Latest / The Epstein Chronicles / Epstein Survivors Push Britain to Oppose Any Maxwell Pardon
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. Any talk of Ghislaine Maxwell getting a pardon
- 0:10Speaker 1: is absolute nonsense. If anybody ever deserved to be in prison,
- 0:16Speaker 1: it's Ghislaine Maxwell. And I can't even believe that we
- 0:20Speaker 1: have to have this conversation. Have we forgotten what Ghislaine
- 0:25Speaker 1: Maxwell was found guilty of? Now, I shouldn't be shocked.
- 0:30Speaker 1: That there's a lot of people who have just shown
- 0:32Speaker 1: up to the party. Talking a bunch of nonsense. But
- 0:35Speaker 1: the truth is. Anybody that followed the trial. Anybody that
- 0:39Speaker 1: followed the lead up. And certainly anybody. Who has listened
- 0:43Speaker 1: to the survivors knows. That Ghislaine Maxwell. Is as much
- 0:47Speaker 1: of a monster. As Jeffrey Epstein ever was. At least
- 0:51Speaker 1: when it comes to. Proclivities. This woman. Was willing to
- 0:56Speaker 1: use her womanhood. To lure little girls. into the belly
- 1:00Speaker 1: of the beast. So anybody talking about Ghislaine Maxwell getting
- 1:04Speaker 1: a pardon should do everybody a favor and shut all
- 1:08Speaker 1: the way up. Today we have an article from the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Metro and the headline, Andy Burnham needs to tell Trump
- 1:15Speaker 1: not to pardon my groomer, Ghislaine Maxwell. This article was
- 1:19Speaker 1: authored by Luke Allsford. Lara Bloom McGee, who said she
- 1:25Speaker 1: was groomed by Maxwell, age 20, has urged the new
- 1:29Speaker 1: prime minister to make it clear. Epstein's former girlfriend should
- 1:32Speaker 1: stay behind bars. And what does it say about the
- 1:35Speaker 1: president of the United States that anybody would have to
- 1:38Speaker 1: convince him of that? That should just be a foregone conclusion, right?
- 1:43Speaker 1: We're not giving this psychopath any kind of pardon. What
- 1:45Speaker 1: are you, crazy? But here we are, talking about nonsense,
- 1:49Speaker 1: talking about giving her a pardon. Now look, I'm not
- 1:53Speaker 1: saying that that's going to happen for sure. One of
- 1:56Speaker 1: my biggest problems is that we're having the conversation at all.
- 1:59Speaker 1: She's exhausted every avenue when it comes to an appeal.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But all of a sudden, she's going to get a pardon?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Every court in the land says that she should stay
- 2:10Speaker 1: in prison, but somehow she deserves clemency from the White House?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Somebody make that make sense. Lawyer Spencer Coven, who has
- 2:19Speaker 1: represented nine Epstein victims, said Burnham has a voice. over
- 2:24Speaker 1: a feared pardon of Maxwell, who was a British citizen.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Trump has not ruled out granting clemency to the former socialite,
- 2:31Speaker 1: who was sentenced to 20 years in prison on child
- 2:34Speaker 1: sex trafficking charges in 2022. Remember all that talk from
- 2:39Speaker 1: all these people that call this a hoax now? About
- 2:42Speaker 1: kids being trafficked in Wayfair? About Isaac Cappy? About Frazzle Drip?
- 2:48Speaker 1: About all this other nonsense that was completely and utterly
- 2:52Speaker 1: made up? But when they're confronted by real evil, by
- 2:55Speaker 1: a real monster, who's being protected by their team, all
- 2:58Speaker 1: of a sudden it's nuanced? All of a sudden it's
- 3:01Speaker 1: a hoax? Yeah, sorry. Nobody buys it. Many survivors are
- 3:05Speaker 1: outraged at Trump's new U.S. Attorney General, Todd Blanch, who
- 3:09Speaker 1: was responsible for moving Maxwell to a minimum security prison
- 3:13Speaker 1: shortly after meeting her last year. No basis for it.
- 3:17Speaker 1: No reason for it. Just did it. And nobody's up
- 3:20Speaker 1: in arms? Nobody's demanding that Todd Blanche be brought in
- 3:24Speaker 1: for questioning? Oh, that's right. Because even if he's brought in,
- 3:29Speaker 1: the clown show that makes up the Congress and the Senate,
- 3:32Speaker 1: they're just going to give him a pass anyway. Got
- 3:35Speaker 1: to make sure their God Emperor is hooked up, right?
- 3:41Speaker 1: One of those who railed against Blanche's confirmation last week
- 3:44Speaker 1: was McGee, who was just 20 when she met Maxwell
- 3:47Speaker 1: at New York Fashion Week in 2000. So what'll happen
- 3:51Speaker 1: now is people will say, what, she was 20? How
- 3:53Speaker 1: could she get abused? As if grown-ass adults can't be abused.
- 3:59Speaker 1: McGee told Metro a pardon for Maxwell would not only
- 4:01Speaker 1: be a travesty of justice, but a devastating message to
- 4:04Speaker 1: survivors everywhere. We cannot allow this. We will not allow this. Look,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I agree. It's unacceptable, and it should not be allowed.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And anybody who backs the idea? I consider them an enabler,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and somebody that should be looked into as well. As
- 4:28Speaker 1: well as being British, Maxwell's victims were also groomed and
- 4:31Speaker 1: abused at her residence in London, according to the US
- 4:34Speaker 1: Department of Justice. Asked what her message would be to
- 4:39Speaker 1: the UK's new Prime Minister, McGee said, Prime Minister Burnham,
- 4:42Speaker 1: stand with us. Use your influence to ensure that the
- 4:45Speaker 1: UK is a beacon of justice, not a sanctuary for
- 4:48Speaker 1: those who exploit and abuse. make it clear to President
- 4:52Speaker 1: Trump and the world that pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell would be
- 4:55Speaker 1: a grave injustice that Britain will not tolerate. What they
- 4:59Speaker 1: should do is open a case against Maxwell and try
- 5:02Speaker 1: her over there as well. Pretty simple, right? That way,
- 5:07Speaker 1: if she gets pardoned, she can't go back to the UK.
- 5:11Speaker 1: She'll go to prison. And frankly, if New York was
- 5:15Speaker 1: worth their weight in salt, they'd already have a dual
- 5:18Speaker 1: sovereignty case opened on Ghislaine Maxwell. But the unfortunate truth is,
- 5:22Speaker 1: the vast majority of people who say they care, don't.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Burnham has agreed to meet Epstein victims, but is not
- 5:29Speaker 1: considering holding a public inquiry into the pedophile's UK activities.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Downing Street confirmed this month. Coven, who represented Epstein victims
- 5:39Speaker 1: since 2006, called on the PM to support an independent
- 5:43Speaker 1: statutory inquiry into Epstein and say publicly, if credible evidence exists,
- 5:48Speaker 1: that anyone participated in in the financier's crimes. The attorney
- 5:52Speaker 1: added that the survivors are extremely concerned by talk Maxwell
- 5:56Speaker 1: could be pardoned after her lawyer said she would only
- 5:59Speaker 1: cooperate with investigations into Epstein's crimes if granted clemency. She
- 6:04Speaker 1: has nothing left to give. How many times do I
- 6:06Speaker 1: have to say it? She's burned as a witness. Can
- 6:11Speaker 1: you imagine Mark Agnifilo or Tenny Garagos getting their hands
- 6:17Speaker 1: on Maxwell on the stand? Because that's the kind of
- 6:19Speaker 1: lawyer she'd be dealing with. What, if she named somebody? Like,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I don't know, Leon Black? You don't think Leon Black
- 6:26Speaker 1: would show up to court with lawyers that are looking
- 6:28Speaker 1: to eat Maxwell up? Queen perjury herself? Come on, man.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Stop bullshitting around. There's a lot of people that have
- 6:37Speaker 1: no idea what they're talking about who really love to
- 6:40Speaker 1: hear themselves talk. Coven told Metro, victims should never be
- 6:45Speaker 1: placed in the position of wondering whether the person convicted
- 6:48Speaker 1: of helping... facilitate their abuse might be freed because she
- 6:52Speaker 1: has information that powerful people want. That would send a
- 6:55Speaker 1: terrible message to trafficking survivors everywhere. As to whether Burnham
- 7:00Speaker 1: could persuade Trump not to pardon Maxwell, the lawyer said,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Britain absolutely has a voice. I don't think they'd be
- 7:07Speaker 1: able to convince Trump of anything. We all know that
- 7:11Speaker 1: Donald Trump's going to do whatever he wants to do.
- 7:14Speaker 1: He doesn't give a damn what allies think, what you think,
- 7:17Speaker 1: what I think. Hell, what his base thinks. The man's
- 7:21Speaker 1: going to do whatever he wants to do. And it's
- 7:24Speaker 1: not like he's running for office ever again, he added.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I would encourage Prime Minister Burnham and his government to
- 7:30Speaker 1: communicate directly to President Trump that clemency for Maxwell would
- 7:34Speaker 1: have consequences far beyond American politics. Like, that sounds great,
- 7:39Speaker 1: but I don't know what kind of leverage they have.
- 7:42Speaker 1: What could the UK use as leverage against Trump? I
- 7:45Speaker 1: don't think there's much. Coven continued, the Prime Minister could
- 7:50Speaker 1: say publicly and privately that Britain believes Maxwell should serve
- 7:53Speaker 1: the sentence imposed upon her. Well, that would be cool.
- 7:56Speaker 1: That would be nice. I don't think they're going to.
- 8:00Speaker 1: The lawyer said that there are still questions British institutions
- 8:03Speaker 1: have to answer about how Epstein was able to operate
- 8:06Speaker 1: for so long in plain sight, while surrounded by some
- 8:10Speaker 1: of the most powerful people in the world. And it's
- 8:13Speaker 1: really a question that has to be asked no matter
- 8:16Speaker 1: where Epstein was. whether it's the UK, whether it's France,
- 8:20Speaker 1: whether it's Eastern Europe, whether it's America, wherever this man was,
- 8:25Speaker 1: a trail of tears followed. And it's not even up
- 8:28Speaker 1: for debate. Like you can debate the trafficking portion of it,
- 8:34Speaker 1: like how vast that was, how many people were involved.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Because as I've always told you, it wasn't like this
- 8:41Speaker 1: gigantic club where girls were being trafficked all over the
- 8:44Speaker 1: world to a whole bunch of different people. It was
- 8:48Speaker 1: select company and only very few people that were close
- 8:52Speaker 1: to Epstein or that Epstein was trying to bring into
- 8:55Speaker 1: the fold were provided with that quote unquote benefit. And
- 9:01Speaker 1: that's what Jeffrey Epstein was up to. It wasn't a
- 9:03Speaker 1: Heidi Fleiss cat house where he's selling girls on back
- 9:07Speaker 1: page and having them go walk the blade. That was
- 9:10Speaker 1: never what he was doing. And there's a lot of
- 9:12Speaker 1: people that still don't understand exactly what was going down.
- 9:17Speaker 1: The Senate unanimously passed a resolution last month declaring its
- 9:21Speaker 1: opposition to any presidential pardon for Maxwell, who has repeatedly
- 9:24Speaker 1: denied all wrongdoing. Yeah, well, every single court in the land,
- 9:29Speaker 1: including the Court of Public Opinion, has told Glenn Maxwell,
- 9:33Speaker 1: we don't want to hear from her anymore. Shut up,
- 9:35Speaker 1: do your sentence, and then disappear. Because nobody wants to
- 9:39Speaker 1: hear your yapper. Senator Jackie Rosen, a Democrat of Nevada,
- 9:45Speaker 1: said at the time, It's frankly horrifying that Trump would
- 9:48Speaker 1: entertain the idea of clemency for even a second for
- 9:51Speaker 1: a convicted sex trafficker. Look, I'm not a big fan
- 9:54Speaker 1: of Jackie Rosen. I live in Nevada. Not exactly what
- 9:58Speaker 1: I would call a great representative. but she's not wrong
- 10:00Speaker 1: here even the thought of giving Ghislaine Maxwell a pardon
- 10:06Speaker 1: is despicable never mind going through with it a government
- 10:12Speaker 1: spokesperson said our thoughts are firmly with the victims of
- 10:16Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein who have suffered devastating trauma And it is
- 10:20Speaker 1: right that Ghislaine Maxwell has been handed out a 20-year
- 10:23Speaker 1: prison sentence for her role. The prime minister is committed
- 10:27Speaker 1: to meeting with victims. We're looking at all options to
- 10:30Speaker 1: support them. Well, that's great. But how about we put
- 10:33Speaker 1: a little walk behind the talk? Because that's what we need, right?
- 10:37Speaker 1: We need people that are going to stand on business
- 10:40Speaker 1: and people that aren't scared to dig into the deep
- 10:43Speaker 1: corners and go into the shadows because that's where the
- 10:47Speaker 1: story is. Is the British government going to be that
- 10:51Speaker 1: group of people? I have my doubts, but like usual,
- 10:55Speaker 1: we'll be here every step of the way following along.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And when there's some new information to share, we'll get
- 11:01Speaker 1: it added to the catalog. Until then, that's going to
- 11:04Speaker 1: do it for this one. All the information that goes
- 11:06Speaker 1: with this episode can be found in the description box.
