- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31How many of you people out there have children because I will
- 0:35tell you, one of the hardest things in the world is being a
- 0:38parent because you want what's best for them.
- 0:41You're always trying to cultivate a good mindset for
- 0:44them and and do everything that makes them be better than you
- 0:48were. And one of the things that I
- 0:50have learned in the process of parenting, my two wonderful
- 0:53children is that sometimes you have to let them hit the wall
- 0:58and when you don't let them hit the wall and you keep it.
- 1:00Bring them in from the wall, and he keeps tearing them away from
- 1:03it. That doesn't work.
- 1:07So I started thinking about this because my son is hitting the
- 1:11wall. He's very stubborn, and he
- 1:13doesn't always want to do his work.
- 1:15And he's just one of those kids that would much rather be in the
- 1:19woods than doing his work and that's fine.
- 1:22That's who he is as a person. And at the same time I still
- 1:25have to be the parental unit and the voice of reason along with
- 1:29my husband that says no. You still have to do the things
- 1:31you don't like and that hitting the wall is such a part of how
- 1:37we develop as people, but when we get to be adults, we often
- 1:43look at the wall, as I've got to avoid the wall, I've got to
- 1:47avoid the wall and yes, we can focus on working to avoid the
- 1:51wall but sometimes hitting the wall.
- 1:53Really does put you in a place where you're just like, okay.
- 1:56Now I know I need a new Direction there are benefits to
- 1:59hitting the wall my Friends. Some of my best things in life
- 2:04have been. When I've hit a wall and said,
- 2:06hey, I can't do this role anymore, I don't want to be this
- 2:09person in this role anymore. I don't want to be this person
- 2:12in this relationship anymore, and I've hit a wall and I'm
- 2:16done. I like, I hit that proverbial
- 2:18threshold and the straw that broke the camel's back as
- 2:22happened. And we're out and sometimes
- 2:24those lessons while they're difficult and while they're
- 2:28unpleasant and while they are, Challenging.
- 2:31They are just beyond necessary in order to get your butt moving
- 2:37in the next Direction. Because if you don't do that, if
- 2:40you don't allow yourself, the gift of having it happen and it
- 2:45is a gift because sometimes we're more motivated to move
- 2:50through pain. Then we are through pleasure.
- 2:52I mean, we like to believe that we will do more to gain the
- 2:55carrot than we will with the stick.
- 2:58Unfortunately, as humans are Wired.
- 3:01We will do more to avoid pain, most of the time than we ever
- 3:04will to gain the pleasure and as strange as that may sound, if
- 3:09you think about your life and you think about your world, I
- 3:12bet you you will notice that that's the case.
- 3:15So, You have to take a strong focus on where you are hitting
- 3:21the wall right now and saying to yourself, okay, there's the
- 3:26wall. I ran right into it now.
- 3:28What am I going to do? And sometimes that wall comes up
- 3:31in different ways, so really pay attention to the messages.
- 3:34It could come up through the fact that your body is just
- 3:37hurting all the time. And I mean, I know, listen, when
- 3:40I go out and I eat certain kinds of food, the next day, I'm going
- 3:43to be absolutely uncomfortable and freakin miserable.
- 3:46Able because I ate something that bothered my body.
- 3:49I know, gluten, my daughter eats gluten and she will suffer when
- 3:54she eats it and sometimes it happens, and boom, here you are
- 3:58and you're suffering or somebody who says, you know what, I want
- 4:01to lose weight and then I go to lose the weight but I just don't
- 4:06hold myself accountable to the place that I've said, I want to
- 4:09be and but the body has hit the wall.
- 4:12The body is telling you, I need you.
- 4:14I need your participation in helping.
- 4:16Help you help you help me. It's that situation.
- 4:20I really want to fix myself. Stop eating this crap.
- 4:24So look for the walls. Don't avoid them to look at the
- 4:28information. They're giving you look at what
- 4:29they're telling you. And really focus on the fact
- 4:32that there is an abundance of effort that goes into, not
- 4:38hitting the wall repeatedly, but it's so worth it because once
- 4:42you recognize it, it's easier to say.
- 4:44Okay, here's what I have to do now.
- 4:46Will it be easy to hold yourself to the to the line?
- 4:49Probably not. But what, what is worth it?
- 4:53I mean, everything that's hard is usually really worth it in
- 4:57the long run and we have to remember, it's not about just
- 5:00being easy on things. It's about doing the work and
- 5:03who we become in the process. So, I hope you guys have a
- 5:07blessed day and I will see you tomorrow on the other side of
- 5:11the wall. Bye.
