- 0:21Speaker 4: what's going on with Nas Cook, young guy out of Princeton,
- 0:23Speaker 4: real bright guy. And then on Thursday– On Thursday, I
- 0:27Speaker 4: usually post a conversation that I've had with someone.
- 0:32Speaker 3: In the community and or a teammate and or a
- 0:35Speaker 3: former player. And then I've been doing these little history.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Lessons on Fridays, you know, little Titans history lessons.
- 0:43Speaker 3: But I think I'm going to stop doing.
- 0:44Speaker 4: That at 0 and 5 because it's a little.

- 2:00Speaker 1: Where are you going back to right now before you
- 2:02Speaker 1: go anywhere else that you want to check out?
- 2:05Speaker 3: I always like Spain. Spain is cool, and I like Portugal.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Deep ridiculous, or kind of.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Rose up there. He'll be back in a second. He does.
- 2:21Speaker 1: They do an annual trip, I believe, each August, he
- 2:23Speaker 1: and his daughters. And they go all over the place.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And if it's not like L.A. or something, he's across
- 2:32Speaker 1: the world.
- 2:33Speaker 2: KB is.
- 2:36Speaker 1: So we've got, yeah, Withrow's coming up in just a moment.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And if KB comes back, we'll hop on with him.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I want to get to what surprises me Oh, there
- 2:48Speaker 1: he is.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Or he's trying to.
- 2:51Speaker 1: What surprises me about the state of the Tennessee Titans
- 2:54Speaker 1: is the lack of.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Care about winning.
- 3:00Speaker 1: They say this, but Amy's really statements in the past
- 3:04Speaker 1: about really poor records and said that the Vrabel records
- 3:09Speaker 1: weren't good either. Said that John Robbins' records weren't good.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And now we don't hear from them at all.
- 3:14Speaker 2: KB's back. You said Portugal?
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I like Portugal. I like Spain, Barcelona, Marbella.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Like I like places like water, you know, where you like,
- 3:25Speaker 4: you know, beaches and stuff like that.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Cause it gives a lot of variety.
- 3:30Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Where have you not been
- 3:31Speaker 2: that you're going to check out next?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Japan for sure. I got to get my kids to Japan.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I got to get my kids to Japan.
- 3:39Speaker 1: You walking around Japan will be, I mean, that would
- 3:42Speaker 1: be awesome, man.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Um, Favorite teammate?
- 3:49Speaker 3: Oh, man. You're going to make me choose one?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 4: If I had to choose one, one teammate. If I
- 3:59Speaker 4: had to choose one teammate, I would choose Lance Schulters because.
- 4:03Speaker 3: he's, he's so funny.
- 4:05Speaker 4: And, um, you know, being from New York, I'm not
- 4:08Speaker 4: from a borough, but I'm five borough thorough.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Like I grew up, grew up 30 minutes, 20, 30
- 4:14Speaker 3: minutes outside of Harlem, Manhattan, all that stuff. I'm a
- 4:17Speaker 3: New York kid, but I don't claim the city.
- 4:19Speaker 4: That being said, um, I understand Lance Schultz's being from
- 4:24Speaker 4: Brooklyn and never meeting or playing with someone really from
- 4:27Speaker 4: New York. He really personified what Brooklyn, that Brooklyn attitude
- 4:32Speaker 4: and to have it on the football field and to
- 4:34Speaker 4: bring it to our team at the time it was needed.
- 4:37Speaker 4: You know, in 2002, he came to us as a
- 4:40Speaker 4: free agent. And I talk about identity. You know, he
- 4:43Speaker 4: helped us forge a new identity. You know, that's when
- 4:46Speaker 4: the Tennessee Tyrants came around. You know what I mean?
- 4:49Speaker 4: Like we weren't getting a lot of respect. because we
- 4:51Speaker 4: weren't winning. So in Tennessee, you got to take your respect.
- 4:55Speaker 4: You know, you think about those teams with Kevin Byard,
- 4:58Speaker 4: Derrick Henry, you know, those teams weren't good at first,
- 5:02Speaker 4: but they had to like kick some ass and, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 4: take some respect around here.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And that's what you got to do.
- 5:08Speaker 4: And I just feel like the team we have now
- 5:09Speaker 4: has no interest in that, you know, it's one-on-one and
- 5:13Speaker 4: they're still learning. how to ball in the NFL, to
- 5:16Speaker 4: be fair, as their coach says. But, you know, that's
- 5:19Speaker 4: what it was all about. We got to take it.
- 5:20Speaker 4: No one's going to give it to you.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Man, like, those teams, they were able to prove it
- 5:28Speaker 1: on Sundays. Like, on the field, they went out and
- 5:31Speaker 1: proved it. This team, they just try to talk things
- 5:34Speaker 1: into existence. Like, they just, all these slogans and, you know,
- 5:37Speaker 1: this is our floor and all. I just, I'm thinking, like,
- 5:40Speaker 1: says who?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Like.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Eventually, man, you got to get you got to get
- 5:46Speaker 4: like pissed off and like hit some people in the mouth.
- 5:49Speaker 3: And it's one of those things.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I feel like the Titans defense played really physical against Baltimore.
- 5:56Speaker 4: And is that just because it was Derrick Henry? You
- 5:58Speaker 4: know that that physicality that they had against Baltimore? we
- 6:02Speaker 4: needed to see them carry that over against the Houston Texans.
- 6:05Speaker 4: And I need to go back and watch. I haven't
- 6:07Speaker 4: seen the all 22 yet. Um, but I need to
- 6:09Speaker 4: go back and just kind of watch like the details
- 6:12Speaker 4: of the game, but sitting there, um, watching the, uh,
- 6:15Speaker 4: watching from where I was watching all gas, no breaks.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Um, the slogan hasn't set in yet.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It was a different coach mentality like six weeks ago, literally.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It's it's, it's changed fast.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Um, Dude, this is a blast. Thank you for the
- 6:32Speaker 1: time early in the morning, too. Let's see. Bullseye View,
- 6:38Speaker 1: at Bullseye View on YouTube. You see it there, football
- 6:41Speaker 1: culture from a player's perspective. And I mean, I've just,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I mean, Keith's been there, done that. You know, it's
- 6:48Speaker 1: more than football with his life experience. So check it out,
- 6:51Speaker 1: youtube.com slash at Bullseye View.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Thank you, man. And we'll catch up soon. I'll see
- 6:57Speaker 2: you around.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, tell Withrow I said what's up.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I will.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Thanks for having me.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he's about to join. Keith Bullock has been our
- 7:04Speaker 1: guest here at Huntington-Withrow at sportinstaked.com. Straight ahead, Chad's going
- 7:09Speaker 1: to jump in. We'll see what the weather's like, the backdrop.
- 7:14Speaker 1: He and I, we always, like if someone joins us
- 7:18Speaker 1: on the show and they're at an arena, they're at
- 7:23Speaker 1: the Final Four, whatever it might be, We're very picky
- 7:27Speaker 1: about the backdrop.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Now, we don't always get to choose the backdrop for them.
- 7:30Speaker 1: But if they sit in the hotel room, and they're
- 7:33Speaker 1: up against the wall, and they're in Dallas, they're in Miami,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'm going to get the backdrop. We'll see where Chad's
- 7:42Speaker 1: set up next on How to Withdraw. as we'll head
- 7:45Speaker 1: down to Florida and check in with Chad. But first,
- 7:48Speaker 1: XXXY Athletics, founded by Jennifer Say, former national champion gymnast,
- 7:52Speaker 1: former Levi's brand president. She walked away from a corporate
- 7:55Speaker 1: job rather than saying something that she didn't believe, and
- 7:57Speaker 1: she started XXXY Athletics instead. Their mission, in their words,
- 8:01Speaker 1: empower female athletes, take a stand for fair competition. They
- 8:04Speaker 1: call it the T that launched a movement. It's where
- 8:05Speaker 1: you get authentic and ready to wear Nashville Balls gear.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And you're about to hear a familiar voice. Chad, Nashville
- 8:13Speaker 1: Balls gear. It's the place to go. XXXY.
- 8:17Speaker 2: That's where you go get it. Tee's Trucker Hats with
- 8:19Speaker 2: you right now. You could go get the shirts if
- 8:21Speaker 2: you want it. That's where you go. New customers get 20%
- 8:24Speaker 2: off your first order when you sign up and free
- 8:26Speaker 2: shipping over $ 100. XXXYathletics.com. That's XX-XYathletics.com.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Dude, you said the wind is howling out there. He's
- 8:36Speaker 1: in Florida and we got the backdrop. I was trying
- 8:40Speaker 1: to mention backdrops like trays and stuff. We would just
- 8:42Speaker 1: see the back of a of a hotel room and
- 8:46Speaker 1: how you and I always like, you know, we want
- 8:48Speaker 1: to see the final four. We don't want to see the,
- 8:51Speaker 1: you know, the hotel bed. But this is, this is fun.
- 8:54Speaker 1: This is fun.
- 8:56Speaker 2: This ain't show friends. This is show business. You know,
- 8:59Speaker 2: this is, this is, we are in the business of show.
- 9:01Speaker 2: You got to show up. I'm not going to, I'm
- 9:03Speaker 2: not going to go to the beach and at not
- 9:05Speaker 2: least show you a nice painting of sea turtles. That's
- 9:08Speaker 2: right behind me in our dining area in the condo.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I mean, that's what we're in this business for. Yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 2: tomorrow or maybe the next day, I'm going to try
- 9:17Speaker 2: to go out on the balcony. My fear is that
- 9:19Speaker 2: it's just going to wash out everything because the sun
- 9:22Speaker 2: is coming up right behind us. And it's a little breezy,
- 9:25Speaker 2: so you're going to hear the wind the whole time. But, yeah,
- 9:27Speaker 2: we're going to give you a sense of what it's
- 9:28Speaker 2: like down here. I'm in the eye of the hurricane
- 9:30Speaker 2: where it just passed through with Iseas. which I'm sure
- 9:34Speaker 2: I butchered that once again, but something like that. Yeah, no,
- 9:37Speaker 2: we're here. There's some debris in the pool at our complex.
- 9:41Speaker 2: They're just now allowing people to start trickling in starting yesterday.
- 9:44Speaker 2: But I'm here doing my part, Hutton, to stimulate the
- 9:47Speaker 2: economy of Perdido Key and the Panhandle because we're going
- 9:51Speaker 2: to be spending a lot of money this week with
- 9:52Speaker 2: the family down here. Hey, I saved this for us
- 9:56Speaker 2: to discuss instead of the first segment.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Tennessee and Arkansas. They get the win. They survive Arkansas.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Mike Keith described this perfectly. He's like, the balls are
- 10:08Speaker 1: in the open. He's like, the balls are, again, double-digit favorites.
- 10:12Speaker 1: We've been there, done that. It's been a while since
- 10:14Speaker 1: we've won here. They're like the car on the interstate
- 10:17Speaker 1: that won't get out of the way. They're just, they're annoying.
- 10:21Speaker 1: That's kind of the way the game went. But man,
- 10:25Speaker 1: the game finishes and I've got questions about Heupel and
- 10:29Speaker 1: questions about, you know, what they're going to do at
- 10:32Speaker 1: quarterback just to sustain something against BAM. I'm not liking
- 10:37Speaker 1: the way this starts out.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Hutton. Let me first say that being this annoyed, irritated,
- 10:45Speaker 2: angry at a 5-1 Tennessee football team really harkens back
- 10:49Speaker 2: to my youth. So I will say that's a positive,
- 10:52Speaker 2: that I'm this mad and this upset watching Tennessee play.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And they're 5-1. They're exactly where every Tennessee fan wanted
- 10:59Speaker 2: them to be and where they needed to be to
- 11:01Speaker 2: have any shot to be relevant in November. So they
- 11:05Speaker 2: put themselves into the position to do that at 5-1.
- 11:08Speaker 2: How they've gone about it to me is just staggering.
- 11:12Speaker 2: When you look at this team, I can't imagine Josh
- 11:18Speaker 2: Heupel in 2021, 2022 coaching the way that he is
- 11:21Speaker 2: right now. Okay. Now there's two sides of this coin.
- 11:24Speaker 2: One would say, Hey, he's shown the ability to evolve
- 11:27Speaker 2: and change. He's a guy who, yes, he's been all
- 11:30Speaker 2: about offense in the past, but he's just not trying
- 11:32Speaker 2: to screw it up for a great defense. We saw
- 11:34Speaker 2: this a lot in 2024 with conservative play calling and,
- 11:37Speaker 2: conservative decisions in all of this. But I watch Josh Heupel,
- 11:41Speaker 2: and I see a guy that is way too conservative.
- 11:45Speaker 2: He's not the same put-your-foot-in-your-cleats-on-their-throat-and-go-for-the-kill. You've got nothing to lose
- 11:52Speaker 2: type of guy. The timing of what he is. I
- 11:55Speaker 2: got to watch this morning, you talking about it, Hut,
- 11:58Speaker 2: with Lutz, what Will Stein is right now. That's what
- 12:01Speaker 2: Heupel was in year one and year two. He was
- 12:03Speaker 2: a guy who was going to roll the dice. He
- 12:05Speaker 2: was going to go for it. Josh Heupel ain't kicking
- 12:07Speaker 2: a 51-yard field goal on fourth and two on that
- 12:10Speaker 2: one drive that didn't even come close.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Agreed.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Josh Heupel is doing things to go ahead and put
- 12:15Speaker 2: the game away. So, look, I think with some of
- 12:19Speaker 2: the rule changes that allow for substitutions that slow the
- 12:23Speaker 2: game down a bit in terms of how fast you
- 12:26Speaker 2: can play, now they're not allowing you to just go
- 12:29Speaker 2: at a hyperspace at times if the defense wants to sub.
- 12:32Speaker 2: There's been some adjustments to the game and how it's
- 12:34Speaker 2: played with that. I think that he has taken that
- 12:37Speaker 2: and a really good defense and turned it into something
- 12:40Speaker 2: that Tennessee is not offensively. And it really does look
- 12:43Speaker 2: like a square peg round hole type of thing.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Now.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I was going to set up this week, um, which is,
- 12:51Speaker 1: which is interesting because I felt solid. I was solid
- 12:54Speaker 1: about this going into last week. Um, now I thought
- 12:59Speaker 1: they would cover late against Arkansas. Um, But with Bama
- 13:03Speaker 1: coming up and knowing that they had Georgia, they come
- 13:07Speaker 1: into the game kneeling. I like Tennessee's chances in a
- 13:13Speaker 1: close-tight game. Bama could win, but I also like Tennessee's
- 13:17Speaker 1: competitive aspect there.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Now I don't. It's Keelan Russell. He comes out of that.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Game against Georgia where they don't get the chance to
- 13:27Speaker 1: get the ball in his hands because of undisciplined play.
- 13:31Speaker 1: from a player that had no business taking that shot
- 13:34Speaker 1: and losing the game. But it's about the quarterback, and
- 13:38Speaker 1: they've got a dude. And Tennessee, they can't trust.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Their guys yet. Yeah, it's a very different feeling about
- 13:49Speaker 2: these two teams. And we're going to get into predictions
- 13:51Speaker 2: for the Alabama game. We've got all week to talk
- 13:53Speaker 2: about Alabama and Tennessee.
- 13:55Speaker 1: But it's the quarterback vibe that's just– I don't know,
- 13:58Speaker 1: it just– Arkansas changed my perspective a little bit.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and yes, totally. And we're going to be in
- 14:04Speaker 2: Knoxville this weekend, so we're going to have a lot
- 14:06Speaker 2: of good coverage from the next round live, guys, also. Look,
- 14:09Speaker 2: I really like Alabama in this game based on what
- 14:10Speaker 2: I've seen from both teams, but we'll get into that.
- 14:13Speaker 2: But if I told you, Hutton, coming out of this game,
- 14:15Speaker 2: and I really, with some time to reflect, when I'm
- 14:17Speaker 2: watching the game unfold, I'm thinking– This offense is a disaster.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Josh Heupel has lost his balls. They can't do anything right.
- 14:25Speaker 2: It's a team that doesn't play the right– the stupid penalties.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I mean, you open the second half with a false
- 14:31Speaker 2: start penalty, a procedural penalty when you get the ball.
- 14:34Speaker 2: After what happened– let me give you two things here. One,
- 14:38Speaker 2: my biggest critique of Josh Heupel over the course of
- 14:40Speaker 2: this game in one moment. And then two, what I
- 14:43Speaker 2: really think about George McIntyre after this game. So Josh
- 14:46Speaker 2: Hypen right before the half. You've played the entire half conservatively.
- 14:49Speaker 2: You're up 7-0. Your defense is playing lights out. Xavier
- 14:52Speaker 2: Gilliam blows up their only drive on a one-man solo
- 14:56Speaker 2: mission looking like John Rambo in First Blood Part II
- 14:59Speaker 2: in the jungle where he gets the sack, forces the fumble,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and recovers the fumble all in one. And then Arkansas
- 15:05Speaker 2: does nothing on offense the rest of the half. You're
- 15:08Speaker 2: at the 19-yard line. It's second and whatever. There's 12
- 15:11Speaker 2: seconds left in the half. Run the football. This is
- 15:13Speaker 2: where you can be conservative. That's what you do. Run
- 15:15Speaker 2: the football to the middle of the field. Kick a
- 15:16Speaker 2: chip shot with three seconds left on the clock. Use
- 15:19Speaker 2: your one timeout.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Go up two scores. You get the ball.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Tennessee fans feel so different if it's 10-0 at halftime
- 15:25Speaker 2: the way Arkansas was playing offense. That game completely changes. Instead,
- 15:29Speaker 2: you're running RPO in that moment. Let's say on that
- 15:32Speaker 2: fumble where he goes back and hits Bishop. He's going
- 15:34Speaker 2: to hit a slant for five yards. What good does
- 15:37Speaker 2: that do you? The juice was not worth the squeeze
- 15:39Speaker 2: in that moment. Continue to play conservative. Kick a field
- 15:42Speaker 2: goal and go up two scores. Now, also, if I
- 15:44Speaker 2: told you that George McIntyre was going to go 18
- 15:47Speaker 2: for 27 with 247 yards, a touchdown, and he was
- 15:51Speaker 2: going to have four drops, he could have had a
- 15:55Speaker 2: gigantic day. If Braylon Staley has his head in the
- 15:58Speaker 2: game and doesn't step out of bounds for no reason,
- 16:01Speaker 2: that's a 50-yard game. If Braylon Staley catches the 12-14
- 16:04Speaker 2: yard gain on third down, that was right in his
- 16:07Speaker 2: lap that he dropped. That's another big gain where they
- 16:09Speaker 2: continue a drive, and on that field goal, they kick
- 16:11Speaker 2: the field goal to go down 14-10 at that point
- 16:14Speaker 2: in the third quarter. Look, the one interception was bad.
- 16:17Speaker 2: He's staring down his guy, gave the safety a chance
- 16:19Speaker 2: to come over and play center field, pick it off.
- 16:21Speaker 2: The other one, he gets hit. I don't know what
- 16:23Speaker 2: the hell's happening on the Deshaun Bishop play. where he fumbles, honestly.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I don't know whose fault it is or what's going on.
- 16:28Speaker 2: That was a bad play call from Josh Heupel. I
- 16:30Speaker 2: thought George McIntyre did okay. He made some really good throws.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I think maybe the best throw of the day was
- 16:36Speaker 2: dropped by Trent Thomas, where he's getting pressure and throws
- 16:39Speaker 2: it deep over the middle, and it's right in his lap,
- 16:41Speaker 2: and he drops it as he goes to the ground. Look,
- 16:44Speaker 2: I don't think that he's going to be some huge
- 16:47Speaker 2: playmaker that's going to go out and light up the
- 16:49Speaker 2: scoreboard against Alabama or LSU. or any good team on
- 16:52Speaker 2: Tennessee's schedule remaining Hutton. But I thought that really looking
- 16:56Speaker 2: back at it, he did pretty well for a first start.
- 16:59Speaker 2: But you've got to take care of the football better.
- 17:01Speaker 2: That's one thing Faison Brandon did do, was not throw interceptions.
- 17:05Speaker 2: That's good perspective.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Last week we were saying this is a good spot
- 17:08Speaker 1: for him to make his first road start in the SEC.
- 17:11Speaker 2: It ended up being that way. I don't know.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I'm going through the vibe that Heupel's giving me based
- 17:17Speaker 1: on the way he called that game. And he did
- 17:19Speaker 1: what he needed to do. They come back with a win. But, man,
- 17:23Speaker 1: here comes Bama.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Vanderbilt.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I don't think Vanderbilt is a bad football team. But, man,
- 17:32Speaker 1: they just cannot meet expectations, even in a game at
- 17:40Speaker 1: home where you've got Ole Miss coming off a bye week.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And not only did they win, they boat raced them.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Dialed up the 1-800-ASS-WIP. and 45-7 at halftime. I mean,
- 17:51Speaker 1: this felt like old Vandy, like a few years ago Vandy,
- 17:54Speaker 1: instead of the current Vanderbilt that has a little swag,
- 17:58Speaker 1: can compete. It's not like they're undersized. They look the part,
- 18:03Speaker 1: but Chad, they don't play the part.
- 18:06Speaker 2: No, they look like, to me, I watch Arkansas and
- 18:11Speaker 2: Vandy right now, and I think it's a pretty clear
- 18:13Speaker 2: separation of the two worst teams in the conference. Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Based on play. And they get to go head-to-head this week,
- 18:19Speaker 2: by the way. Arkansas and Vandy. I mean, that looks
- 18:21Speaker 2: like a battle for last place in this conference. I
- 18:24Speaker 2: think Vandy's better than Arkansas, and I think they're going
- 18:26Speaker 2: to beat Arkansas. But that was a miserable performance. That
- 18:31Speaker 2: was awful. 42-3 at halftime? That's awful. And I'm watching
- 18:35Speaker 2: the game here and there, and I'm checking back in.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I'm thinking, is this score correct with what they've done?
- 18:40Speaker 2: You got Blaise Berlowitz's mom on Broadway getting caught on
- 18:44Speaker 2: Diego Pavia's live stream late the night before the game
- 18:47Speaker 2: talking about clowns running the program also. What is going
- 18:50Speaker 2: on with Vandy quarterback's mothers being caught up in the spotlight?
- 18:55Speaker 2: A generational run for mothers of quarterbacks at Vandy from
- 18:59Speaker 2: what we've seen with Pavia.
- 19:00Speaker 1: If you need to find a mother who will gain attention,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you go to Diego for that, clearly.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and Diego live streaming on Broadway. I mean,
- 19:09Speaker 2: it's just, look, I don't... I know. We got good
- 19:12Speaker 2: vibes and bad vibes. We're going to need to do
- 19:14Speaker 2: a vibe check-in in college football this week, and I'll
- 19:16Speaker 2: give a top five and bottom five. I'm not saying
- 19:18Speaker 2: Vandy's bottom five vibes right now, but the vibes are
- 19:22Speaker 2: weird at Vandy. You got a five-star quarterback who does
- 19:26Speaker 2: physically look the part, and man, can that guy throw
- 19:28Speaker 2: the football when he's on. He's got some drops in
- 19:31Speaker 2: this game. He's not great throughout either, much like the
- 19:34Speaker 2: whole Vandy team, but Now you've got Vandy fans texting
- 19:37Speaker 2: me like, is this guy going to stay for this?
- 19:40Speaker 2: I mean, did he sign up for this, or did
- 19:42Speaker 2: he think Vandy was going to carry that 10-2 right
- 19:44Speaker 2: on and continue to compete in the SEC? And is
- 19:47Speaker 2: this someone who's going to stick around after this season?
- 19:50Speaker 2: my contention is that Vandy is going to go pay
- 19:52Speaker 2: up for transfers or big big time recruits for him
- 19:56Speaker 2: to throw the ball to that receiver and that's how
- 19:59Speaker 2: they're going to come they're going to have a dude
- 20:00Speaker 2: Curtis moving forward they've got to go do that I
- 20:02Speaker 2: think that they're going to but there's just a lot
- 20:05Speaker 2: of questions and there's more questions and answers right now
- 20:07Speaker 2: at Vanderbilt yeah I think they're a pretty miserable SEC
- 20:10Speaker 2: team at this point. Yeah, they are.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Hey, normally those five-star quarterbacks played at a school where
- 20:16Speaker 1: there are other five-star offensive players and weapons that they
- 20:18Speaker 1: pull in.
- 20:19Speaker 2: One or two.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Or they're recruiting on some all-star roster or something. I'll
- 20:24Speaker 1: be interested to see who he's connecting with. And then,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I guess, Diego as well, who played a huge factor
- 20:30Speaker 1: in trying to recruit him to Vanderbilt. Let's get into Elko.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Speaking of bad vibes... Um, here's Mike Elko post game, um,
- 20:42Speaker 1: being stupid.
- 20:45Speaker 2: The team right now.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah. Again, there's a difference to me between the fan
- 20:50Speaker 5: base and social media. And so, um, there's a one
- 20:54Speaker 5: group that I really don't care much about, you know,
- 20:56Speaker 5: Billy cesspool can go be Billy cesspool. Um, our fan
- 21:00Speaker 5: base stay with us, be behind us. We're going to
- 21:03Speaker 5: build something that's, We told you we were going to build.
- 21:07Speaker 5: We're in a really bad spot right now, but we'll
- 21:08Speaker 5: work our way out of it.
- 21:12Speaker 1: That is your fan base. And our fan base, stick
- 21:14Speaker 1: with us. That is Tex-Ax. That's a massive chunk of
- 21:19Speaker 1: your fans. And you want to talk about loyal fan base.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's Texas A & M. But why say that?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Why go after the... What are you talking about?
- 21:30Speaker 3: Win games.
- 21:32Speaker 2: It's just.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It's that simple. It doesn't start with the fans. Man,
- 21:38Speaker 1: what a stupid move. I mean, you're not going to
- 21:40Speaker 1: win that battle. But an unforced error.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Just a huge unforced error by Mike Elko. And
- 21:47Speaker 2: Billy Sesspool, by the way, and I've sent this to Billy,
- 21:51Speaker 2: you've got to monetize this thing. I will buy a
- 21:55Speaker 2: Texags.com Billy Sesspool t-shirt and be a part of Billy
- 21:59Speaker 2: Sesspool and wear that to SEC Media Days every year
- 22:02Speaker 2: when we hang out with Billy. He's got to find
- 22:05Speaker 2: some way to monetize the Billy Sespel angle of this.
- 22:07Speaker 2: That fan base, like you want to talk about Volchwetter
- 22:11Speaker 2: or Alabama fans being ungrateful for success or Kentucky and
- 22:16Speaker 2: Arkansas fans expect too much from their football programs or
- 22:19Speaker 2: all those negative connotations you might want to put with
- 22:22Speaker 2: any fan base across the SEC, right, of being overly critical,
- 22:26Speaker 2: overly emotional. They don't keep their powder dry, right? That's
- 22:30Speaker 2: what you'd say about most every SEC fan base. That
- 22:33Speaker 2: A & M fan base is the definition of keeping
- 22:35Speaker 2: your powder dry.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 2: They are calm. They are patient. Yes. They defend their
- 22:40Speaker 2: program and their guys and their coaches typically longer than
- 22:44Speaker 2: other SEC fan bases. Well, Billy would be the first
- 22:46Speaker 2: to tell you this. To go after Billy Lucci and TechSax.com,
- 22:50Speaker 2: which you're right, Hutton, huge supporters of that program.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Massive.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And they're helping raise NIL money for your program. And
- 22:56Speaker 2: you're going to attack Billy and the cesspool of TechSax?
- 23:01Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Give me a break because a few people are disappointed,
- 23:06Speaker 2: which rightfully so, based on expectations this year, and the
- 23:09Speaker 2: job that you and your staff have done with this team.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I mean, look, this is what you have to eliminate
- 23:16Speaker 2: if you're an SEC program and you're struggling, right? It's
- 23:19Speaker 2: one thing to struggle. Everybody's going to have a down year.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Teams are going to take steps back. It truly is
- 23:24Speaker 2: a week-to-week and a year-to-year operation in the SEC. And
- 23:27Speaker 2: I want to hit on this with Kentucky, too, and
- 23:28Speaker 2: Will Stein and your role. Oh, yeah.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And they're already asking Elko about, you know, Reed, Marcel Reed.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And he's like, I don't think the backup gives us
- 23:38Speaker 1: a chance or it's not the move to make.
- 23:41Speaker 2: That's a bad spot.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I had them pushing for a playoff spot whenever we
- 23:46Speaker 1: joined Tex-Ags down at SEC Media Days. I liked the
- 23:49Speaker 1: way that team was built. I was dead wrong. And
- 23:53Speaker 1: I still like Marcel Reed. But last year was... Last
- 23:59Speaker 1: year was different. We saw improvement. He was adding things
- 24:01Speaker 1: to his overall skill set. And, man, it's just been
- 24:07Speaker 1: inconsistency and bad football play.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Bad interceptions. It's really bad. It's really bad, Hutton. And
- 24:12Speaker 2: I had them in the playoffs, so like you, I
- 24:14Speaker 2: was dead wrong about this A & M football team.
- 24:17Speaker 2: But Mike Yelko, man, you've got to appreciate the place
- 24:19Speaker 2: you're at and understand that if you think– this is
- 24:22Speaker 2: like the people who call– Bomani Jones, everybody called the
- 24:25Speaker 2: Titans media group– Hostiles. This viper's pit of dogged reporters
- 24:30Speaker 2: that are going to be all over them. That A &
- 24:32Speaker 2: M fan base is as friendly, as kind, as welcoming
- 24:36Speaker 2: as any fan base in the SEC. And they are
- 24:39Speaker 2: not quick to judge and quick to throw someone out
- 24:42Speaker 2: like a lot of other fan bases would be. Quite frankly, the–
- 24:47Speaker 2: The panic meter with other fan bases in the SEC
- 24:50Speaker 2: based off preseason expectations, the way A & M has looked,
- 24:52Speaker 2: would be far higher at Tennessee, at Florida, at LSU,
- 24:57Speaker 2: at you name a bunch of programs, you know, typical
- 25:00Speaker 2: blue blood in the past programs that would be ready
- 25:03Speaker 2: to fire the coach. I don't get that sense with
- 25:06Speaker 2: A & M. They're disappointed. Yes, they should be. They're
- 25:08Speaker 2: fan base. But they're not ready to fire Elko. It
- 25:11Speaker 2: was just a completely unforced error by him. All right. So,
- 25:14Speaker 2: Will Stein.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, they are last year's Oklahoma, right? We were
- 25:21Speaker 1: looking at Mississippi State. It turns out to be Kentucky. Again,
- 25:26Speaker 1: congratulations Lutz, who was manning the storm and got through
- 25:31Speaker 1: all the wind. What a just perfect play call and
- 25:36Speaker 1: well executed in the moment by their quarterback.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Legit, man. This is a fun team to watch. I'm
- 25:44Speaker 2: surprised it's Kentucky. Yeah, I want Josh Heupel to return
- 25:49Speaker 2: to more of this with what we're seeing with Will Stein.
- 25:52Speaker 2: This guy is playing with house money. He knows it.
- 25:54Speaker 2: He is instilling a confidence and a swagger into his guys.
- 25:58Speaker 2: He is showing belief in them. You know, he's not
- 26:01Speaker 2: kicking 50-plus-yard field goals on fourth and two. I mean,
- 26:05Speaker 2: he is immediately putting that two fingers in the air
- 26:07Speaker 2: when they score. Back-to-back weeks, first team ever in football
- 26:10Speaker 2: history to win back-to-back weeks by one point in overtime.
- 26:14Speaker 2: By going for two and winning it at South Carolina
- 26:16Speaker 2: and then rolling the dice the same way again against LSU,
- 26:19Speaker 2: running it back, doing it again. Great play calls in
- 26:22Speaker 2: both of them. Got schemed open a guy wide open
- 26:25Speaker 2: at South Carolina. And then the parting of the Red
- 26:27Speaker 2: Sea from LSU's defense on Kenny Minchie's quarterback draw right
- 26:30Speaker 2: at the middle for the win. I'm super impressed with
- 26:32Speaker 2: this guy. I think that we can throw out this hole.
- 26:36Speaker 2: It takes three or four years to build a program
- 26:38Speaker 2: mantra in college football. We've seen it with Will Stein.
- 26:42Speaker 2: We saw it with Kurt Cignetti. We've seen it now.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Bob Chesney at UCLA, another great example. Year one, the
- 26:48Speaker 2: team's undefeated. They just beat Oregon, granted, with a terrible
- 26:51Speaker 2: backup quarterback in Dylan Raiola. My God, that guy's not good.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Wasn't good in Nebraska. Nebraska, huge upgrade, by the way,
- 26:57Speaker 2: at quarterback with what they got as opposed to Dylan Raiola.
- 27:01Speaker 2: But I'm watching this, and I'm also thinking there's a
- 27:04Speaker 2: lot of criticism about, let's say, Josh Heupel in year six.
- 27:06Speaker 2: How in year six? Year six, are you still doing this?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Year six, you've got a young quarterback. Year six. And
- 27:11Speaker 2: I'm thinking, guys, every year is totally different. You can
- 27:15Speaker 2: throw out this, you should be better in year eight
- 27:17Speaker 2: as opposed to year one. You can also just throw
- 27:20Speaker 2: out the, it's going to take until year three or four.
- 27:22Speaker 2: This is not a steady progression type system in college football.
- 27:26Speaker 2: It is, here's what you are in 2024. Oh, now
- 27:29Speaker 2: you're something totally different in 25. Now you're totally different
- 27:32Speaker 2: in 26. There's no building of anything. It is just
- 27:35Speaker 2: complete snapshots for one season only. You can't go to
- 27:39Speaker 2: the transfer portal mid-season. And add things that you need
- 27:42Speaker 2: or get rid of guys that you don't want, right?
- 27:44Speaker 2: So it's– I just really think that we're in an
- 27:46Speaker 2: era now. And, again, credit to Will Stein. I'm not
- 27:48Speaker 2: trying to take away from what he's done in year one.
- 27:50Speaker 2: I just think it's been proven now you can be
- 27:53Speaker 2: gangbusters in year one or you can be terrible in
- 27:56Speaker 2: year one. And it doesn't affect year two. Will Stein
- 27:59Speaker 2: at Kentucky could take a huge step back in year two,
- 28:02Speaker 2: and it wouldn't shock me. Now, they could also be
- 28:05Speaker 2: in the college football playoff in year two, and it
- 28:07Speaker 2: wouldn't shock me right now. That's just– how it's not
- 28:10Speaker 2: even cyclical. It is a year-to-year seesaw at times of
- 28:15Speaker 2: emotion and what teams are and what they present each year.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I mean, Tennessee, if Joey Aguilar gets the injunction from
- 28:21Speaker 2: the judge in East Tennessee and he's quarterback on this
- 28:24Speaker 2: team with that year of experience, Tennessee might be the
- 28:28Speaker 2: best team in college football with Joey Aguilar at quarterback
- 28:31Speaker 2: in this defense. He had a terrible defense a year ago,
- 28:33Speaker 2: and they were setting records on offense, right? Like, it's just, again...
- 28:37Speaker 2: It is year to year with every team in college football.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Well, I mean, think about Oregon right now. Speaking of
- 28:45Speaker 1: some weird field goal attempts and play calls in general,
- 28:50Speaker 1: Dan Landy's going through it right now. Odd to see
- 28:53Speaker 1: them with two losses the way they have it. Ohio State,
- 28:56Speaker 1: they are able to take care of business. Texas loses.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Arch Manning, not living up to it.
- 29:03Speaker 2: He's struggling.
- 29:04Speaker 1: He's not looking good. I was thinking about it the
- 29:06Speaker 1: entire time watching that game. This dude is not the
- 29:07Speaker 1: number one pick. But he's not playing like the number
- 29:12Speaker 1: one overall pick in any sense of that. Neither is
- 29:16Speaker 1: Cam Ward. And, Chad, I want your take on this.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Not only.
- 29:22Speaker 1: You had a sense. Whenever you picked the Titans, I
- 29:26Speaker 1: was surprised. And I was like, man, he's going to
- 29:28Speaker 1: nail this. He's going to get it right. And not
- 29:30Speaker 1: only did they just... I mean, totally not show up.
- 29:36Speaker 1: They were handled by an open.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I want to get your take on it. Awful.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I mean, they're already preparing for the offseason. Sala said
- 29:50Speaker 1: that they're evaluating over the next one. This is their
- 29:54Speaker 1: floor next to a hot new wind throw. Honey with
- 29:57Speaker 1: row presented by hard rock bets, hard rock dot bet
- 30:01Speaker 1: slash clay. It's where you go for new customers, bet $ 5,
- 30:04Speaker 1: get up to $ 500 in no sweat bets.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And it's where you go. App is fantastic. Easy to use,
- 30:11Speaker 2: easy to find your games.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Uh, it's been the easiest interface that I've dealt with, uh,
- 30:16Speaker 1: in this and Chad, it is, uh, it's available in Florida. It's, it's, you're,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you're able to use it down there. Hard rock, uh,
- 30:24Speaker 1: Florida's only legal sports book. And, uh, You may not
- 30:28Speaker 1: know the Hard Rock. You know the Hard Rock. You
- 30:29Speaker 1: may not know the Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook app. Available
- 30:32Speaker 1: also in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee,
- 30:37Speaker 1: and Virginia.
- 30:38Speaker 2: And I've got family members that are downloading the app
- 30:41Speaker 2: right now. Good. Because we're in Florida, and they're not
- 30:43Speaker 2: using anything else. And they are loving the interface. They're
- 30:46Speaker 2: loving Hard Rock Bet and what they're seeing with that.
- 30:49Speaker 2: They're even playing. You can see Clay Travis's blood bank
- 30:52Speaker 2: guarantee each week at the front of the site. and
- 30:55Speaker 2: go and just click on Clay's picture, and you can
- 30:57Speaker 2: play that also. You can bet $ 5, get up to
- 30:59Speaker 2: $ 500 in no-sweat bets. My family member is taking advantage
- 31:02Speaker 2: of that in the state of Florida right now. And
- 31:04Speaker 2: for new customers, 10 daily, $ 50 no-sweat bets. That's where
- 31:08Speaker 2: you need to go. Hardrock.bet slash Clay. That's Hardrock.bet backslash Clay.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Make sure you go there. Take advantage of those daily promos,
- 31:17Speaker 2: and let's have some fun with Hardrock Bet. Chad, after
- 31:20Speaker 2: the field goal, the Tennessee Titans, they opened up the game.
- 31:23Speaker 2: It was very fun.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Similar to the Jets game, where they go down and
- 31:27Speaker 1: they do okay, and then they just, you know, they
- 31:31Speaker 1: just die. The Titans after that field goal, their longest drive,
- 31:35Speaker 1: gained 27 yards. That is the definition of abysmal. And
- 31:44Speaker 1: they're not getting better. This is a situation where it
- 31:48Speaker 1: is now on a three, there's three months, as of yesterday,
- 31:51Speaker 1: exactly three months left in the season And here they
- 31:54Speaker 1: are on another death march going into week six. It
- 31:57Speaker 1: was Callahan fired going into year two in week six,
- 32:00Speaker 1: after week six. Before Halloween, Robert Sala is saying this
- 32:05Speaker 1: to his locker room.
- 32:07Speaker 6: You know, like I told the locker room after the
- 32:09Speaker 6: game just now, it's these next... 12 games or whatever
- 32:13Speaker 6: we have is going to define the people that we're
- 32:15Speaker 6: going to ride with moving on to the next year.
- 32:18Speaker 6: Not that we're cashing out, but just to be clear.
- 32:21Speaker 6: But these next 12 games are going to identify who's
- 32:23Speaker 6: going to be here when we get this thing turned around.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I mean, I'll be honest.
- 32:27Speaker 1: These five games have identified turnover the roster again by 50%.
- 32:32Speaker 1: They're 0 for their last 11 in the division. They
- 32:35Speaker 1: have not won a home game in the AFC South
- 32:38Speaker 1: since January 7, 2024. Ryan Tannehill, Derek Henry, and Mike
- 32:42Speaker 1: Vrabel were on that sideline. It's been a while. And
- 32:46Speaker 1: six years ago, Chad, Ryan Tannehill and that offense, they
- 32:49Speaker 1: put up over 600 yards of total.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Offense six years ago this week.
- 32:54Speaker 1: And this offense can't even do anything until garbage time
- 32:59Speaker 1: where they're kind of hiding really how bad this actually is.
- 33:01Speaker 1: The 0 for teams, the teams that have gone winless,
- 33:05Speaker 1: were better at this point in the season than Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 1: better at this point in the season offensively than what
- 33:12Speaker 1: the Titans are doing.
- 33:13Speaker 2: This is going really basement level. This is their floor, Chad. Well,
- 33:18Speaker 2: are we so sure that the next 11 games, 12
- 33:22Speaker 2: games left in the season also won't determine whether or
- 33:25Speaker 2: not Robert Sala and his staff are back? Not just
- 33:28Speaker 2: him talking about what players put on the film and
- 33:29Speaker 2: who plays well and who does what. I'm thinking, are
- 33:32Speaker 2: you going to be the one that decides who's on
- 33:33Speaker 2: the field? Because I don't think anything. I mean, I
- 33:37Speaker 2: look at Amy Adams-Strunk. And her reaction to losses typically
- 33:40Speaker 2: against the Texans, and I'm thinking everything's in play right now.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Is there going to be a change with Burke Nihill
- 33:47Speaker 2: at some point this season or after the season? Is
- 33:49Speaker 2: there going to be a change at head coach? Is
- 33:51Speaker 2: there going to be a change at general manager? I mean,
- 33:53Speaker 2: I'm not willing to throw any possibility with this team
- 33:57Speaker 2: and the ineptitude of ownership and leadership within that organization
- 34:01Speaker 2: since really 2020, I would say, since the last time
- 34:04Speaker 2: they were truly relevant, right, since COVID-19. That's when Burke
- 34:08Speaker 2: became president. Yeah, there you go. And maybe circle that
- 34:12Speaker 2: as a possibility, as some of the things that have
- 34:15Speaker 2: gone on.
- 34:15Speaker 1: And I'm glad you brought up Amy. I pulled some
- 34:19Speaker 1: quotes from her when they fired people. She used to
- 34:21Speaker 1: be quoted in the press release. Now it's the last one,
- 34:24Speaker 1: I believe it was Brinker. And then it's Burke. I'll
- 34:29Speaker 1: get to that in a moment, because what she says
- 34:30Speaker 1: in statements are exactly what you're talking about. Like, this
- 34:34Speaker 1: is pathetic. It's uncalled for. I will directly read what
- 34:38Speaker 1: she said. But what we know is maybe change is
- 34:41Speaker 1: going to happen. But change is not going to happen
- 34:43Speaker 1: at quarterback. Here's Robert Sala saying it's Cam Ward for
- 34:45Speaker 1: the rest of the season.
- 34:48Speaker 2: After this performance.
- 34:49Speaker 4: You guys are going to be dead last in points
- 34:51Speaker 4: per game, dead last in yards per game.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Is there a thought to making a change, whether it's
- 34:56Speaker 2: Bench or Cam Ward, changing something to develop some kind
- 34:59Speaker 2: of spark?
- 35:00Speaker 5: No.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Not with Cam.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Why not?
- 35:02Speaker 2: Why not?
- 35:04Speaker 6: Cam's our starting quarterback. We're going to give him every
- 35:06Speaker 6: opportunity to be successful this year. And we're going to
- 35:11Speaker 6: continue working with him, grinding with him, and.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Trying to help him get better.
- 35:16Speaker 2: That's a mandate from ownership to me. The look in
- 35:20Speaker 2: his eyes when he's being asked that question, just having
- 35:21Speaker 2: to repeat that, is I signed up for this. I
- 35:25Speaker 2: agreed to this to take the job. I wanted a
- 35:27Speaker 2: second opportunity to be a head coach after I failed.
- 35:30Speaker 2: with the New York Jets, they're willing to give me
- 35:32Speaker 2: this chance. And if I'm willing to say, yeah, sure,
- 35:34Speaker 2: we'll ride with the number one overall pick for year
- 35:36Speaker 2: two and not bench him, regardless of how bad it gets.
- 35:39Speaker 2: I think that he agreed to that when he took
- 35:41Speaker 2: the job. And I think that's a guy who's saying,
- 35:43Speaker 2: even if I wanted to go back on what I
- 35:45Speaker 2: said and remove him to give us a chance to
- 35:48Speaker 2: actually win a football game in this league with Mitch Trubisky,
- 35:51Speaker 2: which Mitch Trubisky would absolutely give them a better chance
- 35:53Speaker 2: to win a football game. There's no doubt about it.
- 35:55Speaker 2: What are the Cam Ward defenders today, by the way?
- 35:58Speaker 2: Where are the Cam Ward defenders today? all in my
- 36:00Speaker 2: timeline about him and this team and how he's getting
- 36:04Speaker 2: better and improvement and everything else. They've really gone quiet
- 36:07Speaker 2: on all of this. But again, Hutton, I think it's
- 36:09Speaker 2: a guy who doesn't have that decision to make. It's
- 36:11Speaker 2: out of his hands.
- 36:12Speaker 3: This is an.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Ownership decision to give him every game of this season
- 36:15Speaker 2: and then reevaluate moving into the new stadium. If they're
- 36:18Speaker 2: picking number one overall, I think Arch Manning has looked
- 36:21Speaker 2: quite bad this year as Texas quarterback. I'm willing to
- 36:24Speaker 2: say that halfway through the year right now. He's been underwhelming.
- 36:27Speaker 2: He's been a disappointment. this organization would draft him number
- 36:31Speaker 2: one overall for the marketing purposes of it. I truly
- 36:35Speaker 2: believe that with them. Even given the football not being
- 36:38Speaker 2: good enough with Arch Manning, they wouldn't go draft Jeremiah Smith,
- 36:41Speaker 2: but they should draft number one overall after they go
- 36:43Speaker 2: 0-17 and then bring in a veteran quarterback and find
- 36:46Speaker 2: the quarterback at some other time when you can get
- 36:49Speaker 2: it there. They're going to go draft an Arch Manning
- 36:51Speaker 2: because they think they can market the new stadium and
- 36:53Speaker 2: the organization better if they do that. How bad has
- 36:56Speaker 2: it been for the Titans this year? And I sent
- 36:58Speaker 2: you guys this from Joey Garrison. Yeah. In five weeks
- 37:01Speaker 2: of football, the Titans still haven't reached the 59 points
- 37:03Speaker 2: the Bears scored in week one. Bears 59, Titans 58.
- 37:08Speaker 2: That's 20 quarters versus four quarters. The Titans might have
- 37:11Speaker 2: one of the worst offenses in NFL history, 11.6 points
- 37:15Speaker 2: per game. And there really is no reason to think
- 37:18Speaker 2: it's going to get better. That from Joey Garrison.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Okay, so.
- 37:23Speaker 1: If Sala's going to get fired, I think it'll be
- 37:25Speaker 1: next year. So he goes into next year, year two.
- 37:28Speaker 1: The consistent year is year two. If anyone's on the
- 37:31Speaker 1: hot seat right now, of course it's Burke now. But
- 37:34Speaker 1: it could also be Borghese because it's year two. I
- 37:37Speaker 1: say that because, here's Amy Adam Strzok when she fired Vrabel.
- 37:42Speaker 1: I will never shy away from acknowledging this. that I
- 37:44Speaker 1: have unapologetically high expectations for this football team and every
- 37:48Speaker 1: aspect of this organization. Our vision is not simply to
- 37:50Speaker 1: produce more wins and losses. It's to regularly compete for championships.
- 37:54Speaker 1: While this season was disappointing, I see early signs of
- 37:56Speaker 1: progress taking shape. And she goes on to talk about
- 37:59Speaker 1: the salary cap and all this. She talks about her
- 38:01Speaker 1: young quarterback, which was Will Levis. And then she says,
- 38:03Speaker 1: we will meet the moment. Robinson, since becoming controlling owner
- 38:08Speaker 1: in 2015, my goal has been to raise the standard
- 38:10Speaker 1: for what is expected in all facets of this organization.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I believe we have made significant progress both on and
- 38:16Speaker 1: off the field through investments of leadership, personnel, and new ideas.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I am proud of what we have accomplished in my.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Eight seasons of ownership, but I believe there is more
- 38:23Speaker 1: to be done and higher aspirations to be met.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Rand Carthaw in chat.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It's impossible to ignore that our football team hasn't improved
- 38:31Speaker 1: over the last two years. I'm deeply disappointed in our
- 38:34Speaker 1: poor win-loss record during this period, but my decision also
- 38:37Speaker 1: speaks to my concern about our long-term future should we
- 38:40Speaker 1: stay the course. I love this team more than you
- 38:43Speaker 1: could ever imagine. To our fans, we know this level
- 38:45Speaker 1: of performance isn't acceptable. We're humbled by your support as
- 38:49Speaker 1: we continue to work towards the ultimate goal and what
- 38:52Speaker 1: you expect and deserve.
- 38:53Speaker 2: And one more.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Brinker's statement on Brian Callahan. While we are committed to
- 38:57Speaker 1: a patient and strategic plan to build a sustainable winning,
- 39:01Speaker 1: opposite of Amy Armstrong, a patient and strategic plan, we
- 39:04Speaker 1: have not demonstrated sufficient growth. Our players, fans, and community
- 39:07Speaker 1: deserve a football team that achieves a standard we are
- 39:09Speaker 1: not currently meeting. We are committed to making the hard
- 39:12Speaker 1: decisions necessary to reach and maintain that standard. Where is
- 39:15Speaker 1: that standard right now? Where the coach is talking about
- 39:18Speaker 1: the next 12 games before he even tries to make
- 39:21Speaker 1: a change. The dude's 20-41 as a head coach. There
- 39:26Speaker 1: should be urgency, Chad. I don't see that. And I don't...
- 39:30Speaker 1: Maybe someone gets fired today. It'll be a Tuesday or
- 39:33Speaker 1: Wednesday when she does it. But it's mind-boggling to me
- 39:38Speaker 1: that this has been every single firing.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Except right now, where's that standard? The standard's not being met.
- 39:46Speaker 2: It's pathetic. It's the worst Titans team ever.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Other than maybe the 2015 Titans with Wizard Hunt, that
- 39:54Speaker 1: I can remember.
- 39:56Speaker 2: The bar is so low, they can't even get the
- 40:00Speaker 2: win total they had last year. I saw PK on
- 40:05Speaker 2: his video where he said, the answer to everybody's question
- 40:07Speaker 2: is yes. Is this the worst it's ever been? Yes.
- 40:10Speaker 2: And he went on and on. He's been there the
- 40:12Speaker 2: whole time. And he said, this is the worst it's
- 40:15Speaker 2: ever been. This is not immediacy bias. or recency bias.
- 40:21Speaker 2: This is the worst the Titans organization has ever been,
- 40:24Speaker 2: top to bottom. On-field production, quarterback situation, fan base apathy,
- 40:30Speaker 2: everything you could say. I mean, that stadium yesterday was horrendous.
- 40:32Speaker 2: And I don't blame anybody. I posted a photo of
- 40:35Speaker 2: the crowd three minutes before kickoff that Buck Rising had posted.
- 40:39Speaker 2: I don't blame anybody for not going, by the way.
- 40:41Speaker 2: This is not me getting on the Titans fan. It's
- 40:43Speaker 2: incredibly sad that your organization has produced this to the
- 40:47Speaker 2: level of, no one should go to those games. I
- 40:51Speaker 2: don't know why anyone would go, unless you're a visiting
- 40:54Speaker 2: fan that wants to watch your team win. I don't
- 40:56Speaker 2: know why anyone would go to a game. I made
- 40:58Speaker 2: the mistake of listening to Titans radio on my drive
- 40:59Speaker 2: down to the beach yesterday. And that opening, when they
- 41:03Speaker 2: go to whatever the pregame show is at 11 a.m.
- 41:06Speaker 2: with the standard never changes, compete, improve, or whatever. And
- 41:12Speaker 2: I'm thinking the standard never, The standard never changes. Let's
- 41:16Speaker 2: go back to the standard set in week one against
- 41:18Speaker 2: the New York Jets. Boy, they're right. That standard has
- 41:20Speaker 2: not changed. That's a team that continues to find silly
- 41:24Speaker 2: ways to get in their own way that looks ridiculous
- 41:28Speaker 2: at times. They become memes. Yes. Their offensive lineman not
- 41:32Speaker 2: blocking someone going right at their quarterback. Again, this is
- 41:38Speaker 2: not being emotional or being over the top or being anything.
- 41:42Speaker 2: This is a fact. that the organization has never been,
- 41:46Speaker 2: had worse leadership. It has never been more poorly run
- 41:50Speaker 2: than it is right now. And you brought up Ken Wisenhunt,
- 41:52Speaker 2: a great example of that guy didn't get along with anybody.
- 41:55Speaker 2: He was a jerk to everybody around that facility. He
- 41:58Speaker 2: didn't win football games, all of that. He was better
- 42:01Speaker 2: with Ken Wisenhunt. He did not want to be looked
- 42:03Speaker 2: in the eye. He didn't want to be looked in
- 42:06Speaker 2: the eye. Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 2: It was better with that guy. It was better with
- 42:10Speaker 2: that guy because of people around him too, that could
- 42:12Speaker 2: figure it out above him or get it right. Was
- 42:15Speaker 2: Steve Underwood there? Had he returned? Yeah, he, he was, yes,
- 42:20Speaker 2: he was there.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Um, that was just, cause that's when Amy came back
- 42:24Speaker 1: or took over and that was right after Tommy Smith.
- 42:29Speaker 1: So yes, he came back to help mentor Amy. Um, Man,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I said last night on Channel 5, it's being run
- 42:37Speaker 1: like a Google company. Like they have little nap rooms
- 42:41Speaker 1: in there. You know, like instead of football. The football
- 42:43Speaker 1: organization needs to get back to being a football organization.
- 42:48Speaker 1: But instead, they come out flat in week one. They
- 42:51Speaker 1: come out flat here. I mean, the combined score was 49-13.
- 42:56Speaker 1: 49-13 against the Jets.
- 43:03Speaker 2: And the Texans, a team that has a combined, what,
- 43:07Speaker 2: three wins right now? Two teams?
- 43:10Speaker 1: And yet you lost 49-13 in those games. This is
- 43:15Speaker 1: Brian Day. This is not first-year coaches in their new roles.
- 43:22Speaker 1: They're selling all this hope, and the time is now.
- 43:26Speaker 1: You're allowed to win in the month of September. But
- 43:29Speaker 1: just like Cam Ward does in the fourth quarter, they're
- 43:31Speaker 1: going to win games in December in garbage time and
- 43:34Speaker 1: go through the same paces again. It's the same exact thing.
- 43:38Speaker 1: And I don't blame fans one bit. I picked them
- 43:42Speaker 1: to win. And that was not me trolling or trying
- 43:45Speaker 1: to reverse that.
- 43:45Speaker 2: I know. You're genuine about it. I'm like, they're 0-4
- 43:49Speaker 2: and they're getting another 0-4 team in their house where
- 43:51Speaker 2: the head coach has had to take over play calling responsibility.
- 43:54Speaker 2: If not now, then never. And it's certainly not going
- 43:57Speaker 2: to be never. Never. This team isn't going 0-17, right?
- 44:00Speaker 2: That was my thought process. Cam Ward did look a
- 44:03Speaker 2: little bit better in the second half at times against
- 44:05Speaker 2: the Ravens. I'm thinking he's going to come out, he's
- 44:07Speaker 2: going to play good enough, and they're going to win
- 44:10Speaker 2: some 12-9 field goal fest, rugby scrum of a game,
- 44:14Speaker 2: and that's going to be their one of two wins
- 44:16Speaker 2: on the season when they go 2-15 was my thought.
- 44:20Speaker 2: They got destroyed in this football game. I mean, they
- 44:24Speaker 2: got just boa constrictor the entire second half of that
- 44:29Speaker 2: game by a Texans team who has been miserable, who
- 44:32Speaker 2: didn't even do anything special in that game to beat
- 44:34Speaker 2: you 26-3. Terrible. This from JT, who sends us this
- 44:38Speaker 2: from Jim Wyatt. Sala on Cam Ward remaining the starter.
- 44:41Speaker 2: It's a coaching staff decision, he said. Said Cam had
- 44:44Speaker 2: one of his better games versus the Ravens, and he
- 44:47Speaker 2: acknowledged Sunday's performance versus Texans was a step back.
- 44:50Speaker 3: There we go.
- 44:51Speaker 2: So you get to start the rest of the year, Cam.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Because you had a good second half against the Ravens
- 44:57Speaker 2: in a loss where the Ravens set their star quarterback
- 45:00Speaker 2: and played Tyler Huntley in order to give you a
- 45:04Speaker 2: chance to come back and you couldn't do that. So congrats.
- 45:07Speaker 2: That second half against the Ravens gets you the whole season.
- 45:09Speaker 1: He's basically Mike McCoy right now. Mike McCoy did this
- 45:12Speaker 1: last year. Play off the season. Just get us to
- 45:15Speaker 1: the offseason. And Callahan did this year one. And then
- 45:21Speaker 1: he was given six games after a pathetic year one. So,
- 45:25Speaker 1: Solon's going into the new stadium on the hot seat
- 45:27Speaker 1: if he's kept around. My Aunt Mitzi is in the
- 45:33Speaker 1: condo next to us right now behind us. Huge Titans fan.
- 45:35Speaker 2: And last night we're sitting around talking about the Titans
- 45:37Speaker 2: and that pathetic performance. And she says, who was the
- 45:41Speaker 2: coach last year, McCoy, that took over? He did a
- 45:44Speaker 2: pretty good job. You know, I feel like they could
- 45:46Speaker 2: have done a better job with him. And I'm thinking
- 45:48Speaker 2: the fact that I'm pausing right now to consider that
- 45:51Speaker 2: Mike McCoy may have been a better option just to
- 45:53Speaker 2: take over the full-time job after last season shows you
- 45:57Speaker 2: exactly how awful Robert Sala has been. How awful Brian
- 46:00Speaker 2: Dayball has been. How bad from Amy to Burke Nihill
- 46:04Speaker 2: to everyone in that organization has been on down. And
- 46:09Speaker 2: I honestly– it's starting to turn where I feel bad
- 46:11Speaker 2: for like Jeffrey Simmons and Cam Ward at times. When
- 46:14Speaker 2: they're like, hey, how are you not a loser? Well,
- 46:17Speaker 2: you know, I know that we've lost every game and
- 46:19Speaker 2: that we lose here. But, I mean, I just don't
- 46:21Speaker 2: feel like a loser because we have good practices. Or
- 46:25Speaker 2: if you were here during the week and saw how
- 46:26Speaker 2: we compete, and I'm thinking, I mean– Looks like one,
- 46:31Speaker 2: walks like one, smells like one. I mean, you are.
- 46:34Speaker 2: You are one. And that's what this organization is right now.
- 46:36Speaker 3: Losing.
- 46:37Speaker 2: They're losers.
- 46:38Speaker 1: This is the NFL where you win early. You win
- 46:42Speaker 1: in quarter two, three, and four of the season. And
- 46:45Speaker 1: you start to show consistency. There is zero consistency, which
- 46:49Speaker 1: means there's not improvement. You can have a game of improvement.
- 46:52Speaker 1: That doesn't matter. It's about the consistency, building, stacking, and
- 46:57Speaker 1: they do none of that. That's going back a few years.
- 47:01Speaker 1: A quick break. Coming up, credit to Stu.
- 47:04Speaker 2: We made what? Chad cashed in. Well done.
- 47:08Speaker 1: We'll tell you about the bet and also some props
- 47:12Speaker 1: that were big winners as well.
- 47:13Speaker 2: A hard rock bet here on Hutton and Withrow.
- 47:15Speaker 4: This year, the party's getting even bigger.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Hey, there's Jay Boyd. They know me. This party, everybody's somebody.
- 47:21Speaker 3: And Hard Rock Bet has something for everyone.
- 47:24Speaker 6: Plus, new customers bet $ 5 and get up to $ 500
- 47:27Speaker 6: in no-sweat bets.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Big friend.
- 47:31Speaker 1: It is Hard Rock Bets on Hutton & Withrow. A
- 47:35Speaker 1: great offer right now. New customers bet $ 5, get up
- 47:38Speaker 1: to $ 500 in no-sweat bets. Hardrock.bet.com. Chad, congratulations.
- 47:46Speaker 2: The lock.
- 47:47Speaker 1: The lock hits again. And your Friday night, your run
- 47:51Speaker 1: on Friday night is phenomenal as well. I hit on
- 47:53Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence. UGA to win outright. But BYU minus 10.5.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Well done. Yeah. Good job on Georgia, too, which I
- 48:02Speaker 2: like Georgia a lot for that SEC title. That's why
- 48:05Speaker 2: I picked them in the preseason, too.
- 48:07Speaker 3: 14-1, Hutton.
- 48:08Speaker 2: 14-1. We're sitting in Woodbury, Tennessee, Canaan County High School
- 48:11Speaker 2: Friday night.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 2: And I'm showing you scores, and I'm updating scores, and
- 48:14Speaker 2: I'm like, look at this. all of daddy's picks coming through.
- 48:19Speaker 2: I was sitting there. The quarterback is saying F and
- 48:22Speaker 2: jump to the lineman when they're trying to get them
- 48:24Speaker 2: to jump off sides and just punking Washington in that game.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Hawkeyes look great on the money line for that one.
- 48:31Speaker 2: It was a three and a half point underdog. Louisville
- 48:34Speaker 2: dominates FSU. Finally, they look like a good football team again,
- 48:38Speaker 2: winning by 24 points. And then late at night, I
- 48:42Speaker 2: got home an hour and a half, you know, drive
- 48:44Speaker 2: hour and 20 minutes, drive home. get home and I'm
- 48:46Speaker 2: watching the second half of that BYU game and I'm like, please, please, please.
- 48:50Speaker 2: And the Cougs cover, not by a lot, but they
- 48:53Speaker 2: cover in that game to give me the clean sweep
- 48:55Speaker 2: of the three-leg Friday night parlay. Hutton, I'm not great
- 48:58Speaker 2: right now on Saturday and Sunday. We're accountable on this show.
- 49:02Speaker 2: We'll be honest with our successes and our failures constantly.
- 49:05Speaker 2: I'm really bad on Sundays with the NFL. Not great
- 49:08Speaker 2: on Saturdays. I am telling the public right now, I'm
- 49:11Speaker 2: telling you, tail me. on Friday nights because 14-1, you're
- 49:15Speaker 2: not going to get any better than that. Clay Travis
- 49:17Speaker 2: even gave me a shout-out and said, be seeing your
- 49:20Speaker 2: picks on Friday with that type of percentage. And I
- 49:23Speaker 2: will have picks for every game on Friday night this
- 49:25Speaker 2: week for us also Friday night college football. So let's,
- 49:29Speaker 2: let's ride the hot hand. Let's ride the hot hand.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Adding to the stack, I told JT, who he chimed
- 49:35Speaker 1: in over the weekend, and said, you know, take a
- 49:38Speaker 1: step out of this.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. You're getting advice
- 49:42Speaker 2: from Todd Furman. We'll be okay. We'll be okay. Check
- 49:45Speaker 2: out the schedule for this weekend, October 17th. We'll be
- 49:49Speaker 2: here soon.
- 49:51Speaker 1: And, man, we've got some massive matchups. The SEC, no
- 49:54Speaker 1: one is safe. Florida's lost two in a row. You've
- 49:57Speaker 1: got Texas, who's coming off the upset loss to Oklahoma.
- 50:03Speaker 1: LSU with the loss. There are a lot of teams
- 50:05Speaker 1: on the rebound, including Alabama, who is favored now by 7.5.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Tell you what, a couple of money line picks I'd
- 50:14Speaker 2: be looking to make this week with a team that's
- 50:15Speaker 2: an underdog. Kentucky and Oklahoma. Minus 6.5 for Oklahoma. I
- 50:20Speaker 2: think Kentucky goes on the road and wins. I'm going
- 50:24Speaker 2: to stop being an unbeliever in Missouri. Missouri's going to
- 50:27Speaker 2: go to Ole Miss and win. even as an underdog.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I'm a believer in Missouri now with what they've been
- 50:32Speaker 2: able to do. I like both those games. I thought
- 50:34Speaker 2: you were going to say the Citadel. I do not
- 50:36Speaker 2: like Tennessee as a 7.5-point underdog, I will say. Right now,
- 50:42Speaker 2: we'll see how the week progresses, but I would take
- 50:44Speaker 2: Bama to cover the 7.5 in Knoxville on Saturday. This
- 50:48Speaker 2: Tennessee offense does not have what it takes to knock
- 50:51Speaker 2: off Alabama.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Can Florida get their run game back and go on
- 50:56Speaker 1: the road? I think they cover. I can't wait to
- 51:00Speaker 1: watch that game.
- 51:00Speaker 2: And how about Beamer Ball, Hutt? How about Beamer Ball?
- 51:04Speaker 2: I mean, the resurrection of Shane Beamer. Incredible.
- 51:06Speaker 1: I went back and pulled some cuts for tomorrow about
- 51:10Speaker 1: him talking about being on the hot seat and how
- 51:12Speaker 1: this team has stuck with him.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Hey, happy birthday to my mom, Pat Hutton. Yes. 70 today.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Going to hang out with her tonight. Awesome. Happy birthday, Mrs. Hutton.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Happy birthday. Have a wonderful time in Florida, Jeff. Thank you.
- 51:26Speaker 2: I will. I'm going to hit the beach right now.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Get after it.
