Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome to Inside the Birds Pregame Show. I'm Jeff
- 0:13Speaker 1: Mosher with Adam Kaplan and of course, when it's an
- 0:16Speaker 1: Inside the Birds Pregame show, you know, we got Greg
- 0:19Speaker 1: Cosela to help us break down the tape of the
- 0:21Speaker 1: Eagles and their opponent as we preview a very big
- 0:25Speaker 1: matchup here. Week twelve, Philadelphia Eagles heading down down southwest
- 0:30Speaker 1: to play their rival the Dallas Cowboys in what is
- 0:34Speaker 1: probably a more interesting game now then maybe we might
- 0:38Speaker 1: have thought it would have been a couple of weeks ago.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And without a doubt, the one thing I think we
- 0:42Speaker 1: both can all three of us can agree on is
- 0:46Speaker 1: these teams are a lot different now than when they
- 0:49Speaker 1: first met Week one. They've been through their fair share
- 0:51Speaker 1: of injuries, they've been through their fair share of changes,
- 0:55Speaker 1: and both teams coming off wins. The Eagles at eight
- 0:58Speaker 1: and two atop the NFL see right now with an
- 1:01Speaker 1: impressive win over back to back wins really over the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Packers and Lions last week, and the Cowboys with their
- 1:07Speaker 1: new look, they improved, we shall say the Cowboys did.
- 1:11Speaker 1: They improved to four or five and one with a
- 1:15Speaker 1: thirty three to sixteen win coming out.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Of the buy over the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So I'd like to start off this conversation just with
- 1:23Speaker 1: getting both of your guys takes, Adam and Greg on
- 1:27Speaker 1: the significance of this matchup now compared to what we
- 1:30Speaker 1: might though it would have been a couple of weeks ago. Adam,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I don't think the Cowboys may have whatever they may say,
- 1:36Speaker 1: the division is still within reach.
- 1:38Speaker 2: They're just trying to make the playoffs with all the.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Moves they made, but it's becomes an interesting game for
- 1:43Speaker 1: them if they're able to win it.
- 1:45Speaker 2: As far as that seventh that last seed in the NFC.
- 1:48Speaker 3: It's funny you said, because I was on with Mike
- 1:49Speaker 3: Gill on Friday, and that's exactly what we talked about,
- 1:52Speaker 3: because if you look at their schedule the rest of
- 1:54Speaker 3: the way, good luck if you lose this game for
- 1:57Speaker 3: the Cowboys, right they host the Chiefs or really desperate
- 2:00Speaker 3: to save their season. The Lions all sorts of injuries.
- 2:04Speaker 3: They they got it. They gotta win like they're desperate.
- 2:07Speaker 3: The Vikings are totally desperate. The Chargers after that terrible loss,
- 2:12Speaker 3: you know in Week sixteen, then they play the Commandos
- 2:14Speaker 3: and Giants. But so they I'm not saying they have
- 2:16Speaker 3: to win out if they lose this game, but there's
- 2:18Speaker 3: a ton of pressure on them that they know they
- 2:20Speaker 3: have to win this. They're not the greatest home team
- 2:22Speaker 3: in the world. They've made all the funny Jeff, you
- 2:25Speaker 3: mentioned both teams. Both teams have made significant trades. It's
- 2:27Speaker 3: it's really wild how a couple of players on the
- 2:30Speaker 3: Eagle side and getting some guys back from injury of
- 2:32Speaker 3: taking this defense up. And for the Cowboys, I want
- 2:35Speaker 3: to get Greg's opinion. They went from starting two DT
- 2:38Speaker 3: to three and what that front looks like. So, yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 3: there's been a lot of change.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of change.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And of course, Greg, if the Eagles win and they
- 2:45Speaker 1: get to nine and two, not only will that perhaps
- 2:48Speaker 1: silence a few critics because it's been a couple of
- 2:50Speaker 1: rough weeks for them from public perception, but also nine
- 2:54Speaker 1: and two with a I guess at that point it
- 2:58Speaker 1: would be a five game lead over Dallas. With two
- 3:01Speaker 1: wins over Dallas, and then you're looking at, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: six games left. I mean, you pretty much wrap up
- 3:06Speaker 1: the division. And remember the historical milestone here. No NFC
- 3:10Speaker 1: East team has ever repeated as division champs. Since the
- 3:14Speaker 1: three four Eagles.
- 3:15Speaker 4: That's a long long time it is.
- 3:18Speaker 5: I mean, obviously, you know, you always hate to say things,
- 3:21Speaker 5: as Adam said, like, well, it's their season, but in
- 3:23Speaker 5: many ways it is the Cowboys season because of the
- 3:25Speaker 5: toughness of their upcoming schedule. They have a game against
- 3:29Speaker 5: the Eagles, which will be a physical game, that's the
- 3:31Speaker 5: way the Eagles play, and then they've got a very
- 3:33Speaker 5: short turnaround to play the Chiefs. Now, granted both games
- 3:36Speaker 5: are at home, but these are two very difficult games.
- 3:39Speaker 5: And I'm sure they're not looking ahead because they can't
- 3:42Speaker 5: afford to be doing that. But this this will be well,
- 3:46Speaker 5: you know, it's funny. I watch. Obviously they played the Raiders,
- 3:48Speaker 5: and I know there's people probably listening who will say, oh,
- 3:51Speaker 5: it's the Raiders, you know, and you know what, obviously
- 3:54Speaker 5: the Raiders are not very good.
- 3:55Speaker 4: We know that.
- 3:56Speaker 5: But I came away a little bit surprise impressed with
- 4:01Speaker 5: the Cowboys on both sides of the ball. Now, again,
- 4:04Speaker 5: if people want to say, oh, it's the Raiders, fine,
- 4:06Speaker 5: but we'll get into it in more detail. They actually
- 4:09Speaker 5: have some pretty good players. That defensive front is a
- 4:11Speaker 5: pretty interesting front now, particularly at the detackle rotation. So,
- 4:17Speaker 5: you know, I still think there are some concerns the
- 4:19Speaker 5: revel the rookie from East Carolina played for the first time.
- 4:23Speaker 5: He's going to play more. So we'll get into the details.
- 4:27Speaker 5: But they looked and offensively. The main thing with them
- 4:30Speaker 5: is can their own line hold up, because if it can,
- 4:33Speaker 5: they've got a lot of skill players. Yeah, fascinating matchups
- 4:36Speaker 5: in this game.
- 4:37Speaker 1: You know, Adam made the point about the three defensive
- 4:39Speaker 1: tackles the Cowboys have, which is weird. They went into
- 4:42Speaker 1: the season with only one that people might consider good
- 4:44Speaker 1: and that's oh see O'deghizoa. But when I watched the
- 4:48Speaker 1: tape greg of that game against the Raiders, I felt
- 4:51Speaker 1: like I consistently saw some pretty good middle push that
- 4:54Speaker 1: allowed edge rushers to get some opportunities. It reminded me
- 4:57Speaker 1: of how the Eagles rushed the passer. When they rush
- 5:00Speaker 1: with either four or five, they get a middle push
- 5:02Speaker 1: that makes it hard for the quarterback to step up,
- 5:05Speaker 1: so it enables the edge rushers to get around and
- 5:07Speaker 1: there were a few times where Houston or Fowler or
- 5:10Speaker 1: Ezrakuh were able.
- 5:11Speaker 2: To kind of get to Smith because of that middle pressure.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Well, we'll get into more of the detail of it,
- 5:16Speaker 5: but you're talking about you mentioned Odeghiezua, who's a good player.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Now they have Williams and they have Clark. I mean,
- 5:22Speaker 5: that is a very interesting, you know, trio trifect as
- 5:26Speaker 5: it were. And you know, they don't all play at
- 5:29Speaker 5: the same time necessarily. They'll play some snaps of five
- 5:31Speaker 5: to two, but they play a lot of four to
- 5:33Speaker 5: three as well, so all three guys are not always
- 5:35Speaker 5: on the field together. But that's a really nice rotation.
- 5:38Speaker 5: And believe it or not, there's a player who I
- 5:39Speaker 5: really liked coming out of UCLA, just one of those
- 5:42Speaker 5: things from watching tape who gets snaps named Jay Toya. Yeah,
- 5:46Speaker 5: he's a fascinating guy. He's big and he's got light
- 5:49Speaker 5: feet and he gets thirteen eighteen snaps a game.
- 5:52Speaker 4: He's part of that rotation.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Jeff, how much has changed this week? One DeMont Clark,
- 5:57Speaker 3: who started it was a good talent player. They cut
- 6:00Speaker 3: ye off. I mean, it's really remarkable. Jerry Jones and
- 6:04Speaker 3: he you know, he likes to blame everyone because the
- 6:07Speaker 3: run defense was terrible, so he's overdoing it. With like
- 6:11Speaker 3: Quinn Williams, Kenny Clark. It's we'll see, we'll see. You
- 6:16Speaker 3: may give a four point year seven yeards per carry
- 6:17Speaker 3: for the season. But it's just funny because you as
- 6:19Speaker 3: he set this up, which is interesting. They've changed, Eagles
- 6:23Speaker 3: have changed a little bit, but Cowboys, I mean significantly.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, let's let's widen the lens just for
- 6:29Speaker 1: the fun of it too. Even prior to Week one,
- 6:32Speaker 1: maybe a week or a week before Week one, that's it.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Coming out of camp, Michael Parson's gone, right, So now
- 6:37Speaker 1: Dallas since that time has added Kenny Clark, They've added
- 6:42Speaker 1: Quinnin Williams, They've added Logan Wilson, right, They've gotten Shavon
- 6:46Speaker 1: Ravel to play, as Greg was just mentioning, and the
- 6:50Speaker 1: Eagles have gotten Jail and Phillips.
- 6:52Speaker 2: They've had Zadarius Smith come.
- 6:54Speaker 1: And go in between Pram, They've had Michael Carter, they
- 6:59Speaker 1: had Jay Rri Alexander come and go. So it's amazing
- 7:03Speaker 1: how many people are on both of these teams that
- 7:06Speaker 1: weren't just one week going into the season, and it
- 7:10Speaker 1: makes for a fascinating matchup.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And Adam, you know.
- 7:13Speaker 1: There's far much more at stake for the Cowboys and
- 7:16Speaker 1: the Eagles. Eagles lose a game, they're gonna have to
- 7:19Speaker 1: deal with it from a fan standpoint, but in the
- 7:21Speaker 1: standings they're still in a good spot. Cowboys lose the game,
- 7:25Speaker 1: Like you just said, this season could be done. But
- 7:28Speaker 1: it almost feels like, while the Cowboys do have that
- 7:31Speaker 1: pressure on them, just from an internal delaware value, what
- 7:35Speaker 1: the narrative has been around the Eagles lately.
- 7:37Speaker 2: A loss is not gonna be good around here. I
- 7:39Speaker 2: mean it's good.
- 7:40Speaker 4: But here's the thing. I'm just being honest with you.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I know how it works in buildings, They're not gonna
- 7:44Speaker 4: care what the fans think.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Oh no, no, I don't. Yeah, I know that.
- 7:47Speaker 4: In social media, Yeah, one of the things that Syrian
- 7:49Speaker 4: does a great job of.
- 7:50Speaker 3: We could all come up with some criticisms with how
- 7:53Speaker 3: the offense has been managed, but in terms of team building,
- 7:56Speaker 3: Nick learned a lot from twenty twenty three from the
- 7:58Speaker 3: failure and the collapse. He does a great job of
- 8:01Speaker 3: managing problems.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Even if they lose.
- 8:04Speaker 3: The w ip and the fanatic could cry and make
- 8:07Speaker 3: you know, they'll find some new controversy, but the bottom line,
- 8:10Speaker 3: as the guy wins. We talked about the quarterback, they
- 8:14Speaker 3: win together, we understand what the player wants a coach.
- 8:17Speaker 3: If they lose, it's I can be a big deal.
- 8:18Speaker 3: By the way, they owner the tie breaker over the Rams,
- 8:22Speaker 3: the Bucks Packers, They're still.
- 8:25Speaker 2: In the driver's seat.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I think a loss would just bring sort of the
- 8:29Speaker 1: avalanche of question about who they are, especially if they
- 8:31Speaker 1: lose the way we yeah, like if they were to lose,
- 8:35Speaker 1: like you know, twenty one to twelve or thirteen, then
- 8:37Speaker 1: we look bad.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Sure, then you're gonna go, what's going on? Sure?
- 8:41Speaker 5: But you obviously I don't have not been looking at
- 8:43Speaker 5: my social media and my Twitter.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Feed because I'm sorry, dude, I know they crush you.
- 8:48Speaker 5: According to that Nick Siriani doesn't know anything about football.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Really, I didn't know that. Okay, yeah, is that breaking? Okay,
- 8:55Speaker 4: thank you.
- 8:55Speaker 5: By the way, that's what I'm being told, he doesn't
- 8:58Speaker 5: know anything about football.
- 8:59Speaker 4: But what is let me say question today?
- 9:00Speaker 5: Can the passing game?
- 9:02Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 9:03Speaker 4: The concept?
- 9:04Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, he doesn't know anything about football.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So did you guys know the Eagles are playing their
- 9:07Speaker 1: eleventh must win game of the season, by the way.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Right right, right?
- 9:11Speaker 4: Wait? Do fans really fit? That is?
- 9:13Speaker 3: As I peruse social and I see what the what
- 9:15Speaker 3: what's on the what's in the crawl of fans? Do
- 9:17Speaker 3: they think this is a musk game other than the Cowboys?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Because no, I'm just kidding, because every time the Eagles
- 9:22Speaker 1: lose a game, it's.
- 9:23Speaker 4: The end of the world. So yeah, no, it's like
- 9:26Speaker 4: fourth and one. Yeah, I get it.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I got all right, cock, Let's let's get into the
- 9:31Speaker 1: This is a very rare game in which we can
- 9:34Speaker 1: say the opponent is healthier than the Eagles. Now, the
- 9:37Speaker 1: Eagles are in good shape, but obviously the big issue
- 9:41Speaker 1: for them going into this game and beyond guys, is
- 9:44Speaker 1: Lane Johnson being out with the Liz Frank's brain. He
- 9:47Speaker 1: is the only player I believe on the fifty three
- 9:50Speaker 1: listed is out. So then, and we've known about that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So Fred Johnson is in, and I guess Matt Pryor
- 9:57Speaker 1: is in if it's going to be.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Kim Jurgens is questionable.
- 10:01Speaker 1: He was a full participant in practice on Friday, so
- 10:05Speaker 1: everything is trending the right way.
- 10:07Speaker 2: But I mean, I won't see it right now.
- 10:09Speaker 4: It's vital medical clearance before they fly on Saturday. Correct,
- 10:12Speaker 4: that's it.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he needs independent neurologists to clear him. He took
- 10:15Speaker 3: all the ones. So that's a great sign. Means he
- 10:17Speaker 3: feels good. And as I told you earlier this week,
- 10:20Speaker 3: despite the speculation, more players are coming back earlier from
- 10:22Speaker 3: concussions that I could remember within the seven days, it's
- 10:26Speaker 3: it's it's just whatever better treatment guys are being on,
- 10:31Speaker 3: whatever the case may be.
- 10:32Speaker 4: That's soak.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Cam's fine, by the way, the knees off the injury,
- 10:34Speaker 3: but that's a big deal because that look, he's not
- 10:38Speaker 3: they physically if you look left or right. We know
- 10:41Speaker 3: Dickerson's been dealing with different injuries. Dragons with the surgeries,
- 10:44Speaker 3: Dickerson with the surgeries, he seems a first year starter,
- 10:46Speaker 3: Lanes out he had the shoulder stinger issue. My lot
- 10:49Speaker 3: does not play at the usual high level. There's a
- 10:51Speaker 3: reason why. And run the pest pro still been pretty good.
- 10:54Speaker 4: But Jeff, as we sent it back to you, we know.
- 10:58Speaker 3: It's not just Barkley, but they're run blocking and they
- 11:01Speaker 3: physically if not look right, that the entire city. They
- 11:03Speaker 3: don't have to be on the introvert by the way
- 11:05Speaker 3: to not be playing well.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Right, and that yeah, that goes to the Cam. Jurgons
- 11:09Speaker 1: he might be able to play, and maybe i'd be fine,
- 11:11Speaker 1: but just going back to last week prior to leaving,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you can just tell. And we brought this up on Inside.
- 11:16Speaker 2: The Tape with Greg Gosale where we broke some things down.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Even when he's playing and considered quote unquote healthy, he
- 11:22Speaker 1: is not playing like the Pro Bowl version that he
- 11:25Speaker 1: was last year. And that's not a criticism or a knock.
- 11:28Speaker 1: He just looks physically different as far as making certain
- 11:32Speaker 1: angle blocks, getting to the second level, being explosive for
- 11:36Speaker 1: a center has not been there all year long. And
- 11:39Speaker 1: you know that is the big question when you're going
- 11:42Speaker 1: up against the Dallas team that now has three pretty
- 11:44Speaker 1: good interior defensive linemen that we'll get into when.
- 11:47Speaker 2: We talk about offense.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But Greg, I'm sure from an injury standpoint, it's good
- 11:51Speaker 1: to have Jurgons back. But again, this is not like
- 11:53Speaker 1: talking about twenty twenty four Cam Jurgons.
- 11:56Speaker 5: No, he hasn't looked that way for basically most of
- 11:58Speaker 5: the season. So, yeah, it could be an injury. I mean,
- 12:01Speaker 5: I know he's back with an issue for quite a while. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 5: that just doesn't really very often. Again, I'm not a doctor,
- 12:08Speaker 5: I don't know his exact situation, but backs very often
- 12:11Speaker 5: don't just totally go away right. So again we don't know.
- 12:15Speaker 5: But if he took all the ones and he gets cleared,
- 12:18Speaker 5: as Adam said, he's gonna play right.
- 12:20Speaker 1: The issue with the back, to my knowledge just from
- 12:23Speaker 1: talking to different people, is and we don't know what
- 12:26Speaker 1: surgery had.
- 12:27Speaker 2: It certainly depends on what it is.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But if if you have a few if you have
- 12:31Speaker 1: a fusion type surgery, whether it's a lower disc or
- 12:34Speaker 1: an upper disc, that that is a a restriction of
- 12:38Speaker 1: your range of motion that can never that doesn't come back.
- 12:42Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It's not like two years later you get you and
- 12:45Speaker 1: you may know people who have back surgery and they
- 12:46Speaker 1: kind of have to rotate a little bit differently because
- 12:49Speaker 1: of the fusion. That's just something that becomes part of
- 12:53Speaker 1: your lifestyle. And if that's the kind of back surgery
- 12:56Speaker 1: Jurgens had, I don't know that he did, so I'm
- 12:58Speaker 1: not I'm just relating what I know about.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Specifics are tough.
- 13:02Speaker 5: I mean, you know, you look someone like Sam Laporta
- 13:04Speaker 5: now who's got it back, and I saw today that
- 13:06Speaker 5: he's got a very slim chance of returning this year.
- 13:09Speaker 5: You know, backs are a tough deal.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Back surgery. He's having a procedure. I think to that, yeah,
- 13:15Speaker 4: I think you had it yea.
- 13:16Speaker 1: And to go back to Lane, who's going to be out,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know, indefinitely. We'll see when he's back with the
- 13:21Speaker 1: Liz Frank Adam. That's the kind of injury that's I
- 13:25Speaker 1: guess it's extra difficult because there's not a lot you
- 13:29Speaker 1: can do while you're shelved up with it. There are
- 13:32Speaker 1: some injuries, you might break an arm. You could still
- 13:35Speaker 1: keep your conditioning because you can get on a treadmill,
- 13:37Speaker 1: you can right, you can bike. But with a Liz Frank,
- 13:40Speaker 1: to our understanding, even after a surgery or even when
- 13:43Speaker 1: the swelling, there's not a whole lot you can do
- 13:46Speaker 1: to get your keep yourself in shape when you have
- 13:49Speaker 1: that injury.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It is because you can't be on your feet. So
- 13:52Speaker 3: it's there's you could sit down and left, but it's
- 13:54Speaker 3: it's a tough deal.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Man.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Your Lane, he's you know, he turns thirty six June.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I think he's you know, he's had a number of injuries.
- 14:02Speaker 3: He's super dead.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Yeah, father time does catch up everything.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Man, You've like, I don't know how Jackie Slater did it.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Greg I don't.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Did he play to.
- 14:10Speaker 5: He's forty something like that? Jack, ridiculous number of years?
- 14:15Speaker 5: Was it was it Matthews? I think yeah it was
- 14:18Speaker 5: it was the Matthews.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Oh oh the father? Did Clay the father? Yeah?
- 14:22Speaker 5: Bruce Bruce played.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Yeah, Bruce the tackle yeah Bruce as well?
- 14:29Speaker 1: Right right, hey, you know, just while we finished off injuries, because,
- 14:32Speaker 1: like I said, everybody else in the fifty three, the
- 14:34Speaker 1: only two other guys who are even considered questionable are
- 14:38Speaker 1: Miles Hinting and Jurgons. And I mean, I'm sorry Miles
- 14:40Speaker 1: Hinting and Willie Lampkin, who would doubtfully play anyway, but.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I are yeah, they have to be activated, right, It.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Did have to be activated, correct, was the one thing
- 14:50Speaker 1: that really jumps out to me. Greg, And I'm curious
- 14:52Speaker 1: if you've had the same thought too. I mean, we're
- 14:55Speaker 1: not doctors, but I can't I can understand why Dickerson
- 14:58Speaker 1: and Jurgons and father time with Lane Johnson. Jordan Malatta
- 15:03Speaker 1: also has not been twenty twenty four version all the time.
- 15:06Speaker 2: He's had some strange penalties.
- 15:09Speaker 1: He's been beaten a few times, and that's the one
- 15:12Speaker 1: that's sort of puzzling to me. Where it makes me
- 15:14Speaker 1: wonder because continuity and communication up front is so big
- 15:18Speaker 1: if the other stuff going on the offensive line just
- 15:22Speaker 1: impacts him that way, and.
- 15:23Speaker 5: That's possible because cohesion is such a big deal. You
- 15:26Speaker 5: know when I go to the all line masterminds and
- 15:28Speaker 5: I hear all these all linemen talk about cohesion being
- 15:31Speaker 5: such a major deal working with your guy next to
- 15:35Speaker 5: you and all working together as a group of five.
- 15:38Speaker 5: You're not an individual player. So we don't know the
- 15:40Speaker 5: answer to that. But there's no question he has not
- 15:43Speaker 5: had the same year this year.
- 15:45Speaker 2: All right, Cowboys adam very healthy team for the most
- 15:48Speaker 2: part year.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that they've been the other one. Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 3: The Malie Hooker returned last week. He's he's he played,
- 15:56Speaker 3: you know, he'd been out for a while. Trayvon Jags
- 15:59Speaker 3: will not be playing. I don't know he'll play again
- 16:01Speaker 3: for them. With the strangeness of the concussion at his home.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I know some of the reporters are locally are questioning it.
- 16:07Speaker 3: But that's you know, that's the Cowboys.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Uh.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Clowny is the big one. Shoulder and neck issue. He
- 16:12Speaker 3: didn't have a full practice this week. But you know
- 16:14Speaker 3: the one thing is though, that's a position that they
- 16:18Speaker 3: have some depth. And Devon Azaraku, you know who we
- 16:23Speaker 3: all liked.
- 16:24Speaker 4: He's a factor now, Williamstown, New Jersey's finest Devon Sam Williams. Yeah,
- 16:29Speaker 4: they got some guys.
- 16:29Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, Williamstown, New Jersey. Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah yeah, they're they've got a nice little
- 16:37Speaker 1: I like the fact they have a good core of
- 16:40Speaker 1: veterans to go with the young guys. I mean they
- 16:42Speaker 1: bring in they still have Dante Fowler. Yeah, I'll give
- 16:44Speaker 1: you some snaps.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Of course.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Jadavian Clowney is one of those guys as a situational
- 16:49Speaker 1: pass rusher at this point of his career could still
- 16:51Speaker 1: give you thirty of the snaps and clause pressure. But
- 16:56Speaker 1: then they have the young guys like Ezraku, like Williams
- 16:59Speaker 1: and James Houston.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Greg is he is he? Where did he come from?
- 17:03Speaker 5: You know, he was the guy with Detroit, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 5: for a couple of years and he showed.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Up on tape.
- 17:07Speaker 5: I mean he's he's an odd guy because he can
- 17:10Speaker 5: rush the quarterback, but you know he's not really dealt
- 17:13Speaker 5: with as if. Wow, we got to get this guy
- 17:14Speaker 5: because he's a really good pass rusher, right, but every
- 17:17Speaker 5: time he shows up as a pass rusher, you know,
- 17:20Speaker 5: so he's he's an interesting guy.
- 17:22Speaker 2: He was the one guy that kept jumping out when
- 17:23Speaker 2: I was watching.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Their game against the Raiders and again against the Raiders,
- 17:26Speaker 1: that I kept having to go back to the to
- 17:28Speaker 1: the the roster to look at them.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I'm like, who is this fifty three?
- 17:32Speaker 4: Had a lot of injuries, you know, it's a shame
- 17:34Speaker 4: Detroit really could use.
- 17:35Speaker 3: They never should have let him go. I as simply
- 17:38Speaker 3: waived him. I don't remember exactly, but this guy's I
- 17:42Speaker 3: remember talking to the lines years ago. They felt like
- 17:45Speaker 3: their personal staff felt really proud because they found this guy.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Yeah, no longer they're Unfortunately.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You remember him coming out of college, Greg.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I do not.
- 17:53Speaker 5: I don't even know where he went to college.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I was gonnay that it's a rare guy that like
- 17:56Speaker 1: alludes you from your college to you.
- 17:58Speaker 5: No, I did, Like I said, I could look him
- 18:01Speaker 5: up now, but I don't remember when he went to college.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't either.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So, but yeah, he's been a nice little find for
- 18:07Speaker 1: them and that gives them that just adds to their
- 18:09Speaker 1: past rush. He probably plays on the edge as much
- 18:13Speaker 1: if not, you know, like right around there with Clowney
- 18:15Speaker 1: and with Ezraraka at this point.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Correct.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Yes, so by the way he played. He started at Florida,
- 18:23Speaker 5: so I'm curious if he was a big time recruit.
- 18:26Speaker 5: But then he transferred to Jackson State and was a
- 18:28Speaker 5: sixth round selection in the twenty twenty two draft by
- 18:31Speaker 5: the Lions.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Heard a lot that was and then they cut him.
- 18:36Speaker 3: He he Cleven claim rom off waivers. Cleven didn't didn't
- 18:40Speaker 3: bring him back for twenty five and oh he over the.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Highly recruited guy.
- 18:45Speaker 5: He went to American Heritage School, which is a big
- 18:48Speaker 5: time high school in South Florida, and it said that
- 18:51Speaker 5: he had offers from Wisconsin, South Carolina, Michigan, and Miami.
- 18:55Speaker 4: He's a smaller guy, that's that's part of why.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he knows Jackson State, so he doesn't have height
- 19:01Speaker 4: and length.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder was he recruited as an off ball
- 19:04Speaker 1: linebacker or.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Arm length is really good? It's thirty four and a quarter.
- 19:08Speaker 4: That's interesting, six to one. Jeez.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like Wisconsin, if he went there, he
- 19:12Speaker 2: would have.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Been an off ball six and a quarter.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Yeah, No, his tape is pretty good. He certainly has
- 19:21Speaker 1: some juice. When they put him in Ezraku on the
- 19:23Speaker 1: field together, it gives them a little extra lightning on
- 19:26Speaker 1: the edges.
- 19:27Speaker 5: He by the way, I mean he had a thirty
- 19:29Speaker 5: nine inch vertical. I mean this guy is not a
- 19:31Speaker 5: bad athlete, just based on testing. And he plays pretty
- 19:34Speaker 5: quick too.
- 19:36Speaker 1: So the challenge to me if we go back to
- 19:38Speaker 1: the first game and what the Cowboys did do well,
- 19:42Speaker 1: not a lot of things, but they ran the ball
- 19:44Speaker 1: fairly well against the Eagles. But the Eagles have since
- 19:47Speaker 1: clamped down on the run. They've been much better. It
- 19:49Speaker 1: looks like Jill and Carter is healthier. He doesn't seem
- 19:52Speaker 1: to be favoring his shoulders.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Playing in this game at post the last one.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But yeah, that's a great point and he's playing. Thank you,
- 19:57Speaker 2: good point. Hey, it's Jeff Mosher.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And if of a family and kids at home, like me,

- 21:31Speaker 6: There's a Skymotorcars dot com today are called six ten, nine.
- 21:35Speaker 2: To one, eight seventh five.
- 21:40Speaker 1: So the challenge I think for the Cowboys will be
- 21:43Speaker 1: they have this great prolific passing game, number one passing
- 21:47Speaker 1: game in the NFL.
- 21:49Speaker 2: But we've seen this.
- 21:50Speaker 1: You know, teams come in and play the Eagles and
- 21:51Speaker 1: they get a little bit in their heads on the
- 21:54Speaker 1: pass rush, and you know, you have to think that
- 21:57Speaker 1: Brian Schottenheimer release will try to keep the balance. I mean,
- 22:00Speaker 1: they do like to run with Javonte Williams, right, Greg.
- 22:03Speaker 5: I'd say there's a couple of things that really stand
- 22:05Speaker 5: out to me on this side of the ball. Number.
- 22:07Speaker 5: When the Cowboys do have a very good offense, the
- 22:11Speaker 5: key thing I think will be their O line, which
- 22:14Speaker 5: has been up and down. And everybody's going to focus
- 22:17Speaker 5: on the matchup of Terrence Steele versus Jalen Phillips. So
- 22:21Speaker 5: the question is how will they start that out? The
- 22:23Speaker 5: Cowboys I'm speaking to, will they feel that they have
- 22:26Speaker 5: to line up a tight end next to steel. Will
- 22:29Speaker 5: they feel that in pure pass situations they need to
- 22:32Speaker 5: chip or double team. Those are things that you'll look
- 22:35Speaker 5: for right away to see because if you have to
- 22:38Speaker 5: do that, then you lose whoever that is as a
- 22:41Speaker 5: true primary route runner. Obviously, if that person truly stays in,
- 22:46Speaker 5: you totally lose him. Even if it's a chip, then
- 22:50Speaker 5: he's he may not be a primary route runner. So
- 22:54Speaker 5: that's number one. Then I think there's some really fascinating
- 22:58Speaker 5: matchups here in the secondary because George Pickens has lined
- 23:01Speaker 5: up at boundary X, meaning the single receiver to the
- 23:04Speaker 5: short side of the field, more than any wide receiver
- 23:07Speaker 5: in the National Football League. And we now know that
- 23:09Speaker 5: quinny On Mitchell is the boundary corner for the Eagles,
- 23:12Speaker 5: So you're gonna get the Pickens Mitchell matchup pretty much.
- 23:15Speaker 5: It won't be on every snap, obviously, Pickens doesn't line
- 23:18Speaker 5: up at boundary X on every single snap, but that's
- 23:21Speaker 5: who he is in their offense, their boundary X, so
- 23:23Speaker 5: that matchup is fascinating. Then even look to the inside
- 23:27Speaker 5: because Ceedee Lamb, who does line up both inside and
- 23:29Speaker 5: outside because the Cowboys do play a good amount of
- 23:32Speaker 5: twelve personnel where Lamb would be an outside receiver, but
- 23:35Speaker 5: when they go to thirteen, Lamb does become a guy
- 23:38Speaker 5: that lines up inside. He's a movement guy. You know,
- 23:41Speaker 5: are you going to get the Cooper Deujene Ceedee Lamb
- 23:43Speaker 5: matchup inside? You know if the Eagles and the Eagles
- 23:46Speaker 5: have played a good amount of man, so you're going
- 23:48Speaker 5: to see these matchups. They're pretty fascinating matchups, particularly the
- 23:53Speaker 5: Pickens Mitchell matchup, because Pickens again, we know, I mean,
- 23:59Speaker 5: I'm not I don't don't care what kind of guy
- 24:00Speaker 5: he is, you know, I know people talk about that
- 24:02Speaker 5: maybe he's not a great guy, but he is a
- 24:05Speaker 5: really good receiver, and you could easily make the argument
- 24:08Speaker 5: he's a top five receiver in the league just on
- 24:10Speaker 5: pure talent.
- 24:12Speaker 3: He could run and he goes and gets it. There's
- 24:15Speaker 3: a guy that I remember when we talked about him.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I don't remember if you did him his tape in college.
- 24:21Speaker 3: But this Ryan florinay kid Floros, a kid is playing.
- 24:25Speaker 5: He's playing a lot. What year did he come out?
- 24:27Speaker 2: Two years ago?
- 24:28Speaker 1: I think out of Southwest Missouri State, if I'm not mistaken.
- 24:32Speaker 5: In twenty twenty three draft.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Florinoy was last year. Actually yeah, out of South you
- 24:37Speaker 3: got it right, Southeast Missouri state. Yeah, he twentys a
- 24:40Speaker 3: great job. What's that twenty twenty four draft? Yes, six
- 24:44Speaker 3: round pick. Yeah, he came out it like that's a
- 24:46Speaker 3: great job of scouting. Yeah, that there was a good
- 24:49Speaker 3: basket who can did? Where did that was?
- 24:51Speaker 4: Andrew Tony Southeast Louisiana. There was a But there's a
- 24:53Speaker 4: player the.
- 24:54Speaker 5: NFL, Ryan Florinoy coming out.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Okay, but he's he's he plays, man, he he plays
- 25:01Speaker 3: sometimes when they go eleven, Greg, I mean it's oh no,
- 25:03Speaker 3: he plays a lot.
- 25:04Speaker 4: So he's over.
- 25:05Speaker 1: He has overtaken Jalen Tolbert as that outside receiver when
- 25:09Speaker 1: they move Lamb inside.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Yes, okay, what does FLOROI look to you? Like to
- 25:14Speaker 4: you on tape?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Uh?
- 25:17Speaker 5: You know, FLORINOI is a guy that I don't notice
- 25:19Speaker 5: a ton I mean he's you know, because I look
- 25:23Speaker 5: more at Lamb and pickings. But he plays. So I
- 25:28Speaker 5: don't have a great answer, but he plays. You know,
- 25:30Speaker 5: he's sort of become their third receiver.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Are they still an alternate team that goes between eleven
- 25:37Speaker 1: and twelve? Or are they a little bit more heavier
- 25:40Speaker 1: one way lately than the other.
- 25:43Speaker 5: The Cowboys, I'll tell you that in a second, because
- 25:46Speaker 5: you know, I think they play a good amount of twelve,
- 25:49Speaker 5: but they don't play like a ridiculous amount of twelve. Right,
- 25:53Speaker 5: So yeah, they're twelve personnel this year has been seventeen
- 25:56Speaker 5: percent of their snaps, so they're sixty five percent an
- 26:00Speaker 5: eleven personnel. So they're still heavy. The word i'd use
- 26:02Speaker 5: is probably predominant. They're predominant eleven personnel offense.
- 26:06Speaker 4: That's shoddy anyway. That's he did the same thing in Seattle. Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like he must have given Schoonmaker a
- 26:13Speaker 1: shot early and then it just didn't happen and he went.
- 26:16Speaker 3: It had worked for the point of the Schoonmaker. Jeff,
- 26:19Speaker 3: I just remember being shocked and he went in the
- 26:21Speaker 3: second round. I think a lot of people around the
- 26:23Speaker 3: league were he's kind of like an athletic why, but
- 26:25Speaker 3: he's a why and you don't really draft wise in
- 26:27Speaker 3: the second round.
- 26:27Speaker 5: By the way, I just happen to pull out my
- 26:29Speaker 5: qu on Mitchell evaluation coming out of Toledo. Yeah, so
- 26:33Speaker 5: my last line was overall, Mitchell has all the needed
- 26:35Speaker 5: traits to develop into a high level NFL outside corner,
- 26:38Speaker 5: and I expect he would come off the board in
- 26:40Speaker 5: the first round.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Now, did you have now one thing?
- 26:44Speaker 3: Okay, since you brought it up, as you know, Greg,
- 26:45Speaker 3: because we talked about this with you when we were
- 26:48Speaker 3: doing draft coverage. The one problem that clubs had and
- 26:51Speaker 3: I understand he was at the Senior Bowl. We played
- 26:53Speaker 3: some man there, but that's you know, that's not a
- 26:56Speaker 3: lot of experience. Did you have any problem with the
- 26:59Speaker 3: lack of man coverage for him?
- 27:00Speaker 4: Straight up? Well?
- 27:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the bottom line is is he rarely
- 27:03Speaker 5: played it. He was an off coverage corner at Toledo.
- 27:06Speaker 5: So you know, it's funny with guys like that because
- 27:11Speaker 5: of his physical traits, you think he can do it.
- 27:14Speaker 5: You just didn't see it. It doesn't mean he can't
- 27:17Speaker 5: do it. Sure, you didn't see it, right, So you know,
- 27:20Speaker 5: in my weakness and it wasn't a weakness per se,
- 27:23Speaker 5: but I said, we'll need to improve playing press man
- 27:26Speaker 5: because he didn't do very much of it, and therefore
- 27:28Speaker 5: he wasn't great at it, but he certainly had the traits.
- 27:32Speaker 5: I mean, that was I mean, my first line is
- 27:35Speaker 5: Mitchell is one of the most athletically gifted corners in
- 27:37Speaker 5: the twenty twenty four NFL Draft, with his desirable size, speed, physicality, competitiveness, profile,
- 27:43Speaker 5: I mean, everything is there.
- 27:45Speaker 4: You know.
- 27:46Speaker 5: It's like, I'll give you an example. It's like Caleb Downs, Okay,
- 27:49Speaker 5: who's likely to be a top ten, top twelve picket
- 27:52Speaker 5: safety you know, from Ohio State, and he doesn't play
- 27:57Speaker 5: He's not asked in Matt Patricia's defense, to play much
- 28:00Speaker 5: man coverage, but he clearly has the physical and athletic
- 28:03Speaker 5: traits to do so, you know. So you know, so
- 28:06Speaker 5: all you can say is you didn't see him do it.
- 28:08Speaker 5: You're not going to say he can't do it. Sure,
- 28:11Speaker 5: you know, he just doesn't asked to do him very
- 28:13Speaker 5: much of it.
- 28:14Speaker 3: And that's why Jim Naggie told us Greg he came
- 28:17Speaker 3: on our show and he's, now.
- 28:18Speaker 4: What's going to go to He's at Oklahoma Okay, Okay,
- 28:21Speaker 4: he's a GM there.
- 28:22Speaker 3: But when he ran the Senior Bowl we had Jim on,
- 28:24Speaker 3: he said, look, clubs wanted to see him play corner.
- 28:27Speaker 3: I mean, I want to play man because for him
- 28:30Speaker 3: to be a first round pick, he's going to have
- 28:31Speaker 3: to show it.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Now, he did. It is interesting. It is Toledo is
- 28:35Speaker 4: the MAC.
- 28:35Speaker 3: You could debate how good that that conference is, but
- 28:38Speaker 3: his tape was so smooth and and and Jeff I
- 28:40Speaker 3: said it back to you.
- 28:42Speaker 4: He's not just one of the best young corners of
- 28:44Speaker 4: the league.
- 28:44Speaker 5: That's one of the best corners, one of the best
- 28:46Speaker 5: corners that that's that's going to be a fascinating matchup,
- 28:49Speaker 5: really fascinating matchup.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I think he's making a very very I mean the
- 28:53Speaker 1: very least Pro Bowl. I think he's making a very
- 28:55Speaker 1: strong case for All Pro. And I don't want to
- 28:58Speaker 1: get too far ahead of myself, but the season continues
- 29:00Speaker 1: the way it has for the last few weeks, and
- 29:02Speaker 1: the Eagles keep winning these low scoring games and they
- 29:05Speaker 1: make it to the super Bowl. I mean, that's how
- 29:07Speaker 1: Patrick's retain won Defensive Player of the Year last year
- 29:10Speaker 1: on a team that had a struggling offense. And there's
- 29:12Speaker 1: certainly an argument that will be able to be made
- 29:15Speaker 1: for Quentin Ya Mitchell to be in that discussion. This
- 29:19Speaker 1: is a heavyweight fight this week. This is yeah time,
- 29:22Speaker 1: first pick this is Pickens issues.
- 29:25Speaker 5: And we'll get the matchup because Pickens is the bat.
- 29:27Speaker 5: You know, it's not one of those where, gee, might
- 29:29Speaker 5: we get it five times or you know, we're going
- 29:32Speaker 5: to get it.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to get.
- 29:33Speaker 5: It probably twenty plus times in this game where they're
- 29:37Speaker 5: head to head.
- 29:37Speaker 2: And if I'm not mistaken, that's how it went week one.
- 29:40Speaker 3: They got Jackson week one and they got Jackson. Got
- 29:44Speaker 3: Jackson pretty good. We'll see what happens.
- 29:45Speaker 1: So that's that's a good talking point for some Whatever
- 29:49Speaker 1: they did conceptually on offense, they were able to get
- 29:53Speaker 1: Ceedee Lamb matched up against adri Jackson in week one,
- 29:56Speaker 1: so they must have either had him outside or used
- 29:59Speaker 1: a lot.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Of O.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Shot. He's he's a good cord I mean, I know
- 30:04Speaker 5: he's the head coach, but it's his offense. He's a
- 30:07Speaker 5: good coordinator. I mean, he knows how to run an offense.
- 30:10Speaker 5: This will be interesting.
- 30:12Speaker 4: I mean the.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Cowboys, when I watch their tape, you know, the key
- 30:16Speaker 5: thing is protection because Prescott basically at this point in
- 30:20Speaker 5: his career, he is a pocket quarterback. He's a ball distributor.
- 30:24Speaker 5: He's an executor. That's what Prescott is at this point,
- 30:27Speaker 5: and he's good at it, you know. But obviously it's
- 30:31Speaker 5: there's two things going on here with the Eagles defense
- 30:33Speaker 5: number one, Phillips has given them a quicker pass rush
- 30:38Speaker 5: because most of their pass rush prior was not quick wins.
- 30:43Speaker 5: It was a function of coverage more than the rush itself.
- 30:46Speaker 5: They weren't getting quick wins. They were getting secondary sacks. Yes, okay,
- 30:50Speaker 5: Now with Phillips they can get quicker wins. But it
- 30:54Speaker 5: always goes together, and they do such a good job
- 30:57Speaker 5: on the back end with even in man. You know,
- 31:00Speaker 5: a lot of teams now because I've been studying this
- 31:04Speaker 5: and I've read some really good quotes by some coordinators
- 31:08Speaker 5: when they ask good questions and they give good answers,
- 31:12Speaker 5: that there's a lot of sort of hybrid coverages now
- 31:15Speaker 5: where teams might play man on the outside, you know,
- 31:18Speaker 5: match the outside play zone on the inside, you know,
- 31:21Speaker 5: play man on one side, zone on the other. There's
- 31:24Speaker 5: a lot of hybrid coverages. It's not like it was
- 31:26Speaker 5: years ago where I just pop on the tape and go,
- 31:28Speaker 5: oh yeah, that's cover three. You know, that's this, that's
- 31:30Speaker 5: that you know, And to be honest, there's times I
- 31:34Speaker 5: have no idea because you know, they're doing multiple things
- 31:37Speaker 5: on the same play and I'm not in their meetings.
- 31:40Speaker 5: So I don't know how it's coached. I don't know
- 31:41Speaker 5: what they're asking guys to do. But teams are definitely,
- 31:45Speaker 5: you know, not every play. Obviously, some plays, Hey, that's man,
- 31:48Speaker 5: it's obvious, you know. But there's a lot more and
- 31:51Speaker 5: the Eagles are really good at this. And the one
- 31:53Speaker 5: thing the Eagles do, which is why linebackers and safeties
- 31:56Speaker 5: are so critical in Vic's defense, is they make adjustment
- 32:00Speaker 5: on every play. It's almost the Nick Sabman thing. You know,
- 32:03Speaker 5: there's an adjustment on every play.
- 32:06Speaker 4: You know.
- 32:06Speaker 5: They don't just line up and play.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Right right now.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Hey, Hey, I wrote this on Philly Voice and after
- 32:13Speaker 1: watching the last two games rewatching them on defense, and
- 32:17Speaker 1: I think it's obviously it's very accurate and fair to say.
- 32:20Speaker 1: The addition of Jalen Phillips has really made such a
- 32:23Speaker 1: huge impact in the Eagles pass rush and has allowed
- 32:25Speaker 1: Vic Fangio to do more on the back end and
- 32:28Speaker 1: what he wants to do. But I don't think we
- 32:30Speaker 1: can talk enough about the impact of Nikobe Dean as.
- 32:34Speaker 4: A pass rusher.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I agree with Dad on the ultimate four man rush.
- 32:38Speaker 1: This guy has blown up in the past two weeks.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs and David Montgomery. And he's also gotten past
- 32:45Speaker 1: some pretty good guards in this league one on one
- 32:48Speaker 1: when it's when when you know if they're protecting that way.
- 32:51Speaker 2: To cause pressure.
- 32:52Speaker 4: He is.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I know, he doesn't rush the passer twenty times a
- 32:55Speaker 1: game like Jalen Phillips. But his win rate over the
- 32:57Speaker 1: last two weeks enormous.
- 33:00Speaker 2: That's incredible.
- 33:02Speaker 5: I mean, look, we did some research and I'm going
- 33:05Speaker 5: to grab my notes here.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Oh, I like it. Adam Gregg's got some research this.
- 33:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I would like that. It's gonna be fun.
- 33:12Speaker 5: My Eagles defense notes.
- 33:13Speaker 4: They got so many notes because this is this is
- 33:15Speaker 4: what I do.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:18Speaker 4: You're not a chef.
- 33:18Speaker 5: I didn't know that. No, no, no, no, I do
- 33:21Speaker 5: that my spare time.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Oh the last.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Day, he's in the kitchen. You mean he's watching film
- 33:26Speaker 1: now right right?
- 33:27Speaker 5: So over the last five games, past five weeks, the
- 33:31Speaker 5: Eagles have allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete only fifty five
- 33:35Speaker 5: point two percent of their passes in today's NFL. That
- 33:38Speaker 5: is like in the old days, guys completing twenty five percent.
- 33:42Speaker 5: You know, I mean, this is that's remarkable. I mean
- 33:44Speaker 5: you should just look to see how many guys are
- 33:46Speaker 5: like sixty nine percent plus in the league this year.
- 33:48Speaker 5: So if you're allowing fifty five percent, that's crazy, you know. So,
- 33:53Speaker 5: I mean that's and that's a function of like I said,
- 33:56Speaker 5: how they make adjustments literally on every play. They don't
- 33:58Speaker 5: just line up and play.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and right by what I got some not too.
- 34:03Speaker 5: That's great as Dean has been, you know, just the
- 34:05Speaker 5: physical part. We spoke about this last week about why
- 34:08Speaker 5: he plays and Campbell plays last. The mental part is
- 34:11Speaker 5: a really critical piece here. That's the other reason he's
- 34:14Speaker 5: playing twice as many snaps as Campbell.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Now, awesome.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Here's some stats I compile greg that are probably in
- 34:21Speaker 1: the same timeframe as you. Since Week five, Egles allowed
- 34:24Speaker 1: eighteen point eight points per game.
- 34:25Speaker 2: That's six.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Their opponent completion percentage is fifty six point four like
- 34:30Speaker 1: you mentioned, that's that's like twenty five percent in the
- 34:33Speaker 1: old days, right. Passer rating against them is seventy seven
- 34:35Speaker 1: and a half. That's second best. Opposing opponents are converting
- 34:39Speaker 1: third downs at a forty two point four percent clip.
- 34:42Speaker 1: That's tenth yards for play, five point oh nine, top ten,
- 34:46Speaker 1: so they are and touchdowns per game is two.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Exactly here's one more which is really good. Last five
- 34:51Speaker 5: weeks I did at the study in the last five weeks. Yeah,
- 34:54Speaker 5: last five weeks, yards per passive tenth, which is a
- 34:58Speaker 5: stat that a lot of people look at it, including
- 35:01Speaker 5: the league, not just you know, media and fans. And
- 35:04Speaker 5: six point six over the last five games, which is
- 35:07Speaker 5: really excellent.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Wow, they want to be under seven. That's the that's
- 35:12Speaker 4: the line. That's really excellent. Yeah. Yeah, if you're under seven,
- 35:14Speaker 4: that's what that's what your goal is.
- 35:16Speaker 1: By the way, last three weeks, yards allowed per play
- 35:19Speaker 1: not just pass per play is four point sixty eight.
- 35:22Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's they're they're I mean, they're.
- 35:25Speaker 5: The defense is playing at a really high level. This
- 35:27Speaker 5: will be a challenge for sure. It's on the road,
- 35:30Speaker 5: and you know, the other factor is that the Cowboys
- 35:32Speaker 5: do have a balanced offense. I mean, they they're they're
- 35:35Speaker 5: more of a passing team than a running team. But
- 35:37Speaker 5: they're not just let's toss it all over the r
- 35:39Speaker 5: team by any means. You know, Javonte Williams is a hard,
- 35:43Speaker 5: hard runner. This year, he's looked more like he did
- 35:45Speaker 5: when he came out of college in North Carolina. When
- 35:47Speaker 5: I loved his tape because he was so physical and
- 35:50Speaker 5: competitive and well, you wouldn't call him juicy. He's not
- 35:53Speaker 5: slow in plotting by any means. Sure, So you know,
- 35:57Speaker 5: they do have a combination offense. They Ferguson's a solid
- 36:01Speaker 5: tight end, not necessarily a vertical guy, but he's a
- 36:05Speaker 5: good player. They you know, like I said, they don't
- 36:07Speaker 5: play a ton of twelve. But but scoon Maker is
- 36:10Speaker 5: not a bad tight end at all. So there's a
- 36:13Speaker 5: lot of weapons here on the on their offense, and
- 36:15Speaker 5: I think the key issue will be pass protection very much.
- 36:19Speaker 1: So do you think I know, you said the offensive
- 36:20Speaker 1: line hasn't been great all year, but.
- 36:22Speaker 5: They've also been up and down. You know, Yeah, it's
- 36:25Speaker 5: been up and down. I think Steele, you know, I know,
- 36:27Speaker 5: he's been there for a number of years, and I
- 36:29Speaker 5: think they paid him a couple of.
- 36:30Speaker 4: Years ago of acl.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he's one of those guys that you know,
- 36:34Speaker 5: in one on one pass protection in any given game
- 36:37Speaker 5: that can be a bit of an issue.
- 36:39Speaker 4: And I think.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Phillips that that, to me is going to be fascinating
- 36:42Speaker 5: because what will the Cowboys do if Steele struggles?
- 36:46Speaker 2: Great question, They're going to have to protect him. If
- 36:48Speaker 2: he does, you.
- 36:49Speaker 5: Don't have a pass me, you can't protect It's that.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to flip the other side of the
- 36:53Speaker 4: ball real quick.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean, I mean we've we've talked someone.
- 36:56Speaker 1: We did talk a little bit about not having lane,
- 36:58Speaker 1: about the offensive line and in general what this pass offense.
- 37:02Speaker 1: But look like I do, I feel like we're getting
- 37:05Speaker 1: to a now or never point on at least trying
- 37:07Speaker 1: to do some different things conceptually. I'm not saying going crazy.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I mean, we know they run the third least amount
- 37:14Speaker 1: of emotional league, the fourth least amount of play action.
- 37:17Speaker 1: But add another thing, like at some point you can't
- 37:20Speaker 1: just rely on but we win games and you've got
- 37:23Speaker 1: to at least open it up in a way or
- 37:26Speaker 1: change a little bit of your.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Route concepts and designs. Yeah, so you're not comfortable, like uncomfortable.
- 37:33Speaker 2: See what happens?
- 37:34Speaker 4: Well, here here's the thing.
- 37:35Speaker 3: I know the Cowboys at front should be improved with
- 37:37Speaker 3: after the trades, but their secondary.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Is they're being torched.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I mean, if you look at yards per play, you
- 37:44Speaker 3: look at a lot of metrics that teams use. Yeah,
- 37:47Speaker 3: yards per pass at ten seven to nine is bad.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Fourth most passing yards. They gave up worst arts per
- 37:54Speaker 3: target the National FOOTB League over ten it's terrible.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Seventeen that's right, by the way. Seventeen touch downs just
- 38:01Speaker 4: the receivers. Jeff, I'm not I'm not.
- 38:05Speaker 5: Gonna be the one to sit here and say, boy,
- 38:07Speaker 5: this is a really good defense. But they've got better
- 38:09Speaker 5: people now. They had a major rotation at linebacker. It
- 38:12Speaker 5: was very interesting because now Logan Wilson is there. The
- 38:15Speaker 5: rookie James is a pretty interesting guy. I did him
- 38:18Speaker 5: coming out of Florida. He's very athletic. He's getting more
- 38:20Speaker 5: snaps and Revel is going to be Is it Revel
- 38:23Speaker 5: or Revel? I think it's revelvn Right. I think I
- 38:29Speaker 5: think it's Revel. I did him coming out in the
- 38:32Speaker 5: four games he played last year before he got hurt.
- 38:33Speaker 5: I even went back and looked a little bit the
- 38:35Speaker 5: year before. He's a really interesting player. He played fourteen
- 38:38Speaker 5: snaps this week. That what what they did when they
- 38:41Speaker 5: brought him in. See what they do when they're when
- 38:46Speaker 5: he's not in Okay is Bland is their boundary corner.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Carson was their field corner, and they played Stewart as
- 38:53Speaker 5: their slot. When Revel came in, Bland moved inside to
- 38:57Speaker 5: the slot where quite frankly, he's better because he's not
- 38:59Speaker 5: very good on the outside. And I know they paid
- 39:01Speaker 5: him a ton of money because he had that big
- 39:04Speaker 5: year of interceptions, but he's really not that good a
- 39:06Speaker 5: corner on the outside and he's better in the slot.
- 39:10Speaker 5: So I would expect Revel to get more snaps, just,
- 39:14Speaker 5: you know, just from watching tape. Again, I don't know
- 39:16Speaker 5: their plan. I don't know what happens during the week.
- 39:18Speaker 5: I don't know anything else other than sitting and watching
- 39:21Speaker 5: the snaps. And to me, Revel should play more snaps
- 39:24Speaker 5: on the outside and Bland should be playing on the inside.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I will question off that.
- 39:28Speaker 3: So Kenth Murray, we've talked about him for like seven
- 39:30Speaker 3: years a lot, I know.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Here's the question.
- 39:33Speaker 3: So it looked like because overshown started this game, is
- 39:37Speaker 3: Wilson and Murray splitting snaps?
- 39:39Speaker 5: They all they played a bunch of guys, and I didn't.
- 39:42Speaker 5: I didn't chart it to the point where I tried
- 39:43Speaker 5: to see who played with who. Adam Wilson played, James played,
- 39:47Speaker 5: Murray played, over shown played, uh laugh though played. We've
- 39:52Speaker 5: talked about him all played like five or six linebackers.
- 39:55Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Think the Eagles are doing something weird just by playing
- 39:58Speaker 1: three and they're playing I.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Know, But Jeff Greg's point is well taken since look,
- 40:04Speaker 3: yes the numbers are bad, but over time they've had
- 40:07Speaker 3: they've got a ton of players back from the injury.
- 40:09Speaker 3: They've made these trades. Now, obviously you got a gel
- 40:11Speaker 3: get chemistry.
- 40:12Speaker 4: I get that. You know, it's it's a defense of
- 40:15Speaker 4: Maybe by week sixteen is really good.
- 40:16Speaker 3: We'll see, but their matchups here now we will see
- 40:20Speaker 3: about jurgons, but they got to be able to protect.
- 40:22Speaker 3: I just have a feeling, and I know we're going
- 40:24Speaker 3: to talk about it soon. This might be one of
- 40:26Speaker 3: those games. We did it last year. I think we
- 40:28Speaker 3: all I know, I know I did. I think Greg
- 40:30Speaker 3: might have said it for the Pittsburgh game. Yeah, I
- 40:32Speaker 3: got a feeling like this, there might be some passing
- 40:34Speaker 3: in this game. And Shot he likes to pass it.
- 40:36Speaker 3: He was the he was the brains behind let Russ
- 40:38Speaker 3: Cooker twenty twenty. Yeah, if Pete Carleton shut him down,
- 40:41Speaker 3: he would have he would have cooked the entire season.
- 40:42Speaker 2: So, I I mean, it's not bold to say that
- 40:44Speaker 2: Dallas is going to pass. I got the number one
- 40:46Speaker 2: pass offense.
- 40:46Speaker 4: It's the you know they're going to pass it. The
- 40:48Speaker 4: thing is, can the Eagles get in a pass fest.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I know they don't want to do it, I get it,
- 40:52Speaker 3: but they also don't run it very well the Eagles.
- 40:55Speaker 2: That's true, amazingly.
- 40:56Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean it's almost impossible to figure out the
- 40:59Speaker 5: Eagles offense to me right now as to what they're
- 41:01Speaker 5: going to do. You know that. I mean, look, the
- 41:04Speaker 5: bottom line is, up to this point in the season,
- 41:06Speaker 5: they've not run it particularly well. They've not thrown it
- 41:08Speaker 5: particularly well.
- 41:09Speaker 4: You know.
- 41:10Speaker 5: The big question we spoke about, and Adam, I know
- 41:13Speaker 5: you're under the weather so you aren't part of doing
- 41:15Speaker 5: a Monday show. But the question I kept saying, and
- 41:19Speaker 5: I don't know the answer, is why why does their
- 41:22Speaker 5: past game look like this? You know, people can say
- 41:25Speaker 5: what they want about Nick Sirianni or Kevin Petullo. You know,
- 41:27Speaker 5: I've been around enough coaches, some of you guys. They
- 41:30Speaker 5: all know ball. Okay, they all know ball. So why
- 41:34Speaker 5: is their past game so remedial and elementary?
- 41:37Speaker 4: I mean, it's.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Obviously intentional, I agree with. Yeah, The question is how
- 41:43Speaker 1: much longer. Are they willing to stick with this intent
- 41:47Speaker 1: and not see the results that they want without thinking
- 41:49Speaker 1: that they have to be uncomfortable or unintentional or do
- 41:53Speaker 1: things that are outside their comfort zone. And we all understand,
- 41:58Speaker 1: because you don't want to be reaction in sports, right
- 42:00Speaker 1: You never want to do it because it finally stopped working,
- 42:04Speaker 1: because then you can get into a tailspin. You want
- 42:06Speaker 1: to be able to be adaptive in the middle of winning.
- 42:09Speaker 5: But here's the flip side, and these are un indisputable points, okay,
- 42:13Speaker 5: And this is why this conversation, even though it should
- 42:17Speaker 5: be had in the building, gets shut down by many
- 42:20Speaker 5: median by many fans. Jalen Hurts has twenty two total
- 42:23Speaker 5: touchdowns and only two turnovers. That's remarkable, Okay. Jalen Hurts
- 42:28Speaker 5: is a Super Bowl champion and a Super Bowl MVP.
- 42:31Speaker 5: The Eagles are eight and two. When you say that
- 42:34Speaker 5: you can have any conversation you want, but at the
- 42:36Speaker 5: end of the day, that can shut it right down.
- 42:38Speaker 5: And we all understand that. You know, but if you're
- 42:41Speaker 5: looking at tape and being a purist about football, it's
- 42:44Speaker 5: it's a difficult watch. And like you said, and Jeff,
- 42:48Speaker 5: your points one hundred percent correct, and it's the right one.
- 42:50Speaker 5: What they're doing is intentional. It's not that Nick Ciriana
- 42:54Speaker 5: or Kevin toolet doesn't know ball they're doing. This is
- 42:57Speaker 5: intentional and I just don't know why.
- 43:00Speaker 4: Well, funny you say this, Greg is last year we
- 43:03Speaker 4: were saying this a lot on this ship pre game
- 43:05Speaker 4: and inside the tape. Look, Greg would know. It's not
- 43:09Speaker 4: like he's looking at social media. No, I'm joking.
- 43:12Speaker 3: But they got on Greg because he's being honest about
- 43:14Speaker 3: the offense. Les Sir Kellen Moore struggled a bit last season.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Let's call it like it is.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Yeah, first five weeks were not good.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Well, other than the Green Bay game was terrible for
- 43:21Speaker 3: a while. Started the Atlanta game. Yeah, but it's funny
- 43:25Speaker 3: and then they like hurts, how that amazing game and
- 43:28Speaker 3: what it hurts? Say after the Pittsburgh game, Well they
- 43:31Speaker 3: took check it off right, So.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Okay, on Greg's point, excuse me, maybe they do that.
- 43:37Speaker 4: This is this could be the game.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I know that Dallas has had some talent here, but
- 43:41Speaker 3: to me, if you can protect, it's not you have
- 43:44Speaker 3: to throw the ball forty times, it's when you throw.
- 43:46Speaker 4: He should be more successful.
- 43:48Speaker 5: I agree, I would just I mean again, now I'm
- 43:51Speaker 5: talking about tape purely tape, and what I'm saying is
- 43:54Speaker 5: not you know, it's just what I see. What you
- 43:57Speaker 5: don't see in Eagles offense is you don't see a
- 43:59Speaker 5: lot of motion. You don't see stacks, you don't see bunches.
- 44:02Speaker 5: You don't see a lot of two and three man
- 44:04Speaker 5: route combinations that attack zone coverage and put defenders in conflict.
- 44:08Speaker 5: You don't see a lot of man to man. Beatter
- 44:10Speaker 5: route concepts allow receivers to get open quick, so the
- 44:14Speaker 5: ball so Jalen can see it quick and get rid
- 44:16Speaker 5: of it. You don't see those things in the Eagles offense.
- 44:19Speaker 5: And there's no question that these guys know about these concepts.
- 44:22Speaker 5: I mean, that's not even a questions on them. But Greg,
- 44:24Speaker 5: that's you don't have to say it, I'll say it.
- 44:26Speaker 5: That's on them to help him more.
- 44:27Speaker 3: I've talked to coaches about this, right right, when your
- 44:30Speaker 3: quarterback is holding on the football, you give them what
- 44:33Speaker 3: are called layups. Okay, this is this is from coaches
- 44:35Speaker 3: that I've talked to. They all say they have their
- 44:37Speaker 3: they have like their terms of course openers for the
- 44:40Speaker 3: game I'm gonna get I'm gonna come out thrown a
- 44:42Speaker 3: little bit because I want him to feel good about himself.
- 44:45Speaker 3: That's coaching. And this is where Syrian and Patulla control
- 44:48Speaker 3: this part. N't control Okay, when it hurts, uesn't process. Well,
- 44:52Speaker 3: that's on the quarterback. They need to help them. But
- 44:54Speaker 3: there's things you can do to help your correct just
- 44:56Speaker 3: outline it, help them.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I don't know, I'll say this.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I've you know, all of us have come across a
- 45:03Speaker 1: lot of quarterbacks or people who play quarterback in our lives, right,
- 45:06Speaker 1: and they're all different kind of guys. And I've come
- 45:09Speaker 1: across some who I felt were entitled or hard to code,
- 45:13Speaker 1: or i've heard or hard to coach.
- 45:14Speaker 2: So whatever you want to say about Jaalen hurts, that's
- 45:16Speaker 2: out there.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I've never met one yet that didn't like an open receiver,
- 45:20Speaker 1: a free shot at a good receiver. So to your point,
- 45:23Speaker 1: no matter what it's being said about Jailen, if you
- 45:25Speaker 1: if you gave him a concept where you know there's
- 45:28Speaker 1: gonna be an easy, defined read and did it a
- 45:30Speaker 1: few more times, and it's something new, Like I know
- 45:32Speaker 1: they're already doing that with some of their stuff.
- 45:34Speaker 2: But if you add a little more.
- 45:36Speaker 1: When's the last time have we ever seen a four
- 45:38Speaker 1: strong concept by the eagle?
- 45:40Speaker 5: Right? Yeah, I mean that's the kind of stuff I'm
- 45:42Speaker 5: talking about.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Yeah, if you just put it out there and look,
- 45:45Speaker 1: if you do that and it still fails, Okay, but
- 45:49Speaker 1: I think we just haven't yet seen that attempt to
- 45:51Speaker 1: really try something that's back.
- 45:55Speaker 5: To the.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Right. But Jeff, I'd say this and Greg, Greg's a
- 45:59Speaker 4: per example.
- 46:00Speaker 3: So when we do inside the tape, he'll point out
- 46:02Speaker 3: games and it hurts isn't seeing it.
- 46:04Speaker 4: He's not put on the trigger.
- 46:05Speaker 3: But also we have times recently where we're looking at
- 46:09Speaker 3: this thing and we're all agreeing, and other people we've
- 46:11Speaker 3: talked to around the league and watching the egles takes
- 46:13Speaker 3: of the same thing.
- 46:14Speaker 4: What is this? What are you trying to do? And
- 46:16Speaker 4: what are you how are you helping your quarterback? Right? Okay,
- 46:19Speaker 4: let we're here to be honest and help people learn.
- 46:21Speaker 3: We focus on education, not about you know, all the
- 46:26Speaker 3: social media, but we're trying to help people watch support
- 46:28Speaker 3: our show guys on YouTube, Patreon people. We'll have Greg
- 46:31Speaker 3: by the way on Tuesday night and Greg said it
- 46:33Speaker 3: was an amazing I watched the session.
- 46:36Speaker 5: With It was great. I love those guys ask phenomenal questions.
- 46:39Speaker 4: It was great and we focus on education.
- 46:41Speaker 3: But I know this for covering this business twenty seven
- 46:44Speaker 3: years talking to quarterbacks and and coordinators. Your job has

- 49:21Speaker 1: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up. All right,
- 49:25Speaker 1: the Eagles are three and a half point favorites in
- 49:29Speaker 1: Dallas in this game.
- 49:30Speaker 2: With actually high over under.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Maybe they are expecting a little bit more from the
- 49:35Speaker 1: Eagles offensively because the over under is forty seven and
- 49:38Speaker 1: a half, which is pretty interesting considered you could probably
- 49:41Speaker 1: total up their last three games and not get to
- 49:44Speaker 1: forty seven and a half.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Kid, But let's do it. Let's do what we do
- 49:48Speaker 2: best and predict the winner in the game, the player
- 49:51Speaker 2: of the game for this game.
- 49:52Speaker 5: I'll go first if you want.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yoh, look at you. You're all talking about it.
- 49:56Speaker 4: We've got to shoot.
- 49:58Speaker 5: I don't know why, but I I sort of agree
- 50:01Speaker 5: with Adam here, and I don't know what Adam was
- 50:02Speaker 5: going to pick. I just have a funny feeling it's
- 50:05Speaker 5: going to be one of those games where the Eagles
- 50:07Speaker 5: are going to score in ways we haven't really seen
- 50:09Speaker 5: them score, you know, up to this point, and that
- 50:12Speaker 5: their defense is going to be a big fact. Their
- 50:14Speaker 5: defense is playing at such an incredibly high level right now.
- 50:17Speaker 5: It slightly that you've seen what's that? Okay, you're watching
- 50:22Speaker 5: tape of thirty two teams?
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah the best I know you don't, right, but would
- 50:26Speaker 3: you say certainly up near the top of the tape
- 50:28Speaker 3: watching Oh, without question, that's special.
- 50:31Speaker 4: That's great.
- 50:31Speaker 5: Eagle's playing really well once they got Phillips. With Dean
- 50:35Speaker 5: playing the way he is, Mitchell's playing at an all
- 50:38Speaker 5: pro level. I think mccoob has improved. I mean, you know,
- 50:41Speaker 5: Blanken Chip is just about as steady as they come.
- 50:43Speaker 5: Doesn't make mistakes. Not an impact player the way some
- 50:46Speaker 5: people want a safety to be, but he just doesn't
- 50:49Speaker 5: make mistakes. I just have a feeling this is going
- 50:52Speaker 5: to be like a twenty seven to seventeen Eagles win,
- 50:55Speaker 5: believe it or not, and there and it's just going
- 50:57Speaker 5: to be because it's a game right now where everybody
- 50:59Speaker 5: you know, And We've had a great conversation this week
- 51:02Speaker 5: about talking about the Eagles offense. And I'm not saying
- 51:04Speaker 5: all of a sudden, they're going to look like, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 5: a Ben Johnson offense. But I just feel like something's
- 51:11Speaker 5: gonna click this week better than it has. Not that
- 51:13Speaker 5: Hurts is gonna throw for three ninety and five touchdowns
- 51:15Speaker 5: because they're not going to play that way. But I
- 51:18Speaker 5: just say, yeah, something's gonna click this week, you know,
- 51:21Speaker 5: much like the Steelers game a year ago. And I'm
- 51:24Speaker 5: gonna pick the Eagles to win twenty seven to seventeen.
- 51:27Speaker 5: And I think I'm going to pick Devanta Smith as
- 51:32Speaker 5: the player. Okay, I was going back and forth, you know,
- 51:34Speaker 5: but I think that's what I'm gonna do.
- 51:36Speaker 3: All right, Adam, I'm going Eagles twenty seven, Cal Polks
- 51:41Speaker 3: twenty four, number one quarterback Jailen Hurts. I just I
- 51:45Speaker 3: would love to find what we said before the steel
- 51:47Speaker 3: I'm pretty certain that was the because Greg and I
- 51:50Speaker 3: kept saying this is gonna be with Hurts. It wouldn't happen.
- 51:52Speaker 3: But I remember saying, if it doesn't happen, now I'm done.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I'm never picking with player of the game. And then
- 51:56Speaker 3: he went up playing great, right, I just haven't. And
- 51:58Speaker 3: you know, if you look at Dacton play against Eagles
- 52:01Speaker 3: last year, daks four and two.
- 52:03Speaker 4: Sincerianni's been the head coach. I got a feeling. Now.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Look, I know dallastans of the game. I get it
- 52:08Speaker 3: all these added players, but Eagles are really well coached.
- 52:12Speaker 3: Just something sometimes something happens better on the road for you.
- 52:17Speaker 3: I feel like Eagles will win this game. It's gonna
- 52:19Speaker 3: be tight one. No weather, by the way, thank goodness,
- 52:21Speaker 3: you gonna have to word the damn weather the win.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Who's your player of the game.
- 52:24Speaker 4: It could be Hurts, Hurts, Jalen Hurts. All right.
- 52:27Speaker 1: By the way, do you have do you guys recall
- 52:29Speaker 1: if either of you have picked against the Eagles at
- 52:31Speaker 1: all this year?
- 52:32Speaker 4: I don't think I have.
- 52:35Speaker 2: No. You guys always leave me to be the.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Better one who does and then people kill you on Yeah, well,
- 52:40Speaker 1: I guess that's gonna stay the same as I have
- 52:42Speaker 1: to do a pick each week also for Philly Voice,
- 52:44Speaker 1: so I keep.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Them consistent with this show. And here's what I wrote.
- 52:48Speaker 1: The Eagles have the far better defense, the Cowboys have
- 52:50Speaker 1: the far better offense. But why do the Cowboys have
- 52:54Speaker 1: the far better offense? Because pound for pound, player for player,
- 52:57Speaker 1: the Eagles have as much offensive talent as the Cowboys
- 53:00Speaker 1: do at wide receiver, at running back, for sure, offensive line,
- 53:04Speaker 1: but they just haven't played like it this year, at
- 53:07Speaker 1: any time, and that sort of sticks in my head
- 53:11Speaker 1: when I look at this matchup. It was a very
- 53:12Speaker 1: close game the first time around in Philadelphia, and both
- 53:16Speaker 1: teams are better in different ways. Since I don't have
- 53:19Speaker 1: a great reason, I think the Eagles are the better team.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I think they're gonna better than the Cowboys.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Think they are better than the Cowboys, and they'll win
- 53:25Speaker 1: more games than the Cowboys. But sometimes it's when you
- 53:28Speaker 1: play a team at that time, and this is the
- 53:32Speaker 1: rare time the Eagles have played a team that is
- 53:33Speaker 1: healthier than them. I think the Lane Johnson absence is
- 53:38Speaker 1: pretty glaring.
- 53:39Speaker 4: But Johnson, yeah, we didn't really talk much about it.
- 53:41Speaker 4: That's a big yeah.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Well, I said, Matt Pryor is now the jumbo guy
- 53:44Speaker 1: if they're going to continue to do that, and that's
- 53:46Speaker 1: different to me. So I feel like this will be
- 53:48Speaker 1: a week where the Eagles get caught. I think the
- 53:50Speaker 1: Cowboys have played well against the Eagles in Dallas and
- 53:53Speaker 1: by the way, first time, first time. I think in
- 53:56Speaker 1: their careers that Dak Prescott and jail Ed Hurts will
- 53:59Speaker 1: be on the field against each other for both games
- 54:03Speaker 1: of the series, uh in the season, So that makes
- 54:06Speaker 1: it exciting. But yeah, I did pick the Cowboys in
- 54:08Speaker 1: this game twenty four twenty and I am picking Cede
- 54:13Speaker 1: Lamb have an atonement game for that opener where he
- 54:16Speaker 1: dropped four or five passes.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Oh, I forgot about they It wasn't he dropped a ton,
- 54:21Speaker 3: it was. He may be his worst game, I think five, yeah,
- 54:24Speaker 3: four or.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Five definitely game he he I'll send this.
- 54:29Speaker 4: He owned up to it. He could. He didn't blame anybody.
- 54:31Speaker 4: They were really bad.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Think about how he had a big game and he
- 54:33Speaker 3: could have had probably over two hundred yards. That's why
- 54:35Speaker 3: we said Jackson. They housed him. Yep, they got him
- 54:39Speaker 3: that week and then you know somehow he's starting. But yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 3: all right, so you always have to be the center
- 54:44Speaker 3: it's interesting.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you guys are a bunch of homers.
- 54:47Speaker 2: If I gotta say you never probably.
- 54:49Speaker 4: I just feel like they're they're better coached. I know,
- 54:52Speaker 4: people get killing Siriani.
- 54:54Speaker 2: That's the problem. Like I look for the I agree
- 54:56Speaker 2: with you, they're better.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I said, they're better in every statistical except for obviously offensively.
- 55:01Speaker 2: They're a better team.
- 55:02Speaker 1: But every once in a while, you got to find
- 55:03Speaker 1: the week where they get tripped up, right, Like that's
- 55:06Speaker 1: the whole point of being a good picker, is like
- 55:09Speaker 1: when you get that feeling that you're gonna get tripped
- 55:11Speaker 1: up this week, you know.
- 55:12Speaker 4: One of these weeks are gonna be right one.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Of these Well, I think I picked the Broncos. So
- 55:16Speaker 2: I was the only one of us.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Now, that was a great call. That was an odd game. Yes,
- 55:19Speaker 4: you got it right.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well we'll leave it on that note.
- 55:23Speaker 1: That has been This has been the Inside the Birds
- 55:26Speaker 1: pregame show with Greg co Sol for Greg co Sell
- 55:28Speaker 1: and Adam Kaplan.
- 55:29Speaker 2: I'm Jeff Mosher.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Catch you all on the next one.
