- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from the state Capitol.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly nash Boy.
- 0:07Speaker 3: I think we got the tip of the iceberg yesterday
- 0:10Speaker 3: out of New Jersey. I believe this is going to
- 0:13Speaker 3: be a massive, massive scandal. And the governor, Mickey, You're
- 0:19Speaker 3: not so fine. Charell broke the news that there was
- 0:22Speaker 3: sixty six hundred non citizen voters in New Jersey. She says,
- 0:26Speaker 3: we believe only four hundred of them voted. She just
- 0:30Speaker 3: was made aware of this on Wednesday. It started in
- 0:32Speaker 3: twenty twenty three, but we've already cleaned it up. It's
- 0:35Speaker 3: really a non story almost, according to her. Yesterday, a
- 0:39Speaker 3: YouTuber was down in DC as the news broke and
- 0:44Speaker 3: was walking with the not just New Jersey, but the
- 0:47Speaker 3: congressional delegates that are pretty much all Democrats. The first
- 0:50Speaker 3: guy you're going to hear is Representative Frost out of Florida.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I believe the second one is Annaaliah Maya. You can hear.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Both of them are just like, this is such a nonstar.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Worried breaking news, making sure.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I just saw that.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they disclose it. They're going to fix it.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Laws that they have on the boat.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Six hundred individuals didn't vote, not for certain, I mean
- 1:12Speaker 5: they're ridually or so they got could if they wanted to, right,
- 1:14Speaker 5: But there's an independent investigation that New Jersey has initiated,
- 1:18Speaker 5: and so far the proof shows that a very very
- 1:22Speaker 5: very small fraction voted illegally, and they have discovered this
- 1:27Speaker 5: and they're going to continue investigating it. And I think
- 1:30Speaker 5: like the point that for a very small percentage of air,
- 1:36Speaker 5: we have air in every system, we have fraud in
- 1:39Speaker 5: every system. There's a lot of fraud coming out of
- 1:41Speaker 5: sixteen hundred Pensylvania Avenue to make it more difficult for
- 1:45Speaker 5: the vast majority of Americans to vote because of a
- 1:49Speaker 5: very small percentage of air. And fraud is not popular.
- 1:54Speaker 5: It's not popular amongst the American people.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Oh my god. And we don't want to bend over
- 1:57Speaker 3: backwards because of that. Wow.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Is that a valley girl or was that a real
- 2:02Speaker 6: representative of New Jersey?
- 2:04Speaker 3: They didn't identify her, but I believe that is Annalie Amaya.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And if it is Annaliemaya, she just got into Congress
- 2:11Speaker 3: in a special election. That happened. I think it was
- 2:15Speaker 3: like in February of this year, and I put up
- 2:17Speaker 3: the vote totals on my video, she won by less
- 2:20Speaker 3: than a thousand votes, so the take thick hundred non
- 2:25Speaker 3: Titian voted And oh my god. And by the way,
- 2:29Speaker 3: if we're not going to bend over backwards to protect
- 2:32Speaker 3: small population groups, then what's this whole trans movement about?
- 2:35Speaker 3: Why are we changing sports, why are we changing restrooms?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Why are we doing all that? If that's the way
- 2:40Speaker 3: you feel, Democrats, you should just let us know and
- 2:43Speaker 3: we'll stop bending over backwards. But Christopher Christopher Thompson, by
- 2:47Speaker 3: the way, with us as always, Kelly as always. And
- 2:51Speaker 3: I believe that after watching this is a lifetime I've
- 2:54Speaker 3: spent watching scandal's break and when somebody tried this is
- 2:59Speaker 3: clearly the new governor attempting to get out in front
- 3:02Speaker 3: of what I assume we're going to hear from the
- 3:04Speaker 3: next week or two. Are whistleblowers, people who are going
- 3:07Speaker 3: to say because the way this scandal started, according to her,
- 3:10Speaker 3: was there was some sort of problem in twenty twenty
- 3:12Speaker 3: three at the DMV where people were when you get
- 3:16Speaker 3: your driver's license, they ask would you like to become
- 3:19Speaker 3: a voter? As well? Sixty six hundred people allegedly said
- 3:23Speaker 3: I can't because I'm not a citizen, and they were
- 3:25Speaker 3: then registered anyway to vote, and somehow she was just
- 3:30Speaker 3: made aware of this on Wednesday last week, and now
- 3:33Speaker 3: their investigation has already wrapped up. It was just sixty
- 3:35Speaker 3: six hundred people that happened to. I'm telling you you're
- 3:38Speaker 3: going to add one, maybe two zeros to that. There's
- 3:42Speaker 3: going to be six hundred and sixty thousand or something
- 3:44Speaker 3: to that extent, because there's no way she just breaks
- 3:48Speaker 3: that news for no reason in the middle of the
- 3:50Speaker 3: Save America Act because she did she wanted to.
- 3:54Speaker 6: And does this, Kelly, does this finally end the debate
- 3:57Speaker 6: because for years now, every time Republicans mentioned election integrity
- 4:02Speaker 6: and saying, Okay, we got to get non citizens off
- 4:05Speaker 6: the voter rules, Democrats say, we already have laws in
- 4:08Speaker 6: place that prevent any non non citizens do not vote
- 4:12Speaker 6: in American elections, in federal elections. You know what, that's
- 4:17Speaker 6: that's been disproven right here.
- 4:19Speaker 3: They debunked themselves. But they always, like you say, they
- 4:22Speaker 3: always that's already been debunked. There's nobody voting who's not
- 4:25Speaker 3: supposed to be voting. She's going to double down on that.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna take a quick break and we'll come back.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I'll play you Mickey Charell breaking the news and how
- 4:35Speaker 3: flippant she is about it when the reporters start asking her,
- 4:38Speaker 3: and who's really to blame here? This is going to
- 4:40Speaker 3: be a surprise because it's not it's not the professor
- 4:44Speaker 3: in the in the library with the wrench. It's somebody
- 4:47Speaker 3: completely you would have never expected. It's guilty. She'll blame
- 4:51Speaker 3: the designated party. Next on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 4:55Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So, Yeah, yesterday, the new Jersey governor had a press
- 5:02Speaker 3: conference basically to say there's nothing to see here. I'm
- 5:05Speaker 3: having a press conference to tell you nothing has happened.
- 5:09Speaker 3: There's been a slight little malfunction at the Motor Vehicle
- 5:14Speaker 3: Department where it's only sixty six hundred people who are
- 5:17Speaker 3: non citizens her term, not mine, are registered to vote
- 5:21Speaker 3: in our elections, which are not supposed to be happening.
- 5:24Speaker 3: And so look, I just was made aware of it
- 5:27Speaker 3: last week. We've already fixed the problem. We don't think
- 5:30Speaker 3: anything's ever happened. And by the way, who's really to blame.
- 5:33Speaker 3: She's going to give us all that in more in
- 5:35Speaker 3: the next sixty seconds, which elections.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Were it is included was presidential and twenty where did
- 5:41Speaker 7: involve your election?
- 5:43Speaker 8: This happened between the started in twenty twenty three. It
- 5:48Speaker 8: was cut and stopped in twenty twenty four. However, we
- 5:52Speaker 8: are now actively working to remove those less than four
- 5:56Speaker 8: hundred voters from the roles. So potentially this have occurred.
- 6:01Speaker 8: They could have occurred in any election since the time
- 6:04Speaker 8: they were registered. I will be presenting the findings of
- 6:08Speaker 8: that investigation.
- 6:09Speaker 1: We have no.
- 6:10Speaker 8: Evidence at this time that any elections were swayed. I
- 6:15Speaker 8: think that Donald Trump has done more to undermine free
- 6:19Speaker 8: elections in this country than certainly anyone in my lifetime,
- 6:23Speaker 8: including Vladimir Putin. So certainly this is ongoing. He has
- 6:27Speaker 8: questioned called into question the twenty twenty election, which, let's recall,
- 6:31Speaker 8: his administration ran and had every tool available to the
- 6:35Speaker 8: federal government to run.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Well.
- 6:36Speaker 8: I guess they did not.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Christopher Thompson, My understanding of election laws is that the
- 6:42Speaker 3: states run their.
- 6:43Speaker 6: Elections unless the federal government has to step in.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Maybe they should in this case. So is Mickey Cherrell
- 6:51Speaker 3: blaming Donald Trump for the fact that there's a legals
- 6:53Speaker 3: voting in New Jersey right.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Now, Kelly, it certainly sounds like it.
- 6:57Speaker 3: My god, these people are shameless, absolutely shameless. And again
- 7:02Speaker 3: to my earlier point, if you're just getting started with
- 7:05Speaker 3: us right now on South Carolina's Morning News, the New
- 7:08Speaker 3: Jersey governor, I'm sure, had no interest in having a
- 7:11Speaker 3: press conference yesterday to announce that this is the beginning
- 7:16Speaker 3: of a slow rolling disaster. There is going to be
- 7:19Speaker 3: whistleblowers who are coming down the pike, and she's trying
- 7:22Speaker 3: to get out in front of it so that when
- 7:23Speaker 3: somebody comes forward and says, I work at the Department
- 7:26Speaker 3: of Motor Vehicles and I know for a fact that
- 7:29Speaker 3: we're registering illegals to the tunes of thousands, she's going
- 7:32Speaker 3: to say, and we disclosed that there was six thousand,
- 7:37Speaker 3: six hundred roughly that were registered. Perhaps you're the one
- 7:40Speaker 3: who registered the most. What are you even concerned about?
- 7:42Speaker 3: We've already addressed that. But it's not going to just
- 7:45Speaker 3: be one. It'll be two, and then it'll be ten,
- 7:47Speaker 3: and then it'll be one hundred. Because I am rather
- 7:50Speaker 3: certain that this practice has been happening in New Jersey
- 7:53Speaker 3: forever and to her earlier point of they didn't want
- 7:56Speaker 3: to because they're non citizens. My understanding is that non
- 8:00Speaker 3: citizens are not only allowed, but are encouraged to vote
- 8:04Speaker 3: in New Jersey in the local elections. So again the
- 8:09Speaker 3: Save America Act. The point of that is not to
- 8:12Speaker 3: overthrow the state's governance of a election. It's to make
- 8:17Speaker 3: sure that you have a One of the key provisions
- 8:20Speaker 3: I feel like is this idea that in order to
- 8:23Speaker 3: get into a federal election, you must have the voter ID.
- 8:27Speaker 3: If you want to vote in the mayor's race, you
- 8:29Speaker 3: want to vote for a town council member, if that's
- 8:32Speaker 3: what they want in their towns, you can do it.
- 8:34Speaker 3: But to step into an election booth where the president,
- 8:37Speaker 3: the Senator, the governor, well, the governor would be a
- 8:40Speaker 3: local election, but you know, any of the federal positions,
- 8:44Speaker 3: it's against the law and the way it's currently done
- 8:47Speaker 3: in California, Minnesota, Oregon, the list of all these liberal
- 8:51Speaker 3: places is we're just going to trust that you're not
- 8:54Speaker 3: going to pull that lever, that you're not going to
- 8:56Speaker 3: push the button for the federal You're going to go
- 8:58Speaker 3: in and you're just going to vote for the town
- 8:59Speaker 3: council member, but you're not going to vote for the
- 9:02Speaker 3: senators or the president or anything like that, which is
- 9:04Speaker 3: an asinine program, no doubt.
- 9:07Speaker 6: But yeah, trust but not verify, a turn on the
- 9:14Speaker 6: Reagan phrase, trust but not verify.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Christopher Thompson may have launched the new Democrat slogan for
- 9:20Speaker 3: twenty twenty six.
- 9:21Speaker 6: And again this flies in the face of everything Democrats
- 9:24Speaker 6: have been telling us for years, which is the law
- 9:26Speaker 6: provides already we don't have to worry about illegals voting
- 9:29Speaker 6: because the law already says they can't, so they won't.
- 9:34Speaker 3: My gosh, yes, again, there's no way she wanted to
- 9:37Speaker 3: have that press conference. And her attitude of Donald Trump
- 9:40Speaker 3: is to blame. He's the He's done more to undermine
- 9:43Speaker 3: elections than even Vladimir Putin. Oh my gosh. Yeah, okay,
- 9:48Speaker 3: well listen, I want to I want to get into
- 9:50Speaker 3: a break quickly here so that we can come back.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I want to play a snippet. I mean, I say snippet.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We'll go for about four or five minutes with Senate
- 9:58Speaker 3: candidate Mark Lynn. And I'm you know, by the way,
- 10:01Speaker 3: I'm wondering. You know, I was thinking about this yesterday.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I've seen some polls come out. By the way, Trey
- 10:07Speaker 3: Goudie's in first place and he's not even running. H interesting, but.
- 10:12Speaker 6: He still has a few more days to file if
- 10:13Speaker 6: he's these Bowl numbers.
- 10:17Speaker 3: But I was looking at uh, you know, obviously Mark
- 10:19Speaker 3: Lynch came in second place to Lindsay Graham in the
- 10:22Speaker 3: most recent primary. Does that now that Lindsay's gone, does
- 10:25Speaker 3: that mean that Mark Lynch is the de facto front runner.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:29Speaker 6: Can I answer no, absolutely not.
- 10:32Speaker 3: We'll see if this interview propels him into first place.
- 10:36Speaker 3: We'll get to play you a part of that coming
- 10:38Speaker 3: up on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You're listening to South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Hi there. Hope you're having a great start to your day.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Yesterday I got the opportunity to speak with Senate candidate
- 10:52Speaker 3: Mark Lynch, and you know, I find him to be,
- 10:57Speaker 3: you know, like anybody, he would be anybody who's running
- 10:59Speaker 3: for the Senate. In order to get that campaign put together,
- 11:02Speaker 3: that's an impressive feat. Most most Americans wouldn't be able
- 11:06Speaker 3: to even put together a team to run for Senate.
- 11:08Speaker 3: So just off that he's an impressive individual. I will
- 11:12Speaker 3: say that he does speak slower, and unfortunately, I think
- 11:17Speaker 3: that a lot of people are graded on their speech
- 11:20Speaker 3: patterns when that's not really a sign of intelligence or leadership.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I'll point out that in the Bible says that Moses
- 11:29Speaker 3: really couldn't speak. So if you hear the speech pattern
- 11:33Speaker 3: and you try to diminish him because of that, you
- 11:35Speaker 3: should factor that in that the speech pattern's not important.
- 11:38Speaker 3: What is the substance of what he's saying. I'll just
- 11:41Speaker 3: preface all that, and we started off yesterday with me
- 11:43Speaker 3: asking him why did you decide to primary Lindsey Graham
- 11:46Speaker 3: in the first place?
- 11:47Speaker 9: To talk about the record, and you know, everything points
- 11:51Speaker 9: in his voting record. Constitutionally he voted fifty seven percent
- 11:56Speaker 9: of the time the right way, and that's the kind
- 11:59Speaker 9: of records democrats have. That's his lifetime average.
- 12:03Speaker 3: When you say fifty seven percent of the right way,
- 12:05Speaker 3: is that based off of what a Heritage Foundation score
- 12:08Speaker 3: or where are we getting that from?
- 12:10Speaker 9: That's the Freedom Index that rates legislators on their constitutional
- 12:16Speaker 9: voting record.
- 12:17Speaker 3: The Freedom Index got it the Lindsey Graham campaign from
- 12:21Speaker 3: earlier this year. One of the endorsements that he had,
- 12:23Speaker 3: obviously was Donald Trump's and they would run that ad
- 12:26Speaker 3: a lot where Donald Trump was basically calling you a
- 12:29Speaker 3: lunatic and said something about you were trying to legalize
- 12:33Speaker 3: cocaine or something to that extent. Is your what is
- 12:35Speaker 3: your position on that?
- 12:37Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not that those are complete lives. I'm not
- 12:41Speaker 9: for legalizing cocaine. And they brought up an arrest record
- 12:46Speaker 9: that was forty two years ago. You know, I've gone
- 12:50Speaker 9: through the fire. I've had major obstacles and hurdles in
- 12:54Speaker 9: my life. I've come through them. I met my wife
- 12:58Speaker 9: in recovery. We're the furthest away from trying to legalize
- 13:04Speaker 9: illegal drugs, no way. You know, the biggest problem we
- 13:07Speaker 9: have is alcohol in this country. But we've done ministry
- 13:11Speaker 9: for forty years helping thousands of people in addiction struggles
- 13:15Speaker 9: come out of the lives of addiction into freedom in Christ.
- 13:18Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 13:19Speaker 9: That's a ministry that we have. And I'm a deacon
- 13:23Speaker 9: in our church. So I've been tested through fire and
- 13:28Speaker 9: I've come out an overcomer, and I know what perseverance
- 13:31Speaker 9: is about. And perseverance builds character, and we need people
- 13:35Speaker 9: with moral characters, godly character in our government to bring
- 13:40Speaker 9: back the foundations our country was founded on. Everybody's tired
- 13:44Speaker 9: of all the career politicians. I ran when Lindsay was
- 13:48Speaker 9: in office. Now we have people that were in the
- 13:51Speaker 9: House and they ran for governor and they lost, and
- 13:53Speaker 9: now they're running for US Senate and they claim they're
- 13:56Speaker 9: for term limits. That's garbage.
- 13:59Speaker 3: You know.
- 14:00Speaker 9: I'm somebody that wants to get in as a deacon,
- 14:03Speaker 9: a patriot, a debt free job creator for forty years,
- 14:06Speaker 9: growing a business thirty five times that my father started
- 14:10Speaker 9: back in nineteen fifty one. We'll be celebrating our seventy
- 14:15Speaker 9: fifth anniversary. And I have a proven track record and
- 14:19Speaker 9: fruit in my life, and I was asked to run.
- 14:22Speaker 9: I've never been in politics, but people know me in
- 14:25Speaker 9: the community as a leader, and we've been fighting on
- 14:28Speaker 9: the outside, trying to clean up the mess that these
- 14:32Speaker 9: all these people that are running against me, the rest
- 14:35Speaker 9: that are all politicians, like you know, handling the stuff
- 14:40Speaker 9: that happened during COVID nineteen. I had to fight to
- 14:43Speaker 9: keep my business open. We didn't wear masks, we didn't
- 14:46Speaker 9: social distance. It was a scamdemic and we saw the
- 14:49Speaker 9: truth in it, and our customers loved us for it,
- 14:52Speaker 9: and we lost hundreds of thousands of dollars holding the
- 14:56Speaker 9: line on that, but God blessed us for holding the line,
- 15:00Speaker 9: and later our business grew because they found out where
- 15:03Speaker 9: the place you can shop like normal.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Still all right, So if you want to hear the
- 15:07Speaker 3: rest of that interview, I do a daily podcast. It's
- 15:11Speaker 3: about a ten to fifteen minute podcast called the National
- 15:14Speaker 3: Briefing on the iHeartRadio app. And you spell that like
- 15:17Speaker 3: my name, Nash, the National Briefing, And that was one
- 15:21Speaker 3: of them from yesterday. Christopher. Any immediate reaction.
- 15:25Speaker 6: Well, I mean he's he makes some good points. I'll
- 15:29Speaker 6: give him that. You know, he sounds like a conservative.
- 15:33Speaker 6: I'm not sure what this freedom index is. I'm gonna
- 15:35Speaker 6: have to research that a little further. I had not
- 15:37Speaker 6: heard that one either. Yeah, so, I mean I think
- 15:39Speaker 6: most people know about the Heritage polls and what comes
- 15:44Speaker 6: out of that as far as conservatives go. But hey,
- 15:46Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, he speaks a little slower. I just
- 15:50Speaker 6: don't think he's I don't think he has any of
- 15:55Speaker 6: the backing. He's going to need to take his campaign
- 15:57Speaker 6: much farther. And I think we saw that in the
- 16:00Speaker 6: first election with Lindsay Graham.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Well, Darlene Graham's got a lot of attention lately, and
- 16:05Speaker 3: some of it's not so good. In the next hour,
- 16:08Speaker 3: in the seven o'clock hour, we're going to talk to
- 16:09Speaker 3: one of the GOP leaders in this state, who I
- 16:13Speaker 3: don't want to say opposes her, but has he says,
- 16:16Speaker 3: legal questions about her ability to run for office. We'll
- 16:19Speaker 3: break that down as more continues as we get your
- 16:22Speaker 3: day started. In any hey, if you have thoughts on
- 16:24Speaker 3: Mark Lynch or anybody else, we'd love to hear about him.
- 16:26Speaker 3: You use the talkback feature on the iHeartRadio app and
- 16:28Speaker 3: South Carolina's Morning News.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Your news, traffic, weather and information stations. This is South
- 16:35Speaker 2: Carolina's Morning News on one O three point five FM,
- 16:39Speaker 2: five sixty AM WVOC, and ninety four to three WSC
- 16:44Speaker 2: now Kelly Nash.
- 16:46Speaker 3: And if you've never seen me, I do not have
- 16:49Speaker 3: a strand of hair on my head, but stories like this, Christopher,
- 16:54Speaker 3: make me want to grow hair simply to pull it out.
- 16:58Speaker 3: We've got a judge in bustin yesterday. Well, first off,
- 17:01Speaker 3: let me take you back to was it just like
- 17:03Speaker 3: a week or two ago that the United States Supreme
- 17:05Speaker 3: Court ruled that the Trump administration first off, had passed
- 17:12Speaker 3: a constitutional law and that they could remove people what
- 17:18Speaker 3: they call temporary protected status, and they specifically were addressing
- 17:22Speaker 3: two groups, Haitian and Syrian immigrants, and they could start
- 17:26Speaker 3: being deported immediately. However, on the heels of that, a
- 17:32Speaker 3: lawsuit was filed for other migrant groups. It's called Democracy Forward,
- 17:38Speaker 3: and they filed this in Boston, which of course is
- 17:41Speaker 3: like one of the most liberal places on earth, and
- 17:44Speaker 3: they found a very tenderhearted judge Nathaniel Gorton, who yesterday
- 17:51Speaker 3: ruled with the immigrant rights group that he is now
- 17:55Speaker 3: halting it. He's just going to halt the program. Now,
- 17:58Speaker 3: this is not on the Haitians or the Syrians. This
- 18:00Speaker 3: would be for everybody else El Salvador, Sudan, Ukraine, anybody
- 18:05Speaker 3: else who's in the TPS category, they can not be
- 18:11Speaker 3: What was the words that they used. Basically, what was
- 18:14Speaker 3: going to happen beginning today was that people who employed
- 18:18Speaker 3: people with TPS status they were going to have to
- 18:23Speaker 3: recheck that to see if they were still valid, and
- 18:25Speaker 3: if they weren't, they were going to have to kick
- 18:28Speaker 3: them off the payroll. So the Democracy Forward president sky
- 18:32Speaker 3: Perriman said in a statement that this ruling ensures that
- 18:36Speaker 3: tens of thousands of people will not lose their livelihoods,
- 18:39Speaker 3: and that the judge has now said that he will
- 18:44Speaker 3: sit on this Basically, I will decide at a later date,
- 18:49Speaker 3: possibly in August, as to whether or not to permanently
- 18:53Speaker 3: ban this from happening. Who the flip is this guy?
- 18:56Speaker 6: And what happens if one of these people commits a crime,
- 19:00Speaker 6: a serious crime? Oh my gosh, what about if it's
- 19:02Speaker 6: a crime of violence? While he sits on this decision.
- 19:07Speaker 3: It's I just don't under didn't we have a ruling
- 19:12Speaker 3: like I feel like in twenty twenty four, maybe twenty
- 19:15Speaker 3: twenty five, there was a ruling that said these temporary
- 19:19Speaker 3: injunctions from district courts could not be applied nationally. What
- 19:24Speaker 3: happened to that? I don't know.
- 19:26Speaker 6: And this temporary status, it's it's for people who are here.
- 19:29Speaker 6: They're being protected if their homeland is under a catastrophe
- 19:33Speaker 6: or you know, their war or a natural disaster of
- 19:36Speaker 6: some sort, they come temporarily. I mean the first word
- 19:41Speaker 6: is temporary. And that temporary status said to be up
- 19:45Speaker 6: by the Trump administration, and suddenly they go to court it's.
- 19:49Speaker 3: It's really unbelievable. And you know, if to your point,
- 19:53Speaker 3: should we just take in all of Venezuela right now,
- 19:56Speaker 3: since they were all destroyed in a horrific earthquake, should
- 20:01Speaker 3: we just take everybody in from Venezuela temporarily for the
- 20:04Speaker 3: next thirty years while they rebuild their country.
- 20:07Speaker 6: I mean, we just don't have the infrastructure. We want
- 20:09Speaker 6: to help the world, but we don't have the infrastructure
- 20:11Speaker 6: to do that. We try and help where we can.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's these little district court judges. They sure do
- 20:18Speaker 3: have a lot of cajonies. Anyway, That's what happened yesterday.
- 20:21Speaker 3: So if you have TPS and you're happening to be
- 20:23Speaker 3: waking up with us, you're eligible to stay longer, apparently.
- 20:27Speaker 3: And congratulations on your big victory. All right, the good
- 20:31Speaker 3: This is one of the stories that makes me feel great.
- 20:34Speaker 3: We're going to get into that in just a minute.
- 20:35Speaker 3: This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 20:37Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News on one O three
- 20:40Speaker 2: point five FM and five sixty AM WVOC Columbia and
- 20:46Speaker 2: ninety four to three WSC Charleston.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Now, Kelly Nash.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Years ago, I thought I might make the segue into television,
- 20:56Speaker 3: and for a short period of time I worked at
- 20:58Speaker 3: the CBS of philm in Columbia, WLTX while also doing radio,
- 21:03Speaker 3: and one of my former coworkers there, she was a
- 21:07Speaker 3: youngster just making her way in the world out of college.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Her name is Alyssa Lang, and she's done much better
- 21:15Speaker 3: in life than I did professionally. She has certainly gone
- 21:18Speaker 3: very far and now is one of the leading voices
- 21:21Speaker 3: covering SEC football for the SEC Network, well SEC athletics
- 21:26Speaker 3: in general. Anyway, yesterday she posted this. I just interviewed
- 21:30Speaker 3: Nicholas Harber and right after we finished, he saw former
- 21:33Speaker 3: Gamecock quarterback Stephen Garcia standing off to the side by himself.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Garcia's currently battling cancer. Nick asked if he could pray
- 21:42Speaker 3: with him. They embraced, they said a prayer together. This
- 21:45Speaker 3: is a really touching moment, Christopher. I read that and
- 21:48Speaker 3: it was not I mean, I don't know where the
- 21:50Speaker 3: moisture came from, but there was some moisture in the
- 21:53Speaker 3: area yesterday. I can't believe that Stephen Garcia is in
- 21:58Speaker 3: this position right now, but of the fact that Nick
- 22:01Speaker 3: Harbor and by the way, Stephen Garcia, for those of
- 22:03Speaker 3: you who you know, kind of knew him back in
- 22:05Speaker 3: the day when he was here. Completely different guy today
- 22:09Speaker 3: than he was when he was playing for the game Cocks.
- 22:12Speaker 6: Well you would hope. So yeah, I mean we all
- 22:14Speaker 6: grow up. But he had some well known college run
- 22:17Speaker 6: ins in his day, specifically under Steve Spurry or wound
- 22:21Speaker 6: of getting kicked off the team. But yeah, he's a
- 22:23Speaker 6: much different person today and that battle with cancer.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Were certainly all rooting for him. Yeah. I think Patrick
- 22:28Speaker 3: DeMarco has had a huge impact on Stevens spiritually, along
- 22:32Speaker 3: with some other guys as well. What was the name
- 22:34Speaker 3: of the quarterback that we had for a year who
- 22:36Speaker 3: was the backup and then he played one year and
- 22:38Speaker 3: then he went. He's like in football, he played, he's
- 22:41Speaker 3: in the NFL, not as a player, but he's like
- 22:43Speaker 3: a spiritual coach or something. Now I can't remember his name.
- 22:47Speaker 3: He was the backup who won. He won that one
- 22:50Speaker 3: game I think against Clemson that year when when Connor
- 22:54Speaker 3: Shaw was hurt.
- 22:56Speaker 6: Oh uh, thinking thinking thinking yeah, guy, yeah, I know.
- 23:01Speaker 3: You're look at it. Look at up. Tell you he
- 23:03Speaker 3: was a legend when it happened. And now it's like
- 23:05Speaker 3: that dude, you know the guy. Anyway. I just love
- 23:07Speaker 3: that story and if you want to see more Grid
- 23:10Speaker 3: new stories will be posting the villain Thompson. Dylan Thompson,
- 23:13Speaker 3: you pulled it out. Thank you, Christopher Thompson. I know
- 23:17Speaker 3: that can always count on you, all right, but yeah,
- 23:20Speaker 3: I love that story and we're all praying, like you said,
- 23:22Speaker 3: Christopher for uh former Game Cup great Stephen Garcia from.
- 23:26Speaker 2: The Midlands to the low Country. This is South Carolina's
- 23:30Speaker 2: morning news on one O three point five FM and
- 23:33Speaker 2: five sixty AM WVOC and ninety four to three WSC.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Now here's Kelly Nash.
- 23:41Speaker 3: It's like nothing happened yesterday at the State House. When
- 23:43Speaker 3: I look at the Posting Courier front page today, at
- 23:46Speaker 3: least digitally top stories. North Charleston drops plan to allow
- 23:51Speaker 3: short term rental permit. Charleston area salmon smokehouse has roots
- 23:55Speaker 3: in England, and the residents of the Bishop Gadsden Retirement
- 24:00Speaker 3: Community race radio control sailboats. So nothing there regarding the
- 24:04Speaker 3: State House. I go over to the Post and Courier
- 24:07Speaker 3: man charged with murder after five point shooting. Victim dies
- 24:11Speaker 3: Officials at South Carolina private school leader charged with criminal
- 24:14Speaker 3: sexual assault South Carolina agency proposed charging man two point
- 24:20Speaker 3: four million for school pollution records. Again, nothing really happening
- 24:24Speaker 3: at the state House, but there was some massive news
- 24:27Speaker 3: happening at the state House yesterday. So we'll have to
- 24:30Speaker 3: Christopher Thompson and I will break that down. We're also
- 24:33Speaker 3: going to have a South Carolina GOP official who has
- 24:38Speaker 3: legal concerns about Darlene Graham appearing on the ballot in
- 24:44Speaker 3: a couple of weeks. So did she file yesterday, Christopher
- 24:46Speaker 3: to we know, I don't know that she did.
- 24:48Speaker 6: There were several names that we had never heard of
- 24:50Speaker 6: before that did file.
- 24:52Speaker 3: If you've got ten dollars in a dream, you may
- 24:56Speaker 3: be at least your name will be on a ballot. True.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I mean my name's never been on the ballot for
- 25:01Speaker 3: well anything.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Who had heard of Clark Nielsen or Samuel Sheppard until yesterday.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I thought they were a duo from the sixties.
- 25:10Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Again, as I look at the local news, maybe somebody
- 25:19Speaker 3: has seen it elsewhere one of the local TVs. I
- 25:22Speaker 3: have not found it what happened yesterday at the State House.
- 25:26Speaker 3: But again that's not I can't see everything at all times,
- 25:29Speaker 3: but I will tell you I do follow an account
- 25:32Speaker 3: called the South Carolina Policy Council, and I think that
- 25:36Speaker 3: they do a great job of covering the State House.
- 25:41Speaker 3: So yesterday at one o'clock, they were back in session
- 25:45Speaker 3: and they were trying to figure out what are we
- 25:48Speaker 3: going to do about these earmarks? Now, the Senate is
- 25:51Speaker 3: pretty much said, for a while, this is out of control,
- 25:54Speaker 3: we don't want it. The House is like, ah, you
- 25:57Speaker 3: ain't cutting off that pork. So the way this went
- 26:01Speaker 3: down yesterday, the first post came out at about two o'clock.
- 26:05Speaker 3: The House is now offered to cut all non profit
- 26:09Speaker 3: ear marks that would save about seventeen million dollars for
- 26:13Speaker 3: the taxpayer and House ear marks. The Senate responded to
- 26:18Speaker 3: that and they said that they are willing to fund
- 26:21Speaker 3: your house ear marks again, these are the nonprofit ear marks,
- 26:26Speaker 3: but we're only going to go up to two hundred
- 26:27Speaker 3: and fifty thousand dollars or less. So pretty much it's
- 26:29Speaker 3: a blank check for any pork project that these House
- 26:32Speaker 3: members have for two hundred and fifty thousand or less
- 26:35Speaker 3: and partially fund the remaining ear marks up to a
- 26:39Speaker 3: pot of one hundred and seventy three million dollars. Now
- 26:42Speaker 3: I would have thought that the House would jump at
- 26:45Speaker 3: that that. Oh my god, we got one hundred and
- 26:48Speaker 3: seventy three million plus the two hundred and fifty thousand
- 26:50Speaker 3: or less. Boy, this is we're talking about hundreds of
- 26:53Speaker 3: millions of dollars that we got. No, they want it all.
- 26:56Speaker 3: They wanted all Christopher, they they ended it with no
- 27:00Speaker 3: agreement yesterday. This is an unbelievable just a money grab.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Is that what we call it?
- 27:08Speaker 6: Well, it's I mean, it's money that's out there and
- 27:11Speaker 6: they're grabbing it for their pet projects in their particular districts.
- 27:16Speaker 6: One of the problems the Senate has with the House
- 27:18Speaker 6: is a lot of these earmarks came late in the session,
- 27:21Speaker 6: so a lot of people didn't even have a chance
- 27:23Speaker 6: to hear much about Okay, why are you touting this?
- 27:26Speaker 6: What benefits does this particular project bring to South Carolina taxpayers? Instead,
- 27:32Speaker 6: they got pushed in late.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So again, if you fall if you want to follow
- 27:37Speaker 3: this account on X it's just the sc Policy Council,
- 27:41Speaker 3: so as they document, you know, in real time what's
- 27:45Speaker 3: happening at the State House. Yesterday, the committee recedes until
- 27:51Speaker 3: one pm tomorrow. Has the Senate? How has that? That's
- 27:54Speaker 3: the great question? How is the Senate not just walked
- 27:57Speaker 3: away at this point? Then? The final tweet of the
- 28:00Speaker 3: day came at about six o'clock last night. Quote the
- 28:05Speaker 3: House is not going quietly into the night. They are
- 28:09Speaker 3: now intent on preventing seniors from getting a homestead exemption
- 28:15Speaker 3: expansion and spending as many taxpayer dollars as possible on
- 28:19Speaker 3: quote unquote community projects. The Budget Conference Committee will be
- 28:23Speaker 3: back in session Wednesday one pm. Now might be a
- 28:27Speaker 3: good time to contact your House member, I would think.
- 28:30Speaker 6: I mean, well, there's only three on each side. Three
- 28:32Speaker 6: House members and three Senate members are the ones who
- 28:35Speaker 6: are deciding all this.
- 28:36Speaker 3: But if you contacted your House member, whoever he or
- 28:39Speaker 3: she may be, and said to them like, well, mine
- 28:43Speaker 3: probably wouldn't give a rip that Bernstein probably doesn't care
- 28:46Speaker 3: what I say. But but in just say, put some
- 28:50Speaker 3: pressure on those three. You're hearing from your constituents today.
- 28:54Speaker 3: They don't want this to be dragged out. This is
- 28:58Speaker 3: this is beyond frustrating. Again, if you're a school teacher,
- 29:02Speaker 3: if you're a senior with Medicare, Medicaid issues, all of
- 29:05Speaker 3: these types of things. I don't want to say that
- 29:07Speaker 3: sits in the balance. I don't want to over dramatize it.
- 29:09Speaker 3: But at the same time, we heard yesterday Medicare and
- 29:12Speaker 3: Medicaid in South Carolina. They are now into reserve funding
- 29:15Speaker 3: and they're not sure how they're going to continue moving forward.
- 29:18Speaker 3: They're looking for alternate solutions to the State House actually
- 29:22Speaker 3: funding the programs. At the same time, you've brought up
- 29:24Speaker 3: the fact that the school districts in South Carolina have
- 29:27Speaker 3: to pay these pay increases, but they're going to have
- 29:30Speaker 3: to end up cutting something else if the State House
- 29:33Speaker 3: doesn't meet its obligations.
- 29:34Speaker 6: Or reaching into their reserves as well, which a lot
- 29:36Speaker 6: of school districts have huge reserves, but some in our
- 29:40Speaker 6: poor areas have no reserves. So yeah, And if you
- 29:44Speaker 6: want the names on the House side, it's Bruce Banister,
- 29:47Speaker 6: who's the House Ways and Means Committee Chairman, Jackie Hayes,
- 29:51Speaker 6: and Davy Hyatt. On the Senate side, it's Harvey Peeler,
- 29:55Speaker 6: Tom Davis, and Brad Huddo. Those are the six men,
- 29:59Speaker 6: three from the Senate, three from the House. We're making
- 30:01Speaker 6: all these decisions, and who can't get together on a
- 30:04Speaker 6: final decision.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Brad Huddo's a Democrat, correct, correct, Yeah, But from what
- 30:09Speaker 3: I've met Brad several times, centrist kind of Democrat, and
- 30:13Speaker 3: so good for him for kind of holding the line
- 30:16Speaker 3: on this House spending is insane and I just don't
- 30:21Speaker 3: know why this is not bigger news around the state
- 30:23Speaker 3: of South Carolina that we are kind of in a
- 30:26Speaker 3: stalemate because it appears that the South Carolina House just
- 30:30Speaker 3: wants a blank check to blow it however they want.
- 30:34Speaker 3: And at the same time, quote they are intent on
- 30:37Speaker 3: preventing seniors from getting a homestead exemption expansion.
- 30:41Speaker 6: It sounds like the final solution is going to be
- 30:44Speaker 6: no earmarks for anyone and that homestead tax exemption gets
- 30:48Speaker 6: thrown by the wayside too.
- 30:50Speaker 3: They're almost the South Carolina House is now reverting to
- 30:54Speaker 3: like IRGC methods. We're gonna just start blowing up neighborhoods
- 30:59Speaker 3: or whatever until we get our way. Oh my gosh,
- 31:02Speaker 3: don't let these people near the strait of horror moves.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I'll tell you that anyway. If you have thoughts on
- 31:07Speaker 3: that story, let us know. On the talkback feature coming
- 31:09Speaker 3: up next, we're going to talk to the head of
- 31:12Speaker 3: the Dorchester County Republicans who has He's going to voice
- 31:16Speaker 3: his concerns about Darlene Graham and her Senate run. We'll
- 31:20Speaker 3: talk about that and more as South Carolina's Morning News
- 31:22Speaker 3: rolls on.
- 31:23Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I saw CJ. Westfall on social media talking about his
- 31:31Speaker 3: concerns about Darlene Graham's candidacy for the Senate. It's one
- 31:36Speaker 3: thing to be a placeholder, it's another to actually run
- 31:38Speaker 3: for the office. He is the chair of the Dorchester
- 31:41Speaker 3: County Republicans And is this basically just a technical issue.
- 31:46Speaker 7: I think it's a technical issue where the Republican Party,
- 31:49Speaker 7: specifically led by Drew McKissick, wanted to put himself in
- 31:53Speaker 7: between the voters and the candidate. He wanted to insert
- 31:57Speaker 7: himself and have candidates like Arleen go and ask permission
- 32:01Speaker 7: from party insiders whether they could appear on the ballot
- 32:04Speaker 7: or not. I think the power should be with the people,
- 32:07Speaker 7: not with those party insiders. So the reason I'm raising
- 32:09Speaker 7: this point is is now that the party insiders fought
- 32:13Speaker 7: so hard to have this rule change within the Republican Party,
- 32:17Speaker 7: I'm asking them to be consistent and lie in the
- 32:20Speaker 7: bed that they made Wow. C J.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Westfall, I'm not making any friends at the state level
- 32:25Speaker 3: with the GOP. Apparently, Wow. Drew McKissick. If he's listening,
- 32:28Speaker 3: and he does listen, good morning, Drew, And what does
- 32:31Speaker 3: he have to say.
- 32:32Speaker 7: I think Drew is a reasonable guy and I supported
- 32:34Speaker 7: him at the last convention. So this isn't anything personal.
- 32:37Speaker 7: He's just wrong. And the rule that was just passed
- 32:40Speaker 7: less than thirty days ago, Kelly, it says two of
- 32:44Speaker 7: the last three statewide primaries that Canon has to have
- 32:47Speaker 7: voted in in order to appear on the ballot or
- 32:50Speaker 7: they need a waiver. So I went and looked, and
- 32:53Speaker 7: she voted in the twenty twenty six Republican primary. She
- 32:57Speaker 7: didn't vote in the twenty twenty four presidential primaries. She
- 33:00Speaker 7: did get up and vote for Katrina Sheeley in the
- 33:03Speaker 7: twenty twenty four runoff primaries. So what they're going to
- 33:07Speaker 7: try to do, what Drew is going to do when
- 33:09Speaker 7: they finally start answering media requests, is they're going to say,
- 33:14Speaker 7: we're going to interpret this twenty twenty four runoff as
- 33:17Speaker 7: a statewide primary. So that's going to set a totally
- 33:20Speaker 7: new precedent. I think it could potentially be challenged in
- 33:23Speaker 7: court because obviously a local state senate election is not
- 33:26Speaker 7: a statewide Republican primary.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Talking with CJ. Westfall, chairperson for the Dorchester County Republicans
- 33:33Speaker 3: and in your estimation, Drew McKissick, and the Republican Party
- 33:37Speaker 3: is going to have to issue a waiver. And that
- 33:39Speaker 3: seems to be rubbing you a little bit the wrong
- 33:42Speaker 3: way because whenever you use the phrase like political insiders,
- 33:46Speaker 3: that gets everybody's attention. They don't like that phrase.
- 33:50Speaker 7: What they're telegraphing through their folks And I could be
- 33:53Speaker 7: wrong on this, and I'm happy to eat growth I
- 33:55Speaker 7: am is that their rules committee is going to interpret,
- 33:58Speaker 7: like I mentioned, that runoff vote as a statewide primary vote.
- 34:03Speaker 7: So they're trying to avoid the waiver process altogether. They're
- 34:06Speaker 7: trying to have a group of insiders within a group
- 34:09Speaker 7: of insiders decide that yes, she meets the requirement even
- 34:14Speaker 7: though she doesn't on paper. I would encourage them to
- 34:16Speaker 7: do the right thing while the eyes of the country
- 34:18Speaker 7: are on us. Everybody's following this story. It's a tragic
- 34:21Speaker 7: loss of Senator Graham, and the internet has found her
- 34:24Speaker 7: only ever political donation to a woman by the name
- 34:28Speaker 7: of Katrina Sheeley, who used to be a state senator, who,
- 34:31Speaker 7: by the way, is a very nice and lovely person
- 34:33Speaker 7: outside of politics, and have nothing against her at all,
- 34:36Speaker 7: but she was one of the famous sister Senators who
- 34:39Speaker 7: vehemently opposed the current six week heartbeat bill abortion band
- 34:46Speaker 7: that has saved thousands of lives in South Carolina. She
- 34:50Speaker 7: rose to national prominence. There is a documentary about Katrina,
- 34:54Speaker 7: and the only political donation that Darlene's ever given was
- 34:56Speaker 7: to her, and she couldn't be bothered to go vote
- 34:59Speaker 7: in the twenty twenty four presidential primary for President Trump
- 35:03Speaker 7: or even for Nicky Haley. But when Katrina Sheeley really
- 35:05Speaker 7: needed her in that runoff, she got up and voted
- 35:07Speaker 7: for And so that I think is going to become
- 35:10Speaker 7: the major question in the coming days, in the coming weeks,
- 35:13Speaker 7: when we see all these candidates like Ralph Norman, Russell Fry,
- 35:16Speaker 7: maybe Mark Sanford and some others, voters are going to
- 35:20Speaker 7: want to prove in conservatives, somebody that represents their values.
- 35:24Speaker 7: Voters are happy with that six week band, They're happy
- 35:26Speaker 7: with saving babies, And I would be very surprised if
- 35:29Speaker 7: that didn't come up during that primary process.
- 35:32Speaker 3: All right, that is CJ. Westfall, the chair of the
- 35:36Speaker 3: Dorchester County Republican Party. If you have thoughts on what
- 35:39Speaker 3: he just said, I'd love to hear about him on
- 35:41Speaker 3: the talkback feature. Christopher and I will talk about it
- 35:44Speaker 3: next on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 35:46Speaker 2: You're listening to South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 35:51Speaker 3: That interview I just you just heard with CJ. Westfall,
- 35:54Speaker 3: the chairperson of the Dorchester County Republicans. That was done yesterday,
- 35:58Speaker 3: and you can hear the entire hire fifteen minute or
- 36:01Speaker 3: so podcast on my daily podcast called the National Briefing,
- 36:05Speaker 3: which is on the iHeartRadio app. Just look for a
- 36:07Speaker 3: national spell like my name and Ash. But Christopher Thompson,
- 36:12Speaker 3: I had not heard that at that point. About the
- 36:15Speaker 3: only donation she's ever made was to Katrina Sheeley. That
- 36:19Speaker 3: is now you know, Yahoo News and others have picked
- 36:22Speaker 3: that up since then.
- 36:23Speaker 6: That is news because we don't know anything about Darlene
- 36:27Speaker 6: Graham's political beliefs. We know nothing about her. That was
- 36:31Speaker 6: what we said yesterday. So it came as such a
- 36:34Speaker 6: surprise that Trump endorsed her, and she decided to jump
- 36:37Speaker 6: into this race because we didn't think she was even
- 36:39Speaker 6: a political person. She was simply the sister of a politician.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Speaking of sister, that is the sister senators is what
- 36:47Speaker 3: they were referencing. And for those of you who don't remember,
- 36:50Speaker 3: by the way, how funny was it that they got
- 36:52Speaker 3: the what was it called the John F. Kennedy courage
- 36:55Speaker 3: or files encourage? Yeah, and Mia mcleoud and Margie Bright
- 36:59Speaker 3: Matthews were both Democrats. There was no courage in them
- 37:03Speaker 3: opposing an abortion band. But I mean, if you want,
- 37:06Speaker 3: if you want to say it was courageous for Republicans
- 37:10Speaker 3: to do that, I would say that they were going
- 37:12Speaker 3: against the will of their voters, which is really what
- 37:15Speaker 3: you're supposed to do when you're a representative. But I
- 37:18Speaker 3: can see where you could also perceive that as courage.
- 37:21Speaker 3: They were trying to lead Republicans into a more open
- 37:24Speaker 3: minded arena of abortion. I'll say so. Penny Gustafson from Kershaw,
- 37:32Speaker 3: Sandy Sen from Charleston, and Katrina Sheeley from Lexington. And
- 37:35Speaker 3: I appreciated Cjy's description of Katrina because I've met her
- 37:39Speaker 3: many times. She is a very lovely person, and I
- 37:44Speaker 3: just I disagreed with her vehemently on her position regarding that,
- 37:50Speaker 3: and I.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Voter voters in her district did too, because they wound
- 37:53Speaker 6: up voting her out of office.
- 37:54Speaker 3: And I don't know if Lindsey would have even known
- 37:58Speaker 3: that she was supporting Trina Shiey in that capacity, because
- 38:02Speaker 3: I have co hosted for I don't know, five six
- 38:06Speaker 3: years at least, the Citizens for Life dinner here in Columbia,
- 38:11Speaker 3: and Lindsay has always been there. Lindsay Graham is always
- 38:15Speaker 3: one of the speakers at the Citizens for Life and
- 38:17Speaker 3: he was very pushing. I mean, this was the beginning
- 38:20Speaker 3: for him. We wanted to go all the way. And
- 38:23Speaker 3: so for his sister to support financially only one candidate
- 38:27Speaker 3: in history, not even he got a dollar. It was
- 38:30Speaker 3: only Katrina Show. Now I understand that Katrina Sheey and
- 38:32Speaker 3: her friends, and maybe she wasn't even looking at to
- 38:35Speaker 3: your point. She's not very very political. Possibly and she
- 38:38Speaker 3: was like, that's my friend, So I'm supporting my friend.
- 38:40Speaker 3: My friend said she needed some help. I gave her
- 38:42Speaker 3: one hundred dollars to help. I don't see what the
- 38:44Speaker 3: big deal is, Okay, maybe.
- 38:46Speaker 6: Will that's the only record we have of her at
- 38:48Speaker 6: this point politically.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Yes, that's why the South Carolina Ethics Committee has put
- 38:52Speaker 3: out regarding her campaign contributions. So we're I'm hoping to
- 38:57Speaker 3: get her on the show soon and we'll ask her
- 39:01Speaker 3: about that obviously, if she's wanting to come on'd love
- 39:03Speaker 3: to have her perspectives on that, and love to have
- 39:06Speaker 3: your perspectives as well. That's why we have the talkback
- 39:08Speaker 3: feature on the iHeartRadio app. More Next on South Carolina's
- 39:12Speaker 3: Morning News.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Your news, traffic, weather and information stations. This is South
- 39:18Speaker 2: Carolina's Morning News on one O three point five FM,
- 39:21Speaker 2: five sixty AM WVOC, and ninety four to three WUSC.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Now Kelly Nash.
- 39:29Speaker 3: The Secretary of War Pete Hegseth I told lawmakers yesterday
- 39:36Speaker 3: that the cost so far for the Iranian offensive, well, god,
- 39:42Speaker 3: I don't know about thirty seven and a half billion
- 39:45Speaker 3: dollars is what we spent on that so far. That's
- 39:49Speaker 3: a lot of money. More importantly, the Pentagon now has
- 39:52Speaker 3: identified a fourth service member killed in recent days. We
- 39:57Speaker 3: had the eleventh consecutive night of strike. But just before
- 40:02Speaker 3: those strikes began, one of the IRGC leaders. I would
- 40:05Speaker 3: play you the audio, but obviously you wouldn't understand it.
- 40:09Speaker 3: But he was saying in essence that because the United
- 40:14Speaker 3: States has hit some of the Iranian IRGC leaders in
- 40:20Speaker 3: their residences, they are now going to be targeting our
- 40:23Speaker 3: leaders in their residences. Now that's obviously a lot of bruhaha,
- 40:28Speaker 3: because they've been talking for months about how they were
- 40:30Speaker 3: going to blow up the White House. So they've always
- 40:34Speaker 3: wanted to kill our leaders wherever they could find our leaders,
- 40:37Speaker 3: and they want to kill and they've targeted last night
- 40:39Speaker 3: another desalientation plant. They are going after civilians. The Iranians
- 40:45Speaker 3: are flailing around attacking anything and everything. I thought it
- 40:49Speaker 3: was interesting, Christopher, that a lot of the attacks that
- 40:51Speaker 3: the United States did last night came at the very
- 40:55Speaker 3: top of what you would call the Strait of Hormuz.
- 40:58Speaker 3: It's kind of on the rack. Iraq and Kuwait and
- 41:02Speaker 3: Iran kind of meet at the tippity top of the
- 41:06Speaker 3: Persian excuse me, of the straight of Horn moves, and
- 41:09Speaker 3: that's where we saw a lot of flights going. And
- 41:12Speaker 3: as Trump said, there's no military basically to stop them,
- 41:15Speaker 3: so they're just having their way. I'm wondering if this
- 41:20Speaker 3: is the plan to try to open up those pipelines
- 41:23Speaker 3: and stuff and get the shipping. We're going to just
- 41:25Speaker 3: start at the top and then work our way down.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Any thoughts from you so far on this.
- 41:30Speaker 6: Well, I mean that strategy sounds like a smart one
- 41:33Speaker 6: at this point, because that's and I thought Democrats raised
- 41:36Speaker 6: a fair point yesterday, and that peak Hexath hearing the
- 41:40Speaker 6: fact that didn't they know going into this conflict that
- 41:44Speaker 6: the straight of horror moves would be threatened and that
- 41:46Speaker 6: we would have, you know, supply lines threatened. And Hexith
- 41:51Speaker 6: didn't really have a great answer for that other than
- 41:53Speaker 6: the fact that they're working to try and keep the
- 41:56Speaker 6: straight open. But you know that was if you were
- 41:59Speaker 6: going to go into war with Iran. I mean, you
- 42:03Speaker 6: knew that was going to be in play. And we
- 42:05Speaker 6: said we had a solution. We heard that from several
- 42:08Speaker 6: Trump administration officials, but whatever solution we had didn't work.
- 42:12Speaker 3: And it's it's interesting because I you and I both
- 42:17Speaker 3: love sports. You obviously more than me know more about sports,
- 42:20Speaker 3: being the sports director and following it your entire life.
- 42:23Speaker 3: But like when fans or just even like Pop Warner
- 42:27Speaker 3: football guys criticize NFL or college football coaches. It's like, bro,
- 42:33Speaker 3: they know exactly what they're doing. Yeah, so they knew
- 42:36Speaker 3: the costs, they knew the risks. And when we're talking
- 42:38Speaker 3: about the United States military, and we have a lot
- 42:41Speaker 3: of military members who are listening to us, sure, I'm
- 42:44Speaker 3: sure you that they would they would understand. They would
- 42:47Speaker 3: say that it's not Donald Trump making the call on
- 42:50Speaker 3: how we're going to open the straight it's the military leaders,
- 42:54Speaker 3: the generals, the admirals, those people who have been in
- 42:57Speaker 3: position now for decades and they have studied this and
- 43:00Speaker 3: have kind of been trying to counterattack this idea for years.
- 43:05Speaker 3: What if they do that, It's like a chess game.
- 43:07Speaker 3: They're gonna they're gonna have these little what I call
- 43:09Speaker 3: the NAT Navy, these little power boats that they go
- 43:12Speaker 3: around dropping off these little things into the water that
- 43:14Speaker 3: make boats go boom? And how do we stop that?
- 43:17Speaker 3: And it's not an easy answer. It's kind of like
- 43:20Speaker 3: how do you stop Clemson's offense when it's firing on
- 43:22Speaker 3: all cylinders? I don't know, but we we have a plan.
- 43:25Speaker 3: It's just not working right now.
- 43:26Speaker 6: Yeah, the plan, whatever the plan was, and we never
- 43:29Speaker 6: heard what the plan was. It didn't work because the
- 43:33Speaker 6: strait immediately became an issue and is continuing to be
- 43:36Speaker 6: an issue. So if that's the Trump administration attack from
- 43:39Speaker 6: here on out is get the straight open at all costs,
- 43:43Speaker 6: I'm for it.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah. And again, four military members in the recent days
- 43:49Speaker 3: have been killed. That is the one that really bothered.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I mean the thirty seven and a half billion, those
- 43:55Speaker 3: numbers are you know, they just kind of go over
- 43:57Speaker 3: our heads, like we don't even how much debt do
- 43:59Speaker 3: we have thirty seven trillion in debt and we just
- 44:02Speaker 3: spent thirty seven billion on this whatever. Whatever. Everybody's just
- 44:05Speaker 3: like what evs. But when you start talking about military
- 44:07Speaker 3: members are dying, that's when. And again they're doing this
- 44:11Speaker 3: on purpose. It's not like Iran as like saying, oh, well,
- 44:14Speaker 3: we're not going to target civilians and we're not going
- 44:16Speaker 3: to target because we heard yesterday, was it Rory that
- 44:18Speaker 3: was on yesterday or was it two days ago where
- 44:20Speaker 3: he was talking about the travel advisory for US citizens
- 44:23Speaker 3: even in like Spain and places like that, because they
- 44:27Speaker 3: can hit those places and they are going to be
- 44:29Speaker 3: targeting you. They want to kill Americans so that the
- 44:32Speaker 3: American public says to the Trump administration, you got to
- 44:35Speaker 3: get the hell out. We just don't want you there.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Do we want to finish the job or not. I'd
- 44:40Speaker 3: be interested in your thoughts. Do you want the US
- 44:43Speaker 3: military to bear down and take care of this once
- 44:46Speaker 3: and for all? Do you even think it's possible? Or
- 44:49Speaker 3: would you rather it's just like we said before, just
- 44:51Speaker 3: back off and say, you know what, let the people
- 44:53Speaker 3: in the Gulf States figure this thing out. About the
- 44:54Speaker 3: straight of hoorror moves. We got plenty of oil for ourselves,
- 44:57Speaker 3: all right. You can use the talkback feature on the
- 44:59Speaker 3: iHeart radio app at South Carolina's Morning News.
- 45:02Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News on one O three
- 45:05Speaker 2: point five FM and five sixty AM WVOC, Columbia and
- 45:11Speaker 2: ninety four to three WSC Charleston.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Now, Kelly nash Ice.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Is heating up. Wow, they just broke their record. So
- 45:22Speaker 3: now when you look at the average or excuse me,
- 45:26Speaker 3: the total initial immigration detention bookends each month, I was
- 45:31Speaker 3: surprised to see how many were actually coming from the
- 45:34Speaker 3: Biden administration, which I would have thought was none, But
- 45:38Speaker 3: they were averaging about seven thousand a month, and it
- 45:41Speaker 3: was ticking up near the end of his term, they
- 45:43Speaker 3: were up to over eight thousand a month.
- 45:45Speaker 6: Well, when you let that many people in, it's you're
- 45:49Speaker 6: going to round up.
- 45:49Speaker 3: A few, I guess. And those must have been some
- 45:51Speaker 3: really bad ombres that they were that they were putting in.
- 45:56Speaker 3: The previous record, though, came in December of last year,
- 45:59Speaker 3: when Trump's ICE had thirty seven thousands again up from
- 46:04Speaker 3: eight thousand up to thirty seven thousand, but they just
- 46:07Speaker 3: broke it. They're now at thirty nine thousand, five hundred
- 46:12Speaker 3: and sixty three initial immigration bookends last month, and so
- 46:17Speaker 3: this is they are really ramping it up a lot,
- 46:19Speaker 3: because it did fall off after December with all the
- 46:22Speaker 3: chaos in the country. It went from thirty seven thousand
- 46:26Speaker 3: all the way down to twenty eight thousand the next month.
- 46:29Speaker 3: So quietly they have been ramping it back up, and
- 46:34Speaker 3: that's by design, you know. We keep hearing that they
- 46:36Speaker 3: don't want to be in the news. They just want
- 46:38Speaker 3: to get people out of the country. Mainstream media is
- 46:42Speaker 3: trying to make a big deal out of the fact
- 46:43Speaker 3: that while this is ramping up, so are the detensions
- 46:48Speaker 3: of what they would call quote civil immigration violations only
- 46:54Speaker 3: in other words, there's no pending lawsuits or legal cases
- 46:57Speaker 3: against them other than the fact that they're in the
- 46:59Speaker 3: country elite goal. The other ones are also ramping up,
- 47:02Speaker 3: by the way. So if you looked at say like
- 47:07Speaker 3: January of last year, we had nine thousand, seven hundred
- 47:10Speaker 3: and seventy two convicted criminals that we had put into
- 47:15Speaker 3: ice attention. At the same time, we had forty seven
- 47:19Speaker 3: hundred or so that had pending criminal charges. At that time,
- 47:22Speaker 3: we only had one thousand who had just been caught
- 47:25Speaker 3: up because of a family member or whatever. Well, here
- 47:28Speaker 3: we are now in for the month of June, and
- 47:32Speaker 3: it looks like it's about tide. It's eighteen thousand with
- 47:36Speaker 3: the pending, it's eighteen thousand with the criminals already convicted,
- 47:39Speaker 3: and it's about twenty thousand with civil immigration violations. So
- 47:43Speaker 3: they are really putting the pressure on right now. And
- 47:48Speaker 3: this is again seventy seven million people. That was the
- 47:50Speaker 3: number one issue for a lot of them is clean
- 47:53Speaker 3: up the country.
- 47:54Speaker 6: And to your point, I mean, these people who don't
- 47:57Speaker 6: have any criminal charges pending, they still broke the law
- 48:01Speaker 6: by coming into this country illegally.
- 48:03Speaker 3: It'll be interesting to also find out how many of
- 48:05Speaker 3: them received benefits because I keep hearing these stats, specifically
- 48:10Speaker 3: out of Minnesota, the percentages of the Somalian immigrants, and
- 48:14Speaker 3: it's like eighty ninety percent or receiving some sort of
- 48:17Speaker 3: government check, which, in case you forgot, we're thirty seven
- 48:22Speaker 3: trillion in debt we can't continue to pay for And
- 48:26Speaker 3: I understand people who push back, and they'll say, well,
- 48:28Speaker 3: you know, the social programs aren't the leading cause of
- 48:31Speaker 3: our debt, okay, but you know, when your family budget is,
- 48:36Speaker 3: you know, over budget, cutting the cable costs might be.
- 48:41Speaker 3: It doesn't fix the problem, but it starts putting you
- 48:43Speaker 3: in the right direction, no doubt. And if you're not
- 48:46Speaker 3: adding to the economy by contributing with a job, we
- 48:51Speaker 3: really have no use for you at all. And we
- 48:54Speaker 3: want you to be a citizen, and we want you
- 48:56Speaker 3: to assimilate, and we want to make America great again.
- 48:59Speaker 3: And all these people who can keep coming and not
- 49:01Speaker 3: trying to make America great again by just getting a
- 49:03Speaker 3: free ride, we want you out. Maybe somebody else thinks differently.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Use the talkback feature. You're getting your day started with
- 49:09Speaker 3: South Carolina's morning news.
- 49:11Speaker 2: From the Midlands to the low Country. This is South
- 49:14Speaker 2: Carolina's Morning News on one O three point five FM
- 49:17Speaker 2: at five sixty am WVOC and ninety four to three WSC.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Now here's Kelly Nash.
- 49:25Speaker 3: The more I listen to and watch Democrats, the more
- 49:29Speaker 3: I feel like the cosplay as intelligent people. Yesterday, Mayor
- 49:35Speaker 3: Zorhan Mamdani posted his social media video. As you know,
- 49:39Speaker 3: he's been threatening and trying to figure out ways to
- 49:42Speaker 3: arrest Benjamin Nett and Yahoo. He finally announced yesterday and
- 49:45Speaker 3: good bye the way. The first three minutes or so
- 49:48Speaker 3: of the video it's just him talking about all the
- 49:50Speaker 3: war crimes that he finds Benjamin Nett, Yaho guilty of,
- 49:54Speaker 3: and then we get to the the conclusion it's not
- 49:58Speaker 3: playing on the air. Oh hey, guy, wasn.
- 50:00Speaker 4: Under applicable law to determine whether New York City could
- 50:03Speaker 4: execute the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant with Benjamin Nettania
- 50:07Speaker 4: who came here. It is clear that we do not
- 50:09Speaker 4: have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Duh, duh. It's like you're the mayor, bro. You can't
- 50:17Speaker 3: just start pointing at people and saying I want them arrested.
- 50:19Speaker 3: So what was the point of all that. So he
- 50:22Speaker 3: was just to tell everybody, I really really really really
- 50:26Speaker 3: don't like Benjamin Netanya, who I really don't want what's
- 50:29Speaker 3: going on with Israel. I really want the Palestinians to
- 50:33Speaker 3: run the river to the sea. I'd really love to
- 50:36Speaker 3: end the Jewish population if possible, Can we end the
- 50:39Speaker 3: Jewish state? They have been nothing but a scourge to
- 50:42Speaker 3: the earth, according to this great mayor, Zorhan Mamdani. By
- 50:46Speaker 3: the way, how great was it when he put out
- 50:48Speaker 3: his ethnic map? Who the hell comes up with an
- 50:51Speaker 3: ethnic map of any city, but he did, and he
- 50:53Speaker 3: just happened to leave off the Irish and the Italians.
- 50:57Speaker 3: I think there was one other population group that he
- 50:59Speaker 3: left off as well. White is who we left off.
- 51:01Speaker 3: Everybody else was celebrated in the ethnic map of New
- 51:04Speaker 3: York City, but the Italians and the the Irish.
- 51:07Speaker 6: So when Nettnya who comes to address the UN later
- 51:10Speaker 6: this year, now Mandanni's backing down, saying he's not going
- 51:14Speaker 6: to have him arrested.
- 51:15Speaker 3: I don't have the authority.
- 51:16Speaker 6: I don't have it, So he'll just scream from the sidelines.
- 51:19Speaker 3: I guess, yeah, you're bad. Yeah, he said he's not
- 51:21Speaker 3: welcome here. Okay, Oh he's not welcome. Oh wow, wow,
- 51:25Speaker 3: that doesn't work with the un to start with. But
- 51:28Speaker 3: even if mom Donnie as mayor of New York told
- 51:31Speaker 3: him he wasn't welcome, okay again, it is You're right, Kelly.
- 51:36Speaker 3: It's performative, that's all this is. And I don't know
- 51:39Speaker 3: who listens to this type of stuff. Obviously the far left,
- 51:43Speaker 3: they love it, they lap it up. He's so brave,
- 51:46Speaker 3: he's willing to He's willing to do what Trump won't do.
- 51:49Speaker 3: He'll stand up to Benjamin Nettan, Yeah, who not be
- 51:51Speaker 3: his lapdog? Donald Trump told Benjamin Netton, yeah, who to
- 51:54Speaker 3: go blank himself? He doesn't care about Benjamin nett Yeah,
- 51:57Speaker 3: Who's not scared of him? None of No American politician
- 52:01Speaker 3: is afraid of any politician around the world. So for
- 52:05Speaker 3: that this whole idea that he's only doing it because
- 52:08Speaker 3: he's afraid of Israel, No, it's because Benjamin who is
- 52:12Speaker 3: not a war criminal. That's why it's a It's a
- 52:14Speaker 3: sham court that has been identified as a sham court
- 52:18Speaker 3: by most countries on Earth, and is New York City perfect.
- 52:21Speaker 6: Now that Mandani has all this spare time for foreign policy.
- 52:25Speaker 3: Yes, he's already taken care of that city.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Live from the State Capitol, this is South Carolina's Morning
- 52:32Speaker 2: News with Kelly Nash Christopher.
- 52:37Speaker 3: You and I do not get our paycheck from China.
- 52:41Speaker 3: No China. You know, it's it's amazing to me how
- 52:47Speaker 3: much we start to learn as far as China's influence
- 52:52Speaker 3: in the United States. It seems ever growing. And to me,
- 52:57Speaker 3: the first time I got my jaw kind of dropped
- 53:00Speaker 3: was when I learned about the Joe Biden whatever they
- 53:02Speaker 3: call it, the Presidential Center or something at the University
- 53:05Speaker 3: of Pennsylvania that was revealed to be nothing more than
- 53:09Speaker 3: an empty office with like a phone that wasn't even connected.
- 53:13Speaker 3: That was Joe Biden's office and he was being paid
- 53:16Speaker 3: a million dollars a year by China to have that
- 53:19Speaker 3: office there. What how could that possibly be? Well, I'm
- 53:25Speaker 3: reading more and more about this today, and you know,
- 53:29Speaker 3: Trump was calling out the Chinese for their involvement in
- 53:32Speaker 3: trying to influence will say, our elections.
- 53:36Speaker 6: And at the very least tacking into and learning all
- 53:39Speaker 6: kinds of things about American voters.
- 53:43Speaker 3: This was not revealed until I think like this week.
- 53:48Speaker 3: So our state Department was told in twenty twenty that
- 53:55Speaker 3: one of the state run media outlets from China had
- 53:59Speaker 3: paid US media outlets nineteen million dollars nineteen million dollars
- 54:06Speaker 3: in advertising, and four point six of it went to
- 54:10Speaker 3: the Washington Post six million into the Wall Street Journal.
- 54:15Speaker 3: So they're spreading their money around, not announcing this is
- 54:19Speaker 3: China trying to influence stuff. They're just buying time on television,
- 54:24Speaker 3: on newspapers. It doesn't as far as far as I
- 54:27Speaker 3: can see, no radio station's got to need the benefit,
- 54:32Speaker 3: which is a stupid investment on your part. Radio is
- 54:34Speaker 3: the best return on investment China. There you go. If
- 54:37Speaker 3: you want to win an election, you'll advertise on iHeart.
- 54:40Speaker 3: But I mean, this is crazy. How is it? How
- 54:43Speaker 3: is it that we knew that in twenty twenty, but
- 54:45Speaker 3: we're fighting out about it in twenty twenty six. I
- 54:48Speaker 3: have no idea why is it takes so long? And
- 54:52Speaker 3: I ask a rhetorical question. We know why it takes
- 54:55Speaker 3: so long because the deep state. It doesn't matter who
- 54:58Speaker 3: the president is, It doesn't matter who owns Congress, if
- 55:01Speaker 3: it's all Republican or all Democrat. The deep state is
- 55:05Speaker 3: not the people who are elected the deep State is
- 55:07Speaker 3: the people working there, and they're the ones who continue
- 55:10Speaker 3: to hide information that we should have certainly known that
- 55:15Speaker 3: there was nineteen million dollars being spent by China in
- 55:18Speaker 3: the twenty twenty election.
- 55:19Speaker 6: Remember about twenty years ago when we started learning how
- 55:22Speaker 6: much land China was buying in the United States, and
- 55:25Speaker 6: that was the controversy for a while. I mean, we
- 55:27Speaker 6: were losing even some key parks, and it was just
- 55:33Speaker 6: I mean, they were making a massive land grab in
- 55:35Speaker 6: places you wouldn't have expected, like California, for example, where
- 55:39Speaker 6: it's already pretty friendly to China.
- 55:42Speaker 3: You're absolutely right, Christopher. And by the way, coming up
- 55:46Speaker 3: in just a minute, we're going to talk with Mark Lynch.
- 55:48Speaker 3: If you missed that from the six o'clock hour, Mark
- 55:50Speaker 3: Lynch running for Senate. Obviously already primary Lindsay Graham and lost,
- 55:55Speaker 3: but did come in second. So I don't know, does
- 55:57Speaker 3: that make him the front runner. We'll talk to him
- 55:59Speaker 3: about that next. But he one of the points I
- 56:01Speaker 3: don't think we got on the radio interview, which is
- 56:04Speaker 3: in the podcast, is he was bringing up that point
- 56:07Speaker 3: about China buying up farmland and we need to stop that,
- 56:10Speaker 3: and we can't allow them to invest into our real
- 56:12Speaker 3: estate at all. They are buying up not just large
- 56:15Speaker 3: swaths of land, they're also buying up communities. They're part
- 56:19Speaker 3: of the reason that housing prices are on the rise.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Now they could say we're just doing it for investment purposes.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Some might think it's a little more shady than that.
- 56:27Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, he was really shady, which still
- 56:30Speaker 3: ticks me off to this day. We had a weather
- 56:32Speaker 3: balloon quote unquote weather balloon that finally got shot down
- 56:36Speaker 3: right off the coast of Myrtle Beach. But that thing
- 56:38Speaker 3: floated amazingly just through Alaska and then over It seems
- 56:43Speaker 3: every military base we had under the Joe Biden administration
- 56:47Speaker 3: until it was finally shot down just off the coast
- 56:50Speaker 3: here in Myrtle Beach. The Chinese are so egregious in
- 56:55Speaker 3: how they're working us, and Donald Trump is trying to
- 56:58Speaker 3: stop it. Though that everybody in DC is against Donald
- 57:03Speaker 3: Trump and anybody else who wants to make America great again.
- 57:06Speaker 3: And it's very frustrating. But at least we're getting some
- 57:09Speaker 3: of this information. Whoever's in the Trump administration getting this
- 57:12Speaker 3: information out, We thank you that you know you're going
- 57:15Speaker 3: back through the files and finding out things that the
- 57:17Speaker 3: Deep State was hiding from us. So and it's our
- 57:20Speaker 3: job here, Christopher Thompson and myself to bring it to
- 57:23Speaker 3: you and then you can let us know what you
- 57:25Speaker 3: think about it, or if you're hearing other stories that
- 57:27Speaker 3: we're not talking about, use the talkback feature as well.
- 57:29Speaker 3: That's on the iHeartRadio app. That interview with Mark Lynch,
- 57:32Speaker 3: who wants to be your next Senator? Next on South
- 57:35Speaker 3: Carolina's Morning News.
- 57:36Speaker 1: South Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 57:40Speaker 3: A lot going on yesterday opening for the filing to
- 57:44Speaker 3: be the next Senator from the great state of South Carolina.
- 57:48Speaker 3: As several people showed up. As Christopher Thompson mentioned earlier,
- 57:50Speaker 3: some names we had not heard of. Maybe we'll talk
- 57:52Speaker 3: about them in just a little bit. But first, one
- 57:54Speaker 3: of the people who was first in line, maybe actually
- 57:57Speaker 3: the first person to file, was Mark Lynch, who did
- 58:02Speaker 3: primary Lindsey Graham lost in June to Lindsey. But I
- 58:08Speaker 3: asked him yesterday, had him on for a little while,
- 58:11Speaker 3: why did you primary? Lindsay, to begin with, I have to.
- 58:13Speaker 9: Talk about the record, and you know, everything points in
- 58:18Speaker 9: his voting record constitutionally, he voted fifty seven percent of
- 58:22Speaker 9: the time the right way. And that's the kind of
- 58:26Speaker 9: records democrats have. That's his lifetime average.
- 58:29Speaker 3: When you say fifty seven percent of the right way,
- 58:32Speaker 3: is that based off of what a Heritage Foundation score
- 58:34Speaker 3: or where are we getting that from.
- 58:36Speaker 9: That's the Freedom Index that rates legislators on their constitutional
- 58:42Speaker 9: voting record.
- 58:43Speaker 3: The Freedom Index got it the Lindsay Graham campaign from
- 58:47Speaker 3: earlier this year. One of the endorsements that he had,
- 58:49Speaker 3: obviously was Donald Trump's, and they would run that ad
- 58:53Speaker 3: a lot where Donald Trump was basically calling you a
- 58:56Speaker 3: lunatic and said something about you were trying to legalize
- 58:59Speaker 3: cocaine or something to that extent. Is what is your
- 59:02Speaker 3: position on that?
- 59:04Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm not that those are complete lives. I'm not
- 59:07Speaker 9: for legalizing cocaine. And they brought up an arrest record
- 59:13Speaker 9: that was forty two years ago. You know, I've gone
- 59:16Speaker 9: through the fire. I've had major obstacles and hurdles in
- 59:20Speaker 9: my life. I've come through them. I met my wife
- 59:24Speaker 9: in recovery. We're the furthest away from trying to legalize
- 59:30Speaker 9: illegal drugs, no way. You know, the biggest problem we
- 59:33Speaker 9: have is alcohol in this country. But we've done ministry
- 59:38Speaker 9: for forty years, helping thousands of people in addiction struggles
- 59:41Speaker 9: come out of the lives of addiction into freedom in Christ.
- 59:45Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 59:46Speaker 9: That's a ministry that we have. And I'm a deacon
- 59:49Speaker 9: in our church, so I've been tested through fire and
- 59:54Speaker 9: I've come out an overcomer and I know what perseverance
- 59:58Speaker 9: is about. And perseverance built character, and we need people
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: with moral characters, godly character in our government to bring
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: back the foundations our country was founded on. Everybody's tired
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: of all the career politicians. I ran when Lindsay was
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: in office. Now we have people that were in the
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: House and they ran for governor and they lost, and
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: now they're running for US Senate and they claim they're
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: for term limits. That's garbage.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: I'm somebody that wants to get in as a deacon,
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: a patriot, a debt free job creator for forty years,
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: growing a business thirty five times that my father started
- 1:00:37Speaker 9: back in nineteen fifty one. We'll be celebrating our seventy
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: fifth anniversary. And I have a proven track record and
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: fruit in my life. And I was asked to run.
- 1:00:48Speaker 9: I've never been in politics. But people know me in
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: the community as a leader, and we've been fighting on
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: the outside trying to clean up the mess that these
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: all these people that are running against me, the rest
- 1:01:01Speaker 9: that are all politicians, like you know, handling the stuff
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: that happened during COVID nineteen. I had to fight to
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: keep my business open. We didn't wear masks, we didn't
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: social distance. It was a scamdemic and we saw the
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: truth in it, and our customers loved us for it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 9: And we lost hundreds of thousands of dollars holding the
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: line on that. But God blessed us for holding the line.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: All right, that's we got a lot more with Mark Lynch.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: If you want to hear the entire interview, you can
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: go to my National Briefing podcast and you spell that
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: like my name nash ionl the National Briefing on the
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: iHeartRadio app. When we come back, Christopher Thompson and I
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: will talk about Mark Lynch, will talk about maybe some
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: of the other candidates, some surprise candidates throw their names
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: into the hat, and a surprise poll drop yesterday with
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: a who would A thunk as the front runner. We
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: got all that in more on South Carolina's Morning News.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: You're listening to North Carolina's Morning News with Kelly Nash.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: All Right, just heard from Mark Lynch, who filed yesterday
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: to run for Senate, and there's a bunch of other
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: people who filed yesterday. I think we're now up to
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: five official, probably eight candidates. I don't know how many
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: we'll get to speak to, but we'll work on that
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: here on South Carolina's Morning News, Christopher Thompson, there's a
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: poll out this morning that came out yesterday morning. It
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: was conducted between Saturday and Monday, and apparently they got
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: nine hundred what they describe as likely GOP voters for
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: this South Carolina Republican special primary election.
- 1:02:39Speaker 6: So just to set the timeline, Kelly, this came out
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: after the Trump endorsement of Darlene Graham.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: Well, they asked two questions. So the first one is
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: if the Republican primary election for US Senate was held today,
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: whom would you vote for? Number one? Answer? And I
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: don't know where the heck this is coming from, but
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: thirty eight percent, according to Peak Research, said Trey Goudy. Wow.
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: Since Scott has touted Trey Goudy, but Goudy has said
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: he wasn't interested.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: A distant second was Ralph Norman at thirteen percent, so
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: thirty eight for Trey, Ralph at thirteen, Russell Fry, Darlene Graham,
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: Mark Lynch, Nancy Mace at that point was still in it,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: Pamela Evitt, Mark Sanford. That's how they rounded it out
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: and all pretty much together. The second question was President
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Trump has asked Darlene Graham to run in this special election,
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: knowing that she has his endorsement. Who would you vote for?
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Trey Goudy only loses three points. He goes from thirty
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: eight to thirty five. Darlene jumps up, she was at nine.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: She then goes to sixteen and Ralph Norman at ten percent.
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: And third, wow, is that just because you know, Trey
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: Goudy's gone from being a congressman to now he's just
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: been in the media for a while, and you know
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: he loses. I mean, there's so much negativity surrounding government
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: these days. If you're out of government, you're more popular
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: than if you're in government.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: I want to know who paid for this poll? Was
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: it Trey Goudy's pack? I mean, how does Trey Goudy
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: just out of left field? Become the dominant number one
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: front runner. I don't know, I have no idea. I
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: would not have expected that. That was very much a surprise.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: The rest of the the numbers seem rather in line
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: with what we had already heard. Ralph Norman at you know,
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: thirteen percent or so, Russell Frye roughly at ten percent.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: Because Russell Frye is not a statewide name as of yet.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Ralph Norman at least ran for governor, he was able
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: to get his name out there. Russell fry very popular
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: up in that Oriy County area. Darlene Graham is going
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: to get the name recognition just based off her brother.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Mark Lynch, you know, came in a distant second to Lindsey.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: There was like three other people running in that primary.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: But I think Mark Lynch got about thirty percent of
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: the vote. That's more of a protest vote against Lindsey
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Graham than it is, in my estimation, a support of
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Mark Lynch. Nancy Mace was still pulling at six percent,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: although I think was it yesterday or the day previous
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Nancy endorsed Ralph right, So I don't know how much
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: that helps. He was touting it online as you should.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: If you've got a sitting member of Congress endorsing your
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: run for the Senate, of course you make a big
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: deal out of it. Mark Sandford is not. We have
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: not heard anything other than what I even heard it reported.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: You're the only guy I know who knows about this,
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: that Mark Sandford. What did he do again? He changed
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: his Yeah, he did well.
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: This was again reported by the AP that he changed
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: his House filing his House election filing committee. The name
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: is now Sandford for Senate.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: So we have to assume that when you do a
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: move like that, you.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: Are going to be running, or at least flirting with
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: the idea.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: That's a very serious flirt that's going on there. And
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: so yesterday we did not get filings from Darlen Graham,
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Russell Frye, Ralph Norman. But the five that did was
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: Duke Buckner. We've mentioned him. He's run against James Cliburn
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: several times, Mark Lynch, who primaried Lindsay Graham and lost,
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: and then three never heard he is Mark McBride, Clark
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Nielsen and Samuel Sheppard. And if you had said to me, well,
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: not me, but the man on the street, who are
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: these three? I bet you. Some would have said, aren't
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: they the three who went to the moon first?
- 1:06:37Speaker 6: Well, people in Oray County know who Mark McBride is
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: because he was on city council for a while, made
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: him name for himself in Myrtle Beach.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Okay, so they at least know that, all right.
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: He ran for the State House for the seventh district
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: back in twenty twenty two, so maybe at least I'm
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: not even sure Clark Nielsen lives in South Carolina?
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: According to the last report he lives in Charlotte. Oh
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: my god, So I don't know about him at all.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: And Samuel Shepard, we have a Shepherd.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: Is a according to his bio, an internationally recognized biochemical
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: medical engineer, physicist, inventor, businessman, forensic investigator, cosmologist, dinosaur hunter, author,
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: and entrepreneur.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: That sounds like the perfect guest for our overnight show
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Coast to Coast Coast. And Samuel Shepard, Yeah, Samuel Shepherd
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: will come on in and entertain you on the overnights.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: I don't know who those three are. Christopher Thompson more
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: plugged in than I am when it comes to this,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: and so we appreciate you doing some research to let
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: us know who those individuals are. But again, five filed yesterday,
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: three more expected in Darlene, Russell fry and Ralph Norman
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: are expected to file soon. As a matter of fact,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: I think I'm speaking with Ralph Norman today. We'll put
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: that out on the National Briefing podcast and then play
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: it back tomorrow if in fact my memory is correct
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: that I'm speaking with Ralph today. We're working out with
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Darlene Graham's team trying to get her on I've reached
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: out to Russell Frye, no contact, nobody's getting back to
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: me on Russell fry So I don't know if we'll
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: have better luck with Clark Nielsen and sam Shepard.
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: Did you see that Russell Frye called for a debate yesterday?
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: He said South Carolinians deserve to know who's running and
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: the only way to find out is put them on
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: a debate stage together.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: Well, if I mean I'm one of those people who
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: it's like they've got to be a serious candidate, meaning
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: they have an actual opportunity to win. Do I want
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: to hear Mark McBride, Clark Nielsen and Samuel Shepherd eating
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: up the time and then one hour debate. While it's
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: really I mean, like, if I'm being honest, it's really
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Ralph Russell and Darlene would be the three that I
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: think most people would want to hear from. I'll put
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Mark Lynchen just because he did run and got thirty
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: percent of the vote in the last time, but that
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: would be the four that I would put on stage,
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: and if Sandford decided to run that I'd make it
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: those five. But or Gouty. Trey Gowdy's not running.
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: I don't think he is, but you know, he may
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: see these bull numbers and start to reevaluate.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: I don't know what he gets paid at Fox, but
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: I'm sure it's more than being a senator. So I'm
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: not expecting Trey Goudy. But maybe you people know something
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: I don't. You know, we've got ears all throughout the state.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: Let us know on the talkback feature what you're hearing.
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: This is South Carolina's morning.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: News, your news, traffic, weather and information stations. This is
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: South Carolina's morning news on one O three point five FM,
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: five sixty AM WVOC, and ninety four to three WSC
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: Now Kelly Nash.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: There's a fella on X I don't know if he's
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: on other social media platforms, and that just goes by
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: the name May's m a Ze. He does a great
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: job of kind of investigating stuff and putting out videos
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: regarding it to This is a clip of a video
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: he just posted about thirty minutes ago, and in it,
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: what you see, and I'm not going to play you
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: the whole thing, but you see the then Vice president,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: and you see the director of the cent or excuse me,
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: the head of the Central Intelligence Agency at the time,
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Mike Pompeo, and they're talking about the Russia Russia Russia
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: collusion story, and Jake Tapper is going to fact check
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: them and correct them. He's basically implying that the director
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: of the CIA is lying to the American public. Did
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: not affect the outcome of the election. So is this true?
- 1:10:32Speaker 10: Is it, as Vice President Penn said, the universal conclusion
- 1:10:35Speaker 10: of the intelligence community that Russian election interference had no
- 1:10:39Speaker 10: impact on the result of the election.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: No, that is not true.
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: The intelligence community, written large in January twenty seventeen, issued
- 1:10:49Speaker 10: a report looking at Russian election interference in the twenty
- 1:10:53Speaker 10: sixteen presidential election, and they very specifically said in their
- 1:10:57Speaker 10: report that they were not going to assess us whether
- 1:11:01Speaker 10: the interference had an impact on the election.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: They wrote, now before before we go any further with that,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: I don't know they're going to need to play any
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: more of it. Obviously, he's saying that they're being that
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: they're lying to you because James Clapper is who he's quoting.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: James Clapper said, we're not going to make an assessment
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: as to whether or not that interference played a role
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: or not. And then Clapper went on to say, I
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: think that they showed a clear preference for Donald Trump
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: in order to just try to make a It seemed
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: like they would have been incentivized to get Donald Trump.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: But he didn't know, James that there was no way
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: for Jake Tapper to know that we would find out
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: years later that oh, Clapper was lying that none of
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: that was true. Your fact check was false, Jake, And
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: this is this is the kind of stuff that we
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: have to tolerate. I knew it was false when he
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: said it, But you're you're going to overrule the CIA.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: You're going to say that James Clapper, who is a
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: non biased, dignitary of people, and he's going to tell
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: us the truth. Unlike Mike Pompeio, who's got the the
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: all of the files. This is the It's kind of
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: like when they tried to undermine Tulsa Gabbard. Tulsi Gabbert
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: didn't have an axe to grind. She was pure as
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: the driven snow. And it comes to revealing what happened
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: in the Obama administration, and yet all you try to
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: do is cut her legs off. Jake and the rest
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: of the mainstream media, Christopher, these people make me sick.
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: It's and it's not only sickening, it's I mean, god,
- 1:12:34Speaker 6: how many times have we heard danger to democracy, you know,
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: said about either Trump or members of the Trump administration.
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: Yet you had democracy being undermined by a sitting president
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: and his staff.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: Absolutely actively engaging in corruption to win elections. And I
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: don't care what the mainstream media wants to tell you.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: That has been proven and it continues to be proven.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: Maybe we'll play more of Mickey Cherrell from New Jersey yesterday,
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: and I think that that's the beginning of a huge
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: scandal for the Democrats, although not being covered hardly anywhere.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: But there's a lot to get to with the illegals
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: voting and all this other stuff with the voting machines.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: This is just the tip of the iceberg started cracking yesterday. Yeah,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: we'll touch on that next. This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News on one O three
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: point five FM and five sixty AM WVOC, Columbia and
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: ninety four to three WSC Charleston, Now Kelly Nash.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Yesterday, the governor of New Jersey, Mickey Cherrell, held a
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: press conference to announce that last week she was informed
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: that there was a roughly sixty six hundred people registered
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: to vote in New Jersey who are not citizens and
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: should never have been allowed to register to vote. Oopsie.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: She blamed that on the fact that there was a
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: machine malfunction or something at the the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: When people register to drive, they're asked if they want
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: to vote, and somehow these people said no, but then
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: they ended up on the voter rolls. That's a machine mistake,
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: not a human mistake. She estimates only four hundred or
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: so of those people voted. This is her responding to
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: one of the reporters questions which.
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: Elections were It is included was presidential and twenty one.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Where did involve your election?
- 1:14:24Speaker 8: This happened between the It started in twenty twenty three.
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: It was cut and stopped in twenty twenty four. However,
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: we are now actively working to remove those less than
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: four hundred voters from the roles, so potentially this could
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: have occurred. They could have occurred in any election since
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: the time they were registered. I will be presenting the
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: findings of that investigation. We have no evidence at this
- 1:14:52Speaker 8: time that any elections were swayed.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: Of course not. So she goes on and on to
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: minimize it and then ends up blaming DOMD. Trump for
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: all this. In the meantime, the guy who the Democrat
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: who actually sponsored the motor vehicle registration bill, a guy
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: named Jamal Holly. I just retweeted him on x He said, quote, now,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: this is the guy who sponsored the bill that she's
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: talking about that allowed these six hundred or so illegals
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: to be become voters. He says, I hate to deliver
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: more bad news, but the problem extends well beyond those
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: six thousand cases. It's going to be way more, which
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: is why we must pause that bill immediately until better
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: safeguards can be put in place. And I'm quoting a
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: Democrat in New Jersey. This is precisely why we must
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: pass the Save America Act.
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: Wow, Okay, so Hm, who's a Senator from New Jersey.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: Cory Booker.
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: Cory Booker, Corey Booker will now be the Senate sponsor
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: of the Save America Act.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: Jamal Holly, as you if you follow me on x
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: on at Kelly Nash Radio, is a black New Jersey
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Democrat who's calling for the past the Save America Act
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: because he even recognizes that if you're going to have
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: fair elections, you cannot have illegals voting in them, who
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: are then neutralizing Americans. Will wait, wait a minute, Keilly,
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna stop you right there. Okay.
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: I've heard the Democrats for years now say it's impossible
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: for illegals to vote. We already have laws against it.
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: There's no need for the Save America Act. Because illegals
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: can't vote, it doesn't happen.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I've also heard them say that no one is illegal.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Then there's that, and we're also our democracy should extend
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: to the world. Everybody should get a vote on who
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: is the president or the governor or whatever. You get
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: a vote. Yeah, exactly. But again, when we were talking
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: about this story this morning, I said that this is
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: the tip of the iceberg. Mickey Schirell is trying to
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: get out in front of what's going to be a
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: massive scandal in New Jersey and try to neuter it.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: This is not going to be neutered. And Jamal Holly
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: is not doing her any favors by telling the truth
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: that it's going to be a lot more than six
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: thousand illegals or registered to vote in New Jersey where
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: this I can't wait for this story to implode in
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: her face. It is going to be a fantastic day
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: when we find out that you got to add a
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: zero or maybe two zeros to that number of illegals
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: that are voting in New Jersey and it did sway elections.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: I'm confident of that as well. This scandal is going
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: to be rolling for months, probably won't have much effect
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: on the midterms. They'll try to keep it quiet throughout that,
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: and she'll just keep saying, of course, we have whistleblowers,
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: we already talked about it, we already know the problems.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: We're fixing them. Anyway. We'll keep our eye on that.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: This is South Carolina's Morning News.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: This is South Carolina's Morning News on one O three
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: point five FM and five sixty AM WVOC and ninety
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: four to three WSC.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Now here's Kelly Nash.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: It's almost time to put a little bow on this
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: edition of South Carolina's Morning News. But Christopher Thompson, you
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: do a great job of getting out a daily podcast
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: for the people.
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: Well, yeah, if you missed the show or any portion
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: of the show, you can go back. You can search
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: on the iHeartRadio app South Carolina's Morning News and you'll
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: find the show rewind and you can hear every minute
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: or just the part you missed.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: That's right. And speaking at the iHeartRadio app, that's also
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: where I have my daily ten minute podcast roughly ten minutes.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Sometimes I go a little over with the national briefing,
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: and that's where those interviews in their extended form took place.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: We had the chairman of the Dorchester County Republicans who
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: is questioning the legality of Darlene Graham being able to
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: run on the Republican ticket. You can hear all of
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: what he had to say about that, and also you
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: can hear our interview with Mark Lynch. I just checked.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: I am speaking with Ralph Norman today and so that
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: will go up there later on and we will play
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: parts of that back tomorrow for you Ralph Norman fans.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: He's got a very passionate fan base. I don't know
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: if you've noticed that he might have the most passionate
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: fan base. He might not have the most, but he
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: has the most passionate.
- 1:19:12Speaker 6: And there they were excited that he was getting into
- 1:19:14Speaker 6: this race, and I think they're still excited, absolutely, in
- 1:19:17Speaker 6: spite of the Trump endorsement of Dorlean and Graham.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Yeah, which did not seem to keep the people out
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: that he was hoping to keep out. So maybe we'll
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: talk to those people as well. But it's been a
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: fun morning, Christopher. Absolutely, let's do it again tomorrow. I
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: like it. We'll be here just after six o'clock for
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: another edition of South Carolina's Morning News. Have a fantastic Wednesday.
