- 0:27Speaker 2: A man who doesn't pay his bills. We'll get to that.
- 0:30Speaker 1: The OG football show is killing it.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It features Stink, Merrill Hodge, Damian Woody.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It's available every Monday throughout the NFL season on YouTube

- 0:45Speaker 1: You paying your bills not going so great. You were
- 0:47Speaker 1: supposed to join us Monday. What happened to you, Trey Wingo?
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yeah, first of all, always good to be with you.
- 0:53Speaker 4: And it's all part of the Wingo network on YouTube
- 0:55Speaker 4: where you also get the inside football, this Trey Wingo show,
- 0:59Speaker 4: Straight Facts Only podcast and Trey Wingo Golf.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Check it out. Things are going great. So here's what happened.
- 1:04Speaker 4: We're all set up to do this Monday, right? So
- 1:06Speaker 4: I get in here, everything's set up, ready to roll.
- 1:07Speaker 4: And I'm in the room with you guys. And all
- 1:09Speaker 4: of a sudden, my internet goes down. I'm like, I
- 1:12Speaker 4: got to reroute the reboot the router of the motor.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So I do that for like 15, 20 minutes. Nothing
- 1:18Speaker 3: is happening.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Now, there was a freak October 2011 snowstorm up here
- 1:22Speaker 4: on the East Coast where we all lived near the
- 1:26Speaker 4: studios in Bristol. We lost power for like two weeks.
- 1:29Speaker 3: It was brutal.
- 1:30Speaker 4: At that time, I had the good fortune of staying
- 1:32Speaker 4: in a hotel that had Wi-Fi with a guy who
- 1:36Speaker 4: was the VP of sales at Comcast. So we became friends.
- 1:40Speaker 4: So I texted him and said, hey, dude, something's wrong.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I got no cable. I got no internet. I'm trying
- 1:46Speaker 4: to reboot it.
- 1:46Speaker 3: What's going on? He goes, let me check. He said,
- 1:49Speaker 3: they cut it off because you missed a payment.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I've been paying these guys out the wazoo for 15
- 1:58Speaker 4: fricking years.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I missed one payment in August. Snip, snip. Yes. So
- 2:04Speaker 3: we got it fixed.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I paid the late charges and everything.
- 2:08Speaker 3: All good. Nothing but love for my folks at Comcast Xfinity.
- 2:12Speaker 3: But I was like, damn, that was harsh.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You would figure a guy with this many shows would
- 2:16Speaker 1: have no trouble paying the bills.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I mean. Just a lapse on my part. We had
- 2:21Speaker 3: moving parts. The kids came home. I went out to
- 2:24Speaker 3: see my parents. All this kind of stuff was going on. Right.
- 2:27Speaker 1: The definition of what have you done for me lately?
- 2:29Speaker 1: I mean, like.
- 2:34Speaker 3: How about what you have until this date to make
- 2:37Speaker 3: the payment? Just saying. Just saying. But it's all good.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Everything is working.
- 2:42Speaker 4: And all my fiduciary responsibilities have been taken care of.
- 2:46Speaker 1: What a week one, by the way. I know we're
- 2:48Speaker 1: on to week two already. We have a big game tonight.
- 2:51Speaker 1: But how was your week one? I think the scoring
- 2:54Speaker 1: average for the games was 49.5 points. per game, which
- 2:58Speaker 1: tied the NFL record. What a week one, Trey.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and actually, 25 points per game was the highest
- 3:06Speaker 4: scoring week one we've ever had since the AFL-NFL merger
- 3:09Speaker 4: of 1970. And we had 10 teams score at least
- 3:12Speaker 4: 30 points when you count the Kansas City Chiefs putting
- 3:15Speaker 4: that ass whooping on the Denver Broncos on Monday night, 31-10. Look,
- 3:20Speaker 4: there were only a couple of games that surprised me.
- 3:24Speaker 4: The Chargers laying an egg against the Cardinals at home,
- 3:27Speaker 4: total surprise. I really thought that the Chargers could be
- 3:33Speaker 4: that team.
- 3:33Speaker 3: And look, it's only week one.
- 3:34Speaker 4: The Texans lost their first three games last year, went
- 3:36Speaker 4: on to win 12 games and made the playoffs. So
- 3:40Speaker 4: we always have these overreactions in week one. But that
- 3:42Speaker 4: was an egg that the Chargers laid.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And there's no excuse for it. There's no excuse for it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: That was the shocker to me.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I went out on a limb before the season started
- 3:51Speaker 4: and said, sleep on Kansas City all you want. You're
- 3:54Speaker 4: telling me they have Patrick Mahomes back and Andy Reid.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Now they have a running game and they're going to
- 3:57Speaker 4: be terrible. I'm just not buying it. And I thought
- 4:00Speaker 4: that win on Monday night was a statement game for
- 4:02Speaker 4: Kansas City because.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Everybody they drafted. Played well. Everybody, they didn't draft and sign.
- 4:08Speaker 4: That kid Khalil Benson who played left tackle, hadn't played
- 4:11Speaker 4: a snap in college at left tackle, held his own
- 4:13Speaker 4: against a great defensive line. They redid the entire secondary.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Not a single starter from last year on Kansas City's
- 4:20Speaker 4: secondary was back. They shut down Bo Nix with Jalen
- 4:22Speaker 4: Waddell and Cortland Sutton, and Kenneth Walker was an absolute beast.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Trey, we just had Booger McFarlane on, and he said
- 4:29Speaker 5: there's no bigger liar than week one in the NFL.
- 4:32Speaker 5: But with all these overreactions, I'm curious, what's your favorite
- 4:36Speaker 5: overreaction that we're all experiencing this week?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Oh, I think that the Rams are done.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Booger did say that.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Say hello to the champion. Wait, hold on. Say hello
- 4:45Speaker 3: to the champion of that. But hold on.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Later on in the interview, Booger did say he would
- 4:48Speaker 1: be concerned about the Rams.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm just letting you know.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Here's what I'll say. I think the Rams.
- 4:56Speaker 4: knew that there was a 50-50 shot that what they
- 4:58Speaker 4: were going to try and do in Australia wasn't going
- 5:00Speaker 4: to work. But they wanted to make sure they were
- 5:03Speaker 4: ready for the rest of the season. Have you seen
- 5:05Speaker 4: Kyle Shanahan's press conference the last couple of days?
- 5:06Speaker 3: No. He is like, I don't know which end is up.
- 5:10Speaker 3: I don't know what time it is.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Having made that trip myself a couple of times and
- 5:14Speaker 4: come back, the back end is way more difficult than
- 5:17Speaker 4: the front end.
- 5:17Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Now look, there are concerns for the Rams when you
- 5:21Speaker 4: see Myles Garrett's going to miss four games. Aaron Donald
- 5:23Speaker 4: didn't play. Matthew Stafford played poorly in that game. But
- 5:26Speaker 4: you look by the middle of that third quarter, they
- 5:28Speaker 4: were gassed. They just had nothing. The travel got to them.
- 5:32Speaker 4: I think they were willing to say, okay, we don't
- 5:35Speaker 4: want to mess up three weeks for one week. And
- 5:37Speaker 4: since we have no definitive evidence one way or the
- 5:40Speaker 4: other that one way is better than the other, let's
- 5:42Speaker 4: just see what happens if we do it this way.
- 5:44Speaker 3: And it didn't work out for them.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Trey, what's your level of worry with the Green Bay Packers,
- 5:49Speaker 6: who are now 0-6 in games where Micah Parson not
- 5:53Speaker 6: on the field?
- 5:54Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Well, not only that, no Josh Jacobs and no running
- 5:57Speaker 4: game that they can rely on. A lot of what
- 6:01Speaker 4: Jordan Love did the last couple of seasons, they relied
- 6:06Speaker 4: on that running game to open up throwing lanes.
- 6:08Speaker 3: He completed, what, 50% of his passes?
- 6:10Speaker 4: And they couldn't hold off a team that they had
- 6:13Speaker 4: a 12-point lead on in the second half who was playing.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Their backup quarterback in Carson Wentz.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I would say there are legit concerns in Green Bay
- 6:20Speaker 4: because how they want to structure that offense is let's
- 6:23Speaker 4: get the running game going, and that will open up
- 6:26Speaker 4: the passing game.
- 6:27Speaker 3: They didn't have a running game, and the passing game
- 6:29Speaker 3: was never there.
- 6:30Speaker 4: And Brian Flores, you know, people were giving him grief
- 6:32Speaker 4: for all the things he was doing in the first half.
- 6:34Speaker 3: It worked in the second half. They just wore him down.
- 6:38Speaker 4: I think they became one of the few teams ever
- 6:41Speaker 4: in NFL history to be up by 12 and lose
- 6:44Speaker 4: by 17. Crazy, right? I mean, you just don't do
- 6:48Speaker 4: that that often in the NFL. And Carson Wentz became
- 6:51Speaker 4: the second– backup quarterback for Minnesota to throw three touchdowns
- 6:56Speaker 4: and no interceptions in his debut. The last guy to
- 6:59Speaker 4: do it was Fran Tarkenton who did it in his
- 7:01Speaker 4: first game in the history of the Vikings franchise.
- 7:05Speaker 2: And now the Packers run into that juggernaut, the New
- 7:07Speaker 2: York jets. I mean, how about that?
- 7:10Speaker 3: Listen, I'll tell you this.
- 7:11Speaker 4: I loved what I saw from your jets.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I get it.
- 7:15Speaker 4: They look like a team. They look like they had
- 7:18Speaker 4: a plan. They were buttoned up. They knew what they
- 7:20Speaker 4: wanted to execute and they did it.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Uh, For the first time in my memory since Rex
- 7:25Speaker 4: Ryan was there, the Jets are not definitively the worst
- 7:28Speaker 4: team in their own division.
- 7:29Speaker 3: That is squarely on the Miami Dolphins.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And by the way, what the Dolphins are doing, and
- 7:34Speaker 4: I'm sure you guys know this, players can't tank, organizations
- 7:38Speaker 4: can tank. The Dolphins are tanking this season. Now, they'll
- 7:41Speaker 4: try and– the coach has to win games, but two things.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Their top five top paid players are all playing– on
- 7:48Speaker 4: other teams, and Tua's salary this year that the Dolphins
- 7:52Speaker 4: are paying is more than every other starter on their offense.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That's how organizations tank.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Ryan Fitzpatrick said yesterday he thinks the Dolphins could go 0-17.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Do you agree?
- 8:03Speaker 4: Well, I asked Sting because he called the Raiders-Dolphins game.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I said, that might have been a winnable game for them.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Do you think they will win another game? And he said, yes,
- 8:14Speaker 4: I think they'll pick off one or two. Look, it
- 8:16Speaker 4: could go south in a hurry for them. And they're
- 8:19Speaker 4: not even hiding it.
- 8:21Speaker 3: They know that they're all on the 2027 draft.
- 8:24Speaker 4: And my only thing is if you do that, that's fine.
- 8:26Speaker 4: But then don't fire the coach because he didn't win. Like,
- 8:29Speaker 4: that's ridiculous. You're setting this coach up to not win.
- 8:32Speaker 4: And then you can't after the season, well, he didn't win.
- 8:35Speaker 3: You didn't want him to win.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Like, you didn't want him to win.
- 8:38Speaker 4: They're not as blatant as they were a few years
- 8:40Speaker 4: ago with Bland Flores when allegedly, reportedly– supposedly they were
- 8:44Speaker 4: offering bribes for him to lose games, but you know,
- 8:47Speaker 4: you are putting this guy in a position.
- 8:49Speaker 3: To not win games. So you can't fire him if
- 8:51Speaker 3: he doesn't win.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Troy, we mentioned the Jets earlier. And one of the
- 8:54Speaker 6: teams that the Jets fans are keeping an eye on
- 8:56Speaker 6: this year is the Colts because of that sauce Gardner
- 8:59Speaker 6: getting that first round pick. I think everybody just kind
- 9:02Speaker 6: of assumed that Daniel Jones would bounce back after that
- 9:05Speaker 6: Achilles injury, but are the Colts in trouble or were
- 9:07Speaker 6: the Ravens just that good?
- 9:10Speaker 4: Well, Yeah, Declan Doyle dialed up a game, the new
- 9:13Speaker 4: offensive coordinator for the Ravens. Look, you have to understand now,
- 9:16Speaker 4: we're talking about Derrick Henry's third all-time.
- 9:19Speaker 3: On the rushing touchdowns list, only behind Emmitt Smith and
- 9:22Speaker 3: LaDainian Tomlinson.
- 9:23Speaker 4: So we're talking about a guy who's still special at
- 9:26Speaker 4: a very, very older age, especially for that position.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I just think that the Ravens were a more physical
- 9:32Speaker 3: football team.
- 9:33Speaker 4: And if you look across the entire NFL week one,
- 9:36Speaker 4: it's really sort of a throwback to how things used
- 9:38Speaker 4: to be. running game is now sort of dictating everything else.
- 9:43Speaker 4: The Niners were certainly the more physical team. The Giants
- 9:46Speaker 4: were certainly the more physical team. The Jets were the
- 9:48Speaker 4: more physical team. I just think that the Colts got
- 9:51Speaker 4: their asses kicked on the line of scrimmage, and Lamar
- 9:53Speaker 4: Jackson did Lamar Jackson shit, for lack of a better term.
- 9:57Speaker 3: That one play where he had two guys.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Closing in on him and all he did was duck
- 10:02Speaker 3: down and run out for about 20 yards.
- 10:04Speaker 4: That's what it's like when this guy's on a heater
- 10:06Speaker 4: and when Derrick Henry is doing what he's doing, it
- 10:08Speaker 4: allows Lamar Jackson to do those things.
- 10:10Speaker 3: They feed off each other perfectly.
- 10:11Speaker 6: If you're the Colts, going from Derrick Henry to Kenneth Walker,
- 10:14Speaker 6: back-to-back games now on Sunday Night Football, Woof.
- 10:19Speaker 3: They're staring Owen too in the face. Yeah, it's good.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Because the Chiefs cannot afford, yes, as a sauce gardener,
- 10:25Speaker 4: former fan who's going to benefit from that draft pick.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Lose them all.
- 10:31Speaker 4: But, you know, the Chiefs got to start out strong.
- 10:33Speaker 4: I mean, like, you know, they had to win that
- 10:36Speaker 4: game somehow and they dominated Denver. But if they start 2-0,
- 10:40Speaker 4: then people are going.
- 10:41Speaker 3: To start thinking about the Chiefs as the Chiefs again.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I don't think– Andy Reid, the only flaw in Andy
- 10:45Speaker 4: Reid's coaching style has ever been is that he forgets about.
- 10:48Speaker 3: The running game. They ain't going to forget about that
- 10:50Speaker 3: running game with what Kenneth Walker did. People are like, well,
- 10:53Speaker 3: Holmes didn't look right. Yeah, he started 2-12.
- 10:54Speaker 4: He finished 13-15 in his first meaningful game since December 14th.
- 10:59Speaker 4: And he hardly played or practiced at all. So Mahomes
- 11:02Speaker 4: is going to get better. I think they're going to
- 11:04Speaker 4: take more shots down the field than they did against
- 11:07Speaker 4: Denver because that secondary is not one you want to
- 11:09Speaker 4: F with. But I think they'll try and hit Xavier Worthy.
- 11:12Speaker 4: They'll try and hit Rasheed Rice. Hell, Travis Kelsey had
- 11:15Speaker 4: more receiving yards than any other tight end in football
- 11:17Speaker 4: in week one, which is kind of bonkers in week
- 11:19Speaker 4: 14 if you think about it. So, yeah, as a
- 11:20Speaker 4: Jets fan, I think you should be pretty happy because
- 11:23Speaker 4: I don't think Indy has.
- 11:24Speaker 3: The horses to handle up front what the Chiefs are bringing.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Trey, I have two teams for you that are 0-1,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but despite that, I think their fan.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Well, let's see if you agree.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Should their fan bases be happy based on the results
- 11:46Speaker 1: from last week?
- 11:47Speaker 2: I'll start with the Texans. Houston Texans.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they'll be okay. I think the Texans
- 11:54Speaker 3: will be fine. Now, they got an interesting one week, too.
- 12:00Speaker 4: That's a big game coming off what you did against
- 12:03Speaker 4: the Buffalo Bills, but I will bet on that D'Amico
- 12:06Speaker 4: Ryan's coaching staff and that defense all the time.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Like that throw that Josh made to Palmer to sort
- 12:12Speaker 3: of seal the game.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Ridiculous.
- 12:14Speaker 3: It's insane. That was an artist. That was Rembrandt painting.
- 12:18Speaker 3: That's how good that throw was.
- 12:19Speaker 2: But, Trey, that's my point.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like that defense, you know that defense is going to
- 12:22Speaker 1: be good, but occasionally you'll run into Josh Allen.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He's going to put up 30-something on you.
- 12:26Speaker 1: If they score 30 every game, though, they're going to
- 12:28Speaker 1: win most of the games they play in. So why
- 12:30Speaker 1: would walk away encouraged if I'm a Texan fan?
- 12:33Speaker 3: I would agree. The only thing that concerns me is
- 12:36Speaker 3: that C.J. Stroud did the C.J.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Stroud thing when it mattered the most. He was moving
- 12:41Speaker 4: them down the field. I'm like, oh, my God, they're
- 12:44Speaker 4: going to come back and win this game. And he
- 12:45Speaker 4: takes a sack where you cannot take a sack, just
- 12:47Speaker 4: dirt it. And then he fumbles the ball again. Remember,
- 12:50Speaker 4: he had two fumbles, lost them both in this game.
- 12:53Speaker 4: He had five interceptions and five fumbles. They didn't turn
- 12:56Speaker 4: over all those fumbles in the playoff games. But in
- 12:58Speaker 4: two playoff games, five fumbles, five interceptions, two fumbles that
- 13:01Speaker 4: he gave away in that game against Buffalo.
- 13:03Speaker 3: That's the guy that's betting on himself. $ 50, $ 60.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Million a year contract. As a quarterback, you're paid for
- 13:10Speaker 4: three things, in my opinion, in the NFL. win on
- 13:12Speaker 4: third down, win in the red zone, and win in
- 13:15Speaker 4: the two-minute situation to end the first half, end of
- 13:18Speaker 4: the game. He did not win in the last two
- 13:20Speaker 4: minutes of that game, and that's the reason they lost.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The second team is the Saints, only because now they
- 13:27Speaker 1: should have won that game.
- 13:28Speaker 2: They could have won that game, but they walk away.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Their fan base walks away knowing, hey, we have a
- 13:33Speaker 1: really good young quarterback.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I mean, you have to feel good.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I do.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Merrill Hodge said it on the OG Football Show. His
- 13:40Speaker 4: breakout player this year was Tyler Shuck. And, you know,
- 13:42Speaker 4: he had a couple of interceptions early, and it looked
- 13:44Speaker 4: like the Lions were going to roll.
- 13:46Speaker 3: But they kept fighting. They kept battling. I like what
- 13:49Speaker 3: I see out of Tyler Shuck. You have Olave.
- 13:51Speaker 4: You have Juwan Jefferson– Juwan Jennings, excuse me, who was
- 13:55Speaker 4: a corner wide receiver.
- 13:56Speaker 3: He was blown up, and now he's a really good
- 13:58Speaker 3: mobile tight end.
- 14:00Speaker 4: If you're New Orleans in a division that is very winnable,
- 14:03Speaker 4: the NFC South, I think you have to feel pretty
- 14:05Speaker 4: good about things. Yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Staying in the NFC South, is there a chance that
- 14:09Speaker 6: the Panthers are sneaky good and they just ran into
- 14:11Speaker 6: the best offense of all time?
- 14:15Speaker 3: It's a great question.
- 14:17Speaker 4: They kind of snuck into the playoffs last year. That
- 14:20Speaker 4: defense is problematic.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not convinced one way or the
- 14:27Speaker 3: other on Carolina. But you mentioned the Bears. Guys, that
- 14:31Speaker 3: was an effortless 59 points. I know. It was effortless.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I know. Caleb only threw it 29 times. Crazy.
- 14:37Speaker 4: And I think of his eight completions, I'm certain four
- 14:40Speaker 4: of them were just throwaways.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Nothing there. We'll just love to fight another day.
- 14:44Speaker 4: If you're trying to face the Bears, the scariest thing
- 14:47Speaker 4: you'll see is that they can play bully ball now.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Menangai and both DeAndre Swift were beasts on the ground.
- 14:54Speaker 4: They both had over 100 yards. Now you throw that
- 14:57Speaker 4: in with a guy like Caleb, who is now hitting
- 14:59Speaker 4: the singles. And we've talked about this before. Hey, his
- 15:01Speaker 4: home runs are always there. They're unbelievable. He completed 57%
- 15:04Speaker 4: of his throws last year. He was 21 of 29,
- 15:06Speaker 4: and again, I think four of those incompletions were just
- 15:08Speaker 4: dirtying him to live to fight another day. If he's
- 15:11Speaker 4: sitting 68 to 67, 65% of his throws with that
- 15:15Speaker 4: running game, they will be impossible to stop. Now, their
- 15:19Speaker 4: defense is really bad, so they're going to have to
- 15:21Speaker 4: outscore everybody, but I think that Bears offense is capable
- 15:24Speaker 4: of a lot of things.
- 15:26Speaker 3: We'll see what they do against Minnesota and that Brian
- 15:28Speaker 3: Flores-led defense.
- 15:29Speaker 4: But I think that there's a legitimate concern that that
- 15:33Speaker 4: offense could be the best offensive football this year.
- 15:36Speaker 1: If we're drafting NFL coaches, how long do you go
- 15:38Speaker 1: before you take Ben Johnson?
- 15:40Speaker 4: Well, when he goes forward on a fourth and whatever
- 15:43Speaker 4: from his own 21.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Negative points, I'm sorry, guys.
- 15:47Speaker 4: We've got to get over this ridiculous sickness that field
- 15:50Speaker 4: goals and puntings.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Are a measles outbreak. It's not. Those are good times.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Any drive that ends in a kick is a positive drive.
- 16:00Speaker 4: So I just, you know, I love Ben Johnson, but
- 16:04Speaker 4: at some point, that shit's going to bite them in
- 16:06Speaker 4: the ass. And I feel like it bit them in
- 16:08Speaker 4: the ass in the playoff game against the Rams last year.
- 16:10Speaker 4: If they kick those two field goals instead of going
- 16:12Speaker 4: for it, they need a field goal to win at
- 16:15Speaker 4: the end of the game instead of a touchdown to
- 16:16Speaker 4: tie and send it into overtime.
- 16:18Speaker 3: This is not difficult. I don't know why people run
- 16:21Speaker 3: away from this concept.
- 16:22Speaker 2: If I had that quarterback, though, I'd be tempted as well.
- 16:24Speaker 1: If we're drafting quarterbacks, okay, for the next 15 years,
- 16:28Speaker 1: this guy is going to be your starting quarterback.
- 16:30Speaker 2: How far are you going before you get to Caleb Williams?
- 16:32Speaker 2: He's one, right? He has to be one.
- 16:34Speaker 3: He's I agree. I mean, I think with the progression
- 16:38Speaker 3: we've seen, first.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Of all, from getting real coaching, despite the going four
- 16:41Speaker 4: to fourth down, from year one to year two, and
- 16:44Speaker 4: now the running game that he has and the progression
- 16:46Speaker 4: he's made, understanding that completing passes like on second and
- 16:50Speaker 4: five and third and four are really good things if
- 16:52Speaker 4: you need to, I think you would start with Caleb
- 16:55Speaker 4: at this point.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Trey, have we entered the territory where John Harbaugh is
- 16:58Speaker 6: now underrated as a coach? Because that Giants team, I'm
- 17:01Speaker 6: not sure if anybody thought the culture change would be
- 17:03Speaker 6: this quick.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Um, look, I don't think John Harbaugh is underrated. I
- 17:08Speaker 4: don't know how much I take out of that game.
- 17:10Speaker 4: It was nine 11 Sunday or Sunday after nine 11,
- 17:15Speaker 4: 25 years later in New York emotions, extremely high. The
- 17:17Speaker 4: Cowboys had a very young defense out there. They apparently
- 17:21Speaker 4: didn't understand how to cover things in the flat. Like,
- 17:24Speaker 4: you know, Jackson dart did an amazing thing. Like, Take
- 17:27Speaker 4: a profit. You never go broke taking a profit. There's
- 17:29Speaker 4: a guy wide open. I mean, they weren't NFL open.
- 17:32Speaker 4: They were college open. That's how open these receivers and
- 17:35Speaker 4: Isaiah likely was in the flat all the time. There
- 17:37Speaker 4: were a ton of busted coverages by the Dallas Cowboys
- 17:40Speaker 4: with a very young defensive play caller, Christian Parker, a
- 17:43Speaker 4: lot of young players on defense. I kudos to the Giants.
- 17:47Speaker 4: They were the more physical team. I just I think
- 17:50Speaker 4: Dallas can play.
- 17:50Speaker 3: A lot better.
- 17:52Speaker 4: If I'm a Cowboys fan, though, the thing that concerns
- 17:54Speaker 4: me is George Pickens was a no-show.
- 17:56Speaker 3: He had two catches and a couple of big drops.
- 18:00Speaker 4: CD is a real wide receiver one, and this is
- 18:03Speaker 4: why George Pickens is on a one-year prove-it deal.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Would you be surprised if the Giants beat the Rams
- 18:08Speaker 1: this weekend? It seems like you would be.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I think so. I think the Rams.
- 18:14Speaker 4: need to announce their presence with authority, for lack of
- 18:17Speaker 4: a better term, like Eddie Calvin, the greatest sports movie,
- 18:20Speaker 4: all time bull Durham. And I think getting Aaron Donald back,
- 18:24Speaker 4: there will be some energy in that, in that building
- 18:26Speaker 4: and in that game.
- 18:27Speaker 3: And I, I think the Rams come correct this weekend.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I try. It feels that we were discussing this yesterday.
- 18:32Speaker 1: It's a great Thursday night game tonight, but it feels
- 18:35Speaker 1: a little early for a Bill's lions tilt.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Does it not?
- 18:38Speaker 4: I mean, Yeah, I mean, this is, you know, if
- 18:41Speaker 4: you're a schedule maker, you want this in December on
- 18:43Speaker 4: your network.
- 18:44Speaker 3: This is unbelievable. Just to give how.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Understand how important home field advantages as the Bills break
- 18:51Speaker 4: in a new stadium over the last 50 games, the
- 18:54Speaker 4: Bills and the Lions are tied for the best playoff.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Home field advantage, 36-14. We'll see if that transfers over
- 19:01Speaker 3: into a new building.
- 19:02Speaker 4: But the Bills have really had the Lions number. They've
- 19:04Speaker 4: won five straight over the Lions. The last time the
- 19:09Speaker 4: Lions beat the Bills was week six of the 2006
- 19:13Speaker 4: season when Lions head coach Dan Campbell was a playing
- 19:17Speaker 4: tight end for the Detroit Lions. That's how long it's
- 19:20Speaker 4: been since the Lions have beaten the Bills.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Mikey.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Too many people are saying we look competent, and we'll
- 19:27Speaker 1: take it. I mean, I don't need to look good.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I just need to be organized, and we look organized.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I mean, this is amazing.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I like being competent.
- 19:35Speaker 5: I don't like everybody saying we look competent.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Just look away. Just look away. It's called optimism. You
- 19:41Speaker 3: guys haven't had a lot of it lately. I don't
- 19:43Speaker 3: know what that is. You're speaking another language.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Mikey said he'd be happy if the season ended yesterday.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I mean, he's just happy.
- 19:49Speaker 3: He's 1-1.
- 19:50Speaker 2: He can't go 1-1 if the season ends today, you know?
- 19:52Speaker 3: I was about to say, like, just end the season
- 19:55Speaker 3: has a whole new meaning on it.
- 19:57Speaker 4: Stop on the 1-0.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Winners!
- 19:58Speaker 2: Winners! All right, Trey, get out of here.
- 20:02Speaker 1: The OG Football Show featuring Stink, Merrill Hodge, Damian Woody.
- 20:06Speaker 2: It's available every Monday throughout the NFL season on YouTube.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And wherever you get your podcasts, we appreciate it.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Enjoy week two. And hopefully we'll talk to you again
- 20:13Speaker 2: next week.
- 20:15Speaker 3: And, guys, pay your bills. You pay yours.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Mine are fine.
- 20:21Speaker 3: That's fair. That's completely fair. That one's on me.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Thank you, buddy. We appreciate it.
- 20:27Speaker 3: You got it, guys. See you.
- 20:28Speaker 2: All right. See you, Troy. Thanks, Troy.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Anytime, guys. Love you guys.
- 20:31Speaker 2: See you, man.
