- 0:02Speaker 1: You ain't not gonna hold your daddy. You hold your
- 0:05Speaker 1: dad all right.
- 0:06Speaker 2: With the weather warming up, temperatures reaching eighty degrees, there's
- 0:10Speaker 2: something we've seen a lot more of in the FM area,
- 0:13Speaker 2: and that is people wearing shorts, in specific men, dude shorts.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Yes, And we had a lot of guys in the
- 0:21Speaker 3: building here at work wearing shorts.
- 0:23Speaker 1: And I was like, oh my gosh, we've.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hit Hoochie Daddy season. Because I think the shorter the shorts,
- 0:29Speaker 3: the better. Okay, However, I was told by several people
- 0:33Speaker 3: that I may be in the minority.
- 0:35Speaker 1: So we took this to the streets. And by the streets,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I mean an Instagram poll on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It couldn't have been less of the streets, right, It
- 0:43Speaker 2: was the screens, the screens, yes.
- 0:45Speaker 3: And so the poll was what is the appropriate length
- 0:49Speaker 3: for shorts for a man in the summer?
- 0:52Speaker 1: And here were your options.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Hoochie Daddy, above the knee, so your shorts go right
- 0:57Speaker 3: above the knee.
- 0:58Speaker 2: And then a picture for me, what isoci daddy? Give
- 1:00Speaker 2: me give me a give me a visual.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Oh okay, remember magnum Pi, Tom Selleck magnum Pi. He
- 1:07Speaker 3: was wearing these little shorty short shorts where you could see.
- 1:09Speaker 1: A lot of thigh muscle. Okay, they were up there, yes, okay.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Those are the houci daddy shorts. Then there are the
- 1:16Speaker 3: other shorts which are right above the knee, so I
- 1:18Speaker 3: can see, you know, some knee maybe.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Cap, yeah, some cap, that's right, and then decap.
- 1:24Speaker 3: And then the other option is over the knee. And
- 1:27Speaker 3: I always just think of John Cena in his horts
- 1:29Speaker 3: where the shorts cover his knee.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Yeah, so those ones would be the lowest, the lowest.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Those are the three options.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I asked the fm Ario, what is the appropriate length?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Coming in with.
- 1:44Speaker 3: A whopping eighty one percent of the vote, men should
- 1:48Speaker 3: be wearing shorts that end just above the knee.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Okay, so not too long, not too short either, there's
- 1:56Speaker 2: just enough kneecap bone.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yes, circle, it's the baby, the baby bear of shorts.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Lenk Wow. Okay, yeah, get it. That was a Goldilux reference.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I got it.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I actually, you know what. I don't go crazy hoochy daddy,
- 2:11Speaker 2: but I do have some shorter shorts. I wear them
- 2:14Speaker 2: a lot when I like run in the summer. I
- 2:18Speaker 2: don't like wearing big, baggy like basketball shorts or anything
- 2:21Speaker 2: like that. So I guess I would be on the
- 2:26Speaker 2: I'm somewhere in between above the knee and hoochi daddy.
- 2:30Speaker 1: What's that mid ground? Well, you're pleasing about nine percent
- 2:33Speaker 1: of the population. Parents.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I know that there is a cartoon that your kid
- 2:41Speaker 3: watches are watched that has a character in it that just.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Made your blood boil.
- 2:46Speaker 5: And for me, it's Max from Max and Ruby.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh god, yeah, I already hate.
- 2:58Speaker 3: That, right, So, if you don't know, Max and Ruby
- 3:01Speaker 3: is a cartoon about a pair of siblings who are children,
- 3:04Speaker 3: but they're also bunnies and they navigate life together and strangely,
- 3:08Speaker 3: there are no parents to be found, but sometimes the
- 3:11Speaker 3: grandma comes around. I don't know who conceived this, but
- 3:14Speaker 3: they used to play this on Nick Junior and Max
- 3:17Speaker 3: is the worst, brattiest little punk.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I cannot stand him.
- 3:23Speaker 3: The episode that put me over the edge is that
- 3:25Speaker 3: they went to the store and poor Ruby, who has
- 3:27Speaker 3: to take care of him, she's the guardian. Apparently she
- 3:29Speaker 3: only had five dollars that she could use to get
- 3:31Speaker 3: him some new overalls because his were busted. And that's
- 3:34Speaker 3: you know, a cartoon you wear the same dang thing
- 3:36Speaker 3: every day and his overalls were busted, but he wanted
- 3:40Speaker 3: a dragon shirt. Long story short, he puts on the
- 3:44Speaker 3: dragon shirt and eats a chocolate ice cream gets chocolate
- 3:47Speaker 3: ice cream all over the shirt.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So then it was like, oh, too bad, you have
- 3:51Speaker 1: to buy.
- 3:51Speaker 3: The dragon shirt now. Yeah, And so then she was like,
- 3:56Speaker 3: oh too bad, girl. You had five dollars to spend
- 3:59Speaker 3: to fix his busted overalls and he ruined it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm so mad at this.
- 4:03Speaker 3: I mean, and I saw this episode over a decade ago,
- 4:06Speaker 3: but I've still been mad about it. So I took
- 4:09Speaker 3: to social media because misery loves company, and I asked which.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Kid's cartoon makes your blood boil?
- 4:16Speaker 3: And the comments did not disappoint Please chime in at
- 4:19Speaker 3: seven oh one two, eight oh one ninety eight seven
- 4:22Speaker 3: call text us what kid's cartoon makes your blood boil?
- 4:27Speaker 1: We will talk about it next.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I cannot believe Max is now just walking around with
- 4:31Speaker 2: a shirt with spyro on it.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You know, character that you absolutely hate.
- 4:39Speaker 6: I can't stand uh Dora, the Dolora guys. I find
- 4:43Speaker 6: her to be the way that she's like Goto gotto
- 4:50Speaker 6: and then she's spelling it. She's staring at you like condescending,
- 4:53Speaker 6: like why don't you get it? I can't handle it?
- 4:56Speaker 1: She really do be judging? Yeah, she dead.
- 5:00Speaker 6: She looks at me in that screen like I don't
- 5:04Speaker 6: know anything, and I why don't you know this already?
- 5:07Speaker 6: And I really don't like it and it makes me upset.
- 5:10Speaker 6: And now I'm really upset.
- 5:12Speaker 1: By the fourth swiper no swiping.
- 5:14Speaker 2: You think you'd figure out that Swiper's just gonna keep
- 5:17Speaker 2: on swiping.
- 5:17Speaker 6: All right, Well that's the thing, right, Swiper's name is Swiper.
- 5:21Speaker 6: And then you're gonna yell at this swiper all day?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Just what is.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Wrong with what kind of a massacre? Is just chases
- 5:28Speaker 6: around this beast like stop it, stop it, stop it?
- 5:31Speaker 6: Oh man.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Dora actually is a pretty popular answer if you google yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 2: cartoon characters that people hate.
- 5:38Speaker 1: She popped up a few times.
- 5:40Speaker 3: We posed the question on Big ninety eight point seven's
- 5:43Speaker 3: Facebook page, which children's cartoon character made your blood boil?
- 5:48Speaker 3: I loved that they The comments just poured in. I've
- 5:52Speaker 3: narrowed it down to the top three characters that make
- 5:56Speaker 3: parents blood boil.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Coming in at number three, we have Ruby from Max
- 6:06Speaker 1: and Ruby is that the sister obviously is what I'm learning.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I am so far removed from kids TV these days
- 6:14Speaker 2: that I don't know who any of these people are.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Well, now you know, I don't like Max from Max
- 6:18Speaker 3: and Ruby. A lot of people don't like Ruby from
- 6:20Speaker 3: Max and Ruby. Laurie said, couldn't stand that bossy little bunny.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But I think what we I think.
- 6:28Speaker 3: What we can learn from this is maybe just skip
- 6:30Speaker 3: Max and Ruby. That's not altogether, that's not the one.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Coming in at number two we have Pepa Pig.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Pepa Pig.
- 6:38Speaker 6: Ye.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Why don't I feel like I know what this is either?
- 6:41Speaker 1: But I should.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Oh, she's a little British pig and she's got a
- 6:46Speaker 3: bit of an attitude. Ashley commented, my kid acted horribly
- 6:51Speaker 3: after watching that show.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We've banned it in our house.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Is it like a if you're a nineties baby, would
- 6:56Speaker 2: you know this show? Or is this yeah television?
- 6:59Speaker 3: I think it just goes on forever, and she is
- 7:03Speaker 3: really bratty. But coming in overwhelmingly, overwhelmingly at number one
- 7:12Speaker 3: is I'm just all right, I'm kai you kaiyu.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Is the word?
- 7:23Speaker 3: You know what I had said, I hated Max because
- 7:25Speaker 3: I had forgotten about Kayu. I think I blocked him out. Okay,
- 7:29Speaker 3: but he is the worst. Lots of people commented Evelyn said, spoiled, ungrateful, whiny.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Harry said the amount of times Kaiyu was on here,
- 7:40Speaker 3: That's what I came to type.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I love that. I don't.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And we've got we got a text that came in
- 7:47Speaker 3: that braddy whiney, baldy. Kaiyu is this four year old kid.
- 7:52Speaker 3: He's bald for no reason. Nothing happened to him. He's
- 7:54Speaker 3: just bald for no reason. And if you let your
- 7:58Speaker 3: kid watch Kaiyu, where kid will start emulating Kayu and
- 8:01Speaker 3: then you'll think, Wow, I want to put this kid
- 8:03Speaker 3: up for adoption.
- 8:10Speaker 2: We like starting the day off on a positive note.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Give us a reason to be excited for the day,
- 8:15Speaker 2: Give us a reason a smile. Do you have a
- 8:17Speaker 2: little victory, Angie.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, yes I do. So.
- 8:21Speaker 3: The deadline for the real ID is tomorrow, and I
- 8:25Speaker 3: have not gotten the real ID because I haven't been
- 8:28Speaker 3: able to find my birth certificate and getting a copy
- 8:31Speaker 3: of my birth certificate sounded hard and like I wasn't
- 8:33Speaker 3: going to do it. But yesterday my mom called me
- 8:36Speaker 3: and she let me know that while she was looking
- 8:38Speaker 3: through her papers, for something else. She found my birth certificate,
- 8:42Speaker 3: so she's mailing it to me. I should have it
- 8:45Speaker 3: by the end of the week, and I'm very excited
- 8:46Speaker 3: to stand in a very long line to get my
- 8:49Speaker 3: real ID.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Thank you, good for you. You're a real person, I know.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I think I've had the real ID forever. Well, you're
- 8:57Speaker 4: a better adult than I.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't know about all that. One my little victory.
- 9:02Speaker 2: My wife found this new kind of just walking trail,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I don't know what you want to call it. That
- 9:08Speaker 2: is about two minutes away from my house. I mean
- 9:11Speaker 2: quite literally, just a short, tiny little drive. So I
- 9:14Speaker 2: don't mind walking around the neighborhood, but sometimes it's nice
- 9:17Speaker 2: to do something a little different. Yeah, of course I'm
- 9:19Speaker 2: bringing the dog with And the trail I believe is
- 9:22Speaker 2: called the Old Grade to Riverview to Wide Sky trail.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It's kind of come or whatever. And we walked that
- 9:30Speaker 1: the other day.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So fun, like actually really cool, just something different to
- 9:34Speaker 2: do with the dog instead of just sort of walking
- 9:36Speaker 2: in this one area in South Fargo we sometimes walk
- 9:39Speaker 2: or just around the neighborhood. It was just cool to
- 9:41Speaker 2: see something that new, being in different area that I
- 9:45Speaker 2: found out was very close to my house and now
- 9:47Speaker 2: will be my go to every day.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Okay, well, I love this because you and I live
- 9:50Speaker 3: in the same neighborhood.
- 9:51Speaker 1: So now I'm gonna take my kids on kid walking
- 9:53Speaker 1: weather to this trail.
- 9:55Speaker 2: We got glass animals coming up. We'll have the tea
- 9:58Speaker 2: on the way as well. Here this morning on Big
- 9:59Speaker 2: Night eight point seven, and I discovered something that I
- 10:06Speaker 2: wanted to bring to this program here. It makes me
- 10:08Speaker 2: kind of sad thinking about this. Did you know one
- 10:11Speaker 2: in four relationships is only together due to financial need?
- 10:19Speaker 2: All they're just together out of financial necessity.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yes, I was the one in four? My guy?
- 10:25Speaker 2: Really, yeah, because I remember I was young once and
- 10:29Speaker 2: I can't remember. It was some big celebrity breakup. I
- 10:32Speaker 2: don't know if it was j Lo and Ben or
- 10:33Speaker 2: if it was.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Brad Bitton another Jennifer. I had asked my mother.
- 10:39Speaker 2: We were riding home from church one day and the
- 10:42Speaker 2: radio person at the time we were listening to had
- 10:44Speaker 2: talked about this breakup, and I had asked my mother.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I think I was maybe ten, I said, why do
- 10:50Speaker 2: celebrities seem to get divorced so often? And one of
- 10:55Speaker 2: her reasonings was, well, because they can afford it.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 2: She went on to tell me that I think the
- 11:02Speaker 2: feelings are I'm sure it's sad for them and they're
- 11:05Speaker 2: you know, really heartbroken and YadA, YadA, YadA, but they
- 11:08Speaker 2: can afford to go off and not need someone else.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And I was sitting there going, Wow, my parents can't
- 11:15Speaker 2: even afford to get divorced.
- 11:16Speaker 1: We're real poor.
- 11:19Speaker 2: So I was kind of curious, has there ever been
- 11:22Speaker 2: a situation where you felt the need to be with
- 11:24Speaker 2: someone kind of financially?
- 11:25Speaker 1: Absolutely for financial reasons.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Yes, absolutely, for finances you get a sugar daddy, But no.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I So, I was married for one hundred years and
- 11:36Speaker 3: my husband and I decided to split almost two years
- 11:39Speaker 3: ago now, right, but we were living in Seattle, Washington
- 11:44Speaker 3: at the time, which is one of the most expensive
- 11:46Speaker 3: cities in the country. So even though we split up,
- 11:50Speaker 3: it was like, but we're just still living together because
- 11:54Speaker 3: yet right and honestly, it was sordchry thing for both
- 11:58Speaker 3: of us because once the relationship is over, were living
- 12:01Speaker 3: with the person is difficult, but like, you.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Gotta do what you gotta do. We had kids and
- 12:05Speaker 1: we had to afford raising them.
- 12:07Speaker 3: So we stuck it out for a while. Just for
- 12:11Speaker 3: rent financial purposes.
- 12:13Speaker 1: What a bummer.
- 12:14Speaker 3: But you know what, I kind of not that like
- 12:16Speaker 3: misery loves company, but misery loves company.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I like knowing that this is what one in four people.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So if you feel that way, you're not alone at all.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Apparently twenty a lot.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Okay, So here I think the move is you find
- 12:32Speaker 3: other people. Is there a dating app for people who
- 12:35Speaker 3: have to be with their partners because of financial streets?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Here's you just got to swap.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yes, you just gotta swap, and then find other people
- 12:42Speaker 3: who are in financial streets and then you guys come together,
- 12:45Speaker 3: share the rent boom. You're out of your relationship, give
- 12:47Speaker 3: me all the money. I just created a dating app.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And I don't know if you saw this.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Did you see how viral this picture went of Princess
- 12:57Speaker 2: Charlotte at ten years old?
- 12:59Speaker 3: Oh, she had like a birthday party, a big old bash.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yes, it was her birthday photo. You know what drove
- 13:06Speaker 2: me nuts?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Though?
- 13:07Speaker 2: What this photo that went viral? It's just her just
- 13:10Speaker 2: chilling like in a camo hoodie.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I've never gotten viral for I know what camo is.
- 13:17Speaker 3: I've never gone viral for anything, let alone just existing
- 13:21Speaker 3: in a hoodie.
- 13:21Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 13:22Speaker 2: That kind of got I was annoyed for two reasons.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Number one, just a nice picture on your birthday seen
- 13:29Speaker 2: by millions, Yeah right. And then I also got to thinking,
- 13:33Speaker 2: this ten year old girl probably has so many photos
- 13:37Speaker 2: with celebrities, she has met so many famous people living
- 13:42Speaker 2: there at Buckingham Palace or wherever she lives. I don't
- 13:44Speaker 2: exactly know where that is, so I like, in my jealousy,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I was kind of curious, like, all right, you're ten years.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Old, maybe you're twenty years old, maybe you're forty. Whatever.
- 13:52Speaker 2: The answer is, who would you want your celebrity to
- 13:56Speaker 2: be in a birthday photo with you?
- 13:58Speaker 1: Oh, Pedro Pascal, Well you answer that quick. Yes, I'm obsessed.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I'm in love. I need him, I want him, I
- 14:04Speaker 1: have to have him.
- 14:05Speaker 3: I would settle for being in a picture with him
- 14:08Speaker 3: on my birthday.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't. Is that what? That's your celeb crush
- 14:12Speaker 1: or whatever?
- 14:12Speaker 3: Yes, Sam's game of throne days since he was Prince Obern.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Okay, I've been in love. All right. He's a daddy,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and you know I'm into.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Daddy's Okay, I don't exactly know who mine would be.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I think there's can I pick two?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yeah, since this is my game case, I would love
- 14:33Speaker 2: one picture with Eric Clapton. I don't know if you
- 14:35Speaker 2: know that is, if you're hanging out with us this morning,
- 14:37Speaker 2: but he's a guitar player.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yes, I know who Eric. I'm not talking about you.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm just saying, if you're hanging out with us here
- 14:42Speaker 2: this morning, but I started playing guitar. I think I
- 14:44Speaker 2: was around like nine ten years old or something because
- 14:47Speaker 2: of him.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Oh that's so.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I think it'd be cool to meet that dude one day, yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 2: and then the other one. I think i'm time machining,
- 14:54Speaker 2: which I know you're super against, but I'm time machining.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I need a picture with Marley Shelton. If you don't
- 14:59Speaker 2: know who that is. That was the first ever lady
- 15:01Speaker 2: I had a crush on. She was Wendy Peppercorn in
- 15:04Speaker 2: the Sandlot. Okay, so I want to pare shore with her.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I think that'd be pretty cool.
- 15:09Speaker 3: I think the closest you're ever gonna get is if
- 15:12Speaker 3: maybe I get you one.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Of those cameos for your birthday. I'll work on that
- 15:16Speaker 1: for you.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 15:20Speaker 2: if you could have one birthday photo with a celebrity,
- 15:23Speaker 2: who would be today's riety big ninety eight point seven.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It's gabeen Angie, sunny and seventy today slight slight chance
- 15:31Speaker 2: for some showers mid afternoon, but for the most part,
- 15:33Speaker 2: an excellent Tuesday today and we have gabes good news
- 15:36Speaker 2: of the day like The Pine Tree Independent School District
- 15:45Speaker 2: in Longview, Texas recently hosted a special needs prom that
- 15:51Speaker 2: brought together over six hundred high school students from across
- 15:54Speaker 2: East Texas, offering them a memorable evening filled with music, dancing,
- 15:58Speaker 2: and celebration. Teachers, parents and volunteers work together to make
- 16:02Speaker 2: sure that the students enjoyed the full prom experience. Teachers
- 16:06Speaker 2: that volunteered to make the event possible point out how
- 16:09Speaker 2: meaningful the prom was for the students, giving them the
- 16:12Speaker 2: chance to feel included and celebrated. Parents know how important
- 16:16Speaker 2: it was for the students to get to dress up, dance,
- 16:19Speaker 2: and enjoy the same milestones as their peers. The event
- 16:23Speaker 2: was described as one of the most heartwarming occasions of
- 16:26Speaker 2: the year for everyone involved.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I love that accessibility is everything and the fact that
- 16:32Speaker 3: there were six hundred students who got to come.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Together and enjoy this is major.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I think it's just so I love one ideas like this.
- 16:42Speaker 2: The purity behind them is so awesome, and I love
- 16:45Speaker 2: when they actually work and it's successful and people get
- 16:49Speaker 2: to learn about them. Now, successful isn't necessarily in terms
- 16:52Speaker 2: of numbers, whether six people show up or six hundred,
- 16:55Speaker 2: As long as the people there had a good time,
- 16:57Speaker 2: it's successful. But I love when someone just sitting around
- 17:00Speaker 2: their house one day was like, you know what, I
- 17:02Speaker 2: want to do a prom for these students, and actually
- 17:06Speaker 2: goes out and gets it done.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I just commend that. I think it's so special.
