- The Drama Drop: What's up guys? Welcome back to the drama drop. This week we have Birdgate, SNL monologues, and did Sierra Miller finally get justice on dancing with the stars this week? Let's find out. Go ahead and get cozy because the drama drops now. Okay, I feel like I am about to enter a dangerous territory. Feel like what I'm about to say, people could go one way or the other. about to be canceled before it can even be cancelable. But we have to talk about Shane Gillis's SNL monologue and all the uproar that has been a result of this. And here's the thing. Okay. We need to figure out a way to relax a little bit, not take everything so seriously. Not everything is an open invitation to be offended. Do you do you understand what I'm saying? Like the level that we have gotten to in terms of just how we take things has become insanity. And you know, we're really kind of just losing the plot here. anyways, everyone is losing their minds over the SNL monologue. I'm sure it's come across your desk. If it hasn't, I'll enlighten you. Basically, Shane Gillis, he's a comedian. He's a stand-up comedian. Okay. And you know, he's not known for his content to be sunshine and rainbows, and everything's all he he he he. You know, it's like crude humor. provocative, dark humor, whatever you want to call it. That's what most comedians are. And, you know, I'm looking at it as a lens because I'm a huge, like I'm really into comedy. I, me and my husband, we go to a lot of comedy shows. We are fans of a lot of comedians. And, you know, that's just kind of like the realm of in the nature of all of that atmosphere. But at the same time, you know, yeah, maybe it's a little bit jarring for people that don't really consume stand up comics and and their content. And then it's just, you know, on a show that's open for everybody. You know, you're not paying for a ticket to get in a to a show where you can't hold your phone up because, heaven forbid, of what they might say. But anyways, I'm kind of pivoting, but it's just kind of crazy. So like, you know, his content, it's not Like it's sweet content. Like that is who Shane Gillis is. And let's not forget, Shane Gillis was supposed to be an SNL cast member, but he got fired for something that he said. I can't even remember what it was, but it was basically something that's like, okay, I think he either he either said it or tweeted. I can't even fully remember that exact story. Long story short, he got fired to from being a full-time cast member because of something that he said before. He's been a host on SNL multiple times. So if we need to kind of maybe point fingers, maybe you guys need to project the anger and all your animosity towards the people over at SNL because they're still giving this man a platform. and that's just like who he is. Like most people, you know, they bring what they're known for to the show, yada, yada, yada. Was it crude what he said? Yes. Okay, sorry. I don't even think I addressed what he said. I just kind of I could go on and on about this. I've just kind of been just really consuming everything and everybody's opinions. And I'm like, my gosh, what are we doing? But basically, you know, he was making lots of jokes. Okay. He was calling himself fat. He was talking about going to the gym. Yada yada. basically made a statement about like what women are wearing in the gym. They're looking You know, they're looking like whores. Okay. We'll just that's the word he used, all right? And basically, like women are dressing almost naked, provocatively, going to the gym, like, whoa, like that's kind of crazy, right? he's not saying that they are those things. And let's be very clear, he's not talking about normal workout clothing. He's not talking about your standard leggings and a workout top. We all know who he's talking about. He's talking about the people. That wear almost like little to nothing, like the booty shorts, the barely a sports bra. Like we can't be blind to the fact that we know exactly who you saw. Like your mind immediately went to the outfit or maybe that girl that you see at the gym or somebody that posts online and in their gym fits. Like you're if you are telling me that your mind didn't go to a specific outfit or a specific individual who dresses like that. You're a liar. So you should also be mad at yourself if you're thinking that for sure. But, anyways, he just like made a a joke. And people got extremely up in arms, very offended by this, and basically saying, like, my gosh, he's such a misogynist, like, yada yada yada. But I mean, is it is it wrong? Like, is he incorrect? Now, let me be very clear. I could care less about what you wear to the gym. All right. And here's the thing. I've seen various types of outfits. Okay. Granted, I don't go to a public gym anymore, you know, where it's just anybody goes anywhere. Like I go to a studio owned, it's classes type of thing. But I've seen people wear extremely baggy outfits and I've seen people wear just athletic outfits and I've seen people almost wear nothing. And yeah, I'm like, whoa, like I wouldn't wear like wear nothing, you know? but to each their own, like that's not what I feel comfortable working out in. But at the same time, like you can't tell me that those people that are almost working out in nothing. One, they'd have to feel confident enough to do so. So more than likely they have the body to do so and amazing. Like that's great for them. Love that for them. Jealous. But also two, like you, they there's no way that they don't probably recognize that they're probably going to get some looks. Because if not, like, why can't you just wear a normal length of biker shorts or maybe like a tank top instead of just a sports bra? But like, again, I don't care, but like you can't, you can't have the mindset of like, no one should be looking at me. No one should have any opinion on me. No one should be judging me. No one should whatever. Like, if you are wearing that and you're cool with that, like that's perfect. But you probably know, like, yeah, I'm sure I'm gonna get some looks. I'm sure some people are gonna think this or that, yada, yada, yada. So you just like don't be offended. Is that like just too easy? I don't know. It's just really mind-boggling to me because in my mind, I'm just like, why do we? Always have to find something to nitpick about and just create an issue. Like, why can't we just relax a little bit? Like, have we ever considered maybe relaxing and not taking everything so seriously? And I mean, it's just like you can just you can laugh at something, you don't have to be offended. And there's an angle in which some people could just be like, like the joke just wasn't funny. Okay, sure. Like, that's totally fine. Like, you can think, you know, like there's some Come like jokes don't always land, which is like whatever. Like, I mean, I don't think that necessarily the joke itself was great. Sometimes it's more just the person and like their delivery. Like for me, I think Shane Gillis's the way he delivers his storytelling and all that, like makes it more funny, maybe than what actual subject is, if that even makes any sort of sense. Again, this is coming from me who I go to a lot of comedy shows and consume a lot of comedians and their content. But so I mean, you can look at it at two different lines. One that just the joke just like wasn't funny, didn't land, felt lazy. Okay, whatever. Cause I mean, that joke has kind of been done before, like that's been a statement before. versus just being completely outraged and offended and just feeling like, my gosh, like, I don't know. It's just kind of crazy. I'm like, why, why do we still like why can't we just take it for what it like just laugh, move on? Or don't laugh and move on. Like nothing has like we don't always have to create such a spectacle, create an issue, make a stance, create a statement. It's getting really exhausting and it's kind of making just entertainment just not fun anymore. There's no, it's just, I don't know, and we can't sit here and act like you don't judge people. And not even necessarily just in the same lens of Going to the gym and what people wear to the gym, just like in any aspect. Like you, if you can sit here and confidently tell me that you don't do any judging in any regard, that's crazy, but like amazing. Can you teach me? Because I can't sit here and say I don't judge people because I do like it's just an instinct. I don't know. It's not I'm actively, I need to clock in and judge and let me overanaly. It's just like, whoa, like just a quick thought. but Yeah, so you of course, you know, this goes out. I I didn't think anything of it. I don't know. Like, and this is not me being pick me. I don't I can't stand a pick me. I can't stand that someone just whatever. So this is not even that. This is just some like I just feel like I can handle a joke. Okay. I personally have really dark humor. I not saying that that's dark, but just like my sense of humor. I have dark humor. I can make fun of myself. you know, I just don't take things very seriously. there's something like if you're offended, you know, I feel like that says just like really a lot about you. Of course, there's always a line. There is always a line that's like, ooh, whoa, like that, ugh. But I don't know. I just the way everybody responds and just reacts to things that like. Is it really something that needs to be a whole thing, a whole big deal? It's it's crazy to me. Like I again, I heard it, moved on, like didn't think twice about it. And then all of a sudden it was everywhere on the internet, being a whole discussion. And I couldn't believe it. I was like, we're this is what we're talking about. This is what we're spending our time dissecting and Just overanalyzing. but like I said, I just feel like as soon as one thing, like one person maybe creates a narrative of something that's negative or whatever, it then all it becomes a societal emergency. Okay. Everybody gets on board, everybody has to post their opinion, they have to create a video, they have to always just make like this grand comparison of Well, this is the I don't even I don't even know. I'm like rambling because I'm not even making any sense anymore because it's just like it's just so baffling to me. and you know, one could argue that, you know, when you're going to go see a comedian, you know, you're paying for the ticket. You more than likely obviously know the comedian that you're gonna go see and know their style, know what you're getting into. However, you know. SNL, that's anybody can tune in. Like that's going to a grand audience. Not everybody has the same humor. Not everybody can laugh at themselves. Not everybody can take a joke. Some people get super offended by a lot of things. And very easily, might I add. So was it a bit of a risk to probably have him as a host? Sure. Yeah, probably. But what we can't, again, like I said earlier, you can't direct. All your anger towards Shane Gillis and yada yada yada, because listen, SNL reached out to him. Like, there's so many processes, I'm sure, that go into place whenever they pick these hosts. They go to the drawing board, they talk about the monologue. Like everything has to be an approval process. So writers, whoever else, they approve this monologue. And so can we point our anger at them? Like, why did we approve this? Like, how did this make it? you know, didn't get left on the cutting room floor. I don't know. So there's more people, if you want to point fingers, like let's just not point it at Shane because he can't just go off the fly and just go on a win. Like it's not, like it's just his comedy show. Mind you, this comedy show was was it at the Eagles, like wherever the Eagles play? I don't even know. But it was like a sold-out huge like football arena stadium. So For people that want to say he's not funny, he broke records. So let's like think about that for a second. but yeah, I mean, it's just you people can just we just need to learn how to brush things off more. There's obviously a time and a place and where things need to be addressed where it's like, ooh, we can't really ignore that. But there's also other things where it's like, mm-hmm. We probably can ignore that. Like it's really not that big of a deal. We have bigger fish to fry. So it almost just gets embarrassing of the things that we create to be a huge issue. Like I get embarrassed sometimes. Like honest, like, I don't know. This might rub people the wrong way, but sometimes I get embarrassed to be a woman because I'm like, we get so bent out of shape. And for what? For what? Truly, honestly. Like it's just crazy. Like, are there things to be angry about that go on in this world? Absolutely. Did I think Shane Gillis's monologue was one of them? No. Because I also have those same thoughts sometimes on, wow, that's what you're wearing to the gym? A little crazy. I wouldn't, but hey, if you you got the body, great, go for it. Don't got the body, you want to do it, great, go for it. But I'm sitting here probably Thinking the same thing. You know, so it's like, I can't even like, he's not wrong. That's the thing. Like, he's not completely wrong. And if we really, really wanna dive into it, you know, it almost just seems like those same women who are so upset about Shane Gillis's comment with the gym and what people wear are the same women that all all that got all up in arms about Sydney Sweeney's. Ad for the sports betting and how she wanted to promote it. Pick and choose. You have to find a lane. It's like we want to support women. We want to empower women, let them do whatever they want. But there's gotta be, it's only when it fits our narrative, right? Like Sydney Sweetie, she's putting back women like all 30 years, yada, yada, yada. I can't believe like this is what she's doing. Like, this is how she wants to promote herself. This is how she wants to do. She wants to use her body to make money, yada, yada, yada. But then at the same time, when a man brings up what women are wearing to the gym, being like, whoa, that's that's crazy that women are dressing like that to the gym, then we want to be all mad. She can wear whatever she wants. I don't know. This is where I I personally get confused because I'm like, okay, what is okay? What is not okay? What's acceptable? When is it an issue? I just feel like it's just gets to a point where it's almost like people just want something to argue about. People just want something to be upset about. People just want there to be an issue to have some sort of stance to argue with people in the comments online. Just create, like I said, some societal emergency that is just completely crazy to me. I'm just like, we I don't know. I don't know. I just get really all in a tizzy about how crazy everybody else gets in a tizzy over things. you know, it's just like we get very selective about what we want to get angry about. And I think we just really have lost the plot. And again, like I said, there's obviously lines and boundaries and things that yes, are worth talking about. worth addressing, worth being like, that is an issue that's not okay. And then there's other things that it's like, can we just calm it down for a second? Because on in the same regard, also like let's not talk about, have you guys ever experienced a woman comedian and the way they talk about men? Men bashing from start to finish nearly. I'm just saying. I am just saying. So we just, I don't know. I just feel like we need to tone it back. We need to just relax a little bit and kind of figure out like what what we're really mad at. but you know, again, like I said, I, you know, I understand like there's some people that they're just gonna hear anything negative about women coming from a man and they're gonna immediately get all upset. And then you know, you have those people that are like, okay, the joke just wasn't funny. And that, okay, yeah. Like, yeah, sometimes it's just like, that just like wasn't funny. Like, okay, which is whatever. But it's when you kind of turn the conversation to be like, this is a huge issue. Like, why did he say this? Like, women can wear whatever they want. And here's another thing too. Women, the people that are posting their workout outfits and their little posts about being like, I don't care. What you say about what I wear, yada, yada, yada. Like basically just trying to like make a joke back or bashing him or whatever. And then you're posting your outfit and it's like you're in regular workout attire, leggings and a shirt. He's not talking about you. He was, he's not talking about regular workout attire. So please stop posting that. You look like a clown. It's not that. That's literally not what he's talking about. We all know what he's talking about. It's people that almost wear nothing to the gym because whether you're a man, whether you're your woman, whatever, you're gonna look because it is distracting. Let's just call it like it is. It is distracting. Again, do what you want. But a fact is a fact. It is distracting. You can't sit here and tell me that you wouldn't like. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. So I just feel like, you know, it's not necessarily about Shane Gillis. Anybody could have said that. It would have been the same. If a woman would have said it, I don't know. It probably would not have caused a huge outroar. but I just feel like we just don't know how to disagree with comment comedy. You know, it's like we can't just be like, didn't land and move on. It's just everything has to be. A huge discussion, a huge opinion, huge uproar, huge moral compass and just an issue. Like I said, it's just it's just crazy. But I just I need to know. Like, were you offended by the joke? If you were offended, why were you offended? Is this something that you do at the gym? if if if it weren't offended, great. I'm just curious. Like, did you think it was funny? Are there is society just being a little bit dramatic when it comes to this specific situation. I mean, like I said, I didn't really think anything of it. I don't know if that's maybe, maybe I'm the problem. Maybe I am the issue. I'm not really sure. And then, you know, we're now having articles come out about other celebrities that are liking things that were thinking his SNL skit or his monologue was funny. I'm pretty sure I saw a people's article talking about Travis Kelsey liked post about Shane Gillis's monologue, basically like him thinking it was funny or supporting it or whatever. That was that was an article. We're now looking at what people are liking on Instagram to determine where they stand on anything. And it's like. We're tired. I'm tired. Are you guys not tired? Is everybody not tired of having an issue with something? But I get it. Like I yeah, I actually sorry, I don't get it. I'm just saying comedy is subjective. I get it if you don't find it funny. But I don't understand the huge offense. I don't know. I guess I just take things very lightly. I understand where, you know, I have a line for sure. But I don't know. I don't know. It's just We're kind of going insane. and other insane news. I can't believe that this is about to be another topic. Or sorry, about to this is about to be my next topic. Bird Gate. Okay. We got to talk about Bird Gate. Kelly Clarkson and this whole $15,000 mechanical bird situation. My first question, whenever all of this was coming across my desk, my first thought. I don't care who you are. I don't care if this thing was $15, $15,000, $15 million. Who in the world wants a mechanical bird? Who needs a mechanical bird? I don't know if she has some very specific room in her house, like she's creating some sort of theme. This is for a party. Why do you need a mechanical bird? And again, I don't care if you get it at Five Below or this really high end store in Brooklyn. That that is the question that we all need to be asking. I'm just more concerned about the fact that she wanted this bird, that she was like, I really need this $15,000 bird. That that is what actually, out of this whole situation, I can't even wrap my mind around and come to terms with and accept. I gotta be completely honest with you, I can't accept this. I can't accept that anybody would want a fifteen thousand dollar mechanical bird. And like I said, or a fifteen dollar mechanical bird. Like I I really, I truly don't understand it. But if we just take that out of the equation, if we take what the object is out of the equation. this story is just kind of funny. Like, I just didn't have this on my radar as being something that I would be tuning in and interested in and talking about here on the podcast because I feel like Kelly Clarkson, you know, she's very beloved across the majority of just the population, you know. I don't feel like she has a lot of controversy. I feel, you know, she came from a small town and She's really just made something of herself and she's just known for being very sweet, very personable, and you know, just polite to fan like she's just universally well liked, whether you consume her music or her show, whatever the case may be. It's just Kelly Clarkson is well liked. But anyways, so I just was really shocked at this whole situation. So basically, you know, she is s comes across this store. It's called Arts a Play. Is that what it's called? Art a Play, not Arts, but Art A Play. It's a Brooklyn specialty curiosity shop. and so she saw it. She was like, my gosh, I need to go. I want to check it out. They have all these cool things. You know, she wants to support small businesses, which amazing. That's absolutely she should. And so she goes into the store and she sees this mechanical bird. Okay. $15,000. She wants it. Here's the thing, she's inquiring about it to the store, the employees, whatever. And she was under the impression that she got pretty womaned. And if you don't know what that means, Julia Roberts basically, you know, she can't afford things, whatever. And people are just assuming she can't afford things by the way that she's looking, dressed, presenting herself, whatever, assuming she can't afford it and insinuating as such. And Obviously that's gonna offend anybody. You know, that's gonna offend anybody. My question is. I don't know, obviously like I don't work in sales. I don't have a shop. And sure, like there are a lot of luxury stores a lot of people probably, you know, dip into to just kind of look and wonder and fantasize, like, if I had all this endless money, like what would I want to buy? Obviously, like I'm sure like people go in and do that. My thought process is if somebody is inquiring, like they Can see a price tag or maybe not even for that specific item, but just like can pretty much get the gist that a lot of things in this store are very expensive. If they are going as far to inquire about it, talk to the owner, talk to an employee, talk to a clerk, whatever. I would think, as that person working in the store, would think, okay, like this person has dollars ready to spend, you know, wanting to release some money. Because if you didn't, you wouldn't be asking. You know, it's always like the salespeople are going up to you, like, hi, how can I help you? Like really staying on your back, especially in high-end stores or luxury stores. But I mean, I don't fully know the nature of the store, but I'm assuming with this thing being fifteen thousand dollars, it's not a cheap store. So they pretty much, you know, stay on your back because it's like get in or get out, like buy something or get out. You know, like they don't it's not like it's a target. Or a Coles. Do we really go? I don't even know. Are there even Coles anymore? I don't know. But so the way that the clerk, the store owner, whatever who it was, was approaching Kelly was basically insinuating that she couldn't afford it. So I don't know really know why you're asking about this $15,000 bird. And one, how do you not know who Kelly Clarkson is? But I will I will give them the benefit of the doubt because at least for me, like whenever me and my husband, if we go to LA or New York, he's really good at spotting celebrities. Me, it's really weird. If I see you in person, like unless you are very it's a very distinct, I'm like, for sure. Like it's very obvious. It takes a second for me to recognize a celebrity out of the element that I'm recognize them in, you know, because normally you're seeing them on TV or in a movie or Whatever, and they always look very done up, or it's just a very specific setting, like a TV show. So seeing them out of the element, sometimes it takes me a second. So I guess I could see it in that regard, but I would think after you're going back and forth and you're having a conversation, you would start to recognize it's Kelly Clarkson, but maybe not. Maybe not. I don't know. Okay. so she was obviously very offended by this and was like, that's insane. All right, gotta go. They were trying to give her a different item, I guess that was comparable to what she wanted, yada yada. But this chick wasted no time blasting them on Twitter or X. And to me, I'm like, if she's gonna take the time to do that, that must be true. Like all of those actions must be accurate. I mean, she I just have to read it. Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn't afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude, you're an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y'all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character and pretty woman. For sure. Check it out. Thumbs down emoji. So I mean she wasted no time like calling this store out and s like so To me, I just Kelly Clarkson just doesn't seem like somebody who wants to cause a lot of drama, wants to cause chaos, have any sort of issue going on. So I would take that as that pretty much happened, like for sure. Like she just doesn't seem like that type of entitled person. And I think too, you know, a lot of people, they write reviews, you know, at a restaurant, at a store, whatever their experience is. We just don't highlight it in the same way as once a celebrity does. Like once a celebrity makes a review, calls it out, it's a whole nother game, a whole nother atmosphere, a whole nother thing that just because you're gonna have her fans, you're gonna have people. Now you name the puppy. You named the puppy, you named the store. You didn't just say a store in Brooklyn or give little hints about maybe saying like a mechanical bird, like you named the store and the location. You have fans and people are crazy, they are going to rally. Okay. And that's exactly what happened. Like the store owner came out to basically say, you know, like it's dangerous now. We're having so many people come to our store harassing us. It's just kind of been like a whole dangerous situation. And, you know, they pretty much said, like, that also wasn't even accurate. That wasn't true. Because I guess. And I don't know if you guys know like sometimes there's stores or I'm just trying to think, give an example, maybe even I don't know, just like displays somewhere. And sometimes, you know, it'll have maybe like an a piece and it'll say not for sale underneath it. Maybe say like the price value of what it's worth, but we'll also disclaim that's it's not for sale. So basically what this store is trying to say is okay, like we had this mechanical bird, which is named Molly, by the way. Whatever. And Saying, like the actual bird itself that's on display is not for sale, but its twin basically is for sale. So we can sell you that, not this actual one that you are visibly seeing right here, right now, like the original piece. but I guess there's just like all this confusion because right next to the bird, there is a price tag that says $15,000, right next to the piece that can't be sold. So I don't know if there's just miscommunication on that front, but whatever it was, like there was obviously the way the conversation was going down did not translate well to Kelly. She felt like you're assuming I can't afford this. You're trying to give something comparable to me. Problem is, is we now have footage, but we don't have any audio. Like footage was released from the whole store experience, which is why even give that to us if you don't have the audio because audio. Is the context, okay? Tone is everything because if you don't clearly state, ma'am, I'm so sorry, like this original piece isn't for sale, but we have, you know, like a replica. That's the $15,000. Like this is just like for the display, like this piece for sure, but we have one in the back. Let me go get that for you. Okay, perfect. Versus, you know, something along the lines of, yeah, no, that one's fifteen thousand dollars. Let me get something comparable for you that's similar. That makes it seem like, you think I can't pay the fifteen thousand dollars, you're gonna hand me a five thousand dollar mechanical bird. I s I'm sorry, I still can't get over the fact that we're literally talking about the purchase of a mechanical bird. I still I need her to come forward and tell me what she's doing with that mechanical bird. And the vision that she has for it because I'm really struggling. Like I just I can't get past that piece. Whatever. That's neither here nor there. Not my circus, not my monkey. I don't know. It's just insane to me. but okay, yes. So it was $2,000 of what this replica singing bird was. but She, you know, she doesn't stand for that. She doubles down and she's like, no, that's actually not what happened. what did she say? Cause I put okay, so her response to basically the stores coming out saying, like, that's not what happened. The original piece isn't for sale. Yada yada yada. She says, Cool, cool, sure, it wasn't for sale. That's the narrative Arta Play is gonna go with. So the whole conversation we had when I asked you if it was for sale, whilst pointing to the price tag hanging on the wall. With the title Singing Bird didn't happen, as you elevator-eyed me saying in a condescending tone, Yes, it's for sale, but it costs $15,000. So if you'd like me to find something comparable for you, I can. That all never happened and now it's not for sale. Okay, cool. So you're not only rude, you're also a liar. Got it. And by the way, I obviously support small businesses because I was literally at a small business trying to purchase things. I love small businesses and I know they are important and I always support them. But you don't get a free pass to treat people less than in your store just because you are a small business. It's not that hard to be kind. I never bless people, but you, my friend, we're an exception. Your store is really cool. Unfortunately, you aren't. And she ate with that. Yeah. I mean, I just don't really think there's much more for this store to say. Like, we don't have audio. Okay, we have video footage, but that really gives us nothing. And I like I said, obviously I don't know Kelly personally. Mean Kelly, we don't go kiki up, go to lunch and text, and I know the ins and outs of her. But just what I feel like she how she just is, how she's perceived, how people, you know, feel about her, everything just seems to really truly be in a positive light. I just can't see her. just making this up and or even misinterpreting it enough to come public with it and like I said, name the puppy, name the store and kind of put a target on their back. I don't know how that's gonna go for the store in the future. Like I gotta pray for them because I just, you know, at least, you know, people will forget about it. They'll move on. but yeah, and it also it just argues the point of like when does it become dangerous when a celebrity, you know, argues about something or not argues, sorry, but like creates a buzz of reporting their experience at a store or a restaurant or even, you know, naming an a specific individual. Because as we know, there's Google reviews all the time, Yelp reviews, whatever. So many people leave so many reviews, but that's not going like you're not gonna see, like if some Like Amber from Illinois tweeted that out about Art of Play. You know, she was visiting Brooklyn and wanted to check it out. Like nobody would be at their doors causing chaos and being really angry about it. But it's because it's Kelly Clarkson that's, you know. So and obviously I don't think she tweeted that out to have intent of like, yeah, people are going to go attack this small business and it's gonna be a whole thing. I think, you know, I don't know, she's just probably really angry in the moment, but I mean, I still think people, celebrity or not, deserve to if they feel like they need to say something, they should. Kind of just letting people know, this was my experience at that store. So good luck. But the problem is, is nobody else knows how to handle themselves. Nobody knows how to just okay, put that in my back pocket. If I ever need to find a mechanical bird, maybe don't go to R to play. Or just know if I need to get something at this store, I need to look my best, or I might just get turned down. I don't I don't I don't really know. But she probably wasn't wrong. She probably wasn't wrong. Until we have some audio so I can get more context of the tone. I just feel like she wouldn't have gone out and done all that for just really no reason. But that's just my thoughts on that. all right. So I know everybody was just really personally victimized by Guillermo surviving dancing with the stars last week against Sierra. I hope everybody. Has recovered, taken a deep breath, moved on. I guess justice has been restored in the ballroom this week because Guillermo did go home. they were eliminated, Guillermo and Whitney on Super Bowl night. And he actually got like the highest score I think he's gotten in all the dances so far, which is kind of interesting. But I just wanted to go backwards for a little bit because with the whole Sierra going home. The way people were talking about Guillermo, it was almost as if he like personally hijacked her votes, stuffed them into his little box, and that's how he stayed. I don't really understand. People were just really up in arms, I felt like. And it's so funny because I feel like a lot of people were are huge fans of Guillermo. I feel like so many people were supporting him and rooting for him. And then all of a sudden, when Sierra goes, it's my gosh, I can't believe Sierra left. Okay. So, you know, why is just everybody so mad? Okay, I am a new consumer of Dancing with the Stars. Okay. I started last year, or last season, I guess. I don't even remember. I guess that would have been last year. I don't know. But I've learned that it really isn't all about technique, shocker, right? Like objectively, yeah, Sierra was the better dancer for sure. But there's so much more to that. And I feel like that's what people forget about sometimes when their faves leave. because if it was solely about dancing and if it was solely about technique and people getting better, I don't think us as America like we would be able to vote because we don't know. I mean, I could look and just probably be like, that looked better or not, but you start talking about technical things and things I don't even notice. Like once the judges start pointing them out, I'm just like, like I thought that was great. And then they point out something that they need to work on or fix. Couldn't tell you about that. But obviously, like that's not the whole thing here. Okay. I feel like it looks at the person and their development. Like, have they d improved at all? Everybody's starting at a different level, you know? But it's like, have they improved at all from the very moment that they started? Everybody's gonna be on a different playing field, right? And then their package, like the journey that they're going through, how they relay themselves to the audience. If they are captivating the audience, you know, I feel like there's just a lot that goes into it. And I understand that it probably is very frustrating when you're actually seeing people that do have technique or of like I said, objectively a better dancer, but that's just really kind of not the sole thing of the show that I've gathered. And I feel like people don't recognize that. And I feel like they should by now. But it's just, it was just so interesting to me to see the internet go crazy, like, this is rigged or Gyriamo needs to go. Like, this is a dance competition. Like, what are we doing? But I mean, arguably, okay, yeah, it's a dance competition. So then why are we not like, why are we putting people on the show that can't dance? You know what I mean? It's like you have some people that have talent or maybe a little bit of background in dance, and then you have some people that have none. So it's just like that already alone isn't an even playing field. So I think that's where it's like you pull in other aspects of how you connect with the fan bases and how you connect to the audience and your journey through the whole thing. It's like you have those other factors that may can contribute to elevate you if it's not necessarily just your technique. So, like I said, if we want the best dancer to win, they shouldn't be having America having any sort of contribution or say. Into how people are getting eliminated because we don't know. Okay. We're not the experts. Never claim to be, you know, you're voting for your faves. You're voting for who you like the most, who's the most entertaining, who do you like seeing on your screen? And, you know, I know last year people were like, all right, Andy's gotta go. And okay. Let's just be completely for real right now. The people that get on there that Are maybe I don't want to say casted as the what do you call it? Like the comedic cast. Is that like the right? Basically, the one you know is not going to win. Okay. It seems to be the lovable person, but the one that is just not going to make it. Like Andy, like there was no way last year Andy was gonna win. And let's just be honest, Guillermo wasn't gonna win this season either. But you have somebody on there that's like lovable and wants to do well. Like Guillermo truly wanted to do well. He wanted to try his best. He wanted to put all he could into it. He was having fun. He was doing just like just being goofy, being himself, putting everything into it, having a good time. And people loved watching that. And that connected obviously with a lot of people. It's like everybody's so mad that Sierra went home. But like, let us not forget that just meant so many more people were voting for Guillermo to stay. I mean, I don't know. It's just kind of interesting to me. It's like, yeah, I get it. It can be frustrating when let's say somebody that you really do like was a better dancer than whoever got to stay. Cause it's just kind of like, ugh, like that is annoying. but you gotta have to look at it as a whole and with everything. I just don't think that Dancing with the Stars did really Sierra any favors when it came to like her package and like her development on the show in terms of just like her storyline. I feel like it was just so honed in on her Bravo in Summer House situation with like West and Amanda. And it's like she's more than that. Okay. Like she has so much more To her, so much more to her personality, so much more to give. Like she's done way more than that scandal. And I think that's where, you know, it just lacked. And not saying that that's any fault of her own, but it's just unfortunate. I feel like that ultimately it's like after a while, like, okay, like let's move past the whole West and Amanda storyline and you know, create. more of a storyline that's more Sierra focus versus what's happened to her. Like who is Sierra versus what's happened to her. And I think that's just kind of how that downfall happened. but anyways, yeah, I just don't I feel like we forget that it's never really been about who dances the best. You know, it just is who is kind of A fan favorite, you know, at the time. But we can't just say like he like is getting lucky because obviously not. Like he left. Okay. He left this week. So his time is is gone. it's done. The hat's been put up. And so we can't say that it's rigged, because maybe he would still be there. But I think we just all need to understand it's like at some point, the lovable person who honestly isn't that great of a dancer, like they're not going to make it to the end. So they're having a good time, fans are loving it. But I do think there comes to a point in the show where it's like, okay, we can't keep voting for this person to stay on the show. because I think that's really, you know, at some point it's like you really have to more so kind of focus in on the dancing techniques and the capabilities. But I mean, again, I haven't watched Dancing with the Stars for very long. Okay. Last season was my first dose, but I don't know. And please somebody tell me. If there's been a winner that has been the same casting of, you know, the stereotype or the casting prototype of Andy or a Guillermo. You know what mean? but but yeah, I mean, justice for Sierra, Guillermo went home this week. So I hope everybody is I hope You know, everybody is kind to him because he genuinely looked like he was having so much fun and he's so sweet. And I don't know why everybody was mad that he got to stay. but yeah, I think I think either way we can all calm down. We can now look at who's left and they all look to be pretty much comparable in terms of the level of playing field that they're on. So I think we now can. move forward. We don't have to be so angry that there is a funny, lovable, not that great of a dancer trying their best, middle aged or maybe even older man still on the show. But but yeah, I'm curious, like how do you think moving forward? Like should they change the trajectory of how dancing with the stars is managed? Like, do you think America needs to completely not have a play in Who advances and who ultimately wins? Like, how do you think they should reward these stars? Like best dancer or most improved dancer, or, you know, just who is simply the most entertaining. I'm just curious because, you know, there's no one, no one's ever gonna be happy. Everybody's always gonna have an opinion on who should stay, who should go, this is rigged, yada yada, yada. It just, it's time and time again. But, you know, if you're gonna have America involved in it, I mean. A lot of the times too, like some people like it's just it's gonna be partly biased in terms of who they just like actually like and enjoy, not the technicality of it all. But that's just me. That's just me. you know, I don't know. I mean, me personally last year I thought it should have been Alex Earl as the winner. I thought Whitney and Alex Earl should have been in the final two. But, you know, nobody asked me. Nobody just counted my votes. but anyways, so there's that. And then sorry you feel so winded. Chic and week of the week. Okay. These kind of go like they're kind of like a package deal, just like a little bit. my chic of the week is keeping the cinema alive. Okay. I love a movie theater. I love it so much. Me and my husband, we are Cinemark moviegoers. We are Cinemark members. We have a membership. We joined the club. I love it. It's so much fun. The benefits of it, it's it's great. But just the whole experience of going to the movie theater is just so chic. Like, I hate that a lot of people, you know, they're like, I'll just wait till streaming. I'll just wait till streaming. Like, no, you need to treat yourself. You need to go to the movie theater every once in a while. Like, bring a little whimsy back into your life. Like, there is something so just Nostalgic and also warm and cozy. I will say the one thing that I absolutely love that is not a thing anymore about the movies is having to show up so much earlier than the scheduled movie time because you have to make sure you get the best seats. And then you pretty much finish all your popcorn like before the previews even start because you have to get there almost like 45 to an hour earlier. I love the whole concept of getting your seats before you get there. So you don't have to have that. But I love walking into the Theater and smelling the popcorn and a crispy, crispy diet coke. So freaking good. And yes, I am that person that brings a blanket, not a crazy blanket, you know, just like a little thin throw. Cause I like to feel cozy. I need my seat to recline back. I love to turn on the little heater. Dare I say I sneak in candy? Absolutely. But I will be getting the popcorn and the drink there. Yeah, I love it. I I love it. And I love it when it's like we can collectively like as a group, strangers, we're watching a movie. We all react the same to things. I don't know. It's just, it's really fun. I love going to the movie theater and keeping the cinema alive. I feel like a huge contributor to that. And yeah, so if you haven't gone to the movie theater lately, this is your sign to do so. Okay. Find a movie, go. You don't have anybody to go with, go by yourself. I mean, you the thing is it's like you don't have to talk to anybody. So it's really not that weird. It's not crazy. but enjoy it, you know, make it a whole experience. yeah, it's just so much fun. but in the same vein of that, my week of the week is Verity. I'm so sorry. I didn't really like it. I didn't, and it's really disappointing because I was looking forward to it so much for so long. I just, I didn't, I don't know. And here's the thing, I am not somebody that's like, it needs to match the book exactly, or I didn't like it because it didn't lead up to the same way that the book did, or yada, yada, yada. To be completely honest, I read that book so long ago, I forgot so much of it. Just the movie itself. I felt like it was very slow. I just didn't feel on the edge of my seat. You know, it's like a thriller. Like I wanted to feel. I don't know, feel a little bit more. I just didn't, I didn't really vibe with it. so it was just disappointing. And I don't know if I just don't do myself any favors because my main, at least for the theater movie of choice, is going to see a scary movie and going to see a thriller. And so I've been very blessed with having those types of movies and feeling so anxious and just like on the edge of my seat. So when that doesn't deliver in a movie, that is supposed to be a thriller, just like, my gosh. I get very disappointed. So this is not to say, you know, knocking anybody that said that they really enjoyed it, because I've heard people really loved it. I heard people that read the book really liked it. People that didn't read the book really liked it. Me, I just didn't. And it has nothing to do with the book, because I couldn't even tell you really anymore. Like I wouldn't have even remembered. It was really just the movie itself. And I just was looking forward to it for so long. so I was really upset that I just I don't know. I just was wanting a little bit more.
