- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: verifying news that no one else knows about today.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm joined by Alfredo Artyaga of three arts precary who's been on the ground.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: I camp all summer long.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: I was there for the first week.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: I've been there as well.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: The first step chart of the Miami Dolphins is out.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: The joint practice with the Washington Commanders concluded and first real football under Jeff
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Is Alfred?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Nope.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: Did you ask me a question?
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could have just said whatever the hell you wanted.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting football on Friday.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, by the way, I sound good, because I'm having some technical issues.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're getting football on Friday.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: And today, we've got a joint practice that everybody's freaking out over.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Although, we've gotten, since we've gotten confirmation that,
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Most of the freaking out was a little bit overblown, and it's a few overzealous commanders fans that saturated Twitter to get out there with their takes of how great the Washington commanders were today.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: But we learned a lot from this team, and we basically got confirmation today of what they kind of are, right?
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like they lack depth.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but they still have a lot of young talent.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's worth watching.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they have a lot of young talent that I think make up What is going to be a pretty good and decent Young core for this team going forward.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to watch the play on Friday and It's gonna be even better than Malik Willis is actually playing on Friday.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: I will play them a little bit a little bit longer.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: The offense needs needs work So I would play them an entire quarter if I could
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I put on a filler out there just to see on Twitter what would actually happen and I was like I don't understand the overreaction.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean we all know the dolphins have a brand new core quarterback glad receiver trio Some newer additions to the offense line some key position changes 7 to 8 new starters on the defense young talent as well
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I put out there to see if the commander's fans would bite.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I put, do we forget that Washington has?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I put an asterisk there mostly in an asterisk again.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: The same team and staff returning on offense and defense.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, let me just wait.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you think about it, the commanders,
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: Some of their core is intact.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: They have the core to back.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: They have their head coach.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: They have a new defense coordinator.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: They have a new offensive coordinator.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: They have different starters along the defense tie it in as well and several people on the offensive line.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I put, the dolphins have a brand new coaching staff a new core that are less talented overall and paper than Washington and oh my god.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Commanders fans there's like other than new tie-to-end left tackle left guard center, wide receiver, wide receiver Edge Rush or Edge Rush or lineback, a lineback or defensive active events, a back safety Kicker OCDC then yes, they're mostly the same team.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, these guys don't know how social media works out Yeah, you could just throw the bait out and they'll grab it
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Every opportunity I had to really glow about the joint practice victories that Miami Dolphins had against the Tampa Bay Bucks four years ago, or the massive victory that had against the Philadelphia Eagles here, what was the three years ago or something like that.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, like I was I was I was I was saying this on an only fence.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I was there for that practice against the bucks bucks were coming off of a superbowl victory Okay Dolphins ran 15 Plays from the two yard line.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: There's quarter eleven touchdowns on the Tampa Bay bucks defense That was one of the best defenses in football the year before the following year.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: They went live for two series each
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: against the Eagles.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Dolphins scored 10 points in two series.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: One versus one, the Eagles had one first down.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, nobody gloated about any of these things, because they're joint practices.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: They don't essentially mean anything.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: All the fours to just get better and lead you into the preseason games.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: And these games, and I keep telling this to people, these games are gonna be really important for this team.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: because they have a lot of players on this team that are gonna actually earn playing time by how they play in these preseason games.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then how do they practice after these preseason games?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I'm most looking forward to is the game on Friday to see who emerges, who doesn't emerge, who's given an opportunity and runs with it and who doesn't.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also really interested to monitor what's going on with Chris Johnson because I have to believe that he is a really good player.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be a good player for this team and he set out half a practice today.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm wondering to see what is the issue with Chris Johnson.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: There is an availability for Jeff Halfley right after the game.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: But it is a preseason game, so they will have to reveal some injury.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: The injury status of players before the game.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we will learn more then.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that their reporting deadline is 530.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: No, six o'clock for the seven o'clock kickoff.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: So at six o'clock, we will get the injury report on Friday.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't wait to see that.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be important.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think that, you know, heading into this first prison preseason game, there's a couple of storylines that matter.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: You take a look at the depth chart.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: You have Caleb Douglas ahead of two to at will.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like he's earned a spot just based off what he's done throughout training camp.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: and joint practice.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was maybe potentially the lone star by both media members of the commanders and the dolphins.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's earned his spot already just with his play during practice.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jonas of Inaia looked good in our practices that we saw.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: And look, I think we all saw the news of him struggling.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was really, and by the way, Kyle Crab says this, he was just one bad rep that was overblown.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: OK?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: How does Caden Proctor Fair add left guard, right?
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: But I think Jonah Sevaniah's recovery is going to be the quieter and bigger story.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Rodriguez, he's listed as an or with dots in at Mike and next to Jordan Brooks right there.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: the train more starting at Sam Bakker.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: I know I talked to you about this Alfa, but I pointed out that he was running with the ones, right?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: But he was playing more so of like a hybrid tweener role as a stand-up edge as a lineback or close-up line scrimmage, but also dropping off and coverage, like
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: When you think about Jeff Hathley's defense, the Sam role is just under a quarter of the snaps in base.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of notable that a day three rookie is head of Willy Gay.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think that was much of a shocker because you could kind of see it coming.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you were watching practice, you could see how train more was getting a lot of those reps, especially on the goal line like what I like to watch in practices, who are the subs in the goal line when the opposing team is in 13 personnel, or 23 personnel, who are the big people?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: What are the fronts that they're gonna use?
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Who's gonna be in their 50 fronts?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Who do they trust?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: You saw it right away.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: The train more was the same linebacker, okay?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And essentially it was T dot or Jacob in the will, or I mean in the mic, and then it was Jordan Brooks as the will.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: And there is a lot of versatility that's, it's on the depth chart.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the designation, like they didn't get cute with this depth chart.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: They actually told the truth pretty much throughout it.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: But there's one designation that I found a little odd, because I don't think it, it bends with the reality, which is where they put Ronnie Harrison and Kahluis as or.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that's because they really didn't get a good designation for Kahluis.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: right?
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Because we kind of know what Cal Lewis is going to be doing.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be playing in Big Nickel.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's essentially going to be like a third safety on third-downs on occasion against the right opponents.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, no surprises whatsoever and who is where.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: But, uh, Tray Moore, he does have a skill set that lends himself to be kind of perfect for that role as a Sam Linebacker.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, also a good sign, uh, he was dinged a little bit in practice on Monday, but he did practice today in full, so I guess he was fine.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then just a secondary, um, we see Chris Johnson as the nickel, he looks like, you know, if they're in a two.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: quarterback set, he'll be playing outside alongside Jesu Brents.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: And again, just on the outside inside plant for Chris Johnson, it's laid out pretty specifically.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: If he can't go, well, how are some of the defensive calls that may change if Chris Johnson is out?
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because during practice, he looked like a guy that would be playing 95 to 98% of the entire defense
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting, right?
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that they'll go next man up, really.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: And in that case, it's Austin, not Ethan Robinson.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like Robinson a little bit better.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're talking about going to your second or your third nickel, then you have issues already.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I would expect them to reach deeper into their bag, but I don't think they're gonna cut out
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: parts of the playbook like I think it's it's who that this defense is this defense is multiple like they don't want to stay in in base or or not that they're going to be predictable but I don't think that they that they want to cut like I said cut big parts of the playbook out because with all the coverages that they that they play and you can begin to see some of it on Friday I think that they're going to try to
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they didn't gain plan for today's joint practice, but these preseason games are games that they're going to use to try to test drive some of those coverages to make sure guys could run them.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Watching practice all this time, I've been actually pretty impressed with some of these guys, like they're a cerebral group.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: I really do like the safety group, like, you know, there's not a single star in this entire safety group, but these are decent NFL players, like Zayn Anderson is a good player.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Lonnie Anderson, Lonnie Johnson was actually playing really well today, I was told.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Michael Taffas come on.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: Thoughts had created, we know, is a guy that they trust.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: He did not practice today, by the way.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm just to see that on Saturday.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'll Friday.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be instructive to see how they run coverages.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: But to get back to answering your question, like if Chris Johnson is out, I don't think they'll cut out parts of the playbook.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think they'll just go next man up and as of right now, it's been Austin, who they've actually gone to.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, go ahead.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel like Alex Austin has done well in that back up secondary role, forcing funbals, making some pass breakups during practice as well.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: Actually getting down and dirty in the run game as well, I think, you know, as he was what drafted by the Patriots, I believe in the seventh run a couple of years ago, um,
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: he's actually come on a lot of drink practices.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how he did in the joint practices.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: There was not a lot of stuff said about him.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Good or maybe even bad.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll see how he does especially of Johnson.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: If Chris Johnson can't play in the preseason game and I think a lot of Dolphins fans will be pleasantly surprised by what they see in Alex Austin.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's played well.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Personally, I've always liked Ethan Robinson a little bit better.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a better athlete.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's kind of a super athlete.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: Ethan Robinson, if you've watched him, and I don't know about his razz, but he's just an noticeable player when you watch him in practice.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like the guy's fast.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's very twitchy athlete.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: and I've always liked him a little bit better, but I tend to like guys with traits with physical traits for the bottom end of the roster, because those are guys that you could kind of kind of trust, but obviously they like Austin better.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, all right, we're going to go to break and I'm going to tell you about factor.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let me think about facts or sometimes you don't have the time or you just don't want to cook.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: So what would it be a great thing to have fully prepared meals designed by dietitians and crafted by chefs deliver right to your door?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: Facts are my chef crafted dietitian design to ready to eat meals so you don't have to choose between real food and convenience.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: Factor meals are ready in two minutes and require no prep and no cleanup.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: So even though the days your schedule is completely out of control, eating well is still achievable.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Every week you'll find over 100 nutrient dense menu items to choose from with new options like salmon burgers, shredded pork, collar greens and more.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: Plus add-ons, you'll crave like pumpkin flavored cheesecake and protein shakes.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, I like their taco bowls, their taco bowls are really, really, really good.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: And healthy.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: They also do they do have GOP1 support meals if you're doing those.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: But let's see real head to over to factor meals.com slash three yards five zero off and use the code three yards five zero off to get 50% off and one free breakfast item per box for one year while supplies last until October 31st, 2026.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's code three yards five zero off at factor meals.com.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: three yards five zero off at factor meals.com see website for more details and we're back.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: So something that's something that I noticed from Jeff Halfley just in his pressure way he said just about the entire team was that he wants to see them be better against the
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he wants to see them be better against Atlanta than they were against the Giants, right?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Sounds like he's building a three week improvement curve into how he goes about these next through preseason games, right?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: Not whens, not lost, it's just steady growth week over a week.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I think that's the right way to manage a roster that's this young.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think there will need to be actual winning to start mattering at some point through this season?
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I think so, and that's usually what happens with players, right?
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so much preaching you can do about the process and then if you continue with this process, but the winning doesn't come, it just becomes stale.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like we saw this happen in the NBA with
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: the ultimate process team, the 76ers, right?
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: How long did they spent talking about just trust the process?
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like we know what we're doing?
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: It might have worked out in their favor now, we're just moving the brawn there.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, only 15 years later, right?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's so, it finally worked like 10 years later, or whatever the hell, whenever they started all of this.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, it's...
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know, after a while, some players are gonna check out.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: But since this team is very young, and the guys that they did pay are the right guys,
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Like those three guys that they paid are the right guys to pay.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like those are guys that are not gonna cause problems for you.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: They're not gonna be mouth-contents.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: And the rest of the team are young, right?
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna, it's basically on Jeff Hathley to keep these guys on board.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he will for this season.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, it's, it will create a little bit of pressure for next season, because,
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna get capitalized.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be able to spend some money to fix the issues that they're going to identify through a 17-game season this year, right?
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: I already identified what some of these issues are.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, at least.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we can see the issues that are on the way, right?
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: As soon as they take an injury in the secondary, they're going to have issues, okay?
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it could devolve pretty quickly and pretty fast.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's good set up for some pressure next year now if you want to relieve you know what you want to relieve some some of this pressure like go ahead and have a great season this year now when I say go and have a great season I'm waiting I'm not talking about winning nine ten games or anything like that right I thought about beating the number like there are four and a half like if they
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: Then I thought you got to pop the champagne and then in the off season, you're talking about we're going to the playoffs next season, okay?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you think about that.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: You think about their schedule after week 10.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's it's kind of intense, man.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's an awful schedule.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like that schedule where we're giving them that schedule is that it's rough.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and the schedule overall is rough.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like, they're not going to be favored in almost any game.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe they're favored in any game.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: They might be favored in the home game against the jets.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now things change.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there could be a team on that run that schedule.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's an absolute disaster.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't want to always injury issues right there could be a good team that comes into into hard rock stadium.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's completely hobbled and my I'm a good is going to be favorite against them, right?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, we shall see.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: But, roundabout way to answer your question.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's just so long you could just say trust the process and eventually wins are going to have to come.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: If that's the case, I do think that next year in year two, it's going to be a pressure pack season.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're going to be required to actually win some games and press for the playoffs.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: If not make the playoffs, but press for at least a winning
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: that's always you know that's judging by you know by what they're going to have coming back to them online you know when you're going to add like 80 million dollars worth of players and a brand new draft class like yeah you better improve the team exponentially almost from year to year all right now we're going to preview the Washington Commanders game
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: on Friday, Hathley says that, you know, he's got a lot of respect for Dan Quinn as the defensive guy and as a head coach, you know, the commander's going to play a good defense.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Jeff Hathley knows whom Relic Willis is.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: He knows his offensive line.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: Bobby Sloak knows his offensive players.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: What are some things you're watching on the offense because I want to see what this dolphins run game looks like without divine ageing with.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: the starting offensive line and secondary offensive line without divine aging because God forbid, you know, if divine aging starts breaking down after 40 plus carries every single game, you gotta have a back up plan, please.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, by the way, that was a complete joke of that, you know, half-re was joking.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's the divine agent's not gonna get 40 touches.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's only had 40 touches once in his career, okay?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to happen.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: But he is going to get about 25 touches, like that's the thing, like that's going to happen.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm interested to see what they work as far as a game plan.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't think that they're going to just game plan and, you know, pre-scout the entire team, but I do expect them to have a script together.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's something that you want, you know what, Malik will us to execute.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: And we kind of got confirmation that Malik was just going to start the game.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, unless things change according to Jeff Haffley.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, if he is going to start the game, I'm interested to see what that script looks like.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what is on, what is on tap as far as what they want to call, you know, what are the plays that they want to get to and what is the offensive, what is the passing game actually look like?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to use a lot of boots?
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to use a lot of run actions?
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that the previous regime used to do.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: They used to hide the deficiencies of the offensive line.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if Jonah is still having issues, you probably
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: We do know you have to do something like that for Austin Jackson.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's just the fact now I don't know if Austin Jackson's gonna play in the game But we do know that that's something that you have to do for Austin Jackson more often than not because he's just not a guy who holds up in past pro consistently So I'm interested to see what this what this passing offense looks like Where what are they calling on third down?
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know and I'm gonna be even more interested.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that the alt 22 is gonna drop on Monday.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: So when the ultimately two drops on Monday, I want to see what this passing game offers, you know, what this passing concepts look like, especially on third and long, third and eight or more.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see on third and eight or more, what do they try to get to?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think we have an idea based on what Bobby Slavic did at use in Texas and just based on practices, we'll just some of the base concepts, how they were dressing it up.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: with a little bit, you know, just a little bit of the motion.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the full mic, my Daniel, Tiki, Taki, second, third, fourth, motion, happening at the line of screen image or just before this nap, just normal, real football while trying to gain leverage, at least on those third and longs.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I think for me is, I wanna see what,
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Jeff Haffley's defense of line looks like, like, how does biggers, how does fill-ups?
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how do those secondary defensive line and end-rushers look up against, you know, 20, 30 reps, are they able to rush the pastor?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Can the first team defense get pressure on J&D annuals?
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: We heard during joint practice, they stopped the run.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: And Jeff Haffley's defense can stop the run.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: but can that defensive line get that pressure with four?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: That is the big key.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: If both the first and second team units get pressure with four without the sim blitzes, I'm sorry, even with the sim blitzes, but just having someone else like a train more or Jordan Brooks rest the past year while an edge brochure drops into coverage, I think that will be very telling early on.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to see the coverages too.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what kind of team are they going to be?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to be a cover 3 team?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to be a man team?
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, a lot of these things kind of need for you to be completely healthy.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, so you actually get a real picture of what the team is actually going to do when the games actually do matter.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: But half of this is struck me as a guy who's just going to massage his skin just because a few guys are out in the preseason.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's going to try to call his defense the way he wants to call it, the way he's going to call it in the regular season.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to see how they execute it.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they can't.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: The real coverages are really about the safety, okay?
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: especially in cover three if they're going to be a cover three heavy team so I want to see the Mexican and I want to see what kind of defense they call do they call blitzers will they call blitzers
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: you know, what are their pet calls on third down like that's something you're going to notice right away because most different of coordinators, they build tendencies and those tendencies, they tend to just stick with them pretty much forever and one thing that always sticks with them pretty much forever is what they like to get to on third and long.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: like most defensive coordinators just spam the same three coverage on third and long all season long.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: I thought about every step.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's usually the same three coverage is for third and long.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see, you know, I want to see what's in half these back as far as defensively because he was like I was very tricky with this coverage last season with the packers.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see if these guys can execute it.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: And of course the thing I want to see most of all is progression from the guys that are going to be counted on on this team, Kenneth Douglas, Chop Robinson, those guys, Kate and Proctor, Chris Johnson of E-Plays, etc.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Last one before we close out.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: Give us a bold prediction for Friday night.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you a bold prediction, Malik Willis, and the first team off
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's a bold prediction, yeah.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're only going to play if they're going to play what how many servers are they're going to play?
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I feel like they should at least get two series and two to three series.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: I will play them the entire first quarter is what I would do and then I would have them play three quarters in the next game and then set out the third one.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I would do, you know.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll see what half we want to do.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, remember, all of this is new, brand new.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I would have these guys play a lot in the preseason.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: So that way when the regular season comes, they're familiar with what the coaches want them to do.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: My little prediction, we see,
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: about three peanut punches from the Dolphins defenders, and they recover at least two force fumbles.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: All right, that's pretty much it.
