[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes a world looks like you ain't ever seen it before.
0:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Just be how never ended with those, how you need as a door.
0:16
[SPEAKER_01]: Searching for something to put a smile back on your face.
0:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Just remembering unusual times that can come from an unusual place.
0:30
[SPEAKER_01]: I need a partner for a ride Cause everybody needs a ride Such a bird is to the side Just ask See the word now be there Just ask
0:49
[SPEAKER_01]: I know the greatest things in the life I'll come in a pair They say hindsight's twenty twenty That ain't far enough behind me So we can walk this sweetest honey I think hindsight's nineteen nineteen Isn't need to pretend I got a hand I can land Who's like you really need a friend Just ask
1:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Shit, nineties shows taught me.
1:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Shit, nineties shows taught me was not filmed before live studio audience.
1:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you ready to finish up our coverage of Felicity?
1:34
[SPEAKER_03]: So are we?
1:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Shit, nineties shows taught me.
1:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just erling here with my co-hosts.
1:39
[SPEAKER_03]: They're hungry.
1:40
[SPEAKER_03]: They're how are you?
1:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Just I just can't believe it.
1:46
[SPEAKER_02]: another one in the books and another one in the books yeah well it's kind of crazy like this is our
1:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Third, like big show that we've completed our fourth show overall.
2:03
[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, like, these times are always sad.
2:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I really am not a good person with change.
2:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes this might be good change.
2:13
[SPEAKER_02]: This might be, you know, we've, I don't remember when do we start this project, Jessica?
2:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I have the deets hold on.
2:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I have a spreadsheet that will tell me this information.
2:26
[SPEAKER_03]: So we started Felicity November, eighteenth, twenty to twenty three.
2:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
2:34
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that was a crazy year for me.
2:36
[SPEAKER_02]: in general, like a lot of change, a lot of change for you too.
2:42
[SPEAKER_02]: And I felt I feel like this was especially like the first three seasons, like a really good project for us and like distraction and
2:54
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we haven't been the most positive about the show, Felicity in the last few months since we started covering season four, but I piggybacked off of you.
3:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for my piggyback ride.
3:09
[SPEAKER_02]: You listen to all of our wrap ups, correct?
3:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
3:13
[SPEAKER_03]: So I went back because I was like, they're still I have watching like all these episodes again.
3:18
[SPEAKER_03]: So I thought a good way to remember my feelings on everything is to just go back and listen to us.
3:24
[SPEAKER_03]: So I listened to seasons one through three are wrap ups of each of those seasons.
3:30
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was pretty enlightening.
3:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I have to say like I
3:33
[SPEAKER_03]: because I didn't remember.
3:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's been a while.
3:36
[SPEAKER_03]: My memory is already not great.
3:39
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's been almost two years since we started this project.
3:42
[SPEAKER_03]: So it was really interesting going back and listening and kind of hearing.
3:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Almost like, again, it's very rollercoastery are feelings on Felicity.
3:53
[SPEAKER_03]: In the very beginning after season one, you know, it took you a really long time to really start to enjoy the show.
4:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I think both of us have cited season one episode nine Thanksgiving as like the first episode.
4:06
[SPEAKER_03]: We were like all in the show and that it kind of took us until then to really feel that way.
4:12
[SPEAKER_03]: And then
4:13
[SPEAKER_03]: It took us until season two to really start enjoying the character of Felicity.
4:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, at the end of season two, you were like, this show is great.
4:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I am all in on this show.
4:25
[SPEAKER_03]: It is fantastic.
4:26
[SPEAKER_03]: We were both very high on it.
4:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I think like seasons one and two for me are up there in terms of which one I like the most.
4:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I probably would say season two above season one, but like,
4:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I really liked both of them.
4:41
[SPEAKER_03]: And then this season three wrap up was perhaps the most interesting because you were much higher on season three than I remembered.
4:50
[SPEAKER_03]: You said it season three is your favorite of the three seasons so far because you loved the Avery mess.
4:57
[SPEAKER_03]: so much and because you loved null being chaotic and problematic with hyperbanks and all that stuff like interesting you were like this is messy.
5:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm here for it.
5:08
[SPEAKER_03]: So you really liked season three.
5:10
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you I think your rankings was like three to one and mine was like two one three basically so far.
5:20
[SPEAKER_03]: That might have been a state of mania that I was saying.
5:24
[SPEAKER_03]: I really think it was because to me listening back season two felt like you were genuinely like really excited.
5:33
[SPEAKER_03]: You really thought the characters were well developed.
5:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Whereas season three feels more like this show is not as like unrecognizable to what it used to be, but there's chaos which is fun.
5:46
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
5:46
[SPEAKER_03]: So like it was almost like there are such bad stuff that it makes it for fun podcasting.
5:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
5:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
5:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
5:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
5:55
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's probably the right tag.
5:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I read listen to our recaps or wrap ups rather of one and two.
6:03
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't get to three.
6:06
[SPEAKER_02]: But I
6:08
[SPEAKER_02]: listening back, I found it to be really interesting to hear our thoughts as well, my thoughts, because, you know, like, I remember what I think I remember, but then like, do I really remember it?
6:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Or, you know what I mean?
6:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I do.
6:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Like one of those things where just like you get told the story so many times, this is my actual memory.
6:28
[SPEAKER_03]: My memory is faulty.
6:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
6:30
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why I witnessed accounts aren't reliable.
6:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
6:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Just we can a lot of things affect our own memories of things.
6:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was really interesting going back and listening because I think season three is really where things took a turn for us in terms of our enjoyment of the show because listening to us at the end of season two kind of making our season three predictions for like what we were hoping think
6:57
[SPEAKER_03]: It just felt like everything kind of fell apart in season three and like they really went all over the place.
7:03
[SPEAKER_03]: There was like the whole Avery shooting.
7:05
[SPEAKER_03]: There's the molly stuff like theirs.
7:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Just stuff that we absolutely hated or felt apathetic about, which also isn't great.
7:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
7:16
[SPEAKER_02]: So you're saying that Julie leaving and Molly joining the show ruined felicity is that plus avery I would say oh no avery was fine.
7:25
[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have a problem with her.
7:26
[SPEAKER_03]: I just think yeah I do think the season three is where it took a turn for the worse and then
7:33
[SPEAKER_03]: With season four, I mean, we, with this is while trying to articulate this point, like we struggled with a lot of season four.
7:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Like a lot of it was like, we're spinning our wheels.
7:44
[SPEAKER_03]: What are we doing here?
7:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Felicity cheated.
7:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, but who got on her, like plagiarized.
7:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, but who cares?
7:48
[SPEAKER_03]: That's wrapped up instantly.
7:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it was interesting listening to us make our predictions at the end of the season three podcast four season four because I feel like our version of the show would have been so much better.
8:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I'm sure.
8:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure.
8:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I feel as though like we can totally be really good writers.
8:09
[SPEAKER_03]: If we had really good ideas for the epilogue, which we will talk about, because I want to talk through the predictions that we had made and see if like literally any of them came true.
8:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like we did a better job at writing an epilogue for the series than the series did.
8:22
[SPEAKER_03]: And obviously neither one of us would have had time travel anywhere on our predictions list.
8:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
8:31
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
8:32
[SPEAKER_02]: I see that sign behind you, Jessica.
8:34
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it stinks of spoilers.
8:38
[SPEAKER_02]: You'll call me the spoiler queen.
8:41
[SPEAKER_02]: You literally have no.
8:43
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a time machine.
8:46
[SPEAKER_02]: And a, call me no stradamus and a sewer cap on your wall film, real.
8:54
[SPEAKER_02]: You have it.
8:55
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like you had to have been spoiled.
8:56
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm joking, but I mean, yeah, I really didn't.
9:01
[SPEAKER_02]: So like, you know, typically we do do a season wrap up.
9:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, with Dawson's Creek, we did a season wrap up and a series wrap up and like,
9:10
[SPEAKER_02]: I think like we apologize that that's just not the route we're going in.
9:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you want to hear like our thoughts on season four, I feel like we did do a pretty decent job recapping stuff with DBK last week.
9:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I don't just I just don't want to like rehash the same.
9:27
[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to just be a very negative podcast.
9:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, truly, it would just be like an hour of us ranting about how disappointed we are.
9:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And for many reasons, one of which, that's not very fun podcasting, both to do and to listen to, but also like timing reasons.
9:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going away this next week.
9:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's, it makes more sense to put a button on Felicity by just talking about the entire series as a whole and our thoughts.
9:52
[SPEAKER_03]: coming away from the show.
9:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I do think if I had to guess or if if memory serves correctly, I know for most people they did not enjoy season four like fans at the time.
10:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't really enjoy season four.
10:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I think most people agree that seasons one and two are like the best and then it goes.
10:11
[SPEAKER_03]: It kind of goes off a cliff and like season three and four.
10:14
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a steep, you know, decline in quality.
10:20
[SPEAKER_03]: But do we want to start by seeing what predictions we got correct?
10:23
[SPEAKER_03]: And then we can kind of talk about the series as a whole.
10:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
10:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
10:26
[SPEAKER_03]: So four season four, here were your predictions.
10:30
[SPEAKER_03]: The girls and guys departments are still in full swing.
10:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so like the living arrangements, which I think that's true.
10:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Megan went over to Sean when they got married, because they got married, right?
10:44
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, the Ben and Noble were both living in Sean's apartment, even though it made no sense for them, too.
10:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Noel and Felicity spend the summer together, and Ben is pissy about it.
10:54
[SPEAKER_03]: So, Noel and Felicity did spend the summer together.
10:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Noel wasn't super pissy about it, though.
10:59
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
11:00
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
11:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Felicity spent the summer with Noel.
11:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
11:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
11:07
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
11:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
11:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
11:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Ben was not that pissy about it.
11:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
11:11
[SPEAKER_02]: But they did spend the day when it's been.
11:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
11:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Ben seemed pretty chill about it.
11:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
11:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Ben's an unbothered king.
11:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
11:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Love triangle is in full swing.
11:22
[SPEAKER_03]: We're back and forth the entire time.
11:24
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they're not really, not really though.
11:27
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like kind of always Ben.
11:28
[SPEAKER_03]: And then Noel was just like, maybe Noel, maybe Noel.
11:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, shrug, maybe Noel.
11:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Ultimately, Felicity chooses Ben, strictly because I think she gets with Noel's season four and then flip flops back to Ben.
11:42
[SPEAKER_03]: True.
11:43
[SPEAKER_03]: This is true.
11:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Sure.
11:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Double season finale in the first finale, Felicity chooses one of the boys and in the second finale, Felicity chooses neither boy and chooses herself.
11:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
11:55
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we've talked about this so many times.
11:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I feel as though that would have been, I think like that would have been really good.
12:01
[SPEAKER_02]: In a way, it was almost the opposite.
12:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Like she almost like didn't choose either boy, chose her self or her doctor career, but then right Lee Ben came and then in the second finale like it's ultimately Ben.
12:17
[SPEAKER_02]: So, um, but it wasn't as like, um,
12:23
[SPEAKER_02]: pro like I can a woman can do it on her own.
12:27
[SPEAKER_02]: She doesn't need a man right as I was hoping and as I think like if this show was made in two thousand and twenty five I ultimately think that that's what have been that's what would have happened yeah I totally agree with you Megan and Sean break up but make up by the finale
12:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
12:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, no, yeah, it's complicated.
12:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I think, uh, Dean and Deluca gets shut down for good.
12:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, no, like, have a year they get robbed and have your gets fired, but I don't think the store itself shuts down.
13:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Lena and Tracy don't get married because their families don't get along.
13:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe Tracy is a mom guy and that gives a lane of it.
13:11
[SPEAKER_02]: But don't get married.
13:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Mom, guys, sorry.
13:13
[SPEAKER_02]: You give me the egg.
13:13
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie.
13:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let's go home.
13:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't.
13:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to, I've never dated a mom guy.
13:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
13:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Never.
13:22
[SPEAKER_02]: So, so you're kind of a mom girl.
13:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
13:25
[SPEAKER_02]: I love, I love, I love you to death, but it does kind of give me the egg.
13:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm happy it gives you the egg, I guess.
13:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even call it such a mom.
13:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I love my mom.
13:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I talked to my mom.
13:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I would be, it's weird if I, if I go a week without chatting with my mom.
13:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is weird.
13:42
[SPEAKER_03]: And we're just for clothes, for friends, you know.
13:45
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to shave you.
13:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
13:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't feel ashamed.
13:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
13:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Molly.
13:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, this, well, I'm telling you, the season three wrap-up was worth re-listening to for this moment alone.
14:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Your prediction that Molly will die in a scuba accident over the summer and will never see her again.
14:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Did we see, we saw Molly a little bit in the season.
14:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Did we?
14:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Did we not?
14:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we did.
14:12
[SPEAKER_03]: We were like, we're at the top of the season maybe.
14:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
14:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
14:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
14:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I think very early on we did see her and we were like, oh, but then she'll ever.
14:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Again.
14:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
14:21
[SPEAKER_03]: This is essentially what it was.
14:23
[SPEAKER_03]: No, get to job at Apple or something techy.
14:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
14:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Do I ever shut the fuck up?
14:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Why do I?
14:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Why did I make so many predictions?
14:31
[SPEAKER_02]: You made a lot of them.
14:32
[SPEAKER_02]: You never make this many for Buffy.
14:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Geez.
14:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Keep going.
14:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Then becomes an EMT.
14:37
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no.
14:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Dr. Who would have saw that coming?
14:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Elena is a successful doctor and pays for other women's doctors schooling like that scholarship that she had gotten.
14:46
[SPEAKER_02]: So this is like the one thing that I kind of want to complain about again about like I would have loved if there was in the in a time jump.
14:58
[SPEAKER_02]: in a landed in die, or maybe she came back to life, whatever, whatever.
15:01
[SPEAKER_02]: If there is some sort of reference to that, because I was like reminded of that when I was listening to the rap-ups and like how much I loved that story line and how I felt like it was one of like a Lina's stronger.
15:16
[SPEAKER_02]: storyline slash like plot points.
15:19
[SPEAKER_02]: And I really think it's a missed opportunity that they didn't.
15:25
[SPEAKER_02]: She didn't we didn't get to see her pay it forward.
15:27
[SPEAKER_02]: That would been like really nice.
15:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I totally agree.
15:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I think even knowing like what every character did post college would have been nice like we really didn't get that like for almost any of them.
15:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, every single time.
15:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I mean, that's one of my favorite things about nineties movies or like early, two thousand movies.
15:50
[SPEAKER_02]: You get the little thing at the bottom.
15:51
[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, what they did.
15:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
15:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and like, you have like American girl who's like playing in the background and just like, like, like, Elwoods like becomes like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah has just been boys or something, whatever.
16:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's like such.
16:07
[SPEAKER_02]: We like closure.
16:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
16:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I love closure.
16:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I love closure.
16:10
[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't get it.
16:10
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
16:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Felicity becomes an art therapist or an art teacher.
16:16
[SPEAKER_03]: That would have been so good.
16:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
16:19
[SPEAKER_03]: I agree with you.
16:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Art therapist, I would have thought, but I'm great.
16:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Sally was dead all along or we finally meet her.
16:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Neither because the show hates us.
16:27
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
16:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Now was your last prediction.
16:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
16:29
[SPEAKER_03]: So I like your version of the season much better.
16:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
16:35
[SPEAKER_03]: My predictions.
16:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Lots of time spent on the Noel Ben Felicity Triangle.
16:41
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like, yeah.
16:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Molly dies off screen by choking on chicken while alone.
16:48
[SPEAKER_03]: I wish.
16:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
16:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Felicity and no'll do not fuck over the summer, which is true.
16:53
[SPEAKER_03]: She they don't fucking till right after.
16:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I also had predicted no will have his best season yet, which is not true.
17:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I would argue that like season.
17:04
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, no, season one.
17:07
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think no, no, he hated no one season one.
17:10
[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe it was two.
17:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it was the break up, you know, I don't even think he had a full season where I liked him.
17:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to just say when he did the breakup kit, it was very peaked.
17:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Was that three or two?
17:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that was three.
17:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Was the breakup cake?
17:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Because that was savory.
17:24
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that we laid him best in three because he's was a very possessive boyfriend.
17:29
[SPEAKER_02]: And I forgot about that.
17:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the problem with three was that was also the Tyra Banks time.
17:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I was four.
17:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, this wasn't season four.
17:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Four.
17:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Four.
17:40
[SPEAKER_02]: He really wasn't that great.
17:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, why?
17:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Why was he not that great?
17:44
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that he just like was focused on his career.
17:47
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, he was fine, I guess.
17:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I just, I don't know.
17:50
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
17:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Natalie returns and they get a quicky divorce and after that, she fucks Richard.
17:58
[SPEAKER_03]: But they do get like a quicky divorce, but there's really not much with Natalie at all.
18:03
[SPEAKER_02]: At least he got the money.
18:05
[SPEAKER_02]: The like, fifty thousand dollars.
18:07
[SPEAKER_02]: What a win to marry a crazy bitch and get fifty thousand dollars.
18:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
18:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, Elaine and Tracy break up.
18:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Do not get married.
18:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
18:18
[SPEAKER_03]: We finally meet Sally.
18:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I wish.
18:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Nope.
18:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Sean and Meg, Mary.
18:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just kidding.
18:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Sean and Megan get married in Vegas.
18:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
18:27
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, no, but they got married very quickly.
18:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
18:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
18:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Sean and Ben something that makes him and Megan a shit ton of money because she helps with it or something.
18:37
[SPEAKER_02]: I actually think that the clothing, the, I forgetfully, it was so dumb.
18:45
[SPEAKER_02]: I really wanted to forget.
18:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I had forgotten that.
18:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
18:48
[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that Schmegen made some money.
18:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
18:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Not like he didn't invent like Amazon.com, but no.
19:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, Richard does something very impressive.
19:02
[SPEAKER_03]: No, not at all.
19:03
[SPEAKER_03]: No, he did everything for Richard.
19:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't.
19:06
[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't really see Richard that much.
19:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Javier opens his own cafe where all the characters visit, Noel decides to sign and website and all of that nonsense, Felicity's art will be hanging up.
19:16
[SPEAKER_03]: None of that.
19:17
[SPEAKER_03]: That would be nice.
19:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
19:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Megan becomes a guidance counselor, a lot, Tony Pavone.
19:24
[SPEAKER_02]: We have no clue.
19:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Ben becomes an EMT in New York City and Felicity is an artist who also teaches.
19:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, once again, we don't know.
19:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
19:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Felicity ends the series with Ben, hashtag team Ben.
19:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
19:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's true.
19:38
[SPEAKER_03]: And Elena makes a cool doctor invention with Sean's help.
19:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh.
19:43
[SPEAKER_03]: No, didn't happen.
19:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, it's just, uh, yeah, I don't know.
19:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like...
19:52
[SPEAKER_03]: When in listening to our season wrap-ups of seasons past, I'm the biggest thing that I'm hit with is just how many characters I feel like I knew very well in those seasons versus once we got to season three and then definitely in season four, it was like we only care about what Felicity's up to and it involves Nolan Ben and like
20:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Fuck Alena, fuckovier, like Megan and Sean are gonna argue, and that's gonna be that.
20:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Like we really weren't.
20:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Once Megan and Sean got married, it was like all their content was their marital strife, basically.
20:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
20:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
20:33
[SPEAKER_03]: It's really like, I had totally forgotten.
20:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Sean had to have one of his testicles removed.
20:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I had forgotten that completely.
20:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like he finds Judaism, right?
20:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Like all of these very interesting character things that happen.
20:47
[SPEAKER_03]: completely just fly away and we're left with just like Megan and Sean arguing.
20:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just think it's like a lot of loss opportunities.
20:59
[SPEAKER_02]: I really do think that, you know, I feel as though
21:05
[SPEAKER_02]: We did spend a lot of time in seasons one and two, where I feel like everybody was working on growth.
21:12
[SPEAKER_02]: And ultimately, I feel like the one character that did show a full amount of growth was probably Megan, but throughout all four seasons.
21:23
[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe Ben as well, maybe not the last season, but like I ultimately do like where
21:33
[SPEAKER_02]: besides the cheating, which whatever.
21:36
[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that I really like Ben's character progression, but I feel as though like Noel was pretty much like the same from start to finish, and I think that Felicity was on a good growth path, and then I think that she reverted.
21:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I feel as though, and then Elena, it's like who knows, like they didn't give her enough same thing with Sean, like I,
22:03
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, thinking about like what this shows ultimately about, it seems as though, and we said this a few times, it seems as though, all along it was the Ben and Felicity story.
22:13
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that like I came into this thinking that this was a show about a woman finding her own being independent for the first time, not following the path that her parents like laid out for her.
22:30
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like I think we both went into this show thinking that like that's what this was and maybe that's where ultimately our disappointment lies because that's maybe it felt like that's where we were leading in the first few seasons but that's not where we wound up and ultimately it's just like not satisfying because
22:54
[SPEAKER_02]: It just tells us that like, yeah, you know, your own personal growth doesn't matter.
22:59
[SPEAKER_02]: You're just like the same person as you were day one as you are day one million and I don't know.
23:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't, I don't, I think like it doesn't really aside from the fact like you can feel warm and fuzzy that like
23:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Felicity and Ben seem to be together at the end.
23:17
[SPEAKER_02]: And if that's what you were looking for throughout the entire series, like maybe that's satisfying for you.
23:22
[SPEAKER_02]: But to I really do think that the first few seasons had like really great stuff.
23:29
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of
23:31
[SPEAKER_02]: it's very sad to take season four into consideration.
23:34
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just like I guess like our job is in the next like hour or so is to try to separate season four and maybe even parts of season three from how we feel about Felicity the show because ultimately if we just focus on the first two seasons and like the highlights of season three and four, I do think that
24:01
[SPEAKER_02]: This was a good show so I'm curious like what were like some of your like bright spots
24:13
[SPEAKER_03]: I think most of my bright spots in the show are when the whole group is together.
24:22
[SPEAKER_03]: So episodes that stand out to me are Thanksgiving.
24:26
[SPEAKER_03]: That was like a big episode for both of us because it was like the first time we really felt connected to the show.
24:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I love assassins.
24:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously it's like a game sort of a episode which is really fun.
24:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that like, I like the idea that they did documentary twice more than I actually liked it in execution.
24:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I just like the concept of it, but I really didn't end up liking how it turned out.
24:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And then there was a streak of episodes
25:02
[SPEAKER_03]: that we were very, very high on.
25:06
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it was, I'm pretty sure it was Ben was here at the Aritha Theory and final answer.
25:12
[SPEAKER_03]: So the episode, twenty, twenty one and twenty two in season two.
25:17
[SPEAKER_03]: That was like a very strong string of episodes all together.
25:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm fairly certain one of those has the the time machine line in it.
25:27
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like the Ben's friend Dresher moment because we were really high on Ben in season two.
25:33
[SPEAKER_03]: really high on Ben on Felicity on Julie like all of these characters having really great moments and it stands out to me that like Julie leaving the show and Molly's inclusion in the show is kind of where I would put the marker as to like this is when the show started to go downhill for me is at this point in the show and I'm not saying that it's like you know correlation isn't causation like I'm you know I'm not saying that that's the reason the show started to go downhill
26:01
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just when the show felt like it no longer understood its characters and no longer was interested in having them have some sort of growth and maturity and like, you know, progression because we've covered other shows that have delved into college years, you know, like Dawson's Creek did it.
26:19
[SPEAKER_03]: We're currently in the college years of Buffy.
26:21
[SPEAKER_03]: You famously love a college show and I think for good reason because generally,
26:26
[SPEAKER_03]: You do a lot of growing up in the ages between eighteen and twenty two, you know, the normal college ages, you know, average, whatever.
26:33
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that was kind of a missing.
26:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I remember early on, Sarah, when we talked about the show, one of your like sticking points with season one was because the show takes place in New York City that like, it doesn't feel like collegey because there's not like,
26:50
[SPEAKER_03]: a proper campus, if you will, right?
26:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Like you're missing out there.
26:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the Greek life stuff, like you're not really feeling those vibes.
26:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
26:59
[SPEAKER_03]: But I think we quickly got over that.
27:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I don't remember really being bothered by that as the show went on.
27:04
[SPEAKER_03]: But there were a lot of good stuff in the beginning.
27:07
[SPEAKER_03]: And I think a lot of it was because the show was choosing to explore
27:13
[SPEAKER_03]: the friendships as much as the romantic stuff.
27:17
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I feel like they kind of didn't care about the friendships as much later on.
27:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Which is disappointing, right?
27:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Because, I mean, you've talked about this.
27:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, friends, you make an high school friends, you make in college, like, sometimes they're your lifelong friends.
27:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you're going through pivotal life changes with these people.
27:33
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not like this in the buffet podcast.
27:36
[SPEAKER_03]: So okay, so that's oh, yeah, that's all right.
27:38
[SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
27:38
[SPEAKER_03]: We did just talk about that.
27:39
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, so I don't know.
27:40
[SPEAKER_03]: What about what about you?
27:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like do you have specific ones that that stand out in your memory?
27:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that when this show, I think let me favorite moments is like how dramatic slash messy the show can get and how
27:55
[SPEAKER_02]: each of the characters kind of have their like breakout or breakdown moments, which were a lot of fun.
28:06
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that it was like the always like the Thanksgiving episodes because like
28:13
[SPEAKER_02]: full like I the second Thanksgiving episode was so unhinged when they had like Greg and Greg's mom there.
28:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh and like Noel and Felicity got caught kissing.
28:27
[SPEAKER_02]: That was like insane.
28:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Um I think that a lot of the stuff like a lot of the like Julie on the train saying the song like that was like super unhinged and like I like the
28:43
[SPEAKER_02]: mental picture of like Megan in this outside of the subway giving like this disgusting, sharp look at the list of who's inside the train.
28:54
[SPEAKER_02]: That was like so iconic.
28:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that
28:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, the Avery stuff was like really unhinged.
29:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Like there was so many, like really unhinged, dramatic, messy things where I'm just like, I am just like eating this up.
29:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Like these people are fucking idiots.
29:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the beats, the beats, like I can't stop watching.
29:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's absolutely chaos.
29:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the first Thanksgiving episode, the fact that like,
29:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Hannah shows up and it's the first time Felicity meets her and I think they wind up kissing them too and she's like, you people are free and it isn't like I think like the highs was like how I would be like, oh, what kind of mess are these people getting into now?
29:45
[SPEAKER_02]: And it was like really enjoyable to see them.
29:50
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that like what else did I I really have I really want to rewatch season one eventually because I don't I honestly don't think that I gave it a fair enough shot and especially because
30:07
[SPEAKER_02]: hearing back about some of the plot devices or the plots that happened or the episodes that we watched like they're definitely was a lot of good stuff there and I don't know why I wasn't as high on season one quite honestly like it could absolutely be like life
30:26
[SPEAKER_02]: like where I was in my life at that time, like I mentioned earlier, it was just like kind of like a huge adjustment period for me.
30:35
[SPEAKER_02]: And I might have just not been in the best mindset to, I said like I went through a lot of change.
30:41
[SPEAKER_02]: And that was another thing that was changing, another thing, another new thing.
30:45
[SPEAKER_02]: And I wonder if like me in a better head space would watch it and be like,
30:51
[SPEAKER_02]: This is like an incredible season of television.
30:54
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I was like such like a grump about it when we watched it the first time.
31:01
[SPEAKER_02]: I am assuming that I would probably feel differently.
31:05
[SPEAKER_03]: So I think in my, and I also think part of it is because you love Dawson's Creek so much.
31:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
31:12
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you had very high expectations and like it was having to live up to how you felt about Dawson's Creek.
31:20
[SPEAKER_03]: And like, yeah, that's really hard to do.
31:23
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the shows are very different.
31:25
[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't think that we really knew how different they would be because neither one of us had seen the show where it's at least I had seen Dawson's screen, you know?
31:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
31:34
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, talking about the college stuff, like, I also think that
31:39
[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those things remember like our old thing like is this American Ashley movie or is it a movie that Mary can't actually are in remember.
31:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was used to see that.
31:49
[SPEAKER_02]: This is like is this a college show or is this a show that just takes place in college.
31:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's just a show that he's placing college is not laid out.
31:56
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not supposed to be like a college show.
32:00
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that coming into it, I was like, oh, it's going to be like so fun.
32:05
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be college.
32:06
[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to have, I mean, we did have in season two, talking about like Greek life.
32:10
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking that episode where Felicity gets drunk at the party and like the pictures taken with her in a solo pop list.
32:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Like that was frapp party adjacent, as such.
32:21
[SPEAKER_02]: I think she was at a frapp party.
32:23
[SPEAKER_03]: There, there's like, ecology things, right, like, benefitlessly breaking into the pool, field, ecology, like their ecology occurrences, but it never really feels like college is.
32:37
[SPEAKER_03]: a main part of the show is like a lot of times the college feels like a character in and of itself or like the setting feels like it's own character yeah and I wouldn't say that was the case as much as New York City is iconic and like you know recognizable and all those other adjectives like it just doesn't feel like
32:57
[SPEAKER_03]: that is in its DNA necessarily.
33:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
33:00
[SPEAKER_02]: So I really think it's like a lot about it, especially in the beginning when we're covering it was like expectations versus reality.
33:07
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that like eventually, you know, if we had
33:12
[SPEAKER_02]: like more time or maybe in time, like I will rewatch season one and I'm very curious how I would take things in then.
33:25
[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, honestly, like I would watch season one and I would watch season two again, like I think that and then like a select few episodes from three and four.
33:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Like talking about manly felicity.
33:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that like, you know, she, I also think like she is just very different than anybody that we've covered before.
33:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Like she's kind of a weirdo.
33:53
[SPEAKER_02]: She makes like really like bad quick decisions.
33:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I think that a lot of the times we're left at being like, Flessy, you have to be a smart girl.
34:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, right?
34:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you, like, always got straight A's.
34:08
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I don't know.
34:09
[SPEAKER_02]: She was the valley of Victorian, but she could have been the valley of Victorian.
34:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, she was going to be a doctor.
34:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how can you be so fucking stupid?
34:18
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like, it was like so weird being like,
34:21
[SPEAKER_02]: are you psychotic?
34:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Like are you insane?
34:27
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that like seen her especially in season two and seeing all of that growth and development and really like going off onto her own.
34:37
[SPEAKER_02]: It was really exciting to see her make those moves.
34:40
[SPEAKER_02]: I remember really loving
34:42
[SPEAKER_02]: some of the more political episodes about the plan B episode.
34:47
[SPEAKER_02]: I really liked when she was trying to be well.
34:52
[SPEAKER_02]: No, actually I didn't like when she was going to be a, uh, a, uh, version of college.
34:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, she was trying to help be the student council president.
35:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she's been a part of the student president.
35:07
[SPEAKER_02]: She didn't really run a platform.
35:08
[SPEAKER_02]: She just got really competitive, but I felt like, um,
35:13
[SPEAKER_02]: I just really like turn season two and I think that we were on the same trajectory in season three, but I do think that there was definitely spots like how did we feel about velocity in season three?
35:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Season three, we were not super high on her.
35:33
[SPEAKER_03]: She only got one point the entire season of season three.
35:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it was not a good season.
35:39
[SPEAKER_03]: That was like the Avery season, which like also affected Felicity.
35:43
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like very annoying.
35:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, not a great.
35:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Felicity's best season is probably season two.
35:51
[SPEAKER_03]: because we had really learned to love her flaws and all by that point.
35:55
[SPEAKER_03]: But then when a character goes back to making the same mistakes they've always made, it just gets pretty old.
36:02
[SPEAKER_03]: We were really high on Julie in season two.
36:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Julie was like, I would not stop talking about Julie.
36:08
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I think that I think that I was not high on.
36:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, right.
36:12
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry because season two is when the Sean stuff happened.
36:14
[SPEAKER_03]: It was, I think it was season one.
36:16
[SPEAKER_03]: One, you liked jelly.
36:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
36:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
36:18
[SPEAKER_03]: You've been one.
36:19
[SPEAKER_02]: I really, really like Julie.
36:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I think season two we really liked Felicity.
36:22
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.
36:23
[SPEAKER_02]: I think Julie's so interesting because I really do think that she's one of those characters that like there was just times where I was like fuck like am I really watching like my life play out in real life and so bizarre.
36:38
[SPEAKER_02]: I remember
36:41
[SPEAKER_02]: learning the fact that she and I are born a day apart, but like by eight years, like she's March eighth, I'm March ninth.
36:50
[SPEAKER_02]: And just like kind of like some of the times like how she reacted, especially in the first season, I definitely saw a bit of me in her.
36:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was really interesting compelling how
37:02
[SPEAKER_02]: about her dad, her birth father, and the kidney donation.
37:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Once again, like it was very bizarre to watch that all play out in real life.
37:12
[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of wish that she actually wasn't a match because once again, like right, I would have found it more relatable.
37:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Then we wouldn't have had to be like, ooh, that kind of feels ikky or like,
37:26
[SPEAKER_02]: But also it was such like a big decision that like I don't totally blame her.
37:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
37:33
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that her departure was definitely missed.
37:38
[SPEAKER_02]: But we did get her in the last five episodes.
37:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I was happy to have her come back for sure.
37:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
37:43
[SPEAKER_02]: And for me, that was a surprise.
37:44
[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't expecting it.
37:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was really nice to see her again.
37:48
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was just thinking like along the same lines as Julie, right?
37:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Julie, we talked a lot in the earlier seasons about like the potential for a character assassination for our characters that we like, right?
37:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Because it tended to happen in Dawson's Creek where every season, it seemed like the writers would pick a character and be like, this is the season we will make you hate them.
38:08
[SPEAKER_03]: I really think it's interesting.
38:11
[SPEAKER_03]: In this show, it feels like by season three and four, they're like, we're gonna assassinate every single one.
38:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Right?
38:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, because I'm thinking, I'm not even like, we talked a lot about Felicity already.
38:20
[SPEAKER_03]: So like, let me set her aside for a second, but characters like Sean and Megan and Elena.
38:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, those characters who had heart, comedy,
38:30
[SPEAKER_03]: hobby air even I would list as well.
38:32
[SPEAKER_03]: The moment they tried to make hobby air into like this main character rather than this like fun side character who we only went to occasionally.
38:39
[SPEAKER_03]: It was like it fell apart.
38:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like they gave him ridiculous story lines that I didn't like and they would always like shove in another side character just to be like we don't know what we want to do with them.
38:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just pair them up with hobby air for a senior too.
38:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And
38:53
[SPEAKER_03]: It really just impacted the overall growth on those characters to the point where when they would put them on screen, it's like, well, now I don't care because you'd vein me either, not like them, like in the case of Sean, whereas we loved him in the beginning.
39:07
[SPEAKER_03]: We were like, oh my god, I can't wait to see what he invented next.
39:11
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like smoothies was the beginning of the end.
39:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Sean, these ruined everything for Sean, I really did.
39:18
[SPEAKER_03]: And like even characters like Richard right like he was fun in the earlier seasons like I didn't like him, but he provided comedy characters like guy right there were just different characters that would just pop in and then then they were gone and then we never saw them again and Megan I feel like Megan had such a strong personality and like
39:39
[SPEAKER_03]: strong convictions and obviously like a very specific look of which they changed in season four, which I, again, I wasn't super mad at, but I was happy to see her return to her.
39:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Gothway is by the end of the season with the time travel stuff.
39:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I just feel like they kind of lost the essence of a lot of these characters.
39:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And it made me sad because of how much I really enjoyed them in the beginning.
40:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I was so happy to watch Sean Megan Elena, any of those characters earlier on.
40:07
[SPEAKER_03]: And then it felt like
40:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we really want to focus on Felicity and what she has going on with Ben slash maybe sometimes no.
40:15
[SPEAKER_03]: So who really cares about these other characters?
40:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I totally agree with you.
40:21
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that like I think that's probably one of the more alarming things is that in the beginning in seasons one and two I was like yeah, like I really love all these characters except I mean like there was people that had like
40:34
[SPEAKER_02]: beef with, but I was like, I really like everybody.
40:36
[SPEAKER_02]: And then in season four, I was like, I don't like any of these bitches, like all of them suck.
40:43
[SPEAKER_02]: And then like the hobby, I think like the hobby or thing is like probably when the biggest loss is like, I really loved his character in season one in season two.
40:51
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought him popping in and out making his jokes was so funny.
40:55
[SPEAKER_02]: And him taking on like valuable time from Alena or
41:01
[SPEAKER_02]: or whichever it like it just was very frustrating.
41:06
[SPEAKER_02]: It's almost like if we're like, hey, let's make Mr. Heckles like a main character.
41:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it just didn't work like we loved Havier in the beginning.
41:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, like you know, have recipe like he had so many funny lines and like Benjamin right like he was
41:24
[SPEAKER_03]: especially if you have a grunge on you.
41:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I feel like the other thing we kind of lost, which, again, part of me thinks it's fine and the other part of me is like, well, there were kind of always people working at Dean and Deluca.
41:34
[SPEAKER_03]: So I wish we spend more time there.
41:36
[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like we kind of just abandoned that set at a certain point.
41:40
[SPEAKER_03]: And I feel like there's a lot we could have gotten that, you know, included more Dean and Deluca.
41:45
[SPEAKER_03]: We could have had a few more characters work there.
41:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Like freaking Sean, he could have used a job like twenty times throughout the seasons.
41:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
41:51
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean,
41:52
[SPEAKER_02]: It's funny because I do think like everybody worked at Dean and Deluca, at least for a day, maybe of not Elena and maybe not Megan.
42:00
[SPEAKER_03]: He asked Elena to like cover for him in season four when he went on an audition.
42:05
[SPEAKER_03]: So she worked at like one time.
42:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Then I think like nearly everybody worked at Dean and Deluca, because Sean definitely worked at Dean and Deluca one day, but which is funny.
42:14
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, they kind of abandoned that too.
42:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that sets is like important to like,
42:20
[SPEAKER_03]: the familiarity, right?
42:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the loft certainly is like the most verbal mainstay of the show and that it's always around.
42:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, dorms are going to change, right?
42:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the girls have their own apartment housing place at one point.
42:34
[SPEAKER_03]: No, has his own apartment at one point.
42:36
[SPEAKER_03]: She's feel like they never, they abandoned Dean and Deluca and we kind of needed that mainstay.
42:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I totally agree.
42:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I did think that I mean, I think that I, I don't know, I'm thinking about like who my favorite character is besides Megan and I really do think that I came around on Ben and I think like I really do
43:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Benny is to kind of learn from his own mistakes.
43:09
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that, you know, he probably still has more growing to do, but I mean, he became like a very like endearing character throughout the four seasons I felt.
43:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think Megan is definitely my top pick despite the fact that they don't give her kind of new stuff to do towards the end of the show, but Ben definitely has one of the more satisfying character growth arcs because we spend a lot of time in the beginning being like
43:39
[SPEAKER_03]: We have no idea what he's going to school for.
43:41
[SPEAKER_03]: We got business.
43:43
[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't really know.
43:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Then when he had a decent time hanging out with kids that one time were like, oh, maybe he'll do something, social worker, teacher, gym teacher, basketball coach, whatever.
43:55
[SPEAKER_03]: We had a lot of ideas on that.
43:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, we weren't expecting him to become a doctor, but overall, he has a very interesting character arc.
44:03
[SPEAKER_03]: And I almost wish Noel had something similar, because I feel like they
44:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I fell off with him at a certain point.
44:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's such a good point.
44:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Like what do we think like happen with no?
44:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Like because I don't know, no, it has been low key crazy since episode one.
44:24
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like he kind of settled down a little bit and season four, but then he just became like
44:31
[SPEAKER_02]: much less interesting than Ben in a way or like anybody else.
44:36
[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if part of it is because he graduated.
44:39
[SPEAKER_03]: And so they were like, we're going to focus on getting no a job like a career versus he's not up to the like, I have to graduate.
44:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I have to pass on my classes.
44:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I have to decide what I'm doing with my life, right?
44:49
[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't really have those crises anymore.
44:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And honestly, I missed the days when him and Elena were roommates because I really felt like they were really fun together.
44:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I do do.
45:00
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that they were like interesting like an interesting friendship because I think that
45:08
[SPEAKER_02]: the fact that Noel was able to open up to Elena and I feel like Elena opened up to Noah.
45:13
[SPEAKER_02]: She told him about the affair with the professor.
45:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because the only one who knew for a while.
45:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think like that was really good for both of them.
45:23
[SPEAKER_03]: On it by subway, Halloween costumes.
45:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
45:27
[SPEAKER_03]: They really are like a good pairing in terms of their pretty opposite, but they balance each other out very well.
45:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And you get the added benefit of even if no one philosophy are in together.
45:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they're going to end up seeing each other a lot because she's going to be she's going to be over there.
45:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it was a really good way.
45:44
[SPEAKER_03]: to have like to get there to be tension and drama and and also fun stuff, right?
45:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's the same apartment where Ben and Noel play video games together and then like beat the shit.
45:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god.
45:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was so much fun.
45:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And like I forgot what it was.
46:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Like maybe it was the lockdown that they were doing the same episode and they were like kept trying to call Ben and Noel, but they were just playing video games the whole time and they missed the whole thing.
46:12
[SPEAKER_02]: who is so funny.
46:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that I mean, I really did like, I like them together.
46:17
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that especially because like, I think those were the episodes that Alena was with Tracy a lot.
46:25
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that they
46:27
[SPEAKER_02]: kind of just like worked well together.
46:32
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't think I don't know if like the girls moving in together was like exact.
46:38
[SPEAKER_02]: I was hoping it was like the the the the theory like every single day and I don't think that we totally got that.
46:44
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I really liked when they did the girls night out, but then like we didn't
46:48
[SPEAKER_03]: It really felt like, oh, now that we have them living together, we don't have to do any work to have them maintain their friendships, which is unfortunate.
46:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think maybe let's, let's do this.
46:58
[SPEAKER_03]: I think we should pick our favorite friendship on the show and then maybe like our, like our, our missed potential friendship of like we wish we got more of these two characters together.
47:11
[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe we got a little bit but not enough or maybe they we originally had it and then it fell off.
47:16
[SPEAKER_03]: So do you want to go first?
47:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you want me to go first?
47:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think my favorite friendship is probably Megan and Felicity.
47:24
[SPEAKER_02]: I've said this a lot but I think that Megan is so interesting the fact that like she has such a hard exterior but once she chooses you as her person, your her person and the protective net protected
47:40
[SPEAKER_02]: miss of her towards Felicity and the loyalty and like the fact that she like yells at Ben all the time on the phone and just looks out for her.
47:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I think is like so it was so sweet to see that develop and I think like Felicity actually I think that Felicity was a shitty ass friend to make it the whole time but
48:03
[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think that like their dynamic evolves and I think it was like some of my favorite stuff that I saw yeah, I would I would pick them to because I really like a
48:19
[SPEAKER_03]: like not an enemy's to lovers right because they're not not a romantic pairing but like enemies to besties.
48:26
[SPEAKER_03]: I really like we obviously also saw that in Dawson's Creek.
48:28
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's really intriguing and oftentimes opposites make really good friends because you balance each other out very well.
48:36
[SPEAKER_03]: So I really enjoyed their friendship and I feel like that was one
48:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, they shouldn't maintain any of the friendships super duper well, but I feel like of all of the girl friendships.
48:48
[SPEAKER_03]: This one was probably the one they explored the most or spent the most time in evolving.
48:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Julie and Felicity were like one of those pairings early on and then it kind of like went into frenemies territory and then it was then Julie left.
49:02
[SPEAKER_03]: So then it was like whatever.
49:03
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it was that way, like the entire show.
49:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but it was interesting at least, you know, it was, it was, it was like, because then we have a debate of like, is Julia girl's girl, or is she like a backstabbers, felicity in the wrong, like we had like a lot of good discussions about that.
49:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
49:24
[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel as though.
49:26
[SPEAKER_02]: And then like it kind of came up again in last five episodes when Julie
49:31
[SPEAKER_02]: went to Felicity, asked her if it was okay.
49:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Felicity said yes, but still got mad.
49:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's, it was such a repeat, but it, I don't know if I was Julie, I really need to stay away from her.
49:45
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a thing about like those two that just they don't
49:50
[SPEAKER_03]: New York doesn't like Julie, you know, she just needs to stay out of it.
49:55
[SPEAKER_03]: She can't be in that city because that city hates her.
49:58
[SPEAKER_02]: It does hate her.
49:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
50:00
[SPEAKER_02]: And then like missed opportunities.
50:02
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I honestly just feel like we needed to utilize Elena more in every capacity.
50:08
[SPEAKER_02]: So like Elena with Felicity, Elena with no even Elena with Megan would have been nice.
50:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Elena and Megan would make really good friends.
50:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, truly, especially thinking about the girls' night out that they did, I feel like they're too no nonsense women who will just like tell it like it is.
50:26
[SPEAKER_03]: And I do think that would make them, I think they'd but heads at times.
50:30
[SPEAKER_03]: I think when Megan and Elena would get into a fight, it would be like an all-out like,
50:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like yelling at each other, not talking for a few days and then coming back together.
50:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Like that's what I foresee for them being friends.
50:43
[SPEAKER_03]: I really wish we got more of them together.
50:46
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I definitely think Elena and Felicity is my biggest one, mostly because they were really close.
50:52
[SPEAKER_03]: And then the show just was like, fuck Elena, we don't care about her anymore.
50:57
[SPEAKER_03]: And even when she died, we still don't care about her.
50:59
[SPEAKER_03]: So that is really unfortunate.
51:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm really, really sad about that one.
51:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, do you want to know who ended up winning the winning season four in terms of our points that we that we gave out?
51:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, what do you think it was?
51:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Who do I think it was Megan?
51:22
[SPEAKER_03]: No, Megan got three points overall.
51:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
51:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Tied with Ben, who also got three points.
51:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, who was a mommy?
51:30
[SPEAKER_03]: No, mommy did get a point though.
51:33
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was no.
51:34
[SPEAKER_03]: No one ended up with seven points in the final season.
51:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, see?
51:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I told you it was noles best season.
51:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess so.
51:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, well, I think my problem was that like,
51:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like there was, there was a lot of competition early on because like there was a lot of people we liked.
51:48
[SPEAKER_03]: So like maybe Noel was the best out of everybody in season four, but like everybody had a bad season.
51:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
51:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
51:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
51:56
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I really do.
51:56
[SPEAKER_02]: I think like Noel was like kind of just focused on himself.
51:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And I really like there was a lot of times where Noel was like,
52:04
[SPEAKER_02]: he had velocity, like give him a chance or give her a chance.
52:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Like he was, I think he was doing, doing, and he died in the fire.
52:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Rest in peace.
52:13
[SPEAKER_02]: That's probably one of the worst things to go on his life.
52:16
[SPEAKER_02]: In the fire?
52:16
[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
52:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think scuba diving accident off camera.
52:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like, it's worse if you're like suffocating or burning on fire.
52:26
[SPEAKER_03]: I think the drowning is worse.
52:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, Jess.
52:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think that they're both really bad.
52:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Both sound awful.
52:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
52:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
52:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah.
52:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, anything else.
52:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm kind of think of other other things we haven't really touched on.
52:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I just
52:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, overall I leave the show disappointed, but I agree with you.
52:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I tried to recall how I felt during seasons one and two and I did really enjoy seasons one and two.
52:56
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just unfortunate that I feel like we ended on more of a sour note with seasons three and four.
53:02
[SPEAKER_03]: When you have like fifty percent of the show that's like, eh, at best.
53:08
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a little tricky.
53:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I loved the time travel thing because it was so unhinged and ridiculous.
53:13
[SPEAKER_03]: So at least we had that, I suppose.
53:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's the thing.
53:16
[SPEAKER_02]: Like the best times in Felicity was when it was being unhinged and ridiculous.
53:21
[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
53:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's interesting.
53:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't know.
53:25
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that
53:27
[SPEAKER_02]: I think the show needed four seasons because it only makes sense.
53:31
[SPEAKER_02]: There's four years of college.
53:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it makes sense.
53:34
[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know who was on the right in team.
53:38
[SPEAKER_02]: What decisions they were making and season four?
53:40
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
53:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that they really, they like jump the shark really, but yeah, I think that like I am not leaving the show being like this was
53:52
[SPEAKER_02]: about experience.
53:54
[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that I and I'm genuine like I really am curious like to rewatch season one because I feel is that especially now that like I'm like in the groove and I know the mood of it and like you know season one there was a lot more like
54:12
[SPEAKER_02]: random characters popping in and out that like really added to the world and like the Selena Summit.
54:19
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think like that added to the charm of the show as well.
54:23
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that we did get that in season two also.
54:26
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that like I think a lot of the things that made the show really great.
54:32
[SPEAKER_02]: they like, they did less and less.
54:34
[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
54:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just like an ink printer, we were running out of ink history.
54:41
[SPEAKER_03]: You really wouldn't have felt like, you know, when like, because you worked at a grocery store, like, you know, when the, when the receipt thing is running out and has that pink spot.
54:49
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
54:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Only people who've ever worked in like food service or grocery store retail would understand this, but yeah, when the receipt starts to get to the end of the line, it gets like this pink line in it and then it goes gray and then you need to change it or else.
55:03
[SPEAKER_03]: like you're shooting blanks really.
55:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, but something else that this show gave us that brought us so much joy was feedback for we got feedback every single week without fail from all of you listeners and we will all be obviously like
55:20
[SPEAKER_03]: There were dedicated people who sent us in feedback all the time.
55:23
[SPEAKER_03]: And we appreciate that.
55:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Like two, no end.
55:26
[SPEAKER_03]: It is always lovely to look at our email inbox and see a voicemail or email or a message like from anybody with thoughts on the podcast, thoughts on the show.
55:36
[SPEAKER_03]: It really enhances our enjoyment of like the show and podcasting about it.
55:41
[SPEAKER_03]: So shout out to literally anyone who's ever sent in at least one message.
55:46
[SPEAKER_03]: And we do have a couple of messages from from some listeners as well.
55:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Today, we got an email from Trent, who says Dear Sally, whoops, I mean Sarah and Jess.
55:58
[SPEAKER_03]: But the Felicity coverage coming to an end, I thought I would stop by and thank you both of you for the great last few years.
56:04
[SPEAKER_03]: What the podcast gives is truly amazing.
56:07
[SPEAKER_03]: You have a near a thirty year old television show, God that makes me feel that I could have been in a couple weeks and you gave me multiple years of entertainment.
56:15
[SPEAKER_03]: It's truly a gift.
56:16
[SPEAKER_03]: No matter how things are going, I always look forward to watching an episode of television, and then I get to listen to an hour of fun, lighted, hearted podcast.
56:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Unfortunately, I can't thank all of your weekly contributors that you have, but they add so much to the podcast as well.
56:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I've been a loyal listener since the beginning of the Dawson's Creek coverage.
56:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Haven't missed one week.
56:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't understate how great it is to spend a couple of hours with the podcast each and every week.
56:40
[SPEAKER_03]: The Buffy coverage has been a blast to.
56:43
[SPEAKER_03]: So from this Creek Creek and Scooby and
56:45
[SPEAKER_03]: And what ever the fullest speaker is called, thank you.
56:48
[SPEAKER_03]: What is the fullest speaker called?
56:49
[SPEAKER_03]: How do we need to have her name then?
56:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
56:52
[SPEAKER_03]: The stalkers.
56:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
56:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're crying on YouTube, babe.
56:56
[SPEAKER_03]: I was really lovely, Trent.
56:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
57:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe we never named the fullest city crew.
57:04
[SPEAKER_03]: How do we let that happen?
57:05
[SPEAKER_03]: I have.
57:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I just think that we probably did that all the time.
57:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, that's so bad, you know.
57:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much, Trent, and I'm really happy to hear that you're listening to the Buffy coverage too, because we don't talk about this much there, but there is this like guilty feeling of like finishing a show and then being like, but what will the listener listen to this?
57:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Like this almost like this guilt where it's like, I hope they find, I hope they like Buffy or I hope they find something else that they can listen to because I know I love podcasts and I love to like, there's not a silent moment in my house.
57:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Like if I'm, you know, I'm listening to a podcast, no matter what I'm doing.
57:45
[SPEAKER_03]: So we hope that it not just trend, but like anybody out there loves Buffy or finds enjoyment elsewhere goes back to our archives, whatever, to kind of get through your day sometimes.
57:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
58:00
[SPEAKER_03]: We also got an email from Jamie.
58:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see.
58:04
[SPEAKER_03]: So let me start if I warning you ladies to expect several emails for me.
58:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I have a lot of thoughts, but on the bright side, it is the end.
58:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me start off by saying that while I agree, season four wasn't great.
58:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I do think it started off pretty decent.
58:17
[SPEAKER_03]: up until episode eight, which was the Thanksgiving episode, and it went downhill from there.
58:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I will say I prefer season four over season three, because at the very least, they were telling stories about the characters.
58:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I care about, unlike season three, which had too much focus on the guest characters, Molly, James Avery, who I gave zero bucks about.
58:37
[SPEAKER_03]: True.
58:37
[SPEAKER_03]: I had to rank the seasons.
58:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I would say season one, closely followed by season two, and then four and three is the worst for me.
58:46
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to, oh, I love this, Jamie.
58:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to share with you some thoughts on how I think season four could have been better.
58:52
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Felicity sleeping with Null should have really shaken things up and had more long-term effects instead of having everyone find by mid-season.
58:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
58:59
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that was annoying.
59:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Like they, like this horrible thing happened and then they jumped back into a relationship right away.
59:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Like nothing seemed to kill Ben and Felicity.
59:09
[SPEAKER_02]: There were no long-term effects.
59:12
[SPEAKER_03]: I think Felicity should have been more pissed at Null for telling Ben after he promised her they could just forget it.
59:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I also think it was a mistake to reconcile Ben and Felicity so soon.
59:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I liked the twist in Thanksgiving episode where Ben and Felicity sleep together and we think they might get back together and then Ben back tracks.
59:27
[SPEAKER_03]: But that should have been it.
59:28
[SPEAKER_03]: He was so wishy while she after that.
59:31
[SPEAKER_03]: What we should have seen was some real distance between Felicity and Ben as well as Felicity and Null.
59:35
[SPEAKER_03]: When you think about it throughout all four seasons, Felicity always had one of them by her side, even as just a friend, but one was always there.
59:42
[SPEAKER_03]: It would have been interesting to see Felicity without either of the boys and really working through her bad pattern of always going back and forth between them and becoming a stronger, more independent character.
59:52
[SPEAKER_03]: The reconciliation with Ben should have come toward the end of the season and should have been a very slow build.
59:58
[SPEAKER_03]: It should have started with them rebuilding their friendship kind of like in season one after they got robbed.
1:00:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, I forgot they got robbed.
1:00:04
[SPEAKER_03]: uh, and Ben was showing up at Felicity's every night to talk.
1:00:07
[SPEAKER_03]: That is when they first bonded and Ben shared with her his father's drinking and abuse.
1:00:11
[SPEAKER_03]: They could have done something similar in this season.
1:00:13
[SPEAKER_03]: They could have saved Ben's father's illness for the second half of the season with Ben slowly turning to Felicity for support and slowly rebuilding trust and friendship.
1:00:20
[SPEAKER_03]: I think the original finale with him showing up in Palo Alto and saying it was my turn would have been more powerful
1:00:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Had they not been together the majority of the season, the Lauren pregnancy also should have never happened, but I think the show agrees with considering it was never mentioned and the time travel episodes that Ben was a father.
1:00:37
[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think about Jamie's changes, Sarah?
1:00:39
[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
1:00:39
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that Jamie did a great job.
1:00:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly agree with every single thing that Jamie said.
1:00:45
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that having been in Felicity barely say a part is their biggest flaw in season four.
1:00:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Not even the time travel, truly.
1:00:53
[SPEAKER_03]: Like the biggest flaws, the fact that they never gave these characters a break from one another.
1:00:56
[SPEAKER_03]: And it was just very frustrating when it's like, oh, thank God, they're going to break up.
1:00:59
[SPEAKER_03]: And then next episode, they're back together.
1:01:01
[SPEAKER_03]: What are we against for?
1:01:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
1:01:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:01:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
1:01:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Now to answer some of DBK's questions, yes, and a lot of blast podcasts.
1:01:09
[SPEAKER_03]: In regards to Felicity becoming a doctor, I hated the decision to have her become a doctor because it meant her father was going to get what he wants.
1:01:15
[SPEAKER_03]: He was such a controlling asshole for not wanting to pay for his only child's education because she wasn't pursuing the career he wanted for her.
1:01:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care if she didn't become an artist.
1:01:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I just wish she had found a career path that was her own.
1:01:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Second, I believe was the thought on Meghan and Sean as a couple.
1:01:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I liked them at first, but all the fighting got old, especially because most of them were so stupid.
1:01:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I also thought the relationship limited what they could do with Meghan, who was by far the most interesting character.
1:01:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I liked how they used Sean in season's one and two was comic relief with all of his inventions, but he and Javier should not have been mean characters.
1:01:48
[SPEAKER_03]: The show needed more college age men as a part of the main cast, other than just Ben and Nolan.
1:01:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's such a good point that I also kind of forgot that like, Havier and Sean are older.
1:02:01
[SPEAKER_02]: They're both over twenty seven.
1:02:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
1:02:04
[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like once again, that just like aids to the fact that this wasn't really a college show.
1:02:10
[SPEAKER_02]: I always felt that Elena acted a lot older than she actually was as well.
1:02:15
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they literally initially made her wear like the most like stuffy-esque clothing in the galaxy.
1:02:23
[SPEAKER_02]: So I think like that hindered it and like a lot of like the silly collegeness of it.
1:02:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:02:33
[SPEAKER_03]: And then about the Dear Sally device, I personally didn't mind it as I saw.
1:02:38
[SPEAKER_03]: I just thought it was a way to narrate the episode and get more insight into her thoughts.
1:02:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Finally, I believe you asked about minor characters.
1:02:44
[SPEAKER_03]: We'd have a like to see more of, I would say, Lynn, who has been a swim team friend.
1:02:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Dr. Pavone, especially in season four, I would have like to see Felicity utilize Dr. Pavone to work for all the bed and all stuff, and I'm finding a career path that was right for her.
1:03:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I remember coming around online a lot.
1:03:03
[SPEAKER_03]: I did not like him at first, but I eventually had to come around at him.
1:03:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I want to end things by thinking new ladies and saying, I will miss having you as a part of my Monday's.
1:03:14
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't listen to the Buffy podcast as I don't like the show.
1:03:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I tried, but it couldn't get into it.
1:03:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully in the future, you will cover more shows and movies.
1:03:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I follow you on Instagram, so please keep us updated on future projects.
1:03:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Enjoy the rest of your summer.
1:03:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Jamie and Jamie did send us also in like her top ten episodes.
1:03:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, which I thought was really interesting.
1:03:36
[SPEAKER_03]: She had the pilot, uh, boggled, which is the Nolan Flisty kiss and buckle.
1:03:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
1:03:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I will say I do think the pilot of Felicity is probably one the best pilots that I've ever seen for a show.
1:03:46
[SPEAKER_03]: It's really gripping.
1:03:47
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, it's really captivating.
1:03:49
[SPEAKER_03]: It definitely makes you want to watch more.
1:03:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:03:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Thanksgiving, which we've recommended.
1:03:53
[SPEAKER_03]: We've talked about already.
1:03:54
[SPEAKER_03]: The fugue, which is where Hannah returns, and Felicity loses her virginity.
1:03:59
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm freaking fugue.
1:04:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Felicity was here, which is the season one finale, where she has to make the choice between Berlin with Noel and the road to prevent.
1:04:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Should have probably went to Berlin, but whatever.
1:04:12
[SPEAKER_03]: the list.
1:04:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, this one's great.
1:04:14
[SPEAKER_03]: The one where Felicity wears that red dress and breaks up with Ben.
1:04:18
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, that was great.
1:04:19
[SPEAKER_03]: She looked that was her best look by far of any of the looks she had throughout the whole show.
1:04:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes.
1:04:22
[SPEAKER_03]: So hot because there was like a low back.
1:04:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, I can she still have the long hair was big and she went up on the roof and the guy was pretty hot.
1:04:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Pretty hot.
1:04:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:04:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Great expectations were Ben and Felicity break into the pool.
1:04:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And Ben was here.
1:04:36
[SPEAKER_03]: That is where Ben goes after Felicity and Greg when they're like in the snowing mountains upstate or something.
1:04:43
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's only also getting Megan's Sarah McLaughlin speech to Ben, which is very fun.
1:04:48
[SPEAKER_03]: The Auretha Theory, which is the one with the ladies night and bends iconic time machine speech, and then the final answer, which is the one where Felicity misses her art history final, because she was making out with Ben, and interesting to note from Janey that all of her top ten are in seasons one and two.
1:05:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Which, I mean, like that tracks, that tracks.
1:05:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
1:05:10
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I mean, truly highs and lows with Felicity.
1:05:15
[SPEAKER_03]: I've still enjoyed podcasting about it.
1:05:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I've enjoyed showing up every week and podcasting about the show.
1:05:20
[SPEAKER_03]: It really is fun and hopefully like Jamie was saying, maybe if you're not a fan of Buffy, we may continue some bonus content in the future.
1:05:28
[SPEAKER_03]: So follow us on social media at Shirt Nighty's pod just to also prepare me again.
1:05:33
[SPEAKER_03]: It's my bad.
1:05:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
1:05:36
[SPEAKER_03]: but if you want to stay up to date on what we have going on that is the way to do so and of course subscribing to the podcast feed so you see whatever we're putting out into the ether um any final thoughts Sarah on a full city as a whole or anything else I just I really appreciate everybody who listens I it it really
1:05:58
[SPEAKER_02]: It really affects me to know that Jess and I make a difference in anybody's day or week and it really touches me.
1:06:09
[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, in terms of Felicity, I think that I
1:06:16
[SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm going to miss a lot of aspects of the show.
1:06:19
[SPEAKER_02]: And I, I don't know.
1:06:23
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I'm curious about if there's any interviews afterwards, like I didn't totally dig into that.
1:06:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I know they did a reunion.
1:06:32
[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe.
1:06:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe in a little bit we could like watch the reunion and like talk about that because I know that we did the same for the Dawson's Creek reunion.
1:06:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I feel as though like hearing from the cast years like many years removed from it could be really interesting and especially if we're a little bit removed from it as well
1:06:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I'm like definitely interested in seeing some like interviews.
1:07:02
[SPEAKER_02]: I know that there is like a fullicity podcast.
1:07:06
[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of just want to like hear some more like behind the scenes type of things that I've tried to avoid for the last two years because like we can't really Google.
1:07:16
[SPEAKER_02]: And if we do, then everybody knows that I spoil myself and then they're like, why are you in the spoilers?
1:07:22
[SPEAKER_02]: And then like I'm sorry.
1:07:23
[SPEAKER_02]: So have you any last thoughts?
1:07:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, just thank you to everyone who's listened.
1:07:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Really, it is, it is lovely to know.
1:07:34
[SPEAKER_03]: We started this as like, we're friends.
1:07:36
[SPEAKER_03]: We want to chat about nineties TV.
1:07:39
[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, taking on a new show is a feat where nineties television has a lot of episodes.
1:07:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's a big undertaking.
1:07:49
[SPEAKER_03]: And it's really lovely to have people along for the ride and to have such
1:07:54
[SPEAKER_03]: dedicated listeners is really a privilege.
1:07:58
[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you if you listened.
1:08:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you again if you sent in feedback.
1:08:02
[SPEAKER_03]: We hope that you will continue listening to everything else we have going on and it's possible.
1:08:06
[SPEAKER_03]: We will come back at some point with some Felicity stuff whether we watch a reunion or come back with like a top ten or a bottom five or both.
1:08:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Never say never.
1:08:16
[SPEAKER_03]: We may be back with some more stuff in the future.
1:08:19
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I think
1:08:20
[SPEAKER_03]: think that's it.
1:08:21
[SPEAKER_03]: So keep an eye on our podcast feed.
1:08:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't lose our number.
1:08:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, if you want to check in at any point, just email us and say hi, you also can do that.
1:08:29
[SPEAKER_03]: We would love it.
1:08:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but I think that's all we have.
1:08:32
[SPEAKER_03]: So don't forget, shit nanny's pod.com, shit nanny shows taught me in all of your podcast apps.
1:08:37
[SPEAKER_03]: And, uh, yeah, I guess this is by for now.
1:08:40
[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk to you next time.
