SPEAKER_01: And today we are very excited to have with us Barbara Banner.
• 1:00
SPEAKER_01: She is a psychic medium.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_01: And also, I'd like you to introduce a little bit about what the trance style aspect of your work is so that I don't butcher it from a lack of understanding.
• 1:10
  SPEAKER_01: So welcome, Barbara.
• 1:12
SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for joining us and giving us the gift of your time today.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_02: I am so pleased to be here.
• 1:17
SPEAKER_01: Do you want me to talk trance now or would bring it into the So why don't you just give a little bit of background first about what it is that you do currently, um, how that fits into it?
• 1:26
SPEAKER_01: Because I know it's part of your kind of working title, if you will.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I think that people have a maybe a little bit of a preconceived notion about psychic medium and then how that may differ a little bit.
• 1:37
  SPEAKER_02: Sure.
• 1:37
SPEAKER_02: So um every medium is a psychic, not every psychic is a medium.
• 1:43
SPEAKER_02: Uh in in my readings, there's a an aspect of psychic that comes in, and and it's usually uh it feels a little denser when it comes out.
• 1:53
SPEAKER_02: Usually that that comes in when somebody's talking about somebody who's alive, who's who's got it, you know, not crossed over, and they'll say, I'm having problems with my son.
• 2:03
SPEAKER_02: I say, Don't say any poor, let me tune in.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_02: So I just tune in that way.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_02: Um, the evidential mediumship is I'm working with my guides and uh higher self and a sole communicator from the clients.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_02: Uh, and we're all working together, and they're funneling information to me that I pass along to the client.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_02: And I'm aware of it.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_02: I hear it, I see it, I feel it.
• 2:29
SPEAKER_02: I sometimes they move me.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_02: Um, I always say, if I break into a twerk, please do not call 911.
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, it's not necessary.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_02: Um, so I and so I am totally aware of what's going on in evidential mediumship class.
• 2:47
  SPEAKER_02: Um, reading.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_02: Uh for trance, I put myself into an altered state.
• 2:54
SPEAKER_02: So I am not aware of what I'm saying other than the first few words.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_02: And the point is to get my head out of it completely, and spirit sort of takes over.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not creepy or anything.
• 3:07
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not, I don't sound like Winston Churchill.
• 3:10
SPEAKER_02: Um I I just a little slower and um and and it's it's maybe full more flowery than I normally say, but um, and and a little quieter.
• 3:23
SPEAKER_02: So and then when I'm done, I don't know what I said.
• 3:26
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, so that's where it's I'm in a I'm in a different zone.
• 3:31
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 3:32
SPEAKER_02: So I they could, you know, it they there could be a few words that I remember, but it's not like I'm doing a reading.
• 3:38
  SPEAKER_01: So it's it's somewhat somewhat like a channel.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_01: You could channel shit.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_01: Try basically a like it like you're channeling, whether it's spirit, whether it's source, whether it's a a person who has departed, and it's I've heard it kind of termed like an alignment of frequency.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_01: Do you feel that that is an accurate statement?
• 4:00
SPEAKER_02: That is all about doing a reading, is is aligning your frequency because for us to do it, we have to raise our free our our energy, um, and they have to lower their vibration.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_02: So our vibrations need to meet for it to be a solid, uh, a solid reading and a really a good connection.
• 4:20
  SPEAKER_02: So that works.
• 4:22
  SPEAKER_02: That's that's the goal.
• 4:23
  SPEAKER_02: That's the magic, right?
• 4:25
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_02: You were a hundred percent right, lady.
• 4:29
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, as you were speaking, and I and that's why I love kind of having these conversation style, we'll call it an interview, but I like to think of them more as just conversations.
• 4:37
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_01: Um, and as you were talking, as we spoke previously, I'm I'm a Reiki master.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_01: So I have I work with energy, I definitely tap into other people's energy.
• 4:47
SPEAKER_01: I'm not trained as a medium, so I definitely want to get into the distinction between that.
• 4:52
SPEAKER_01: But it I found it so funny that you mentioned psychic and people being alive versus passed over.
• 4:59
SPEAKER_01: And the reason that I found that really interesting is I was doing a Reiki session on a client and there and I got very freaked out personally because I saw in my mind's eye a gentleman with very specific um glasses, uh, you know, like the 80s style glasses, and I and I forget what his name is, and I want to be respectful of my my client's privacy, but I said, I just said, who's let's call him, you know, Frank?
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_01: Who's Frank?
• 5:31
SPEAKER_01: And she kind of did one of these, and she started talking to me about this person and his relationship to her, and I'm thinking this person's passed over, and she's like, Oh no, he's still alive.
• 5:41
  SPEAKER_01: And I was just like, I don't wait a minute, I don't understand.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_01: So can you explain to me?
• 5:47
SPEAKER_01: Do you understand how that works and what that because it totally freaked me out?
• 5:51
SPEAKER_01: That's not what I do per se.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_02: You had a mediumship moment there that you saw him um and you felt you uh I take it you felt him in some way, the the the energy change.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_02: Um, and it's really great that you got a name.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_02: So names are a little elusive for me, unless it's a weird one, like you know, who's Mordecai?
• 6:13
  SPEAKER_02: That's my grandfather, okay?
• 6:17
  SPEAKER_02: Forget it.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_02: Um so you had a you did a reading, you had a you had the beginnings of a mediumship reading.
• 6:26
SPEAKER_01: But I wonder how that what do you happen to know?
• 6:28
SPEAKER_01: And this is purely curiosity in the flow state right now, because I never realized it was something that you could do with someone who was still in this plane of existence, let's say.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_01: Um I was always attuned to those who had crossed over reaching out.
• 6:44
SPEAKER_01: I didn't realize it was something that you could see or intuit versus someone who was.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_02: It was a psychic, it was a psychic reading to, you know, you you read the the information in the field, the auric field and the quantum field, and and you they they brought it to you and you plucked it out of the uh out of the ether.
• 7:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 7:08
  SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
• 7:08
SPEAKER_01: All right, well, I just I just it flew into my head as you were saying that because I it was a very disconcerting expensive, not no negative way, just out of the realm of normalcy.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_01: Is that the first time it happened?
• 7:20
  SPEAKER_01: In that way, yes.
• 7:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, there's probably gonna be more, and if there's more of those little incidents, you they might be go take a class, I mean.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just might I might need to pick your brain offline about that.
• 7:35
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's fine.
• 7:36
  SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_01: But but actually to that end, so let's let's flow with the evolution of the conversation and talk a little bit about how you realized that you had this gift, if you want to call it that.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_01: I know we can say that everyone has the ability to hone into this, but some people may have a little more of an inclination, right?
• 7:54
SPEAKER_01: A little more predisposed or maybe even a little more open to it, because some people can be very shut down towards even the word psychic.
• 8:02
SPEAKER_01: I know people I've worked with have used intuitive healer because they don't they have, you know, like a an aversion to that word.
• 8:08
SPEAKER_01: But how did you begin to realize that you had this kind of innate contact ability?
• 8:17
SPEAKER_02: Well, first of all, I when I was about 13, I said to my friends, because I felt like I was a little psychic, you know, I knew some things were gonna happen or whatever, and I said, I think I'm a witch.
• 8:27
SPEAKER_02: Okay, because I didn't know what else to call it.
• 8:29
  SPEAKER_02: I was 13, okay.
• 8:31
SPEAKER_02: Then nothing, nothing, nothing for like 40 years.
• 8:36
SPEAKER_02: Um and and all of a sudden in the house was just crazy paranormal things going on, like a little storm here, things flying off the shelf, my mother-in-law's picture on the mantle.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_02: She threw herself off and broke in a million pieces.
• 8:54
SPEAKER_02: And I had nothing to do with that either.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_02: And and lights flashing, fans going.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it was going so fast.
• 9:02
  SPEAKER_02: We didn't touch it.
• 9:03
SPEAKER_02: You know, you have to do a remote control.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_02: We didn't touch it, it was both rooms at once.
• 9:07
SPEAKER_02: And the light in the in the bedroom was flashing too, but there was no light bulb in it.
• 9:11
SPEAKER_02: I had taken it out earlier to put in another fan.
• 9:15
SPEAKER_02: So I just we just looked at each other and orbs all over a video I had just shot.
• 9:21
SPEAKER_02: I just said, okay, something's going on here.
• 9:23
SPEAKER_02: The spirit is is trying to reach me, and uh and I'm gonna answer.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_02: And I took a class and I saw spirit and and in like the first time I the first time I did a practice, like I had never even meditated before.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was like just a complete rookie.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_02: I didn't know anything, but I hit the ground running.
• 9:52
SPEAKER_02: And then I found out that um from other channelers that I'd been doing it for centuries.
• 9:59
SPEAKER_02: So it seems like they deactivated me or put me on ice when I got into this life.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_02: And then they activated me, you know, at an older age and said, All right, we need you now.
• 10:11
SPEAKER_02: Things are waking up here, and that all happened during the pandemic.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_02: Um, and then I found out from my mother, uh, because I wanted to tell her, Mom, I'm seeing um dad.
• 10:22
  SPEAKER_02: Okay, he's coming through.
• 10:24
SPEAKER_02: And I said, I didn't know how to tell you.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_02: She's because she was uh almost 104.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_02: I didn't want to push her over the edge, okay.
• 10:31
  SPEAKER_02: Right, of course.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_02: That's where she wanted to go, but I didn't want to be the one responsible.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_02: Um I said, you know, I'm seeing her.
• 10:39
SPEAKER_02: What you I didn't know how to tell you.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_02: She goes, Your grandmother was dragging me to gypsies and fortune tellers and terror readers when I was like five years old.
• 10:48
SPEAKER_02: She was just, come on, we're going.
• 10:51
SPEAKER_02: She said, and she had the juju.
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_02: I said, Well, mom, you're 104.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_02: When were you gonna tell me?
• 10:56
SPEAKER_02: So she didn't have an answer.
• 10:59
SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, it was it was it was like a family secret, but people didn't talk about it then, you know.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_02: It was like you they thought you were a little crazy.
• 11:08
  SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
• 11:09
  SPEAKER_01: No, it's true.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_01: And I remember my like, and and so actually I have another follow-up completely out-of-the-box question.
• 11:16
SPEAKER_01: How much do you align to the idea of the the juju, if you will, being passed down?
• 11:22
SPEAKER_01: And do you think that it's bloodline or soul line or both, or either, depending?
• 11:29
SPEAKER_02: Well, let me just give you an example of so you if you see a little boy who's like three and a half or four years old, and he toddles in and he sits at a piano and he's never really played, but someone's humming something, and all of a sudden he can do it.
• 11:48
SPEAKER_02: He was probably Mozart in another life, okay?
• 11:52
SPEAKER_02: So it's a little DNA, uh, it's a lot soul, and in one of his other lives, he played the piano, and we take those good things with us.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_02: We take things with us.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_02: So obviously, I had some experience in other lives because I hit the ground running.
• 12:14
  SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_01: And I know, and and the reason I ask is because there was um my mother had like seemingly a sixth sense, but I think a lot of mothers have that with their daughters or their children in general.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_01: She always just seemed to know when I was up to no good.
• 12:28
SPEAKER_01: That was like a thing for her, and I always got I got in trouble all the time.
• 12:33
SPEAKER_01: Not bad, but you know, troublesome.
• 12:35
SPEAKER_01: Um, but I remember hearing stories and talk about we shall not mention it from my I think her father's mother.
• 12:44
SPEAKER_01: So my great-grandmother, who was the town bruja, undisclosed in Spain.
• 12:51
SPEAKER_01: So she was, however, the stories I heard were like lights flickering, walls shaking, people went to her kind of a thing.
• 13:00
SPEAKER_01: But we're talking like 1800 Spanish Catholic Spain.
• 13:04
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, talk about we're not gonna bring that up publicly.
• 13:07
SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, sorry, great grandma, spoiler alert, we just did you should be safe now.
• 13:14
  SPEAKER_01: Right, exactly.
• 13:15
SPEAKER_01: So that's why I wonder if it's like if it's in there, right?
• 13:19
SPEAKER_01: In theory, potentially a little bit more so for some than others, and if it can go through like a bloodline, family line, soul line in that way and be passed down.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I have a friend who's everyone in the family is is a medium or a psychic, or they've got some juju, the whole family, and the uncles, and so yeah, it it's definitely can be in a uh it's it's normal that that somebody else in the family, it can skip a generation.
• 13:49
SPEAKER_02: My mother should surely did not have it.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_02: Um uh so yeah, it's and both.
• 13:56
SPEAKER_02: You could just be we don't know.
• 13:59
  SPEAKER_01: We don't, yeah.
• 14:00
SPEAKER_01: You know, we can't have answers for all of it, right?
• 14:03
SPEAKER_01: So talk to me a little bit when you mentioned that you were meditating and that you hadn't meditated before, because I'm obviously I teach guided meditations.
• 14:09
SPEAKER_01: I I love meditating as kind of my jam, and I love it.
• 14:13
SPEAKER_02: I've done it every day since.
• 14:15
SPEAKER_01: You know, I I feel like I channel when I do guided meditations because I don't go to Chat GPT and have them type it up for me.
• 14:22
SPEAKER_01: I actually just tap in, I'm in a meditative state, it flows through me from spirit, whatever you want to, you know, whatever you align to.
• 14:30
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I just and that's how I channel, if you will.
• 14:34
SPEAKER_01: So it's not dissimilar to what you do, but it's it's more for that, for that speaking through for the betterment of someone else to be able to get into a similar goal-based meditation.
• 14:45
  SPEAKER_02: Who are you getting?
• 14:45
SPEAKER_02: Who are you, who is who's coming out of your mouth?
• 14:49
SPEAKER_01: I wish I could tell you, but I always ask to connect to, you know, like sore spirit, um, my higher self or higher angels, but it's very much if you go back and listen to them, they're always very focus-based.
• 15:02
SPEAKER_01: So it's all about tuning into your intuition, into your higher self, trusting your process and and guiding you to your next best step in whatever capacity that is.
• 15:13
  SPEAKER_01: Why do you ask?
• 15:14
  SPEAKER_01: Now, now I'm curious.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm wondering because sometimes I'll wake up at three in the morning or something, and I'll I'll feel like, okay, I have a download going in.
• 15:24
SPEAKER_02: I need to go in the other room and do a trance because I don't remember what I say on trance, and I just take my phone and turn on, you know, uh turn on the uh audio recorder, and I find out what I said afterwards.
• 15:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:39
SPEAKER_01: So when when you do so, what is so then for your so for your process and also for the trance aspect, what do you consider?
• 15:46
SPEAKER_01: How do you know that you're getting a download?
• 15:48
SPEAKER_01: How do you how does what what happens?
• 15:50
SPEAKER_01: What what experience do you go through?
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_02: Crown chakra.
• 15:55
  SPEAKER_02: I feel it, it's tingling.
• 15:57
SPEAKER_02: I sometimes even see it.
• 16:00
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 16:00
SPEAKER_02: Um, like they're pouring a a picture of something down my down the top of my head.
• 16:06
SPEAKER_02: And then for several days, or once it was like a month, I just would walk around in a body buzz.
• 16:11
SPEAKER_02: I mean, I just was I was just buzzing with electric electricity.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_02: Um I felt it, it was it was there, and I and I I'm glad because it saves me from reading a lot of books, which I don't have time for.
• 16:25
SPEAKER_02: So I always I told them, just download it.
• 16:28
SPEAKER_02: Don't just pile up books for me.
• 16:30
  SPEAKER_02: I don't have time.
• 16:32
SPEAKER_01: And so when you go into that, well, let's so there's there's the trance state, but then there's the meditative state.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_01: And are they different for you?
• 16:40
SPEAKER_01: Like if you try to go into a meditation versus a channeled trance, what's the distinction there for you?
• 16:48
SPEAKER_02: Well, a meditation, I clear my mind, and when I'm going into trance, somebody's there trying to talk.
• 16:55
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 16:55
SPEAKER_02: So the whole point of meditation for me is to get my mind clear and empty so I can just sort of listen, you know, see what I see, see what I say, you know, I mean, what I hear.
• 17:11
SPEAKER_02: Um just to pick up anything I can, but just to be in the sit in the power.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it doesn't get much better than that.
• 17:19
SPEAKER_02: Um just that feeling of just being floating, just like I'm in the womb and I'm just floating around.
• 17:26
  SPEAKER_02: It's beautiful.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_01: It can be very much so.
• 17:30
SPEAKER_01: So do you and that is that the state that you are generally entering into when you work with a client, let's say, for purposes.
• 17:38
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 17:39
SPEAKER_02: I have a uh a little process I do before uh and then I as I'm I meditate and then I have a little process.
• 17:48
  SPEAKER_02: I always listen.
• 17:49
SPEAKER_01: Only share what you're comfortable sharing.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_01: This is not like a, you know, this is not a spoiler alert secrets for mediums and training.
• 17:56
SPEAKER_01: Like I just want you to feel comfortable with what you share.
• 17:59
SPEAKER_02: After I meditate or I listen to a guided meditation in bed while I'm still a little groggy, um, and and then I I climb a little ladder and give God a hug, okay, to start it off and feel a lot of gratitude.
• 18:12
SPEAKER_02: Then I go down on the floor uh visually and roll around with two spirit animals.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_02: You know, there's nothing like animal love that just jacks you right up.
• 18:23
SPEAKER_02: And then I get gumby arms, you know, that stretch forever, and I give all the angels in the big big circle there a big hug, and then I have five, all my guides, and then I bring the two and and we go into a little place, and then um we bring in my higher self, and he puts off like fireworks, and I'm ready.
• 18:50
SPEAKER_01: You're ready and you're ready, and then do you find so do you find, and maybe it's different, but are you would you say that when we were talking about the ability, would you say that you have more clear audience, clairvoyance, clairsentience, what claircognizance, depending on how you want to say it?
• 19:07
SPEAKER_01: What what do you see things?
• 19:09
  SPEAKER_01: Do you hear things?
• 19:12
SPEAKER_02: Clearly enough to say he didn't like his front teeth.
• 19:16
SPEAKER_02: There was one that was overlapping, or um, your son's toe is really chubby, the big toe, and it's going up like this.
• 19:24
  SPEAKER_02: So that happened yesterday.
• 19:25
SPEAKER_02: She said, absolutely, I can't believe you're bringing that up.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_02: He had funky, wonky toes.
• 19:30
SPEAKER_02: Um, and and I get their essence, you know, how who they are, how they are, and and um are they funny?
• 19:39
SPEAKER_02: Are they uh uh angry or um and so I just it all sorts coming in.
• 19:46
SPEAKER_02: I the first thing I need to do is to um well, I always ask client, who do you want?
• 19:51
SPEAKER_02: Okay, who's the most important person?
• 19:54
SPEAKER_02: Um most most mediums say, well, let's see who comes.
• 19:57
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 19:58
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 19:58
SPEAKER_02: I don't want to waste any of my clients' time talking to Aunt Lula Bell from 1820.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_02: Okay, they don't even know her.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_02: There cannot be any connection.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_02: Um so it's usually their son, their daughter, their husband, their mother, ma their father, or you know, fiance, things like that.
• 20:16
SPEAKER_02: And then I just go straight for them and I I ex I tell them who's who's coming into my awareness, you know, and what they look like and what they are, and and hopefully they'll say, Yep, that's my dad.
• 20:29
SPEAKER_02: Um and then I just uh start funneling information that that um the team gives me.
• 20:37
SPEAKER_01: And so how do you feel?
• 20:40
SPEAKER_01: Do you I mean it's gotta be so beautiful in one way and also uh potentially, I don't want to say challenging, but it's not easy work.
• 20:50
SPEAKER_01: I mean you're you're dealing with loss, you're dealing with grief, you're dealing with grieving families.
• 20:55
SPEAKER_01: Um, I know you mentioned uh offline and we'll I'm leading into that now, but how you got into this work from the 3D versus the inherent gifts.
• 21:05
SPEAKER_01: Um and it it, you know, there's there can be a lot of trauma associated with doing this kind of work, no?
• 21:13
SPEAKER_02: I don't feel the trauma unless I get a client who's skeptical, um uh uh difficult, and um and and that's that's where my trauma comes in.
• 21:27
SPEAKER_02: I don't know about her trauma, right?
• 21:29
SPEAKER_02: But they're causing me trauma because you know, somebody who wants to ask you a question like, what was I wearing last night?
• 21:36
SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's not what we do.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_02: We're not monkeys, we're not looking for clapping.
• 21:40
SPEAKER_02: We are here for a sacred um connection.
• 21:44
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 21:45
SPEAKER_02: So so those kind of things can can get me off track and and and they take you out of of your purpose, I think, too.
• 21:54
SPEAKER_02: They get me out of my zone, you know.
• 21:56
  SPEAKER_02: I need I can't be dealing with that.
• 21:58
  SPEAKER_02: Um And it's interesting.
• 22:01
SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I'll end it really early and just say, you know what, the energy's not quite right.
• 22:06
SPEAKER_02: Let's just reschedule for like two days or something.
• 22:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 22:09
SPEAKER_02: And then as soon as they leave, I just go get a download from the client.
• 22:12
SPEAKER_02: They didn't want them to be there.
• 22:14
SPEAKER_02: They but they do want their story told.
• 22:16
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 22:16
  SPEAKER_02: So that makes sense.
• 22:18
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_02: Two pages of of stuff, and when they come back, I just read it to them.
• 22:22
SPEAKER_02: They said everything was correct.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_02: So I've got a very funny spirit.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_02: My guides are very funny.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_02: They they just they amaze me a lot with things that they show me or the way they the way they give me symbolism for things.
• 22:37
SPEAKER_01: So and may I ask, just because I'm curious, is I had done a spirit guide meditation.
• 22:42
  SPEAKER_01: I've done a couple.
• 22:42
SPEAKER_01: I actually channeled one myself, and then but I had worked with someone who did a Reiki, um, she did a Reiki level one intro for me, and she had done a spirit a spirit guide introduction for me.
• 22:55
SPEAKER_01: So I'm just curious, did you ever how did you come upon your spirit guides?
• 23:00
SPEAKER_01: Well, in if you're comfortable sharing that.
• 23:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
• 23:03
SPEAKER_02: I'm like an open book.
• 23:05
  SPEAKER_02: All right.
• 23:06
SPEAKER_01: Um, just don't ask me how old I am and I'm never, never if you'll do me the same kindness.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_02: In a qu in a class, in Suzanne Geisman's class, who was my first teacher, um, there was a me meditation for spirit guides.
• 23:21
SPEAKER_02: Um, and I uh I did it, and I I got somebody who named I you we ask for names and they don't even use names, but uh if we need a name, so and he said shaw, and I know he was uh blue.
• 23:37
SPEAKER_02: Um so and so little by little I got I got um I got them and uh it's funny.
• 23:46
SPEAKER_02: Uh another medium said, Can you get my spirit guide?
• 23:50
SPEAKER_02: I want to I I want to see if you can get my spirit guide.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_02: I said I've never that was like in the beginning, I said I've never tried to get a spirit guide.
• 23:57
  SPEAKER_02: I don't even know.
• 23:58
  SPEAKER_02: But what the hell?
• 23:59
SPEAKER_02: All that can happen is that I don't get them.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_02: So I said, I'll just tell you what I see.
• 24:04
  SPEAKER_02: Well, okay.
• 24:05
SPEAKER_02: If your spirit guide is yellow and looks like SpongeBob with the googly eyes, who's throwing himself, bouncing off a wall.
• 24:15
SPEAKER_02: He now he's going by me on a pogo stick and he's just jumping on a on a bucking bronco.
• 24:22
SPEAKER_02: I said, if that's your spirit guide, I got him.
• 24:25
  SPEAKER_02: She said, That's him.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_01: You can't make this stuff up.
• 24:29
  SPEAKER_01: You really can't.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_01: No, you really, really can't.
• 24:31
  SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
• 24:33
  SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
• 24:34
  SPEAKER_01: I love, I love that.
• 24:36
  SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_02: So she was that's that's very that's very you just have to have guts and and not be afraid because fear is gonna keep you back in everything in your life, not just it's the fear.
• 24:49
SPEAKER_02: Because what's the worst that can happen?
• 24:50
  SPEAKER_02: You fail.
• 24:51
SPEAKER_02: There's no such thing as failing on the other side, because it's all a lesson that you'll you'll have to come back and take that class again, but maybe you'll maybe you'll learn it the lesson.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the repetition is is the lesson until it's not, right?
• 25:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 25:07
SPEAKER_01: Um, so but and and so when do you get does this work affect you on an emotional level?
• 25:16
SPEAKER_01: Aside from you know, potentially clients that are not really ready, prepared, or or there's that friction from from the client friction.
• 25:24
SPEAKER_01: As you came into this, you were in a different space entirely.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_02: Um I was in advertising, but I spent 30 years doing um volunteer uh um jobs.
• 25:35
SPEAKER_02: Uh and the last one I did was for uh the city's crisis response team where I went out and met the police and the coroner on the scene, and the dead body was there, and the family was there.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_02: So we had to, me and somebody else, or just whatever, had to go and deal with the family because the police have to get information and you know, measure and take pictures, and they don't have time, they can't do it.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_02: So the city set up a team like this, and it's it's it's fantastic.
• 26:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:10
SPEAKER_02: So we spend our time with the client, and for whatever reason that I can compartmentalize, I think I could only remember once or twice where it really affected me.
• 26:24
SPEAKER_02: And other than that, I just say, I am here to do a job.
• 26:28
SPEAKER_02: This is not about me, and I'm gonna give them my full attention.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_02: And yes, some of them are so sad, and you're you have to tell a parent that their child has passed, and right it it's but they need you, and and and there's no room for for us to to lose it.
• 26:49
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_01: No, you know, I I had a I had a yoga client who was a retired nurse, and she was just this wonderful, strong woman.
• 26:59
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, she was just that that type.
• 27:01
SPEAKER_01: And I remember my grandmother was was was passing, essentially, right?
• 27:06
SPEAKER_01: And I came into into the yoga studio and I was a little bit frazzled, and I explained it was a small group of women.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_01: Um, so it was like three women.
• 27:13
SPEAKER_01: So I was very, very candid with them, and I said, I'm so sorry, ladies.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_01: I said, but I just you know, I was on the phone with my grandmother's facility and they were asking me all these questions, and this this older woman goes, They're filling out her passing over paperwork, and we're not gonna do this class today, and you need to go.
• 27:34
SPEAKER_01: And and so I kind of did, you know, one of those like like come to come to you know who moments, right?
• 27:42
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_01: And she said to me something that I'll never forget.
• 27:44
SPEAKER_01: She said, you know, because I was with it was in the room with my grandmother when she passed, and it was later that same day.
• 27:50
SPEAKER_01: So I went went to her, I was in the room with her.
• 27:52
SPEAKER_01: She was already had already lost consciousness.
• 27:54
SPEAKER_01: Um, and I I just kind of just sat with her.
• 27:57
SPEAKER_01: I think I prayed the rosary for her because she was very, very a staunch Catholic, and um, I got to be with her in those last moments, and I hope that she knew I was there.
• 28:05
SPEAKER_01: But the woman thank you.
• 28:08
SPEAKER_01: Uh, but the woman said to me, you know, there are some people that can stick around, and I'm probably butchering what she said, but there are some people that that are there to clean up the body, and there are some people that just can't do it.
• 28:21
SPEAKER_01: And she's like, and you're the one that's there.
• 28:24
SPEAKER_01: And I've been that when my mother passed, I've been that for my for my grandmother, you know, I was there, I was there for a friend of mine who passed over in the room when she passed, kind of gave her the hey, it's okay to go, and within minutes.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_01: So there are certain people, and it sounds like that's very much you prior even to this role, that retain their composure, and that can be that that little pillar of strength in the moment for those those that truly need a pillar to leave.
• 28:54
SPEAKER_02: I have it in my um in my bio that um I'm at my best when others are at their worst.
• 29:02
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 29:05
SPEAKER_02: If you just say, why are you doing this this crisis team and going on you know, police scenes?
• 29:12
  SPEAKER_02: I said, because I can.
• 29:15
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 29:17
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:18
  SPEAKER_01: And it's powerful work.
• 29:19
SPEAKER_01: So I want to thank you for doing that because you know it's it's not everyone that has that capacity.
• 29:26
SPEAKER_01: It's really not everyone that has that capacity.
• 29:28
SPEAKER_01: So thank you for I don't, you know, it makes sense.
• 29:30
SPEAKER_01: I just slipped right into this.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_01: Right into this, yeah, exactly.
• 29:34
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 29:35
SPEAKER_01: Um, so is there any any for I guess those out there who might be on the fence about whether or not they have this this predisposition, is there any advice that you'd give to other people who may want to cultivate um a talent such as yours, or the you know, the potential to deepen a practice where they might be able to also be of service to others?
• 30:04
SPEAKER_02: Well, um everybody has uh the tools they need to do this, which is just a heart and a soul.
• 30:12
  SPEAKER_02: That's it.
• 30:12
SPEAKER_02: You don't need anything else.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_02: Um, it is helpful if you do a little studying on what goes on in the afterlife and what mediums do and everything.
• 30:21
SPEAKER_02: Um we all have intuition.
• 30:24
SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, and people might say, I just had a feeling I shouldn't have gotten on that plane that's going down right now.
• 30:31
SPEAKER_02: There's people who have intuition, but sometimes and many times, intuition are your family on the other side putting something in your head.
• 30:45
SPEAKER_02: Um and but people just seem to think, oh, I can't trust that, you know.
• 30:49
  SPEAKER_02: That's can't be.
• 30:51
SPEAKER_02: Um but people should follow their intuition because it it may not be from them and and and not question it because so what if it's wrong?
• 31:02
SPEAKER_02: I mean, it just like I heard a story from a client.
• 31:07
SPEAKER_02: She was she was driving home and she had this intuition instead of going down the main road where she usually does, to just take the take the other road.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_02: It was a few minutes longer, but she just felt uh I would like that today.
• 31:22
SPEAKER_02: Well, when she got home, she you know, is on the news that there was a like a gas tanker truck on the road that she would have been on.
• 31:32
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 31:33
SPEAKER_02: So her intuition saved her life, and she didn't know why, but she trusted it.
• 31:39
  SPEAKER_02: It's all about trust.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, trust is you don't trust, forget it.
• 31:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, you're 100% right.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_01: And I think there is an element of that that vibration in this work too, right?
• 31:51
SPEAKER_01: So if if oh my gosh, you can't possibly do what you do without without that that faith and that trust in in the ability, right?
• 32:00
SPEAKER_01: And in in essentially the unknown, right?
• 32:03
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 32:04
SPEAKER_02: I have to say that full trust did not come till the very end.
• 32:10
SPEAKER_02: Because um, and it affects your reading because it's uh you know, now when I give information, I just expect it to be accurate if I'm really in the, you know, not if my mind is where it's supposed to be, because it's not me talking.
• 32:30
SPEAKER_02: Um and so I it I trust it, I trust.
• 32:35
SPEAKER_02: And the times that I didn't trust what they gave me was true, but I didn't trust it.
• 32:42
SPEAKER_02: And then I thought, shucks, why didn't I do that?
• 32:46
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because it was right, and it takes a while to understand that it's not your imagination that is making you think that.
• 32:55
SPEAKER_02: And imagination is how we communicate anyway.
• 32:58
SPEAKER_02: I mean, you said see something in your head and you speak it, or you hear that's how we communicate.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_02: So it's not like a negative, it's just believing what you're receiving, right?
• 33:10
  SPEAKER_02: Right.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_02: And we we grow up saying uh seeing is believing.
• 33:15
SPEAKER_02: Uh-uh, not in this gig.
• 33:18
SPEAKER_02: It's believing is seeing, because if you don't believe it, you are not going to receive it.
• 33:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:25
  SPEAKER_01: I yeah, I think you're I think you're 100% right.
• 33:27
SPEAKER_01: And I I I what I struggle with, and I I leaning on a story that a friend shared with me, is essentially this idea of when something bad happens in in your life, and and this particular conversation that I had with a friend of mine, where she really believed that this person, it was a romantic relationship, this person was her sole person.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_01: And and like her intuition told her that she fundamentally believed it, and when the relationship dissolved, and I'm sure this is true for so many people, not just women, right?
• 34:02
SPEAKER_01: That it was, of course, the morning of the relationship and what had not come to be, but also the trust in her intuition that she believed in this so fundamentally and so whole so wholeheartedly that it was actually that shattering of trust within herself that I think she was grieving as much as, if not more, than the relationship ending.
• 34:31
SPEAKER_02: And I'm sure she has some tarot cards pulled and they all were in line with what she thought as well.
• 34:38
SPEAKER_02: Uh, because I know somebody who's the same exact scenario.
• 34:43
SPEAKER_02: And it's really hard to get over it because you are grieving your trust and yourself.
• 34:48
SPEAKER_02: And how could I think that?
• 34:50
SPEAKER_02: How could how could I like you know start planning a wedding, you know, and then it's like our fourth date?
• 34:56
  SPEAKER_02: Um, it's it's it is can be earth-shattering.
• 35:00
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 35:02
SPEAKER_01: So I know it's it's hard for people to lean into that trust.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_01: And, you know, there's there's different, I'm sure there's different nuanced ways to cultivate it, but I think I think there's, as you mentioned, there's intuition.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_01: And I think intuition is that aspect that that was potentially shattered for this friend of mine, but also what you're talking about is leaning into the trust of what you receive.
• 35:24
SPEAKER_01: And I think there's a big distinction between what you perceive and what you receive.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_01: And I think that when it comes to intuition in this type of an instance, it could be there was a perception that that maybe was eclipsing the intuition or something like that boyfriend kind of thing.
• 35:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 35:48
SPEAKER_01: Well, the distinct the distinction between the intuition and the distinction between the trust, that trust of the recepting of the channel, the trust of the information coming through, versus this idea of intuition trusting it and it not being correct, and then that shattering just the whole thing.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_02: She was, you know, she was trying to manifest this is what something she wanted.
• 36:12
SPEAKER_02: She she she believed, she believed in the fairy tale.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 36:18
SPEAKER_02: As opposed to the the perception may have been different for somebody else.
• 36:25
SPEAKER_02: Maybe she, you know, a lot of people overlook things in the beginning of a relationship and just say, Oh, I can fix that.
• 36:32
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 36:32
SPEAKER_02: Um, but I always say, if a guy says something, believe it.
• 36:38
  SPEAKER_01: Believe him.
• 36:39
  SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
• 36:40
SPEAKER_02: If he says, I don't really want a girlfriend, I don't want anything really, you know, I'm working hard.
• 36:45
SPEAKER_02: This just let that be true.
• 36:47
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 36:47
  SPEAKER_02: It's just believe it.
• 36:50
SPEAKER_02: They're saying it in the beginning so that they can always say, I told you on our first day.
• 36:56
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 36:57
SPEAKER_02: Didn't want to get married.
• 36:59
  SPEAKER_02: Yes.
• 37:00
SPEAKER_02: You didn't believe it, but you know, we all want to paint our and we do, we paint our own futures.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_02: We create our futures, but you can't create everything.
• 37:10
  SPEAKER_01: No.
