- 0:09Speaker 1: boutleg kV Podcasts.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Special guests here, Street Hoop, Legend, TikTok Legend Now, YouTube
- 0:16Speaker 2: Legend now Cofresser. Hey, let's go. Man. Glad to be
- 0:19Speaker 2: here to see man. Yeah, it's crazy because I remember
- 0:21Speaker 2: watching you back in the day, man, like, uh, you
- 0:24Speaker 2: know when I was a kid, I loved and One's mixtapes.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I remember, uh, you know, obviously rest in peace to escalade,
- 0:31Speaker 2: uh big bro, skip to my lou who ended up
- 0:34Speaker 2: in the league, Raypah, Austin Hot Sauce. Yeah, there was
- 0:38Speaker 2: all these guys that were like celebrities bros. Yeah, and
- 0:43Speaker 2: then like the and One shit influenced so much shit
- 0:46Speaker 2: in culture because like without and One, there's no NBA Street,
- 0:50Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 0:51Speaker 1: The baggy shorts. Yeah, the baggy shorts. Just like there
- 0:55Speaker 1: was just so much that, like.
- 0:56Speaker 2: You know, I feel like, uh, and then an One
- 0:58Speaker 2: ended up in Walmart, you know what I'm saying, which
- 1:00Speaker 2: kind of made it uncool. But yeah one, yeah, you know,
- 1:03Speaker 2: new ownership.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I think it changed hands five times or something since
- 1:07Speaker 1: I was there. Yeah, so it's in the hands of
- 1:10Speaker 1: ownership now that you know. Has it been Walmart? I
- 1:12Speaker 1: guess they probably they're winning a lot of fun, They're
- 1:14Speaker 1: making a.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Ton of money.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You're seeing what Shaq did, right, So I think it's
- 1:17Speaker 1: Shack and and One is like the two head sports
- 1:20Speaker 1: brands of Walmart. So I'm sure they kill it from
- 1:22Speaker 1: a financial standpoint.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I was gonna say, you were eighteen when you started
- 1:24Speaker 2: doing A day and one stuff, right, Yeah, in O
- 1:27Speaker 2: three oh three. So how did you initially because obviously
- 1:30Speaker 2: you're very good at basketball, So at what point in
- 1:33Speaker 2: time did you say, well, I don't know if I
- 1:34Speaker 2: can make it to the league, but this is something,
- 1:36Speaker 2: This is like an ulterior or not an ulterior, but
- 1:39Speaker 2: alternative route I can go to be a professional hooper.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Uh So, So initially when I came out there, I
- 1:47Speaker 1: was really like a fan. It just kind of happened
- 1:49Speaker 1: on accent, but always trying to make the NBA, right,
- 1:52Speaker 1: But I was actually a benchwarmer at a community college,
- 1:54Speaker 1: so it wasn't it wasn't gonna happen. It wasn't looking
- 1:56Speaker 1: great for me at that moment. But after my freshman
- 1:59Speaker 1: year year in college, I improved by like three hundred percent,
- 2:02Speaker 1: Like it's crazy. I finally hit the weights. I'm playing
- 2:06Speaker 1: every day with guys who were going D two and
- 2:08Speaker 1: D one. I already spent all my time hooping, but
- 2:11Speaker 1: now I'm doing three days, you know what I mean,
- 2:13Speaker 1: Like literally make five hundred jumpers before class. Go to
- 2:17Speaker 1: class two thirties, open gym, hit the weights, come work
- 2:22Speaker 1: on your game again in the evening, either at a
- 2:23Speaker 1: different n stop or right there's a NonStop. So I
- 2:26Speaker 1: dedicated even more time to the grind and improved. I
- 2:30Speaker 1: didn't realize how fast you could improve. By the end
- 2:33Speaker 1: of that spring after my freshman year, I was like
- 2:35Speaker 1: the best player in the gym, you know what I mean,
- 2:37Speaker 1: with my with my teammates and stuff like that. But
- 2:39Speaker 1: then and one came, and the year before I went
- 2:43Speaker 1: to and one, the first the first nationwide tour.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They had it already poppular.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they had Season one on ESPN already. I'm a fan.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm actually wearing and one head to toe before him
- 2:51Speaker 1: even on there, like culturing it.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Trying the moves everywhere I go.
- 2:55Speaker 1: So I go up there as a fan just to
- 2:58Speaker 1: watch but I knew they had to open run because
- 3:00Speaker 1: I had played the year before and I got to
- 3:02Speaker 1: play one game against the players. I think I was
- 3:04Speaker 1: going against like sick witted at the time, headache and
- 3:07Speaker 1: those guys were up there. So hopped in the open run,
- 3:11Speaker 1: got some moves off, some people were going crazy, got
- 3:14Speaker 1: voted in to play against Team and one. And mind you,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I'm not even thinking the route of street Ball. I
- 3:18Speaker 1: actually don't even think I belonged there, to be honest,
- 3:20Speaker 1: because it was such like a hood in the city.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Right, you know what I'm saying, Like you're just like
- 3:25Speaker 2: scrining little white eighteen year old kid. Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I was just talking to half Man, Half Man, Half
- 3:29Speaker 1: Amazing the other day and he was telling me, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we were talking about the street Ball versus the NBA debate,
- 3:34Speaker 1: but remember he was in the limo. He's like, Yo,
- 3:37Speaker 1: we need to see that commercial member the Hood All
- 3:40Speaker 1: Stars versus the NBA All Stars.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I had a pair of those Vince Carters. I think
- 3:44Speaker 2: they were called the half Man Half Amazing. The Vince
- 3:46Speaker 2: Carters were like the and ones that were like one
- 3:48Speaker 2: one half color, one way and the Taichi.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, those they gave they gave Vince Carter that name
- 3:54Speaker 1: from him, though from I didn't other word half man
- 3:57Speaker 1: half amazing. Yeah, I think Kenny Smith took bit. He
- 4:00Speaker 1: knew half Man made the street baller.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But gave it to Wow.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember he was a little upset about that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But anyway, we were talking about that the debate. But
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know, I didn't think I was a Hood all
- 4:10Speaker 1: I didn't think I could be in the mix with
- 4:13Speaker 1: the Hood All Stars. So like I'm doing it from
- 4:15Speaker 1: a fan standpoint. You know, I played next thing. I know,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'm going back and forth with Hot Sauce in the
- 4:20Speaker 1: main and one game, and then they asked me to
- 4:22Speaker 1: go on tour. So mine kind of happening on accident.
- 4:24Speaker 1: But I did try to pursue the NBA up until
- 4:26Speaker 1: two thousand and seven. Played in the CBA, which was
- 4:29Speaker 1: like the G League. Yeah, and then the original G League,
- 4:33Speaker 1: the original G League.
- 4:34Speaker 2: That's how high I got.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But then, like man, the politics of the game though,
- 4:37Speaker 1: I lost some good when I.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Got in the game when they I think they got
- 4:41Speaker 2: to me there for ticket sales. Yeah, because you were
- 4:43Speaker 2: a name bro like you ended up kind of being
- 4:46Speaker 2: like the like kind of the face and won for
- 4:48Speaker 2: a minute, you know.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so I got there. I think it was like
- 4:51Speaker 1: a ticket sale thing. But then like I got a
- 4:53Speaker 1: little time, especially when the starting point guard it was
- 4:56Speaker 1: actually step On Marbury's brother, he got injured for like
- 4:58Speaker 1: three games. So started for three games. One of them
- 5:01Speaker 1: I had over twenty points, like seven assists.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Ye.
- 5:04Speaker 1: The other two I had like fifteen and five or
- 5:06Speaker 1: something like that. We lost one in one two. But
- 5:09Speaker 1: when that dude got healthy, man, they put it right
- 5:11Speaker 1: back in the lineup, even though we weren't winning a
- 5:12Speaker 1: game before that. So it was like the politics of
- 5:15Speaker 1: the game, you know, people looked at street ball actually
- 5:17Speaker 1: in that time, it was like it actually wasn't real basketball,
- 5:20Speaker 1: so it didn't fit.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Do you think it like worked against you because people
- 5:24Speaker 2: perceived you as a street baller and not an actual
- 5:27Speaker 2: like you know, professional Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Yeah, when it came to the conventional game, it was
- 5:32Speaker 1: a bad thing. Skipped to my lou even you know,
- 5:34Speaker 1: who played in the NBA for over ten years.
- 5:35Speaker 2: It took him a while to get in though.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Well he had to let go of his street ball reputation.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I remember my year getting on the tour two thousand
- 5:42Speaker 1: and three was the last time he even played any games.
- 5:44Speaker 2: He just stopped playing on the tour. And he had
- 5:45Speaker 2: a solid career too, and he had some good years
- 5:48Speaker 2: with Orlando and Houston. Like, yeah, he was good.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But it's cool because it's actually funny how it works
- 5:52Speaker 1: because back then it was a bad thing to the
- 5:54Speaker 1: NBA high ups. Now the All Star the Hall of
- 5:58Speaker 1: famers of today grew up. Why want so Like when
- 6:01Speaker 1: I meet you know, like Paul George or Kyrie, they're like, oh, yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 1: you're to watch you back inspired by you, But yeah,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I love it. It's incredible, grew up off you.
- 6:09Speaker 2: That shit's so crazy. It's it's wild too because like
- 6:12Speaker 2: think about like NBA Street, they took so many of
- 6:14Speaker 2: your guys's moves and put them into that game. Did
- 6:18Speaker 2: they ever like tap in with y'all like or like,
- 6:22Speaker 2: because they really took y'all's moves and like literally it
- 6:25Speaker 2: was just, I mean, a legendary video game. But I
- 6:27Speaker 2: can only imagine. It's almost like with the Fortnite dances.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Some of these dancers. You can turn off Fortnite, the
- 6:32Speaker 2: dancers are in the game and they getting credit, Like,
- 6:33Speaker 2: did y'all get any credit for any of the NBA
- 6:35Speaker 2: Street shit.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Uh, people would mix it up, you know, like they'd
- 6:39Speaker 1: ask us, they think it's our game. So we had
- 6:40Speaker 1: two games too, so.
- 6:42Speaker 2: We remember Street Hoops. They weren't great.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I think what happened was I remember the games.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I think with Street Hoops they probably saw that and
- 6:49Speaker 1: we're like, oh, we could do this better. Put the
- 6:51Speaker 1: NBA stamp on its probably goal. But then we came
- 6:54Speaker 1: we didn't add one Street Ball. I actually thought that
- 6:56Speaker 1: was decent. With Activision, that was.
- 6:58Speaker 2: A more I don't know if I played that one.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so that one was a souped up version, but
- 7:02Speaker 1: it was right around the buy out from Anywise, I
- 7:04Speaker 1: don't think got the marketing boost, and I don't they
- 7:06Speaker 1: were going to do a part two, but it got
- 7:08Speaker 1: bought out. Yeah, So I think honestly, they just saw
- 7:11Speaker 1: the wave of it and the NBA smart for them
- 7:13Speaker 1: to capitalize on the street side of things.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy because the tour was like I got
- 7:17Speaker 2: to go to one of the tour stops and it
- 7:21Speaker 2: was in an arena. It was packed the fuck out.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You guys had like it was it was like what
- 7:26Speaker 2: was like touring because it's almost like being on the road, right,
- 7:29Speaker 2: like if you're in the league. But it's a little
- 7:31Speaker 2: different because you guys are kind of like the new
- 7:33Speaker 2: h Harlem Globehouders in a sense, you know what I mean,
- 7:35Speaker 2: Like it's an entertainment. There's basketball, but there's also like
- 7:38Speaker 2: we have to entertain all these people. Would you guys
- 7:41Speaker 2: like let each other get your shit off?
- 7:45Speaker 1: No, it was always a real thing, and it was
- 7:47Speaker 1: always like real defense being played playing strangers, so we
- 7:50Speaker 1: didn't know them.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Yeah, because it was tea man one versus whoever was.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Best of that city in the city, right, yeah, yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: so they'd be but it was it was actually like
- 7:57Speaker 1: a very high level competition game. You know, there's a
- 8:00Speaker 1: lot of like myths of what level the N one
- 8:02Speaker 1: players were, but like it's a pro level. You know,
- 8:05Speaker 1: this is above college. This is like a pro thing.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So we would play dudes who played overseas, We play
- 8:12Speaker 1: like street ball legends in that city, and it was real,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you know, Like that was the beauty of it though,
- 8:17Speaker 1: was like there was even times where it didn't go
- 8:20Speaker 1: our way, but most of the time eighty ninety percent
- 8:23Speaker 1: of the time we'd go crazy. And honestly, that original
- 8:26Speaker 1: group was like special for the talent level was crazy.
- 8:28Speaker 2: It's crazy, man, for you, you've had such a great
- 8:32Speaker 2: like resurgence because I feel like, you know, I was
- 8:35Speaker 2: just an NBA con and my sons. I took my
- 8:39Speaker 2: kids there and they're both they both played basketball and
- 8:41Speaker 2: they're both like wrapped up. And I didn't know there
- 8:44Speaker 2: was like this YouTube world of basketball like YouTubers.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I was the first YouTube hooper on.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Accident, yeah, said, I didn't know. And we met some
- 8:52Speaker 2: other community.
- 8:53Speaker 1: What's this white kid named jess just t Jazz t
- 8:57Speaker 1: Jazz Tristan Jacks.
- 8:58Speaker 2: That guy, like my kids freaked out because he's walking by,
- 9:02Speaker 2: and I just I don't know who the fuck this
- 9:04Speaker 2: guy is, right, So I'm just like, hey, buddy, apparently
- 9:07Speaker 2: my kids know who you are. You might if they
- 9:09Speaker 2: get a pick. He's like sure, sweet kid, Yes, I
- 9:12Speaker 2: didn't realize this dude's lit like yeah lit yeah, yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 2: Like I had no idea because I'm on YouTube. I
- 9:20Speaker 2: look up a channel. I'm like Jesus Christ, Like it's
- 9:23Speaker 2: crazy that basketball related content is so big now and
- 9:27Speaker 2: what you do is so like perfect for today's landscape.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Like for you, like you've you've kind of been the
- 9:34Speaker 2: only guy I've seen from the era of an one
- 9:37Speaker 2: that I watched that is successfully transitioned into being extremely
- 9:41Speaker 2: successful in today's climate. Like for you, like, was it
- 9:44Speaker 2: on accident? Was it on purpose? Like explain to me,
- 9:47Speaker 2: like kind of like the run you've been.
- 9:48Speaker 1: On a little bit of both, you know, like and
- 9:51Speaker 1: one ended in Uh oh wait, well you got to
- 9:53Speaker 1: think I'm only twenty four or twenty five years old,
- 9:56Speaker 1: So like I feel, like I said, playing career right.
- 9:59Speaker 1: But I found out YouTube when it came out like
- 10:01Speaker 1: four you know, like we would even go overseas and
- 10:04Speaker 1: people would approach me and be like, you know, show
- 10:06Speaker 1: love or whatever.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Now out of habit.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'd say, hey, thanks for checking out the show me
- 10:10Speaker 1: our ESPN show, and they'd be like, oh no, I
- 10:12Speaker 1: saw your stuff on YouTube. So I started looking into
- 10:14Speaker 1: it about four.
- 10:15Speaker 2: H five because your clips are up there.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Yeah, So they would rip our clips from the show
- 10:20Speaker 1: channels make a compilation millions every single one had millions
- 10:24Speaker 1: of views. So I got a homie who was an
- 10:27Speaker 1: editor who's from like, you know, my home city, and
- 10:29Speaker 1: I paid them a little bit st from I'm from Kaiser, Organs,
- 10:32Speaker 1: very small.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Town organ man yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 1: But anyway, well I live here twenty years but from
- 10:39Speaker 1: Oregon originally. But anyway, I tried to flood YouTube to
- 10:42Speaker 1: get bookings. You know, you used to be able to
- 10:43Speaker 1: get a DM on YouTube, So I started trying to
- 10:46Speaker 1: flood it like that. But then when and when ended
- 10:48Speaker 1: in eight started my own channel because YouTube adsence just
- 10:51Speaker 1: came out, I think eight or nine. So I started
- 10:53Speaker 1: my own channel. Oh nine, you're up, you're early. Yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 1: And I was like knowing that I could get international
- 10:58Speaker 1: bookings because while one went down in the US in
- 11:02Speaker 1: popularity once I got bought out and not on ESPN overseas,
- 11:05Speaker 1: it was like and social media and that, you know,
- 11:08Speaker 1: before social media couldn't really keep up with the narrative
- 11:10Speaker 1: of a different country, so they're thinking it's still like
- 11:14Speaker 1: topped off. So I would play like and one, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: Brazil and one Africa, and yeah, I was doing these
- 11:20Speaker 1: one off games. So I built YouTube to get live
- 11:23Speaker 1: show bookings.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:24Speaker 1: But then twenty thirteen I went viral and I got
- 11:28Speaker 1: a million subs in like one day.
- 11:30Speaker 2: What the fuck? What video was it?
- 11:32Speaker 1: It was a Spider Man basketball I dressed up as
- 11:35Speaker 1: Spider Man suit and I played people one on one
- 11:37Speaker 1: at the park, and I think and it did it
- 11:39Speaker 1: for like twenty minutes.
- 11:40Speaker 2: But I made every shot.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Every trick worked, So it just was perfect edited that
- 11:45Speaker 1: joints us a three minute video. But you know, back
- 11:47Speaker 1: then it was so it was a six million a week,
- 11:50Speaker 1: but back then that was like fifty million a week,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know.
- 11:52Speaker 2: No, no, no, it was a lot harder. And then
- 11:54Speaker 2: the views counted for like a lot more and the
- 11:56Speaker 2: ad sense was much better back then. Yeah, yeah, it
- 11:59Speaker 2: was way different.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So yeah, so just for for that six million a week,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I could hit it by every mediality that you know, CNN, NBC, MTV, ESPN,
- 12:08Speaker 1: you know, so.
- 12:09Speaker 2: For you like like that was kind of did you
- 12:11Speaker 2: realize at that point in time that there was the
- 12:13Speaker 2: real money was being a content creator?
- 12:16Speaker 1: It started to be clear, It started to be clear. Yeah,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, I was just thinking such like a hooper though,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you know, like back in the and one day when
- 12:26Speaker 1: it ended and all that, I was just thinking, like,
- 12:29Speaker 1: you know, am I still pursuing the NBA? Where am
- 12:31Speaker 1: I going to hoop?
- 12:32Speaker 2: Now? Going overseas on kids going to Gili?
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yeah, not knowing as I'm uploading, I'm doing my job.
- 12:39Speaker 1: We're good, you know, but it took a viral spike
- 12:41Speaker 1: to turn it into a business like real fast.
- 12:42Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. You're like, oh, this is
- 12:45Speaker 2: this is it? This is it. Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 1: And I thought about it even back in the day
- 12:48Speaker 1: when I first heard about YouTube, because I knew it
- 12:50Speaker 1: was in a few other countries because internationally they'd recognize
- 12:52Speaker 1: us from it. And I remember saying to myself, I'm like, oh,
- 12:55Speaker 1: this is like TV. This is like I said, free distribution.
- 13:00Speaker 1: But then when it came to fruition as a business,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, literally, it's TV, like like way higher
- 13:06Speaker 1: than you know, we never thought it.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Would be like today, right, it's like the go to.
- 13:08Speaker 2: But what about TikTok? When did TikTok really take off
- 13:11Speaker 2: for you? Because you got a shit ton of followers.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Were trying to go crazy on TikTok. Yeah, it's great.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Could you can you make money on TikTok? I know that,
- 13:19Speaker 1: like you can. You can get it like when it's monetized.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I've had people tell me once you monetize your TikTok,
- 13:26Speaker 1: they start fucking with your algorithm. No, okay, here's the truth.
- 13:29Speaker 1: You don't really make. It's like YouTube shorts, you don't really.
- 13:31Speaker 2: You don't make much because the YouTube shorts you'll be
- 13:33Speaker 2: like I got I got an interview clip that has
- 13:35Speaker 2: like three million views and I think I made twenty
- 13:40Speaker 2: nine dollars.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah something like that. Yeah, I've done thirty million. It
- 13:43Speaker 1: made like not a couple.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Of like yeah, right, it's like what do we do it? Yeah?
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, No, my TikTok I got three and a half
- 13:49Speaker 1: billion views and I made eight thousand dollars. So it
- 13:52Speaker 1: pays a little more on YouTube shorts.
- 13:53Speaker 2: But yeah, but it's a commercial for your YouTube channel
- 13:58Speaker 2: kind of right, yeah, and my thing commercial for your brand. Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 1: And when when I started take off on YouTube and
- 14:05Speaker 1: pressing to social media, I started realizing the value like early,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you should be on every platform everything.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Anything that drops. I signed up for the Dame like
- 14:11Speaker 2: just in case, you know.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, and when it's new, pressing and go hard because
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know they're pushing everything. Like so with YouTube, I
- 14:17Speaker 1: would think I was actually a year late to you
- 14:19Speaker 1: to TikTok. Yeah, to be honest, but once I got
- 14:23Speaker 1: on my first video, I didn't put no effort in.
- 14:25Speaker 1: It got like five and a half million views. It
- 14:26Speaker 1: was on Halloween. I was dressed as a Joker. My
- 14:28Speaker 1: cousin was Batman. So the Joker movie song was trending.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so we just did I did a little dribble
- 14:36Speaker 2: as the Joker, like nothing, not.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Even anything crazy. Yeah, but it just went crazy. But
- 14:40Speaker 1: like five and a half million views. I was like, oh,
- 14:42Speaker 1: there might be something here. Yes, I should use it.
- 14:45Speaker 2: You know, it's crazy because you watch like I just
- 14:47Speaker 2: watched The White Men Can't Jump video, a movie with
- 14:50Speaker 2: Jack Harlow, which was actually a lot better than I
- 14:54Speaker 2: thought it was gonna be. Do you ever have you
- 14:58Speaker 2: ever had a point in time where you were hustling
- 15:00Speaker 2: people at the park?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Oh, I live White Man Can't Jump today?
- 15:03Speaker 2: Like still, I know you do it on this on
- 15:05Speaker 2: like TikTok. Will you like show up like dressed as
- 15:07Speaker 2: like a McDonald's employee or something. But I mean, like
- 15:09Speaker 2: when the cameras aren't rolling, like maybe you're in a
- 15:12Speaker 2: different city or you're like you know what, Oh, I
- 15:15Speaker 2: see what you're saying. Now, have you ever like pulled
- 15:17Speaker 2: up to the park and been like I'm gonna just
- 15:19Speaker 2: it's almost like being.
- 15:20Speaker 1: A pool shark, right, Well, somebody there is gonna know
- 15:23Speaker 1: me now now they will. Yeah, but you've never done
- 15:26Speaker 1: that in like ever old just period, just hustled somebody
- 15:28Speaker 1: out of somebody at the park because they just assume
- 15:32Speaker 1: you're like the geeky white dude, And well I grew
- 15:35Speaker 1: up doing it. I mean I feel like I grew
- 15:37Speaker 1: up doing that literally and then up until I don't know,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I think as of like twenty fifteen.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Though you're too famous.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I only play if we're rolling for you the vlog,
- 15:47Speaker 1: if we're rolling for social media, Like I won't even
- 15:50Speaker 1: do open runs or nothing only because of injury risk
- 15:52Speaker 1: though you know thirty nine right now hurt, Yeah, yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: you get hurt, then you can't do your grind. It
- 15:56Speaker 1: actually doesn't make any sense the older I get. It's
- 15:58Speaker 1: just like the league, right, you pay too much outside
- 16:00Speaker 1: these when I tell everybody, like it's really easy to
- 16:02Speaker 1: watch the Big Three and be like he still got it, Like, yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: he still got it for a half court game once
- 16:09Speaker 1: a week, But I don't know if he's still got it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: For eighty two games.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It's a lot different, right, People have a lot of
- 16:14Speaker 1: spin past the normal like hooping age, which you're right
- 16:18Speaker 1: that eighty two games brutal, Like I just saw Jay
- 16:20Speaker 1: Rich get up at Big Three and like almost hit
- 16:22Speaker 1: his head on the fucking rim again.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yes, but can he sustain being healthy for a whole season?
- 16:29Speaker 2: You know it's hard.
- 16:30Speaker 1: But like, for like, it's hard for me to stay
- 16:32Speaker 1: healthy doing YouTube.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah it's crazy, you know what I mean?
- 16:35Speaker 1: But it's been good and honestly, like that's the cool parts.
- 16:38Speaker 1: My lane is kind of unexplored because once you're about
- 16:41Speaker 1: thirty five playing in the league, right, it's too many
- 16:43Speaker 1: miles for your body. It's gonna be hard for you
- 16:45Speaker 1: to sustain unless you're like a Vince Carter or Lebron,
- 16:47Speaker 1: you know, world class athlete. But for me, like I'm
- 16:51Speaker 1: you Donis Haslim who you know, it's kind of like,
- 16:53Speaker 1: oh he kept going, he's kind of like a coach.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Yeah no, but I mean, heyde was insane athlete, right.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Sane athlete? Yes, and one of the guys you did
- 16:59Speaker 2: not want to throw hands within the league.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, true, sorry.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Like him and Zebo growing up, Like, I don't know
- 17:04Speaker 2: if you would ever want to fight either one of
- 17:06Speaker 2: those guys.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, But you know, for me, I feel like
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm just as quick as I wasn't oh five, Like.
- 17:13Speaker 2: It's crazy because you could have went like you probably
- 17:14Speaker 2: could have win a few different directions, right, you might
- 17:16Speaker 2: have could have went the Chris Brickley direction and like
- 17:18Speaker 2: trained guys, and he's done a good job of like
- 17:21Speaker 2: doing content and also like obviously training players. But kill it.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I think like the YouTube wave is I mean, it's
- 17:27Speaker 2: it's it's it man.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I love I love entertaining, like entertainment production, even acting.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I've acted for twenty years. I never had like heavy
- 17:35Speaker 1: prominent role.
- 17:36Speaker 2: What the movies have you been?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Was re saying that hustle, you know, Adam Sandler's had
- 17:40Speaker 1: like cameo.
- 17:42Speaker 2: What's what's the guy's name? Fucking the dude that looks
- 17:46Speaker 2: like you? Kind of Oh, you're talking about the lead?
- 17:49Speaker 2: Herr go what's his name? Something? Go be her Gomez. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 2: some shot. It's no, it's not even that I'm blinking.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I'm blinking.
- 17:59Speaker 1: You know.
- 17:59Speaker 2: It's goss. It's something gomes. It starts with an H.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I don't know, mess goo google it held up, it's
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's I know he has honcho' it's honcho or wan
- 18:11Speaker 1: Sho is his name?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Hearing a Gomez? Yeah, I know his last name. I
- 18:16Speaker 2: don't know his first name.
- 18:17Speaker 1: There is Wan Sho, Wan Show or Han Sho. You know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: he's a cool cat man. I feel like he's my bro.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I should know. Any Edwards is a great actor too.
- 18:25Speaker 1: But they both did their Yeah, they super did their thing,
- 18:27Speaker 1: and that that was really dope. Other other films I've
- 18:29Speaker 1: been in, like like a When I say acting, you're
- 18:32Speaker 1: doing like fifty to one hundred commercials for any brand,
- 18:34Speaker 1: every bring.
- 18:35Speaker 2: You can think of.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But then also, uh, I first moved to la O six.
- 18:39Speaker 1: I actually had a lead role in the movie. It's
- 18:40Speaker 1: called Bald Don't Lie And it never got released.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Damn. That's gotta be tough. Did you get paid for it?
- 18:46Speaker 1: I got paid for it, yeah, but not much. You
- 18:48Speaker 1: know indie film, right, But you're like, damn, I just
- 18:51Speaker 1: want it for me.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Can I get it on it? Do you have it
- 18:53Speaker 2: on DVD or something? Yeah?
- 18:54Speaker 1: I do have it, but we're trying to release it today.
- 18:56Speaker 1: We're trying to get it released now. I met up
- 18:58Speaker 1: with those producers for the first time in like fifteen years.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, why not put it on two B or something?
- 19:02Speaker 1: That was our thought for the resume.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, dude, that we made the movie, like yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 2: like it's gonna lose it, like unless it's like horrible
- 19:09Speaker 2: and you're gonna get canceled because you shot at a No.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Six and you know no, I mean, we're not gonna
- 19:14Speaker 1: win no Awards. But it's not horrible. That good basketball,
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but they're making some good basketball movies recently. Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 1: a lot more too, because you used to only get
- 19:23Speaker 1: a basket when we were every few years.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I just watched this one on Disney Plus when my
- 19:26Speaker 2: kids about an Asian dude trying to dunk. It's called
- 19:29Speaker 2: Chang Chain Can't dunk.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Or God it was actually not I didn't even hear
- 19:34Speaker 1: about this on Disney Plus.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It's about this Asian kid who goes viral on YouTube
- 19:39Speaker 2: trying to uh document the process of him trying to
- 19:43Speaker 2: dunk because he has a bet with another kid at
- 19:46Speaker 2: his high school that he can dunk, huh. And then
- 19:48Speaker 2: he ends up faking him dunking for the YouTube vie.
- 19:53Speaker 2: But then he gets all out for and to apologize.
- 19:55Speaker 2: It's actually really good. It's a Disney original. Check it out.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Oh it's Disney Wow. I'm telling you, you guys, you
- 20:02Speaker 2: and this other fucking guy we just talked about. You
- 20:03Speaker 2: guys are making this basketball shit like popping a whole
- 20:06Speaker 2: different way.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Bro, trying to man, trying to go for it. I'm
- 20:08Speaker 1: actually trying to hoop till twenty thirty four. Fifty years old, dad.
- 20:11Speaker 2: That I mean you probably go till sixty because they
- 20:13Speaker 2: guess what that yes, what that means? Well, that's that's
- 20:16Speaker 2: a YouTube title, sixty year old break some guys ankle
- 20:20Speaker 2: at the park.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It's like the real Uncle Drew.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Oh for real guys. Hopp, The interviewer said about our

- 23:04Speaker 2: the interview for you, Like, how do you like, like,
- 23:06Speaker 2: are you pretty health conscientious? Are you like obviously you're
- 23:09Speaker 2: not running you know, full court runs outside of being
- 23:12Speaker 2: on film. But are you like making sure that you're
- 23:15Speaker 2: taking the precautions to not you know, be injured. Oh yeah,
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm training a lot.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I try super active, So train twice a week
- 23:22Speaker 1: with like functional movement training, a lot of core stuff.
- 23:25Speaker 1: It's like the same kind of training.
- 23:26Speaker 2: That you still look like you're fucking eighteen. By the way,
- 23:29Speaker 2: humble man, they say black that hey, they say black.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Don't crack, gingers, don't crack.
- 23:34Speaker 1: My goodness, We're trying, man, trying, Thank you, bro. But no, Yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: functional movement training. I live in marine. I run the
- 23:41Speaker 1: water like three times a week, and then I hoop
- 23:43Speaker 1: on top of that. So if we're going hooping, the
- 23:45Speaker 1: functional movement training plus running, it's very active on a
- 23:49Speaker 1: weekly basis. So even if don't hoop that much, still
- 23:51Speaker 1: gotta stay moving, you gotta. That's one key to longevity.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Is just like even if you run and you don't
- 23:57Speaker 1: get a good cardio sweating, at least you moved movement.
- 24:00Speaker 1: You just got to stay due. He can't take long breaks.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah for sure. Yeah. I was gonna say, back in
- 24:04Speaker 2: the day Peak in one, was there ever any sort
- 24:09Speaker 2: of like because you guys were super hot man and
- 24:14Speaker 2: I always wondered how like guys in the actual league
- 24:17Speaker 2: felt about Yeah, was ever any like obviously, yeah, I'm
- 24:21Speaker 2: sure there was like love, but was there any like
- 24:22Speaker 2: haters in the NBA that just like like, was ere
- 24:25Speaker 2: any like fucking and one NBA beefs going on that? Yeah?
- 24:28Speaker 1: I think yeah, there was a little bit. You know,
- 24:30Speaker 1: it's funny. I'm shooting a video tomorrow talking about this
- 24:33Speaker 1: exact subject right here, Like no, Lie, I was on
- 24:36Speaker 1: kg's podcast a couple of weeks ago, yep, and we
- 24:38Speaker 1: had a little snippet came out on Instagram about it,
- 24:41Speaker 1: and it like I didn't Yeah, it went crazy.
- 24:43Speaker 2: What was Kg's hand?
- 24:44Speaker 1: He was basically saying, some of my teammates they were
- 24:47Speaker 1: eating dinner somewhere at the restaurant New York, and the
- 24:50Speaker 1: topic came up of them, you know, getting at the
- 24:53Speaker 1: NBA players and KG he was like, man, he's like
- 24:55Speaker 1: I was about that. I wanted to see what's good,
- 24:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Obviously they're in the league
- 24:59Speaker 1: at that time.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Like some like unfilmed Super Game where like Kevin Kevin
- 25:04Speaker 3: Garnett and like fucking Stephan Mowberry show up to like
- 25:07Speaker 3: a park in Haarleam at three am and Battle.
- 25:11Speaker 2: At Howard though.
- 25:12Speaker 1: No, you know what's crazy though, when when have Amazing
- 25:15Speaker 1: was gassing that up? Though back in the day, Like,
- 25:17Speaker 1: think about it, we were on TV more than the NBA, right.
- 25:19Speaker 2: The ESPN.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Sure think if they actually did, if that game actually
- 25:23Speaker 1: was for real, like that would have like we might
- 25:26Speaker 1: have had to have a foot think about we sold
- 25:27Speaker 1: out the garden just an and one game, right, so
- 25:29Speaker 1: what would have and one versus NBA All Star game?
- 25:33Speaker 1: Crazy and just a theory game, especially in like three
- 25:36Speaker 1: or four. Oh my, we might need a football stadium
- 25:39Speaker 1: me and have Man, we're just talking about that.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy to think, Like, you know, I'm just
- 25:44Speaker 2: glad to see because you know, when I was a kid, man,
- 25:46Speaker 2: basketball was so and it's big now. But it's just
- 25:50Speaker 2: dope to see like today's generation have whatever version of
- 25:54Speaker 2: like and One was to me to them, you know
- 25:56Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 25:57Speaker 1: That's what I'll try to keep it going because you probably.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I have such a wide range of fans. Oh super
- 26:04Speaker 2: because you have like guys that are like me who
- 26:07Speaker 2: is old and watch you as as when I was
- 26:09Speaker 2: a kid, and then you got like my fucking nine
- 26:12Speaker 2: year old knows exactly who you are. I showed him.
- 26:14Speaker 2: He said, oh, you're gonna interview him. He's at basketball
- 26:16Speaker 2: camp right now. Otherwise he'd probably be here. But oh,
- 26:18Speaker 2: you know, it's crazy you have like such a like
- 26:21Speaker 2: it's probably hard for you to go too many places
- 26:23Speaker 2: without getting stopped. Yeah, oh no, Yeah, for sure.
- 26:25Speaker 1: It's a blessing though, Like if I look at my analytics,
- 26:28Speaker 1: it's like twenty percent eighteen and under, twenty percent eighteen
- 26:32Speaker 1: to thirty five, twenty percent, thirty.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Five and up.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I even got people fifty five and up. There's a
- 26:37Speaker 1: ten percent you know. So yeah, it's a blessing to
- 26:39Speaker 1: have a wide demographic of doing it just for a
- 26:41Speaker 1: long time for you.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Uh, obviously, see you want to ball to your fifty
- 26:45Speaker 2: But what are other things you're trying to like do
- 26:48Speaker 2: to kind of just expand like the empire. Yeah, obviously
- 26:51Speaker 2: you got merch, you got stuff you're selling, but like
- 26:53Speaker 2: give me kind of the breakdown on Noble Hooper dot com,
- 26:55Speaker 2: Global Hooper dot com.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so, uh, when you talk about expansion, I'm actually
- 27:00Speaker 1: trying to produce a movie of my life story or
- 27:02Speaker 1: I play myself. So I've been working on that.
- 27:04Speaker 2: For a couple of years.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Get that film soon, because you're the strike don't help,
- 27:07Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Strikes fucking everything that's not helping.
- 27:10Speaker 1: But except for TV, yeah maybe I think you can still.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Get a TV movie off and the tag won't be mad.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'm inside. Yeah, I don't know. So if you're in SAG,
- 27:18Speaker 2: you should not. You're on strike. You are on strike.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I heard there like it's like gang shit, like you
- 27:23Speaker 2: cannot cross the strike.
- 27:25Speaker 1: It's real, it's real, it's real. So so now we
- 27:27Speaker 1: respecting all that, but you know, trying to put more
- 27:30Speaker 1: of a foot into the acting world. I don't think
- 27:31Speaker 1: i'd ever stop my YouTube channel just because, like you've
- 27:33Speaker 1: seen even a list stars a influencers also, and I've
- 27:36Speaker 1: seen even like big YouTubers go mainstream or do something
- 27:39Speaker 1: mainstream and then have to come back to YouTube and.
- 27:41Speaker 2: It happens actually a lot.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Then the Alborim's all messed up. It's not like it
- 27:44Speaker 1: was before. So I don't I don't ever want to
- 27:46Speaker 1: let um off the gas. Personally, I just think controlling
- 27:49Speaker 1: your own narrative is a beautiful thing. You're your own
- 27:51Speaker 1: boss over there. If people don't want to give you
- 27:54Speaker 1: work elsewhere, you still.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Got that, and it's it is TV. Like the number
- 27:58Speaker 2: one used that on my TV is YouTube. Yeah, I
- 28:00Speaker 2: mean it's number one streaming app in the world. Like
- 28:02Speaker 2: I'm I don't care about Like, I don't watch Netflix
- 28:04Speaker 2: most unless like some show drops, like I just watched Quarterbacks, okay,
- 28:07Speaker 2: but I'm always on YouTube. My kids are on YouTube.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Yeah, me too, me too. If I'm not if I'm
- 28:12Speaker 1: not watching Netflix, it's YouTube.
- 28:14Speaker 2: So yeah, so you're essentially you're like you want to
- 28:17Speaker 2: just kind of dip your toe into like producing like
- 28:19Speaker 2: original content or being a part of like movies on
- 28:22Speaker 2: a bigger scale. Yeah, as well as still keeping your
- 28:24Speaker 2: foot on.
- 28:24Speaker 1: The mainly acting a little bit of producing. Yeah, for sure.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But also for me, it's funny as long as I've gone,
- 28:29Speaker 1: you know, start my YouTube channel.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Oh nine.
- 28:32Speaker 1: The weakness of my brand has actually always been infrastructure.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I didn't upload enough, and now as we get further
- 28:36Speaker 1: into it, people upload way way more.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Essentially, how often are you are you dropping content?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Now we're gonna go four to six times a month.
- 28:44Speaker 1: But I've always I've always been like kind of like
- 28:46Speaker 1: mister beasts where you take a lot of time for
- 28:49Speaker 1: video treated like a TV show where everything's perfect, good, sound, amazing,
- 28:52Speaker 1: consopt and you're aiming to break the Internet. But we
- 28:54Speaker 1: sometimes I want to get one or two of a month, right.
- 28:57Speaker 1: And while that, while that was good, don't get me wrong,
- 28:59Speaker 1: is good, Like I think there's a more, a better
- 29:02Speaker 1: from a business standpoint. What's your most viewed YouTube video?
- 29:07Speaker 1: Eighty three mil views?
- 29:08Speaker 2: But what what what were you doing? Oh?
- 29:10Speaker 1: I went to Laguna Beach and I played a trash talker.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It was actually the first, my first trash talker video
- 29:15Speaker 1: I came up with that that turn in the trash talk.
- 29:19Speaker 2: The dude was just talking crazy. I was.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I had been up there for like three hours of
- 29:22Speaker 1: playing at the Laguna Courts, you know, the Laguna Beach,
- 29:25Speaker 1: and this dude came up and he was just he's
- 29:31Speaker 1: trying to discredit everything I did.
- 29:32Speaker 2: And then he was trying to do exactly who you were.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I don't think he did. So he didn't know I
- 29:37Speaker 1: don't think so. Maybe maybe, but I don't think so.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So then he was like giving the dude a hard
- 29:42Speaker 1: time to guard me. Maybe he knew them, but he
- 29:44Speaker 1: kept he kept saying after every bucket, I would get like, man,
- 29:46Speaker 1: you gotta do this, doude this, and he's like, all
- 29:48Speaker 1: you got to do is watch his hips, and so
- 29:51Speaker 1: he's like, man, I got next, and I was like,
- 29:53Speaker 1: I said something like, well, maybe we should get a
- 29:54Speaker 1: ones in.
- 29:54Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, let's get the ones in.
- 29:56Speaker 1: So I was like all right, cool. So he finished
- 29:58Speaker 1: that game and I was like all right, man, trying
- 29:59Speaker 1: to do it, and then we matched up one on one.
- 30:03Speaker 1: He was a little bit heavy set though, so midway
- 30:06Speaker 1: through the game, a little winded, I did a move,
- 30:09Speaker 1: went between his legs, snash it. I didn't even touch him.
- 30:11Speaker 2: He's smack. He like smack hit the pavement.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Right then, like two plays later, I did somewhere up
- 30:16Speaker 1: faked between my legs between his legs, snatch it. He
- 30:20Speaker 1: broke his shoulder. He like he like reached, he threw
- 30:22Speaker 1: his shoulder out of the socket. So the game didn't
- 30:26Speaker 1: That's why I got eight three mil views. The game
- 30:27Speaker 1: didn't even end.
- 30:28Speaker 2: We couldn't have.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Wrote a better script.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Holy shit. Yeah.
- 30:32Speaker 1: So so when we edit it, we go to the edit,
- 30:35Speaker 1: we told the story of how the game happened, because
- 30:38Speaker 1: that was one of my critiques. We don't play good
- 30:39Speaker 1: enough competition, right, It's like I play anybody in the
- 30:42Speaker 1: Street Street Bowl. So we told the story of why
- 30:45Speaker 1: that game went down. But then we realized, oh, like,
- 30:47Speaker 1: you gotta do this every video, we gotta tell us.
- 30:50Speaker 1: The story to the thumb was a zoom into the
- 30:53Speaker 1: ankle breaker. So it kind of that laid the it
- 30:56Speaker 1: that paved the way for how I need to do videos.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And even the title I had money in the title, Yeah,
- 31:00Speaker 1: to play the game for a hundred bucks or whatever
- 31:02Speaker 1: it's trash talker.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Wow.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, eighty three million. Yeah, I think that was twenty sixteen,
- 31:08Speaker 1: and that's fully monetized. Oh for sure, twenty sixteen.
- 31:11Speaker 2: That's sure, Yeah, that's yeah, a lifetime analytics on there. Nice.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Is it safe to say you've surpassed her and one
- 31:17Speaker 2: pay as a YouTuber by like ten or thirty times
- 31:21Speaker 2: by now?
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say somewhere around twenty ten.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I mean, not to get in your pockets, but back
- 31:26Speaker 2: in the day, like what was what was the pay decent?
- 31:27Speaker 2: Like like, if you guys are hitting the road, it
- 31:29Speaker 2: was decent.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't mind. I think my first contract ever
- 31:33Speaker 1: with an one eighteen years old, was like seventy K.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Sixty seventy k not bad for an eighteen year old
- 31:39Speaker 1: kid professionally playing hoops back then before inflation hit the
- 31:41Speaker 1: fucking not bad.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't bad. But then as we win, it
- 31:44Speaker 2: went big.
- 31:45Speaker 1: So we did, you know, multi multi year six figure deals,
- 31:51Speaker 1: Like by the time I left, I think I signed
- 31:52Speaker 1: a two fifty k a year. Yeah, two fifty k
- 31:56Speaker 1: or something my last year. But then we would make
- 31:57Speaker 1: money outside of an one two, so.
- 31:59Speaker 2: You could go do that. Then you can go do oh,
- 32:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna do an appearance. I'm gonna go playing a
- 32:03Speaker 2: game in China or Africa.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so I think my last year, I think one
- 32:09Speaker 1: of the years made eight hundred K or something like that,
- 32:11Speaker 1: and so that was cool.
- 32:11Speaker 2: But just hooping, just hooping.
- 32:14Speaker 1: I think maybe millions of dollars the whole run, the
- 32:16Speaker 1: whole run, of course. But after saying like for a
- 32:18Speaker 1: single year, for a single year, I was like, Also,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I thought I was rich. I thought my money would
- 32:22Speaker 1: never run out.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Was everyone's pay scales different? Do you know? Or like?
- 32:26Speaker 2: Because obviously there's bigger names, smaller names, like because I
- 32:29Speaker 2: think when I think, when I think of you, I
- 32:30Speaker 2: think a hot sauce, I think, I think escalade, I
- 32:34Speaker 2: think of half and half amazing. I think of who else.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And you're probably different. You watched it, you know the
- 32:39Speaker 1: casuals they say, like me, hot sauce, and then it's
- 32:42Speaker 1: either like Skip or escalating.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Yeah maybe Ao, Yeah, Ao was dope. Yeah yeah, damn
- 32:50Speaker 2: that's crazy, Yeah damn Yeah.
- 32:53Speaker 1: But no, it's based on marketability and skill. So like
- 32:56Speaker 1: what you bring to the table on the court played
- 32:57Speaker 1: a role, but then obviously your marketability. So I'm sure
- 33:00Speaker 1: like hot Sauls had the biggest deal allside. Skip was
- 33:03Speaker 1: already in the NBA, but like you know, I'm sure
- 33:05Speaker 1: hot Sauce had the biggest hot sauce.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Ao. Main When you saw raph Austin naked to the league,
- 33:10Speaker 2: are you like it ain't over for me? He still
- 33:13Speaker 2: made it. Hey, let's stop the interview real quick to
- 33:15Speaker 2: tell you about our good folks at King Palm. That's right, man,
- 33:17Speaker 2: shout out to King Pom. We're talking about them. But
- 33:19Speaker 2: that organic, all right, that natural them leafs, all right,
- 33:24Speaker 2: there's no tobacco involved, and they're so smooth when you
- 33:28Speaker 2: smoke in them. I love King pomps. The only thing
- 33:29Speaker 2: I'm smoking at him. Now, if you go to your
- 33:31Speaker 2: local liquor store, you go to your local smoke shop,
- 33:34Speaker 2: you can get King Palms. Of course, seven eleven's got
- 33:37Speaker 2: the King Poms. And they have so many crazy flavors,
- 33:39Speaker 2: like shout out to Sugar Sean, who's from Phoenix, Arizona,
- 33:44Speaker 2: my hometown. He's got his own flavor. They just sent
- 33:47Speaker 2: us these. Now, what's dope about King Palm is that
- 33:49Speaker 2: they have the turping infused flavors. So at the end
- 33:55Speaker 2: of the tip of these pre rolls, right, you get
- 33:58Speaker 2: the leaf, you squeeze the tip, that's what she said,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and then you just get a burst of flavor. This
- 34:06Speaker 2: is that honey mango all right. Now, this is the
- 34:09Speaker 2: most important part. This is absolutely natural tobacco free leaves,
- 34:16Speaker 2: the cleanest way to smoke, all right. Trust me when
- 34:18Speaker 2: I say, man, we love King pom over here. So
- 34:20Speaker 2: many flavors. I mean, shout out to the grape, shouts
- 34:23Speaker 2: to the honey mango, shout out to the sugar punch

- 35:51Speaker 2: lobby and waiting for some you know lady to call
- 35:53Speaker 2: you in so you can tell her how your cock's
- 35:54Speaker 2: not working properly. It happens, fellas, all right, blue shoe
- 35:58Speaker 2: dot com take my word for it. Also take their

- 36:03Speaker 2: supply for free. Just fight dollarshipping bootree dot com promo
- 36:06Speaker 2: coot like oh, let's get back to the interview. Yeah,
- 36:09Speaker 2: or a lot of people like that. Because he kind
- 36:12Speaker 2: of kicked the door down for the possibility to like
- 36:15Speaker 2: be a like a legendary street baller.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So his was different though, so he actually played all
- 36:20Speaker 1: he went the regular ride, just played street balls in
- 36:22Speaker 1: the summer, so we're like full time street ball, Like
- 36:25Speaker 1: I let go of school for it.
- 36:27Speaker 2: So his thing was he was still going to school,
- 36:28Speaker 2: he was still doing everything. Summertime.
- 36:29Speaker 1: It was he played community college Fresno State, got drafted
- 36:35Speaker 1: Little D League, then came back up, then signed a
- 36:37Speaker 1: big deal, a few big deals. But yeah, uh for
- 36:41Speaker 1: the other guys, I mean, anything's possible, but I think
- 36:44Speaker 1: a lot of guys just didn't get that opportunity or
- 36:47Speaker 1: like there may be was some shortcoming, whether it was
- 36:50Speaker 1: on the corridor off course, everybody's story is a little
- 36:52Speaker 1: bit different, but dudes were good enough to be that's
- 36:54Speaker 1: the myth man. They did that documentary. They did a
- 36:57Speaker 1: doc on an One last year on ES. There's two docs.
- 36:59Speaker 1: There's one on Netflix, the one on ESPN had NBA
- 37:03Speaker 1: players kind of like bashing I don't even know why
- 37:06Speaker 1: this was in the dock if it's the an One doc,
- 37:08Speaker 1: but they were like bashing the level of play of
- 37:10Speaker 1: and one players, and uh, it wasn't a good narrative,
- 37:14Speaker 1: Like it wasn't true.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Why do the documentary if you're gonna bash this.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I didn't get it. I didn't understand it. I don't know,
- 37:20Speaker 1: but luckily most people saw the Netflix.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah it's crazy too because I think like back then,
- 37:28Speaker 2: like there had to have been like for you guys
- 37:33Speaker 2: like to hit it, Like what was was y'all did
- 37:35Speaker 2: y'all have like and one groupies was there like chicks?
- 37:38Speaker 2: Like who was like fucking because you know what? Yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 2: that was the thing. It was hip hop. It was
- 37:42Speaker 2: a rock star hip hop basketball tour. Yes, what you
- 37:47Speaker 2: guys had rappers on tour too? Right? Or was it
- 37:49Speaker 2: different city?
- 37:50Speaker 1: Everybody did the halftimes like like, okay, remember we're just
- 37:53Speaker 1: saying Cassidy was up here. He was going but it
- 37:55Speaker 1: was like dipset the locks.
- 37:58Speaker 2: I think when I saw it, it was, uh, David
- 38:01Speaker 2: Banner and Roscoe. David Banner killed it.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Bro Oh my god, Jacks in Mississippi is home.
- 38:06Speaker 2: It was wild. Listen. I always say this because I've
- 38:09Speaker 2: I've always watched guys do halftime shows and they'd be like,
- 38:11Speaker 2: it's a little different. People are getting up to go
- 38:13Speaker 2: to like get their drinks from like listen, oh, this
- 38:15Speaker 2: is lit. I saw David Banner do a halftime show
- 38:19Speaker 2: and he was alone standing in the middle of the
- 38:22Speaker 2: court and he.
- 38:22Speaker 1: Shut that shit the fuck shut it down. I ain't
- 38:24Speaker 1: got up on the rim once. He's like, shat on
- 38:26Speaker 1: the rim. It was crazy, but uh no, those halftimes
- 38:29Speaker 1: went off. E forty actually killed her. Like when we
- 38:31Speaker 1: did the Bay with the Bay Area, I'd play Oakland.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I remember E forty came on there and they and
- 38:37Speaker 1: uh oh what was it? There was these other dudes though,
- 38:41Speaker 1: some local group.
- 38:42Speaker 2: It was like them.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, they hit the court and everybody run the court
- 38:46Speaker 1: and they had to stop it because it got It
- 38:48Speaker 1: was like fire Hypierra Man, Yeah, exactly, a Hyph Fierer.
- 38:50Speaker 1: That was crazy. But every halftime for a one was
- 38:53Speaker 1: like super Turnto.
- 38:54Speaker 2: What about. What do you think about Big Three?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Oh? I think it's dope.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I mean I don't think like some people might call
- 39:02Speaker 1: that like street I don't really view it as like
- 39:04Speaker 1: street ball necessarily, but I think that, like, you guys
- 39:07Speaker 1: have more spin after the league. You know what I'm saying,
- 39:09Speaker 1: You might be good in a half court till you're fifty,
- 39:11Speaker 1: like you're saying so. So I think it's another it's
- 39:14Speaker 1: another outlet to check out. I feel like it was funny.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Ice Cube was saying he felt like the gatekeepers are
- 39:19Speaker 1: kind of like stopping it from and I feel like
- 39:22Speaker 1: that too, because he doing all the mainstream media. I
- 39:25Speaker 1: think that it would benefit from having some headline players
- 39:27Speaker 1: though that that uh maybe could turn up from a
- 39:31Speaker 1: D from a highlight standpoint.
- 39:33Speaker 2: That's what I think I was gonna say.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Like when Iverson and Jay Will and the end of
- 39:36Speaker 1: the year for year one, yeah, that was ready to
- 39:38Speaker 1: go berserk.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and then yeah, because that made me want to watch,
- 39:42Speaker 2: I was like, wait, white chocolate and Ai, which is tough. Yeah,
- 39:46Speaker 2: me too.
- 39:46Speaker 1: But the hard thing was like, so Jay Will, he
- 39:48Speaker 1: was ready played, we got injured, right, So because he
- 39:51Speaker 1: never came back after that, did he ever play at all?
- 39:53Speaker 1: Maybe a game or two he blew out his knee,
- 39:56Speaker 1: and then I knew a you know, I played Iverson's
- 40:00Speaker 1: as game he ever played, like I played with him
- 40:02Speaker 1: in China. It was a three game tours on my
- 40:04Speaker 1: YouTube channel. Really yeah, it was fire, but because that
- 40:07Speaker 1: was my guy. Was that twenty twelve?
- 40:11Speaker 2: Wow? So his kind of fair relator in China? You
- 40:14Speaker 2: were you were there?
- 40:15Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty twelve and well the last time he actually
- 40:18Speaker 1: took to the court and played a full game. But
- 40:21Speaker 1: so I knew, but he barely wanted to do that,
- 40:23Speaker 1: and then after that he never played again. So I
- 40:25Speaker 1: knew in the Big Three somebody he's hooping. I was like,
- 40:28Speaker 1: are you sure would like to play like that? Because
- 40:29Speaker 1: at the end of the day, like you play on
- 40:31Speaker 1: Iverson's level, or like those nbals are even like me
- 40:34Speaker 1: talking to KG, right, they ain't trying to The stakes
- 40:37Speaker 1: are too low. It feels weird, like going to play
- 40:40Speaker 1: in a game at a half full arena, or like if
- 40:43Speaker 1: I asked KG, would you collab on my yout he
- 40:45Speaker 1: gonna be like, na, why he's already cemented that. Dude's
- 40:48Speaker 1: Hall of Fame.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Now. It's crazy. Have you ever hooped or messed around
- 40:53Speaker 2: with uh, with Jason Williams at all? With Jay Will
- 40:55Speaker 2: because he's obviously kind of like the you know when
- 40:58Speaker 2: you were a kid watching him and Vince and it
- 41:01Speaker 2: was like that era, like a street ball in the leap.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, yeah, crazy Iverson jay Will, Like you said, Vince,
- 41:07Speaker 1: that was crazy. Yeah, we're trying to make it happen.
- 41:10Speaker 1: We're actually trying to make it happen. So I did
- 41:12Speaker 1: a collab video with him and came to our studio downtown.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I have like a half court with the LED setup.
- 41:17Speaker 1: We just talked hoops. He showed me his elbow pass.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I show an elbow pass.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I showed him a move I do, just
- 41:24Speaker 2: got his thoughts on it. And then.
- 41:27Speaker 1: We've been trying to re so I got I actually
- 41:29Speaker 1: had a little injury, but we've been trying to revisit
- 41:32Speaker 1: doing a hoop video and he said he was down.
- 41:34Speaker 1: So like, if you guys went to the park or something,
- 41:36Speaker 1: totally will break the internet.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Just go break the internet real quick. Yes, it'd be crazy. Yeah,
- 41:41Speaker 2: so we trying. We're trying. Did they ever approach you
- 41:44Speaker 2: to try to play in like the Big Three? Maybe
- 41:47Speaker 2: by the way, they'd be smart too.
- 41:49Speaker 1: They asked me to enter the draft, but I noticed
- 41:54Speaker 1: that Skip was in the draft. He didn't get picked,
- 41:56Speaker 1: So like I was gonna introd, well he didn't get picked.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Skip was in the draft and didn't.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Yeah, some of the guys who got I mean, listen,
- 42:03Speaker 2: no disrespect to a lot of those guys. But I remember,
- 42:05Speaker 2: just I'm talking, we're talking about selling tickets, putting seats
- 42:08Speaker 2: and asses here.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and maybe Skip it want to play.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I didn't know the details, right, but I just like
- 42:12Speaker 2: I remember seeing some of the guys and I'm just like, yeah,
- 42:15Speaker 2: I mean Rashan McCants was like a fringe, like make
- 42:18Speaker 2: it on a roster kind of guy. And I know
- 42:20Speaker 2: he's like one of the main Big three guys, but
- 42:22Speaker 2: it's like, I don't know what's coming out to sever
- 42:25Speaker 2: you know Amari for a little bit. You know, they tough.
- 42:29Speaker 2: You need to highlight guys. You need somebody to Yeah,
- 42:32Speaker 2: you need the TikTok guys. Hey, what's the real It's
- 42:35Speaker 2: gonna go crazy to promote the Big Three.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're not good enough. You know, I'm saying,
- 42:38Speaker 1: you gotta play at that higher level.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I don't keep it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: He's trying to keep it big boy, you know, just
- 42:44Speaker 1: below the NBA competition level. I didn't want to do
- 42:47Speaker 1: it because, like my thing was, like they're giving other
- 42:48Speaker 1: dudes deals.
- 42:49Speaker 2: What do you mean to enter the draft?
- 42:50Speaker 1: That's just from marketing so you can I'm in it.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I'm the most popular guy following wise.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Here literally outside of Jawill and Iverson.
- 42:58Speaker 2: That would have been one hundred percent.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Yeah, So like I wasn't gonna do it unless someoney
- 43:02Speaker 1: would sign me. But then also let me play how
- 43:04Speaker 1: I play travel Chip in the the three, I feel
- 43:09Speaker 1: like they could benefit a lout from some entertainment I know,
- 43:11Speaker 1: even like Bone Collector and White Chocolate went and went
- 43:14Speaker 1: through the combine, didn't get picked up. So they're keeping
- 43:17Speaker 1: it tight. They're keeping it like real.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I get what he's trying to do. He's trying
- 43:20Speaker 2: to essentially set up a situation where you can extend
- 43:23Speaker 2: your career. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 43:25Speaker 1: He's trying to say, this's a Big Boy League, you know,
- 43:27Speaker 1: top level competition. Still it's just like just below the NBA.
- 43:31Speaker 1: When you're done, you go here.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, which I.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Respect, but yeah, I didn't want to do it. Just
- 43:35Speaker 1: to me, it didn't feel right, like I'm not gonna,
- 43:37Speaker 1: you know, go to a team and be on the
- 43:39Speaker 1: bench the whole game or like because you know, when
- 43:41Speaker 1: you get into those like the personas are like how
- 43:45Speaker 1: the coach and the big three would look at it
- 43:47Speaker 1: and how serious them dudes wanted championship.
- 43:49Speaker 2: If I try to go Victorial legs and kick that out,
- 43:51Speaker 2: they're gonna be mad, you know what I mean. It's
- 43:53Speaker 2: like we got to take him out.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Yeah, grit too, But I get some moves, I'll be
- 43:58Speaker 1: trying to do moves.
- 43:58Speaker 2: I'd be trying to turn it out. I mean, but
- 44:00Speaker 2: they're trying to get the crowd.
- 44:02Speaker 1: What team would would be cool with that?
- 44:03Speaker 2: For sure? Maybe it's maybe, but as ice Cube cool?
- 44:06Speaker 2: Who knows? I saw you did a video with Paul George, Like,
- 44:10Speaker 2: how are your relationships with some of the guys in
- 44:12Speaker 2: the NBA nowadays? Like obviously you're a celebrity, celebrity, like
- 44:17Speaker 2: you know, outside of just being the OG and one guy.
- 44:19Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, We're cool.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I mean a lot of guys are busy, right, so,
- 44:23Speaker 1: like I don't necessarily hang with NBA players, but I
- 44:25Speaker 1: feel like I've met almost everybody you know, and every.
- 44:27Speaker 2: It's just shows a lot of love.
- 44:28Speaker 1: I show a lot of respect to those guys for
- 44:31Speaker 1: doing at the highest level. But Paul George is awesome.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Man.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I never met him before that day we shot that video.
- 44:36Speaker 2: That shit's crazy. So did you did you did you
- 44:40Speaker 2: end up going to did you go to NBA con
- 44:41Speaker 2: at all? I was out there for Summer League.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I didn't go to NBA can I should have.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Summer League's fucking fire. Had a great time. I love it,
- 44:49Speaker 2: had a good time. I went to I went to
- 44:50Speaker 2: like Summer League. One of the one of the days.
- 44:52Speaker 2: It was the day after women Yanna had his his Uh,
- 44:55Speaker 2: it was like a slower day because my sons were
- 44:57Speaker 2: playing okay, and I just didn't do We were there
- 45:00Speaker 2: all day and like, man, everybody's just walking around, like everybody. Yeah,
- 45:04Speaker 2: the players will get done playing and then walk around
- 45:06Speaker 2: the arena like.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I know you, I notice that, Like we left the
- 45:09Speaker 1: arena and then like dudes, who just played that game
- 45:14Speaker 1: right next to us?
- 45:14Speaker 2: And We're like, what the It's crazy. They didn't have
- 45:17Speaker 2: a VIP tunnel over here. Nah. And then they have
- 45:20Speaker 2: the two games going on like simultaneously because they kind
- 45:22Speaker 2: of have the two connected arenas. It's it's mine. I
- 45:25Speaker 2: told my my boy. I was like, next year, we're
- 45:28Speaker 2: gonna do like a week of this ship.
- 45:30Speaker 1: That's what we did. I did about four days.
- 45:32Speaker 2: We're gonna go out there. It's gonna be like our
- 45:33Speaker 2: All Star weekend. Because I'm a funk with All Star

- 45:46Speaker 1: the NBA to exist. Yeah, for summer for a little bit.
- 45:51Speaker 2: For two weeks. It's crazy, it is. It is two weeks.
- 45:53Speaker 2: But it's really about that first like week.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we missed the wave, like my home here, he
- 45:59Speaker 1: was here, he was there, like when Winby was playing crazy.
- 46:01Speaker 1: We came three days after and caught like the last weekend.
- 46:04Speaker 1: And don't get me wrong, it was still lit, but
- 46:05Speaker 1: it wasn't. It wasn't like the first weekend.
- 46:07Speaker 2: It's crazy because because a lot of those main draft picks,
- 46:09Speaker 2: you know, they play a game or two and then
- 46:10Speaker 2: they get sat. You know, it's like and then they
