- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus, powered by Seahawks dot Com. Now here's your host,
- 0:09Speaker 1: NASA Chobee.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk. This is the
- 0:14Speaker 2: one you've all been waiting for. Seahawks forty nine ers
- 0:17Speaker 2: NFC West title one seed, first round.
- 0:20Speaker 3: By on the line all this weekend. Bump This is
- 0:23Speaker 3: what we do this job for.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why the people play the games, That's why
- 0:26Speaker 2: people coach it all for moments like this.
- 0:28Speaker 4: This is it. Man.
- 0:28Speaker 5: You put yourself in a position to get the number
- 0:30Speaker 5: one seed to snatch the division. This is a great
- 0:33Speaker 5: opportunity to have in front of them.
- 0:35Speaker 3: And we talked about this earlier.
- 0:36Speaker 2: This feels like twenty nineteen, except the difference in this
- 0:39Speaker 2: game is that both teams can get the one seed.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Twenty nineteen, only the Niners can get the one seed.
- 0:43Speaker 2: But no, this is I'm excited. I'm hyped up. Let's
- 0:46Speaker 2: talk about it. Get right into it. What's on tap?
- 0:50Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 0:52Speaker 2: These forty nine ers twelve and four second place in
- 0:54Speaker 2: the NFC West wins over the Seahawks, Saints, Cardinals, Rams, Falcons, Giants, Cardinals, Panthers, Browns, Titans, Colts,
- 1:02Speaker 2: and Bears. Losses to the Jags, Bucks, Texans, and Rams.
- 1:06Speaker 2: They just want to die, Bump. We've been watching this
- 1:08Speaker 2: team all year. We know how talented they've been. They've
- 1:10Speaker 2: been this good for a very long time. Injuries though,
- 1:13Speaker 2: You lose Nick Bosa, you lose Brock Party for five games,
- 1:16Speaker 2: you lose Fred Warner, you lose George Kittle, Brandon Ayuk.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It goes on and on and on. But here they are.
- 1:22Speaker 2: They've won six games in a row. They also control
- 1:25Speaker 2: their destiny because if they win, there are all the
- 1:27Speaker 2: things we just talked about. So it's they're resilient and
- 1:31Speaker 2: they're still here. What'd you see from him against the
- 1:32Speaker 2: Bears last Sunday night.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Man, it was.
- 1:34Speaker 5: It was a thriller man both he's combining for nine
- 1:37Speaker 5: hundred and thirty six yards. They were both thirteen to
- 1:40Speaker 5: twenty two on third down, six hundred and thirty three
- 1:42Speaker 5: yards passing between both QB's them three hundred and ten rushing.
- 1:46Speaker 5: It definitely was a shootout of With that being said,
- 1:47Speaker 5: this game did not start. It did start with a
- 1:49Speaker 5: pick six from Brock. Prairide I was like Okay, okay, Chicago,
- 1:52Speaker 5: I see you get going. But let's fast forward to
- 1:54Speaker 5: the end of the game. The forty nine Ers goal
- 1:56Speaker 5: on a seventh place seventy five yard drive, inning with
- 1:58Speaker 5: a thirty eight yard touchdown from Party to Juwan Jennings.
- 2:01Speaker 5: That made the score forty two to thirty eight San
- 2:03Speaker 5: fran with two minutes left in a game.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, this was a back and forth one of the
- 2:07Speaker 2: best games of the year. I mean, we talked about
- 2:09Speaker 2: the Seahawks Rams game. Obviously that was probably the number
- 2:11Speaker 2: one game in the year. This was right neck and
- 2:13Speaker 2: neck with that. With those two minutes, Bears get the
- 2:15Speaker 2: ball back, travel sixty three yards on fifteen plays, converted
- 2:18Speaker 2: a fourth and five complete that little hooking ladder.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I know Ben Johnson called that plays.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Like gotty gotty.
- 2:23Speaker 3: But when they weren't, man, you're probably dang.
- 2:25Speaker 4: See.
- 2:25Speaker 2: They probably thought they were gonna score in that play.
- 2:27Speaker 2: They didn't balls down the two yard line. Last play
- 2:29Speaker 2: the game, play breaks down, Cab Williams does what he does,
- 2:32Speaker 2: extends the play, rolls to his right. Honestly, if you
- 2:35Speaker 2: had a little bit more on that bump, it's a touchdown.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Uh, he didn't. They lose the game.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Rock Party finished that day twenty four to thirty three,
- 2:42Speaker 2: three hundred three yards, three touchdowns, one pick. Also had
- 2:45Speaker 2: twenty yards on six carries in two rushing touchdowns.
- 2:48Speaker 5: McCaffrey was doing what he does one hundred forty yards,
- 2:51Speaker 5: twenty three carries, one touchdown. He also had forty one
- 2:54Speaker 5: receiving yards on four receptions. On the other side, Caleb
- 2:57Speaker 5: Williams twenty five to forty two, three hundred two touchdowns
- 2:59Speaker 5: and Deantre Swift had two touchdowns. Luther Burden and Loveland
- 3:04Speaker 5: the two rookies couldbine for fourteen receptions, two hundred thirty
- 3:06Speaker 5: two yards and two touchdowns.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it was an offensive game, which is going to
- 3:09Speaker 2: play into what we're about to talk about because you
- 3:12Speaker 2: love it. I love seeing the Niners give up that
- 3:14Speaker 2: many points.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yep.
- 3:15Speaker 2: It will be interesting to see if the Seahawks can exploit it.
- 3:17Speaker 2: So we'll jump right into the head to head looking
- 3:18Speaker 2: at the Seahawks offense. They're eighth in the National Football
- 3:21Speaker 2: League averaging three hundred and fifty yards per game, sixteenth
- 3:24Speaker 2: rushing offense one hundred and nineteen, eighth passing with two
- 3:27Speaker 2: thirty one and second in points per game at twenty nine.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Looking at that Niner defense, they are seventh in excuse me,
- 3:34Speaker 2: I flipped over keep it on the offense, the seventh
- 3:36Speaker 2: in their total offense three hundred and sixty two yards
- 3:38Speaker 2: a game, twenty second in rush offense, fourth in pass offense,
- 3:41Speaker 2: and eighth in points per game. So offensively, both these
- 3:44Speaker 2: teams are pretty close in that game, and both teams
- 3:47Speaker 2: like to score some points.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Defensively, both teams are good against the run.
- 3:50Speaker 5: You got the Hawks third against the run, giving up
- 3:53Speaker 5: ninety four nine or six against the run given up
- 3:56Speaker 5: one to ozh three. The separation is in the pass
- 3:58Speaker 5: defense and the total off total offense. Niners are given
- 4:02Speaker 5: up three hundred and thirty eight yards per game that's nineteenth,
- 4:04Speaker 5: the Hawks two hundred and ninety two yards per game
- 4:06Speaker 5: that is six. And then pass defense Hawks given a
- 4:08Speaker 5: one ninety eight that's twelfth and the forty nine Ers
- 4:11Speaker 5: two hundred and thirty five yards that is twenty fifth.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Scoring defense, Hawks are second in the league, giving them eighteen,
- 4:16Speaker 5: Niners thirteenth in the league given up twenty two.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Crazy how four points can separate two teams out?
- 4:21Speaker 3: Uch?
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yeah? And also they don't they don't intercept the ball.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Niners are near the bottom when it comes interceptions six
- 4:27Speaker 5: interceptions the Hawks have seventeen.
- 4:31Speaker 2: And then sack numbers for me, I mean, these guys
- 4:33Speaker 2: will talk about a little bit more. They do not
- 4:35Speaker 2: get after the quarterbacks. So it's gonna be interesting. But
- 4:37Speaker 2: obviously you can pick and choose your stats. You can
- 4:39Speaker 2: pick and trees. What's good for the Hawks, good for
- 4:41Speaker 2: the forty nine ers. Both these teams are very good.
- 4:43Speaker 2: That's why they're top of their own divisions. It will
- 4:46Speaker 2: be sure be interesting to see what happens there. But
- 4:48Speaker 2: these teams obviously division rivals. They have played a ton
- 4:51Speaker 2: over the years. Let's know the history, no your history.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Seahawks lead the all time series thirty one to twenty four,
- 4:58Speaker 2: thirty and twenty three in the regular season, one and
- 5:00Speaker 2: one in the postseason. However, the Niners have won seven
- 5:03Speaker 2: of the last eight meetings, which is crazy. Remember of
- 5:05Speaker 2: the Seahawks, there's a sixteame losing streak. The Seahawks snapped
- 5:08Speaker 2: it down to Santa Clara last year, but Week one,
- 5:11Speaker 2: the Niners took that one. It's a low scoring game
- 5:14Speaker 2: decided in the fourth quarter. Josh Job he had an interception.
- 5:17Speaker 2: The Seahawks then faced a fourth and one with the
- 5:21Speaker 2: game tied at ten ten on the nineteen yard line,
- 5:23Speaker 2: they elected to kick the field goal instead of going
- 5:25Speaker 2: for it. They go up thirteen to ten with three
- 5:27Speaker 2: twenty four in the game, a decision that I stand
- 5:29Speaker 2: behind m h I think it's really ironic.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Now.
- 5:32Speaker 2: All season long, people have been crediting Mike McDonald and
- 5:34Speaker 2: the coaching staff for how well they are in late
- 5:36Speaker 2: game situations.
- 5:38Speaker 3: People were not talking like that after Week one.
- 5:40Speaker 4: That one weekend, they don't know what they doing.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I still thought that was the right call.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Anyway, the Seahawks on the field defensively, three twenty four
- 5:45Speaker 2: left in the game, the Niners pull out a drive
- 5:48Speaker 2: the best driver of the day. Rock Party finds Pearsol
- 5:50Speaker 2: in that forty five yard play, a play that you
- 5:52Speaker 2: thought Reek Wolm was probably gonna intercept. Honestly he didn't
- 5:56Speaker 2: wasn't able to come down with it. And then brock
- 5:57Speaker 2: Party on third down also finds Jake Tongjis in the
- 5:59Speaker 2: back of the end zone, another play thought the Seahawks
- 6:01Speaker 2: might intercept. They go up, and despite all that, Niners
- 6:04Speaker 2: go up thirteen seventeen thirteen. The Seahawks still had a
- 6:07Speaker 2: chance to win the game. They drive all the way
- 6:08Speaker 2: down to the nine yard line. Nick Bosa has his
- 6:12Speaker 2: best rush of the game. Sam darn fumbles. There would
- 6:14Speaker 2: have been open receivers on that play. The Seahawks probably
- 6:17Speaker 2: win the game. Unfortunately they didn't. That's how that one ended.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Donald finished sixteen to twenty three, one fifty no touchdowns,
- 6:23Speaker 2: no interceptions, Sharbonney forty seven yards on twelve carries in
- 6:26Speaker 2: a touchdown. Jason still got lose one hundred and twenty
- 6:29Speaker 2: four yards on nine receptions, and in brock Prity twenty
- 6:32Speaker 2: six to thirty five two seventy seven, two touchdowns, two picks.
- 6:35Speaker 2: McCaffrey held in check running the ball twenty two carries
- 6:37Speaker 2: sixty nine yards, but made some plays in the past
- 6:39Speaker 2: game nine receptions for seven seventy three yards. Niners dominated
- 6:44Speaker 2: time possession, but that game was frustrating if you're a
- 6:47Speaker 2: Seahawks fan, because that's a game where you really feel
- 6:49Speaker 2: like they should have won it. But that's why they
- 6:51Speaker 2: play the games. They will have a rematch on Sunday,
- 6:54Speaker 2: but the football attention back kind of reset what's going
- 6:56Speaker 2: on in the division, what's the word and.
- 7:02Speaker 4: The Seahawks or the NFC West champs again.
- 7:05Speaker 3: What's the word in the West? On Hawk talk?
- 7:09Speaker 5: All right, let's talk about the best division in all
- 7:12Speaker 5: of football. The NFC West Seahawks are on top of it,
- 7:14Speaker 5: thirteen and three, San Francisco right behind him at twelve
- 7:17Speaker 5: and four, the Rams eleven to five, and the Cardinals
- 7:19Speaker 5: three and thirteen. The table has been set, showdown. It's
- 7:23Speaker 5: about to go down for the number one seed. First
- 7:25Speaker 5: run by all. This is going down on Saturday. If
- 7:27Speaker 5: the Seaks lose, they'll be the fifth seed. They'll be
- 7:29Speaker 5: on the road to either Carolina or Tampa. If the
- 7:31Speaker 5: Niners lose, the Rams and the Cardinals game will decide
- 7:34Speaker 5: if they are the fifth or the sixth seed. But
- 7:36Speaker 5: at the very least we know that the nc West
- 7:38Speaker 5: w have three teams in the playoffs, the best division
- 7:42Speaker 5: in football.
- 7:44Speaker 4: We'll see from that Rams game, surprising Rams game.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Going into that, the Rams jump up twenty or go
- 7:51Speaker 2: fall back twenty one zero, and I'm thinking, okay, the
- 7:53Speaker 2: Falcons are going to find a way to I.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Didn't want to text you. I didn't want to Jinxon.
- 7:57Speaker 5: It was going down. I was like, let me text dance.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I'm like, I ain't take him yet.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I just kind of knew the Falcons were gonna find
- 8:02Speaker 2: a way to lose that game. I figured the Rams
- 8:04Speaker 2: were too good of a football team. Well, guess what
- 8:05Speaker 2: if they let him back in the game. The Rams
- 8:07Speaker 2: scored twenty one unanswered points after it was a twenty
- 8:10Speaker 2: four to three game. The aut of that was jump
- 8:12Speaker 2: started by Jared Verse blocking a punt, running it back
- 8:14Speaker 2: for a touchdown. That really jump started to come back.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Hey fired a special teams coach, Get the special teams
- 8:19Speaker 5: play a McVeigh.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Come on now, all right, they'll figure it out. Uh
- 8:22Speaker 2: the Falcons. They get the ball back, so it was
- 8:24Speaker 2: twenty four, twenty four to two, forty six lefts in the game.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Kirk Cousins drives them down a little bit. They kick
- 8:28Speaker 2: a fifty one yard field goal by Zangin Zalez. Rams
- 8:30Speaker 2: had twenty one seconds left, whokin a cool almost man
- 8:33Speaker 2: an unbelievable catch on the sideline, was unable to come
- 8:36Speaker 2: up come down with it. The Rams turned the ball
- 8:38Speaker 2: run downs and they lose the game. But the best
- 8:40Speaker 2: player in the field that day, without question, with Jehan
- 8:42Speaker 2: Robbinson easily one hundred ninety five yards twenty two carries
- 8:46Speaker 2: one touchdown, also had a ninety three yard touchdown. I
- 8:49Speaker 2: believe it was like the fourth longest touchdown run on
- 8:51Speaker 2: Monday Night football.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yep.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Matthew Stafford three interceptions, including a pick six in twenty
- 8:56Speaker 2: two thirty eight two sixty nine two touchdowns. Not what
- 8:58Speaker 2: you expect to see from the NBA. I wonder if
- 9:00Speaker 2: that'll cost him. I think it did NDP race thing
- 9:02Speaker 2: it did break may probably come down with that anyway.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And Rams closed out their season against Arizona. If they
- 9:08Speaker 2: win and forty Niners lose, they'll be the fifth seed.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So very very interesting. I still think they are dangerous. Heck,
- 9:14Speaker 2: if they're in the playoffs.
- 9:15Speaker 5: I love how you still got to play ramsing. You're
- 9:18Speaker 5: not gonna sit down and then sit your starters. Now,
- 9:20Speaker 5: you still gotta play.
- 9:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 9:22Speaker 5: We already talked about the Bears and the Niners. Let's
- 9:24Speaker 5: talk about the Cardinals.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Man.
- 9:25Speaker 5: The tough season continues. Cardinals have now lost eight in
- 9:30Speaker 5: a row. Come on, that's hard over there, man. They
- 9:32Speaker 5: only won one game in the last fourteen after starting
- 9:35Speaker 5: the season two and oh. They were soundly beaten by
- 9:37Speaker 5: the Bengals thirty seven to fourteen last week, and now
- 9:39Speaker 5: they get the Rams on Sunday to close out the season.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Fighting for your life, Cardinals, Let's fight for your life.
- 9:44Speaker 5: That's all you can do. Pride at this point. You know,
- 9:48Speaker 5: we've had tough early years. Obviously, this year's going great.
- 9:50Speaker 2: You know, twenty twenty one Russells got heart that was
- 9:52Speaker 2: in a fun season but still won seven games.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah, one win in fourteen weeks.
- 9:58Speaker 4: That's tough.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Fear people down there and there or someone of that
- 10:01Speaker 2: is tough. And let's football attention. Back to the game
- 10:04Speaker 2: that's happened in this Sunday Seahawks forty nine ers time
- 10:06Speaker 2: the man up?
- 10:07Speaker 3: Hey, who you got?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Who you got?
- 10:09Speaker 3: You know what time it is? Man up?
- 10:10Speaker 1: Man up, brother, man up, man up? On Hawk Talk.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Where do we start?
- 10:16Speaker 2: We start with the quarterbacks looking at Brock Purty taking
- 10:19Speaker 2: on this Seahawks defense. Week one, against the Seahawks, Party
- 10:22Speaker 2: suffered a turf toe injury, so his year has been
- 10:24Speaker 2: all up and down since then. He missed the next
- 10:26Speaker 2: two games and came back played against Jacksonville. He re
- 10:29Speaker 2: injured it, then on the shelf till week eleven. While
- 10:32Speaker 2: he was out, Mac Jones stepped in and played pretty well.
- 10:34Speaker 2: He honestly might be the unsung hero. We do that
- 10:37Speaker 2: on our post game show. He's probably Unhunk's hero, unsung here,
- 10:42Speaker 2: couldn't talk right there. He's the unsung hero of their team,
- 10:45Speaker 2: I think in my opinion from Afar, Yeah, eleven games,
- 10:48Speaker 2: eight starts, two to one for two eighty nine twenty
- 10:50Speaker 2: one and fifty one yards, thirteen touchdowns, six interceptions. He
- 10:54Speaker 2: kept their season alive, offensively, kept that thing moving. Party's
- 10:58Speaker 2: come back and he's looked pretty good. Two games alone,
- 11:00Speaker 2: he's responsible for ten touchdowns and just two interceptions. On
- 11:03Speaker 2: the year, Party two thousan forty yards, twenty touchdowns, nine interceptions,
- 11:08Speaker 2: thirty one carries one hundred and twenty six yards in
- 11:10Speaker 2: three touchdowns. Last game against Seattle twenty six thirty five
- 11:14Speaker 2: two seventy seven, two touchdowns, two interceptions. Now, we've talked
- 11:18Speaker 2: about Party for years and years, up and down. He's
- 11:21Speaker 2: a really good quarterback. I think everyone knows that he has.
- 11:23Speaker 3: A magic again him.
- 11:24Speaker 2: He can make a lot of great plays, and we've
- 11:26Speaker 2: seen that last two week has been full display how
- 11:28Speaker 2: good Rock Party can be. The last two weeks. But
- 11:31Speaker 2: there's another side of Brock party. They're sure you want
- 11:33Speaker 2: to see the bad side. Look at the first half
- 11:35Speaker 2: against Carolina. He in that half he was fourteen to
- 11:37Speaker 2: twenty three, one forty four bad, three interceptions on back
- 11:40Speaker 2: to back to back possessions. So he has the propensity.
- 11:44Speaker 2: He turned the football over. That's in him. So it'll
- 11:46Speaker 2: be interesting to see him taking on the Seahawks defense
- 11:49Speaker 2: is good at taking the ball away. A lot's gonna
- 11:51Speaker 2: come down to this matchup. Defensively, the Seahawks are six
- 11:53Speaker 2: overall in they're twelfth against the pass. I'm really excited
- 11:56Speaker 2: to see if the Seahawks and force him into some
- 11:58Speaker 2: bad decisions and see if they can take the ball
- 11:59Speaker 2: away like they did twice in the first matchup.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Yeah, and just keep them contained. Right, They're gonna be
- 12:04Speaker 5: plays where he rolls out. Okay, we get it getting
- 12:06Speaker 5: outside the pocket, but all that freestyle Friday stuff he does, Man,
- 12:10Speaker 5: you gotta And I was asked, how do you stop that?
- 12:13Speaker 4: I go break down and tackle.
- 12:14Speaker 5: That's all you can do, man, because once you start
- 12:16Speaker 5: over committing, he will make you miss sou contain that man.
- 12:20Speaker 3: No douggies. I want to see, No no duggs.
- 12:22Speaker 5: If he's dancing, and the worst part of it is
- 12:25Speaker 5: that it's a clean douggie. Yeah, I don't want to
- 12:28Speaker 5: see no douggy. Nope, Sam Donald, who's definitely not gonnadug
- 12:31Speaker 5: it no matter what he does. Sam Donald's coming off
- 12:33Speaker 5: in an average game against the Panthers, but made some
- 12:35Speaker 5: huge throws in the second half when it was needed.
- 12:37Speaker 5: He was eighteen to twenty seven one forty seven, one touchdown,
- 12:40Speaker 5: one interception. According to Next Gen Stats, Donald was blitzed
- 12:43Speaker 5: on fifty four percent of his drawbacks against Carolina, his
- 12:46Speaker 5: second highest rate in a game this season, completing ten
- 12:49Speaker 5: of sixteen for eighty nine, one touchdown and one interception.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Against the Blintz.
- 12:53Speaker 5: He was particularly effective on the short throws, completing sixteen
- 12:56Speaker 5: of twenty for one sixteen on attempts under ten air yards.
- 13:00Speaker 4: The book is out.
- 13:01Speaker 5: The Niners don't blit much, but they might get after
- 13:04Speaker 5: him this game. Donald is among the best in the
- 13:06Speaker 5: league when it comes to passing yards. He's fifth yards
- 13:10Speaker 5: per pass attempt, he's second, yards per completion, he's second,
- 13:13Speaker 5: and he's tenth when it comes to pass the ratings.
- 13:15Speaker 5: So far this year, he's completed sixty seven percent of
- 13:18Speaker 5: his passes for thirty eight hundred five thirty hundred and
- 13:21Speaker 5: fifty yards, twenty five touchdowns in fourteen interceptions. The Seahawks
- 13:26Speaker 5: have led the league in at least number of sacks
- 13:29Speaker 5: allowed for the season.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Good news. Why he gets the ball.
- 13:32Speaker 5: In his hands, and this offensive line should get more
- 13:35Speaker 5: love than what they've been getting.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, no, this offense one has been protecting him a ton.
- 13:39Speaker 2: They've kind of slid in that rankings. They are one
- 13:41Speaker 2: for most of the year. They're falling to seventh, but
- 13:43Speaker 2: they still only allowed twenty five sacks. You look at
- 13:45Speaker 2: last year, howly smokes man, it's nowhere near twenty five
- 13:49Speaker 2: or forty five. We're probably that about the halfway point.
- 13:51Speaker 2: So they're doing a really good job. This Niners defense
- 13:54Speaker 2: a bump really interesting to me. Twenty fifth against the pass,
- 13:57Speaker 2: you know that. But they are dead last in sacks
- 13:59Speaker 2: with just eight team on the season, thirty eighth in
- 14:01Speaker 2: pressure with one on one, thirty eighth in pressure percentage
- 14:04Speaker 2: at just sixteen point seven. They also blitz thirtieth in
- 14:08Speaker 2: blitz percentage eighteen percent in the league. So for me,
- 14:11Speaker 2: it's all about no Nick Bosa. Yeah, I think he
- 14:14Speaker 2: really would stirs the drink. I think he really changed
- 14:17Speaker 2: what happened up front for that team, and without Nick Bosa,
- 14:19Speaker 2: they have not been able to recreate that. Nick Bosa,
- 14:22Speaker 2: in my opinion, single handedly won that game for the
- 14:24Speaker 2: Niners in the first matchup. So looking at what's going on,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I think this is a huge The game could be
- 14:30Speaker 2: won and lost right here, depending on what they're able
- 14:32Speaker 2: to do defensively. If the Seahawks are able to function,
- 14:34Speaker 2: especially Sam Darnold with that pressure.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Rate, protect him, get the ball out quick and make
- 14:40Speaker 5: that defense have to play defense, Yeah, and been good
- 14:43Speaker 5: at it.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Thirty eight points.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Last week, you want to talk about christophercaffrein.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Christian, let's get it, one of the most dangerous running
- 14:49Speaker 5: backs in the league for the forty Niners. He does
- 14:51Speaker 5: everything switch army knife right for the first time. He's
- 14:54Speaker 5: played in every game since twenty twenty two, and which
- 14:58Speaker 5: is big for him. It's always a bad ankles, something
- 15:01Speaker 5: like that. He's a three time Pro bowler, two time
- 15:03Speaker 5: All Pro. In twenty twenty three EIGHTP Offensive Player of
- 15:05Speaker 5: the Year. He's having another big season. Eleven hundred yards
- 15:08Speaker 5: at the ground, ten touchdowns, ninety six receptions, for eight
- 15:10Speaker 5: ninety and seven touchdowns. McCaffrey leaves the league with three
- 15:13Speaker 5: hundred and ninety nine touches. The closest player is Jonathan
- 15:18Speaker 5: Taylor with three fifty three.
- 15:20Speaker 4: High value usage over.
- 15:22Speaker 3: There, three ninety nine. Good god, that's a lot in
- 15:26Speaker 3: the tank.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Second in the NFL in yards for scrimmage twenty sixty nine,
- 15:29Speaker 2: only trailing John Robinson. Fourth in all purpose stars twenty
- 15:32Speaker 2: sixty nine. Ninety six receptions are seventh in the NFL
- 15:35Speaker 2: among everybody.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Everybody, not just running backs, and he's.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Number one running backs receiving receptions forty nine ers, leading
- 15:42Speaker 2: receiver for them for yards and receptions. Four hundred yard
- 15:45Speaker 2: rushing games this season. Two of them happened in the last
- 15:48Speaker 2: two weeks. Blast gag and Seattle twenty two for sixty
- 15:50Speaker 2: nine and nine for seventy three through the air Seahawks.
- 15:53Speaker 2: That's one thing they do really well is they stop
- 15:55Speaker 2: the run ninety four yards per game. Mcaffrey's tough man
- 15:58Speaker 2: because you know he's going too. Yeah, he's going to
- 16:01Speaker 2: and just this year volume they're giving him the ball,
- 16:03Speaker 2: but his yards or carry is down from his career numbers,
- 16:06Speaker 2: So he's another one. He He's one that you can't
- 16:10Speaker 2: let go off. When then when we played them in
- 16:12Speaker 2: twenty twenty two and they lost three games and they
- 16:14Speaker 2: lost in the playoff game, he can't have the sixty
- 16:16Speaker 2: nine yard of the seventy nine yards long runs from Caffrey.
- 16:19Speaker 2: He's someone you gotta keep in check, try to limit
- 16:21Speaker 2: the explosives. And he's just a really good player. He's
- 16:24Speaker 2: a baller, all right. Dwan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne.
- 16:27Speaker 5: We could piers all those receivers against the Seahawks secondary.
- 16:31Speaker 5: The receiving unit has gone through it this season, Brendan
- 16:34Speaker 5: and just never showed up. He said, look, man, all
- 16:36Speaker 5: I was going on over there. I ain't showing up.
- 16:38Speaker 5: But Shanahan in the game, ain't even flinch and the
- 16:41Speaker 5: guy guy's going Jwan Jennings hasn't been dealing with injuries
- 16:44Speaker 5: this season. Two heard his calf and training calf, his
- 16:46Speaker 5: angle miss three weeks, broke a bunch of ribs miss
- 16:48Speaker 5: week five. He's been through a pearsaw mix six games
- 16:51Speaker 5: with a PCLS train. This is probably why McCaffrey is
- 16:55Speaker 5: the leading receiver on this team, because no receiver has
- 16:58Speaker 5: been able to be consistent so you use it your
- 17:00Speaker 5: running back, and they've been using them right too. Yeah,
- 17:05Speaker 5: I mean these guys can play though. Jawan can play,
- 17:07Speaker 5: Piersall can play. We've seen them when they're healthy, no
- 17:09Speaker 5: question about it.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I mean Jennings fifty one reception, six hundred and eight yards,
- 17:12Speaker 2: nine touchdowns, Piersaw thirty six five twenty eight no touchdowns,
- 17:15Speaker 2: Kendrick Born thirty seven, five fifty one, no touchdown Altogether,
- 17:19Speaker 2: when they're healthy, they can do it. And honestly, you're
- 17:22Speaker 2: playing at Kyle Shanahan's system, right, Bump, I feel like,
- 17:25Speaker 2: have you seen a bad player in this?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Seriously?
- 17:28Speaker 2: And this I'm not taking anything away from Jennings, Piersaw, Born,
- 17:32Speaker 2: you got a former first rounder. Those guys will be
- 17:34Speaker 2: good here, they'd be good anywhere in the league. I'm
- 17:35Speaker 2: just saying that system is so good. People get plugged
- 17:38Speaker 2: in there and they have success.
- 17:40Speaker 5: If you remember the plays, Okay, just remember the place.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Have a little speed to you, a little technique, you'll
- 17:47Speaker 5: get open and catch a football.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it'll be interesting. Let's flip it over to
- 17:50Speaker 2: our guys, Bump, Jackson Smith and j but Cooper, Cupper,
- 17:52Speaker 2: Sheet Shaheed Jason. We've been telling them the best of
- 17:55Speaker 2: the game all season long. Last week nine receptions, seventy
- 17:58Speaker 2: two yards, two touchdowns, third or eve an NFL history
- 18:00Speaker 2: twenty three years or younger with seventeen hundred yards in
- 18:03Speaker 2: a single season during Isaac Bruce Justin Jefferson leads the
- 18:06Speaker 2: league in receiving, second in yards per game, leads the
- 18:09Speaker 2: league in yards per touch He's tenth in yards per reception,
- 18:13Speaker 2: fourth in receptions, tied for fifth, and receiving touchdowns. He's
- 18:17Speaker 2: been balling out. I'm just throwing this out there. You
- 18:19Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. Maybe I can manifest it will
- 18:21Speaker 2: in new existence. We haven't talked about Calvin for a
- 18:25Speaker 2: long time. Okay, Now, some people might say I'm crazy,
- 18:28Speaker 2: and maybe I am. I'm just saying he's two hundred
- 18:31Speaker 2: and fifty six yards away from that Poka Nakua a
- 18:35Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago against US. I'm just saying he's
- 18:39Speaker 2: probably not gonna get it all right, but I think
- 18:41Speaker 2: I think he will. You know, I feel like there's
- 18:44Speaker 2: I'm not gonna even get into some of the talk
- 18:46Speaker 2: that's happened throughout this week, But on the other side,
- 18:48Speaker 2: there's some talking that secondary Jackson, Fitth and j But
- 18:50Speaker 2: we know who's good he can be. I'm just saying
- 18:53Speaker 2: I think he could have a big day and don't
- 18:55Speaker 2: be surprised if he ends up closer to Calvin than
- 18:59Speaker 2: we might think creeping.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I'm just saying, hey, I like your positivity, you have
- 19:05Speaker 5: a good approach to life.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And man, this would be a fire clip if that happened.
- 19:09Speaker 2: It would holy, it would anyway. It would'st Cooper Cup. Man,
- 19:15Speaker 2: he does things that doesn't show up the box score.
- 19:18Speaker 2: We talked about his block and his leadership, all that
- 19:20Speaker 2: good stuff. But so far this year he's done exactly
- 19:22Speaker 2: what we thought he was going to do. Forty five
- 19:24Speaker 2: receptions five sixty four, two touchdowns. Last game against San
- 19:27Speaker 2: Freani had two for fifteen.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Cooper Cup, having the season at his age and his capabilities,
- 19:33Speaker 5: I think he should have Rashisha. He was placed in
- 19:35Speaker 5: concussion protocol during the Panthers game last week. His status
- 19:38Speaker 5: for Saturday is not clear. Will be a big bolt
- 19:41Speaker 5: to Dox if you don't have him. I know he
- 19:42Speaker 5: only has fourteen recepsions for one eighty six, but he
- 19:45Speaker 5: does have two returns for eight touchdown.
- 19:47Speaker 4: That's where he comes in.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I'm really hoping Marshid can get there. It's tight.
- 19:50Speaker 3: With a tough week, you never know.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Hopefully he can make his way back into the practice field,
- 19:53Speaker 2: but it's concussion protocol. There's a lot of other factors
- 19:56Speaker 2: in there, so rooting for the best there and the
- 19:58Speaker 2: last matchup, we're want to look at George ca All
- 20:00Speaker 2: against the Seahawks team man, George Kittle. He's a dog.
- 20:02Speaker 2: What else do you say about the man? One of
- 20:04Speaker 2: the best sight INDs the NFL, two time first team
- 20:06Speaker 2: All Pro, seven time Pro Bowler, second most receptions in
- 20:09Speaker 2: yards by tight end in the NFL since twenty seventeen.
- 20:11Speaker 2: He missed six games this year with injuries, but he's
- 20:13Speaker 2: still the third leading receiver for the forty nine ers
- 20:16Speaker 2: fifty two receptions, five hundred and nine nine yards, seven
- 20:18Speaker 2: touchdowns on the season, Thirteenth in the NFL in reception
- 20:21Speaker 2: touchdowns despite missing those games, fourth among tight ends in
- 20:25Speaker 2: those touchdowns. So he's the guy that gets done in
- 20:27Speaker 2: the run. In the past, he's an energy dude for
- 20:30Speaker 2: one Seahawks. He only played a little bit in that
- 20:32Speaker 2: first matchup he went down with an injury, but the
- 20:35Speaker 2: matchup I'm really looking forward to is what the Seahawks
- 20:38Speaker 2: do with even Worri and Kittle. I think we are
- 20:40Speaker 2: looking forward to seeing what that could look like in
- 20:42Speaker 2: that first matchup. So it should be fun in that matchup.
- 20:44Speaker 2: But George Kittle one of the best to do it
- 20:46Speaker 2: nothing but utmost respect, So that'll be a fun matchup.
- 20:50Speaker 3: But he is definitely a problem.
- 20:51Speaker 5: He's a ball of man. He's one of the best
- 20:53Speaker 5: tight ends to ever play this game. So we'll see
- 20:55Speaker 5: what this matchup looks like.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Do you think he becomes a Hall of Famer? Oh?
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think look like the only the
- 21:02Speaker 2: only reason I said that he's got about seven thousand
- 21:05Speaker 2: receiving yards, I think he's a Hall of Famer. I'm
- 21:07Speaker 2: just I don't know, because some are some tight ends
- 21:09Speaker 2: have put up stupid numbers.
- 21:11Speaker 3: But I just think the respect in the game and.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Everything't look like that. Though it does, it looks different,
- 21:17Speaker 4: it doesn't.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Boys.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, we'll see how these Seahawks get this
- 21:21Speaker 2: victory on Sunday Path the victory.
- 21:24Speaker 1: After forty five waits for the staff, Michael Dixon puts
- 21:28Speaker 1: it down.
- 21:28Speaker 3: That kick is away.
- 21:29Speaker 1: If that kick is good, good day.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Off.
- 21:32Speaker 1: When it's good, it's a path to victory.
- 21:35Speaker 2: On Hawk Talk, bringing up again at the most important
- 21:39Speaker 2: time of the year, coach McDonald's said, these guys have
- 21:41Speaker 2: earned the right to expect to win. Be decisive, relentless, shocking,
- 21:45Speaker 2: see it all over this building. That's how the se
- 21:47Speaker 2: also played most of the season. That's why the Seahawks
- 21:49Speaker 2: are thirteen and three on the year. Obviously, going up
- 21:52Speaker 2: against a great opponent twelve and four San Francisco forty
- 21:54Speaker 2: nine ers, you're on the road, in their house, all
- 21:56Speaker 2: the marbles. This is time to get it. And how
- 21:58Speaker 2: you start bump is huge. Start fast. I don't want
- 22:01Speaker 2: it to be one of these games. But the Seahawks
- 22:03Speaker 2: can't move the ball offensive in the first half and
- 22:05Speaker 2: get down and behind the eight ball. I want them
- 22:07Speaker 2: to be able to run the ball. I want them
- 22:08Speaker 2: to be able to get in a rhythm. And when
- 22:10Speaker 2: this defense can play with the lead, it can be dangerous.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and protect your boy.
- 22:14Speaker 5: They don't sack the quarterback eighteen sacks in the NFL,
- 22:16Speaker 5: the Niners last in the league. Miles Garrett has more
- 22:19Speaker 5: sacks than this whole team does. All right, don't let
- 22:22Speaker 5: them get after the quarterback. Let him shine, let him
- 22:25Speaker 5: work from a perfect pocket. I was watching the Bears
- 22:28Speaker 5: game and Caleb had pocket for days sitting back there.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Maybe slide a little bit, but it was nothing crazy.
- 22:34Speaker 5: Let's keep this going and go over the top. The
- 22:36Speaker 5: Hawks need to hit some big plays. Fine jsm get
- 22:39Speaker 5: them close to two fifty six, get him close to
- 22:41Speaker 5: two fifty six, and get their record.
- 22:43Speaker 3: No.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I mean the Seahawks right their best when he's making
- 22:46Speaker 2: plays down the field. So I want to see even
- 22:48Speaker 2: get that and continue to run the football. You've been
- 22:50Speaker 2: able to have back to back hundred yard rushers. Let's
- 22:53Speaker 2: make it three. This would be huge to get it
- 22:54Speaker 2: done this game, especially, make them honest defensively, and then
- 22:58Speaker 2: get after Brock Purty.
- 22:59Speaker 3: He'll put the ball in jeopardy. You need to make
- 23:01Speaker 3: those plays when you can.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Yeah, he'll He'll throw it up there. He has.
- 23:06Speaker 5: What last time we played him two interceptions for Week
- 23:08Speaker 5: one against US, So let's get that rolling. Contain McCaffrey.
- 23:12Speaker 5: He's gonna make his place, he's gonna get his money.
- 23:14Speaker 5: But let's not have him have a career day.
- 23:16Speaker 4: No. No, Derrick Henry against the Packers.
- 23:18Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, let's contain him. But this
- 23:21Speaker 2: is the biggest moment there. This is why we do
- 23:22Speaker 2: what we do. I'm can't be more excited for this matchup.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Primetime ESPN Saturday Night pregame show gets going at two pm.
- 23:30Speaker 3: This is for it, for it all. Let's go hopeful.
- 23:32Speaker 2: We'll be talking to you on Monday about a Seahawks
- 23:34Speaker 2: victory the one seed, what we're doing for the bye week,
- 23:37Speaker 2: all that jazz coming up.
- 23:38Speaker 3: He's Michael Bumbis on NASA Chobe. This has been Hawk
- 23:41Speaker 3: Talk
- 23:46Speaker 4: A
