- 0:08The athletic. I wish I was smart enough to
- 0:40figure it out. One day, welcome back everyone.
- 0:45Obviously the tiles look a little bit different tonight.
- 0:49For the first time in three years, travel has actually
- 0:53caught up with us and so I don't know how it took us.
- 0:57This long honestly among its the travels that we've had a monk in
- 1:00the last two years. Like So it's surprising that.
- 1:02It took this long, so we will continue the show with a lesser
- 1:06amount of tiles. But nonetheless, bring all the
- 1:10BAM, all the boom, all the BAM, all the Pam with it.
- 1:14So quiet, man, how we doing, sir?
- 1:19Well, I'm here. So clearly I'm doing awesome at
- 1:24least better than some of our colleagues who, you know, We
- 1:29feeling for you but you know we can hold this down in our
- 1:36classic classic ways. I get more time to be a little
- 1:41bit more Petty so it's a win, it's a win for everybody.
- 1:47Really is ultimately what it is Jesus.
- 1:55Is that us? Is that us?
- 1:57Is it Russa? Like, what are we doing?
- 2:00You just asked in late. I'm just okay.
- 2:03Go ahead and how are you tonight?
- 2:05Sir us is doing fine. It's kind of like a new pronoun.
- 2:12No, no. Do we need any more?
- 2:14It was a it was a I thought it was a good title for the first
- 2:19day of black history month because it's really about us and
- 2:23I figured I'd try it. I don't know.
- 2:26We'll see how it works. But I'm doing good.
- 2:32I'm doing good. Okay, criminy, criminy.
- 2:41All right. Well, jumping into the topics
- 2:44today. Let's start off with the one
- 2:47that hurts my heart. The most thanks for making.
- 2:49It just turn the knife a little bit more in our upcoming
- 2:53Championship. That we have into weekends or
- 2:55two Saturdays, we have the Super Bowl championship.
- 3:00The Niners will not be in it, so I somewhat don't care anymore.
- 3:03Or but to celebrate the month that we have just turned over
- 3:08today. February is being recognized,
- 3:11that we have two African, American African American
- 3:14quarterbacks playing against each other and I think it's for
- 3:17the first time ever. Question.
- 3:19Mark first time ever. So you know, how does that
- 3:23strike the air for you guys? You know what?
- 3:27I'll even go first because I Actually want to be paying
- 3:32attention. When Clyde talks on this one,
- 3:37I'll say this. I think it's amazing.
- 3:40I think it was obviously inevitable at some point.
- 3:45But I am very much looking forward to the day that it's not
- 3:49a story. Because it is story, right?
- 3:55It's the first time which is mind-boggling, but it's the
- 3:59first time that both quarterbacks in the Super Bowl
- 4:03starting quarterbacks in the Super Bowl.
- 4:08Are of African American descent. Obviously Basham homes is of
- 4:12biracial, descent. So I will not be disrespectful
- 4:14in that regard. But as Clyde would say he's a
- 4:18mixed baby, so we put him in his right box, but I think it's
- 4:25cool. And it's not cool cause they're
- 4:30black is cool cuz of who they are.
- 4:36Patrick Mahomes was wildly talented and as usual with
- 4:44wildly, talented people along the way.
- 4:47Not everybody knew exactly what to do with him.
- 4:49But luckily for him he got drafted by the Chiefs and the
- 4:53Andy Reid knew exactly what to do with them and has built an
- 4:57offense that allows him to grow as a quarterback grow as a
- 5:02person and be him. And let me tell you, That's
- 5:06amazing. Because had he been drafted by,
- 5:09I don't know any number of probably 15 teams.
- 5:12He was still be Patrick Mahomes. There Will Be Still Moments of
- 5:15greatness for sure. That also be some other
- 5:18Shenanigans, which is, which would suck and listen.
- 5:24I am a Giants fan which means I was born and bred to hate the
- 5:28Eagles but I must say it like this if you If you can't rock
- 5:35with Jalen hurts. Regardless of whether you're
- 5:40black, white green or purple. Like why are you breathing?
- 5:46Because this cat is one of the greatest stories.
- 5:50That's not really being told right now in sports, right?
- 5:53Like Dad was coaching high school.
- 5:58Went to Bama. Started did a great job.
- 6:02Got the ultimate disrespect, pulled it half-time for the
- 6:06Freshman to freshman balls out lose his job.
- 6:09Losses in spot leaves, Alabama goes Oklahoma, rebuilds himself,
- 6:14just incredible job there only to be disrespected through the
- 6:18draft have people talking about whether you should be a running
- 6:21back. Tight in right.
- 6:24Goes to goes to the Eagles. The Eagles fan base is like why
- 6:28did we take a quarterback? And he's not really a
- 6:31quarterback and balls out well enough to first two years that
- 6:35if he's anybody else? Like he gets the starting job
- 6:37and we're not and we're trying to figure out extensions but
- 6:40instead it's like this is your proof that year as to whether
- 6:44we're really going to keep you as the dude or whether we're
- 6:46going to go draft a quarterback next year and all he does is
- 6:50respond with an MVP level performance.
- 6:52Prince of the Season, they're 16 and one with him as a starting
- 6:56quarterback this year. So I think it's cool.
- 7:03Obviously, I am rooting for Patrick Mahomes for a lot of
- 7:05reasons but I'm not gonna lie in this one because I don't have a
- 7:09specific dog in the fight so to speak.
- 7:11Like bro, I'm cool. Whoever whichever one of these
- 7:15quarterbacks is Victorious like it's a great story either way.
- 7:20just just from a fact standpoint like I'm rooting for my home's,
- 7:23but honestly I will be zero percent mad if Jailer hurts gets
- 7:28his first one, so, well said I witnessed a A different slant to
- 7:39this particular point. On one of the shows, it may even
- 7:44have been PTI. And I think I agreed actually,
- 7:51it was PT on it, you know, Michael wilbon says, something
- 7:53that I thoroughly agree with, they were debating which of
- 7:58these two quarterbacks Has more to gain.
- 8:04By winning. Hmm, that's an interesting.
- 8:07You know what? Right?
- 8:09That's why I love that show because they ask interesting
- 8:12questions. Yeah, for sure.
- 8:14And and and we'll bonds point was getting one.
- 8:20Is the thing. Yeah, like sure there's this
- 8:25whole Legacy and blah blah blah with with my home's but damn
- 8:30Reno doesn't have one. I mean these are facts, right?
- 8:36So the idea that jam hurts could emerge from this as a Super Bowl
- 8:40champion. Given the context and his
- 8:43background and everything you had to go through, is actually
- 8:46really dope. The Super Bowl.
- 8:52You pick your timeline for me, it's about 15 years.
- 8:56Has always been has more recently, been more about the
- 9:00story lines than the game. Often sometimes the games don't
- 9:06live up to you know the height or the story lines or whatever.
- 9:09And so this one as Lamar has said it, it's cool to see and I
- 9:17100% agree. With the idea that it shouldn't
- 9:20be a big deal, but let's face it.
- 9:22It is I to yearn for the day where it's not but it is a
- 9:28moment in time that we all should recognize and take a
- 9:32second to celebrate and appreciate, you know what?
- 9:35You're the struggle that led to this being a big deal, this
- 9:41Super Bowl for me, you know, it's the Andy Reid Bowl to
- 9:43don't, don't miss that one is definitely the Andy Reid.
- 9:49And because I usually Champion The Underdogs.
- 9:58There's no way I'm not rooting for Jalen Harrison the Eagles in
- 10:00this game. Patrick Mahomes is currently the
- 10:05best quarterback in the league. and I think this year, He went
- 10:12out of his way to make to prove, that it's really not that close,
- 10:16but Patrick Mahomes, as I have always said, and for the first
- 10:20time heard, Lamar agree with me without me saying it.
- 10:24He's, he brought it up on his own magic.
- 10:26Mahomes is also a huge product of the luck of the draw where he
- 10:32landed Patrick Mahomes, is not who he is without Andy Reid,
- 10:38leading his career, and developing him as a player.
- 10:41Are okay, let's say that once - he's not this version that still
- 10:46has the talent is the talent, but all you need to understand
- 10:51the drop-off of a talent, like Josh Allen missing Brian table
- 10:58and the elevation boy, or just coaching matter, the elevation
- 11:02of Daniels, there's a market for Daniel Jones now because of
- 11:06Brian De Vil. Yep, that's coaching matter.
- 11:11Ur So Much and Patrick Mahomes. Is amazing.
- 11:17Because he is lucky enough to be surrounded by the best
- 11:20offensive, mind in the game and has been that for a long time.
- 11:24So timeout, right there. Yes.
- 11:26Imagine if the 49ers who always get a pass in this conversation,
- 11:31do they show imagine if the 49ers have taken him like every,
- 11:37but look, everybody blows the Bears apart, right?
- 11:39Because they dread up to take your Biscay, but nobody ever
- 11:43gives the Niners. what they deserve which is ready to go to
- 11:48Victory, all of you got this offensive genius and you don't
- 11:53take He's a generational Talent. Yes.
- 11:58So just imagine, look as good as he is with Andy Reid.
- 12:01And listen, listen. He's special.
- 12:06But can you imagine if the 49ers had had patio homes the last
- 12:11five years? Hey, I hear you because at least
- 12:15two more titles because Shanahan is Shanahan is excellent.
- 12:21I don't think he's as good as Andy Reid, but he's excellent,
- 12:24but they would never have been as much pressure on Patrick
- 12:26Mahomes, right? No, no, please other pieces for
- 12:29sure. But so for me, Patrick Mahomes
- 12:35is the anointed. I mean, it's already started.
- 12:38It's been started. But now it's like the train is
- 12:41moving really fast. Now if he wins this game is the
- 12:45goat Converse, like stop it. It's not with this.
- 12:50Well I saw some interesting things on that today.
- 12:51Now imma let you finish talking to them.
- 12:53I want to jump back in here. No I hear you but stop with the
- 12:59disrespect. It's not disrespect.
- 13:02It's totally disrespect, it's totally.
- 13:04It is total. She's pays TV total disrespect.
- 13:09Jalen Hertz is the ultimate David in this David versus
- 13:14Goliath situation. Like at the beginning of the
- 13:19year, there were a handful of people like, you know, the
- 13:22Eagles rosters actually pretty good, but no one said Jalen
- 13:26hurts is gonna duel Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
- 13:29Oh, yeah. Because the roster was really
- 13:30good. But the question was about the
- 13:32quarterback. Exactly.
- 13:34And so for Jaylyn hurts to play the way, he's played Jaden It is
- 13:39a grinder. Jalen hurd's is you know, one of
- 13:43the things people hear me, say all the time is constantly live,
- 13:46your State, live, your life, in a state of evolution.
- 13:49That is Jalen hurts. All that man has ever done at
- 13:53every level is overcome the low expectations that were placed in
- 13:59front of him, which is so wild, right?
- 14:02It is somewhat about somebody who was the starting quarterback
- 14:05at Alabama having like low. Big titties and, and if I
- 14:10remember correctly, I'm pretty sure he won the National
- 14:14Championship. The year before he was replaced
- 14:16in the national championship. What's not?
- 14:19Yes. So, so that's how little people
- 14:21have thought of his skill set to play that position and I'm not
- 14:25gonna lie. I was one of those people, like,
- 14:30I'm like, jail hurts is a great dude.
- 14:32He's a leader no doubt, but you could find a better cue be like.
- 14:37That was my brain. No, Siri on E, planned offense
- 14:43around him and it works and it's Unique and they are in the show
- 14:49and I am totally rooting for that team to, you know, succeed
- 14:55and and continue with the dynasty of one, that is the
- 15:01Kansas City Chiefs. So I'm here for it.
- 15:06I don't care about either one of these teams per I say but I
- 15:09definitely have a rooting interest which is I am always
- 15:14Pro Underdog and I am always anti hype and I can't stomach
- 15:21the years of hype. Then I'm going to have to listen
- 15:24to if Patrick Mahomes somehow wins this game.
- 15:29See, okay. Big league.
- 15:33Would you like to jump in or can I throw in like a couple of
- 15:35anecdotes real fast? Well real quick, a couple of
- 15:38things different points same topic.
- 15:41So yes, rishta elevating that this is a milestone right within
- 15:45this board itself and for the athletes I think that part of
- 15:50the reason why this is something that's call it brought to the
- 15:59front page is Quarterbacks aren't supposed to look like
- 16:03them. When you look your high school
- 16:06teams and whatnot, they gotta look.
- 16:09And they don't necessarily look like them.
- 16:11So they these are two who broke the mold for say.
- 16:17Okay, they're not your Tall white kids who have the
- 16:22financial background to go to the Quarterback Camps to play
- 16:25baseball, who have the arms, and things of that nature.
- 16:27Like they have definitely quote about athletic backgrounds, not
- 16:31doing a part to their dads are, but because of just their
- 16:33upbringing. So I think that's something that
- 16:36why we may not have seen this before.
- 16:39Thinking about, what you all had said, leading into this and kind
- 16:42of steering the conversation after the games last weekend.
- 16:47To go to the 49er statement. We don't like to lay stock in
- 16:52newbies like how hesitant was everybody on her on our wagon
- 16:58for Brock purdy-like? We like a little bit of depth,
- 17:00maybe it's not playing time, but Jimmy G, we had a great protégé.
- 17:04Not Protege. What's the word Mentor?
- 17:05Sorry, wrong word, and so in doing that even though he didn't
- 17:10get a whole bunch of PT already, He was in space and he was quote
- 17:16unquote digesting that stuff. So my home's coming out.
- 17:21What to what that's very sweet and it is merely we we
- 17:27understand but you you're forgetting that they gave up a
- 17:32lot to invest in trade lash. Ray Lance, they sold the entire
- 17:39form and the next door neighbor's cows.
- 17:42Did you get the right to take Trail Ends?
- 17:45But what did you could've just straight-up?
- 17:47Drafted the guy that's better. Now it wasn't the same class.
- 17:53Look that's knowing right. They say he was supposed to
- 17:56develop myself, but I ain't that guy.
- 18:12So there's some slander out there that they need and
- 18:15conditioning coach. I don't think that's the answer.
- 18:19I don't think it's completely like some of these injuries that
- 18:22happened weren't due in part to their bodies, not being
- 18:24prepared. It's football.
- 18:26There are a lot of things that like this.
- 18:29I don't have a torn UCL because you didn't train your forearm
- 18:32and doing dumbbell. Go dumbbell curls with your
- 18:34wrist and whatnot. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 18:37like think about like the 49ers had Their first quarterback go
- 18:42out with the broken. Ankle?
- 18:47Yeah. So is down in the bottom so just
- 18:49tibia tibia fibula and then they had another quarterback.
- 18:53Go out with a broken leg. It's not right?
- 19:00And that was Jimmy G. We're going out with Jimmy James
- 19:01had everything broken. So I think he's got a broken
- 19:04something cuz that's why he's gonna be.
- 19:05He would be back in theory for the Super Bowl, right?
- 19:08I'll maybe he's the tib-fib and then it and no, no, because it
- 19:13was Trey Lance's ankle is still out on the field.
- 19:16So he was the tib-fib and then you have your third string
- 19:21quarterback, who has to have Tommy John?
- 19:26Well, I come on. Your fourth has been there for
- 19:29their first. One is out with a concussion but
- 19:31the fact that okay the fact that one team lost a quarter back to
- 19:36her broken, something another quarterback to a broken.
- 19:38Something and the third quarter back to to UCL injury is wild
- 19:44for Wayne. It's football is bad timing.
- 19:47It is what it is. But like literally in the
- 19:49history of football has never happened.
- 19:50No no. I totally understand its what?
- 19:54So that's all. saying is there's no reason that the quarterback
- 19:59position shouldn't be as diverse as any other position when it
- 20:01comes to talent. And by diverse, I don't
- 20:04necessarily mean skin color even though that's a part of it, but
- 20:09Russell Wilson plays the game differently than Patrick and
- 20:14Holmes, who plays the game differently?
- 20:16Totally differently than Lamar Jackson who plays the game
- 20:18totally differently than DeShaun Watson who plays the game
- 20:22totally differently than Jalen hurts.
- 20:24Right? The so it's funny that you say
- 20:27that because I feel like Russell Wilson DeShaun Watson and
- 20:29Patrick, my home is play the game the same way.
- 20:31Just not at the same levels. Oh no, I was because all three
- 20:35of those guys are with that off me.
- 20:37Those guys are Escape ability, guys.
- 20:39They Have some athleticism but they're not their first second.
- 20:43Third read before we run guys. Like, I mean those three guys
- 20:47go. I mean, I get that but like,
- 20:50Patrick Mahomes is arm Talent is a one but that's roughly.
- 20:56I think the three of those guys play the game the same way what
- 20:58their physical skills come out. Meaning if I was going to put
- 21:04them in categories, I put those three guys in the same type of
- 21:07guy but that comes out differently because Patrick
- 21:09homes More arm Talent, DeShaun Watson has more leg Talent,
- 21:13right? And Russell Wilson is that
- 21:15strange blend of the two? Well, the well, I don't want to
- 21:19go too far down that rabbit hole.
- 21:20Yeah, I would still disagree, but here's the thing.
- 21:24My, my point is this that this that that's one of the, if not,
- 21:29the basketball is gone through this Evolution.
- 21:33Now, right, where everybody's basically position - they're
- 21:35different sizes and different weights but its position was
- 21:38basketball in the NBA now, right?
- 21:39Right. Quarterback has been like very
- 21:44strategically defined 64 stand in the pocket, throw the ball.
- 21:50You got to beat all because of this.
- 21:52You got to have this type of arm blah blah blah blah blah, right.
- 21:56And even someone like Josh Allen or Justin Herbert, I have
- 22:01brought a diversity of skills to this position that you wouldn't
- 22:06want to see. Even 10 years ago.
- 22:08People did. They would reject it.
- 22:11Right. So as that position is viewed
- 22:16more diversely from skill and everything else.
- 22:20All you're going to see is more and more African American kids
- 22:24pursuing what they couldn't actually really see themselves
- 22:29pursuing 20 years ago. Like that was a risk 20 years
- 22:33ago. Now it's probably an advantage
- 22:36to be like, you know what? Actually I want to be the
- 22:38quarterback. And yes, I'm going to use my
- 22:39athleticism. Yes, I'm going to use my legs
- 22:42and if I can do all that and have the discipline to stand in
- 22:45the pocket and throw the way you need to throw, well then I'm the
- 22:49a one guy, right? So I'm here for all of that and
- 22:54of course you land in a Super Bowl.
- 22:58With these two guys who play the position totally differently
- 23:03facing off against each other. And and you know, if you're a
- 23:06fan of the game of football, that that's where the matchups
- 23:09and everything, get Really, really interesting, right?
- 23:12So Like I said don't really care about you.
- 23:15The team's I got most of my wishes it's football season but
- 23:21any year that I get my main wish I'm always happy Cowboys out
- 23:25early. That's how I'm good.
- 23:28I'm good. So oh my gosh.
- 23:31So fun fact, fun fact and it hope hopefully it goes this way.
- 23:39Miss Madison has been invited to a women in sport type.
- 23:44Speaking engagement in Phoenix Super Bowl weekend.
- 23:48During that time, she gets a ticket.
- 23:51I'm trying to manipulate a way to get two tickets so I can go
- 23:57That that is that is where I'm at with this.
- 24:00So I might give you all of it work from Phoenix if things work
- 24:04in my favor. Now listen, I've been to most
- 24:09sporting events, haven't been to a Super Bowl yet.
- 24:12For the very reason you're talking about tickets are
- 24:14usually impossible but so if you get a ticket You got?
- 24:19Yes. Yes, you know, I'm yes.
- 24:22So yes, you know what's? You know, what's ridiculous?
- 24:25Absolutely, ridiculous. The brave hotels during know,
- 24:30all that would be pay for. I ain't worried about that.
- 24:32The baby would need a ticket correct?
- 24:35Yeah. Yayoi to think about that.
- 24:38Oh, honey, your role. The one-year-old, who can't see.
- 24:43Now, the baby wouldn't need to take it on the plane.
- 24:47No, because there are a lot baby, right?
- 24:54Come on. So yeah, we work in that thing
- 24:57out, but if there's a second ticket, I'm in that kind.
- 25:00Getting that I'm gone. Yes.
- 25:16It is to some degree, a roulette wheel as to what your
- 25:23quarterbacking skills are and who takes you, right?
- 25:26Because like, look, Joe Montana, who was the goat for a very long
- 25:31time and in some people's mind, still is some people's mind off
- 25:34it. I said something just relax,
- 25:37there are some people who still think he is right, but the point
- 25:40is like if he doesn't get taken by the 49ers and doesn't and
- 25:44doesn't go to You know that genius.
- 25:47Absolutely right. Then he's a different guy and
- 25:50that's probably the Kate like look dude imagined a Marino
- 25:53went, I don't know anywhere else.
- 25:57He probably would have won a couple Super Bowls.
- 25:59Yeah, right. But you know, like at the end of
- 26:03same, same with Jim Kelly. What does winter for lost them
- 26:08all? So like yeah there is definitely
- 26:10that look piece to it but it's just funny man.
- 26:13Like That that the Brady falls into that category store, right?
- 26:21Um, and and you know, Patrick Mahomes are Rogers like all of
- 26:26them fall into into the same kind of category.
- 26:28Like what you want to do is be the most talented guy for sure.
- 26:33But then that luck piece has to take out test to take over and
- 26:36help you out. because I can tell you this right now, if Randall
- 26:40Cunningham went Someplace different Randall Cunningham.
- 26:46Probably would have won a Super Bowl or to my rental Cunningham
- 26:48at Comer if Andy Reid was the head coach of the Eagles.
- 26:53When Randy, come on, Randall. Cunningham was drafted.
- 26:56They might have won a Super Bowl Ramen.
- 26:58Kind of hear my original favorite player and okay, know
- 27:02if Mike Vick had been drafted by the Eagles instead of the
- 27:07Falcons, right? And had Andy Reid from the
- 27:10beginning, we might have got Lamar Might have been like Lamar
- 27:142.0 here, right? Because if because if Mike fit
- 27:18go someplace that makes him study and make some be first one
- 27:20in last one out. They win Super Bowls two, let's
- 27:23be clear. Mike Vick is still the, he is
- 27:25still the person with the strongest arm to ever play
- 27:28quarterback in the NFL. I said it, look it up like that.
- 27:33Includes that Marino. That includes John Elway.
- 27:37That includes Patrick Mahomes and Josh Talent.
- 27:39All of whom have ridiculous on Talent.
- 27:42Just just go back and watch my Victor footballs that's all.
- 27:45I'm telling you like Mike, Vick is the strongest arm to ever
- 27:48play the NFL and he's also the fastest I've ever played ever
- 27:52play quarterback to. Hey, Hugo.
- 27:58All right, moving on. We know that we've got a
- 28:05supergroup. What did you call them?
- 28:09Not. Voltron, dang it.
- 28:11I can't think of it right now. Anyway, so Avengers Avengers a
- 28:15training group happening right now.
- 28:17In California, we've got mr. Coach Cruces training group, and
- 28:22there has been conversation as to, which of the Training groups
- 28:27by the decades is better current or the one in the 90s that what
- 28:33it is. Sorry.
- 28:34It would be will say right on the mid 80s to mid 90s like that
- 28:39decade. So though we're doing crossover.
- 28:42Okay, well it's not real crossover right there, weren't
- 28:45that many people like if you look at that, look at his group
- 28:48from ATP. So let's just use use Olympics,
- 28:51right? 84 to 90 to.
- 28:54So, lay it out for The people so that, so that.
- 28:57So that group includes, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Gail Devers Greg.
- 29:04Foster Valerie Brisco hooks. What's wrong with me?
- 29:15She was the track coach at UCLA for forever and that Bolden
- 29:18Jeanette Bolden before she tore her.
- 29:20Achilles mom Florence Griffith Joyner.
- 29:24We just call her Flo Jo, that's easier.
- 29:30No offense to anybody else but like that's kind of it like
- 29:33meeting there's others for sure. But like that's what I'm going
- 29:37to say that. I think I think I named all the
- 29:38metals. Right?
- 29:41And let's be clear. It's a lot of metals in that
- 29:43group. Yeah.
- 29:45So and I'll tell you that you didn't write.
- 29:47So what'd you say I said someone will tell you that you did it.
- 29:50That's okay. I don't think there's any Metals
- 29:54I miss, but I got you anyway. So that group.
- 29:57Yeah, I'm sure. You know, somebody will text in
- 29:59that, you know, send you an email that offers is always
- 30:01talking about how many ways it was Alice Brown in that group.
- 30:08Probably because she was done by.
- 30:11She was done by 88. Okay.
- 30:13So so that group versus this group, which is now Kenny
- 30:22prandini Thing, mo, Sid Allison's not there anymore.
- 30:32Who'd you say Brandon Williams? Yes.
- 30:36Who 800-meter Runner. Brandon Miller Miller Miller.
- 31:02He's been a friend for a very long time.
- 31:06Is his female resume versus his mail, resume is not a
- 31:13comparison. So I'm not saying he can't coach
- 31:16men, so don't ask me but at the end of the day, The list of
- 31:24females he's coached and if you don't, you don't have to say
- 31:27that he can't. No, no one would say that.
- 31:29He can't. Let's just say that.
- 31:30Basically, he does he, he really hasn't and really doesn't write
- 31:34like the medal count on the women.
- 31:37He's coach versus the men, he's coached his billion to like to
- 31:42sew, right? So this it, what exactly is the
- 31:49question here? The question is which group is
- 31:52better? Because because it wasn't big
- 31:55question was brought to us? Yes.
- 31:57And so, whoever brought that whoever brought that question,
- 32:03that's a silly question at best. It's a to be determined question
- 32:09and it's, and it's really complicated because I think and
- 32:16I'm speaking for myself and probably the other two tiles
- 32:20that aren't here. We all have agreed that we think
- 32:24Bobby curse. He is going to do a phenomenal
- 32:26job across the board here because that's what he does.
- 32:32But don't get it twisted. He did not Invent A Thing mo or
- 32:39develop a Thing mo. I think most walking in their
- 32:43world champion Olympic champion American record holder.
- 32:47That's not his work. Yes.
- 32:49But Jenny's, you becomes when she becomes sure the world
- 32:53record holder store but that's what that's why it's a silly
- 32:56question right now. Sid, yes, what he does what he
- 33:02is done with Sid. That's him.
- 33:04Kenny is not the world record holder anymore and she didn't
- 33:09become the world record holder under his tutelage but when she
- 33:13becomes it, oh, now we can have that debate.
- 33:16I don't think Kenny's getting anywhere near that.
- 33:18Listen, I'm just trying to help the people who ask this
- 33:21question. Well, so this is why it's a
- 33:23silly question because the best answer that you can give if you
- 33:27even want to pick the at New School group is to be determined
- 33:31because I haven't done anything. Well, I'm gonna go further.
- 33:37Like I'm gonna go further and where they would have to go it,
- 33:41right? This is where I'm going is, is
- 33:43this right? If you give Sid every medal that
- 33:48you think she's going to contest?
- 33:51And you give a Thing, mo every metal that you think she's going
- 33:55to contest through the rest of their careers, right?
- 33:59So that's, that's if you give Sid, let's go crazy and say she
- 34:04wins a 400 and 400 hurdles and 4x4 in 20 for sure.
- 34:10Right. And does the same in 28, sure?
- 34:14Right. I mean, at me, literally that's
- 34:16I mean that's where we're at right now and anything more wins
- 34:19the 8 and the 4 R by 4 in 24 and 28, right?
- 34:25And and Kenny comes back and it's a world record holder and
- 34:27is the gold medalist in 24 and 28.
- 34:31If you give them all of the metals that they are going to
- 34:34contest that going to come up short.
- 34:38Because like here, look listen. This younger generation.
- 34:41Never saw Valerie Brisco hooks so they don't understand like
- 34:46she won the 42. Four by four triple at the
- 34:55Olympics. All right, Jackie one, all of
- 35:01the metals everywhere, Gail massively, underachieved as a
- 35:08hurdler in winning. Silver medal.
- 35:14Yeah. And silver medal.
- 35:16Oh by the way she also won back-to-back gold medals in the
- 35:20100 track we're like right and then we won't.
- 35:26Okay listen and then there's Flo-Jo she won the ones when the
- 35:30two From the 4x1. Got the silver in the 4 by 4
- 35:34because it was demanded of her, right?
- 35:38Like that group alone. We're not even talking about
- 35:41Greg Foster and his silver medals in the Olympics and his
- 35:45gold medals in the world championships and with all due
- 35:48respect to mr. Miller, we are not going to
- 35:50spend one. Second, comparing those two
- 35:52people. It's so like this is, I guess
- 35:55this is the part that I wish young, listen, this is a great
- 35:58question for us to educate people.
- 36:01It's not a This question posed by high school student.
- 36:04No no! Oh my gosh.
- 36:06Listen a lot of people in this generation just they don't know
- 36:11anything. Older than like you know, 2000
- 36:17like that's that's history for them if they don't understand
- 36:20they don't understand. Is that like listen no matter
- 36:23what we will ever do in the Olympics nothing will surpass
- 36:26what we did in 84 because our team was loaded and the Europe
- 36:30and the Eastern Bloc didn't come.
- 36:33So like that we was like, Hey I mean, listen, this is not a
- 36:36diss. Al Joyner is a gold medalist in
- 36:39the in the triple jump. Because there were no Easter,
- 36:42watchable jumpers for him to compete against.
- 36:45Right? So like at the end of the day,
- 36:47like we weren't giving out medals but Every metal that it
- 36:51was possible for us to contest for, or we won in 84, right?
- 36:57That won't be the case in 2028 even without the Russians.
- 37:01Like, even if the Russians don't come in 2028, right?
- 37:04Even if even if we make them not a thing, they're still way more
- 37:07of the world that we have to compete against on our home
- 37:10soil. Like, just like World
- 37:12Championships. We had a great world
- 37:13championships, but there's a whole lot of events that we
- 37:16normally would have won medals in the, we didn't.
- 37:18So at the end of the day, like like I This is a, this is a, I'm
- 37:22glad this question was asked, so we could educate stop it.
- 37:28Bobby's mid 80s to early. 90s grouping, is Mount Rushmore.
- 37:35Like what? You can't compare like the HSI
- 37:41group in their Heyday. Still falls short and that's
- 37:45like Moe Greene and I do not owe Bolden and and anger Miller.
- 37:49And like, I mean, there's a bunch of medals in that group,
- 37:51let's be clear. It still falls short.
- 37:56Yeah, Bobby is metal count in 84?
- 37:58And 88 92 are just dumb. So appreciate it.
- 38:08Thanks for watching and please continue.
- 38:14Maybe it's just the guys that think that, what do you think?
- 38:17So I honestly don't have an answer because I'm not.
- 38:21I am the population that you referred to.
- 38:24As I know of the older training group, I don't know about the
- 38:30training group. So I was not running track at
- 38:33that time so that was it route not it wasn't relevant.
- 38:35Let's just be real, it wasn't relevant so I'm not educated.
- 38:39So I was being educated just now in death.
- 38:44I say this. I think whoever asked this
- 38:46question would have their answer if they go back, you can Google
- 38:50it. There's a Sports Illustrated
- 38:52cover after it from the Seoul Olympics of.
- 38:57Jackie and Flo Jo and all of their medals from that Olympics.
- 39:05And Jackie one. She won the Hep.
- 39:10I think she was, it's either one or was silver in the in the long
- 39:15jump. Hello, Joe won the 11, the 21,
- 39:20the four by one and was silver in the 4x4.
- 39:24Like the two of them were standing there with like seven
- 39:27metals. From that Olympics, Lamar as as
- 39:32you have heard me stayed. My current Collegiate team is
- 39:37like, 80% freshmen. They don't know nothing.
- 39:43I mean, that all get to thousands.
- 39:46He'll most of them was born in the 2000.
- 39:49They don't know. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:51No, no, no, but don't, they have a hard time figuring out last
- 39:56year and it's Only, if it was on social media, they had to learn
- 40:01fed. It didn't go in, search it.
- 40:03Yeah, they a softening of their day is like a mat.
- 40:05Like there's so many so many amazing things that happened
- 40:07before Twitter existed. Yeah right.
- 40:13All right. Well, another all-time great
- 40:19conversation about to be had So we've had some pretty relevant
- 40:23news lately. Going back to the NFL about our
- 40:28Lift it up, goat for some on the tiles here.
- 40:32Tom Brady, not speaking of the retirement that cave afloat
- 40:36today. But speaking of is he the most
- 40:39accomplished athlete ever Clearly, I have to go first
- 40:44because mean, I think that if Clyde has a second child, he's
- 40:48going to name him, he's or Tom or Brady.
- 40:51Well first of all I would never I can see a Brady.
- 40:56I could see a I can see you have a kid named Brady at all?
- 41:02Not at all. Look.
- 41:07I am on record as not being a Tom Brady fan.
- 41:10I was one of those people that had to have like Joe Montana is
- 41:16the goat ripped from my hands. Okay, so I want to make sure
- 41:21everybody knows where I'm coming from.
- 41:28I'm going to have to lament here very, very soon that LeBron is
- 41:33probably the goat in basketball. I'll probably still vote for MJ
- 41:40but I totally get it at this point, right?
- 41:43This is a dude who's a pass. First guy is going to have the
- 41:46Des scoring record in the NBA. So, like at the end of the day
- 41:48is like this a my day job. This this is this, my side chick
- 41:53and I'm still better at it than everybody.
- 41:56I get it. I do understand.
- 42:01I'm lucky. I'm 52 years old.
- 42:03So I've seen I've seen I think at this point, the greatest
- 42:10basketball players, the greatest football players, the greatest
- 42:14tennis players. I think I've actually seen in my
- 42:1852 years. I think I've seen the greatest
- 42:20in every sport and I'll say this.
- 42:25I'm not disrespecting Bill Russell in his 11 titles, titles
- 42:29matter, don't get me wrong. but it's a conglomeration, right of
- 42:36titles who you played, who you beat what the competitive
- 42:40balance was like all that stuff comes into this conversation and
- 42:47at the end of the day, I I begrudgingly come to this.
- 42:59Michael, Jordan was amazing and I still think he's the best
- 43:03ever. LeBron has faced, even even
- 43:10tougher competition over a longer span.
- 43:15And, and, and hence why is not a successful, right?
- 43:19Like I get that is what I'm saying?
- 43:21I'm giving respect to all that. Brady has 7 and the number
- 43:28should be 7 because there's two, he shouldn't have and then
- 43:31there's two that he should Like my giants.
- 43:34Like here's the truth, right? Like my Giants.
- 43:36Beat him twice. And we were the inferior team
- 43:38both times, but he shouldn't have the Super Bowl from when
- 43:42if, if the, if the Seahawks run the football, right?
- 43:49And if the Falcons run the football, like he doesn't have
- 43:53those two. So at the end of the day, like
- 43:54those for balance themselves out.
- 43:57He he's earned seven. Which means he has more rings
- 44:03than any organization. Right?
- 44:10The funny part is like nobody pays attention to this.
- 44:14Belichick has eight. Because he 12 is assistant with
- 44:19the Giants, but but we're not going, we're not going to go
- 44:21there because it's the coaching rings are different.
- 44:25But the man has seven Rings. and, His ring total Serena's
- 44:37Championship total. Given the level of competition,
- 44:41she played Tigers Championship total given the level of
- 44:45competition. He played LeBron MJ.
- 44:51And maybe Gretzky are like the pool of who we're talking about.
- 44:58Like that's probably it. and, as begrudgingly as his is for me to
- 45:06say like, I think so. I think Tom seven titles is
- 45:14actually the best thing I've seen in 52 years because I
- 45:23listened today they were talking about this in like really and
- 45:26truly like the ceiling for greatness in the NFL is for
- 45:28titles. Right.
- 45:32Like they're very, very, very few people who have four rings.
- 45:40And Brady has seven. Right.
- 45:44Like I think Patrick Mahomes is going to be the best guy and I
- 45:51think he's going to end up with like, Five.
- 45:56And that's, if luck works out in his favor, right?
- 45:59Because here's the thing, at some point, I'm like, okay,
- 46:02let's say he wins this one. That's two, right?
- 46:05Let's say he wins another one as the best guy that's three then
- 46:09he's gonna have to win two more, where he's like, kind of he's
- 46:11really good but carried by the defense kind of you know like
- 46:14that's how that happens to, right, but that's still too
- 46:17short. Right?
- 46:19Like we play more games, he played more playoff game.
- 46:22Like there's just a lot of things that are going to play
- 46:25into the, you're not winning seven.
- 46:29And and in my 52. So, we'll see.
- 46:32I start being a sports fan at for so it my 48 years of fandom.
- 46:39Seven frigging NFL titles. Is probably the greatest and
- 46:45most accomplished thing I've ever seen.
- 46:50And again, no disrespect to Bill Russell and his 11
- 46:53championships. With some of them championships
- 46:57is like bro your team was like, literally twice as good as the
- 47:01average other team in the NBA. The fourth star lucious, I will
- 47:07say this for him. Thank you for taking us around
- 47:10the block about 12 times. Yep so far that you went and
- 47:15went ahead and first named Tom Brady as if you should do it on
- 47:18the side but anyhow, good explanation.
- 47:25Go ahead. Don't play me so Michael Phelps.
- 47:47Listen. I mean listen, I'm a fan of
- 47:50swimming. I'm a huge fan of Michael
- 47:51Phelps, but at the end of the day, man, stop it like that.
- 47:55Dude is winning, he's winning races in the hundred, the 150 to
- 47:58200 to 250 the light like like It ain't like Michael Phelps was
- 48:06a sprinter and showed endurance, right?
- 48:09He just had a whole bunch of medals won in the same athletic
- 48:14area. Michael spoke.
- 48:19Michael Phelps is the best Sprinter to ever, ever get in
- 48:21the pool. I get it.
- 48:23Okay. So, Tom Brady is the best person
- 48:25to throw a ball. Ya know, there's a whole lot
- 48:29more to football, then I'm, I'm boiling it down.
- 48:33I got you. That's your choice.
- 48:35So, let me, let me not poopoo it.
- 48:37I'll be like, ooh, like Michael Phelps, I got you.
- 48:42So, the one thing I'll say about the Michael Phelps is Lamar got
- 48:48The room, right? But you left out Phelps and
- 48:52bulk. Which is wrong with you.
- 48:56Oh, I left bolt out because I don't want to put bold and Carl
- 48:59in. That's not enough.
- 49:01You just put bolts in and that's no, no, absolutely not.
- 49:05Because cause building a long jump, puts him in the same
- 49:08category as bowl. And we are not, we are not going
- 49:11to Sidetrack. So I am.
- 49:16I am proud to watch, you go around the block in such an
- 49:21accurate fashion. Thank you.
- 49:24Thank you. That was worth the time.
- 49:27I tried to give the moment. It's due.
- 49:31So here's and I really, really hope that over the next.
- 49:43Week month year that there are as many and proper tributes.
- 49:54To this man as he deserves because he deserves them all.
- 50:03I could sit here and list the statistics, but it doesn't
- 50:07matter. Just know if there's a record to
- 50:11be had, he has it playoffs regular season, they're all his
- 50:18okay. They're all his.
- 50:23And the number twos aren't even close.
- 50:28Some of those number 26, was not in the not when you put them in
- 50:33the context. But touche, the playoff members,
- 50:38know this man has 35 playoff wins.
- 50:44I know it's in the next best, number is ascendancy.
- 50:47No, it's stupid. There's no question.
- 50:50Okay, so and this is, this is the thing that This was the one
- 50:57that did it for me from a couple of years ago.
- 50:59And it's only gotten worse since then.
- 51:03At one point in his career, you could literally cut Tom Brady's
- 51:08career in half and you could look at the first half.
- 51:12Or what he accomplished in the second half and either have is a
- 51:17better career than whoever you want to call number two.
- 51:22Well, it's worse. Now, any third is better.
- 51:27Now, you are wit. I will run it for you later.
- 51:32Stop it. Any third is better.
- 51:35Listen, do not going to disrespect your Montana like
- 51:38that. I'm not disrespecting your mom.
- 51:39Yes, you are. Who was the goat and was mine
- 51:44only I got up off of it right on time.
- 51:46Okay I'll give you a half. Maybe even go to a third you can
- 51:52though you don't I walk you through it.
- 51:57So, here's the, here's the thing.
- 51:59But the question is, the question is, in essence, is he
- 52:03the most accomplished? That that depends on how you
- 52:10look at the word accomplished, there will be people that were
- 52:13like of course not Bill Russell, right?
- 52:17I like the way I, like the way you put, put it because for me,
- 52:21I'm a context guy, context matters.
- 52:24Yes. Tom Brady.
- 52:28Is for me, unequivocally. The goat of goats in sport and
- 52:35here's the biggest and most overlooked reason why.
- 52:40His career. Started and has ended.
- 52:46Through the through the world and the lens of free agency.
- 52:52The free agency piece of this is huge.
- 52:55Huge, how many players come in and out?
- 52:58How much talent does he lose around him?
- 53:01Does he have to face new right for all the people that love the
- 53:06screaming about Belichick? And Belichick is my goat coach
- 53:11Belichick's, not an offensive guy.
- 53:13Brady was great with every offensive coordinator.
- 53:18He worked with all of them, even the ones.
- 53:22They can't coach it all outside of New England.
- 53:25Okay, like just forget him. This man and what he
- 53:33accomplished and also given the context of he isn't, the most
- 53:40talented. He's not even close to the most
- 53:42talented. He's not top 20.
- 53:44Most talented in the seventh round pick.
- 53:50Yeah, but that has nothing to do with his talent.
- 53:52Yes really? Yeah let us know.
- 54:09Okay, athleticism minimal. Yeah, is no athleticism arm
- 54:14Talent. He has.
- 54:16He has high-quality arm Talent. He does not have a big army.
- 54:19Never has had a big arm. He's incredibly accurate which
- 54:23is a skill, right? But Tom Brady is Tom Brady
- 54:29because of his brain. His leadership.
- 54:35And that. You know, those undefined
- 54:40intangible things that he can just find a way to do over and
- 54:45over and over to everybody. You know what the coolest thing
- 54:49is about Tom Brady. He retired today and that marked
- 54:54the end of an era. Tom Brady was the last person
- 54:59drafted by the Montreal Expos. Sure, who was still playing a
- 55:05sport? So that in and of itself is like
- 55:11the kind of cool that nobody else has, yeah, right.
- 55:15He was drafted in the eighteenth round by a major league baseball
- 55:18team that no longer exists that since ever you will never.
- 55:23We will never see anything like this again in our lifetimes.
- 55:29Never, I don't know, man. Listen, I'm inclined to agree
- 55:33with you. I am I said so but I I'll just
- 55:37say this, I don't think anybody's going to catch him,
- 55:40but there's no question. If there is anyone who is going
- 55:43to, it's, it's the beige guy that plays a Kansas City.
- 55:47I don't know what you're. I don't know what you mean, by
- 55:49catch him. Patrick Mahomes has a has an
- 55:53inherent advantage in statistics given the way, the rules of the
- 55:57game are now and that there's an extra game.
- 56:01Cool, those are stats. I'm sure he probably won't on my
- 56:06rings. I'm only talking about Rings.
- 56:08Okay, there is there's no form of reality where Patrick
- 56:14Williams gets anywhere near seven wins let alone.
- 56:18Ten appearances at, listen. I'm not that that's gonna be
- 56:22here. Insist the 10 appearances are
- 56:25even more impressive than the seven winds mean, yeah.
- 56:30But I I'm just saying like look I agree with you.
- 56:33I don't think anybody gets there but I am saying this, if there
- 56:38is a human being that God has ever blessed.
- 56:41On this planet with us, that has a chance of winning Seven Rings.
- 56:47It's a guy that has been in. He has been a starter five years
- 56:50and has been in the AFC Championship five times.
- 56:54That's cute. They don't pass this stop, don't
- 56:56do, don't do that, don't do that.
- 56:58He's been the starter for five years.
- 57:00I was in his third Super Bowl. So let's be clear if he wins
- 57:05this Super Bowl. He's on track.
- 57:08Sure, that's all I'm saying. After behind will not be going
- 57:12to get homes. Will not be playing football
- 57:15elite football in his 40s? That's why I said, I don't think
- 57:20he's going to get there, but if there is a human being like
- 57:24listen, if there's anybody who has a chance above zero, it's
- 57:28Patrick where homes but nobody else's A chance like literally
- 57:32nobody else has a chance. So again, The fact that that
- 57:37man's name is even in this part of our conversation is
- 57:40disrespectful. It is premium longer.
- 57:43It is ridiculous. I'm all for the question, go to
- 57:49of goats and if it's not Brady who, if person X wants to make
- 57:54the case for Phelps, I don't really like it, but I understand
- 57:59if you want to make the case for Jordan, I don't like it but I
- 58:04understand, let's listen. Tell you that in my mind and my
- 58:11mind that the conversation is probably between well it don't
- 58:16don't steal my answers because that's what I was about to say.
- 58:19the conversation if there is one is again context for 80, Serena
- 58:29Serena, Muhammad Ali, and Tiger, Woods Valley, Brady and Serena I
- 58:36think is the is the legitimate conversation and and I was
- 58:42always a tiger's always a very interesting one, but the problem
- 58:46I think I would always have with tiger is it It's like, it's like
- 58:49this. Tiger has shot himself in the
- 58:53foot. Yes.
- 58:55And that's and that's where I was going.
- 58:56And that's so those are those are my four conversations that I
- 59:00would legitimately entertain. And here's the reason why I
- 59:03can't go there. Tiger.
- 59:07Who is undeniably incredible, right?
- 59:12Ultimately shot himself in the foot.
- 59:15Ultimately fell short of what he even.
- 59:20He could have been through his own doings.
- 59:24Hmm. So for that, I'm not going to
- 59:26pick technically the underachiever in context over
- 59:31the overachiever. I'm not going to do that.
- 59:35Serena is a real conversation and the only competition and the
- 59:40only reason that I would disqualify Serena at the end is
- 59:44because Serena is Holy in charge of her own career in her own
- 59:50accolades. It's her it's her on a court
- 59:54against whoever. No one else can mess it up.
- 59:58It's just Serena The basketball guys, whichever one you want to
- 1:00:03pick, it is easier to affect the outcome of a basketball game as
- 1:00:09an individual player than it is a football game.
- 1:00:14So, Tom, Brady has done the hardest thing in the hardest
- 1:00:18sport in the hardest circumstances of free agency.
- 1:00:25And he's lapped, the field. Again and again, in his own
- 1:00:30sport, I'm not going to say he's lapped that room because that
- 1:00:34room is closed. But in his sport, the the level
- 1:00:39of Stranglehold dominance that that man has held over the NFL
- 1:00:45for as long as he has. You're never going to see this
- 1:00:48again. And I'm just, I can't even say
- 1:00:52I'm sad today because he went out the way you wanted to go
- 1:00:56out. And if anybody is earned It's
- 1:00:58him. I was absolutely rooting for him
- 1:01:02to be like, you know what, just to be Petty, come home.
- 1:01:07And I do mean home to the Bay Area and throw one more on
- 1:01:12there, just because you can which Hebrew word, which he
- 1:01:15would. But let's be real.
- 1:01:17Who's turning down 350 million dollars to sit in the booth,
- 1:01:21right? Mike, hey, yeah, and we'll see
- 1:01:26if that will see if that goes that way.
- 1:01:28A, I'm assuming it's going to go that way.
- 1:01:30I look, I know I sound like the biggest simp ever.
- 1:01:33I'm like I'm legitimately rooting for him and Gisela.
- 1:01:36Get back together. Yeah I just want to I want to
- 1:01:41see one of them, one of them super couples actually like work
- 1:01:44out. Hey the day that that's that's
- 1:01:49the funniest thing of anything. If you take it off the field for
- 1:01:53all the he was and is and what not on the field.
- 1:01:56Giselle is the one that elevated him socially.
- 1:01:58It wasn't the other way acts right it.
- 1:02:00So I don't I don't see who knows you know that's that's personal
- 1:02:06life whatever but Yeah that was that was tough.
- 1:02:11He like for that to be his last year the divorce and go out with
- 1:02:16the way the Bucs had to go out. Crazy.
- 1:02:20But listen, everybody should, you know, Pay homage and, you
- 1:02:29know, reflect on what you've been able to witness because
- 1:02:34yeah, you're not going to see it again.
- 1:02:37Bay Area, stand up all the way. All right.
- 1:02:43Well, due to scheduling issues. Mr. Lamar is on.
- 1:02:49Would you rather this week? So I will say that some of these
- 1:02:54questions were tailored for the governor.
- 1:02:56So just answer previously briefly.
- 1:03:01It was a great long zipper man before you do this and I don't
- 1:03:05know if it's a time thing but did we did we actually on LLC
- 1:03:10completely blow bad Past the track segments.
- 1:03:15Yeah, we did. Okay.
- 1:03:19Can can we can we not do that? You should probably do.
- 1:03:23So a little bit of track is not do that.
- 1:03:29Yes, alright, so here we go. I just I just want to throw this
- 1:03:33out there. University of Arkansas is real
- 1:03:37disrespectful in the wind or hundred right now.
- 1:03:41It's a little it's a little late.
- 1:03:43Quote unquote, in the indoor season to be sitting number 2, 3
- 1:03:484 and 5 on the NCAA list in a singular event.
- 1:03:52Yeah. But let's just be honest,
- 1:03:53they're nowhere near as just as disrespectful as University of
- 1:03:56Washington men in the in the mile which is exactly where I
- 1:03:59was going to go next, guys. I want I want everybody who
- 1:04:03watches the show to understand what I'm Saying the four-minute
- 1:04:06mile is a joke, whatever, but it's still something that we
- 1:04:10compared to, right? Yes.
- 1:04:14University of Washington. Seven people.
- 1:04:16Run under the four-minute mile in the same race.
- 1:04:18Yes. And are currently sitting one,
- 1:04:21two, three and four. It 1 2 3 4 like 710 or some
- 1:04:26nonsense. Like they got seven people in
- 1:04:29the top 10 1 2 3 4 and 9 at the moment but pointer which points
- 1:04:36thing. Yeah, that one is dumb, right?
- 1:04:39And and, and for the record, the one, two, three, and four is a
- 1:04:42sophomore, a senior of Freshmen. Senior.
- 1:04:45Yeah. Like University of Washington
- 1:04:47was like here. Hold my beer.
- 1:04:49I got know that. That's I mean my name is look.
- 1:04:53Oklahoma state had for guy as run under four minutes in the
- 1:04:56same race. I watch that race.
- 1:04:58Yeah. Right.
- 1:04:59And that's kind of desperate enough of this past weekend,
- 1:05:01right? Yeah.
- 1:05:03Let's throw a party at home and be super disrespectful to the
- 1:05:06guests. Yeah, run the table.
- 1:05:10Ya know. So I mean You know, it. there
- 1:05:15are, there are there are There are very few that not those two
- 1:05:22situations notwithstanding like we've had some mind-blowing
- 1:05:25performances thus far and endure for sure but there's less of
- 1:05:31that I'm more impressed with just like okay.
- 1:05:36The Arkansas, the Razorback Invitational just gave us one,
- 1:05:40two, three, four, five, and six, one of which is Arkansas's be
- 1:05:45team, leading the country in the in the women's 4 by 4.
- 1:05:50Okay, so we're out here running around 26.
- 1:05:57Well, I mean again the B Team. Wait a minute.
- 1:06:02The B-Team. The B team has.
- 1:06:05Somebody's put 50 11. Hey, like, come on.
- 1:06:09What are we talking about here? 323 University of Florida.
- 1:06:14Not Akron. Not right.
- 1:06:16You know, Tempe State University of Florida.
- 1:06:19Broke their women School record by Two seconds.
- 1:06:24Yes. Chasing Arkansas this week.
- 1:06:27Yes. Yeah, there was a what?
- 1:06:33Now I might me and my crew were in a Albuquerque Albuquerque
- 1:06:39this weekend. And there was a, there was a
- 1:06:41camera, Roger exciting. He got to hang out with Cam and
- 1:06:46in the end the Cal throws crew who looked amazing as usual.
- 1:06:50Thanks you know props to most attire for the good show.
- 1:06:55But, you know, cams out there and in her in her secondary
- 1:06:59secondary sport. Art just you know out here
- 1:07:01tossing. Wait throws 23, 74 M you know
- 1:07:07having practice no big deal. Number 3.
- 1:07:10You know, and and I'm going to take a personal point of
- 1:07:17privilege right now because this doesn't happen, you know, around
- 1:07:20here right now. San Jose State has a top 10 in
- 1:07:24the country athlete right now. Amelia so strong.
- 1:07:27Women's triple jump is currently sitting number six in the nation
- 1:07:31at 13:37. Obviously, a School record and
- 1:07:38PR and apparently top 10 ever in the nation of Sweden, where she
- 1:07:43is from, I was gonna ask is what's the very dope moment for
- 1:07:49for us and insert a million. And I thought that was awesome.
- 1:07:53I am going to stand on the table and beat the drum for my
- 1:07:57constituency. Combine the vendors never get
- 1:08:03their due. Like we just do what we do.
- 1:08:07The people who know are, like, man, you guys are amazing.
- 1:08:11The rest of the world's like, oh, that's cool.
- 1:08:13Is it dealing big snow? Okay, then we don't care, I need
- 1:08:18people to understand this. Kyle Garland put up the number 8
- 1:08:23performance all time this weekend, right?
- 1:08:29And everybody was like talking about Kyle breaking, the
- 1:08:33Collegiate record and so therefore and this is what I
- 1:08:37hate is what I hate because they were talking about the
- 1:08:40possibility of him, breaking the Collegiate record.
- 1:08:42It seems like a disappointment that he scored 60 for 15.
- 1:08:44I need people to understand this.
- 1:08:46The Collegiate record 64 99. It is the number to perform It's
- 1:08:49of all time behind oh Ashton Eaton's, world record at 6600.
- 1:08:54So the same guy has one and two Right, like 6400 points in
- 1:09:00heptathlon, is dong. And to do it in January is even
- 1:09:05dumber. So, I want people to understand
- 1:09:10this, that man, weighs 230 pounds and 12 to 19 smoothly.
- 1:09:16Let's just, look, I think people can understand this.
- 1:09:21If I can, if I can get people to understand like, how good Kyle
- 1:09:24Garland is, he's a see-through. 16 meters Plus in the shot, put
- 1:09:30and jump to 19 in the high jump. On the same day.
- 1:09:36Yeah, right, so like look at your track team, whatever team
- 1:09:40you're on doesn't matter which team you're on.
- 1:09:44Find the guy that can do throw 60 meters plus and imagine him
- 1:09:48jumping 73. 72 and a half, right?
- 1:09:53Okay, find the guy that jumped seven two and a half.
- 1:09:58And imagine him thrown 54 feet in the shopper.
- 1:10:02Exactly, that's right, right? So at the end of the day, like I
- 1:10:06need everybody to stand up and give this man his flowers.
- 1:10:10And it's props because 6400, as the Collegian is dumb, well said
- 1:10:17the only other two things that I really want to get in there
- 1:10:20because they happen this past weekend and I'm very excited to
- 1:10:24see how this plays out. You know favor of feely is still
- 1:10:29in the NCAA folks. She reminded everybody this
- 1:10:33weekend in case in case that was you know, forgotten something.
- 1:10:37So 2253 in the 200, in January is a Little disrespectful.
- 1:10:45And yeah but meanwhile in her in her own training group illya
- 1:10:49Hobbs is like here hold my beer for sure, for sure.
- 1:10:52But I'll meet you at the 70 and this sub 7 real quick.
- 1:10:56Yeah. And then I'm going to step off
- 1:10:57and go and go and and Alia nailing Her starts Alia going 0
- 1:11:03to 60. Well is potentially a solution
- 1:11:08to a very big problem that we have.
- 1:11:11So I'm here for that. Even, I believe you said this on
- 1:11:14the show up seven is sub-10 seven.
- 1:11:21That's not really how it works over you.
- 1:11:24And and in her case should be loose sub 10-7 in her case.
- 1:11:29Absolutely. All right.
- 1:11:31So she's she's not the starter. She's a finisher, right?
- 1:11:37Exactly. So yes.
- 1:11:39And then the other one, you know?
- 1:11:43Well, there's really two anytime.
- 1:11:45There's, you know. Hi.
- 1:11:47Well done, things by by the Gamecocks, and this wasn't this
- 1:11:50past weekend, but I missed it, mr.
- 1:11:54Evan Miller is number two in the country in the 400 right now at
- 1:11:5845 91 Gamecock Alum. So I'm here for that, keep
- 1:12:04grinding young man but one of the cooler stories in the NCAA
- 1:12:09right now is the fact that Christopher Bailey of University
- 1:12:12of Consider who is a senior is leading the country at 4509.
- 1:12:19I don't even care about the time, which is phenomenal.
- 1:12:21I care that he is formally formerly.
- 1:12:25Christopher Bailey of Mississippi Valley State.
- 1:12:29He is a swac transfer portal Imports and I saw this kid as a
- 1:12:37freshman in person and he was a problem then and I am glad not
- 1:12:45that he left the swac because that's not it.
- 1:12:48I'm glad that his talents are now going to get a bigger
- 1:12:52Spotlight because he deserves one.
- 1:12:56And that dude is really, really gifted.
- 1:13:01So I won't be surprised about anything he accomplishes this
- 1:13:06year, but I will be proud to say, I saw him first early in
- 1:13:13Birmingham, Alabama, when we were trying to battle it out in
- 1:13:17the swac, with Mississippi Valley State.
- 1:13:19So, I'm a big fan of that, dude. And whatever he accomplishes
- 1:13:23this year, how I will be standing and applauding for him.
- 1:13:28I have one that's maybe not super highlighted.
- 1:13:32But again, kind of going through the, the combined events and a
- 1:13:37halt running 51. For this is out there, playing
- 1:13:42people and doing Anna things, like and then you understand and
- 1:13:45all of us PR to the sticks. He hurdles the 400 indoors and
- 1:13:48the shot. Put this indoor season.
- 1:13:52All right, for no reason, just like, how all this stuff to do,
- 1:13:57So, I mean, I thought that much I loved seeing that.
- 1:14:00That was amazing. I listen, I'm not gonna get off
- 1:14:02this show without clearing my name.
- 1:14:07Vast, I don't 197 last week at Iowa, I did not know this.
- 1:14:17So, you know, I got accused of like not giving her her props
- 1:14:19because I'm like, two feet. I'm the resident field of that
- 1:14:21guy. I didn't know because Iowa did a
- 1:14:25horrific job of putting results out.
- 1:14:28I'm not going to blame them. I'm just saying, I didn't know.
- 1:14:31So who so who are we thinking for bringing that to you?
- 1:14:34We're not doing that. We gonna get back to her.
- 1:14:36Brock's example, 197 will say one of the best high jump
- 1:14:41coaches in the history of the United States called me out.
- 1:14:44And you know, listen, I appreciate it.
- 1:14:46I can take it. I'm a big boy.
- 1:14:49I will also say that 238 was jumped this weekend.
- 1:14:53So, There's that. To meditate in January is also
- 1:15:02dumb. That didn't happen.
- 1:15:05Track is you know what I think has happened since covid.
- 1:15:10The calendar doesn't matter. Yeah.
- 1:15:14Before covid. There was the flow, right?
- 1:15:18You'd get good marks, really good marks and it was a small to
- 1:15:22three week window of great marks.
- 1:15:24Now, because a covid, nobody's afraid to just do what they do.
- 1:15:30So you get marks like sub 7 and 238 and 6400.
- 1:15:39In January. Because they're not because
- 1:15:42they're not afraid that like I won't be better in March.
- 1:15:47But I think part of it too in on the converse is they're also not
- 1:15:51afraid to not perform at a certain time.
- 1:15:55Yeah. So I mean I know it's kind of
- 1:15:57the same of what you're saying, there's not the pressure of the
- 1:16:01Time of the Season on the spectrum that way you have to
- 1:16:03have a mark because you're supposed to be peaking here and
- 1:16:06you're supposed to be having this type of performance at this
- 1:16:08point in time there. Okay?
- 1:16:11Resting And they're okay like moving the markers around on the
- 1:16:17training plans, so it used to be 75 to 85% of the marks that
- 1:16:23qualify for an example, a happened.
- 1:16:25Valentine's we get Ironically like Valentine's vegan seems so
- 1:16:31far away even though it's not. But with the the peak of
- 1:16:37performances that we've already seen it just seems like we
- 1:16:40either blew past it or it's very far away.
- 1:16:43I mean I need people to understand like 2075 is
- 1:16:48currently 14th. Or teeth.
- 1:16:55They're holding on to be in the meat like this 2075 What's her
- 1:17:04listen in The Not. So recent past you run 2075, you
- 1:17:08listen, somebody already bought your plane ticket and your hotel
- 1:17:12room, they erect put in the per diem request.
- 1:17:16That's right. Because you was all right in the
- 1:17:18meantime and I promise you we're gonna have a segment next week
- 1:17:25of. What do you think?
- 1:17:27Like, you know, what is he? What's floor is the highest,
- 1:17:30right? What Elite morkul make the meat?
- 1:17:32Trust me when I tell you man it's six.
- 1:17:36What is 663 already? Yeah.
- 1:17:40And that's only one person because I think it's 662 is 15.
- 1:17:44Yeah, just just like that wash over you.
- 1:17:49All right. Allowing you to speak.
- 1:17:53One more time. When prompted.
- 1:17:55Are you ready forward through? Rather?
- 1:17:58Okay. Thinking of pizza.
- 1:18:02Do you like party? Cut slices or triangular slices?
- 1:18:07I guess, whatever that is. Try normal horse awake because I
- 1:18:11am a New Yorker, Pizza is only cut into 8 slices period time.
- 1:18:20So keeping with the food bean ice cream cup or cone.
- 1:18:27I am still a New Yorker own. Okay, track spikes implements
- 1:18:34not shoes quarter. Pyramids are needles.
- 1:18:39Neither elements as the posts. Got it.
- 1:18:44I was the Mizuno guy I'm into the posts.
- 1:18:48We run fast and jump high for your gear, moving around duffel
- 1:18:54bag, or book bag. Listen.
- 1:18:58He's the most of any, have them all those double for sure.
- 1:19:01Roller bag is the answer but those Psychopaths that choose
- 1:19:07duffel bag. I'm confused.
- 1:19:10Listen, if you if you're going to carry a burden why would you
- 1:19:14want to carry it out evenly? I don't even understand that.
- 1:19:20Like, literally people who choose duffel bags, I don't get.
- 1:19:22And you know what, the one long strap that just makes it worse
- 1:19:25because the only way to wear a one, long strap bag is
- 1:19:29diagonally across that you take the bag diagonally across your
- 1:19:33back right. You can't put it on one shoulder
- 1:19:35because there you go. Yeah backpack, sorry.
- 1:19:41Boarding passes electronic or paper?
- 1:19:44Electronic. Would you rather watch?
- 1:19:49Would you rather watch a DVR show or an on-demand show?
- 1:19:55DVR, I feel like I did some, would you rather watch a live
- 1:20:00broadcast or rebroadcast wife? Do you prefer live results for
- 1:20:07track meets or end of the weekend?
- 1:20:09She first Purge. Oh my God, live results again.
- 1:20:13I feel like I'm involved. The people who below the live
- 1:20:18results are very irritating. Human being irritating. it's
- 1:20:27funny too because you go across the spectrums of like flash
- 1:20:30results PT timing, Everybody's messed it up, right?
- 1:20:38I'm not picking on anybody but if you tell me, the results are
- 1:20:42lie. And damn it.
- 1:20:44I want to know who's winning the long jump now.
- 1:20:49And if you have to pick one group for the longest,
- 1:21:06That Arkansas is not 15 seconds, so I'm like ready for it to
- 1:21:12refresh and it doesn't refresh and gotta push 15 seconds.
- 1:21:16Anyways, that's my stupid. Not thinking.
- 1:21:20All right, why do you have a would you rather for the war?
- 1:21:25Excuse me. Um, I thought I would have a
- 1:21:36good track one for my really don't.
- 1:21:40So I'm in the middle of educating some folks on great
- 1:21:45television. Now, I know the answer but you
- 1:21:50can't give the answer. But the question is, so the
- 1:21:54question is not, what is the greatest HBO television show
- 1:21:59ever? Because, of course the wire,
- 1:22:01right? You just said not to give.
- 1:22:05I want him. I want to know what is the, what
- 1:22:08is the second-best HBO? So long time.
- 1:22:12So okay, most people will say Sopranos, I will disagree.
- 1:22:18I'm going to say Boardwalk Empire.
- 1:22:21That's interesting. Boardwalk Empire was amazing.
- 1:22:27It was and and the number the sheer just ridiculously
- 1:22:37unfathomable number of incredible actors and actresses
- 1:22:42that made either, you know, seasonal or once, you know, or
- 1:22:47one show or whatever appearances.
- 1:22:50We're working pyre was amazing. And Steve.
- 1:22:54Buscemi was insane. I'm really glad to hear you say
- 1:23:00that. It's not my choice but Boardwalk
- 1:23:02Empire and Treme arm. I slept on, I used to underrated
- 1:23:09HBO shows. I used to watch them both and
- 1:23:12I'll tell you this. If you're somebody who knows
- 1:23:14that the Levee broke in New Orleans but that's all you know.
- 1:23:20And you know, like FEMA didn't show up with checks.
- 1:23:23Watch Treme. Yes.
- 1:23:26Because it will teach you like, for real.
- 1:23:29What happened in New Orleans her store for sure.
- 1:23:32So, a true. I'm gonna throw that same
- 1:23:34question to you because I know you're a fan.
- 1:23:37So give us the second best guy, I know, you know the answer is
- 1:23:41the wire. Yes.
- 1:23:43So what is the second best? I don't watch HBO, we watch The
- 1:23:49Wire during the pandemic or that's what I was like, actually
- 1:23:53understanding what it that show was, but I'm having not grown up
- 1:23:57watching the page channels. It's not a sin Z list, we're
- 1:24:03going to get you. That's what I'm doing.
- 1:24:06So Yeah, I am are the Mars going to laugh at me.
- 1:24:10And that's okay. Because I, I probably won't
- 1:24:12laugh at you because I listen I you and II will say this like,
- 1:24:15this is this is the part people don't really know about me.
- 1:24:18And you, you and I have some deep-rooted similarities that
- 1:24:22people don't know about because they never come out on the show.
- 1:24:25This is probably one of the few like you.
- 1:24:27And I love really good television, and we love really
- 1:24:33good movies. Most people don't know that
- 1:24:35about either. One of us.
- 1:24:36This is true. So, My number two is actually a
- 1:24:42tie because they're they're totally different things.
- 1:24:46I can judge one above the other because they're totally
- 1:24:49different sex in the city and The Newsroom.
- 1:24:55The Newsroom is epic and it's only three seasons long.
- 1:25:01So if you can't stomach, you know, at 89 level season, kind
- 1:25:06of show, The Newsroom is where you want to go.
- 1:25:09So here's what's funny. If I didn't pick Boardwalk
- 1:25:13Empire because see the thing is, you told me you had to be HBO.
- 1:25:16Yes, but if I, if I was going to tell you the second best thing,
- 1:25:22Series that was ever on television.
- 1:25:25It would be able to probably be a tie or somewhere in that
- 1:25:29neighborhood between Boardwalk Empire, and The Boondocks.
- 1:25:34Oh, sure. I mean, we all know I am a
- 1:25:37humongous fan of Sex and the City It's great TV, right?
- 1:25:43Like you know it's funny when you when you travel in the
- 1:25:47circles we're in, right? When I people don't know about
- 1:25:50sex in the city and black people don't know about friends.
- 1:25:52You you need or Seinfeld you need, you need to have white
- 1:25:56friends. That's all I'ma tell you because
- 1:26:00Sex in the City friends, Seinfeld all top five.
- 1:26:06They're all the top five things that have been on television.
- 1:26:10When is insecure? It's Bo.
- 1:26:12It is yes insecure. And extremely well done.
- 1:26:15An extremely, well done. And so, here's what's funny
- 1:26:20insecure. Almost goes in a category of its
- 1:26:23own because there's never been anything else like it through
- 1:26:28before and and I'll be honest. They probably won't be anything
- 1:26:32like it afterwards because the stones required to do that show
- 1:26:39could only belong to a female if that makes any sense, I totally
- 1:26:44understand, right? Like, because you have to have
- 1:26:48the kind of stones was like, I don't care.
- 1:26:52Like this is too far. I know it's too far but I'm
- 1:26:55going to see if they're going to let me do it.
- 1:26:57Oh they let me do it. Let's go further.
- 1:27:00Yeah, because that's what happened and insecure and let's
- 1:27:04be clear. That show was built for women
- 1:27:09and I promise you. If you're a man and you watch
- 1:27:15every season, you will learn so many things.
- 1:27:18The exact same way with sex in the city, exact same way, when
- 1:27:22sexing city, you'll learn things about black people about why
- 1:27:25people, but most importantly, you learn things about women.
- 1:27:29Worldly learn things about relationships that that, you
- 1:27:32know, liked it, there's so many misconceptions that are out
- 1:27:36there. That figure it out.
- 1:27:39Nope, stop. I'm gonna I'm gonna demand that.
- 1:27:49The EP goes last. I don't really care if you go
- 1:27:53first to but he's got to go last.
- 1:27:55Yes sir. Yes sir.
- 1:27:58Okay, so my heartbeat props are a little nerdy track Insider
- 1:28:04stuff. I take a lot of shots at the
- 1:28:09alphabet crew and and rightfully so they deserve it as you
- 1:28:13should. But one of the things that they
- 1:28:16started doing in recent years that I think is actually pretty
- 1:28:19dope and everybody should take the time to go actually look at
- 1:28:23are what they call the event Squad rankings Squad rankings.
- 1:28:29I like in order to have in order to secure a squad ranking, you
- 1:28:33have to have some depth on your off.
- 1:28:36Esther, if you have for individual athletes who can test
- 1:28:41an event during the season indoor-outdoor, whatever.
- 1:28:45Your group will be eligible to be ranked in the squad rankings
- 1:28:51and it's pretty cool to see. Just because you know every now
- 1:28:57and then a program is going to have that one off, right?
- 1:29:00And that's hard enough to do. But if you are somehow in the
- 1:29:05top 20, in the top, 10 in the top 5 in a squad ranking, not
- 1:29:11only do you have solid legitimate Talent on your team
- 1:29:14but you are coaching your ass off.
- 1:29:17Okay, so, This is, you know, for example, the most obvious
- 1:29:25example right now, who you think is the number one squad list in
- 1:29:30the women's 400 is clearly University of Arkansas, right?
- 1:29:34Yes. So what they, what they do is
- 1:29:37they take your squad, they average it out.
- 1:29:41So for women at the University of Arkansas, the number one
- 1:29:45Squad are currently averaging 5191.
- 1:29:50Okay, is that good? And I feel like it's good.
- 1:29:53It's pretty good. It's pretty good.
- 1:29:56The the number two team is USC. Who is averaging 52 81?
- 1:30:02Yeah, right. So it's just a second, right?
- 1:30:08So this is very nerdy track Insider stuff, but imagine the
- 1:30:14pride that I currently have to know that of all things Speed
- 1:30:20City. San Jose State Track & Field is
- 1:30:24ranked number three in the nation in the women's triple
- 1:30:27jump. So Jim Shu 2.0 baby, right?
- 1:30:32So huge props to my lady's led by of course, Amelia so strong.
- 1:30:44But you know, Victoria agging Greta for a trio, Azaria Purdy,
- 1:30:52and of course, My field events coordinator AKA jumps in all
- 1:31:01other things specialist, mr. TJ Harris.
- 1:31:06She say, you are doing a hell of a job, sir.
- 1:31:10And, you know, 1337, 12:30 1205 and 1167 number three in the
- 1:31:19country for now. And we're definitely going to
- 1:31:21keep trying to push that up to number one.
- 1:31:23So, On there. I'm very proud of.
- 1:31:26Everybody can graduate. Congratulations ladies and a
- 1:31:30Sprint crew. We're in there.
- 1:31:33We ain't number three. We ain't top five.
- 1:31:35So we got some work to do. Today, the day that record is
- 1:31:42National woman's girls, girls, women's and sports day.
- 1:31:46Just general blanket statement of thanks for everyone who has
- 1:31:50paved the path and will follow the path in regards to female
- 1:31:55and Athletics females in athletics, because I wouldn't be
- 1:31:59who I am where I am today without it.
- 1:32:01So Or without them. Sorry properly spoken.
- 1:32:12I think now. I know why.
- 1:32:14Why demanded that I go last Well, as to not be embarrassing,
- 1:32:22I guess I'll I'll just jump right to it.
- 1:32:25My, my heart beat drops. This weekend is this week is
- 1:32:30twofold, because I think there are two very permanent prominent
- 1:32:34things that need to be discussed National women in sports day and
- 1:32:40the beginning of Black history month.
- 1:32:46So I'm going to start so as not to end on this and be
- 1:32:50embarrassing but I'm going to start with national woman's as
- 1:32:53women to sports day. And this person has no idea that
- 1:32:57I'm going this route but I literally I have nose.
- 1:33:04And it. This is what the note says to,
- 1:33:10for National women, in sport day.
- 1:33:14It's what said, what it says chew for National women in sport
- 1:33:19day. This is so, I wouldn't forget
- 1:33:20what I wanted to say. We give we give our lovely Big
- 1:33:28League, Chew a lot of crap, sometimes, but I need people to
- 1:33:33understand this much. being one of one is insanely difficult and
- 1:33:44it is lonely and honorable and all those other floury terms,
- 1:33:58but when you just say it out loud, Female.
- 1:34:07Asian. Non power 5 athlete.
- 1:34:15Power 5. Speed and power coach.
- 1:34:22It kind of puts it all in perspective.
- 1:34:25Like look let's be clear. Big leagues.
- 1:34:28My homie. Love her to death, always will.
- 1:34:32But I had to take today to give part of my heart.
- 1:34:38Be props to somebody who is one of one.
- 1:34:44Like it's very rare. You can say to somebody find the
- 1:34:48one of one at the meet. You can't be wrong.
- 1:34:53But if you go to a track meet, and you go find, like the
- 1:34:57Chinese shit coached in the coaching, the combined events in
- 1:35:00the Sprints and stuff like that, like yeah, your you got her?
- 1:35:03That's her. The one you were sent over me.
- 1:35:16All of my baseball guys. You know, they're not on this
- 1:35:19show but trust me they will all tell you like the Wednesday
- 1:35:23workouts that they do with this wonderful person who in her
- 1:35:27side, hustle is making baseball players better.
- 1:35:33They call it choose violence and, and all Wednesday night
- 1:35:37that I like, I know. And on Wednesdays, they are
- 1:35:41deathly afraid of what the five foot five inch.
- 1:35:44Chinese lady has for them. So, I'm going to give probably
- 1:35:50somewhat embarrassing for her props to somebody who is listen
- 1:35:55folks, there are very few people that you'll ever meet in your
- 1:35:57entire life were one of one. And you need to understand that
- 1:36:02That person is a Vanguard. That person is brave person is
- 1:36:06courageous person has broad shoulders.
- 1:36:09That person takes a lot of scuse.
- 1:36:11My language takes a lot of shit. To be who they are every day.
- 1:36:17so, I'm going to give 50% of my heartbeat props tonight on
- 1:36:23National women in sports day to the only one of one, I know in
- 1:36:27women's sports Big League, Chew Thanks.
- 1:36:34My other half as addressing the Black History Month.
- 1:36:39Is I'm going to try to educate folks over the four weeks that I
- 1:36:42get the chance to do so and during this month.
- 1:36:45And so I'm going to tell you this in 1971, the first and only
- 1:36:51time this has ever happened. There were two African-American
- 1:36:55pitchers who started the All-Star Game in Major League,
- 1:36:58Baseball, Dock, Ellis, and Vitae blue, and it's in Spain to that
- 1:37:03happening. 71 because I want to say that 51 years ago.
- 1:37:10Am I doing the right? Yes, thank you. 52 years now and
- 1:37:15that's insane. that it's happened once ever so in 52
- 1:37:20years since they're still hasn't happened, but That's one of the
- 1:37:26more important moments to ever happen in baseball.
- 1:37:29And people, don't even really remember it.
- 1:37:30Because what people most of the most, remember from the 71 World
- 1:37:33Series is, that's the World Series.
- 1:37:34Reggie Jackson hit a home run off of Dock Ellis to hit the,
- 1:37:39the, the Transformer on the top of the, on the roof of the, of
- 1:37:43the Tiger Stadium. It's like one of the most
- 1:37:45ridiculous home runs ever hit by anybody, but I want people to
- 1:37:49understand that, you know, on this first week of Black History
- 1:37:52Month The one of one that did happen that I want people to
- 1:37:57understand is that there were at one point time to
- 1:38:00African-American starting pitchers in the All-Star Game.
- 1:38:03And as much as baseball, it's not necessarily systematically
- 1:38:07trying to trying to get African-Americans out of the
- 1:38:11game. There they make up a tiny
- 1:38:15portion of this point. It's a lot of brown faces, most
- 1:38:18of the brown faces speak Spanish as their first language and in
- 1:38:22trying to keep Some brown and baseball and some brown American
- 1:38:27and baseball, it takes a village.
- 1:38:30And so if there's anything that, you know, Young Folks should be
- 1:38:36striving to do is like be the next African-American starter in
- 1:38:40a Major League, All-Star game. So that's my harpie props for
- 1:38:44tonight and We're going to continue working very hard to
- 1:38:51make this place better for all of our kids.
- 1:38:55Well concern, good job. Kudos with that said can we
- 1:39:02rename you? One of 1/2 make a cooler name on
- 1:39:07that that's too many words big leagues.
- 1:39:09Pretty pretty cool. You had a big league AKA one of
- 1:39:14one. It's pretty funny.
- 1:39:16I'll make it short, since we've gone over the longer during an
- 1:39:20unofficial visit this weekend. They asked because I have a pack
- 1:39:24of Big League Chew gum, but it's not, that has the female on it
- 1:39:29and so, like, I bought it in Vegas.
- 1:39:30I think five years ago, I probably even longer than that
- 1:39:33now and so, I keep it. It's obviously never been
- 1:39:36opened. It just sits there.
- 1:39:37And that one of the parents just like, why Big League Chew.
- 1:39:40And so I went through the whole Whole conversation of how we got
- 1:39:43two Big League Chew, and how it actually started in fantasy
- 1:39:45football and basketball. But while I was speaking, I
- 1:39:48didn't realize that one of the parents actually went and
- 1:39:51YouTube Athletics LLC and I heard the theme song come on
- 1:39:55during I was like, oh, that's our song.
- 1:39:59Anyways, that was pretty funny. So with that said, we wish sir
- 1:40:04lucious and the governor well and hope to see them next week,
- 1:40:09safe travels to everyone traveling.
- 1:40:11And You know, if you're leaving North Texas, God bless you.
- 1:40:14His you know, we're all hanging on by a thread right now.
- 1:40:17Hoping we all watch out for that half inch of snow.
- 1:40:19We got crime mini you ever want. If you want to vent, I'm here
- 1:40:23because I'm been living it. So, with that said, stay locked
- 1:40:28in at this point. Have a great weekend, everyone,
- 1:40:34and we hope to see you next week.
- 1:40:35Bye now. Would you like to come on?
- 1:40:38Do not stick to running with the Mike.
- 1:40:40Come on.
