print on. Welcome to 70x80, the section of 7080
• 1:15
.it that deepens the topics discussed on the
• 1:19
portal. I'm with the journalist Enzo Mauri, who
• 1:22
introduces today's topic. Good morning, today
• 1:24
I'm talking to you about a historical TV series.
• 1:27
The lovers of the genre certainly remember how
• 1:29
in the Mission Impossible TV series appeared
• 1:31
some well -known faces of science fiction movies,
• 1:35
from Martin Landau and his partner in real life
• 1:37
Barbara Bain, future protagonists of Space in
• 1:40
1999, to Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner, respectively
• 1:44
Signor Spock and Captain James Kirk of Star Trek.
• 2:02
Belzig offers to help anyone who has money and
• 2:05
wishes to escape to the West. The mission, should
• 2:42
you decide to accept it, is to stop Belzig. and
• 2:45
prevent the over three million dollars which
• 2:47
he has appropriated from falling into the hands
• 2:49
of his new nazi party Initially produced by Bruce
• 3:15
Gellar, Mission Impossible told the stories of
• 3:18
a small team of government agents from the United
• 3:20
  States, employed against hostile governments,
• 3:23
dictators of the Third World and all kinds of
• 3:25
crime. At the time it was, in fact, a super production
• 3:28
at the cost of 225 thousand dollars per episode,
• 3:31
which involved up to 30 % more work than a traditional
• 3:35
series. Originally the only full -time component
• 3:38
of the AMMF would have had to be the leader Dan
• 3:41
Briggs, the actor Stephen Hill, replaced by the
• 3:43
second season by Jim Phelps, the actor Peter
• 3:46
Greaves. The idea was that the other agents were
• 4:06
hired part -time, that is, recruited based on
• 4:08
the characteristics of each mission. In fact,
• 4:11
the choice always fell on the same names. In
• 4:13
the early seasons, the protagonists of Mission
• 4:15
Impossible were the top model and actress Cinnamon
• 4:18
Carter, Barbara Bain, the genius of electronics
• 4:21
Bernard Barney Collier, Greg Morris, the bodybuilder
• 4:24
William Willie Armitage, Peter Lupus, and the
• 4:27
man of a thousand faces, Roland Hand, Martin
• 4:29
Landau. At the premiere of Mission Impossible,
• 4:32
the production was put on hold. Will it work
• 5:02
as well on the camera guaranteed now the bank
• 5:06
is built like a fortress security guards everywhere
• 5:09
closed circuit television a surveillance room
• 5:11
and a silent alarm system that cannot be disconnected
• 5:13
but we're not breaking in oh that's too bad Other
• 5:18
new entries were Dr. Douglas Robert Lang, the
• 5:21
actor Sam Elliott, Tracy, the actress Lee Meriwether,
• 5:24
and occasionally Melanie Mimi Davis, the actress
• 5:26
Barbara Anderson. The latex masks, which reminded
• 5:29
a lot of one of the peculiarities of our Diabolic,
• 5:32
represented the speciality of the agent Roland
• 5:35
Hand, with whom he could take on the appearance
• 5:38
of anyone he wanted. Being in reality the same
• 5:40
actor to play his double, it was not very clear
• 5:43
how Hand managed to replicate even the physical
• 5:46
aspect. Starting from the fifth season, with
• 5:48
the new producer Bruce Lesbury for reasons of
• 5:50
cost, international missions began to be eliminated.
• 5:54
The IMF was more committed to facing local crime,
• 5:58
in particular an organization called Syndacato.
• 6:01
In the episode Anni Rugenti, second of the sixth
• 6:04
season, the actor William Shatner also appeared
• 6:07
in the role of an old mobster. Between 1988 and
• 6:10
1990, two new seasons of Mission Impossible were
• 6:15
made, broadcast in Italy with the title of The
• 6:17
Return of Mission Impossible. The completely
• 6:19
renewed MMF still saw the command Jim Phelps,
• 6:23
always interpreted by Peter Graves. Thanks to
• 6:26
Enzo Mauri for the today's theme. See you next
• 6:28
