- 6:31last Neanderthal. revealing clues about how our
- 6:34ancient relatives disappeared from history. In
- 6:382015, a team led by paleoanthropologist Ludovic
- 6:42Slimek discovered jaw remains of a Neanderthal,
- 6:46approximately 42 ,000 years old, in Rhone Valley,
- 6:50France. Named Thorin, this Neanderthal's lineage
- 6:54remained isolated from others, despite living
- 6:57near modern humans. The analysis published in
- 7:00the journal Cell Genomics confirmed high genetic
- 7:03homozygosity, indicating inbreeding, and no evidence
- 7:07of interbreeding with contemporary humans. SLIMAX
- 7:12stated that this discovery necessitates a complete
- 7:15revaluation of our understanding of Neanderthal
- 7:18extinction. In business news, there is new evidence
- 7:24of global pain. stemming from President Trump's
- 7:27trade policy, which scrambled the world economy.
- 7:31From China to Switzerland, the readjustment to
- 7:34double -digit tariffs has been bumpy. Japan's
- 7:38economy shrank by almost 2 % on an annualized
- 7:41basis in the third quarter. Switzerland's gross
- 7:45domestic product in the same period fell by 0
- 7:48.5%, the first quarterly drop since 2023. Shipments
- 7:54to the U .S. fell 25 % compared to a year earlier.
- 7:59China appears to be slow -walking its purchases
- 8:01of U .S. soybeans despite promises to buy 12
- 8:05million metric tons this year. In crypto movement,
- 8:09Bitcoin is down 4 % to about $91 ,000. Ethereum
- 8:15is down 5 % to just over $3 ,000. An XRP is down

- 9:11back to the show. Let's talk tech. Computer chips
- 9:16in our bodies could be the future of medicine.
- 9:20The brain -computer interface is changing lives
- 9:23and has the potential to change the world. 87
- 9:27-year -old Alice Charton, from a suburb of Paris,
- 9:31experienced vision loss due to age -related macular
- 9:34degeneration. This disease affects 200 million
- 9:38people globally, impairing central vision without
- 9:41causing blindness. A revolutionary procedure
- 9:44called Prima, developed by Science Corporation,
- 9:48has restored some vision for patients like Chartin.
- 9:51In clinical trials, nearly 80 % of participants
- 9:55improved their eye chart performance significantly.
- 9:59The future of brain -computer interfaces holds
- 10:01promise for enhancing abilities and restoring
- 10:04functions for many. And in entertainment news...
- 10:11Disney and YouTube TV reached a deal late last
- 10:14week after a lengthy blackout. The two sides
- 10:17were divided on how much Disney's networks, like
- 10:20ESPN, are worth. Sports fans can expect similar
- 10:25carriage disputes in 2026. Disney's long -running
- 10:30fight with YouTube TV is over as channels, including
- 10:33ESPN, return on Friday night after a 15 -day
- 10:37blackout. However, Disney warned that more blackouts
- 10:41may be ahead due to expiring contracts with paid
- 10:44TV providers. Analyst Alan Wolk predicts that
- 10:48disputes will become commonplace in 2026. As
- 10:53the court -cutting movement continues, fewer
- 10:55people have paid TV subscriptions, leaving die
- 10:58-hard fans as the main customers. Disney argues
- 11:02that its valuable sports rights make its networks
- 11:05essential. Some customers may gawk at rising
- 11:08monthly bills. YouTube TD had leverage due to
- 11:12its parent company Google. Companies like Charter
- 11:16are adapting by bundling streaming services,
- 11:18which has helped slow their cord -cutting rates.
- 11:22Media giants must secure value for their networks,
- 11:25while TV providers have reasons to resist, leading
- 11:28to potential conflicts in 2026. Well, all righty,
- 11:33folks. It's time for the quote of the day. And
- 11:37today, our quote comes from the American inventor
- 11:40and visionary, Thomas J. Watson. And he said,
