- 0:03Well, as America and Iran come together in a high stakes meeting on Middle East peace, is information warfare and internal division being exploited to weaken America from within.
- 0:15It's a divided population influenced by competing narratives.
- 0:19It may just be the greatest vulnerability in a time of war.
- 0:22Dr.
- 0:23Carol Swain, Major Fred Galvin discuss a divided America and the cognitive war within.
- 0:30And with the border closed, the war on drugs ramped up and the drug cartels targeted.
- 0:34How does all this translate to drugs on America's streets?
- 0:38Dr.
- 0:38Franco Musio takes a look at the link between cartel narco-terrorism and Iran's regime.
- 0:45It's all next on Viewpoint this Sunday.
- 1:03It is time to put away the bias, the lies and deceit and bring forth real talk from real people about real news, providing the out loud truth and capturing the essence of a new generation, all in a fast paced hour.
- 1:17Our viewpoint this Sunday.
- 1:26Welcome to the weekend news magazine.
- 1:29Viewpoint this Sunday.
- 1:31It is Malcolm Out Loud here, and welcome to the broadcast, my fellow Americans.
- 1:35And uh let's start with this really great news, and that is uh Artemis uh two.
- 1:40And you know, the the success of this mission to the moon was perhaps a very good sign at this time, lift in spirits with a sense of patriotism, and it was just uh a nice juxtaposition of things uh to to remind us of what we are capable of as as a people.
- 1:57And so I it was a beautiful thing.
- 2:00Now, it was it just quickly on that point, though.
- 2:03It it was some new ground was being broken here with this mission.
- 2:07And uh as an example, Time magazine reports, and I and this kind of gives you a little sense where people were um a little little skittish on on the uh coming back here.
- 2:18They say this the astronauts' safe return was by no means a sure thing.
- 2:24They were flying a spacecraft they had never carried crew before and entering the atmosphere on a trajectory that had never been attempted before, projected by a heat shield that had caused engineers a little bit of worry ever since the flight of Artemis One in 2022.
- 2:42Close quote.
- 2:43I thought that captured probably what a lot of people were not reporting on, but there were a lot of at first there, frankly.
- 2:49And so I was just myself personally holding my breath.
- 2:53I don't know about you out there, and just saying, please God, deliver them safely here.
- 2:57That's one thing we do not need at this time.
- 3:00And thank God they are back here at home.
- 3:02What a beautiful time.
- 3:03What a beautiful moment here as we continue now with a space journey ahead here, huh?
- 3:08It's been too long.
- 3:10And uh so we'll jump into that into uh big program today, my fellow Americans.
- 3:14Uh thank you for joining me here.
- 3:16And um to get into, of course, the Middle East is a big story here.
- 3:21Uh, and a lot of other points.
- 3:23We have uh a special report later in the program on uh what's happening with the border and the war on drugs and uh what's really going on with the narco-terrorism and how that links to Iran.
- 3:32Uh, we'll get back to some of that a bit later here.
- 3:34We're gonna start off here.
- 3:35Uh hey, what do you think about this rescue, by the way?
- 3:38Uh, and you know, when we say uh no no man left behind, and now they change that to no one left behind, of course, because you're in a can't say man or woman.
- 3:46Uh used to be human uh mankind is going to be humankind.
- 3:49You just gotta be kind of I don't know what it's all about.
- 3:51But anyways, uh join us on the program here.
- 3:54Excited to have these two on.
- 3:56Uh Dr.
- 3:56Carol Swain joins me here.
- 3:59And uh, she's an award-winning political scientist, uh former tenured professor at Princeton and Vanderbilt Universities.
- 4:06She's the author and editor of some phenomenal books, by the way, uh well over a dozen, 1415, something like that.
- 4:14I lose count.
- 4:15But they are all in the America Outloud bookstore.
- 4:18They're available on Amazon, of course, anywhere you get your books, check those out for sure.
- 4:22She hits a lot of the big cultural issues and things that uh people are struggling with uh very much.
- 4:28And uh, this next gentleman is always a treat to have him on, and that is uh Major Fred Galvin.
- 4:34He's a 27-year veteran of the Marine Corps, made history as the Marine Corps' first special operations task force commander, leading elite warriors into combat in Afghanistan.
- 4:46And he also has a fantastic book, uh, A Few Bad Men, the the true story of U.S.
- 4:52Marines ambushed in Afghanistan and betrayed in America.
- 4:55Boy, isn't that the truth?
- 4:57And that is in the bookstore.
- 4:58And those links will be in this post as well when it does go to podcast after talk radio here.
- 5:03So uh all right, uh Major Galvin, like to start with you because your your show this past uh week here on the uh National Security Hour on the network and the article you wrote was uh very, very telling.
- 5:15And we took you talked about no one left behind, the combat rescue and America's resolved.
- 5:21Uh it is a statement of doctrine, you say, no one left behind.
- 5:25While the air campaign continues to apply pressure, the full weight of American military power, air space intelligence, and special operations can be redirected to recover a single downed war fighter, even at significant risk.
- 5:42Now, you posed the question, I I actually would like you to help us understand the importance of this and why we do why our culture is so different than other countries, why there is and what is really happening when an American aviator like this goes down behind enemy lines.
- 5:57Bring us through that, please.
- 6:00Yes, this is a big significant historical feat because I remember being 10 years old, and we had a hostage rescue attempt of American citizens, as we all know, in Tehran that failed.
- 6:16And that was a mission led by uh Colonel Charlie Beckwith.
- 6:21Uh is a very daring and very sophisticated mission, but we did not continue that once there was this crash at this checkpoint called Desert One during this overall larger mission called uh Operation Eagle Claw, and those 52 Americans remained hostage uh that were taken when our American embassy was seized.
- 6:42So this 46 years later shows the resolve of the United States that we in the whole overall mission, there's several pilots that had ejected one was immediately recovered.
- 6:56But in both those recoveries, 176 aircraft.
- 7:00So it went from which is a big change of hey, something disastrous happened, uh, an aircraft was shot down.
- 7:08We no longer want to ask and care like what led to that, but let's get our warriors back onto American hands, and God help us if we had Iranians capture this uh pilot and use that as propaganda, which that was that would have been catastrophic.
- 7:28But uh, thank God that we literally, thank God we have uh Secretary of War and administration with leaders that understand we will not back down.
- 7:39We will use whatever it took and uh several other aircraft were were damaged and had to be destroyed.
- 7:46Uh but that's that's the resources they use.
- 7:49They're not back down.
- 7:50Major, the the uh the benefit uh, you know, I gotta tell you, the the benefit of what that must do to the morale and and and the troops uh on uh uh that's gotta be like so real world, the application of that when they see that take place where they think, wow.
- 8:07I mean, like our life does matter.
- 8:09There is value there.
- 8:10And when a nation goes to that extent, and boy, they pulled out all the stop.
- 8:14Yeah, pretty incredible, isn't it?
- 8:16It is, and it's a big departure on our last Middle East war when we were right next door in Afghanistan, and we are using this hearts and minds.
- 8:26We were trying to have people that believe in Sharia law come to a Western style of centralized government that's that would never have happened.
- 8:35And so they were even considering this is not a fact check me.
- 8:40Uh, I encourage people because they were considering issuing medals for heroic restraint of not engaging in power.
- 8:47As you know, uh, we were blown up and shot at, and we responded as Marines are trained to do with a counterattack, and then they sent 45 criminal investigators and four prosecuting attorneys against seven United States Marines, and that is a total shift of okay.
- 9:05When you do what you're ordered to do when you're caught in an ambush zone, when you're engaging the enemy, having your government come after you with every single thing they can, and that created this forever war, created people that were hesitant that were not wanting to go out and engage the enemy and wanted to sit on bases versus let's get our guy or gal or whoever could be caught.
- 9:30Yeah, at whatever expense.
- 9:31Thank you for sharing that.
- 9:33I mean, and it just tells people the change in mindset.
- 9:36It's really a mindset and the change that happened from those particular moments of time, which we're not proudful, many of those moments here, as to really elevate in our military in the way that it is.
- 9:46So that's a great place to start here.
- 9:48Now, let's get in and talk about this in a big way here.
- 9:51And uh, there's some interesting uh points here to this thing here.
- 9:55And Dr.
- 9:55Carol Swain, like to get over to you on this here.
- 9:58Let's start off this way here.
- 10:00Over this past week, actually, even since our last program last weekend here, uh, President Trump had delivered an eye-popping threat to destroy an entire civilization in Iran is what political reports, and boy, the media went wild with this for sure.
- 10:15Uh, of course, uh Trump has a certain way to uh use words and and parse them the way he does.
- 10:22Uh, but people take uh literally what he's saying, of course, as the president.
- 10:27And uh, if a deal isn't reached, they say he was going to do that, intensifying pressure ahead of his deadline for Tehran to fully open the Strait of Ormuz.
- 10:35So they they say uh Dr.
- 10:37Swain, it was the post that shocked the world.
- 10:39A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.
- 10:42I don't want to want that to happen, but it probably will, he said.
- 10:46Now, I think there are those, Dr.
- 10:48Swain, who knows this is just him being uh verbose and and being, you know, that that uh the way he does this kind of thing and the way he uses it to bring the adversaries or enemies to think these things or to their knees, whereas other people take it literally as to that he's going to do that.
- 11:06I never had a sense that he was going to uh you know kill the whole civilization, but there are people who really kind of thought this, I guess.
- 11:13What do you make of that and and that approach with president?
- 11:17Well, I have to say that words always matter.
- 11:21Yeah.
- 11:22And when you're the president of the United States, everyone is hanging on your every word that comes out of your mouth.
- 11:30And for the president to say that, I don't see the strategic advantage because what did the Iranians do?
- 11:40They surrounded the strategic topic, uh the strategic um targets with uh people with human shields, the way uh they do in Islam, they they put out the people.
- 11:54And even if he were going to um do a massive attack on Iran, um, it seems to me that you would just do it.
- 12:06You wouldn't announce it.
- 12:08I don't see that it got him anything because afterwards they uh his enemies and among conservatives started calling him taco.
- 12:18Trump always chickens out.
- 12:20So why uh, you know, it's almost like the boy who cries wolf again and again and again at some point people stop taking you seriously.
- 12:31Well, many people would argue it's his way of doing the art of the deal that he does.
- 12:37He has a very unusual way in the way he negotiates and how he does it.
- 12:40Maybe sometimes it's to scare the hell out of the uh opposition, whatever that might be.
- 12:45But the whole taco thing and what you're saying, uh Carol, uh for sure, uh the media use, but but I think aren't they going to do that no matter what, though?
- 12:54I mean, do you really think there's a path forward where he couldn't shock them where they wouldn't pull out all of that?
- 12:59Do you think I mean I don't know that that I don't see that that got him anything, and just maybe I'm I'm wrong, but uh there are many Christians in Iran, and I just don't see how threatening to wipe out the whole civilization, which means everybody, even if you're not intending to do it.
- 13:19Uh and I'm not the president, and I'm not Trump, but uh as someone that's just looking from the outside, I don't see a strategic advantage to doing that.
- 13:30And people say let Trump be Trump, but sometimes you know, you have to rise above your own personality and do the thing that would shock people, uh, and it may not be being an extremist in your language.
- 13:46Yeah.
- 13:46Major, speak about this point for me for a moment here, because uh what Dr.
- 13:50Swain is sh sharing, a lot of people would agree with.
- 13:54We are a divided nation.
- 13:55We'll talk about that a little bit more.
- 13:57But this is one of the things that get under the skin of many, many people.
- 14:02And there are others who just blow it off and say it doesn't really matter.
- 14:05Um what do you think?
- 14:08It does bring up a very interesting point on this subject, and it shows to me a few things.
- 14:14One that the media, no matter what decision Trump makes, whether he goes through with something that he said that many people feel is just awful, or if he doesn't, he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, and they're always going to criticize.
- 14:29And it does to me show that the media is not really media.
- 14:34Media is not expected to be biased in their journalism, but they are, and that is something that that really needs to be called out.
- 14:43But the other point I really want to call out is this message that Trump had was not just to the American people.
- 14:51Obviously, the whole world heard it, but his message, although it had a lot of vitriol, is aimed at those leaders who are still in charge in Iran.
- 15:01And that is the one thing that they understand, just like the name of my task force, and some people felt, oh my goodness, you're calling it yourself task force violent.
- 15:11Well, it may sound harsh, doesn't brief well on a Sunday morning show, but that's what people in Iran understand.
- 15:21I mean, these are people who have for 47 years been capturing and killing Americans, been plotting an assassination of the president of the United States.
- 15:32So we can't sit back in fear and clutch our pearls and and play tiddlywinks with people who will murder and assassinate.
- 15:42And some people will say, just like Putin will say, well, America does that themselves.
- 15:46And yeah, we're gonna go after people who do heinous crimes.
- 15:50And if we have to take them out with a bomb or a bullet, we will do that.
- 15:53That's that's what it takes.
- 15:55But when the message is to your enemy, you the only thing they understand.
- 16:00You can't say, well, we're gonna do we're gonna do diplomacy.
- 16:05Obviously, they're the master at that, and they just blow it off.
- 16:09You know, they were gonna buy time and they're going to continue to do whatever it takes to get their hands and most likely purchase a nuclear weapon, and they they intend to use it.
- 16:20So uh people don't understand the most dangerous course of action is Iran detonating a nuclear weapon somewhere on this planet, and and that's the ultimate consequence.
- 16:32That's what is not told in the media that you can't have these people who think radically armed with something that can have catastrophic effects.
- 16:42They don't play to the mutual the uh mutual shear destruction program, do they?
- 16:46They don't play to that, yeah.
- 16:47I mean, they they that's just not something, whereas any other nation about just any other nation understands what that means.
- 16:55But these folks, they actually want to bring that on, so the 12th uh imam will come back and uh they can uh all party there somehow.
- 17:03I don't know as the thing blows up.
- 17:05It's it's a weird culture in that way.
- 17:08And um and so it's it's not easily in interpreted, I guess here.
- 17:12Uh Dr.
- 17:14Swain, you and I were talking about this division in America in the way that it is.
- 17:19You know, let me say that Democrats, Republicans, independents, about everybody understood the danger of a uh of an Iran of this radical regime.
- 17:31About everybody understood what what Major was just sharing about the fact that they cannot, and as the president continues to replete, they cannot possess anything close to a nuclear weapon.
- 17:43And you know, but then there's even, I mean, there's chemical weapons, there's biochemical.
- 17:47I mean, there's all kinds of things that these people are trying to uh cultivate on their land and their uh we just reported on that.
- 17:54In fact, there are biolabs out there and everything else.
- 17:57And so we understand what that is.
- 18:00But but Dr.
- 18:00Swain, when you look at the criticism right now, it's it's all politics.
- 18:05It's not about Iran.
- 18:07It's not about the United States military having victory and our nation having victory.
- 18:12It's not about that.
- 18:13It's about finding every fault or crumb of controversy that the radical left can use and the media can use, and the Democrats can use to poke at the president no matter what it is.
- 18:27That seems to be where our division is coming from.
- 18:30I I you know what your question sometimes do we all want the same thing, or are they just pretending they want something different so they can get the power back?
- 18:38It's that's what's running this division in our country.
- 18:41Speak about that.
- 18:42Well, first of all, I would say that the division is coming from all sides.
- 18:47I've never seen the conservative ranks so divided as they are today.
- 18:53And the situation that we are in, it's it is not clear what side each group is on.
- 19:03And in the in the conservative ranks, we can speculate about who may have been paid off and you know, whether they're sincere in their positions, regardless of why they have taken the positions they have, they're out there uh engaging in actions that will almost ensure that Democrats will could take the House and send it back during the midterms.
- 19:27And in 2028, if the Democrats return to power, all this stuff about no one left behind goes out the window.
- 19:36We remember Benghazi, we remember what happened in Afghanistan.
- 19:40Uh when I was growing up, or most of my adult life, uh being an American meant something overseas.
- 19:48You knew that if you were in trouble and you went to the American embassy that uh you would be rescued.
- 19:54Uh it depends on which political party is in power, whether or not you have value.
- 20:00And status when it comes to the U.S.
- 20:02government.
- 20:02So everything is all messed up.
- 20:05And as far as the Middle East and Iran and what's happening, um from my perspective as a person of faith, I don't see a political solution to what ails the Middle East.
- 20:20And I think when it comes to Pete Heksif, who is a good friend of mine, and um President Trump, unless they actually I would say uh getting godly advice about how to handle the situation, they're going to make mistakes.
- 20:37And I think that it's a mistake to announce what you're going to do to threaten people.
- 20:42If you're going to do it, take the strategic advantage and just do it.
- 20:47And when it came to the rescue of the uh the damn the pallots, um so many people, CIA, and I think the president, they talked about how it was done.
- 21:01And from my perspective, and again, I'm just you know, sitting here in my armchair.
- 21:05Um offering my opinion, when you disclose information about how you were able to get the information, how you deceive the enemy, how you did it, it jeopardizes your ability to do that in the future.
- 21:20So I just wish that when it kind came to our military leaders, I wish they would do less boasting.
- 21:27And just, you know, if you're gonna do an action, do it.
- 21:31But don't announce it and don't threaten and don't appear to just be constantly backing down.
- 21:37Uh it does make you appear to be a toothless tiger.
- 21:41Be more strategic.
- 21:42And maybe that's just me, but that's how I see it.
- 21:45And I don't know anything about you know military strategy, but I have a lot of common sense.
- 21:51Yeah, yeah.
- 21:52You know, when the president gets on to your point now, a moment ago here, uh, Carol.
- 21:56When the president gets on and he says we have when you're talking about boastful or that kind of thing.
- 22:00But when he says that we have the most powerful military in the world by far, and he says this about every speech.
- 22:06Uh, is that is that part of the equation of what you're speaking about?
- 22:10No, no.
- 22:11Okay, okay.
- 22:12No, I mean, there's some some a lot of boasting that takes place that isn't about just uh articulating facts, and it's not just coming uh from President Trump.
- 22:22I just wish that when we had a victory or when we had an appearance of a victory, there was just a little bit more humility.
- 22:30And so, but again, all is it all of my position comes from how I see the world, and I clearly don't see the world the way a lot of other people do.
- 22:41Interesting.
- 22:42All right.
- 22:42Um Major Galvin, you said in your um your article and program this week, you said how the most dangerous front may not be overseas.
- 22:51How information warfare and internal division are being exploited to weaken America from within.
- 22:56A divided population influenced by competing narratives and constant information pressure, risk becoming the greatest vulnerability in a time of conflict.
- 23:07Now that plays to what Dr.
- 23:09Swain is speaking about right now.
- 23:11And some of the Boston and some of the um commentary she's uh talking about, maybe um she's saying just do it instead of keep talking about it.
- 23:21That paragraph you wrote and this division back here at home.
- 23:26I mean, it's not so much the fact that we're at war with these people or the fact, but the president ran on being a non-interventionist, he ran on no foreign wars and so on and so forth.
- 23:36And back to what Dr.
- 23:37Swain was just talking about, the div division in the conservative Republican Party, what have you is real.
- 23:41She's 100% correct.
- 23:42There are people all over our network, as you know already, Major, that do not like this as happened.
- 23:47We're our network is a reflection of the country right now, very divided on this story.
- 23:51So bring it back to this information warfare and this division and the the boasting and put that into context with what Dr.
- 23:58Swain is talking, and how do you see it?
- 24:01This is a great topic in one of the jobs I held out here in Hawaii when I work for the federal government is in this cognitive domain, and there is cognitive combat going on.
- 24:12Uh I've talked on one of the shows about how much, especially the Chinese have invested manpower wise into creating some of this is organic.
- 24:22If Joe Kent gets out and says something online or says it on one of the conservative news channels or any news channel, they'll take that and amplify it and use that to divide.
- 24:35And most people know, whether you're an investor or your news consumer, the most powerful emotion is fear.
- 24:44And so when President Trump and his administration are doing things that they know that the American people want, they want transparency, they want a president that's communicating clearly to the people, they will take that and they will divide it.
- 24:57And they will say, see, look at this.
- 24:59And it it has effects on many people who are very uh informed, very intellectual, and they will say, see, you know, I don't I don't agree with this and this.
- 25:10And and Trump is trying to do what the people said they want, they want somebody to as I just had mentioned a little bit ago, he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, because what just about a few weeks ago they were saying is there's no plan.
- 25:27Right.
- 25:27And he's not pursuing diplomacy.
- 25:30So when he tries to communicate, hey, this is what we're going to do, and we want to pursue diplomacy, they they have this heavy criticism.
- 25:39And what the American people don't always understand, and what we're starting to see now this past week is in and who knows if Marco Rubio or other cabinet members are trying to lead in some of this diplomacy with China, where China's like, hey, this was amusing for a while, but we need our oil, we need fuel.
- 26:00Energy is key for China to do what they're doing, and now over a month, this this needs to end.
- 26:07Why haven't they been more loud on this topic?
- 26:09What you're talking about right now, China.
- 26:10Why haven't they been more uh obnoxious about this?
- 26:13Aren't they getting their oil?
- 26:16It's reduced capacity in some so yes and no.
- 26:21They are, but they're the percentage of the the amounts that they're used to, they are not.
- 26:28And that's what's leading China to I I think they were in the wait and see mode, just like Russia, they're they're very analytical and following what is going on, but now it's it's starting to impact uh some of their abilities to have a normal economy as well as in their national defense or national offense.
- 26:47But why do you think they've been so quiet, Major?
- 26:49Any particular reason, or is it they're just watching how the tea leaves fall right now before they speak or the latter, I think they're watching how the tea leaves fall and okay, making some decisions, and it's starting to hit some nerves in my opinion with the regime.
- 27:04I think you're right, and and Moscow as well.
- 27:06And you you mentioned that in your piece, by the way.
- 27:08You said and let me let me say this here.
- 27:10You said and they are I would like to weigh in too.
- 27:12Yeah, we we will uh look Carol, that they say and they are watching China and Russia are watching, and and uh and and I've been looking at a lot of these backstories about this as well.
- 27:23Uh that they are watching all of this.
- 27:25Uh uh, I mean, that can't be a good thing, uh, Dr.
- 27:28Swain, is it?
- 27:29Well, I mean, uh I'm getting my news, I guess, from a different source because it was my understanding that Russia was actively helping Iran, maybe as payback for Ukraine, they were and China has never really um yeah that that they are working against the United States, and so I don't know um it's I don't I don't see them as as being neutral in any way, and I'm more afraid of China than just about any other country because I think they're the most dangerous.
- 28:04Well, what you say there isn't uh is true.
- 28:07Is that right, Major?
- 28:08What Dr.
- 28:08Swain just said is accurate in regards to Russia and China, isn't it?
- 28:13Absolutely.
- 28:14And yeah, one of my concerns is I mentioned on the program several times is this does, and I'm sure there's people in Northern Virginia analyzing this, you know, and advising this administration that if China doesn't get their oil, that can definitely drive them deeper in the arms of Russia, who has the oil.
- 28:35You know, China is diversified, but now they get a little oil cut off in Venezuela, they get some more cut off or reduced capacity out of uh the Arabian Gulf, and then all of a sudden believe me, Moscow and Beijing, they're they're definitely talking and what we don't want, because they're there are differences between these communist leaders and Russia and China.
- 28:58Yeah, yeah.
- 28:59And but this can allow them to get a little bit closer in this dance.
- 29:05Well, it's just not what we want to do.
- 29:06And you talked about that in a very interesting way, Major.
- 29:09And in fact, uh Politico actually had a piece too, uh, Eric uh Freyman, a Hoover fellow at Stanford University.
- 29:16Uh, the White House's inability to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or engage allies in its cause isn't inspiring confidence about how the U.S.
- 29:25could handle the economic fallout of a Chinese blockade of Taiwan or a move to seize the island.
- 29:31If I'm Beijing, that signals to me uh the Americans have no economic contingency plan.
- 29:36If things get challenged in the Western Pacific and the Americans are incapable of marshaling in an effective allied coalition, uh real quick, let's move it along here.
- 29:45But Major talked about what I just said there about that is a concern, isn't it?
- 29:49The fact that they're you're seeing all this play out in the way that they are.
- 29:53Yes, this is a three dimensional chess game right here, and when we move an amphibious readiness group.
- 30:00Group of U.S.
- 30:01Marines from the Seventh Fleet area of operation in Northeast Asia and we put them in the Gulf, as well as when we have two carrier battle groups in the central command area of operation, that does change some calculus for Beijing and makes them think.
- 30:18Now, if they had the oil, and they're seeing this really tough fight that they just like the United States is probably thinking was going to go be done with just like it was done over 20 years ago and uh with Iraq.
- 30:32They it this has been surprising, the resistance.
- 30:34And as a fighter, I have to give it up to Iran.
- 30:39You know, they're putting up a tough fight, uh, much more so than most world uh powers are are thinking that they would.
- 30:47But I don't think right now China's gonna make a move around Taiwan, but it does show a lot of techniques, just like when we send over 150 aircraft to get a pilot, yeah.
- 31:00That calculus goes on with the military planners all across China that okay, we're our plan is to down as many of these aircraft as they have fifth generation fighters.
- 31:10And if they're if they're gonna go so far to get the then we have them hamstrung because uh China fighting China is a totally different situation than fighting Iran, and we need this to get over very quickly.
- 31:24That's what I think Trump wants to do, whether he bails out, yeah, which is I don't think long-term good for the United States to somehow allow a strategic victory or narrative of that to be that Iran won and held them out and then have more moolahs uh taking over.
- 31:42But um, I think Trump is going to before his 60-day limit with uh his authority.
- 31:49He's we're probably gonna pull out of there, and he wants to make sure that as much of his intent is achieved in that time period.
- 31:59Well, that is, and the clock is ticking for sure on that 60-day point here.
- 32:03Um with this war, Dr.
- 32:05Swain, and the way that it is being perceived by the public and the division that is in America.
- 32:10At the end of the day, in your opinion, was this uh was the time in, I mean, listen, they they they got the whole top uh echelant of the regime out of there and the second run as well out of there.
- 32:23They've they've gonna change the Middle East here one way or another.
- 32:27This is not this is not small potatoes.
- 32:30Do you see this as worth a sacrifice at this point that that we have uh put into this?
- 32:36I can say that I've recently um been watching uh a documentary series on World War II and just starting from 1939 and how those forces came together.
- 32:50And I think we are in a very dangerous situation, and I see the U.S.
- 32:55as isolated without any allies other than Israel as a s as its strongest ally.
- 33:02And I don't see a way out.
- 33:05And spiritually, I don't know what's going to happen.
- 33:07But I'm not living in fear, but I don't see a clear way out.
- 33:11And that's why I've been urging people to pray for uh uh for godly wisdom for all the world leaders because they're lining up.
- 33:20And if anyone, you know, had the time to watch this documentary film that's on prime video, they should do so because it's a refresher of how World War II came about and how those nations align themselves.
- 33:35And in America, we've been fortunate not to have had many wars fought on our soil.
- 33:41You know, the revolutionary war, the civil war, but for the most part, we have been insulated and protected.
- 33:47We I don't know that that's always gonna be uh the situation.
- 33:53And as a Christian, I believe that God is a God that judges nations.
- 33:57And when I look at America and I look at uh some of the nations around the world, like if God changes not, as he says in the Bible, then he has he has used heinous nations to punish other nations, uh, such as Israel.
- 34:15Uh and so I don't know what's going to happen in the future, but I do think it's spiritual and people who are listening who are believers that they need to get on their knees and start praying for a situation out because I don't see it.
- 34:30Very interesting what you say there.
- 34:32Your analysis of that is very, very fascinating, very deep, very fascinating.
- 34:38And the reference point to World War II is quite incredible as well.
- 34:42Uh, and the way that it all lined up.
- 34:43And I've given that a lot of thought as well, Dr.
- 34:45Swain.
- 34:46You're you're right over the target here.
- 34:48And that major to wrap up here, uh, that is what really could go wrong.
- 34:53A lot could go wrong, a lot could go right as well.
- 34:56That 60 day factor you talked about a moment ago with Trump is critically important.
- 35:00Uh, how we pull out of there, what happens, the message it sends around the world.
- 35:04But let's face it, the way the allies have acted, the rest the way NATO has been, the way the rest of it has fallen out, has done a lot of harm.
- 35:11And the way China and Russia and all adversaries are watching this, has probably done some harm at this point to Dr.
- 35:18Swain's point.
- 35:19Uh, give me a quick comment on that, and uh, we've got to bring this uh home here.
- 35:24One I absolutely agree with Dr.
- 35:26Swain is uh when people have these issues as a Christian and as a Christian nation, we need to pray that we are united, that we have a leader who leads from a point of humility and honesty in front of God, that he seeks God.
- 35:44However, we just like uh a warrior on the battlefield, if we're wounded, we can't just sit there and go into shock and think of what's going on at the moment.
- 35:55We have to look long term, and just like Donald Trump pulled out uh what I believe are miracles in his bid for re-election.
- 36:04I also saw you know it's to include surviving an assassination attempt.
- 36:09Um, there have been many things in his presidency, and uh that's what we need to be praying for that we get through this, where this threat to the world uh with having somebody that, as you mentioned, Malcolm, does not subscribe to the mutually assured destruction, that they could be the wild card that could take some weapon and destroy whether it's Israel, the United States, or some some other country.
- 36:37That's not what we want.
- 36:38We want to have a a checkmate where we both understand we're not going to cross these lines.
- 36:44Uh and that's what we need to be looking, like I said, the the wounded boyer, and that's I I think we have had very few casualties, but the overall strategic picture, like Dr.
- 36:56Swain had mentioned, it seems like there's no way out.
- 37:00That's when we need as Christians to always understand there is a way out.
- 37:04And just like rescuing this pilot that a lot of people were very concerned with.
- 37:08Yeah, we we need to unite as a country and find a way out of this, and that may be spiritually.
- 37:15Yeah, well, and that's it.
- 37:16And and and Dr.
- 37:17Swain, you had put a uh uh uh a tweet out on X uh and you said, and I and I quote here, we need a divine intervention in the Middle East.
- 37:26Please consider joining me in prayer for a godly solution to our woes.
- 37:29And you quoted uh some uh 20 uh seven, uh some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
- 37:38Uh and uh please play uh fervently pray for President Trump Secretary of War Pete Hexath and other decision makers in Europe and the Middle East.
- 37:46You got a lot of uh strange feedback and a little bit of criticism for that as well.
- 37:51Um let me give you the final word on that.
- 37:53Uh what it's uh how do you encapsulate that uh response you got from that message and what we're talking about now?
- 38:00Uh in the last month, I've lost 1,500 followers on X.
- 38:05And so I think that it when it comes to these issues, you're supposed to, at least the people that were following me.
- 38:13If you're not cheerleading and engaging in what I would call group think, you have no value.
- 38:20But I will speak what I believe is the truth.
- 38:23I will speak what I believe God has given me.
- 38:26And right now, I don't feel like cheerleading.
- 38:29I feel like sounding the alarm.
- 38:31I tend to always be Cassandra, uh, and Cassandra didn't end very well, but I just have to do what I'm wired to do, and that's to speak the truth as I see it, yeah, believing that God has given me insight.
- 38:46Yeah.
- 38:46You always do speak your truth.
- 38:48Um you always you always have.
- 38:50Uh I've known you years, and you um you you don't uh sugarcoat the truth, and we appreciate that very much.
- 38:56The out loud truth, I call it, uh, Carol.
- 38:58So uh and uh it is indeed uh part of what we do here.
- 39:02So a tremendous thank you to Dr.
- 39:05Carol Swain, Major Fred Galvin.

- 42:55Welcome back to the broadcast.
- 42:57Listen, I want to do a special report now and dive into some of this well, some of the drug that are going on, the drug cartels, but the narco-terrorism, but the link also into Iran's regime and uh and this drug trafficking and things that have happened, and of course the IRGC cannot forget are always uh always uh in the background here of some sort here.
- 43:17They're all adversaries is what it is, and they're looking to uh do as much harm here uh with America as they possibly can here.
- 43:25Join us in the conversation.
- 43:26Dr.
- 43:26Franco Muzio is here.
- 43:28He's a forensic analyst, a critical thinker, I always have to say, and an MD, uh specializing in nephrology, uh fantastic.
- 43:36Uh Dr.
- 43:37Muzia was a physician in the U.S.
- 43:39Army for 17 years and held several roles at Walter Reed Army Medical Center before turned to private practice as well.
- 43:46He is uh now a show host, actually on the platform and a writer and a very good one at both of those.
- 43:52He's doing some terrific work, and this is some of the stuff I want to talk about right here today, uh, Dr.
- 43:56Muzio, and that is this link.
- 43:58So criminal drug trafficking networks are leveraged by Iran with their illicit profits funding the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp, uh Corporate, and then the Cuds Force and the notorious proxy groups, and these are this is your writings here, right?
- 44:14As an example, Hezbollah has partnered with Latin America drug cartels for over two decades, and the laundering of money and the facilitation of drug trafficking.
- 44:21Take it from there and tell us why this is such an impact.
- 44:24And we've been on this war on drugs since Trump got back into office with the borders and all that.
- 44:29So tell us what that link please with the right.
- 44:31Well, thank you.
- 44:32Thank you so much for having me.
- 44:33You know, I I've learned a lot in a compressed period of time uh by Richard Baum, the drug czar, previous drugs are, and he recently wrote Inside America's opioid drug crisis.
- 44:43That there's an incredible link with Iran, the Iranian government, and of course the IRGC and everything below the Iranian government or the theocracy.
- 44:52Um, and yes, there are links all over the world, particularly with Hezbollah, their proxies, particularly with the drug cartels, which are like a 10-headed monster.
- 45:03Um, these people are very, very cunning and very, very smart.
- 45:08And you know, half, half of the GDP of Iran was all in the dark market, was all underground, under the table, if you will.
- 45:17And and and now even more.
- 45:19So, yes, the the they share the opium poppies and and the direct drugs coming from opium and and the synthetic drugs that the cartels are very much involved with.
- 45:31It it's one big um internet kind of uh web mess.
- 45:38But but a lot of money goes into the Iranian pockets, and funding, as you said, the IRGC, funding the goods forces, funding their proxies, funding everything.
- 45:50And and it's it's all illicit.
- 45:52It is all illicit.
- 45:54So uh they are specialists in this.
- 45:57In fact, you know, they they've done social studies about um the smartest, if you will, people and the professions.
- 46:03The smartest people are no, they're not doctors and lawyers and journalists and such.
- 46:08No, they're terrorists.
- 46:10And the Iranian regime is one huge terror organization.
- 46:15I would imagine there's two reasons why they do this.
- 46:17I'm I'm guessing, and and correct me on this, or otherwise, uh one is what you just speak about, uh, the money, uh, that it's a hell of a profitable business that they can get those kinds of funds from drugs and all these illicites.
- 46:29Extremely, extremely.
- 46:30But the other reason I would imagine that is higher, and there may be other reasons too, I don't really know.
- 46:35But the other reason has got to be the harm they do to the societal, uh the cultural society here back in America, they can really enemy in ways that uh would you're right?
- 46:48Is that fair?
- 46:48Oh, oh, that's more more than fair.
- 46:51Look, these people are not stupid.
- 46:53They they are looking at multiple prisms, they're looking at uh uh, you know, warfare, cognitive warfare, and actual warfare, and you call it kinetic, we're engaging in kinetic.
- 47:04Well, there's several several layers around that indirectly, but in terms of hurting Americans, if you will, indirectly, killing Americans.
- 47:13Uh oh, they very much enjoy that.
- 47:15They very, very much like that.
- 47:17And as I said, they're very, very crafty.
- 47:20And there's direct connections between Iran and the cartels, which we don't even know about.
- 47:25Not only through Hezbollah.
- 47:27I mean, most of the money, by the way, from Hezbollah comes from illicit drugs, which in a roundabout way, Iran is is directly involved with directly.
- 47:39So I want to ask you, uh the let's look at the success.
- 47:41Uh what has happened.
- 47:43The America's counter-cartel coalition was something I want people to be aware of.
- 47:49This was launched by uh the uh Secretary of War, Pete Heggseth uh in uh March of 26.
- 47:55So it's it's uh pretty recent here, just uh a group of 17 nations designed to combat and destroy cartels in the Western Hemisphere using military force, if necessary, that is.
- 48:07Uh this uh again uh the she was uh unveiled at the Shield of America's summit.
- 48:12Yes.
- 48:12And this was interesting because it combined 12 Latin American and Caribbean nations that were joined to sign this pact.
- 48:18So that so this would be very um this would tell me being very proactive.
- 48:24Uh so are are we making progress against Malcolm Malcolm?
- 48:28That's very true.
- 48:28Yeah, you know, sorry to interrupt you, but there are two answers, of course, to the short and the long answer.
- 48:33Uh the short answer is not yet.
- 48:37As I said, they're very crafty.
- 48:39So, yes, on March 7th, they have this Shield of America Summit in 12 Nations, and then but prior to that, when Trump took office the second admission, second uh administration, the Operation Southern Spear, and then after that, Operation Resolve, absolute resolve, recapturing Maduro, and then after that.
- 48:54These are all this is all in a very, very short period of time.
- 48:58Our links with Ecuador and other countries in in um decapitating the cartels.
- 49:05Well, the short the short answer, as I said, no, not yet, because they are so crafty.
- 49:12They we're dealing with multinational corporations, the cartels.
- 49:16We're dealing with different structures, different hierarchies.
- 49:20We're do we're dealing with money laundering.
- 49:23The Iranians are famous with this.
- 49:25We're dealing with human trafficking, a lot of smuggling, arms trafficking, other crimes, involvement with killings of um local businessmen, judges, and environmental crime crimes with illegal mining.
- 49:37All of these, all of these are basically drug related.
- 49:41Now, if yes, Trump uh we're thinking logically, we're thinking, you know, um methodologically uh in a in a method uh way of of decapitating.
- 49:53No, what do they do?
- 49:54They grow other heads.
- 49:55So, in other words, if we cut off the supply of fentanyl coming from China to
- 50:00The United States.
- 50:01Well, of course, they have the precursors from all over the world going through transnationally through different companies or different countries.
- 50:08They're very, very important.
- 50:10But it's a big business.
- 50:11It's a huge and it's a big part of their GDP, I'm sure.
- 50:15Oh, absolutely.
- 50:16These count these countries and stuff.
- 50:18All right.
- 50:18You did another very fascinating article.
- 50:20I want to I want to turn the page on and that ties to this big picture conversation we're having.
- 50:25It was entitled The Many Faces of the Drug Abuse Nightmare.
- 50:28And it was actually a program, a show you did on this.
- 50:32And so I want to do a little round robin with you quickly.
- 50:36Uh, because I want some questions and I want to move quickly on this.
- 50:39So you say here the overwhelming challenge of multi-drug abuse in the United States and around the world has a multitude of facets, including illicit production and distribution coupled with the societal and psychological issues fueling its growth.
- 50:55Yes.
- 50:56Very pointed question I ask you.
- 50:58Are we winning, losing, or just making a little bit of progress on the war on drugs?
- 51:02Um we're just making a little bit of progress, but much, much more to come.
- 51:07All right.
- 51:08So I mean, this doesn't happen overnight.
- 51:11These drug cartels are going to change their faces, they're going to change their roots, their distribution roots.
- 51:17They're going to change the actual chemicals that they produce.
- 51:20They have chemists.
- 51:21They have world-famous chemists that are being paid that are being bribed to come up with different chemicals, different synthetic drugs.
- 51:30So the short answer, um, we're about even.
- 51:34All right.
- 51:35Uh Mexican drug cartels appear to be operating with impunity.
- 51:40And they they were for a long while.
- 51:41And I don't know what success we're having uh uh logistically on that or not, uh, but the in the U.S.
- 51:47that has been the case, and their distribution of these illicit drugs involves uh a very sophisticated network uh mechanisms, uh parallel and multinational corporations.
- 51:57Now, has this changed at all?
- 51:59And how much do you think under the Trump administration?
- 52:02So it it again, again, it's very early.
- 52:04Has it changed?
- 52:05Uh well, the answer is yes.
- 52:07Uh the answer is yes.
- 52:08So they're like a jujitsu, if you will.
- 52:10They're going very quickly, very facile from one area to another to another in terms of distribution, what have you.
- 52:17Um, oh, they're using they're using submarines, they're using all kinds of things to get these drugs over.
- 52:23Or, or they're going, so now Venezuela is out of the equation, somewhat.
- 52:28They were a major hub.
- 52:29Oh my god, they're going down to Argentina, they're going down to even oh, unbelievable.
- 52:34They're going to Europe and then through through different facets to come to the United States.
- 52:39So, are we winning directly against the cartels?
- 52:41The answer is no.
- 52:43No, because they're so smart.
- 52:45No.
- 52:46No, not yet.
- 52:46No.
- 52:47Well, this is their lifeblood.
- 52:48Uh, you have to.
- 52:49Yeah, this money and drugs is their life, but is it's what they they exist for.
- 52:53So I think you're right.
- 52:55Yeah, I think your your answer there is right over target here.
- 52:57I want to touch on China here a moment as well, because they're a big part of this drug business.
- 53:02And of course, they uh uh push a lot of these chemicals through Mexico, uh, and then that are smuggled really into the U.S.
- 53:09here, and that's where a lot of this happens, the fentanyl, the opioids, all of this stuff here.
- 53:14Uh and I want to ask you a multiplexed question and see if you can give me a uh uh straight answer in your opinion on this.
- 53:19What do you think China's real goal is here?
- 53:21Is it just money making?
- 53:23Is it to kill our kids, or is it something else, please?
- 53:26Clearly, clearly, clearly, clearly.
- 53:28Uh their goal is to topple the United States in whatever way they can.
- 53:32And it's multiprong.
- 53:34If it's not intellectual property uh stealing, if it's not medical science dealing, uh but it's also drugs.
- 53:41They know they know very well, believe me.
- 53:44Uh they're they're as crafty as the terrorists, are in fact they are, they are kind of pseudo-terrorists.
- 53:50They know that drugs kill Americans.
- 53:52They know all of the social issues involved with youngsters and uh all people here in the United States and around the world, but mainly the United States.
- 54:01They know that this is going to hinder and hurt our society and hurt the structure, our institutions, if you will, and it is so they're very happy about that, by the way.
- 54:13Yeah, yeah.
- 54:13They're very happy about that.
- 54:15Uh, the media, you know, from the media, uh, and they say no, we're very honorable and we do this, and we want the best for the world.
- 54:22That's bullshit.
- 54:23That they they secretly covertly.
- 54:27There's a huge covert network in China.
- 54:30Huge.
- 54:32It all geared towards damaging the United States.
- 54:35I mean, it it's just unbelievable.
- 54:38Yeah, well, that's and this is one of them.
- 54:39This is one of them.
- 54:40Yes.
- 54:40Well, it's a big one as well here.
- 54:42It's a big one.
- 54:42It's a big thing.
- 54:43We talked about in your last program here, uh, the fentanyl generation.
- 54:47And uh you touched on that, and uh this fentanyl generation and the societal pressures that people are under.
- 54:54And I was looking a while back here uh at uh the level of uh the amount of kids that were being killed, murdered uh from these drugs, and many of them had no idea they were taking any of this stuff.
- 55:05I mean, they're let they lace other uh drugs the kids use to get high and other stuff with this stuff that kills them.
- 55:11And so many parents have lost their children from this.
- 55:14The numbers were staggering.
- 55:16It seems to me, I'm gonna take a shot here and say that is a war uh I'm gonna guess that we're making pretty good progress on with the current numbers uh because of a lot of the stats that Trump has done with the border and fighting the cartels.
- 55:30Are we making good progress in that area in your uh um in my opinion?
- 55:34Uh no.
- 55:35Uh I wouldn't label it as good progress.
- 55:37Are we making some progress?
- 55:38The answer is yes.
- 55:40Wow.
- 55:40So it's not uh listen, Malcolm, fentanyl is fentanyl, but they've come up with different chemicals similar to fentanyl, but more potent than fentanyl.
- 55:48And they're adulterating the pills which uh you know come up as methamphetamines or or amphetamines or uh all kinds of things that the kids are.
- 55:57So what more could not aware of what could we do?
- 55:59Is there anything else we could do as a country as a society push back on these bastards?
- 56:04Well, we're doing it, we're doing it as much as much as we can.
- 56:08I would say hire as many cartel members as possible.
- 56:11Is that right?
- 56:12Oh, yes, and induce them to come on our side to try just just like criminals in jail, you know.
- 56:18Um, you hire them because they're they're 10 steps ahead of us, Malcolm.
- 56:24That they are you know, Trump would be Trump would be the kind of guy he would probably do that, you know.
- 56:30Oh, absolutely.
- 56:31You have to be as creative if uh and more than your enemy.
- 56:35So your enemy uh is ahead of you.
- 56:38You always have to think of that, and meaning the narco-terrorists, they are ahead of us.
- 56:42So are you are you in in a closing statement here?
- 56:44Are you are you uh uh uh uh um casually optimistic?
- 56:49Do you are you uh seriously optimistic?
- 56:52Oh, and I'm optimistic.
- 56:53Yeah, I'm optimistic.
- 56:55Okay.
- 56:55I'm very optimistic.
- 56:56I think now, you know, we're bogged down, obviously, with Iran that that should not last forever, and it will not uh and then focus will shift more towards the don't forget there was the whole success with Maduro, Venezuela, all of that, and now there's Cuba on the on the uh uh menu as well.
- 57:11Oh that plays into this kind of stuff we're talking about too.
- 57:14Nicaragua, all of that.
- 57:15Uh all of it does, all of it does, but uh I'm I am optimistic that, yeah, yeah, with the kinetics, and you've seen them on TV.
- 57:24Okay, yeah, but we're gonna get craftier and craftier.
- 57:27The good guys.
- 57:28All right, and the president sees this war as for what it is.
- 57:31He knows he he has put a lot of effort into uh what was called the Munro Doctrine.
- 57:36Many are calling it now the Don Road Doctrine.
- 57:39Put a lot of effort in here.
- 57:41Dr.
- 57:41Franco Musio, thank you, brother, for joining very interesting uh conversation with you.
- 57:46And it's a topic that I'm always uh I'm fascinated with that uh I'd love to see if we could um uh someday get on the upper side of this fight on drugs, my fellow Americans, and there's got to be a way to do this.
- 58:01And I see this president, at least somebody who's taken it seriously uh for the first time in my lifetime.
- 58:07So, anyways, it is a war that continues on here.
