- 0:01Well howdy and welcome to the Mark Driscoll show.
- 0:03Guys, we have a show for you today.
- 0:06We get into everything from what happened in Minnesota Tyran to
- 0:10Venezuela, to a pastor that committed an 8 year long
- 0:15adultery and will be judged much harder, harsher than Trump.
- 0:20And then we finish up with an only fans model.
- 0:22So it is going to be an action-packed show for you.
- 0:26You will not want to tune out at any point.
- 0:49I said go get yourself some lights.
- 0:50Big boy, go ahead out. Of the car, get out of the car.
- 0:57Get out of the car. What a week.
- 1:04It has been wild week Minnesota's and that's really
- 1:08total lack of respect and honor for our.
- 1:11Well, and a lack of leadership. So you've got Governor Tim Walz,
- 1:15who was going to be vice president of the United States
- 1:17of America, which is horrifying. You're seeing unprecedented
- 1:22fraud, complete lack of leadership, and now you're
- 1:26seeing dishonor, disregard, disrespect for law enforcement,
- 1:32and lawful enforcement of laws. And so, America, we were this
- 1:36close to having this man be second in command for the entire
- 1:40country. What do you just not to get off
- 1:44track, but what would America look like today?
- 1:47Well, you've got Kamala Harris who was complicit in arguably
- 1:51the greatest cover up in the history of the United States of
- 1:53America. And that is the cognitive not
- 1:56just decline, but complete inability of the commander in
- 2:01chief of the United States of America and went on the record
- 2:05repeatedly to defend his cognitive abilities, saying that
- 2:10she works with him and you know, he's sharp and competent and
- 2:13capable. Which honestly, if your if your
- 2:16allegiance is to the United States of America, that is
- 2:20damnable because you're defending your boss and you are
- 2:24putting at risk your nation. That is a man who was in no
- 2:28condition to be holding the office, let alone signing up for
- 2:32four more years. You know I.
- 2:35Mean, think about all the things that have happened in the last
- 2:3712 months since Trump's been in. And I mean, there was threats of
- 2:39nuclear war, the war in Israel, the war in Ukraine, the, I mean,
- 2:44the trade war, the the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
- 2:49I mean, Charlie Kirk would be in prison.
- 2:51Yeah. Well, now you know that.
- 2:53Well, now we know that Biden had other significant health issues
- 2:56that had to have been covered up.
- 2:58And so this is a man who couldn't do the job when he was
- 3:01in office and today wouldn't be able to do the office.
- 3:05And you know, perhaps it seems a little nefarious, but maybe
- 3:08that's why she was excited for him to run again, knowing that
- 3:11she would inherit the office and then she could run 2 times and
- 3:15maybe she could be president for 11 or 12 years.
- 3:19And so under her would be Tim Waltz.
- 3:20In between the two of them, you would have the most pro
- 3:23abortion, you know, ticket in the history of the United States
- 3:28of America, supporting abortion up through birth.
- 3:32Both of whom claiming to be Christians and both of whom were
- 3:36part of very liberal, progressive pseudo Christian
- 3:39denominations. And I think Tim Waltz was
- 3:41Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
- 3:44And so you would have had a counterfeit Christianity pro
- 3:48death and you would have had a massive deficit.
- 3:51You would have DEI. And you're seeing the cost of
- 3:55that with the Somali scandal in Minnesota.
- 3:58In addition, you would be seeing transgenderism just taken to the
- 4:03next level, mutilation of children, overturning of
- 4:06parental rights, suppressing of religious freedom, which was
- 4:10unprecedented during the Biden regime.
- 4:12You had you had Catholics being arrested for praying silently
- 4:16outside of abortion clinics. All of that would have been
- 4:19taken to the next level. Yeah, it's wild.
- 4:21And the conspiracy, the fraud, whatever you would call this,
- 4:25like Somali daycare situation feels like a conspiracy, but
- 4:29it's not. I mean, Tim Walz immediately is
- 4:33withdrawing from the next race because he knows how bad it is.
- 4:36Looks like it's $250 million stolen from child nutrition
- 4:40programs through these nonprofits and potentially up to
- 4:469 billion in social services. But the investigation's ongoing.
- 4:50But they were funding these other countries to come in and
- 4:53take over America. So, yeah, with, with the sort of
- 4:57the powder keg and, and there's multiple factors that are at
- 5:00work in in Minneapolis and, and in Minnesota and Washington and
- 5:05Oregon and certain states. There's these bright blue dots
- 5:09like Minneapolis, Seattle and Portland where you have the
- 5:11concentration of population. And then it's the rural areas
- 5:14that tend to be conservative that are just so frustrated
- 5:18because the politics is driven by the bright blue dots in the
- 5:22urban cores. And so you get outside of those
- 5:24areas and people are saying, and they're having the fun and deal
- 5:27with the implications of the urban insanity.
- 5:30But what you've got in Minnesota is you've got intersectionality
- 5:34and cultural social Marxism playing out to its logical
- 5:38conclusion. And so so you've got you've got
- 5:41immigration and then you've got ICE coming in to deal with the
- 5:44immigration that leads to this tension.
- 5:46It's like a squeezing bison, a powder keg that then leads to
- 5:50the unfortunate shooting of a woman that we'll get to this
- 5:54week. And So what happens with the
- 5:56illegal immigration? It's it's intersectionality.
- 6:00Intersectionality is sort of the the score keeping on the social
- 6:04Marxist, progressive democratic left.
- 6:07Think of it this way, you get a point for every minority item
- 6:10you are. So you're an illegal immigrant,
- 6:13you get a point. You're non white, you get a
- 6:15point. You're Muslim and not Christian,
- 6:18you get a point. You're poor and not rich, you
- 6:20get a point. English is not your primary
- 6:23language, you get a point. So intersectionality, the more
- 6:26points you get, the more oppressed you are.
- 6:28The more oppressed you are, the more government goods and
- 6:31services and resources as you get and the more you're like,
- 6:34you know, a sacred cow in India and you just get to do whatever
- 6:38you want and you're untouchable. And so with the Somalis, you've
- 6:41got about 100,000 people that have come into largely in and
- 6:46around Minneapolis and, and they are draining the social service
- 6:51net. I, I made some notes here this
- 6:53morning. 58% of those who are Somali, they do not speak
- 6:58English well and so they have not assimilated into American
- 7:01culture. 39% do not have a high school diploma. 89% are on
- 7:07welfare, meaning they're coming into the culture and into the
- 7:10community and then they're taking economically, but they
- 7:14haven't contributed. No.
- 7:15I mean, we're a nonprofit and our budget is smaller than most
- 7:18of these daycares we're taking in for.
- 7:20I mean, it's wild. It is wild.
- 7:22Well, and in that too, let me get the stats and we'll come
- 7:24back to then 86% are on Medicaid.
- 7:29Only 28% of those who are native born in Minnesota are
- 7:33comparatively on Medicaid. 20%, one in five of the able bodied
- 7:38working age men are not employed and 1/2 of the kids, more than
- 7:431/2 of the children, minors are living in poverty in the Somali
- 7:46community in Minnesota. And that is in comparison to
- 7:50only 7.6% of those born within the state.
- 7:55And So what you're seeing is people coming into the country
- 7:58saying we tend to be Muslim. We're not going to speak your
- 8:03language. We're not going to simulate into
- 8:05your culture. We're not going to share your
- 8:07values. What we are going to do is take
- 8:10your resources. And what we're going to do is
- 8:13we're actually going to steal from you.
- 8:15But you can't ask for accountability or audits or
- 8:19investigation because if you do, you're a racist.
- 8:23And so this is how the left works.
- 8:26They just keep calling you, you know, racist, sexist,
- 8:29homophobic, chauvinistic, patriarchal.
- 8:32They just name call you. And at the top of the, you know,
- 8:35the progressive shame pyramid is racist.
- 8:38Well, you can't ask, hey, can we look at your books?
- 8:41Can we make sure that this is actually going to help people?
- 8:44You're racist, you're racist, you're racist, you're racist.
- 8:47And there's a certain amount of white suburban guilt
- 8:50particularly evident among, you know, wine moms named Karen.
- 8:55And they're just like, yeah, we don't want to be racist.
- 8:57So we're just going to support all of this and defend all of
- 9:00this. And, and what we're really,
- 9:04really helps their causes, the church.
- 9:07So churches that are committed to social justice and cultural
- 9:10Marxism and denominations like the Southern Baptist Convention
- 9:14and the Presbyterian Church in America that historically
- 9:17supported slavery. You call them racist, they
- 9:21surrender. They surrender because they,
- 9:24they were racist. And so you call them racist.
- 9:26They don't, they don't, it's, that's the trigger.
- 9:28And So what happens now you've got 100,000 people and you have
- 9:33massive corruption. And, and what we don't
- 9:36understand is they don't think in national terms.
- 9:39They think in terms of can and clan.
- 9:41And so a Somali comes in, they're committed to their can,
- 9:45they're committed to their clan. Meaning even if there is fraud,
- 9:48they're going to fill out the paperwork and they're going to
- 9:49defend their can and clan because they have no allegiance
- 9:52to the United States of America. They don't see themselves an
- 9:54American citizen. And now there is an
- 9:57investigation. Are we sending money back to Al
- 9:59Shabaab and terrorist organizations back in Somalia?
- 10:03So not only is there fraud in America, are we supporting our
- 10:06Islamic jihadist enemies overseas?
- 10:09And just the mind melt for me is we were in the Eisenhower
- 10:13building next to the White House, my wife Grace and I,
- 10:16about a month ago. And we're meeting with members
- 10:18of the Trump cabinet. I think it was Christine Gnome
- 10:20came in and we were getting sort of debriefs and reports as part
- 10:24of the National Faith Advisory Board.
- 10:27And they told us that in addition to every dollar spent
- 10:29in Minnesota, it was matched with federal dollars.
- 10:35So if you're looking at Zelana, think about this like if there's
- 10:37like a billion dollars in fraud from Minnesota, there's a
- 10:41billion dollars in fraud from the federal government.
- 10:44And so we have only begun, gosh, to shovel out the barn.
- 10:50That's crazy. So it's do you think it's these
- 10:53people taking advantage of somebody that is soft like Tim
- 10:56Walls or do you think Tim Walls is praying on America and trying
- 11:00to invite these people in? I think at the end of the day, I
- 11:06think people are So if you're a Christian, you believe that
- 11:11apart from Jesus Christ, people are sinners by nature and
- 11:15choice, and that human depravity will prompt them to do evil.
- 11:19And apart from the Holy Spirit, we're all capable of doing
- 11:23tremendous evil, lying, stealing, killing, cheating.
- 11:27And it doesn't matter if you're black or brown or yellow or
- 11:30white or green or orange. And so it's not about the color
- 11:34of your skin, it's about the nature of your soul.
- 11:37And so just to say you can't say that someone who is non white is
- 11:42capable of sin or evil makes you a racist as a Christian
- 11:48character is supersedes race and nature of soul supersedes ethnic
- 11:55origin. And so the stupidity in all of
- 11:58this is thinking that certain people, because they have
- 12:03hypothetically been oppressed or their race or their gender has
- 12:07been in a minority position, means that they're inherently
- 12:10more wholly or morally superior. It denies everything that
- 12:15Christianity says, and that is that we're all centers by nature
- 12:19and choice. And it doesn't matter what your
- 12:21race, doesn't matter what your gender, doesn't matter what your
- 12:23ethnicity, that you need Jesus because of your sin nature, you
- 12:29are capable of great evil. So when we when we lose sight of
- 12:32the gospel, we lose sight of the foundational issue that people
- 12:36are sinful. And unless we have government
- 12:39that understands human sinfulness, we trust them, and
- 12:43then they take advantage of us because that's what sinners do.
- 12:46100% So let's go down to what about the shooting, The
- 12:51shooting, was it a just shooting?
- 12:54You know, the government, the courts will sort that out.
- 12:57What? What is it?
- 12:57Here's what we do. Now.
- 12:59Here is a gal who is a lesbian, and she's a Black Lives Matter
- 13:02supporter. She has a group that is opposed
- 13:05to ICE and organizes protest against ICE in this country.
- 13:10You have freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of
- 13:12expression. You can show up and you can
- 13:14protest. That's fine.
- 13:16What you can't do is impede law enforcement, and that's what
- 13:19she's doing. She had appeared at multiple ICE
- 13:23raids seeking to impede law enforcement.
- 13:27The reason that she can do that is because she's underemployed
- 13:30or unemployed and her mother pays her rent and what she does.
- 13:35There's a 3 minute video that is posted that shows that she takes
- 13:38her Honda Pilot. She parks it in the center of
- 13:41the street, blocking all the lanes of traffic and for three
- 13:45minutes is honking on her horn while law enforcement is sort of
- 13:51doing a sweep of the neighborhood.
- 13:52Now, we don't know why. You could say this is horrible.
- 13:55We don't know. Are there gang members there?
- 13:57Is there criminal arrests? Have there been, you know, calls
- 14:00of terrorism? I don't know why they're there,
- 14:03but I'm not law enforcement. That's law enforcement's job.
- 14:07And so she, and you could see it, you could see in the video,
- 14:10people that are trying to exit the neighborhood are having to
- 14:12drive up and around her car. And she what she's decided is
- 14:17today I have authority over the neighborhood because I'm a wine
- 14:23mom with a Honda Pilot. Yeah, I just, I'm trying to
- 14:26understand what would come over a lady to do something like
- 14:29this. Like I, I see a fire truck and
- 14:31I'm like, oh crap. I need to pull over and respect
- 14:34their duty. They're risking their lives for
- 14:36me. These people that are, they're
- 14:38protecting Americans and now Americans are attacking them.
- 14:42Because, because this is like, what are those who call evil
- 14:46good and good evil and light, darkness and darkness light.
- 14:49I mean, you know, at the same time, we saw a shooting in
- 14:53Portland and there was this eruption and they're like, oh,
- 14:55they're trying to rock or whatever it is the, you know,
- 14:58the the terrorist gang organization.
- 15:00And it was a a gang member and a prostitute.
- 15:03And everybody's like, well, yeah, probably shouldn't, you
- 15:06know, say that was a bad thing. Yeah, you think.
- 15:09And so, you know, in this one, it is sad anytime somebody gets
- 15:12shot. It's a sad when children lose
- 15:15their mother. And so we find no joy or
- 15:17celebration in that. But at the same time, if there
- 15:21is law enforcement and you are impeding law enforcement and
- 15:26they tell you to stop and you drive your vehicle at them, case
- 15:31law does say that now that vehicle can be considered a
- 15:34deadly weapon. It's much more deadly than a
- 15:36gun. Well, so now one of the reports
- 15:39I heard, and again, you don't know if you can believe what's
- 15:41online, there was a report that says the same officer had been
- 15:45hit and drugged by a vehicle previously.
- 15:48And so put yourself in his position.
- 15:51If you have a gun pulled and somebody is driving at you, you
- 15:54have a split second decision to make.
- 15:56If it isn't true that he has been hit by a vehicle and drug,
- 16:00you're like, I've been here before, I'm not doing this
- 16:02again. Totally, Yeah.
- 16:04And I mean humanize the ICE agents a little bit, I think.
- 16:09They want to go home to their family.
- 16:10I think that's what we're missing.
- 16:11All these people are like, ice is awful.
- 16:13Ice is a bunch of dads showing up to protect women and
- 16:17children. Well, you know what the radical
- 16:19weird thing is about the majority of Border Patrol?
- 16:21They're Hispanic. They're bilingual.
- 16:25They did it legally and now they want to protect what this year?
- 16:28Yeah. And so at the end of the day,
- 16:30though, this is where those who are in flaming passion and
- 16:34emotion on the irrational and sometimes, you know, delusional
- 16:38left. It's like, you know, you could
- 16:40be sending people into harm's way with rhetoric.
- 16:44But at the end of the day, it is perfectly fine to express
- 16:46yourself. It is perfectly fine to protest.
- 16:49But once you insert yourself into active moments of law,
- 16:56investigation or activation, you're now impeding law
- 17:00enforcement, and you have gone from exercising your
- 17:03constitutional rights to committing a crime.
- 17:06Yeah, I mean, I to, to think about attacking a police officer
- 17:09or a Border Patrol agent or a nice agent, like I have
- 17:13tremendous respect for what they're doing.
- 17:15And I have a healthy fear of them, as I would assume you do
- 17:19when a cop turns his lights on. You're like, oh, Yep.
- 17:23Well, so like growing up simply with our kids, they would tell
- 17:25you like if we were in a barbershop or we were out to
- 17:27dinner, coffee or whatever, if there was anybody in a uniform,
- 17:31I picked up the tab. And then our family would go
- 17:33over on the way out and thank them.
- 17:36And I would say, hey, these are the good guys.
- 17:38We thank the good guys. And at the end of the day, do
- 17:41you do you want to live in a world that is lawless anarchy?
- 17:45And some people will say, well, the law made mistakes.
- 17:47Well, human beings do. I would rather live in a place
- 17:50that has rule of law than anarchy because sometimes law
- 17:54will make mistakes, but anarchy is nothing but mistakes.
- 17:58Yep, 100%. So what would you say in closing
- 18:02on this topic? What?
- 18:03What do we do about a place like Minneapolis?
- 18:06Well, I mean, So what is going to happen in places like
- 18:10Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland is #1 decent people are going to
- 18:16leave. They're just going to pack up
- 18:18and go. They're going to say the taxes
- 18:19are high, Chicago, New York, the taxes are high.
- 18:24The the safety and quality of life is low.
- 18:28And if you, if you want to raise kids, you can't.
- 18:33And for those who haven't lived in places like this, it would be
- 18:37shocking to you. Like where we're from in
- 18:41Seattle. There's a place underneath the
- 18:42viaduct downtown. You drive along I-5, it's
- 18:45called. It's called the Jungle.
- 18:48It's where thousands of people live.
- 18:50The cops will not go in. They've declared their own
- 18:53mirror and they've named it their own city.
- 18:55It is. It is literally, it is the
- 18:59zombie apocalypse. It is the perch.
- 19:01I've been there in years, but when we drove by with the kids,
- 19:04I forgot about it. Like there's naked people
- 19:06humping. There's somebody naked taking a
- 19:09bath under a bucket. I kid you not, Landon on the
- 19:13freeway, there's a naked dude high on meth on a stationary
- 19:17exercise bike going 100 miles an hour on on the side of the
- 19:20freeway and you're like. You could never raise kids
- 19:23there. Yeah, You're like.
- 19:24You know what? I don't want your son there.
- 19:26No, I don't want my son there. You're like, I don't want me
- 19:30there. Yeah, I don't want me there.
- 19:31It's but, but you know, there are certain places in these
- 19:34cities like right now in Dearborn, MI, there are places
- 19:37in Seattle, there's places in Minneapolis, there's places in
- 19:40Portland. The law enforcement won't even
- 19:43go. There's certain blocks of
- 19:44neighborhoods are like, we're out because it is so far gone.
- 19:50And the citizens there are so lawless and anarchist in their
- 19:54ideology that if if the law enforcement wants to go home and
- 19:58see their family, they can't venture into those neighborhoods
- 20:01and and those sort of pockets. They only grow and expand like a
- 20:04cancer until it reaches the point where decent people leave
- 20:09and those areas go into major decline.
- 20:13And once the value of the property declines, then what
- 20:18happens is those who are Islamic and social justice move in.
- 20:23They take over, they set up some form of Sharia law as a
- 20:27stronghold and then they're thinking generationally having
- 20:30population. And that's exactly what's
- 20:33happening in Dearborn outside of outside of what is it in
- 20:38Michigan today. And so that that's what's going
- 20:41to happen in some of these places.
- 20:42Well, and they're talking about Tim Walls is threatening to call
- 20:47in the National Guard and talking maybe we need to have a
- 20:50civil war. And I'm like, yeah, maybe we do.
- 20:52I would, I would love to have a civil war with these people.
- 20:55It would it would end in 24 hours because they don't own any
- 20:59guns. And I don't think the National
- 21:01Guard or anyone's going to respect Tim Walls.
- 21:03But it it would be a bunch of liberal wine moms against
- 21:07Americans with families. It would.
- 21:09It would never work. Well, so, so far, it's like, OK,
- 21:12Tim, you, you're good at corruption and anarchy.
- 21:16And turning little boys into. And and gender and mutilation,
- 21:20you're good at anarchy, corruption and mutilation.
- 21:24And, and if anybody thinks that's a good idea, move, move
- 21:28to Minneapolis. If anybody doesn't move to
- 21:31Idaho. Sure, Idaho's great.
- 21:34Idaho's great. Well, we all know that God wants
- 21:37us to be good stewards of our money, wealth, finances and
- 21:41possessions. With uncertainty in the stock
- 21:44market and the housing market, one thing we all know is gold
- 21:48and silver has always been a safe and secure place to put
- 21:52your wealth and finances. So I wanted to let you know

- 22:46Well, Speaking of regimes that are being overthrown, we're
- 22:50seeing in Iran there's a ton of protests happening trying to
- 22:54overthrow what's the just oppressive, awful place that it
- 22:58is currently, Venezuela. The last couple weeks has been a
- 23:01good time seeing Trump just step in.
- 23:04And yeah, it's it's been wild, but we're we're seeing the world
- 23:08kind of decide, you know what, we're not going to put up with
- 23:11these oppressive dictator regimes and we need to fight
- 23:15back. What what has been your take
- 23:16seeing everything kind of play out the last few weeks?
- 23:19So those who are, so there's difference between politically,
- 23:23there's, there's globalism where we need to get involved in every
- 23:27clue. You know, every global conflict
- 23:29in America needs to be the police force of the world.
- 23:31That's how we got into Iraq and Afghanistan, and that's where we
- 23:34left a bunch of supplies in Afghanistan and we lost good
- 23:37American lives and international conflict.
- 23:40And I think most of us, you know, on the left and the right
- 23:42are at the point of like, we don't want to be globe, at least
- 23:45we don't want to be. We don't want to be globalist in
- 23:47so far as war is concerned. Those who are on the political
- 23:50left, they still want us to be globalist in so far as joining
- 23:53the World Health Organization and being politically governed
- 23:57by the interests of the globe, not just our nation.
- 23:59On the far, far right would be isolationism that we have
- 24:03nothing to do with other nations and we only worry about the
- 24:05homeland and what's within the, you know, the four boundaries of
- 24:09our nation. And then there is the America
- 24:11First agenda, which is nationalism, but it's not
- 24:14isolationism. It's not globalism.
- 24:17That is honestly what I have held since God save me in
- 24:20college. And it goes all the way back to,
- 24:23I would say a man like Pat Buchanan, who has a lot of
- 24:25influence on the history of some of this thought.
- 24:27But anyways, So what we're seeing now is there are things
- 24:30that are in America's interest that if we get involved, we get
- 24:34involved with a little problem before it becomes a big problem.
- 24:38This is this is like preventative maintenance in your
- 24:41health. It's like if I make these
- 24:43adjustments today, I'll avoid cancer tomorrow.
- 24:46And so, for example, in Venezuela, many people don't
- 24:51know this was a flourishing country, far more akin to
- 24:55democracy and then was overtaken by a bloodthirsty, you know,
- 24:59dictatorial regime. And, and the citizens were
- 25:03brutalized and the economy was crushed.
- 25:06And a lot of the infrastructure that America put into the oil
- 25:08industries, they've got the largest oil reserves on Earth,
- 25:12were taken by cartels and dictators.
- 25:16And Trump is like, you know what?
- 25:18They're giving a lot of the oil to China and they're funding our
- 25:24enemies like Cuba. So how about we just pinch the
- 25:27hoes? From a guy that was literally
- 25:30goading Trump and like come get me, you won't do it.
- 25:33He's like. OK, OK.
- 25:36Do it. What and what's wild too?
- 25:38I don't know if you read the reports, like it'll be
- 25:40interesting if any more data comes out, but like 20 Tier 1
- 25:43operators show up, take out hundreds of special forces, lose
- 25:49no one. And it seems like they had
- 25:52weapons that no one knows what it was.
- 25:55They're like Sonic, like, you know, our ears blew up, we're
- 25:58bleeding out the nose, we're disoriented.
- 26:00Like they don't know what happened.
- 26:02This was like, this was like The Avengers showed up and they
- 26:05didn't know what happened to him.
- 26:07And I heard that I'd have to confirm this, that one of the
- 26:10operators was 19. Oh my.
- 26:13Gosh, which would be the youngest tier one operator
- 26:15deployed? That's wild.
- 26:17That's. Wild.
- 26:18It's a fun operation. Yeah, like that's a high school
- 26:20sophomore, if that's true. And so, you know, nobody died.
- 26:26We don't have boots on the ground.
- 26:27We're not, we're not deploying Americans.
- 26:29We're not putting American lives at risk.
- 26:32But what we just did, we choked off the hose that is feeding our
- 26:37enemies, which is good #2 we are liberating people who are under
- 26:42oppression. So I don't know why those who
- 26:43are all the social justice Liberator activists, were they
- 26:47not cheering and going, We liberated and we're protecting a
- 26:50whole bunch of people who are? Placed don't want to paint it
- 26:52like we're oppressing a country, and no Venezuelan would ever say
- 26:55that. In Venezuela right now, there
- 26:57are streets that they're naming after Trump.
- 26:59For sure. Yeah, Ashley, my wife taught
- 27:03Venezuelan refugees here in America English and they they
- 27:08wanted to leave the country so bad because it's awful.
- 27:11No one in America understand understands what it's like to
- 27:14live in a place like that. And they would love to see it
- 27:16liberated, and they would love to go back and help rebuild
- 27:19their country, Some of them. It should be a wealthy country.
- 27:23With that, with with that population base and that much
- 27:27oil reserves, Yeah. But instead you've got a
- 27:31dictator who is a cartel thug funding China and enemies and
- 27:36supporting nations like Cuba. Well, if you Chuck, if you choke
- 27:39off China and you choke off Cuba as well as others, that's good.
- 27:43Now it forces them to negotiating table.
- 27:46And now what happens is you're playing 40 chess.
- 27:49Now all of a sudden China doesn't have the ability to
- 27:52strengthen their economy, which weakens their ability to invade
- 27:55Taiwan. Now you're averting World War
- 27:59Three. And if you choke off Cuba now,
- 28:01you're getting rid of the threat of one of our closest
- 28:06adversaries geographically. And you put every dictator on
- 28:09notice. Well, yeah.
- 28:11And right now, like if you're a cartel leader in Mexico or
- 28:14you're an enemy, you're like, OK, they actually say things and
- 28:19then do them, which is scary. Trump is turning this nation
- 28:23back into an empire that is taking ground, which we haven't
- 28:27seen in, I mean, maybe 100 years where nations have been taken.
- 28:32And we're looking at taking Venezuela, maybe Greenland I.
- 28:36Guess it was like a Groupon. We're going to take Venezuela,
- 28:38we're going to throw in Greenland.
- 28:40But but part of it is the the, the folks that were America
- 28:44first, the rabid right. They're like, we shouldn't be
- 28:48involved in anything internationally.
- 28:49We shouldn't be sending American troops to die on foreign soil
- 28:53for foreign wars. We should find strategic ways to
- 28:57bring peace to the world and serve American interests if we
- 29:00are Americans. And not be penalized when we
- 29:05were funding other countries. That's what the the tariffs was
- 29:07the thing that flipped the the whole economy on its head right
- 29:11now with we were paying China to take our product and we are
- 29:16paying them to get their product.
- 29:18And instead Trump's like, no, no, no, no, you're going to pay
- 29:20us both ways and OK, cool. Or don't.
- 29:23And I'll, I'll ruin your economy on anything coming into America
- 29:27because everything says made in China on it.
- 29:28So let me slap 100% tariff on it.
- 29:31Trump, Trump is becoming the most powerful man in the world,
- 29:35which I would appreciate our president being that because
- 29:38that's been the case in the history of America.
- 29:41We have been the person at the front and instead we were the
- 29:44social justice nation for the last four years and it's a
- 29:48terrifying place to be. Well, he thinks like a
- 29:50businessman. So what he's thinking is, OK,
- 29:52America's a customer. And now we're we're we're
- 29:56shopping globally. And if you want our business,
- 30:00we're going to negotiate the deal.
- 30:02Previously you have politicians that don't think like
- 30:05businessmen. Yep.
- 30:07And so you don't end up with a good deal.
- 30:10He's trying to make America the richest nation in the world.
- 30:12And I think I, I'm going to make 2 predictions that I think I
- 30:15think he will do. And it's going to be really
- 30:18hard. And I think that's why he's
- 30:19working on tariffs so hard is he's going to get rid of income
- 30:22tax and he's going to get rid of property tax.
- 30:24And if he gets rid of those two? You're automatically 20 to 40%
- 30:29richer without getting a raise. At that point is in a completely
- 30:33different situation and and right now I would say
- 30:36politically, socially, economically, culturally, the
- 30:40issue in America is family because family is the
- 30:44cornerstone for every other institution.
- 30:46You build business on it, you build nations on it, you build
- 30:50churches on a community. So without family, you got
- 30:52nothing. Birth rate is too small,
- 30:55marriage and family is expensive and it disincentivizes young
- 31:00people from getting married, having kids, buying a home,
- 31:03having a lot of kids purely from an economic standpoint.
- 31:07And there's an entire generation, your generation of
- 31:09young men and my sons that now we're, they're going to the
- 31:13right. And they, you know, they, they
- 31:15want to get married and they want to have a family.
- 31:16It's like, OK, well, can we, can we find a way to help them
- 31:20actually like get married, buy a house and have a lot of kids.
- 31:24And if we do that, then what we're doing, we're unlocking the
- 31:28future of the United States of America and as pro-life
- 31:31Christians and be fruitful and multiply folks, we're like, you
- 31:34know what? Our God would bless that and get
- 31:36behind that and put a tailwind to it.
- 31:39And so if we can find a way to keep money in the pockets of
- 31:42fathers and keep it out of the pocket of government.
- 31:47Then what we're doing is we're putting.
- 31:49We're putting the future of the country into the hands of young
- 31:52men who are husbands and fathers, and we're taking it out
- 31:56of the hands of old men who are politicians 100.
- 32:00Percent it's it's putting the. Wealth where it needs to go,
- 32:03lowering gas prices, capping credit card rates, buying
- 32:07mortgage bonds, forcing interest rates down at forcing other
- 32:11countries to stop taking advantage of us, having a budget
- 32:14surplus. They found $30 billion the other
- 32:16day and the guy walks into his office and he's like, we found
- 32:19we don't know where this is from.
- 32:20And he's like the IT was under the couch cushion.
- 32:24Like he is. Running the country in a way
- 32:26that will sustain us for a very long time and encourage his
- 32:29family. And it's my hats off to him.
- 32:32It's very impressive. And every step of the way
- 32:34everyone's fighting him, everyone's breaks, hard breaks.
- 32:38The courts are trying to undo each decision he makes and and
- 32:42then I think he's got a real shot he needs to win the
- 32:44midterms if we don't win the midterms.
- 32:47Those on the right, it'll just be law, fair and gridlock up
- 32:51until the next presidential election.
- 32:53It's going to be a it's going to be a knife fight in a phone
- 32:56booth. But for me, you know, people
- 32:58look at his, his personality and I would say look at policy, Look
- 33:05at policy and look at where, look at the two options that we
- 33:09had. We had two options.
- 33:10And and don't look at personality, look at policy.
- 33:13I mean, in so far as personality goes, you know, one of the
- 33:17nicest, most congenial presidents we ever had was Jimmy
- 33:20Carter. And.
- 33:24His leadership ability was about the same as this table, you
- 33:29know, I mean, Trump is governing like a king.
- 33:32And people don't like that. He's wired like a king.
- 33:35God wired him like a king to run this in a way where people don't
- 33:38take advantage of it. Well, I'll be honest.
- 33:41You know when you the next thing like I don't know any sane
- 33:43healthy human being that wants the job or can keep it.
- 33:46No, no. No, no, yeah, no.
- 33:49It's well. And something you've pointed out
- 33:52over the last year, it's become very clear, like all of the
- 33:55pastors that came out against Trump, it was like this blaring
- 33:59rainbow flag they wanted to fly that they'd given up on the
- 34:02gospel and gone apostate. And they don't.
- 34:06A lot of these pastors just seem like they don't know Jesus.
- 34:09And welcome to 2020. Six.
- 34:12One thing is certain and that is everything's uncertain.
- 34:16Housing market, interest rates, where the economy is going well,
- 34:22we just don't know. One thing we do know, looking at
- 34:25past performance, a secure place tends to be silver and gold.
- 34:30To that end, we have some friends, our new partners here
- 34:34at Real Faith and Mark Driscoll Ministries Gold Co.

- 35:32Into our next segment on Philip Yancey, get ready to throw up in
- 35:35your mouth. We wanted to play a clip in just
- 35:38a second, but just to tee this up. 8 1/2 year affair with
- 35:44another married gal. He's a best selling author.
- 35:47I think he sold. I want to say it was like
- 35:4918,000,000 copies of his books. Yeah, no, he is one of the most.
- 35:52Prolific, best selling Christian authors.
- 35:55I mean, you know, he's canonized as a St. over at Christianity
- 35:58Today. Oh gosh.
- 36:01It's like. Yeah, you don't want that.
- 36:04Yeah, I mean. Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, but
- 36:06it so. Big Eva.
- 36:09Is under judgement and pruning and big Eva and the hypocrisy is
- 36:15being exposed at at a really tragic and I find no joy now but
- 36:22it is it is profoundly frustrating that a whole
- 36:24generation of older men. Yeah, he's in his mid to late.
- 36:2970s Yeah, they're not. Only not.
- 36:31Finishing well, they're being exposed that maybe the race
- 36:34wasn't run well. No, I I totally agree.
- 36:37And I think this will be a very interesting clip for those
- 36:40online. This was nine years ago, right
- 36:42before he started his Right before he started.
- 36:45Sleeping with another man's wife?
- 36:46Yep. So all right, let's roll a clip.
- 36:56Well, I. I will show my own bias.
- 36:59I I am staggered that so many conservative or evangelical
- 37:05Christians would see a man who is a bully, who made his money
- 37:11by casinos, who has had several wives and several affairs, that
- 37:17they would somehow paint him as as a hero, as as someone that we
- 37:22could stand behind. I'll just say it out.
- 37:27Out loud. I I can't understand how
- 37:29evangelical I can understand. Well, maybe you choose these
- 37:33policies that you support. OK, that's, I understand that.
- 37:37But to to choose a person who stands against everything that
- 37:41Christianity believes as the hero, the representative, one
- 37:45that we get behind enthusiastically, is not
- 37:48something I understand at all. And, and frankly, I think the
- 37:52church in the United States as it the, the more it embeds with
- 37:57politics, the more it, shall we say, hitches a ride with
- 38:02politics. Europeans understand where that
- 38:05goes when the church and the state are seen like this.
- 38:09And then the state proves what it is, which is a, a flawed,
- 38:14sometimes corrupt system. Then the church is judged by the
- 38:18and rejected in the same way the state.
- 38:20There are countries in Europe that, you know, where the church
- 38:24is set back for decades and decades because they have been
- 38:28stained by the way they sold their soul for power, I would
- 38:34say. And, and as as the United States
- 38:37grows more and more secular, I, I tell the people there.
- 38:42I tell my people we are becoming more like the the fertile soil
- 38:47in which the early church did best, like the Roman Empire.
- 38:51This is a Pagan, hostile society, and yet Christians
- 38:55stood out by being different. When you're in a place like the
- 38:58United States or Europe in its recent past, where the majority
- 39:02would claim to be Christians but they don't look, they look like
- 39:05everybody else, then people don't understand what the gospel
- 39:09is. If they look radically different
- 39:10from the world around them, people can see that difference.
- 39:15And then a year later he's like, I'm going to ride that married
- 39:19chick for 8 1/2 years. I don't know who slept with Bob
- 39:23Ross. I.
- 39:23Mean, I don't look at that guy. I don't know.
- 39:26So this is what is so madding. The soft, kind, tender, arty,
- 39:35eloquent, eloquent, inoffensive, white knighting, virtue
- 39:39signaling, third way evangelicals are constantly
- 39:46getting exposed for what they are.
- 39:49And that is damnable, profitable fraudsters.
- 39:53And you know, it's like, so in this one 8 1/2 year adulterous
- 40:00affair, OK, with a married woman, we don't know who she is.
- 40:05We don't know how old she is. There's a lot of questions that
- 40:08I would have #1. Did you get caught or come clean
- 40:11after 8 1/2 years? It's not like you woke up one
- 40:13day and the Holy Spirit zapped your conscience because your
- 40:17conscience at that point is seared.
- 40:19It's gone. You're probably in the process
- 40:23of getting exposed and so you're trying to get ahead of it.
- 40:26In addition, you know, I want to know, like, how old is the gal
- 40:29that you were sleeping with? In addition, was she a
- 40:31subordinate? Is this like an employee that
- 40:34you put on the payroll and you taking advantage of your
- 40:36position? Is this someone you had
- 40:39spiritual authority over and now you're manipulating that toward
- 40:43sexual favors? You know, in addition, during
- 40:47this time, he's still writing and speaking.
- 40:49And so the the the latest book that he published last year was
- 40:53a 365 day devotional guide through the Bible, which means
- 40:57the whole time that he's sleeping with some dude's wife
- 41:00and his own wife. He is studying and writing.
- 41:05An overview of the entire Bible so that.
- 41:09People can. Understand and rightly interpret
- 41:13and apply the Word of God in obedience and humility, which.
- 41:20Means. I mean, I just, my, my mind
- 41:23explodes when you're like, hey, I'm going to type about the
- 41:29Bible and I'm going to go touch another man's wife and then I'm
- 41:31going to tell you about the Bible and then I touch another
- 41:34and this is your career. So true or false?
- 41:37Biblically, he's far worse than Trump.
- 41:40He's a teacher and a pastor. Biblically, I mean so.
- 41:43Biblically this is I don't get it.
- 41:49I mean, I'll be honest with you. Like you're my son-in-law, you
- 41:52married my daughter. Like the Bible.
- 41:54Says not many of you should. Be teachers, you'll be judged
- 41:58more strictly, more harshly, meaning the judgement for a
- 42:02politician is here, the judgement for a Bible teaching
- 42:05pastor or leader is here. Yeah.
- 42:08So this should give everyone who preaches or teaches A profound
- 42:15fear of God, fear of God. I mean, John Calvin, I'll
- 42:19paraphrase. He once said any man who is
- 42:22going into the pulpit without his knees knocking, it would be
- 42:24better if he fell and broke his neck on the way.
- 42:27Like like. There should be a holy.
- 42:31Fear of God, you know, and the Bible's and, and the, the
- 42:34garbage that comes out after this crap too.
- 42:37It just, I'm just freaking sick of all of the, the adultery and
- 42:41then, and then like they go to 15 minutes of time out and
- 42:44they're back and, and, and, and this garbage nonsense where it's
- 42:48like, oh, you know, nobody's perfect.
- 42:50We all have problems. Like no, like in the Old
- 42:53Testament, we killed you. Like we just killed you.
- 42:57You. Didn't get to be a serial
- 42:58offender like we killed you So this piece of trash his wife?
- 43:02Now is going to be the typical one and take care of him Well,
- 43:05his poor wife is saying, you know, I've got.
- 43:07Trauma and I'm devastated, but I'm going to hold true to my
- 43:10vows. He's got Parkinson's, which I'm
- 43:12going to take care of him. It's like I'll tell you my wife,
- 43:14she will be changing his diapers in a.
- 43:16Few years my wife would take care of.
- 43:18Me by hitting me in the head with a shovel.
- 43:21That's how she repeated, repeated.
- 43:22And then Ashley would be there and then.
- 43:24Lexie will be there and then well and and in all of this.
- 43:27Too. It's like I won't even.
- 43:29Name names but but. Then the the complete whore bags
- 43:34that come out and turn this into we're going to talk about our
- 43:38process of recovering from adultery and monetize it into
- 43:42our new ministry platform. It's like you've turned your
- 43:46disqualification into your ministry platform.
- 43:50I'll say it so you don't have to the.
- 43:51The it's disgusting that there's guys like Carl Lentz right now.
- 43:56It's like being put up on a pedestal.
- 43:57He had an affair and his wife, and it's this beautiful thing
- 44:02that he's doing by being so vulnerable with the world and
- 44:05he's getting on gigantic platforms because he's willing
- 44:08to talk about it and be broken and he's monetizing an affair.
- 44:12He's more popular now than he's ever been because he slept with
- 44:16another man's wife. Are you kidding me?
- 44:19When when breaking. A commandment like adultery
- 44:24becomes the basis of your income stream.
- 44:29You need to go to Costco and. Get a soul because you don't
- 44:33have one that is functioning properly.
- 44:36I mean, you know, this is where for me, I took an oath to God
- 44:42and my wife when we got married. And marriage is a sacred oath
- 44:46between your wife and God. And as soon as you take on the
- 44:51mantle of ministry leader, pastor, teacher, spiritual
- 44:57authority, you are taking on a massive responsibility to speak
- 45:04on behalf of God. When you sell millions of books
- 45:08and millions of people are listening to you and you're
- 45:11saying here's what the God of the universe says, and they're
- 45:15listening. You should take that with.
- 45:19Such a an intense sober assessment and and then to
- 45:26Landon like. The damage that you.
- 45:30Do if you're a pastor to your flock.
- 45:33I mean, I've officiated a lot of weddings.
- 45:36I've done a ton of premarital. I'm still a bastard.
- 45:38Like I'm still people's pastor. They believe in marriage because
- 45:43I'm married. You know the amount.
- 45:47Of guys you've helped get. Out of a ditch and get back on
- 45:50the path if all of a sudden they find out I live in the ditch.
- 45:54They'll go right back into the. Ditch you, undo the good that
- 45:57God did through you. No, I like.
- 45:59Hey, guys. Paul says follow me as I follow
- 46:02Christ. I mean, that's the job.
- 46:05And if you ain't following Christ, well, then let everybody
- 46:08know so they can stop following you, you know, and, and for me,
- 46:12like the horror of it, just the, the, this is where my soul just
- 46:16gets right to fury. Like how do you look at your
- 46:21kids? Cause 'cause like with my.
- 46:25Kids like I'm their dad and I'm their pastor.
- 46:30And then you add. Grandkids, I'm choosing that my.
- 46:34Son, that you're his pastor. I know, and that's I.
- 46:38Mean if you. Violate that?
- 46:39No, No, no, no, no. What I would, I would be the
- 46:42first to tell you, yeah, 100% like I.
- 46:44Love your son. And his soul more than my job
- 46:48and my platform. So for one of these pastors.
- 46:51They want to blow up their life. They want to do all this.
- 46:53Should they keep going in ministry?
- 46:55What? What should they do?
- 46:56What should he have done nine years ago?
- 46:59Well. Let's say this, thou shalt not
- 47:02commit adultery for sure. Like God wrote that down
- 47:07himself. There's a lot of verses.
- 47:08I looked him up. There's so many verses on not
- 47:11doing this. Yeah, no kidding.
- 47:12I mean and. And Jesus says it starts in the
- 47:14heart. So as a human being, you know
- 47:17before you have adultery of the hands, you have adultery of the
- 47:20heart. And when adultery starts in the
- 47:22heart, like you, you, you better pull that root before it fruits
- 47:27with full blown adultery. And I would say if you are, you
- 47:32know, don't do this. But if you're going to do this,
- 47:35quit your freaking job. Stop being a pastor, stop being
- 47:38a pastor or a leader. Stop saying Jesus and just, you
- 47:43know, like Judas, go hang yourself.
- 47:47Like go, just go do Jesus looks at Judas.
- 47:50He's like, well, you go do what you want to do, but don't hang
- 47:54out with me and don't pretend that we're friends.
- 47:58And and for me, this is where this is where it's it's
- 48:05absolute, complete and total betrayal of your covenant with
- 48:09God, your covenant with wife. And also it it absolutely
- 48:14eviscerates your family. Like I start.
- 48:18So all all the grandkids were over at our house yesterday.
- 48:22It was it was a great time. I mean, not all four are
- 48:24running. So I'm on zone defense, man.
- 48:26They got me going and Jude ain't running yet and Sadie's on the
- 48:29way. So we're going to be, we're
- 48:31going to be 6 here soon. It's wonderful.
- 48:33Great time. So like so far, the, the one
- 48:35granddaughter I have that's in the world and 1 is in the womb
- 48:38is, is Lila. And so Lila's a year old.
- 48:45When I said I do to. Grace, I started making
- 48:48decisions with Lila in mind as. A as a 21 year.
- 48:53Old man, I've always lived in the future as a visionary and
- 48:56I've always lived for legacy. And I was.
- 48:59I have always thought, you know, when my granddaughter looks me
- 49:03in the eye, she falls in love. She wants to get married, you
- 49:07know? Bop, have you been?
- 49:10Faithful to Nana. And can I trust a man?
- 49:13And is marriage worth it? And is the Bible true what it
- 49:15says about marriage? I have to be able to look her in
- 49:18the eye. So I've been faithful to Nana.
- 49:21You can trust a man, the Bible works, marriage is awesome.
- 49:25I need to be able to look her in the eye and say that before her
- 49:28wedding day. And every decision I make has to
- 49:32be to be able to say that to my sons and daughters and to say
- 49:36that to my grandsons and my granddaughters so that our
- 49:39family can have generational legacy, that there can be
- 49:44blessing on our children and our children's children.
- 49:47And I'll never forget one of our, our kids are all justice
- 49:51kids, you know that they just my whole family's justice family.
- 49:54But like I've told the story before, I was driving in the
- 49:57truck and one of my sons was in the front seat too.
- 49:59My sons were in the back seat. And I just asked them, 'cause I,
- 50:02I'm overt with the, with our, I'm like, you guys can ask me
- 50:05anything. I'm going to be overt and honest
- 50:07with our kids. And I said, do you guys have any
- 50:09questions for Dad? First question, one of the sons
- 50:12behind me, first question, Dad, have you been faithful to our
- 50:15mom? He was like 10 or 12 or
- 50:16something. I was like, wow, yeah.
- 50:19But. Since.
- 50:21I went on a date. With their mom on March 12th,
- 50:241988. When I was 17, Even before I
- 50:27knew Christ. Every minute of every day, every
- 50:31decision was to answer that question.
- 50:34Yep. And I think men believe.
- 50:38They're above it, like their ministry.
- 50:40They're yeah. It's not something I'm going to
- 50:42struggle with. It's not going to happen to me.
- 50:43And IT it says in the Bible, Satan prowls around like a
- 50:47roaring lion, like coming to destroy you.
- 50:50And how many men have fallen to this very same thing?
- 50:54That's why the Bible says it so many times.
- 50:58Yeah. It's just, it's disgusting.
- 51:00And I think you get at the generational impact.
- 51:03If you made that decision, your sons are so much more likely to
- 51:06make that decision, not you in general, but just in general,
- 51:10when a father makes this short term decision, it destroys their
- 51:13kids. It destroys their legacy.
- 51:15Their daughters will marry somebody different because the
- 51:18father made this choice. So I'll ask you a bizarre.
- 51:20Question, Since I'm dominating a conversation, it would like if I
- 51:24had, you know, Ben Ashley, your wife, my daughter's pastor and
- 51:29father, and I cheated on her mom, do you think she would have
- 51:32ever married you? No, no.
- 51:34She saw so many bad men up in Seattle, so many evil pastors.
- 51:41She was, I think, had major trust issues of men in general.
- 51:45She trusted you and she had a high standard of men because of
- 51:48you and had some glimmer of hope that there'd be a guy that she
- 51:52could respect one day. It was a glimmer.
- 51:54It was that that had to be worked on.
- 51:56But if if you had done that, there's no chance she'd be
- 51:59married ever. I I believe she would be single
- 52:02the rest of her life. There'd be no indie.
- 52:05Oh gosh, I can't even think about that.
- 52:07I'll start. Crying.
- 52:08Yeah. I mean, yeah, there are
- 52:11grandkids. That are not going to be born
- 52:14into this world because of mistakes.
- 52:16Not mistakes. Sin like this.
- 52:19There are daughters that won't ever marry.
- 52:21There were kids that won't ever be born because of a short term
- 52:24decision you make and you ruin your entire legacy.
- 52:27You you, you were faithful, you wrote books, you had a 55 year
- 52:31marriage. All this stuff.
- 52:31You're going into your sunset years and you're in your 60s
- 52:35Sixty. Five, you're like, you know what
- 52:36sounds? Good.
- 52:37A girlfriend? What?
- 52:411 and in that too. And I'm not.
- 52:42Going to accuse him of anything but my question is.
- 52:47If you pull the. Pin on the grenade and swallow
- 52:50it at 65. Is that your first grenade you
- 52:52know? What I'm saying, no chance.
- 52:56Yeah, I, I don't know a lot of guys that are.
- 52:58You know, a lifetime of purity and it's 65 like today.
- 53:02After walking with the Lord faithfully my whole life and
- 53:05writing lots of books and being a deep student of the Bible,
- 53:09today's the day I pulled the pin and swallow the grenade.
- 53:13And so this is going to sound harsh, intense, judgmental, but
- 53:17profoundly helpful. There are two kinds of men.
- 53:20Men who cheat and men who don't. And men who cheat once.
- 53:24They usually don't just cheat once.
- 53:26Yep, 100%. Fully agree.
- 53:29And it's interesting he said that we're we're running into an
- 53:33issue where Christianity and and America were Christians are
- 53:37starting to look like the world and he's worse than the world.
- 53:41I mean to to hold the title pastor and teacher and to do
- 53:45these things, you're judged much more harshly than Trump will be.
- 53:48Trump very well could end up in heaven and God say well done,
- 53:51good and faithful servant and he'll end up there and get well.
- 53:55And when you're a when? You're a teacher when you're, so
- 53:57when you're a high level author for books and Christianity and
- 54:02stuff. So there's pastors that teach
- 54:04hundreds of people, and now you're teaching millions of
- 54:07people and you're teaching thousands, 10s of thousands of
- 54:11pastors. The level of influence comes
- 54:14with the level of responsibility 17,000,000.
- 54:17Copies sold. That's incredible in one sense
- 54:22and high responsibility in another.
- 54:24It's a really interesting. Time, particularly if you're
- 54:28looking for a place to invest your wealth to secure the

- 56:20next. Segment the church looking like
- 56:22the world and the world looking like the church we're seeing a
- 56:25whole age of influencers and athletes and actors profess
- 56:29their faith and in some sense it feels like it's a good thing and
- 56:34then then other senses there's question marks of should you be
- 56:38leading people? Should you be the one setting
- 56:39the example and one of the most viral videos online this last
- 56:43week was Lily Phillips. She's a only fans.
- 56:48They call it model more like a prostitute.
- 56:51She has done ridiculous things like sleep with elderly people.
- 56:57100 guys in one day. I think she got up to 1000 guys
- 57:00in one day. Just horrific evil.
- 57:03And this week, the most viral video on the Internet was this.
- 57:09Everything that. I've had.
- 57:21Awesome, she. Got baptized.
- 57:23The whole world's like, oh, well, this is what we've all
- 57:25been praying for. Immediately goes and does
- 57:28pornography the next day and then says, well, this is my
- 57:32second baptism and it really isn't going to impact my views
- 57:36on gay marriage, on abortion, on pornography, on doing this
- 57:40stuff. I just, I'm a Christian now.
- 57:44That does more harm than. Good.
- 57:45I would say it's so. Here's what the Bible says, and
- 57:50this is the problem with evangelicalism.
- 57:52The problem, well, there's so many problems with
- 57:54evangelicalism. The problem with evangelicalism
- 57:58is always do you believe in Jesus?
- 58:00And the Bible asks, do you, have you repented and believed?
- 58:05And the Bible says over and over repent and be baptized, repent,
- 58:11repent is the issue. When Martin Luther nailed the 95
- 58:16theses to the church door, Wittenberg had been there in
- 58:19Germany. That was considered sort of the
- 58:21the shattered around the world. That was the first domino that
- 58:24was pushed for the Protestant Reformation.
- 58:27And the first line of the 95 theses was this.
- 58:31All of a Christian's life is 1 of repentance.
- 58:34So the foundation of Protestant Christianity is repentance of
- 58:40sin. To become a Christian and to
- 58:43grow as a Christian all of your life, day one, get saved every
- 58:48day after repentance of sin. That's Christianity.
- 58:54And it's not just, hey, Jesus, I'm going to be like the
- 58:58elephants in the circus and I'm just going to walk around my
- 59:02life and take a dump and you're the clown that follows me around
- 59:06with the shovel and just picks up the mess that I leave.
- 59:10That's not Christianity. Jesus isn't a clown with a
- 59:14shovel following you around in the circus of your life.
- 59:18You repent, you change. You're not perfect, but there is
- 59:23a process. And in it you're making progress
- 59:26where you're not who you were, but you're changing and you're
- 59:30becoming more like who you will be when he raises you from the
- 59:34dead and you're perfected and the final version of you is
- 59:37unveiled. And so you know what?
- 59:39What Christianity is lacking is repentance.
- 59:43And, and here's why. Because of freaking seeker
- 59:46sensitive Christianity, which in one regard I understand, like
- 59:50let's welcome non Christians and make it hospitable.
- 59:54But what has happened then we've taken the gospel of Jesus Christ
- 59:57and we've turned it down to a marketing pitch.
- 1:00:00We've tried to determine, okay, if the seeker is the customer,
- 1:00:04how does the church become the business?
- 1:00:07And then the gospel become the message.
- 1:00:10And how do we create a business that the seeker feels welcome
- 1:00:13in? And then how do we construct a
- 1:00:15message that the consumer will, you know, ascribe to?
- 1:00:20And then what you end up with is what is called easy believism
- 1:00:24and man centered theology. And do you want to feel better?
- 1:00:28Do you want your life to have purpose?
- 1:00:30Do you want to do you want to have a higher self esteem?
- 1:00:33We'll just add Jesus to your life rather than repenting of
- 1:00:37your whole life and having Jesus be Lord over your life and reset
- 1:00:41your whole life. And so the, the lack of
- 1:00:44repentance, at least to a man centered theology, not a God
- 1:00:47centered theology and it leads to not a transformed life.
- 1:00:52And so part of the baptismal creed in the early church, it
- 1:00:55was, it was pretty wonderful. It they would ask you, do you
- 1:01:00renounce Satan and all of his works?
- 1:01:03They would ask you that before they would baptize you.
- 1:01:06That would be a really great question for this gal.
- 1:01:09Like, do you renounce Satan in all of his works?
- 1:01:11Because being a prostitute who is encouraging men to commit
- 1:01:17adultery in their heart and married men to really have some
- 1:01:21sick things going on in their mind.
- 1:01:23And if you messed up, just abort the baby.
- 1:01:25Yeah. And so, yeah, yeah, you're now
- 1:01:27you're. Encouraging homosexuality,
- 1:01:28abortion, pornography, lost adultery, Like like you need to
- 1:01:32renounce the devil in his works. That would be a really good
- 1:01:35question. And so it feels like we
- 1:01:38immediately. And I'm not defending her at
- 1:01:41all. It probably everybody's like,
- 1:01:43OK, she did this as a stunt. She's a bad person.
- 1:01:47I doubt it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:48I. I.
- 1:01:49I would to me as a pastor, I'm like who's baptized probably 100
- 1:01:53people. There's it's our responsibility.
- 1:01:56It's our. Responsibility.
- 1:01:57And there's probably. Some really bad teaching
- 1:01:59involved here and a pastor that was like, you know what'll help
- 1:02:03a lot? We baptize her.
- 1:02:05So let's tell her a version of the gospel that's not the
- 1:02:07gospel. But man, it'll, it'll, it'll get
- 1:02:10some views. It'll get some likes and I I
- 1:02:14don't know that the responsibility sits with the non
- 1:02:16Christian because she's a non Christian at this point.
- 1:02:18None of this stuff should. When?
- 1:02:19You're dealing with high profile celebrity people.
- 1:02:22In my opinion none of that should start on the Internet.
- 1:02:25No like as. Soon as Kanye said I.
- 1:02:27Met Jesus and all of a sudden we put him online.
- 1:02:30It's like, well, whether or not he's saved, let's disciple him.
- 1:02:34Let him mature privately offline.
- 1:02:37And if he ends up being a genuine Christian who doesn't
- 1:02:40sound like a complete idiot, maybe then we give him a mic.
- 1:02:43You. Know.
- 1:02:45Even the Apostle Paul, once he got saved, he disappeared for a
- 1:02:48few years and then he emerged and we let him talk.
- 1:02:52And so the, the problem here is with the leader, with the
- 1:02:56pastor. It's their responsibility.
- 1:02:58And what happens with people that have some really nefarious
- 1:03:02sin in their life. Sometimes they got a lot of
- 1:03:04guilt and shame and they're they get superstitious and they think
- 1:03:08like a little superstition will fix it.
- 1:03:10Like without getting too deep into the details, like I
- 1:03:14baptized prostitutes, porn stars, escorts, strippers, all
- 1:03:20of that. I've been doing this a long
- 1:03:21time. One of the first was a gal is a
- 1:03:24weird story. I was running a college ministry
- 1:03:27and then it ended up becoming a a brokeity broke late night
- 1:03:30Sunday night church plant and every week in the offering we
- 1:03:34had a wad of ones. This is not even a joke.
- 1:03:37Like covered in baby oil, wrapped with a rubber band and
- 1:03:42every. Week it was it.
- 1:03:44Was the same thing and we didn't, it was like 80 grand was
- 1:03:46the total income that whole year.
- 1:03:49And a like a percentage of it was baby oiled ones.
- 1:03:52It was, it was, it was unusual. And so, you know, finally I was
- 1:03:56like, where is this coming from? It was a gal won't say her name.
- 1:04:00She knows who she is. She was a stripper.
- 1:04:04And she was tithing. 10% off of her tips every week.
- 1:04:10OK, all money is the Lord's money, but that.
- 1:04:13Money is, yeah, I was, you know. Met with her, I think is Grace
- 1:04:17and I are female leader at the church.
- 1:04:19I mean, I met with her was like, tell me your story.
- 1:04:21She's like, well, I've been doing this and I've been coming
- 1:04:24to church and you know, I I, I met Jesus and so I'm tithing and
- 1:04:28I was like, OK, tell me about Jesus.
- 1:04:30She she really met Jesus, but she really didn't understand.
- 1:04:35Like she needed a new job. Yeah, And she was tithing.
- 1:04:38So she thought, well, my job's OK because I'm tithing off it.
- 1:04:42She's religious, She's spiritual, She's being
- 1:04:44superstitious. She's a new Christian.
- 1:04:46I was like, you got to get a new job.
- 1:04:48You can't, you can't, like you can't go to church.
- 1:04:51You can't do that on Saturday night and come to church on
- 1:04:53Sunday night. And I'm telling you, like, Jesus
- 1:04:56don't need 10% of that. And so we talked to her.
- 1:05:00And so she eventually said, you need to repent.
- 1:05:02And I told her, I said, I said, you need to be baptized.
- 1:05:06And she was living and sleeping with her boyfriend, who also
- 1:05:09became a Christian. And so I met with him.
- 1:05:11I said, you can't be living and sleeping together.
- 1:05:14You guys need to move out. You're a Christian now you need
- 1:05:16to repent. So they they did, they moved out
- 1:05:19and they stopped sleeping together.
- 1:05:20They stopped living together. And I told her, I said, you need
- 1:05:22to get a new job. And I said, if you guys are
- 1:05:25going to get married, I told him he was kind of a video game
- 1:05:27playing deadbeat. I said, you got to go get a real
- 1:05:30job. Need to marry her.
- 1:05:32If you guys want to have a family, you're going to need to
- 1:05:34be primary bread or like I laid it all out and he's like, OK.
- 1:05:38And I showed him in the Bible. We did Bible studies.
- 1:05:41He's like, I'm in, she's like, I'm in.
- 1:05:44So he he stopped smoking weed, sleeping with her, living with
- 1:05:47her, playing video games as an idiot and got activated, got a
- 1:05:52job. I think she got a job like
- 1:05:55coding video games. So we went from playing them to
- 1:05:57making them. There you go.
- 1:05:58Made good money. She quit her job and got a like
- 1:06:02a secretarial job, got a got a regular job.
- 1:06:05And she then would go back into the club, not during hours and
- 1:06:10she would meet with the girls and she brought them Bibles and
- 1:06:13shared her testimony and she started an evangelistic Bible
- 1:06:17study with the gals that were working at the club.
- 1:06:19She LED some of them to Christ and they left their job.
- 1:06:23And so eventually this couple got married and.
- 1:06:29They loved and served. Jesus.
- 1:06:30And it stuck years later, even when I left Seattle some years
- 1:06:34later, they were faithfully married.
- 1:06:37They loved the Lord. They had a Christian family
- 1:06:41because they were told, here's what a Christian life looks
- 1:06:46like. Not just do you want to be
- 1:06:49forgiven? Do you want to, do you want to
- 1:06:52go and sin no more. And so as a leader, we're going
- 1:06:56to meet people. As a pastor, we're going to meet
- 1:06:58people. That's where they are.
- 1:07:01Great. Let's meet them right where they
- 1:07:03are and let's give them the path forward.
- 1:07:06I think people are scared. They want to soften the gospel,
- 1:07:09and the gospel is the most transformative book in the
- 1:07:12history of the world. And it's shocking when you sit
- 1:07:15down with a girl like that and explain the gospel, that her
- 1:07:18heart could change and that she could move to Jesus and repent.
- 1:07:22But if she's not given that opportunity, oh, that's so sad.
- 1:07:26So there's a pastor who had a chance to share the gospel and
- 1:07:28he didn't. I mean she, it's not like she
- 1:07:31stopped doing porn for a month and then fell back into it.
- 1:07:34She immediately did and immediately said that none of
- 1:07:37her views changed. So there is no discipleship, no
- 1:07:40explanation of the gospel. And so I wouldn't say the
- 1:07:43responsibility falls in the non Christian.
- 1:07:44It's got to fall in the pastor. It has to fall in the pastor.
- 1:07:47And and in that as well, the pastor didn't love her because
- 1:07:53what he did, he baptized her, but he didn't help her because
- 1:07:59if she goes back to porn, sleeping with 1000 men in a day,
- 1:08:06literally, I mean, as a, as a dad who's got daughters this
- 1:08:10age, like her income stream is public trauma.
- 1:08:18So she pays her bills by enduring public sexual trauma.
- 1:08:23And the public sexual trauma is instant, constant, global,
- 1:08:27permanent. Once it's posted, the whole
- 1:08:31world can see it forever if you. Love a young woman.
- 1:08:35You don't want that for her. No, she's.
- 1:08:39She's Lexi's age. What?
- 1:08:41What would you tell her? I Would I.
- 1:08:44Would be bawling it it might now that I'm a dad and my my
- 1:08:49daughter's, you know, are of this age, I'd be like whatever.
- 1:08:53Trauma happened to you? Whatever abuse happened to you
- 1:08:56that caused you to think that this is your identity and that
- 1:09:01going forward, this is who you are.
- 1:09:04I'll, I'll, I'll tell you exactly what I would say.
- 1:09:07How much time we got. So I'll tell you a pastoral
- 1:09:11story. I didn't know where you're going
- 1:09:12to go her. So I started a college Bible
- 1:09:16study for punk rock kids when I was in my early 20s.
- 1:09:21And we were, we were absolute flat broken.
- 1:09:25All the kids were just, the guys were all addicted.
- 1:09:28The gals were all assault and trauma victims.
- 1:09:31I'll never forget there was a young woman came, she got fired
- 1:09:35from a job at Home Depot for having sex with four or five
- 1:09:38guys in the break room at the same time.
- 1:09:40Gosh. She was in she was in she.
- 1:09:43Was in my little church plant that started as a college
- 1:09:46ministry and I found out about this and I was like, I'm a
- 1:09:52young, I'm a young pastor. I didn't have a kid yet.
- 1:09:55I'm, I'm not even a dad yet. And so another female leader and
- 1:09:59I met with her and, and I grew up in a neighborhood with strip
- 1:10:03clubs and prostitutes and Green River Killer and Ted Bundy and,
- 1:10:09and some of the prostitutes in the neighborhood were gals that
- 1:10:11I went to high school with. And I knew so I would, I was, I
- 1:10:15was 15 or 16. I was, I was driving and I was
- 1:10:19down on this busy intersection where the prostitutes would get
- 1:10:23picked up next to the airport and somebody banged on the
- 1:10:25window in my car and I was looking to take a left.
- 1:10:28And it was like the passenger, I looked over and it was a, it was
- 1:10:32a gal. And my, my window was cracked.
- 1:10:34It wasn't down. And she was soliciting me for
- 1:10:37prostitution. It was a gal in my sociology
- 1:10:39class. Gosh.
- 1:10:43I looked at her and I. Said her name and she looked at
- 1:10:45me like this is where I grew up. So I knew these girls never did
- 1:10:50anything, never went to a club, never did anything because I
- 1:10:53knew these girls and I was broken hearted because I saw
- 1:10:55what they went through. So this, this gal in my church
- 1:11:00plant college thing met with her with another female leader and
- 1:11:05I, I was just shocked and devastated.
- 1:11:07I'm, I'm a brand new pastor. You know, I don't know what I'm
- 1:11:10doing. I said why do you do this?
- 1:11:13And she said I'm a dirty girl so I do dirty things.
- 1:11:17I'll never forget it my whole. And I asked her.
- 1:11:19I said who told you that? She said my grandfather.
- 1:11:27Gosh, she said he. Would abuse me and then he would
- 1:11:29tell me I make you do dirty things because you're a dirty
- 1:11:32girl. Gosh, I couldn't stop.
- 1:11:36Crying. I'm just I, I'm I at this point.
- 1:11:39I'm in my 20s. I'm like your age.
- 1:11:41I'm dying, I'm thinking this poor girl, she's her abuse
- 1:11:47became her identity and it was put on her by her grandpa.
- 1:11:51Just the most demonic, satanic, horrifying thing I can conceive
- 1:11:56of. So it got me studying a doctrine
- 1:12:01in the Bible called expiation. And so when it says in the
- 1:12:05Bible, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
- 1:12:08forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 1:12:13Justification is where our sins are forgiven, were declared
- 1:12:17righteous in the sight of God. Expiation is where we're
- 1:12:20cleansed from all of our unrighteousness.
- 1:12:24And this was depicted on Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement.
- 1:12:28They called it the day. And so it was the big day in
- 1:12:30Judaism. You had two goats that were
- 1:12:33sacrificed. There's a point to all of this.
- 1:12:35The first goat was the substitute.
- 1:12:37The second goat was the scapegoat.
- 1:12:39So the priest would confess the sins of the people over the
- 1:12:42first goat and slit its neck, and it would be slaughtered as a
- 1:12:47substitute for the forgiveness of sins.
- 1:12:49The second goat was the scapegoat.
- 1:12:51The priest would name the sins of the people and then send it
- 1:12:55away, and it would run off into the wilderness, and the people
- 1:12:58would cheer because their sins were taken away.
- 1:13:03And for most people. They know that they're forgiven,
- 1:13:06but they still think that they're dirty and unclean and
- 1:13:08defiled. So the Bible uses all these
- 1:13:11words of defilement, uncleanness, it says in Genesis
- 1:13:1734, it's the first overt reference to a sexual assault
- 1:13:22victim in the Bible. It says that Dinah was defiled.
- 1:13:27And so sin makes us unclean, dirty, defiled.
- 1:13:31And So what happens often times, particularly with a woman when
- 1:13:35she is sexually assaulted, defiled.
- 1:13:38The first thing that a rape victim usually does, in my
- 1:13:41experience as their pastor is they go take a shower and what
- 1:13:46they're. Looking for is.
- 1:13:47Cleansing not just of the body, but of the soul.
- 1:13:50Well, the soul can only get cleansed by the Holy Spirit.
- 1:13:53And so, you know, in the Bible, this is the cleansing power of
- 1:14:00the Holy Spirit to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 1:14:03This is where like in the Book of Revelation, it says that that
- 1:14:09in the end, when Jesus has the wedding supper of the lamb in
- 1:14:13Revelation 19 says that Jesus is the grim and the church is the
- 1:14:16bride. And it says that the bride wears
- 1:14:19white and. And and.
- 1:14:21It symbolizes not only is is the bride forgiven, but is made
- 1:14:26clean and is cleansed from all unrighteousness.
- 1:14:30And so I, I told this gal as I was, as I was meeting with her,
- 1:14:33I said, you're not just forgiven, you're clean.
- 1:14:38And your identity. Is not dirty like your grandpa
- 1:14:41said, it's clean like Jesus said, I said, so Jesus sees you
- 1:14:46as wearing white. You're a bride that gets to wear
- 1:14:49white and you get to wear white on your wedding day.
- 1:14:51And I, I was trying to get her to see her identity through
- 1:14:55Christ and through his work. And there's this beautiful for
- 1:14:58those that maybe want to study, I think it's in Zechariah 3.
- 1:15:01There's this profound prophetic image where there is, there is
- 1:15:07Jesus. He's prefigured.
- 1:15:10And it says that that he, he's, he's standing next to someone
- 1:15:15who's guilty. And it says that he takes all of
- 1:15:19their, their garments. They're just filthy.
- 1:15:21They're just covered in filth and sin and, you know, feces and
- 1:15:28just disgust. And he, he takes their outer
- 1:15:31robe off and Jesus puts it on himself.
- 1:15:36And then he's wearing pure clean white and he takes his outer
- 1:15:40robe off and he puts it on them and and that's the gospel that
- 1:15:45Second Corinthians 521 God made him who knew no sin to become
- 1:15:49sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
- 1:15:52Martin Luther called that the great exchange.
- 1:15:53So all of that to say, when you're dealing with gals like
- 1:15:56this usually. There's a profound.
- 1:15:59Trauma, there's a significant abuse and, or there's a sin that
- 1:16:04they have committed that is guilt and shame ridden and
- 1:16:07they've just adopted it as an identity.
- 1:16:10But there's something in them that still feels guilty and
- 1:16:14shameful and they're wanting to do something superstitious or
- 1:16:18they're wanting to do something religious to try and fix it, but
- 1:16:22they, they don't understand. And so then when the pastor is,
- 1:16:26well, I'll give you a religious ritual and you go back to your
- 1:16:30old identity and job. They have absolutely, completely
- 1:16:35failed to love and serve that woman.
- 1:16:38That that's what it feels like a.
- 1:16:39Total failure. It is a complete and it's a.
- 1:16:41And it is a complete and total failure because now I don't know
- 1:16:44how many million other women are watching that You had an
- 1:16:47opportunity to teach them all that there is forgiveness and
- 1:16:49cleansing in Jesus Christ, and you had an opportunity to then
- 1:16:53pound the nail to all the men who watch that.
- 1:16:56But if they claim Christ, what they're doing is adultery of the
- 1:17:00heart and they're perpetuating abuse of women.
- 1:17:03Yep, 100%. And then?
- 1:17:04I think most, the really sad part here is most Christians are
- 1:17:08going to attack her because she's doing pornography and
- 1:17:10these things. She's a non Christian.
- 1:17:12She was never discipled. She was never the gospel is
- 1:17:14never shared with her. So if you're going to attack
- 1:17:17anyone, attack this church and this pastor if he gave her the
- 1:17:20pulpit on the weekend. It would be his fault, not hers.
- 1:17:22Yep, 100%. 100% Well, thank you, Pastor Mark.
- 1:17:27I think that's a really good place to end it.
- 1:17:29A good word for young women that may be struggling with this, or
- 1:17:33I know that's what predators do, is they put shame and guilt on a
- 1:17:38young child and then that young child carries it the rest of
- 1:17:40their life. So I think that could be very
- 1:17:42healing. So thank you for that.
- 1:17:44And for those of you online, we just want to let you know Pastor
- 1:17:48Mark just dropped a brand new series, the Exodus series on the
- 1:17:5210 Commandments. This is going to include, we
- 1:17:54have sermons, we have a study guide, we have daily
- 1:17:57devotionals, and we have a new book that he's going to release
- 1:17:59chapter by chapter every single week.
- 1:18:01You're going to write it live. It's going to be awesome.
- 1:18:04And you can actually send questions and feedback and
- 1:18:07whatever you're thinking while he's writing this book and help
- 1:18:11shape some of the chapters. So if you text Moses to 99383,
- 1:18:16that's Moses to 99383. We'll send you a link to get the
- 1:18:19app and all of that is on there digitally.
- 1:18:21And when the book, when the series is done, there will be a
- 1:18:25complete book and that'll get published.
- 1:18:28So if you guys want to join in, we would love it.
- 1:18:30And if not, thanks for joining the Mark Driscoll Show today.
- 1:18:34See you later.
