- 1:12Speaker 1: thing since a sweet gesture by Joe Burrow. I haven't
- 1:18Speaker 1: gone back to watch the telecast yet, but there were
- 1:20Speaker 1: apparently a lot of shots during the game of Jake
- 1:23Speaker 1: Browning's family watching the game from a luxury suite. Jake
- 1:28Speaker 1: made it clear after the game that it wasn't his
- 1:31Speaker 1: luxury suite.
- 1:32Speaker 2: It is not my box. I did not buy that
- 1:35Speaker 2: in the preseason. Very expensive. So Joe Burrow was nice
- 1:40Speaker 2: enough to give them some tickets so they didn't have
- 1:44Speaker 2: to sit up in the cold. You know, we're off
- 1:46Speaker 2: in California, so I used to it. They're not, so
- 1:50Speaker 2: I'm sure they were much more excited in the box.
- 1:52Speaker 2: But it's awesome. I'm here, I was. I think it
- 1:56Speaker 2: was two friends from back home, my girlfriend and then
- 1:59Speaker 2: my brother and my sister and boyfriend. So it's always
- 2:04Speaker 2: nice to have people there, and it's mostly nice after
- 2:07Speaker 2: you win to and we'll.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Go grab dinner or something someone.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And it was a very kind gesture by Joe Burrow
- 2:13Speaker 1: to invite Browning's friends and family to watch the game
- 2:16Speaker 1: from his luxury suite. And by the way, it was
- 2:19Speaker 1: Joe Burrow's birthday on Sunday. Now, he and Jake Browning
- 2:24Speaker 1: are both twenty seven years old Browning is about eight
- 2:28Speaker 1: months older. Now time for the radio replays from Sunday's
- 2:32Speaker 1: win over the Colts. It is a chilly December day
- 2:40Speaker 1: here in Cincinnati, thirty seven degrees with cloudy gray skies overhead,
- 2:46Speaker 1: in other words, football weather. As the six and six
- 2:50Speaker 1: Bengals look to stay alive in the playoff hunt as
- 2:54Speaker 1: they host the seven and five Indianapolis Colts, And it
- 2:58Speaker 1: is time for the big skin to fly here in
- 3:01Speaker 1: the jungle. Rookie Chase Brown checks in for the first
- 3:05Speaker 1: time in running back after nine carries for sixty one
- 3:08Speaker 1: yards last week. They fake it to him. Now they
- 3:11Speaker 1: screen it to him, all sorts of running room and
- 3:14Speaker 1: blockers in front. He's flying to the thirty, the twenty.
- 3:17Speaker 1: The ten cuts back makes a man miss half the
- 3:20Speaker 1: five touchdown Bengals. Chase Brown showing his speed as he
- 3:28Speaker 1: flies down the field for the Bengals touchdown. Matt Gay,
- 3:33Speaker 1: who won a Super Bowl ring against the Bengals with
- 3:35Speaker 1: the Rams a couple of years ago, in his first
- 3:38Speaker 1: year with the Colts, the highest paid kicker in the
- 3:41Speaker 1: NFL after signing a free agent deal. This kick is
- 3:45Speaker 1: up and it pits the upright and bounce his back. Wow,
- 3:50Speaker 1: he missed it from thirty eight yards away, and the
- 3:54Speaker 1: Bengals remain seven points ahead. Joe Mixon back in at
- 3:58Speaker 1: running back Charlie Joe in a wide receiver. Browning throws
- 4:02Speaker 1: into screen, caught by Mixing. Runs to the fifty, cutting
- 4:06Speaker 1: back to the forty, still running at the thirty high,
- 4:09Speaker 1: stepping to the twenty, and tackled at the sixteen yard
- 4:13Speaker 1: line by Rodney Thomas. The screen game is killing Indianapolis.
- 4:19Speaker 1: That's a forty four yard game. Browning back at the five.
- 4:23Speaker 1: In the shotgun. Mixon ships to his left. It's a
- 4:26Speaker 1: handoff Mixing stumbling forward, touchdown Bengals. Joe Mixon heads to
- 4:33Speaker 1: the back of the end zone and begins a dance
- 4:36Speaker 1: for the fans looking on. He scored three touchdowns in
- 4:40Speaker 1: the last two games, and the Bengals have taken a
- 4:44Speaker 1: thirteen to nothing lead. Linebacker Zyear Franklin is a fullback.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Zach Boss lined up behind him. He's carried on the
- 4:50Speaker 1: last six plays. They fake to him, They throw into
- 4:53Speaker 1: the end zone, and it is a touchdown. Moe Ellie
- 4:59Speaker 1: Cox held on to the football. It looked for a
- 5:02Speaker 1: second like he might have juggled it, but he held
- 5:04Speaker 1: on for the td got behind Logan Wilson and the
- 5:08Speaker 1: playworks for Indianapolis. Second and four. They snap it to Browning,
- 5:11Speaker 1: Jake looking throwing and it is intercepted. It's being run
- 5:16Speaker 1: back by Ronnie Harrison. He's going to take it to
- 5:18Speaker 1: the house. A pick six and a touchdown for Indy
- 5:22Speaker 1: Browning in the gun chase brown to his right. Browning
- 5:25Speaker 1: has the ball, He's back to throw. The Fires caught
- 5:28Speaker 1: it the five, Tanner Hudson into the end zone. Touchdown Bengals.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Tanner Hudson with his first ever NFL touchdown catch and
- 5:40Speaker 1: the Bengals are back in the lead. On second down
- 5:43Speaker 1: and nine, Browning with a deep drop. He's gonna float
- 5:46Speaker 1: it high end, got him t Higgins makes it over
- 5:48Speaker 1: the shoulder catch on the far sideline, got his feet
- 5:52Speaker 1: down in bounds and gets tackled at the twenty four
- 5:56Speaker 1: of Indianapolis, a forty six yard bom Darryl Baker was
- 6:02Speaker 1: nearby as t stumbled down after making the catch. Second
- 6:06Speaker 1: down in goal, inches away. The Bengals already up by
- 6:09Speaker 1: seven now, Browning moves under center. He has Mixing five
- 6:12Speaker 1: yards behind him. Browning will try to sneak it in,
- 6:15Speaker 1: Mixing shuts him in the back into the end zone.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Touchdown Bengals and Cincinnati has a two TD lead. Here
- 6:25Speaker 1: comes the punt by Robbins, very very high, and we've
- 6:29Speaker 1: got a muff. The Bengals fall on top of it
- 6:32Speaker 1: at the thirteen yard line. Bengals ball as Isaiah McKenzie
- 6:38Speaker 1: colliding with his own guy as he was trying to
- 6:41Speaker 1: make a fair catch dj Ivy down at the bottom
- 6:46Speaker 1: of the pile to recover for Cincinnati. Minshew back to throw,
- 6:50Speaker 1: looking left, hit from behind Bob Hendrickson, the ball shops
- 6:54Speaker 1: to the ground. The Bengals heavens, yes, he'll j Hill
- 6:59Speaker 1: with a football. Here we go, fourth down and fifteen,
- 7:03Speaker 1: the Colts at their own forty one. Minshew back to
- 7:05Speaker 1: throw here trace got him Hey sacksim and that should
- 7:12Speaker 1: be coffin now. Bam, bam bam.
- 7:16Speaker 4: And Trey Henderson.
- 7:17Speaker 5: You affected two people, the left tackle Raymond and the
- 7:23Speaker 5: quarterback Minshew. Boy, what a game Trey Henderson had.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Two weeks ago, after a loss dropped their record to
- 7:29Speaker 1: five and six, many people gave up the Cincinnati Bengals
- 7:33Speaker 1: for dead. Well, guess what you can hear a noise
- 7:36Speaker 1: in the background. Thump thump, yeah, thump thump, the heartbeat
- 7:41Speaker 1: very much still beating. The Bengals improved their playoff chances
- 7:45Speaker 1: as they climb above five hundred with a thirty four
- 7:49Speaker 1: to fourteen win over the Indianapolis Colts. Here are the
- 7:54Speaker 1: final stats for Jake Browning. He completed eighteen out of
- 7:57Speaker 1: twenty four passes, that's seventy five five percent for two
- 8:01Speaker 1: hundred and seventy five yards with two touchdowns and one
- 8:04Speaker 1: interception for a passer rating of one twenty two point seven.
- 8:09Speaker 1: He added a one yard touchdown run and those numbers
- 8:12Speaker 1: probably would have been even better if not for a
- 8:16Speaker 1: bizarro situation early in the fourth quarter where Jake had
- 8:19Speaker 1: to leave the game and jog to the locker room
- 8:22Speaker 1: because of cramping in his right hand. AJ McCarron had
- 8:26Speaker 1: to take his place for five offensive snaps. Here's the
- 8:30Speaker 1: explanation from Browning thumb.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Four armed, just saw started.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Cramport's thumb was just locking up on that could throw
- 8:39Speaker 2: and then Kane got an IV AND's fine, but yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 2: it's pretty dumb. But just needed to drink more water
- 8:46Speaker 2: and collect rots, I guess, and I think sometimes when
- 8:49Speaker 2: it's cold, you just hunted thirsty. So yeah, I guess
- 8:53Speaker 2: that's probably the main takeaway from the games. Hydrate better.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I asked t Higgins about it after the game. Jake
- 9:00Speaker 1: came back in after being in the locker room. It
- 9:02Speaker 1: looked like he was maybe joking around about what happened.
- 9:05Speaker 1: What did he say?
- 9:05Speaker 3: This is cramping?
- 9:06Speaker 6: He said, you need to drink water. That's why you
- 9:08Speaker 6: drink water. Eh, you you right, you better drink some water.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Cramping and your thumb is I'm not sure.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm not sure I'd ever heard of thumb cramping before.
- 9:17Speaker 4: It is what it is.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Man, I'm just glad it was a series, and I'm
- 9:19Speaker 6: glad he's all right.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know you had faith in him, but did you
- 9:23Speaker 1: honestly think he could play at this level in back
- 9:26Speaker 1: to back games?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Sure?
- 9:28Speaker 6: I mean the confidence I mean because he came in
- 9:31Speaker 6: training camp playing like a start in QB. Man, I mean,
- 9:35Speaker 6: this is the tip of iceberg for him. You know
- 9:38Speaker 6: what I'm saying. He ain't doing nothing but showing the
- 9:40Speaker 6: world that what he's capable of. And you're also happy
- 9:43Speaker 6: for him to come in and leave this offense the
- 9:44Speaker 6: way he's been doing and you hope he would keep
- 9:46Speaker 6: going for the rest of the season.
- 9:48Speaker 1: For the second straight game, Browning got a lot of
- 9:50Speaker 1: help from the Bengals running attack. At Cincinnati, ran for
- 9:54Speaker 1: one hundred and eleven yards and had gains of fifty four,
- 9:58Speaker 1: forty five and twenty five yard guards on screen passes.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Joe Mixon had one hundred and twenty five combined rushing
- 10:05Speaker 1: and receiving yards, and Chase brown added one oh five.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Here's mixing two weeks ago. A lot of people at
- 10:13Speaker 1: giving the Bengals up for dead. How do you feel
- 10:15Speaker 1: about where things stand right now? Considering how you've played
- 10:18Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks.
- 10:19Speaker 7: I feel really good.
- 10:20Speaker 8: I think that everybody been doing the hell of a job,
- 10:23Speaker 8: you know, playing together and everybody just you know, making
- 10:26Speaker 8: plays and being in the right place is when they
- 10:28Speaker 8: need to be. So we just got to keep building
- 10:30Speaker 8: on that and uh, you know, getting better.
- 10:32Speaker 1: It seemed clear that you guys had confidence and faith
- 10:35Speaker 1: in Jake Browning, but considering how well he's played, has
- 10:39Speaker 1: that been elevated the last couple of weeks.
- 10:42Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean Jake's been very silent, and that's what
- 10:45Speaker 8: we need him to be in order to win these games,
- 10:47Speaker 8: and I think that you know, by him doing that
- 10:50Speaker 8: playing solid football, I think everything else.
- 10:54Speaker 7: As long as our defense.
- 10:55Speaker 8: Playing the ass off like they are, we're gonna be
- 10:57Speaker 8: in great shame. So we just got to you know,
- 10:59Speaker 8: Keith feen of each other playing complimentary football and everything else.
- 11:02Speaker 8: Don't take care of himself.
- 11:04Speaker 1: See the screen game.
- 11:05Speaker 7: Yeah, well, basically we knew that.
- 11:07Speaker 8: You know, they like the panic drop a lot, and uh,
- 11:11Speaker 8: the linebackers was going playing the run downhill real hard
- 11:15Speaker 8: like they did, and uh, you know they they was.
- 11:18Speaker 8: I guess Chase had a big run last week, and
- 11:21Speaker 8: we basically complimented that run. You know, Ohio looks and
- 11:25Speaker 8: they played the run and then the past is wide
- 11:28Speaker 8: open and he made a hell of a running catch.
- 11:31Speaker 1: How about on your screen?
- 11:34Speaker 8: Uh, I can't say it was the same concept, but
- 11:37Speaker 8: you know, coach doubted up at the right time, and uh,
- 11:41Speaker 8: you know, lineman making blocks downfield, and you know, we're
- 11:44Speaker 8: just trying to do whatever we could have to make.
- 11:46Speaker 7: Plays and get yardists.
- 11:47Speaker 1: You've had back to back games now with more than
- 11:49Speaker 1: one hundred yards of combined rushing and receiving yards, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: you look fresh. I mean it looks like week three
- 11:55Speaker 1: as opposed to approaching mid December.
- 11:58Speaker 8: Yeah, I felt like I'm only getting strong. Has the
- 12:00Speaker 8: season been going. I mean, I think, you know, by
- 12:03Speaker 8: Chase coming in and whoever it is, you know, coming
- 12:06Speaker 8: in and making plays, I think it's also a great
- 12:08Speaker 8: thing because when you know, they come in, they can't
- 12:11Speaker 8: just play the pass. So it's been a great thing
- 12:14Speaker 8: for them to actually come in and do real good
- 12:16Speaker 8: in the run game. So we just gotta keep it going.
- 12:19Speaker 8: And uh, obviously by us playing U by us running
- 12:25Speaker 8: play actions and things like that, it's.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Been a great thing.
- 12:27Speaker 8: So we just gotta keep going, keep building and doing
- 12:30Speaker 8: whatever we need to do to get the win.
- 12:31Speaker 1: You said, Monday's win reinforce the idea in the locker
- 12:35Speaker 1: room that we're the Bengals. We're the team that's been
- 12:38Speaker 1: to the AFC Championship Game each of the last two years.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Was that taking up a notch today?
- 12:43Speaker 4: Oh yeah, definitely.
- 12:44Speaker 8: It's gonna keep It's gonna keep taking ticking up notches, man.
- 12:48Speaker 8: So you know, we just gotta keep living on what
- 12:50Speaker 8: you know, we believe in and who we are as
- 12:52Speaker 8: a team, and everything else is gonna take care of itself.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Ingrats on the win. Defensively, the Bengals shut down the
- 12:59Speaker 1: NFL number eight scoring offense. Indy managed one offensive touchdown,
- 13:05Speaker 1: averaged two point six yards on running plays. It had
- 13:09Speaker 1: a passer rating in the low eighties. Chittabey A Wouje,
- 13:13Speaker 1: its move back into the starting lightup due to Cam
- 13:15Speaker 1: Taylor BRIT's ankle injury, had five tackles and two pass deflections. Chito,
- 13:21Speaker 1: that was an awesome defensive performance. Those guys has scored
- 13:24Speaker 1: at least twenty in every game but one. He held
- 13:27Speaker 1: them to one offensive touchdown today. What did you think
- 13:30Speaker 1: the key was?
- 13:31Speaker 7: We came out here hungry.
- 13:32Speaker 9: You know, it was always about us, you know, And
- 13:34Speaker 9: I think we're kind of finding the formula right now,
- 13:37Speaker 9: just with the energy manage like all the you know, formasons, alignments, assignments,
- 13:41Speaker 9: all that stuff.
- 13:42Speaker 7: It's really by energy.
- 13:43Speaker 9: And I think we're just really rolling around each other
- 13:45Speaker 9: and really enjoying playing for one another. And you know,
- 13:47Speaker 9: when we're when the defense is at our best, that's
- 13:49Speaker 9: what we're doing. So I just really feel like we're
- 13:52Speaker 9: starting to hit a stride with our chemistry and it's
- 13:54Speaker 9: starting to show on the field.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Think you've been excellent for the last couple of weeks,
- 13:57Speaker 1: do you feel like you're playing as well as ever?
- 14:00Speaker 7: I feel good, you know, I feel really good.
- 14:02Speaker 4: You know.
- 14:02Speaker 9: Obviously opportunity came and you know I had to step up,
- 14:06Speaker 9: and you know, I always felt like myself. But you know,
- 14:09Speaker 9: sometimes when you get an assignment during the game, before
- 14:11Speaker 9: a game, you just it push on a different mindset,
- 14:13Speaker 9: you know what I'm saying. So I've been in that
- 14:14Speaker 9: mindset the past couple of weeks. Just this is who
- 14:16Speaker 9: I am, this is what I do. Anyway, So yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 9: I feel good.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Definitely a lot of young guys in this secondary and
- 14:22Speaker 1: now dj Ivy is getting some opportunities as well. It
- 14:26Speaker 1: seems to me to bode really well for the future,
- 14:28Speaker 1: not only how many young guys are playing, but how
- 14:30Speaker 1: well they're playing.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't think there's any drop off.
- 14:32Speaker 9: I think like we have one of the best I
- 14:35Speaker 9: don't want to jinx us, but truly like talent wise
- 14:38Speaker 9: and just loving the game and you know, being on
- 14:41Speaker 9: top of assignments and stuff. I really think we have
- 14:42Speaker 9: one of the best corner rooms and our coach too,
- 14:45Speaker 9: you know, have a great corners coach and Chuck Burke.
- 14:47Speaker 9: So I think everybody's seen it, Like whoever's been in
- 14:50Speaker 9: they've been up to the task, you know. So and
- 14:53Speaker 9: we have guys who aren't playing around, even Sidney Jones,
- 14:55Speaker 9: you know, who's been a starter in this league, you know,
- 14:57Speaker 9: just we have a very good corner bedroom. So I'm
- 15:00Speaker 9: really excited for the young guys in the future of
- 15:01Speaker 9: this team, see what they do.
- 15:03Speaker 1: How would you describe Jake Browning's played the last couple
- 15:05Speaker 1: of weeks.
- 15:06Speaker 7: It's the Jake so not the Lake Show. So I
- 15:08Speaker 7: described it the Jake Show.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It's been extraordinary. I know everybody in here had faith
- 15:15Speaker 1: that he could rise to the occasion and play well,
- 15:17Speaker 1: but that well, yeah.
- 15:20Speaker 7: No, I've always believed it.
- 15:21Speaker 9: I mean it's probably Taper somewhere we're in practice run
- 15:25Speaker 9: when he's making players. I'm just like, that's Jake. You know,
- 15:26Speaker 9: I've played against him in Washington. He was a Heisman
- 15:29Speaker 9: candidate coming.
- 15:30Speaker 4: In the league.
- 15:31Speaker 7: He's such a knowledgeable guy. You know, he's sits there
- 15:33Speaker 7: with us in the.
- 15:34Speaker 9: dB meetings, you know on Tuesdays, and really you know,
- 15:36Speaker 9: was talking football with us and stuff like that. Like
- 15:38Speaker 9: he has the mind for he has the heart for it.
- 15:40Speaker 9: And now he just has the platform to show for it.
- 15:42Speaker 9: And you know, again we have Joe Burrow, we have
- 15:44Speaker 9: Jake Browning. I don't know if too many teens and
- 15:46Speaker 9: agent even stepped in and almost to a touchdown. Sot like,
- 15:48Speaker 9: we're just blessed, really just top top to bottom in
- 15:51Speaker 9: a lot of position groups.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Did your heart syncavet when he started running toward the
- 15:54Speaker 1: locker room to have his thumb checked out.
- 15:57Speaker 7: A little bit?
- 15:58Speaker 9: A little bit, Not gonna lie, but I think even
- 16:00Speaker 9: just as a brother, you know, but if that's the
- 16:02Speaker 9: football's football, you know, anything can happen. And in that second,
- 16:05Speaker 9: it was like, okay, defense, what we know we got
- 16:08Speaker 9: to do?
- 16:08Speaker 4: You know?
- 16:08Speaker 9: So is this you know, balancing all the highs and
- 16:11Speaker 9: the lows of the game.
- 16:12Speaker 7: I'm very happy that he's healthy.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Four games left. You guys have put yourselves right back
- 16:16Speaker 1: in the hunt.
- 16:18Speaker 9: You gotta take a one game at a time, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 9: keep on one and oh win every day and when
- 16:22Speaker 9: a game happens again, just have the energy. I think
- 16:24Speaker 9: we we kind of find the formula.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Find to watch you doing your thing out there. Congrat
- 16:28Speaker 1: on the WAMPP.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Thank you brother.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Wow. Let's hear from head coach Zach Taylor, who spent
- 16:33Speaker 1: four and a half minutes with Lap after the game.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Twenty point victory over a team that was five and
- 16:39Speaker 5: one on the road. Every situational, las back, third down,
- 16:44Speaker 5: red zone, you name it. You guys want it and
- 16:47Speaker 5: want to handle it.
- 16:48Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean we challenge our team not to give
- 16:49Speaker 10: them anything easy. They've capitalized on That's what good football
- 16:52Speaker 10: teams do. That's why he needs a good team. They've
- 16:54Speaker 10: capitalized on every opportunity and that's part of this league.
- 16:57Speaker 10: And our guys today did a great job in the
- 16:59Speaker 10: second half recapturing their momentum, doing a great job control
- 17:03Speaker 10: the things we can control and putting these guys away.
- 17:05Speaker 10: And I thought it was a really good performance, particularly
- 17:06Speaker 10: in the second half.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Our team in the two game winning streak. In both games,
- 17:11Speaker 5: the opponent scores fourteen points in two minutes and twenty
- 17:14Speaker 5: seconds in Jacksonville, in twenty five seconds in this football game,
- 17:17Speaker 5: you guys just adversity. What's I don't know what that
- 17:21Speaker 5: definition is. You guys just so resilient they are.
- 17:24Speaker 10: I mean, that's what team has proven time and time again.
- 17:25Speaker 10: If we just keep adding guys that fit that description
- 17:27Speaker 10: in the locker room and they jump right in the line.
- 17:29Speaker 10: And so you saw a lot of guys step up
- 17:32Speaker 10: today and make key plays in this game. And that's
- 17:33Speaker 10: what this locker room is all about. And I was
- 17:35Speaker 10: proud to see all those guys step up.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Forty two sacks. They came into the game with forty
- 17:39Speaker 5: two sacks, none zero shutout. How good the offensive line played,
- 17:44Speaker 5: to your naked.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Eye, awesome.
- 17:45Speaker 10: That's a really good defensive line. And our guys responded
- 17:48Speaker 10: to the challenge the right way. And to keep Jake
- 17:50Speaker 10: clean like that was impressive. To keep the run game
- 17:54Speaker 10: going like they did. The screen game was all really
- 17:56Speaker 10: helpful and so really proud of the job those offensive
- 17:58Speaker 10: linemen did.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Game is unbelievable. I mean, your first two screens you
- 18:03Speaker 5: got over one hundred yards are your first two screens
- 18:05Speaker 5: in a touchdown? What what is it about the screen game?
- 18:08Speaker 10: I think we got a lot of variety. The guys
- 18:10Speaker 10: are understand what to do at all all positions. Jake's
- 18:13Speaker 10: done a good job with the timing of it all
- 18:15Speaker 10: and and sometimes it's it's it's it's a great job,
- 18:18Speaker 10: great execution. Sometimes you're catching them in the right look
- 18:20Speaker 10: and that has a lot to do with it too,
- 18:22Speaker 10: But I thought there was I can picture all the
- 18:25Speaker 10: screens we hit and guys making key blocks and key timing,
- 18:28Speaker 10: and it was good to see.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Have you ever had your quarterback struggle with the cramp
- 18:33Speaker 5: and his thumb.
- 18:34Speaker 10: No, no, but it is what it is. Man Aj
- 18:38Speaker 10: was ready to step up on a third downs. Not
- 18:39Speaker 10: fun when it's raining or snowing whatever. It was not
- 18:43Speaker 10: an ideal situation. But Aj went in there and managed
- 18:45Speaker 10: it well and was able to get us move in
- 18:48Speaker 10: a little bit for that field goal and we were
- 18:49Speaker 10: in good shape.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Yeah, that was unbelieved to go in there stone cold,
- 18:52Speaker 5: not even throw one warm up. I mean, that's that's
- 18:54Speaker 5: pretty incredible.
- 18:55Speaker 10: Not a fun situation to be in, you know for
- 18:57Speaker 10: Frey j And so we called a fade route. He
- 18:59Speaker 10: threw a great row to T for a touchdown. Touch
- 19:01Speaker 10: should have been touchdown, and that's not the way. Great job, Brian,
- 19:06Speaker 10: So that's just that's just the way it goes sometimes.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Red zone. Your defense now has held the opponent without
- 19:11Speaker 5: a point on ten possessions, eight of them coming in. Uh,
- 19:15Speaker 5: they hit the upright on one and the interception and
- 19:18Speaker 5: then you just scored a touchdown. So they're in there
- 19:20Speaker 5: three times to get seven points. What can you say
- 19:23Speaker 5: about your defense in the red zone.
- 19:24Speaker 10: Yeah, the drive is never over with these guys. They
- 19:26Speaker 10: got a belief that they're not giving up points and
- 19:28Speaker 10: they're going to find a way to get a turnover,
- 19:30Speaker 10: find a way to get a fourth down stop, and
- 19:32Speaker 10: and uh, it just rubs off on everybody. And that's
- 19:34Speaker 10: just the general sense when team's getting the red zone
- 19:36Speaker 10: that it's not gonna work out well for him, and
- 19:37Speaker 10: our guys did a great job to do it.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Seemed like on the on the pick six receiver and
- 19:42Speaker 5: quarterback maybe on a little bit different page execution wise.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I think that we'll see the tape.
- 19:46Speaker 10: It might have been a tick off the throw and
- 19:49Speaker 10: it gets you know, he's trying to catch it in
- 19:51Speaker 10: the backer.
- 19:53Speaker 7: I saw the replay.
- 19:54Speaker 10: It's it's you know, they they they're on scholarship to
- 19:57Speaker 10: Harrison made a good play. He plucked it out of there.
- 20:00Speaker 10: Sometimes when you're off just by six inches or of foot,
- 20:02Speaker 10: you know, things like that can happen. Sometimes you void
- 20:04Speaker 10: them with an incompletion. Sometimes it goes sideways. But I
- 20:06Speaker 10: thought that Jake did a great job manage the game.
- 20:09Speaker 5: He really did, and you had two takeaways, so you
- 20:11Speaker 5: finished plus one in the turnover department. I know that's
- 20:13Speaker 5: always always a goal for sure. So you get this
- 20:16Speaker 5: one against the Indianapolis Colts. Now you have back to
- 20:19Speaker 5: back Saturdays. Your team had to go Monday night, short week,
- 20:24Speaker 5: now Saturdays schedule wise? Does it are you pretty like? Okay,
- 20:28Speaker 5: this is what I was going to do. Did you
- 20:29Speaker 5: decide before the season? Do you change your mind during
- 20:33Speaker 5: the course of the season.
- 20:34Speaker 4: How does that work?
- 20:35Speaker 10: We've been in the six day weeks before, you know,
- 20:36Speaker 10: coming off a Monday game against the Rams, so you
- 20:38Speaker 10: just follow the same process. It is nicer having to
- 20:40Speaker 10: play at one o'clock home game. I think we're all
- 20:43Speaker 10: pretty tired last week getting up to Friday even so
- 20:46Speaker 10: now you get a chance to get some rest.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Show up.
- 20:48Speaker 10: Yeah, it's a short week, but our guys they fallow
- 20:50Speaker 10: the same schedule they followed last week. So we've got
- 20:52Speaker 10: that rhythm down a little bit.
- 20:54Speaker 5: Short week, Minnesota Vikings and then another Saturday game Pittsburgh
- 20:58Speaker 5: Steelers in Pittsburgh. But it's just the Minnesota Vikings right now,
- 21:02Speaker 5: and I mean everybody you're playing is still in the playoff.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Hun is crazy That's the beauty of this league.
- 21:08Speaker 10: Man, everyone's still in it, and unfortunately we're one of
- 21:10Speaker 10: those teams.
- 21:11Speaker 7: We've got to take care of.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Business, no question. Congratulations on a huge win, Coach, Thank you.

- 21:34Speaker 1: is the official healthcare provider of the Bengals. Now time
- 21:38Speaker 1: for the radio guys recap lap with an exception of
- 21:43Speaker 1: about a twenty five second span in the second quarter.
- 21:46Speaker 1: That was one heck of impressive performance.
- 21:48Speaker 4: It really was.
- 21:49Speaker 5: I mean, you talk about pick a situation in situational football,
- 21:53Speaker 5: they dominated every one of them, every single one of them.
- 21:57Speaker 5: I know they spend a lot of time on that,
- 21:59Speaker 5: you know, whether it be two minutes drill, whether it
- 22:01Speaker 5: be third down, you know, red zone, whatever the situation is,
- 22:07Speaker 5: they really performed well, dominant. It was really an unbelievable performance.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Like you said, a twenty five second span the week
- 22:16Speaker 5: four in Jacksonville two minutes and twenty seconds, and for
- 22:19Speaker 5: back to back weeks, to show the resiliency in the
- 22:21Speaker 5: character to let that roll off your back.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I think it's a big deal.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Jake Browning deserves every bit of praise that's coming his way.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Another great performance. He completed seventy five percent of his
- 22:32Speaker 1: passes two hundred and seventy five yards two touchdowns. He
- 22:35Speaker 1: also ran for a score. But I really think you've
- 22:38Speaker 1: got to give credit to Zach Taylor, Brian Callahan, Dan
- 22:41Speaker 1: Pitcher and Jake everybody involved in putting together the game
- 22:45Speaker 1: plan because everything they did suited his strengths.
- 22:49Speaker 5: I agree, And it was diverse and there was a
- 22:53Speaker 5: lot of variety to the run game. Just like the
- 22:55Speaker 5: week before. They didn't run it as much, but it
- 22:58Speaker 5: was effective enough. And I do think that they're they're
- 23:03Speaker 5: given Jake. They're not making his plate one course. They're
- 23:08Speaker 5: given him three and four course meals, you know, and
- 23:11Speaker 5: they know he can handle it and he's executing an
- 23:13Speaker 5: extremely high level.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Was his quarterback raining over one hundred.
- 23:15Speaker 1: And twenty one twenty two point seven.
- 23:17Speaker 5: That'll work, man, That dog will hunt. And if you know,
- 23:21Speaker 5: I talked to Tanner after the in the locker room
- 23:24Speaker 5: and he said, you know, I probably was a step
- 23:26Speaker 5: or two away from where I should have been, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 5: and then you talk to another guy, you know, well,
- 23:32Speaker 5: the ball wasn't exactly where it should have been. It's
- 23:33Speaker 5: probably a combination. Neither guy's going to point the finger
- 23:36Speaker 5: at the other. But bottom line, that was unfortunate. But
- 23:40Speaker 5: you know, again, they they they it didn't deter them.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Let's put it that way. For them to come out
- 23:46Speaker 5: in the second half and score right away and take
- 23:49Speaker 5: a two score lead and build on that was very,
- 23:52Speaker 5: very impressive.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I wonder if Chase Brown had not strained his hamstring
- 23:58Speaker 1: right at the point where they were planning to start
- 24:00Speaker 1: working him in more, if this team might have another
- 24:03Speaker 1: winn or two, because he has made a huge impact
- 24:06Speaker 1: in the last two weeks. He had one hundred and
- 24:08Speaker 1: five combined rushing and receiving yards.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Today.
- 24:11Speaker 4: He's a blur, there's no doubt.
- 24:13Speaker 5: And mentioned it during the game that all often at
- 24:15Speaker 5: halftime and I'm like, what do you think, guy, Chase Brown?
- 24:18Speaker 4: He goes, well, you know, you read these forty.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Times, and you know sometimes it's like, you know, there's
- 24:23Speaker 5: a little puff puff to it And he said, but
- 24:25Speaker 5: the eyeball test, he passes the eyeball test, he goes
- 24:29Speaker 5: that man can move.
- 24:29Speaker 4: I said, well, coming from you, a track athlete, you
- 24:32Speaker 4: know who is.
- 24:33Speaker 5: The fastest football player of your ear, that's that's saying something.
- 24:37Speaker 5: And he can turn them over. Man, Chase Brown has
- 24:41Speaker 5: got some wheels.
- 24:42Speaker 1: What'd you think was the key defensively? And holding Indianapolis
- 24:45Speaker 1: to one offensive touchdown, that's a good offense. Eighth, then
- 24:48Speaker 1: the NFL in scoring coming.
- 24:49Speaker 5: In, it's incredible that they don't give up on any
- 24:52Speaker 5: any drive. You know, it gets in the red zone
- 24:56Speaker 5: field goal kicker misses his first one from under forty
- 24:59Speaker 5: yards to the right, upright, they get an interception, they
- 25:02Speaker 5: give up one touchdown and three red zone drives. Seven
- 25:05Speaker 5: points and three red zone drives. That'll that'll work for you.
- 25:09Speaker 5: And uh now that now was health the opponent without
- 25:11Speaker 5: a touch without a score, without a point on ten
- 25:14Speaker 5: red zone drives. I mean that that's that's not just
- 25:18Speaker 5: like a you know, a blip in the screen. That's
- 25:22Speaker 5: like that's a consistent thing that they're able to do
- 25:25Speaker 5: and a mentality that they have where we're not going
- 25:28Speaker 5: to let him score We're not gonna We're not gonna
- 25:29Speaker 5: forget limited to a field goal. We're not going to
- 25:32Speaker 5: let him score. That's the mentality they have.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Trey Hendrickson had a bad roughing the passer penalty that
- 25:37Speaker 1: contributed to the Colts one touchdown drive. He came back
- 25:40Speaker 1: from that penalty like a man possessed and dominated the
- 25:44Speaker 1: left tackle Ryman for the Colts.
- 25:46Speaker 3: He did.
- 25:47Speaker 5: I mean it was he had two sacks against Ryman.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Ryman as he's going over on his backside and that's
- 25:52Speaker 5: an embarrassing thing. You know, don't want that to happen
- 25:55Speaker 5: to you ever, as an offensive lineman, no matter what
- 25:57Speaker 5: level football you're playing, you don't want to be going
- 25:59Speaker 5: over backwards. And then tripped them. So he got a
- 26:01Speaker 5: ten yard penalty out of that one. Not the same
- 26:04Speaker 5: as a quarterback sack because you know you repeat the down,
- 26:06Speaker 5: but still it affected you know, the yards hitting yards,
- 26:10Speaker 5: and I mean he was he was a force off
- 26:13Speaker 5: the edge, and I thought they played the run very,
- 26:17Speaker 5: very soundly. I mean I can remember a bunch of
- 26:19Speaker 5: times where you know, Moss hit it up in there
- 26:21Speaker 5: and he was like there's nothing. I mean, every single
- 26:24Speaker 5: gap can't even bounce can't do anything. Guys were doing
- 26:27Speaker 5: a great job.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I thought the secondary was excellent today. Chiitabe A Wouje
- 26:31Speaker 1: has looked like his old self the last couple of weeks.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Dj Ivy is starting to get opportunities. These young pops.
- 26:38Speaker 1: They make some mistakes, but there's a lot of talent
- 26:40Speaker 1: back there.
- 26:40Speaker 5: There is, you know, And there weren't receivers running wide open,
- 26:43Speaker 5: you know. I mean every single ball, or a high
- 26:46Speaker 5: percentage of them were you know, decent coverage. Guy right
- 26:50Speaker 5: there that made a tackle immediately after the catch. I
- 26:54Speaker 5: didn't really you know, in my mind, oh man, we
- 26:57Speaker 5: getting killed on yards after catch. They were tackling and
- 27:00Speaker 5: very soundly and man minimizing yards after catch to the
- 27:05Speaker 5: point where it was it was almost ridiculous. I thought
- 27:07Speaker 5: Indianapolis had to work hard for everything, and that's a
- 27:12Speaker 5: tribute to the defense for sure.
- 27:14Speaker 1: So when Jake Browning went running into the locker room
- 27:16Speaker 1: to have his thumb examined, I did a flashback to
- 27:19Speaker 1: twenty fifteen. I'm thinking, oh God, he broke his thumb,
- 27:22Speaker 1: just like Andy Dalton. AJ mccheron's going to be the
- 27:24Speaker 1: guy for the stretch run. Thankfully, it was just cramping
- 27:28Speaker 1: in the thumb and he came right back out. Could
- 27:30Speaker 1: you tell by his body language or whatever that it
- 27:33Speaker 1: didn't seem that serious to you?
- 27:34Speaker 5: Not really, because you know how stoic he gets. You know,
- 27:37Speaker 5: it's like he never gets too high with the high,
- 27:39Speaker 5: low with the lows. But you know, looking back on it,
- 27:43Speaker 5: if it had been something of that magnitude, you know,
- 27:46Speaker 5: you could understand him like throwing a helmet or showing
- 27:49Speaker 5: some kind of disgust or you know, dissatisfaction or whatever.
- 27:52Speaker 5: And it wasn't really like that. It wasn't really embarrassment.
- 27:56Speaker 5: But at a lot of his team, I've asked a
- 27:58Speaker 5: lot of the teammates, you never heard of every quarterback
- 28:00Speaker 5: leave the game with the cramp and the stuff. They
- 28:02Speaker 5: all look at me and start laughing, you know, and
- 28:04Speaker 5: it's like, no, that's the first. A lot of them
- 28:05Speaker 5: didn't know what was going on. They just knew that
- 28:07Speaker 5: he left and he went in the tent, and they're like, Oh,
- 28:09Speaker 5: what's what's happening here? But that's that's a crazy, crazy thing.
- 28:14Speaker 5: I wonder if it's ever happened to Jake before.
- 28:16Speaker 1: It's happened to you before, though you've had cramping in
- 28:18Speaker 1: the hand before.
- 28:19Speaker 5: I have, and right where he right at the ball
- 28:22Speaker 5: and socket, you know, of the thumb that rotates, you know,
- 28:26Speaker 5: in the heat, moving furniture, doing things where there's a
- 28:29Speaker 5: lot of strain and a lot of stress and you're
- 28:31Speaker 5: you know, really working your hands. I've had cramps in
- 28:34Speaker 5: my thumb and my hands cramp up. And you just
- 28:37Speaker 5: got to keep up with your water. In his situation,
- 28:40Speaker 5: I mean, it was you know, thirty five degrees, and
- 28:45Speaker 5: but it just goes to show you you do have
- 28:47Speaker 5: to even when it weather's like that, you do have
- 28:50Speaker 5: to drink water, you know, and and make sure your
- 28:52Speaker 5: body's balanced.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Seven and six, four to go and very much alive, very.
- 28:59Speaker 5: Much alive, I mean, is it's right there. Every game
- 29:06Speaker 5: is against the playoff caliber team. If you keep knocking
- 29:09Speaker 5: them off, I mean, at some point the tiebreakers will
- 29:12Speaker 5: start to swing your way again. And if you can
- 29:14Speaker 5: get head to head victories against these teams that are
- 29:17Speaker 5: fighting to get in, that's the first tiebreaker. So the
- 29:20Speaker 5: more of those you can get, the better you're going
- 29:22Speaker 5: to be.
- 29:23Speaker 1: All Right, take care of your hands. Have lots of liquids.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't want any hand cramping going into the broadcast
- 29:29Speaker 1: next week.
- 29:30Speaker 11: Edward Scissor hands up next a home game against the
- 29:36Speaker 11: seven and six Vikings, who beat the Raiders on Sunday
- 29:40Speaker 11: three nothing, the lowest scoring NFL game in sixteen years.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Minnesota lost quarterback Kirk Cousins in Week eight and has
- 29:49Speaker 1: managed to stay in playoff contention without him. Nick Mullins
- 29:53Speaker 1: relieved a struggling Joshua Dobbs at quarterback this week and
- 29:57Speaker 1: led the Vikings to the fourth quarter field goal that
- 30:00Speaker 1: was enough to win that game. Saturday's game at Paid
- 30:04Speaker 1: Course Stadium starts at one o'clock. Finally, time for this
- 30:08Speaker 1: week's fun Facts conversation, where you get to know the
- 30:11Speaker 1: person under the pads. Time for some fun facts with
- 30:16Speaker 1: Miles Murphy from Marietta, Georgia, not too far from Atlanta.
- 30:20Speaker 1: You are one of two boys. You have an older brother, Max,
- 30:23Speaker 1: he's an electrical engineer. Now, you studied engineering at Clemson.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Why is it about designing and building that appealed to you, guys?
- 30:31Speaker 12: I guess for me, I always kind of followed my
- 30:33Speaker 12: brother's first steps when it came to he started playing football.
- 30:36Speaker 12: I started playing football right after him, and then he
- 30:39Speaker 12: got into engineering so I got curious and kind.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Of when my own path of engineering.
- 30:45Speaker 12: Because I always grew up I always loved drawing in
- 30:48Speaker 12: like the process of.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Seeing stated stadiums get built.
- 30:52Speaker 12: So I wanted to construction construction science, which is pretty
- 30:55Speaker 12: much structural engineering civil engineering, and uh, that's kind of
- 30:59Speaker 12: just how Austin from there.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Your dad played college football. He was a linebacker at
- 31:04Speaker 1: Tennessee Chattanooga. He got drafted by the USFL's Birmingham Stallions.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Did he put a ball in your hands at an
- 31:10Speaker 1: early age.
- 31:12Speaker 3: No, that's one thing.
- 31:13Speaker 12: My dad really really wasn't big on't He wasn't going
- 31:15Speaker 12: to force.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Me to play any particular sport.
- 31:19Speaker 12: He did want his His big emphasis was you know,
- 31:22Speaker 12: be active, do something. But he wasn't like you're going
- 31:26Speaker 12: to play football or this, that and the other. Like
- 31:27Speaker 12: I was football, baseball, basketball. I was a three sport
- 31:31Speaker 12: athlete all the way up until my sophomore year of
- 31:33Speaker 12: high school. So it's really like I started playing football
- 31:35Speaker 12: because that's what all my friends played and kind of
- 31:38Speaker 12: just stayed with it.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Shortly after you got drafted, your dad shared a photo
- 31:42Speaker 1: with me of you playing baseball when you were seventh grade.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I believe you're playing first base, there's a base runner
- 31:48Speaker 1: around the bag. You look about twice his size. Did
- 31:51Speaker 1: parents from the other teams used to complain that maybe
- 31:54Speaker 1: you were too old or that they were worried about
- 31:57Speaker 1: their kids in various youth sports.
- 31:59Speaker 12: Not a BA ball because baseball, like, the only thing
- 32:01Speaker 12: that can hurt you is the ball itself. So it
- 32:04Speaker 12: wasn't It wasn't any complaints about uh baseball, but football
- 32:07Speaker 12: was complaints. Well yeah, football. At football, there were questions.
- 32:11Speaker 12: I wouldn't say complaints, but it was questions. For Sarah,
- 32:14Speaker 12: I was one of the always one of the biggest
- 32:16Speaker 12: persons on the field, but it didn't give me too
- 32:19Speaker 12: much trouble.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Honestly, we're chatting with Miles Murphy. I've read that as
- 32:22Speaker 1: a left handed pitcher, you threw ninety miles an hour
- 32:26Speaker 1: at age fourteen. Why did you decide to give up baseball?
- 32:30Speaker 12: The reason I gave it up because one I wasn't
- 32:33Speaker 12: the most accurate, Two I couldn't hit a curveball, and
- 32:37Speaker 12: then three that last year I was playing baseball, that summer,
- 32:42Speaker 12: I got three offers back to back for football, so
- 32:46Speaker 12: I kind of just won that football rot.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think you clearly made the right choice. You were
- 32:51Speaker 1: one of the highest rank recruits in the country. Do
- 32:54Speaker 1: you remember the first letter you got from a school
- 32:57Speaker 1: or the first team that really try tried to recruit
- 33:00Speaker 1: you hard.
- 33:02Speaker 12: The thing is, I didn't even get any letters. It
- 33:04Speaker 12: was the UJA offer first, and then the letters from
- 33:08Speaker 12: like all over the country. Because the Uga that was
- 33:11Speaker 12: the first like football gamp that I went to. Well school,
- 33:14Speaker 12: that was the first school football camp that I went to.
- 33:16Speaker 12: I went to like a Adida's Army All American Underclassmen
- 33:21Speaker 12: camp and like some other like small camps like that.
- 33:23Speaker 3: But that was the first school cam that I went to,
- 33:27Speaker 3: and then I got the offer, and then letters came after.
- 33:30Speaker 1: You could have gone anywhere. You chose Clemson. Why the Tigers.
- 33:34Speaker 3: One. I wanted to stay in the Southeast. I want
- 33:35Speaker 3: to stay close to home. Marriott is kind of in
- 33:38Speaker 3: the hot spot. I was two to two and a
- 33:41Speaker 3: half hours away from all the I guess big schools uh.
- 33:46Speaker 12: Uga, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, South Carolina was about two two.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Hours, forty five minutes and three hours.
- 33:54Speaker 12: Clemson came out on top because one skiing, I like
- 33:59Speaker 12: their scheme, their edge, guys played the edge.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 34:02Speaker 12: I didn't want to necessarily be on the interior any
- 34:05Speaker 12: at all, honestly. And then of course scoring engineering there
- 34:09Speaker 12: they have a good structural structural engineering program or construction
- 34:12Speaker 12: science program, and those those those are probably like the
- 34:15Speaker 12: two biggest pools. And then the well, the last, last
- 34:20Speaker 12: last thing was really just the feeling of how I
- 34:23Speaker 12: felt on each campus, and I just felt the best
- 34:25Speaker 12: on Clemson.
- 34:27Speaker 1: As any big college football fan. Though it's part of
- 34:29Speaker 1: the Clemson experience is touching Howard's rock and then sprinting
- 34:34Speaker 1: down a very steep hill onto the playing field. What
- 34:37Speaker 1: was your strategy for staying upright sprinting down that hill?
- 34:41Speaker 12: It was more so of a sideways gallop. No, well,
- 34:44Speaker 12: I won't say no one sprinted. Some people did sprint,
- 34:46Speaker 12: but I u Sweeny as soon as Sweeney told us
- 34:50Speaker 12: a story about the thing that he tells tells every
- 34:52Speaker 12: freshman before.
- 34:52Speaker 3: They run down the hill.
- 34:54Speaker 12: It's a decline, then it's a flat part, and then
- 34:56Speaker 12: it's another decline. A player hyper extended his knee on
- 35:00Speaker 12: the flat part because he was striding down the entire.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Way the same. But he told us the strategy is
- 35:08Speaker 3: to stride down.
- 35:08Speaker 12: Once you used that flat part, just jump out, just
- 35:11Speaker 12: jump forward, and then you'll just fall into your next
- 35:14Speaker 12: few strides.
- 35:15Speaker 3: So that was a strategy.
- 35:16Speaker 12: But me, I was always just careful, like there's it's
- 35:18Speaker 12: no point in trying to race down the hill, So
- 35:20Speaker 12: I just did like a sideways gallop and just cruise
- 35:24Speaker 12: my way down.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I love that the sideways gallop. You were on some
- 35:28Speaker 1: great teams and had phenomenal teammates at Clemson like Trevor
- 35:32Speaker 1: Lawrence and Travis Etn. What was your favorite part about
- 35:36Speaker 1: your three years at Clemson.
- 35:38Speaker 12: I mean, honestly, just the people there, like the friendships
- 35:41Speaker 12: that I made there. Honestly, that's a big reason why
- 35:43Speaker 12: I played the sport. Every every team that I go to,
- 35:46Speaker 12: it's a it's just a big fellowship all the time.
- 35:50Speaker 12: Like even even here, just being with the D line
- 35:53Speaker 12: all the time, it's a big fellowship, whether we are
- 35:56Speaker 12: in the meeting rooms, on the field, or just at
- 35:58Speaker 12: home we're on playing Call of Duty. Were like somebody
- 36:02Speaker 12: me and someone the dline were playing Call of Duty yesterday,
- 36:04Speaker 12: Like just the big fellowship. That's that's a big reason
- 36:06Speaker 12: why I play the game, just to create those relationships.
- 36:09Speaker 1: We're doing fun facts with Miles Murphy. For many players,
- 36:12Speaker 1: the draft is the highlight of their life to that date,
- 36:15Speaker 1: at least because it is the reward for so much
- 36:18Speaker 1: hard work that goes into it. Describe your emotions when
- 36:21Speaker 1: the Bengals selected you in the first round.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Honestly, it was kind of surreal.
- 36:25Speaker 12: I didn't even understand all of it was, of all
- 36:29Speaker 12: of what happened until are you like four three to
- 36:33Speaker 12: four days after, because it was the building up to
- 36:36Speaker 12: the draft day, Draft Draft night, got drafted and then
- 36:42Speaker 12: had a day, had a day in between, and then
- 36:44Speaker 12: the following day got on the got on the jet,
- 36:46Speaker 12: flew up to Cincinnati, then came back and it wasn't
- 36:49Speaker 12: until I got back like when everything started to process
- 36:53Speaker 12: about what all just happened. So it was it was
- 36:56Speaker 12: most definitely just surreal for a few for a few days, honestly.
- 37:00Speaker 3: But Mon's just a good film all right.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Now, Time for some wild Card topics with Miles Murphy.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Your family had Atlanta Falcon season tickets when you were young.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Do you remember any specific games or moments of games
- 37:13Speaker 1: that you attended?
- 37:14Speaker 12: Ooh, yeah, twenty seventeen Falcons versus Green Bay Packers. That
- 37:19Speaker 12: was our I say hour, that was the Falcons winning season.
- 37:23Speaker 12: I think we went to the super Bowl that year
- 37:25Speaker 12: and it was really just that entire game, not even
- 37:27Speaker 12: just like the play on the field, like the entire
- 37:30Speaker 12: like feeling of the entire stadium the entire time.
- 37:34Speaker 3: It was just a loud war the entire game because
- 37:37Speaker 3: it was it was a big game.
- 37:40Speaker 12: And that twenty seventeen season that just kind of just
- 37:43Speaker 12: that lit that fire that we had when Michael Vick
- 37:46Speaker 12: was there.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Because when Michael Vick.
- 37:47Speaker 12: Was there, the entire city of Atlanta was crazy, like
- 37:51Speaker 12: in a good way, it was. It was just crazy
- 37:53Speaker 12: all the time. So that twenty seventeen season kind of
- 37:55Speaker 12: brought everyone back to brought everyone back to that excitement.
- 37:59Speaker 12: So it was it was it was just it was
- 38:01Speaker 12: just a fun time.
- 38:02Speaker 1: It was the Super Bowl, lost to the Patriots and
- 38:04Speaker 1: squandering the twenty eight to three lead a heartbreaker.
- 38:07Speaker 12: It was a heartbreaking for the you know, the die
- 38:09Speaker 12: hard fans, my parents, the season ticket holders. But I
- 38:13Speaker 12: know when we were up twenty eight to three, my
- 38:14Speaker 12: uh my parents' friends, they brought out like two three
- 38:18Speaker 12: big bottles of champagne. Put them, put them on the
- 38:21Speaker 12: ice and then the comeback started, and then once the
- 38:25Speaker 12: Patriots won, it was Champagne was just still sitting there
- 38:28Speaker 12: and I was thinking, I forget, forget how old I was,
- 38:31Speaker 12: but I was just you know, just sitting there.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Just went upstairs, got on the game. Hey, it is
- 38:36Speaker 3: what it is.
- 38:36Speaker 1: They should have popped that champagne on your draft nights
- 38:38Speaker 1: since they couldn't enjoy it after the Super Bowl. As
- 38:41Speaker 1: you've mentioned your major witch construction, science and management, and
- 38:45Speaker 1: you have an interest in stadium design. What do you
- 38:47Speaker 1: consider to be the coolest stadium in terms of design?
- 38:52Speaker 12: Las Vegas Raiders probably the in my opinion, the coolest,
- 38:56Speaker 12: the coolest design inside and out. It's a very nice
- 39:00Speaker 12: looking aesthetic on the outside and the inside. But uh,
- 39:03Speaker 12: if you're just talking about just fan experience on the
- 39:06Speaker 12: inside of the stadium, the Chargers probably have the best
- 39:09Speaker 12: best looking stadium because one, of course, the bright colors
- 39:12Speaker 12: just always brings it just brings a good vibe automatically,
- 39:15Speaker 12: and then the see through roof to let the sunlight
- 39:17Speaker 12: inns always.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Plus we got to experience at the Super Bowl a
- 39:21Speaker 1: couple of years ago, and you're right, till Fi Stadium
- 39:24Speaker 1: is awesome. Miles, tell me something about you that people
- 39:28Speaker 1: don't know.
- 39:30Speaker 12: Very into cars, the mechanics, the mechanics of cars.
- 39:34Speaker 3: I could sit down all.
- 39:35Speaker 12: Day talk about all different types of cars, but this
- 39:37Speaker 12: the engines that I'm very into. If you know me,
- 39:42Speaker 12: then you know that I'm very into cars. But if
- 39:44Speaker 12: you do, if you just know of me or don't
- 39:46Speaker 12: really know me that well, that's probably a fun little fact.
- 39:49Speaker 3: What's the dream car? The dream car?
- 39:52Speaker 12: See it always upbrate those into categories of hypercars, supercars, trucks,
- 39:59Speaker 12: comfort cars, luxury, but the dream car has always been
- 40:04Speaker 12: a Lamborghini. Ve been to the recivj if well, I
- 40:07Speaker 12: do fit in it, but barely.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, one of the disadvantages of being your size. All right,
- 40:13Speaker 1: final fun fact with Miles Murphy. This one's kind of deep.
- 40:16Speaker 1: If you could meet anybody in history, living or deceased,
- 40:22Speaker 1: who would that person be?
- 40:24Speaker 12: Lebron, Denzel Washington, and j Cole Those are like, those
- 40:27Speaker 12: are like my top three, like because I always Lebron's
- 40:30Speaker 12: always been like the number one athlete him and Bo
- 40:33Speaker 12: Jackson the number one athlete of athletes of all.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Time in my opinion, and then Denzel.
- 40:40Speaker 12: Always I always feel like he'll leave you with a
- 40:42Speaker 12: few nuggets that'll just leave you thinking after every conversation.
- 40:45Speaker 3: And then same with j Cole.
- 40:46Speaker 12: I feel like he's just he's one of my favorite
- 40:48Speaker 12: artists of all time.
- 40:50Speaker 3: And then he very just a very knowledgeable person. You
- 40:53Speaker 3: were off the hot seat. I appreciate your time. Best
- 40:56Speaker 3: of Like the rest of the year, I appreciate it.
