- 1:37talking to the creator and founder of Prop Queen Sports,
- 1:42the very beautiful Ariel Epstein.
- 1:45Ariel, what's up? Hey guys, happy Wednesday.
- 1:49Oh my gosh, that's like my 30th birthday and you can hear my
- 1:53dogs barking too. I'm at my parents house because
- 1:56I dropped my dog off so I can go to Boston tomorrow for Premier
- 1:59Lacrosse. So we've got three dogs in the
- 2:01house. Boston.
- 2:03Boston. Could you?
- 2:03Could you pronounce it? No, I'm a New Yorker.
- 2:07It's against. All right, say I'm a New Yorker
- 2:09too. So we say Boston and, and I've
- 2:11gone, I've gone to Boston and, and the first thing they say to
- 2:16me when they ask me, first of all, they know I'm from New York
- 2:20and I and I always wear a Yankee hat when I'm in Boston.
- 2:24It doesn't matter. I went to Cheers one time and
- 2:27I'll never forget it. My friend told me when you go to
- 2:29Cheers, don't wear anything Yankees.
- 2:32When you walk through that door, they're going to kill you.
- 2:35I'll never forget it. I was wearing my job at Chapel.
- 2:38Yes. Not at cheers, though.
- 2:39I did it to Fenway for a Red Sox, Rays game what have nothing
- 2:43to do with the Yankees. And I was about 14 years old and
- 2:47I went with my grandparents. But whatever, I said, Grandpa,
- 2:50you better fight for me, because if they try to beat me up, I
- 2:53don't care. Well, that that's a funny story.
- 2:55I walked into cheers and I was wearing my Jabba Chamberlain
- 2:57jersey and I I show Jabba. I don't own a lot of Yankee
- 3:00jerseys except I only put my name on it, but I have Jabba's
- 3:04jersey and I wore it in and they said tell that fat ass that go
- 3:07back to where he's from. That's what they said when I
- 3:10walked through the walked for their.
- 3:11Daughter sounds about right. Yeah, well, it is.
- 3:13Amazing. You'll still see 60 twos going
- 3:15around the stadium. Speaking of 62, I got to to show
- 3:19you something. I've got something handmade for
- 3:22the old. Now Jabba does not like to be
- 3:25called Joba. He doesn't.
- 3:27So I told Jabba and the same thing I did for Nick Goody,
- 3:30another X Yankee that's on the show.
- 3:32I had to get his college jersey. So I got a Nebraska made jersey
- 3:36with Jabba and guess what? I got right on the back.
- 3:39You ready fans, ready to look at this?
- 3:40Ready. Read this.
- 3:46So. I got it spelled Joe BA.
- 3:48OK, so for Jabba, I did it for him.
- 3:51I posted we're going to be posting up on social media.
- 3:53He absolutely despises it. And and I always put this drop
- 3:57over here, Drobba, as we always do Droba.
- 4:00And it pisses Jabba off. It makes he makes these weird
- 4:02faces and he says, if I ever see I'm going to smack the you know
- 4:05what out of you. So hey, you know what?
- 4:07I might as well. I didn't realize until I left
- 4:09New York how many different variations of Ariel there are.
- 4:14So New Yorkers say it, Ariel, like normal, but then you'll go
- 4:17Ariel, Ariel, Ariel. I had no idea until I moved to
- 4:22North Carolina. Yeah, well, my name is Errol,
- 4:25and I hate when they call me Ariel and that I hear egg roll.
- 4:29I hear all these names. I hear all this, this, this
- 4:32stupidity. Earl.
- 4:34I hear Earl and I hate. You just say egg.
- 4:36Roll. Oh yeah, I've heard, I've heard
- 4:38Errol egg roll. You get it.
- 4:40You know, I've heard all different things.
- 4:43Everybody tries to transition or translate my name.
- 4:47You know, my brother was one of those guys that.
- 4:49Yeah, I, I used to pick up my brother all the time.
- 4:51And, and I, my brother and I hopefully he's not listening.
- 4:55He has these these weird nipples when he was a kid, they used to
- 4:59poke out. They used to poke out of I'm
- 5:02just telling you it's funny. And he used to wear these shirts
- 5:06and my brother does not go in swimming pools anymore without
- 5:10wearing AT shirt because he's afraid that those things will
- 5:12poke out. He like I used to call him
- 5:14silver dollars. So I used to tell everybody that
- 5:17I have how many brothers and sisters you have?
- 5:19I said I have three sisters and I gave my brother.
- 5:22So I have Helena, Samantha and Susie.
- 5:26That's what I and people will say, wait a second, don't you
- 5:28have a brother? No, he's my sister.
- 5:30So long story I make, I want to throw this in.
- 5:34Today's world and like that that's it's acceptable in some
- 5:39parts of the world. And you can't about it I.
- 5:43Don't want to get myself into trouble here, you know.
- 5:45I know now you're going to get us in, I'm going to get
- 5:47cancelled and then he cancelled me.
- 5:50Yeah. My bad droba droba.
- 5:54My rear end is burning. Anyways, Ariel, you, you're
- 5:57doing some crazy stuff right now.
- 6:00Sports betting has become an all time big thing all over the
- 6:04country now. It's legalized in in so many
- 6:07states. Here in New York, it's it was a
- 6:09multi billion dollar industry last year.
- 6:12Tell us a little bit about why you decided to start Obviously
- 6:17Prop Queen Sports. So I always called prop betting
- 6:21the gateway drug into gambling from fantasy.
- 6:23So that's kind of what happened for me.
- 6:26As soon as gambling got legalized, I was like, wow, I
- 6:29don't really understand spreads, totals and money lines, but I
- 6:32understand props because I've been playing fantasy sports
- 6:35since I was nine. It was when everyone in Vegas.
- 6:39So I got into the media side of sports betting in 2019 and
- 6:43everybody in Vegas was spreads, totals, money, lines.
- 6:46I said, how am I going to differentiate myself from these
- 6:48people who have been doing this for 40 years?
- 6:51Like I'm 20 what, 2526 at the time.
- 6:54And so I said, OK, I'll do the props because that was such an
- 6:58East Coast thing. Strikeout props was actually
- 7:01what the Prop Queen name started off of.
- 7:03I didn't even like the name. I wasn't the one that started
- 7:06it. People just started calling me
- 7:07Prop Queen because I was the one that came on the shows giving
- 7:10out prop vetting information. I was the only one doing it when
- 7:13everything started really getting legalized and it kind of
- 7:16just blew up from there that the Prop Queen name became a brand.
- 7:18And in the last year I became very sick of working for other
- 7:22people, Everybody in this business.
- 7:25I had like 5 jobs in five years. No fault of my own, except that
- 7:28every company that hired me hired me for great money and
- 7:31then decided to fold the gambling department after a
- 7:34year. Every single time.
- 7:37So it just made the most sense to go out on my own and start
- 7:40the prop queen brand. Kind of like this is the way the
- 7:42generation is now. Everybody's just going on their
- 7:45own and making their own brands and getting their own deals as
- 7:49opposed to bringing like I did at MLB Network, for example.
- 7:52But MGM came and started branding my stuff.
- 7:55But the MLB networks, all that money I just got paid my normal
- 7:58salary for MLB. So it just makes the most sense
- 8:02at this point to they'll do those things as an independent
- 8:05contractor because obviously everything is still great and I
- 8:08love working for those places, but building a brand these days
- 8:11is the most important. Yeah, and we've obviously seen
- 8:14what you've done. I want to touch on some.
- 8:16You were, you were real excited at the start of your show today
- 8:19about how you can't you don't like guys that go and break up,
- 8:23no hitters that used to be Yankees and specifically Soto
- 8:27and Sanchez. You, I mean, I, I do watch a
- 8:30show, obviously. And I was like, well, she, this
- 8:33really hits her deep right now. Like especially with Gavin
- 8:36today, I was like, man, they're like, she's really invested in
- 8:40this. One, so the background on Gavin
- 8:42and I is, and you probably could attest to this being from
- 8:45Nebraska, small town. When I was a sports anchor in
- 8:48North Carolina for three years, I got to see a lot of really
- 8:51young talent like Mackenzie Gore is from down there too, Brandon
- 8:55Ingram is from there, Bruce Carter is from there there,
- 9:00Jerry Stackhouse is from there. So there are so many huge names.
- 9:04And Todd Gurley at that time too, was big.
- 9:06That came through Eastern North Carolina.
- 9:09Gavin Williams pitched at East Carolina University and I was
- 9:12already, I think my second year at in Greenville at that point.
- 9:18And they told us that this kid is a freshman.
- 9:21He's going to make his debut out of the bullpen.
- 9:25He throws over 100, but he's wild like he would threw wild at
- 9:28the time, But this kid was like a stick.
- 9:30He was tall, but a stick, but threw over 100.
- 9:33And he did like first pitch out of the gates, out of the
- 9:35bullpen, throws over 100. It was Gavin Williams.
- 9:38And I'm standing there and it turns out as I'm shooting the
- 9:41game as a local sports anchor, like you have to shoot your own
- 9:44highlights sitting behind on plate.
- 9:46I'm shooting the game. His grandma is sitting next to
- 9:49me. So now I every single game for
- 9:51two years and sitting next to his grandparents.
- 9:54They got season tickets. They sat behind on play for all
- 9:57his, all his, whether it was the bullpen, starting, whatever.
- 10:00So I got to really know his family through covering Gavin
- 10:04all his career. And then it was really cool when
- 10:06he made his Major League debut and then he came to Yankee
- 10:08Stadium for the first time. So I used my MLB credential.
- 10:12I went down to the field, said, hey, to him.
- 10:14It was such a full circle moment.
- 10:15I was at MLB Network, he was pitching.
- 10:17So I was actually talking with him after the game today and I
- 10:21was like, you good like Jabba. You would know I'm sitting there
- 10:24devastated for this kid that he gave up a number hitter to Juan
- 10:28Soto after being 2 outs away. And he goes, well, Soto's really
- 10:33good. I said I know, but you all said
- 10:36no hitter. He said, no, I'm cool.
- 10:38Like I'm really happy with the way today went.
- 10:41Yeah, not only not only the no hitter though it it blew a
- 10:43shutout too, which sucks. Yeah, but I feel like at that
- 10:47point after you blow the no hitter whatever for a shutout,
- 10:50but A1 hitter against the Mets? I said this to a friend of mine
- 10:53who's a Mets fan. I said the cool thing is you've
- 10:56seen a lot of no hitters go against like the Athletics or
- 10:59the White Sox. This Mets team is a good team.
- 11:02Like they're a good lineup, not recently, but like overall
- 11:05that's a really tough lineup to throw a no hitter against.
- 11:08So I thought. Easy.
- 11:09The Yankees almost got no hit, too.
- 11:10Like, let's, I mean, we had two hits of it, yeah.
- 11:13So the Yankees stink. Don't get me started.
- 11:16I'm a Yankee fan. They stink.
- 11:20And it's horrible. And here's the thing, I'd rather
- 11:23my bats be cold like the Rangers then have horrible fundamentals
- 11:28and inability to field simple balls in the infield.
- 11:31Like at least your bats eventually.
- 11:34And the Rangers really hasn't. But when you go cold in a
- 11:37lineup, it stinks. But things heat up.
- 11:40Like you like your lineup at some point is bound to heat up.
- 11:43That's just baseball. But fundamentally being
- 11:47ridiculously horrible, especially when the Dodgers game
- 11:52plan was outwardly to take advantage of how bad your
- 11:56defense is in the World Series and you didn't even fix it.
- 12:01Like it's embarrassing. Yeah, I wanted to reference the
- 12:04video you had. I think yesterday I saw on the
- 12:06on Twitter or Instagram, you're saying that are the Yankees tank
- 12:10or something like that. And we've had discussion of like
- 12:12what the Yankees should do with the trade deadline error will
- 12:14say, oh, they should have stationed sellers at the
- 12:16deadline. Like, where do you stand on all
- 12:17that with the Yankees? No, they weren't going to be
- 12:19sellers, and I think they did pretty well at the deadline,
- 12:22especially because the market clearly wasn't in the starting
- 12:25pitching market. No starters really went
- 12:27anywhere. Everyone was bolstering the
- 12:28bullpen where I get annoyed and I see this all the time.
- 12:32It's really hard for me to rank, like to rake on Boone because
- 12:36Aaron Boone has always been great to me like he is always,
- 12:38every time I've been around him. Great guy, so nice to me, jokes
- 12:43with me. I have nothing against Aaron
- 12:45Boone as a person, but when these decisions are made like
- 12:49Devin Williams last night who has been struggling all year.
- 12:53And I, Jabba and I spoke about this at the beginning of the
- 12:55season when I said, what is going on with this guy?
- 12:59And he still never really got things right.
- 13:02And the bases are loaded. And you went out and got one of
- 13:06the best closers in the market in David Bednar.
- 13:10And I understand maybe you didn't want him to like get
- 13:12crushed by putting him in that situation.
- 13:15We are grown like you're grown men.
- 13:17You got him for a reason. Take Devin Williams out of the
- 13:20game. Enough already.
- 13:21Like these decisions are terrible.
- 13:23It's Aaron Boone. He's reaching out to you.
- 13:25Ariel. Yeah.
- 13:26MLP networks like you're fired, say.
- 13:31Joba's got me. Joba.
- 13:33Joba. I'm quitting the show.
- 13:36Like, you know how pissed off that makes me.
- 13:39It's unbelievable. I only say it in a negative
- 13:41context, like getting cancelled on the show.
- 13:44Yeah, no, I just want to punch air on this face.
- 13:46She's that. Hold on one second.
- 13:48She's kidding. I'm not.
- 13:49Punching her in the face. Like, why are you going to punch
- 13:52me in the face? I did nothing wrong.
- 13:54I was kidding around. Anyways, we are talking to the
- 13:57creator and founder of Prop Queen Sports, Ariel Epstein.
- 14:01And by the way, she's not getting fired for anybody.
- 14:03Don't try to kill me. Don't throw any bones on my
- 14:06social. Media it's.
- 14:08It's all my fault. It's it's Joba.
- 14:10It's always as he always is anyways.
- 14:15You know, Ariel, we, we speak about the Yankees on the show a
- 14:18lot. I'm a Yankee fan.
- 14:19Obviously Jabba play for the Yankees.
- 14:21We all know what he's all about. And Fish is a Yankee fan.
- 14:25There are ton of Yankee fans that listen to this show and
- 14:28what turns me off about this team really since the beginning
- 14:32was really not the manager. I don't think it's Aaron Boone's
- 14:35fault. Aaron Boone's not going on the
- 14:37field trying to hit the ball. Aaron.
- 14:39Aaron Boone's not trying to steal a steal a plate or steal a
- 14:43base. Aaron Boone's not throwing the
- 14:44ball. Aaron Boone is looking at
- 14:46analytics that the analytic department is sending down to
- 14:50him, and all these fans have been just attacking Aaron Boone
- 14:55over the list. OK, hold on, hold on.
- 14:57I'm cutting you off. No, go ahead.
- 14:59AJ Hinge becomes the manager of the Tigers, a team that was a
- 15:03disaster four years ago. Hobby Bias was the most veteran
- 15:07experienced All Star on that team of young stud rookies who
- 15:13we knew could be something but weren't amounting to much yet.
- 15:18AJ Hinge benches Javi Baez because.
- 15:21I told that story I. Told you what?
- 15:23Story. I told that story.
- 15:24He took him down under in Toronto.
- 15:27And look, this team knows that AJ Hint will bench you
- 15:32regardless of who you are. The Yankees don't do that.
- 15:37And that's Aaron Boone's fault. How about that's Brian Cashman's
- 15:40fault? How about it's the executive
- 15:42bunch up there telling. Aaron Boone, tell me, here's a
- 15:45puppet. I don't know whose fault that
- 15:47is. Here's a puppet.
- 15:48If AJ Hinch can make the whole team better in Detroit and make
- 15:51you realize that I'm going to bench you, I don't care.
- 15:54Then somebody in the Yankees organization, which I know for a
- 15:57fact from working for them, they're a very loyal
- 16:00organization, which is amazing in so many ways.
- 16:04It's just not working. It's I, I, I agree with you, but
- 16:07it's it's amazing almost to a fault too yes, because it's
- 16:10like, where do we go? And, and the crazy part is me
- 16:14being there is long. It's the same people like it is
- 16:16literally the same unless a Mark Newman got rested, his soul was
- 16:20our player development guide that who passed away.
- 16:22But other than that, it's the same people and it's it's just
- 16:27interesting when you bring it up.
- 16:28And and I brought up the AJ Hinch thing where if they get
- 16:32pissed at you for doing that, for doing whatever.
- 16:35And like the and I'll use Jazz as an example, like when you go
- 16:38out and say you're making a play and then come back and say that
- 16:41you would do it the same way again, What were you doing?
- 16:43It's it's a pop fly to second base and for somebody to not
- 16:47like get in his ass and be like, what are we doing?
- 16:50And then you see Booney talking to the first base coach and not
- 16:54Jazz, like what are we doing? And, and if and if you're told
- 16:58and, and as we've heard from people and and people that we've
- 17:02talked to it is he the puppet? Is he scared to to do something?
- 17:07Is but who's going to do it? Like we're going to see we we've
- 17:11seen what Judge said last night. Oh yeah, we have the clubhouse
- 17:14to do it. It has to be done right.
- 17:16Yeah, we know that. And then Booney goes back and
- 17:19says, yeah, it's only June, but it's August.
- 17:24There's not much time left. And so I it's just it's
- 17:27frustrating to. See, generation, unfortunately
- 17:30and IA, lot of these guys are my age, so I can't even say too
- 17:33much of that. But even the next generation on
- 17:35these Gen. Z kids, the college kids, the
- 17:37rookies, the young first second year players, the way the
- 17:40baseball even went in the last 10 years, it's the manager is
- 17:45your friend. Whereas you were with Joe Torre
- 17:48and the manager is your manager. Like, he's your boss.
- 17:50And I hate that. Football's not that way.
- 17:54Football, a lot of these guys are the head coach.
- 17:56Like, that's your coach. We just saw a coach come out of
- 17:59a pile with marks on his face. Like we, like coaches in the NFL
- 18:04are coaches in hockey. Coaches are coaches in baseball.
- 18:08It appears that half of them are their friends.
- 18:11First of all, jazz Chism. It's not Chism, it's Chism.
- 18:16That's all he's worth. I never liked the move when the
- 18:18Yankees brought him in. The guy, all he does is yap.
- 18:21He wears his nice beautiful jeans, dances and prances
- 18:24around. He went in the Home Run Derby.
- 18:26He embarrassed himself at the Home Run Derby, and after the
- 18:29Home Run Derby, he embarrassed himself again.
- 18:32Every single thing that comes out of this guy's mouth is just
- 18:35absolutely ridiculous and the Yankees should have suspended
- 18:39this guy a long time ago. Now I believe it's Brian
- 18:43Cashman. I think Brian Cashman is behind
- 18:45it. I feel bad for Aaron Boone.
- 18:47I stick up for Aaron Boone. I think Aaron Boone is a great
- 18:49manager and if Aaron Boone gets fired at the end of this year, I
- 18:54believe there'll be 5-6 or seven other teams lining up to bring
- 18:59in Aaron Boone. I don't think he's a bad
- 19:01manager. I think he just has to listen to
- 19:03up top and whatever they say goes.
- 19:06What do you think about that, Miss Epstein?
- 19:11I have heard that Cashman of course pulls a lot of the
- 19:14strings, but at this point it's crazy to think we are like 10
- 19:18years into Aaron Boone being manager.
- 19:20That is a long freaking time to be in a job.
- 19:23It's not his second year anymore even though it keeps feeling
- 19:26that way. Feels like Mr. Tory was manager
- 19:28like 3 years ago. That's not the case.
- 19:30He's 85, 10 years into a job. We should be a little bit more
- 19:35confident to be a little bit more ourselves if you can't do
- 19:39that. And again, maybe he just enjoys
- 19:42the I can't speak for Aaron Boone.
- 19:45I don't ever intend to speak for Aaron Boone.
- 19:46I don't know how it works in the organization.
- 19:49What I know whoever is running the team is not focusing on the
- 19:52problem, which is fundamentals. And when you are grown men
- 19:56making millions of dollars every year and you can't field ground
- 20:00balls, Anthony Volpe and Jazz Chisholm isn't running hard and
- 20:05we don't have Giancarlo Stanton. In the lineup against Nathan
- 20:08Ivaldi, who he's hitting like 400 against with four home runs.
- 20:12Big problem jism. Jism, just so you know, I'm
- 20:15helping you out here. It's jazz jizz.
- 20:17I'm just helping. You here, man, I've been saying
- 20:20this over Jabba last year when we started working together.
- 20:23Jabba, we're going to have to go.
- 20:24Back on this, I didn't have a love fest, don't you?
- 20:27Lie now, I loved him. No, Is he a vibes?
- 20:31Guy though, he a vibes guy 100%. He vibed.
- 20:34To him, he definitely vibed to him and he attacked me at the
- 20:37World Series and I said this guy stinks.
- 20:40He's an overrated second baseman.
- 20:42Oh, I'm sorry. He played third base during the
- 20:45World Series. I think the guy stinks.
- 20:47And and by the way, Gleiber Taurus is having an All Star
- 20:50year. He's on a better team.
- 20:52Where's Gleiber? Taurus.
- 20:53This guy this? Happens to all the Yankees.
- 20:56A lot of them leave the Yankees and do better.
- 20:58So why do people come to the Yankees and do worse?
- 21:01I don't know. You, you, you know the Yankees
- 21:04more than I do. Blaming the.
- 21:05Whole pinstripe thing, fine. Under George Steinbrenner, you
- 21:09could feel the pressure. He was a scary man.
- 21:12This rate We can't talk about the Yankees and pinstripes and
- 21:16pressure in New York. What's the pressure?
- 21:18You haven't won a World Series since 2009.
- 21:22What's the pressure? Enough?
- 21:23This is such a stupid argument over the stupid pressure.
- 21:27It's not pressure. It's no one's pressuring you
- 21:30that's the problem. So.
- 21:33Switching gears, I wanted to discuss the the betting scandals
- 21:35that have been going on in sports recently, most recently
- 21:37with the manual class Emmanuel class you threw.
- 21:40Mariano on the screen as you're talking about gambling scandal.
- 21:43That was weird, yeah. So Emmanuel, Class A was the big
- 21:46one. Recently, we've seen a couple in
- 21:47the NBA get suspended as well. And like Errol's whispering
- 21:50here, Ohtani last year was the big one.
- 21:51What are your thoughts on all that, how it's operating,
- 21:53created in all sports? So I always tell people, because
- 21:57everyone thinks that gambling's making this worse.
- 22:00In fact, it's the opposite. The legalization of gambling is
- 22:03why it's getting exposed. It was it was always happening.
- 22:07If you think that these guys are just new doing this because it's
- 22:11legal, that's not true. I know a lot of ex athletes who
- 22:14all gambled and all know like I hear stories, they all got away
- 22:19with it. Even the leaks sometimes knew
- 22:20about it, called them into private meetings and said hey
- 22:23we're kind of catching on, stop it or we're going to have to
- 22:25suspend you. There were a lot of warnings
- 22:28that no one hears about. So this is now just bringing it
- 22:31to the forefront. And remember those times it was
- 22:33illegal these times, this isn't necessarily like a manual Class
- 22:37A and Ortiz on the guardians. These weren't we caught you
- 22:43betting these were. We caught you doing things that
- 22:47looked like the whole there was. I don't even know how someone
- 22:52got down like 5 or 10K on a second pitch of 1/3 inning.
- 22:57I don't even know how you were able to get that down because
- 23:00you usually can't even bet more than $250 on that kind of
- 23:03market. But besides the point, they were
- 23:05seeing excessive amounts of money coming in on a certain
- 23:07pitch in a certain inning, that clearly ball slipped out of
- 23:11their hands like that was class. A's, oh, oh, pitch.
- 23:14And he like long darted like six in a row and then didn't miss
- 23:17the zone by less than like, like 1/4 of an inch like his next 32
- 23:21pitches or something like that, right?
- 23:23Like these are The funny thing is it's not even O class A's
- 23:26betting. It's well, who's he assisting in
- 23:28the betting? It's like point shaving.
- 23:31But again, these things have been going on for years.
- 23:34I just think that these players are so dumb because it's
- 23:37obviously it's like become blatantly obvious.
- 23:41So my defense of it legalized gambling is just helping people
- 23:46get caught. And the problem is people will
- 23:49continue to do not legalize gambling, and that just
- 23:54contributes to a different problem.
- 23:56As it's not. Not like we all didn't have
- 23:58bookies, right? It's, it's happened for years.
- 24:03I mean, it's like in New York, it's like the back of the parlor
- 24:09games, like gambling rings. It's I mean, it's going to
- 24:11happen, but yeah, it's the one thing that I always wondered it,
- 24:15it was so like taboo back even though people knew they did it.
- 24:19Do you think like obviously you being at the forefront of what
- 24:21you've done and how you've done it, do you think it's helped or
- 24:25hurt in getting people like to the sport?
- 24:28Or has it become like, I'm not a fan?
- 24:31I'm a I'm a fantasy fan. I'm I'm a fan of if this guy's
- 24:34on my team or as you do your survivor things.
- 24:37Oh, I just want him to get a hit.
- 24:38But I hate the Braves. Like, you know, does it become
- 24:41certain things like that? And how have you seen it work,
- 24:44good and bad? I've seen it help more than it
- 24:47hurts, especially baseball, which is the sport we love.
- 24:50People love having this downtime of year saying, hey, Ariel,
- 24:54what's the bed of the day? I just want a little bit of
- 24:56action. I want to have some fun.
- 24:57And it gives me a reason to watch the Mariners and White Sox
- 25:00tonight. Football obviously is king.
- 25:03I just, I do think that it has helped a generation, especially
- 25:07like my brother's age, who's all just getting to that legalized
- 25:10gambling age or not. But they want to be and they
- 25:14all, it used to be, they didn't have a reason to really tune
- 25:19into the games and watch. They just watch the box score,
- 25:22watch social media highlights. Now you get people living and
- 25:25dying on every play, every pitch again, because they might have
- 25:29action on it and it might mean something.
- 25:31So I do think in the long run it's helped more than I've seen.
- 25:34It hurt. What has it hurt?
- 25:36There are obviously people who are against gambling, but my
- 25:39response is always, well, what are you going to do?
- 25:41You're going to take away liquor stores.
- 25:42People are still going to have alcohol addictions.
- 25:44You're going to tell people they can't have sex?
- 25:46People are still going to have sex addictions.
- 25:48You're going to tell people they can't watch porn, they're going
- 25:50to do it anyway. Pointing out.
- 25:52Choppa you pointing? Oh, she.
- 25:54I was just She's hitting the mail on the head.
- 25:56All right, I. Thought you were pointing at me
- 25:58now. No, I.
- 25:59Mean, but the same thing. She's 100% right.
- 26:02The world's biggest addiction is legal.
- 26:04And that's food. Fast food corners, you know you
- 26:07got to eat. I thought he was going a
- 26:09different direction, but I was. Trying to I was, I was.
- 26:12Trying to bring it back. Trying.
- 26:13To bring it back a little bit, he was pointing at me.
- 26:17That's what I thought he was doing.
- 26:18No, I was like. Bingo, you got it.
- 26:20I wasn't necessarily pointing at anybody.
- 26:23We are talking to creator and sports, Ariel Epstein.
- 26:27You know, it's, it's really, really funny.
- 26:29When I, I started working with Jabba, I, I was always trying to
- 26:33figure him out as a player. I was a fan of Jabba
- 26:35Chamberlain. I always was.
- 26:37And then working with him, I, I, I really had to figure out his
- 26:40personality. Is there a particular person
- 26:42that you've worked with over the years where you thought you knew
- 26:45him until you really got a chance to work with him?
- 26:48And who was it and why or how did you deal with him if you
- 26:52couldn't deal with? Them oh God, I'm.
- 26:55Not going to name names because. I knew that was.
- 26:59Kevin. There.
- 27:02Have definitely been people I've worked with that I'm like, oh
- 27:05wow, I thought we were friends and you are just a lunatic and
- 27:09we can't work together. I don't.
- 27:12I can handle a lot like you could.
- 27:14I could come on, I could talk with guys, I don't care.
- 27:16I've had guy friends my whole life.
- 27:17Literally nothing bothers me until you degrade me over my
- 27:22work. If you come on and try to
- 27:23degrade me by saying certain things like I don't know someone
- 27:28unless you mentioned it, or like if you start telling me that I
- 27:32don't have the right to give out bets on this because I don't
- 27:36know that, trust me, I've heard it from this particular person.
- 27:41I have heard like on air, and I'm not saying behind the
- 27:45scenes, I don't care about behind the scenes.
- 27:47It was on air that I would be getting called out over stuff
- 27:49and to the point this person, it got to the higher ups and it was
- 27:53done. But I will say 1 funny story
- 27:56that I don't mind saying so Al Leiter and I, so I met Al for
- 28:01the first time two or three years ago at MLB Network.
- 28:06And he's a hard ass. Like when you first meet him,
- 28:09he's a tough dude. But I love that.
- 28:11Like, I love cracking people. Like I would have loved to have
- 28:14met George Steinbrenner because I feel like LON Trost and I
- 28:17became close and he's a tough guy too.
- 28:19Like I was like, I'm going to craft this guy.
- 28:21And those are the same. Size.
- 28:24I'm actually a little taller, but he's a lot most powerful.
- 28:29He's the tiniest, most powerful person anyone could probably
- 28:33ever meet, and he's a great. Dude, and he's a great.
- 28:35Guy, but he's tough until. I mean, I met him when I was 20,
- 28:40so he was really tough on me until whatever.
- 28:42But anyway, the out lighter story.
- 28:45So of course I do the gambling stuff at MLB Network and I love
- 28:48my strikeout props Al of course, being the pitcher he is, he
- 28:51comes in and he knows I say my stuff on air, but he was really
- 28:55trying to test me to see what I knew off the cusp.
- 28:58But we're sitting in the makeup room.
- 28:59He was. I don't really understand this
- 29:01whole strikeout prop thing. Like how do you know this?
- 29:03Like how do you know that I'm not just having a bad day?
- 29:06I said, well, I don't, but majority of the days you're
- 29:08probably not having a bad day because you're going on the
- 29:10mound and majority of the days your analytics and numbers are
- 29:14going to tell me that certain matchups are good and bad
- 29:16whenever. So I go through my whole MLB
- 29:18prop spreadsheet with him of I my friend Matt and I have a prop
- 29:22spreadsheet over all the pitcher props, hitter prop.
- 29:25I mean hits a louder and runs a loud outs and strikeout props.
- 29:30So I'm going through the strikeout prop portion with him
- 29:32explaining how I handicap the strikeout props against each
- 29:34particular lineup and how I go through all the numbers and
- 29:37whatever. So he's asking me all these
- 29:39questions like getting he's like trying to get me like off the
- 29:42cusp, giving him like strikeout props.
- 29:43So I give him a few and he said if these don't hit like you,
- 29:50like basically I suck. Of course they end up hitting
- 29:54that night. He comes in the next day and
- 29:56he's still being a hard ass until the next day.
- 29:58Like he's trying to really like quiz me and the next day he
- 30:02comes and he goes, well, you really know your stuff.
- 30:05We were besties ever since he even asked to come on the show.
- 30:08He said he would do whatever. So that was those kinds of
- 30:11moments to me that I like live for, you know, it's.
- 30:13It's so interesting when you when you sit down or you're
- 30:16interviewing an athlete and they think they know you or they've
- 30:20heard of you, and then you sit down with them and they really
- 30:22don't know you. And then they're you ask him
- 30:25your first question and they're like, are you serious?
- 30:28Are you going to ask me that that question?
- 30:29It's like, why not? And I'll tell you a quick story.
- 30:32And Jabba wasn't a part of this show.
- 30:34I what we used to do when, when Speedy started to work with me,
- 30:38we used to get all the big analysts on our show.
- 30:40So I would ask 5 funny questions at the end of the interview.
- 30:45So there was a Chicago Bulls analyst that was on our show.
- 30:51And I, I didn't know how I was going to attack it in the
- 30:54questions, the crazy questions I asked him.
- 30:56So I said, Speedy, how do you think I should attack this?
- 30:59And he says, I don't know, I just don't want you to turn them
- 31:01off. So the first question I asked
- 31:04him is at the end of the whole interview, I said if you were a
- 31:08woman and you went out in town and you were going to go to a
- 31:12club, what would you wear? He looked at me and he said, I
- 31:17wish you nothing but the best. It was very nice talking to you.
- 31:21Hopefully we talk soon. I never talked to the guy again.
- 31:25And it was, I'm not mentioning the name of it, but it was very,
- 31:28very funny because I cut it up and I told Speedy to chop it up
- 31:32because every single time I think of this analyst, I see him
- 31:36on television. I'm not going to mention names.
- 31:38It always makes me I just break out and laugh because of the
- 31:42questions I asked him during that interview.
- 31:45Ariel I like. This part after this too, we
- 31:47also had I know you're Ravens fan so you like.
- 31:50We had Trevor. Price on our show X Ravens
- 31:52offensive live on the same day Ariel asked him the same
- 31:55question. He said he would walk out naked.
- 32:00I think that's a great answer. But he's always on this show.
- 32:04He always comes on this show and we always have fun with Trevor.
- 32:07But this guy looked at me like his mouth dropped, like I asked
- 32:12him, like I I was going to kill somebody.
- 32:14It was so funny. Are you on the?
- 32:16Positive side like Pedro Martinez was that for me in a
- 32:19positive way. Meeting Pedro for the first time
- 32:22was and I don't know how Jabba feels about Pedro.
- 32:25I freaking love that man. I walked in the first.
- 32:29So we got to do. I met him once, like years ago
- 32:31when I was interviewing an MLB. He wouldn't have remembered
- 32:34that, but we did a show. He did a full hour with my show
- 32:38off base at MLB Network. I was so excited, but I also was
- 32:42not sure because I didn't really.
- 32:44I heard great things about him, but obviously Yankees fan and I
- 32:47hated him. You go in the makeup room, he
- 32:50walks in, he looks at me and he goes, Ariel, I've been so
- 32:54excited to do a show with you. I looked at him.
- 32:57I go, really? He's like, yeah, you're really
- 32:59smart. You know your stuff.
- 33:00I said, Pedro, I've hated you my whole life.
- 33:05That crazy. And he just started the laughing
- 33:08and he goes, yeah, I get that all the time.
- 33:10He's the best. He's got the biggest.
- 33:12Head himself on. Every show he's got.
- 33:14The biggest head man, I don't know where.
- 33:17Obviously it was a great picture.
- 33:18It's like looking at Pedro Martinez is like a bobble head,
- 33:21just like staring right at you. I, I hated Pedro Martinez, but I
- 33:25love him as an analyst because he's honest and he's one of the
- 33:28greatest right-handed pitchers we've ever seen.
- 33:30I mean, the guy was unstoppable. Everybody talks about the
- 33:34greatest change UPS of all time. I got to say Pedro Martinez
- 33:37might have the best paint change up we've ever seen because of
- 33:40how hard he threw and he pitched in such big times.
- 33:43The only team that seemed to dominate him was his daddy and
- 33:47that was the New York Yankees. So he opened.
- 33:50Up our show that day, literally looking at the camera and saying
- 33:54who's your daddy? It was amazing.
- 33:57Well, they literally. After after that happened in the
- 33:59World Series when he beat him when he was with Philly, like
- 34:01they literally like did a full segment like who's your daddy?
- 34:05Like during the playoffs. Like he's I've always, I've
- 34:08always liked him. Like he was always great to me.
- 34:12Once you can like can start to understand them because at first
- 34:15it's a little tough. He'll laugh and crack jokes.
- 34:17He he's awesome. I I loved him.
- 34:19Instead he goes. Into a different mode when he
- 34:22pitches and when he's on the field it's his team or die and
- 34:27then he leaves the field and he becomes his normal self.
- 34:31He just has like 3 personalities.
- 34:33Game day Pedro, teammate Pedro and just Pedro.
- 34:36It's true I. The IT is true.
- 34:39I I. I meet a lot of different
- 34:41athletes, but the the football players are always the weirdest
- 34:44ones. The things the Yeah, you're.
- 34:46Kind of right they are. The weirdest people, I'm not
- 34:50going to lie, I'm not going to tell you some of the things
- 34:52Offset went before you interview them, but we were at the Super
- 34:55Bowl. I'll never forget it.
- 34:55We were doing radio row. Jabba was supposed to come down,
- 34:58but he had he had his son. His son was playing baseball, so
- 35:01he couldn't come down. So I'll never forget it.
- 35:03So we're, we're standing there and we're looking for guys to
- 35:07come because you know, during early in the, in the day,
- 35:09they're, they're walking, waking up with clipboards and saying,
- 35:11who do you want to interview? You can't interview him because
- 35:14he already he's got a full day, full map.
- 35:16So we set up and we don't even ask.
- 35:19We don't even know who we're going to interview.
- 35:21So people would walk by and we just pull them and say, want to
- 35:24get a 15 minute interview. And after the interview, they
- 35:27would come back up to us after is like, that was the best
- 35:30interview I've ever had as since I've been here all week is like,
- 35:35where did you, how did you, how did you do that?
- 35:37And I said, well, you know, it's, it's a good question, but
- 35:40we have it all. We're scripted.
- 35:42We write everything down. He's like, really, let me see
- 35:44it. And I was like, I'm just
- 35:46kidding. I don't script anything.
- 35:48I just want to shoot the crap with you.
- 35:50There was a football player that came up.
- 35:52I'm not going to mention names. And he asked me something that
- 35:56was unique, disgusting. And he, I'll just tell you
- 36:01quickly what he said to me. He said, well, you know what,
- 36:04have you ever spoke about somebody taking a dump?
- 36:07And I said, why? And he said, well, because, you
- 36:10know, before football games, I, the first thing I before the
- 36:14game, before I walk on the field, I would have to go to the
- 36:17bathroom because I was so worried or I was So what, what's
- 36:20the word? I, I, I felt uncomfortable.
- 36:22So I had to go flabbergasted or whatever the hell he said.
- 36:26And he he says, yeah, he said I'd be on the ball and the coach
- 36:28would be looking for me and the 1st place, everybody would know
- 36:31where I was, was in the stall right before you walk on the
- 36:35field. So I I said, well, why are you
- 36:38telling me this? And he said, well, because
- 36:40nobody asks me silly questions like this.
- 36:43And you seem to ask all the crazy ones.
- 36:46So that's that's a true story. And I'm not going to mention,
- 36:50but football players are real when you ask them a question.
- 36:53A baseball player like Jabba Chamberlain, when I first
- 36:56interviewed, the first thing he told me, I got 15 minutes.
- 36:59Give me the best shot for 15 minutes.
- 37:01You know what happened after 15 minutes?
- 37:03This mofo took over the show for an hour and a half and didn't
- 37:08shut up. And that's how the Jabba in the
- 37:11mouth really was born. So that that's a true story.
- 37:14By the way, Jabba said 15 minutes and it wind up almost
- 37:18two hours of Jabba Chamberlain true story.
- 37:21So I love that. Yeah.
- 37:23Well, Jabba, Jabba's been, you know, me and Jabba, it's taken a
- 37:26little while, but me and him are.
- 37:28We've built a good relationship. Jabba's a unique individual.
- 37:31And anybody that doesn't know Jabba Chamberlain, you got you
- 37:34got to watch the show because Jabba is more knowledgeable than
- 37:38you think in sports. But the my favorite line of
- 37:42Jabba fish, you got to tell them what's what's our you got to
- 37:45come on here. What is Jabba's do I know?
- 37:47This no. Jabba, what is what is his best
- 37:51line when it comes to attacking the subject?
- 37:53You ready, Fish? Go ahead.
- 37:54Give it to him. You're on mute.
- 37:57What is he? What does he do?
- 37:58There's a couple. What does he do?
- 38:00Go ahead. You.
- 38:02Give us like, you know, it's just, it's one of those things,
- 38:04you know, it's one of those things.
- 38:06It's one of. Those things, it's one of you
- 38:07got to make sure. You know, I'm coming with
- 38:09something. One of those.
- 38:10Things, even if he doesn't know what he's talking about.
- 38:12It's one of those things I'm going to make some.
- 38:13Shit up. So I know I act like I'm going
- 38:15to talk about I I've. Gotten to learn all of the the
- 38:19pronouns, the euvanisms, adverbs that he that Jabba Chamberlain
- 38:24knows that that is what I've learned.
- 38:25Fish are you? Claiming you're just one of
- 38:27those things called jabberish. Jabberish.
- 38:31Hey, I learned. I learned these from my
- 38:33father's. He was great.
- 38:35At it, Jabba liked. My shrimp cocktail.
- 38:40Everything's about BS ING. If you could confidently BS,
- 38:43anyone will believe you. Well, I could sell.
- 38:45I mean it's I could sell shorts to an Eskimo so it's all good.
- 38:51I definitely got to see that. I definitely have to see that.
- 38:55I could sell ketchup packets to a man in a white suit, so that's
- 38:58good. Oh man, just don't sell it to a
- 39:06woman. Hey, she could play it.
- 39:10Off, though if it's shark week, hey, it's life that happens.
- 39:17Oh my. God, we're going to get in
- 39:19trouble. She's going to get in trouble
- 39:21for this anyways, Joba. Joba.
- 39:25That's the other guy. That's not Groba.
- 39:27Ironically, I think I've actually competed against you,
- 39:32Ariel, because the only people here that's ever competed
- 39:35because I coached against Clarkstown North in track not
- 39:39that long ago. I think when you were there a
- 39:41little while, a little while ago, not that long ago.
- 39:44And I'm only a few miles away up in Rockland still.
- 39:48Coaching. Well, I graduated 2012, so it
- 39:51was kind of a while ago I was coaching.
- 39:53Track about 2011, 2012, 2013. Wow.
- 39:56I definitely did not run track though.
- 39:59I was the throwing coach over there, so we didn't run out of
- 40:02there. We sat.
- 40:05And throw both smack about us, bend your.
- 40:07Knee a little bit more. Throw it harder that's.
- 40:10Funny. That's funny, Small world.
- 40:13Well, it is. Anyways, we love you Ariel.
- 40:18We, we would love you to come on the show more often.
- 40:20You do whatever you. Want a sensational?
- 40:23Job, everything that you're doing, I'm happy.
- 40:25We have a friend. And Jabba, we always have a
- 40:27friend in me. I mean, you got a friend in me.
- 40:31I was like, where are you? Going you got.
- 40:33A friend in me, I'm not going to sing.
- 40:35I don't want to scare anybody away.
- 40:36But anyways, Ariel, you're doing so many great things.

- 41:09I have a lot of friends who do college sports, so it's not.
- 41:14I'm mostly focused in NBA, MLB and NFL.
- 41:17So any sports that I don't do, I always bring guests on to help
- 41:20out. Especially during big times like
- 41:22the first week of college football or NHL like playoffs.
- 41:26I always make sure that the big times are covered for sure.
- 41:29Well. I checked out all the different
- 41:32stuff that you're doing and when fish actually Jabba told us that
- 41:35we were going to have you on the show, I I knew of you, but I
- 41:38really didn't check out your stuff.
- 41:40What you're doing is unique, different and revolutionizing
- 41:44the industry right now. It is it's really cool.
- 41:47It's a lot of. Work.
- 41:49I'm exhausted and I decided that it was going to be a good time
- 41:51to get a puppy. So I am not sleeping and I am
- 41:56working a lot. But it's fun and I love it.
- 41:59I just, I always thought that I didn't need sleep, but after a
- 42:03few months I think I need sleep. So I'm going to try at some
- 42:06point. I've got.
- 42:07The perfect name for your puppy? Droba.
- 42:10Droba maybe the. Next one, Marley sounds pretty
- 42:15good right now. Marley, Marley and me.
- 42:18I love that movie it sounds. Like you only need one right now
- 42:21if you're not getting any. I only need.
- 42:23One, yeah. That's true.
- 42:24Anyways, I passed. The dog and went straight to
- 42:26kids so. Yeah.
- 42:29I chose not to go that route. Yeah, well, it.
- 42:31Wasn't my first choice. It just kind of happened.
- 42:33I ate, she said. She ate a salad and then Carter
- 42:36was born. So I don't know how it worked.
- 42:38What? What?
- 42:42What? I got to meet this woman?
- 42:45I got to meet this woman A. 100% now he's 1965, so yeah.
- 42:50Sweet. That's awesome.
- 42:51My. Dog wants your Pussycat.
- 42:57We have a female on the show, man I'm.
- 43:00Having fun She's she's a. Distinguished woman, What are we
- 43:04doing? Fish.
- 43:05Where's panties? OK.
- 43:08That works. I just always say you wish that
- 43:12was true. Breaking.
- 43:14News. You're thinking bagel hole.
- 43:15I don't want that visual. No breaking news.
- 43:19I need a dinner. This is what I have.
- 43:21To deal with breaking. News I need Britney also late
- 43:25night like. You could have a drink on this
- 43:27show or something and deal with it.
- 43:29It's not like 9:00 in the morning.
- 43:30Listen. No, I.
- 43:31I got my snacks. We are.
- 43:33The best in the business. OK, I just want to let you know
- 43:37you're coming on the show more often.
- 43:40You're just going to see even more crazy things that happen.
- 43:42Oh, I bet there there is I I want to now I've done a lot of
- 43:46crazy things on this show. I actually broke a record on
- 43:51live radio. I put yes, I see hot on my
- 43:56scrotum now. I had to do it.
- 43:58I had to do it because people I had to listen.
- 44:01I no, it wasn't a bad like you. You want her to come?
- 44:04Back I do. But it's but it's funny, I may
- 44:07have. Been like you won't do it, they
- 44:09told. Me, I couldn't do it.
- 44:11I wouldn't do it. So you know what I did?
- 44:13I did it. You want to know something?
- 44:15It was the worst experience of my life for 10 minutes I did it.
- 44:18My face turned purple and thank God, I still own a pair of you
- 44:23know what's, but nevertheless, I broke a record and now I want to
- 44:27do something that people have told me you can actually can do.
- 44:31I want to take a lighter and try to fart and see if it'll light a
- 44:34flame. So that is something that I'm
- 44:36I'm working on a betting building motion.
- 44:38Yes, I I try to break records here.
- 44:40I want to I want to see if this actually could work.
- 44:43Could that be on your? Could that be on your prop
- 44:45sheet? One of these.
- 44:46Days that would that would be cool if you said odds.
- 44:48Yes or no? Well.
- 44:50Right, yes, or. No, I don't want to scare
- 44:53anybody away when they see it, that's for sure.
- 44:55No, please. Don't I'm going to have to go
- 44:57sign up for some other show? I am a.
- 45:02Legend as we all. Know anyways, Ariel, you are
- 45:06fantastic. You do such a great job and
- 45:09again, we really appreciate the time.
- 45:12I know we've kept you on pretty long and I'm sure you're
- 45:14probably saying after you get off, man, those guys are nuts.
- 45:17But that's what we do. Nuts is better.
- 45:20Than boring, that's true. I, I, I would say that, you
- 45:23know, I, you know, some of these guys don't have any, but, you
- 45:26know, maybe the chipmunks hanging out in the backroom
- 45:29might know a little bit about that, right, Speedy?
- 45:31I don't know, I have. Any chipmunks but?
- 45:35What? What?
- 45:35What am I the? What am I the?
- 45:37Dave, who runs. Alvin, Simon and Theodore where
- 45:39I have a bunch of those guys. What the hell?
- 45:42Anyways, Ariel, keep up the good work.
- 45:45We'll definitely get John again. We'd love to, you know, you
- 45:49know, hit the, you know, hit the pattern when the when the
- 45:51playoffs starts, because I think it's going to be very, very
- 45:55interesting. Do the Yankees make the
- 45:57playoffs? I would probably make a
- 45:59prediction. No, But hey, maybe I'm wrong.
- 46:02Could you make some? Money off that.
- 46:04No, I make a lot of money off a lot of things I've said, but
- 46:07everybody has attacked me on social media while I'm saying
- 46:10it. So unfortunately, yeah, that's
- 46:12what that that's what it goes with when it comes to this show.
- 46:16Errol says something, and now it's time to just absolutely
- 46:18drop the hammer on him or beat the hell out of him or say
- 46:21whatever you want to say about him.
- 46:23So there you go. Anyways, Ariel, keep up the good
- 46:26work. Thanks guys.
- 46:28Have a great night. Thanks.
- 46:31The wonderful prop queen sports leader of them all, Ariel
- 46:36Epstein. Come on, Jabba, that stood out.
- 46:39We want Ariel to remember us. And we did it.
- 46:42We did it. Home run we did.
- 46:44Something. What kind of world record did
- 46:47you break? What was the name of the record?
- 46:49What do you mean the the way you pronounce?
- 46:51It the ICS the. Name of the.
- 46:53Company that that does the records Oh yeah, the.
- 46:55Gayness book world record Guinness gayness gayness gayness
- 47:03Ladies you know like the. Irish beer I don't.
- 47:05Like drinking. So I don't know anything about
- 47:08that. I don't know anything about it.
- 47:11It has nothing to do. With it, it's the way it's
- 47:13pronounced I. Just think they didn't put you.
- 47:15In the record book, because you mispronounced their name.
- 47:18Well, they didn't. Put me in the record books
- 47:20because they want to see me do it again, and it's not going to
- 47:22happen. I turned purple.
- 47:24I was sweating. I, my face turned blue.
- 47:27Really, I was the worst experience.
- 47:29I took 12 showers during and after the show.
- 47:33OK. And I thought I had to be rushed
- 47:35to the hospital. I mean, my sack was burning.
- 47:37All right, That's all I'm going to say.
- 47:39It wasn't one of those things that I would ever try to do
- 47:41again, and I actually did it. So kiss my rear end.
- 47:45Nathan was the. Motivator kind of getting you
- 47:47through the last two minutes. Boy, did he.
- 47:49Ever. I mean, he wouldn't shut the
- 47:50hell up. I remember that, Nathan.
- 47:52I am a. Legend Yum Yum butt plug.
- 47:55All right. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a
- 47:57new segment for you tonight and we call this CHOPPA Rules
- 48:01History in the. Making you ready.
- 48:03Jabba Rules, Rules, Rules, rules, rules.
- 48:08Are you ready, Jabba? You ready to give us all your
- 48:11rules of the dead? Yeah.
- 48:13So guys, this is our new segment, Jabba Rules.
- 48:16We're going to just ask Jabba. Either.
- 48:20What rules in life right now or what rules you want to put on
- 48:25somebody? We're just going to play around
- 48:26with it and you're going to have some fun.
- 48:28Don't put. Icy Hot on your scrotum.
- 48:31That's one of the rules, ladies and gentlemen, Jabo one your.
- 48:35Rules need safe words Arrow. That's that's the problem.
- 48:38What do you want me? To say, do you want me to
- 48:40pineapple? Pineapple.
- 48:42Pineapple. Pineapple nut sack.
- 48:45Sack it. Drop it like it's hot.
- 48:50Speedy's mom. Right here it is.
- 48:53Jabba rules. Jabba.
- 48:55You're up, my man. Yeah, we're going to.
- 48:58Start this off with, I think, a very fitting segment of Java
- 49:03rules where we're going to talk about the bullpen.
- 49:05We're not going to talk about the back and forth of what my
- 49:08rules were, but we're going to talk about the rules of the way
- 49:10I think this should go for what is happening right now.
- 49:14I have talked to people and have gotten opinions on certain
- 49:18things on how it works. And I think kind of what we are
- 49:21dealing with right now is as far as the Yankees debacle towards
- 49:24the back end of their bullpen is as we seen what happened with
- 49:27Devin Williams, He struggled all year.
- 49:29He pitched to an 11 early in the year, got it down to like a four
- 49:32and he's back up to a 5.4. And you know, you kept him out
- 49:36there with with bases loaded and.
- 49:39You know you. Got back end guys, high leverage
- 49:42guys that you didn't necessarily use in that situation.
- 49:45And now we have no idea who's going to close, who's going to
- 49:50set up and the rules being in what I feel like is for these
- 49:56guys to be successful, they have to have a set role.
- 50:00And if they're not going to do it, if they're not going to make
- 50:03the rule of hey, you are going to be set guy, you're going to
- 50:05be early. If it's Dovall coming into high
- 50:07leverage, maybe in the 6th or 7th or hey, we've you're going
- 50:11to be the set up guys, 7th, 8th. And we saw Bednar today get a 5
- 50:15out save. And so is that going to be the
- 50:20way it goes? And it sucks because when you go
- 50:22down there and you have no idea what your am I am I closing that
- 50:26day? Am I, am I the first guy out to
- 50:28get us out of a tough situation? Or am I setting up like we can
- 50:32physically get ready, as I've mentioned before, but mentally,
- 50:35how do I lock in? Like what what is my rule of me
- 50:39mentally getting prepared? And I think with what they're
- 50:42doing right now, it's you don't really know what's going to
- 50:45happen. You're kind of holding your
- 50:46breath of is it Ben are going to stay in for five outs?
- 50:50Are they going to get up Weaver like is are they going to use
- 50:53Tim Hill in a certain situation? Like, so for me, it's just
- 50:57trying to find a set of standard or rules or whatever you want to
- 51:03use to where they have an understanding of when they're
- 51:08going to be in the game. Because that is a huge part of
- 51:11being successful of knowing like when you come to work, I don't
- 51:14care what job it is, but it's like, hey, you know what?
- 51:17I have to get this, this bid for this job done by today.
- 51:21So I know what I'm going to do to get prepared for you.
- 51:24Smell my. Ass and to have that.
- 51:26And if you don't have that, you can't fully be the best self of
- 51:31what you need to get done because now you're just kind of
- 51:35laying in limbo. What are you going to do?
- 51:37Are you going to do I start getting warm and and getting
- 51:40loose and locked in at the 4th? Do I the 5th?
- 51:42Like do I, am I over prepared? Am I under prepared?
- 51:46So just for me, it's, it's just a debacle right now of, of
- 51:49nobody truly understanding what their role is and how to prepare
- 51:54for it and and how to make sure that they can get the best out
- 51:58of what they are. We all know they're not going to
- 51:59be perfect. It's baseball.
- 52:01But set them up to succeed. Don't set them up to fail.
- 52:04And. That's that's how I feel about
- 52:06what they need to do. And will they do it?
- 52:09I have no idea. Well.
- 52:11You you guys heard it. Some Jabba rules for the Yankees
- 52:16bullpen. Give them some rules.
- 52:18Make them define the rule of the.
- 52:20Shetray jabba. Where else?
- 52:22Droba, Droba Pass Liquor. I love it, man.
- 52:33I Ariel, she has to come on a show that is going to make her
- 52:38laugh. You can't go on these boring
- 52:40shows and just she's great. She's fantastic.
- 52:45She really is. And I'm telling you she will
- 52:47never forget that interview. And one of the main reasons why
- 52:50is she knows that you have to be open to laughter.
- 52:55And I don't think a lot of shows are like that.
- 52:57I think what we try to do is try to change that thought in in the
- 53:01process of what radio and entertainment is, is to make
- 53:04people see shows and entertainment in sports a
- 53:08completely different way when they watch this show and
- 53:11interact with this craziness. As we all know, I love Lisa.
- 53:13Ann he loves Lisa. Ann Jabba probably loves her
- 53:16too, especially when she stretched.
- 53:18And apparently diffitt. Also loves RG3's wife and Matt
- 53:21Leonard's wife I. Absolutely agree.
- 53:23Fish is not a. Panty dropper, he definitely.
- 53:25Isn't a panty dropper. Jabba might be, and we're going
- 53:27to have to ask the ladies. I mean, well, he's engaged.
- 53:30It's a little. Dated, but I'll have to get.
- 53:32I gave you a picture when I was 21 in the.
- 53:35I mean, we don't talk about him anymore, but play with my.
- 53:38Pickle corduroy suit. That a guy named Puff Daddy used
- 53:41to wear in the I'll be missing you video please I may I may
- 53:44have gone out on my 23rd. Day.
- 53:46And Ludu out in a limo with that.
- 53:48Suit so I don't know about that that statement that statement's
- 53:51a little erroneous on lots of accounts.
- 53:53You want my? Cream pie.
