- 0:30Speaker 2: Good morning. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Candace Lompat is here. Producer Pooh is here. Just pure
- 0:35Speaker 5: chaos this morning, Candace.
- 0:37Speaker 6: Absolute chaos I walked into.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I had to see Pooh on a ladder before noon.
- 0:42Speaker 5: I don't want to see Pooh on a ladder. By
- 0:44Speaker 5: the way, Pooh, it looks so funny on a ladder.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 2: It was a stubby ladder. The ladder only had like
- 0:50Speaker 2: two steps. The ladder he brought in.
- 0:52Speaker 7: It was like a step ladder.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Trying to fix the lights because, you know, like if
- 0:55Speaker 5: you're used to something and you walk into your office
- 0:57Speaker 5: and it's different.
- 0:58Speaker 6: Right.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Everything's just like weird. It feels weird.
- 1:01Speaker 5: The lights are so weird in the studio this morning.
- 1:04Speaker 5: So Pooh was trying to fix them, but him on
- 1:05Speaker 5: a ladder just cracked me up.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I don't know why. So.
- 1:08Speaker 6: such a cute little ladder it looks like a legit
- 1:11Speaker 6: ladder it's not like.
- 1:12Speaker 7: A step stool step stool but.
- 1:13Speaker 6: Looks like a real ladder but only has one step
- 1:16Speaker 6: it looks like it's gonna be a massively industrial ladder
- 1:19Speaker 6: and there's a step on it it's a i think
- 1:21Speaker 6: i can't ladder you gotta.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Go see it yeah i'll put it on my story
- 1:25Speaker 5: At Billy on the radio. At Billy on the radio. Candace,
- 1:28Speaker 5: how are you?
- 1:28Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good. I'm here.
- 1:30Speaker 7: It's Monday.
- 1:30Speaker 6: I just feel like I have the brain fog today.
- 1:33Speaker 6: And then with the lights, everything just feels chaotic. So
- 1:35Speaker 6: be patient with me today.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I will.
- 1:37Speaker 6: But I had a good weekend. I had a good
- 1:38Speaker 6: time in Fort Worth on Friday night.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 6: We had a delicious dinner at the Cattlemen's Club.
- 1:45Speaker 7: Good. Which was very cool. We found out pretty much
- 1:48Speaker 7: at the end of our dinner that Taylor Sheridan's wife
- 1:50Speaker 7: was there the whole time.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:52Speaker 7: Sitting across the way from us.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 1:54Speaker 7: Yeah, I wish I had known.
- 1:55Speaker 6: I guess she was in the bathroom at the same
- 1:57Speaker 6: time as me because there was a girl that came
- 1:58Speaker 6: up and said, cute outfit, and they were together.
- 2:01Speaker 7: I had no idea.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Oh.
- 2:02Speaker 6: But that girl and I exchanged info at the end
- 2:04Speaker 6: of the night because we have some things in common.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Good. Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Oh, look at you. Candace getting more numbers than Poo
- 2:09Speaker 2: and I.
- 2:11Speaker 7: You guys would have liked.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Her, too.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Super cute girl from Oklahoma. She was sweet.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Good.
- 2:19Speaker 7: But yeah, we had a good time.
- 2:20Speaker 6: We actually went out after dinner to a place because
- 2:23Speaker 6: our friends wanted to go to.
- 2:24Speaker 7: Actually, Chris from.
- 2:25Speaker 6: The Aesthetic Society, who you guys know, was with us.
- 2:28Speaker 7: She was down to go out in Fort Worth. Yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 7: so I found out about a couple new spots.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Where'd you go?
- 2:34Speaker 6: I don't even know what it was called, but it
- 2:35Speaker 6: was outside. It was like this giant patio. I couldn't
- 2:38Speaker 6: tell you what it was called.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Somebody was drinking. Good for you. Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 7: I had one or two.
- 2:41Speaker 5: You didn't post a picture of your outfit in front
- 2:43Speaker 5: of the drover.
- 2:43Speaker 7: Well, no, we didn't go down to the drover. We
- 2:46Speaker 7: got close.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Did you even go to Fort Worth, ladies, and get
- 2:48Speaker 2: a picture in front of the drover?
- 2:50Speaker 6: Well, you couldn't take pictures inside the restaurant, even though
- 2:54Speaker 6: we took one before we found out that you couldn't
- 2:56Speaker 6: take pictures inside. So hopefully Chris will send me that
- 2:58Speaker 6: one later today.
- 2:59Speaker 2: No, I get it. Sometimes I go to fancy restaurants, too.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I've got a member there, a friend of
- 3:04Speaker 6: ours is.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Last time I was at Applebee's, they were like, hey,
- 3:06Speaker 5: no pics. We don't want everybody to know about this
- 3:09Speaker 5: place and what goes on inside.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Right. And I was like, really? They're like, yeah, no.
- 3:13Speaker 2: $ 5 margarita? Yeah. No, $ 5. More like $ 1. Yeah. They're like, sir,
- 3:17Speaker 2: no pigs. Okay.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, no. Okay. I apologize.
- 3:21Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I'm putting my camera away. Good. I'm glad you had
- 3:23Speaker 2: a good time.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I did post a picture of my boots, though. So
- 3:26Speaker 7: shout out to Boot Barn.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Good.
- 3:27Speaker 7: Got a good deal on some boots.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Oh, you went to Boot Barn. Okay.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Producer Poo is here. Barely. What's up, Poo?
- 3:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I want to say what's up to everybody in Fort
- 3:34Speaker 2: Worth because I was there Friday. I ended up.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That's right.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Pickup line or whatever, and I got a surprise for
- 3:40Speaker 2: Billy from Miss Ashley. She told me to give it
- 3:42Speaker 2: to you when I got here today. Oh, Miss Ashley.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Thank you, Miss Ashley. She says she knows it's your birthday.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Oh, tomorrow.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Coming up tomorrow. She got me some peach rings candy. Oh,
- 3:53Speaker 2: she got me a can opener.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Tomorrow.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Miss Ashley, thank you so much. That's awesome.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Because I have my can of beans here, but I
- 4:03Speaker 5: had no can opener to eat them with.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:04Speaker 2: She was like, poor Billy. He has to eat those beans.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Those are her favorite beans, too.
- 4:08Speaker 7: That's so sweet.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And a Smoothie King gift card and a card. Oh,
- 4:12Speaker 2: thank you, Miss Ashley.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Aw, Ashley.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Thank you. I love Ashley's. Yeah. That's the nicest thing ever.
- 4:17Speaker 2: But I had a good time there. Good. Nice, boo.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I was having a rough morning, but Miss Ashley just
- 4:23Speaker 2: changed it. I figured it would.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Good.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Well, because I got a pimple patch on.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Where?
- 4:27Speaker 4: What?
- 4:28Speaker 2: You see my pimple patch?
- 4:29Speaker 7: Oh, no, I can't see it.
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, I can't see it.
- 4:31Speaker 7: Do you have an extra? Because I need one, too.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah, just blend it in. Let me get you, girl.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I got you. Yeah, I need one, too.
- 4:36Speaker 5: I don't know what's going on, but I woke up,
- 4:38Speaker 5: and it was like, happy birthday tomorrow, and I got
- 4:40Speaker 5: a new friend.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Aw.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Mine looks like a little security camera right here. Where's yours?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Right here. I don't see it. I have one, too, though.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I eat cheese, though. Are we hitting puberty? Yeah.
- 4:53Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 4:56Speaker 4: Kid in the Morning.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:00Speaker 5: By the way, a chance at those Usher and Chris
- 5:02Speaker 5: Brown tickets coming up next.
- 5:04Speaker 2: So, yeah, get ready for that. And it's a shot
- 5:06Speaker 2: to be on the VIP riser, too.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Nice.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Which I don't know if you know about the VIP
- 5:09Speaker 2: riser at this show.
- 5:10Speaker 7: Well, he comes through that area, right?
- 5:11Speaker 2: Oh, does he come through? Yeah, he does.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Usher will hop up on you. Chris Brown gets
- 5:17Speaker 2: on you.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I know. Who's trying to get a seat? No, no,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 5:21Speaker 5: So if you want to win, there's so many chances,
- 5:24Speaker 5: so many chances to win a shot coming up next.
- 5:26Speaker 2: We're going to do it all day on the 10s. Candace,
- 5:27Speaker 2: what's up?
- 5:28Speaker 6: Well, 15 people are believed to be missing after several
- 5:31Speaker 6: flash floods hit parts of Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday.
- 5:34Speaker 6: At least 62 people were also forced to evacuate. But
- 5:38Speaker 6: those search efforts continued yesterday. Officials say the number of
- 5:41Speaker 6: missing could change, unfortunately, but several were Popular trails, campgrounds
- 5:46Speaker 6: and other areas are now closed indefinitely. More heavy rain
- 5:49Speaker 6: and thunderstorms are possible there today.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Here at home, though, another hot week. Not a record-breaking
- 5:55Speaker 7: hot week.
- 5:57Speaker 6: We are going to get up to 100 today, but
- 5:58Speaker 6: then by midweek, we get closer to what we should
- 6:00Speaker 6: be this time of year, which is about 94 degrees. Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 6: we do have some low rain chances, though, in the forecast.
- 6:07Speaker 6: So everyone just cross your fingers. Yeah, this is because
- 6:10Speaker 6: of that tropical depression that's forming in the Gulf. It
- 6:13Speaker 6: could bring some rain to our south and eastern areas.
- 6:15Speaker 7: But yeah, please, I'm just like, cross your fingers, cross
- 6:19Speaker 7: your toes.
- 6:19Speaker 2: They're saying maybe Wednesday and Thursday, possibly.
- 6:21Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, it's a 10 to 20 percent chance.
- 6:24Speaker 7: But I mean, we'll take anything at this point.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, just the fact that it's going to
- 6:27Speaker 2: be in the 90s is better than over 100.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Yeah, it's interesting how much better, you know, 99.
- 6:32Speaker 7: Felt versus 105.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Way better. Yes.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Guys, Tom Cruise is officially making a Days of Thunder sequel.
- 6:40Speaker 6: So he's going to be back as his character, Cole Trickle.
- 6:43Speaker 6: He'll be joined by Anne Hathaway, who's going to play
- 6:45Speaker 6: the team owner and engineer. Very excited about this movie.
- 6:50Speaker 6: You saw Days of Thunder, right?
- 6:51Speaker 2: No.
- 6:51Speaker 3: No?
- 6:52Speaker 2: You didn't back in the day with Nicole Kidman? What's
- 6:55Speaker 2: it about? Planes? No. Come on.
- 6:58Speaker 3: No.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Are you serious? Top Gun. I've never seen it.
- 7:00Speaker 3: No.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Days of Thunder. Oh, Days of Thunder.
- 7:02Speaker 7: NASCAR movie.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah, NASCAR. No. Okay.
- 7:05Speaker 7: Well, you got to see it before the new one
- 7:07Speaker 7: comes out.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I've heard of it. I thought Mel Gibson was in it.
- 7:10Speaker 7: Mel Gibson. You know, it's funny, though.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Randy Quaid, who was in the original movie, he's been
- 7:18Speaker 6: super vocal online about all this, saying, you know, if
- 7:21Speaker 6: he was in control of a real sequel worth watching
- 7:24Speaker 6: would be Tom and Nicole on screen again.
- 7:27Speaker 7: He said, we don't need a new girl. We need
- 7:28Speaker 7: a new race car.
- 7:29Speaker 6: And then he threw out the fact that Anne Hathaway
- 7:31Speaker 6: is pregnant, which was just really insulting because he should
- 7:35Speaker 6: know how long it takes to film a movie and
- 7:37Speaker 6: how long a pregnancy lasts.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:39Speaker 7: They even addressed it in the teaser. You know, she's like,
- 7:41Speaker 7: I'm going to have this baby and then we're going
- 7:43Speaker 7: to make this movie. Oh, duh.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Well, yeah. Even with even if she was pregnant, there's CGI. Yeah.
- 7:48Speaker 7: But also, who cares?
- 7:49Speaker 6: Maybe her character was pregnant in the movie.
- 7:51Speaker 7: I mean, who knows?
- 7:52Speaker 2: You don't know what's going on.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 7: He was just barking online about it. But like she can.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Still get in the plane pregnant.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Or the race car.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Or the race team.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Oh, she owns it. Yeah. Listen, I'm the worst with movies.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I told you.
- 8:05Speaker 7: Man, you got to watch it.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Before 2028, because that's when this one's coming out.
- 8:09Speaker 7: So you have plenty of lead time.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I'll try.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I'll try. All right.
- 8:12Speaker 7: Anyways, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Got another shot at these Usher and Chris Brown tickets.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Coming up, we'll do it on the 10s pretty much
- 8:20Speaker 5: every hour, all day.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So if you want to win.
- 8:23Speaker 5: And you're going to be putting the running to be
- 8:25Speaker 5: on the VIP riser, too.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Pretty much gets you, I don't know, could get you
- 8:29Speaker 2: a lap dance from us.
- 8:30Speaker 7: Is that what's going on on the risers?
- 8:32Speaker 2: Or Chris Brown. Yes. Wow.
- 8:34Speaker 5: Yeah, it's Mix 102.9. Well, that's what I'm saying. Remember,
- 8:37Speaker 5: you know, you see all these people getting divorces over it.
- 8:40Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Well, my wife went up there and Chris Brown, I
- 8:44Speaker 2: don't know, got on her and all this stuff.
- 8:46Speaker 7: Well, that was the girl that was upset, right? Because
- 8:47Speaker 7: she was there for Chris Brown and she got ushers.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 5: I know.
- 8:51Speaker 7: She was big mad.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Exactly. That's like, yeah. Got it. Which is a weird
- 8:55Speaker 2: thing to be mad about, I guess. Yeah. It's still Usher.
- 8:58Speaker 5: It's not like I went out there and started giving
- 9:00Speaker 5: you a laugh.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Weird. A chance to win.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Coming up, we got a $ 250 gift card to Living
- 9:06Speaker 5: Spaces if you want to go.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Who's this? This is Dana. What's up, Dana? How are you?
- 9:11Speaker 8: I'm great.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Good. Well, guess what? You're calling number one. Yay, Dana!
- 9:15Speaker 8: Fantastic.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Congratulations. Where are you from? I am from Boyd. Boyd. Boyd. Well,
- 9:23Speaker 2: that's awesome. How was your weekend?
- 9:24Speaker 6: It was great.
- 9:26Speaker 7: Kept the green kids, went bowling, did all the fun things.
- 9:30Speaker 2: You know what? I want to go bowling so bad,
- 9:32Speaker 2: but nobody ever wants to bowl with me.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Why?
- 9:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:35Speaker 7: You haven't asked us because we would.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you haven't asked us.
- 9:38Speaker 7: We love bowling.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Okay, well, you guys want to go bowling?
- 9:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 2: All right, well, we'll go bowling, I guess. Can I
- 9:42Speaker 2: make an event? I can bowl with my left hand.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Don't cheat this time, though. No, I never cheat.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Hey, Dana, thank you so much. We appreciate you listening.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Have a great day. Stay right there so we can
- 9:51Speaker 5: get you this gift card.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Great.
- 9:52Speaker 8: Thank you so much.
- 9:53Speaker 2: How would I even cheat bowling?
- 9:54Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a good question.
- 9:55Speaker 2: How would I ever cheat? I don't know, man. I
- 9:57Speaker 2: go down there and what do I blow the pins down?
- 10:01Speaker 2: How do I cheat?
- 10:02Speaker 6: You're one of those people that stomps on the ground
- 10:04Speaker 6: when they finish.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I'm not that heavy.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Well, you know people do that.
- 10:08Speaker 2: He goes way past the line and just, no, I don't.
- 10:11Speaker 2: All right, real or fake news? No, I don't. I'd
- 10:14Speaker 2: suck either way. But I will bet you that I
- 10:18Speaker 2: would be you, Pooh. I know you would. You know,
- 10:19Speaker 2: I get competitive with Pooh. Oh, yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 5: And that's what brothers do. All right, I'm going to
- 10:23Speaker 5: give you three stories. Real or fake news starts right now.
- 10:26Speaker 5: You got to pick the fake story out of the three. Candace,
- 10:28Speaker 5: you ready?
- 10:28Speaker 3: I'm ready.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Pooh, you ready? I'm ready. Headline number one. Couple divorces
- 10:33Speaker 2: after husband adjusts thermostat to 74 degrees without consulting wife.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Couple divorces after husband adjusts thermostat to 74 degrees without
- 10:45Speaker 2: consulting wife. Oh, 74 degrees. Who does that? Oh, that's
- 10:50Speaker 2: a sweaty mess.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 2: No, I'd be like 67. Yeah. Whoa. All right. Headline
- 10:56Speaker 2: number two. Man winds up in hospital after super gluing
- 11:00Speaker 2: his urethra. What? Oh, come on, bro.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Man winds up in hospital after super gluing his urethra.
- 11:08Speaker 3: No.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:09Speaker 7: What?
- 11:09Speaker 2: You know what that is, right, bro? Yes, I do. God.
- 11:12Speaker 2: His urethra. Franklin.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Headline number three.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Man gets jail time for using robot vacuum to record
- 11:23Speaker 5: wife cheating.
- 11:25Speaker 3: What?
- 11:26Speaker 5: Man gets jail time for using robot vacuum to record
- 11:30Speaker 5: wife cheating.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Okay. Three headlines right there. Three of them, Candace. One, two, three.
- 11:36Speaker 5: You got to tell me which one is the fake story.
- 11:39Speaker 5: You can guess first, or it's a Monday. It's a
- 11:41Speaker 5: rough one.
- 11:41Speaker 2: You can pass it to Clarence, a.k.a. La Poo Poo.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 7: It is a rough Monday. I'm passing it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Pass it. Pass it to Poo.
- 11:47Speaker 7: I got brain fog.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Go first, Poo.
- 11:48Speaker 2: All right, Poo. Which one do you think is the
- 11:50Speaker 2: fake story? I'm going to go with that first story
- 11:52Speaker 2: about getting a divorce over the thermostat. I don't think
- 11:55Speaker 2: that's true. You don't think that's true? No. Okay. You
- 11:58Speaker 2: want to lock that in? Lock me in. Lock it in.
- 12:01Speaker 2: You are officially locked in. Candice Lopez, which one do
- 12:04Speaker 2: you think is the fake story?
- 12:05Speaker 7: Oh, these are awful.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Lock me in for the super glue story.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Okay, you don't think there's a guy out there super
- 12:11Speaker 2: gluing his urethra?
- 12:12Speaker 4: No.
- 12:13Speaker 7: Absolutely not.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Okay, let's lock that in. It is officially locked in.
- 12:19Speaker 5: And the winner today is.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Producer Pooh. Yay!
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yay!
- 12:32Speaker 2: Good job, Pooh. Starting off the weekend or week with
- 12:35Speaker 2: a win.
- 12:35Speaker 7: So the other stories are real?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yes, the other stories are real. Which one do you
- 12:39Speaker 2: want first, Candice? It's a choose-your-own-adventure.
- 12:41Speaker 7: Give me the super glue story. Get it over with.
- 12:44Speaker 2: All right. I was hoping you'd say that.
- 12:46Speaker 5: A man winds up in the hospital after he super
- 12:48Speaker 5: glues his urethra shut.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Never a good idea, by the way.
- 12:55Speaker 5: A 41-year-old man in Iran landed in the hospital after
- 12:58Speaker 5: trying an extremely risky home treatment for bladder control problems.
- 13:03Speaker 2: After dealing with just, you know, issues for a month.
- 13:06Speaker 5: He spent two weeks putting super glue into his urethra
- 13:10Speaker 5: in hopes of stopping the leak.
- 13:12Speaker 2: No!
- 13:14Speaker 5: It seemed to work at first, but within days he
- 13:16Speaker 5: developed a burning sensation and a weaker stream. And eventually
- 13:23Speaker 5: he could not urinate at all.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Which was not that surprising considering that he's super glued
- 13:30Speaker 5: his urethra.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You can't do that to your urethra, frankly. You've got
- 13:37Speaker 2: to leave that alone. You can't do that.
- 13:39Speaker 7: Definitely leave it alone.
- 13:40Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 13:40Speaker 5: Doctors discovered that he had like, you know, they check
- 13:44Speaker 5: things out down there.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Yeah. And they're like, what is this hard piece of
- 13:47Speaker 2: stuff going on?
- 13:49Speaker 3: Oh.
- 13:49Speaker 2: And he's like, oh.
- 13:51Speaker 5: I don't have insurance, so I just try to fix
- 13:53Speaker 5: it myself.
- 13:54Speaker 7: Stop it.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Oh, he didn't say that.
- 13:55Speaker 3: He DIY'd it? Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 7: You can't do that.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I guess Chip and Joanna Gaines did this in an episode,
- 14:01Speaker 2: and he saw it.
- 14:02Speaker 3: No.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Flip this urethra?
- 14:05Speaker 3: No.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Oh, this is sad.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Well, the good news is he's okay.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Oh, good.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he's fine.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Good.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Nothing happened. I mean, it happened, but he's okay.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Good.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Still works.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Good.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Everything's okay, kids. All right.
- 14:19Speaker 7: All right.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Now let's talk about this story. Man, yeah, such a
- 14:23Speaker 2: happy story.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Man gets jail time after using his robot vacuum to
- 14:28Speaker 5: record his wife cheating.
- 14:30Speaker 2: What? How?
- 14:32Speaker 5: A man in Taiwan discovered his wife was cheating after
- 14:34Speaker 5: remotely turning on the camera of their robot vacuum. But
- 14:39Speaker 5: recording what he saw eventually landed him in jail. The
- 14:42Speaker 5: man had already become suspicious after finding an unfamiliar toothbrush
- 14:46Speaker 5: at a vacation home.
- 14:48Speaker 2: And seen another man on security footage. So he was like,
- 14:51Speaker 2: this doesn't sound right.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Months later, he turned on the vacuum, hoping to surprise
- 14:57Speaker 5: his wife by talking through it.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Oh. Only to see her with another man.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Oh.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah. So he kept recording, and then later he used
- 15:08Speaker 2: the video in court.
- 15:10Speaker 5: Winning just over $ 15, 000.
- 15:12Speaker 2: In compensation from his wife and from her lover. Guess
- 15:15Speaker 2: that happens in Taiwan.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Can't cheat.
- 15:16Speaker 2: You're like, oh, okay, well, I'm going to get some
- 15:18Speaker 2: money from you. His wife then.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Sued him for secretly recording a private activity.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Oh.
- 15:23Speaker 5: And a court ruled that being married did not cancel
- 15:26Speaker 5: her right to privacy, sentencing him to five months in jail.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Wow. And ordering him to pay $ 4, 700 in fines. Can
- 15:32Speaker 2: you imagine....
- 15:36Speaker 5: You're like, okay, first of all, I don't even know
- 15:39Speaker 5: about those robot vacuums. I know that I had a
- 15:41Speaker 5: Roomba once, but it bugged me, so I ended up
- 15:44Speaker 5: kicking it.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Oh, why?
- 15:45Speaker 2: And I was like, well, because it just really got frustrating.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Let's just take it back. Somebody bought it for a
- 15:51Speaker 2: birthday present. I think my mom did.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Oh. Because, you know, I have a dog. She said,
- 15:54Speaker 5: this will help with dog hair. And then the thing
- 15:56Speaker 5: would wake me up and hit my pinky toe one time.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Oh.
- 15:59Speaker 5: So I kicked it. Either way, I think I broke
- 16:03Speaker 5: my pinky doing it. The point is, I didn't know
- 16:07Speaker 5: they could record you and you could talk through it.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Those must be the new ones.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Why do we need that feature?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Why not?
- 16:13Speaker 5: I want to see what's going on in my house.
- 16:14Speaker 5: That's the only reason I get another one.
- 16:16Speaker 7: From the floor view?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yes. I want to roll around. I see what my
- 16:21Speaker 2: dog's doing. Don't you want to see that?
- 16:23Speaker 7: Yeah, but not from the floor. Not from a robot vacuum.
- 16:26Speaker 2: You're so weird. Candace doesn't even want cameras in her house.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I want cameras everywhere.
- 16:29Speaker 3: No.
- 16:30Speaker 6: I mean, I don't mind, but I don't need it.
- 16:32Speaker 2: If I'm not there, I want to just see what's
- 16:33Speaker 2: going on.
- 16:33Speaker 7: I know what my dog's doing. He's sleeping, like always.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Well, either way, this guy, you know, he's like trying
- 16:38Speaker 5: to be nice. He's going to say something cutesy to
- 16:40Speaker 5: his wife on the camera.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Hey, babe. Have a good morning, babe. And there she is,
- 16:45Speaker 2: sitting there in the living room with another man's urethra.
- 16:47Speaker 3: No! No!
- 16:52Speaker 5: You guys got a little surprise for me, which I'm
- 16:54Speaker 5: a little bit nervous about because I.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Don't love surprises.
- 16:56Speaker 7: I know, but you'll love this one.
- 16:58Speaker 5: All right, we'll do that at 720. Just giving you
- 17:00Speaker 5: a heads up now. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid,
- 17:03Speaker 5: Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. I just am weird about surprises
- 17:05Speaker 5: because I just don't know what I'm walking into or
- 17:09Speaker 5: if it's alive, it's something that's coming in.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Is it something, you know, you're bringing? I don't know.
- 17:14Speaker 4: You'll see.
- 17:14Speaker 2: That's why I say I don't want surprise birthday parties.
- 17:16Speaker 2: It's on his hates list. You know that. I know.
- 17:18Speaker 7: He hates surprises. This is a good one, though.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I promise. Okay. I like the thought behind them. Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I just don't like.
- 17:24Speaker 7: I'll tell you. No one's going to be here that's
- 17:25Speaker 7: going to be weird for you.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Okay. Good.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 2: All right. Yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I don't want like.
- 17:28Speaker 7: Or on the phone.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Surprise. Because we did that once.
- 17:31Speaker 3: You didn't like it. Oh, yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 4: He didn't.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Or something.
- 17:32Speaker 7: We did something for you. You didn't like it.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't like a lot of things. Sorry.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'm grumpy on Mondays. 720. Please tell me you saw
- 17:41Speaker 2: this story.
- 17:42Speaker 5: And I don't mean to laugh about it, but it's
- 17:44Speaker 5: just so unreal that it's hard to believe it actually
- 17:47Speaker 5: happened where this guy pretended to be a San Francisco
- 17:50Speaker 5: 49er to scam all these women to the point where
- 17:56Speaker 5: this guy scammed.
- 17:58Speaker 2: So many women.
- 17:59Speaker 5: He got about $ 1.
- 18:00Speaker 2: 3 million.
- 18:02Speaker 7: Oh, my gosh.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Out of this.
- 18:05Speaker 6: When I saw a picture of him, I was like, okay,
- 18:08Speaker 6: look at this guy's physique.
- 18:10Speaker 7: You're telling me he's an NFL player?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Dang. Well, seriously. I mean, he's skinny. Yeah, he wasn't
- 18:16Speaker 2: built at all. But you could be a skinny wide receiver.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I mean, they are skinny.
- 18:20Speaker 7: Yeah, but you have some muscle tone.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Yeah, he didn't really have a lot of muscle. The
- 18:24Speaker 5: funniest part to me is the videos that this guy
- 18:27Speaker 5: was posted. He goes by Dajon Love, and I just
- 18:29Speaker 5: actually posted it on my story at Billy on the Radio.
- 18:33Speaker 5: So the guy was posting videos on his Instagram of
- 18:37Speaker 5: him on the beach with just a 49ers helmet running routes.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Like run with his friend passing him the ball.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:46Speaker 2: And I'm thinking to myself, who are these friends that
- 18:48Speaker 2: are trying to get in on this?
- 18:49Speaker 7: Right, that set up cones on the beach for you
- 18:52Speaker 7: to run routes around.
- 18:54Speaker 2: It is the cringy.
- 18:55Speaker 5: But then there's even a video, a fake video of
- 18:57Speaker 5: him pretending to sign with the 49ers.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 5: And his friends talking to him. He's like, yeah, so
- 19:02Speaker 5: who'd you go with? And he's like trying to play
- 19:04Speaker 5: it cool. And he's got like an iced out watch.
- 19:06Speaker 5: And he's like, yeah, you know, 49ers, man. Now you're gang.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah. He was like, how does it feel?
- 19:11Speaker 7: It was so fake.
- 19:14Speaker 2: It is so cringy. Yeah. Watching this guy pretend. But he...
- 19:18Speaker 2: has been doing this for years and getting away with it.
- 19:22Speaker 2: That's wild.
- 19:23Speaker 5: To the point where now the FBI, you know, I mean,
- 19:26Speaker 5: it's a full-blown investigation.
- 19:29Speaker 2: They arrested two people.
- 19:30Speaker 5: So not just him. They arrested somebody else that was,
- 19:33Speaker 5: you know, running a scheme.
- 19:34Speaker 7: Yeah, this is a major fraud.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it is. But at the same time, there's
- 19:38Speaker 2: part of me that goes, What girl has fallen for this?
- 19:41Speaker 2: That's what I want to know. How can you be
- 19:43Speaker 2: that dumb? But you know what?
- 19:45Speaker 5: I don't know because you say that, but then there
- 19:48Speaker 5: are scam artists that do things that you thought.
- 19:50Speaker 2: You think, oh, there's no way I'd ever fall for that.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:52Speaker 2: And all of a sudden, you're falling for it. Right.
- 19:55Speaker 5: This guy wasn't just begging for money. It was an
- 19:59Speaker 5: elaborate scheme basically saying, hey, I have all this money.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Here's a copy of my bank account. I got millions
- 20:05Speaker 5: in here. I'm making so much money on the side
- 20:07Speaker 5: doing this real estate stuff.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 2: And they're like, really? He's like, yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 5: So if you want in, let me know, girl. I mean,
- 20:13Speaker 5: you're my girl. But of course, he's doing this to
- 20:15Speaker 5: be also romantic and weird.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:17Speaker 7: He was on Hinge, Bumble and Tinder.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Like what? You know, what are you doing?
- 20:23Speaker 5: And he's like renting cars to pretend they're his going
- 20:27Speaker 5: into open houses, you know, in mansions and then taking
- 20:30Speaker 5: videos of him while he's in the open house.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Saying it's his mansion.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Wild.
- 20:35Speaker 2: And these girls are like, oh, my God, Dajon Love. Yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 2: I like him. It's not even his real name.
- 20:39Speaker 3: No.
- 20:40Speaker 2: All you have to do is Google.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:42Speaker 2: What are you doing?
- 20:43Speaker 7: Look at the roster.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:45Speaker 6: I hope there's a Netflix special about this because I
- 20:47Speaker 6: want to watch it so bad.
- 20:48Speaker 2: There has to be. Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 5: And then when girls would Google him, he'd be like, well,
- 20:53Speaker 5: you know, it's kind of complicated, see, because.
- 20:57Speaker 2: If you Google me.
- 20:59Speaker 5: I don't come up in the 49ers Google because at
- 21:01Speaker 5: the same time, we don't want the Cowboys to know
- 21:04Speaker 5: that I signed with the 49ers.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, everybody can't know I just made the roster.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Because in the 49ers, you know, I'm one of their
- 21:14Speaker 5: secret weapons. So secret that I'm not on the team.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Can you believe that? If you've ever been scammed, though,
- 21:23Speaker 2: and I'm not even judging.
- 21:24Speaker 5: If you've ever been scammed and lied to, tell me
- 21:26Speaker 5: what the guy did because I want to call him
- 21:28Speaker 5: out and I want to hear. Maybe he lied about
- 21:30Speaker 5: being a football player. Maybe he lied about something else.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Let me know.
- 21:34Speaker 2: 833-787-1029.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Because I'm not making fun of you, but I mean,
- 21:38Speaker 5: if I see Pooh out here saying that he's a
- 21:40Speaker 5: Dallas cowboy, it could happen.
- 21:42Speaker 6: Sharing bank statements from World Bank.
- 21:45Speaker 7: World Bank isn't even a thing.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Pooh's outside here off the toy running routes with a
- 21:49Speaker 2: helmet on.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 21:52Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 21:55Speaker 4: Kid in the Morning.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we're doing it around the 10s pretty much all day,
- 22:00Speaker 2: every hour. If you want these Chris Brown and Usher tickets,
- 22:03Speaker 2: make it happen. Plus a shot to get on that
- 22:05Speaker 2: VIP riser.
- 22:06Speaker 6: Nice.
- 22:07Speaker 2: So, yeah, you never know what's going to happen on
- 22:09Speaker 2: that riser.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Chris Brown, you might get a divorce after that.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 22:14Speaker 5: He might hop up on you, and you just never know.
- 22:17Speaker 5: So listen when we'll do it next. Candace Lopez, what
- 22:19Speaker 5: is going on?
- 22:20Speaker 6: Well, more than 1.2 million Texas voters are on the
- 22:23Speaker 6: state's voter suspense list, which means it's a good time
- 22:25Speaker 6: to check your voter registration status before.
- 22:28Speaker 7: The November election.
- 22:29Speaker 6: So this doesn't mean your voter registration has been canceled,
- 22:32Speaker 6: but you may need to make some updates online.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Online.
- 22:35Speaker 6: I saw this going viral over the weekend, but the
- 22:37Speaker 6: deadline to register or update your info is October 5th.
- 22:41Speaker 6: Election day is November 3rd, but that website, you can
- 22:44Speaker 6: get more info on votetexas.gov. And the governor of Tennessee
- 22:49Speaker 6: says he intends to rename Nashville airport in honor of
- 22:52Speaker 6: Dolly Parton. The petition to make this happen that started
- 22:56Speaker 6: last year got a huge push after her passing. This
- 22:59Speaker 6: is going to be officially discussed at a city meeting
- 23:02Speaker 6: next month. But I guess someone was also flying a
- 23:05Speaker 6: banner around Nashville on Friday that had the website for
- 23:09Speaker 6: the petition. But yeah, good to see that they're actually
- 23:12Speaker 6: going to move forward with that.
- 23:14Speaker 5: I hope it happens and it doesn't take like years
- 23:15Speaker 5: to happen.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, like just make it work.
- 23:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel like this would be a pretty quick thing.
- 23:21Speaker 6: But then you think about, you know, the name of
- 23:23Speaker 6: the airport before it was named after a World War
- 23:26Speaker 6: Army vet.
- 23:27Speaker 7: Who established the airfield.
- 23:29Speaker 6: And it's like, well, how do they honor that man
- 23:31Speaker 6: as well? You know, because BNA was named after him.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't either. Feel bad.
- 23:37Speaker 6: I know I was super excited about it, but I
- 23:38Speaker 6: thought how sad for his family. We just, you know,
- 23:40Speaker 6: erase that and put Dolly on it. But hopefully they'll
- 23:44Speaker 6: figure out a way to honor him still.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Maybe name a highway after him or something. Yeah, or
- 23:48Speaker 2: give him a terminal or something. You know how we
- 23:50Speaker 2: have A, B, C? Yeah, that's true. Terminal B, A. Yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Very terminal. We start naming the terminals. I'm going to
- 23:57Speaker 2: be so confused.
- 23:59Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true because I need to go in alphabetical
- 24:01Speaker 6: order to figure this stuff out.
- 24:04Speaker 2: We're going to sponsor terminal names.
- 24:06Speaker 7: I'm going to Terminal T-Mobile.
- 24:08Speaker 5: Hey, oh, Terminal T-Mobile. Oh, yeah, I'll go to that one.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Then we change it the next week. I mean, the
- 24:14Speaker 5: airports are confusing as it is.
- 24:15Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure.
- 24:16Speaker 5: Either way, Dolly needs to be respected and obviously paid
- 24:20Speaker 5: some tribute to her.
- 24:21Speaker 2: But so does that guy. So make it worth.
- 24:23Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 24:24Speaker 6: Guys, the Cowboys finalized their roster last night. By the way,
- 24:28Speaker 6: they did waive Shia's Pete. You know, he made NFL
- 24:31Speaker 6: history as the first Navajo Nation member in the league.
- 24:34Speaker 6: He had such a moment in Arizona. I was really
- 24:37Speaker 6: hoping this would work out. His agent says he should
- 24:40Speaker 6: get a chance to keep developing somewhere else this season.
- 24:43Speaker 7: So good luck to him. But the Cowboys open the season.
- 24:46Speaker 6: Sunday, September 13th against the Giants in New York.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:50Speaker 6: After that Arizona game, I thought this is good.
- 24:53Speaker 7: This is the leadership we need and the energy we need.
- 24:55Speaker 2: But. Even if it's just for morale, like leave him
- 24:58Speaker 2: on the team.
- 24:59Speaker 7: That's what I thought.
- 25:00Speaker 5: I mean, maybe he'll be on the practice squad, though, because,
- 25:01Speaker 5: I mean, if he's on the practice squad, he can,
- 25:03Speaker 5: you know, get to where he needs to be.
- 25:05Speaker 2: And, you know, he's still on the team. Practice squad
- 25:07Speaker 2: makes money. Yeah, they do.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Do they?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:09Speaker 6: It doesn't look like he's going to end up on
- 25:10Speaker 6: the practice squad as of now, but maybe that could change.
- 25:14Speaker 2: No, I don't know.
- 25:14Speaker 5: The rumor is that he got cut so we could
- 25:16Speaker 5: bring on the new sensation. Oh, Pujon Love. So you
- 25:22Speaker 5: heard about this guy.
- 25:23Speaker 7: You got to save budget for him.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You're right.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Yeah, well, yeah, this guy that faked being a San
- 25:27Speaker 5: Francisco 49er named Dajon Love.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah. There's the same guy running around here. I heard
- 25:32Speaker 2: his name is Pujon Love. Oh, is he pretty good?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Pretending to be a cowboy. That thing's supposed to be
- 25:38Speaker 2: on the low, Billy. Oh, I didn't know he was
- 25:41Speaker 2: in studio.
- 25:41Speaker 7: Is he taking donations?
- 25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, putting it out there. There he is. Pujon, what
- 25:45Speaker 2: do you run the 40 in again? I don't actually
- 25:47Speaker 2: run the 40. I don't actually run. I run the 15. Oh,
- 25:52Speaker 2: you're on the 15th. Yeah, because it's a quick start.
- 25:54Speaker 2: My bad. Easy finish. You know what I mean?
- 25:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a spurt. I'm actually about
- 25:58Speaker 2: to post a highlight reel of Pujon.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Oh.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to put it on our Instagram just
- 26:03Speaker 5: to show people what he's working with.
- 26:05Speaker 2: So give me a minute, but it'll be at Mix
- 26:06Speaker 2: 1029 FM. Yeah, I want you to know everybody co-signed
- 26:09Speaker 2: for me. You know what I'm saying?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Really?
- 26:11Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. For a car or? No, no. Former Cowboys
- 26:15Speaker 2: co-signed for Emmitt. Emmitt was like, dude.
- 26:17Speaker 7: All right, let's not throw Emmitt into this. The one
- 26:24Speaker 7: and only.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, true.
- 26:25Speaker 3: All right.
- 26:26Speaker 7: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 26:28Speaker 2: We're nervous.
- 26:34Speaker 5: We're about to do the banger on Mix 102.9. Plus,
- 26:37Speaker 5: we got Dirty Little Secret coming up next. It's Bailey
- 26:39Speaker 5: the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here.
- 26:42Speaker 5: But I've been wondering for now days what Candace Lopez
- 26:46Speaker 5: and Pooh have up their sleeves because Last week, they're like, oh,
- 26:49Speaker 5: we get a little birthday.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Surprise for you. They wouldn't tell me.
- 26:53Speaker 5: And that is dangerous because I'm a weirdo when it
- 26:55Speaker 5: comes to surprises.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I don't like them. I know.
- 26:58Speaker 7: They're on your hates list.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah. He hates them.
- 27:00Speaker 5: It doesn't mean that I don't hate. Like, I don't
- 27:02Speaker 5: hate the thought behind a nice surprise.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:04Speaker 2: But I have anxiety, and surprises give me anxiety.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 27:08Speaker 2: That's understandable.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Especially if I know about the surprise. If you just
- 27:10Speaker 5: surprise me, it's like, okay. But to say, like, I
- 27:14Speaker 5: have a surprise for you.
- 27:15Speaker 6: Well, that's why we want to tell you today so
- 27:17Speaker 6: that you have a little lead time and it's not like, surprise,
- 27:20Speaker 6: you're doing this right now.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Kind of thing. Doing this? Yeah. Tomorrow's my birthday.
- 27:25Speaker 7: Tomorrow's your birthday.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Why didn't you just want to do this tomorrow?
- 27:28Speaker 6: Well, because we know how you are with surprises, and
- 27:31Speaker 6: we need to give you some time to, like, practice,
- 27:34Speaker 6: maybe stretch.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Practice?
- 27:36Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You got to plan for this.
- 27:38Speaker 7: Figure out which shorts you're wearing, stuff like that.
- 27:40Speaker 2: What is going on? It's an outdoor activity building.
- 27:45Speaker 7: Kind of.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of. Kind of.
- 27:47Speaker 7: Do you want us to just tell you?
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yes, I want to know what's going on.
- 27:50Speaker 7: Well, something's going on Wednesday. Pooh, I want you to
- 27:53Speaker 7: tell him, actually.
- 27:54Speaker 8: Okay, hold on.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Do I need a drum roll? Oh, the computer doesn't
- 27:56Speaker 5: work right now. It's going to play drum roll, but
- 27:58Speaker 5: everything's frozen.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Thank you. Oh, there we go. What is going on?
- 28:03Speaker 2: All right, something's going on Wednesday. You're throwing out the
- 28:06Speaker 2: first pitch. At the Texas Rangers game versus the Athletics.
- 28:11Speaker 2: No way! You are doing it!
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yeah!
- 28:14Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 28:15Speaker 3: Yes!
- 28:16Speaker 2: Oh, my God!
- 28:16Speaker 7: The game's at 135.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 7: This is for real.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we were thinking, like, how can we surprise Billy?
- 28:22Speaker 2: Because he's always... He doesn't like surprises, but we had
- 28:25Speaker 2: to give him something that he... Oh, I'm so anxious now.
- 28:29Speaker 6: Yeah, we could have done it today, but today doesn't work.
- 28:32Speaker 7: So Wednesday.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Okay, I've never done that. I know. Okay, I am excited.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yay!
- 28:37Speaker 2: Okay, good. Well, thank you. I was worried about it.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Thank you to the Rangers.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 6: Yeah, and we have a bunch of tickets to give away, too.
- 28:44Speaker 6: So you figure out about how many tickets and when
- 28:46Speaker 6: you want to give them away.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Oh, we have tickets to give away?
- 28:48Speaker 7: Yeah, so people can come see you.
- 28:50Speaker 2: So the game's Wednesday.
- 28:51Speaker 7: 1.35 in the afternoon.
- 28:53Speaker 2: 1.35, yep. Who are they playing? The Oakland Athletics. Oh, God,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I'm so nervous now. Well, here's a problem, though. I
- 28:58Speaker 2: just thought about this. Why are you nervous? You used
- 29:00Speaker 2: to be backup for the Rangers way back in the day.
- 29:02Speaker 2: You remember? Yeah, I wish.
- 29:03Speaker 7: Yeah, you did that.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah, literally. Yeah. My hand's broken.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:09Speaker 6: Well, that's what I was wondering, because you're a lefty,
- 29:12Speaker 6: but your.
- 29:12Speaker 7: Right hand's broken.
- 29:14Speaker 5: I'm loving you guys. No, but here's the deal. I'm
- 29:16Speaker 5: a weirdo when it comes to the way I use
- 29:17Speaker 5: my hands.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Yeah. So I right left handed.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Right. Right.
- 29:22Speaker 2: But I throw a baseball right-handed.
- 29:24Speaker 7: That's your broken hand.
- 29:25Speaker 2: That's my broken hand.
- 29:25Speaker 7: Can you throw with your left hand?
- 29:27Speaker 2: I mean, I can, but I don't know if it's
- 29:28Speaker 2: going to be good.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I'm about to embarrass myself so bad.
- 29:32Speaker 7: No, that's what we told you today, so you have
- 29:33Speaker 7: some time to practice.
- 29:35Speaker 2: A couple of days. Did you tell, is it Tyler
- 29:37Speaker 2: over there? Cause we love Tyler. Yeah. So Tyler, did
- 29:39Speaker 2: you tell Tyler I have a broken hand? Uh, of course. No,
- 29:46Speaker 2: I figured you could just kick the ball down there.
- 29:48Speaker 7: I mean, they're giving you the opportunity.
- 29:50Speaker 2: We can't pass. I know. I listen. I'm so excited.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Secret with Billy the Kid in the Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 29:56Speaker 6: Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 29:59Speaker 2: If you got one, 833-787-1029. I could get the butterflies
- 30:02Speaker 2: in my stomach.
- 30:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I would, too.
- 30:03Speaker 5: We got to tell Tyler with the Rangers, hey, just
- 30:05Speaker 5: a heads up, he's going to be throwing opposite-handed.
- 30:07Speaker 2: He's going to be kicking the ball.
- 30:10Speaker 7: You got this.
- 30:11Speaker 2: All right, if you got a secret, let us know.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Dirty Little Secret is on right now, and you got one.
- 30:14Speaker 2: What's up?
- 30:15Speaker 8: So, this confession, my wife would... Absolutely kill me if
- 30:20Speaker 8: she ever found out. Uh-oh. But I tend to lie
- 30:26Speaker 8: about how bad my memory loss actually is.
- 30:29Speaker 2: You lie about your memory loss? Yeah. Okay. But you
- 30:35Speaker 2: do have memory loss? Tell us the situation.
- 30:39Speaker 8: Well, so a few years ago, I was in a
- 30:42Speaker 8: pretty serious car accident on the 35.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Oh, gosh.
- 30:46Speaker 8: So a guy fell asleep behind the wheel and rear-ended
- 30:49Speaker 8: me when I was coming home from work. I ended
- 30:51Speaker 8: up hospitalized with a pretty bad concussion. And afterwards, I
- 30:55Speaker 8: started dealing with some memory loss, specifically short-term. That part
- 31:00Speaker 8: is actually true.
- 31:01Speaker 2: So, well, that's scary. So you did have some memory
- 31:04Speaker 2: loss when you went to the doctor or whatever. They
- 31:07Speaker 2: figured that out?
- 31:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Well, I put, like, my secret in. I definitely use
- 31:14Speaker 1: it to my advantage.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 31:17Speaker 2: It's not funny. I don't mean to laugh. Oh. What
- 31:21Speaker 2: do you mean you use it?
- 31:23Speaker 7: I've heard of people doing this with hearing loss before.
- 31:25Speaker 3: What?
- 31:26Speaker 7: I've heard.
- 31:28Speaker 4: God.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Okay, sorry. I'm so immature.
- 31:33Speaker 7: So what do you do?
- 31:34Speaker 1: So you know what I'm talking about.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Exactly. I just picked it up, picked up on it.
- 31:38Speaker 2: So what do you, yeah, what exactly goes down? Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 8: So, like every other husband on the planet, sometimes I
- 31:44Speaker 8: forget things. And sometimes her wife asks me to pick
- 31:48Speaker 8: something up or do, like, a to-do list. And plans
- 31:51Speaker 8: she told me about. And I've actually forgotten our anniversary before.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:59Speaker 8: Sorry, babe.
- 31:59Speaker 2: It's not good. Yeah, it's not good. But you have
- 32:02Speaker 2: an issue.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 8: So, like, whatever she's upset, I kind of pull out the, like, babe,
- 32:08Speaker 8: you know my condition, and, you know, it's really hard
- 32:10Speaker 8: for me to remember certain things, and it pretty much works.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Oh. Oh, no. This is funny but not funny.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Well, yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 7: What is she going to say?
- 32:19Speaker 2: But you're not lying. Yeah, you can't come back to that. Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 2: You can't come back. Well, sorry, I have memory loss.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I got hit. Right.
- 32:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I mean, what do you want me to do? Yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you almost lost me. You almost lost me, and now
- 32:29Speaker 2: you're yelling at me?
- 32:30Speaker 7: You're going to throw that at her?
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Did you forget, wifey?
- 32:35Speaker 5: Did you forget you almost lost me, and now you're
- 32:37Speaker 5: yelling at me because I forgot every anniversary.
- 32:39Speaker 2: We've ever had?
- 32:40Speaker 7: Just the times I had to buy a gift.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I'm traumatized every time I go down 35, girl. The
- 32:44Speaker 2: thing about it is, though, is can't you just go, hey,
- 32:46Speaker 2: let me set that in my phone?
- 32:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:48Speaker 7: That's a good point.
- 32:53Speaker 5: But sometimes you forget that. If it's short-term memory loss,
- 32:55Speaker 5: as soon as it pops up, I forgot.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Okay. I already forgot. I think I have memory loss, too, sir. So,
- 33:01Speaker 2: you know what?
- 33:01Speaker 5: It is what it is. But she understands. She goes
- 33:05Speaker 5: with it, obviously. You're still together.
- 33:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I do forget. I forget things.
- 33:11Speaker 8: But, like, half the time when I forget something my
- 33:14Speaker 8: wife told me, it's not the conditions. It's just me
- 33:18Speaker 8: being an idiot.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 33:22Speaker 2: That's fair. Yeah, I've used it at work, too. Really?
- 33:25Speaker 7: How?
- 33:26Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, when I've forgotten to do something, it works.
- 33:28Speaker 2: I mean... Maybe that's what poo's suffering from, and we
- 33:32Speaker 2: don't know. That's probably, yeah. When we go out to eat,
- 33:34Speaker 2: sometimes I forget. You forget to bring your wallet every time? Yeah,
- 33:38Speaker 2: I legit, and it's short-term memory loss. I think yours
- 33:41Speaker 2: is more long-term. Okay, it's long-term. I don't know what
- 33:43Speaker 2: it is, but it's something. Well, sir, good for you.
- 33:48Speaker 2: I don't want to say good for you. I don't
- 33:49Speaker 2: know if I should advocate.
- 33:50Speaker 3: No.
- 33:51Speaker 2: And promote such behavior.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 7: Don't abuse this.
- 33:55Speaker 2: But do what you got to do. It's a superpower.
- 33:57Speaker 5: No.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It really is.
- 33:58Speaker 7: That's not fair.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Well, Candace, it's not his fault. He got hit on 35.
- 34:02Speaker 7: Well, I know, but we're happy he's okay.
- 34:05Speaker 2: He's not. Well. He's not okay. He's not okay.
- 34:09Speaker 7: He's playing his wife.
- 34:10Speaker 2: He is not okay. Maybe he forgot that he forgot.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:14Speaker 7: Okay.
- 34:17Speaker 2: And she forgot. Was she in the car when you
- 34:19Speaker 2: got hit or no? She was not. So she's not
- 34:21Speaker 2: her excuse. Or did you forget that she was in
- 34:23Speaker 2: the car?
- 34:24Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 34:25Speaker 2: There's a lot going on here.
- 34:26Speaker 7: I know.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Well, thank you, sir.
- 34:28Speaker 5: And I hope, in all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay.
- 34:31Speaker 5: And I hope your memory loss gets better. But you
- 34:33Speaker 5: don't have to tell her that. You already forgot.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Hey, thank you, sir.
- 34:41Speaker 7: He forgot we were here.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Who is this?
- 34:46Speaker 3: All right.
- 34:47Speaker 4: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 34:51Speaker 4: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 34:53Speaker 7: All rise.
- 34:54Speaker 5: For the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez, here she is. It's
- 34:57Speaker 5: Mix 102.9, Billy the Kid. Producer Pooh, Bailiff Pooh, is here.
- 35:01Speaker 5: And Your Honor, Judge Candace Lopez, here to solve your problems,
- 35:05Speaker 5: if you've got one, at Candace on air.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Hit her up on Instagram. By the way, a couple things.
- 35:10Speaker 2: If you want to see the.
- 35:11Speaker 5: Fake cowboy, not the fake 49er that was fooling all
- 35:16Speaker 5: these girls because there's another one. It was a 49er
- 35:18Speaker 5: and a cowboy fooling all these girls and women to
- 35:21Speaker 5: send him money saying he was a Dallas cowboy.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I just put him on our Instagram.
- 35:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Go look at Mix 1029 FM because do not be fooled, ladies.
- 35:30Speaker 2: He will get you. You'll send him millions of dollars.
- 35:33Speaker 7: Huge warning to the Metroplex.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Huge warning. His name is Pujon Love. Who John loves.
- 35:38Speaker 5: So just giving you a heads up, but go see
- 35:40Speaker 5: his picture and you can see him. We got training
- 35:42Speaker 5: video of him.
- 35:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Pretending to train on our Instagram. Yeah.
- 35:46Speaker 5: So also Chris Brown and usher tickets coming up. We'll
- 35:48Speaker 5: do that on the tens pretty much every hour, all
- 35:50Speaker 5: day and a chance to be on the VIP riser too.
- 35:53Speaker 5: And that was pretty much get you a chance to
- 35:55Speaker 5: make out with Chris Brown. Not for sure, but there's
- 35:58Speaker 5: a shot at least.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Okay. Welcome to Candace court.
- 36:02Speaker 3: All rise.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Here we go. Hey guys, I have a little situation
- 36:05Speaker 2: for Candace court. My boyfriend and I just moved in
- 36:08Speaker 2: together earlier this year, and we were really looking forward
- 36:11Speaker 2: to getting a dog together for a while. And guess what?
- 36:13Speaker 2: We finally did.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Yay.
- 36:15Speaker 2: We rescued the cutest little mutt. I love that.
- 36:19Speaker 5: He's three years old, and he was abandoned by a
- 36:22Speaker 5: family moving across the country.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Aw.
- 36:24Speaker 5: The only issue is my boyfriend wants to change his
- 36:27Speaker 5: name because Oliver happens to be my ex-fiance's name.
- 36:36Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 36:38Speaker 5: We got into the biggest fight because, I mean, come on,
- 36:41Speaker 5: you can't just change a dog's name when they're three
- 36:45Speaker 5: years old. How do you teach a dog to be
- 36:47Speaker 5: called something else? I just think it's a lot for
- 36:51Speaker 5: him to get a new home and a new name.
- 36:54Speaker 5: Am I wrong for just wanting to leave his name alone?
- 36:58Speaker 2: Help us out.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Okay, Candace Court, this is a tough one. It involves
- 37:03Speaker 5: a dog that just got rescued. First of all, it
- 37:05Speaker 5: was abandoned by a family.
- 37:06Speaker 7: Yeah, how sad.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Who does that? Yeah, it happens, unfortunately. I mean, how?
- 37:12Speaker 6: Yeah, I know.
- 37:13Speaker 5: I would not move before I left my dog, but
- 37:16Speaker 5: that's not the point. The point is, dog's name is Oliver,
- 37:19Speaker 5: great name, happens to be your ex-fiance's name.
- 37:22Speaker 2: New boyfriend is like grody.
- 37:24Speaker 6: Right yeah what do you do definitely grody look i
- 37:27Speaker 6: think you can change his name yeah he probably wants
- 37:30Speaker 6: to forget his old life anyways he probably wants a
- 37:32Speaker 6: new name and a new family that loves him.
- 37:35Speaker 2: You know yeah exactly but at the same time i
- 37:38Speaker 2: mean smart though this is hysterical to me because either
- 37:41Speaker 2: of you candace and producer poo both of you would
- 37:45Speaker 2: not be okay If you had a dog with a
- 37:49Speaker 2: new boo that was named after your ex.
- 37:52Speaker 7: No, I'm not okay. I'm giving it treats and I'm
- 37:54Speaker 7: staying positive. We're going to change his name.
- 37:56Speaker 5: But at the same time, you're not going to put
- 37:58Speaker 5: in the work to get, I know you two.
- 38:00Speaker 3: What?
- 38:00Speaker 2: You two are not going to put in the work.
- 38:02Speaker 7: Who maybe not, but I would for sure.
- 38:04Speaker 2: I'll be in the backyard. Let's go. Ew. Yeah. With snacks.
- 38:09Speaker 2: What are you going to change it to? And how
- 38:10Speaker 2: are you going to get the dog to change his name?
- 38:13Speaker 6: Well, we'll come up with whatever name that we like
- 38:15Speaker 6: together that is not Oliver.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I say you got to get over it. I say
- 38:19Speaker 2: this guy's got to get over it.
- 38:20Speaker 3: I know.
- 38:20Speaker 6: I'm giving him chicken if I got to give him
- 38:22Speaker 6: chicken every bite.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Yeah. No.
- 38:24Speaker 7: To train him.
- 38:24Speaker 2: You know what? This dog's been through enough. I'm actually
- 38:27Speaker 2: on her side.
- 38:27Speaker 7: Are you really?
- 38:28Speaker 2: I do. I think, you know what? Call him Ollie.
- 38:32Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I think that's too close.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Okay, well, you know what? Name something. Then call him
- 38:37Speaker 2: something close that's not it. Call him Smalliver. And he'll
- 38:40Speaker 2: still think you're saying Oliver. No, mm-mm.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I've given Brewster, like, so many nicknames
- 38:46Speaker 6: at this point, and he comes to all of them
- 38:47Speaker 6: because he loves them.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yeah, dogs will do that. For years. You don't even
- 38:51Speaker 2: have a dog.
- 38:52Speaker 7: Well, you've got to start somewhere.
- 38:53Speaker 2: No, but I've had dogs all my life when I was,
- 38:55Speaker 2: you know, younger and stuff. Well, that was 70 years ago. No,
- 38:58Speaker 2: I mean, I had dogs. It's not hard to train
- 39:00Speaker 2: a dog to. go come up to you for somebody
- 39:03Speaker 2: else's name. It's not that hard.
- 39:05Speaker 6: I mean, I think if you're showing him as much
- 39:07Speaker 6: love as you're going to, they're going to be fine
- 39:09Speaker 6: if you change their name.
- 39:10Speaker 5: But here, let me ask you this. Is the bigger problem, though,
- 39:12Speaker 5: that you have an insecure man on your hands?
- 39:14Speaker 2: How is he insecure? You would want to hear your
- 39:17Speaker 2: ex's ex-fiance or whatever's name all the time? It wouldn't
- 39:20Speaker 2: bother me. Oh, yo, I know you would be like,
- 39:24Speaker 2: can we talk? I think it's kind of funny, actually. No, whatever.
- 39:28Speaker 5: You'd be like, your ex is a dog. That's what
- 39:33Speaker 5: I'd be saying.
- 39:33Speaker 2: You got to see this dog all the time? No,
- 39:35Speaker 2: you ain't trying to do that. But if you say
- 39:36Speaker 2: it enough, you're going to get over it.
- 39:38Speaker 7: You might, but you might not.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I would. Come on. I'd be like, yeah, whatever.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Whatever your stupid name is.
- 39:44Speaker 7: I mean, we changed Brewster's name, but we got him
- 39:46Speaker 7: when he was 12 weeks. His name was Ranger at
- 39:49Speaker 7: the rescue we rescued him from. We liked that name,
- 39:52Speaker 7: but we already had Brewster that we wanted to name him.
- 39:55Speaker 2: You did, so you changed his name. Yeah. But he
- 39:57Speaker 2: still doesn't come to you.
- 39:58Speaker 3: No.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I was going to say, maybe he's mad about it.
- 40:03Speaker 2: You never know. All right.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Well, it doesn't matter what I think. It doesn't matter
- 40:06Speaker 5: what Pooh thinks. It only matters what Candace Lopez thinks.
- 40:09Speaker 2: That's right. Everything in life. That's all. It's always about Candace.
- 40:12Speaker 7: I'm so sure.
- 40:13Speaker 2: What's the verdict?
- 40:14Speaker 6: Look, I think you're guilty of being an Ollie Olivia.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Oh. Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 7: We're going to change his name.
- 40:19Speaker 6: Look, Brewster comes when I call him Pumpkin Bears, when
- 40:22Speaker 6: I call him Angel Dog.
- 40:23Speaker 7: When I call him all the things.
- 40:25Speaker 2: What do you call him?
- 40:26Speaker 7: I call him Mama's Angel Dog, Mama's Pumpkin Bears.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Well, I call Trigger even my dog.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 40:34Speaker 2: He has a nickname.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Right. Bubba.
- 40:36Speaker 4: See?
- 40:37Speaker 3: Bubba.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Or Bubs. Oh, yeah, I've heard you say Bubs. Or
- 40:40Speaker 2: Buddy Poo.
- 40:40Speaker 7: Change his name. He's going to love it. He wants
- 40:43Speaker 7: a new life.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I promise.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Or Little Tricky.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Come here, Little Tricky Boy.
- 40:47Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 40:50Speaker 4: Kid in the Morning.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 40:53Speaker 2: All right, Chance of Those Usher and Chris Brown.
- 40:56Speaker 5: Tickets coming up next. We're doing it on the 10s
- 40:57Speaker 5: pretty much every hour, all day. And a chance to
- 40:59Speaker 5: get on that VIP riser.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 41:02Speaker 2: You never know what's going to happen on that thing.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Chris Brown might come over there. Usher might. You might
- 41:06Speaker 2: expect Chris Brown, but Usher might come over anyway.
- 41:08Speaker 7: That's true.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Dance on you up close and personal.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Weird.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Or Pooh might come out and dance on you. Yeah.
- 41:15Speaker 2: You never know what's going to happen.
- 41:16Speaker 7: Once they find out he plays for the Cowboys.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that he's the newest Dallas Cowboy.
- 41:19Speaker 7: I can't take it.
- 41:23Speaker 3: I know.
- 41:23Speaker 2: You should go see him train on our Instagram, at Mix1029FM.
- 41:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Candace, what's going on?
- 41:28Speaker 6: Well, I have an update to the severe flash flooding
- 41:30Speaker 6: that hit parts of the Grand Canyon on Saturday. One
- 41:33Speaker 6: death now confirmed. Fifteen people are still believed to be missing.
- 41:37Speaker 6: At least 62 people were forced to evacuate, but those
- 41:40Speaker 6: search efforts will continue today. Officials say the number of
- 41:43Speaker 6: missing could go up, but I am also hearing that
- 41:46Speaker 6: several popular trails, campgrounds, and other areas are now closed indefinitely.
- 41:51Speaker 6: More heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible there today.
- 41:55Speaker 7: Here back at home, hot week.
- 41:56Speaker 6: We're not going to be breaking records this week, though,
- 41:58Speaker 6: so that is good news.
- 41:59Speaker 7: We are going to get up to.
- 42:00Speaker 6: 100 today, but then by midweek, we get closer to
- 42:03Speaker 6: what we should be this time of year. The average
- 42:05Speaker 6: temperature is supposed to be 94, which still seems hot.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, but not after you've been dealing with
- 42:10Speaker 2: triple digits. Right, yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 6: They are saying we have some low rain chances in
- 42:13Speaker 6: the forecast.
- 42:15Speaker 7: About midweek.
- 42:16Speaker 6: So just, you know, dance, do.
- 42:18Speaker 7: A dance, whatever you got, cross your fingers.
- 42:20Speaker 6: Those rain chances are only though, because of a tropical
- 42:22Speaker 6: depression forming in the Gulf right now. So you have
- 42:25Speaker 6: to be in our Southern and Eastern areas to get
- 42:27Speaker 6: that rain, but it's possible.
- 42:29Speaker 3: So.
- 42:30Speaker 7: Keep hope alive.
- 42:30Speaker 2: As long as it's 90s, I'm fine right now.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:33Speaker 7: No, 94 sounds great.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that does. It sounds like a cold front.
- 42:36Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly.
- 42:37Speaker 6: Guys, Tom Cruise is officially making a Days of Thunder sequel.
- 42:41Speaker 6: He's going to be back as his character, Cole Trickle.
- 42:44Speaker 6: He'll be joined by Anne Hathaway, who's going to play
- 42:46Speaker 6: the team owner and engineer. I'm excited about this. I
- 42:50Speaker 6: didn't know that you hadn't seen Days of Thunder.
- 42:52Speaker 2: No, why would I?
- 42:52Speaker 7: It's a NASCAR movie from 1990. Yes, it was big.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Come on.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Huge.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Who says every movie's big, though? No, that was. That
- 43:00Speaker 2: was like. I don't remember. I mean, I remember it,
- 43:02Speaker 2: but I don't. I mean, I'm the worst. Yeah. With movies.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I can't even tell you the last time I turned
- 43:06Speaker 2: on my TV. Wow.
- 43:08Speaker 5: Unless it's for a sporting event or UFC, I just
- 43:10Speaker 5: don't watch TV.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Yeah. And when I was a kid, I was the
- 43:13Speaker 2: same way. I didn't watch a lot of movies. Yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 2: At all. What year did it come out?
- 43:16Speaker 3: 1990.
- 43:16Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I was a baby.
- 43:19Speaker 7: I'm a baby.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like four. Yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 7: Okay, we'll give you a pass, I guess.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Thanks, Candace.
- 43:25Speaker 6: Yeah, this movie, though, causing some drama online because Randy Quaid,
- 43:28Speaker 6: who was in the original movie, he's been popping off
- 43:31Speaker 6: online about this saying Anne Hathaway was a, quote, horrible choice.
- 43:35Speaker 6: He says if he was in control... A real sequel
- 43:38Speaker 6: worth watching would be Tom and Nicole Kidman on screen again.
- 43:42Speaker 7: He says, we don't need a new girl. We need
- 43:44Speaker 7: a new race car.
- 43:45Speaker 6: And I didn't like the fact that he.
- 43:46Speaker 7: Threw out, you know, you know, she's pregnant. It's like, well,
- 43:49Speaker 7: what does that mean? Literally, who cares?
- 43:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not going to film it. I mean, it's
- 43:54Speaker 2: not going to start right now filming.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:55Speaker 6: That made me so annoyed because, you know, how long
- 43:58Speaker 6: a pregnancy lasts, you know, how long a movie takes
- 44:00Speaker 6: to make.
- 44:00Speaker 7: And then they actually address this in the teaser.
- 44:03Speaker 6: She's like, I'm going to have this baby and then
- 44:04Speaker 6: we're going to make this movie.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 44:07Speaker 7: Love that you addressed it. So I don't know what
- 44:08Speaker 7: he's talking about.
- 44:09Speaker 6: But the scheduled release date is June 2nd, 2028. I'm
- 44:14Speaker 6: Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas top stories.
- 44:20Speaker 5: So I saw this going viral and I thought, wow,
- 44:23Speaker 5: of all places I didn't expect.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I mean, a lot of jobs, you're not allowed to
- 44:27Speaker 2: have visible tattoos.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:29Speaker 5: You got to cover them up. I mean, I don't
- 44:31Speaker 5: know if I'd say a lot of jobs. I think
- 44:33Speaker 5: in 2026, that's kind of lightened up a little bit
- 44:35Speaker 5: because so many people have tattoos. But guess what place
- 44:38Speaker 5: is going viral? Because they're like, nope, you got to
- 44:40Speaker 5: cover up your tattoos, period. Otherwise, you cannot work here.
- 44:44Speaker 7: What?
- 44:45Speaker 2: Buc-ee's. What? Buc-ee's.
- 44:48Speaker 7: Are you serious?
- 44:49Speaker 5: People were talking about it online. And I started thinking
- 44:52Speaker 5: about this. And I know I'm a little bit biased
- 44:53Speaker 5: because I have a lot of tattoos online. but I,
- 44:56Speaker 5: there's not one job I can think of where I
- 44:59Speaker 5: would judge that person if they had tattoos.
- 45:01Speaker 2: I mean, there's not one I'm thinking about it. Like there's,
- 45:03Speaker 2: is there one, especially not Bucky's? No. What do I
- 45:06Speaker 2: care if you have tattoos?
- 45:08Speaker 6: They probably sell temporary Bucky's tattoos.
- 45:12Speaker 2: I'm sure they do. I don't, but I was, I
- 45:14Speaker 2: was shocked. I was like, okay.
- 45:15Speaker 5: And then I started reading the rules at Bucky's and
- 45:17Speaker 5: it says, in addition to the tattoo ban, Bucky's does
- 45:21Speaker 5: not abide by body piercings, tongue posts. Unnatural colored hair,
- 45:26Speaker 5: open-toed shoes, torn or faded clothing. Uniform requirements include tan khaki,
- 45:32Speaker 5: black pants, and a clean professional solid red shirt with
- 45:35Speaker 5: a collar. And then people were going off on this
- 45:38Speaker 5: Reddit thread about how hard it is to work there
- 45:41Speaker 5: because you get one break, a shift, and you can't
- 45:44Speaker 5: even sit down.
- 45:46Speaker 7: Really?
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they say you can't.
- 45:48Speaker 7: You can't sit down on your break?
- 45:50Speaker 2: I find that hard to believe.
- 45:51Speaker 7: Isn't that a break?
- 45:52Speaker 2: It's my break. Yeah, if I break, I'm breaking. The
- 45:55Speaker 2: beaver don't play.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Ew.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:58Speaker 5: But is there a job that you can think of
- 46:01Speaker 5: that you would see tattoos and you would go, oh, geez,
- 46:04Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I can think of one.
- 46:07Speaker 5: What?
- 46:09Speaker 2: A pilot. A pilot?
- 46:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:11Speaker 7: Huh, really?
- 46:12Speaker 2: I expect my pilots to look like. Like Tom Hanks,
- 46:15Speaker 2: just an old distinguished... Really?
- 46:17Speaker 7: Just clean cut?
- 46:18Speaker 2: Clean cut, yeah. Well, usually they have on long... You
- 46:21Speaker 2: know what?
- 46:21Speaker 5: Matter of fact, I have seen a pilot. One time
- 46:25Speaker 5: I was on a flight where the pilot had a sleeve.
- 46:27Speaker 2: For real? And it did not bother me.
- 46:29Speaker 6: No, why would that affect your ability to fly the plane?
- 46:32Speaker 2: It would really... Yeah, why would that bother you? I
- 46:35Speaker 2: don't know. That's the only... That's the only profession I...
- 46:38Speaker 2: Who's also so weird about flying? I'd question. I'd be like, man,
- 46:41Speaker 2: this dude look kind of rough. I don't know. He
- 46:43Speaker 2: might just... I don't know. He might be drinking in the... Drinking?
- 46:47Speaker 2: At the TGI Fridays and just be like, let's go, guys.
- 46:51Speaker 2: I have a sleeve. Am I drinking before the show? No, no, no.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Don't answer that.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Are you drinking before the flight? Well, yeah, but I
- 46:59Speaker 2: ain't flying the plane.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Right.
- 47:01Speaker 2: But Pooh's weird about flying. Yes, I am. I got
- 47:04Speaker 2: to do a ritual.
- 47:04Speaker 5: Matter of fact, one time, because Pooh and I would
- 47:07Speaker 5: fly together a lot back in the day, back in
- 47:09Speaker 5: the day when I was doing music, we'd have to
- 47:12Speaker 5: go all over.
- 47:12Speaker 2: The place, and Pooh was my hype man. He couldn't
- 47:14Speaker 2: even remember the lyrics. Oh, I remember the lyrics.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Anyway, but of course he's with me, and I would
- 47:20Speaker 5: mess with Pooh. You know how you hear the luggage
- 47:22Speaker 5: shift when you take off?
- 47:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:24Speaker 2: And I'd be like, oh, there goes the wheel.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:26Speaker 2: And he'd be like, what?
- 47:28Speaker 5: Oh, no. One time we told him that, you know,
- 47:30Speaker 5: when you hit turbulence. It feels like you're only dropping
- 47:34Speaker 5: a couple feet, but you're actually dropping thousands.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Sometimes 10,000 feet. And still to this day, he believes it. Yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 2: I'm scared.
- 47:44Speaker 7: That's why I like flying with my husband because he
- 47:46Speaker 7: used to be a flight attendant.
- 47:47Speaker 6: So he knows what all the sounds and dings are.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Yeah, right.
- 47:49Speaker 7: It makes me feel better.
- 47:50Speaker 2: So he tells you everything?
- 47:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:52Speaker 5: There's not much that really scares me when I fly.
- 47:54Speaker 5: But I can't think of one job. Even if it
- 47:56Speaker 5: was like, I'm thinking about, you know, what's one of
- 47:57Speaker 5: the most serious, like a surgeon.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Right. If your surgeon walked out and had like a sleeve.
- 48:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't think it would bother me.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I don't think it'd bother me either. And he had
- 48:05Speaker 2: a neck tattoo just like, what's up? Depends on what
- 48:07Speaker 2: it's like.
- 48:08Speaker 7: Yeah, is it a face tattoo?
- 48:09Speaker 3: What does it say?
- 48:10Speaker 2: Maybe he's got like a teardrop tattoo. Yeah. That's a
- 48:13Speaker 2: good sign you might have killed someone.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 48:16Speaker 2: No, pass. I might have a couple questions.
- 48:18Speaker 7: I'm going to reschedule this appointment.
- 48:20Speaker 2: You ready to remove that spleen? Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Go on.
- 48:23Speaker 2: If he's got like thug life across his neck, I
- 48:26Speaker 2: don't know.
- 48:26Speaker 7: Yeah, depends on what it is.
- 48:28Speaker 2: But if it's like a sleeve or just that, I
- 48:29Speaker 2: don't think it'd bother me.
- 48:30Speaker 1: No, it doesn't bother me.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Or always tired up under his eye. Oh, yeah. Please don't.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Hopefully not now. That's all I know.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Another shot at these Usher and Chris Brown tickets. Coming up,
- 48:40Speaker 5: we do it on the 10s pretty much every hour
- 48:42Speaker 5: and a chance to be on the VIP riser, which
- 48:44Speaker 5: would be nice. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Producer Pooh is here. We were talking about food pet peeves.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Well, we were talking about deal breakers the other day,
- 48:53Speaker 2: random deal breakers that people were just like, oh, I
- 48:56Speaker 2: went on this date and this happened and I couldn't
- 48:58Speaker 2: do it. And it was just weird things.
- 49:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:01Speaker 5: One of them I didn't get to was super strange.
- 49:03Speaker 5: A woman went out with this guy and she said
- 49:05Speaker 5: the deal breaker was we went to a fancy steakhouse
- 49:09Speaker 5: and he ordered his steak well done.
- 49:12Speaker 2: And it was a deal breaker.
- 49:14Speaker 3: I know.
- 49:15Speaker 5: And I started laughing because I'm like, oh, does that
- 49:18Speaker 5: sound familiar? Because I've taken poo to a fancy steakhouse,
- 49:23Speaker 5: and he has.
- 49:23Speaker 2: Asked for A1.
- 49:24Speaker 6: No!
- 49:25Speaker 5: Oh, and I almost had an absolute heart attack.
- 49:29Speaker 7: They don't have A1.
- 49:31Speaker 2: No, they don't.
- 49:32Speaker 5: Not only do they not have it, it's considered completely insulting.
- 49:36Speaker 2: And I get people like what they like.
- 49:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I get it.
- 49:39Speaker 8: For sure.
- 49:40Speaker 5: If you're at home and you want to get a
- 49:41Speaker 5: nice steak and you want to douse it in A1...
- 49:44Speaker 5: I don't get it personally, but if that's what you
- 49:46Speaker 5: want to do, that's what you do. I've met people
- 49:48Speaker 5: who dip their steak in ketchup.
- 49:49Speaker 7: Yeah, same.
- 49:50Speaker 2: You're psycho.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:52Speaker 2: But I get it.
- 49:53Speaker 6: It's not awful, but it could taste a lot better.
- 49:56Speaker 2: It is awful. Come on. He scolded me.
- 49:59Speaker 5: I said, I stopped him before the waiter could even
- 50:01Speaker 5: say anything.
- 50:02Speaker 2: We're like Albernaise. Yeah. You know, we're talking about a
- 50:05Speaker 2: nice place. Great steaks.
- 50:08Speaker 7: Yeah, they have a couple of sauce options you can
- 50:10Speaker 7: add on.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Yeah, they got great sauce. Sir, would you like a
- 50:13Speaker 2: nice peppercorn, blah, blah, blah? Truffle butter? Do y'all got A1?
- 50:16Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, my. No, no, you will not. I said, no,
- 50:22Speaker 2: they don't, poo. They don't.
- 50:25Speaker 5: And the server just kind of laughed, and I was like, no.
- 50:27Speaker 5: And I get it, though. A well-done steak to me
- 50:30Speaker 5: is disgusting.
- 50:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I didn't know back in the day.
- 50:33Speaker 7: You don't know until you know.
- 50:34Speaker 2: No, but a well-done steak?
- 50:36Speaker 8: No.
- 50:37Speaker 3: To me?
- 50:37Speaker 7: It's too much.
- 50:38Speaker 2: No, it's too much. My food pet peeve, I'll start,
- 50:41Speaker 2: and then I'll go around the room. What's yours? Let
- 50:43Speaker 2: us know. People are Instagramming me already, at Billy on
- 50:45Speaker 2: the radio.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Mine is random. I got a few of them, but
- 50:49Speaker 5: one of mine, and I just hate this, is hot lettuce.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Oh.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Oh, there's something about hot lettuce. I don't like lettuce
- 50:59Speaker 2: in general. It's just stupid.
- 51:01Speaker 5: You go to Chipotle, you try to get a bowl,
- 51:03Speaker 5: and it's like a 14-inch.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Pile of lettuce. Yeah. Has no taste. It's just filler. Yeah,
- 51:09Speaker 2: it is. Right? So I guess, what is it meant
- 51:11Speaker 2: to fill you up?
- 51:12Speaker 7: I guess.
- 51:13Speaker 2: So you don't eat as much? Ruffage.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Do I want to eat ruffage?
- 51:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 2: What's worse than lettuce in general is hot, soggy lettuce.
- 51:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:22Speaker 7: No, I'm out.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 7: Where you can see it.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Hot, soggy lettuce is gross to me.
- 51:30Speaker 2: That just disgusting. Candace Lopez, your food pet peeve.
- 51:33Speaker 7: Well, I did this the other day by accident.
- 51:34Speaker 6: You know when you forget to like shake up the
- 51:36Speaker 6: ketchup and it just comes out watery to start?
- 51:38Speaker 7: That was so gross.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:42Speaker 6: And then it was just like cruising down my plate
- 51:44Speaker 6: into my other food.
- 51:46Speaker 2: You know what's weird, too? I get that because that's disgusting,
- 51:49Speaker 2: but also warm ketchup to me is gross. Okay.
- 51:52Speaker 7: I don't mind warm ketchup.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Because some people just, you know, you don't have to
- 51:54Speaker 2: refrigerate ketchup.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 2: But I always refrigerate mine.
- 51:57Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 51:58Speaker 2: I do, too. But there's some people that are just
- 52:00Speaker 2: wild and they leave it out in the pantry.
- 52:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Just to get hot. Yeah.
- 52:03Speaker 7: Well, thinking back, when I worked at Bennigan's, we just
- 52:05Speaker 7: left it all on the table.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you did.
- 52:07Speaker 3: You know?
- 52:07Speaker 7: So what was the big deal?
- 52:08Speaker 2: Mustard on the table.
- 52:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Everything on the table. Okay. That's a good one. All right.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Producer Pooh, what's your pet peeve? Food pet peeve. Okay.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Unless I know you know you, I don't like eating
- 52:20Speaker 2: other people's cooking.
- 52:21Speaker 7: Okay.
- 52:22Speaker 2: See, I don't know if I believe this one.
- 52:23Speaker 3: What?
- 52:24Speaker 2: Because you love eating. I love eating. But when we've
- 52:27Speaker 2: had company potlucks and people are like, hey, did you
- 52:30Speaker 2: try to such and such? And I'd be like, well,
- 52:31Speaker 2: who made that? I don't know you know you. Because
- 52:34Speaker 2: I don't know if you got your cats or dogs
- 52:36Speaker 2: up there sampling. Yeah, no, I can't do it. What
- 52:39Speaker 2: are you really worried about? So you think, who has
- 52:42Speaker 2: a thing that if you have cats, he can't eat
- 52:44Speaker 2: your cooking? No, because I don't trust you.
- 52:47Speaker 4: Why?
- 52:47Speaker 2: Because your cats walk up on the counter and the
- 52:49Speaker 2: hairball be all in the food. I just don't trust you.
- 52:52Speaker 2: And I don't even know if you wash your hands enough.
- 52:54Speaker 2: Not every- Like, I know, like, if Candace is cooking something-
- 52:57Speaker 2: She washes her hands. Oh, yeah. If you have cats,
- 53:01Speaker 2: please tell me.
- 53:02Speaker 5: Tell Pooh that not every cat owner lets their cats
- 53:04Speaker 5: get on the counter and lick the food.
- 53:06Speaker 2: The majority of them do.
- 53:07Speaker 3: No. No.
- 53:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 53:09Speaker 7: They don't lick the food.
- 53:11Speaker 2: They might get on the counter. Yeah, they get on
- 53:13Speaker 2: the counter. I'm telling you, I dated a couple of
- 53:15Speaker 2: girls who had cats, and their cats just walked all over,
- 53:18Speaker 2: and I was like, what are you doing? Yeah, but
- 53:19Speaker 2: we know the girls you date. I mean, I'm just saying.
- 53:23Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 53:26Speaker 4: Kid in the morning.
- 53:27Speaker 3: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Candace Lopez, what is
- 53:31Speaker 3: going on?
- 53:31Speaker 6: Well, more than 1.2 million Texas voters are on the
- 53:34Speaker 6: state's voter suspense list, which means it's a good time
- 53:37Speaker 6: to check your voter registration status before.
- 53:39Speaker 7: The November election.
- 53:41Speaker 6: So this doesn't mean your voter registration has been canceled,
- 53:44Speaker 6: but you may need to update some info online. The
- 53:47Speaker 6: deadline to register or update your info is October 5th,
- 53:50Speaker 6: Election Day, November 3rd. It'll be here before you know it,
- 53:53Speaker 6: so handle your business. Go online, VoteTexas.gov. And the governor
- 53:58Speaker 6: of Tennessee says he intends to rename Nashville Airport in
- 54:02Speaker 6: honor of Dolly Parton. The petition to make this happen
- 54:05Speaker 6: actually started last year.
- 54:07Speaker 7: Then it got a huge push. After her passing, this.
- 54:11Speaker 6: Is going to be officially discussed at a city meeting
- 54:13Speaker 6: next month. But I know someone was also flying a
- 54:16Speaker 6: big banner around Nashville on Friday that had the website
- 54:20Speaker 6: for the petition. So, so many signatures on there.
- 54:24Speaker 7: I think this is a great idea.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Yeah, why not? I mean, I feel like even if
- 54:28Speaker 2: she didn't... pass away. Yeah. She was still alive. People
- 54:32Speaker 2: wanted to do it.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 7: They started it last year.
- 54:34Speaker 6: Now the airport right now, BNA Berryfield national airport, it
- 54:38Speaker 6: was actually named after a world war army vet. So
- 54:42Speaker 6: it'll be interesting to see how they continue to honor him.
- 54:45Speaker 6: If they do change the name, he helped establish the
- 54:47Speaker 6: airfield there.
- 54:48Speaker 7: So, but yeah, people would really love.
- 54:51Speaker 6: In 2026 to see it named after Dolly.
- 54:53Speaker 5: You got to pay your respects for the veteran as well.
- 54:55Speaker 5: So maybe you put a statue up of him.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:58Speaker 5: You know, make sure that you have a place where
- 55:00Speaker 5: he's honored.
- 55:01Speaker 7: Absolutely.
- 55:01Speaker 2: And then rename it Dolly. Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 6: And by the way, Dolly was laid to rest with
- 55:05Speaker 6: a private funeral with her immediate family on Friday. Her
- 55:08Speaker 6: niece confirmed this with a tribute online. And let's talk
- 55:13Speaker 6: about the Cowboys because they finally finalized their roster last night.
- 55:17Speaker 6: By the way, we're all kind of waiting to see
- 55:19Speaker 6: what was going to happen with Shia's Pete.
- 55:21Speaker 7: You know, he kind of.
- 55:23Speaker 6: Stole the show in Arizona with that post game speech
- 55:26Speaker 6: he made in the locker room, but they did wave him.
- 55:29Speaker 7: Which was kind of a bummer.
- 55:31Speaker 6: You know, he made history as the first Navajo nation
- 55:33Speaker 6: member in the league. But his agent says, you know,
- 55:36Speaker 6: he should get a chance to keep developing somewhere else
- 55:39Speaker 6: this season. So it doesn't sound like they're going to
- 55:41Speaker 6: keep him on the practice squad here.
- 55:42Speaker 2: That's what I was hoping for. At least in the
- 55:44Speaker 2: practice squad, he'd make money and then you could, you know,
- 55:45Speaker 2: build them up to where he could get to where
- 55:48Speaker 2: he makes the team, you know, on the regular lineup. Yeah.
- 55:51Speaker 2: But he was just so good for morale. Yeah.
- 55:54Speaker 6: I mean, we haven't seen leadership and energy like that
- 55:57Speaker 6: in so long, I feel like, in the locker room.
- 55:59Speaker 6: But we're definitely going to follow and see, you know,
- 56:01Speaker 6: what happens with his career.
- 56:02Speaker 2: You need guys like that.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Even if they're not the best, just to get the
- 56:07Speaker 5: team going. And it's good for the morale and whatever, though.
- 56:09Speaker 2: What do I know? Yeah, I know.
- 56:11Speaker 6: We're getting close to Cowboys kicking off the season Sunday,
- 56:14Speaker 6: September 13th, against the Giants in New York.
- 56:17Speaker 7: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 56:19Speaker 5: A little secret coming up next on Mix 102.9. It's
- 56:22Speaker 5: Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. We were talking
- 56:24Speaker 5: about food pet peeves, and there's some funny ones coming
- 56:27Speaker 5: in on my Instagram.
- 56:28Speaker 2: And, Candace, you have one. What is it?
- 56:29Speaker 6: Yeah, Angel said when pizza's cut in squares.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Oh, no. See, I like that.
- 56:35Speaker 7: I don't mind it. Yeah, it's easy to eat, but
- 56:37Speaker 7: it doesn't feel like pizza.
- 56:38Speaker 2: The thin crust pizza, I like when it's cut in squares.
- 56:41Speaker 8: I don't know why.
- 56:41Speaker 2: I've never had a triangle thin crust pizza.
- 56:45Speaker 7: No, same.
- 56:46Speaker 2: That would be weird to me. All right, some other
- 56:47Speaker 2: ones that I got. Oh, this is a good one.
- 56:50Speaker 2: Mandy in Red Oak said, I hate when my food touches.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Oh.
- 56:55Speaker 2: That kind of makes sense.
- 56:56Speaker 7: Okay.
- 56:57Speaker 2: You know, like, I'm like that, too.
- 56:58Speaker 5: Thanksgiving, I know people who obviously put everything together on
- 57:01Speaker 5: the plate.
- 57:02Speaker 3: Right.
- 57:02Speaker 2: I don't like that.
- 57:03Speaker 7: Do you use a divider plate like the kids?
- 57:06Speaker 2: No, I'm not using a divider. Okay. I don't keep
- 57:09Speaker 2: my food.
- 57:09Speaker 1: It's got sections.
- 57:10Speaker 2: No, it's not segregated. Okay, good. But I don't put
- 57:14Speaker 2: everything on top. Like, poo does that.
- 57:16Speaker 7: Oh, no, don't put food on top of each other.
- 57:18Speaker 2: No, Pooh will put, like, fries on his burger. Oh, yeah,
- 57:21Speaker 2: chips on my sandwich all the time. I'll do chips
- 57:24Speaker 2: on sandwich. Yeah. Only if I'm in the pool. Doritos
- 57:28Speaker 2: on a bologna sandwich? Yeah.
- 57:30Speaker 3: What?
- 57:30Speaker 5: Okay, this is a good one, too. Hi to Mark
- 57:32Speaker 5: in Prosper. He said, I hate fruit and meat together. Oh,
- 57:37Speaker 5: like pineapple and ham pizza.
- 57:39Speaker 7: No, I love that.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:42Speaker 7: Canadian bacon and pineapple.
- 57:44Speaker 5: I'm not a hater at all on the Hawaiian pizza
- 57:47Speaker 5: or whatever it's called. But I just don't like that.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:49Speaker 5: If I'm going to do pineapple, I can't have the ham.
- 57:52Speaker 2: I actually agree with that.
- 57:53Speaker 7: That's too bad. It's really good.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Fruit and meat. Just no. Keep it separated. Alicia and
- 57:59Speaker 2: Garland said nuts and brownies. Food pet peeve.
- 58:03Speaker 7: Oh, I love that. Yeah, it gives it a little crunch,
- 58:05Speaker 7: a little texture.
- 58:06Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, I love that. Fiona in Plano
- 58:10Speaker 2: said she hates ice.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Ice?
- 58:13Speaker 2: Just ice.
- 58:13Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 58:14Speaker 2: I don't want ice in my drinks. I don't want ice.
- 58:16Speaker 2: I hate that. You don't get as much, and it
- 58:18Speaker 2: just sucks.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 58:21Speaker 6: Because when the ice comes crashing out of the cup
- 58:22Speaker 6: on your face.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Sometimes, it's not worth it.
- 58:25Speaker 5: We used to work with someone who would never eat
- 58:27Speaker 5: anything cold. They didn't eat anything cold.
- 58:30Speaker 2: No ice in their drinks. Would eat the salad. Everything
- 58:33Speaker 2: they ate had to be hot.
- 58:34Speaker 7: Nice. That's good for you.
- 58:35Speaker 2: It's kind of strange. Shannon walks out. She said she
- 58:39Speaker 2: hates reheated meat. Okay.
- 58:42Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Sable and Rockwell said, I just hate mayo, period.
- 58:46Speaker 5: Yeah all right hates mayonnaise that's fire some people have
- 58:49Speaker 5: a phobia mayonnaise all right dirty little secret is coming
- 58:52Speaker 5: up next.
- 58:55Speaker 6: It's dirty little secret with billy the kid in the
- 58:57Speaker 6: morning on mix 102.9 brought to you by mint.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Dentistry all right if you got a secret 833-787-1029 and
- 59:05Speaker 2: make it good anytime you want you can confess just
- 59:07Speaker 2: call us up it's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 59:11Speaker 2: You've got a secret.
- 59:12Speaker 8: So this confession, my wife would absolutely kill me if
- 59:17Speaker 8: she ever found out.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 59:19Speaker 8: But I tend to lie about how bad my memory
- 59:24Speaker 8: loss actually is.
- 59:26Speaker 2: You lie about your memory loss?
- 59:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Okay. But you do have memory loss? Tell us the situation.
- 59:36Speaker 8: Well, so a few years ago, I was in a
- 59:39Speaker 8: pretty serious car accident on the 35. Oh, gosh. So
- 59:43Speaker 8: a guy fell asleep behind the wheel and rear-ended me
- 59:46Speaker 8: when I was coming home from work. I ended up
- 59:48Speaker 8: hospitalized with a pretty bad concussion. And afterwards, I started
- 59:53Speaker 8: dealing with some memory loss, specifically short-term.
- 59:56Speaker 1: That part is actually true.
- 59:58Speaker 2: So, well, that's scary. So you did have some memory
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: loss when you went to the doctor or whatever. They
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: figured that out. Yeah. Okay.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Well, I put, like, my secret. I definitely use it
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: to my advantage.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: It's not funny. I don't mean to laugh. Oh. Oh, no.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: What do you mean you use it?
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: I've heard of people doing this with hearing loss before.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: What?
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: I've heard.
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: God.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: Okay, sorry. I'm so immature.
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: So what do you do?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: So you know what I'm talking about.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: I just picked it up, picked up on it. So
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: what do you, yeah, what exactly goes down? Yeah.
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: So like, like every other husband on the planet, sometimes
- 1:00:41Speaker 8: I forget things and. Sometimes her wife asks me to
- 1:00:45Speaker 8: pick something up or do, like, a to-do list and
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: plans she told me about. And I've actually forgotten our
- 1:00:51Speaker 8: anniversary before.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: Sorry, babe.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: It's not good. Yeah, it's not good. But you have
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: an issue. Yeah.
- 1:01:00Speaker 8: So, like, whatever she's upset, I kind of pull out the, like, babe,
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: you know my condition. And, you know, it's really hard
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: for me to remember certain things.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: And it pretty much works.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Oh. Oh.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: This is funny, but not funny.
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: Well, yeah. What is she going to say?
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: But you're not lying. Yeah, you can't come back to that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: You can't come back. Well, sorry. I have memory loss.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: I got hit. Right.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I mean, what do you want me to do? Yeah,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: you almost lost me. You almost lost me, and now
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: you're yelling at me?
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: You're going to throw that at her?
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Did you forget, wifey?
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: Did you forget you almost lost me, and now you're
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: yelling at me because I forgot every anniversary.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: We've ever had?
- 1:01:37Speaker 7: Just the times I had to buy a gift.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: I'm traumatized every time I go down 35, girl. The
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: thing about it is, though, is can't you just go, hey,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: let me set that in my phone? Right.
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: That's a good point.
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: But sometimes you forget that. If it's short-term memory loss,
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: as soon as it pops up, I forgot.
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I already forgot. I think I have memory loss, too, sir. So,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: you know what?
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: It is what it is. But she understands. She goes
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: with it, obviously. You're still together.
- 1:02:04Speaker 8: Yeah. I mean, you know, I do forget.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I forget things.
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: But, like, half the time when I forget something my
- 1:02:11Speaker 8: wife told me, it's not the conditions. It's just me
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: being an idiot.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I've used it at work, too.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: How?
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, when I've forgotten to do something that works.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: I mean.
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: Maybe that's what poo's suffering from, and we don't know.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: That's probably, yeah. When we go out to eat, sometimes
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: I forget. You forget to bring your wallet every time? Yeah,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: I legit, and it's short-term memory loss. I think yours
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: is more long-term. Okay, it's long-term. I don't know what
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: it is, but it's something. Well, sir, good for you.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I don't want to say good for you. I don't
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: know if I should advocate.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: No.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: And promote such behavior.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: Don't abuse this.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: But do what you got to do. It's a superpower.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: It really is.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: That's not fair. Well, Candace, it's not his fault. He
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: got hit on 35.
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: Well, I know, but we're happy he's okay.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: He's not. He's not okay.
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: He's playing his wife.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: He is not okay. Maybe he forgot that he forgot.
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: And she forgot. Was she in the car when you
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: got hit or no? She was not. So it's not
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: her excuse. Or did you forget that she was in
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: the car?
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: Oh, wow.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: There's a lot going on here.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: Well, thank you, sir.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: And I hope, in all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: And I hope your memory loss gets better. But you
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: don't have to tell her that. You already forgot.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Hey, thank you, sir.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I think you forgot.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: We were here.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Who is this?
