- 1:33Speaker 1: a slid.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Oh leak our fucking chat just to show the world

- 1:50Speaker 2: all the unhinged ship that this man over here, uh
- 1:53Speaker 2: says to me. Also, Okay, he's usually the one that
- 1:57Speaker 2: starts off our conversations with hell, Like I'll be buying
- 2:01Speaker 2: my business and I'll get a random message from him
- 2:03Speaker 2: and it's just how I mean, he starts it.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I don't there's no starts. I can confirm. I cannot
- 2:14Speaker 1: confirm nor deny that I started.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You know when people say that can either confirm nor deny.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I can confirm it is confirmed, So.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I cannot I play the fifth anyway. Maybe you look

- 3:24Speaker 2: the first time, Hi, hello, welcome to this is book watchers.
- 3:26Speaker 2: My name is Jacob all right, and then, of course
- 3:29Speaker 2: I'm joined with this lovely man Devi, oh my god,
- 3:33Speaker 2: who bullies me relentlessly.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh eye bully girl. Please. I am I'm an angel,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I am a saint. I am the best person, the
- 3:46Speaker 1: best thing in your life outside your boyfriend. So you
- 3:51Speaker 1: know you don't want all the smoke. You don't want
- 3:55Speaker 1: how the smoke. I'm just saying, mm hmm. Yeah, I'm Devon.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gay.
- 4:04Speaker 1: As a ginger game who.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Is now playing a super mutant in the In the
- 4:08Speaker 2: Fallout t t RPG that we.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Just started, I thought I was gonna look snatched, but
- 4:13Speaker 1: I was not look like I got I look like
- 4:15Speaker 1: I got snatched. My hair snatched.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah. So, so here's the thing we whenever we play
- 4:23Speaker 2: a T t RPG, h are my cousin who is
- 4:27Speaker 2: our who's typically the d M for our game for
- 4:29Speaker 2: the different games we play, like, we mainly played D
- 4:31Speaker 2: and D with him, and he's mainly the DM for
- 4:34Speaker 2: D and D, but sometimes we'll play a T t
- 4:36Speaker 2: RPG outside of the D and D like games like
- 4:39Speaker 2: Bold Gods of Appalachia, the new Marvel Multiverse U T
- 4:44Speaker 2: t RPG. We played the beta while it was out,
- 4:46Speaker 2: like while still be developed. I wasn't a big fan.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I wasn't a big fan of it because I wanted
- 4:51Speaker 2: to be a mutant, but the mutant like power sets
- 4:54Speaker 2: weren't like fully fleshed out, like you had templates you
- 4:56Speaker 2: can go off of, but it weren't like it wasn't
- 4:59Speaker 2: what I what I was going for. So I didn't
- 5:02Speaker 2: enjoy particularly enjoy. And we're playing on doing it again
- 5:05Speaker 2: with the actual like rule book. So but either way
- 5:09Speaker 2: we well, recently we just started the Fallout T t
- 5:13Speaker 2: RPG with and he. So Devin is playing a super
- 5:18Speaker 2: mutant and I'm playing a Vault dweller, and so think
- 5:22Speaker 2: about super mutants is that they are completely hairless, and
- 5:26Speaker 2: so Devin basically loses his beard because we're Beat because
- 5:31Speaker 2: in this game, and also in the other and some
- 5:34Speaker 2: of the other games we played, we decided to just
- 5:36Speaker 2: literally play ourselves where like okay, what if? Like these
- 5:39Speaker 2: are like literally just us. It's just our character. I
- 5:43Speaker 2: know it's not very creative, but it's still fun and
- 5:45Speaker 2: it's funny. Like what would you be? What would you be?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Like in Fallout, I'm like, all right, cool, Well, I'm
- 5:50Speaker 2: a Vault dweller. Basically I came from Vault one eleven.
- 5:54Speaker 2: For those of you who don't know, Vault one eleven
- 5:56Speaker 2: is the vault where the people go in and get
- 5:58Speaker 2: frozen and yeah, like they sleep. They sleep out the
- 6:03Speaker 2: apocalypse and wait for the day that it's okay to
- 6:06Speaker 2: come out. And then Devin is a super mutant who
- 6:11Speaker 2: like lives through the apocalypse and because super mutants don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: really age, they're functionally immortal, like biologically immortal. He lived
- 6:16Speaker 2: through the whole thing. Come out of the ball all
- 6:20Speaker 2: like what the hell is going on? And he's just
- 6:22Speaker 2: there like like, what are you doing in my swamp?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah? I literally was living children as swamp. Sure I
- 6:30Speaker 1: might be I might eat my three legged cat, my
- 6:34Speaker 1: three leggy cat by because I had to survive, and
- 6:36Speaker 1: I have her lucky her lucky foot with me at
- 6:39Speaker 1: all times, but you know it's not.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And you know it's canonically not even hers.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It's it's the extra one she grew, extra one she grew,
- 6:50Speaker 1: so technically it is hers, but it's the extra one
- 6:53Speaker 1: that she magically grew when she started mutine, when my
- 6:56Speaker 1: cat start mutine. But do dereze and she's not around,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and I have her lucky foot, and I get weird
- 7:03Speaker 1: looks for that, and then of course ask jer don't ask.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we're not gonna go. We don't have That's great,
- 7:14Speaker 2: but it's great. But anyway, like part of the thing
- 7:18Speaker 2: is whenever we play these games, UH will like, of
- 7:21Speaker 2: course we support artists, but we don't have the money
- 7:24Speaker 2: to pay artists to like make our characters for us.
- 7:26Speaker 2: So we use chat to like generate a to just
- 7:29Speaker 2: generate a basic like character image for us.
- 7:32Speaker 1: We're recording, We're not recording any of these or making money.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Off of them, so no, so like it's just so
- 7:38Speaker 2: that way we'd have like a little reference to go
- 7:40Speaker 2: with our character sheet. And I mean I generated mine,
- 7:42Speaker 2: and for some reason, mine made me look white like whiter,
- 7:47Speaker 2: like a full long white man. But the one that
- 7:49Speaker 2: I had to remake it so like. The final result
- 7:51Speaker 2: made me look buff for some reason, but still I
- 7:54Speaker 2: liked it. But for the one that my cousin made
- 7:58Speaker 2: for Devin made one. It made him look like an orc.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He look like a half of a or like a
- 8:04Speaker 1: full orc.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Just as soon as I thought that, immediately screamed, what
- 8:10Speaker 2: are you doing in my swamp?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah? That's that was the joke. When I decided I
- 8:16Speaker 1: came across each other as swamp. I've seen some ship.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Oh god.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Anyway, we are years later, still friends.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah, two years later, because of course we are because
- 8:34Speaker 1: he's a puny man and he has to have a
- 8:37Speaker 1: like old mutant muscle to save his ass. Puny man anyway.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But yeah, today we are going to continue on the
- 8:50Speaker 1: Dungeon Crawler Carl series with book four.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yes we are sorry. I had to, like I just
- 8:58Speaker 2: splinter him and then needed to get out because it
- 9:00Speaker 2: was bothering me anyway. Yeah, So today, going back into
- 9:03Speaker 2: the actual reason why we're here, we are gonna be
- 9:06Speaker 2: reviewing the next book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series.
- 9:08Speaker 2: We are gonna be reviewing book four, The Gate of
- 9:12Speaker 2: the Faral Gods. Now, this one was probably one of
- 9:16Speaker 2: my favorites. It was it was definitely wacky. It was
- 9:19Speaker 2: it had the same wacky energy as any of the
- 9:21Speaker 2: other books, but it's this one is probably one of
- 9:24Speaker 2: the longest in the series, is like the longer. Yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 2: five is a lot longer. I think six is probably
- 9:32Speaker 2: gonna be like one of the longest next to book seven.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And so, of course you can get this hardcover softcover,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and of course you can get an ebook. These books
- 9:44Speaker 2: were originally released as an ebook self published by Matt Dinman,
- 9:47Speaker 2: and then of course he got picked up by Ace Publishing,
- 9:51Speaker 2: and Ace Publishing has released these hardcovers, these special edition hardcovers.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So I personally love these hardcovers, and uh, like I
- 10:02Speaker 2: bought the first one in hardcover, and of the rest
- 10:05Speaker 2: of them, I was like, I have to, I just
- 10:06Speaker 2: have to, because aside from having a cool cover like this,
- 10:11Speaker 2: they also like when you remove the sleeve, they also
- 10:13Speaker 2: have like a quote from inside the book or like
- 10:15Speaker 2: some sort of reference from the book. So this one, yeah,
- 10:21Speaker 2: that and that is a reference to something that hilariously
- 10:25Speaker 2: happens to to donut. And then of course with the
- 10:29Speaker 2: Ace hardcover editions, they do come with it with an
- 10:33Speaker 2: extra bonus chapter. Now this bonus chapter is not, uh,
- 10:39Speaker 2: this bonus chapter is not like part of like the
- 10:44Speaker 2: main story. This is actually just a little side, a
- 10:48Speaker 2: little extra side material called Backstage at the Pineapple Cabaret.
- 10:52Speaker 2: So this one so if you so, this book has
- 10:55Speaker 2: the fourth chapter in that little mini series. Uh, so
- 10:59Speaker 2: you can read that in these hardcover editions. Of course
- 11:03Speaker 2: you could probably get them online, but still that's where
- 11:06Speaker 2: they're mainly being published with. Uh so Gate of the
- 11:10Speaker 2: Farh Gods. Now this one is more like I'm gonna
- 11:15Speaker 2: be honest, like this is like this isn't like the
- 11:19Speaker 2: this is where we're like, this is the fourth book,
- 11:21Speaker 2: but they're actually on the fifth floor of the of
- 11:24Speaker 2: the Dungeon. All right. Book book one and two of
- 11:27Speaker 2: course covered the first two floors, or excusing Book one
- 11:30Speaker 2: covered the first two floors. Book two covered floor three,
- 11:34Speaker 2: which was the first of the themed floors. Uh and
- 11:37Speaker 2: then of course book yeah, Book two was book was
- 11:41Speaker 2: floor three, the first of the theme floors. Book three
- 11:45Speaker 2: was floor four, which wasn't really one of the theme floors,
- 11:48Speaker 2: it was just uh basically was of course the iron tangle,
- 11:52Speaker 2: and now we are dealing with the bubble worlds. So
- 11:57Speaker 2: these so the theme of this floor is that all
- 12:00Speaker 2: the crawlers get divided into different bubbles, so they're different
- 12:07Speaker 2: like so like all throughout the fifth floor, these are
- 12:09Speaker 2: these bubble worlds. There's like hundreds of these bubble worlds
- 12:13Speaker 2: and the crawlers are all evenly divided into them. Uh
- 12:16Speaker 2: I say evenly, but there's not enough crawlers to fill
- 12:19Speaker 2: all of them, and so in some cases some crawlers
- 12:22Speaker 2: end up in bubbles all by themselves. And these bubbles
- 12:25Speaker 2: are huge, all right. These are huge biomes that have
- 12:29Speaker 2: and each each bubble has its own theme, but they
- 12:32Speaker 2: all follow the same theme on the floor, which is
- 12:34Speaker 2: every bubble has four different zones within the bubble, all right,
- 12:40Speaker 2: and the crawlers that land that are assigned to these
- 12:43Speaker 2: bubbles are divided with are divided within one of these
- 12:47Speaker 2: four zones. So when Carl and Donut first arrived, they
- 12:51Speaker 2: arrived Carl, It's gonna be Carl, Donut, Mango, and of
- 12:54Speaker 2: course Katia. And when they land in their zone, they
- 12:57Speaker 2: are in the air zone or the skies zone. So
- 13:00Speaker 2: there's is divided. So there bubble is divided by water, land,
- 13:06Speaker 2: subterranean and air. So basically like when you if you
- 13:10Speaker 2: were like get a good image of it, think of
- 13:12Speaker 2: it like a bit like an They're like a set
- 13:15Speaker 2: on an island, kind of like an island looking area,
- 13:18Speaker 2: and the island is surrounded by a large body of water,
- 13:22Speaker 2: and then in the middle of the island is a
- 13:23Speaker 2: very tall mountain. So within the mountain is the subterranean zone.
- 13:28Speaker 2: The little strip of lands circling the mountain is the
- 13:31Speaker 2: land zone. Of course, the water zone is the is
- 13:34Speaker 2: the body of water, and the air in the sky
- 13:37Speaker 2: zone or the air zone is at the very tip
- 13:40Speaker 2: of the mountain, and the mountain is at the very
- 13:42Speaker 2: tip of the mountain. It's kind of like a like
- 13:43Speaker 2: a bowl. It's like a then the ball is like
- 13:46Speaker 2: it is like a desert, like full sand and whatnot.
- 13:50Speaker 2: And the goal of this is at every crawler, each crawlers,
- 13:55Speaker 2: while they're in their zones, they cannot leave their zones
- 13:58Speaker 2: until they until they capture the castle. So each zone
- 14:02Speaker 2: has a castle. So there's a water castle, land castle,
- 14:06Speaker 2: subtrading castle, and then the sky castle. Now, but of
- 14:10Speaker 2: course getting to these castles is not easy. You have
- 14:13Speaker 2: to you had to battle a bunch of new wacky
- 14:17Speaker 2: mobs and like, have to deal with different quest side
- 14:20Speaker 2: quests missions and try to find a way to get
- 14:23Speaker 2: into the castle and take control of it. In Carl's case,
- 14:28Speaker 2: he don't at Katia have to take the sky Castle.
- 14:31Speaker 2: The sky Castle because of course, is actually floating in
- 14:36Speaker 2: the sky. The castle itself is uh is run by
- 14:42Speaker 2: a race of Gnomes. And funny thing about the Gnomes
- 14:45Speaker 2: is that the Nomes, while they're not related to Goblins,
- 14:48Speaker 2: like the goblins, they are demolitions experts, so they have
- 14:51Speaker 2: really powerful explosives and there and they're and their explosives
- 14:55Speaker 2: are also considered stable, so like with like, so Carl
- 14:58Speaker 2: has to mainly use Hobgoblin explosives and Goblin explosives. Goblin
- 15:03Speaker 2: explosives are very unstable and could easily blow you up
- 15:06Speaker 2: as much as you blow somebody else up, So so
- 15:09Speaker 2: he ended up upgrading to the like Hobgoblin artillery and
- 15:14Speaker 2: that's way more stable. But when he first gets his
- 15:17Speaker 2: hand on some on some Gnome explosives, he realizes, oh,
- 15:20Speaker 2: these are way better and they have higher yield than
- 15:23Speaker 2: their higher yield explosives. So so now they're dealing they
- 15:29Speaker 2: have to deal with air to air com like ground
- 15:31Speaker 2: to air combat, and they have to figure out some
- 15:34Speaker 2: sort of way to get up to the to the
- 15:37Speaker 2: castle itself.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Uh So.
- 15:43Speaker 2: This book introduced it. This book is going to like
- 15:47Speaker 2: they a lot. I will say a lot happens in
- 15:50Speaker 2: these books because they not only have to com they
- 15:53Speaker 2: not not only have to capture the sky Castle, but
- 15:56Speaker 2: the other four capsule castles as well. And the thing
- 16:01Speaker 2: is is that they will not be able to leave
- 16:02Speaker 2: the floor until they've captured all four castles. Now, if
- 16:05Speaker 2: they capture all four castles, then the stairs to the
- 16:09Speaker 2: stairs to the next floor will unlock, and there's a
- 16:11Speaker 2: stairway at each of the four castles. The thing is
- 16:15Speaker 2: is that all four castles have to be captured and
- 16:17Speaker 2: when that does that, when they do do that, the
- 16:20Speaker 2: bubble zone will actually pop, allowing them to be able
- 16:23Speaker 2: to leave their bubble zone and maybe even explore one
- 16:26Speaker 2: of the other ones. But they only have fifteen days
- 16:30Speaker 2: to capture all four castles, and ideally Carl immediately tries
- 16:36Speaker 2: to contacts, immediately tries to reach out to anybody who's
- 16:39Speaker 2: currently in his bubble. The bubbles are signed numbers, so
- 16:43Speaker 2: he's in bubble like five thirty four. Let me double
- 16:47Speaker 2: check that. In look four chapter some reads who I
- 17:05Speaker 2: swear to God, I literally just saw what the bubble
- 17:08Speaker 2: they were on. You su haven't got this on yep five,
- 17:29Speaker 2: they're actually on five forty three bubble five forty three.
- 17:32Speaker 2: So he's talking. So he's so crawl is messaging any
- 17:35Speaker 2: crawler who's in the same bubble as him, just to
- 17:37Speaker 2: see who else is on the air the Ari zone
- 17:40Speaker 2: with him, who else is and then who's in subterranean,
- 17:43Speaker 2: who's in water, who's in lands? And turns out there's
- 17:48Speaker 2: not many people on the land zone, and the ones
- 17:51Speaker 2: that are they're not able. They found the castle very
- 17:54Speaker 2: quickly and easily, but they're not able to get close
- 17:56Speaker 2: to it, and the reason for that is they're not
- 18:00Speaker 2: really able to do much with it because the castle
- 18:02Speaker 2: for some reason opens and closes at a set time interval,
- 18:05Speaker 2: so they only have a short period of time to
- 18:07Speaker 2: be able to enter it. The subterranean zone is filled
- 18:13Speaker 2: with crawlers who are very low leveled even for this floor.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Are on floor five, but these guys are only like
- 18:20Speaker 2: level twenty when they should be like in the fifties
- 18:22Speaker 2: by now I think like, yeah, they should be a
- 18:26Speaker 2: lot higher, and so they're not. And the thing is
- 18:31Speaker 2: is the subterranean level is filled with traps because the
- 18:35Speaker 2: subterranean level is basically like a is like a tomb,
- 18:38Speaker 2: like a cursed tomb style castle. So there's traps, there's ghosts,
- 18:44Speaker 2: there's ghosts and spirit type mobs down there, not many,
- 18:48Speaker 2: and they're not equipped to fight these mobs, and for
- 18:53Speaker 2: the most part, these guys end up having to hide.
- 18:57Speaker 2: And while there was a crawler who had trapped disarming skills,
- 19:02Speaker 2: that crawler ends up dying unfortunately, mainly because mainly because
- 19:07Speaker 2: there is a boss level mob. I think it's a
- 19:10Speaker 2: city bus. It's a it's a spirit called Case of Katlas,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and it's roams. The roams the entire subterranean the entire
- 19:20Speaker 2: subterranean zone, so they're not able to get far. So
- 19:24Speaker 2: Carl realizes, Okay, we're gonna need to try. We're gonna
- 19:27Speaker 2: need to help the land zone and the subterranean zone
- 19:29Speaker 2: at some point. And then uh turns out the Metal
- 19:33Speaker 2: Lark people, the group from the Metal Lark Retirement Home,
- 19:36Speaker 2: are actually most of them are in this the water
- 19:40Speaker 2: zone and The thing is is that they're not it's
- 19:43Speaker 2: not boats, a boat kind of battle. The subterranean castle
- 19:47Speaker 2: is actually the excuse me, the underwater the water zone
- 19:50Speaker 2: castle is actually in a massive submarine deep like so
- 19:56Speaker 2: massive submarine. They have to find a way to get
- 19:58Speaker 2: down there and take control of the submarine. And so
- 20:04Speaker 2: Carlo doesn't really worry about the water zone because he
- 20:06Speaker 2: knows that those crawlers are capable of handling it. But
- 20:09Speaker 2: now he has to focus on the air zone. So
- 20:11Speaker 2: of course that's figuring out a way to capture the
- 20:15Speaker 2: noome castles floating in the sky. Now he notices that
- 20:18Speaker 2: the now one thing that he has to deal with
- 20:19Speaker 2: is that the Gnomes are currently in like a bit
- 20:22Speaker 2: of like a cold war with the with the mobs
- 20:25Speaker 2: dwelling in the sand bowl. And that's like these camel,
- 20:29Speaker 2: these humanoid camel like mobs, most of them are not hostile,
- 20:34Speaker 2: but they whenever they're in the settlements. There's only like
- 20:37Speaker 2: two camel settle settlements, and the Gnomes go back and
- 20:42Speaker 2: forth between either like oppressing them or bombing them. It's
- 20:46Speaker 2: really weird dynamic. Uh, So they have to like figure
- 20:50Speaker 2: they have to like figure out a way, Okay, we
- 20:52Speaker 2: have to find some way to bake the Nome the
- 20:55Speaker 2: Gnomes down into the the bowl, because the Gnomes have
- 20:59Speaker 2: a bunch of single engine jets, you know, like World
- 21:05Speaker 2: War two style single engine jets that do strafing runs
- 21:09Speaker 2: and things like that, and they have to find a
- 21:10Speaker 2: way to get them down and capture one. But the
- 21:13Speaker 2: problem is is that every time, like the Camels managed
- 21:16Speaker 2: to shoot down a Gnome jet, the Gnome jets deploy
- 21:20Speaker 2: a air balloon system that as soon as they begin
- 21:24Speaker 2: to crash, the jets deploy these hot these balloons that
- 21:28Speaker 2: cause them to float up to the top of the
- 21:30Speaker 2: air zone where they can get rescued by the castle.
- 21:34Speaker 2: So now so now they have to figure out, okay,
- 21:37Speaker 2: how do we capture one without triggering the fail safe? Right?
- 21:41Speaker 2: And then not? And none of them knows how to
- 21:43Speaker 2: fly a plane. Ah, so but they figured they figure
- 21:49Speaker 2: it out, and of course their whole plan gets completely
- 21:52Speaker 2: derailed regardless they go on. They get it gets completely
- 21:55Speaker 2: derailed regardless, and the and they but they still manage
- 22:00Speaker 2: to capture Anome jet and Carl and Donut Man carlon Donut,
- 22:07Speaker 2: they manage to get up to the castle, but not
- 22:10Speaker 2: before the castle itself deploys its own fail safe, because
- 22:13Speaker 2: the castle, while it does float high up, it does
- 22:16Speaker 2: manage to like it does every now and then come
- 22:18Speaker 2: down closer to the door to the sand bowl. So
- 22:22Speaker 2: when they have their confrontation with the nomes, it deploys
- 22:25Speaker 2: its fail safes and floats up to the very top
- 22:27Speaker 2: of the of the bubble. So now they have to
- 22:31Speaker 2: use their plane to get up as high as possible,
- 22:33Speaker 2: and the only way that can they know how to
- 22:35Speaker 2: do that is by deploying its deploying the fail safe
- 22:39Speaker 2: to have the balloons pop up and take the plane
- 22:43Speaker 2: up as high as it goes too. And when they
- 22:46Speaker 2: get when it gets to the very top of the bubble,
- 22:50Speaker 2: they use the jet and the jets engine to like
- 22:52Speaker 2: propel themselves closer to the castle where they jump down
- 22:55Speaker 2: onto the castle, which actually doesn't look like a castle
- 22:58Speaker 2: at all, but like a house. But it looks like
- 23:01Speaker 2: a house, we're thinking, like up style house. Like what
- 23:06Speaker 2: just a regular suburban house with a bunch of balloons
- 23:10Speaker 2: just coming out of the chimney, pretty much what it is.
- 23:14Speaker 2: So they get onto it. And the thing is is
- 23:17Speaker 2: that they realized that in their earlier confrontation when they
- 23:20Speaker 2: bombed and attacked the castle to try to get it
- 23:24Speaker 2: to crash, they had inadvertently killed the mayor of the castle.
- 23:29Speaker 2: So the mayor is dead and all the other gnomes
- 23:31Speaker 2: that were there are gone. So the only one there
- 23:33Speaker 2: at that time is just a little gnome girl. So
- 23:36Speaker 2: she was the daughter of the mayor and he'd triggered
- 23:40Speaker 2: the fail safe to protect her. But he's dead, and
- 23:44Speaker 2: so now they're like, well, shit, how do we take
- 23:46Speaker 2: control of the castle then, because we can't kill this
- 23:48Speaker 2: little girl? And she tells him like, oh, that's oh,
- 23:51Speaker 2: that's not me that you have to worry about. It's
- 23:53Speaker 2: the it's the goose.
- 23:56Speaker 1: But you're like the goose, the goose, you can already
- 24:02Speaker 1: tell where this is going.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So I was like, oh no, not a not a goose,
- 24:10Speaker 1: not a goose monster, a goose boss.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they find a goose monster. Hold on, let me
- 24:16Speaker 2: get the The goose had a had a wacky name.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Let me find the name. Let's see L's team just
- 24:23Speaker 3: to find out. Other brawlers and a quality sure factory
- 24:31Speaker 3: in fighting Thorny Devil and drop barrier, build a royal
- 24:36Speaker 3: chariot nomes bomb factories and shows how that's previous word
- 24:41Speaker 3: of leaving your dog for potentiations, stacking debuffs on boss
- 24:45Speaker 3: quatch uh La la Carlon sneaking to song. Sorry, I
- 25:38Speaker 3: insurance you.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Where the fuck? Yeah, A lot happens, sure does, I
- 26:21Speaker 2: hope I skipped it. So the goose's name is Denise.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Oh, it's right, Denise. I'll kind of forget a name
- 27:02Speaker 1: like that.
- 27:04Speaker 2: It's like.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Any kind of goose.
- 27:09Speaker 2: It's not just any kind of goose. It's a mother goose,
- 27:11Speaker 2: but we're talking. It has on it on it and
- 27:14Speaker 2: like a little shawl mother goose. Uh yeah. So they
- 27:20Speaker 2: they have to fight the goose, and the goose was
- 27:22Speaker 2: surprisingly powerful uh and hard to beat, but they managed
- 27:26Speaker 2: to kill it, and they live liberating officially liberating the
- 27:30Speaker 2: the air castle, and now they have access to this
- 27:34Speaker 2: to the air quadrants uh stairs, but the stairs are
- 27:38Speaker 2: still locked, so they still have to liberate the other
- 27:40Speaker 2: three castles. The thing is is that, I will say,
- 27:44Speaker 2: a lot happens in between them liberating the castle, and
- 27:47Speaker 2: from the start of the level they find they learned.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Uh.
- 27:50Speaker 2: They just as they are liberating the uh, just right
- 27:55Speaker 2: right as they're about to liberate the air Castle. They
- 27:57Speaker 2: learned that this that the water Castle has been liberated
- 27:59Speaker 2: by another crawler named Chris. Chris was actually one of
- 28:03Speaker 2: the crawlers that uh that entered the dungeon with the
- 28:07Speaker 2: metal Lark Retirement community. So like the Chris and his brother,
- 28:11Speaker 2: they were like maintenance workers. And the thing is is
- 28:15Speaker 2: that they were they were helping the metal Ark group
- 28:18Speaker 2: evacuate from their building because there was a fire. And
- 28:21Speaker 2: but then just as like they got everybody out, that's
- 28:23Speaker 2: when the collapse happens and the dungeons opened up. And
- 28:27Speaker 2: because they were in Seattle in the middle of winter,
- 28:29Speaker 2: they had to get all these old, these elderly people
- 28:31Speaker 2: down into the dungeon because that was the only place
- 28:33Speaker 2: of shelter they could find. All right. Unfortunately, Chris's brother
- 28:37Speaker 2: ends up dying and Chris uh Imani and several of
- 28:42Speaker 2: the other metal Ark Group notes some to have noticed
- 28:45Speaker 2: that there's been some some recent changes in Chris's personality,
- 28:49Speaker 2: especially since the floor this after especially after the start
- 28:52Speaker 2: of floor three, like he's more impulsive, he's more seems
- 28:56Speaker 2: he's more standoffish and more like and less social uh So,
- 29:01Speaker 2: And the thing is is that Chris seems like since
- 29:04Speaker 2: join entering this zone where like Chris, like Chris and
- 29:08Speaker 2: Carl are now in the more immediate proximity with each other.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Chris is seen Chris. Chris seems very determined to meet
- 29:16Speaker 2: up with Carl for whatever reason. And as soon as
- 29:21Speaker 2: the thing is as soon as Chris Uh, the thing is,
- 29:25Speaker 2: as soon as Chris liberates the water castle, this opens
- 29:31Speaker 2: up the other zones to them. So like when you're
- 29:35Speaker 2: so so, the thing is, the zones are all closed
- 29:37Speaker 2: off to each other, and once you liberate one zone,
- 29:41Speaker 2: you can enter the other zones. But the thing is
- 29:43Speaker 2: is that like if from but the thing is is
- 29:45Speaker 2: that you have to be the other zones have to
- 29:48Speaker 2: be like quote unquote liberated too. So it's a weird mechanic,
- 29:52Speaker 2: like despite the fact that Carl liberates the air zone,
- 29:55Speaker 2: he's still not able to go down into the subterranean zone.
- 29:57Speaker 2: And that's mainly because in that part mainly happened because
- 30:01Speaker 2: after Chris liberates the water zone, UH, the captain that
- 30:06Speaker 2: was controlling the submarine had caused the submarine to dock
- 30:09Speaker 2: and like some sort of underground like UH station, and
- 30:14Speaker 2: the submarine begins pumping water into the subterranean zone. So
- 30:18Speaker 2: the subterranean zone is now completely flooded. Yeah, and the
- 30:23Speaker 2: Carls and any leftover for crawlers there either dot either
- 30:27Speaker 2: drowned or they have to hide in their safe zones.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So there's nothing they can do about the subterranean zone
- 30:32Speaker 2: for the time being, but they they that comes later.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Chris ends up going up to the air into the
- 30:40Speaker 2: air quadrant. And when they when they meet up with
- 30:43Speaker 2: each other, uh, Carl and like Carl notices that Chris
- 30:48Speaker 2: is now like acting, is definitely acting. Weird thing about
- 30:52Speaker 2: Chris is that Chris is not himself, is actually not himself,
- 30:56Speaker 2: so he's taken. So Chris is when he chose his
- 31:00Speaker 2: new class. In his race, Chris had chosen a special
- 31:03Speaker 2: kind of like rock gol race, except his is more
- 31:05Speaker 2: of like a like a lava type rock gole.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Let me see, Let me see Chris, let me see
- 31:30Speaker 4: he is a He's so.
- 31:34Speaker 2: His race is called an igneous, which is like a
- 31:38Speaker 2: rock golem, but in his case is like a lava
- 31:41Speaker 2: rock golm. And I mean it's an impressive race. And
- 31:45Speaker 2: he has some really cool perks that allow him to
- 31:47Speaker 2: like hide in the earth and even like Burrow underground.
- 31:50Speaker 2: But he's very he's been acting very aggressive. And the
- 31:54Speaker 2: thing is is that, uh, the thing is is that,
- 31:59Speaker 2: as it turns out, Chris had been possessed by another crawler.
- 32:05Speaker 2: So if you guys recall if going we're gonna go back,
- 32:08Speaker 2: take a little step back to book one. In book one,
- 32:12Speaker 2: Carl and Donut had come across a pair of a
- 32:14Speaker 2: pair of dungeon crawlers who had been who had become
- 32:18Speaker 2: player killers, if you'll remember them, their names were Maggie
- 32:23Speaker 2: and Frank, and they tried to attack Carl and Donut,
- 32:26Speaker 2: but because they were in but because they were in
- 32:28Speaker 2: a safe zone, they could not attack other crawlers within
- 32:31Speaker 2: the safe zone. So they get put into like a
- 32:33Speaker 2: temporary timeout, allowing Carl and Donut to flee, and when
- 32:37Speaker 2: they flee, Carl sets a trap for them that they
- 32:40Speaker 2: fall for the problem is is that one thing Carl
- 32:42Speaker 2: and Donut didn't realize was that Fred and I'm sorry,
- 32:46Speaker 2: Frank and Maggie did not have had their daughter with them.
- 32:51Speaker 2: And while Frank and Maggie, Maggie were trying to convince
- 32:54Speaker 2: their daughter to be a player killer like them, she
- 32:56Speaker 2: wasn't willing to do it, and she kept resisting, so
- 33:00Speaker 2: they would often have her do things like do other
- 33:02Speaker 2: things to help her level up, like disarmed traps, luke bodies,
- 33:06Speaker 2: things like that. So they had her loot a body
- 33:08Speaker 2: that that Carl Rigg does a trap, and as soon
- 33:11Speaker 2: as she touches it, it exploded, killing her instantly and
- 33:14Speaker 2: severely injuring both Frank and Maggie. And the thing is
- 33:18Speaker 2: is that this actually the death of his daughter, actually
- 33:21Speaker 2: ends up breaking uh, ends up breaking Maggie. And in
- 33:26Speaker 2: the in one of the previous books, Carl actually does
- 33:29Speaker 2: run into Frank in the Desperado Club and but late
- 33:33Speaker 2: the thing is that after exchanging words and Carl leaves
- 33:35Speaker 2: is Carl leaves, he learns that Chris actually came into
- 33:39Speaker 2: the Desperado Club and kills Frank just out of nowhere,
- 33:44Speaker 2: and things they don't actually like really address it. They're like,
- 33:47Speaker 2: that's weird, that's weird, but they don't really like get
- 33:55Speaker 2: give Chris much flak for it, because like, hey, Frank
- 33:57Speaker 2: was a player killer And the only reason why Carl
- 34:00Speaker 2: and Donut Figure learned that Frank and Maggie Maggie had
- 34:03Speaker 2: a daughter was because they were all brought onto the
- 34:06Speaker 2: same uh talk show together, and that's where Maggie reveals
- 34:09Speaker 2: that you killed our daughter, and and Carl was like,
- 34:12Speaker 2: you were trying to kill us, Okay, we were just
- 34:14Speaker 2: doing what we could out of self defense. All right,
- 34:18Speaker 2: all right, the track was meant for you. We didn't
- 34:20Speaker 2: know your daughter was there. Okay, I not really an excuse,
- 34:23Speaker 2: but at the same time, like you expect us to
- 34:25Speaker 2: feel pity.
- 34:26Speaker 1: For you found out.
- 34:29Speaker 2: You've been murdering people players, You've you've been murdering other players,
- 34:34Speaker 2: and you justify it as, oh, it's just a game,
- 34:36Speaker 2: like it's not a game. So like yeah, Now, Maggie
- 34:41Speaker 2: and Frank had a vendetta, especially Maggie. Especially Maggie was
- 34:44Speaker 2: the more blood thirsty of the two and she so
- 34:48Speaker 2: the thing is when she got to the third floor,
- 34:51Speaker 2: while Frank chose like a like a weird vampire class,
- 34:54Speaker 2: Maggie chose a different race, like she chose a race
- 34:59Speaker 2: call uh uh called a race called infiltrators. So we've
- 35:05Speaker 2: actually met other symbiotic races. By this point, the book
- 35:09Speaker 2: has already introduced other symbiotic races, mainly the Voltae. The
- 35:15Speaker 2: Voltai Corporation is run by a race of these wormlike symbiotes.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I call them symbiotes and not parasites because they're not
- 35:22Speaker 2: actually parasites. The Vaultai Corporation they have a they have
- 35:26Speaker 2: this policy of where they will actually pay people, mainly
- 35:30Speaker 2: people of importance. So if like you were a celebrity,
- 35:33Speaker 2: if you were a political figure, former dungeon crawlers, they
- 35:37Speaker 2: will pay you an absurd amount of money right up
- 35:39Speaker 2: front and the basically, but with the stipulation that upon
- 35:43Speaker 2: your death, your corpse will become property of the Voltai
- 35:46Speaker 2: Corporation and be implanted with a Voltai worm. So the
- 35:51Speaker 2: Vaultae are like these brain are basically brainworms. If you
- 35:55Speaker 2: want a close prox approximation of the vaults a, if
- 36:01Speaker 2: any of you have ever watched Stargate SG one, the
- 36:04Speaker 2: gua ould and the Tokra, basically that's what they're like.
- 36:07Speaker 2: They're they're these worm like parasites that inhabit a host
- 36:12Speaker 2: body and they control it. Where the Valsa, the Valta,
- 36:16Speaker 2: they're they're more like the tokra where they live in
- 36:19Speaker 2: symbiosis with their hosts, kind of like they when they
- 36:23Speaker 2: don't have a host to inhabit they actually build for
- 36:25Speaker 2: themselves special like like a special kind of like automaton,
- 36:29Speaker 2: like a like a suit that they the worm can inhabit,
- 36:32Speaker 2: and it gives them all the nutrients and things to
- 36:34Speaker 2: survive while allowing them to interact with and explore the world.
- 36:38Speaker 2: But then occasionally, if they actually have a living host available,
- 36:42Speaker 2: fell and plant one of their worms in the uh
- 36:45Speaker 2: in this host. And usually it's through one of the
- 36:47Speaker 2: contracts where you like will pay you like enough money
- 36:51Speaker 2: to basically let you you you'll basically be set up
- 36:53Speaker 2: for the rest of eternity, right, you'll be good, You're
- 36:56Speaker 2: will pay you so much money. But the moment you die,
- 37:00Speaker 2: your body becomes ours will put of We'll put one
- 37:02Speaker 2: of our worms in it. That worm will basically resurrect you,
- 37:05Speaker 2: but you won't be in control anymore. It'll the worm
- 37:08Speaker 2: will be the one in control. Which it's not really
- 37:12Speaker 2: it's kind of like a like a morally gray thing.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Like it's not bad because at that point you've already
- 37:17Speaker 2: died and they're basically just they're just basically just doing
- 37:20Speaker 2: a hard restart. And while your memories are are preserved
- 37:25Speaker 2: by the worm and you're basically brought back to life.
- 37:27Speaker 2: You're not really you now, it's just the Valta worm
- 37:31Speaker 2: taking over, just taking the reins from there. But the
- 37:34Speaker 2: thing is the Vaulta are they're they're considered like you know,
- 37:37Speaker 2: they're sym they're symbiotic, they're not hostile or parasitic, right,
- 37:43Speaker 2: But there's another race similar to them, called infiltrators. The
- 37:46Speaker 2: infiltrators are the ones that are They're just like the Vaulta.
- 37:51Speaker 2: They're a worm like parasite, and but rather than but
- 37:55Speaker 2: rather than either living symbiotically with their living host, they
- 37:59Speaker 2: take the by they take the horse to the host
- 38:03Speaker 2: by force, and oftentimes that relationship is one sided and
- 38:08Speaker 2: it's non consensual. So when Maggie chose her race, she
- 38:12Speaker 2: chose the infiltrator race, and as soon as she got
- 38:15Speaker 2: the opportunity, she found Chris and took over his body.
- 38:19Speaker 2: So Chris, the reason why he's been acting so weird,
- 38:22Speaker 2: the reason why he killed Frank, was because it was
- 38:25Speaker 2: actually Maggie now Chris. Now. Carl did not realize this,
- 38:29Speaker 2: so when he meets when he meets Carlo up in
- 38:31Speaker 2: this sky zone, when Carl meets Chris in the sky Zone,
- 38:35Speaker 2: Chris was actually about to kill him. But the thing
- 38:38Speaker 2: is is that at the last minute, Kassia gets a
- 38:42Speaker 2: surprise benefactor box and it's inside it is a special
- 38:46Speaker 2: type of pa like paralyzing dart that she could shoot
- 38:50Speaker 2: from her crossbow that she got from from Helga from
- 38:54Speaker 2: that from the last floor. So as soon she gets it,
- 38:57Speaker 2: they also comes with a note very much like a
- 39:00Speaker 2: sort of like a not like an inc conspicuous note
- 39:03Speaker 2: that this person is not who they seem, right, Chris
- 39:06Speaker 2: is not who he seems. So she manages to come
- 39:09Speaker 2: around in time and paralyze Chris before he can do
- 39:13Speaker 2: any harm. They interroget him and realize it's Maggie. It's Maggie,
- 39:17Speaker 2: my the player killer. And thing is that they don't
- 39:22Speaker 2: want to They don't want to kill Chris because the
- 39:25Speaker 2: only way to kill Maggie at this point is by
- 39:28Speaker 2: killing Chris, and they don't want to do that because well,
- 39:31Speaker 2: Chris is innocent, all right, He's just an innocent man,
- 39:34Speaker 2: sure is so instead of but the thing is is
- 39:37Speaker 2: that so instead of killing him, Donut uses her whole spell.
- 39:47Speaker 2: So she has a special spell that lets her create
- 39:49Speaker 2: a hole in the ground or on any surface, and
- 39:53Speaker 2: if that hole like depending on how deep it goes.
- 39:56Speaker 2: If you're on like a if you're in like if
- 39:57Speaker 2: there's like a space beneath that hole, you'll just fall
- 40:00Speaker 2: right through, right So it's really useful for like opening
- 40:04Speaker 2: quick doorways or like setting like special traps to chirp
- 40:08Speaker 2: up people and uh when she the thing about the
- 40:11Speaker 2: whole spell is that it's basically more of like an overlay,
- 40:14Speaker 2: so temper it can temporarily open a hole, but when
- 40:17Speaker 2: she cancels the spell, the hole will close. So she's
- 40:20Speaker 2: used that spell to like actually kill other crawlers or
- 40:23Speaker 2: other mobs before to like trap them and then bisect
- 40:26Speaker 2: them with it. She uses it, and she creates a
- 40:30Speaker 2: hole that drops Chris down into the subterranean zone. And
- 40:34Speaker 2: the thing is is that the subterranean zone right at
- 40:37Speaker 2: that moment is flooded, so Maggie, So Maggie, So Maggie
- 40:41Speaker 2: May is basically trapped underwater. And the cool thing. The
- 40:44Speaker 2: cool thing is is that because of Chris's new class,
- 40:48Speaker 2: he does not really need to breathe air, so it's
- 40:50Speaker 2: not he's not going to drown, so they're not worried
- 40:52Speaker 2: about drowning him. But at the very least he's trapped
- 40:55Speaker 2: in that quadrant for the time being, so he can't
- 40:58Speaker 2: he can't actually burrow between the two quadrants, and he
- 41:02Speaker 2: can't go to like the entrances between the quadrants to
- 41:05Speaker 2: get out of the subterranean zone because right now, the
- 41:07Speaker 2: subterranean zone is still locked until the other zones are unlocked.
- 41:12Speaker 2: So the thing is the Sky, Earth, and Water zones.
- 41:14Speaker 2: When you unlock one of them, you can like move
- 41:17Speaker 2: like you can leave from your zone you started off
- 41:20Speaker 2: and go to one of the other two zones. But
- 41:22Speaker 2: the thing is, all three of those zones have to
- 41:23Speaker 2: be unlocked before you can enter the subterranean zone. The
- 41:27Speaker 2: subterranean zone supposed to be the hardest thing and technically
- 41:30Speaker 2: meant to be handled last, but because it has like
- 41:32Speaker 2: the hardest mobs and the like an actual city boss
- 41:36Speaker 2: so uh so that so he's good and out of
- 41:40Speaker 2: the way for the time being. Now that both Water
- 41:44Speaker 2: and Sky zones are are unlocked, they now have to
- 41:47Speaker 2: figure out how to get to the land zone. Uh
- 41:50Speaker 2: to figure uh to capture the land zone. Because the
- 41:53Speaker 2: land zone, the land castle is basically like a big
- 41:56Speaker 2: sand castle and it's controlled by this mad mage. Uh.
- 42:01Speaker 2: There's like more ship that happens that I haven't gotten over. Mainly, like,
- 42:06Speaker 2: I want to point out that the Dungeon AI is
- 42:09Speaker 2: becoming more and more unhinged, creating these weird, conflicting scenarios,
- 42:14Speaker 2: becoming more o the gerbis.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Now, I uh, I'm listening to the audiobooks and I
- 42:29Speaker 1: for all that know, the audiobook is for Dunder. For
- 42:33Speaker 1: the series Dunder Collor Carl is some of the best
- 42:35Speaker 1: audio books you ever listened to. Period. I got scarred
- 42:44Speaker 1: from book four and five of With the AI, especially
- 42:49Speaker 1: if I you'll find out when we talk about book five,
- 42:51Speaker 1: but book four, I literally message Jacob, Yeah, I'm listening
- 42:56Speaker 1: to a bill for therapy because I need to hear
- 43:00Speaker 1: a voice actor basically orgasm in my ear that I,
- 43:07Speaker 1: whoever the author, you need you need help? Are you okay?
- 43:11Speaker 1: Are you okay? It's a AI.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I think the I think the guy who's the voice
- 43:19Speaker 2: actor who's reading the audio you need help too. He's
- 43:22Speaker 2: gonna need therapy too because some of the achievements and
- 43:27Speaker 2: that comes, but especially the ones where the where the
- 43:29Speaker 2: for Basically it's basically the AI like the sent when
- 43:32Speaker 2: when Carl like ends up doing something that turns the
- 43:34Speaker 2: air on, it sends an achievement like and it's basically
- 43:38Speaker 2: coming in his.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Ears literally, and yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 2: The very first time Carl killed something by stomping on it,
- 43:45Speaker 2: the entire fucking dungeon like.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Ship witted and it quivered, it quivered.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And like the and the fucking achievement he got for
- 43:57Speaker 2: it was basically the AI just like coming in his ears,
- 44:02Speaker 2: just like, oh, you killed the mob by stepping on it.
- 44:07Speaker 2: That happened. That actually happens to be my kink.
- 44:11Speaker 1: And then it just gets words. It turns into daddy
- 44:14Speaker 1: like you're just like, oh my god. But yeah, four
- 44:17Speaker 1: is when it really gets really rawn cheet.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Yeah. So here's the thing around the time that like
- 44:27Speaker 2: the whole like for some reason, the dungeon, the AI
- 44:38Speaker 2: puts scenarios where it wants Carl to use his feet
- 44:43Speaker 2: and attacks, like it gave him a special loop box
- 44:46Speaker 2: and like I think, like in the first floor, I
- 44:48Speaker 2: gave him a loop box that came with a pedicure kit.
- 44:51Speaker 2: So basically if Carl, like, if Carl like works on
- 44:54Speaker 2: his feet, like uses the decalus, the decaliser, like the
- 44:58Speaker 2: tonel clippers, the the nail file, the like cream all
- 45:03Speaker 2: this shit, right if he has to give himself a
- 45:06Speaker 2: pedicure every day, and this will give him a special
- 45:11Speaker 2: that will give him a special like power up, especially
- 45:15Speaker 2: for feet based attacks, so like one he can he
- 45:20Speaker 2: could basically walk barefoot, I did not have to worry.
- 45:22Speaker 2: He could work walk on rough terrain and it won't
- 45:25Speaker 2: basically be walking like he has a good pair of
- 45:27Speaker 2: shoes on right, and he gets a major buff to
- 45:30Speaker 2: like kick or stomping based attacks. And the thing is
- 45:34Speaker 2: lately on this floor, in the last floor, Carl has
- 45:37Speaker 2: been avoiding using those those feats like he still uses
- 45:42Speaker 2: his kids because it's a it's a good bonus. But
- 45:44Speaker 2: he's been deliberately avoiding it and just using his other
- 45:48Speaker 2: like more useful attacks. But the AI is becoming more
- 45:52Speaker 2: and more like frustrated, and it starts doing it starts
- 45:58Speaker 2: throwing shit in his way. Like one thing it throws
- 46:01Speaker 2: his way is like we're gonna go over to chapter thirteen.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Chapter thirteen of the book. If you have the book,
- 46:07Speaker 2: like read along with me, to read along with me,
- 46:11Speaker 2: children the gnomes when they're finding the gnomes, the gnomes
- 46:14Speaker 2: would actually drop a special kind of like ball, like
- 46:17Speaker 2: a kind of bombed, but it's like it's not a bomb,
- 46:19Speaker 2: but it's like a container. It's called a live ammal ball.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Look look read along with me as i read the
- 46:25Speaker 2: description of this live ammal ball. Live animal balls are
- 46:29Speaker 2: a common and versule ranged weapon of the dirigible Gnomes.
- 46:33Speaker 2: These rounds clamshells. These round clamshell spheres are designed to
- 46:37Speaker 2: be fired great distances using a gnomish ticklestick, or they
- 46:41Speaker 2: may be manually lobbed like a grenade. They are also
- 46:44Speaker 2: fired in large clusters from anti aircraft point defense batteries.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Just be glad you're not in charge of cleaning up
- 46:51Speaker 2: that mess. A living, usually angry, creature is placed inside
- 46:55Speaker 2: the ball and the ball opens upon impact with the target.
- 46:59Speaker 2: The station field keeps the creature within safe within safe
- 47:03Speaker 2: from injury until the ball is open. These balls are
- 47:06Speaker 2: similar in technology to pet carriers. As such, any mob
- 47:10Speaker 2: stored within are able to be placed within one's inventories.
- 47:15Speaker 2: Balls may be recycled if the mechanism doesn't break upon impact.
- 47:19Speaker 2: They usually break upon impact. This ball contains a frenzied
- 47:24Speaker 2: gerbil level eleven. Oh God, and the thing is is
- 47:29Speaker 2: that all the damn all of the of these live
- 47:34Speaker 2: animal balls that Carl keeps finding that are being dropped
- 47:37Speaker 2: by the by the dirigible gnomes all have fucking gerbils
- 47:42Speaker 2: in them. And the thing is, as they're fighting more
- 47:46Speaker 2: and more in this particular scene, more and more of
- 47:49Speaker 2: these fucking gerbils come running in and are attacking everybody.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Like it's not just like maybe like a dozen here
- 47:54Speaker 2: and there. No, we're talking like if you're played A
- 47:59Speaker 2: Plague's Tail.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I have not played a Plaquetail.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Okay, there's a game called A Plague's Tail where basically
- 48:06Speaker 2: it's like it's kind of like a historical game where
- 48:08Speaker 2: you play as a character trying to escape the Black
- 48:11Speaker 2: Plague and the things of black plague is being caused
- 48:14Speaker 2: by play rats, and in the game, they're you're surrounded
- 48:17Speaker 2: by swarms of these rats. So we're talking like swarms
- 48:20Speaker 2: of these frenzy gerbils running everywhere attacking people, and Carl
- 48:25Speaker 2: is just trying to kill them like normal. But then
- 48:27Speaker 2: they realized that the the ais calling is basically like
- 48:33Speaker 2: here here, let me let me let me read another
- 48:35Speaker 2: section here, Like we're gonna start from car from Carl's perspective,
- 48:40Speaker 2: all right, it's all from Carl's perspective, We're gonna start
- 48:42Speaker 2: here when he comes to realize it. I remember Ralph.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I remember Ralph, the boss from the second floor. He
- 48:47Speaker 2: was also a frenzy Gerbil. It was right before we'd
- 48:50Speaker 2: found Mango in that prize room. The system. AI had
- 48:53Speaker 2: been particularly excited about how I had killed the creature.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Fuck me, I said, as as I fully realized what
- 49:01Speaker 2: was going on. The AI had wanted me to get
- 49:04Speaker 2: hit with the Gerbil ball. It wanted me to fight one.
- 49:06Speaker 2: It wanted me to kill it by smushing it with
- 49:08Speaker 2: my foot. I looked at the five balls hanging off
- 49:11Speaker 2: my belt like fist sized Christmas ornaments. I swallowed, go ahead,
- 49:15Speaker 2: I thought, drop one on the ground. They're only a
- 49:18Speaker 2: level eleven, easy to kill on their own. I suddenly
- 49:20Speaker 2: felt dirty, and I hadn't even done anything yet. No,
- 49:25Speaker 2: I thought, fuck you, There's only so much a person
- 49:27Speaker 2: could take. And then from here, uh you be get
- 49:31Speaker 2: aware of Donut was loudly explaining to Katia what had
- 49:34Speaker 2: happened on the when they first fought the frenzy Gerbil.
- 49:37Speaker 2: It's like and after he squashed down on poor Ralph
- 49:40Speaker 2: with his foot, the whole dungeon shook like Carl used
- 49:43Speaker 2: to after he went on that website that gave his
- 49:45Speaker 2: computer a virus and we'd received a prize room after that,
- 49:48Speaker 2: and that's where we found Mango, right, Mongo, Like like
- 49:52Speaker 2: that that's one thing I love about, like not Carl
- 49:57Speaker 2: taking catching strays from donut from donut. But then like
- 50:00Speaker 2: it seems like every other conversation donn it has it's
- 50:02Speaker 2: like she's she's suddenly like she's just like firing like
- 50:05Speaker 2: little shots off at Carl. Is like remember like like
- 50:09Speaker 2: that one time you once went up to miss to
- 50:11Speaker 2: Miss b and pulled down your pants and went me
- 50:13Speaker 2: so horny and he's like and girls like what that
- 50:16Speaker 2: wasn't me? It's like, oh right, hell was brad Damn?
- 50:21Speaker 1: She just causing trauma trauma trauma trauma response response. And
- 50:30Speaker 1: that was.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Yeah, the dune And then God remembers that the dungeon
- 50:34Speaker 2: also like shivered when uh back in boo back in
- 50:39Speaker 2: the on the fourth floor and the last floor when
- 50:42Speaker 2: Carl got stepped on by girl.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the whole.
- 50:47Speaker 2: The whole dungeon quivered. And the thing is is that
- 50:50Speaker 2: uh uh like in this whole scene, there's Gerbils like
- 50:57Speaker 2: just coming more and more, coming up, the whole waves
- 50:59Speaker 2: of these rubles, and finally, like Carl is finally out enough,
- 51:02Speaker 2: he's like, they're gonna keep coming if he doesn't, if
- 51:04Speaker 2: he doesn't start squishing him with his feet, they're gonna
- 51:07Speaker 2: keep coming. And finally he manages to like cat, he
- 51:14Speaker 2: grabs one, and he's like, I can't do this anymore
- 51:17Speaker 2: if there's too many of them. He he grabs a dribble,
- 51:21Speaker 2: like throws it down on the ground and stomps on it.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he sure does.
- 51:27Speaker 2: And then he doesn't stop there. He keeps He just
- 51:29Speaker 2: keeps going, like stop stop, stop, stop, stop, being as
- 51:32Speaker 2: many of them as he can, and like even COTTI
- 51:36Speaker 2: is like, Okay, this isn't funny anymore. Yeah, and he so.
- 51:46Speaker 2: By the end of it, Carl had stepped on and
- 51:48Speaker 2: smashed at least fifty of the frenzy gerbbil before the
- 51:51Speaker 2: wave finally stopped. And he never felt so filthy in
- 51:56Speaker 2: his life, not just because he's covered in gerbil guts,
- 51:59Speaker 2: but because of the implications.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I felt filthy reading it.
- 52:08Speaker 2: And this is the this is this is the achievement
- 52:11Speaker 2: he got from the AI New achievement. You're the reason
- 52:16Speaker 2: why Daddy drinks God.
- 52:20Speaker 1: And you have for.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on, hold on, say there's more. There's more.
- 52:27Speaker 2: You have for an unspecified reason, raise the ire of
- 52:30Speaker 2: the system.
- 52:30Speaker 1: AI.
- 52:31Speaker 2: You have corrected the issue and everything is back to normal.
- 52:34Speaker 2: The acceleration action has been suspended this time good boy reward.
- 52:39Speaker 2: You received a gold makeup sex as the best Sex Box.
- 52:45Speaker 1: And that's when I text Jacob, I'm sending a bill
- 52:47Speaker 1: to you form therapy. And then I want message the
- 52:50Speaker 1: voice actor who did the audiobook say I'm also going
- 52:54Speaker 1: to send you a bill for therapy because the way
- 52:58Speaker 1: the way they read that on the audiobook is so just.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I have not listened to the audiobook, but I see
- 53:06Speaker 2: like snippets on TikTok and the way the dude reads
- 53:09Speaker 2: like it's I think it's funny, the way he uh
- 53:13Speaker 2: like the way he voices donut. Because she has a
- 53:17Speaker 2: he gives her a British accent for whatever reason.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Accent, Yeah, makes.
- 53:25Speaker 2: A very posh a posh accent.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Next wow wow wow. It took me a second, but
- 53:34Speaker 1: wow wow, you're so funny. You're so ladies and gentlemen.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Jacob is so funny, Yeah.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Very funny, but not as funny as the fact that
- 53:42Speaker 2: Carl gave the dungeon Ai blue balls.
- 53:46Speaker 1: I hate it so much. I hate I love it,
- 53:48Speaker 1: and I hate it so much. It's so the show
- 53:54Speaker 1: that they're going to make that the guy that Seth
- 53:56Speaker 1: and Marland's making. It's gonna have to be streaming. It's
- 53:59Speaker 1: gonna be like it's gonna have to be It's gonna
- 54:01Speaker 1: have to be like Ted season two. It can't go
- 54:04Speaker 1: on TV. That's gonna be so just wrong.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Oh Ted, Ted season two have me dead. I have
- 54:11Speaker 2: to rewatch it because I have Oh god, it's so good.
- 54:15Speaker 2: But oh my god, they have to if they do
- 54:18Speaker 2: make it. If they when they do make the show,
- 54:20Speaker 2: I hope it's animated because I think the it being
- 54:23Speaker 2: animated in the style that like, like, I'm behind Seth
- 54:27Speaker 2: MacFarlane doing it because who else but Seth MacFarland could do.
- 54:32Speaker 2: But at the same time, I'm like, they need to
- 54:34Speaker 2: make the either they have to do the animation in
- 54:36Speaker 2: the in the similar same or similar style as the
- 54:38Speaker 2: animators from Vox Machina or Invincible.
- 54:44Speaker 1: That'd be good because.
- 54:46Speaker 2: That would be good, like Seth McFarland plus one of
- 54:49Speaker 2: those two studios. I think they're the same studios because
- 54:51Speaker 2: the anime style is like, really this pretty sick. It's
- 54:54Speaker 2: pretty similar. No, they're different, never mind never or that
- 55:01Speaker 2: cut that up. Uh, I'm not stupid.
- 55:05Speaker 1: I would not be mad. If they do in the
- 55:07Speaker 1: style like Family Guy in American Dad, I would not
- 55:09Speaker 1: be mad. I would not be upset. Or if they
- 55:13Speaker 1: did it live action with that like what they did
- 55:15Speaker 1: with Ted season two in that one episode. I yes, yes,
- 55:20Speaker 1: I would be very very please.
- 55:22Speaker 2: If they do uh, okay, if they do like do
- 55:27Speaker 2: in the style of like Futurama.
- 55:30Speaker 1: That's also a good style.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Or at the very least, like I don't know, like
- 55:35Speaker 2: there was a the animators who did Star Trek Lower
- 55:39Speaker 2: Decks that one was also pretty good. Or hell get
- 55:42Speaker 2: the guys who did Q Force Q fours that one
- 55:46Speaker 2: was really good. But anyway, so they've dealt with the Gribbils,
- 55:51Speaker 2: they've dealt with Chris slash Maggie, and uh, they also
- 55:56Speaker 2: have to deal with the fact that the one of
- 56:04Speaker 2: the camel people call it again, there's a special name
- 56:07Speaker 2: for them, Bactrians. That's what they're called. So the thing
- 56:13Speaker 2: is is that they also learned that almost half of
- 56:16Speaker 2: the Bactrians are actually change Links in the skies. And
- 56:20Speaker 2: the thing is that they learned that the change Links
- 56:22Speaker 2: are trying to get access to the subterranean tunnels because one,
- 56:25Speaker 2: they want to try to capture the dungeon boss that's
- 56:31Speaker 2: down there, the Kates of Colottlas, because they want to
- 56:35Speaker 2: try it because they believe that Katesiklottlas would get. What
- 56:39Speaker 2: they want to do is like they want to capture
- 56:41Speaker 2: it and take a gain the ability to transform into it,
- 56:45Speaker 2: because change Lines can transform into anything that they touch.
- 56:49Speaker 2: And the thing is, the thing is Carl learns that
- 56:52Speaker 2: this community of change Links, while they've been hiding in
- 56:54Speaker 2: the while they've been hiding in plain sight in the
- 56:59Speaker 2: Bactrian forces, they're also like trying their best to protect
- 57:03Speaker 2: their children and other members of their community. Because there's
- 57:06Speaker 2: like a sickness called the I think it's called the
- 57:08Speaker 2: drooping sickness. Uh yeah, it's called the drooping sickness because
- 57:18Speaker 2: or I'm sorry, the compression sickness because for some reason,
- 57:20Speaker 2: like so changelings, they have a true form that looks
- 57:23Speaker 2: like a kind of like a almost like a Roswelli
- 57:25Speaker 2: engraves like a like a mannequin, very like very androgynous,
- 57:30Speaker 2: and not has like very little like details like in
- 57:34Speaker 2: their physics in their true form. The thing is is
- 57:36Speaker 2: that there for some reason, their children are being some
- 57:39Speaker 2: of their children are being born with like certain defects,
- 57:42Speaker 2: so it looks like they're like deflated almost like one
- 57:45Speaker 2: little girl looks little changeling girl looks like they're like
- 57:48Speaker 2: their head is deflated inward, like caved inward. So they
- 57:54Speaker 2: think they it has something to do with the fact
- 57:56Speaker 2: that they've been banished from lacos and other and other
- 58:00Speaker 2: parts of their uh and like basically their native habitats,
- 58:03Speaker 2: because like their native habitat had like this right kind
- 58:06Speaker 2: of like atmosphere, condition, nutrients and things like that that
- 58:09Speaker 2: their children would need to be able to develop. But
- 58:12Speaker 2: since they are banished to this like to this bubble world,
- 58:15Speaker 2: they can't. Really they're not getting those nutrients. Their children
- 58:18Speaker 2: are being born with compression sickness, and it's not it's.
- 58:22Speaker 1: No no, no, no.
- 58:26Speaker 2: No no no no here. So through this, Carl also
- 58:38Speaker 2: learns that there's that there are certain components hidden with
- 58:42Speaker 2: throughout certain components hidden throughout the three, the four different zones,
- 58:47Speaker 2: and these components, when brought together, will create something called
- 58:49Speaker 2: the Gate of the Feral Gods. All right, now, the
- 58:52Speaker 2: Gate of the Faro Gods is dangerous because while the
- 58:55Speaker 2: Gate of the is very useful, but also very dangerous
- 58:58Speaker 2: because it's very useful and the fact that it can
- 59:02Speaker 2: open a gateway to literally any location no restrictions whatsoever.
- 59:06Speaker 2: That includes different floors, yes, exactly. Now, of course they
- 59:12Speaker 2: can't go back to like one of the higher one
- 59:13Speaker 2: of the higher floors, like floor one or two. There's
- 59:16Speaker 2: a certain yeah, those floors have been collapsed, so they're
- 59:19Speaker 2: no longer active.
- 59:21Speaker 1: But they can open some of the future floors.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Exactly, So they could byplass and biplass bypass entire floors completely.
- 59:30Speaker 2: And so Carl like the thing is, Carl has been
- 59:35Speaker 2: using the Dungeon Crawlers Cookbook, the Dungeon Anarchists Book more
- 59:39Speaker 2: and more, and he's getting more and more ideas of
- 59:40Speaker 2: being like rebell He's not just like causing anarchy. He's
- 59:43Speaker 2: straight up being rebellious.
- 59:45Speaker 1: As pushing out. He's pushing the button. See how far
- 59:50Speaker 1: he can get without getting in serious trouble.
- 59:53Speaker 2: And there are several times where he does get into
- 59:54Speaker 2: serious trouble. But the problem is is that it seems
- 59:58Speaker 2: like it's clear to the to the showrunners because by
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: this point, the Borant Company has been taken over by
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: the Volta Corporation the Boran Yep, the Boran Company had
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: been had started the Dungeon Crawl a full season early
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: because they were they were highly in debt. They were
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: on the verge of bankruptcy and also repossession because most
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: of their debt was to the Voltai Corporation and the
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Vaulta were like breathing down the back. They were trying
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: to like their creditors were trying to get payments and
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: try to like take like, hey, you're past due, you
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: need to pay up. So they started this season early
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: so they can one bring it, start bringing in like
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: a huge flow of money and start paying off their
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: debts and keep the Vaulta from completely taking over their
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: home system. But the thing is is that they still
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: end up failing because uh, and it's no small parts
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: because of Carl Carl, and also because of their own
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: internal dilemma. The Borran Company, the Borran, the Borran Systems,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: like their race in general, is run by uh is
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: run by a somewhat like a eugenist party similar to
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: the Nazis, Like they were very like one, they were
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: very isolationists, so they they look down on other alien races.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: So if you're not if you're not a mud skipper,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: you're trash. And I will say mud skipper is considered
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: a very like derogatory term for the for the Borant fishes.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: So wait, no, they're called they're called Couthon. They're called yeah,
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Kuwatson or something like.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: That similar to that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so they're the proper name is Quatson. But the
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: but the company that runs the whole show right now
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: is the Boran Comfort Corporation. Thing is though, like the
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Kuwatson ended up getting involved in like a civil war,
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: so their whole system collapses anyway, and their system ends
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: up collapsing and the Vaulta come in and they take over.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: That the whole takeover happens like between book four and five,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: so like it trans so like by the time it
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: gets to book five, that's when the Voltaire go almost
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: completely taking over. And uh, that's like and it really
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: like affects like how the game is run, but for
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: the because the because the Vaulta. Their dungeon crawls are
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: tend to have more high tech influence and more like
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: like tech based levels in class or as the Boring
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Corporation kept it more medieval and more like traditional fantasy style. Yeah,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: and uh, the thing is is that their original handler,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: uh oh shit, what was the original handler's name?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Zev? We're talking you're talking about you talk about the
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: their little like pr manager, yeahv.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Devv oh Zev yeah, Zev. Okay. So the thing is
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: is that when say the Quwatson had Begon had become
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: more isolationists, and because the like Eugenus party was taking
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: was trying to like impose more control on the Borac
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: company and they're like what they're airing on the dungeon crawl,
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: they end up replacing Zev with another more loyal quats
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: In and her name is Loysa. Fuck her. She's uh
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: huh just like they they're both straight up like not
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: having it with her. Like she's like she threatens to
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: like put them in time out a lot, to like
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: a lot of put up restrictions on them, and she
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: keeps putting them on to show like certain shows that
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: are meant to like control the narrative of the of
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: the show. And the thing is is that they the
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: thing is, Lloyda puts them on a show where they
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: have to review like some toys that are being made.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: And one of the toys is like A is a
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: donut toy and A the doughnut toy is meant to
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: look more realistic too. Uh, He's supposed to be meant
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: to look more realistic and more very lifelike. But it's
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: very cheap, so it's basically nothing like something like you
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: could find in a dollar store, like, but it still
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: has like high tech like machinery and like teching and circuitry.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: And the thing is is that Carl like he's trying,
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: like he keeps doing things to like subtly like fuck
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: with the company, like fuck with the Boran and the showrunners,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: and he ends up sabotaging the toy that they were
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: sent to review and he leaves it in the he
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: leaves it in the trailer room with Lousa while he
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: don't go onto the show. And the thing is is that, uh,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: what car, what Carl had meant to do was trying
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: to do wasn't like what he was trying to do
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: was meant to like just cause it to malfunction and
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: like short circuit. It wasn't really meant to like do
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: anything more, just be more of like a nuisance or
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: an inconvenience. The problem is is that what he had done,
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: basically it was just like a sabotage the battery compartment.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: He only wanted it to short circuit and just like
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: go haywire and just die to try to like kind
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: of like fuck with the showrunners and be like, oh, well,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: it looks like this toy that you're trying to promote
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: is cheap and not safe for kids. Right, Well, he
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: proves them. He proves that, but he also proves that
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: it's extremely dangerous because with how easily he was able
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: to sabotage the battery compartment. Because the battery compartment was
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: like one of those standard little battery compartments you'd see
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: on like a like a remote control where it has
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: that little clip on it that you like push and
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: like pull out. So he just basically breaks that part
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: so that way the battery doesn't close like properly, so
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: like the little compartment doesn't close properly, but that somehow
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: causes the battery to catastrophically fail and it explodes, so
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: he gets when that happens, he gets pulled off the show,
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: and it turns out when it explode it when it exploded,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: it killed Loutsa. The explosion kills Lousa and he gets
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: pulled into a timeout room with UH with A with
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: a syndicate liaison named Oran. Oran is a Volta is
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: part of the Volta And the thing is is that
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: they highly suspect that he is UH that one, that
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: he deliberately killed Lotsa, but they can't prove it because
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: despite looking at everything, they don't really they can't really
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: see what Carl did. All they see is like he
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: placed the toy down and the toy like being very lifelike.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: He enable to take voice commands, stuck by Loyda because
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Carl says stay by Loyda, and then it exploded. So
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: they're like, we're pretty sure you did that on purpose,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: but we can't prove it. So you're we're just gonna
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: like put you on a bit of a time out,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: like we're just gonna give you a slap on the wrists.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: They so they have to like let them go. The
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: problem is is that while they were gone, they have
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: been gone for like they've been held basically in contempt
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: for like five days while they while they were being investigated.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: So now they have to really they have to work
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: harder to try to get make sure the last threes,
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: the last two zones are free so they can get
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: out of there all right, because already it's been like
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: it's already been like several days when from the start
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: of the floor and then they get and this happens,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: and now five more days. They have less than five
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: days left. At this point, they're like they're stressing for time,
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: So so they go, so they make their way. Now
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: that the water zone and the air zoners are completely liberated,
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: they go down to the land zone to help to
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: help the crawlers there to liberate the the castle. The
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: thing is, the thing about the castle is that while
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: they were able to capture it, they haven't been able
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: to get inside it because it comes because there's like
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: a certain series of like it's like the gate to it,
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: oh like comes and goes. And the thing is there's
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: not enough time for them to go in and like
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: get it. So Carlon Donut come up the plan them
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: with Katya enter they sand enter the castle it's basically
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: a big old sand castle, and the only time the
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: castle opens itself is when like the whole castle turns
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: to glass. And then there's like an actual doorway that opens.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: So they go in and they meet the So they
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: go in there exploring. They see that they find a
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: statue of a goddess named Lika or like of some
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: figure named Lika, and Mango accidentally shatters it and the
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: whole thing falls to pieces. The only thing left of
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: it is a head, and for some reason they keep
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: the head. Uh. They find the mad mage, the mad
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Mage in this in the basement, and it reveals that
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: then they learned that this guy had tried to use
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: the Gate of the pharaoh gods to summon a goddess
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: name you're Rillo, and they and get her to make
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: us to make a person name some other person named
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Leka to fall in love with him. So Lika was
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: like a real person and this guy and the mad
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: mage name Ghazi, was like madly in love with her,
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: but it was one way. If it was one way,
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: so he wanted to summon a godess to try to
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: like get her to fall in love with him. Yeah,
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: problem is when he opened the gate of the pharaoh Gods.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: The thing is is that the gate of the pharaoh
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Gods opened also causes a doorway to open into the void.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: And the thing is when things that are that are
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: in the void, that could lost in the void, they
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: become something called feral. So you go mad with you,
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: you go completely insane and it and like if you
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: even if you survive it, and if you come out,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: you're no longer the same. So any gods or demons
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: that get trapped in there go completely insane, and if
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: they come out, they're like, no, boy, no. The thing
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: is when he tried to summon the goddess, he tried
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: to like he use the gate to try to summon
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: a goddess named Yurillo, but unfortunate but instead of Urillo,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: out came another goddess named Samantha.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: Love Samantha love her.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: So her proper name is Samanthi or Samanthe or something
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: like that. Like the spelling is like pc P s
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: A M A T h E like Samanth or Samanthy.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: But everyone calls her Samantha. We'll get to her. She's
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: not she's not here yet, but we'll get to her.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Because Samanthy has a child, and the child is a
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: sand Ooz and the sam use Is turns out is
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: the real boss. Uh So they have to take so
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: they take so they have to take Ghazi and also
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: his part of the piece of the gate of the
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Paraoh gods with him, because the gate of the Parao gods,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: uh is, it's not like an actual like gate. It
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: just it's just an artifact that opens a portal. And
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: the artifact itself looks like a music box, like a
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: kind of like a time piece turner, like a time
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: piece box, and like components consist of like a like
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: a music box, and like a like a winding box,
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: and like a couple of clocks and like pocket watches.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: And uh so, the way they they managed they finally
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: managed to defeat the sand Ows. They and the thing is,
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: the sandus Is is immortal, so it can't truly die,
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: but they're able to defeat it to the point that
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: it liberates the castle and they are able to access
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: now have access to the stairway and the land and
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the land castle. The land zone is now liberated, so
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: they can finally go and liberate the subterranean castle. The
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: thing is is that when they they escape. The thing
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: is is that the castle, the sand castle collapses since
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: it's been liberated, and when they escape. When they escape
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: the Katia ends up killing Ghazi because Ghazi has some
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: other information that they need, so she kills him and
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: takes the notes explaining how to use the gate of
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: the Feral Gods. And Carl and Donut when they uh,
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: because they knew that the thing is is like when
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: the when the castle collapses, Katia manages to escape, but
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Carl and Donut get trapped in the sand. So several
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: other crawlers who had access to a special like gate,
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: to a gate that leads into the subterranean zone. Uh,
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: they open it and all the water that was in
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: it starts floating, flooding out, and it washes away the sand.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: So Carl and Donat get they get freed from the sand,
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: but they get washed into the water zone. Yeah, this
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: is where Now, this is where this book comes in,
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: where this line comes in.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Cats do you swim in?
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: And here's the thing. Donut has a severe fear of water.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: Now she can take a shower. She doesn't mind taking shower,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: she doesn't mind getting wet in the rain. But if
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: you put her in a bath or into like a
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: pool of water, or she's underwater, she completely freaks out. Yeah,
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: Like in this scene, like when so so Donut got
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: knocked out and like crawls in the water and he
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: starts trying to he grabs her and starts swimming up
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: to the surface with her. Thing is that the flow
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: of water coming out of the gate that was open
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: is like pushing them deeper. So he has to flow
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: out of the current and like try to get his
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: way make his way up. He has to keep taking
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: water breathing scrolls to keep from drowning. And as he's
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: flying up, you remember he's like trying to get up
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: before Donut wakes up, because he has a flashback of
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: back before the crawl, before the collapse, when he once
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: tried to give Donut a bath. Yeah, yeah, Donut ended
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: up making a mess and he had to like grab
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: her and toss her into the bathtub to clean her off.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: But when he tried that, she freak ended up freaking up,
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: freaking out so bad that by the end of it,
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: he ended up in the hospital and had to get
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: stitches on his face. And the same thing happens here
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: Donut like wakes up while they're still in the water,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: and she is freaking out. She's like streaming, crying and
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: like flailing and Carl has to grab her and basically
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: like hold her tight keep her drowning. Yeah, and has
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: to keep like and has to keep like casting water
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: breathing spell on her to keep her from drowning. They
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: managed to get out of there, and she's like, you know,
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: like cat out.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Of water, like put does up. There's a wet cat
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: of just shivering and shagging like.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Yep. So Katia. When they get back to the land, Uh,
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: when they had to get back into the land quadrant,
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: they meet up with Katia again, she says the gate
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: can open. Uh, they finally realized the gate can. That's
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: when they learned, like the gate can open portals to anywhere,
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: including the city of Loracos.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: So the thing is, though they can't teleport between floors,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: so there's still like a caveat. They can use it
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: to teleport pretty much anywhere within the floor, but like,
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: while it can open portals to other floors, crawlers themselves
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: cannot go to those other floors. Yeah, but there's nothing
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: about NPCs that's true. And when they learned. After learning this,
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: they discovered that the Leka sextall head. So the thing
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: is that that broken glass head that it kept turns
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: out the in it's when it's not glass and it's
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: real form. It actually was a plastic sextall. So the
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: head of a plastic sextall, and this particular sext all
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: head is is possessed by the spirit of Samanthi, the
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: feral goddess that Giza had, that Gazi had Uh had
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: summoned from the void. And she's gonna kill your mother.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna kill your mother. She has like a weird
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: like in the I Love the way they voice her
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: in the audiobook, she sounds Russian, m it's great, it's great,
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: love sam.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: So when she the thing is when the castle was,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: when castle collapsed and everything uncrystallized, so did the sext
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: all head. And when it comes to life, Samanthy is
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: like yelling and streaming, trying to tell like like she's
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: possessed by it's possessed by half of the soul of
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: Samantha or Samantha, and it's she tried to escape the
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: the void or the nothing as they call it. And
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: the thing is is that she got trapped in the
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: body of the of a sex doll, and she's been
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: trying to get the gates open so she can get
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: her full spirit back and also get her body back too.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: And she's she's telling them like they decide to keep her,
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: but it's funny because like they're like they're trying to
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: get more information at her, but she's spazzing out and
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: threatening them, and like she's she she tries threatening Carl
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: and like she'd already said, I'm gonna kill her mother,
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: and like he's holding her and she's like, if you
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: don't do what I say, I'm going to He's like,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: you're gonna kill my mother. She starts, and she starts
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: bawling her eyes out.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: And for those of you who want to know, Samantha
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: is the Goddess of unrequited love.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: Or as I like to say, the Goddess of Delulu,
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: the goddess, she's the goddess of Delulu. You ever have
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: that Delulu friend who's like I can change him. This
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: is her spirit animal. Samantha is the spirit is the
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: spirit animal Delulu.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Mhm. She most certainly is mm hm.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: Anyway, so they realized that that, uh so they keep.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: They they decided to keep Samantha and they hire her
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: as a trainer and keep her and keep her in
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: their safe room. Let's see here is this where.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Come in my sweet child?
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Jerus sorry, I'm just yeah. So we're getting we're getting
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: near to the end of the book. So a lot
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: happens near the end of the book. So despite having
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: cleared the land, UH cleared the land zone and water
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: and sky zones, the subtradean zone is still inaccessible because
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: when the water zone had been conquered the UH, the
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: boss that was controlling the water zones castle, caused the
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: submarine to dock with a special pump that leads directly
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: into the subterranean zone, and the submarine has been continuously
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: pumping water into the subterranean zone. So they need to
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: find a way to access the submarine the subterranean zone
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: in order to get in order to liberate that castle.
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: So Carl Donut and several others go down into the
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: water zone. They have some of the other crawlers helping
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: them drop special chum bombs in the water.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: To lure away a lot.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Of the shark mobs that are down there so they
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: can get so they can get access to the submarine.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: To get access to the submarine, but not before coming
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: across two major bosses. One is the case of Kolotlas
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: Spirit and the other is a massive shark to Puss Huge,
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: This thing is like God's like Godzilla size like massive
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: creature and this start up starting a boss fight. When
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: they're in the submarine, God Carl, Carl finds the dead
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: body of the boss of the boss of the that
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: was controlling the submarine, and that boss had the last
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: component of the gate of the Feral Gods, so he
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: takes it. And the thing is they're trapped in that
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: boss fight with the shark. To Puss and Carl manages
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: to kill it. They managed to like get out of
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: the submarine as it gets chomped in half and swallowed
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: by the shark. To Puss and Carl uses his special
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: shield ability so his shorts are able, his h his
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: underwear are able to summon up a impenetrable barrier around himself.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: It only works on it only protects him completely from
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: physical damage, but from like magic and spirit damage. That
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: doesn't do anything, but it's very effective. Problem is is
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: that when you activate it, it will only it's a
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: it stays in a fixed point, so it doesn't move.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: So when because the shark is like like has like
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: has chopped onto the submarine and is swimming around the bubble,
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: when Carl activates his shield bubble, he does this on purpose.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: By the way, the bubble like stays in place while
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: they're still moving, so that you see the bubble just
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: like stay in places they're moving away from it. But
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: because it's in a fixed place, and it also because
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: it is impenetrable, when it goes deeper into the shark's gullet,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: it hits a point where the shark can't go any further,
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: and you see the shark's like whole body kind of
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: like bended snap and like snap as a like internal
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: part of the bubble like bubble hits a part of
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: an immovable part of its body. So it ends up
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: killing itself.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: It sure does.
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: Yeah, so it ends up killing himself. It's ends up
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: killing itself. And uh, let's see here they managed to
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: escape and get back to the surface, and uh they
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: also learn when they want. He loots the body of
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: the of the submarine boss to get the gates component
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: the last to get the gate of the Parao God's
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: final component. He also finds a note that the Kates
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: of Kuwatlas can be killed by electric shot, which he
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: which he tells to the other to the other crawlers
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: for a special plan. So after killing after killing it,
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: they run, they put the gate together and open a
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: portal to get back to the land zone. And when
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: he does this this whenever the gate of the pharaoh
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: God opens, this allows at the very least one Faral
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: God or one Faral being trapped in the nothing to escape.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: And the thing is when they the paralh God in
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: question is actually a giant, a giant three headed dog
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: named Orthris. But Orthris is a puppy. Oh yeah, it's
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: just a puppy, and it's just it's so cute too,
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: because it's like it. The thing is is because it's
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: a puppy, the the effects of the nothing have little
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: to no effect on it, so it's still innocent. It's
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: still very sweet. But this thing is massive, huge, massive puppy.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: Now after escaping, after escaping, let me see.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: We see.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: The thing is they end up using. The thing is
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: is that when they when Orthris comes out of the nothing.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: This also triggers whenever a paralh god escapes from the
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: from the nothing. This triggers a god to take action
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: and appear in the same zone or in the same
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: world as it, to track it down and try to
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: send it back to the nothing. In this case, the god,
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: the god of the Son named Embress. Embress appears because
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: Orthris is actually Orthris actually belonged to Embrus's son. And
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: the thing is, there's like a whole back story that
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: unfortunately Carl and Donut gets caught up in. And Embress
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: is trying to find who killed his son and when
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: he when he detests, when he senses that his son's
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: dog has escaped and nothing he comes to, he comes
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: so he could try to find and take the dog
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: back to the celestial realm with him. Let's see so
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: when so when Embress appears and it's looking for the
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: h and is looking for Orthris, the Orthris the puppy, uh,
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: they get a quest. Everyone gets a quest where called
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: where the Red God blows? Now we'll say the dungeon
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: AI being more unhinged and more like problematic in this floor,
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: it creates multiple different quests that often contradict each other
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: or like compete with each other. So while half of
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: the crawlers may get a quest saying they need to
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: protect something, the other half will get a quest saying
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: that they need to destroy that something. So so Carl
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: and his sking gets it, gets it, gets this quest
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: the or is it where the Red God glows. But
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: then other crawlers, particularly one crawler who I fucking hate,
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: fuck that guy. His name is Kwan h Quanh is
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: a fucking cut like hate that motherfucker he gets. He
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: is known as a He's what is called a skill stealer,
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: like a kill a kill kill steeler, like he'll our
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: achievement steeler. He will. His whole build is is built
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: so that way he's able to like quickly swoop in
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: and like steal like loot kills. He basically causes his
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: whole thing. It's just causes chaos. So if you're in
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: the middle of a quest, odds are he has a
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: quest of his own where that's meant to like just
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: disrupt what you're doing. So multiple times already Kwan has
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: already has already fucked up several of Carl's plans, Like
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: one time Carl was trying, like one time back in
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: the Iron Tangle, Carl was trying to help, was trying
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: to help a bunch of his a bunch of other
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: crawlers escape and we're trying to specifically like distract certain mobs.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: But then Kwan shows up starts killing mobs and Carl,
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: and Carl tries to like fight Kwan off, but Kwan,
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: who his whole his whole thing is not to like
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: get into direct confrontation, immediately escapes. He just goes in,
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: steals stats and then leaves buncsh it up and then leaves.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: He's annoying. It's and the thing what's more infuriating about
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: Kwan is that when at the end of book two,
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: when they were just finished, when everyone survived the doomsday,
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: that doomsday scenario that was going to blow up everybody
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: on the on that floor because all these crawlers survived
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: because of what Carl had done, the AI decided to
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: give everyone celestial loot boxes. But the problem is celestial
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: loot boxes are insanely expensive because when you when a
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: celestial loot box is given out, like they're not free
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: like the bank. The showrunners are paying for it. And
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: because of how ridiculously expensive they are, they usually only
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: give out one or two loot boxes every season three
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: at the most, but the fact that there was dozens,
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: like hundreds of these loop boxes being given out, the
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: showrunners had to use their seasonal one of their seasonal
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: vetos on the on the Ai to stop it. But
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: that was not before Kwan was able to open his
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: want the the celestial loot box he got. So because
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: of that, he got a special cloak that gave him
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: a bunch of really like busted abilities and like it
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: basically allows him to fly, allows him to like shoot
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: lightning bolts out of his hands, and it also gives
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: him like extra stats that are specifically tailored to allow
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: him to steal stats all right, steal like steal loot,
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: steal stats, steal achievements, all that shit. Right, Like you
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: ever play a game and you're trying to beat a
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: special like a specific boss, get an achievement, and then
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: someone else swoops in, does it, gets the achievement and
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: you get nothing. That's him, that's him, officer, that's him, officer.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: So so we're gonna come back to that. That quant
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: is gonna come in and function up or try to
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: function up. But the thing is is that they're still
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: slocked in their bubble, and they still have to liberate
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: the uh the Subtrainean son. But because they now know
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: that the Kise of Kwatlas can be killed guy through electrocution,
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: the crawlers come up with an idea to use a
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: electric panel a found to like basically to shock the
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: case of Quatlas while it's still in the sub the
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: subterranean zone, which is still completely flooded. So they do that,
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: They shock the whole They electrocute the water, killing the
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: kits of Quatless, which is the main boss of the
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: subterranean castle, and that liberates the castle. So now their
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: bubble pops. So the bubble is like a barrier and
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: it pops, So now they have access to the rest
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: of the floor. Carl and his team come up with
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: an idea to begin like not only this idea is
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: meant to cause chaos while also helping other crawlers get
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: out of their bubbles. Yeah, right, help liberate their bubbles
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: by causing chaos and just giving them more opportunities to
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: like get out of it. And so basically what they
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: do is they start opening more like they start opening
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: the gate of the pharaoh gods multiple times so one
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: of the times that they open it was meant to
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: like send crawlers from one like send some of the
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: crawlers from their bubble to one of the other bubbles,
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: or to like one of the stairways to be ready
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: to leave. They opened a portal directly down into the
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: ninth floor in a racket uh to right down to
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: the loracos, and basically the he sends the change links there.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: So all the change links get sent down to loracos. Yeah,
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: oh wait, I'm sorry, they send them not to the
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: ninth floor. They send them to the sixth floor.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Yes, it sends to the sixth floor.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: They send them all to the sixth floor. So they
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: send the change to the sixth floor. They sent and
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: they opened more and more portals to like just and doing.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: They do this on purpose to get to cause feral
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: gods to appear and also cause celestials to appear, celestial
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: gods to appear to take care of them, cause chaos,
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: cause like just like cause as much problems as possible.
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: The thing is now going back to that the quest
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: they were given. They have to protect Orthris the puppy
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: and reunite him with Embress and Embress. The thing is,
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: Embress is blind, so he can't really see or find
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: where the dog is, so they have to try to
- 1:33:35Speaker 2: get the dog to Embress or get Embres to come
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: to them. So they think, all right, you know, let's
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: just get the dog, like lure the puppy over to Embress. Right,
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: so they started escorting the puppy to Embress. But the
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: thing is is that Kwan Chi had been given or
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: Kuwan cih had been given a had been given an
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: alternate quest to kill the dog. So he comes running
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: in and he starts to tack sucking Orthriss. This pisses
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Karl off. He's trying to tell him, Hey, if we
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: do this, everyone's gonna If you kill this dog, everyone
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: is gonna die. Orthross is gonna kill Everybody's like, I
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: don't give a fuck, Like I don't give a funk.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna get a huge bonus out of this. So
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: Carl ends up fighting Kuwan See, which is pretty hard
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: because Kwan is able to fly, but Carl manages to
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: like shoot, like managed to chuck one of his hoblobber
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: his hobb lobbers at him, which so Carl has been
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: working on like me on like crafting components, and he
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: was given a special uh, he was given like a
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: special like basket thing Like it's like a it's kind
- 1:34:41Speaker 2: of like a almost like a lacrosse basket, except it's
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: something that attaches to his gauntlet, so he's able to
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: like put like bombs in it. He's able to put
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: his uh other like things that allow him to like
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: chuck things, so he's able to lob grenades at for
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: other distances and everything like that. So he uses this
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: to like knock Quan Chi down, Quan sh down, and
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: uh he attacks him and the thing is Kwan, realizing
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: that he's about to get his his ship wrecked, uses
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: one of his escape skills to like launch himself out
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: of harm's way. But when he does this, Carl grabs
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: onto him. And because Carl had recently like maxed out
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: his strength, like he holds on tight and Kwan like
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: because Kwan's own skill is meant to like launch him
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: away from the fight. Like it's a flight like kind
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: of like a catapulting spelled but like it uses but
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: it's meant for like him to like almost like a
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: like an injection seat kind of skill, so it launches
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: him at at like high velocity out of Harm's way.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: But when like Carl grabs onto him and Kwan ends
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: up like activating that skill, Carl ends up ripping off
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: Kwan's arm.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Deserved deserve. I was like, you get what you get deserved.
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: You get you get what you deserve.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Games. He wins to be prized.
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: Mhmm. Quan uh. Thing is like one because he has
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: the he because he had the celestial that his celestial cloak.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: He actually almost killed.
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: Carl, but Carl uh uh, and desperation decides like, all right,
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: well we can't get Or realizes that they're not gonna
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: be able to get Orthros to the Embress, so he
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: decides to get Embres to him.
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: So he goes into his menu, goes to the celestial tab,
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: because you can choose to worship of God in this game.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: But the thing is, Mordecai warned them, don't worship God's
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: You're gonna be put up. You're gonna be like, uh,
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: you're gonna be required to give tidings, You're gonna be
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: required to go on stupid, ridiculous quests and oftentimes if
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: you fail, you'll get smited, and it's not worth it,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: but realizing that okay, well we're gonna fail and everyone's
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: gonna die, he chooses to worship start worshiping Embress, and
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: because of that he's able to summon Embress. So he
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: summons Embress. Embers appears and uh m hm Embus appears
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: and uh throws a celestial this like gives so like
- 1:37:15Speaker 2: the Embress appears. Uh this just this like provides enough
- 1:37:18Speaker 2: of distraction for Carl to like get the upper hand
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: on kwand quand tries to escape, but not before the
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: call whrips off of his arm, and like Kuan had
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: like several cool powerprings on his arm. So Carl's like,
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: oh mine, now mine mine mind there a mind. So
- 1:37:36Speaker 2: now being an alcohaloid of Empress, he has to follow
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: these rules and he now has access to Club the Desperado.
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: Club's uh companion, the Club Vanquisher. So Club Vanquishers, for like,
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: you only get access if you are like if you
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: have a cleric base. Uh, if you have like a
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: cleric based class and you worship of God. So if
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: you were ship of God, you have automatic access to
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: Club Vanquisher, which is where all the temples of these
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: gods are. Like shrines and temples are UH. And he
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: also gets two quests from more worshiping Embress, and that
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: is find out who killed my son and kill Helck
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: so so Embres. As I mentioned before, his son was killed.
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: His son was murdered, and he's been and he's been
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: like trying trying to find who killed his son for
- 1:38:25Speaker 2: out of vengeance. And the thing is is he wants
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: The thing is that Embers believes that his own, his
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: own brother, the god Helick, had killed his son. So
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: part so the other mission that he has given. The
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: other quest that he's given is to kill Helic And
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: if he fails either of these before reaching a certain floor,
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: he will get smited. So me my so Carl and
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: so from this point, now that they've completed the quest,
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: Embrus has taken Orthors back to level twelve the Celestial Uh,
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: the celestial realm UH. Carl and Donna and the and
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: the rest of the gang start used to keep using
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: the gate of the Farol gods to start opening portals
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: to like other bubbles. Because there's some in some bubbles,
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: the crawlers that are trapped there can't even complete the
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: quest because there's either not enough crawlers or they're not
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: high enough level to even get far enough into it.
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: So they decide, all right, cool, We're going to use
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: the gate to enter these these bubbles, UH rescue as
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: many of the crawlers there as possible and help them
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: get to like unlocked to unlocked stairways. And once they've
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: rescued all the crawlers they can, Don't and Donut and
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: Carl travel back to their bubble, and they and they
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: decided to start uh heading down the stairs, and from
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: there Carl comes reveals a new plan of his There
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: he tells he says he wants to open he wants
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: to open a portal down to the ninth floor to
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: try to release a feralh god onto the ninth floor. Mhmm,
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: let me see, all right, So the thing is is
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: that Carl, what Carl started doing was he revealed everyone
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: that he wants to he wants to try to release
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: a Faroh god into the ninth floor on Moroccos. All right,
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: but he does this on purpose, He says it out
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: loud for the show runners and everyone's here, because he
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: he has suspicions that other that other crawlers, especially a
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: certain player killer crawler is getting direct like outside help
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: because Maggie is being sponsored by by Prince Maestro of
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: the of the Skull Empire, the York Empire, all right,
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: so he knows that the showrunners are watching these player
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: killers are being are getting inside information, so he's deliberately
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: like misleading them. And so they decide, Uh. So they
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: come up with the plan They're gonna Katia. They come
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: up with their plan to release the faroh God. Katia
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: tells Carl and Donut that when they when they get
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: to the to the sixth floor, she wants to split
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: up with that. She wants to split up so she
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: can find the other daughters of Daughters of Eva. So
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Eva was the was the crawler from the fourth floor
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: that Katia ended up killing.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: This and she had been she had been collecting other
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: female crawlers because of a special perk that her crossbow
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: had given her that got stronger every time the more
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: female crawlers that were around her. So Carl opens a
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: new another portal in this portal is where is the
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: portal that leads down into the sixth floor. Uh. And
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: they let and they allowed the changelings that have been
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: trapped on this floor to start going down into the
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: sixth floor, and Carl and Donut and the last and
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: one last changeling named Juice Box. Whose Juice Box, who
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: was disguised as like a as a prostitute on the
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: sky in the sky Zone, she's actually a very high level.
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: She's a very high a little changeling and she was
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: she was also the leader of the other changelings, so
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: she so she stays with them while they wait for
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: the to initiate the final part of their plan, and
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: Concia heads to the water quadrant. The thing is is
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: that while they're waiting, a feral demon that had gotten
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: released when they opened the portals, UH comes looking for
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: Samantha and wanting to distract keep wanting to keep it distracted. Uh.
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: They let her. They let Samantha out of the out
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: of the safe room and allowed to and allow Samantha
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: to try to fight the demon. Thing is is that
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: they did this on purpose because they knew that if
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: they kept Samantha exposed long enough. And Samantha's mother, the goddess,
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: I forgot her name and it doesn't sit and I
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: forgot to write down her name here. I think it's a.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: Let me see.
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: It was actually Ghazi that was trying to summon her earlier.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: Oh Urilla, so Samantha's mother. Urillo was was attracted by
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: Samantha's presence and she she appears in the UH. She
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: appears on the floor, She kills the feral demon named
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: Silt named Slit, and disappears. What after that? After the
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: in the Chaos UH. In the wake of the chaos
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: that this fight caused, UH, Maggie and Chris who Maggie,
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: who had managed to get out of the subterranean zone,
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: attacks Carl. But Carl had been given a special potion
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: in one of his recent loop box like sponsor boxes
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: called Phase. It's called a phase lava rock potion. So
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: this is actually a good a good potion because it
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: allows the person who uses it to be able to
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: phase through lava rock and because since Chris's race is
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: an igneous a lava rock gulam creature, he was able
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: to pass through Chris's body and grab Maggie's parasite worm.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: When he grabs her worm, he pulls her out and
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: crushes her, killing Maggie from period gone. Maggie's dead, Chris
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: has been freed. Is freed thing is It's kind of
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: like I will say, after they free Chris, there's not
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: much closure. They don't get much closer closure with Chris.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: I mean, Carl is like because Carl felt some guilt
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: over when it came to Chris, because Chris's brother had
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: died during one of Carl's previous plans and Carl felt
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: felt responsible for that. But there's not But after Chris
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: is freed and they go to the sixth floor, Chris
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: just goes off on his own and there's not much
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: like there's not much like that passes between them. It
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: just seems like, all right, well, I'm gonna go fuck
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: off and do my own thing now, like find my
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: own path. But which is understandable, I guess, like you know,
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: he has he has a lot to unpack since he
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: was being controlled by a murderous player killer. The thing
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: is is that Carl revealed before they go down into
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: the sixth floor. Carl reveals that they're not actually sending
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: a feral god down into Loracos but there, but they
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: are opening a portal down to Loracos instead. What so,
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: what had what Carl had done is that he had
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: given the gate of the Farral Gods to Latia, to
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: Katya and Katia went down into the went down to
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: the into the pretty much to the bottom floor, to
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: the bottom of the water zone, and she opens the
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: gate in there. So as soon as the gate of
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: the faril God opens in the water, all this water
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: begins draining through the portal and draining out into the
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: to the bottom floor of Lauracas. Because the way the
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: Loracos is built, it's built like a kind of like
- 1:46:55Speaker 2: a inverted pyramid. So instead of like a pyramid like
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: being built up like you know, up to the sky,
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: it's built down so it's like a rectangle. The city
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: is like a circular level based city that goes down
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: into a pit like Uh, have you ever seen like
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: videos or pictures of that huge mine in Russia where
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: it's literally like this big pit that they dug from
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: all the mining they did. It's basically if it's basically that,
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: but if a city had been built into it, so
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: in the very bottom floors like where of course the
- 1:47:27Speaker 2: castle is like you have to capture that castle in
- 1:47:30Speaker 2: order to uh, in order to capture the roccos. And
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: and also like when the floor when the fashion wars, uh,
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: but the but the bottom floor is filled with like
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: uh like it has a Desperado Club entrance. It has
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: all these vendors and NPCs and pretty much like like
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: when during the Faction Wars, a lot of like the
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: Faction Wars, uh, outside players come in like a so
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: like other like the showrunners allow uh different factions from
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: around the syndicate in the galaxy to come down. Uh
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: basically play war games, because that's all the Faction Wars
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: is is a war game between different cit is, like
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: a war game between different syndicate races like Skull Empire,
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: the Dream the Reavers, the Mantids, all these different factions, right,
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: and then it's just basically one big war game. Now
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: typically the faction leaders and there the faction leaders are
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: granted special kind of immortality, so you can't kill them
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: or and some of their lieutenants. But you can't kill
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: them or some of their and some of their lieutenants.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: But uh something, some shit's gonna happen. It's not gonna
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: be revealed until like the next couple of books, so
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: we're not gonna worry about that right here just yet.
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: So they opened the portal down into the ninth floor,
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: sending a using the gate to send a flood into
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: the Lo Racos and uh drinking water from the water quadrant,
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: and it kills and not just water gets sucked into
- 1:49:06Speaker 2: the portal, but mobs like like the shop, like the concierge,
- 1:49:10Speaker 2: sharp mobs, the jellyfishes, all these other like uh like
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: underwater creature like killer mobs gets sucked into the portal
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: and they all get drained into Iraq, into Loroccos. And
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: this actually causes a lot of chaos, not just for
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: the not just for the ninth floor, but for the
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: showrunners because the ninth floor has shops and vendors that
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: these that the faction war that the faction leaders can
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: use to purchase like all these different kinds of materials
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: and ship for their armies and all this stuff. It's
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: meant to be like a big thing for like like
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: a like a cat. It's like one big cash grab.
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: And it because Carl ends up flooding the city, that
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: completely disrupts it. And after that happens and U the
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: thing is they open another portal and sends Juice Box
- 1:50:03Speaker 2: down to Loracos because Juice Box having been awakened quote
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: unquote by Carl, because Carl reveals to her that she's
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: just an NPC in a game. In a game, she
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: becomes more self aware and more and her eyes are
- 1:50:16Speaker 2: open to the fact that Dungeon is just nothing more
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: than a game. So he sends her down and she
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: starts sewing more chaos among the faction leaders as they
- 1:50:25Speaker 2: appeared as they begin to arrive on the ninth floor.
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: When uh, just before Carl goes down into the sixth floor,
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: he yells out into He yells out for all the
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: showrunners to see that he plans on killing every single
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: hunter on the sixth floor. So sixth floor is the
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: sixth floor is the next of the themes uh of
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: the theme floors. The first one was floor three with
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: the circus. That was the first of the of the
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: Loraccos Scolopendra uh story arc. The sixth floor is the
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: hunting Grounds. The hunting grounds is gonna be just like
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: the ninth floor where uh not where special non players
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: get to enter the dungeon and basically hunt crawlers for sport.
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: So crawl So these NPCs are real, are real people
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: from the different factions. Then the syndicate so like orcs
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: elves like all these alien races, the Mantids they send
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: their own hunters down and the purpose of the hunting
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: grounds isn't just for hunt isn't just hunting crawlers for sport,
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: but it's also to collect their magic items and other
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: loop so they can use in the faction wars when
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: once they get to the ninth floor, and it's also
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: meant to thin the hurt to then the remaining crawling
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: crawler population as possible, because by the time they reach
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: the tenth floor, most of the crawlers are dead. There's
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: less than if there's less than a few thousand left,
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: but by the end of the fifth floor there's still
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: I think there's still well over two hundred thousand crawlers left.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: So a lot more than originally they were hoping for
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: him predicting.
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: For yeah, there's still way more. Usually by this by
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: the fifth floor there's already like there's less than twenty thousand. Yeah,
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: But because of what Karl had been doing, more and
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: more crawlers are surviving the floors, and he's causing and
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: he's wreaking more habit and they think that he's getting
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: help out there. They think he's getting outside help, but
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: they can't prove it. Problem is they can't prove it.
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: And technically he is getting outside help, but not from
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: someone in the syndicate, but someone from but from people
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: from past floors because of the Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: He got help from the AI by being given the.
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: Cookbook mm hm, which is technically not a cheap it's
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: something that the AI, that the AI built in ages ago,
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: but no one has noticed mm hmm so before. So
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: let me see here. So, uh, that is the end.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: So after making his declaration, Carl goes down into goes
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: down the stairs and enters the sixth floor the hunting grounds,
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: and that's where the story this are. This is where
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: the book officially ends. There isn't epilogue. The epilogue has
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: like like from three different perspectives, like.
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: You're not talking about the epilogue, Well, are you talking
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: about the you're not talking about the A story.
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: No, I'm not talking about the Pineapple Cabaret. No, this
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: is just an epilogue. So Carl had received but uh,
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: Carl and Donnut have you have a sponsorship from a
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: group called the Open Intellect Pacifist Action Network. And uh
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: we see some some uh some people run discussing Carl's
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: progress a man named doctor who Doctor who h doctor
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: like h u and some unnamed woman and they're discussing
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: his progress later uh some later we also see uh.
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: It goes from the perspective of a couple of bounty
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: hunters who are on who illegally entered Earth's surface to
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: search for specific people. So, like the what happens is
- 1:54:38Speaker 2: that this is the showrunners, if there are any like
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: living connections still on the surface, like you, if you're
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: a very popular crawler and you still have family who
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: survived but they didn't enter the dungeon, they will capture. Yeah,
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: they will capture those people and put them in the
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: in the dungeon later on, and they usually and what
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: happens to them is they usually get transformed into an
- 1:55:02Speaker 2: NPC or like some sort of boss mob and basically
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: forced you to fight your own family or loved ones.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: So they were trying to find So these guys were
- 1:55:11Speaker 2: trying to find two people on the walk on the
- 1:55:15Speaker 2: walk on list is what they're called. Uh. So they
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: were trying to find gravy Boat, which was gravy Boat
- 1:55:20Speaker 2: was a stray cat that Donut had a quote unquote
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: fling with and uh. The other person that they were
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: looking for was B, Carl's ex girlfriend and donuts former owner.
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: Because it turns out B is alive. She actually survived.
- 1:55:42Speaker 2: It's actually it's later revealed that B, when after Carl
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: had broken up, had caught her affair and broke up
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: with her by texts. She immediately canceled like her a
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: little vacation, flew back to Seattle. But just as she
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: had landed in Seattle, Seattle and she had walked out
- 1:55:59Speaker 2: of the airport, that's when the collapse happened. She was outside,
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: so she survived. Thing is she also had her boy
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: toy and toe Brad. So like be is like one
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: of those kind of problematic girls. Like I call them
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: problematic because they seem to think that they can fuck
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: around behind their boyfriend's back and then but then like
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: freak out once they get caught. Like they seem to
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: be like they can have they can have their cake
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: and eat it too. Yeah, like, girl, that's not how
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: it works. Okay, you can't just fuck around and play
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: with this man's emotions and then then try to like
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: win him back, like like I mean, I'm gonna be honest,
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: like like I'm not one to give relationship advice because
- 1:56:40Speaker 2: I don't have much like experience with the relationship, but
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: you gotta if you're that kind of person that forgives
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: a cheater and tries to like make it work, you
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: got no self respect, like cheapers cheap, cheers cheap, and
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: that's not gonna change, all right. So, like she thinks
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: the thing is, she thinks that she could convince Carl
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: to take her whole. Bee's mentality was she was she
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: thought that she could win Carl back. But like, girl,
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: you're Delulu, You're Delulu. Carl broke things off with you
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: as soon as he found out that you were cheating.
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: That was it. And like we do get some closure
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: with that later on in the series, later on in
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: the books. But the thing is that these bounty hunters,
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: huh in book five? In book five, yeah, oh yeah,
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: so it happens like literally in the next book. So
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: so the thing is, though the these bounty hunters try
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: to capture b and they also the thing is that
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: Bee was living in a in a camp, was now
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: living in a camp with some other survivors, and uh,
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: like she'd be basically gone completely cuckoo because she couldn't
- 1:57:54Speaker 2: accept the fact that she's just like somehow just can't
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: really wrap her head around the fact that like she
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: got dumped because completely her fault, by the way, and
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: so she's like kind of like an emotional wreck. While
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Brad is still there and he's being he's trying to
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: be all most Chismo like survivalists, but he ends up
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: getting killed by the Bounty Hunters. And the thing is,
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: though the Bounty Hunters themselves get get stopped by someone else,
- 1:58:21Speaker 2: a woman named Lexus. So. Lexus is actually one of
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: one of Ophelia's assistants. So those of you, that's her name, right,
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: the the talk show host Ophelia, I think it's.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: I think it's So or something similar to that, But
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: she's the she's that well known talk show host that
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: they've been going to for quite a bit.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: Yeah, like they're basically, yeah, they're contracted to go. She
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: basically has like first DIBs like on every floor, like
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: at the end of at the beginning of every floor,
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: they go onto her show, and then they also go
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: on to her show a like once halfway through the
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: like halfway through it.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: Uh there.
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: Slot with her was temporarily canceled because of Luita, but
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: as soon as they start the second the sixth floor,
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: they get they get put back on her on her show,
- 1:59:17Speaker 2: what's your name? What's your name? What's your name?
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: What's your name? That's your name?
- 1:59:19Speaker 2: I actually do want to get her name because a
- 1:59:50Speaker 2: dead oh dad, that's I knew it. So the thing
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: is in that so b ends up getting resh, ends
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: up get being rescued by Odette, who uh so Odette
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: having known like it's hinted that Odette that Odette had
- 2:00:08Speaker 2: like her ulter emotives for rescuing beings. But the thing
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: is is that it's a good thing that they did,
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: because they were going to if b had gotten captured
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: by the syndicate, they were going to send her down
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: into the show for Carl to face like to fight.
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: Which you'll find out what character she should have been
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: in the next book.
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: Mm hmm yeah, mm hmm yep, so but think but
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: Odette ends up capturing her instead, and yeah, she brings
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: her in on the on like one of their next shows,
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: like she actually uh. She tells Carl and Donat about
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: it and tells them that, hey, listen, like we found
- 2:00:49Speaker 2: be alive and I brought her and I and I
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: rest took her off. I took her off of Earth,
- 2:00:54Speaker 2: and she's being uh and she's now being sent to
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: live in one of the core worlds. We'll set her
- 2:00:58Speaker 2: up and.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: Knows boilers from this point then this point on right,
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: you stop right there, You stop right there because you're
- 2:01:05Speaker 1: gonna go because you're going to go into their reaction.
- 2:01:07Speaker 1: I don't want that, So stop right there now I'll
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: kill you because that's my favorite part of this. In
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: the next book is when they finally have that face
- 2:01:16Speaker 1: to face. What's so good? But yeah, trust that they
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: they do.
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: Come across her and they have a moment across her. Oh,
- 2:01:27Speaker 2: Debt brings some brings her on the show, and.
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: It's it's good. Get some closure. Well the actually all
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: three of them get some closure in some way, but yeah,
- 2:01:39Speaker 1: in some way.
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: But that is the end of book four, The Gate
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: of the Pharaoh Gods. Uh. The next floor is going
- 2:01:48Speaker 2: to The next book is going to be The Butcher's Masquerade.
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: And just a my favorite book so far of the
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: series so far.
- 2:02:00Speaker 2: Yes, this is my favorite book too, so far. My
- 2:02:02Speaker 2: favorite book in the series, The Butcher's Masquerade six. This
- 2:02:06Speaker 2: is the fifth book in the series and it will
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: be taking place on the sixth floor. My justlexic gases
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: over here, like getting confused with all the floors, like
- 2:02:14Speaker 2: they're on the fifth they're on the fifth book, sixth floor,
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: and this is the hunting grounds, all right, it's exciting. Actually,
- 2:02:22Speaker 2: this is actually my second favorite. My first favorite is
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: the seventh book, The This Inevitable Ruin. I can't I
- 2:02:30Speaker 2: personally can't wait until we get to that book because
- 2:02:32Speaker 2: that one was just Oh, I was so excited, like
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: because when I was just when I started reading the series,
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: this was back, this was last year when I started
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: reading it, This Inevitable Ruin had not been released just yet.
- 2:02:44Speaker 2: So when I finished reading the sixth book, I still
- 2:02:48Speaker 2: had like about like a little over a month before
- 2:02:50Speaker 2: the next book came out. The This Inevitable Ruin was
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: being released, and uh, book six left off on a
- 2:02:58Speaker 2: bit of a cliffhanger. But the thing is is that
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: it was a good cliffhanger because like you get like
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: a hint of what's coming for the next book, and
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: I was so excited. I was like, Oh, let's fucking go,
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: because oh I was so ready.
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: I haven't I'm on book thick. Still I didn't spoil
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: anything good.
- 2:03:18Speaker 2: I didn't spoil anything. I didn't spoil anything. I'm just
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: saying I was so I was so hyped for this
- 2:03:23Speaker 2: for book seven, this inevitable ruin that I was like, Oh,
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: I can't wait, I can't wait. I pre ordered it
- 2:03:30Speaker 2: on Amazon and everything, so as soon as it came out,
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: it got shipped to me. But that but we still got.
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: That's still like three books away. We still got. This
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: is the next of the Dungeon Crawler books that we're
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: gonna be reviewing. We're not We're not gonna review right away.
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: We got some other things coming up.
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: But again, what we're doing on your Car Carl series,
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: like I'm trying to do it, We're trying to do
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: it at least once a month, if not sooner. Like,
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: but except for the month of June, the month of
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: Gym will not have a Carl under Callar Carls, so
- 2:04:01Speaker 1: you won't be getting any of that.
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: I guess June is our month.
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: Juna is Pride month, so that's.
- 2:04:08Speaker 2: For the we're gonna be talking about gash all that month.
- 2:04:12Speaker 1: Four our episodes of gah mm hmm. But thank you
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: all for listening today's episode catch us next time after
