• Josh DeMage: Welcome back to TripOff Sports Talk. I'm Josh. On my screen, Bryson Broyer down there. Don't know where they are for you guys. Still haven't figured that out. Roy: We're on w we're above you 'cause that's what we are. We're we're up top. We're higher than you and better than you. Josh DeMage: see you're below me, so that makes sense on my on my end. pod one forty six, we are doing Bryce's division, NFC North and Roy's division, 'cause he's a Lions fan, I think, at heart. Roy: I am not I am not an NFL fan, don't get I'm nothing. Brice: The calls man and horror. Josh DeMage: So we're gonna jump right into it, and we're starting with the NFC North. I will start with the fourth place, Detroit Lions. Everyone's picked to win the NFC North last year. They finished in last. Key additions, they go and add Ija Isaiah Pacheco from the Chiefs to be Jameer Gibbs' backup. Tyler Conklin signs backup tight end. They really didn't do a whole lot else other than that. they did sign Devin White and Peyton Turner, but Both those guys are in the back end of their career probably. Peyton Turner just hasn't been much. Teddy Bridgewater retired in camp. That was funny to see. and then the I mean that's really about it. They really haven't made too many moves. last year they just what's that? Brice: They they signed the past or not. Josh DeMage: Sure. I think he's gonna be the third string, so but yeah, I mean this team just was ravaged by injuries last year. Roy: Ha ha ha. Josh DeMage: they gotta stay healthy. I think this is one of the best teams in the division. And I I say they finished last. I believe they were nine and eight. So I mean if that's an abysmal season, then I mean I think you're doing pretty well. Brice: It was whoever they played the Vikings last game of the season. Whoever lost finished last. Josh DeMage: Yeah, so yeah, I think they were both nine and eight, if I'm not or Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: maybe one jumped up to ten, I'm not sure, but yeah. I'll tell you what though, something that does intrigue me about Detroit, this is as good of a team as you're gonna find the NFC this season. I mean the NFC is a little bit weaker in my opinion anyway. to play a fourth place schedule, gotta be gotta be nice for the I expect them to take advantage of that, so I expect Detroit to bounce back this year. Brice: Yeah, okay. I I do expect him to be a little bit better than last year just 'cause of the injury bug, but Jared Goff's getting old. I just I don't see he doesn't win in the playoffs. pretty much every playoff season they've had, with Jared Goff at the Lions, he's been the reason they lost the game. Like four interceptions, terrible play. He's really good during the regular season. He's a great quarterback during that time, but then he just people get pressure on him and they don't let him run the ball the whole time, and then he comes out. I think them losing or letting David Montgomery go and signing Isaiah Pacheco's a little bit of a downgrade. I think David Montgomery's still a really good running back. And Isaiah Pacheco I don't think he's that good anymore. He had the one good year in Kansas City and I just I haven't seen it since. So I think they will be better, especially playing on a fourth place schedule. I don't think they'll get last again. But I also find it hard for them to win the championship or win the NFT North this year just because they had they did not look the same. I get they had injuries without Ben Johnson though. They just their offense does not click like it used to. Roy: See, I I I'm kinda down on Detroit. if I don't know if you've seen their injuries, you know. But two they got two corners already hurt, one for out Arnold I think is out for the year, maybe. Josh DeMage: Arnold Arnold signed with Seattle. Roy: no, aren't some one of their corners got got is out for the year. I forget. I think with an ACL. The their defense is their is gonna be decent, but they're just not a deep team. That's what they've noticed. I think they pay a lot of guys, but they're just not you know, when the guy gets hurt, they just don't have anybody to play replace him, and that's what killed him last year. I think they'll be around about where they were nine and eight, their offense. Yeah, we'll see what they could do with Gibbs being the only back. Pacheco, I mean, he's younger, so that's why they did that's why they got him than Montgomery. If he can stay healthy I think he'll be all right. But it golf's I mean golf's just a make an average quarterback. I mean he can make the pla plays. He's got weapons all around him. I mean you got Laporta, you got St. Brown. If they can keep these guys healthy, maybe they'll win ten games, but I just don't I just don't know if that'll be the possibility. If they they can't they just seem to keep not gonna keep anybody healthy and they just don't have have the backups to do it. Josh DeMage: All right, third place. Bryce, you wanna take it? Brice: In third place the Minnesota Vikings. some key off season moves, quarterbacks, obviously they signed Kyler Murray to a one year, one point three million dollar deal, and they retain Carson Wentz on a one year contract. So they just have three clowns in the quarterback room right now. key signings, added inside linebacker Eric Wilson on a three year deal, and cornerback James Pierre on a two year deal. They brought in punter Johnny Hecker, defensive tackle Jonathan Harris and tight end Matt Lauder. and then they extended Brian O'Neill. so key losses, their cap restructuring. Roy: You see it? It says Detroit Lions. I'll see some moves. Brice: yeah. Never mind it. Weird. Josh DeMage: Well yeah, I don't know why that popped up your eye. That's crazy. Huh. I guess that's it for it. Interesting. Brice: Yeah, I don't really know what their off seasons like losses were. Roy: Just some offensive linemen they've lost. Brice: Okay. I'll talk Roy: I think that's about it. Brice: about them a little bit. they were I mean, they have weapons, wide receivers, running backs, their defense was really good last year. You saw it two years ago they won fourteen games with Sam Darnold and then for some reason they thought J J was better than Sam Darnold. Yeah, it's I I'm not gonna talk about J J. McCarthy too much. But That quarterback room Kyler Murray could have some type of bounce back season. He just hasn't had it in the pla in the NFL really in my opinion. He had one decent year and then he just got the homework clause and then he's got all these controversies and he's he just doesn't I don't think he fits in the NFL. I think he's kinda on his last chance to be a starter and not just be a career backup after this. So we'll see what they do. I don't expect him to do very much. There's just so much controversy in that quarterback room. Josh DeMage: I'll go next. I I I don't have a whole lot to say about Minnesota. I mean, they're gonna go as far as their quarterback play takes I mean, if if they have a year like with any of the three, you know, whoever the hell it is, like with Sam Darnold and they really play well, could this team be, you know, twelve and five and find their way into a a playoff spot? Yeah, they could. they have a good defense. I really like their head coach. I think he's a very good offensive minded head coach. they have one of the best wide receivers in the sport, as long as he stays healthy and he gets the ball to I d I wanna say Jordan Anderson's suspended or something like that. So yeah, I don't I don't know the exact time frame. Is it down a little bit, but still. It's gonna be as far as their quarterback play takes I think this team can be decent. I mean, I I agree with you, Bryce, that Kyler Murray hasn't been great in his career. He's had good stints in Arizona. But Arizona has not been good since they've had Kyler Murray, other than the the stint. So yeah. Brice: They had that one season where they were pretty good and Josh DeMage: What they had one year where I think they won ten games, and he was good that year. So Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: let's see what he looks like with a little bit of weapons, a little bit of offensive line, and a little bit good of a head coach, because that's another thing they they had. Well, they had three head coaches in Kyler Murray's career. Again, kinda hard to, you know, get rolling when you have a different coach in there every year. So I want to see what Kyler Murray looks like, but I don't think Brice: And and you just don't study the playbooks, you just play video games all night, so Josh DeMage: I mean yeah, so but maybe this year he's playing Madden instead, so we'll see. Roy: No, the problem is Kyle Mur Kyrom Kyler Murray is five eight. That is his fucking problem. When they r he had weapons in Cal in the car in Arizona. I mean, he's always had weapons out there. They were good that year. They went to because he r he ran the ball. He'd get out there, roll out, and then just run the ball. that's always been his calling card. Then he got hurt and he's not he's not the same running quarterback that he was. That's his biggest problem. this team, their offensive line was their was terrible last year. That's been their biggest problem. Their defense is really good. They got really 'cause they sp I mean they spent a lot of money on defense. They spent a lot of money on their weapons. everybody can bitch about JJ McCarthy's played ten games. Ten games in two years. So or something like that. So I don't have a problem. I think he he does have some learning curve to do, but I di I he'll Kyle Murray won't do much. He'll be he'll be benched or hurt within the first three or four weeks and they'll move on to JJ McCarthy or Carson wins one of so if they can run the ball the Brice: I just think JJ McCarthy he was taken way too high. He shouldn't have been thrown into a starting role. He should have had a year to sit behind, maybe two years ahead of time somebody. Roy: No, he should he should no, he I I think he should have sat. He should have sat for two years like you like that's w I mean that was the plan and then they didn't sign Sam Darnold and they just kinda threw him in there. And then they get he gets hurt the first year, didn't even play the first year. Had to sit there and with a bum knee. 'cause I like their coach, but th his cr the biggest criticism for him has been they do f I mean they do full contact all the time. And like he he's he that's been his it gets people hurt. And that's been his been his issue. They kept saying they're going to pull it back, pull it back, but it again in this camp. They got another offensive lineman get hurt. They've had some guy, Josh Jacobs, I don't know if he hurt, or not Josh Jacobs, Aaron Jones got hurt or something. Left to practice. I mean, the people get banged up all the time because he I don't know if he's trying to make it like a game time situation or what. But this team, I mean, they have the their defense will keep them in ball games. That's the difference. They're they're they're that good. they can run the ball with Jay with Mason and Jones, that should be all right. Josh DeMage: Yeah. All right, number two. And y noticed on Roy: so Josh DeMage: all of that little Detroit off season is at the bottom, so you can skip that. Roy: Okay, so Green Bay was the number two team. They lost in the wild card to Chicago. their big key additions were tackled Hargrave from the Vikings, quarterback Tyrod Taylor. God, that guy's still in the fucking league. Jeez. Linebackers Zaire Franklin, from the Colts and cornerback B Benjamin Saint Justice. contract extensions to Christian Watson, I could get a bigger screen. This is ridiculous. Sean Right Ryan and defense tackle Devontae Wyatt and linebacker Isaiah McDuffie. Major departure as Rashawn Gary to the shitty Cowboys. And then tackle Colby Wooden to the Colts and linebacker Quay Walker to the Raiders in free agency. I guess I'll go first. I mean their defense is a little suspect. but they keep him in ball games. I think Jordan Love's a good quarterback. I I think he'll I think he's got weapons galore. I can't remember if Josh Jacobs got hurt or he's gonna be suspended. Something he suspended Josh DeMage: he's gonna be suspended probably. Brice: Yeah, you like bit Roy: that's what it is. Brice: his girlfriend. Roy: What you have to be in the NFL nowadays, just beat the shit out of your girl. Yeah. Brice: He took a chunk out of her arm, I'm pretty sure. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy: So he's gonna be I mean so I mean they got Christian Watson, I think is really good. Romeo D Dobbs is gonna be, I think, really good. Matthew Golden, I mean they got and Tucker as a tight end. They got some weapons for Jordan Love. What? Josh DeMage: I don't believe Romeo Dobbs is there anymore. Brice: Tucker was her all season last year. Roy: I thought yeah I thought he was still there. Josh DeMage: No Romeo Dobbs is on the Patriots and they lost another wide Roy: Wow. I'm way out then. Josh DeMage: receiver. Roy: But either way, I mean you got Golden and Who I say who'd I say the first Josh DeMage: So Roy: time? Golden and Christian Watson. I mean there's two good receivers. You got who was their backup running back. but either way, Jor I think Jordan Love will be a good I think this team will be and make the playoffs, they'll be decent. they'll make a run. as long as Jordan Wa Love can can t can you know, 'cause anytime you in the playoffs you can get up to Green Bay. It's gonna be tough to be you know, beat Green Bay and Green Bay. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Yeah, they lost Romeo Dobbs to New England and then Daytavi Daytomian Wicks. Day Ta I don't know how to say his name. Went to the Eagles. I'll go next. I think Green Bay's a solid team. They're really well coached. Matt LaFleur, really good coach, always has been. has hasn't won the big game a lot in his career, but I I don't I mean he's never made it to the Super Bowl, so I I really don't think that's much of an issue personally. last year down the stretch they lose I mean, let's be honest, their best player in Michael Parsons tour and ACL. I think that's what he did. I I know he did that. I just don't know if he did anything else. won't be ready, I don't believe. I think he's probably, you know, week four, week five kind of guy. which will help. Roy: Breast go. Josh DeMage: I don't know. I guess we'll just continue. But of course right before his team. but I still think Green Bay is solid. I think they're right in that playoff hunt. I would expect him to be a playoff team or just off. I their receiving room does make me a little nervous. Christian Watson's a good player, good deep ball threat, a lot of injury history with him. Jaden Reed been solid. Again, a little bit Roy: I forgot about Jaden Reed, that's what I was thinking of. Josh DeMage: of injury history there. Outside of that, they really don't have a whole lot. they're gonna run the ball well with Josh Jacobs. They're gonna hopefully play good defense for Mike Parsons. I kind of think it matters if they stay healthy. This team, you know, th they run into some injuries. I could see where this team could slack and, you know, fall to third or fourth in division, not play well. But when all healthy and playing well, this is a playoff team. Well, and then I guess l let's just Roy: Is I guess is he not coming? Back what Josh DeMage: skip it. We'll skip the Bears f for this one. We'll go down to the AFC. Roy: Bring him back. Josh DeMage: Yeah, we'll br we'll come back. 'Cause I'm sure he'll join. AFC North, fourth place. I'll I'll go first. I'll do it. Cleveland Browns. Browns extend or they acquired Tyus Howard from the Houston Texans. And then they have named Deshaun Watson their quarterback 'cause they have they cannot get out his contract. It's a hundred percent guaranteed if he's there or not. So they're gonna play him. they lose Yeah, I was like, they lost these guys. Wyatt Teller and David Njoku are both gone and they really didn't add a whole lot outside of that. they did add, which is not on here, KC Concepcion, number one pick for them, wide receiver. So, I I mean the Browns, I'm gonna be honest, th they're just not good right now. they got a new head coach. The their quarterback plays horrific. I I don't think Sador Sanders is the answer. Desha starting Deshaun Watson makes zero sense to me. It just there there's no upside. None. You can't trade him. Even if he played at an MVP caliber, you can't trade him because his contract's so big. I j I d I really just don't get it. It's gonna be a bad year and I expect to seem to be pretty terrible. Roy: Yeah, no, K Cleveland is absolutely a disaster of how I mean this new coach I think he'd be good, but you your previous people signed you know signing Deshaun Watson who's not not a good quarterback, not a good person, not a good quarterback. H why he's still in the league, that's just unbelievable. how things I mean, I understand you're under contract contract, but man. yeah, Shador Sanders is definitely not I I think he he's got more explosive arm, but I just don't think he's the I don't think he's the guy that to be a full time starting quarterback. This team's got weapons around you know, Junkins, you got Casey Concepcion and things like that. You've got people. It just I just their then their defense has always been decent. I think but they've lost some guys in defense. I just think this team I mean they they stay in ball games They make it interesting, but they're not they're just not that good. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I don't know how on when I did my AI thing for the Cleveland Browns. I don't know how the departure of Myles Garrett didn't find its way on there. So I Roy: No. Yeah. Josh DeMage: I like the direction they're trying to go. You know, I agree. Miles Garrett's an I mean an unbelievable superstar. He's the best defensive player in sport, in my opinion. They got a good return for him. I did. They got two first round picks and a true edge rusher that's ready. Roy: 'Cause they have to do that. They gotta get that stuff done. Josh DeMage: so I liked it. But it's just not their year. They're just not there yet. Next one, Cleveland Browns. Cleveland Browns. I'm looking right on. Cincinnati Bengals. Roy: The Cincinnati Bengals. Josh DeMage: third place. They missed playoffs last year. They acquired Dexter Lawrence in a blockbuster trade that traded their first round pick. So they they trade, I think it was like 17, 13, somewhere in the teens or like that. So basically one for one, Dexter Lawrence for number 13. They signed Boy Mafe from Seattle. Three years 60. They signed Jonathan Allen. And you'll catch a trend here. That's really it. I don't have to go over everyone. They resigned Joe Flacco, Roy: No. Josh DeMage: if that means anything. defense, defense, defense. And that's what this team needs. They don't need any more on offense. Sure, could their offensive line be better? Yes. Could their tight end play be better? Yes. But that offense is good enough with the receivers they have, the running back they have, the quarterback they have. They need defense. And if that defense, it really, I'm not saying it's the same as Dallas, but like if they can just have a average defense, that's a playoff team or a team right there for the playoffs. another thing that this team could struggle with is health. They they have historically not been healthy. but if they're healthy and that defense can play average football, this is a good football team. Roy: Yeah, the I mean, we're on the Bengals here, Bryce. We'll go back and do it. We haven't done the Bears yet. Brice: Okay. Roy: the b the Bengals yeah, defense has been their issue for quite a while. They've got weapons everywhere. Chase Brown, you know, Jim Jim Jamar Jamal Ch Jamar Chase, Josh DeMage: Jamar Chase. Roy: and Hegans. They got guys. Joe Burrow can't stay healthy. I he got hurt in training camp already, just s you know, a bruised calf or whatever they call it. And then Brice: More twisted too. Roy: yesterday freaking Chase got hurt. Josh DeMage: Luckily he's okay though. Roy: that's what they're saying, but you know, sprain ACL and you know, who know you know, different that never that that takes a while to heal, so and get better. So we'll just see have to see. it can the seems stay healthy on offense, can d can his defense improve? That's that's all they need to do. Josh DeMage: Yep. Bengals, Bryce. Brice: Yeah, the Bengals I don't know if the kids already said it. I I heard you say something about their defense being terrible. And it has been, but their offensive line has also been terrible. Joe Burrow's entire career, that's why he's always hurt. He I mean he's taken the most hits out of a quarterback in a season. I think he holds the record. Can you guys still hear me? Am I frozen? Josh DeMage: Yep. You froze for a little Roy: Yeah, you just put your freight f you just froze for a minute. Josh DeMage: bit. Brice: Okay. Yeah, s and then it sucks 'cause then they go out and they just keep acquiring offensive weapons, offensive weapons, offensive weapons and they just expect to outscore everybody. But whenever you literally are just throwing out one or two guys on defense that are worth this shit, you're just not gonna outscore anybody. I don't care how good your offense is. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Rice, we'll come back to the Roy: All right. Josh DeMage: we'll come back to the bears. We're just gonna finish this side. Roy: All right. The second place team was the Baltimore Ravens. They missed the playoffs. They moved on from John Harbaugh to Michigan or to national champion Jesse Mentor as their head coach. Free assigned free c free agent Trey H Hendrickson to a four year $112 million. They got John Simpson as guard. You got Jalen Jalen Hawkins. who's that? Josh DeMage: Tadobie. Roy: And then Tyler Hunt Huntley has another as her backup again. Josh DeMage: He's had like four stints there. Roy: Yeah, that guy. And he always ended up playing. 'cause Jamar Ch J Lamar Jackson keeps Brice: That's where you fit. Roy: getting hurt. this team they're gonna be interesting. They're gonna be able to play defense because I think that's I mean, that's Jesse Minter's calling card. Though their defense will be decent. I mean they lost some players, but they still got they guess they still got weapons. Their offense has been their issue. I mean, they they they got Derek Kendry and they Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson just can't stay healthy. When he's on the field and playing really well, I mean that team is unreal. Zay Flowers, you know, Mark Andrews, they got weapons. Can this team you know, they missed the playoffs last year 'cause I think Lamar how many games did Lamar Jackson miss last year? Josh DeMage: He missed more lasher than normal. Roy: Yeah. yeah. Mm six. So Brice: They also started off the season terrible. Yeah. Josh DeMage: Yeah, they were like what, one and six or something like that. And then they basically won out and barely missed playoffs. Roy: This team could be really good if they just if they can stay healthy and they're w gonna be well coached. I I just I this team's an inter a team that's interesting me. just see how this how a newer newer zeme comes in, how it can really change Josh DeMage: Yeah, yeah, I'll go next 'cause I don't have a whole lot to say 'cause Roy really took it. I I was gonna say this this is one of the more fascinating teams to watch because they lost every portion of their coaching staff. So I mean usually when a new coach comes in they do clean house, but like they lost a The thing that John Harbaugh did when Lamar Jackson became the starter, I believe it was the second season. He totally transformed how he played offense to go around Lamar Jackson. And ever since then, the you know, they're in the shotgun almost every play. They're running zone reads, they're running QB draws, you know, the everything is designed around him. Now when they got Derrick Henry, saw a little bit more under the center traditional, but still, everything was designed around him. Let's see what this new regime looks like. Do they fully commit or do they ask Lamar Jackson, hey, we need you to throw it a little bit more in the pocket. We need you to do it, you know, a little bit more. Because Mentor, like you said, Roy, defensive coach, I'm not gonna say that he's gonna give the keys to whoever the offense coordinator is, but Ground and pound, run the clock. That's what defensive coaches like. They like that time coming off. So I'm really curious. I just want to see what the the flow looks like, what the offensive sets look like for Baltimore to see h how different they are than they've been the last what, ten years, eight years that Lamar's been there. So Brice: Yeah, I was just about to say this team has literally been the same team for ten years. They have an elite defense, they have Lamar Jackson who is consistently a top four or five quarterback in the league when he's healthy. They have Tyler Huntley every other year who can run the exact same offense that Lamar Jackson does because he just runs the ball all the time. And they just lose every year. They get into the playoffs and it just seems like Lamar Jackson shits his pants. I mean, maybe a new coach is what they needed. They clearly couldn't get it done with arguably I thought they were best team a couple of years in a row. And then Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: especially Lamar's MVP season, a couple seasons after that. Josh DeMage: The actual one. Brice: Somebody has to get it done. So the a new Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: coach is probably the best thing for right now. Josh DeMage: And then the Pittsburgh Steelers, they won the division last year with Aaron Rodgers and lost the wild card to Houston in the first round. They signed Rico Dowdle from Carolina to be one of their backs. They also signed Jamal Dean, I believe he was in Tampa. it's where I know him from. and Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: they also signed Mike McCarthy to be their new head coach. and for I I threw it in this for Bryce. Roy: Reuniting with reunion with Aaron Rodgers. Josh DeMage: They also added Jaquan Brisker. From the Chicago Bears to play Brice: More star. Josh DeMage: safety. and Mike Tomlin is out as their coach. Yeah, gonna be a totally different look. Aaron Rodgers is still their quarterback. they do have DK Metcalf. I don't know why it's not on here. Some AI is pretty pissed poor. They added Michael Pittman Jr. from Indianapolis to be another wide receiver. I've liked their moves. This is one of those teams that I always look at now Mike Tomlin's not there. They're just so average. They're just so average in everything. But they're not bad in anything either. So they just sit around that 500. Some years they sneak in, some years they get out. They always lose in the first round no matter what. I think this team can be good, but I'm gonna be honest, at this age, I just don't know how much Aaron Rodgers can really pull them forward. But I also think with his age and his, you know, how good he is at playing quarterback over the long haul, I don't think he's really going to be detrimental to their team either. They're going to run the ball well. Mike McCarthy likes to run the ball. But the defense does have some questions to me, so we'll see. Brice: Yeah, the reason DK's not on here is 'cause he played for him last season, Josh. Josh DeMage: What's that? Brice: DK Metcalf was on the team last year, who wouldn't be a the addition. Josh DeMage: DK Metcalf's still on the team. Brice: I know, you said I don't know why he's not on this list. It's 'cause you Josh DeMage: I said Michael Pittman Jr., didn't I? Brice: well, before that you said DK. Josh DeMage: I was talking about Michael Pittman Junior being the addition. Brice: Yeah, this team they've been the most mediocre team in the world for the past couple of years. I I just don't think Aaron Rodgers has much left. He watch him play, he just seems slow. He se he seems super easily frustrated with players just 'cause I mean, he's probably got an insane amount of knowledge about the playbooks and stuff and then he's got these young guys and he just seems to get flustered during games. Might change with Mike McCarthy, a similar a guy he won with, so I think that they'll probably still be around five hundred. I just don't think that their offense is quite there yet. I think their defense is still stacked. I did Jaquan Brisker, I loved him, but he's just so injury prone, we had to get rid of him. So I don't have much else to say about the Steelers. Roy: I think this team is, yeah, like you guys said, it's gonna be an average team. I mean there'll be around 500, probably be in the playoffs. Their defense I think improved with some of the additions they had. they still had, you know, I think this team will still be, you know, battle tested. They'll be really good. Whether Aaron Rodgers can last the whole season, his problem he hasn't adapted to he doesn't have the arm strength that he used to. So when he zipped the ball to people that back in the day, that was better. Now he has he's he doesn't I don't think he's figured it out. I don't have the zip that I used to. And he's trying to make those same throws and guess what? They're behind or the guys the guys aren't making the catches 'cause they're too high. He's just that's just not Aaron Rodgers. He's got a you know, that's what Tom Brady adapted to what he needed to do. when they got older. A lot a lot of good older quarterbacks do that. Aaron Rodgers hasn't done that. He's too busy arguing about on the shots and bullshit, cook doing still doing his political crap that he wants to do. But hey, he he's still I mean still a good quarterback. We'll just have to see see if he can just hand the ball off and makes just makes he's got good weapons around him. Just may see if they can do they can continue to move the ball down the field. Josh DeMage: All Bryce, I'm gonna let you lead off first. What do you think the division looks like standings wise? Brice: the Cleveland Browns in last place. I honestly have them as the worst record in the NFL. the rapist is not gonna play well this year. Then I have the Baltimore Ravens. Or not sorry, not Baltimore. Pittsburgh Steelers what I tried to say. I was looking at the Ravens when I said it. In third place. I think with the Bengals being healthier this year, hopefully. I think they'll end up being better. I also think the Ravens will be better, so then I'll have Bengals and Ravens. Josh DeMage: Okay. I'll go next. I do agree I do have Cleveland in last place. In third place, I have the Baltimore Ravens. Second place I have the Pittsburgh Steelers and I think Cincinnati's gonna rebound this year, play a little bit better defense, stay healthy, and I'm gonna have Cincinnati win the division. Roy: Hmm. I s I got mine just like Bryce. Cleveland and then I have P Pittsburgh in third. I have Cincinnati second and then Ravens f winning the division. Josh DeMage: and then we will go back. Bryce, we got we talked about everything and then you were up to talk about Green Bay. Brice: Yeah, Green Bay. I don't have much to say about them. Twenty one to three and fuck Green Bay. So we can move on to the Bears. Josh DeMage: All right. Bears, Bryce, I'll let you lead it off. Go ahead. Brice: The Bears lost in the divisional round of the Rams last year in overtime. Their key additions, Navelle Gallimore on a two-year deal, Josh DeMage: Awful. Brice: Jadarek Willis Jr., Cam Lewis, and Marcus Davenport. they traded away DJ Moore of the Buffalo Bills for a second round. And they acquired Garrett Bradbury from the New England Patriots, drafted Stanford tight end Sam Roosh and Yeah. It's w A I do AI has some weird upgrades. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I know. And I was in a rush today so I actually didn't look at it. That's why I Brice: It's weird. I understand Kobe Bryant's not playing this year, but that was like one of our biggest offseason findings after he won a Super Bowl. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: the biggest thing to me this year is Caleb's progression in the offense, obviously. Where Romo Dunze's gonna be with his foot, Lulu Burden's step up and Just all of our weapons without DJ Moore. I think it'll be nice it'll be different, but I'm excited to see it. The defense is what kind of scares me. Last year we led the league in turnovers, but we also led the league in yards given up. So we were a super turnover heavy defense. And whenever we didn't get turnovers, it was hard for us to win ball games. This year they completely revamped the entire backfield. They're all gone. Jaquan Brisker, Kevin Bayard, That dude from Philly who's and s and the Saints, who's been on every Super Bowl team ever in the last twenty years. CJ Gardner Johnson. And Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: then Josh's boy that the Cowboys drafted, the corner. can't remember his name either. Anyway, all of those guys are gone. It's all new faces. We drafted Thielman, who I I can't believe wasn't on here either. Gonna be a huge piece for us. Kobe Bryant going down is gonna be really tough. But I'm just I really think if our secondary can show up, I'm hoping for a Max Crosby trade, but I just don't think it's gonna happen at this point. yeah, the defense is the the biggest thing for me in the secondary. Josh DeMage: Yeah, yeah, I agree. I'll I'll go next and you did you hit on the biggest point for me. Yeah. My biggest question mark is the receiving room, do the kids take the next step? I mean, I'm gonna be honest. I do not believe yet Romo Dunze or well and w Burton didn't really have a chance, have not played a true number one receiving amount yet. Will who's going to step up? They someone has got to become A maybe they don't have to play like an all pro wide receiver yet, but they someone has got to be a guy. You know, someone has got to take a jump. Brice: Well, I really think that's gonna be cost of the model, but Josh DeMage: And then yeah, like you said, Bryce, the secondary. even before the injury, the secondary was still scary. a lot of young guys, the men, use new guys, new system. And then when yeah, the corner goes down with the injury, Bryant, that really hurts because now you gotta add another guy to throw in there that probably wasn't expected to play full-time, maybe a rotational piece that is now full-time. So Yeah, I just I need I need to see the development of the young players for the Book Bears who are stepping up into full time roles. And if they don't take that step, that gets me nervous about their p future. Roy: Yeah, you guys both said it. The defense is a little scary. I think you you ha you gave up way too many yards. can they change that? That's the question. And can your c your de your D Bs you know, the NFL it's the how good your secondary is usually kinda prevents you gets you better. yeah, and like Josh said, does your receiver core take the next step? And you got a lot of young guys. A lot of talented l young guys. Can they become the number ones, the number twos and be you know, the be that guys? That's the only question. I think Caleb Williams has got, you know can get it to him. he needs he needs to throw the ball faster. that's that his development needs to be a little better. But I mean he went from the first year having a t terrible offensive line. A little improved last year. They added some pieces this year. Maybe that's gonna you know give him a little more fluid back there. you know d Swift in the backfield's gonna help a lot. I think I thought he I think he's gonna have a really good year. I but yeah. Brice: I mean I'm common, I'm God. Josh DeMage: That's one thing I would like Roy: If Josh DeMage: to see the Bears do a little bit better. They ran the ball well last year, but I would like to see their run game and especially they have a decent offensive line now. Like they've really invested in it. Really like to see them run Roy: Yeah, use it. Josh DeMage: the ball and help Caleb Williams just take some pressure off a little bit. Because when you get, you know, it's any quarterback in the game, I don't care how good you are. You gotta sit back and drop and pass 40 something times at night. It's just hard because everybody's taking steps back. The defensive, the linebackers are starting back. But if you have that run game, they bring them down. Roy: Well, and they also I mean, you gotta think they they didn't put some in third and long and make they want ca Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy: I mean Kayla Williams got ability to make the play and they want him to make the play every time. Some Josh DeMage: Yeah. Yeah. So Roy: defenses that just they're just the NFL's just describe dis disguised defenses so well. And it's so hard to do that const Josh DeMage: Agree. Roy: consistently. And that hopefully they can run the ball and l get him shorter and get him better. Josh DeMage: Yep. All right. Roy, I'm gonna have you go first on this one. What do you got the NFC North looking like? Roy: All right, I got the Vikings in fourth. I got Detroit third. Sorry, Bryce, I got the Bears second and I got Packers f winning the division. Josh DeMage: Ooh, I'll tell you what, this is the most different we've had. Roy: This was difficult. Josh DeMage: We've we in the I'm talking about AFC and NFC North, biggest difference we've had in the bra in the standing prediction so far. I'll go next, Bryce, I'll let you go last. I'm gonna have Minnesota in last as well. I'm gonna have Green Bay in third. I I'm I'm worried about some of their injury history with their receiving core and defense. You don't know what Michael Parsons is gonna look like coming off an ACL. I'm gonna have the Bears in second, and I I do. I think the fourth place schedule could help Detroit a lot. They're a good team, and I still trust their head coach. he's gonna bite some kneecaps this year, so I'll have Detroit in first. Brice: Yeah, realistically I do agree with Josh the most. I have Vikings in last, Packers in third. I'm gonna put the Lions in second because I can't have another year where I didn't put in first and then the Bears get first. It's just detrimental as a Bears fan. But th no one thought they were gonna have the season they had last year. So hopefully Ben Johnson wants to score the most points of all time this year. So hopefully that actually happens and then Bears get first. Josh DeMage: All right. I think that's all we got for NFL. Roy: Alright, on to the better sport, college football. Alright, so I only got a few things today. This week I asked the guys to to pick the power four champions. They're gonna add to our to our 'cause we're gonna pick game start picking games this week and then at we do that for college and NFL w and when it starts and then at these will be added to the total. Alright. So we're gonna start with the ACC for you guys. Who wants to go first? I mean I'll go first with the ACC if you me to. Okay, go ahead. Brice: Okay. I've got Miami. Josh DeMage: Yeah, I'm also gonna go Miami. Roy: Yep, that I'm going Miami too. It's just I mean, them or Louisville is who I had doing it and I think Miami just a little bit better this year. All right. Brice: I did say Miami was gonna win the championship, so I hope I'd pick him in this too. Roy: how about let's go the big twelve. I don't see if there's any difference in this one. I'll go first. I got Brice: Give me Texas Tech. Roy: gosh dang it, I that's who I was going, Texas Tech. Josh DeMage: Won't be for me. I'm gonna take BYU. Roy: BY you love that BY BYU. Josh DeMage: I I'm I well I'm also really down on Texas Tech, so I mean they don't have a quarterback. I know they're gonna lose a game. Roy: I think they the Tex ca Yeah, but they get they spent too much money on everything else they got. Their defense is gonna be defa good and their offensive line's really good. the next one, SEC. I had to change mine Josh DeMage: This one. Roy: from what I after a bunch of reading today on a team. I'm gonna go go I'm gonna go Brice: Give me okay. Roy: Georgia. I was you I did say Texas last week, but Texas has d already dismissed a guy today or just last week. They've kicked some players off, they sent some players home. some issues are going on in Texas. Josh DeMage: Yeah, you took who I I I would have also picked Georgia, so we keep it with Georgia. Brice: Realistically I pick Georgia but I'm taking Tennessee. They just named our starting quarterback as a true freshman. It's the first time since the like two thousand Josh DeMage: Yeah, I know. It's incredible. Brice: eight they've done that. Maybe he's a stud. Josh DeMage: I like when people need true freshman starters. Roy: Alright, la the last one. The big ten. I already know who Josh was going with. Josh DeMage: I'll go first the soon to be national champions back to back, Indiana Hoosiers. And by the way, I'm not rooting for them. I just that's what I'm predicting. Roy: Yeah, right. You're an Indi you become an Indiana fan instead of an LY fan. Josh DeMage: Absolutely not. Roy: Bryce? Brice: Gimme the Buckeyes. Ohio State. Roy: Be the first time we didn't have the same one. I am going Oregon. I think Oregon's got a really good team this year. So Alright, so Josh DeMage: Alrighty, there you go. Roy: that there's our bowl predictions. Alright. Now we got now it's time it's zero week. College football starts this Saturday. And we got five five games total. So I picked five of And so now Josh DeMage: Yeah. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight games in in true football, but just letting you know. Okay. Okay. Roy: it's time we start picking. We need to come up with we need some people to tell us what we need for it as a punishment for the loser. I mean it's a long season, so we got Josh DeMage: Punishment. And this is this is a multiple month thing. Roy: yeah. Josh DeMage: Through all sport. This, you know, this is Roy's good sport. This is me and Bryce's good sport in NFL. This is what we pride ourselves with the most knowledge as a group of three. This should be the biggest thing. I know baseball is we do it, and it's even longer, but we know more football than we do baseball in theory. So Roy: Alright, let's go with the first game. UNC vs TCU. Josh DeMage: And I'll I'll put a note. I'll also give you guys the lines. Wow, that's a not what I thought the line would be. this game is in Dublin Ireland. This is not in America. So Roy: It's an Ireland Ireland game. Josh DeMage: Yep, 11 a.m. on Saturday. I'll go first. I wish the line was closer. Roy: What's the line? Josh DeMage: The line is TCU minus nine and a half. I was gonna go TCU. I'm actually shocked it's that big in general. But I know that North Carolina is not supposed be great. Bill Belichick era has begun. I know last year it r but I know, but now Roy: It's been going on for about three years. Josh DeMage: it's this is like this is supposed to be the true like he's starting to get full recruiting cycles and things, so but I'm gonna take TCU. Brice: Yeah, I'm gonna take TCU as well. Bill probably takes Josh DeMage: Roy, are you putting it in? Roy: I can. yeah, I'm going I'm going T Okay, I can do that. Josh DeMage: You last year you put in the college ones and then I did NFL. Roy: yeah, I'm going T C U. Bill Belchek will be probably fired by week six of the season. after he just gets Josh DeMage: You think by week eight week fourteen he'll be back in the NFL? Brice: No, he's dating a sixteen year old. Roy: I could probably could be. I think he'd be done coaching if after this little stint. But I don't know. Alright, Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy: next game. This one's a no brainer. USC versus San Sona San Jose State. Josh DeMage: I'm gonna say the one, I'll take USC. Roy: Yeah, USC, that's it's I think the line's like thirty something. Yeah. All right, the next Josh DeMage: Thirty nine and a half. I love early football games lines. Roy: all right. North Carolina State versus Virginia. Josh DeMage: This one's a close one. At Virginia. Roy: Yeah, try to pick some close ones. Josh DeMage: Yep. It's at Virginia. I I'll go first. Roy: And they're they're f they're favored, right? Minus five. Four. Josh DeMage: Virginia's minus four and I am gonna go Virginia. You know Brice: Virginia. Josh DeMage: I've probably picked ten Virginia games in my life on DraftKings and in this. I don't know if I've ever gotten one right. Ever. I feel like every time I say Virginia's gonna win a game Roy: They were really good last year, so you should have picked some of Josh DeMage: I feel like I feel like I never get a Virginia game right ever. But I'm going Virginia. Roy: Alright Bryce, you said Virginia. Brice: Yeah. Roy: I'm gonna go to Virginia. Alright. Next one is it the next Brice: Is the next game Bucknell versus the Richmond Spiders? Roy: one is Bryce's favorite team, Hawaiian. the Rainbow Warriors versus Stanford. Josh DeMage: The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors At Brice: No. For standard. Josh DeMage: Tell you what, that's a lot closer of a line than I would have expected. Stanford is a four point favorite at home. Brice: I'm going Stanford. I will never pick those Rainbow Warriors. Josh DeMage: I have to go to Stanford because I know Andrew Luck is their general manager. Gotta be able to give the quarterback. Roy: Just because Andrew Luckzer's Josh DeMage: Yeah, general manager? Or whatever that four Roy: Who what was the line? It was Stanford five. Josh DeMage: four minus four for Stanford. Roy: I am going to go the whole Rainbow Warriors. Josh DeMage: Let's go, Roy. Brice: You are a rainbow warrior. Roy: Alright. Last one for the week. Memphis versus UNLV. I think Memphis is the fa Josh DeMage: This game is at Allegiance Stadium where the Raiders play in the Las Vegas and the Wada. UNLV is it by the way, I don't know if you have you Roy's been there. Bryce, have you ever been to Vegas? UNLV is half a mile from the strip, so it is literally right next this it is literally a home game. but I'm gonna take Memphis to go on the road into LA and take a win. Brice: What was the wine you said? Josh DeMage: UNLV four and a half minus Brice: Yeah, I'll take U and L V then. Josh DeMage: Give me Memphis. Roy: I'm gonna take U and L V. It's they got they're supposed to be pretty decent this year. So alright. There nope. No, there's there's only eight games total this week. Brice: No Air Force game this week? Did you see Josh DeMage: Nope, they don't play. Yeah, he o he only missed the ones he didn't pick were basically huge lines for the most part. Air Force, I'll look when the Air Force plays. Brice: I'm looking at right now. Did you see their new jerseys? They Roy: Labor Day. I have not seen their new jerseys. Brice: came out with B1 bomber jerseys and they look sick. I might actually get one. I'm gonna have to get a fan of I might have to become a fan of one of the players because their jerseys are so cool. Josh DeMage: Air Force plays September fifth. That's their their open on day against Ducoy. You of I play this team at March Madness and I still can't pronounce it. D it Roy: Decaying. Josh DeMage: looks like Du Duquesne, that's it. That's it. That's how you pronounce it. Looks nothing like that, but okay. But you're right, that is right. Roy: All right, that's all about college football. I mean, remember, yeah, we need some punishments for the Josh DeMage: Yeah. Roy: end of this thing back and it'll be f January, February, so Josh DeMage: Yeah. Yeah, it'll be f yeah, end of January. okay, I'm gonna steamroll through some baseball. We're not gonna go over standings, we're gonna go over our game. We're gonna update our game. Roy is in first place. Four thirteen. Roy: Damn straight. Josh DeMage: I am four games back at four nine. Bryce has hit a little bit of a s standstill. He is at 396, so that puts him set seventeen back Arroya first. And again in this game, first or your last. So it doesn't matter if you finish second or third. So that's why we always go off the winner. award predictions. I've looked at it. A L N L Rookie of the Year. that's very nice. Right, Roy. Brice: Yeah, check that out. Roy: that is cool. No, I didn't no I've not seen that. Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: for baseball, our award predictions are worth points. now it might not matter if you have too big of a lead, but we'll see. NL and AL rookie of the year and NL and A L. Cyum were not counting V P as winners of points. and I I'm gonna be honest, I do not believe that Bryce is going to win anything other than maybe AL Rookie of the Year. He has Kevin McGonagle. Roy. I Christopher Sanchez could win NL Cy Young. I don't think he will, but I mean, I won't say no. and you have Kevin McGonicle. He could also win AL Rookie the Year. I only have one shot, but it's about a 50-50 toss-up for NL Rookie of the Year. I have JJ Weatherhole, and it's either going to be him or Sal Stewart from the Reds. so yeah, that's all I really got for baseball. Dog days of all August playoff spots are still coming, but there hasn't been a whole lot of movement. So next week we might do a standings update. But that's about all I got. You guys? Roy: baseball's g I mean we're getting to the end, so th Josh DeMage: Yep. all right. Miscellaneous Roy. Bryce, you wanna make Roy do his thing? Brice: Yeah, we need your top five from last week. That me and Josh already went over, so Roy: Alright, so I'm gonna I I d I can't find my list, but I I remember I can't remember who it is. Did you go five to four five to one? My number five Josh DeMage: Yep. Five to mu to one. Brice: Yeah. Roy: is my only Michigan Wolverine one, John Johnny O'Corn. 2017 terrible quarterback. Fuck him. I watched Josh DeMage: Never heard. Roy: him blow a twenty-one point lead against Ohio State. ridiculous. Number four would have to be I'm gonna it's gonna be AJ Burnett. I don't know if you remember him for the Yankees. Could not stand that motherfucker. I just couldn't stand him. Huh? Josh DeMage: Wow. Why? You like barely here. He was barely there. Roy: Yeah, he was just I just couldn't stand him for a long time. Josh DeMage: Interesting. That's an odd one for me. Roy: Number three. my number I I I'm trying to think. I I remember having this I I don't remember who my number three was, so I'm just kinda going off the top of my head here. I think it was Jason Giombi. was not a fan of Jason Giombi back in the day. My number two, I don't know if Josh had him on your list, Aaron Hicks was Josh DeMage: Aaron Hicks was my number one. Roy: was my is my number two I didn't did not like. And you guys guessed it last week who my number one was. I cannot Josh DeMage: Nobody. Yep. Roy: st could not ever could never ever doesn't matter. I do not want to shake the guy's hand. If he came up to me and said, Hey, try to get shake, I fuck him. Aaron Arod cannot stand Arod. Never have, never will, and just do not like him. Josh DeMage: Hope that's win a World Series, Roy. Brice: He's arguably the greatest Yankee of all time. Josh DeMage: He's obviously one of the greatest tripstops of Roy: the our the greatest Josh DeMage: all time. So another one. Brice: Roy, did you listen and hear who ours were? Roy: I did not listen. No. Brice: My number one was Nick Foles. Roy: What you loved him? Brice: Hated him. He's Josh DeMage: Yeah. Brice: horrible. Josh DeMage: All right. Roy: I thought of him earlier w when I was gonna say about talk about the Bears. Wishing that Nick Foles was back Josh DeMage: B Bryce, you got one? Roy: for you. Brice: No, I don't have anything for today. Josh DeMage: Roy, okay, you said you had a game or a question. Roy: I just got one question for you guys. Alright. Of the four professional sports, you know, the top four, Josh DeMage: I fucking hate when you do this. Roy: you're gonna tell you're gonna tell me, all right, of all time. Who are who what four teams of any of the f to power four or the top four professional sports has the worst winning percentages of all time? Can you give me four of them? Josh DeMage: Okay. I have got I have got to put the Cleveland Browns in there. I have to. Brice: Yeah, I would say Cleveland Browns have to be on there. Roy: You are wrong. Brice: Of like their whole career or just a season? okay. Roy: the their whole career. The the the their Josh DeMage: No. And Roy: c winning ti winning t winning percentage of all time. Josh DeMage: Wow, I r I would have bet my life that Cleveland was in there. Yeah, but they've been bad historically for a long time. Roy: Cleveland used to be really good back in the 80s and nice. But you gotta think, they've been going Brice: The Jim Brown era. Roy: on since the sixties. Josh DeMage: I think the Browns Roy: I'll give you a hint. I'm gonna give you a hint. No hockey play teams, Josh DeMage: have the w there's no NFL teams, are there? Roy: no hockey teams. Brice: Good. I would never get one. Josh DeMage: There's no NFL teams, are there? Roy: There is one NFL team and no and no major league baseball teams. Josh DeMage: So MBA. Brice: To all MB, It's gotta be I'm thinking it's gotta be like new teams that have just been terrible, Josh. There's no way it's an old team who's been around forever. Josh DeMage: I mean have the net Brice: The nets were really good at one point. Josh DeMage: Cleveland honestly could be. They really historically are not very good. Roy: In the eighties they were good. Brice: Yeah, the eighties they were good, the twenty tens they were good, they're good now. Josh DeMage: Charlotte. Brice: Yeah. Roy: The Charlotte Hornets are the third worst of all time. Josh DeMage: Yeah, that one checks out. What about the pelicans? Pelicans slash warrants. Brice: Yeah, probably the though we get. Roy: No, they just says it says several hornets. Josh DeMage: they s they said Charlotte Horn, okay. Brice: I keep thinking like the magic. The magic of n they've had like a couple good seasons. Josh DeMage: I mean the Shack era was pretty decent and then they had Dwight. Brice: He wasn't there forever. What five years? Josh DeMage: I mean yeah, and then Dwight was there for what, like eight? Brice: Yeah, I don't think they won very many games with them. Josh DeMage: I they're de yeah, I mean they're decent now, but yeah. Roy: Alright, I'm gonna give a hint so I can move this along. There are the two teams that you're thinking of NBA are decent now. One's really good right now. Brice: Seventy six years. Josh DeMage: No. It's not spurs. Ooh, the thick Were the sonics ever good? Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: Do you think it's a thunder? Roy: Sonics good. They made in the finals in ninety th the not early nineties. Josh DeMage: I know I I know like one little stretch, but I don't know how long the Sonics were a team, so The Nuggets, I cannot Yeah, no. Brice: The piston's got a good error. There's no way that Roy: Think more to the west side. Central to west. Josh DeMage: I mean it could be the Brice: The clippers. Roy: The Clippers are the fourth worst of all time. Josh DeMage: I wouldn't have guessed that one. Brice: That's crazy. Lob City was so good. Roy: They were terrible back in the day. I mean Josh DeMage: What about the kings? Brice: Yeah, the Sacramento Kings have to be on there. Roy: Nope. Brice: There's no way. So we're missing one more NBA team. Josh DeMage: Not the sun. Roy: That's not even the worst team. Josh DeMage: Not the nuggets. Portland? Roy: Think northern side. Josh DeMage: Portland? Roy: Think more central. Central Josh DeMage: I didn't think so. Yeah. Roy: North. Josh DeMage: Minnesota Timberwolves. Brice: Yeah, no. Roy: The Minnesota Terwolves are the w is the lowest in the NBA of all time. Brice: That shocks me. Josh DeMage: Yeah, that does shock me too. Roy: And then our who's the worst of all time? It's an NFL team. One of the few No, for Josh DeMage: I thought Cleveland had the worst NFL thing of all time. Roy: years this team was terrible. I mean back I'm your tech I mean they I mean at one point they had a twenty six game losing streak. Josh DeMage: I don't have a claw. Roy: You know they have several super super Brice: Makes sense. Roy: bowl tiles. Think south. Brice: Texans. Josh DeMage: Dolphins. I'm I know one season, Brice: No. They had an undefeated season. There's no Josh DeMage: and other than that I don't know anything. No, it's not the Bucks. Roy: The Bucks, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the worst winning percentage of all time. Brice: That's crazy. Josh DeMage: Really. Roy: You know they had Super Bowl team. A couple of Super Bowl wins. Josh DeMage: Interesting. All right. Brice: These two Super Bowls. Roy: Yeah, I think they and sixteen at one point. They lost twenty six straight games. Brice: That's crazy. Josh DeMage: Pretty bad. Alright. we're at fifty-three minutes, so mine won't take more than seven. So we'll be out of here under an hour. I'm gonna do my normal game. Try to mix it up with some teams I don't use as often. But I need you guys to name me a current player who plays for the Houston Astros. Brice: I got one. Roy: All right. I I'm gonna Josh DeMage: Go ahead. Roy: say I'll d ho Jose Atuve 'cause I know you won't ever put him. Brice: Hayden was nesky. Josh DeMage: I have him on my dynasty team. I knew you guys were I knew one of you would say Altube, so I didn't put him 'cause I didn't want you to get out in the first run. I put Jeremy Payne you, but I knew you were gonna say it. Next one. This is where it starts. I need you to name me any Marlins pitcher of all time. I was in my bag for this one. Hold on. Roy: Okay, I got one. I got one. Josh DeMage: Hold on. Brice: Sandy Alcantara Josh DeMage: Good night, Bryce. Andy Alcantra. I knew you were gonna go recent. I Brice: Fucker. I thought you would target me. I was gonna go Edward Cabrera. Josh DeMage: knew you were gonna go recent. That's why I did it. Go ahead, Roy. Roy: I was gonna go Dontell Willis. Josh DeMage: That's a good answer. second one, Bri you can't hear it. Brice: Don't show it, dude. Roy: What you sh Brice: What you doing? Roy: I can't read it. No I can. Josh DeMage: There you go, it's backwards. Brice: It's not backwards. Josh DeMage: on my screen it's backwards for you. next one. I need you to name me a current player who has played for the Brewers but no longer plays for the Brewers. It felt good to be both early. Roy: Played for the brewers but no longer plays for the brewers. Josh DeMage: A lot of names that could work here. Bryce, you got name? Brice: Yeah. Josh DeMage: You got you're already out, you Roy: I got one. Josh DeMage: can go. Roy: Josh Hader. Brice: Andrew Bond. Josh DeMage: Would you say bro Bryce? Brice: Andrew Vaughn. Josh DeMage: Ooh, Andrew Vaughan does he not play for the Brewers right now? Brice: I don't think so. I'll look it up. Josh DeMage: I thought he did. I thought he was hurt. Roy, I had a fifty fifty coin flip on who I wanted to use and I chose Devin Williams and not Josh Ader. Roy: I gonna go Woodruff. Josh DeMage: he's still technically there, he's just hurt. He just he's Roy: Gosh, I thought was gone. Josh DeMage: barely played. I almost went Hater and I went, Nah, I've used Hater before. Let me go Devin Williams. Yankees legend, by the way. Roy: Well which Contreras I was trying to think Contreras, which I Josh DeMage: William plays there currently, he's their catcher. Roy: thought one of was played in the left. Okay, never mind then. I mean, I went Josh DeMage: No. Roy: way off. Josh DeMage: Yeah, you are. Yeah, I thought he was hurt for a while. but but I didn't know if maybe Brice: I guess he is there, he just hasn't played very much. Yeah, I didn't realize he was on the team. Josh DeMage: they released him recently and I missed it. But all right, next one. Roy you're still alive. This one was this this should be a fun one. I need you to name me an active catcher who has had five stolen bases in one season. Roy: An active catcher that's had five stolen bases in one season. Wow. Josh DeMage: Or more. Didn't have to be five on the dot, like five or more. Brice: Do they have Do they have to play could they be like a primary something and have played catcher? Josh DeMage: No, gotta be a you gotta be a primary catcher. Brice: I'm not sure if this guy's a primary Roy: Yeah. Brice: catcher or not. Josh DeMage: Now, if he did a primary catcher season, like I'll use can't use this guy, I'll use him. Wilson Contreras, he did primary catching, I would count those years. Roy: Well, I gotta think of a catcher. Brice: The name I got, I'm not sure if he was a primary. Josh DeMage: I know, I kinda thought this was a fun one. Like you would think most of would have, but then you think a catcher's like I don't know, many quick ones. Roy: I don't know any quick ones. Like I none of them steal. Josh DeMage: I know I knew one. Like for I knew one without even looking, so I put his name just in case that's who you put. But Roy: One that's fast? Josh DeMage: Yeah. I mean I wouldn't call him fast, but he was athl he's athletic. Roy: Man, let's think about this for a minute. Josh DeMage: This is a good question. Brice: Yeah, the name in my Josh DeMage: Right. Brice: head I just don't know if he only played catcher. Roy: I got a name, but I don't know if he stole anything. I just don't know if anybody steals any ki any I am gonna go Stevenson from the Reds. Josh DeMage: I would think he's got it, but Tyler Stevenson. that was the last five games. I go, wow, he's never had a stolen base in his career. why can I only see here we go. Stolen bases. He has two stolen bases in seven years. He's never gotten more than Roy: Geez. Josh DeMage: one. That's crazy. I I actually thought you would have been right. Why Roy: I d I mean who who who would have got who's who you who's the answer? Josh DeMage: The one that I knew for sure was JT Real Muto. He's always been athletic. Brice: I was gonna say Craig Video. Roy: I wouldn't even think he would 'cause he didn't s he didn't steal much. Josh DeMage: his earlier years he did. JT Rio Muto has eight eight I'll go in in the seasons. Eight, twelve, eight, three, nine, four, thirteen, twenty-one, sixteen. So I mean he used to run in the you know, mid late twenty teens and twenty twenties. Rice, who was the name you were thinking of? Brice: Craig Biggio. Josh DeMage: he's a primary catcher. But he's not a current player. No, it it was active. Brice: Yeah. But he also played Roy: Are we talking about all time? Josh DeMage: but that's okay. All Brice: I thought we're doing all the time. Josh DeMage: right, Roy's out, so I win. Next one. I need you to name me any Diamondbacks outfielder of all time. Roy: We've gonzales. Josh DeMage: I also put Luis Gonzalez. Brice: Corbin Carroll. Roy: Did you really? Josh DeMage: Yeah, I really did. Well, I figured at this point I might have Bryce out, so I took some shots for you. Sorry, Bryce. next one, and this is the last one. Give me a player, and I looked this up, a lot more names than I thought. Give me a player who's played for the Braves and the Athletics in the last thirty years. Brice: Mattelson. Roy: That's I mean that's the common name you would definitely say, Matt Olson. Josh DeMage: Is that your guest? Roy: No, I'm gonna try to think of somebody different, just as I let's see if I can think of anybody different. A's Josh DeMage: Because I said metal. Roy: and Braves. A Brice: I'm sure Jesse Chavez has been there at some point. Josh DeMage: Well he I don't know if you can count because he played for the Braves twelve different times. Brice: I know. Josh DeMage: I don't know how many teams he played for he just kept playing for the Braves. Let's look at that to right. Roy: Gel Tahada. I don't know if he did or not. I was just thinking Josh DeMage: Jesse Chavez. Did play for both. you said Miguel Tejada. Roy: I don't think he did, but I was just taking a shot out of the dark just I know he played for s different teams. Josh DeMage: Nope. Nope. Yeah, Nep. Oakland, Baltimore, Houston, San Fran, San Diego, and Kansas City. I went with Matt Olson. another one was Christian Pashe. he was a prospect, but he played for both. the catcher, Sean Murphy was also around that same time. And Roy: yeah. Josh DeMage: then the one that Sean Murphy was traded for was Shay Langaliers. He's played for both. There's more Roy: None of Josh DeMage: other like pictures, but like those were some of the more modern names. but okay. hit the like button, subscribe, comment, NL East, or NL East, NFC and AFC East next week, and Roy: NFL and AFC yeast.
