- 0:00Speaker 1: Coach, the energy out there felt different. What changed for
- 0:03Speaker 1: the team today?
- 0:03Speaker 2: It was the new game day scratches from the California
- 0:06Speaker 2: Lottery player is everything.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Those games sent the team's energy through the roof.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Are you saying it was the off field play that
- 0:11Speaker 1: made the difference on the field.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Hey, little play makes your day, and today it made
- 0:15Speaker 3: the game.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That's all for now, coach, one more question play than
- 0:19Speaker 1: you Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco forty nine Ers and
- 0:22Speaker 1: Los Angeles Ram Scratchers from the California Lottery.
- 0:25Speaker 3: A little play can make your day. Peace made responsibly.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Must be eighteen years or older to purchase late or claim.
- 0:30Speaker 4: What are three tips to grow your business that you've
- 0:32Speaker 4: never shared before?
- 0:34Speaker 2: You guys want to kick it off first because I
- 0:36Speaker 2: think they want to hear from you. I'm going I'm
- 0:38Speaker 2: diving on.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, I feel like, you know, to grow
- 0:43Speaker 4: a business, once again, going back to the core principles
- 0:47Speaker 4: of it, you have to have something that's scalable to grow.
- 0:50Speaker 4: That's the first part when looking at a business plan
- 0:52Speaker 4: and looking at starting a business. You have to start
- 0:55Speaker 4: a business that even has the ability to grow. And
- 0:58Speaker 4: what I mean by that is like you know, mom
- 0:59Speaker 4: and pop up stores, local restaurants, barbershops. Although yes, they
- 1:06Speaker 4: all in theory can grow, but nine times out of
- 1:11Speaker 4: ten they won't grow. So that to me is something
- 1:15Speaker 4: that you should already kind of have in your mind.
- 1:17Speaker 4: How can I start a business that is scalable? So
- 1:20Speaker 4: online businesses are scalable. Businesses that don't require a large
- 1:26Speaker 4: amount of overhead are scalable. Businesses that don't require a
- 1:30Speaker 4: large amount of employees, especially at the beginning, are scalable.
- 1:34Speaker 4: So these are all things that you know, we've highlighted
- 1:36Speaker 4: a ton of them before as far as you know
- 1:38Speaker 4: in the e commerce space, but even in the media
- 1:41Speaker 4: space as well. You know, this is like what we're
- 1:43Speaker 4: doing as far as on the media and education side.
- 1:47Speaker 4: That's those are all scalable models. And then also you know,
- 1:51Speaker 4: thinking about starting businesses that you can have multiple different
- 1:55Speaker 4: revenue streams from without reinventing the whale or re changing
- 2:00Speaker 4: the business model. Once again, you know, it's one of
- 2:04Speaker 4: these things to say, Okay, I can start a podcast,
- 2:08Speaker 4: but I can also sell merch because I have to
- 2:10Speaker 4: wear something. And then I can do a live show,
- 2:12Speaker 4: and then I can do YouTube, and then I can
- 2:13Speaker 4: do tutorials and you know, master classes and educational courses
- 2:18Speaker 4: and things of that nature, where is you're not doing
- 2:21Speaker 4: something completely different, but you're just growing, you know, latterly.
- 2:27Speaker 4: And I think that's something that you know, when you're
- 2:29Speaker 4: looking at a business, you should definitely look at to say, Okay,
- 2:33Speaker 4: is this something that I could put in place early
- 2:35Speaker 4: on and kind of have the idea and the vision
- 2:38Speaker 4: and then kind of reverse engineering after that point. And
- 2:42Speaker 4: I also think, you know, starting a business that that
- 2:45Speaker 4: really has impact. I think a lot of times we
- 2:47Speaker 4: start businesses that that's a great lesson just to make money. Yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 4: Like you know, it's like I'm gonna sell nail filers
- 2:58Speaker 4: because you know, it's like, all right.
- 2:59Speaker 3: That's cool to those with their files for they kill us.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can make a lot of money doing that.
- 3:03Speaker 4: But I just feel like, you know, ultimately, the businesses
- 3:06Speaker 4: that are impactful, that have a you know, a tremendous
- 3:09Speaker 4: impact on people's lives and have a purpose deeper than
- 3:14Speaker 4: just you know, making a quick buck, that's something that's
- 3:18Speaker 4: going to help you in business. So you know, finding
- 3:21Speaker 4: your passion, finding your purpose is extremely important and seeing
- 3:27Speaker 4: how you can benefit and help people, because the more
- 3:29Speaker 4: people that you help, the more money that you make.
- 3:31Speaker 4: So you know that's that's like you know, amous, that's
- 3:34Speaker 4: a big lesson, So you just drop. Don't the more
- 3:37Speaker 4: people you help, the more you're gonna make.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Please put that in chet, I know something you're gonna
- 3:40Speaker 2: skim over that.
- 3:41Speaker 5: That is an equation though, yeah, sure ty, yeah, I
- 3:45Speaker 5: mean that was like ten right there.
- 3:47Speaker 3: But I would just add to it, prepare for success.
- 3:50Speaker 5: A lot of times people go into business and they hope, right,
- 3:53Speaker 5: and they don't really they don't envision themselves being successful.
- 3:56Speaker 5: This is like, I'm gonna try it just because I
- 3:58Speaker 5: want to make more. Like you said, I want to
- 3:59Speaker 5: make more money, but prepare for success.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I think.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Shout out to Pinky. We had a dope interview. If
- 4:04Speaker 5: you didn't check that out, congratulations, she played yourself.
- 4:07Speaker 3: But she asked her.
- 4:08Speaker 5: We asked her about scaling and I was like, why
- 4:11Speaker 5: don't you franchise this team?
- 4:12Speaker 3: She's like, I could.
- 4:13Speaker 5: I could be a billionaire by next year if if
- 4:15Speaker 5: I decided to franchise. But my business is like my kid,
- 4:19Speaker 5: My business is only three years old. Did you know
- 4:22Speaker 5: how to speak? Franchi at three years old? And she
- 4:24Speaker 5: was like, my business has to grow, it has to mature,
- 4:27Speaker 5: and so all.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Those things we don't bring you one, I'm gonna bring
- 4:34Speaker 3: you on in a sect.
- 4:42Speaker 5: She was like, my business has to grow, and so
- 4:44Speaker 5: it has to mature the same way a kid has to. Like,
- 4:47Speaker 5: you're not going to be running the one hundred meters
- 4:49Speaker 5: at three years old, right, You're not doing that, And
- 4:51Speaker 5: so you got to treat your businesses like that.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And that's how you prepare for success.
- 4:54Speaker 5: She knows that it's there, she's just making sure that
- 4:57Speaker 5: she does the makes some proper steps and has everything
- 5:01Speaker 5: in line and systems in place and people in place,
- 5:03Speaker 5: so that when the success is ready to be fully
- 5:06Speaker 5: executed on.
- 5:07Speaker 3: You should be ready as well. So prepare for success
- 5:11Speaker 3: for me some similar to what you guys said.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Number one, know what the vision is. So for me,
- 5:16Speaker 2: my goal is to be able to help six billion
- 5:19Speaker 2: people on the planet learn about investing and make where
- 5:22Speaker 2: to get in and where to get out easy for them.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Number two, know when it's your season to retreat. So
- 5:28Speaker 2: after we created a landscape for people to talk about
- 5:33Speaker 2: investing and be comfortable being black doing so, it's a
- 5:37Speaker 2: lot of people.
- 5:37Speaker 3: That popped up talking about investing. That was my time
- 5:40Speaker 3: to retreat.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Now that the economy has shifted and people didn't know
- 5:44Speaker 2: their prices as well as I did.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Now it's my time to go into the attack.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So you guys have had competition quote unquote and copycats,
- 5:53Speaker 2: but I've seen you layer on, move around it in
- 5:57Speaker 2: different genres and become bigger and be omnipresent. Right, So
- 6:02Speaker 2: for me, it's just no one want to pour on more.
- 6:04Speaker 2: So for me in a recession, it's my time to
- 6:06Speaker 2: help more people, because guess what, when everyone's making money,
- 6:09Speaker 2: no one wants to hear be disciplined. Wait for a
- 6:11Speaker 2: bitcoin to go to twenty k, apple to go to
- 6:13Speaker 2: ninety four bucks, right, but then when everything falls apart,
- 6:16Speaker 2: it's like damn, it's really just y'all and trap helping out.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Come to invest fast, and we will give you some
- 6:22Speaker 2: game about how to make money even in the down market.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But those are my three tips. No one went to attack.
- 6:27Speaker 2: When it's your season to ply your business to next
- 6:30Speaker 2: no one want to retreat, and to build proof. And
- 6:32Speaker 2: then you have to have a big vision.
- 6:33Speaker 3: From ernest what's up.
- 6:36Speaker 5: You ever walk into a small business and everything just
- 6:38Speaker 5: works like. The checkout is fast, their seats are digital,
- 6:42Speaker 5: tipping is a breeze, and you're out the door before
- 6:45Speaker 5: the line even builds. Odds are they're using Square. We

- 9:23Speaker 3: You need from people you're want to help.
- 9:27Speaker 4: There, you have dang, there, you have it all right.
- 9:30Speaker 4: So now we're going to bring on a guest, very
- 9:34Speaker 4: special guests. So my god to B. D. Stevens. He's
- 9:37Speaker 4: the plug that introduced us to Steve Harvey. And it's
- 9:44Speaker 4: a good story because he actually, I think his official
- 9:48Speaker 4: title is the head of Business Operations with Steve, so
- 9:51Speaker 4: he kind of handles all the business stuff for him,
- 9:53Speaker 4: and you know, he got him into all these different
- 9:55Speaker 4: investments in the stocks. He spoke about it on the
- 9:57Speaker 4: episode if you watch the episode, and he spoke about
- 9:59Speaker 4: it when he was on Market Mondays last week as well.
- 10:02Speaker 4: But Tabidi is somebody that we developed a relationship with
- 10:06Speaker 4: and not only is he very intelligent and you know,
- 10:09Speaker 4: a whiz kid when it comes to invest in but
- 10:12Speaker 4: just in business in general. Like I said, he kind
- 10:13Speaker 4: of handled all of the business operations. So when you
- 10:16Speaker 4: talk about the team and like when Steve says, like,
- 10:19Speaker 4: you know, I'm not the most technical person, but I
- 10:21Speaker 4: have technical people on my team, Like this is one
- 10:24Speaker 4: of the people that he's actually referring to, so definitely
- 10:27Speaker 4: on his way to being, you know, one of the
- 10:30Speaker 4: biggest mobiles in the game, and he's with the right person.
- 10:34Speaker 4: And I think it's important to highlight, you know, the
- 10:37Speaker 4: people behind the people. A lot of times, like you
- 10:39Speaker 4: see a celebrity and it might be Rick Ross, it
- 10:42Speaker 4: might be Steve Harvey, it might be Ti whatever, and
- 10:45Speaker 4: you know, it's dope to get the game from them,
- 10:47Speaker 4: but you got to understand that they're relying on council
- 10:51Speaker 4: and their counsel is probably even more valuable because that's
- 10:55Speaker 4: the people that's actually giving them and providing them the information.
- 10:58Speaker 4: So it's very rare that you get to speak to
- 10:59Speaker 4: the council. It's very rare you even get to speak
- 11:01Speaker 4: to the celebrity. But you get to speak to celebrity
- 11:03Speaker 4: a lot of times, but you don't really get to
- 11:05Speaker 4: speak to the council, to to the people that's actually
- 11:08Speaker 4: advising these people and actually telling them like why this
- 11:12Speaker 4: is a good move, why this is a bad move,
- 11:13Speaker 4: and brokering deals broken in the relationships. So this is
- 11:17Speaker 4: one of these you know, inside inside conversations that you
- 11:20Speaker 4: guys can be a part of. So without further ado,
- 11:24Speaker 4: we'll bring on a guy. What's up and.
- 11:27Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Everybody, what's good? Man?
- 11:29Speaker 6: I'm like, what's good?
- 11:33Speaker 4: Well, good man? Thank you for joining us. Man. So, y'all,
- 11:35Speaker 4: I was just giving the intro and kind of just
- 11:38Speaker 4: breaking it down, so I got a lot of questions.
- 11:41Speaker 4: But before before we start, I think it'll be dope
- 11:43Speaker 4: because it's a good story actually for you to tell
- 11:47Speaker 4: how you began working with Steve Hall, because we kind
- 11:51Speaker 4: of heard it from his side when he was on
- 11:54Speaker 4: the show, but I would love to hear it from
- 11:57Speaker 4: from your side.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Definitely. Definitely. Well, uh, once again, appreciate y'all for having me. Man.
- 12:03Speaker 7: As y'all say, y'all are the biggest finality. They even
- 12:06Speaker 7: really do interviews often, bro, So I appreciate you guys.
- 12:12Speaker 7: But honestly, man, like I said, I went to more
- 12:14Speaker 7: House or as you guys know, I went to Morehouse
- 12:17Speaker 7: so for business administration, but the concentration of marketing and psychology,
- 12:22Speaker 7: so you know, I just wanted to understand, like how
- 12:23Speaker 7: people thought a certain way and why they thought a
- 12:25Speaker 7: certain way. While I was in school, I actually started
- 12:29Speaker 7: a shoe company. So I was manufacturing, producing my own
- 12:32Speaker 7: canvas and leave the shoes, so similar to Times and Nikes,
- 12:36Speaker 7: and it was called Steps by Stevens. So for every
- 12:38Speaker 7: pair of shoes, I sold over buy meals to women
- 12:41Speaker 7: and children shutters nationwide. With my business partners at the time,
- 12:45Speaker 7: Malcolm Connor and mister Harvey's son, progerct Hart, was actually
- 12:50Speaker 7: doing all our creative directions. So that's kind of how
- 12:51Speaker 7: I got introduced to mister Harvey. So I did that
- 12:54Speaker 7: all throughout college, did extremely well. One on his talk
- 12:57Speaker 7: show one day to kind of promote our product. When
- 13:00Speaker 7: I came on stage, his CEO at the time, he
- 13:04Speaker 7: was like, hey, he should come work for me, And
- 13:06Speaker 7: of course I was like, man, I got my own company.
- 13:08Speaker 6: At the time, I'm.
- 13:09Speaker 7: Good, bro, Like, you know, I'm clearly here selling shoes.
- 13:13Speaker 7: But some times went by and I just spent time
- 13:15Speaker 7: around the harvest, but volunteered their mentorship camp. You know,
- 13:18Speaker 7: they have the National Mintronship Camp where they mentor you know,
- 13:21Speaker 7: two hundred fifty followers boys. So I participated that and
- 13:25Speaker 7: kind of just built a reputation for myself there.
- 13:27Speaker 6: It's like a hard worker.
- 13:28Speaker 7: And then one day mister Harvey called me and was like, listen,
- 13:31Speaker 7: you know, I want you to come on to be
- 13:33Speaker 7: a part of this team.
- 13:34Speaker 6: Like what are you about to do?
- 13:36Speaker 7: I had just fidled out with my company, as you
- 13:39Speaker 7: all remember, you know, twenty fourteen, China had a bit
- 13:42Speaker 7: of a recession and I had about seventy five thousand
- 13:46Speaker 7: and raw materials over in China.
- 13:49Speaker 6: And at the time, I didn't have any.
- 13:50Speaker 7: Credit because I was twenty one years old, so I
- 13:53Speaker 7: didn't really have any credit. So of course that was
- 13:55Speaker 7: all my cash. I didn't know much about credit, and
- 13:57Speaker 7: I won't give me a line of credit. I couldn't
- 14:00Speaker 7: get the materials over, so I end up. You know,
- 14:04Speaker 7: one of my failures that kind of led me into
- 14:06Speaker 7: where I am now was the fact that, like my
- 14:08Speaker 7: shoe company fizzled out because I made a bad investment.
- 14:12Speaker 7: So Miss Harvard's like, what are you about to do?
- 14:14Speaker 7: Of course I was, you know, I'm about to go
- 14:16Speaker 7: to Harvard. I got axcepted to every Harvy League in
- 14:18Speaker 7: the country, so I was gonna go to Harvard. I
- 14:21Speaker 7: was gonna go to Harvard and get the executive NBA
- 14:24Speaker 7: and then mister Harvey basically asked, you know, what are
- 14:26Speaker 7: you going to Harvard to and I told him, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 7: meet JFK's grand count son and so on and so forth,
- 14:32Speaker 7: because you know, essentially a lot of people go get
- 14:34Speaker 7: their NBA to network. So he asked me, if I
- 14:37Speaker 7: can get a better network and make the same amount
- 14:39Speaker 7: of money, if not better without going to school, would
- 14:41Speaker 7: I do it? And at the time, I said no,
- 14:44Speaker 7: left his house to got in my car and on
- 14:46Speaker 7: the way home, I was like, man, that's actually a
- 14:51Speaker 7: great opportunity. So I gave him a call like, yo,
- 14:52Speaker 7: mister Harvey, you know if I come by the house tomorrow,
- 14:56Speaker 7: and from there it was a route. So I just
- 14:57Speaker 7: started doing research and development. At the time myself brought
- 15:02Speaker 7: the apartment's got see the Davis that worked on a deal.
- 15:06Speaker 6: That at the time.
- 15:08Speaker 7: What I didn't know was, you know, they said Stretcher
- 15:11Speaker 7: was one of the best deals that.
- 15:12Speaker 6: It came through the company at the time.
- 15:14Speaker 7: And after that is the Harvard's like list, I just
- 15:16Speaker 7: want you to kind of view with me on a
- 15:19Speaker 7: day to day and from there it was around this
- 15:22Speaker 7: kind of game more and more responsibility that I saw
- 15:24Speaker 7: people not you know, taking opportunities that were clearly in
- 15:27Speaker 7: front of them.
- 15:27Speaker 8: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 15:31Speaker 8: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 15:35Speaker 8: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 15:39Speaker 8: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 15:43Speaker 8: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 15:47Speaker 8: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christineoman, the United States Secretary
- 15:51Speaker 8: of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings
- 15:56Speaker 8: are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over one
- 16:00Speaker 8: hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you are
- 16:03Speaker 8: here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly one
- 16:07Speaker 8: thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will never return.
- 16:12Speaker 8: But if you register using our CBP home app and
- 16:15Speaker 8: leave now, you could be allowed to return legally. Do
- 16:18Speaker 8: what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws, border
- 16:23Speaker 8: and families will be protected.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security,
