- 3:01Speaker 1: That means everything.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Tonight's podcast we are doing Super Nash.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Welcome here.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We are doing some Buffalo Trace high and very sought-after products, van Winkle 12.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Special Reserve here, here lot.
- 3:19Speaker 1: B, and then we are doing William LaRue, weller, william LaRue.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Weller.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Well, if you look at mine Part of the Buffalo Antique Collection, so Super Nash knows what I like and this came to me last year in my own bottle and he's got this little bottle and he gives it to me and he's like I need to tell you what's in there, I know.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So this is old, let's see.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What does it say?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Old Glory, jeffrey, top shelf quality, age to perfection, whatever proof.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It says 100 proof.
- 4:01Speaker 1: But it just says scan the QR code smartphone to visit the name, but it you?
- 4:07Speaker 1: He basically put my name on a bottle, jeff, and then he poured William LaRue Weller in it because he's awesome.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So I figure, because it's the holidays, I better drink this up.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I better drink this one up and get this going, because it makes no sense to have him bring me up another pour of something, because that's what Super Nash does.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So tonight we are going to be doing, we're going to be talking about these two.
- 4:40Speaker 1: We're going to be talking about these two.
- 4:42Speaker 1: We're going to be talking about the antique collection for buffalo just to give everybody a little quick rundown on this.
- 4:50Speaker 3: this is a 2018 william larue weller.
- 4:53Speaker 3: It's uh 125.7 proof, and this bottle actually came from the UK because I won it back in 2019 when I was in the UK auction before they banned it during COVID.
- 5:14Speaker 3: When COVID came along, they banned all shipments and auctions to the US.
- 5:21Speaker 3: They banned all shipments and auctions to the US, and so that's why I hadn't been able to get back into that auction.
- 5:27Speaker 3: But I used to be able to pick these bottles up real cheap, and by real cheap we're talking well, not quite MSRP, but you know, maybe $100 or $200 more than MSRP, but maybe $100 or $200 more than MSRP, which is significantly lower than secondary market, which this bottle goes for somewhere around $1,600 to $1,800 on secondary right now.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and we're going to talk about that.
- 5:57Speaker 1: In the state of Ohio we have lotteries for it, so one of the one uh whiskey, um, he's on from time to time.
- 6:06Speaker 1: He basically won the lottery this year for the batch of the of uh van winkle 12 year special reserve right, and then he also won as far as an antique george t stagg.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Now the antique collection consists of um thomas handy, eagle, rare george t stagg and william larue.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Weller, now the thomas handy is, and the sazerac, and that's eagle rare, 17 year, and the sazerac rye, 18-year.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Okay, but those are even one step further up.
- 6:44Speaker 1: They're not part of the, just the.
- 6:45Speaker 1: They're there.
- 6:47Speaker 3: They're just.
- 6:48Speaker 3: They're part of the antique collection.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Whereas the 17-year has a special bottle with the little top on and it's way.
- 6:58Speaker 1: The regular collection is the MSRP, if I, if I'm not mistaken, for these are like what was it?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Did you say once?
- 7:07Speaker 1: The one?
- 7:07Speaker 1: 189 for the antique collection, something like that, if I'm not mistaken on the way on this, william larue.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Weller, yeah, I believe it's like uh 229.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Okay, so it's gone up.
- 7:23Speaker 1: It could be I'm not sure, but I know.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Uh, er 17, you're thinking double eagle?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Very rare, tiny.
- 7:31Speaker 1: It's just great having walker tell me how wrong I am because I suck at it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: A couple of weeks ago, grabbed a william luerweiler.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Um whiskey doc.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Did what'd you pay?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Um whiskey doc, that's nice to know.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Um john jerry, thanks for having us.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I recommend making your own alcohol with your own copper mousses.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Still, we're manufactured.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great, we do.
- 7:59Speaker 1: We love it when people make out, make their stuff, as long as john, you just put that one up.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's great.
- 8:06Speaker 1: But if you start hitting all my people, here goes nothing, um but um, spammers go away.
- 8:14Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Well, I mean, jonathan, if he's putting that up, that's fine.
- 8:18Speaker 1: One time it's okay.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Spam is when he everybody, so hopefully he doesn't hit everybody on the thing and then I'll have to block him.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But so, getting back to the actual, you know these bottles Now I do know.
- 8:34Speaker 1: The 12-year-old, if I'm not mistaken, is like $149.99, the 12-year-old, because I think when you get into the 15-year-old that's $199.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And then it goes up from there on the 20 and the 23, as you keep going on the family reserves.
- 8:54Speaker 3: The old Rick Van Winkle is like $119.99, $149.99 for the 12-year, 149.99 for the 12-year, Would you say.
- 9:05Speaker 3: That for the 15-year is like what?
- 9:07Speaker 1: 199?
- 9:08Speaker 1: Okay, so last year I'm not going off of this year's prices, but last year I think the 10-year Old Rip Van Winkle was 99.99, but it probably went up.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Everything goes up, we all know this.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Now I want to quick talk about this, because right here in the Michael Jackson's Whiskey the Definitive World Guide edition I've got some stuff that I can read off of this about what they do with these collections, and it's really kind of cool.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I shouldn't put it there, but let's do it like that there is.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I had it right there.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Each autumn Buffalo Trace also produces the much-anticipated Antique Weller Collection.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It includes William Leroy Weller, sazerac Rye, eagle, rare and George T Stagg, all aged 17 years or older.
- 10:04Speaker 1: The antique collection bottlings are selected from a small batch of around 27 barrels, each enough to make 300 cases of whiskey.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's why they're so sought after.
- 10:16Speaker 1: They're smaller batches, I mean, and it's Buffalo Trace.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But then the Buffalo Trace Van Winkle Collection also acts as a distributor partner for the Van Winkle family's sophisticated range of aged whiskeys.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Van Winkle bourbons are truly small batch.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Only about three or four barrels are used per bottling.
- 10:37Speaker 1: The first Van Winkle family was introduced in 1984.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It was designed to be an after-dinner sipping whiskey.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Bottlings include well-aged bourbons and some stunning straight ryes, but they are in limited supply.
- 10:52Speaker 1: So you know I wanted to get.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Think probably those bottlings are a little bit more.
- 11:09Speaker 1: They're they're doing bigger barrel batches.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Would you agree they're super nash, or would you disagree?
- 11:17Speaker 3: I, I think they're doing a little bit bigger than that.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Uh, now, just because of production and and and just demand, you know for it, uh, they've got to be, you know.
- 11:31Speaker 3: So I would be safe to say that they are.
- 11:34Speaker 1: so john said van winkle, 13 year rye and peppy 15 in chicagoland have been going for about $2.15 approximately in local store raffles.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Have you been lucky on that one, john?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Because I wish I was lucky on my ultimate bottle right now.
- 11:51Speaker 1: At one point last year my ultimate bottle that was eluding me was EH Taylor barrel proof.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I was able to get an EH Taylor barrel proof, but right now I would say and yours too, super Nash, is to land a 15-year family reserve is what I think.
- 12:12Speaker 3: And that's coming.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm getting closer and closer to that oh.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I try.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I mean I collected.
- 12:17Speaker 1: At one point we had enough of the trading value that I helped you amass and then it went away yeah, uh it quickly, because it's like man, it's like they mass produced the weller special reserve.
- 12:31Speaker 3: It was like holy shit, by the time I got the case, I got it down here and then I took it to my guy and like, well, I just got a ton of it.
- 12:39Speaker 3: So, uh, I don't need it anymore, and so I've got that case.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Well, mine is too, because I sold two at MSRP to my little brother here just last week.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And you should, all right.
- 12:56Speaker 1: So what are you pouring?
- 12:57Speaker 1: You're pouring the Van Winkle first.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Absolutely All right, van Winkle first.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Absolutely Am I happy, glen Karen, that my wife gave me about two years ago.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I am pouring mine into a scotch and bourbon boys.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I kind of confiscated it.
- 13:16Speaker 3: It's actually her Glen Karen, because this is her favorite pour out of all the 740-something bottles I got up there.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Jamie, holiday time, or if she just needs to have a good pour, this Van Winkle Special Reserve 12-year is absolutely the best thing that she likes to drink or sip on.
- 13:41Speaker 3: So she doesn't very often.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So, john, actually it's a christmas tradition for her to always have.
- 13:48Speaker 3: On christmas eve she always has a four of us that's.
- 13:53Speaker 3: You know, I always got to keep keep somewhere on hand and I got a backup bottle in there.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Oh my god, it smells so good series I get cherry.
- 14:04Speaker 1: oh, I get a like, I get a cherry caramel like a caramel cherry sundae.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But um, uh, john.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So jamie asked if we got our bourbon executive certification.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yes, me and super nash.
- 14:18Speaker 1: A couple years ago we actually, like four years ago, did the bourbon certification, the bourbon steward certification, at Wilderness Trail with Macaulay and Pat Heist, and then we got our executive bourbon stewards two years ago after the week of Kentucky Bourbon Festival of 2023.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And right after actually it was 2022, wasn't it?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yes, 2022, yeah, yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And right after that we had a pour of Pappy 15.
- 14:53Speaker 1: And that takes me into the next segment of what we're doing, because John Ritt says his mom won a 15-year Pappy two years ago and it became his Christmas present.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So that was a win-win.
- 15:07Speaker 1: But how you get Van Winkle and Pappy, you see a lot of it.
- 15:15Speaker 1: This year, one of the coolest pours I saw was a Family reserve 15 pour from 2009.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I was at where was I?
- 15:28Speaker 1: I was at the House of Commons after Bourbon on the Banks, and Chris there, who we had met, and he's from the Dayton area.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He had been sharing so many pours with everybody, but his last pour before he left was a pour of the 2009 Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15-year.
- 15:46Speaker 1: And I could smell it.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I was standing next to him, as he did.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I could just smell that caramel coming off there.
- 15:52Speaker 1: That was salt, Wow.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That just sounds so delicious so tonight's really kind of special for the podcast, in my opinion, because think about it, let's see, we've thomas anders on there.
- 16:07Speaker 1: He's come on and, um, while I try to get some sleep, he says cheers is just going to listen while I try to get some sleep, yeah, we can.
- 16:16Speaker 1: He's got deer hunting, but uh, he's he to.
- 16:19Speaker 1: That's a first people where he's telling us he basically uses us to go to sleep.
- 16:26Speaker 1: How exciting is that.
- 16:30Speaker 3: But you know, Good luck deer hunting.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But out of all the stuff that anybody as far as marketing and Buffalo Trace there's so much on the market these days, but one thing the Van Winkles Julian Van Winkle has been able to do is basically keep his brand, which was a Stitzel Weller brand, up until Stitzel Weller closed.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Then they procured the stock when Buffalo Trace contracted with them to start distilling for them.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Now, this 12-year would be something that Buffalo Trace distilled and it's the same thing.
- 17:06Speaker 1: They had very specific specifications right and then they based….
- 17:14Speaker 3: And also specifications on where they aged this stuff.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Right and they get to pick.
- 17:21Speaker 1: If I'm not mistaken from what I hear, they get to pick their pick of the weller barrels as they go and they, I would say, what they really have.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Now there's a weller 12 and this is a van winkle 12, but the family reserve into the 15, that's what all the weller that goes longer keeps going and going.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Now I know that the centennial what was that this year?
- 17:47Speaker 1: Was that a weller that was a weller centennial and that one was like 20 or 24, 2002, 2001 distilled bourbon and it was um, haven't had a chance to try that, but I'm hoping at one point you know, we, we know somebody who actually has the bottle we can go up there and have a christmas light show with it.
- 18:09Speaker 1: It was giant, light up body box.
- 18:12Speaker 1: It was amazing, but anyways.
- 18:14Speaker 1: But this 12 and the 15 are so good.
- 18:17Speaker 1: But let's just talk about the bottle of the 12 that I have up on my shelf, my empty bottle, that bottle you obtained when me and Young Nose came down for that first Kentucky Bourbon Festival of 2020.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I think it wasn't in the 2020 that was canceled, but we went to the house anyways, isn't that how it went?
- 18:41Speaker 1: That's why we're getting reverb because my sound is still up right here and I'm gonna put it down.
- 18:49Speaker 1: yeah, there we go.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Um didn't knock out any sound now, but I think that's what it was, and we shared that.
- 18:58Speaker 1: We opened that bottle as friends and had the pours of it that night and then you basically took it home and, if I'm not mistaken, at the time Sherry drank a little bit out of it and then you brought probably a third of the bottle up to me for me to have at the Christmas party.
- 19:18Speaker 1: So I was very excited about that.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I coveted that for a while.
- 19:23Speaker 1: But now this pour has been here for a bit, right, and I've been waiting for this podcast.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So tonight is an excellent podcast, because we don't always do this.
- 19:34Speaker 1: But Mr Savias is high.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Knowing how good it is, but we're drinking the high-end stuff tonight, right?
- 20:33Speaker 3: Right Cheers, Mr Severs.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yep, and then let's see I mean the nose on this is what I want to smell.
- 20:46Speaker 1: When I smell this is like, okay, we're not barrel bashing it, but it's a four with a ba-dup-dup yeah, and you know, I just can't wait to taste it.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I've already been sipping on mine and it's like a cherry cordial.
- 21:03Speaker 1: This is a special night for it, right.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Maybe it's this one.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Is it this one that's up?
- 21:10Speaker 1: I guess no, I just don't know why I can hear it somewhere.
- 21:16Speaker 1: All right, here we go.
- 21:23Speaker 3: You didn't even open that bottle at all and even sip that of it or anything.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Which one that 12 years since you've had it?
- 21:30Speaker 1: This one.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 1: No.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I was just wondering.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Look, I poured a full pour and I still have more.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Oh my God, so good, so good.
- 21:48Speaker 1: It's like a maraschino cherry kind of thing with creaminess and caramel.
- 21:56Speaker 1: That is crazy.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Crazy good.
- 22:00Speaker 1: It's like a cherry cream in a chocolate-covered cherry, that little cream that's around the cherry, between the cherry and the chocolate yeah, but it's like 10 times better than that, like it's like the most exquisite version of that, like best cream, like like in the movie amadeus, when he talks about the chocolates that he gives amadeus, his wife, the nipple of whatever, and she's like it's like that kind of candy stuff that they made for you know the king, a little bit of chocolate, a little bit of chocolate, just a slight little bit of oak.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Normally I would speak to oh my God, look what it does in the glass.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It just makes the most fantastic Beautiful.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Beautiful.
- 22:59Speaker 1: It's like coats in this really thick coat.
- 23:02Speaker 1: And what's the proof on it?
- 23:06Speaker 3: The proof on this is it's only 90.4 proof.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Now 90.4 proof the body on this is unfreaking believable.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It is the body's a it drinks like a barrel strength, I mean it fills up your cheeks, it goes everywhere.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it covers all sides of your tongue.
- 23:34Speaker 1: This Pappy Van Winkle really delivers, and you know you like this one because it's obtainable to some extent for us.
- 23:42Speaker 1: You've obtained bottles before.
- 23:45Speaker 1: You're always working.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It's not like the elusive 15 year, but the 15 years, the one that I'm going after, and you know I can.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I can fairly regularly get the old rip 10 and yeah, but old rip 10.
- 24:01Speaker 1: There's some weller, that does you know.
- 24:03Speaker 1: That's got.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You're getting back into the weller level of just the regular Weller.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Now, the reason why I wanted to do the William LaRue Weller, which is a 17 here, going up against the 12, there's a reason why I want to do that, because this is the difference between what did they say?
- 24:21Speaker 1: A five to seven barrel batch to make the Pappy Van Winkles and then yes, All right Walker.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah, joey DiGragio, he likes a McClellan's 12 Sherry Oak cast.
- 24:39Speaker 1: We like McClellan's 12.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And I'm sure that I haven't had the Sherry Oak cast, but I believe me and CT, the Dalmore that we had with the Sherry Oak cast was fantastic.
- 24:55Speaker 1: So, scotch and those Sherry Oak casts are great.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I love Middle West.
- 25:01Speaker 1: The Middle West or La Rosa cast finished, those are fantastic.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Orion down there, we should be going to see them pretty soon.
- 25:12Speaker 1: So that's kind of cool and looking.
- 25:16Speaker 1: You know tonight's podcast, I'm pretty excited.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Go back by Starlight too.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Been a while since we've been there For you.
- 25:24Speaker 3: They just just so you know, they just released that whole thing too.
- 25:25Speaker 3: It's been a while since we've been there For you.
- 25:28Speaker 1: They just released that whole thing that's going to be about.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You really should think about coming up Saturday.
- 25:35Speaker 1: There's like there's so much Penelope.
- 25:39Speaker 1: They just released all the Starlight ones.
- 25:43Speaker 1: They've got the.
- 25:46Speaker 1: I already told Rachel that, when it comes to that pick, I was on it and I was excited about that.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Um, there's ones.
- 25:54Speaker 1: There's a couple that we picked that's missing and I don't know.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I was talking to ct.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I was asking ann tonight.
- 26:00Speaker 1: She was with wendy from penelope, so she's gonna check on it, but I want to know which one, because I was looking forward to it and it's not there yet.
- 26:08Speaker 1: So you know anybody that's listening on YouTube or Facebook.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Ohio has this thing called single barrel.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Saturday and the first one, I spent my night in in the truck and I'm going to spend a night in the truck I did for the second one this year's the third one, and it's just what I do.
- 26:24Speaker 1: It's like it's fun.
- 26:26Speaker 1: The people are out there, you get a little bit of sleep, you go and then they have.
- 26:31Speaker 1: They announce some special bottles in the morning plus all the single barrels that they're releasing, and they had a four.
- 26:38Speaker 1: There's a four roses single barrel.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I mean there's a bunch of single barrels that are out for Fray Ranch Last year.
- 26:45Speaker 3: It was like Weller, Foolproof, Weller, 12-Year and all because, you were like calling me and like what do I get?
- 26:53Speaker 3: What do I get?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's because of my wife's Christmas present.
- 26:57Speaker 1: You had already obtained the 12-Year, so I wanted to know what I needed to buy, because I didn't want two of them, I wanted one of them.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Now what's crazy is I have not opened either one.
- 27:10Speaker 1: You know, I've got open bottles of foolproof all over the place, so I have with you on friday night for a single barrel.
- 27:19Speaker 3: saturday like man, it's like these past two years, well or foolproof barrel picks have been all over the place, like down here.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but what's awesome when you get those barrel picks but you also have Weller Foolproof.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I was able to get the actual last year, the actual, not barrel pick for the state, but the actual Foolproof blend which, once again, if you've got a Pappy barrel pick opposed to this blend, the blends where it's at for these people.
- 27:51Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
- 27:52Speaker 1: These are the ones where those barrel blends that they're picking to make these batches they bake, basically make each barrel better.
- 28:01Speaker 1: You know, when you do a barrel pick it's a little different.
- 28:03Speaker 1: So's see Lapperleg 10 or 16 single malt is really good.
- 28:09Speaker 1: It's my best friend's favorite.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That's what Joey says.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But I will tell you, Joey, that you got to be getting into some bourbon man, especially this.
- 28:19Speaker 1: This Van Winkle 12-year kills any.
- 28:24Speaker 1: It pretty much kills any scotch.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But, scotch is that smoky kind of barbecue, and this is dessert and it is a sipping.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Like they said, it was made as dessert sipping whiskeys, and this is spectacular, wouldn't you say Absolutely.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they hit the nail on the head when they designed this to be an after-dinner dessert whiskey.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I guess that's probably why my wife likes it so much.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I got to look real quick and make sure that we didn't lock up on Facebook.
- 29:02Speaker 3: I kind of looked at me because I had the bottle sitting out here.
- 29:05Speaker 3: She walked over.
- 29:07Speaker 3: She was standing there.
- 29:08Speaker 3: What's that Pappy 12 you're setting out there for?
- 29:12Speaker 3: I was going to ask you you don't mind us sipping on it tonight on the podcast, like what you want to drink.
- 29:24Speaker 3: My Pappy 12?
- 29:25Speaker 3: My Van Winkle 12?
- 29:26Speaker 3: Not Pappy 12.appy 12?
- 29:27Speaker 3: My Van Winkle 12?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Not Pappy 12.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah, but your Van Winkle 12.
- 29:31Speaker 3: But it's still people refer to it as Pappy 12.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll be getting called out left and right.
- 29:36Speaker 3: We start calling it Pappy.
- 29:37Speaker 3: That's not Pappy.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Very delicious pour.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 29:46Speaker 1: There's aspect of this that is just so, so good.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Um, if you have a chance to get it, I would absolutely um get it if you're gonna get a chance to get it.
- 29:59Speaker 3: You know, an msrp or slightly above.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I mean I would pay.
- 30:03Speaker 3: I.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I mean I would pay I honestly for this.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I would pay for the 12, I would pay up.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Around 300 would be my cutoff for me.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I don't know about you.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Only, if only you were jumping at those auctions back then.
- 30:26Speaker 1: You know it was going for six, seven hundred dollars for the family reserve 15 and you were just kind of like hemming and hawing.
- 30:33Speaker 1: And then when we decided we were going to actually do it, you weren't going to pay over a thousand dollars for the bottles and that's where it had gone to.
- 30:40Speaker 1: But just think if we would have jumped on it back then.
- 30:42Speaker 1: We just but little did.
- 30:43Speaker 3: We know right yeah, exactly 90 proof of I did.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I did obtain a lot of ph tailors, I mean all the way back to 2012, especially through that uk auction, and those bottles you know I've got stashed away, you know, and they're they're worth two and three times and some of them even four times some of those barrel proofs that I got put back that I where I bought like batch two and three and four.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Yep uh, you know where.
- 31:17Speaker 3: I paid like two hundred dollars on the auction.
- 31:19Speaker 3: They're worth over twelve, fourteen hundred dollars for like batch three.
- 31:23Speaker 1: right now it's like collecting baseball cards.
- 31:26Speaker 3: You know that's something I probably wind up getting passed down to my son, because I don't sell whiskey.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I open it up and drink it with friends and family.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Well, I got to come over more often, so we can cut that collection down a little bit.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Anything on the shelves out here, we'll open up, open up and what, what, what was that out here?
- 31:51Speaker 1: I was thinking more like I want to be digging in your closet in the bunker, you know who's the only?
- 31:58Speaker 1: One you're gonna let dig now, if tiny comes to supernation's house, whose closet who's gonna?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Who's the only one that you'll dig in the closet for you, exactly, anyways.
- 32:11Speaker 3: We'll go to the closet any time.
- 32:13Speaker 1: So this is.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Wait a minute.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Everybody that didn't, that didn't, all right, wow.
- 32:23Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 32:24Speaker 1: So Joey says he likes Maker's Mark Weller, small Batch 1462 or 1792.
- 32:35Speaker 1: And then one with a good eagle's head as the cork Forgot the name, the eagle's head as a cork.
- 32:44Speaker 1: When you're talking about that one that is double eagle, double Eagle, rare, that's pretty good.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And then Knob Creaky likes so good, no, isn't bad.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I like actually Old Tub if you're talking about.
- 33:01Speaker 1: I'll go to that even.
- 33:02Speaker 1: But tonight we are talking this 12 Van Winkle is fantastic.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I saved a little bit for Roxy, so thank you for that wonderful pour Super Nash.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Did she save you any Maker's Mark celery?
- 33:23Speaker 1: That we couldn't find the bottle.
- 33:24Speaker 1: We can't find a sample bottle.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I'm just kidding, walker.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Walker, I saw him.
- 33:33Speaker 3: He found it the other night.
- 33:34Speaker 3: I did not find the celery I did not find the celery.
- 33:42Speaker 1: the other night I found the 15-year that he left me of the of the uh russell's reserve did you, did y'all ever get any of those uh makers, martin dna project uh bottles up there?
- 33:57Speaker 1: Are you talking about the heart project I got?
- 34:04Speaker 1: The 2024 heart bottle no, the dna I did not so.
- 34:10Speaker 1: So now we're gonna go to you should finish that up, that 12, because we are gonna head over to this.
- 34:17Speaker 1: William larue, weller, um, this is part of that antique collection knows that knows that glass since you finished it, I watered it out.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Oh, you watered it out.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because I wanted to clear it for the for my Jeffrey bottle.
- 34:36Speaker 3: And you didn't have a fresh Glencairn, Fresh, clean scotchy Bourbon Boys Glencairn like this one right here If anybody would like to purchase one.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, talk to me, ct or SuperNash.
- 34:49Speaker 1: You saw that we honored Walter into the Crystal Glencairn Club, right?
- 34:57Speaker 1: Oh, I did not.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yes, when I went down I gave him his Crystal Glencairn live at Whiskey Thief Festival two weekends ago.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I missed that he was honored.
- 35:12Speaker 1: He sent me a picture and he was pouring pours into it.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Oh, my God, I don't know if I'm.
- 35:21Speaker 1: See, I really want to tell the difference between I really wanted to do a Pappy than the William Leroux Weller, because the first time I ever had William Leroux Weller was at, uh, gervasi.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Mike Alefferton had gotten a bottle and he brought it in and I did a live tasting reel of it and a short and I cried, I cried, I seriously cried, I cried.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Also the the russell's 13 I was able to taste there and you know it's funny because as a whiskey connoisseur, a whiskey podcaster, a pourer in some cases is all need.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I don't need a whole bottle because, honestly, it's really hard to drink.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I mean, don't you find that you get into like your mind locks up?
- 36:17Speaker 1: My mind locks up when I come down to what I'm going to drink on a Friday night.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I just want one pour.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I can't choose.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I'm like, do I want Russell's 13, 15, michter's 10, michter's old granddad 16?
- 36:34Speaker 1: And that's you know.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Oh, I know I get to stand in front of these shelves.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and I just don't know what to pull the trigger.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it gets confusing really, and especially like on a friday or saturday night and uh, after it's been a great week.
- 36:51Speaker 3: So, on this, I'm good, I'm blessed to have such great pours back here, and but it's not always about the top shelf, because I'm I'm down here looking and you can see well, if I could put the camera down there, you can see.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I mean the lower shelf bottles down there are equally, you know, just as low.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I mean because I hit those.
- 37:17Speaker 3: I hit those from time to time too, because I like something different, a different taste, a different flavor, a different mash bill.
- 37:24Speaker 3: You know it's not all about.
- 37:27Speaker 3: You know, top shelf bourbon, top shelf bourbon.
- 37:30Speaker 3: You know the allocated stuff, the hardest stuff, hard to get stuff.
- 37:34Speaker 1: You know what I mean yeah, I totally know what you some nights.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I got so much to choose from and I'm like what I mean the maker's mark.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I do try and bring up a couple bottles to like in my bedroom so that after like whatever, if I want another pour after the podcast, I don't have to come back down and try whatever.
- 37:53Speaker 1: It's just right there.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Right now I think I got a maker's mark caramel um macchiato and then I've got also a russell's reserve barrel pick that I actually like.
- 38:05Speaker 1: That came from Camp Nelson, a Russell's Reserve, you know, not the 13 or the Brickhouse Reserve or all that stuff, it's actually a.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Camp.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Nelson barrel pick of just Russell's.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Reserve the camera just like focused right in on the legs of this.
- 38:22Speaker 3: It's just so thick and it takes forever.
- 38:27Speaker 3: So this let's talk about the proof of this, this.
- 38:28Speaker 1: It's just so thick and it takes forever.
- 38:29Speaker 1: So this, let's talk about the proof of this and the age of this.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You've got the stats on this.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I don't.
- 38:34Speaker 1: You've got it right there on the bottle.
- 38:36Speaker 3: You've got those prescriptions 2018, so it's six, six years old.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Uh, since it was bottled, uh, it's 125.7 proof so 2000.
- 38:48Speaker 1: But think about that, think about it, it's seven read what says it.
- 38:52Speaker 3: It says right there, on the top of that no, I can't.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Oh wait, there, it is uncut, unfiltered so and think about it.
- 39:03Speaker 1: It's a 2000, it's a 2018 and it's at least 17 years old, so this was distilled at the turn of the century or in 2024,.
- 39:12Speaker 1: This was something that was distilled in 2001.
- 39:15Speaker 1: It's so funny because when it turned, I thought I was old at 36.
- 39:21Speaker 1: And we just keep getting further and further away from the turn of the century.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You know what I mean.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And we keep going around on this merry-go-round around the sun and having a really good time.
- 39:39Speaker 1: This is another win-win podcast for me when I'm thinking about what's happened in my wife.
- 39:47Speaker 1: We just had an employee that was sick.
- 39:50Speaker 1: That was really, really good.
- 39:52Speaker 1: That did a lot of cleanup and stuff.
- 39:53Speaker 1: He just came back to work.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Podcast is doing super on YouTube and Facebook.
- 39:59Speaker 1: We appreciate all the viewership that we're getting.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Yes, we do.
- 40:06Speaker 1: It's funny because, we're going to tens of thousands of viewers, tens of thousands of viewers each week, and now the audio podcast isn't doing the greatest.
- 40:17Speaker 1: But why listen to the podcast when you can watch it?
- 40:21Speaker 1: And we're kind of exciting tonight.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I gotta think.
- 40:24Speaker 1: I, I mean honestly, I gotta figure out this youtube thing.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I don't, I think we can do.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I, I did not know I could screen share.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Now I don't.
- 40:32Speaker 1: This is for two people.
- 40:34Speaker 1: So when we go to three and four, I don't know if you can do that with three and four, but I'm really happy I can do it with two.
- 40:40Speaker 1: So that's that's great.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Um, you know, I could really pan out mine and I could put whoever was on there on the screen on my half and then you could be on one.
- 40:52Speaker 1: So we could really work this out.
- 40:53Speaker 1: That's really exciting.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I did this completely by accident, folks.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Then you're talking about not going to lie very happy.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Um, the direction of what happened.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Um, I know, I, I, anybody who's, I respect anybody who was on the other aspect, uh, there's, you know, one way or another we're all gonna live and you don't expect.
- 41:20Speaker 1: But you know, overall a lot of stress has come off me, but my wife, I'm becoming a midwife and then tonight, just like this podcast tonight.
- 41:30Speaker 1: It's so exciting.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Just think about this.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I just tonight had two pours I'm about to drink William LaRue Weller and 12-year-old Pappy Van Winkle on one podcast.
- 41:42Speaker 1: So what's up?
- 41:45Speaker 3: You know I turn my volume down on on the on my phone right every now and then I mean just this happened like the third time just now.
- 41:53Speaker 3: This volume of you speaking, or me speaking, pops through on this thing.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I was like where the hell is it coming?
- 41:59Speaker 1: yeah, I'm at the same way.
- 42:01Speaker 3: I can hear it up there, just whatever it's all the way down, but it's just every once, well, yeah, every now, and then it just pops through a little bit, just like it did with you talking, but uh john ritz says we're coming out of the closet, not out of the closet, just uh.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You know it's just well.
- 42:20Speaker 1: All you gotta do is look at me.
- 42:22Speaker 3: I'm not coming out of the closet, I mean good old boys we were, we were going into the closet all I could say for the, for the future, is I just want everything to work out.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I hope it works out.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I hope it works out for every single person.
- 42:38Speaker 1: And you know what?
- 42:40Speaker 1: If somehow it doesn't, I will be the first to admit that you, you know, but I seriously don't think it's going to not so anyways.
- 42:50Speaker 1: But you know, I've been wrong before, been wrong before, and I love everybody.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Horrors cross over all boundaries of human beings.
- 43:03Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what your opinion is.
- 43:06Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what your opinion is, it doesn't matter what your ethnicity is, it doesn't matter what your religion is and it doesn't matter what the color of your skin is, because bourbon, basically, is people who you know, love and appreciate, the people who make it the whole the whole presidential race if I could just go up to Washington and sit down in a room and open a bottle of like William LaRue Weller with Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, President Trump and President Trump's not going to sip, you got to leave him out.
- 43:43Speaker 1: He's one of those they call it something, totalities, or they're ones that don't uh, they don't actually participate in drinking of alcohol.
- 43:54Speaker 3: So I would teach them all the kentucky tube and we'd all be sipping on this bottle of william lurer roller and we'd work some shit out.
- 44:03Speaker 1: What.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Work some stuff out.
- 44:06Speaker 1: That caramel, that is a candy, a hard candy.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Werther's Jesus.
- 44:15Speaker 1: God.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Now, what's a proof of this?
- 44:18Speaker 1: William Lewerweller 125.7.
- 44:22Speaker 3: To me it's like cinnamon brown sugar toast.
- 44:23Speaker 3: To me it's like cinnamon brown sugar toast.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I'm getting that candy, that sucking the butterscotch, or the caramel candy, of that hard candy.
- 44:39Speaker 3: So I would say the weak point of this, of the Pappy Cinnamon toast with brown sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, butter and toast.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I'm not getting that, let's see.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, gosh and caramel, lots of caramel I'm just kidding.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Caramel barrel proof heaven so I would say if there's a difference, so this is 17 years.
- 45:01Speaker 1: It's barrel strength, amazing, but for proof everything's good except the one thing on the 12-year that's not there, that's not exceptional is the finish on the 12-year is short.
- 45:15Speaker 1: The finish on this, william Leroux Weller is not short, I think, honestly.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Nash whatever it takes to get another bottle, I'll pay half, honestly I really think this is the best, this.
- 45:38Speaker 1: If someone's gonna tell, ask me now, this is 2018.
- 45:42Speaker 1: I don't know what this year is, but if someone's gonna ask me what the best bourbon I've ever tasted, I think this william larue weller is right there with the best bourbon I've ever tasted.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I agree.
- 45:57Speaker 1: It has everything that I love about Booker's, the heat and everything, but yet it's everything I love about Pappy, everything I love about Weller, and then Dude, that finish's.
- 46:19Speaker 1: It's deep, oh my god.
- 46:23Speaker 1: You know what this tastes like when you take the caramel sauce out of the jar and you're putting it on the ice cream, but then you lick the spoon.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Jesus god, that pure like.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Did they add sugar to this?
- 46:41Speaker 1: Is there sugar added in this?
- 46:43Speaker 3: here.
- 46:43Speaker 3: This is like.
- 46:44Speaker 3: It's like a caramel apple on the finish, caramel and that tart apple.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I get a tart apple I'll give you a little bit of tart.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Dip it again and just let it roll across the back of your tongue.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Get that tartness, that tartness of a crisp granny apple.
- 47:13Speaker 1: So Joey says he did Canadian mist a couple years ago and he loves to hit the bottom shelf.
- 47:19Speaker 1: That's good shit on the bottom shelf, there's no doubt about it.
- 47:21Speaker 1: If you really want good stuff, I mean if it's there.
- 47:28Speaker 1: But Ancient Age is the bottom shelf that everybody should get.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Benchmark those Bench benchmark top shelf $16.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I mean, we're talking about some of you know, but you stick with when it comes to bottom shelf.
- 47:43Speaker 1: You can stick with Buffalo Trace, there's no doubt about it, joey Benchmark foolproof.
- 47:48Speaker 3: oh my gosh, $19.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Okay, so Walker, total Walker thing.
- 47:56Speaker 1: So Walker total Walker thing.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Trump is a teetotaler Walker, you rule.
- 48:07Speaker 1: I was like when I was doing the research on people, I was like what's this teetotaler?
- 48:12Speaker 1: And he's like he actually spelled it out for me walker, I swear to god, I'm gonna make you the tiny's official assist on all podcasts cinnamon, toast, crunch barrel proof that's what john so, speaking of that, did you see?
- 48:32Speaker 1: did you happen to catch ct's newest real apple jacks with with caramel crown, salted caramel crown and apple jacks.
- 48:43Speaker 1: It's like they all liked it.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Oh and, and all I can say to that it's like uh, I think his name is brick brit.
- 48:53Speaker 1: He basically liked.
- 48:55Speaker 3: It'm like he said he could have it for breakfast.
- 48:57Speaker 1: every morning I'm like, dude, yeah, you can have it for breakfast every day.
- 49:01Speaker 1: And then I got barf emoji, barf emoji, crap emoji.
- 49:07Speaker 1: That's some shit there, ct.
- 49:11Speaker 1: But anyways, we love his cereal mixed with whiskey.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I mean, who in the God's name even thinks of it?
- 49:18Speaker 1: Plus, he convinces Rachel and his wife to come on and do it.
- 49:27Speaker 1: And then Rachel's like, well, they're all rating it as the best thing they had so far.
- 49:33Speaker 1: And Rachel's like, well, maybe an 8.5.
- 49:36Speaker 1: She could tell she wasn't into it.
- 49:39Speaker 1: apple jacks and salted caramel crown oh, anyways, um, yeah, speaking of something really good that I had, this weekend I took my granddaughter over to this place called smoosh isaac bruce it's over at the hall of fame and isaac bruce isaac bruce, um, who's the hall of famer owns the the franchise.
- 50:02Speaker 1: So we went in.
- 50:03Speaker 1: We're the only ones there.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I had a macadamia nut cookie.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I had salted caramel truffle ice cream with another macadamia nut cookie, and then I had golden grams.
- 50:19Speaker 1: No, cinnamon toast crunch.
- 50:21Speaker 1: I put cinnamon toast crunch on the outside of it.
- 50:23Speaker 1: It was absolutely delicious.
- 50:25Speaker 1: I was thinking what bourbon would pair with this, because I was thinking this is maybe that's what we should do when you come, we'll go over to smoosh with different bourbons and we'll just order cookie sandwiches and drink bourbon with cookie sandwiches right there.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I mean this is fantastic.
- 50:46Speaker 1: This even has a long finish.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I haven't had a sip enough.
- 50:52Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm sharing this.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Well, maybe I I gotta share a little bit with her because of uh walker.
- 51:00Speaker 1: I I have to make her share that 2023 uh makers, uh, celery, which I'm looking forward to seeing you again, walker, soon, because I'm looking for the rest of that bottle, because walker's awesome.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Yeah, adding a dropper to a water does open up that bourbon or whiskey a little bit.
- 51:21Speaker 3: What water so much flavor to it?
- 51:23Speaker 3: Yeah, with that sip right there, it was like a butterscotch bomb.
- 51:31Speaker 1: It was like I'm telling you, I'll say it, I taste that butterscotch.
- 51:37Speaker 1: But what I'm telling you, I'll say it, I taste that butterscotch, but what I'm tasting is as if you took Smucker's butterscotch sundae topping, you stick your spoon in it and then you just eat it right out of the.
- 51:52Speaker 1: I'm not even drinking any water with that last, that last pour.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, screw it.
- 51:58Speaker 1: I didn't have this jeffrey's bottles going back up on the shelf empty.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I gotta have some more of that.
- 52:04Speaker 3: That's insane really that's what it's for.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Enjoy it because uh, and hoard it it's for hoarding and not sharing with your wife I'll make more and I'll more.
- 52:16Speaker 1: That's what we always do, right, right, and you know everybody, we are looking at November 12th.
- 52:23Speaker 1: We are getting within a month and two.
- 52:27Speaker 1: We're six weeks away from Christmas and that Christmas party's going to be great, but I always look forward to Superdash coming up, because he outdoes himself all the time.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Now, I have to admit, for the man who has everything right now trying to figure out what I'm getting you for christmas and I got six weeks to do it.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I mean I've, I've, uh, done pretty good, I think, overall.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I mean the one paint.
- 52:54Speaker 1: And when I got you that painting, you know, I think at one point you thought I was like full of shit, right, but you knew that I would get it and I got it for you and it got signed.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I signed it, freddie, and fred signed it.
- 53:08Speaker 1: So fantastic, all.
- 53:10Speaker 1: If you get it signed by mila kunis before I do.
- 53:13Speaker 1: We should just work on that together.
- 53:15Speaker 1: So we need to invoke her to sign this painting.
- 53:20Speaker 1: The two of us, we need to get it signed at the same time.
- 53:24Speaker 1: So we need to start a Mila Kunis, please sign Tiny and Super Nash's.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Jim Beam artwork Booker's.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Jim Beam Booker's artwork Booker's.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I love that painting.
- 53:38Speaker 1: There's no doubt I love my Favre painting.
- 53:41Speaker 3: I got to get back into it because right now, I say here I look at it each time we podcast because it's right there.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I picked the perfect place for it to go right there.
- 53:49Speaker 3: And I mean it's perfect, right there.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Where worth that?
- 53:54Speaker 3: I love this wallpaper that my wife put up for me in here.
- 53:57Speaker 3: I started trying to hang these curtains, you know, uh, the shower curtains up.
- 54:02Speaker 3: She's like that looks tacky no, I love that.
- 54:06Speaker 1: I mean, right now, I like your lighting.
- 54:08Speaker 1: So what did you do to light the background?
- 54:10Speaker 1: I really like the background lit up right now.
- 54:13Speaker 1: You've got the front lighting in the back.
- 54:15Speaker 1: You look good.
- 54:15Speaker 1: You don't got too much.
- 54:16Speaker 1: You know, I don't see the top light, but you're, I mean, maybe a little bright, but not too bright.
- 54:23Speaker 1: But at the same time I'll look at you a little brighter if I could see that barrel that looks like you're in a barrel room.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I like look back there and that's just a shower curtain wall covering of the window, correct?
- 54:36Speaker 1: No, it's an a shower curtain wall covering of the window, correct?
- 54:37Speaker 1: No, it's an actual shower curtain, yeah, but it covers the window, or is it just?
- 54:42Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 54:44Speaker 3: That's spectacular.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a big double window.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I love it.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I love your shelving and everything and the way it looks Tonight on YouTube, now that we did this really cool podcast kind of thing and we can do the sharing.
- 55:01Speaker 3: I can dim the front light, and I will, for the Thursday night podcast.
- 55:05Speaker 3: It's got like three levels and I'll try it on level two.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Yeah, when I do my lighting.
- 55:13Speaker 3: I've been watching.
- 55:14Speaker 3: It kind of looks like I've got a shiny forehead and all that.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just a little bit.
- 55:19Speaker 1: You dim it down.
- 55:19Speaker 1: One it probably.
- 55:20Speaker 1: But you can tell with mine.
- 55:22Speaker 1: I know the level.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I want the front.
- 55:25Speaker 1: I've got the um, the ring light.
- 55:28Speaker 3: I'm not such a production specialist, as you, hey, remember.
- 55:33Speaker 3: That's why.
- 55:33Speaker 3: That's why I'm flying up in December.
- 55:35Speaker 3: I'll catch up on some too.
- 55:37Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I have four levels of lighting.
- 55:40Speaker 1: I've got a real back-back light, a medium light and then I've got a ring light up front and when I actually light up the, I mean what changes things?
- 55:49Speaker 1: Is this, watch this, if I stick Whiskey Thief there, all of a sudden I'm a little bit dark.
- 55:56Speaker 1: When I back that off all of a sudden, I'm a little bit dark when I back that off all of a sudden, you can see the lighting.
- 55:59Speaker 1: So it depends on what you're putting in the podcast and everything all the time to pick it up.
- 56:04Speaker 1: But you want to be able to pick up that label, you see.
- 56:08Speaker 3: I've got the ring light.
- 56:09Speaker 3: I get it.
- 56:11Speaker 3: So you're saying I need to put more whiskey in front of me?
- 56:14Speaker 1: Yeah, because it'll darken you down a little bit, it'll absorb the light, the camera will whoop.
- 56:21Speaker 1: So what do you think of that?
- 56:24Speaker 1: I mean, what did you like?
- 56:25Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, I have to go with the William LaRue Weller.
- 56:29Speaker 1: I mean it's not fair.
- 56:30Speaker 1: When are they going to do a Pappy Barrel String?
- 56:33Speaker 1: Never.
- 56:38Speaker 3: You know that's a good question.
- 56:39Speaker 3: I think we should maybe get Julian Van Winkle on the podcast and talk to him about it.
- 56:47Speaker 1: That is something that's left.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Also, I believe Drew is down there and he's the blender and Jamie can help us get.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Drew out.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Jamie knows him, I think.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Are you flying into Hopkins Airport for the Christmas party on that Thursday?
- 57:06Speaker 1: Are you flying into Cleveland or are you flying into Canton?
- 57:10Speaker 3: I'm trying to fly into Canton.
- 57:11Speaker 3: I hadn't made my reservation yet, so I need to get on that.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Yeah, you do, because that's the 27th, coming up quick.
- 57:18Speaker 1: And also I just found out that Brent Elliott wants to do Thursday, the 12th as far as the podcast, because his Friday thing was off-site that they told me that he was going to be able to do.
- 57:37Speaker 1: So now I got to go to my cousin and somehow get Thursday and Friday off.
- 57:44Speaker 1: But you know what, you only live once and you got to do what you got to do.
- 57:54Speaker 3: Let little Steve-O take us out of here All right, right, everybody.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Thank you so much, um for coming on tonight.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Uh, great podcast, nash, decent, we did.
- 58:06Speaker 1: We did all right on youtube.
- 58:08Speaker 1: There's no doubt I was watching and you were watching.
- 58:10Speaker 1: I think we're doing really good on Facebook.
- 58:15Speaker 3: But you know, I will say I would definitely give the William LaRue Weller a bit up on a couple of categories.
- 58:24Speaker 1: I think where the LaRue Weller took off and defeated the Van Winkle 12 was the finish.
- 58:31Speaker 1: That's 17 years opposed to the 12.
- 58:34Speaker 1: It's not a fair comparison, feral strength 17.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Taste too, I mean at the 15 year, maybe the 15 year would take it on right so maybe we got to get some 15 year in here.
- 58:47Speaker 1: That's what we got to do is concentrate on a 15 year.
- 58:49Speaker 1: Anybody who knows or can get something reasonable, let us know, because we are interested in a family reserve.
- 58:56Speaker 1: You know 100% the thing about the family reserve and those bottles and the packaging on that.
- 59:02Speaker 1: It's just so desirable and it's not like you can just get it.
- 59:07Speaker 1: But maybe we'll get big enough where we'll be able to get some of that stuff.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Sounds good to me.
- 59:15Speaker 1: All right, everybody.
