- 0:00Speaker 1: No, I'm not making No, this is not going on
- 0:03Speaker 1: my list.
- 0:03Speaker 2: I'm not doing it. I refuse to add this to
- 0:06Speaker 2: my list. I am never going to watch this show.
- 0:09Speaker 2: This is horrendous.
- 0:10Speaker 3: This is pretty expressible, like, no, they're canceling this after
- 0:14Speaker 3: this season.
- 0:15Speaker 4: Hello, Welcome to May the Review Be with You with
- 0:18Speaker 4: Nick and Joe show Nick and Today on May the
- 0:22Speaker 4: Review Be with You, we are playing our game, added
- 0:25Speaker 4: to your List. It's a game in which Nick and
- 0:28Speaker 4: I tried to persuade the other to add that show
- 0:32Speaker 4: or movie to their watch list. We've all been here,
- 0:34Speaker 4: we've all played this game unknowingly. When you're at the
- 0:37Speaker 4: bar and you're trying to make small talk and this
- 0:39Speaker 4: person that you really don't want to be talking to
- 0:41Speaker 4: starts telling you you have to watch this show, and
- 0:44Speaker 4: you very politely say yeah, I'm gonna, and then you
- 0:46Speaker 4: just never do it. I'm proud to say that I
- 0:51Speaker 4: think we've only done that a couple times on this
- 0:54Speaker 4: on this game. But I think last time, I think
- 0:56Speaker 4: we both actually saw each other's each other's pay right.
- 1:03Speaker 2: No, I don't think so you didn't watch Rebel Ridge.
- 1:06Speaker 4: You' so gun.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I have not watched Rebel Ridge. Did you watch them?
- 1:10Speaker 4: Mark? I watched the Union. I watched the Union. I
- 1:14Speaker 4: watched it, which I'm gonna talk about that later about
- 1:17Speaker 4: my feelings. I'm sorry.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I am so sorry.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I am even more upset. I watched it in good faith,
- 1:24Speaker 4: thinking that you were watching Rebel Ridge, and I was like, oh,
- 1:26Speaker 4: I should watch I should watch this too.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I did one moment where I could have hit playing
- 1:31Speaker 3: Rebel Ridge, but something just told me not to.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I don't know what it was. I'm sorry.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Oh, I am so upset with you right now, I
- 1:37Speaker 4: have I have three reasons to be mad at you,
- 1:39Speaker 4: right Tell.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Me that the feel good.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Don't take it too seriously, A little fun, little halle Berry.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Listen to the rout with it.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know it's not good.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It's not great though.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Actually there was a lot wrong with it that I
- 1:50Speaker 4: couldn't pull apart. JK. Simmons, Yeah, you knew that. That
- 1:55Speaker 4: was my sweet spot. Like I love JK. Simmons. I'm
- 1:58Speaker 4: probably gonna see Red one at some point because JK.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Simmons is Santa Claus. That doesn't make it good by
- 2:04Speaker 4: any stretch of the imagination. I'm just a stimp for
- 2:07Speaker 4: the man.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Apparently anyway, I sincerely apologize.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, you freaking better. Anyway, we'll get to add it
- 2:17Speaker 4: to your list game that we love to play, and
- 2:19Speaker 4: I will express my feelings more apparently about our last episode. Guys,
- 2:24Speaker 4: if you like what you are listening to here on,
- 2:27Speaker 4: may the review be with you. The best way you
- 2:29Speaker 4: can support us is, of course, by liking and subscribing
- 2:32Speaker 4: and hitting that bell so you can be notified on
- 2:35Speaker 4: future videos. Before we move on into our game, we
- 2:39Speaker 4: do like to go over real quick about what's happening
- 2:42Speaker 4: in news media and one of the news stories that
- 2:46Speaker 4: came out from last week that people have been talking
- 2:49Speaker 4: about online. It feels like it's relevant given our name,
- 2:53Speaker 4: me the review be with you. That Disney pulled a
- 2:57Speaker 4: Star Wars movie from twenty twenty six. That's interesting, Nick,
- 3:04Speaker 4: How are you feeling about that? I know you're a
- 3:05Speaker 4: big Star Wars fan?
- 3:06Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Which which? Do we know? Which one?
- 3:10Speaker 4: It was untitled? We don't know what it was. We
- 3:14Speaker 4: do know that it had something to do with Ray.
- 3:18Speaker 4: That Ray was gonna be the featured protagonist of this movie.
- 3:21Speaker 4: I'm not sure if it was a Ray solo film
- 3:24Speaker 4: or a brand new trilogy unclear, but that was hold it. Yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 4: that was polled, and Disney said that, you know, she's
- 3:31Speaker 4: their most valuable IP character from the franchise right now,
- 3:35Speaker 4: so they're they're trying to be careful what they do
- 3:37Speaker 4: with that.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Interesting. Star Wars is at a crossroads right now with Disney,
- 3:42Speaker 3: Like and Or two's coming out, which a lot of
- 3:46Speaker 3: people are excited about. That's next year. I think I
- 3:49Speaker 3: thought it was.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what they pushed that back to. I think
- 3:51Speaker 2: it was originally supposed to be this year, but I
- 3:53Speaker 2: think they moved it next year.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah. That and Skeleton Career coming out next year.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah. So, but there's not a lot else there, and
- 3:59Speaker 2: there is.
- 4:00Speaker 3: We don't have a date for the next big feature
- 4:02Speaker 3: film either right now that that's been pulled.
- 4:05Speaker 4: No, I think we do. I think there's a twenty
- 4:09Speaker 4: twenty six film. It would have been the first time
- 4:11Speaker 4: that there would have been two Star Wars films in
- 4:13Speaker 4: the same year. Twenty twenty six still has a Mandalorian
- 4:18Speaker 4: Grogu film coming.
- 4:20Speaker 2: In I got it okay, which I'm surprised they.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Said that Ray was their most valuable IP character, because like,
- 4:26Speaker 4: I feel like that is their most valuable piece of property.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Right now.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, right now, probably, I guess a lot. I guess
- 4:32Speaker 3: like overall, there's got to be some real big numbers
- 4:37Speaker 3: for Ray, like.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Just from the movies. But yeah, it's so interesting what
- 4:41Speaker 2: Star Wars is doing.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Gonna be really interesting to see what they actually put
- 4:45Speaker 3: in its place.
- 4:46Speaker 4: If anything, I don't hate it. Yeah, what Disney decides
- 4:50Speaker 4: to put it in its place overall, Yeah, i'd be
- 4:52Speaker 4: I'd be interested because I doubt it's gonna be Star Wars. So,
- 4:57Speaker 4: like hear me out here, maybe this is just the
- 4:59Speaker 4: old in me talking, but like it feels like when
- 5:03Speaker 4: when a Star Wars movie was coming out, like that
- 5:06Speaker 4: used to mean something, you know what I mean, Like
- 5:08Speaker 4: like it was exciting, like when there was a new
- 5:11Speaker 4: Star Wars movie coming out. Now it just feels like
- 5:13Speaker 4: there's a new Star Wars thing like every few months
- 5:16Speaker 4: or so.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Right, It's nice that there's been a break for sure.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Yeah, which I mean, we we enjoyed the accolade. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 4: and that show's future is a bit tragic, but yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 4: I wouldn't I wouldn't mind, like, you know, giving us
- 5:32Speaker 4: some breathing room on the Star Wars stuff. Like I
- 5:35Speaker 4: think it was The Force Awakens was the most uh
- 5:40Speaker 4: it made of all Star Wars films. It made the
- 5:43Speaker 4: most money, right, And I'm guessing that's because of the
- 5:47Speaker 4: anticipation between what was the film before that, Revenge Revenge
- 5:51Speaker 4: of the Sith. Yeah, at that point was it Revenge
- 5:53Speaker 4: of the Syth?
- 5:54Speaker 2: No? I mean we had Rogue one and and like, oh, that's.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Right, right, did Rogue one come out before? Or I
- 6:02Speaker 4: don't remember?
- 6:03Speaker 2: Actually, you know what, that's a great question. Maybe I'm
- 6:05Speaker 2: just thinking.
- 6:05Speaker 5: I don't think it's technically, but I want I almost
- 6:09Speaker 5: thinking chronologically, I have no idea. Actually, it probably you
- 6:11Speaker 5: know what it might have came up. I think you're
- 6:13Speaker 5: right after, it was after so yeah, that might have
- 6:15Speaker 5: been the gap Revenge of the Sith to Force Awakens.
- 6:19Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's the truth. That is insane. We should probably know
- 6:23Speaker 2: the answer to that.
- 6:23Speaker 3: You brought us into the we should you brought us
- 6:26Speaker 3: into this dilemma?
- 6:29Speaker 4: If you know and you're disappointed, feel free to let
- 6:31Speaker 4: us know in the comments. We have to move on,
- 6:36Speaker 4: so somehow every time we do and add it to
- 6:39Speaker 4: your list episode there is news from the DC universe
- 6:42Speaker 4: and Lanterns. We are not planning it that way, it
- 6:46Speaker 4: just keeps happening. So two things out of lanterns.
- 6:49Speaker 5: Uh.
- 6:49Speaker 4: They just assigned a new cast member, Orna Jagg and
- 6:54Speaker 4: Nathan Jack and Nathan forgive me if I'm mispronouncing that
- 6:58Speaker 4: star from a breakout star from never have I ever.
- 7:00Speaker 4: She's been added the list. From what I understand, she's
- 7:03Speaker 4: going to be a romantic character for one of our
- 7:06Speaker 4: Lantern cops. And the reason why I'm bringing up this
- 7:09Speaker 4: news at all is because we got a plot revelation,
- 7:13Speaker 4: very very minor as far as details go, but I'm
- 7:19Speaker 4: I'm my intrigue in this show keeps building. So what
- 7:22Speaker 4: we've learned is the plot is following two intergalactic cops
- 7:27Speaker 4: drawn into a dark Earth based mystery as they investigate
- 7:30Speaker 4: a murder in the America, American Heartland, not where I
- 7:37Speaker 4: thought the setting of this show was going to take place.
- 7:40Speaker 2: That's awesome. I love this plot reveal.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm on board with this show, dude.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Basically like, bring Captain Marvel to America in the first
- 7:50Speaker 3: film and see what happens.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Situation. It's great, right, but.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Also probably got to build up the monetary catalog of
- 7:59Speaker 3: the DC, so you can't really go to space first.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It's too expensive.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Too expensive for sure, especially given their track record. Oh,
- 8:10Speaker 4: if we learned anything from the last live action Green
- 8:12Speaker 4: Lantern thing, CGI all the way with the Green Lantern
- 8:17Speaker 4: franchise does not does not go. Well.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but this is an awesome plot reveal. It's like
- 8:25Speaker 3: True Detective basically.
- 8:26Speaker 4: So right right exactly, its true True Detective with superhero cops. Like,
- 8:32Speaker 4: I'm so in this.
- 8:33Speaker 2: This is gonna be Yeah, I'm staked.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I'm still yeah, I cannot wait. So yeah, we will.
- 8:38Speaker 4: We will continue to monitor for news for that. The
- 8:41Speaker 4: more I hear, the more I am into this plot.
- 8:45Speaker 4: So we mentioned Red One earlier, which is the Dwayne
- 8:50Speaker 4: the Rock Johnson and Chris Evans Christmas action comedy movie.
- 8:56Speaker 4: So it made thirty two million in the box office
- 8:59Speaker 4: over the weekend. You score is thirty three percent audience
- 9:03Speaker 4: scores actually ninety percent.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Oh okay, it's.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Certified fresh baby. Well and you know what my boy JK.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Simmons is it is, so it couldn't.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Be bad, honestly though, Like I don't, I'm gonna, I'm
- 9:17Speaker 3: gonna watch it. I haven't seen it yet. Of course
- 9:19Speaker 3: I'll watch it at some point. I love Christmas movies,
- 9:21Speaker 3: like even the bad ones. I'm like, let's go. It's
- 9:23Speaker 3: a Christmas movie.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Like it.
- 9:25Speaker 3: It would have to really not be good for me
- 9:27Speaker 3: to hate it. And so like I remember last year,
- 9:30Speaker 3: Apple TV had a Christmas movie come out with Ryan
- 9:31Speaker 3: Reynolds and Will Ferrell. Spirited is the name of it.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Oh gosh, Yeah, I actually enjoyed that film a lot,
- 9:38Speaker 3: very charming.
- 9:38Speaker 2: It's like half musical, really funny. I'm gonna watch that
- 9:41Speaker 2: this year too, Like I'm the movie.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Right, isn't it isn't I think I mixed it up
- 9:46Speaker 4: with something else. It's it's the It's like a take
- 9:48Speaker 4: on a Christmas Carol. Right, yeah, yeah, No, I actually
- 9:52Speaker 4: enjoyed that too. Like I wouldn't say that it was
- 9:54Speaker 4: a good movie, but I had a good time.
- 9:56Speaker 3: It's a fun Christmas movie. And that's the great part
- 9:58Speaker 3: about Christmas movies, and they don't have to be something
- 10:01Speaker 3: other than that, and they're just supposed to be enjoyable,
- 10:03Speaker 3: and that.
- 10:03Speaker 2: One was one of those.
- 10:04Speaker 3: So I'm sure red one with the cast, it's probably
- 10:06Speaker 3: it's probably fun. And so the audience score for ninety
- 10:09Speaker 3: percent doesn't surprise me, and I'll go see it at
- 10:11Speaker 3: some point.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I think I actually said the same thing to my partner,
- 10:15Speaker 4: telling her that, yeah, I don't think that this movie
- 10:17Speaker 4: is gonna be like good at all, but it looks
- 10:20Speaker 4: like it's super fun. Yeah, at least that's what I'm
- 10:24Speaker 4: hoping for, just like a ridiculous like Christmas adventure. So
- 10:28Speaker 4: we'll see. I'm not sure if I'm going to pay
- 10:31Speaker 4: money to go watch this, but I will watch this
- 10:33Speaker 4: at some point in the future.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:36Speaker 4: The last thing I want to bring up here is
- 10:38Speaker 4: a movie that also recently came out. A quick mini
- 10:42Speaker 4: review on this Heretic. If you are into horror thrillers
- 10:48Speaker 4: at all, go watch this movie. This movie is awesome.
- 10:52Speaker 4: It is heretic, is everything that Long Legs wanted to be.
- 10:56Speaker 4: So if you saw Long Legs with Nicholas Cage earlier
- 10:59Speaker 4: this year and you were just pointed, go see this
- 11:01Speaker 4: movie instead. This This movie is is phenomenal. Hugh Grant
- 11:05Speaker 4: is our villain, and he is so good at being
- 11:09Speaker 4: so creepy. It's It's a great psychological thriller that focuses
- 11:14Speaker 4: on religion and atheism, and it comes up with arguments
- 11:21Speaker 4: for and against both. I love this movie. It is fantastic.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Go watch Airtic.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Nice the last that's not for me. First of all,
- 11:32Speaker 3: I'm not a horror type of person, but really nice
- 11:35Speaker 3: call out there. I think the last two Grant movie
- 11:38Speaker 3: I see I saw was Dungeons and Dragons, which we've
- 11:40Speaker 3: reviewed on this podcast.
- 11:41Speaker 4: So oh dude, right on, hell yah Hu Grant, shout
- 11:45Speaker 4: out Hugh Grant, baby. I can't say that that was
- 11:48Speaker 4: the last Year Grant movie I saw. The last Year
- 11:49Speaker 4: Grant movie I saw was Wonka, where he played the
- 11:52Speaker 4: oup Balloopa.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I forgot he played the opalloop but never mind, Wanka
- 11:55Speaker 3: was awesome.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I love that that version of Wonka. That was really good.
- 11:58Speaker 4: So Hugh Grant is some inheritic, but I have to
- 12:01Speaker 4: say for the first like ten minutes that like he's talking,
- 12:03Speaker 4: I could not unsee the umpa loompa, I could not
- 12:07Speaker 4: take him.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Seriously for a while Walker because.
- 12:10Speaker 4: He's so transformative that that that went away very fast.
- 12:13Speaker 2: That Walker was really good with Salome. I have to
- 12:15Speaker 2: rewatch that.
- 12:16Speaker 4: I adore that movie.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That movie fantastically done.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Yeah, to talk about a movie that like I came
- 12:22Speaker 4: in with such low expectations with and like left with
- 12:26Speaker 4: just nothing but glowing positive reviews. There. I love that movie.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I love I'd love to see him playing walking in
- 12:31Speaker 3: That would be really cool.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Anyway, Yeah, I agreed, agreed. It is about that time
- 12:37Speaker 4: where we added to your List. So today we are
- 12:41Speaker 4: talking about two shows. I believe, I believe yours is
- 12:44Speaker 4: a show. Yes, yes, yep, okay, yep. We were talking
- 12:47Speaker 4: about two different shows today and on the last episode
- 12:51Speaker 4: of Added to Your List we were pitching The Union
- 12:54Speaker 4: and Rebel Ridge, and yeah, I'm feeling really betrayed. I
- 13:00Speaker 4: really thought that you went to go see Rebel Ridge.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Aaron Pierre is gonna be the star of Lanterns. All right,
- 13:09Speaker 4: my man, like you need a you need to prioritize
- 13:12Speaker 4: this on your list. It is, it is so damn.
- 13:15Speaker 4: I'm just gonna repitch you Rebel Rich Screw what I
- 13:16Speaker 4: was about to pitch.
- 13:17Speaker 5: I'm gonna I deserve that watching it.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Yet you do because I saw The Union and you
- 13:26Speaker 4: know what, you were right. I shouldn't have added it
- 13:29Speaker 4: to my list. It was a huge mistake. Jesus.
- 13:32Speaker 2: At least you now have a barometer for my pitches.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I do.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You were thinking I'm not.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Doing it and I talked you into it, and now
- 13:40Speaker 3: you know that you should have went with your gut feeling.
- 13:42Speaker 2: So use the force.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Yeah, because because here's the thing I should have Because
- 13:47Speaker 4: like when you were pitching me Silo, I was like, yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 4: this this sounds awesome, Like I'm all about this. But
- 13:53Speaker 4: like when you pitched the Union, I could see it
- 13:56Speaker 4: in your eyes that like you weren't even really into it.
- 13:59Speaker 4: You're like, oh, yeah, it's it's it's something to put
- 14:02Speaker 4: on when you do laundry. Like whoa, you were.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Doing laundry when you watching Rebel Ridge.
- 14:09Speaker 4: So that is true. But I stopped doing laundry because
- 14:12Speaker 4: of Rouble Ridge. Then okay, I started it with the
- 14:15Speaker 4: laundry and then stopped doing laundry because I was so engaged.
- 14:18Speaker 3: This argument is insane, by the way, right now this
- 14:20Speaker 3: is like totally ridiculous. I'm gonna pitch, start pitching. I'm
- 14:23Speaker 3: gonna start pitching the thing that I came here to
- 14:25Speaker 3: pitch you.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Okay, fy, pitch whatever your terrible show is.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Probably today, I am pitching you the Netflix TV series
- 14:34Speaker 3: excuse me, season, because there's only one right now. Nobody
- 14:39Speaker 3: wants this, starring Kristin Bell and Adam Brody. Kristin Bell
- 14:45Speaker 3: plays a sex podcaster. She has a podcast with her sister.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They talk about sex and boys and all this stupid stuff.
- 14:53Speaker 3: And she meets a rabbi who is just getting out
- 14:59Speaker 3: of a long.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Term relationship and they fall in love. So Kristen Bell, a.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Sex podcaster, blonde, sex podcaster, not Jewish, agnostic, falls in love.
- 15:12Speaker 2: With a rabbi.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Rabbi falls in love with the sex podcaster not Jewish, and.
- 15:18Speaker 2: The story kind of unfolds from there, and we go.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Through its ten episodes on Netflix. They're like twenty minutes each.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's a rom com. It's hilarious. The banter between Adam
- 15:28Speaker 3: Brodie's character and whose name is Noah and his brother
- 15:33Speaker 3: on the show fantastic, like super funny. It's the perfect
- 15:38Speaker 3: like rom com quick episodes to put on with your
- 15:42Speaker 3: partner or honestly even by yourself, because it does have
- 15:44Speaker 3: some really awesome humor. I think the writing for the
- 15:47Speaker 3: most part, from the comedic standpoint is really entertaining, not
- 15:52Speaker 3: perfect by any means. I mean, it is just like
- 15:53Speaker 3: a kind of like a newer Netflix TV show, but yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 3: pretty solid.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Think hmmm, So I'm not gonna lie to you because
- 16:04Speaker 4: of how upset I am with you regarding the union.
- 16:06Speaker 4: I wanted to just shoot down whatever it was that
- 16:09Speaker 4: you were gonna say. But like inherently like that's actually
- 16:12Speaker 4: a decent premise.
- 16:14Speaker 2: That hilarious.
- 16:17Speaker 4: It sounds like yeah, like it entitles itself to like
- 16:20Speaker 4: great hyjiinks you said it was it was Kristin Bell and.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Who Adam Brody.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Adam Brody, Oh yeah, that's all right.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Adam Brod, the guy from the OC is what he's
- 16:30Speaker 2: best known.
- 16:30Speaker 4: For, right right right. I've seen him and I've seen
- 16:33Speaker 4: him do comedy before I can't remember in what, but
- 16:36Speaker 4: like he is actually very funny.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's like really dry and he I mean,
- 16:40Speaker 3: he plays a rabbit and he's got this like dry
- 16:42Speaker 3: humor to him. And then like Kristen Bell's character is
- 16:45Speaker 3: really you know, like more out there and and I
- 16:50Speaker 3: guess more emotional if you will, but uh yeah, it's
- 16:53Speaker 3: it's they have a really they have really good on
- 16:55Speaker 3: screen chemistry too, which makes the show.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Go okay, how all right, So this is the part
- 17:03Speaker 4: of the game where I get to ask a couple
- 17:05Speaker 4: of questions to determine whether or not I truly actually
- 17:07Speaker 4: want to put this on my list. How many episodes
- 17:11Speaker 4: is it? You said it was one season.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Yeah, one season, so fore ten episodes, twenty twenty five
- 17:16Speaker 3: minutes each.
- 17:19Speaker 4: It's pretty easy commitment.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah, easy commitment. I don't know if there's going to
- 17:23Speaker 2: be stay go ahead.
- 17:28Speaker 4: What would you say was your What was like the
- 17:31Speaker 4: most impactful moment from the show for you?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Impactful is a big word for a rom com, but uh,
- 17:41Speaker 2: the scene?
- 17:42Speaker 4: What sticks with you?
- 17:43Speaker 3: There's a scene that sticks out that I was like,
- 17:44Speaker 3: I can't wait to tell Joe about this scene.
- 17:46Speaker 2: So basically it's within the first couple episodes as well.
- 17:49Speaker 2: So just picture this.
- 17:52Speaker 3: They're going out on a date and she needs to
- 17:55Speaker 3: pick up Chris and Bell's character.
- 17:57Speaker 2: She needs to pick up a product.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Because she has a guest on her podcast that is
- 18:05Speaker 3: selling the specific product, and the product can only be
- 18:08Speaker 3: found in.
- 18:08Speaker 2: A sex shop.
- 18:10Speaker 3: So the rabbi and her take a detour on the
- 18:15Speaker 3: way to their dinner and end up in a sex shop.
- 18:18Speaker 3: So just picture a rabbi in the middle of a
- 18:20Speaker 3: sex shop, and then picture that rabbi running into somebody
- 18:25Speaker 3: who is a member of the board at his synagogue.
- 18:31Speaker 3: In the sex shop, that's the scene.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Hilarious.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I'm incredibly uncomfortable. Is this something that happen in real life?
- 18:40Speaker 2: I don't know. You'd have to ask a rabbi. I
- 18:42Speaker 2: have no idea.
- 18:49Speaker 4: It's a good thing. I know so many of those,
- 18:51Speaker 4: but it makes for good TV. I was sure to
- 18:54Speaker 4: ask my many rabbi friends. You know, here's the problem
- 19:01Speaker 4: with this game, nick, I had such an inherent curiosity
- 19:05Speaker 4: about most media that it really I mean, it's gonna
- 19:10Speaker 4: have to take another Union esque pitch for me to
- 19:13Speaker 4: just be like, absolutely not. I am going to add
- 19:17Speaker 4: this to my list because it does sound like it's
- 19:19Speaker 4: pretty funny and like, you know what, I could probably
- 19:23Speaker 4: fold laundry to it, probably pretty easily.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Yeah, actually you probably could, but it would be enjoyable
- 19:30Speaker 3: in this moment.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Okay, all right, all right, Nicholas, since you loved The
- 19:38Speaker 4: Union so much, I have a pitch for you. Coming
- 19:43Speaker 4: off of the High Sea's ABC's new network drama Doctor
- 19:49Speaker 4: Odyssey UH starring Joshua Jackson UH and Don Johnson. John
- 19:55Speaker 4: Johnson coming straight off the Highs from rebel Ridge. I'm
- 20:00Speaker 4: just gonna keep finding ways to like interweave rebel Ridge
- 20:03Speaker 4: throughout this pitch. Doctor Odyssey is about uh, a cruise ship,
- 20:10Speaker 4: a team, a medical team that works on a cruise ship.
- 20:13Speaker 4: And every week they have a new new batch of guests.
- 20:17Speaker 4: There's a new theme every week. Uh like plastic surgery week. Uh,
- 20:21Speaker 4: there's uh, you know, uh the LGBTQ LGBTQ week, right,
- 20:27Speaker 4: Like They've got all these like different things right. The
- 20:30Speaker 4: best way I can describe this show, Nick, is if
- 20:34Speaker 4: if if you liked doctor shows from back in the day,
- 20:37Speaker 4: which you're a Scrubs fan, I know that you there's
- 20:39Speaker 4: at least somewhat of an interest there for you. This
- 20:43Speaker 4: show is house, but like if you could take like
- 20:47Speaker 4: the sex meter and dial it up by like three
- 20:50Speaker 4: thousand percent, it's like three thousand percent sexier house. Okay
- 20:56Speaker 4: it is. It is a a wild show, and I'm
- 21:02Speaker 4: gonna go ahead and just be straight up honest with you, Nick.
- 21:06Speaker 4: This show is insane, and I don't think it is
- 21:09Speaker 4: a very good show, but oh my god, I cannot
- 21:13Speaker 4: stop watching it. It is one of those shows where
- 21:17Speaker 4: I'm like, I need to know what happens next. This
- 21:19Speaker 4: show is out of its freaking mind, and and sometimes
- 21:24Speaker 4: dumb TV makes for really good TV. And and that's
- 21:27Speaker 4: what it is. Is it good? No, but it's good TV.
- 21:30Speaker 4: And I think you know what I mean when I
- 21:32Speaker 4: say that.
- 21:33Speaker 3: So it's it's it's House meets CSI, Miami meets a
- 21:36Speaker 3: train rush.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, Like what's what's like what's like an
- 21:41Speaker 4: inherently like just like a ridiculously sexy show like I
- 21:46Speaker 4: don't know, like like a Gossip Girl or like what
- 21:49Speaker 4: what what's the Stepford Wives or the House Desperate Housewives?
- 21:53Speaker 4: It's that's what it is. It's House with Desperate Housewives.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Like that's what it is. Just very sexy.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Listen.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Housewives also was actually like a really good TV show,
- 22:02Speaker 3: Like actually, I.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Actually wouldn't know. I've never actually seen Desperate Housewise, but
- 22:05Speaker 4: everyone who's a fan tells me that I.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Might have to pitch you Desperate Housewives next time throwback. Actually,
- 22:12Speaker 2: you'd be a great show for my partner and I
- 22:14Speaker 2: to watch it. I don't think she's ever seen it.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, exactly what we're gonna do anyway? I mean, Jesus,
- 22:20Speaker 3: they're on a cruise ship. How many possible medical emergency
- 22:23Speaker 3: could that are different?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Could there possibly be?
- 22:25Speaker 4: Oh? Oh, that's the thing that there are so many
- 22:28Speaker 4: and like somehow, somehow and like this is like where
- 22:31Speaker 4: the ridiculousness of the show comes in. Somehow. They're like tiny,
- 22:35Speaker 4: like medical Bay like has everything they need everything, Like
- 22:39Speaker 4: they have a CT scan machine. They have a CT
- 22:42Speaker 4: scan machine on the cruise ship.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Okay, but they do they have that?
- 22:48Speaker 4: They have they have a surgical unit on the cruise ship.
- 22:52Speaker 4: That's actually probably my favorite episode. I'll let you ask
- 22:56Speaker 4: another question though, all.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Right, uh, just get straight up tell me how.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Good or bad or in the middle of the acting
- 23:05Speaker 3: overall is Like does Joshua Jackson like enjoyable to where
- 23:08Speaker 3: you can it's watchable? Or am I gonna be pulling
- 23:12Speaker 3: my hair out every five minutes because there?
- 23:14Speaker 4: That's actually that's a great question. That's actually the one
- 23:17Speaker 4: thing I would say is not not bad about this show.
- 23:21Speaker 4: The acting is actually really good. Like all the actors.
- 23:25Speaker 4: I'm not gonna say, like what they're doing is incredibly challenging, right,
- 23:29Speaker 4: but they they are. Everyone there is very clearly bringing
- 23:33Speaker 4: their a game, like they're they're there to be actors, right,
- 23:36Speaker 4: They're taking it very seriously. Don Johnson always just like
- 23:39Speaker 4: a pleasure. He's probably the most endearing character of the show.
- 23:43Speaker 4: His character is great. He's the captain of the ship,
- 23:46Speaker 4: and like he's like a captain that like tapes captaining,
- 23:49Speaker 4: like very very seriously, right, Like that's like that's he has.
- 23:53Speaker 4: He's a spirit of the ocean, right, Like that's that's
- 23:55Speaker 4: who he is. He's probably my favorite character, all right.
- 23:59Speaker 4: He's also with tragic characters. So you're like, oh, oh,
- 24:01Speaker 4: this guy.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I've got no more questions for you, and I'm ready
- 24:06Speaker 2: to make a decision.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Well, before you do, I'm gonna tell you about my
- 24:08Speaker 4: favorite part. So because because you need to know about this, Okay. So,
- 24:16Speaker 4: so there's there's an episode where where the nursing practitioner
- 24:21Speaker 4: I can't remember, I think, like her her spleen is
- 24:24Speaker 4: gonna rupture or something. I think that's what's going on,
- 24:27Speaker 4: and and they need to like give her emergency surgery.
- 24:30Speaker 4: But here's the thing. They've accidentally have sailed into a
- 24:34Speaker 4: hurricane and they're like, oh my god, how did we
- 24:38Speaker 4: do this?
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, the captain that takes his job really seriously just accident.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Theselves so embarrassed.
- 24:44Speaker 4: He's so embarrassed when it happens. So, so they're in
- 24:48Speaker 4: a hurricane and they're like, all right, we're in the
- 24:50Speaker 4: eye of the storm right now. And they're like, we
- 24:52Speaker 4: have to go to surgery. How long can we stay
- 24:54Speaker 4: in the eye of the storm. And Captain's like there's
- 24:56Speaker 4: no time, but don't worry. I know maneuvers, and like
- 25:00Speaker 4: he's pulling off all these crazy maneuvers in the giant
- 25:02Speaker 4: cruise ship and there's a moment where they're doing surgery
- 25:04Speaker 4: standing sideways on the freaking wall.
- 25:07Speaker 1: My god, No, I'm not making No, this.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Is not going on my list.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'm not doing it. I refuse to add this to
- 25:13Speaker 2: my list. I am never going to watch this show.
- 25:16Speaker 2: This is horrendous.
- 25:17Speaker 4: This is gonna get.
- 25:20Speaker 2: No, they're canceling this after the season.
- 25:22Speaker 4: I'm hitting the I'm hitting the button that makes you
- 25:25Speaker 4: put this on your list because somebody.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Else has to watch this.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I am not doing it. I refuse. I will not
- 25:31Speaker 2: put myself through this. This is painful.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Uh huh, It's sane television I've seen in so long.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I'm out. I'm out, I'm out. I'm well.
- 25:40Speaker 4: That's our first reject.
- 25:41Speaker 2: That's the first rejection.
- 25:43Speaker 4: That's our first rejection. I can't believe you did. Don
- 25:45Speaker 4: Johnson like that, that's so rude. You did not reject
- 25:50Speaker 4: Rebel Ridge.
- 25:50Speaker 2: But I haven't watched it yet, so technically, what.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Are you doing? Go watch Rebel Rich. Here's my real pitch.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Watch Rebel Rich. It's a fantastastic movie.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I will at some point hit play. I don't know
- 26:03Speaker 3: if it's going to be before the Green Lantern comes out, but.
- 26:06Speaker 4: It is probably my favorite movie I've seen in twenty
- 26:08Speaker 4: twenty four. I've just I've just such a lie.
- 26:13Speaker 2: You're just lie to everybody.
- 26:14Speaker 4: It is lie. But I would put it easily on
- 26:17Speaker 4: my top ten, like easy, top ten, easy.
- 26:19Speaker 2: What's what's what's right behind at mountam Web?
- 26:24Speaker 4: That's at the bottom ten, that's at the bottom dead.
- 26:29Speaker 4: But no, seriously, it is a fantastic movie. You go
- 26:31Speaker 4: watch it. That's our added to your list. We have
- 26:33Speaker 4: our first rejection. I am adding nobody wants this. I
- 26:37Speaker 4: want it. Apparently I'm putting on that on my list.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Nick has one less show he has to put on
- 26:44Speaker 4: his list. Good for you. If either of these shows
- 26:47Speaker 4: have appeal to you, you're putting them on your list,
- 26:50Speaker 4: or they already were, or you're already watching. Let us
