- 0:49Speaker 3: You four finger Discount dude.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Welcome to four figure Discount a special classic review. It
- 1:16Speaker 1: is the classic review of December, and of course it's
- 1:19Speaker 1: going to be the Christmas episode Miracle on Evergreen Terrorist.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm dwand O and Guy. Now, I've always seen this
- 1:24Speaker 1: episode right as the true Simpsons Christmas fash Besides the
- 1:28Speaker 1: pilot right now, it's like a Christmas special in itself.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But March being up proud, I think is the best
- 1:32Speaker 1: Christmas episode. But Simpsons are thunder Pilot's great, so obviously
- 1:35Speaker 1: might have been up Proud is the market it's called shoplifting.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's a great story. It's got the really emotional ending.
- 1:39Speaker 1: This one here, whilst it's not so much not as funny,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I don't think as much being up Proud it is
- 1:44Speaker 1: not the better story. I just think it feels more
- 1:46Speaker 1: like a Springfield story wherever the whole town's involved, and
- 1:49Speaker 1: we've got there. It's a wonderful live parody and titles
- 1:52Speaker 1: of player on on thirty fourth Street. It just feels
- 1:54Speaker 1: like a Christmas because March. Being up Proud feels like
- 1:56Speaker 1: a very special episode of The Simpsons, as we say
- 1:58Speaker 1: here at four figure discount, where you shouldn't shop with kids.
- 2:01Speaker 1: You know you're learning your lesson, you meet your mum disappointed.
- 2:03Speaker 1: This one here is just it's the Simpsons spring for
- 2:05Speaker 1: at Christmas time. That is correct.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Yes, having said that much, Being not Proud does have
- 2:09Speaker 4: the line by me bone storm and go to hell.
- 2:11Speaker 4: It does indeed so advantage that episode.
- 2:13Speaker 1: It's not always advantage that episode, always advantage that episode.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I know I much prefer because I think this episode
- 2:18Speaker 1: here I would say has my least favorite Simpsons moment
- 2:23Speaker 1: of all time. Oh my gosh, from the Golden you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: like this black moments and the teens what not. But
- 2:29Speaker 1: and maybe it's because I remember I've mentioned it before.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I remember being on the TV and my mum seeing
- 2:34Speaker 1: it and just being just like what is this and going,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you're right, yeah, that was. It's when the two kids
- 2:40Speaker 1: from the orphanage get called free loaders and come back
- 2:43Speaker 1: when you get some parents. I thought that's just really mean,
- 2:47Speaker 1: mean spirited. I don't see how they ever thought that
- 2:49Speaker 1: was funny. It just felt so, it just feels so
- 2:52Speaker 1: it just stands out, particularly particularly for a Christmas episode. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 1: one that's.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It does have a bit of a dark I want
- 3:01Speaker 4: to go so far as a nasty sense of humor
- 3:03Speaker 4: all the way through it.
- 3:03Speaker 1: But you know, it's cynical this episode. It is kind
- 3:06Speaker 1: of cynical.
- 3:07Speaker 4: I mean, even though you've rearded the status quo, by
- 3:09Speaker 4: the end, it's like, oh, you know, the legends been
- 3:11Speaker 4: even out. You know, we don't hate you anymore, but
- 3:13Speaker 4: we'd take we did take all your ship. Even though
- 3:15Speaker 4: it ends on a very nice note of like, well
- 3:17Speaker 4: the family doesn't have it anymore. But they're still They've
- 3:20Speaker 4: still got each other, and you know they're still having
- 3:22Speaker 4: fun by playing keep you off with the It's not
- 3:25Speaker 4: keep you uppy, is it keeps off? Hands off, whatever
- 3:29Speaker 4: it is with the face washer or the handtowel or
- 3:31Speaker 4: whatever it is.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Blue, by the way, number one show on Disney. Blue's
- 3:34Speaker 1: doing all right, Blue's doing fucking incredible, the number one
- 3:37Speaker 1: showing the world. Man, I know, I am using the
- 3:40Speaker 1: art of unbelievable. And we get on that before the
- 3:42Speaker 1: none thought it was cool jo Joff What a legend
- 3:44Speaker 1: he was, That's right. Yeah. Even our review of the
- 3:47Speaker 1: songs in the Key Springfield Simpson's album with the musical
- 3:50Speaker 1: producer of Bluey Joff Bush, check it out if you
- 3:52Speaker 1: haven't done it so already. He was a cool guy.
- 3:54Speaker 1: He was a very cool guy. Indeed, yes, you just
- 3:55Speaker 1: need to get him on the show again in the future.
- 3:57Speaker 1: But speaking of the music, I particularly love the score
- 4:00Speaker 1: of this one. When the tree is melting, it just
- 4:03Speaker 1: threw out. It's still the classic Simpson's scorn, but it's
- 4:07Speaker 1: tweeked to sort of just really emphasize the moment. I thought,
- 4:10Speaker 1: particularly when the trees melting it. It's so good.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I think they also were clever in making Bart not
- 4:17Speaker 4: the villain of this or the bad guy this. But
- 4:18Speaker 4: it's his actions that sort of said it all in motion,
- 4:20Speaker 4: because you know, it's something you'd expect from Bart. He's
- 4:24Speaker 4: young enough, rash enough, impulsive enough, mischievous enough to sort
- 4:27Speaker 4: of do something. Of course child, Yeah, of course he's
- 4:30Speaker 4: going to go down and check out his presence early
- 4:32Speaker 4: and that kind of thing, and yeah, be a little
- 4:35Speaker 4: careless and that kind of stuff. But as he said,
- 4:38Speaker 4: also a child, of course, so he's gonna want.
- 4:40Speaker 1: To cover it up. You're going to forgive him lying
- 4:43Speaker 1: about it a bit more than you would and because
- 4:45Speaker 1: he doesn't want to be the guy that ruined Christmas
- 4:46Speaker 1: for his family. It's the scene that looks on their
- 4:48Speaker 1: faces that goes, oh, because he was about to tell
- 4:50Speaker 1: the truth and he goes, I can't do this. Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Somehow get the feeling like I could be way wrong here,
- 4:54Speaker 4: But it feels like in if you entered, if you
- 4:57Speaker 4: went out of classic Simpson's goal near a Simpsons or whatever, I do.
- 5:02Speaker 4: I get the feeling I might have Homer doing this.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yeah, because Bart was being selfish here, but Homie would
- 5:06Speaker 1: be doing it, it would feel more crass. I feel
- 5:08Speaker 1: like if home It was doing it for sure, like
- 5:10Speaker 1: what It's almost like he knew it could happen and
- 5:12Speaker 1: he still still did it. Anyway. That's the kind of
- 5:14Speaker 1: thing that hom It would do in the teeniar of
- 5:16Speaker 1: the Simpsons. And I think that's what the most important
- 5:18Speaker 1: element of this story is that Bart does all this
- 5:21Speaker 1: and it's because he makes the self decision. But it
- 5:23Speaker 1: was an accident. He doesn't mean to brush it down.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He was just being a kid anyway. Oh oh, so
- 5:28Speaker 1: he did the wrong thing and these were the repercussions. Yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 1: and I like that, you know, the family forgives him.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I mean, he could have done this at Christmas morning
- 5:35Speaker 1: when everyone was still.
- 5:36Speaker 4: There, that is correct. Yeah, yeah, I mean no, I
- 5:38Speaker 4: like that he was figured the moment eventually. I mean
- 5:40Speaker 4: there's the initial of cause anger and that kind of thing,
- 5:42Speaker 4: but then they rally around their little guy when everyone
- 5:46Speaker 4: else starts turning on them.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, And that's the message here is The message
- 5:51Speaker 1: overall is at least we've got each other. So even
- 5:53Speaker 1: though it doesn't seem that way because it starts off,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I thought it's it's quite clever in the way. It's
- 5:58Speaker 1: in the sense it starts off with material. We're going
- 6:00Speaker 1: to the shops and Christmas Eve, we're doing all the shopping.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Everyone's out buying toys, blah blah blah blah blah, emphasizing
- 6:04Speaker 1: what toys we're getting for Christmas. By the end, it's
- 6:06Speaker 1: who cares about the toys with each other and we're
- 6:08Speaker 1: chasing each other having fun with this rag. I'm pretty
- 6:10Speaker 1: sure they're still thinking who cares about the toys? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but they've found a little light in the darkness they
- 6:16Speaker 1: have indeed. Yeah, it's just a sweet ending. It is.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Although this was a teen era episode of The Simpsons,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I feel like I would critique the ending more because
- 6:24Speaker 1: I'd go, so, now they've got no possessions anymore. I've
- 6:26Speaker 1: never questioned it until I did this, and I went, so,
- 6:28Speaker 1: how do they get their shit back? Yeah? I was
- 6:30Speaker 1: thinking about that. You wouldn't that an insurance either, Although.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, couldn't you just call the cops? And
- 6:37Speaker 4: then you realize the cops are.
- 6:41Speaker 5: My favorite?
- 6:42Speaker 1: What's your favorite moments from the episode.
- 6:44Speaker 4: It's going in order throughout the episode. I'm going to
- 6:46Speaker 4: say not a bad scam by home pretty.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Good before that practical. I've always loved the car park
- 6:52Speaker 1: right because it's being a jerk, but it's one of
- 6:56Speaker 1: those things where who among us have arrived to the
- 6:59Speaker 1: shop to pick up a peace or something and chips,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and it's like, oh, the handicapped spots the only one left.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Let's run the numbers here.
- 7:05Speaker 4: What are the chances that someone with a sticker on
- 7:07Speaker 4: their car is going to be showing it? But this
- 7:09Speaker 4: exact moment, my pizzas ready, we got.
- 7:12Speaker 1: To run in. We've all done it. I've got a
- 7:14Speaker 1: limp in, yes, but what the best thing is, Yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 1: the way it's not just he limps in, he parks
- 7:18Speaker 1: across three of them, that's so good. I mean unnecessarily
- 7:23Speaker 1: parks across three.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I think it speaks one thing about our acceptance of
- 7:26Speaker 4: golden age Simpsons that we're kind of going, oh, this
- 7:29Speaker 4: is not jerk out Simer, this is just Homer. Yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 4: And we're almost will project our own flaws and and
- 7:36Speaker 4: faults onto him because like, as we said, who among us,
- 7:39Speaker 4: whereas I think it's the limb too. You jump, you
- 7:41Speaker 4: jump ahead ten seasons and he does that and we're like, ah,
- 7:44Speaker 4: this fucking guy.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But I feel like in the in the in the
- 7:47Speaker 1: teen year he would say something like, screw those guys.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I'm just as you know, I deserve as many benefits
- 7:52Speaker 1: as they do. Say something stupid, where this was just
- 7:54Speaker 1: suddenly pass across three spaces and the limp, Yeah we'll
- 7:58Speaker 1: go been there, Yeah, yeah, but the scam is good.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's sort of stretches credibility a little bit, but
- 8:06Speaker 4: the same I was like, I admire your moxye Homer Simpson. Uh,
- 8:11Speaker 4: a very mo line like you don't want to blame
- 8:13Speaker 4: the breakdown of this on society.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Sounds like a George stand alone. Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 4: I like the classy burg hooks for hands, hooks for hands,
- 8:24Speaker 4: sack suck with a and the and the costume needed
- 8:29Speaker 4: a band mask, and like the stripey sweater the Hamburger.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Marge had a great throwaway line where Krusty is just
- 8:38Speaker 4: referring to, as we said the other day when we
- 8:41Speaker 4: were like, what do we call money.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Bread or dough anymore? That's great, should do that.
- 8:44Speaker 4: And then of course Krusty just uses all these antiquated
- 8:48Speaker 4: terms where well, if you mean the money, I didn't
- 8:52Speaker 4: enjoy it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: That very I thought you would have loved Brockman in
- 8:54Speaker 1: this just the hustle of getting the story. Oh, this
- 8:59Speaker 1: is terrible for grief, But what did you say that
- 9:01Speaker 1: the end? He is this out stanks them all. Thanks
- 9:04Speaker 1: so much. Is a great story. Uh and probably my.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Favorite part of this episode. I really liked the song
- 9:12Speaker 4: over the closing credits.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It was great, wasn't it. Yeah, it really captured the moment.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Yea, yeah, Now I was looking for it in the
- 9:17Speaker 4: actual credits of the show credit. I didn't see it
- 9:20Speaker 4: in there. So I went to the Internet, which we
- 9:23Speaker 4: have provided, and Wiki didn't come through this time. Wiki
- 9:25Speaker 4: did not come through, but other parts of the Internet did.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I didn't rely on AI your Google some of these days,
- 9:31Speaker 4: and it's got your AI stuff at the time, like
- 9:33Speaker 4: scaring me a bit. I'm going I want my Internet handcrafted.
- 9:39Speaker 4: But the song is actually it's called Santa's on his
- 9:42Speaker 4: Way and is by a bend with a great name,
- 9:44Speaker 4: Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, so.
- 9:46Speaker 1: And so and so and so. I love that.
- 9:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I mean, we're we're.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Getting a lot of work in before Christmas here at
- 9:54Speaker 4: the full Finger disc and Industries, and we're recording two
- 9:57Speaker 4: episodes back to back today, which is whose Futurama's time
- 10:01Speaker 4: keeps on slipping? As I like to say, Yeah, by
- 10:03Speaker 4: the Steve Miller band. I always love it that you're like,
- 10:05Speaker 4: y know, you've got a bunch of guys together. What's
- 10:07Speaker 4: your band called the Steve Miller Band? Everyone's the background,
- 10:09Speaker 4: Fuck you, Steve.
- 10:12Speaker 1: There's five of this, Guard Davis and the fingers. Next question,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you there eating the paste? All right? Trivia time. My
- 10:22Speaker 1: first question for you is you're talking about homer scam?
- 10:25Speaker 1: But which register does he open? It opens register nine,
- 10:28Speaker 1: number nine, number nine, number nine, speaking numbers? How many
- 10:33Speaker 1: glasses of water does but drink? As I drink a
- 10:37Speaker 1: glass of a quarter, it would be twelve. It was
- 10:40Speaker 1: indeed twelve. Yeah, it's funny. A lot of these classic episodes.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I just it's just so instilled in my brain because
- 10:47Speaker 1: we just watched them over and over again. What does
- 10:49Speaker 1: Homer get for Christmas? What was he going to get?
- 10:53Speaker 1: A question designed just for you? That's right, it's Cajun
- 10:57Speaker 1: one of my questions actually as well. Yeah, for little
- 11:00Speaker 1: Homer keygens. I actually I wanted to point out too,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I did love the that's Mago I love you, Marjorie.
- 11:08Speaker 4: I guess I always knew that her name was Marjorie.
- 11:10Speaker 4: For some reason, I thought it was I didn't think
- 11:12Speaker 4: it was Margaret. But then do you think Maggie is
- 11:14Speaker 4: short for Marjorie as well? Because the margan will be
- 11:16Speaker 4: Maggie is usually short for mate.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Have said her name. I'm pretty sure Maggie is sure.
- 11:20Speaker 1: What is Maggie Simpson's real name? And so have a
- 11:24Speaker 1: look Margaret Lenny Simpson. Yeah, all right, you just asked
- 11:28Speaker 1: me a question. I'm going to ask you one. How
- 11:30Speaker 1: tall was flanders Christmas tree? Thirty foot? He's got thirty Wow?
- 11:36Speaker 1: What does it say on Moe's tip jar marchadis It
- 11:41Speaker 1: was just a nice moment for Mo, just like, yeah,
- 11:43Speaker 1: given the whole given the whole jar. Yeah, it was
- 11:45Speaker 1: just a nice Springfield moment, wasn't It was like this
- 11:48Speaker 1: this town. They're always at odds, but when something goes
- 11:51Speaker 1: wrong with one of them, they come together.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Well that's the very It's a wonderful last night. I mean,
- 11:54Speaker 4: that's that's a direct end of the movie. That's a
- 11:56Speaker 4: direct lift. Yeah, I mean I think either Mo or
- 11:58Speaker 4: someone else is literally rest like Jimmy Stewart's brother. Yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 4: from that scene. Can I have to watch It's a
- 12:03Speaker 4: Wonderful Life again soon? Just my big brother, George, the
- 12:07Speaker 4: richest man in town.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I think I've asked you three questions, but I'll find
- 12:13Speaker 1: one more for you, because why not? I like this episode?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Really not asking you one? Did we asked me the
- 12:21Speaker 1: last one? Go for it?
- 12:22Speaker 2: Oh?
- 12:22Speaker 1: Okay, what are the names of those two orphans?
- 12:24Speaker 2: Oh?
- 12:24Speaker 1: That is poor Violet and Patches? Well you mentioned up
- 12:38Speaker 1: at Christmas Carol? Yeah? Someone else who is watching that
- 12:41Speaker 1: apparently for the first time. Yeah, I could not believe it.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Flabberg acid. Someone say, is can we call him our
- 12:46Speaker 1: new miror uo stonecutter? Well, we have it at number
- 12:51Speaker 1: one is but she's very near the top. Okay, yes,
- 12:54Speaker 1: she had number one of all of the stonecutters we
- 12:57Speaker 1: have here. But the number one stonecutter of for figure Disco,
- 13:00Speaker 1: I don't even know who it is yet. Oh, no one,
- 13:07Speaker 1: No one knows he's the number one stone cutter, who's
- 13:08Speaker 1: a fourthing a discount yet it shall be revealed in
- 13:11Speaker 1: due time. I don't know. We're actually ranking them? What
- 13:13Speaker 1: does this mean? So on the Patrion group, we have
- 13:17Speaker 1: a list of people and by the order in which
- 13:20Speaker 1: they joined the Stonecutters. Kay, okay, do I get to
- 13:23Speaker 1: read them out again? This time? I enjoyed doing it. This, Oh,
- 13:25Speaker 1: go for it. First of all, we're talking about our

- 15:32Speaker 1: seen it before, but I've forgotten about what happens. It
- 15:35Speaker 1: was like the second episode of Jeopardy that Alex Trebek
- 15:37Speaker 1: ever hosted, and the question was at the end, now
- 15:39Speaker 1: they do the question, they gamble what they bet and they.
- 15:42Speaker 4: To quote Bruce Willlison die, how would you like to
- 15:44Speaker 4: go for double Jeopardy where the schools can really change?
- 15:47Speaker 1: So the question was what date? What was the date
- 15:51Speaker 1: that the twentieth century started? What was What's your answer?
- 15:56Speaker 1: January first, nineteen oh one. Yeah, that's correct. Everyone wrote
- 16:01Speaker 1: nineteen hundred. Why is it nineteen oh one? Because when
- 16:04Speaker 1: the year two thousand started, we said we're in the
- 16:06Speaker 1: new millennium.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Because I think when you start counting numbers, you don't
- 16:09Speaker 4: start at zero. If I said, you count to ten.
- 16:11Speaker 1: So the year two thousand wasn't it's still the twentieth
- 16:13Speaker 1: century then yeah, I mean I think this is where
- 16:17Speaker 1: you get kind of banantic. Yeah, because everyone bet all
- 16:20Speaker 1: their money, so no one had any money left at
- 16:22Speaker 1: the end of the night, all right, yeah, even not
- 16:23Speaker 1: the champion. He was like, you had nine thousand and
- 16:25Speaker 1: five hundred dollars. You gambled at all? Would I would
- 16:27Speaker 1: have beat the house out of that? Yeah, but yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 1: it's it's it sounds weird. I mean people the crab
- 16:32Speaker 1: were feurist too, because he's just like, well, thanks for
- 16:34Speaker 1: watching someone. The guy in the crowds like, what's the ancident?
- 16:36Speaker 1: It was like, yeah, yeah, what's the ear is? It's like,
- 16:39Speaker 1: don't sell me. I'm picturing those angry New Yorker's in spier. Man,
- 16:43Speaker 1: you messed with one of us, He messed with all.
- 16:45Speaker 1: They weren't happy and everyone's because when they go the
- 16:48Speaker 1: first guy goes nineteen hundred, and that is incredib whole
- 16:51Speaker 1: grade goes Wait what now, I don't know what to think. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I just but as you said, when we get to
- 16:57Speaker 1: thee two thousand and said we're entering the new millennium
- 17:00Speaker 1: on the year two thousand, which was the two thousand
- 17:04Speaker 1: January first. So how could generally does it make sense?
- 17:07Speaker 1: I know what you mean. Is it a technicality thing
- 17:11Speaker 1: because we all said we're entering the new millennium at
- 17:13Speaker 1: the year two thousand.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I think it's one of those it's almost like a
- 17:18Speaker 4: print legend thing where.
- 17:20Speaker 1: These people lost money. Yeah, I'm sorry, no, no, no, no, no,
- 17:24Speaker 1: that's for the two thousand things.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's very much. Well, it's a nice
- 17:28Speaker 4: round way to sort of like start over. Yeahinetek ninety nine.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Fields, what did you feel like we're entering the new millennium?
- 17:34Speaker 1: So I certainly did so. If a movie is made
- 17:36Speaker 1: in the year two thousand, is it a twentieth century film? No,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I would refer to as a twenty first century film.
- 17:42Speaker 1: But it's not, though. Yeah, that's just ridiculous. I know, right,
- 17:45Speaker 1: that's so stupid.
- 17:46Speaker 2: It is.
- 17:48Speaker 4: It's just one of those sort of lies that we
- 17:50Speaker 4: universally agree upon. Well not even a lie, but just
- 17:54Speaker 4: it's very much we're actually, you know, the twenty fifth century.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Sts Like I said before, it's like when you're still counting,
- 18:02Speaker 4: you don't count.
- 18:02Speaker 1: It, you just watch it's worth. It's always like autro
- 18:05Speaker 1: back when he's calling them out for it's like, oh God,
- 18:09Speaker 1: one way is ain't gonna be doing? That's the Jeopardy music. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I've never really got into Jeopardy. I'n gole Darren like Doug,
- 18:22Speaker 1: he he's always loved it. Whenever you go to Darren's place,
- 18:24Speaker 1: he Doug was always watching it, but I never I
- 18:26Speaker 1: think I quite got it. Did we do a local
- 18:28Speaker 1: version of it? We did local? Yeah, because we've done
- 18:31Speaker 1: We've a low get this where a fortune? Yeah? I know.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I saw it on templane. I was like, oh, we'll
- 18:38Speaker 1: fortune straight up. But I'm like, oh, Graham Norton's hosting.
- 18:39Speaker 1: How's he still doing his show? It doesn't make sense. Yeah,
- 18:42Speaker 1: it's hosted by Graham Norton from the UK. It's filmed
- 18:45Speaker 1: in the UK, but as branded as a strike funk off,
- 18:48Speaker 1: but it's got Australian expats on it. It is the
- 18:51Speaker 1: and it is so bad? Is it so?
- 18:54Speaker 2: Now? It is?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Every time they spin the wheel and because we watched
- 18:57Speaker 1: the American wheel fortune occasional Nick or night and they
- 19:00Speaker 1: offer one hundred thousand dollars every time for a cash prize.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Every price posy you win in like five ten grand.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Like people leave of like five ten grand is a minimum, right,
- 19:07Speaker 1: Some people live like thirty forty fifty, one hundred plus
- 19:10Speaker 1: it's like one hundred dollars, one hundred and twenty dollars,
- 19:13Speaker 1: one hundred and three the jackpot. The jackpot is five
- 19:15Speaker 1: hundred in the States, it's five thousand. I spent that
- 19:17Speaker 1: much to get here. Yeah, And but every time the
- 19:20Speaker 1: wheel goes around before I get ss, the end of
- 19:21Speaker 1: the crowd goes oh. And it's like that got old
- 19:26Speaker 1: after the second spin. Oh dear, it's so bad. It's
- 19:30Speaker 1: once a week, goes for an hour and never watch it.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I'm trying to Yeah, I don't recall if Australia ever
- 19:34Speaker 4: did its own version of Jeopardy one. Now we've borrowed
- 19:37Speaker 4: a whole bunch of formats from all over the world.
- 19:39Speaker 1: You nice is right, absolute banger, absolut Arry mda mate.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that guy. I don't know if we're doing
- 19:47Speaker 1: what a lord this episode, but a lord, let's do it?
- 19:49Speaker 1: What not, Larry, he's got a logo this year, finally, finally,
- 19:53Speaker 1: last year whatever, I think it was this year. But yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 1: so we did prices, right, we did a fortune, obviously
- 19:58Speaker 1: we did. What else did we do? Phrase I believe
- 20:00Speaker 1: was maybe a UK show to catch Hollywood squares, but
- 20:03Speaker 1: we called it something different, Celebrity Squares. Yeah, blanks like blanks.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Was that an American show? I believe so might have been.
- 20:11Speaker 1: It was because they'd make a joking Will and Grace
- 20:13Speaker 1: once you're mocking blankety blanks. Yeah, yeah, Greg Kennedy, what
- 20:16Speaker 1: a lord? That guy's a lot. Anyway, let's get into
- 20:19Speaker 1: the roof, shall we.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Stop loading it up? And yeah, talking about the well
- 20:23Speaker 4: we're talking about this in the first place.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yes, that's right. So the chopboall gag is Rudolf. Rudolph's
- 20:28Speaker 1: red nose is not alcohol related, and the couch gag
- 20:31Speaker 1: is the Simpsons shake up a snow globe which contains
- 20:34Speaker 1: the Simpsons sitting on the couch. And then first and
- 20:37Speaker 1: second I'm not sure what that's referring to. First, maybe
- 20:39Speaker 1: it's the first time and the second time the Simpsons
- 20:42Speaker 1: run to the living room only to notice that everything
- 20:43Speaker 1: has been stolen, which includes their couch. Maybe the second
- 20:46Speaker 1: time they aired it. This one, he had the snow globe, right,
- 20:50Speaker 1: I believe so? Yeah, which is I guess it makes
- 20:53Speaker 1: sense if you've seen the episode's got no catch anymore? Yeah, yeah, Anyway,
- 20:57Speaker 1: if you're a fan of everything we do here at
- 20:59Speaker 1: four Finger disc yeah, but you're tired of hearing these
- 21:01Speaker 1: pesky ads, then you'll absolutely love being a member of

- 21:25Speaker 1: So the episode kicks off with the fam mustay the
- 21:30Speaker 1: family of the family, just the parents driving to the supermarket. Oh,
- 21:33Speaker 1: like I said, the apartment store. I should say, is
- 21:35Speaker 1: it the Try and say what was it? Try and say,
- 21:37Speaker 1: Try and say what's Try and say You have little
- 21:38Speaker 1: reference to March being not proud. The heater in the
- 21:40Speaker 1: car is not working. He always leaves the Christmas shopping
- 21:44Speaker 1: to Christmas Eve because he craves the hustle and bustle
- 21:46Speaker 1: we all do until we don't until we get there.
- 21:48Speaker 4: How many times have we said recently in the lead
- 21:50Speaker 4: up to Christmas, like, I mean, I'd sent you that
- 21:53Speaker 4: yeah video the other day, that sort of synthwave soundtrake
- 21:56Speaker 4: of just more footage from the early nineteen nineteen and
- 22:01Speaker 4: we're like, oh, people interacting with down, isn't it gordous?
- 22:04Speaker 4: Not long after I did that, I went to the supermarkets, like,
- 22:06Speaker 4: this car park's too fucking full, all.
- 22:08Speaker 1: These people, everything's crammed in there. That car of the coals, Yeah,
- 22:12Speaker 1: worst car park design in the history of car parks.
- 22:15Speaker 1: We've always said, kind of been getting two cars, can't
- 22:17Speaker 1: get in and out at the same time.
- 22:18Speaker 4: That true, Yeah, look pros pros of that coals, pale
- 22:22Speaker 4: guy of coal, the car, everything else prices to mention,
- 22:30Speaker 4: these coal still has ship on the shelves. Were we
- 22:35Speaker 4: just being grouches and talking? Were we recently talking about
- 22:38Speaker 4: it going to walls and Soviet Russia or something?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah? Terrible? Yeah, not good, but they have it parks
- 22:44Speaker 1: across the three handicaped spaces, and he says Sandy's got
- 22:46Speaker 1: a little trick of his sleeve. And as he takes
- 22:49Speaker 1: the control of Registered nine, everyone comes through because it's
- 22:51Speaker 1: all busy, and he just takes everyone stuff. But at
- 22:54Speaker 1: least he puts money in the cash. He doesn't steal it,
- 22:56Speaker 1: he pays for it. He screws over the customers, but
- 22:59Speaker 1: at least he paid for the stuff. Well, imagine if
- 23:01Speaker 1: Arland was there and he had he actually got his
- 23:03Speaker 1: turboe man, furious, furious. I saw a clip on social
- 23:07Speaker 1: media this week. I need to re watch Kindergarten Cop
- 23:08Speaker 1: because I forgot about the scene where Arnold beats up
- 23:11Speaker 1: the abusive father. That's right, what a lord. And the
- 23:14Speaker 1: best part was the principals was like to hit the
- 23:17Speaker 1: son of a bitch and you're like, nice work, Detective
- 23:21Speaker 1: John Kimball or whatever his name is. Yeah, good movie boys,
- 23:24Speaker 1: Penis girls have vaginas, that's anything that's that kid got canceled.
- 23:28Speaker 6: He really.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That's not inclusive, but it's now been disneyflis the warning
- 23:35Speaker 1: at the.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Start warning Arnold smokes cigar and some kid, I don't
- 23:43Speaker 4: know what to say about it has thoughts about gender expresses,
- 23:47Speaker 4: gender opinions.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yes, so the kids are now watching a fireplace on
- 23:52Speaker 1: the TV in front of the actual fireplace. It's just
- 23:54Speaker 1: I thought they captured this Christmas eve vibe here. It's
- 23:56Speaker 1: like Mum's making some cookies, so she's made Christmas tree
- 24:00Speaker 1: for the girls, bloody spear heads for Bard. The kids
- 24:01Speaker 1: are excited it's Christmas time. Why the presents are already
- 24:05Speaker 1: out is beyond me. I know my cousins used to
- 24:07Speaker 1: do this. They have They put the presents out three
- 24:09Speaker 1: weeks before Christmas and they're sitting there and I'm like,
- 24:12Speaker 1: Santa's supposed to bring them, okay, building anticipation. Apparently they
- 24:17Speaker 1: go these times from Rom and Dad and then a
- 24:20Speaker 1: few extras from Santa would arrive on Christmas. You've got
- 24:24Speaker 1: to be You've got to be on your game when
- 24:26Speaker 1: it comes to that kind of thing. I think as
- 24:28Speaker 1: a kid, I preferred the idea of there's nothing there
- 24:30Speaker 1: when you wake up, it's.
- 24:30Speaker 7: Like whow where this is all going wrong?
- 24:32Speaker 2: I know.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I was like the idea of like it's a preview
- 24:35Speaker 1: of coming attraction, Like holy shitt, look at all this stuff.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I'm the talking shit. You do do do do do do.
- 24:42Speaker 1: But there's a nice animation here just holding up the
- 24:45Speaker 1: cookie of the tree brings it down. And this here,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I never realized this watching it. Time's past mentioned how
- 24:53Speaker 1: the previous tree was aluminium, aluminum for the people in
- 24:56Speaker 1: the States, but now they've got a plastic one. To explain,
- 24:58Speaker 1: white just melts. It's a set fire to the house.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Why didn't set fire to the car? But because Nicholas like, why,
- 25:03Speaker 1: I've been in the house, and I was like, you
- 25:05Speaker 1: get a point, just sort of melted like the Wicked Witch.
- 25:10Speaker 1: But yes, it's now plastic. And they hear the sounds outside.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Could it be? I thought, such innocent childlike, what would
- 25:17Speaker 1: you call wholesomeness? But no, it's Homer putting lights upon
- 25:19Speaker 1: the house. The one thing I will say about this,
- 25:21Speaker 1: you know shows in the lights, it's craptacular. Well, one
- 25:24Speaker 1: takeaway was what I mean, So how mus putting lights
- 25:27Speaker 1: up on Christmas even at night? What's the point?
- 25:29Speaker 4: Yeah, And as soon as we've done recording today, once
- 25:33Speaker 4: I've taken care of other business, I'll be getting out
- 25:36Speaker 4: with my little step ladder and my hammer and my
- 25:38Speaker 4: thing of nails and putting up a little thing.
- 25:41Speaker 1: It's a little string of lights, sour solar powered Christmas lights.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Oh a nice one, I really do. I rarely do that,
- 25:49Speaker 1: but I don't know. I'm feeling.
- 25:51Speaker 4: I feel like it's my off on you. It is,
- 25:54Speaker 4: so stop rubbing off because you're just like, bah, that's
- 25:58Speaker 4: an hr issue. You're rubbing off of me. No, but
- 26:01Speaker 4: it's true you are.
- 26:02Speaker 1: You're very Christmasy, and yeah, I get the feeling. I've
- 26:05Speaker 1: got no Christmas lights, so I keep saying I'm going
- 26:07Speaker 1: to but okay, do you toashing them to bricks? And
- 26:09Speaker 1: then it's like taking them down again? And I wouldn'tight
- 26:11Speaker 1: happen to just g I'm rubbing off on you inflatorable
- 26:13Speaker 1: stuff at the front where you can sort of have
- 26:15Speaker 1: stuff into the ground, but playing it to the house
- 26:16Speaker 1: it's like, oh, this requires it. I know the kids
- 26:18Speaker 1: would love it. So I feel like I'm going to
- 26:20Speaker 1: do it. I feel like we're going the way to Melbourn.
- 26:21Speaker 1: We're going to way to melb We're going to Melbourne
- 26:22Speaker 1: this weekend to watch actually Home Alone with the orchestra,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and the kids are coming with us because Alie came
- 26:28Speaker 1: with me to see my Christmas car a couple of
- 26:29Speaker 1: years ago, and the kids both love homolone. It's the
- 26:32Speaker 1: home alone one. I always prefer ham Alone two, but
- 26:34Speaker 1: we go to hamelone one with the orchestra. Should be
- 26:35Speaker 1: great hereing that score. And it's the first time the
- 26:38Speaker 1: kids have ever stayed at a hotel, so they're really
- 26:39Speaker 1: excited to stay at a hotel. How get on some
- 26:41Speaker 1: room service. Yes, we're going to Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 2: August pocus mucus pugas. My powers of deduction tell me
- 26:50Speaker 2: you're getting a handmade sweater, possibly yellow. Mom, Magan stuff.
- 26:58Speaker 7: Bart put down that yellow sweater. Nobody's going near their
- 27:01Speaker 7: presence until seven o'clock tomorrow morning, seven am, no earlier.
- 27:09Speaker 7: And you can't set your alarm clocks because I got
- 27:11Speaker 7: them for once. We're going to celebrate Christmas as a family.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Hello, anybody, bar is now drinking twelve glasses of water
- 27:25Speaker 1: because he wants to stay. Wants them to wake him
- 27:27Speaker 1: up to go to the toilet so he can get
- 27:28Speaker 1: up early. Lisa mentions the Indians. Yeah, native American. That's
- 27:32Speaker 1: went now Referrington. But back in first people's yes seven,
- 27:36Speaker 1: they were still referred to as Indians, including the baseball team,
- 27:39Speaker 1: which are now no longer there. The other Redskins weren't
- 27:41Speaker 1: they I believe? So, yes, what are they now?
- 27:44Speaker 2: What are the.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Redskins changed to? Were the Chiefs? The Washington name? Washington
- 27:49Speaker 1: Reskins became the Washington Commanders. Okay, Washington Redskins. Our football
- 27:52Speaker 1: team changes into the Washington Commanders. What about the Cleveland Yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 1: Cleveland Redskins with cheap Whoo literally his name chief a
- 28:02Speaker 1: Chief Wahoo. What's his name? I believe? So the Cleveland
- 28:05Speaker 1: team is now the Cleveland Guardians. Good times there with
- 28:08Speaker 1: the going through the Galaxy films takes some money out
- 28:10Speaker 1: of that, so then we get a really cool dream sinking.
- 28:13Speaker 1: So don't we hear we do? Yeah? Just the various.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I think it's another one of those moments where I
- 28:17Speaker 1: didn't quite get it as a little kid, and as
- 28:20Speaker 1: a g I was like, oh's you got the hose
- 28:21Speaker 1: that the outpham with the trunk, the fireman with the
- 28:24Speaker 1: hose and go go go PPP wakes up and I
- 28:28Speaker 1: love this. How good is it when you know you
- 28:31Speaker 1: have to get up for something and he set the
- 28:33Speaker 1: alarm and he's still have that element of oh god,
- 28:35Speaker 1: I hope I still wake up. And you wake up
- 28:38Speaker 1: and it's like, oh, I've done it. I've gone up
- 28:43Speaker 1: in time. All This morning actually worked for me. It
- 28:45Speaker 1: was relatable because my alarm was set for seven thirty
- 28:49Speaker 1: to get out of bed because the kids like having breakfast.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I got baken from went back to bed, and I
- 28:52Speaker 1: was like all right, and seven thirty alarm went off
- 28:54Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, just no ten minutes and
- 28:56Speaker 1: then I wake up and it was like quarter to eight.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I can't work up. I was like, oh fuck, go
- 29:00Speaker 1: fall asleep and learn court date. And I was like, okay,
- 29:03Speaker 1: it's okay, it's okay. Yeah, but wait, I do like
- 29:07Speaker 1: waking up if I've had a good night's sleep, waking
- 29:09Speaker 1: up early, hearing like the magpies outside seeing the sun.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It's awesome. Oh yeah, I'm trying to do it more
- 29:15Speaker 1: and more.
- 29:15Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sending my alarm for six fifteen these days,
- 29:18Speaker 4: and I was up at about six fifteen this so it's.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Great, especially when it's coming to summer. It's warm already. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 1: the world's nice and quiet. That many cars out in there.
- 29:27Speaker 1: It gets like eight thirty nine am. And that Church
- 29:29Speaker 1: Street near where you live is heck, dick, sure is yeah?
- 29:32Speaker 1: Not good at all? Yes, So Marge so yeah, So
- 29:35Speaker 1: he goes downstairs, but goes downstairs and he opens up
- 29:38Speaker 1: the letter from Aunt Salomon, got some cash there. Then
- 29:41Speaker 1: he finds the letter from Santa and that's exactly what
- 29:42Speaker 1: he's looking for. The lead of the present sorry, and
- 29:44Speaker 1: it's the inferno Buster three thousand. I love toy toy
- 29:48Speaker 1: names buster and he I knew Sander wouldn't have time
- 29:52Speaker 1: to check that list twice as a good line, and
- 29:54Speaker 1: he plays with the toy, accidentally starts the fire by
- 29:56Speaker 1: squirting the water onto the powerpoints, cause it to all
- 29:58Speaker 1: mauled down very over loud loaded the PowerPoint one. Yes
- 30:01Speaker 1: it was indeed, yeah, classic Simpsons and melts down the tree.
- 30:04Speaker 1: March think she heard a noise, but the snores she
- 30:08Speaker 1: quiet this noise listen, n at off and Bart buries
- 30:11Speaker 1: it outside. This reminded me. Have you had a moment
- 30:13Speaker 1: where you've you're trying to hide something before anyone else
- 30:16Speaker 1: finds it? So for me, though, this reminds literally honestly
- 30:18Speaker 1: reminded me of when I was a closer to wet
- 30:20Speaker 1: the bed till I was like twelve, right, I remember
- 30:22Speaker 1: staying at my NaN's place. I slept on the couch
- 30:26Speaker 1: and I wet the beaver on her couch. I spent
- 30:28Speaker 1: like all mourning trying to like clean it and scrub it.
- 30:31Speaker 1: And she's like, what are you doing? Like I was
- 30:33Speaker 1: like so sad. She's like, you could have just told me,
- 30:35Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, no, it doesn't.
- 30:38Speaker 4: I'm sure I have more incidents like that in my past,
- 30:41Speaker 4: and I can recall right now. But the body is
- 30:43Speaker 4: the one that springs to minds.
- 30:48Speaker 7: What where's Christmas? Yes, sir, where's Christmas?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Bike? What were you doing outside? I don't know how
- 31:02Speaker 2: to tell you this, but I came down a little early,
- 31:05Speaker 2: and well I saw a burglar and he was he
- 31:18Speaker 2: including the drink?
- 31:27Speaker 7: How could somebody?
- 31:28Speaker 3: I know, we skip church.
- 31:37Speaker 1: I've always loved Homers. Where's Christmas? Who designed his house?
- 31:42Speaker 1: Where's Christmas? With the hose? Who designed this house? But yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 1: so just the clearly Bart was going to tell them
- 31:48Speaker 1: sesel looks on their faces can't break their hearts. And
- 31:51Speaker 1: so he says that he saw the burglar. So then
- 31:53Speaker 1: we have the police taking all the details and the
- 31:55Speaker 1: glass eye, wooden legs, scar on his cheek, anything unusual
- 31:59Speaker 1: looks for hands? Yeah, the convict shired on a sack
- 32:02Speaker 1: of the Dollar's ligne classic burglar and Lou knows are
- 32:04Speaker 1: never going to catch his guy is the joke kid
- 32:06Speaker 1: that Lou knows he's lying because he goes, we'll catch
- 32:09Speaker 1: him and he goes cheef. So is it that he's
- 32:11Speaker 1: saying clearly he's making it up, or is it that
- 32:14Speaker 1: he's so your typical burglar that would now have no
- 32:17Speaker 1: chance of catching them? It could go either way. Could Yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 1: the first one makes what makes more sense for the
- 32:23Speaker 1: episode that he doesn't know that he's lying, because why
- 32:27Speaker 1: else would they be donating money? Yeah, good point, but yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 1: that makes sense. But he says, all right, kids will
- 32:35Speaker 1: no easy way to say this. God hates us and
- 32:37Speaker 1: says I'm forgetting the true meaning here the birth of
- 32:39Speaker 1: Santa and it's not about material things. List suggest we
- 32:42Speaker 1: should go walk down to the old folks home. As
- 32:44Speaker 1: they walk past the Flanders house, and he's got a
- 32:46Speaker 1: unicycle and the kids of a pony. They pretend to
- 32:49Speaker 1: have new cross cross country skis right, which from the
- 32:52Speaker 1: first shot works because they're hut behind behind like a snowpile.
- 32:55Speaker 1: But when the Flanners are looking at through the window,
- 32:56Speaker 1: there's no snowpile in front of them. You just see
- 32:58Speaker 1: their feet, like, is that an anime error? Yeah, it's bizarre.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That feels like a did you see their feet and
- 33:06Speaker 1: it's like it feels like a glitch. Yeah, it's odd.
- 33:08Speaker 1: The Hibbits now have snowmobiles. Not as fun as it looks.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Nothing could be as fun as that looks. This was
- 33:13Speaker 1: also awesome. So Mealhouse has the tickle to be crusty.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Don't put your finger in the whatever, you can get
- 33:17Speaker 1: your finger out of there. But the snowball hitting it,
- 33:19Speaker 1: and it's Homer's fun. The old folks, though, unfortunately for
- 33:24Speaker 1: the Simpsons, are all happy because the pharmaceutical man rocked
- 33:27Speaker 1: up and he shot him full of Christmas cheer. That's right.
- 33:29Speaker 1: He can't feel anything below his neck or something. Yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 1: Now apparently they're all dancing here the same way as
- 33:33Speaker 1: we just did. Treut four nineteen say as Peanuts, Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: the Peanuts Christmas Special. Yeah. Great, Homer is now at Moe's.
- 33:40Speaker 1: He's all drunk and sad on Christmas Day.
- 33:43Speaker 7: This seems Yeah, sounds like you're having a rough Christmas
- 33:48Speaker 7: hammer you know what. I blame that trying to breakdown
- 33:51Speaker 7: of society.
- 33:52Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right, Mo, You're o Mo, harm Lock. Your
- 33:58Speaker 5: house is on too bad? Hey, you take that back, Barney,
- 34:03Speaker 5: nice ride, stay honest, old man.
- 34:06Speaker 6: Dateline, Kent Brockman. I'm here at the scene of the
- 34:09Speaker 6: Christmas burglary where the creature was stirring last night, and
- 34:12Speaker 6: what he was stirring was up trouble. Is your husband
- 34:17Speaker 6: or lover here, ma'am?
- 34:18Speaker 2: No, my husband is at church.
- 34:22Speaker 5: That's my girl. I love you, Marcherie.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Yes, he's quite a gap.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Eh, shut up.
- 34:28Speaker 6: So when you realized Christmas was ruined? How did you feel?
- 34:33Speaker 7: How do you think?
- 34:33Speaker 6: I felt absolutely devastated, absolutely devastated, the words of a
- 34:40Speaker 6: heartbroken mother. For there will be no fire truck for
- 34:43Speaker 6: a little bart, no sweater for little Lisa, no Cajun
- 34:48Speaker 6: sausage for a little Homer. oOoOO. So, while you're home
- 34:52Speaker 6: today eating your sweet, sweet holiday turkey, I hope you'll
- 34:57Speaker 6: all choke just a little little bit.
- 35:01Speaker 1: What you thought on Brocken asking, hoping everyone chokes just
- 35:03Speaker 1: a little bit. You need a little litorializing something. The dramatics. Yes,
- 35:09Speaker 1: Bhoma gets home and looks down in these dormat is like, yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 1: season greenings, whatever walks and everyone's donated all their money
- 35:14Speaker 1: because of the new story they've seen, including Moe and
- 35:17Speaker 1: Barney probably beat him a home. This is another are
- 35:21Speaker 1: they feet or are they Skis Burns is asked for
- 35:26Speaker 1: change for a button. I know this was a take
- 35:28Speaker 1: off of from the film with the Piano right now,
- 35:30Speaker 1: young at List, but I thought the young at least
- 35:32Speaker 1: in the moment. I've never really liked it. I get it,
- 35:34Speaker 1: but it just makes how it come across like a
- 35:35Speaker 1: real prick.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, particularly at this moment when you know everything's
- 35:38Speaker 4: going their way.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Yeah, just yeah, I don't know, it just seems odd.
- 35:42Speaker 1: But if Flannders gives the top of his tree patches
- 35:44Speaker 1: and poor Violet give that the dollar has been saving up,
- 35:47Speaker 1: gives a tip jar from the bar, they're fifteen k
- 35:49Speaker 1: This is where you're talking about Rusty fifteen thousand mazillions,
- 35:53Speaker 1: Holy shmoli whatever? What do you do? Like blinking? And
- 35:56Speaker 1: then this is probably my favorite moment the whole scene though,
- 35:59Speaker 1: where they asked what you're going to do with it?
- 36:00Speaker 1: And then missus k is like, just go wild with it,
- 36:02Speaker 1: and I'm like, I love missus k. Oh yeah, just
- 36:04Speaker 1: giving that license that does go for it. Just just
- 36:06Speaker 1: don't enjoy yourself. You don't you agree? Similar yes, something
- 36:09Speaker 1: wild and little poor violence says I'd kiss you, but Simpson,
- 36:14Speaker 1: but the doctor says, I'm sick, and I'm like, oh man.
- 36:16Speaker 1: They've got a cliffs car is Chalet, Chalet Chalet, and
- 36:21Speaker 1: the car is now fifteen k instead of twelve K.
- 36:24Speaker 1: And he throws in the undercoading for two hundred but
- 36:28Speaker 1: just maybe should give this money to charitably, starting to
- 36:30Speaker 1: feel guilty, and the guy jabs him with the pen.
- 36:32Speaker 1: They're singing in their new car, singing the song, actually
- 36:34Speaker 1: having a great time, and then he overtakes the plower,
- 36:36Speaker 1: king like when they've pated a little. In universe things
- 36:40Speaker 1: that consuity, it's CEEU Simpsons cinematic universe. Yeah, it will
- 36:44Speaker 1: be cinematic universe. Would it be s tu stew would say,
- 36:48Speaker 1: television universe? What would you call? Because the television cinematic
- 36:53Speaker 1: sounds so much cool and television does. It's a cinematic
- 36:56Speaker 1: equivalent for TV television just television talamannic cinematic Simpsons Extended Universe,
- 37:03Speaker 1: Extend Universe, su CEU it Simpsons Extended Springfield, Springfield, Springfield,
- 37:11Speaker 1: Ye same letters, do same acronym. Yeah, let's go for it,
- 37:14Speaker 1: all right, we could just coined a phrase. But he
- 37:18Speaker 1: overtakes and loses control of the car. Everyone's given their
- 37:20Speaker 1: own opinion. I hate people trying to tell me how
- 37:22Speaker 1: to drive when I'm driving. Is there anything more infuriaty?
- 37:24Speaker 1: There's many things more furiator But if you're driving, someone's like,
- 37:27Speaker 1: you know, we can go this way, or you slow
- 37:29Speaker 1: down or whatever, it's like getting told to slow down
- 37:31Speaker 1: is like shut up.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Lovely the ways, God bless her. She's very circumspect when
- 37:37Speaker 4: it comes to not well, of course, no one should
- 37:39Speaker 4: run red lights. But she gets very cautious when it
- 37:41Speaker 4: comes to like, oh I'm not running that yellow light.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I won't running yellow. I judge my hand if it's
- 37:47Speaker 1: if it's red, after I'm in the intersection, I'm fine.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh that's there. That's if you're
- 37:54Speaker 1: in the intersection before it goes read, you're fine. Absolutely yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 4: But she did it once, she sort of we were
- 37:59Speaker 4: closely in the sections, gone hard and hard, she went,
- 38:02Speaker 4: she went through, and then she looked, you're proud about
- 38:04Speaker 4: I said you better.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I actually was never even more turned on Benby because
- 38:10Speaker 1: I used to be I used to be sort of
- 38:13Speaker 1: it was yellow. I'd slow down, think of the kid
- 38:14Speaker 1: in the back, and Nicholas like, you do't have to
- 38:15Speaker 1: slow down. I'm like fine, And now Nicholas rubbed off
- 38:18Speaker 1: of me. That's saying that they rubbed off on rubbing off.
- 38:21Speaker 1: But over the first time I did it was the
- 38:22Speaker 1: same thing. She was like, I can't belief you did that.
- 38:24Speaker 1: And I'm like, yeah, that's right. You feel like a
- 38:28Speaker 1: big man. But they wake up and they see Bartsch
- 38:32Speaker 1: just sitting down in the in the crime scene acting
- 38:35Speaker 1: here from Nancy, where it's the emotional of I don't
- 38:39Speaker 1: want to have to say this, but I know I'm
- 38:40Speaker 1: going to have to. It's just the animation is great.
- 38:42Speaker 1: He's just he's broken inside. He comes clean, Lisa chokes him, No, listen,
- 38:46Speaker 1: your hands are too weak. Then Brockman is outside sees
- 38:49Speaker 1: the family were choking each other, and they realized, all right,
- 38:51Speaker 1: we're gonna have to go along with this because we've
- 38:53Speaker 1: essentially stolen money from people.
- 38:55Speaker 6: Ken Brockman here for a follow up with Springfield's favorite
- 38:59Speaker 6: hard luck family, The Simpsons evokes any Words for the
- 39:02Speaker 6: Christmas thief if he's watching.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Yes, Kent, hello jerk. We may never find you, and
- 39:10Speaker 5: we should probably all stop looking, but one thing's for sure.
- 39:15Speaker 5: You do exist.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Strong words, strong bewildering words.
- 39:21Speaker 7: Also, we want to thank the whole town for their generosity.
- 39:26Speaker 6: He look, it's little parts fire truck, little Lace's sweater,
- 39:35Speaker 6: little Homer sausage. One of the name of Holy Hell
- 39:37Speaker 6: is going on here.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Oh it's true. We weren't robbed. That part we made up,
- 39:43Speaker 5: but the rest is true.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Wait, he's just covering for me. I destroyed the presence,
- 39:49Speaker 2: then I buried the evidence when I acted alone.
- 39:52Speaker 6: So the family never knew about any of this.
- 39:55Speaker 5: Well, the boy told us, but that was after we
- 39:58Speaker 5: filed the phony police report.
- 40:00Speaker 2: And after we spent all the times people's money.
- 40:02Speaker 7: So you can see why my husband had to wai
- 40:04Speaker 7: to you a moment ago. So this was all a scam.
- 40:08Speaker 3: And on Christmas, yeah, Jesus must be spreading at his grave.
- 40:14Speaker 1: We gave them more vitamin money.
- 40:18Speaker 6: Hey, hey, shure your lousy free laders come back when
- 40:21Speaker 6: it gets on parents.
- 40:22Speaker 1: It's the old Jewish guy working in the Springfield TV store.
- 40:25Speaker 1: But it's not the ol Jewish guy voice it's just
- 40:27Speaker 1: Dan castling at his voice. I could take any of
- 40:30Speaker 1: them away from the Golden Year. It would be that
- 40:32Speaker 1: excised that the episode would not suffer that seemed being
- 40:35Speaker 1: out stringing from the record. Now, I've seen some pretty
- 40:38Speaker 1: shabby things in my career. This futured fraud out stinks
- 40:42Speaker 1: them all and thanks them for the story. Now the anger,
- 40:46Speaker 1: We get the newspaper and angry mub mobles options and
- 40:49Speaker 1: they're throwing vegetables at the house, running out of tomatoes, pumpkins,
- 40:53Speaker 1: and then Homers says, maybe it all blow over. Then
- 40:55Speaker 1: the Pineapple comes through with the string of patches, Pegga
- 40:57Speaker 1: three back through again. If you're a fan of everything

- 41:28Speaker 1: is all still Christmas Day apparently, because is it? Because
- 41:32Speaker 1: everyone's in Krusty Burger, right, And then as they're walking out,
- 41:36Speaker 1: fans goes, well, there's Christmas dinner ruined. I'm like, first
- 41:38Speaker 1: of all, why is everyone in Krusty Burger for Christmas dinner?
- 41:41Speaker 1: Second all, I'm sure there's been more than a day,
- 41:43Speaker 1: because I think so. It has to have been because home,
- 41:46Speaker 1: we got home at night a more skewy. It was bizarre.
- 41:50Speaker 1: But everyone's around me in crusty. But they all leave
- 41:52Speaker 1: and we can get used to being shunned. Then the
- 41:54Speaker 1: workers are spitting in the burgers. That's one thing I've
- 41:56Speaker 1: always just feared is just kids making my burger man.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, there's nothing preventing them.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I mean, I'm I'm always nice to service staff, yeah way,
- 42:06Speaker 4: but we're not talking to the people making the burgers though.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Oh but even when like the driver or something like,
- 42:10Speaker 4: you're always like oh yeah, I mean you never like yeah,
- 42:12Speaker 4: how a with.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That shit threw of a button on the register. It's
- 42:15Speaker 1: just like spit burger would spit make it a special Yeah,
- 42:21Speaker 1: make it a double devil. Yeah. But March where they're
- 42:25Speaker 1: going through all the letters though. First of all, so
- 42:28Speaker 1: Lisa Missiuva refuses to teach Lisa and rough cause her
- 42:31Speaker 1: a line makes a turn a desk around, nobody believes
- 42:33Speaker 1: Homer at the power plant when there's a meltdown happening.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Marge's now reading through all the various letters from was
- 42:37Speaker 1: it you're blinking and blinking whatever? Limo great, Now we
- 42:42Speaker 1: got to send him a note. Then Marge comes up
- 42:44Speaker 1: with the idea, because is going to get all their
- 42:45Speaker 1: money back. She's going to go on Jeopardy. I've always
- 42:48Speaker 1: loved the deliverable delivery of she ain't getting a hold
- 42:50Speaker 1: bullsh It's gonna be one of my triber quessions. How
- 42:54Speaker 1: much were they down? Or fifty four hundred? I think
- 42:57Speaker 1: it's fifty two hundred, two hundred, Ok, fifty something hundred.
- 43:00Speaker 1: They get home, though, and they see the angry mob
- 43:02Speaker 1: are there again, but they're forgiving them. Oh they've forgiven us.
- 43:04Speaker 1: And March's about to go into the whole. How great
- 43:06Speaker 1: are people at Christmas time? We get into the Oh
- 43:08Speaker 1: wait a minute, they take the last stuff, so Krusty's
- 43:10Speaker 1: gone to the medicine cabinet. I've already been there. Otto
- 43:13Speaker 1: turns around, Wiggams got one of the stuff toys. He's
- 43:16Speaker 1: got is Binky, Yes, some life and hell the Matt
- 43:20Speaker 1: Greendon cartoon. Pooh's taking some of the pets. I think
- 43:22Speaker 1: Skinner maybe taking some of the pets as well. The
- 43:24Speaker 1: fish take. Flanders is taking back his own barbecue, which
- 43:26Speaker 1: is a nice little continuity there. Everyone sits down in
- 43:29Speaker 1: the middle. They're all sad. March, you know, having nothing
- 43:31Speaker 1: reminds us of how lucky we are. We would have
- 43:33Speaker 1: had stuff. We've had each other anyway, and some cool
- 43:35Speaker 1: our stuff obviously. Well they're taking everything except for this washcloth,
- 43:39Speaker 1: and I thought, just March, that's my wahcloth and running
- 43:42Speaker 1: off with it. It was just a really nice ending,
- 43:43Speaker 1: As you said, the song Sanded on his Way was
- 43:45Speaker 1: just a perfect son to capture the moment.
- 43:48Speaker 4: It just well unexpected and you know, not your traditional
- 43:53Speaker 4: yeah sort of twinkle twinkle the Christmas song. We just
- 43:56Speaker 4: had a nice little bit of swing to it.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I think I feel like a Christmas episode has
- 44:01Speaker 1: to have the wholesome ending, right Oh yeah, and this
- 44:04Speaker 1: one does. Yeah. And it's going to have the wholesome
- 44:06Speaker 1: stuff in it. But yes, it does the wholesome message
- 44:08Speaker 1: as well. It does. What do we learn bomb? What'd
- 44:11Speaker 1: you learn from the episode with the Davis.
- 44:13Speaker 4: Always be nice to the kids A chusty berger. Yes,
- 44:15Speaker 4: you get some unexpected extras.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I learned never hide evidence in your front yard. Good
- 44:21Speaker 1: points neighbors. Yeah, alright, So we posted in the Patriot
- 44:30Speaker 1: asking for some mail bay questions for this episode. Rach Beasley,
- 44:33Speaker 1: did you ever wake up early and try to peek
- 44:35Speaker 1: at your presence as a kid? I sure did, I
- 44:37Speaker 1: absolutely did. I have one in particular, I've told this
- 44:40Speaker 1: story before, I'm sure of it, where I woke up
- 44:42Speaker 1: and there was a post I've mentioned how you used
- 44:44Speaker 1: to love the spict Girls when I was a kid.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Right it was the nineties, right, who could blame me?
- 44:48Speaker 1: And I remember there was this post. There was his
- 44:50Speaker 1: post a store in Kria Village near where I live,
- 44:53Speaker 1: and then just focused on Prince right, and there was
- 44:54Speaker 1: this Spice Girls one in the in the window. I
- 44:57Speaker 1: was like, oh, that looks I love that post. That's
- 44:59Speaker 1: cool because just just like all kinds of Gingers blis
- 45:01Speaker 1: on the front, right, I was like, I like that,
- 45:03Speaker 1: and then I thought I might be get it for Christmas.
- 45:05Speaker 1: And I went out there and I saw this frame.
- 45:08Speaker 1: It was like cover by a blanket. I was like shit.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I remember like going out and just like peeking under
- 45:13Speaker 1: the under the blanket and seeing purple. And for some
- 45:16Speaker 1: reason in my mind, I can't explain this, but I
- 45:19Speaker 1: thought I saw it was like a purply background with
- 45:21Speaker 1: the spics on it. I thought it was a poster
- 45:24Speaker 1: of the Phantom. And I remember going back to bed
- 45:25Speaker 1: lane bed for like half an hour before I got
- 45:27Speaker 1: going give me a fan. I'm gonna to pretend I'm happy, right,
- 45:31Speaker 1: I was like, whatever, I remember I left that to last,
- 45:33Speaker 1: and I remember I'm thinking she said to me in
- 45:34Speaker 1: the past, going I'm so surprised that you had left
- 45:36Speaker 1: that one to last, because it was the biggest thing there.
- 45:39Speaker 1: It was this big frame sitting against the thing. I
- 45:41Speaker 1: remember going, oh, yeah, here we go. Put on the
- 45:44Speaker 1: put on the happy face, pull the blanket off, and I'm.
- 45:46Speaker 7: Like, oh ship the spice Girl's posted.
- 45:49Speaker 1: It made it even better because I thought I wasn't
- 45:52Speaker 1: getting it, and I was like, oh no, it is
- 45:55Speaker 1: why I thought it was the Phantom. I still have
- 45:57Speaker 1: no idea to this day, but I remember thinking that, yeah,
- 46:00Speaker 1: anthem is very purple. Yeah, And to this day still
- 46:03Speaker 1: I've left for that going don't peat next time.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I think because I was the baby of the family
- 46:10Speaker 4: and there was a lot of years between me and
- 46:11Speaker 4: my sisters, I think it was pretty much I was
- 46:15Speaker 4: given the green light on Christmas Day. It is like
- 46:18Speaker 4: go wild, go I can. I don't think we ever
- 46:21Speaker 4: had the kind of thing. Certainly when I was growing
- 46:23Speaker 4: up that was like, okay, everybody, it's time to open
- 46:25Speaker 4: our presence and love. But we've done that, and we've
- 46:27Speaker 4: done that more recently. We do that every Christmas now.
- 46:30Speaker 4: But certainly when I was a kid, I would wake
- 46:31Speaker 4: up very early. I'd go down and I'd just get
- 46:33Speaker 4: my ship and just well, Sugun Warriors and all this
- 46:37Speaker 4: kind of business.
- 46:38Speaker 1: He does who Bobby's I've hired a two needs to
- 46:48Speaker 1: going down, FuG the Fellowship. There's the Lord of the
- 46:51Speaker 1: Rings episode fantastic.
- 46:52Speaker 4: We're not going to say the whole title too long,
- 46:54Speaker 4: So yeah, no, I will very much get up early
- 46:58Speaker 4: and just be a little speaking of a lot of
- 47:02Speaker 4: the rings, be a little Smaug. Smaug is the demon
- 47:05Speaker 4: from the.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Hobbit, where he I've never seen a hobbit.
- 47:08Speaker 4: He sort of lustily grabs all the gold for himself
- 47:12Speaker 4: and just like, oh, look at all this gool that
- 47:13Speaker 4: would be me.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Be like, you know gold, I'm just like my precious presents.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Next question, he comes from his first. I changed from
- 47:21Speaker 1: popular comments to all comments, and the first one was
- 47:23Speaker 1: from a man Andrew JP. Baby. Oh, thank goodness, the
- 47:28Speaker 1: mail bag was too big without you. And he knows
- 47:31Speaker 1: as well because I've already answered his question. He says,
- 47:32Speaker 1: who's your favorite game show host? I guess we'll talk
- 47:34Speaker 1: about game show but Larry and one for me can't
- 47:37Speaker 1: go past Burgess though, right, Baby John? Baby John Graham
- 47:40Speaker 1: Norton as a blanking to Blank's host Grant Kennedy is
- 47:45Speaker 1: Grant Kennedy. Yes, Graham Norton is the host of the
- 47:48Speaker 1: current terrible Wheel of Fortune. What a ship show that is.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I have not watched it, but I saw the ad
- 47:54Speaker 1: for it. I'm like, don't watch it. It is so bad.
- 47:56Speaker 1: It sounds terrible. Oh, it's horrific, shocking, We're fortunate enthusiastic.
- 48:04Speaker 1: I'm sort of showing my gen X roots here. But
- 48:06Speaker 1: when I was growing up.
- 48:07Speaker 4: Sale of the Century was very big on Channel, and
- 48:10Speaker 4: Tony Barber was this. I think it's fair to say
- 48:12Speaker 4: he's a little guy. I mean he's he was sort
- 48:14Speaker 4: of compact kind of dude. He's the full of energy though.
- 48:18Speaker 1: He was the nineteen eighties seventies equivalent of who's the
- 48:21Speaker 1: dude that does family feudal Daniel?
- 48:23Speaker 4: Yeah, grand Dander does a very good job. Look, I've
- 48:26Speaker 4: got plenty of time for grand Dan.
- 48:27Speaker 1: You Andrew o'keeith. Once upon a time, I said this.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Recently when I was writing about TV full time, The
- 48:33Speaker 4: two most charming people that I spoke to were Craig
- 48:37Speaker 4: McGlaughlin and Andrew O'Keefe.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Man, Andrew o'neith. He is not a good person. No, Now,
- 48:43Speaker 1: that guy's just that guy is troubled and troubling McLoughlin. Likewise,
- 48:49Speaker 1: it seems that they were. They were both the nicest dudes.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Where it starts, first one's free, next one cash it
- 49:00Speaker 1: that kind of thing.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Anyway, But I like Tony. I liked Tony Barbara a lot.
- 49:04Speaker 4: I thought he was great. Yeah, I've got a lot.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Of type of Grand Dan. Yeah, that's a really it's
- 49:09Speaker 1: a tougher job. Of course it is. And then it
- 49:12Speaker 1: appears because Graham Norton, good talk show host, terrible game
- 49:16Speaker 1: show host. It's two different things.
- 49:19Speaker 4: I don't know if this was a game show, but
- 49:21Speaker 4: look a shout out and rest in peace to our
- 49:25Speaker 4: us friends might know this guy more than Australian guys.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Chuck Roller, Chuck Woolery. He was the host of Love Connection,
- 49:32Speaker 4: that show I mainly know big. There was a lot
- 49:37Speaker 4: a rhyme in the Beastie Boys. Paul spic was I.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Did Women on TV with the help of Chuck Wallery.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I was like, who's Chuck Wallery?
- 49:46Speaker 4: And then the little research and patter. He was the
- 49:48Speaker 4: host of Love Connection passed away recently, Rip Chuck.
- 49:51Speaker 1: I Love even had American as obviously with the shows
- 49:53Speaker 1: where it was like the dating shows. Oh yeah it
- 49:56Speaker 1: was it called blind Data or whatever. Yeah, we had
- 49:58Speaker 1: Perfect Match. Yeah. But I saw a great clip it
- 50:00Speaker 1: was on I think my Twitter or whatever of this
- 50:02Speaker 1: cheat and it's like, so, what'd you like about as
- 50:04Speaker 1: you goes you had a big dick. I was like,
- 50:07Speaker 1: oh shit, man, all right, So next question here, Keith Nedham,
- 50:13Speaker 1: how would you punish your child for lying as badly
- 50:16Speaker 1: as Bart did, and having the whole town give you
- 50:18Speaker 1: money and you spent it not knowing the truth. I
- 50:20Speaker 1: feel like you'd be angry at the moment, but it's
- 50:23Speaker 1: just kind of like, well, we have to stand together here. Yeah,
- 50:26Speaker 1: it's a tough one.
- 50:26Speaker 4: You're torn between You're part of it, You're you're absolutely
- 50:29Speaker 4: you're part of the grand deception. At the end of
- 50:33Speaker 4: the day, it was an accident, it was okay. If
- 50:34Speaker 4: it wasn't that snow, I mean, I think you've got
- 50:37Speaker 4: to back up your kid. Absolutely, you've got to say, look,
- 50:39Speaker 4: I stand by him regardless. Having said that, if it's
- 50:44Speaker 4: not this scenario, if it's just the kid who's at fault,
- 50:48Speaker 4: if say, like I burnt down the town Christmas tree,
- 50:51Speaker 4: and well but then I said a Robert, Oh no,
- 50:53Speaker 4: it was actually met It's like, okay, for like a
- 50:56Speaker 4: certain amount of time, your mileage may bear out this.
- 50:59Speaker 4: It could be one that could be six months, it
- 51:01Speaker 4: could be a year. Your kid has to like do
- 51:04Speaker 4: volunteer work like once a week at various places around town.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Well so and So's hardware store was put a bit
- 51:14Speaker 4: of a jewish in.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Place straw at the hardware hardware soon sold.
- 51:19Speaker 4: The hardware store was disadvantaged by this. You're gonna have
- 51:22Speaker 4: to go work a couple of afternoons at their place
- 51:24Speaker 4: free of charge. They've got to give something back to
- 51:27Speaker 4: the community. And usually if they're a kid, it's not
- 51:30Speaker 4: going to be in terms of money. It's probably going
- 51:31Speaker 4: to be in terms of sweat sweat equity, as the
- 51:35Speaker 4: grind set call it, and then make them do it,
- 51:37Speaker 4: and then make them do it, and you know they'll
- 51:40Speaker 4: learn a little something.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Well. Indeed, David Mott says, you get to choose anywhere
- 51:43Speaker 1: in the world to spend your Christmas Day with your family.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Where are you going? Then there's going to the UK.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Oh it's so cold my family right now, I would
- 51:50Speaker 1: want to spend it at Universal Studios in Florida. Oh,
- 51:54Speaker 1: that was such a fucking awesome day, I reckinon. The
- 51:58Speaker 1: kids would have a blast. They would.
- 52:01Speaker 4: I'm recalling a very nice Christmas that as long as
- 52:04Speaker 4: it's Christmas with heat, because in the US is be cold,
- 52:07Speaker 4: that's correct. Yeah, I'm recalling a very nice Christmas that
- 52:11Speaker 4: I spent with my family when I was young. I
- 52:12Speaker 4: would have been about ten years old. Listens to the show.
- 52:15Speaker 4: I know that I spent nineteen seventy nine in England
- 52:18Speaker 4: with my family and we were on our way back
- 52:20Speaker 4: to Australia at the end of that year and we
- 52:22Speaker 4: spent Christmas.
- 52:23Speaker 1: In the Bahamas. That's cool.
- 52:25Speaker 4: It was really nice Christmas in the new and New
- 52:27Speaker 4: Year's Eve in the Bahamas. We had a Yeah, really nice.
- 52:32Speaker 4: The details of were a little fuzzy because it was
- 52:34Speaker 4: a long time ago now, but I remember the temperature
- 52:37Speaker 4: was nice, the people were lovely.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Will you know.
- 52:39Speaker 4: There were people from all over the world who were
- 52:41Speaker 4: all incredibly friendly. And yeah, it just struck me as
- 52:44Speaker 4: a really great time to a really great way to
- 52:46Speaker 4: spend Christmas.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Yeah, ten year old guy, how you wouldn't really drink
- 52:50Speaker 1: any alcohol any kind? Would you want? Bobby how we
- 52:53Speaker 1: when Bobby let went in alcohol wise about to say, yeah,
- 52:58Speaker 1: there is the first on Bobby City. Have a beer. No, Well,
- 53:01Speaker 1: Dad wasn't drinker at all.
- 53:02Speaker 4: I mean he would have like a couple of glasses
- 53:04Speaker 4: made on Christmas Day and that's pretty much it.
- 53:06Speaker 1: No, he was never really a drinker. My dad really drank,
- 53:11Speaker 1: but I remember being light ice, light ice, I know,
- 53:15Speaker 1: like low alcohol. Yeah, my my brother in law, Ross
- 53:20Speaker 1: did enjoy it. But yeah, yeah, I'm not. I'm not
- 53:23Speaker 1: saying there's like you like a beer. I mean, but.
- 53:26Speaker 4: If you know what I mean, please know that my
- 53:28Speaker 4: Cohurst is making the drinking drink emotion. I think that's
- 53:30Speaker 4: the second time in three podcasts and I've made that. Jay,
- 53:33Speaker 4: you have a bit and you run it to run
- 53:35Speaker 4: it into the ground. I make everybody hate me and
- 53:38Speaker 4: then I start over. But I think Ross, when I
- 53:41Speaker 4: was about fourteen, said you have some of this. I'm like,
- 53:44Speaker 4: that's not better. I hated the taste of beer. But
- 53:47Speaker 4: when I first going to parties, my well, everyone's drinking.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I guess I have to drink it. I was drinking.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Guess what beer I drank to? What do you think
- 53:53Speaker 1: was obvious beer of choice? That and Ossie he would
- 53:56Speaker 1: drink it was a VB ORVB.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Vv was very big when I was growing up as well.
- 54:01Speaker 1: We had the best jingles. We've always said.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Yeah see we both did it off the top of
- 54:06Speaker 4: the head. Mike Salter, Lou's not really drinking as much as.
- 54:13Speaker 1: You know what I mean, lose goalback. I will let
- 54:17Speaker 1: you guys listens know that guys doing the drinking drinking motion.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Oh no, joke's bag for on me.
- 54:24Speaker 4: No, no, never hear you drinking. But you know she's
- 54:26Speaker 4: not drinking much. But at the same time when we
- 54:29Speaker 4: go out, it's been like, why ain't you drinking? So actually,
- 54:32Speaker 4: you know, investing in a little loads alcohol free cocktails,
- 54:35Speaker 4: you get him in the cans and his likes like
- 54:37Speaker 4: it's alcohol free Mehito and alcohol free gene Tin.
- 54:40Speaker 1: But what are the actual names for the brand that
- 54:42Speaker 1: we're enjoying? Is called naked, but it's like it's it's
- 54:45Speaker 1: a mocktail. Mocktail, yeah, fake cocktail. Yeah, actually pretty nice.
- 54:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of you know, you get people saying
- 54:53Speaker 4: what you want the taste of alcohol and not the effects.
- 54:55Speaker 1: To me, I'm just like you must. It's like going
- 54:56Speaker 1: to macasine buying a salad, what's the if you had
- 54:59Speaker 1: a drink? Drink? I get what you mean, but I
- 55:02Speaker 1: see what you're saying, but it's like my mentality is, well,
- 55:04Speaker 1: we're gonna drink. Just fucking drink.
- 55:06Speaker 6: You know.
- 55:06Speaker 1: I used to do like, what's what's the healthiest version
- 55:09Speaker 1: of this? And it's like, dude, just fucking enjoy it,
- 55:12Speaker 1: Just enjoy yourself. But yeah, why why I don't drink
- 55:15Speaker 1: very often at all. Anyway, I'll buy some bean or
- 55:17Speaker 1: last me the entire year. Yeah, I just I drink
- 55:20Speaker 1: maybe a beer of a month if that, unless if
- 55:22Speaker 1: I'm with friends though, because I'm one of those people
- 55:24Speaker 1: where I don't just drink to sort of light the mood.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I drink to get drunk. Okay, yeah, not wasted drunk,
- 55:29Speaker 1: but I'm gonna have a good time. You get tipsy, yeah,
- 55:31Speaker 1: last time I was proper drunk. Grand Final twenty twenty two. Okay, yeah,
- 55:36Speaker 1: good day, Harrison McClure. Finally, sorry, Mic Salter. How is
- 55:40Speaker 1: it combined in the Christmas raditions of you and your partners?
- 55:42Speaker 1: Did you guys match up in terms of when you
- 55:43Speaker 1: think the kid should open? The presence presents under the
- 55:45Speaker 1: tree versus presence in the stockings, et cetera. We very
- 55:48Speaker 1: rarely put presents in stockings. No, I don't know how
- 55:50Speaker 1: to hang them.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we've got I suppose we've got to
- 55:53Speaker 4: have mental places and metal peace.
- 55:55Speaker 1: In Australia we don't have like fire people do a fireplaces,
- 55:59Speaker 1: but not as many it was with in the UK.
- 56:01Speaker 1: So we just get the stockings of chocolates, are shaped
- 56:03Speaker 1: like stockings. Just put those up correct. What about you
- 56:09Speaker 1: do you spend Christmas with Louise? Louise usually spends it
- 56:11Speaker 1: with my family. I mean she'll go to fam like, yeah,
- 56:16Speaker 1: bring into our place.
- 56:18Speaker 4: Usually how it works on Christmas morning is she'll have
- 56:21Speaker 4: it with the kids and her usually not of that one,
- 56:25Speaker 4: although that's family.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Tough for her and the kid's father and all that
- 56:30Speaker 1: kind of stuff. Okay, he still comes over for that,
- 56:31Speaker 1: does he?
- 56:32Speaker 4: They go to the they go to his place, which
- 56:35Speaker 4: was their original house, and then later in the afternoon, Well,
- 56:39Speaker 4: then I'll be at home sort of preparing what I'm
- 56:41Speaker 4: going to bring to the Davids family smallest board, and
- 56:45Speaker 4: then we'll go to my family in the afternoon. But
- 56:48Speaker 4: usually we'll do a thing with Loui's family, like her
- 56:51Speaker 4: mum and dad, the kids, extended family and all that.
- 56:55Speaker 4: This year we're doing it like a couple of days
- 56:57Speaker 4: before Christmas at Empire Grill in Geelong, we looked over
- 57:00Speaker 4: the menual. Oh raised pain. We're a lot of concerned
- 57:05Speaker 4: about that. But yeah, he always says.
- 57:06Speaker 1: I got this, Yes you do, sir. I'll order two steaks.
- 57:11Speaker 1: You say, steak or chicken? Have you never have you
- 57:19Speaker 1: never heard a Parker and Stone thing of Therefore, and
- 57:22Speaker 1: but Harris mcclelly finally question, here, are you guys any
- 57:28Speaker 1: good at Christmas shopping? Have you guys got any Christmas
- 57:30Speaker 1: shopping stories? I have finished all my Chrystal shopping, the
- 57:33Speaker 1: majority of it in like October.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Yeah, mine is not yet finished. Dennis presents on the
- 57:42Speaker 4: way I received, I've received email notification.
- 57:44Speaker 1: It's like your present is on the way. I'll give
- 57:46Speaker 1: you part of your present last night. You sure did
- 57:50Speaker 1: slits one ad. I feel today in these days, it's
- 57:57Speaker 1: easier to find specials if you shop online. Yeah, because
- 58:00Speaker 1: going to various stores it's like sometimes but sometimes granted,
- 58:04Speaker 1: you could go to a place like a came up
- 58:06Speaker 1: or whatever, and it's just the store managers like, we
- 58:08Speaker 1: got too much of this ship. Just clear it out.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Let me tell you a story. Yeah, I didn't. I
- 58:12Speaker 1: end up.
- 58:12Speaker 4: I don't know if I mentioned on any of our
- 58:14Speaker 4: other shows. I was thinking about buying this sort of
- 58:18Speaker 4: upmarket coffee machine. I was in Aldi and I've got
- 58:21Speaker 4: a course out of the Eye with all the specials
- 58:23Speaker 4: in it. They had these the longy coffee machines. It's like,
- 58:28Speaker 4: you know what, I enjoy coffee and enjoy my morning coffee. Yeah,
- 58:31Speaker 4: I'd like to be able to start making good coffee
- 58:34Speaker 4: as opposed to just the instant that I have, which
- 58:36Speaker 4: is fine. It's like I'm getting on in years. Enjoy
- 58:39Speaker 4: the better things in life. Guy, you treat yourself. But yeah,
- 58:44Speaker 4: being a cheap skate, I'm also looking onlines like can
- 58:47Speaker 4: I get a little cheaper than now? You and other
- 58:49Speaker 4: places had it at sort of comp do.
- 58:51Speaker 1: You find out whenever you're shopping you always pull your
- 58:52Speaker 1: phone out and just see if someone else? Oh yeah,
- 58:54Speaker 1: I do it every time.
- 58:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, very much like is cheese cheaper Woolies?
- 58:59Speaker 4: Or I met bullies? But is this cheese cheaper at coals?
- 59:02Speaker 1: Because I'm doing I'm going there. On the way back, anyway,
- 59:04Speaker 1: I'll go to JB but which I see a soundtrack
- 59:06Speaker 1: of viny that I like, I'll go Should I buy here?
- 59:08Speaker 1: Should I buy it from eBay? Or yeah? Very often
- 59:12Speaker 1: it's don't buy here, yeah, don't support local.
- 59:18Speaker 4: But anyway, Aldi sold out when I went back, like,
- 59:21Speaker 4: oh no, they're all gone. But luckily the good guy
- 59:23Speaker 4: still had it for a good price, went down and
- 59:26Speaker 4: got it there. Then I was killing a little time
- 59:29Speaker 4: and I went into Kmart where they had a whole
- 59:32Speaker 4: bunch of the longy coffee machines for even less different
- 59:36Speaker 4: model though, and I think maybe a slightly downgrade that.
- 59:38Speaker 4: I was just like, do I really want the good
- 59:42Speaker 4: coffee machine or I do want the okay coffee machine?
- 59:44Speaker 4: But I could still take this other one back and
- 59:45Speaker 4: then get this for a much cheaper And I was like, no, no,
- 59:49Speaker 4: you made a committment yourself to start enjoying the fire
- 59:52Speaker 4: things in life.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Don't skim now, I know what I did. What'd you do?
- 59:56Speaker 1: I talk about the coffee machines? So I bought the
- 59:59Speaker 1: coffee machine onlin line for mum. And then you told
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: me about the thirty dollars vouch a right, So I
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: went to the good guys and said, I want to
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: cancel this and then re buy it, but use my
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: thirty dollars vouch to go. Goes, I don't think you
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: can do that. I'm like, oh, I just want to
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: cancel this order. Then I'm just going to go over
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: there and buy that one. She goes, Yeah, I don't
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: think you can do that. I'm like, you actually can't
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: stop me from canceling this order. I don't want this
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: order anymore. And then she goes after after the call
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: someone I said, cool guy comes over and the guy goes,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: just take thirty dollars off it, and she's like, can
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: we do that? He's like, why do you fucking care
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: it's not coming out your chest. She's like, yeah, whatever,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: thirty bucks, thirty fucking dollars. It was like, yeah, thirty
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: dollars more in my pocket.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: Yeah, and the I don't think the fine people are
