she was like raised the way she was raised.
- 20:34It was like not great.
- 20:36And yeah.
- 20:37So anyway, lots of struggles, but yeah, but she is who she is.
- 20:40Everybody got problems.
- 20:41I don't think she deserved what she got.
- 20:44Some people got 99 of them in a bitch ain't one.
- 20:47You know?
- 20:48Yeah.
- 20:49Just saying.
- 20:50Anyway, watch the documentary.
- 20:51It was good.
- 20:52Yeah.
- 20:53I want to finish it.
- 20:54You should finish it.
- 20:55You have to finish it.
- 20:56I have to know what happens.
- 20:58Obviously.
- 20:59Okay.
- 21:00So Victoria, she was the queen.
- 21:03She was the it girl.
- 21:05She was literally it.
- 21:07I wrote history.
- 21:08Am I right?
- 21:09Her story.
- 21:10Her story.
- 21:11Her story.
- 21:12Any who's all as Caitlin was saying.
- 21:16During this time, there wasn't electricity, I guess.
- 21:19I mean, certainly not widespread.
- 21:22That's what the research told me.
- 21:24Yeah.
- 21:25So during the winter, people were obviously going to be hanging around the fireplace.
- 21:29It's dark.
- 21:31It's a naturally spooky environment that kind of lends well to telling scary stories.
- 21:36Ooh.
- 21:37And what, you know, get a cozy up to your lover.
- 21:41Whatever and get spooky.
- 21:44A lot of people were also not able to read at this point in time.
- 21:47So these are mostly like oral stories and local stories too, that people were telling.
- 21:53Sure.
- 21:54Yeah.
- 21:55That makes sense.
- 21:56As time went on, more and more people were learning to read and things like the steam-powered
- 22:00printing press were allowing for cheaper, faster printing.
- 22:04Also Christmas was starting to be more widely celebrated in general.
- 22:09So people decided to put their oral traditions into print for Christmas.
- 22:13So people could read.
- 22:14So people could read.
- 22:15What a bunch of nerds.
- 22:17But they're reading scary stories.
- 22:19So that makes them like unnerdy immediately.
- 22:22Like cool nerds.
- 22:23Cool nerds, yeah.
- 22:25Which to be honest, all nerds are cool.
- 22:26Yeah.
- 22:27Who are we getting?
- 22:28Nerds are cool.
- 22:29We love you guys, because we are you.
- 22:31We are you.
- 22:32We are you.
- 22:33You ever heard of one, uh, Charles Dickens?
- 22:36Charles.
- 22:37Charles.
- 22:38Charlie's gonna bust in here, thinking we're calling him.
- 22:41Well, he's laying on his bed right now.
- 22:42Oh, he's in here?
- 22:43Oh, yeah.
- 22:44Charlie.
- 22:45He looks like, uh, like an English author right now, because he has on his little kind of,
- 22:51uh, it's like a plaid jacket.
- 22:54He kind of looks like he's, um, about to make tenure.
- 22:58You should take a picture of him so we can insert it.
- 23:00Okay.
- 23:01So in case you didn't know who Charles, this, this Charles Dickens guy is, he wrote, and
- 23:07I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying the most popular holiday season ghost story,
- 23:13a Christmas Carol.
- 23:14Okay.
- 23:15Yeah.
- 23:16That's probably fair.
- 23:17Where Ebeneez is Scrooge.
- 23:19Ebeneez.
- 23:20Ebeneez.
- 23:21Ebeneez.
- 23:22Get on your knees.
- 23:23Yeah.
- 23:24Anyways, where Ebeneez or Scrooge gets visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve.
- 23:32And obviously it's not strictly a spooky tale.
- 23:35It does incorporate the heartfelt life lessons and warm fuzzies.
- 23:39I grab my boobs and I say, yeah, my, they are warm.
- 23:43They are fuzzy.
- 23:45Mine are fuzzy.
- 23:46Oh, well, you got a fuzzy.
- 23:48Yeah.
- 23:49That makes so sweaty right now.
- 23:50Are you, are you too warm?
- 23:52I'm like moist.
- 23:53Oh.
- 23:54Yeah, because that's like a polyester blend.
- 23:56So I bet you're real.
- 23:58Yeah.
- 23:59It's holding all of your juices in.
- 24:00I'm just trying to sweat out the toxins, you guys.
- 24:03Yeah.
- 24:04So much toxins.
- 24:05I got to be pure for Santa, okay?
- 24:08Like the driven snow.
- 24:12Yeah, that's me.
- 24:14Yeah.
- 24:15Okay, so warm fuzzies, which is how the US largely likes their holiday stories.
- 24:22True.
- 24:23Like super hallmark.
- 24:24I just watched the funniest fucking movie.
- 24:28It's on Netflix.
- 24:29I don't know if it's hallmark or not, but it's called Hot Frosty.
- 24:32Hot.
- 24:33Oh boy.
- 24:35It's kind of like Frosty, the snowman, where a very sexy snowman comes to life.
- 24:42I don't remember that being part of it.
- 24:45It's, yeah, well, it's a new version of Frosty, the snowman.
- 24:48Okay.
- 24:49Hot Frosty, it's like trash holiday, but it's like so good, you know?
- 24:53Yeah, very kids.
- 24:54Very kids.
- 24:55And is that the one?
- 24:58There was one that, you know, that girl that was in mean girls.
- 25:01Like in all the hallmark movies.
- 25:03Regina.
- 25:04Oh, she's got the brown hair.
- 25:07I forget which one she plays.
- 25:09Hmm.
- 25:10Okay.
- 25:11I might have to investigate this.
- 25:12I do not partake in a lot of like the hallmark Christmas movies.
- 25:19It's like historically not been one of like my guilty pleasures.
- 25:23Yeah.
- 25:24I generally don't either if it's on Netflix though.
- 25:27Yeah.
- 25:28I'll probably watch it.
- 25:29Yeah.
- 25:30It just depends.
- 25:31Yeah.
- 25:31So however believe that it should be a Christmas tradition for my family, hopefully
- 25:37they're watching and listening to watch the Shark Nito where Santa is involved.
- 25:45Yeah.
- 25:46I've never seen any of those movies.
- 25:47Yeah.
- 25:48I hadn't either.
- 25:50But also in that movie, one of the main characters is named Cody.
- 25:55And I was going to say does your brother make you watch this during?
- 25:59No.
- 26:00I don't really care for this.
- 26:03Okay.
- 26:04So if you're not familiar with the lore, at some point we just asked my brother is, I don't
- 26:09think currently, but as a child, he was very like adamant that sharks were like our
- 26:14friends.
- 26:15That's the long and the short of it.
- 26:17Yeah.
- 26:18This was during lockdown and it didn't take much to entertain us at that point, but I could
- 26:24have pissed my pants laughing.
- 26:25Look at a light, you know.
- 26:27I'm going to have to watch that now.
- 26:29You have to let me know which one it is.
- 26:31So anyway, this chick was in Mean Girls.
- 26:33She is in a lot of Hallmark movies now.
- 26:35And so is Lindsay Lohan is in like these Netflix, like cheesy movies.
- 26:40Oh, I thought Hallmark.
- 26:41Okay.
- 26:42Okay.
- 26:43Like Hallmark, I don't know.
- 26:44Okay.
- 26:45It's like Hallmark-esque, but not Hallmark channel.
- 26:48There are Hallmark movies on Netflix though.
- 26:50And I can't, I don't know if who's making them.
- 26:52If it's Hallmark or Netflix, I don't know.
- 26:54But it's, you know, that type of like cheesy vibe Christmas movie.
- 26:58And Lindsay Lohan is in a few of those now.
- 27:00Oh, okay.
- 27:01Well, they showed a clip from one of the Lindsay Lohan.
- 27:03It was like a commercial inside of this movie.
- 27:07And she's, they're flipping through the channels and she's like in, in one of these movies
- 27:13on the TV in this hot, frosty movie.
- 27:15Oh, boy.
- 27:16And the girl was like, oh, she looks like someone I went to high school with and I was like,
- 27:20Mean Girl reference.
- 27:22I know her.
- 27:23Oh my God.
- 27:24It was so cute.
- 27:25But it was like so like inception.
- 27:28It was like so many different things inside this one scene.
- 27:31Yeah, a little bit of an Easter egg.
- 27:33Yeah, it was so cute.
- 27:35I love that.
- 27:36That's totally, you know, we're talking about Christmas.
- 27:38I had to tell that.
- 27:39I was going to say speaking of the birth of Christ.
- 27:41Lindsay Lohan, the resurrection.
- 27:45Yeah.
- 27:46You get, you know, anyways.
- 27:47Yes, I don't.
- 27:48I don't.
- 27:49Well, because, okay.
- 27:50So Christmas in theory is, you know, about the birth of Christ.
- 27:54Right.
- 27:55Easter is related to Easter eggs.
- 27:58I didn't even did not even put together that Easter egg.
- 28:02It says the word Easter because I'm so used to using.
- 28:06Easter egg means something totally different.
- 28:08It's like something Taylor Swiftie to me now.
- 28:10Right.
- 28:11Right.
- 28:12Or like, you know, like a streamer or a gamer term.
- 28:16It's not at all religious.
- 28:18No.
- 28:19Typically, that's so funny.
- 28:20Well, I mean, either our Easter eggs, if you think about it, like, what?
- 28:24It comes out of a bunny's butt.
- 28:26So like, what?
- 28:27I'm sorry.
- 28:28I don't know that we ever established that, but...
- 28:32The bunny poofs a metal decorated.
- 28:33Isn't that how that works?
- 28:36I think we probably need to move on, but we're going to circle back to that.
- 28:41Let's talk about the city's time.
- 28:43Okay.
- 28:44Okay.
- 28:45That's fair.
- 28:47So we talked about how the US likes their hallmark holiday type movies where it's all
- 28:51just warm, fuzzy and...
- 28:53Yeah.
- 28:54So it's just a little bit more predictable and easy.
- 28:56Imagine this.
- 28:57Well, the British had tons of different ghost stories.
- 29:01But the only one that really stuck in America was a Christmas Carol.
- 29:04Okay.
- 29:05Mainly because it was such...
- 29:07It was just such a popular story.
- 29:09Yeah.
- 29:10It was basically a staple.
- 29:11So it kind of just like, we can't stay up here as well.
- 29:15But not all of the other ghost stories.
- 29:17Just this one.
- 29:18Well, I mean, it's classic.
- 29:19It's got like a very timeless message, I think.
- 29:23Yeah.
- 29:24And I don't know.
- 29:25I didn't look into the history of Charles Dickens.
- 29:26I don't know if he was already pretty famous or not, but he became obviously a well-known
- 29:31writer.
- 29:32Yeah.
- 29:33Not sure.
- 29:34I will point in his trajectory.
- 29:36I didn't pull at that ugly Christmas sweater thread.
- 29:43So Americans weren't really interested in having the paranormal invade their sickeningly
- 29:48sweet holidays.
- 29:50Very sacri-
- 29:51And plus we already had this little holiday for ghosts called Halloween Halloween that we
- 29:57already started celebrating apparently.
- 29:59Anyone.
- 30:00So basically we did what Americans do and we kind of categorize everything and we said,
- 30:06okay, ghosts belong to Halloween and they can't be in Christmas.
- 30:10Bid, bid, bid, bid.
- 30:12Only Halloween.
- 30:13Because we like to put things in little boxes and people can't go outside the boxes.
- 30:17I think that's a very human nature thing.
- 30:20I think some cultures maybe more or less, but just go eat, put it on Americans, okay?
- 30:27Yeah.
- 30:28I mean, you're not wrong.
- 30:30I'm one of them, so I'm pooping on myself with fun.
- 30:33Wow.
- 30:34I try not to put things in boxes though.
- 30:37Yeah.
- 30:38Unless it's a dick.
- 30:39That's right.
- 30:40Classic.
- 30:41That's like a Christmas song, dick and a ball?
- 30:43It is.
- 30:44Because it's like a box.
- 30:45It's like a present.
- 30:46Yeah.
- 30:47We're so themy.
- 30:48I can't.
- 30:49Very themy.
- 30:50Speaking of like, fuck Americans, right?
- 30:53Let's change this sickeningly sweet storytelling and let's tell some fucking scary ghost stories
- 31:01for Christmas.
- 31:02All right.
- 31:03First of all, I'd like to issue a correction because I feel like maybe it's a little bit more
- 31:07fuck capitalism than Americans, but like, you know.
- 31:11Yeah, that's true.
- 31:12Everyone knows what I mean.
- 31:13I just mean I literally want to fuck everyone.
- 31:16Ooh.
- 31:17Oh.
- 31:18Oh.
- 31:19Oh.
- 31:20Oh.
- 31:21Oh.
- 31:22So my gift to all of you this year.
- 31:25Well, she said I didn't wrap it.
- 31:28But I have a scary ghost story of my own that I've never told.
- 31:32Woo.
- 31:33And this is my gift to you guys.
- 31:35I love it.
- 31:36Because you know, I don't really have ghost experiences.
- 31:39I have like one or two.
- 31:40No, because you want it too badly.
- 31:42Yeah.
- 31:43And then I had all that, you know, the sleep paralysis stuff.
- 31:46When I was little, if you haven't listened to our sleep paralysis episode, it's way back.
- 31:52But I tell kind of my spooky experiences, but they're not really like ghost stories.
- 31:57Yeah.
- 31:58I pretty much only have like one ghost story.
- 32:01And this is it.
- 32:03I'm so excited.
- 32:04I know me too.
- 32:05And I was thinking I was like, wait, I didn't tell this, right?
- 32:08I don't remember.
- 32:09If I did, just forget.
- 32:10And then I'll tell you again.
- 32:12Yeah.
- 32:13But I'm pretty sure I haven't because I was like saving it.
- 32:15Yeah, I was going to say, I feel like I'd remember this.
- 32:18Yeah.
- 32:19I think I've mentioned it once or twice too.
- 32:21Like I have a story.
- 32:22I'm like, waiting for the right time.
- 32:25The buildup.
- 32:26Okay.
- 32:27And I didn't want to do any research.
- 32:28So, you know, this is the right time.
- 32:30Yeah, there you go.
- 32:32I needed an easy, an easy A.
- 32:34Yeah.
- 32:35So I had this experience and I was pretty young, I think eight or nine.
- 32:42Okay.
- 32:43It's a great set of stories.
- 32:44Yeah.
- 32:45So since I had so much sleep paralysis as a kid, I kind of, I think I always just assumed this
- 32:51was that.
- 32:52This was just like a sleep paralysis thing.
- 32:55But it's different.
- 32:56So different from any other of the experiences I've ever had.
- 33:00Okay.
- 33:01So yeah, I was like eight or nine and I was staying with my family at a friend's.
- 33:07It was like a cabin type house.
- 33:09Like kind of in the woods, like in the woods, you know?
- 33:12Yeah.
- 33:13It was in like the city woods.
- 33:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:16Yeah.
- 33:17And me and my friend, she was like two years younger than me.
- 33:19We were sleeping in bunk beds and naturally I was on the top bunk.
- 33:23So much room for activities.
- 33:25We did so many activities.
- 33:26I don't remember any of them, but I'm sure we did so many.
- 33:29They were incredible.
- 33:30No doubt.
- 33:31Because we were always together.
- 33:32She was like my sister growing up.
- 33:34Oh, the door.
- 33:35No.
- 33:36Lovey Chrissy.
- 33:37I don't know if I ever told her about this.
- 33:40And she was in the room.
- 33:41So I can't remember.
- 33:42Yeah.
- 33:43I can't remember if I told her about it or not.
- 33:45So if she is listening, this might be new information for her.
- 33:48Like God, I tell you about everything spooky that happens to me whether or not you're in
- 33:52the room.
- 33:53Yeah.
- 33:54Now I would.
- 33:55But then because I didn't tell anyone about my sleep paralysis stuff ever.
- 33:59Yeah.
- 34:00So I just don't think I would have told her.
- 34:03I'm not really sure.
- 34:04Yeah.
- 34:05It was so long ago.
- 34:07So we were sleeping in this room.
- 34:09And I remember waking up and I think it was the middle of the night.
- 34:14Not really sure.
- 34:15There wasn't a clock.
- 34:16I was a kid who knows.
- 34:17It was dark from what it felt like.
- 34:19It felt like the middle of the night.
- 34:22But I wake up and I kind of like see this like bright orange like flickering light.
- 34:30And I think that's why I woke up and it was like coming from the window.
- 34:33So there was like a window I could see from the bunk bed.
- 34:36I think it was just I was like laying like this.
- 34:38I could see the window straight.
- 34:42And it was like flickering orange.
- 34:43So I opened my eyes.
- 34:46And this is like the first thing that's wrong because I never opened my eyes when I'm having
- 34:51sleep paralysis.
- 34:52I don't know why.
- 34:53I see things.
- 34:54I like see crazy shit.
- 34:56But it's like I can feel my eyes are closed.
- 34:58So like I still know.
- 34:59Yeah.
- 35:00I know I'm kind of sleeping.
- 35:02Yeah.
- 35:03Because I feel like most people explain.
- 35:04There's like a certain amount of like awareness of your own body.
- 35:09You like yeah, I feel like most people report that they're very aware like oh no.
- 35:15I mean this in between.
- 35:17I'm not in control of my body.
- 35:19But I'm yes.
- 35:20Yes.
- 35:21But you can't wear it.
- 35:22Some people do open their eyes and they do see stuff like.
- 35:25No.
- 35:26Like actually hallucinate.
- 35:27We've talked we if you need to go back and learn more about it.
- 35:30There is a whole episode on it.
- 35:32I think I'm good.
- 35:33But yeah, one of my things with mine is I was either I couldn't open my eyes and I was like
- 35:37half dreaming half awake or I was like fully awake, but I was just too scared to open my
- 35:43eyes.
- 35:44But this was just like waking up in the middle of the night and I see a flickering light
- 35:47and I open my eyes and then I I'm looking at the window.
- 35:52I like sit up and I again, I'm sitting up.
- 35:55So I move.
- 35:56I'm not.
- 35:57Okay.
- 35:58So you're very much awake.
- 35:59Yeah.
- 36:00And even like in a sleep paralysis dream.
- 36:02I still can't move in the dream.
- 36:04So like this is just like not I never realized it's just like completely different from any
- 36:08sleep paralysis I've ever had.
- 36:11And I'm looking at the window where the light is coming from and it looks like fire.
- 36:15Like it's like flickering and moving like that orange light.
- 36:19Like it just looks like fire.
- 36:22And there's a silhouette of a man or I feel I don't know how to describe it, but I just
- 36:29feel like it was like a younger male, like not a man.
- 36:33Okay.
- 36:34It was either like a adolescent like a teenage boy, maybe young adult.
- 36:40I don't really know why I felt like that because it was just like the silhouette, like
- 36:46a black shadow.
- 36:47Like I couldn't see the face or make out really anything else other than I could see
- 36:54like the shape of his hat.
- 36:56And it was just like he had like a square on his head.
- 37:01Like not a tall, not like a top, not like a Lincoln.
- 37:05No.
- 37:06A Lincoln, like a car.
- 37:08No, not a car on his head.
- 37:11Listen, I understood fully how little I should trust this person as soon as they were.
- 37:17Okay.
- 37:18I mean, number one, this situation is already bonks, but then they're wearing a hat.
- 37:23And I'm like, I'm out.
- 37:24I'm out.
- 37:25Okay.
- 37:26Right?
- 37:27I just, I don't, I see hat man and I didn't even know what my whole life.
- 37:31I don't trust a hat.
- 37:33Like I didn't even know about hat man then.
- 37:35You know?
- 37:36Yeah.
- 37:37Like I did.
- 37:38I was watching ghost stuff.
- 37:39I'm sure at the time, but I don't know if I knew about it.
- 37:41I think you knew about hat man though.
- 37:42And also like this hat didn't seem like any, it doesn't really seem like anything I'd
- 37:48really heard about hat man wearing.
- 37:49Usually like it's like a different type of hat I feel like.
- 37:52Okay.
- 37:53There are different stories of different hats.
- 37:55But this just wasn't, it wasn't when I really associated with hat man.
- 37:58So I don't, I still don't know.
- 38:00Obviously, don't know what happened.
- 38:02Yeah.
- 38:03Hashtag never trust a hat.
- 38:05But so when I started trying to like figure out what this hat, what like, why is he just,
- 38:11it kind of just look like a box on his head, right?
- 38:14Oh, that's so bizarre.
- 38:15It was interesting.
- 38:16So I started, I think I was listening to another episode about hat man and they mentioned
- 38:21like a civil war hat and I was like, well, what does civil war hat look like?
- 38:29And so I Google it.
- 38:31No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 38:34and there's kind of like cowboy hat type things.
- 38:39There's kind of stuff with like a bill, but there's also these like other hats called
- 38:44Kepis.
- 38:51Kind of like if you're wearing that, you can't really see the bill.
- 38:55Yeah.
- 38:56It's this hat that like, we'll post pictures obviously and like add pictures to the video,
- 39:02but it does look like kind of just like a square on your head.
- 39:06Like there's a bill, but you wouldn't be able to really see that if it's a silhouette.
- 39:11It would literally just look like a square.
- 39:13Yeah.
- 39:14And that's, I didn't really think about because I, my whole life, I've been like, well, what
- 39:21that was like a weird hat and it wasn't like a failure hat.
- 39:24It wasn't like anything I was really thinking of, but obviously I never, when you're thinking
- 39:29about that kind of thing, you're probably not like on your computer ready to Google it.
- 39:32Yeah.
- 39:33Yeah.
- 39:34Well, it's different from even just like a baseball cap.
- 39:38You know what I mean?
- 39:39It's, I don't know, it's strange.
- 39:41And it wasn't like, I was thinking like page boy hats or kind of, but they're also kind
- 39:46of like lumpy and like clop.
- 39:49This was like really like, I felt like really straight.
- 39:52Yeah.
- 39:53I don't know.
- 39:55So I feel like that was the kind of hat.
- 39:57Like I can't think of any other hat.
- 39:59And like, I'd never heard of another story that was specifically said like a Civil War type
- 40:07hat.
- 40:08Yeah.
- 40:09And I think like both sides were them.
- 40:10I don't know like which side it would have been.
- 40:13But I think that was just of the time.
- 40:15Yeah.
- 40:16But I don't think people wore like normal people didn't wear hats like this.
- 40:21Really?
- 40:23I think so.
- 40:24Like I said, I think that was just of the time.
- 40:28Okay.
- 40:29So just quick like AI overview.
- 40:34No.
- 40:35I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War.
- 40:42I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War type.
- 40:47I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War type.
- 40:51I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War type.
- 40:55I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War type.
- 40:59I think that was just like the time when I was in the Civil War type.
- 41:03It was like a military hat.
- 41:05And they did come from like I think like the Russian military or something.
- 41:10There are like taller hats that were like more formally.
- 41:14Yeah.
- 41:15Yeah.
- 41:16Yeah.
- 41:17They're kepties were like a little bit more different.
- 41:19It wasn't like that.
- 41:20So it was definitely like one of these Civil War era.
- 41:24Interesting.
- 41:25I just assumed that was like kind of the style of hats at that point in history.
- 41:31Yeah.
- 41:32Yeah, I guess not.
- 41:34So we kind of figured out I guess what kind of hat, which was like really...
- 41:38Yeah.
- 41:39I don't know.
- 41:40It was crazy to me when I actually found it.
- 41:41So I was like, oh, like that's probably what I was seeing.
- 41:44Yeah.
- 41:45It was just weird because I never really looked into it.
- 41:48So yeah, again, all I was seeing was like this black shadow silhouette couldn't make out
- 41:53anything except for it did look like the longer I looked it.
- 41:56It looked like there was fire behind him.
- 41:59It's crazy.
- 42:01Yeah.
- 42:02It was so creepy.
- 42:03He was facing me.
- 42:04It looked like he was just staring like straight in the window.
- 42:07Ooh.
- 42:08And I think it was like a...
- 42:10It was like a floor level window.
- 42:11I don't know.
- 42:12Ooh.
- 42:13I don't know how far up the window was.
- 42:16It just...
- 42:17It seemed like he could have maybe just been standing outside and like all I could see was
- 42:20like torso up, you know?
- 42:21Oh God.
- 42:22So I don't think it was like a situation where it was like floating or...
- 42:26Yeah.
- 42:27I don't know.
- 42:28That gives you a little bit of contact.
- 42:30Yeah.
- 42:31I mean, that could just be like a straight up in cell these days.
- 42:35Who knows?
- 42:36It was where the fire come from.
- 42:37I...
- 42:38There was a forest fire and an in cell.
- 42:41I don't know.
- 42:42I don't know.
- 42:43I guess it's...
- 42:44I could have been a person.
- 42:45I don't know.
- 42:46No.
- 42:47No, that doesn't sound like way.
- 42:49I was also a kid though.
- 42:51So obviously they didn't like go out and measure like how far the window was from the
- 42:55ground to like see how tall this person was.
- 42:59It would be helpful data that I understand why you didn't.
- 43:02And I'm kind of glad you'd...
- 43:04Eight or nine year old me.
- 43:06And I wish I did.
- 43:07Because that would have been a better story like me doing all this investigating after.
- 43:12Do it for science, Cassie.
- 43:14And also like wasn't it.
- 43:16It was like my friend's friend's house, you know?
- 43:18It wasn't like any place I would ever go again or have been to since this.
- 43:24And we were surrounded by trees and like forests.
- 43:29I don't think there was a neighbor that was like right that could have been like right
- 43:33there.
- 43:34Yeah.
- 43:35That I was seeing.
- 43:36That makes sense.
- 43:37And there wasn't a forest fire that you guys all just let through?
- 43:41Well, not that night.
- 43:43Okay.
- 43:44Uh, yeah, we'll talk about that in a minute.
- 43:47Oh.
- 43:48So I'm sitting here looking at this thing and I'm like trying to figure out like what
- 43:52am I seeing?
- 43:53And so I remember trying to call down to my friend and wake her up and see her like she
- 43:59was seeing this too.
- 44:01I couldn't get her to wake up.
- 44:03Oh, which I feel like was kind of weird.
- 44:05I also didn't want to get down.
- 44:07So I wasn't like shaking her anything.
- 44:08I was just like calling down like Chrissy.
- 44:10Chrissy.
- 44:11Chrissy.
- 44:12Chrissy.
- 44:13Wake up.
- 44:14Do you see the flight man?
- 44:16The shadow man.
- 44:17The planey hat man.
- 44:19But yeah, I couldn't get her to wake up and witness this with me.
- 44:22So probably thankfully for her, I don't know, I don't know what would have happened.
- 44:26Yeah.
- 44:27If she did wake up.
- 44:28That's interesting.
- 44:29And I remember it being, I don't know if I just am putting this on the story, thinking back
- 44:37on it, but I feel like I remember it being really quiet, like too quiet.
- 44:41Oh, like quieter than you would think the nighttime would be.
- 44:47Right.
- 44:48Like when you're out somewhere and it's kind of burrow or.
- 44:51You hear the e-stiff, like crickets.
- 44:53Right.
- 44:54I feel like that's a very common theme in certain types of like paranormal stories.
- 45:03And I don't know if it's something where you're just so focused on these other senses that
- 45:08you're not super focused.
- 45:10But also if I'm like seeing fire, what I think is fire, you think you would also be hearing
- 45:16crackling.
- 45:17Yes.
- 45:18The crackling of flames or something.
- 45:20But I don't know if I'm hearing anything.
- 45:23Like I barely remember hearing my own self to try to wake my friend up.
- 45:28That's so weird.
- 45:29Yeah.
- 45:30You would, I feel like if the fire is significant enough, you're going to be hearing it's
- 45:35like almost like brace crispy.
- 45:37Like yeah.
- 45:38Snap crackle hiss.
- 45:39Yeah.
- 45:40Like.
- 45:41And I did ask my mom too.
- 45:43I was like, do you guys remember having like a fire night or something?
- 45:46Like maybe it was only like 11 p.m.
- 45:49Like a bonfire outside.
- 45:50She doesn't know.
- 45:52And I'm pretty sure I was eight or nine.
- 45:54This is a long time ago.
- 45:55I'm pretty sure this window was like pointed at the, at like the driveway area.
- 46:01I don't know.
- 46:02I don't know.
- 46:03So yeah, probably would be weird to have like a fire pit.
- 46:07Yeah.
- 46:08Yeah.
- 46:09But she said no, we didn't have like a fire that night or anything.
- 46:13Huh.
- 46:14I'm glad I have like sort of like a cooperation a little bit.
- 46:19Yeah.
- 46:20So at this point, I'm like, well, my friends are waking up.
- 46:24All this, this is due.
- 46:25It's not moving or anything.
- 46:27I just can see the silhouettes like staring into the window and or maybe how does back to
- 46:33the window.
- 46:34I don't know.
- 46:35My thought was that it was looking into the window.
- 46:36Yeah.
- 46:37But I was like, well, worse things have happened to mislead.
- 46:41At least it's not on top of me trying to suffocate me like my sleep paralysis streams.
- 46:47And I'm not getting like, like, there's a creep like a weird vibe and not like a, it's
- 46:52kind of like the flannel man thing we talked about.
- 46:54Like not, not a bad vibe, but like a like fully malevolent.
- 46:59Yeah.
- 47:00But like, yeah, someone's there.
- 47:01It shouldn't be there.
- 47:02So it's kind of weird.
- 47:03Yeah.
- 47:04Well, it's like well, it's not seeming to do anything.
- 47:08So I guess I'll just go back to sleep.
- 47:13So I close my eyes.
- 47:15And I just went back to sleep.
- 47:19I think I'm stuck.
- 47:20What else would I do?
- 47:21Like, what are you doing?
- 47:23I'm a child.
- 47:25So I don't know.
- 47:26I like the slightest thing wakes me up and I cannot go back to sleep for the life of me.
- 47:35Like it could be my own goddamn urine.
- 47:38It's like summoning me from the deep.
- 47:42And I'm like, I can't go back to sleep now.
- 47:45See, I can always go back to sleep.
- 47:47No, it's a real challenge.
- 47:50I think it took me a minute.
- 47:51I do remember like closing my eyes and then like opening them back up to like kept making
- 47:57sure.
- 47:58But it was still there and it didn't move.
- 48:01So but eventually I did go back to sleep.
- 48:04I didn't, I don't think it took that long or anything.
- 48:05I don't remember like trying.
- 48:09I forever couldn't be me.
- 48:11I wrote silent night, unholy night because it was so quiet.
- 48:19Yeah.
- 48:21I love saying that.
- 48:22Oh boy.
- 48:24But one very interesting thing happened in the morning.
- 48:26So this is something I very distinctly remember.
- 48:29I don't remember a lot about this trip.
- 48:31I remember like going for a wheeling.
- 48:33This creepy thing happened in the morning.
- 48:37This is like what I remember from this trip.
- 48:39Okay.
- 48:40In the morning, I overheard the adults talking about how there was a property fire.
- 48:46There was a fire on the property and they had to rebuild some of the house.
- 48:52So like they didn't say anything about anyone dying.
- 48:57I don't think it was like a like a long time ago.
- 48:59It was like a recent ish.
- 49:01Like okay.
- 49:03They had rebuilt the house and so I don't think it was like way in the past, but I don't
- 49:07think it had just happened.
- 49:10Okay.
- 49:11I mean, I don't know.
- 49:12But I feel like maybe that could explain sort of a disturbance on the land.
- 49:20You know what I mean?
- 49:21It's like it awakened something or something like remembers or they didn't say about anything
- 49:29about anyone dying or anyone getting hurt or anything.
- 49:31I feel like that was something that they would have mentioned before already talking about
- 49:36it.
- 49:37Yeah.
- 49:38So I don't know if that was like maybe just a spirit that was already on the land or
- 49:45interest.
- 49:46Maybe the fire and the shadow person were like two separate things, like two separate hallucinations
- 49:52or whatever.
- 49:53I mean, could be very advanced of you just having like multi-leveled, like the fire was
- 50:04like a residual haunting and like the shadow person was able to come through because of
- 50:09that energy.
- 50:10I don't know.
- 50:11Yeah.
- 50:12I mean, that's sort of like, you know, if you were, I really, I really want to make a comparison
- 50:18to like multi-level marketing.
- 50:20Like if you were doing like Lula Roe and I don't know, it's another MLM like the those
- 50:27send it oils or something like essential oil or sent me.
- 50:35So yeah, so there's a fire on the property, which is like I had no idea about that prior
- 50:40to like seeing this fire thing.
- 50:41So it was like no way.
- 50:43That is so weird.
- 50:44Yeah.
- 50:45I don't know if this is like where I started trusting like having intuition and like thinking
- 50:52like maybe I'm more powerful than I know.
- 50:55Like how would I know?
- 50:58I'm like, you're like Spider-Man origins or maybe.
- 51:03I always knew I was a witch.
- 51:04I just had him post or syndrome.
- 51:06Yeah.
- 51:07No, that's fair.
- 51:08That's fair.
- 51:10So when I was talking to my mom, I was asking her all these questions.
- 51:13She did say she was like, you know, your brother mentioned having a nightmare about that
- 51:18house.
- 51:20What?
- 51:21Like way later in life, so he was only like two or three at the time we stayed there.
- 51:27Oh shit.
- 51:28Yeah.
- 51:29He was little and I don't know how he even like would remember this house, right?
- 51:34Yeah, I mean, depending on the kid, like two to four, that's kind of the earliest that
- 51:40most people have like an actual cognitive memory.
- 51:44Yeah.
- 51:45You have like random like random core memories, I feel like, but this was apparently one
- 51:49of his random core memories.
- 51:51This house we went to one time.
- 51:54That's insane.
- 51:55Yeah, which is, I guess that sort of makes sense because I remember having memories of
- 52:02like cool houses you go to because you're not there all the time.
- 52:04So it's like, that does make sense.
- 52:06Yeah.
- 52:07I mean, it's a unique experience.
- 52:09Yeah.
- 52:10So two or three, but then he had a nightmare about this house.
- 52:14I don't know how old he was.
- 52:15I asked him about it too.
- 52:16And he was like, yeah, I do remember that.
- 52:18I don't think we know how old he was when he had the nightmare, but it was like later on.
- 52:23Wait, so he didn't have it the night you guys were in the house.
- 52:26He had it later about the house.
- 52:31That's way weird.
- 52:32Isn't that weird?
- 52:33That's way weirder.
- 52:34So weird.
- 52:37He didn't really give me any details.
- 52:39He said he couldn't really remember.
- 52:40It was just really a really weird creepy dream about that cabin in the woods that we stayed
- 52:48up.
- 52:49Okay.
- 52:50Well, I for one would like to petition to have him hypnotize because I need more information.
- 52:58Do we let's hypnotize you?
- 53:01I know.
- 53:02I want to know what the dream was too.
- 53:05He says, I think he said he remembered like his only memory from the house is like sitting
- 53:10on the counter, which is like kind of funny.
- 53:12Yeah, but I don't know what.
- 53:14Yeah, I don't know what his nightmare was.
- 53:16He just said it was like weird and creepy.
- 53:18I don't think he actually remembers.
- 53:19So yeah, we get hypnotized and I'm just saying, I think we should give it the old college
- 53:25dream.
- 53:26And he didn't I never told him about this.
- 53:29So like he didn't really know that I had a weird experience.
- 53:31Well, I mean, of course, it's a seven year difference, right?
- 53:35Yeah.
- 53:36I mean, that's kind of all I had about this weird hat man and the fire experience that was
- 53:42is my only super spooky ghost story.
- 53:45But I don't have any answers.
- 53:47Yeah.
- 53:48That's that's very unsatisfying, but very intriguing.
- 53:52I know.
- 53:53I want to know more.
- 53:56I want to like try to figure out where this place isn't go back.
- 53:59Yeah.
- 54:00Did you see me already being like, okay, who can we ask?
- 54:03Where?
- 54:07Yeah, unfortunately, every photos, maybe we can geolocate it.
- 54:10Yeah, I don't know if we have photos.
- 54:12Unfortunately, my friend's mom who we went with has passed.
- 54:15Well, so we can't ask her.
- 54:18Okay.
- 54:19Yeah.
- 54:20I have so many follow up questions.
- 54:24I can't even begin to explain how many questions.
- 54:29Do we feel like maybe some of them can be answered by a little Tara?
- 54:35Maybe.
- 54:36I don't know.
- 54:37Tara?
- 54:38I want to get my answer to hat man.
- 54:40I want to know who this was.
- 54:42Was he cute?
- 54:43Because he was a young man looking at me.
- 54:46Oh, I did write in here.
- 54:47I did something super Christmasy.
- 54:49We'll mention it right before we go to the tarot.
- 54:51Give it to me.
- 54:52I went to the Transybarian Orchestra.
- 54:54That's right.
- 54:55It was really cool.
- 54:58I was like, okay, they do, they put the Christ in Christmas or whatever, but it's fine.
- 55:03It's not a religious thing though.
- 55:05It's kind of an orchestra.
- 55:07It was like Christmast.
- 55:08Well, because it's Christmas, they sing a lot of Christmast songs.
- 55:14Christmast.
- 55:15Yeah, I feel like it was like a religious vibe.
- 55:18Christmast.
- 55:19Yeah.
- 55:20It wasn't obviously like going to a church or something, you know?

- 1:07:44In a question about love, the king of one says the relationship is a strong one with plenty
- 1:07:50of affection and passion.
- 1:07:53Perhaps between two lively, creative, outgoing people.
- 1:07:58Maybe the shadow man was supposed to be my lover.
- 1:08:04Come back to me.
- 1:08:05I'm old enough now.
- 1:08:06Oh boy.
- 1:08:07I'm old age.
- 1:08:08I feel like that's problematic because you guys met when you were a child.
- 1:08:12Yeah, he was grooming me my whole life.
- 1:08:15I'm saying.
- 1:08:16I don't know.
- 1:08:17So we actually have two extra exerbs here.
- 1:08:21It says which way does the king face?
- 1:08:25Oh, north or south.
- 1:08:28Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:29I don't know either.
- 1:08:31I can make connections to a lot of that.
- 1:08:34That's my brain.
- 1:08:35Also this king is just facing forward.
- 1:08:38Yeah.
- 1:08:39The pattern recognition, that might be the tism.
- 1:08:44He is pointing upward up and down.
- 1:08:48Oh, interesting.
- 1:08:49Yeah, that's true.
- 1:08:50Oh, north and south.
- 1:08:53In some decks, the king faces sideways and whether he is looking forward or excuse me,
- 1:09:00and whether he is looking toward or away from other cards in his spread, we'll have a
- 1:09:04bearing on the reading.
- 1:09:06Oh, he's just forward.
- 1:09:09Interesting.
- 1:09:10Okay.
- 1:09:12Bully card.
- 1:09:14Oh.
- 1:09:15In the extreme, the reversed king of wands can be the bully card.
- 1:09:22As Mary K. Greer writes in the complete book of tarot reversals, we might need that.
- 1:09:28We need new books, I think.
- 1:09:29I think we need that book because I feel like the reverse interpretations, that's something
- 1:09:34we always want more insight on.
- 1:09:38You might oppose others simply as a display of one upmanship.
- 1:09:43You can be aggressive and abuse others like a bully or a common dawn with no humanity.
- 1:09:51Jesus, okay.
- 1:09:53Shut the fuck up.
- 1:09:55What?
- 1:09:56Okay.
- 1:09:57I was right.
- 1:09:58I had to look.
- 1:09:59Okay.
- 1:10:00Is a military term, an officer in charge of a particular force or institution.
- 1:10:08The example is the West Point common dawn of cadets.
- 1:10:14Weird.
- 1:10:15I never come across a word in everyday life.
- 1:10:18Yeah.
- 1:10:19I don't mean either.
- 1:10:20Deal.
- 1:10:21Interest.
- 1:10:22I've got the spooky news now.
- 1:10:24So I feel like we definitely got an answer.
- 1:10:26I feel like all of the military related things we got, I feel like that was a silver war hat.
- 1:10:35Pretty affirmative.
- 1:10:37What if it was an actual person who just shot that the Salvation Mary?
- 1:10:42Salvation Mary?
- 1:10:43Oh yeah.
- 1:10:44Well, that's why I was like, "Oh God, that could be real bad."
- 1:10:49Remember I was saying I was like, "Oh God, that could be a modern day in Selvibe."
- 1:10:55I don't know.
- 1:10:56I feel like if it was a real human person though, there's a difference.
- 1:11:00I feel like.
- 1:11:01Yeah.
- 1:11:02Also, there wasn't a fire that night.
- 1:11:03Yeah.
- 1:11:04We've established.
- 1:11:05So I was like, "Listen, I will always like grasp its draws."
- 1:11:10But then eventually you have to just see that there's not something that explains every
- 1:11:18point.
- 1:11:19Yeah.
- 1:11:20I kind of went off the deep end and I was like, "Well, was it like the sunrise?"
- 1:11:24And I was seeing through the trees, but it was...
- 1:11:28I could see that, but I just distinctly remember it flickering a fire.
- 1:11:33Right.
- 1:11:34Like fire.
- 1:11:35Suns are different.
- 1:11:36It's going to be more of a study.
- 1:11:37You might fit coming through the trees.
- 1:11:39If it's windy, maybe?
- 1:11:40Absolutely.
- 1:11:41I don't know.
- 1:11:42Maybe it was windy and it was a sunrise coming through the trees.
- 1:11:45Stop gaslighting my friends.
- 1:11:48Just trying to think of anything.
- 1:11:50And then I also thought of like Hocus Pocus where they put the car lights coming through
- 1:11:56the window and I'm like, "Oh, was it like a car?"
- 1:11:59I thought of that too when you mentioned the driveway, but those are just very different
- 1:12:03elements.
- 1:12:04I just feel like the way those types of light present, they're very different.
- 1:12:10And the amount of times, I've spent a good amount of time trying to think about it.
- 1:12:16Just look at this and figure out what it was and keep closing my eyes and opening them again.
- 1:12:21The only thing was it didn't move.
- 1:12:24So I'm like that.
- 1:12:25I don't know.
- 1:12:26What stands that still?
- 1:12:30I mean, and otherworldly presents.
- 1:12:34Just pah-pah.
- 1:12:36I mean, it had to...it had to have been.
- 1:12:40It was ghost, you guys.
- 1:12:41I saw ghosts.
- 1:12:42It's fine.
- 1:12:43Yeah.
- 1:12:44It feels like it ghost.
- 1:12:45I got to put my feet back up.
- 1:12:48I think the main reason we pulled that second card was just like the imagery alone.
- 1:12:54Yeah.
- 1:12:55Yeah.
- 1:12:56For sure.
- 1:12:57I mean, that's why I flagged it.
- 1:12:59For sure.
- 1:13:00We're greekey.
- 1:13:01We're greekey on it.
- 1:13:02That's weird.
- 1:13:03All right.
- 1:13:04Well, we hope you guys have a great holiday, whatever you're doing, whatever you celebrate,
- 1:13:10or if you don't celebrate at all.
- 1:13:12Yeah.
- 1:13:13Just have a great day.
- 1:13:14Yeah.
- 1:13:15Just have a great day in general.
- 1:13:16Be safe, as always.
- 1:13:17Yeah.
- 1:13:18Oh, I forgot to tell you I'm going to zoo lights tomorrow.
- 1:13:21Tomorrow?
- 1:13:22Oh, we were supposed to do that.
- 1:13:25My mom invited me.
- 1:13:27Oh, I don't want to intrude on mom and dad.
- 1:13:29She hadn't even listened to the episode yet.
- 1:13:31I mean, if there's still tickets, I forgot to tell you.
- 1:13:33She just asked me.
- 1:13:34I don't know.
- 1:13:36Maybe.
- 1:13:37If there's still tickets, maybe we'll have to ask her what time.
- 1:13:40Okay.
- 1:13:41Yeah.
- 1:13:42Ask her what time.
- 1:13:43Okay.
- 1:13:44She really wants to go.
- 1:13:45I feel like we'd be down if the time works.
- 1:13:47Yeah.
- 1:13:48Okay.
- 1:13:49Zoo lights.
- 1:13:50Remind me after this one week.
- 1:13:51Cut.
- 1:13:52Okay.
- 1:13:53Have a creepy day.
- 1:13:54Have a creepy day.
- 1:13:55Have a creepy day.
- 1:13:56I almost said Halloween.
- 1:13:57And that's not even the right holiday.
- 1:14:00Have a creepy ass holiday.
- 1:14:01Yeah.
- 1:14:02Let's do that.
- 1:14:03Have a creepy ass holiday.
- 1:14:04Have a creepy ass holiday.
- 1:14:05Or not.
- 1:14:06I mean, just do your thing.
- 1:14:09Whatever that is.
- 1:14:10Just make it creepy.
- 1:14:11Right.

- 1:14:30Yeah.
- 1:14:31Like what is she a Leo?
- 1:14:33Wow.
- 1:14:34That was like something.
- 1:14:35I was like, I don't know.
- 1:14:36I want to like tell a scary ghost story, but we didn't have any.
- 1:14:39And I was like, well, I have one.
- 1:14:42Do I just want to talk about myself for Christmas?
- 1:14:45I mean, yeah.

- 1:15:00There's a Santa skirt.
- 1:15:02Also doesn't really translate for, you know, you could just stand on your chair the whole
- 1:15:07time and we could just get skirt to view.
- 1:15:09Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:10But not an up skirt.
- 1:15:12That's correct.
- 1:15:13Yeah.
- 1:15:14No, thank you for that.
- 1:15:15Well, to be careful when we get the pod cam.
