- 0:26Speaker 2: Hi guys, Hello, Hi hye. Who is that.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Oh it's prop daddy, it's our buddy, it's our Blanche.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Oh, welcome back, James, thank you, thanks for having me back.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So good to see you guys.
- 0:45Speaker 5: What's uh? I mean? You were just telling us a
- 0:47Speaker 5: little bit before the show what's.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Going on, which is that you've got an exciting daddy you.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yes, yes, it is the Cinco de Mayo festival in Portland, Oregon,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and a buddy of mine who has an events company,
- 1:00Speaker 2: asked me to help join and help do like the
- 1:03Speaker 2: setup stuff, and then while the event is going, doing
- 1:06Speaker 2: some of the logistical things, crowd control, something greats fix
- 1:09Speaker 2: it and so yeah, the past few days have been
- 1:12Speaker 2: very active, and it's also kind of a blessing curse
- 1:17Speaker 2: thing because I'm surrounded by so much good food. It is, Yes,
- 1:23Speaker 2: it is so hard to not try to eat at
- 1:25Speaker 2: every single spot at all times during the day, so
- 1:29Speaker 2: I do so. Whenever I travel abroad, I try to
- 1:31Speaker 2: eat my way through a city, and I'm basically eating
- 1:36Speaker 2: my way through the festival right now. I just stop
- 1:38Speaker 2: at one stand, get a tacover to go to another
- 1:41Speaker 2: stand like an hour or two later, get a.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Taco to You need your booth fixed. That's gonna cost
- 1:45Speaker 6: you some food.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I'm like a mob boss with the food vendor.
- 1:50Speaker 5: What do you got?
- 1:52Speaker 3: You're like going around the world in Epcot right now,
- 1:56Speaker 3: but like just Mexico.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Stuck in that pavilion. Oh did you get any lote?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I had a cup of cord yesterday
- 2:09Speaker 2: and it was so good. A cup of corn.
- 2:13Speaker 6: Start your day off.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I got when he grabbed the bottle of mayo and
- 2:17Speaker 2: just straight up squeezed it like he was trying to
- 2:21Speaker 2: get rid of a small child, like like.
- 2:26Speaker 3: It was sorry in that scenario. In that scenario, was
- 2:35Speaker 3: the baby stuck in.
- 2:36Speaker 5: The bottle and he was clearing a clog?
- 2:38Speaker 3: Or was he shooting the baby like a fire hose
- 2:40Speaker 3: with the mayo?
- 2:41Speaker 2: What? What was the you know, I'm going to leave
- 2:43Speaker 2: that to the listener's imagination. Oh okay, like the late nineties,
- 2:50Speaker 2: early two thousands, dead baby just so inappropriate?
- 2:53Speaker 5: Oh God, Like, how do you make a dead baby float?
- 2:57Speaker 6: Oh?
- 2:59Speaker 3: Two scoops of dead baby in a little bit of
- 3:00Speaker 3: root beer?
- 3:05Speaker 6: That implies I already have them ground up and I
- 3:08Speaker 6: have a scoop.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Oh, you just take like a melon butler or an
- 3:12Speaker 3: ice cream scoop.
- 3:13Speaker 5: I get parma.
- 3:15Speaker 2: What's worse than a dead baby? Mm hmm a dead
- 3:18Speaker 2: baby in a blender? How do you get a dead
- 3:21Speaker 2: baby out of a blender? Oh, tortilla chips.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a lot of work. Anyone wants some, you
- 3:32Speaker 6: can finish this all.
- 3:34Speaker 2: So, as I was walking the festival grounds, one of
- 3:36Speaker 2: the vendors had a pastor on the vertical spit potato
- 3:43Speaker 2: girls with the pineapple on top. But amazing, so as
- 3:47Speaker 2: it's roasting, the pineapple juices go down into the meat.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I'd only ever seen that in Mexico, any of the
- 3:55Speaker 2: street vendors here in Portland, or even some of the restaurants, Like,
- 3:58Speaker 2: I don't see that.
- 4:00Speaker 6: You like, this is legit?
- 4:01Speaker 2: I want I saw that. I was like, I'm going there.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I want to eat all of it, like Kirby exactly.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And I only initially saw that one hot, But then
- 4:12Speaker 2: as you know, the day went on, I got to
- 4:14Speaker 2: see other vendors and things like that. There's at least
- 4:17Speaker 2: five different vendors.
- 4:18Speaker 6: That way and oh the same way, yes.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And I like, all right, more tacos for James.
- 4:25Speaker 6: We'll try them all and compare notes.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and at that time the festival is five days, I.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Can be the judge and let them give a little
- 4:34Speaker 4: blue ribbon to someone I should.
- 4:38Speaker 6: It's not even like say, this isn't sanctioned.
- 4:40Speaker 7: This is just me personally.
- 4:42Speaker 2: If James all your meat.
- 4:48Speaker 8: But that loud speaker, James has requested your meat.
- 4:54Speaker 4: James, we decided you're going to be topless with a
- 4:56Speaker 4: tool belt on, so they'll know where you'll have pl
- 5:00Speaker 4: he's running.
- 5:01Speaker 2: The only thing that gives me modesty is the screw
- 5:04Speaker 2: pouch in the front.
- 5:06Speaker 3: What I'm hearing is a Blanche's boudoir calendar. But like,
- 5:11Speaker 3: just James shirtless at his various jobs eating.
- 5:15Speaker 2: What I mean, gray wig feathered cereal.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Catch him off guard?
- 5:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all I ask is if you are doing
- 5:30Speaker 3: that at Triangle Productions, that don's barefoot somewhere just like
- 5:35Speaker 3: in the background.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Oh, always always trunking down hidden in the scene.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Yeah, It's like I don't even look anymore because I'm
- 5:45Speaker 3: sure he's barefoot, Like I used, like the first couple
- 5:47Speaker 3: of times I ever went to see a play at
- 5:49Speaker 3: at Triangle Productions, I was like, oh, that guy doesn't
- 5:53Speaker 3: have shoes on wild and like I don't even look
- 5:56Speaker 3: like I'm like, what's up?
- 5:58Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Hey, b Arthur famously, actually Don is not alone in
- 6:02Speaker 3: his brilliance on this.
- 6:03Speaker 5: B Arthur hated wearing shoes. It's the thing.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, And there's a lot of recording artists that prefer,
- 6:10Speaker 2: like when they're in the studio to know.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Is that because they don't want to pick up the
- 6:14Speaker 6: sound or.
- 6:17Speaker 5: I think just comfort?
- 6:20Speaker 2: They said that it's it makes them feel more grounded.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, hippie ship your listeners. Before we started
- 6:30Speaker 2: recording on this lovely episode, we were talking about crystals,
- 6:35Speaker 2: various shapes, that crystals can come in all sizes, shape, sizes.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Surprises, yeah, yeah, circumcises.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Look I well, I said, look, I'm a little bit
- 6:48Speaker 3: of a hippie. I'm not trying to shit on hippies
- 6:50Speaker 3: at all. But when I said hippie ship, it's because
- 6:53Speaker 3: during COVID I met my dear friend Meryl.
- 6:55Speaker 5: I love her.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I don't think she listens to this, but if she listens,
- 6:58Speaker 3: please don't get mad at me.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Story. But we went, uh, we.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Decided to go on an open air socially distanced, like
- 7:08Speaker 3: friend date during COVID and we met in this park
- 7:12Speaker 3: and she made me like take my shoes and socks
- 7:14Speaker 3: off and like wiggle my feet in the grass to
- 7:17Speaker 3: like get grounded. And then I have a little bit
- 7:20Speaker 3: of a grass I have a little bit of a
- 7:24Speaker 3: grass allergy if I like sit on it for too long.
- 7:27Speaker 3: So I brought like a towel, but she like she
- 7:30Speaker 3: had her hands on the grass and like we're doing
- 7:32Speaker 3: this whole thing, and like I'd follow Meryl into battle.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So I just went along with it because she's just
- 7:39Speaker 3: cute as a button and the nicest human.
- 7:41Speaker 5: But like, yeah, she's renfair.
- 7:46Speaker 3: She does like she's a what's a belly dancer and
- 7:52Speaker 3: like goes to that what is it Wastelander or whatever
- 7:56Speaker 3: that big Like what's that like the apocalyptic sort of
- 8:03Speaker 3: Mad Max teams Wastelander. It's a big festival. Yeah, anyway,
- 8:10Speaker 3: so that's that's that's her, and so that's why I
- 8:12Speaker 3: was like, that's that's some hippie ship that like you
- 8:15Speaker 3: need your feet to feel the earth thrown.
- 8:17Speaker 2: To Like that said, I do love the phrase of
- 8:19Speaker 2: like go touch grass or touch some grass.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Huge that I'm not against the ground. I'm not against
- 8:30Speaker 3: I just like I don't ever think of things like
- 8:33Speaker 3: that on my own. Like my parents were eighties, like
- 8:38Speaker 3: upper middle class parents, Like, so we weren't those people.
- 8:46Speaker 3: What aren't you The swimming pool we paid for it
- 8:49Speaker 3: was that kind of.
- 8:50Speaker 6: Ship like play with that skip We got this in
- 8:53Speaker 6: for you.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Use it, god, skip it.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Skippets are dangerous.
- 8:57Speaker 6: You knock that into your shin in it earth, So
- 9:00Speaker 6: we bought that for you.
- 9:03Speaker 5: I have.
- 9:06Speaker 3: If we have time, I have a small indulgence story.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Okay, So Brittany.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Real Brittany Snow who I of like pitch Perfect and stuff.
- 9:19Speaker 3: She was in the Would You Rather film that I
- 9:22Speaker 3: worked on. It was a horror film, and so I
- 9:24Speaker 3: got to spend a lot of time with her. And
- 9:26Speaker 3: we were cleaning ants out of her pink Jan sport
- 9:29Speaker 3: backpack one day because she set it down. We were
- 9:32Speaker 3: in like a house that was like for filming, and
- 9:34Speaker 3: so it was like not occupied and the basement was dirt,
- 9:38Speaker 3: and so she set her backpack down and ran up
- 9:40Speaker 3: to set. So anyways, we're just there. Just imagine more
- 9:43Speaker 3: like disgusted and cleaning ants out of a backpack and
- 9:47Speaker 3: I don't know how it came up, but she said, yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 3: you know, you know, I was the spokesperson for Skippet,
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I was like what she was like, I was
- 9:55Speaker 3: the little girl and like some of the commercials, and
- 9:57Speaker 3: they sent the skippet to my house and I had
- 10:00Speaker 3: like a ship ton of skippets and I had to
- 10:02Speaker 3: like practice because they didn't want me to look bad.
- 10:05Speaker 3: So she's like, I got it. She got it first
- 10:07Speaker 3: and then had to practice with them so that she
- 10:10Speaker 3: didn't look like ship on TV.
- 10:13Speaker 5: But she was like I had so many of them.
- 10:15Speaker 6: Like the.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Why why would I need so many? But yeah, anyway,
- 10:21Speaker 3: so that's.
- 10:22Speaker 6: That's pretty awesome, right.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I was like, how wild that they're like bru toy?
- 10:28Speaker 5: Yeah, figure it out.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Shattered my ankle like a little like how many times
- 10:35Speaker 2: you skipped it around?
- 10:36Speaker 6: Yeah the counter ye.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I to just like swing it and fake.
- 10:41Speaker 3: It, but like a lot, you know, it really hurt
- 10:45Speaker 3: when it hit your ankle, like a lot of.
- 10:48Speaker 6: Yeah, fat eighties kids jumping.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, like with those moon shoes. I never had them,
- 11:00Speaker 2: and my fitness based it's just like you.
- 11:03Speaker 6: Bust your ankles.
- 11:05Speaker 3: No, Remember, there was a I don't know what it
- 11:08Speaker 3: was called there was a plastic ball that looked like
- 11:11Speaker 3: Saturn that you were supposed to put your feet on
- 11:13Speaker 3: either side of it.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and I looked like it would kill you.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah that I almost always like if you weren't paying attention.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I almost always feel like I fell off or like
- 11:24Speaker 3: step inside, like don't die.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Balance pogo sticks were fucked.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I never exactly where my mind was with like the
- 11:33Speaker 2: like side spring tubes.
- 11:34Speaker 6: I could never get those.
- 11:35Speaker 5: I never got good at stick.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I didn't own any of these. These were all like
- 11:40Speaker 2: neighborhood kids had these.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Yeah, me too.
- 11:45Speaker 2: My toys were like hot wheels or like.
- 11:47Speaker 6: My friend's the power wheels, and they wouldn't let me
- 11:50Speaker 6: ride it. It's like, well now I'm too big.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I've not seen this anywhere since I was a child.
- 11:56Speaker 2: But it was a power strike.
- 11:58Speaker 5: That's cool.
- 11:59Speaker 3: This is I repurchased this. But that was my first
- 12:04Speaker 3: micro machine I ever got. And then I needed some
- 12:07Speaker 3: micro machines to make our season two winners trophy our yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 3: season two winners.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Nope, it was for A and E.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I needed a gold micro machine car for a different podcast,
- 12:19Speaker 3: and so I bought a lot of micro machines and
- 12:23Speaker 3: in that lot was this car, and I was like,
- 12:25Speaker 3: that's the first one I ever had.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Anyway, It's on my work monitor now because why.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Not Elgia nugget.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Two thirds of the cast of Bluey is on my
- 12:37Speaker 3: monitor as well. It's it's out of control up here, guys?
- 12:41Speaker 6: Is that out of control?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Control? That's probably gonna be my life later today.
- 12:48Speaker 6: No, you're gonna have gurgly l pastor tummy.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Oh man? Okay. I love Javin Niaro's. And one of
- 12:58Speaker 2: the stands that I got talked about yesterday had this
- 13:01Speaker 2: amazing hobb andyaro Saul So that tasted real good. That's
- 13:06Speaker 2: kind of revenge.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Spicy coming out.
- 13:09Speaker 6: Oh oh is it only port there though?
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yes? Yeah, And so I don't.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Eat anything, don't risk it. I don't even have to
- 13:24Speaker 6: pee last night.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You know that thing where you're like your body under pressure,
- 13:29Speaker 2: where you started like, oh, I should probably use the
- 13:32Speaker 2: rest one I'm like eight eight thirty, and I was like, no, no,
- 13:40Speaker 2: this is not happening. I'm not gonna willed it away.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I did.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Oh wow, I wouldn't ship my pants.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I wouldn't have been able to.
- 13:49Speaker 2: My calves are decently sore right now. Because to kind
- 13:52Speaker 2: of distract myself. I just kept walking because I got.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Some keep walking, just keep walking.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Walking, walk walking, walking, walking with it. Oh my god,
- 14:03Speaker 2: that food's so good. And I got a tro with
- 14:06Speaker 2: Belgian cream inside of it. And then they put sweetened
- 14:09Speaker 2: condensed milk over the top like a drizzle and.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Right like ejaculate, so it looked like.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It looked like a Belgian cream field comestick.
- 14:19Speaker 6: And then when you got home, you just started bathroom ya.
- 14:23Speaker 2: As soon as I got home, I made you.
- 14:25Speaker 6: And me date with destiny toilet.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just eye contact with the rim of.
- 14:33Speaker 6: I'm gonna have to wash you.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I enjoy the street tros at it like that I've
- 14:39Speaker 3: gotten in Mexico the times I've been there, where they
- 14:42Speaker 3: have like the hot caramel inside, then they have the
- 14:46Speaker 3: sweetened condensed milk also looks like a big cum soak dick.
- 14:50Speaker 3: But like I like the cara, never had the like
- 14:54Speaker 3: the cream inside. I mean, I've had It's okay, let's.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Move on, listeners, take that in.
- 15:02Speaker 4: If you'd like to share with Aaron your cream in side,
- 15:05Speaker 4: please contact on the LUNAI had gmail.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Thing of spicy meat. I am for myself. Later today,
- 15:12Speaker 3: I have thrown some leftover sukiyaki thinly sliced beef in
- 15:18Speaker 3: some homemade from scratch tie beef salad salad dressing, and
- 15:23Speaker 3: that's marinating and I'm gonna gently like cook that in
- 15:27Speaker 3: a pan and make.
- 15:28Speaker 5: A tye beef salad.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Going to show me no because it'll burn your little tiny.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Buttole out, I don't care. It is. Yeah, I made
- 15:38Speaker 5: it real spicy.
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah, she'll get some white rice or something.
- 15:43Speaker 5: Abby and I are barely on speaking terms.
- 15:45Speaker 9: Oh no.
- 15:46Speaker 3: In fact, I at this point I want to say
- 15:49Speaker 3: that since I have met James's dog, I think I
- 15:52Speaker 3: prefer James's dog currently.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Wow happy.
- 15:57Speaker 2: She just so shady, like Aaron was so sweet and
- 16:00Speaker 2: it was just like I just want to be your friend,
- 16:02Speaker 2: and she's just like I'm afraid of you.
- 16:05Speaker 5: She was.
- 16:06Speaker 3: She was like, it's the Homer Simpson bush thing, but
- 16:11Speaker 3: like a cute little dog.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no, you do.
- 16:16Speaker 3: You can the most beautiful coloring on your dog.
- 16:21Speaker 5: She is so.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Absolutely gorgeous and then like you try to be like, oh,
- 16:26Speaker 2: you're so beautiful, and then she'll sit in the car
- 16:28Speaker 2: and just give you harsh sight. I like, do not
- 16:30Speaker 2: touch me.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Oh cool, So I just haven't seen that she's a
- 16:34Speaker 3: bitch like Abby.
- 16:35Speaker 6: It got it, don't touch me.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I just want to share my mental image that I had.
- 16:42Speaker 2: So have all of you seen Team America? Fuck?
- 16:46Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Okay, So there's that scene where he's vomiting the alleyway
- 16:52Speaker 2: and then like there's air in the lines, and just
- 16:54Speaker 2: like that was your butthole, that was Abby's butt after
- 17:01Speaker 2: eating spice. That's where my mind went, And it's all
- 17:06Speaker 2: I could think about was shaking.
- 17:09Speaker 6: Picture fire coming out.
- 17:12Speaker 3: And she'd be like and just for the record, she'd
- 17:15Speaker 3: be mad at me the whole time too, Like I
- 17:17Speaker 3: would have been like, Babe, I don't feel like you
- 17:19Speaker 3: should eat this, and she would be.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Like I need it, and then she'd be mad at me.
- 17:28Speaker 2: She propelling herself into space.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Did you get to.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Meet her in person?
- 17:33Speaker 4: James, No, Yett, We'll go somewhere like taking it slowly,
- 17:38Speaker 4: guess next time.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I'm trying to not introduce Abby to new people in
- 17:44Speaker 3: case she dies. I've already made enough people, sad like, realistically.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Group of people.
- 17:50Speaker 3: No, I don't mean Jesus.
- 17:53Speaker 5: She has had a lot of uncles. She's only had.
- 17:58Speaker 3: One dad ever, which was my ex that like, we
- 18:02Speaker 3: lived together for years and then one set of other grandparents.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Ause me, did dad come back with his cigarettes?
- 18:09Speaker 3: No, baby girl, Mommy through dad out.
- 18:14Speaker 6: Okay, trash.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That garbage bag made a really loud thud, and.
- 18:23Speaker 6: Garbage band is an owl.
- 18:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Plus we all know hydrogen pteroxide gets blood out of anything,
- 18:30Speaker 3: so Abby, we know how to cover that ship up.
- 18:34Speaker 2: You worry.
- 18:35Speaker 4: I feel like this is going to be played on
- 18:37Speaker 4: a true crime podcast now and then Aaron gave up
- 18:41Speaker 4: all her secrets.
- 18:43Speaker 3: That's my next new podcast, of course, outline.
- 18:48Speaker 5: The murder of Abby.
- 18:50Speaker 3: It'll be a whole true crime series.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I'm just kidding. I couldn't. That's the thing. I have
- 18:56Speaker 5: too much empathy for her.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Tiny had the naughty But no, next time we go
- 19:02Speaker 3: some tiny knife. Next when you're done being a prisoner
- 19:08Speaker 3: of the food court and we go out again, maybe
- 19:11Speaker 3: we'll go somewhere outside since it's getting nicer, and I'll
- 19:14Speaker 3: bring her in her stroller and you can see the
- 19:16Speaker 3: little trash faced dog.
- 19:18Speaker 2: That's the other thing about this is like, yes, these
- 19:20Speaker 2: are some long days. I'm very tired. I'm outside and
- 19:25Speaker 2: it's like beautiful weather, absolutely gorgeous. I'm eating good food,
- 19:30Speaker 2: Like it's hard to complain.
- 19:31Speaker 3: We're uh and by we're I am taking Abby and
- 19:35Speaker 3: I on like a little picnic.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Later We're gonna go.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Out to one of the nature areas and just like
- 19:41Speaker 3: sit and have a little I'm gonna take I have
- 19:44Speaker 3: grape uncrustables. I'm gonna take it grape uncrustable and some water.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I'll bring her like a little food or something, and
- 19:52Speaker 3: I'm just gonna go sit and soak up the sun
- 19:54Speaker 3: and nature.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So those prepackaged like charcooterie board things that you can
- 19:57Speaker 2: get at like Fred Myers.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I do like the but I don't have any in
- 20:01Speaker 3: my fridge at this time, so then i'd have to
- 20:03Speaker 3: make a stop.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Those are my Either I want to have a picnic
- 20:07Speaker 2: or I'm floating on the river snacks. It doesn't want
- 20:10Speaker 2: river charcouterie.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Oh my god, will you float with me this summer?
- 20:15Speaker 5: I have a tube and everything.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I've got a couple of tubes. I've got
- 20:19Speaker 2: one of those floating coolers. It holds like those are
- 20:21Speaker 2: the best two or three cases of beer. Like it's ridiculous.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I mean I just put beer there, I put you know, water,
- 20:31Speaker 2: I mean it's.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Like mostly beer though, right, So what you like?
- 20:34Speaker 4: Lash it to your thing you're floating on and it
- 20:36Speaker 4: floats along with you.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's like a rectangle shape. It's got a
- 20:40Speaker 2: decent footprint, so when you hit mild rappids and stuff,
- 20:43Speaker 2: it doesn't flip over like it's my beer. I'm a
- 20:49Speaker 2: I'm a Seltzer guy on the river. Oh that sounds nice.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I have no preference for like what I drink. I've
- 20:58Speaker 3: only floated the river twice since moved up here, and
- 21:01Speaker 3: it's been down and bend. And one of the two times,
- 21:03Speaker 3: I beached myself and I looked like Shamoo on the
- 21:06Speaker 3: shelf at Sea World because we were going down some
- 21:09Speaker 3: rapids and one section of it had like a drop
- 21:14Speaker 3: with a bigger rock, but it was underwater so you
- 21:16Speaker 3: couldn't see it. And so my fat ass got to
- 21:19Speaker 3: that point and I was like, well, I live here now,
- 21:22Speaker 3: and people were trying to help me, and it was
- 21:24Speaker 3: a lot like when I fell in Colorado Springs and
- 21:30Speaker 3: I was like, just leave me on this one man
- 21:35Speaker 3: wouldn't like let me die. My friends like had we
- 21:38Speaker 3: had come untethered from each other at that point, and
- 21:41Speaker 3: so they kept like they had to pull off to
- 21:44Speaker 3: the side and like go over and wait, and I
- 21:49Speaker 3: was like, I said to leave me. And then we
- 21:51Speaker 3: hiked up the hell and we went again, but like
- 21:53Speaker 3: I was more careful when we got to that spot
- 21:56Speaker 3: as not to be on like the far left by
- 21:58Speaker 3: the like waterfall.
- 22:00Speaker 7: The fact it.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Is one of my so I like to make just
- 22:03Speaker 2: random noises anyways, but it's my favorite thing, like if
- 22:05Speaker 2: I hit a rapid or if I like fall out
- 22:07Speaker 2: of my tube to just be like whoa, and but
- 22:14Speaker 2: I usually float. It's on the clockamis here.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, my the show Gina is on that
- 22:22Speaker 3: I'm on on Tuesdays. Every time John reads uh clackamis yep, yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Says it weird.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I try to hell it's like you need to
- 22:33Speaker 4: yell it clack clackamus.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Also he says will lamb it wrong, like every time
- 22:41Speaker 3: he says willamette almost every time.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's written, well damn it, will lamb it
- 22:49Speaker 4: that is right.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I have not heard that one.
- 22:52Speaker 5: A good way to remember it's made it up. There
- 22:55Speaker 5: you go.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Well, hey listeners, thanks for listening to us. Have a
- 23:00Speaker 3: hell of a good time. We should get into this
- 23:03Speaker 3: beautiful two part journey.
- 23:05Speaker 5: We're headed down.
- 23:07Speaker 7: Exciting.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah, like two parts.
- 23:11Speaker 6: This is a a clip show. Friends didn't work.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I don't know why I tried it that way today.
- 23:20Speaker 5: It's not how I normally even do it.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Tried again, Babe?
- 23:26Speaker 5: That was better? Not great? Much better?
- 23:29Speaker 3: What what does the fund.
- 23:36Speaker 5: No?
- 23:37Speaker 3: It's fine. Sorry, please, we hope you're still listening, Gina.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Take it away.
- 23:41Speaker 4: This is season three episode eighteen and nineteen, Golden Moments,
- 23:48Speaker 4: Parts one and two. It originally aired as one original
- 23:53Speaker 4: air date February thirteenth, nineteen eighty eight. Directed by Terry Hughes,
- 23:57Speaker 4: written by mort Nathan Very Narrow.

- 24:04Speaker 6: will be about?
- 24:06Speaker 10: Peeing golden showers, tinca asparagus?
- 24:19Speaker 6: I think James is right.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Golden Moments, Uh there, Willy Wonka fetish finally comes to
- 24:29Speaker 2: the surface and they get that golden ticket.
- 24:32Speaker 6: Sure, why not?
- 24:32Speaker 7: It's perfect?
- 24:36Speaker 5: What do you think Christen Golden?
- 24:38Speaker 7: All the awards that the ladies have won throughout the
- 24:41Speaker 7: years on the show, whether it be the Saint Olaf,
- 24:47Speaker 7: Queen Princess Thing, or et cetera, all their achievements.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Kristen, you're nervous right now about the quiz right because
- 24:56Speaker 3: these are cur relative.
- 24:59Speaker 2: No, because I got this.
- 25:02Speaker 5: No, I saw you because I saw you searching for.
- 25:05Speaker 3: The name of the san Ola thing, which I, truthfully
- 25:08Speaker 3: I don't even know. And I was like, oh, no,
- 25:09Speaker 3: you're trying to pull names out of your head. Oh,
- 25:12Speaker 3: I just I'm just tired, bitch.
- 25:16Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 25:19Speaker 6: We're gonna We're gonna do a mad lips. There's a
- 25:21Speaker 6: little different.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Kids, We're trying something new.
- 25:26Speaker 6: Also, deal with it.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I like change management so much at work. I'm trying
- 25:32Speaker 3: it on our podcast.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Not just for college. Yeah, trying new things later in life. Fingers,
- 25:43Speaker 2: three fingers, take that as you will.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Oh, no, I got it.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I just three fingers a whiskey maybe, yeah, we all
- 25:55Speaker 2: we all know that's what I meant. Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 6: I think James woke up.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Good because he's alive.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I was just taking a lip class break. All right,
- 26:06Speaker 3: what else you got for us?
- 26:07Speaker 5: Anything else? You know?
- 26:09Speaker 6: Yil Y'll go watch it?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Hey, uh, there's some really rad commercials coming up that
- 26:16Speaker 3: you're gonna fucking love. Bye bye.
- 26:21Speaker 9: Hey you there, We've got a question for you. Are
- 26:24Speaker 9: you tired of clickbait stories and the loudest voices driving
- 26:27Speaker 9: discussions and culture and entertainment. If so, I'm Dylan, I'm Kendall,
- 26:32Speaker 9: and I'm Corey, and we.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Host the podcast From the Middle.
- 26:36Speaker 11: We're middle class guys living in the middle of America,

- 27:15Speaker 9: or check us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Feel bad, Yes, we feel bad. James has to work
- 27:25Speaker 6: instead of hang out with us.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to work, bang.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Well, welcome back, Welcome back. I think I promised not
- 27:40Speaker 3: to sing on something I was on the other day.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Oh, we broke that ship.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, we did rose Pedal Place on uh Bill
- 27:48Speaker 3: and I's show, and I sang some of the songs
- 27:55Speaker 3: for argue that everybody, It's still it was still a
- 28:01Speaker 3: fantastic soundtrack by Maria Osman or like sung by Maria Allsman,
- 28:05Speaker 3: of course.
- 28:06Speaker 6: Was that nice?
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Yeah, James, I feel oh sorry, No, you're fine, James.
- 28:12Speaker 6: You feel all caught up now that you saw a
- 28:14Speaker 6: bunch of clips.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So caught up now. I'm kind of curious though, are
- 28:19Speaker 2: these clips from other episodes or did they do like
- 28:22Speaker 2: how sometimes sitcoms will just like take ten minutes or
- 28:25Speaker 2: whatever re costume redress.
- 28:29Speaker 3: These are no, these were legit clips from clips from
- 28:33Speaker 3: seasons one, two, and three.
- 28:35Speaker 2: That is fantastic, Yeah, because I was thinking about that
- 28:39Speaker 2: the whole time. I was like, okay, so these are
- 28:41Speaker 2: either yeah, like the redress thing, or actual clips, which
- 28:45Speaker 2: for fans of the show that's going to be like,
- 28:47Speaker 2: oh nostalgic. I get to like see these little bubbles
- 28:49Speaker 2: of things. But because of my experience with the show
- 28:53Speaker 2: where I actually have not seen a bunch of it,
- 28:56Speaker 2: a lot of that was fresh.
- 28:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 2: One that wasn't fresh was the Herring story because that
- 29:01Speaker 2: something I loved it. Oh yeah, it pops up in
- 29:06Speaker 2: my like algorithm all the time of the Golden Girls,
- 29:11Speaker 2: look at them breaking character.
- 29:15Speaker 7: War.
- 29:15Speaker 3: I've probably sent that also to you. To be honest,
- 29:18Speaker 3: I share that a lot, like.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's but it's everyone at James sharing houses.
- 29:26Speaker 2: And the same clip please oh for good. As a performer,
- 29:34Speaker 2: there's genuine joy in that moment. It's fun to watch
- 29:37Speaker 2: and it's fun to also like connect with just like,
- 29:40Speaker 2: oh yeah, I get that too.
- 29:42Speaker 6: As an audience, I love when they break character do it.
- 29:47Speaker 5: I love I love that on Saturday Live. Dude, like that.
- 29:49Speaker 3: It's not like it doesn't have to be a sitcom.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Like I love seeing that someone is so into.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Their joke that they're having so much fun they.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Can hold it together.
- 29:59Speaker 5: Oh it's so good.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Plus as a bad actor, I think I'm a good actor,
- 30:05Speaker 3: but as a bad fellow actor. When I would be
- 30:09Speaker 3: in shows, like I did a lot of stuff through college,
- 30:13Speaker 3: Like Out of Back College was a community college near me,
- 30:16Speaker 3: and I did built props for them, and then I
- 30:18Speaker 3: did all their kids theater shows and we had to
- 30:20Speaker 3: do like sixty seven shows and like four weeks or
- 30:25Speaker 3: something because they were like done for children over the summer,
- 30:28Speaker 3: and it was like all day doing plays. We made
- 30:32Speaker 3: like one hundred dollars for sixty seven shows, so we
- 30:34Speaker 3: did the math one time hourly at like the sad
- 30:37Speaker 3: amount of money we made. But in that it became
- 30:41Speaker 3: very important to me to do what happened to me
- 30:44Speaker 3: when So this is such a terrible story. I'm sorry,
- 30:47Speaker 3: I'm telling this poorly. In a high school, I went
- 30:50Speaker 3: to Greece, not Greece, the country Grease the play with
- 30:53Speaker 3: John Sakata at the time, because they were just throwing
- 30:56Speaker 3: any celebrity in to get it to stay open on Broadway.
- 31:00Speaker 3: And the people in the chorus were so fucking bored
- 31:02Speaker 3: that they started talking to me because we happened to
- 31:05Speaker 3: be in the front row, and this sexy chorus boy
- 31:07Speaker 3: who had no idea I was like in high school,
- 31:10Speaker 3: was chatting me up. And I became that person in
- 31:14Speaker 3: these shows at Saddleback College where I was like talking
- 31:17Speaker 3: to other people or kids in the audience because I
- 31:19Speaker 3: was just like I could fucking play these parts.
- 31:22Speaker 5: In my fucking sleep.
- 31:23Speaker 3: At this point, I hate this show and I was
- 31:28Speaker 3: a terrible actor, so I would try to like make
- 31:30Speaker 3: other people laugh, like across the stage.
- 31:33Speaker 5: I'd be like.
- 31:36Speaker 3: And just like make crazy. That was a face for
- 31:39Speaker 3: those of you listening at home, and it was great.
- 31:41Speaker 3: But I would do whatever I could to like crack
- 31:43Speaker 3: my coat, hosts up. If there weren't children or like
- 31:46Speaker 3: teachers or parents I could talk to because there was
- 31:50Speaker 3: a lot of downtime.
- 31:51Speaker 4: You would just talk to them during the performance because
- 31:55Speaker 4: there was Hey, how's it going.
- 31:57Speaker 6: Nice seats you got because.
- 31:59Speaker 3: There was Yeah, there was a it was like a situation.
- 32:05Speaker 3: I wouldn't do it now, but like as as a teenager,
- 32:08Speaker 3: I was like, I don't fucking give.
- 32:10Speaker 5: A shit about this anymore.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Like I gotta sit in this little pop out cutout
- 32:14Speaker 3: like window anyway, whatever, you know what, I want to
- 32:18Speaker 3: see video.
- 32:19Speaker 6: Of this Saron talking and Danny Zuko is like, hey,
- 32:24Speaker 6: can you keep it down?
- 32:25Speaker 2: Like if I was doing like some I don't know,
- 32:28Speaker 2: I guess more professional production and like one of my
- 32:30Speaker 2: co co stars was you know, fucking off like that,
- 32:33Speaker 2: then yeah, I probably be like, well that's not that's
- 32:36Speaker 2: not above board. But I love messing with my fellow
- 32:39Speaker 2: actors on stage, and I love it when they mess
- 32:41Speaker 2: with me. I'm here for it because to me when
- 32:45Speaker 2: it challenges your technique and it challenges you as a
- 32:47Speaker 2: performer to keep it together. And like when you do
- 32:51Speaker 2: the same show over and over again, oftentimes it can
- 32:54Speaker 2: get a little stale or a little dry, and like,
- 32:56Speaker 2: doing these things keeps it super fresh and it actually
- 33:00Speaker 2: helps you do your job better because it keeps you
- 33:02Speaker 2: more engaged and grounded in the material. I love it.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I absolutely love it. I did a production of How
- 33:11Speaker 2: I Learned to Drive, which for listeners at home, if
- 33:14Speaker 2: you don't know that show, it's recently dark material. It's
- 33:18Speaker 2: about how an uncle teaches his knees how to drive,
- 33:21Speaker 2: but in the course of doing so, he touches her inappropriately.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Oh god, yeah, yeah, so dark material, but it's told
- 33:29Speaker 2: as like a dark like there's moments in the show
- 33:33Speaker 2: that have dark comedy or straight up almost borderline slapstick,
- 33:38Speaker 2: and so it's gives you or initiates the conversation without
- 33:42Speaker 2: kind of like hounding the audience with it. And there's
- 33:47Speaker 2: a couple of moments, like there's a high school dance
- 33:50Speaker 2: scene and so it's me and one of my co
- 33:51Speaker 2: stars were dancing, and so anytime one of us had
- 33:54Speaker 2: our back to the audience, we were like making faces
- 33:57Speaker 2: or just like straight up fucking with the other person
- 33:59Speaker 2: that we're dancing with, and you know it's high school dancer.
- 34:01Speaker 2: We're awkwardly dancing with each other on purpose, you like
- 34:05Speaker 2: leave room for christ straight up, Like I had my
- 34:11Speaker 2: back to the audience and I just like gently blew
- 34:13Speaker 2: in my coast and she she was trying so hard
- 34:18Speaker 2: to keep it together. As soon as we go, She's like, James,
- 34:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna fucking murder the same thing because I love
- 34:30Speaker 2: heart noises, so straight up. She was like right next
- 34:33Speaker 2: to me, and she's like, there's something I need to
- 34:34Speaker 2: tell you, because we're all like supposed to be having
- 34:36Speaker 2: these like quote unquote private conversations. So she just leaned
- 34:39Speaker 2: over and made a part sound in my ear. And
- 34:41Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be like grandpa or something like super serious,
- 34:44Speaker 2: and it's just like nice.
- 34:51Speaker 6: That would I struggle with that.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I'd be like, I'm now going to find out every
- 34:55Speaker 3: play that James auditions for, and I'm an audition with
- 34:59Speaker 3: the hopes that we can with each other on stage.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Hell yes, you know, in all my free time, okay, r.
- 35:11Speaker 6: Four minutes a month.
- 35:12Speaker 2: This episode literally so enjoyable. To watch and there's just
- 35:16Speaker 2: like so many great one liners.
- 35:19Speaker 6: Oh I love that.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Yeah, glad that you were a guest for this.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to have a conversation with the makeup
- 35:27Speaker 2: artists this one, because across the board what.
- 35:31Speaker 4: Happened very Sophia had it was so different enough was rough, it.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Was well and two of the clips from that from
- 35:41Speaker 3: this clip show came from see from episode one, and
- 35:47Speaker 3: so it was almost like a pilot, like there were
- 35:50Speaker 3: different furniture and someone to say.
- 35:52Speaker 5: No eyebrows.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Her glasses were not her glasses. They were these like
- 35:57Speaker 3: square things.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't just though there's that one scene with
- 36:01Speaker 2: Blanche then I mentioned I was just like, what is
- 36:04Speaker 2: with Blanche's makeup?
- 36:06Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 36:08Speaker 3: That was That was a Mary kay I by the way,
- 36:10Speaker 3: I can tell you for certain because it had the
- 36:14Speaker 3: It had the browbone highlight, the darker in the crease,
- 36:17Speaker 3: and then a complimentary lighter shade on the lid. So
- 36:22Speaker 3: likely whoever did their makeup had at some point also
- 36:28Speaker 3: known how or taken a Mary Kay like intro course,
- 36:31Speaker 3: because it was that was the I of the eighties
- 36:35Speaker 3: and nineties.
- 36:36Speaker 5: It's falling dark crease.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Aaron, your makeup master at home where the Mary Kay
- 36:42Speaker 4: I and send it to on the linna's email.
- 36:45Speaker 6: Yeah, just kidding, Get a box of eyeballs. This is
- 36:49Speaker 6: Mary Kay and this was a rise. Oh god, oh god?
- 36:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 37:03Speaker 6: Why are they two different colors?
- 37:06Speaker 3: I shook come from.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Two different marriage? Oh? Fuck?
- 37:13Speaker 3: Well, And I can also tell you that I'm reasonably
- 37:16Speaker 3: certain that the lipstick that Dorothy wears all the time
- 37:20Speaker 3: is either Cherries in the Snow or I can't remember
- 37:24Speaker 3: the other one, it's a it's a fuchia something. But
- 37:26Speaker 3: they're the two almost pink blue based reds that like
- 37:30Speaker 3: existed around that time, because I owned that color for
- 37:33Speaker 3: a while, because they were like, oh, this was what
- 37:36Speaker 3: Marilyn Monroe used to wear, but in like the eighties
