- 1:17Speaker 2: that our pilows from Sue? I am Sue? Yeah, I
- 1:20Speaker 2: mean HBK Gang, one of the most underrated crews in
- 1:24Speaker 2: West Coast rap history, put Richmond on the math for
- 1:26Speaker 2: real for sure. Were you like like like going to
- 1:31Speaker 2: their shows, like they used to have, like the like
- 1:33Speaker 2: the like the Halloween Show.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I know, you know what's crazy when they were really
- 1:37Speaker 3: getting it lit. In high school, I went to Oakland
- 1:42Speaker 3: School for the Arts, so I was like being my
- 1:45Speaker 3: little artsy fartsy So so yeah, you're like, I missed.
- 1:48Speaker 2: She's just too heify for me, Like them little young
- 1:50Speaker 2: boys is going crazy. Their shows were crazy.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I missed all the fun.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I used to look on like my Space or whatever.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, like MySpace is wild.
- 2:00Speaker 3: But my mom would be like you don't have no
- 2:02Speaker 3: friends over there. You're not going by yourself.
- 2:04Speaker 2: You ever miss MySpace?
- 2:06Speaker 3: I do.
- 2:06Speaker 2: My Space was the best at all of them.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I loved myf I wish they would bring that back.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It wasn't too toxic yet. You could, you know, do
- 2:14Speaker 2: the HTML low key. Everyone learned coding.
- 2:18Speaker 3: So we all knew how to code.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And I used to looking put your profile together. Shit,
- 2:23Speaker 2: the girls that have all kind of like, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 2: bedazzled shit going on.
- 2:26Speaker 3: And literally the little glitter.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah, then the top eight and then you know. I
- 2:31Speaker 2: feel like the most important thing for me was always
- 2:33Speaker 2: having a like dope song from when people came to
- 2:36Speaker 2: my profile.
- 2:37Speaker 3: And you was really dope if you had the playlist.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, the playlist, Yeah, I'd be like, yo, which one
- 2:42Speaker 2: should be the first one when people come to my
- 2:44Speaker 2: I want them to know I know my shit. But yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 2: MySpace was a movie.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Love the MySpace.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So what was it like growing up in Richmond? Because
- 2:52Speaker 2: Richmond is one of those like various cities, it doesn't
- 2:54Speaker 2: get a lot of I guess love if you will. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 2: I always here about San Francisco.
- 2:59Speaker 3: H It was cool. I mean, I was definitely I
- 3:05Speaker 3: mean Richmond for the most part. There are nice, you
- 3:09Speaker 3: know parts in Richmond, but it was most it was
- 3:12Speaker 3: the hood. And my mom kept me really deep in
- 3:16Speaker 3: the church and like arts programs, so I was like
- 3:20Speaker 3: out of We were just laughing the other day she
- 3:23Speaker 3: was like, you were so nerdy because I would literally
- 3:26Speaker 3: like sign up for the little book report clubs and
- 3:29Speaker 3: stuff like that just to get new books. So that
- 3:31Speaker 3: was me.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So you was like doing all the extracurricular at school,
- 3:34Speaker 2: Like what kind of club do you got up?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Literally like the Richmond Powell Police program stuff like that.
- 3:41Speaker 2: What is that? Just volunteering volunteering for the police.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Well it was like they put it like I think
- 3:47Speaker 3: they were over it. But we would volunteer in different
- 3:49Speaker 3: little community centers. I want to I've had the homeless.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Do you remember? I don't know. I'm thirty eight. So
- 3:55Speaker 2: we had DARE.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I do remember. I wanted the Dare Essay program.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I was about to say I won the national.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I didn't win the national, but I wanted it. Like
- 4:07Speaker 3: in my.
- 4:07Speaker 2: School, I had to like go on stage and read
- 4:09Speaker 2: it saying, oh that's crazy.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Did not follow not none of that.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And I still have. Like I was going through my
- 4:17Speaker 2: mom's storage and she still has like all the I had,
- 4:20Speaker 2: Like I don't know what the fuck they gave me,
- 4:21Speaker 2: but there's all kind I'm like, I had.
- 4:23Speaker 3: A little certificate all of that. I had to read
- 4:26Speaker 3: my little essay.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's crazy. And then I ended up growing
- 4:31Speaker 2: up and smoking a bunch of hella shrooms. Yeah you're
- 4:35Speaker 2: a shoemeater.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Yeah nice.
- 4:37Speaker 2: How often are you just like a micro doser?
- 4:40Speaker 3: I'm a microdoser. There was maybe one time I did
- 4:44Speaker 3: not microdos.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Things got interesting, Yes.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yes, my best friend had to just kind of talk me.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You had a bad trip or a good trip?
- 4:53Speaker 3: I don't even know. I don't really know what to
- 4:56Speaker 3: call that. It was just intense.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Have you ever like taking a nice amount before going
- 5:02Speaker 2: to like a live show where you know it's going
- 5:04Speaker 2: to be trippy?
- 5:05Speaker 3: Yes? I had to actually sing snoop at a show
- 5:12Speaker 3: and conquered at the conquer Pavilion.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You you before you performed? You ate shrooms? Oh Jesus,
- 5:18Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and I didn't. I for some reason, I
- 5:21Speaker 3: was just like, this isn't gonna not gonna be strong.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Whooped me? For real?
- 5:25Speaker 2: So how did that affect your performance or were you
- 5:27Speaker 2: all of a sudden super.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Diald in I was dialting. When I had to get
- 5:31Speaker 3: on stage, I was just like, okay, I gotta pull
- 5:33Speaker 3: it together.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I was nervous the whole time before that because I
- 5:36Speaker 3: was just like, I can't get on stage like this.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy, Like I'll go to like I went
- 5:41Speaker 2: to a new team in Paula is going to a
- 5:44Speaker 2: team of polo concert a few weeks ago, and I
- 5:46Speaker 2: ate so much.
- 5:49Speaker 3: It's fun.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It's the best. But but you forget you're in public.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Sometimes you do because you're just sitting in your chair
- 5:55Speaker 2: and you're so like just you're in your own head,
- 5:58Speaker 2: your own thoughts, and then you were.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Like, oh shit, like let me come back, let me go.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Somebody like walked by and like was like I was like,
- 6:06Speaker 2: oh fuck, I'm in I'm at the forum right now.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm just fucking melting.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I love that. I love when you can be your own.
- 6:14Speaker 2: World with it for sure, for sure. So how long
- 6:16Speaker 2: have you been did you start singing in like church
- 6:19Speaker 2: and stuff?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I was a church baby. I start singing at
- 6:22Speaker 3: like three. Yeah. I just wanted to sing a solo
- 6:26Speaker 3: because I just had a lot of energy as a child.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So what kind of molded your like, Kurt, because you're stuff.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I feel like you have like a type of R
- 6:36Speaker 2: and B that like, we don't hear a lot of
- 6:37Speaker 2: in twenty twenty five anymore. Two R and B. You
- 6:41Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Like, what kind of motivated you
- 6:43Speaker 2: to kind of be like a traditional real like I
- 6:47Speaker 2: feel like R and B singers a damn near like
- 6:49Speaker 2: they got eight o eights and this damn near like
- 6:51Speaker 2: hip hop R and B fusion, Now you know what
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a little bit of that too. I
- 6:57Speaker 3: think for me, I just I want to take people
- 7:00Speaker 3: on a run and on a ride. Obviously, I wanted
- 7:05Speaker 3: to get back to like my roots. I know that
- 7:09Speaker 3: with the first my debut album, I'll say because I
- 7:12Speaker 3: put out a lot of projects, but this is my
- 7:15Speaker 3: first studio album that I you know, just dropped, and
- 7:18Speaker 3: I wanted it to just give me the feeling of
- 7:23Speaker 3: what I listened to growing up, Like when I was little,
- 7:26Speaker 3: my mom would listened to like a lot of Faith Evans,
- 7:28Speaker 3: Kelly Price, Brownstone, Tony Braxton. And I've just been in
- 7:36Speaker 3: that stage in my life. I think I'm at like
- 7:38Speaker 3: the age where I kind of am starting to get
- 7:42Speaker 3: their feelings and their thoughts and all of that. So
- 7:45Speaker 3: it's just like okay, like I get it, this is
- 7:48Speaker 3: where I'm at. So I wanted to show that side
- 7:50Speaker 3: of my womanhood.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I feel like when we get older, you know,
- 7:55Speaker 2: there's like music like seventies rock shit that I used
- 7:58Speaker 2: to hate when my parents would playing, and now I'm like, yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 2: I kind of fuck with the Eagles. Yeah, like I
- 8:04Speaker 2: could put the if I am like high as funk.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I want to hear some like trippy fucking seventies no.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Facts facts I'm like listening to like Denise Williams and
- 8:13Speaker 3: the Whispers and the stuff like because you get the lyrics,
- 8:16Speaker 3: Oh do you get You're like, oh got it.
- 8:18Speaker 2: So I've been in a green room with Snoop where
- 8:20Speaker 2: he's controlling the music and it is very much like
- 8:23Speaker 2: jumping into a time machine. It's a vibe. Yeah, what
- 8:28Speaker 2: was it about what you were doing that kind of
- 8:30Speaker 2: caught his attention.
- 8:33Speaker 3: He heard a song I did call like My Weed,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and it was very soulful, but it was hip hop
- 8:37Speaker 3: too because I raped. So that's what I'm saying, Like
- 8:40Speaker 3: I'm that yeah, yeah, but I'm not bars.
- 8:45Speaker 2: You got bars.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Maybe okay, depending on the day. That's why I say, you.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Know what, some weed bars Yep.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I never called myself a rapper, but I rap for sure. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 3: and he heard he heard that soulful kind of vibe
- 9:05Speaker 3: of like my weed where I was singing.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And rapping in So does he reach out? Who reaches out?
- 9:08Speaker 3: He reached out? He reached out and Instagram No, he so.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Raphael Sadik actually ranked this Yeah, and it was like
- 9:19Speaker 3: through a group text and he was just like, yeah,
- 9:23Speaker 3: I'm coming to see you. He came to see me, like,
- 9:25Speaker 3: okay this week record.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, he came to the Bay.
- 9:29Speaker 3: No, no, no, I was out here.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Oh you're out here?
- 9:30Speaker 3: Okay, I was out here.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Have you do you stay out here?
- 9:33Speaker 3: I stay out here now yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like a lot of people kind of
- 9:35Speaker 2: come to LA because this is where you kind of
- 9:36Speaker 2: got to chase the.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Dream, right yeah, you know yeah yeah, and.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Then it worked out for you, right.
- 9:42Speaker 3: It works out. I think honestly, I wouldn't if my work,
- 9:46Speaker 3: like literally my job is here, so if it wasn't,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't be here.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I feel the same way. Yeah, the way they be
- 9:53Speaker 2: in my pockets with these taxes. I'm like, man, listen,
- 9:57Speaker 2: if I didn't have to be here, I would definitely
- 9:59Speaker 2: be somewhere in Nevada, Florida, Houston. But just LA is
- 10:07Speaker 2: where it's just like what we do. It's like you
- 10:09Speaker 2: kind of got that. Yeah, it's like like everyone comes
- 10:13Speaker 2: here or they live here. You know, Hey, we got
- 10:15Speaker 2: to stop the interview to tell you about our good folks.

- 10:34Speaker 2: kind of reinventing the sock game, if we're being honest,
- 10:37Speaker 2: and the underwear game. You know a lot of times
- 10:39Speaker 2: you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target, you'll get some socks,
- 10:41Speaker 2: you get some draws. They're affordable, they end up with
- 10:44Speaker 2: holes in them. They don't really feel great. Not odd socks,
- 10:48Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen. These odd Socks Basics are the most
- 10:51Speaker 2: comfortable socks I've ever had on my feet. Not only that,

- 11:22Speaker 2: they got the six pack of socks for fourteen ninety
- 11:24Speaker 2: nine at odd socks dot com. The basics, this is
- 11:26Speaker 2: the future of socks, the future of underwear comfort and affordability.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the quality because they
- 11:36Speaker 2: are the most comfortable socks you ever put on your feet.

- 11:49Speaker 2: now odd socks dot Com. Let's get back to the interview.
- 11:52Speaker 2: So when you first meet Snoop, is it like because
- 11:55Speaker 2: I feel like Snoops. You know, there's so many people
- 11:57Speaker 2: who like we grow up idolizing and like you'll meet
- 11:59Speaker 2: them when you'll come in come tech with him, and like,
- 12:01Speaker 2: you know, they always say never meet your idols, you know,
- 12:04Speaker 2: but when you meet Snoop, I feel like he just
- 12:06Speaker 2: doesn't disappoint. Like he's Snoop Dog. He's what you see
- 12:08Speaker 2: is what you He's like the most humble, like nicest
- 12:11Speaker 2: cool dude.
- 12:12Speaker 3: He's literally like what you see is what you get.
- 12:15Speaker 3: He's exactly what I thought he would be for sure.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, how like, uh, did you guys bond on any
- 12:22Speaker 2: of your musical tastes when you guys were talking, you
- 12:25Speaker 2: know what?
- 12:26Speaker 3: Kind of But it's so funny because he'd be liking
- 12:30Speaker 3: to think he know where I'm from for real. So
- 12:33Speaker 3: we started bonding on like he like, yeah, I used
- 12:36Speaker 3: to be over wom I know where that's at. And
- 12:39Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, you know okay, So yeah, we really
- 12:43Speaker 3: bonded over the bay talking about the bay.
- 12:45Speaker 2: That's fire. Who's on your Bay Area? Mount Rushmore.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Hip hop for R and B.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Oh that's a good one because there's some let's go
- 12:55Speaker 2: R and.
- 12:56Speaker 3: B Okay, okay, Tony Tony Tony uh in Vogue okay,
- 13:08Speaker 3: Keisha Cole of course, damn Guapola. I was gonna say,
- 13:17Speaker 3: like between her and Letosy because let us see to
- 13:21Speaker 3: me like that was my like person I looked at
- 13:26Speaker 3: for sure, but guapola doo.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yeah, the bass got so much mm hmm. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Did you like when you end up getting because for
- 13:36Speaker 2: people who don't know, you have a really big song
- 13:38Speaker 2: at radio right now with with Anderson? Is that the
- 13:42Speaker 2: type of record that you're you already have it's got
- 13:45Speaker 2: on open you send it to him or you guys
- 13:47Speaker 2: getting together? Like what is.
- 13:49Speaker 3: The getting together? For sure?
- 13:51Speaker 2: I feel like that's the best way. I mean, it
- 13:53Speaker 2: feels that way I wanted.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I wanted that, you know. It was crazy because the
- 13:58Speaker 3: album was done and they were just like, you need
- 14:01Speaker 3: one more record and snoop he was like you need
- 14:05Speaker 3: that record. Buzz was like you need that record. Management
- 14:08Speaker 3: was like you.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Need but it's missing that record.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yeah that up tempo just yeah, so you know that
- 14:16Speaker 3: threw out, Uh you know Anderson ap and I was like,
- 14:21Speaker 3: all right, but I want to get in with him.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I don't want to do that.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm yeah, I.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Don't want to do none of that. I want to
- 14:27Speaker 3: get in with him. And yeah we got in. I
- 14:30Speaker 3: told him the exact vibe I wanted because I thought
- 14:33Speaker 3: about it the whole like I had days to think
- 14:36Speaker 3: about what I wanted to do. And I told him,
- 14:38Speaker 3: I'm like, yo, we need something like this, and he
- 14:41Speaker 3: immediately was like.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and we did it and I did it. He's
- 14:46Speaker 2: a a genius. He is was an alien.
- 14:49Speaker 3: He is so sweet, so cool.
- 14:52Speaker 2: I remember the first time I saw him, well, now,
- 14:54Speaker 2: the first time I saw him life he was opening
- 14:56Speaker 2: up for a Earl sweatshirt in like twenty fourteen or fifteen.
- 14:59Speaker 2: But then and I saw him like headlined by himself.
- 15:03Speaker 2: He was just doing the drum and ship while rapping
- 15:05Speaker 2: the whole show, and I was like, this motherfucker is
- 15:07Speaker 2: in shape.
- 15:08Speaker 3: He's different like that.
- 15:09Speaker 2: It's different. It's crazy. Is the song can't let go
- 15:13Speaker 2: about someone? Certain? Like? Is that about a person that exists?
- 15:16Speaker 2: Do they know it's about them when they hear it?
- 15:19Speaker 3: I'm sure?
- 15:21Speaker 2: So it is about someone?
- 15:22Speaker 3: Yeah, my whole album. That's where I get messy. You
- 15:24Speaker 3: ever want to know what's going on with me? So?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Is the album inspired by multiple people? Okay, anybody hits
- 15:34Speaker 2: you like, yo, what what the fuck?
- 15:36Speaker 3: I got blocked by one because of the album. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 3: I'm being messy.
- 15:42Speaker 2: What was it about?
- 15:42Speaker 3: Like?
- 15:43Speaker 2: What? What? What? What? What was it? Because you know,
- 15:46Speaker 2: obviously you know, this happens a lot people. I mean,
- 15:49Speaker 2: you have to draw from real life experiences and music,
- 15:52Speaker 2: but you never hear about like what happens with the
- 15:55Speaker 2: inspirations in real life, hear the music.
- 15:58Speaker 3: He blocked me for sure. I don't think he mad
- 16:01Speaker 3: I see that you and it's me not you. It's
- 16:06Speaker 3: a couple of us. Okay, it's a couple of us.
- 16:10Speaker 3: But you know, I think he just didn't want to
- 16:13Speaker 3: keep seeing me on his you know, on algorithm. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 3: so I mean he probably still has to somewhat because
- 16:21Speaker 3: you know, maybe, but I know he blocked me for sure.
- 16:25Speaker 3: But that's okay.
- 16:26Speaker 2: This love what's your What was there a song that
- 16:29Speaker 2: you were most like you kind of dove in the
- 16:32Speaker 2: most personally on this project that.
- 16:34Speaker 3: You feel like, yeah if I wanted? Yeah, yes, the
- 16:39Speaker 3: answer is.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Guest, what's the name of it? Let's listen to it.
- 16:44Speaker 2: How do I spell that?
- 16:45Speaker 3: And I are a j.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Mm hmmm. We're gonna break it down, and we got
- 16:55Speaker 2: a video or visualizer, which is nice. We got a
- 17:00Speaker 2: couple looking at each other fining cards or cards. You
- 17:06Speaker 2: look miserable, Brad and say school.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Than you want, looking pitiful, sitting down.
- 17:17Speaker 2: What you want to breaking house as much she used.
- 17:21Speaker 3: To, Oh, judge you all it down than you all
- 17:29Speaker 3: the things safe freship only know you went.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Bullship take you somethings time.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Still cat sinking back, letting them down.
- 17:53Speaker 2: You got such a dope voice.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Thank you?
- 18:03Speaker 2: So who inspired this song? Is it the guy who
- 18:06Speaker 2: blocked you? Oh? This is the guy who blocks you?
- 18:10Speaker 2: Was like the six or four part pretty specific?
- 18:13Speaker 3: No, that was actually the fake part because he didn't
- 18:16Speaker 3: drive that, but yeah, he uh, just to make it
- 18:22Speaker 3: very like clear. I'm over it now for sure.
- 18:26Speaker 2: But was the recording this mute? Because I feel like
- 18:29Speaker 2: that's gotta be a healing thing.
- 18:30Speaker 3: It was. I sent it to him before. I didn't
- 18:34Speaker 3: just like startle.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Him just ahead something.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I gave him one and he was just like you
- 18:43Speaker 3: know what he always does that really kind of speechless.
- 18:49Speaker 3: He's just like, wow, okay, that's how you felt. Wow,
- 18:53Speaker 3: But I'm over it.
- 18:54Speaker 2: You become a star and he's probably like fucked up?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Maybe are you pretty like a heavily evolt because I
- 19:01Speaker 2: feel like all the aesthetics whether it's the visuals, whether
- 19:04Speaker 2: it's the artwork. Everything is very very high level, very
- 19:06Speaker 2: very consistent. Are you very much like involved in all that?
- 19:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I love art, I love visuals. Eventually I could
- 19:14Speaker 3: definitely see myself going off into film, and I, you know,
- 19:20Speaker 3: I just like, I don't know, maybe growing up how
- 19:24Speaker 3: I grew up, we always were just like heavily into that.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Always knew people who like did some type of like videography,
- 19:32Speaker 3: and we always wanted to put a video to our music.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Whether it went somewhere or not, we always wanted to
- 19:38Speaker 3: just put visual you know, perspective to it.
- 19:41Speaker 2: One hundred percent.

- 21:48Speaker 3: It was probably that Hollywood that Marriott.

- 21:53Speaker 3: In America Canyon yet, oh man.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's it's it was cool because but.
- 21:59Speaker 3: I'm a matter of fact. Oh you were at that
- 22:01Speaker 3: one by Kings Yeah, oh you were ye oh yes,
- 22:06Speaker 3: we were in the yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a
- 22:09Speaker 3: fun one.
- 22:09Speaker 2: We've had a couple of I have had two very
- 22:11Speaker 2: interesting experience experiences in that parking lot. Shout out to
- 22:15Speaker 2: the boy, shouts to Valleo that as an Empire man,
- 22:19Speaker 2: I work with Empire for a little bit. We was
- 22:21Speaker 2: in Vallejo, probably more than we should have been. It
- 22:23Speaker 2: was a good time. But I was like when I
- 22:25Speaker 2: went to A Russell's house, I was like, bro, you
- 22:28Speaker 2: live here? Yeah, hell hella, fools are here?
- 22:31Speaker 3: Dog, Like, are you nervous? You know what's crazy? We
- 22:35Speaker 3: used to be cause where that is, where the pargola is,
- 22:39Speaker 3: is where my family. It's like three minutes away from
- 22:41Speaker 3: my family. So we used to walk and just talk
- 22:44Speaker 3: honestly about these days and about.
- 22:46Speaker 2: The future, like what what what?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Actually, Yeah, he used to give me a lot of advice.
- 22:49Speaker 3: We used to just talk, you know, and now we
- 22:53Speaker 3: just you know, both kind of moving around.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I think he's kind of changing a lot of like, uh,
- 22:58Speaker 2: you know, the idea of the possibilities of like being
- 23:03Speaker 2: an independent artist and absolutely ways to monetize your brand
- 23:06Speaker 2: that are untraditional. Absolutely what you want for a concert ticket,
- 23:11Speaker 2: no one's ever done that way.
- 23:12Speaker 3: He's killing it. He's killing and he said, he everything
- 23:15Speaker 3: he said, you know, he's doing.
- 23:17Speaker 2: What is the biggest thing you've learned from being around
- 23:20Speaker 2: Snoop so far.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Mmmm, I think I'll watch him and his leadership and
- 23:29Speaker 3: I also watch him, uh with being a leader the
- 23:36Speaker 3: human behind that, and I pay attention to that, you know.
- 23:41Speaker 3: It's yeah, he's he's he's the legendary Snoop Dogg. But
- 23:46Speaker 3: I'm blessed to witness sometimes the way he thinks and
- 23:52Speaker 3: in being a leader on the mic and with the
- 23:57Speaker 3: industry and just being a leader as a man. Right,
- 24:00Speaker 3: So I think I pay attention to that because I
- 24:02Speaker 3: want to be that.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like when you see Snoop, even if
- 24:05Speaker 2: you're from Afar, you know, it's like I always hear
- 24:09Speaker 2: people be like, I'm busy, I ain't got time. I'm like,
- 24:12Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys see like like Snoop
- 24:14Speaker 2: Dogg isn't.
- 24:15Speaker 3: And I tell people that you ain't because he's busy
- 24:18Speaker 3: and he hits me all he hit then he hit
- 24:21Speaker 3: is like five in the morning, five this morning.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's actually impressive. Were you because you were
- 24:29Speaker 2: on on the last album his album, which was a
- 24:32Speaker 2: very selept on project. I actually like that album more
- 24:34Speaker 2: than I liked the Dre album. Is it a crime? What?
- 24:39Speaker 2: What are you nervous getting in with Snoop.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I used to be. Now it's like more fun.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 3: He gets me into like a fun space, like okay, cool.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You guys get high as like Giraffe Puss and the stew.
- 24:52Speaker 3: We used to, we used to. I gotta slow down
- 24:55Speaker 3: on that.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yah.
- 24:56Speaker 3: I'm a singer.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say, how like because you're you small? Right,
- 25:00Speaker 2: so like is it does it affect your voice? Ever?
- 25:03Speaker 3: You know it's crazy. I used to smoke, so you're not.
- 25:05Speaker 3: This is a world from your announcement. I used to smoke,
- 25:10Speaker 3: but yeah, quit. Yeah. I do weed pills and weed tea.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Your weed pills is crazy.
- 25:16Speaker 3: They look like a little aloy you do, I don't
- 25:20Speaker 3: really do. Yeah. Yeah. Edibles are dangerous, yeah, but but
- 25:24Speaker 3: I'm very I use it like medication.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Well, I feel like a weed pill is more like
- 25:29Speaker 2: you know exactly what you're eating and how much if
- 25:32Speaker 2: someone gives you a chocolate piece.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I can't do that no more. It's like stone like
- 25:37Speaker 3: that for real. I don't been stoned for days.
- 25:43Speaker 2: That's one thing I will never do is edibles because
- 25:45Speaker 2: I've had the worst experience. I've I've over eight shrooms
- 25:49Speaker 2: and been all right over eating edibles, you'll be cooked.
- 25:53Speaker 3: No for real, and it's like and it can be
- 25:56Speaker 3: like lok.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I don't think people understand like when you eat it,
- 26:01Speaker 2: there's something about it that makes it psychoactive. Yeah, so
- 26:07Speaker 2: I've like had hallucinations. I've seen ship and I'd be like, dog,
- 26:12Speaker 2: what the fuck?
- 26:13Speaker 3: No, for real? I cool it off the edibles, but
- 26:16Speaker 3: the weed pills I could do. End the tea.
- 26:18Speaker 2: So you do weed tea? Nice? Yeah, that's great. So
- 26:22Speaker 2: I think breaking news Jane is no longer smoking.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yes, but I tried to hide it because people still
- 26:30Speaker 3: be giving me.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Weak When you first hanged Snoop, do you feel like
- 26:34Speaker 2: it's almost like, you know, if you were like if
- 26:37Speaker 2: you walked to the park and Michael Jordan was shooting
- 26:39Speaker 2: hoops and he was like, hey, you want to shoot
- 26:40Speaker 2: a ball with me? And I'd be like, of course.
- 26:42Speaker 3: You know, it's crazy. He never he didn't smoke with
- 26:43Speaker 3: me in the beginning.
- 26:44Speaker 2: But I'm saying, like, if Snoop's like.
- 26:47Speaker 3: And that's what happened, of course, Yeah, I smoke with
- 26:52Speaker 3: Snoop for sure.
- 26:53Speaker 2: It'd be like if Willie Nelson handed you a joint,
- 26:55Speaker 2: you'd be like, fuck, yeah, let's go. I just want
- 26:56Speaker 2: to be able to say I smoked with you.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Absolutely yeah, him and Warrang G. I definitely was like
- 27:02Speaker 3: I'm smoking with him.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Like what gee, I want to I just want to.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I want to go to Warrang G's house for like
- 27:07Speaker 2: Fourth of July and eat his barbecue.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Oh, his barbecue was so good. It was so funny.
- 27:12Speaker 3: This was like soer And this was like ten years ago.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I was out here shout out Adrian marcel I was.
- 27:18Speaker 2: With Hey, the area fucking guy. Man, he's very talented.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and we were working with Warrang G. And he
- 27:27Speaker 3: was like, yeah, man, I want you all to pull
- 27:28Speaker 3: up on me and my tailgate. So we think and
- 27:31Speaker 3: it's gonna be like this crazy like tailgate like some
- 27:35Speaker 3: Oakland colisem shit, and we pull up. It was like
- 27:38Speaker 3: out of elementary school.
- 27:41Speaker 2: But he's barbecuing.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It was so cute though. We were like this is lig.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, like I'm hanging out it is almost better.
- 27:49Speaker 3: It was like, okay, this is it's cool.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like not many people in this world
- 27:54Speaker 2: are like cooler than stupid. When you hang out with orange,
- 27:56Speaker 2: be like, butro, You're just a cool motherfucker bro effortlessly, like.
- 28:00Speaker 3: You could tell why they like, you could see why
- 28:01Speaker 3: it was all cool.
- 28:05Speaker 2: How long were you working on this album?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Like a good year and a half.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Where was there any music that didn't make the cut
- 28:13Speaker 2: that didn't fit the theme of the project? Mm hmm yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 2: Like what was like the pool of songs you were like,
- 28:19Speaker 2: how many songs were you kind of pulling from?
- 28:23Speaker 3: I didn't want it to be super long. Raphael he
- 28:28Speaker 3: was the one that was just like, hey, don't don't
- 28:31Speaker 3: have no long drawn out project. Get to the point.
- 28:35Speaker 2: So I was like, Okay, people have short attention span
- 28:39Speaker 2: these days. Yeah, and you want every song to really
- 28:41Speaker 2: like no skips.
- 28:44Speaker 3: We was like, you know, get to the point. I'm
- 28:47Speaker 3: the gull right.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So is he also like a mentory yours? That's gotta
- 28:51Speaker 2: be awesome?
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I worked with him first. I worked with him for
- 28:54Speaker 3: like over ten years.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, because Adrian was working with him, I remember, m hm,
- 28:59Speaker 2: I feel like and I.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Wrote I wrote every song with him.
- 29:03Speaker 2: A lot of people forget like Adrian had like a
- 29:05Speaker 2: cool little mixtape run before he had that.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Uh yeah, what was that song? He had?
- 29:10Speaker 2: Two Am? I was to say three AM, but he
- 29:12Speaker 2: had like some he had like a mix like a mixtape.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Era that was like some of my Like when I
- 29:18Speaker 3: look back on my career, I think.
- 29:20Speaker 2: About around that time Eric Beer had his mixtapes. Yep,
- 29:24Speaker 2: it was good.
- 29:24Speaker 3: It was a good it was a good time.
- 29:26Speaker 2: There was a good R and B mixtape wave coming
- 29:28Speaker 2: out of the West Coast that was pre cook like
- 29:30Speaker 2: cooking like it was a great time. Yeah. What about BJ,
- 29:35Speaker 2: the Chicago kid, I think he is one of the
- 29:38Speaker 2: most underrated, underappreciated talents him. Yeah, he's incredible.
- 29:44Speaker 3: We always talk about how we're going to do a project.
- 29:46Speaker 3: We're going to do.
- 29:46Speaker 2: One day a joint album.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we're going to do one one day. I
- 29:50Speaker 3: think we again. We just I'll be moving around. He'd
- 29:53Speaker 3: be moving around and then life. But he was one
- 29:58Speaker 3: of the first artists when I moved here. He was
- 30:02Speaker 3: one of the first artists that just pulled up on me,
- 30:04Speaker 3: like via Instagram, like, Yo, you're dope. I want to
- 30:08Speaker 3: pull up like let's work and we we did you.
- 30:11Speaker 2: That's hard. Shout out to him, man. Yea, besides BJ,
- 30:16Speaker 2: if you could pick anybody to do a joint.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Album with, Damn, I have to go tyl of the Creator.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Oh oh yeah, yeah, he's incredible. Did you I don't
- 30:35Speaker 2: know if you did you happen to go to Camp flog.
- 30:36Speaker 3: No no not this year?
- 30:38Speaker 2: No so good? Yeah you know what. I came out
- 30:41Speaker 2: of Camp flog Naw realizing that Tyler the Creator is
- 30:45Speaker 2: one of the greatest performers on the planet, but the
- 30:48Speaker 2: greatest performer in music right now is Doci.
- 30:51Speaker 3: She's killing it.
- 30:51Speaker 2: When I watched Doci's performance, was a problem.
- 30:55Speaker 3: I would love to do music with third.
- 30:56Speaker 2: I was captivated.
- 30:57Speaker 3: She's dope.
- 30:58Speaker 2: I was. I was so like, I couldn't I was
- 31:02Speaker 2: tripped and I was on shrooms by the way, both
- 31:04Speaker 2: but for everyone's performance as a campflog now I was.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I was on shroops. But Ship had me. I was
- 31:09Speaker 2: just like, I don't think anybody can fuck.
- 31:11Speaker 3: With her different.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I had after the shot just be like, hey, yo,
- 31:18Speaker 2: that ship up there. She was that, she was different,
- 31:22Speaker 2: She's different. It was crazy. Yeah, but Tyler is one.
- 31:25Speaker 2: I mean I think I think we always talk about
- 31:28Speaker 2: the Big three, you know. Yeah, I'm like, Yo, Tyler's
- 31:31Speaker 2: in that there for me. I mean, this guy's got
- 31:35Speaker 2: his own festival.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and just musically like I'm still an artist to
- 31:41Speaker 3: my core. So yes, he's amazing. He is talented.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I think it's like it's like when you see Chromacopeia
- 31:49Speaker 2: and Don't Tap the Glass come out in the same
- 31:52Speaker 2: twelve month period. It's like that's such a range of yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 2: high level music, but it's like artistically very different.
- 31:59Speaker 3: He can't be fucked with for sure.
- 32:01Speaker 2: He can't be with. Yeah, shout out to Tyler. Who
- 32:04Speaker 2: do you think should win Best Hip Hop Album at
- 32:07Speaker 2: the Grammys? We have Clips, gn X, Chroma Copia, Glowyali's album,
- 32:15Speaker 2: and j I D got like Ugly, God loves Ugly.
- 32:20Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Chromo Cropia because that's what got the
- 32:26Speaker 3: most play in my earphones. But all of those projects
- 32:32Speaker 3: are amazing, But I'm gonna go with Tyler. Yeah, like
- 32:35Speaker 3: he's I'm a fan.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I got a feeling. I don't know if anyone's beating
- 32:40Speaker 2: Kendrick ever after the gn X year, but I'm I'm like, honestly,
- 32:47Speaker 2: as long as it's clips, Tyler or Kendrick, I'm okay
- 32:52Speaker 2: with it.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's gonna be And g I.
- 32:55Speaker 2: D is incredible to ja. What's your favorite song on
- 32:58Speaker 2: Chroma coopia. Man, I'll give you mind first take. I
- 33:08Speaker 2: like to take your mask off song each one. I
- 33:12Speaker 2: like to take a mask on each one of those verses.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Like there's like a verse about like a mom who
- 33:18Speaker 2: like settled in a marriage and have kids, and I'm like, yo,
- 33:22Speaker 2: that's fucking crazy. Like the fact he was able.
- 33:24Speaker 3: To that's probably one of mine. Yeah, I think that
- 33:29Speaker 3: whole project to me is one like and and you know,
- 33:34Speaker 3: I love like all of the rollouts and the big
- 33:37Speaker 3: shebangs with people's stuff. But when you can have an
- 33:40Speaker 3: album that is playable from start to finish and I
- 33:43Speaker 3: don't got to touch my shit, it's you know, I
- 33:49Speaker 3: love those type of things.
- 33:51Speaker 2: But you know, are you already working on new music
- 33:53Speaker 2: or like how often are you in I'm definitely working
- 33:56Speaker 2: on Are you always cooking?
- 33:59Speaker 3: Yeah for the most part. Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Are you doing a tour stuff coming up?
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yes?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Tell me about the tour.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Stuff next year, I'm gonna do some tour stuff.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Are you gonna be going out with someone you're gonna
- 34:13Speaker 2: be headlining or what? Figuring it out?
- 34:17Speaker 3: I'm figuring it out, but for sure, I'm talking about
- 34:20Speaker 3: my own headline tour. But I would love to go
- 34:25Speaker 3: on with somebody as well.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah, what is the coolest thing about being signed to
- 34:30Speaker 2: death Row Records in twenty twenty five? Because I feel
- 34:33Speaker 2: like Snoop's quietly putting together this awesome roster of an
- 34:37Speaker 2: amazing R and B. You know what I mean That
- 34:39Speaker 2: there's like very when we think of death Row back
- 34:42Speaker 2: in the day, we wouldn't think of like, yeah, some
- 34:44Speaker 2: of these I think the biggest artists on death Row
- 34:47Speaker 2: or R and B. You know.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's just dope to be a part of, uh,
- 34:56Speaker 3: something that was just such a staple right in music
- 35:01Speaker 3: period and to be able to like keep that going
- 35:04Speaker 3: and hold that responsibility to really keep it going. I'm
- 35:08Speaker 3: excited for what I do next.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I love it.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It might be this, it might not.
- 35:14Speaker 2: You might be acting directing, Yeah, I might be tour
- 35:18Speaker 2: on the way.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 2: New album is out, go support it. Song is going crazy?
- 35:25Speaker 2: Thank you with Anderson videos out. I'm sure you got
- 35:29Speaker 2: more videos coming.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, absolutely. I have a lot of visualizers out
- 35:34Speaker 3: for that. I have a song a visualizer for each
- 35:36Speaker 3: song on the album.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Just because you have a visualized does that mean you
- 35:39Speaker 2: want to do a full video?
- 35:40Speaker 3: I did some full videos. I did one for Stingy,
- 35:44Speaker 3: I did one for Can't Let Go. Yeah, we'll see
- 35:47Speaker 3: what we do next.
