Latest / Podcast - Big 98.7 / Pike Is Not Well After the Packers Loss
Transcript
- 0:00Well here I am. Everybody take your shots. Okay. Oh, I
- 0:03know, I know the role I'm playing as a Green Bay Packer fan living
- 0:07in Minnesota and North Dakota. I get it, and I welcome it.
- 0:10I love the contention between Vikings fans who And I'm not even trying to be
- 0:15mean or take a little jab. I know you get it totally. But
- 0:18Amanda, you know, Saturday Big Packer game, I'm going to the Cities
- 0:22to a birthday party. You know, it's just an unfortunate timingause my wife's
- 0:25sister's thirtieth birthday. We're having this big party and I got to watch the
- 0:29game, so I don't be saw with the photo. But there's literally this
- 0:31community room and this apartment where everybody's gathered in the one room celebrate and drink
- 0:37and eating cake, cute happy birthday balloons, everything, and it had like
- 0:40a really good vibe to it. In thirtieth there was just you. It
- 0:44looks like you were kind of in your own space yep. On the other
- 0:47side where the TV was yep, completely locked into the Green Bay Packer forty
- 0:50nine ers game for four hours. Well, if you saw the game,
- 0:55you know how I'm doing today. Well, emotionally, you had to have
- 0:59had a lot of really highs, like really high highs. Most of the
- 1:03game. I was pretty And this is where this is a fatal mistake,
- 1:07convincing yourself that you're going to win not only this game but the next and
- 1:12you'll be in the super Bowl. And when you just in a heartbreaking fashion
- 1:17lose at the end of the game a manda, it makes it so much
- 1:19worse. I would rather have lost by a thousand I can see that,
- 1:23yes, because you were so hopeful now and I am truly not doing this
- 1:27to like really bring up the feelings I crashed. What ended up happened?
- 1:30Did they miss a field goal and through an interception? Yeah, the game
- 1:34ended on an interception. But they were winning almost a whole game. Six
- 1:38minutes left, they go down, they have a chance to take a seven
- 1:41point lead, they miss a field goal. Kicker is the most pathetic kicker
- 1:44in the history of the NFL. Oh okay, I don't ever want to
- 1:47see Hm in a Packer uniform again. Worse than Crosby though, because did
- 1:49Crosby Crosse is a Hall of Fame kicker. Man. He had one bad
- 1:53season, that was it, But I'm sorry I brought it up, Okay,
- 1:55But the thing for me is, and a lot of people judge me
- 1:57on this, it's it's just one of those things. It's a there's so
- 2:00many highs that come with it when you care this much. And really,
- 2:01I know some people think it's football it's stupid, but really, if you
- 2:05break it down, what does anything mean? You know? Anybody? Whatever
- 2:08your this is deep? What is your interest? What do you get satisfaction
- 2:13from the spoy or for you? None of it matters. It's just all
- 2:15things that make us feel good throughout our lives. Until you know, do
- 2:20you feel better? No? No, Well I'll tell you at least you're
- 2:23not that Green Bay Packer fan, you know what I mean? Like,
- 2:25you're not one that just like bothers people. So that's good to know.
- 2:29Some people might, you know, not even realize that I'm a fan.
- 2:30I'm not like the loudest on social media. I don't. You're tolerable Internally,
- 2:36I try, but internally it's all I think about. I care so
- 2:39much, and so it's kind of like a It's kind of like having a
- 2:44pet, Amanda. You feel like this. Some people might say, why
- 2:47would you get a dog, knowing full well that sooner than later ten twelve,
- 2:53thirteen years you're going to experience the worst heartbreak of your life when that
- 2:59dog poss This is why brust me. I know, yeah, we both
- 3:01wouldn't you say that the time you had together is worth it? The highsman,
- 3:07I'm really I'm trying to understand. But yeah, so it's much like
- 3:10me cheering on the Green Bay Packers and being a fan of football. It's
- 3:13like you know your heart's gonna get broken more often than not. But why,
- 3:19Well, I'll tell you why, because nothing could replace the feelings I
- 3:23felt prior to Saturday night. Okay, it's all worth it, even though
- 3:28I know it's gonna happen again and again. So who are you rooting for
- 3:30for this time? I'm not gonna watch it. I haven't watched football and
- 3:32I will not watch a second of it. You've got to be rooting for
- 3:35the Lions, right, don't cents? Chiefs, don't care. That's who
- 3:38I'm going for, literally, don't care. I hope they canceled the season.
- 3:40I hope there's a skin disease outbreak. Much like my senior season of
- 3:45high school wrestling. It happens. Okay, I mean, come on,
- 3:50you're gonna at least watch a super Bowl so you can be like yeah,
- 3:52yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, I will tune in for Usher.
- 3:54Okay, got it? And that's it's in the morning, big naty
- 3:58eight point seven. Right, let's do it. Is it weird? We
- 4:03discussed the little things we do in our personal lives that we kind of wonder
- 4:06to ourselves and you probably do too. Is this weird? Am I the
- 4:10only one doing this totally? And so, Amanda, you've really really teased
- 4:14us. I mean I'm not alone when I say I'm on the edge of
- 4:15my seat. So are you please proceed? Is it weird that I have
- 4:19not been into Target on Thirteenth Avenue since they've done the remodel, and it's
- 4:26been probably six plus years. I did not know. Is it weird that
- 4:30I did not know they had a liquor store until a few weeks ago in
- 4:33the Target on thirteenth Avenue. This is a weird one. I'm not saying
- 4:39that's weird. I'm just saying that this is your Is it weird? Yes?
- 4:42Well you know why haven't you? I guess it's kind of that like
- 4:45post COVID. I don't go into stores really, I do drive up for
- 4:48everything, so if I do pick up, I'm over on the side.
- 4:51Like I've never gone in there, So if I were to walk in,
- 4:55my anxiety would go wild because I wouldn't know where to go, Like I
- 4:58wouldn't know where anything is. Okay, what, I'm sure you'd figure it
- 5:01out. Well, yeah, but you know how, it's not. It's
- 5:04just a story. It's a store you don't go. And there's a list
- 5:06of stores I haven't stepped foot in in this town. I've lived here for
- 5:10thirty three years minus a few, but there's still like a handful of stores
- 5:14that are pretty customer like you should at least have gone in there. I
- 5:16don't know, like Target, No, No, you don't and don't feel
- 5:19like you just because like social media moms pressuring you into being like a Target
- 5:25man, you really don't coffee. No, I know, I think it's
- 5:29weird. I'm not that said you should go in there. It's lovely,
- 5:31is it. Yeah? Parking Lot's a bit of a mess, but and
- 5:34I think that's probably why I've always opted to And I'd really like to know
- 5:38how much I've saved in the past couple of years by not going into a
- 5:42store because it gets to be crazy. Yeah. The thing about Target that
- 5:46floors me is like the line at the Starbucks constantly, it never ending.
- 5:51I know, first of all, why would you wait that while you're standing
- 5:54in the Target. It's like, just dry, go get coffee somewhere else,
- 5:58do whatever you want to Dude. Saying that, I say, it
- 6:00wasn't as weird as I thought. It was not weird at all. Is
- 6:03it as weird as this? Though? Yesterday we're watching a movie because I'm
- 6:06doing anything to not watch football, right, Yeah, there was. That's
- 6:11too bad because we found this twenty twelve gem that I hadn't even heard of,
- 6:15called The Impossible. Have you heard this film? It's about the two
- 6:18thousand and four tsunami that killed two hundred thousand people in Southeast Asia. I
- 6:26remember hearing about you. How about that? Yeah, one of the biggest
- 6:29tragedies ever. Well, Naomi Watches nominated for an oscar in this film.
- 6:32Anyway, So we're watching the movie and there's a scene where this family gets
- 6:35brought back together and it's the most like beautiful moment, and I'm starting to
- 6:40cry. Okay, and I know my wife on the other side of the
- 6:44couch is sobbing. But because I know that, I don't look over.
- 6:47Is it weird when you know somebody else is crying, like just to not
- 6:50look at them once? Or should I be consoling her because I you know,
- 6:55for my part, I'm going through it too. I mean this moment,
- 6:57Amanda, you should see it, Okay, the fact that I don't
- 7:00want to spoil it, because you should watch this movie. It's called The
- 7:01Impossible again incredible, the story of this family who somehow well wait, you
- 7:08already spoiled it. It sounds like they get back together Pike, and it's
- 7:11just gut wrenching. I'm not saying how many of them get back together?
- 7:15Do they all make it? I don't know. I'm guessing Naomi Wats' family
- 7:17gets back together. I'm not saying that either. It doesn't matter. I
- 7:21mean, they started out with five. Do all five get back together?
- 7:25Well? Who knows? Bottom line is is that is weird? Why would
- 7:29you not scoot over and have that moment with your wife and console her because
- 7:31that's got to be awkward for her. No, she is probably she's probably
- 7:36just anxiously awaiting she's probably crying more tears because you didn't come over and put
- 7:41your hand on her snugglerr in, nuzzle in. I think she wants that
- 7:45moment to herself because I'm sitting there and I got like a tear rolling down
- 7:47my face. Again, beautiful scene, but I know she is, like
- 7:54you know, I can like hear the panting going on, so she doesn't
- 7:58even look at you, because I could have felt if she was looking at
- 8:01you. And did you even talk about it after any a feeling? Amanda?
- 8:03Can you feel when somebody's looking at you? Can you feel the love
- 8:07tonight? I know she very well could be doing the same thing, but
- 8:09you didn't discuss it at the end of the movie, like ah, that
- 8:13was a real tear jerker or anything. We go, Oh, good,
- 8:16good movie. What do you want to watch now? For real? Yeah,
- 8:20this situation is bizarre. What do you want us to go to therapy?
- 8:22Is discuss our feelings about this movie? No? But I also kind
- 8:26of feel like you're setting this movie up for it to be really good and
- 8:30you were still just crying over the packers loss. To be fair, That's
- 8:33where I feel like that tearcase. Okay, I thought we could get through
- 8:35this without bringing that up once. Yeah, emotions were high, but it
- 8:37had nothing to do with that beautiful family that may or may not have gone
- 8:41back together after the two namies. A beautiful story. I get Amna in
- 8:46the morning, seven, Amanda. You know me. I'm not wanting to
- 8:50get into other people's business, right yeah, but in this case, when
- 8:52I see something unjust, you know, I'm gonna stick my little nose and
- 8:56you gonna step in. I don't know if you've heard about this guy who's
- 9:00the zamboni driver for the Detroit Red Wings. Okay, NHL team been one
- 9:03for a long time. I know nothing about this zamboni driver you speak of.
- 9:07My dude, Al Sabotka, seventy years old and has been the zamboni
- 9:13driver for the Red Wings for fifty years. Who I love. Stint a
- 9:18long run, well until recently, Amanda. Al was fired as the zamboni
- 9:22driver. Oh no, that's right. The reason, Oh gosh, he
- 9:28was caught by a fellow employee urinating in a drain between two zambonis, and
- 9:35so he was fired for urinating into a drain. Now you're imagine, no,
- 9:41just the employee, so you can imagine like at shields a rena even
- 9:45where they keep the zamboni, they drive off the ice into the like kind
- 9:48of garage area. Yep. So unfortunately for Al, an employee saw m
- 9:52saw him reported him. In weeks later he was fired for real, Now
- 9:58you mean, come on, there comes at I don't know what his file
- 10:01looks like after fifty years. Has he been written up a few times?
- 10:05Has he been slapped for a little urinating in the This was in the first
- 10:09time he exposed. Yeah, exactly in the same spot. We got to
- 10:13know a little bit more. Apparently not because he's heartbroken, and now Al
- 10:16he has a reason, he said, because of his age. He currently
- 10:20has benign prostatic hyperplasia. You have that too, don't you? Oh,
- 10:24I don't know what. That's a condition that makes it difficult to regulate,
- 10:28to regulate urination. So kind of like when you gotta go, you gotta
- 10:31go. Here's a bit of a conspiracy that I got Al seventy years old.
- 10:35Had he said that just before the incident, he was on a video
- 10:37call, which the fact that a zamboni driver has to jump on a video
- 10:41call, right, But one of the upper ups at the Detroit red Wings
- 10:45made a comment along the lines of Al, you're getting pretty old, right,
- 10:50and so he believes. Now this is Al's theory that the firing had
- 10:54less to do with the urination as it did with Oh no, his age.
- 11:01Yeah, I don't like it. I mean, is he's still doing
- 11:03a good job. It feels like if he's been doing this, guy could
- 11:07be sleeping and he could do it in his sleep. After fifty years,
- 11:09let the guy run the zamboni unless he's causing some problems. And let's be
- 11:13honest, I mean, a drain, it all goes to the same place.
- 11:16Like my buddy, we used to stay in his basement all the time.
- 11:20And if you've ever been in like a baseman ornstairs where there's not a
- 11:22bathroom, it went in the middle of the night. That's the nightmare stuff.
- 11:24So we used to just walk into the laundry room, go in the
- 11:26drain. That's so disgusting, though, I mean, I can see that
- 11:30his mom did eventually take issue with it because the house began to smell like
- 11:33urine. I can imagine, which is fair. But in Al's case,
- 11:35it's not like you're gonna stick up the whole arena. Man If this was
- 11:39more of a local story, not a big Red Wings fan. No,
- 11:41I don't care about him one bit, but you'd think that there'd be fans
- 11:46or people that are gonna hear this story come together and either create a gofund
- 11:48me so I would be hitting refreshed for that, or just people protesting at
- 11:54the zamboni driver at the games like that did insane? I mean, come
- 11:56on, I mean you think he's got to be a bit of a local
- 12:00fifty years on the ice driving that big old zamboni around. Yeah, unless
- 12:03they gave him a really good compensation plan. But even if they did,
- 12:07I don't think he'd be complaining. It's not about the money for Al.
- 12:09You don't think after fifty years driving that zamboni he's not making good good coin.
- 12:13It's about the principle he wanted to have, and he said it in
- 12:16a statement. He just wanted to be able to retire on his own terms.
- 12:20It meant a lot to his family. Yeah, and to go out
- 12:22in such a disgraced fashion, it's heartbreaking. And I think we got a
- 12:26fight. Justice fund me, Justice for Al. You get the hashtaking hashtake
- 12:33going all set up the goalfundme we're gonna make this right. Wife and Amanda
- 12:35in the morning on Big seven. This just happened. This guy's twenty one
- 12:41years old. His name's Matteas. He's partying it up on the beach.
- 12:45He's twenty one years old, hanging out with the boys when suddenly he gets
- 12:48hit in the head by something. You know that jarring feeling of just getting
- 12:52smoked in the head. Oh hey, yeah. He didn't know what it
- 12:56was. He assumed probably like a rock because it was that, and then
- 13:00he realized he was bleeding. He's like, jeez, I really got smoked
- 13:03in the head. Okay, coconut. He goes back to the room,
- 13:07they get ready, and they go out. He goes to the bar well,
- 13:09then wakes up the next day realizes that he's starting to like kind of
- 13:13twitch in his right arm, like his right arm is being weird, gets
- 13:18a little droopy. So he's like, all right, something's going on.
- 13:20I got like a concussion or brain bleeder, Like, yeah, they're having
- 13:24a stroke, I mean something. So he finally goes to the doctor days
- 13:28later, Amanda, and you'll never guess what they found. So it wasn't
- 13:31a coconut. He didn't get him that with a coconut, okay, or
- 13:35any other treed fruit. And I'm trying to think of what would be coming
- 13:37at you. He was shot in the head. He had a bullet in
- 13:41his head. Shut up, What are you talking about? My guy?
- 13:46Matteas literally took a bullet and that nobody hang on, nobody heard the gunfire
- 13:52that shot him in the head. Yes, he was bleeding. What he
- 13:56just put a band aid on it and acted as though it wrapped it up.
- 14:01Now you're partying on the beach. This is in Brazil, Okay,
- 14:03care where you are. You might not hear. And I'm assuming it's like
- 14:07a distant gunshot like one that just went stray. I don't think anybody was,
- 14:11you know, walking up and pointing a gun at him. Right,
- 14:13So let's go drive by shooting from a football field away whatever it may be.
- 14:18You're still gonna I mean, I've never been shot in the head,
- 14:22so I guess I can't speak from experience, But well, what are you
- 14:24suggesting He's making it up? Yes, this is insane. There's no way
- 14:28this happened. He went to bottom line, he went to the hospital and
- 14:31they found a bullet in his head and it wasn't just like a flesh wound
- 14:33like in the movie Taken it was just a flesh wound. No, this
- 14:37actually like hit his brain. Hence the droopiness of the right arm. We
- 14:41sure that there wasn't like a hole from something else, and then they pushed
- 14:45a bullet in there. You're really doing some mental gymnastics to drive it.
- 14:48Cam make this guy look like a lie because going back to what you had
- 14:52mentioned, this feels impossible. Oheble neal. I'm just gonna act as though
- 14:58he didn't get shot in the head and have no I he like you said,
- 15:01that just hurt. It was bleeding. He felt like you got hit
- 15:03in the head. Now, if somebody threw a rock in the I would
- 15:05have turned around a bit like what the heck? So I don't know if
- 15:09he did that at the least, but somebody just shoot me in the head.
- 15:13Hey, Hey, who's shooting bullets in my head? Knock it off?
- 15:20He's okay. Well, other than a little droopiness, he's fine.
- 15:24Yeah, now here's what you need him now. Well. The real MVP
- 15:30of the football weekend was Jason Kelsey supporting his brother last night at the Chiefs
- 15:35game. He ripped his shirt off when Travis did a touchdown. It's going
- 15:39viral and it's just graty he did a touchdown. What do I keep saying
- 15:43earlier saying he made a touchdown and now it's just I mean, listen,
- 15:46you're a sports girl. I get it through massive sports girl. But a
- 15:52new picture that's surfacing this morning if you haven't seen it yet, after Travis
- 15:54Kelsey had a shirt off and he jumped out of the suites down to the
- 15:58car and folks, there was this little girl holding a Taylor Swift sign and
- 16:03the mom allowed the the man without a shirt on, Jason Kelsey, to
- 16:07pick him up. So he picks up this little girl, brings her up
- 16:11to the suite while she's holding the sign to show Taylor like, hey,
- 16:15here's one of your fans. It is the cutest. That's adorable. They
- 16:18didn't bring the kid into the suite to sit with Taylor for no I'm guessing
- 16:22at some point somebody's like, hey, Jason, I get that this is
- 16:26a really sweet thing, but you still don't have your shirt on, and
- 16:27it's my daughter that you're not her dad holding the kid up like he's you
- 16:30know, the lion King Monkey totally either way, it was adorable. Everybody's
- 16:36talking about it. Whether you like the Kelsey brothers, Taylor Swift do not
- 16:40like the Kelsey brothers. I think there are people who are their section of
- 16:42population them, yes, because they're just getting too much a toonchiit. Jason
- 16:48is as likable as against Travis. I could hear your argument for not liking
- 16:52shit. This would be the point where I'm gonna tell you who's playing,
- 16:56and I need you to play Travis Kelsey. Okay, so the Lion's the
- 17:00forty nine Ers, don't We don't need to know that, Amanda. We're
- 17:03not talking about football scores. You're talking about a human interest story that happened
- 17:07at the football game. Coincidentally, Yeah, we do not need to discuss
- 17:10which teams are moving on. So the Lions and forty nine Ers are playing
- 17:14next time, the Chiefs and the Ravens are playing. And if I was
- 17:17Travis Kelce, what do you think I had to say about the game last
- 17:19night? Ye me, he'd probably go all right now, So Trav,
- 17:26you guys one stop away from the super Bowl, all right now? Ever,
- 17:33since you pointed this out, every interview, everything I hear is just
- 17:37him being a big old defen kind of all. He says, all right,
- 17:40brother, all right, now preach, preach. It's so good ye
- 17:45all right. Not a lot going on there between the OLDI ear drums.
- 17:48All right. The Minnesota State Lottery is telling people, hey, maybe this
- 17:52year you should check your tickets because they just reported that under fourteen million dollars
- 17:56of prizes, yeah we're unclaimed. One was a million dollar mega Million's ticket.
- 18:02Ooof yeah, you like to pick that one up if you can't.
- 18:04If possible, I'd keep that one around. But they did say no worries
- 18:08after twelve months. They just move it to the state's general fund. People
- 18:12probably just donating, I mean, talk about a worthy cause, the government's
- 18:17general fund. I want an audit on that, bad boy. I remember
- 18:21when I was growing up and your parents like you can donate. I know
- 18:22you do this with your kids, like you can donate to one charity this
- 18:26holiday season to teach them giving back. YEP. I always went with the
- 18:29government's general Let's get back to that long you're number one? Is that on
- 18:34givingheartstate dot org? Right now? The government's general fund? Oh gosh,
- 18:38all right, I've got a worthy cause. Well, it's official. It
- 18:41was blowing up my news feed yesterday, these cicada bugs. Oh cicadas.
- 18:47Yeah, so I had never heard of these, but apparently they're coming for
- 18:52us. It's the year of the cicadas. So they are on a thirteen
- 18:56year cycle and a seventeen year old, seventeen year cycle, and somehow they're
- 19:00underground right now. There's one brood that's on a thirteen year cycle, there's
- 19:06another brood that's on a seventeen year old cycle. And since eighteen oh three
- 19:11they've been on different cycles. But this year they're sinking up and they are
- 19:15supposed to come up in late April, and they go on like this mating
- 19:21feast feast. I mean, oh you cant. I don't know, but
- 19:25it's a maiding frenzy. Excuse me, Oh there you go. I don't
- 19:27know. I guess I don't know what what they're mating ritual entail. They
- 19:33are saying that it's going to be so intense that we've heard some of the
- 19:36noise. It's like a little jackhammer or a motorcycle is the noise that these
- 19:40guys make. So you're gonna hear this. A lot of this going on
- 19:42outside your window. And how long do they after they do that? Do
- 19:45they die? Is it? I don't know a lot about cicadas, But
- 19:49I'm a little conversis sound of that. I mean, I feel like I
- 19:52don't know if they die, but I mean it's gonna be exhausted. At
- 19:56the very least. It's been since eighteen oh three, so it's been a
- 20:00lot of years that they've been down there. I don't know they like you
- 20:03said, thirteen and seven years or whatever, like whatever you said thirteen and
- 20:06seven. They come up for a long time, but it's the same brood,
- 20:08so you can imagine that they just get tired of the same old you
- 20:11know, So now they're gonna come up and be like, hey, freshet,
- 20:15who are you? I'm on over here. I don't know. I'm
- 20:18a little nervous, gonna be cloudy today. Hi you twenty and two and
- 20:22I was really excited about summer. But if this is what we're anticipating,
- 20:26I don't know if I'm prepared. Who's this over there? Now? What's
- 20:30your name? Honey? I get a minute in the morning on Big Honey
- 20:33eight points seven. I gotta go in on the mandy here because I'm getting
- 20:36criticized from my behavior this weekend. Now, I'll admit I am a more
- 20:40passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers than most. A lot of people say,
- 20:42oh yeah, I like if I like football, I like the Vikings,
- 20:45I like the Packers, and I always just go, do you yeah?
- 20:48Do you as much as me an intolerable fan, like that's what I
- 20:52have to give you, Like you are not one of those people that super
- 20:55annoying about it. You just kind of keep it close to your heart.
- 20:57It is something that I believe I internalized pretty well. I'm not very loud
- 21:02on social media, but inside it's during the season anyway, especially during the
- 21:04playoffs, it's all I think about. Saturday morning. We are going to
- 21:07the City's for this birthday party. I got a be at four am,
- 21:11wide awake. I could not wait till game time, doing anything I could
- 21:15just to keep my mind off of it. But that's how excited I was,
- 21:18Amanda. So I already told you We're at a birthday party. My
- 21:21wife's sister turned thirty this weekend. Perfect time. Everyone's celebrating in this community
- 21:26room and I'm in the corner in front of the TV for four hours looking
- 21:30like a nut case. Well, yeah, because there was a lot of
- 21:32ups and yeah, unfortunately ended on a down. And so we're downtown or
- 21:37in the north woop of Minneapolis, and everybody had already left to go to
- 21:40the bar and we were hanging back to finish the game. And so as
- 21:44soon as the clock hat zero in the game, my heart was broken.
- 21:47Everyone's like, all right, let's go party time, Let's go to the
- 21:49bar. And so I had to pick myself emotionally up off of the floor,
- 21:53Amanda, and go to the bar. And we get in the door
- 21:56and it's bumping, you know, there's a band body to body, everyone's
- 22:00having a good time, and then there's me, miserable. Okay, I
- 22:07can't even breathe, let alone raw ride up celebrating. So I literally looked
- 22:11at my wife Lauren, who had just ordered to drink. We had just
- 22:14paid fifteen dollars to get into this bar. I just looked at her.
- 22:17I said, I can't do it. I cannot do this. I cannot
- 22:22be here right now. You just couldn't. You could muster up enough energy
- 22:26to just get over it for a little bit. I could not, man
- 22:29No, And I feel like you know I can get through some things historically
- 22:33I could. I cannot get over this. So I said, we got
- 22:36to go, and she's like what. I'm like, I'm sorry, We've
- 22:40got to go. And so we walked back and went to bed. It
- 22:42was ten thirty. Everyone else stayed out the rest of the night, and
- 22:45I just couldn't do it. You think that's a little that's irrational behavior a
- 22:48little bit, But what's the point of being there? Just like drinking being
- 22:52you know, listen, when you're at a bar like that, when it's
- 22:52body to body and you're not having fun, it's about the last place you
- 22:56want to be in the world, you know. I mean, I get
- 22:59it, but I also say, like, Okay, it's a game,
- 23:00it's over, let's move forward. That's where you're wrong, man, It's
- 23:03not just a game, right And your sister in law turns thirty once?
- 23:07Yeah, And I'm sure she had a great time. From the pictures,
- 23:10it looks like fun was had by all except for me. Like it a
- 23:12manua in the morning. I hope I'm not, you know, breaking any
- 23:15relationships up today, but I do want you to know there are signs that
- 23:19it is in fact a doomed relationship. Oh you do. And a lot
- 23:22of times these are things that you know this right if you've been in a
- 23:26relationship where you just know in the back of your head it ain't going anywhere.
- 23:30It's over. It's just a matter of time to you know, who
- 23:32decides to break up with whom. Well, man, if you're comfortable,
- 23:34maybe in a situation, I could see that. How about number one?
- 23:37And we see this every day. The first sign that your relationship is doomed
- 23:41is if you live with your partner, but you subconsciously delay going home to
- 23:45them. So you may be seen this at your workplace where it's like you
- 23:49got the guy who just never leaves. It's like why why is he working
- 23:53such long hours? And you kind of put it together, You're like,
- 23:56I just think he would rather be here than at home totally. Or the
- 24:00person like, hey, dibbs, I'll go ahead and do that on a
- 24:04Saturday morning, of course, Yeah, I'm out of there, no problem.
- 24:08Late night emails like he's just doing about anything to sit at achiever not
- 24:14so much, Okay, it's a sign you're a marriage is doomed. Second
- 24:17sign not responding to text indicator that you just you know you can't be bothered.
- 24:22Yeah, that's going to be a big red flag. Yeah, well,
- 24:25you just don't respond to text or what I'm just saying. If somebody
- 24:27is not responding to my text messages astill Leavista baby, Well, I mean,
- 24:32I think you get to a point that where it's like you don't feel
- 24:33the need to respond right away. You know it's noon. Sometimes when I
- 24:37respond to the good morning text, am I doomed? No way, what
- 24:42Amanda? We're busy in here, Okay, I take more pride in this
- 24:45radio show. Oh you're such a lie, you do? Are you having
- 24:49side conversations over there? Absolutely? Well, my dad's in town right now.
- 24:55He's with the kids. Yeah, making sure everything's good, ready to
- 24:57go, just waiting for Arizona. Time for my husband to say good morning,
- 25:02and then we'll have a little chit chat. You respond, you're such
- 25:03a liar. Just think of how good this show could be if both of
- 25:07us were putting in the effort, if we were so distracted like it a
- 25:11minute in the morning, Big ninety eight point seven ninety Ananda stills the sea.
- 25:17Let's see, did you see people freaking out over Reese Witherspoon's latest TikTok.
- 25:22So they finally got snow pretty much all over America and people are going
- 25:26wild. It's hilarious seeing these celebrities, like we're going sledding for the first
- 25:30time in our backyard when usually you're just seeing them in the pool all the
- 25:34time. Sure, well, Reese Witherspoon said, snow days are made for
- 25:37Choco sinnos, and like Chaco sinnos, I know. So she did a
- 25:42step by step tutorial. She walked outside shoveling snow into a coffee cup,
- 25:48and people went, no she did. She didn't just go out and get
- 25:52snow to make this drink. So what she did is she put the snow
- 25:56in there, she added salted caramel syrup and chop glit syrup, and then
- 26:00she added some cold brew. And people were losing their minds, like does
- 26:03she not know you're not supposed to eat snow? It says, who right?
- 26:08I mean, I used to do it with Shasta. Did you ever
- 26:11have Shasta pop? Well, of course, it's part of growing up.
- 26:14Yeah, so that's how we made slushies all which we want to snow.
- 26:17Yes, we'd go outside and then we would grab like a strawberry Kiwi Shasta,
- 26:21pour it over it, okay, delish. He turned out kind of
- 26:25weird, but you know, totally healthwise. Okay. But I catch myself
- 26:27with my kids too, like don't because they love it, but they'll get
- 26:33the snow like right outside of the doorm, like, yeah, that's been
- 26:36walked on. The snowblower has been on it. Do we not? Yeah,
- 26:38you gotta find the fresh stuff, the real fluffy powder, the yellow
- 26:41stuff. That's the best stuff. Oh, exactly. Face, that was
- 26:45always my favorite. And following his homecoming concert on Friday in Memphis, justin
- 26:49Timberlake, we knew it was happening, made an announcement he's got a new
- 26:53album that has set to be released. It's his first one in six years.
- 26:56Oh boy, it's called Everything I thought. I. I feel like
- 27:00there's gonna be some shots at Brittany in here or maybe him growing up.
- 27:04Well that doesn't sound and not to you know, who knows what it means,
- 27:07but it sounds like the person who I thought I was, or you
- 27:11know, like he's really looking inward correct and realizing, you know what,
- 27:14maybe I was sort of a bad guy. Yeah, which is great.
- 27:17That's kind of the vibe that I was getting in. But here was the
- 27:18video trailer for it? What do we have here? Who? This is
- 27:23a nice car? The car? Wait, it's a model the model car?
- 27:27Did that? Saint jt Okay, that sounds that it's definitely not real.
- 27:34Ah, there is justin Ah. Why wouldn't he tear around so dumb?
- 27:41What tough is he staring at? Big announcement? New album? Un
- 27:45dun dut dug. We're probably gonna hear some of it. He's gonna be
- 27:48on Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, and then he's a musical guest on Saturday Night
- 27:52Live. Maybe a reason to kind of peek. I don't know why.
- 27:56I don't know if I'm just so disappointed because I was really hoping. I
- 28:00knew this wasn't going to be an InSync announcement. Like I'm not delusional.
- 28:03It was just all the teas a couple of months ago. And now I'm
- 28:07like, okay, cool, we knew this was coming, right, you
- 28:08know, And wouldn't you prefer this over a new InSync album anyway? It
- 28:11wouldn't even be a new InSync album. We release the one and then just
- 28:17go out on tour. Yeah, that's true, That's what I would watch,
- 28:21And this is kind of shocking. Alec Baldwin is facing involuntary manslaughter charges
- 28:25again after a grand jury in New Mexico. I guess they indicted him on
- 28:29Friday. He was previously charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors dropped
- 28:33the case in April twenty twenty three. Gloria Allread is the attorney for Hutchinson's
- 28:38family, and she said we're doing everything we can to seek the truth in
- 28:41our civil lawsuit for the family and went on to say that there needs to
- 28:45be accountability for the criminal justice system, which we were always kind of wondering
- 28:49how that just got dismissed because he pulled the trigger. We know this,
- 28:53he said he didn't. I don't know what the facts are, Honestly,
- 28:56I haven't paid that much attention. But how stressful they're like, feel like
- 29:02you not got away with it, because again I don't think he intentionally did
- 29:06anything, of course, but the fact he was kind of like, okay,
- 29:08this is over right, always loving, I wouldn't have slept a single
- 29:11wink. Well, he could face up to eighteen months in prison. Sources
- 29:15close to him say that he and his wife, Hilaria are very stressed out
- 29:21about the situation. But I can also imagine she is losing her mind because
- 29:23they have eight kids, and I think five of them are under three.
- 29:27So yeah, I'd be a little stressed too if my husband was going to
- 29:30prison for eighteen months. Yeah, you gotta have Daddy at home. That's
- 29:33what I always say. Do you agree, yes, Daddy gotta be home.
- 29:41Takeet a minute in the morning. Seven, I'd like to discuss the
- 29:45fact that if you're interviewing for a job now, there are so many more
- 29:48things you need to be aware of, and I'm going to help you with
- 29:51that right now, because a lot of people wouldn't even know the things that
- 29:53hiring managers are doing to decide whether or not you're a worthy candidate. It
- 29:59goes much beyond like your experience and the adiada, how well you work in
- 30:02groups. They peep in your profile, not even Amanda. Okay, So
- 30:04a hiring manager, this boss has admitted to something they do in every interview
- 30:10called the coffee cup test. So if you go in for the in person
- 30:12interview, this boss will bring you to the breakroom and offer you a drink
- 30:18and they'll give it to you in a coffee cup from the breakroom. So
- 30:21then you go to the office, you do the interview, You tell them
- 30:25you know how excited you are about the opportunity and you want to grow in
- 30:26their business. Well, then at the end of the interview, Manda,
- 30:30here comes the coffee cup test. They decide if you do or do not
- 30:33ask to bring the coffee cup back to the breakroom. If you don't in
- 30:37any way say like, oh where does this go? Or can I bring
- 30:41this back? Can I put this? If you don't pick up after yourself,
- 30:42basically I washed this cup. If you just leave that coffee cup,
- 30:45if you abandon it, you're immediately scratched from recognition. Really interesting, my
- 30:52gosh, I like that though. You might be like the most worthy candidate,
- 30:55but if you don't bring that coffee cup back. Isn't that wild though,
- 30:57because I don't know, like, that's your coffee cup. I don't
- 31:00work here yet. You offered it, Like yeah, but it's not too
- 31:03much to expect you to take care of it. This is what drives me
- 31:07crazy. No, it's just like we kind of talk about this in general,
- 31:10even when we go out to eat. You think I'm a weirdo because
- 31:11I'm always like picking up. It's just not why I think you're a weirdo.
- 31:15But it's respectful to like take the coffee cup in. I would not
- 31:19just let it sit there. Yeah, you're there. You're not gonna do
- 31:22that. You're gonna look at them and go, is there a syne?
- 31:26Because there's somewhere I can put this absolutely wild, that's common sense. But
- 31:30that's cutting you out of it. Shouldn't it be worth more than that?
- 31:34Though? If you're you don't know, but maybe you've had job interviews like
- 31:38where it goes really well and you feel like you're like super qualified, but
- 31:42then you just don't hear from them or it. You know, they'd say
- 31:45all we're moving on with other candidates. It's like really, now I'm thinking
- 31:49bag, you know, it's like did I what have I done? You
- 31:52know, well, you used to eat coffee cups? If they were styrofoam,
- 31:56that could have been one red flag. You think that'd be a turn
- 31:59off for an employe if they saw me munching on his styrofoam. Okay,
- 32:02guy's got a great resume, but he's probably you're probably gonna be dead.
- 32:07What is your attire? Do you like roll up like? Well today,
- 32:10you're not usually on a Monday. You're wearing a Packers shirt? Would you?
- 32:15What the heck? What did we just say three minutes ago? Did
- 32:17I start this by saying let's not bring up the Packers. I'll give you
- 32:21a pass there because it's true. What do you mean what a my attire?
- 32:24We? Historically, Amanda, I'm a pants and a shirt guy.
- 32:28Are you? Yeah? You no tie? I don't know. Do people
- 32:32even do in person job interviews any morning? You know, yes, totally.
- 32:36And even then if you're not, you should still be dressed up,
- 32:37at least from the bottom up. I'd recommend that at minimum
