- 0:10Speaker 2: It is time to believe your warriors outside and laugh
- 0:14Speaker 2: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Mallley along with
- 0:17Speaker 2: Trey Trindholm coming up inside the Treehouse today. The Pope
- 0:24Speaker 2: versus customer service a Hawaii beat down for the ages.
- 0:36Speaker 2: But today inside the Treehouse, we have to actually start
- 0:38Speaker 2: with some very sad news. Been a lot of sad
- 0:42Speaker 2: news coming out of the Treehouse lately. I wish that
- 0:47Speaker 2: was not the case, but you know, sometimes life has
- 0:49Speaker 2: a way of getting in the way. So just a
- 0:56Speaker 2: handful of days ago, our dear Trey Trenholm here posted
- 1:00Speaker 2: on social media. When people talk about getting ghosted, I
- 1:05Speaker 2: assumed it was after a couple of dates. Anyone had
- 1:09Speaker 2: it happened to them after six months asking for a friend? Trey,
- 1:16Speaker 2: were you in fact asking for a friend?
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean, I am my best friend especially now. Yeah, oh.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Buddy, oh buddy, I'm I am legitimately sorry.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh, it's been a doozy. I did not
- 1:47Speaker 1: see this one coming. I, honest to god, thought Brandy
- 1:54Speaker 1: was my human, uh my person. I thought that was Uh.
- 2:05Speaker 1: She made me actually not believe I would not have
- 2:09Speaker 1: to kill myself at seventy five because I would have
- 2:12Speaker 1: someone to grow old with. And we never had a fight,
- 2:20Speaker 1: not one time.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Hey there's a silver lion. I mean, so if if
- 2:29Speaker 2: you end up in a relationship in the future and
- 2:32Speaker 2: and or on a on a date and that person
- 2:35Speaker 2: asks you, oh, so, you know, did you have any
- 2:38Speaker 2: like big fight in that last relationship anything? No, not
- 2:41Speaker 2: a single one.
- 2:44Speaker 1: It's not really the point of the story, Daniel. But okay,
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm I'm trying to find.
- 2:48Speaker 2: A positive angle. I'm it's coming back a while. I'm
- 2:51Speaker 2: gonna dig. Yeah, no, it's gonna it's gonna get weird
- 2:53Speaker 2: in spots. But we never even had a disagreement. Really,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I I can't even And we spent a lot. That
- 3:03Speaker 2: was since the ice storm in January. I would say
- 3:07Speaker 2: we spent at least five nights a week together.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Wow. And when I say spent, I mean like she's
- 3:15Speaker 1: spent the night over here. And let me just so
- 3:18Speaker 1: anyone's thinking I offered to go to her place. She
- 3:21Speaker 1: did not. She liked coming over here, so this wasn't
- 3:23Speaker 1: a deal. If she was having to come over here,
- 3:25Speaker 1: because I refused or anything like that, and I don't.
- 3:31Speaker 1: We seldom even if she for some reason she wasn't
- 3:35Speaker 1: going to spend the night we sell them when a
- 3:37Speaker 1: day without seeing one another. And I I loved hanging
- 3:45Speaker 1: out with her. We watched hockey and the Food Network,
- 3:47Speaker 1: and I loved cooking for I watched her dog, you know, especially,
- 3:52Speaker 1: it was nice to have around since Daisy died and
- 3:57Speaker 1: we were everything start, we were planning, you know, the
- 4:01Speaker 1: plan was we were going to move in together, and
- 4:06Speaker 1: so on a couple of weeks ago, on a Saturday,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we were sitting around, we were about to watch the
- 4:13Speaker 1: Stars playoff game one of them, and I said, hey,
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'd sent her a link to an apartment, say hey,
- 4:20Speaker 1: do you want to go look at places tomorrow? And
- 4:23Speaker 1: she just she goes, I don't want to move in together.
- 4:26Speaker 1: She's like, I don't. Yeah, I forgot how she put it,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and she's like, I don't want to destruct our relationship,
- 4:33Speaker 1: and I'm with thinking about it and everything else. I'm like, okay,
- 4:37Speaker 1: but it really it took me. I mean it blindsided me,
- 4:44Speaker 1: like I've already given my notice on my place. Things
- 4:48Speaker 1: were set in motion and the rest of the day
- 4:52Speaker 1: I was quiet. She ended up going home that night.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'm sure part of it was because I had gotten
- 4:59Speaker 1: very quiet, and I won't lie. I was hurt, but
- 5:06Speaker 1: I have learned over the years I do not react
- 5:10Speaker 1: in you know, out of emotion. That's why I was quiet.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I didn't want to say anything, didn't want to. And
- 5:16Speaker 1: then I sent her a text the next day and
- 5:19Speaker 1: I said, hey, sorry, I was quiet yesterday. It really
- 5:22Speaker 1: blindsided me that you don't want to move in together.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And I said, I think the bigger thing is I
- 5:28Speaker 1: feel like that's a sign that you know, you have
- 5:30Speaker 1: doubts about the relationship. And I got a text back saying,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you know, I don't like you telling me how I feel.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You know, maybe I just don't think after seven months
- 5:42Speaker 1: it's been enough time for us to move in together.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I said, okay, I said, but you know, I said,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I think my react. I don't think I I'm reading
- 5:55Speaker 1: into your emotion. I said, you didn't tell me how
- 5:58Speaker 1: you're feeling. And to me, it's a logical, it's not
- 6:02Speaker 1: an illogical step to go okay, if you don't want
- 6:04Speaker 1: to move in together, you have questions about our relationship,
- 6:07Speaker 1: because I mean we spend all I mean, we spend
- 6:10Speaker 1: all our time together. It only would make sense if
- 6:13Speaker 1: we were living together. So then she said something and
- 6:17Speaker 1: when we initially started talking about moving in together, she said,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I want a three bedroom place so we each can
- 6:22Speaker 1: have our own room.
- 6:24Speaker 3: It's cool.
- 6:27Speaker 1: We start talking about it, and you know, three bedroom
- 6:28Speaker 1: apartments are not all that common, and we looked at
- 6:36Speaker 1: some places and I said, yeah, we should go look
- 6:37Speaker 1: at it, and said, you know, if it's one of
- 6:39Speaker 1: the things I did not want was carpet or as
- 6:42Speaker 1: little carpet as possible, especially with pets. You know, it's
- 6:45Speaker 1: just and she agreed, and eventually she said, you know what,
- 6:52Speaker 1: we could make a two bedroom work. I said, yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 1: I said, honestly, my use is for the second bedroom
- 6:58Speaker 1: will be in the morning courting, I said, and then
- 7:01Speaker 1: you can have it the rest of the day. And
- 7:06Speaker 1: so that that was really the last time we talked
- 7:08Speaker 1: about the two versus three bedroom. So one of the
- 7:11Speaker 1: things the last message she sent me was that I
- 7:15Speaker 1: was forcing two bedrooms on her and because I wasn't
- 7:19Speaker 1: thinking about her needs, and I clearly I was just
- 7:23Speaker 1: disregarding her wants and needs and she was a healthy
- 7:26Speaker 1: person now and you know, she says, damaged Brandy might
- 7:30Speaker 1: have gone for that, but healthy Brandy is not, which
- 7:33Speaker 1: at no time. In fact, it was very much the opposite.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Had I ever put her needs second, I won't get
- 7:42Speaker 1: into details, but I've been with her like she went
- 7:45Speaker 1: through some stuff. I've been side by side with her
- 7:50Speaker 1: like I'm loving, supporting everything. And to say that, you know,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and I said, I said, you're talking to me like
- 7:57Speaker 1: I've been some controlling monster, and you'd know that's not
- 7:59Speaker 1: the case. But again, that was the last text I
- 8:03Speaker 1: got from her, was that, And it was like, I'm
- 8:06Speaker 1: gonna need a few days to think about this. Never
- 8:09Speaker 1: heard from her again.
- 8:11Speaker 2: How long ago was that?
- 8:16Speaker 1: So we're recording this on two weeks ago today. And
- 8:25Speaker 1: I don't understand how you say you love somebody and
- 8:29Speaker 1: you just ghost them. And when I you know, if
- 8:35Speaker 1: I had been some monster, if we had had some
- 8:37Speaker 1: major blow up, if there was infidelity or something, okay,
- 8:40Speaker 1: but nothing. Yeah, And you know, it's just as much
- 8:48Speaker 1: as I have over the years, I have talked about
- 8:50Speaker 1: and made fun of my proclivity for crazy women and
- 8:53Speaker 1: everything else. I also in being honest, especially I was
- 8:59Speaker 1: an out I was not a good boyfriend. I was
- 9:04Speaker 1: a real pain in the ass. And but I honestly,
- 9:09Speaker 1: when I got into this relationship, I did everything I
- 9:15Speaker 1: could to to be a good boyfriend and be a
- 9:18Speaker 1: good partner, and I really think I was. And that
- 9:25Speaker 1: one of the biggest things I got from her that
- 9:27Speaker 1: I had never gotten before was just gratitude for the
- 9:30Speaker 1: little things I did for they weren't you know, taken
- 9:33Speaker 1: for granted or anything else. And I it was great.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And it's probably the only thing keeping me from losing
- 9:41Speaker 1: my ever loving mind and just spiraling off in complete depression.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Is I at least I don't. I don't have like
- 9:49Speaker 1: I'm not sitting here with remorse going. I wish I'd
- 9:51Speaker 1: done that. I wish I'd done this or that or
- 9:53Speaker 1: anything else. If there was something that was bothering her,
- 9:57Speaker 1: had she just talked to me about it, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 1: barring not talking to my stepmother or changing my religion
- 10:07Speaker 1: or you know, not having pets again or some shit,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I would have been like, Okay, I can do that. Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But I was never you know, afforded that opportunity. It
- 10:17Speaker 1: literally was just like I'm dead to her, and it's
- 10:24Speaker 1: you know, and I have tried, calling, emailing, texting, not never.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I I basically, you know, not blowing her up or
- 10:33Speaker 1: anything of the sorts. And I mean, I think at
- 10:37Speaker 1: the last time I tried to even get in contact
- 10:39Speaker 1: with her, it was a week ago, and I at
- 10:46Speaker 1: this point I figured she blocked my number or some
- 10:48Speaker 1: it's it's the damnedest thing, it really is. I I
- 10:52Speaker 1: will never understand how you say you love somebody. And
- 10:55Speaker 1: I mean, at one point she even talked about, you know,
- 10:58Speaker 1: talking to her therapist about how I was one, you know,
- 11:01Speaker 1: between myself and her brother, we were her pillars, and
- 11:05Speaker 1: that she was, you know, the best. This was the
- 11:08Speaker 1: best she had ever been in her life in this
- 11:11Speaker 1: relationship and where she was right now.
- 11:14Speaker 2: So as it stands, it's been two weeks since you've
- 11:19Speaker 2: heard from her. Would you want to hear from her
- 11:25Speaker 2: now if she reached out, if she sent you a
- 11:27Speaker 2: text or a call. Do you want to hear from
- 11:31Speaker 2: her at this point or is it sort of better
- 11:33Speaker 2: off the way it is now, like message received and
- 11:36Speaker 2: then move on.
- 11:38Speaker 1: That's a great question. And I don't know, I mean,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I guess.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I mean, it's obviously a hypothetical because at this point
- 11:44Speaker 2: there's no reason to assume that she'll ever reach out,
- 11:47Speaker 2: because it's been two weeks and she hasn't. But it's
- 11:51Speaker 2: just something the way my mind works. I try to
- 11:53Speaker 2: prepare myself for things in case they happen. So that's
- 11:58Speaker 2: just where my brain is, and I'm curious if you're
- 12:00Speaker 2: doing the same. It's like, if you thought about that,
- 12:02Speaker 2: do you want.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean, obviously I've thought about it, and I mean
- 12:10Speaker 1: what I what I love for her to call me
- 12:13Speaker 1: up and go, hey, I just freaked out and I'm sorry,
- 12:20Speaker 1: can we figure this out? Yeah? Of course I would.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I would be lying otherwise because I I have never
- 12:29Speaker 1: been in a relationship where I felt comfortable just being
- 12:35Speaker 1: me and uh, and just was very content just having
- 12:39Speaker 1: her next to me. So yeah, of course, you know
- 12:43Speaker 1: if she but barring that, uh, probably not, because I
- 12:55Speaker 1: have always held that closure is a myth. Uh. You know,
- 13:00Speaker 1: we talk about it, but there's never there's no The
- 13:06Speaker 1: only closure really is death. Otherwise you still have questions,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and even in death, you still have questions. But yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I mean, of course, it's.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Just real hard to ask them.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, I would love obviously if the situation
- 13:27Speaker 1: we're right of course I love her. I would still
- 13:29Speaker 1: want her to say, hey, I freaked out. I you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I started overthinking it. I got scared, I freaked out.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Can we figure this out? Yeah? Probably.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I think what is part of what is so fascinating
- 13:46Speaker 2: about this situation is you and I had similar assumptions
- 13:52Speaker 2: about being ghosted, which is like what you posted on
- 13:58Speaker 2: social media by saying getting ghosted was assuming it's after
- 14:02Speaker 2: a few dates or something. And when you asked, has
- 14:08Speaker 2: anyone had it happened to them? After six months, seeing
- 14:12Speaker 2: the number of people respond with yes, hands raised, it's
- 14:17Speaker 2: happened to me, it happened to a friend. I did it. Well,
- 14:20Speaker 2: they actually said that they did it, but the number
- 14:23Speaker 2: of responses of people saying yes, it did happen to
- 14:25Speaker 2: them was truly alarming. I had no like, we've all
- 14:30Speaker 2: heard of ghosting, and many people have been ghosted. I've
- 14:33Speaker 2: been ghosted. I was ghosted so far back we didn't
- 14:35Speaker 2: have a term for it yet, but it was usually
- 14:41Speaker 2: going the early stage, like not after a long committed relationship.
- 14:44Speaker 2: But seeing all these people go, yes, it happened to me.
- 14:47Speaker 2: One person yep, right after being told I was the
- 14:50Speaker 2: love of their life. Happened with my son's mother. She
- 14:56Speaker 2: was twelve weeks she broke up, never contacted me again,
- 14:58Speaker 2: had a hunter down to take her to just you know,
- 15:02Speaker 2: for eternity stuff. Another one, yes, another one unfortunately, Yes,
- 15:07Speaker 2: another comment on your Instagram post after two years. It
- 15:11Speaker 2: happened to me two years Yep, yep, this happened to
- 15:17Speaker 2: my best friend.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:19Speaker 2: One after another.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And yes, it was fascinating to see that the amount
- 15:26Speaker 1: of people that said so I think, And I responded
- 15:31Speaker 1: to some people and I read them. And I had
- 15:39Speaker 1: another relationship way back in the day where at a
- 15:45Speaker 1: certain point she ghosted me. And this was after a
- 15:50Speaker 1: year and a half. But it but but it also
- 15:53Speaker 1: but I mean it had been a very tumultuous relationship
- 15:58Speaker 1: and I was, you know, in the the height of
- 16:04Speaker 1: my alcoholism. She I knew was an absolute mess. We
- 16:08Speaker 1: were both messes. So looking back, I that that's not
- 16:15Speaker 1: a surprise, that's the thing. And some of these things
- 16:21Speaker 1: this wasn't you know. We had met each other's family,
- 16:24Speaker 1: Like I took her to church and Leonard with Jackie.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I have not done that ever ever.
- 16:32Speaker 2: You haven't even taken me to church in Leonard with Jackie.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I I met her family. I've met her you know,
- 16:42Speaker 1: her dad, her mom, her brothers, her nephew, niece, a nephew,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and sister in law. Again, this was a lot of people.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I think if you objectively look back, you go, Okay,
- 16:56Speaker 1: this was not a healthy relationship. You can't be that
- 16:59Speaker 1: surprised that. That's the one thing where I think this
- 17:03Speaker 1: is a little bit different. And I just wonder this
- 17:08Speaker 1: was a healthy from every aspect, every metric I can
- 17:12Speaker 1: come up with, this was a healthy relationship, and so.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Up to the part, up up to accept the part
- 17:22Speaker 2: when she disappeared. Yeah, which which to me and I think,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I think this would I think for any normal person,
- 17:31Speaker 2: I think it would. It would drive you insane with
- 17:34Speaker 2: the thinking and the analyzing. It's like, what did I do?
- 17:37Speaker 2: What happened? What did I do? Why did this person
- 17:39Speaker 2: up and leave after all this time together? When in reality,
- 17:43Speaker 2: And somebody even commented something along these lines on your post, saying,
- 17:48Speaker 2: after this much time, this much of a committed relationship,
- 17:51Speaker 2: if they ended by ghosting, that speaks more on them
- 17:57Speaker 2: than it does on you. And I think that's accurate
- 18:02Speaker 2: because if you're on the receiving end of the ghosting,
- 18:06Speaker 2: you could absolutely drive yourself insane trying to figure out
- 18:10Speaker 2: why did this happen. That's that gets us back to
- 18:14Speaker 2: what you said earlier, which is closure is kind of
- 18:17Speaker 2: a myth. You can reach your own conclusions as long
- 18:22Speaker 2: as you cut out a lot of the junk before it.
- 18:25Speaker 2: What I mean is, at the end of the day,
- 18:28Speaker 2: that person doesn't want to be in the relationship, and
- 18:33Speaker 2: all the reasons for it, of which there could be
- 18:36Speaker 2: myriad at the end of the day, if you're just
- 18:39Speaker 2: seeking the closure, the closure is just like well, that
- 18:43Speaker 2: one of us or both of us don't want to
- 18:44Speaker 2: be in the relationship. That's the closure right there. You
- 18:46Speaker 2: don't necessarily get the why, and even especially if the
- 18:51Speaker 2: why may not even make sense to you, you may
- 18:54Speaker 2: disagree with it.
- 18:58Speaker 1: The thing that you would, so I don't. I mean,
- 19:04Speaker 1: that's the ending of it again. Closure. Closure involves this
- 19:10Speaker 1: deal of you know, I understand and and and everything else.
- 19:15Speaker 1: My my my closure on it is ultimately and like
- 19:21Speaker 1: I said, and this is why I'm not or haven't
- 19:28Speaker 1: yet gone off the deep end is I'm not sitting
- 19:33Speaker 1: here kicking myself going I wish I had done this.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I wish I had done that. Are there some things
- 19:39Speaker 1: I look, you know, it's like you know, I little things,
- 19:43Speaker 1: but all in all, I don't. I'm not looking back
- 19:50Speaker 1: at my relationship with Brandy and going I I fucked
- 19:54Speaker 1: up because I don't feel like I did. Always can
- 19:58Speaker 1: be better. But for the first time in my life,
- 20:00Speaker 1: I can honestly say I was. I was, I was there,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I was supportive, I loved, I gave, I tried my best.
- 20:12Speaker 2: That gets me to the to the part that I'm
- 20:15Speaker 2: also fascinated by. When someone ghosts somebody after a long term,
- 20:21Speaker 2: committed relationship. You mentioned you met each other's family, You
- 20:25Speaker 2: met her brothers, you met her all, you met all
- 20:27Speaker 2: of her family. What is she telling her family about
- 20:34Speaker 2: where you are? Is she just straight up lying? Or
- 20:38Speaker 2: when one of the brothers says, hey, whatever happened to
- 20:40Speaker 2: that trade guy, like, oh, I ghosted him? Are you
- 20:44Speaker 2: honest with people when you tell friends and family that
- 20:46Speaker 2: you ghosted somebody?
- 20:48Speaker 1: I you know that that is a great question, And
- 20:50Speaker 1: I wonder, I mean, she only has one brother and
- 20:53Speaker 1: uh a super nice guy.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great I don't know if you're the
- 21:00Speaker 2: spook in the relationship, you ghosted somebody. What do you
- 21:03Speaker 2: tell everyone else that met this person? Where that person is?
- 21:09Speaker 1: I you know, I I guess I guess she has
- 21:15Speaker 1: she was. If she's maybe she tells him that, you know,
- 21:24Speaker 1: she wasn't ready for the commitment. I don't know. I wish,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I wish I knew. But you know, it's just it's
- 21:36Speaker 1: a it's just a screw job every which way because
- 21:42Speaker 1: you know, least of which is now I have to
- 21:45Speaker 1: fucking move because they already you know, I went back.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I was like, can I take that uh that notice
- 21:51Speaker 1: back and stay Nope, or at least your apartment. No,
- 21:57Speaker 1: that's insulted injury. That sucks, but you know it's and
- 22:10Speaker 1: maybe it's a good thing because now, yeah, this place
- 22:16Speaker 1: reminds me of two bitches that aren't in my life.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Then you may or may not appreciate this as much

- 24:42Speaker 2: By the way, Trey, thank you for spilling your guts
- 24:44Speaker 2: here inside the treehouse.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Hey, you're welcome.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Hopefully we can make it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Might as well get something out of it. Might as well.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Uh, let's see if we can make you feel a
- 24:54Speaker 2: little bit better with birthdays. American pie star Jason bit Is,
- 25:00Speaker 2: forty eight. I'm always fascinated by like the high school
- 25:06Speaker 2: generation define right, the generation defining high school movies. I
- 25:14Speaker 2: feel like every generation has at least one. Some have
- 25:17Speaker 2: a few. For gen X, I feel like there's a
- 25:23Speaker 2: couple because gen X is wide enough as far as
- 25:27Speaker 2: an age group to where we can claim fast times
- 25:30Speaker 2: at Ridgemont High Right, we can claim that it's like
- 25:35Speaker 2: a generation a generational high school film.
- 25:39Speaker 1: And it it applies to gen X. I think it
- 25:43Speaker 1: more applied to the older gen xers than us.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Definitely, and yet we also like it's not like with
- 25:53Speaker 2: with our specific ages, you being fifty one forty six,
- 25:57Speaker 2: that's not our specific high school movie. But we've seen
- 26:01Speaker 2: it and we love it, at least I do and
- 26:03Speaker 2: appreciate it for what it is.
- 26:05Speaker 1: That that would be a I'll throw that into it.
- 26:10Speaker 2: For a review Fast Times. Yeah, I'm trying to think
- 26:15Speaker 2: when the last time was I watched it? I mean,
- 26:17Speaker 2: it's it's it's it's been a while. I want to
- 26:22Speaker 2: say in that, I want to say ten to fifteen
- 26:24Speaker 2: year range I and the last time I saw it
- 26:29Speaker 2: is I'm remembering it. I think I think it holds
- 26:31Speaker 2: up just fine. I think more so though for me,
- 26:37Speaker 2: my high school defining movie I think probably was American Pie,
- 26:42Speaker 2: And I think that might be too new for you.
- 26:46Speaker 1: What year was American Pie done?
- 26:48Speaker 2: I think it was ninety eight, which is the year
- 26:50Speaker 2: I graduated high school? Maybe ninety nine.
- 27:00Speaker 1: What year was Fast Times?
- 27:01Speaker 2: That's that was in the eighties when it came out.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's eighty three, eighty two or eighty two. Okay,
- 27:15Speaker 2: I'm trying to think high school defining movie.
- 27:17Speaker 1: If my age.
- 27:22Speaker 2: American Pie nineteen ninety nine.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely, that's uh past that Breakfast Club a
- 27:38Speaker 1: little more my, but that's still on the older side.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I'd have to really think about the.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I think your because what year did you graduate high
- 27:47Speaker 2: school ninety two. Dazed and Confused came out in ninety three.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I guess because at that time I was at UT
- 28:01Speaker 1: I had met in Matthew McConaughey at the delt House.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I identified that more as a college movie, but yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 1: it's a high school flick man. Yeah, but yeah, that
- 28:14Speaker 1: would probably off top of my head. Yeah, I'd Saydays
- 28:19Speaker 1: and Confused was definitely, I mean, it didn't really capture
- 28:24Speaker 1: my high school. But yeah, well.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I mean that was a tough one because similar to Porky's,
- 28:32Speaker 2: which we just did a review on on our Patreon,
- 28:35Speaker 2: Porky's was released in eighty one, but it was set
- 28:38Speaker 2: in nineteen fifty four. Days Too Confused was released in
- 28:43Speaker 2: nineteen ninety three, but took place in I think the seventies.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll still I think Breakfast Club is probably if
- 28:52Speaker 1: you really want to get into the in depth things
- 28:54Speaker 1: of the different clicks and everything else, probably probably the
- 29:01Speaker 1: best high school I mean, I didn't really identify with
- 29:04Speaker 1: like sixteen candles are Pretty in Pink or anything like that,
- 29:07Speaker 1: which is all the kind of the same genre.
- 29:09Speaker 2: You identify with pretty in Pink tray.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Come on, Yeah, that's it. That's a fascinating I really
- 29:19Speaker 1: have to go I have to go back and look
- 29:21Speaker 1: at the movies around that time and see because the
- 29:27Speaker 1: like I said, I always thought days confused more of
- 29:29Speaker 1: a I mean, obviously I was in college, so that
- 29:32Speaker 1: was but definitely high school ish. But because then Old
- 29:39Speaker 1: School was kind of the college identifying movie.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's old The old school is when you're
- 29:47Speaker 2: in your thirties and wish you were still.
- 29:48Speaker 1: In the college movie.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Another one that would be a high school generational
- 29:53Speaker 2: film for me that came out the year before American
- 29:58Speaker 2: Pie was nineteen ninety can't hardly wait. This was Jennifer Love,
- 30:04Speaker 2: hewittt Ethan Imbrie, Charlie Corsmo, Peter Fassenelli, Seth Green. Seth
- 30:11Speaker 2: Green was like the little white guy who was trying
- 30:16Speaker 2: to be urban rapper kid. That's not the term we
- 30:20Speaker 2: used for it and in the nineties, and it's now
- 30:22Speaker 2: a term I'm going to resurface here today. But if
- 30:24Speaker 2: you're in that age range. You know the word I'm
- 30:26Speaker 2: talking about.
- 30:28Speaker 1: That was a great movie. Can't Buy Me Love also
- 30:35Speaker 1: something I would see.
- 30:37Speaker 2: And this is one of the things that I feel
- 30:38Speaker 2: like as gen X because we're all the age range
- 30:41Speaker 2: is so wide. The eighties really had some amazing teen movies,
- 30:49Speaker 2: a bunch of the ones you just named, including Can't
- 30:52Speaker 2: Buy Me Lave. But then there's the subset, and that
- 30:56Speaker 2: is the high school party movie that's like they can't
- 31:01Speaker 2: Hardly Wait. Dazed and Confused was a hardcore party movie.
- 31:07Speaker 2: It's all about like one night in high school. So yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 2: these are things I think about on occasion. Jason Biggs
- 31:21Speaker 2: forty eight years old. Happy birthday. Oh and real quick
- 31:25Speaker 2: side note on that, because you mentioned you had met
- 31:27Speaker 2: McConaughey at the delt House back when Days and Confus
- 31:30Speaker 2: had just come out. One of the stars of American
- 31:34Speaker 2: Pie was Chris Klein. He's the one that played the
- 31:37Speaker 2: lacrosse player. He was at TCU and he was a nobody.
- 31:42Speaker 2: I had a number of friends that went off to
- 31:44Speaker 2: college to TCU and they said they remembered him after
- 31:48Speaker 2: the movie came out. They're like, it's that guy. This
- 31:50Speaker 2: is the guy that basically would just kind of sit
- 31:52Speaker 2: by himself in the cafeteria kind of a thing. He
- 31:55Speaker 2: wasn't really anything anybody, He wasn't known to anybody, and
- 31:58Speaker 2: then all of a sudden he's for a while he
- 32:00Speaker 2: was a megastar from them.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Honestly, it's not like and I mean I literally I
- 32:10Speaker 1: met McConaughey, not in any like we didn't have an
- 32:12Speaker 1: end depth conversation or anything else, like hey.
- 32:14Speaker 2: How are you?
- 32:15Speaker 1: But nothing where I when I saw Days and Fuse like,
- 32:19Speaker 1: oh my god, I met that guy. I had to
- 32:21Speaker 1: someone go, hey, actually look at it, because I mean,
- 32:24Speaker 1: he didn't have the wild, crazy hair anything else. And
- 32:28Speaker 1: then someone showed me the picture and I was like, oh, okay, yeah,
- 32:30Speaker 1: totally remember that guy.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Other birthdays today, Remy Mallick turns forty five. He's a
- 32:40Speaker 2: good actor.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. I mean, obviously the Queen movie.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Which he was phenomenal in, he was. He was also
- 32:51Speaker 2: a bad guy in one of the Daniel Craig Bond
- 32:54Speaker 2: movies yep, and then not I Robot. It was a
- 33:04Speaker 2: television show that I'm brain farting on the name of it,
- 33:07Speaker 2: but he was That's sort of where he got his
- 33:09Speaker 2: big break was on a television show, wasn't that I Robot?
- 33:14Speaker 2: I don't know, my my my brain is so full
- 33:20Speaker 2: of stupid and useless I only have so much room
- 33:23Speaker 2: for it. And Remy Mallig useful useless information is a
- 33:26Speaker 2: little on the short site, no pun intended, sorry, Remy.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Emilio Estevez is sixty four today. This gives me an
- 33:35Speaker 2: excuse to bring up not just the Young Guns franchise,
- 33:38Speaker 2: which we are apparently getting a long awaited sequel. No,
- 33:44Speaker 2: I I think we're getting Young Guns three.
- 33:50Speaker 1: We are. I mean, hell, we talked about this like
- 33:52Speaker 1: a year ago. I don't really feel like it was
- 33:57Speaker 1: long awaited.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I feel like I know that's why I had you
- 34:00Speaker 2: looking at me. I was like long awaited, I know.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I mean Top Gun was a long awaited Maverick was
- 34:08Speaker 1: a long awaited sequel to me. Young Guns too. They
- 34:14Speaker 1: told the story, people died, everything else.
- 34:17Speaker 2: I mean, it seemed like it but a pretty you know,
- 34:20Speaker 2: pretty much on it. Yeah that somehow they're going to
- 34:26Speaker 2: do a Young Guns three. But the reason I'm excited
- 34:28Speaker 2: to bring up Amelia Lestevez's sixty fourth birthday is not
- 34:32Speaker 2: for the Young Guns news, but because there's another movie
- 34:36Speaker 2: he did with his brother Charlie that I think is
- 34:39Speaker 2: a classic and I think is right for a Treehouse review,
- 34:42Speaker 2: and that is Men at Work, where Emilio Estevez Charlie
- 34:46Speaker 2: Sheen played garbage men and they solve and they saw
- 34:51Speaker 2: the crime they didn't mean to. It's not like they're
- 34:54Speaker 2: private investigators on the side kind of a thing. It's
- 34:56Speaker 2: just I think they they because they were garbage men.
- 35:00Speaker 2: They happened upon some evidence, this is how I remember it,
- 35:03Speaker 2: and they end up trying to save the day and
- 35:05Speaker 2: solve a crime. Minute Work Emilio Estavez Charlie Sheen is
- 35:11Speaker 2: one of those movies back in the day, Me and
- 35:13Speaker 2: my best friend growing up, man, we loved that movie.
- 35:16Speaker 2: But it has easily easily been twenty five years since
- 35:21Speaker 2: I've seen it.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Oh that's a movie I did not see in the theater.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I've rented it, but I have not I don't think.
- 35:34Speaker 1: I don't think I've seen it since then. So yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 1: that would be that would definitely be a movie worth reviewing.
- 35:44Speaker 2: I'm just glad you've heard of it. And finally, Birthdays today,
- 35:49Speaker 2: Tony Hawk skating legend fifty eight years old today. There
- 35:53Speaker 2: was a phase. I think it was in the early
- 35:55Speaker 2: two thousands, really early, like around two thousand. In college.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Uh my buddy Brian and I lived together. We would
- 36:03Speaker 2: play that Tony Hawk video game for hours. I couldn't
- 36:08Speaker 2: skate for anything in real life, but man, I was.
- 36:10Speaker 2: I was halfway decent on the video game.
- 36:13Speaker 1: You know. I skateboarding was a big thing my junior
- 36:17Speaker 1: high years. And you know, I actually had a classmate
- 36:22Speaker 1: as nas Michael Crumb, who went on to actually make
- 36:25Speaker 1: a career out of skateboarding, and I mean he was
- 36:28Speaker 1: phenomenal at it. I was, you know, gravity even then,
- 36:35Speaker 1: I I did not like to mess with it. And
- 36:39Speaker 1: you have to have have the ability to forget about
- 36:42Speaker 1: gravity and and really want to get up there and
- 36:45Speaker 1: not afraid of falling. And that was not me. But
- 36:49Speaker 1: I could go up and down on a ramp, but
- 36:51Speaker 1: that was that was about it.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Outrage has erupted after a tourist allegedly threw a rock
- 37:03Speaker 2: at a Hawaiian monk seal a few days ago. How
- 37:09Speaker 2: what are you doing as we see the video of
- 37:13Speaker 2: him very obviously throwing our rock at the Hawaiian monk seal.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I don't know why they're even bothering using the word allegedly.
- 37:21Speaker 1: That's what I was curious about, because there is clear
- 37:25Speaker 1: video evidence of this guy doing it.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many times I have seen
- 37:31Speaker 2: on on social media news sites like this one, which
- 37:38Speaker 2: is the Tribune, saying something allegedly happened and posting the
- 37:45Speaker 2: video of it happening, Like I don't you don't need
- 37:49Speaker 2: to say allegedly, like this is clearly what is happening.
- 37:52Speaker 1: One of my.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Favorites was the Dallas, Texas social media account or. They
- 37:57Speaker 2: had posted two teams arrested for a leg firing automatic
- 38:01Speaker 2: weapons from an overpass in Dallas, and there's the video
- 38:04Speaker 2: of them of the guy shooting automatic weapons from like
- 38:08Speaker 2: Arnold Swartzenegger shooting automatic weapons from an overpass. It's like,
- 38:13Speaker 2: you don't need to say allegedly, so I would just
- 38:15Speaker 2: I'll just comment on that with quotes allegedly.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Especially some I understand, because maybe you can go mistaken
- 38:24Speaker 1: identity or whatever. This one. The person filming this, they
- 38:28Speaker 1: made sure to get a nice good facial shot of
- 38:32Speaker 1: this guy walking away. There is, yeah, there is no
- 38:36Speaker 1: allegedly on this one.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Yeah, even on the videos that you see where he's
- 38:41Speaker 2: throwing the rock at the seal. People have taken a
- 38:45Speaker 2: photo of him and superimposed it on the video, so
- 38:49Speaker 2: it's like, in case you're not sure, it's this guy
- 38:52Speaker 2: right here.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And what I mean, yeah, what are the sayings that
- 39:05Speaker 1: you know used to be prevalent? Was you know, like
- 39:09Speaker 1: you club a baby seal talking about that you're just
- 39:11Speaker 1: an awful person. Here you go.
- 39:16Speaker 2: And this is him according to the lady who posted
- 39:19Speaker 2: a video. Uh. When confronted, the man allegedly responded, I
- 39:26Speaker 2: don't care find me.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I'm rich. It says it in the video. Fuck Getty, Hello,
- 39:37Speaker 1: you fucking Holly, you just do There's another video where
- 39:45Speaker 1: it he does say that very nonchalantly. It's like, dude,
- 39:56Speaker 1: have you been living under a rock the last ten
- 39:59Speaker 1: years that you don't realize that you're about to go
- 40:02Speaker 1: viral because you can do a lot of things and
- 40:06Speaker 1: you'll you know, you might get condemned by one side
- 40:10Speaker 1: and praised by the other. You throwing a rock at
- 40:12Speaker 1: a baby sea at a seal, You're not gonna have
- 40:15Speaker 1: anyone who's going I got you back?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, you got no friends, bro, No, And look
- 40:22Speaker 2: you can say I'm rich. I don't care. Find me
- 40:26Speaker 2: all you want, but sometimes there are consequences to your actions,
- 40:32Speaker 2: like what happened not long after the initial video was
- 40:35Speaker 2: recorded of him throwing a rock at a seal, when
- 40:37Speaker 2: another Hawaiian decided to exact some Hawaiian justice on his head.
- 40:48Speaker 2: The video of a young man confronting this man by
- 40:54Speaker 2: escorting him through a closed gate repeatedly is the best
- 40:58Speaker 2: way I can put it, So a little bit of
- 41:02Speaker 2: immediate Hawaiian justice was delivered upon this man's head, along
- 41:08Speaker 2: with the unsurprising viral backlash online. I mean, I've said
- 41:18Speaker 2: for a few years now, when someone shows you who
- 41:22Speaker 2: they are, believe them. And this guy did that in
- 41:26Speaker 2: a matter of seconds. What an absolute piece of trash.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I just you're the same type of person that
- 41:39Speaker 1: would kick a puppy or you know what I mean.
- 41:41Speaker 1: It's just who does that.
- 41:44Speaker 2: The only thing that surprised me is the fact that
- 41:50Speaker 2: this man was able to make it from the beach
- 41:52Speaker 2: to whatever gate he was trying to escape to, because
- 41:57Speaker 2: I kind of would have expected that beat down to
- 41:59Speaker 2: have and right there on the beach.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Yeah, especially, I mean, evidently this is an endangered seal,
- 42:08Speaker 1: and obviously you know anything about the Hawaiian and that culture.
- 42:14Speaker 1: They are things. They they're a balance of nature and
- 42:17Speaker 1: everything else, something they highly regard. So I mean, he
- 42:21Speaker 1: got he is going to get everything that he deserves
- 42:25Speaker 1: and then some hopefully all the smoke, all of this.
- 42:32Speaker 1: It's never going away. You know, ten years from now,
- 42:37Speaker 1: you'll be able to google this guy's name and this
- 42:40Speaker 1: is what will pop up.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Along with the video of him getting the Hawaiian beat down.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is sad though. It's just it makes
- 42:55Speaker 2: me sick to be honest with you, And I think
- 42:57Speaker 2: about what would happen if I was there and I
- 43:00Speaker 2: all that It's like, Okay, that looks like a pretty
- 43:02Speaker 2: good response. I feel like I feel like I would
- 43:09Speaker 2: see red like that Hawaiian kid did.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Well, why why would you? Why would you just want
- 43:22Speaker 1: to I.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Mean, look at that seal. Let me chunk rocks at it.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's not like it's not like it attacked you,
- 43:35Speaker 1: it was a threat to you. You just you were
- 43:40Speaker 1: just trying to hurt something for shits and giggles. Exactly. Congratulations,
- 43:46Speaker 1: it backfired on you and now you're getting your ass
- 43:54Speaker 1: beat as everyone else's ships and giggles.
- 43:56Speaker 2: It really is. It's the thing that's really made made
- 43:59Speaker 2: the start of my week very happy.

- 45:26Speaker 2: Airport a few days ago and because of the incident there.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Denver International Airport is conducting a safety analysis after a
- 45:35Speaker 2: person who jumped over a fence into a runway was
- 45:39Speaker 2: struck and killed by a plane during take off late Friday.
- 45:42Speaker 2: It's a very generic way of saying got sucked into
- 45:46Speaker 2: the jet engine. The only thing we don't know at
- 45:51Speaker 2: this point, although we've we can guess was it intentional
- 45:57Speaker 2: or was this accidental? Now I don't mean an intentional
- 46:00Speaker 2: on the part of the front tiered jet, you know, pilot.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I mean did the man run onto the runway to
- 46:08Speaker 2: jump into a jet engine or was he just running
- 46:11Speaker 2: along the airport and accidentally got sucked in?
- 46:14Speaker 1: I mean, you have to unless they find that there
- 46:17Speaker 1: was some some section of fence that was down. Every
- 46:23Speaker 1: airport I know of has a perimeter fence that includes
- 46:28Speaker 1: razor wire at the top. Like you don't just happen
- 46:34Speaker 1: upon a runway like you you have to really go
- 46:39Speaker 1: out of your way and and in the same essence
- 46:49Speaker 1: of look both ways before crossing the street. If you
- 46:51Speaker 1: are going to be on a runway and you know
- 46:54Speaker 1: you think you are just trying to make a short
- 46:56Speaker 1: cut over airport, be really wise to look both ways
- 47:00Speaker 1: before crossing said runway. Uh, that's why, I mean, I
- 47:04Speaker 1: I can't help but think that this was a suicide.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 47:09Speaker 2: I mean, there's there's a big yeah. Looking both ways
- 47:11Speaker 2: as smart, especially at an airport, because look, if you're
- 47:14Speaker 2: on a if you're a pedestrian on a normal street,
- 47:17Speaker 2: getting hit by a Honda's not going to feel good,
- 47:19Speaker 2: but getting sucked into a jet engine's going to be
- 47:21Speaker 2: way worse.
- 47:23Speaker 1: It's like occasionally you hear people, you know, obviously get
- 47:25Speaker 1: struck by a car trying to cross like an interstate.
- 47:27Speaker 1: It's like, you know that you're just here's a here's
- 47:31Speaker 1: an eighties reference. You're trying to play Frogger and you're
- 47:34Speaker 1: gonna lose. But especially being that this plane was taking off,
- 47:40Speaker 1: not landing, so you clearly, if you look, you would
- 47:46Speaker 1: have seen that, oh hey, there is a big, giant,
- 47:49Speaker 1: you know thing heading this way. I should not get
- 47:52Speaker 1: in front of it. I am, and I'm not fast enough.
- 47:57Speaker 2: And one of this, one of the stories I saw
- 48:00Speaker 2: was that when the impact occurred, the jet was going
- 48:03Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty nine miles an hour. I don't
- 48:07Speaker 2: know if that really matters a whole lot when you
- 48:08Speaker 2: get pulled into a turbine that's on. I mean, it's
- 48:13Speaker 2: going to end poorly either way. The fatal incident has
- 48:17Speaker 2: drawn scrutiny to the airport's security protocols, of course, and
- 48:20Speaker 2: heightened i'm sorry, and highlighted the challenges of securing a
- 48:23Speaker 2: facility twice the size of Manhattan. I think that's a
- 48:28Speaker 2: legitimate concern for any airport in the country, especially the
- 48:33Speaker 2: really big ones like a Denver International, like our DFWO,
- 48:38Speaker 2: which I think is even bigger than Denver's. Probably. The
- 48:42Speaker 2: pedestrian was killed just two minutes after they jumped a
- 48:44Speaker 2: perimeter fence and crossed a runway. Pilots of the Frontier
- 48:47Speaker 2: Airlines airbus, which was headed to Los Angeles, quickly aboard
- 48:50Speaker 2: a takeoff. Twelve people were injured during the incident. Surveillance
- 48:55Speaker 2: video taken before the collision shows a blurry figure, tiny
- 48:58Speaker 2: in comparison to the jet and the bans of the
- 49:00Speaker 2: land around them, standing on the runway. Then the figure
- 49:03Speaker 2: is overtaken by the plane engulfed in flames. Ugh, well,
- 49:09Speaker 2: and thank god the because and it started an engine fire.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Well, and thank god they weren't because at a certain
- 49:17Speaker 1: point you I forgot. There's a specific name for it.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Once a plane hits a certain speed, you have to
- 49:24Speaker 1: take off like they you can't break, so you have
- 49:27Speaker 1: to take up and basically then come back into an
- 49:29Speaker 1: emergency landing. Thank god they hadn't hit that point, because
- 49:34Speaker 1: although a plane can fly on one engine, it's certainly
- 49:38Speaker 1: not ideal. Well said.
- 49:44Speaker 2: And in case you were curious about the size and
- 49:46Speaker 2: how accurate we were just a moment ago. Denver International
- 49:49Speaker 2: Airport is the nation's third busiest by passengers, behind only
- 49:54Speaker 2: Atlanta and our DFW, and it is massive, fifty three
- 49:58Speaker 2: square miles larger than San Francisco.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I wonder how big DFW is. I would assume it's big.
- 50:08Speaker 1: I know the Denver Airport is huge, but I would
- 50:10Speaker 1: assume DFW is bigger too, just because we got the land,
- 50:18Speaker 1: why not?
- 50:20Speaker 2: Yeah? No kidding. Have you ever felt like you could
- 50:24Speaker 2: relate to the Pope?
- 50:29Speaker 1: Can't really say no?
- 50:32Speaker 2: Now you can, Okay? The Pope called customer service last
- 50:36Speaker 2: week and they hung up on him. Pope Leo the
- 50:42Speaker 2: thirteenth reportedly, I'm sorry, Pope Leo the fourteenth. Pope Leo
- 50:47Speaker 2: the fourteenth reportedly called his bank over an issue with
- 50:51Speaker 2: his account and got the full customer service experience, confusion, frustration,
- 50:56Speaker 2: and eventually click story exploded online because even the Pope
- 51:01Speaker 2: can't escape the terrible hold music and support representatives.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I would assume that one of the most powerful people
- 51:16Speaker 1: on the face of the earth, the leader of roughly
- 51:19Speaker 1: two billion people, the head of your own country, you
- 51:25Speaker 1: have your own currency, you sit on piles of money.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I would assume you have a you could have a
- 51:34Speaker 1: staffer that could do that, that your time is more valuable,
- 51:37Speaker 1: I mean, and that you know, like when you're elected president,
- 51:42Speaker 1: all your accounts are basically closed or put on hold,
- 51:46Speaker 1: and all your all of that stuff is put away
- 51:49Speaker 1: because you don't.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Need it basically supposedly.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm sure, I'm sure things have progressed
- 51:57Speaker 1: at this point where maybe they do. But obviously, you know,
- 52:01Speaker 1: you don't want the president's account getting hacked or anything.
- 52:03Speaker 1: And I just I would assume the Pope has there
- 52:09Speaker 1: are better uses of his time, that you could at
- 52:11Speaker 1: least have a lackey sit on hold and then flag
- 52:15Speaker 1: him down when hey, all right, I got somebody yeah moment.
- 52:19Speaker 2: You would assume that the pope has people for these things.
- 52:24Speaker 2: But two months into his papacy, the pontiff called his
- 52:28Speaker 2: bank in Chicago to change his phone number and his address.
- 52:35Speaker 2: After Pope Leo, who at this point in the conversation
- 52:39Speaker 2: with his bank is just good old Robert Prevost, answered
- 52:44Speaker 2: a series of security questions, the customer service representative offered
- 52:48Speaker 2: him a seemingly straightforward solution, saying, oh, I'm sorry, sir,
- 52:51Speaker 2: it says here you have to come in person. After
- 52:58Speaker 2: pleading with the representative to Noah Vail, Pope Leo had
- 53:01Speaker 2: just one last card to pull. He said, would it
- 53:06Speaker 2: matter to you if I told you I'm Pope Leo?
- 53:10Speaker 2: And that didn't work. According to the Vatican, she hung
- 53:14Speaker 2: up on it. Now, which means somewhere there's a customer
- 53:21Speaker 2: service representative who realizes that she actually did hang up
- 53:26Speaker 2: on the Pope.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of like that scene out of The
- 53:31Speaker 1: American President where he was trying to order flowers. But also,
- 53:38Speaker 1: I asked this question, how old is is Pope Leo?
- 53:44Speaker 2: Oh? I think in his sixties, late sixties, early seventies,
- 53:50Speaker 2: somewhere in there.
- 53:52Speaker 1: Let's see, seventy years old here we go. So is
- 53:58Speaker 1: he is he at that age that he's too stubborn
- 54:02Speaker 1: to do online banking.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Hang On. In his defense, I understand what's happening because
- 54:11Speaker 2: where I live there is not a Chase branch. There's
- 54:16Speaker 2: also not a Bank of America branch. So my wife
- 54:19Speaker 2: and I can occasionally run into some banking issues, and
- 54:23Speaker 2: when they say, well, we need you to come in,
- 54:25Speaker 2: we say, well, that's not really possible right now because
- 54:29Speaker 2: we live very far away. So I understand where he's
- 54:32Speaker 2: coming from. At a certain point, there's only certain things
- 54:35Speaker 2: you can do.
- 54:37Speaker 1: If you need to change your address, you can probably
- 54:40Speaker 1: open up the app and do so.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Yes, But I think this is a weird way where
- 54:50Speaker 2: I think I understand what the Pope is going through
- 54:53Speaker 2: because he lives in such a specific place that changing
- 54:58Speaker 2: his address to Vatican City Vatican probably is not on
- 55:03Speaker 2: the drop down menu at his bank. I have the
- 55:06Speaker 2: same issue sometimes when I try to do an address
- 55:09Speaker 2: change or something, the virgin Islands isn't always an option.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Sometimes the closest I can get is Virginia and then
- 55:17Speaker 2: it just that's it, and that's when they say you
- 55:20Speaker 2: need to come in. It's like, well, if that were possible,
- 55:22Speaker 2: I would, but it's very difficult because I'm very far away,
- 55:25Speaker 2: so I think that's what happened. I think there wasn't
- 55:28Speaker 2: a Vatican City dropped down to change his address too,
- 55:32Speaker 2: and when he said, but I'm the Pope, and she's
- 55:34Speaker 2: like okay, and then she hung up on it again.
- 55:39Speaker 1: You have your own currency. I feel like you could
- 55:42Speaker 1: call someone in the Vatican Treasury and go, hey, can
- 55:46Speaker 1: you call Chase for me? And you know, because you
- 55:50Speaker 1: can probably get hold of the head of Chase and
- 55:52Speaker 1: just go, hey, can you take care of this? Yeah?
- 55:54Speaker 1: Or but just go and just go, hey, my address
- 55:58Speaker 1: it's one Popeville, Italy, and I bet it would get there.
- 56:06Speaker 2: You know what, I don't think you're wrong. One Pope Boulevard,
- 56:13Speaker 2: Pope Town, Italy, Italy. It's worth the shot.
- 56:22Speaker 1: You know. It works for Santa, That's true.
- 56:27Speaker 2: That's what the Pope should have said. If Santa can
- 56:32Speaker 2: get his mail, then I should be able to get
- 56:34Speaker 2: the pope mail. Another way to look at it that
- 56:40Speaker 2: you can relate to the Pope is you're not the
- 56:43Speaker 2: only one to get ghosted tree.
- 56:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I think he's coming to the States sometime. You know,
- 56:52Speaker 1: he can just uh, He'll left a detour and take
- 56:54Speaker 1: his little Pope. Pope will beile to.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Through the d that's a photo that needs to happen.
- 57:03Speaker 2: He needs to go to the bank and do his
- 57:05Speaker 2: official change of address. For all things Treehouse, go to
