- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes six thirty four through six thirty six,
- 0:17Speaker 1: A Pirate Noble Cavendish, The Faithful Reunion, Bellamy the Hyena,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and a super rookie Bartalomeo the Cannibal. In these episodes,
- 0:31Speaker 1: we are beginning the tournament and there are so many
- 0:36Speaker 1: people to keep track of kids. Oh lord, the characters.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Welcome to spoil Me.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:06Speaker 1: very much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Thank you, Florian.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Florian has also joined me here in the chat along
- 1:13Speaker 1: with Alana, so welcome to both of you, y'all. This
- 1:19Speaker 1: is going to be very interesting. I'm so curious, like
- 1:24Speaker 1: looking back after I finish this arc, what it is
- 1:29Speaker 1: going to feel like in comparison to what I am
- 1:31Speaker 1: sort of expecting right now, because a part of me
- 1:34Speaker 1: is sort of thinking that this tournament is going to
- 1:37Speaker 1: last another like twelve episodes minimum, probably, and yet this
- 1:43Speaker 1: show can really kind of be surprising and do things
- 1:47Speaker 1: that I wasn't expecting at all. So it's possible that
- 1:51Speaker 1: we'll be done with this tournament in like four episodes.
- 1:53Speaker 1: And then I will be very, very startled when we
- 1:56Speaker 1: move on to a completely different thing. Oh, Florian has
- 2:02Speaker 1: a character sheet, not like the D and D type,
- 2:05Speaker 1: but the type that has our big players' names and
- 2:08Speaker 1: their powers. Thank you Florian for creating this. It is
- 2:12Speaker 1: super helpful. Fuji Torah in parentheses is show is the
- 2:20Speaker 1: parentheses the nickname? Or is that his last name or
- 2:26Speaker 1: first name? Just curiosity here, but yeah, I really appreciate this, Florian,
- 2:33Speaker 1: thank you so much. And Alana says, it's okay not
- 2:37Speaker 1: to remember most of the people. I definitely do not
- 2:41Speaker 1: plan on trying to memorize anybody, but it's difficult when
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm recording to just be like. And then the other
- 2:48Speaker 1: guy says, and then that one guy says, so like,
- 2:52Speaker 1: having this to refer to people will at least be
- 2:54Speaker 1: helpful so that I'm not just being like, And then
- 2:56Speaker 1: he said it's it's like Kuza is also called Akaino.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I think nickname. Alana says, Fuji Tora is the nickname
- 3:06Speaker 1: Withstria Tiger is the translation. Ooh okay, Florian says, yes,
- 3:15Speaker 1: would love to play a D and D one piece.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I am really surprised that that is not out there
- 3:21Speaker 1: like an RPG game. But anyway, okay, so let's uh,
- 3:26Speaker 1: let's start things off here because we you guys, probably
- 3:31Speaker 1: if you listen to the last episode already may remember
- 3:35Speaker 1: the fact that I was wondering how Lufu would handle
- 3:39Speaker 1: that he has to be under the radar, And it
- 3:44Speaker 1: turns out that the way he handles it is by
- 3:48Speaker 1: blowing his cover almost instantly, but then regrouping and actually
- 3:55Speaker 1: like realizing, oh, I fucked up, and I do need
- 3:57Speaker 1: to be more careful about this, which I will be honest,
- 4:00Speaker 1: I didn't expect. I kind of thought that as soon
- 4:03Speaker 1: as he blew it, he was just going to be like, oh, yeah, whatever,
- 4:06Speaker 1: who cares, it's too late now, and that he would
- 4:08Speaker 1: almost there would be like a relief there of him
- 4:11Speaker 1: not not having to keep up the charade anymore. But
- 4:16Speaker 1: instead we're getting a loofy that is actually like attempting
- 4:20Speaker 1: to keep things under wraps a little bit. And he
- 4:24Speaker 1: also is uh like, everybody just assumes that they misheard him,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and they accuse him of not enunciating enough because when
- 4:35Speaker 1: his breastplate falls off and you can see that his
- 4:38Speaker 1: challenger name says Lucy, everybody is like, oh, God, why
- 4:42Speaker 1: don't you enunciate better? And I was just laughing so
- 4:47Speaker 1: hard at the idea that he says he's loofy. He
- 4:51Speaker 1: says he's going to be King of the Pirates. All
- 4:55Speaker 1: of this is just like mo o for him. Now
- 4:58Speaker 1: everybody should know this, but they still are just like, no,
- 5:02Speaker 1: that tracks, yeah, no, this is definitely just a guy
- 5:05Speaker 1: whose name is Lucy, because that makes more sense. And sure, sure, guys,
- 5:13Speaker 1: fine if that works for you whatever. So I was
- 5:20Speaker 1: kind of delighted though, because y'all know, I was really
- 5:23Speaker 1: not sure how is he going to handle this, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: the way he handles it is by fucking up right
- 5:29Speaker 1: away and then kind of being like, hmm, well, I
- 5:34Speaker 1: guess I'll try a little which I don't want to
- 5:37Speaker 1: go too far and say that this is like actual
- 5:39Speaker 1: growth for Loopy. I feel like that's pretty overstating it,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I would say, but it was a kind of welcome
- 5:48Speaker 1: surprise to me. So anyway, I'm sorry, guys, I'm all
- 5:54Speaker 1: over the place, but this Cavendish I don't know what
- 6:02Speaker 1: to make of Cavendish. Cavendish is the kind of character
- 6:08Speaker 1: that a part of me feels like I should find
- 6:13Speaker 1: him more entertaining than I do, because he.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Seems so.
- 6:19Speaker 1: He's built for a type of comedy, like a type
- 6:24Speaker 1: of goofy over the top energy that should appeal to me,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but I can't quite get There's not enough to him,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and I kind of want there to be a bit more.
- 6:45Speaker 1: It may come to pass that there is more eventually.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Right now, what we've got is him introducing himself and
- 6:53Speaker 1: then later on him on the sidelines with Lufy like
- 6:55Speaker 1: telling him who everybody is and explaining there their reputations
- 7:01Speaker 1: and why the crowd is reacting the way that they are,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and that is helpful. It's kind of giving him something
- 7:08Speaker 1: else to do besides just be who he is. But
- 7:14Speaker 1: he is, it just feels like there's something else that's
- 7:18Speaker 1: like missing in this formula here. But the deal with
- 7:21Speaker 1: Cavendish is that he is a pretty boy who, as
- 7:26Speaker 1: he puts it, has had everything handed to him on
- 7:29Speaker 1: a silver platter because of his incredible good looks, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: he believes that he is the best one to hold
- 7:37Speaker 1: this power of the flame flame Fruit and also has
- 7:43Speaker 1: a grudge against Loofy, and it seems like against everybody
- 7:48Speaker 1: who fought in the War of the Best because up
- 7:52Speaker 1: until the point when all of this was getting publicity,
- 7:56Speaker 1: he was like on the front page of all of
- 7:58Speaker 1: the newspapers and getting a lot of accolades and admiration
- 8:04Speaker 1: from the ladies. And then when that went away because
- 8:08Speaker 1: Lufy was in the headlines, he was very, very resentful
- 8:13Speaker 1: of it, which I do actually really like in terms
- 8:19Speaker 1: of a uh, what's the word I want? In terms
- 8:23Speaker 1: of like a petty grudge. You know what, guys, I
- 8:27Speaker 1: am here for the pettiness. I really am, and I
- 8:32Speaker 1: wouldn't mind even a little bit more of this in
- 8:35Speaker 1: an exaggerated way. But uh, Alana says, I guess as
- 8:42Speaker 1: well because his gag is kind of like Duval, I'm
- 8:45Speaker 1: so beautiful, except he actually is a pretty boy. Alana,
- 8:48Speaker 1: I was like expecting, I forgot to mention this last time.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But when we just see everybody like reacting to him
- 8:55Speaker 1: coming into the room and him like making women faint
- 8:58Speaker 1: and stuff, I was to be like, wait, is this
- 9:01Speaker 1: gonna be Duval? Like he didn't seem to have this
- 9:04Speaker 1: effect on everybody before, But he did get made better
- 9:09Speaker 1: looking by being kicked in the face, which is still
- 9:12Speaker 1: just one of the best plot lines that's ever happened.
- 9:14Speaker 1: On this show, I maintain, so, yeah, I was also
- 9:19Speaker 1: thinking of Duval, but this guy clearly has even more
- 9:25Speaker 1: riz as the kids are saying these days than Duvall does.
- 9:29Speaker 1: So this uh the way that this guy is like
- 9:36Speaker 1: reacting to Loofy. It's at the end of these three
- 9:41Speaker 1: episodes he finally gets confirmation that this actually is Loofy
- 9:47Speaker 1: because somebody recognizes Loofy and doesn't. Lufy doesn't even attempt
- 9:52Speaker 1: to be like, what, No, who do you mean when
- 9:55Speaker 1: you say Loofy? I've never heard of him. Instantly, this
- 9:58Speaker 1: guy is like Loofy and Lufy's like, yeah, what, but
- 10:01Speaker 1: which I did think was actually extremely understandable. There are
- 10:06Speaker 1: times when Lufi is a goof and I'm just like
- 10:09Speaker 1: to get it together, and then there are times where
- 10:12Speaker 1: he's a goof and I'm like yeah. But honestly, if
- 10:15Speaker 1: anybody was asking was like said, hey, are you Natasha,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I don't feel like I would be good at subterfuge guys.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I really just don't. There are some things that I
- 10:30Speaker 1: can click on my anxiety on to a high enough
- 10:35Speaker 1: level that I will be able to stop the instantaneous
- 10:41Speaker 1: reactions that I normally have, because I will be in
- 10:43Speaker 1: such caution mode that I will like everything will have
- 10:48Speaker 1: shifted over for me, and then there are going to
- 10:51Speaker 1: be some things that I feel are not going to
- 10:57Speaker 1: be second nature or feel quite urgent enough, and I
- 11:01Speaker 1: would just do the thing that I usually do, like
- 11:06Speaker 1: without really considering. And so even though a lot of
- 11:10Speaker 1: times I lay the fact that Lufy blows it over
- 11:15Speaker 1: and over again just at the feet of him being
- 11:18Speaker 1: incautious or failing to fully appreciate the difficulties of the
- 11:23Speaker 1: situation or the dangers, then there are times like this
- 11:26Speaker 1: where I feel like maintaining this disguise for so long
- 11:33Speaker 1: during all of this like going on, with all of
- 11:35Speaker 1: these different people coming in and out, it does feel
- 11:39Speaker 1: like kind of a lot to ask and like it
- 11:43Speaker 1: would be hard to keep this in mind. It's not
- 11:47Speaker 1: like he got hyped up before going into this by
- 11:51Speaker 1: being told like, hey man, we have to you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: we have to do this underground, like you need to
- 11:59Speaker 1: be in what do they call it when cops do
- 12:02Speaker 1: this and undercover operation, and so they think up a
- 12:07Speaker 1: character and do a whole thing, and he it was
- 12:09Speaker 1: just sort of a spur of the moment thing that
- 12:11Speaker 1: he got thrown into so honestly, I'm not even like,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I'm not even I don't My expectations weren't high to
- 12:18Speaker 1: begin with, and I'm not even that mad at him.
- 12:20Speaker 1: But we don't actually see what Cavendish does when he
- 12:25Speaker 1: finds out, because there's just the initial reaction of him
- 12:28Speaker 1: shouting like what as he realizes, and then almost immediately
- 12:35Speaker 1: the episode is over. And I am actually kind of
- 12:39Speaker 1: curious because there is so much that could happen as
- 12:45Speaker 1: a results of this. But he has been chatting with
- 12:50Speaker 1: Loofy and gotten like amiable enough that I can't decide
- 12:54Speaker 1: is this a guy who is going to jump right
- 12:56Speaker 1: into I want to fight you mode? Or is this
- 13:02Speaker 1: gonna be a dude who's like, well, you don't seem
- 13:06Speaker 1: that bad, so never mind, we could be cool together.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Or perhaps like Lufy could inadvertently get this guy on
- 13:17Speaker 1: the front page with him and get attention on him,
- 13:20Speaker 1: and so this guy will be kind of like, all right, well,
- 13:21Speaker 1: you sort of made it up to me. I'm just
- 13:24Speaker 1: trying to think through like the very many directions that
- 13:27Speaker 1: this could go in, because I Cavendish feels like he's
- 13:32Speaker 1: gonna be more of a thing than a lot of
- 13:34Speaker 1: the other side characters that we have been introduced to,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and I may be totally wrong about that, but there's
- 13:42Speaker 1: just you know, we've met so many new people already
- 13:45Speaker 1: in this arc, and for the most part, the way
- 13:51Speaker 1: they have all been introduced has been like in the arena,
- 13:55Speaker 1: in the ring, so to speak. They're getting their big
- 13:57Speaker 1: announcements as they step in the way that you do
- 14:02Speaker 1: in like pro wrestling, you know, that kind of vibe,
- 14:05Speaker 1: and it feels much less personal. It feels like we're
- 14:08Speaker 1: being told all of this that we can be on
- 14:10Speaker 1: the same page as the rest of the audience that
- 14:13Speaker 1: is out in this stands. But with Cavendish, the way
- 14:17Speaker 1: he's introduced and it being so personal to Lufy and
- 14:21Speaker 1: one on one kind of thing, makes me feel like
- 14:24Speaker 1: there's going to be a little bit more going on
- 14:27Speaker 1: with him, and I kind of hope that's true, because
- 14:31Speaker 1: I would like to see a bit more of him.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what I also thought of, you guys,
- 14:36Speaker 1: was what is Sanchi gonna do If Violet gets a
- 14:42Speaker 1: look at Cavendish and reacts the way that all of
- 14:45Speaker 1: the other ladies have been reacting. I just feel like
- 14:50Speaker 1: that might be something that makes him upset, and you
- 14:55Speaker 1: know that's not necessarily an inherently bad thing. Maybe he
- 15:00Speaker 1: just needs to be upset sometimes because Sanji, honestly, you're
- 15:04Speaker 1: a bit of a pain in the ass. I've enjoyed
- 15:06Speaker 1: seeing you happy. These episodes are a lot of Sanji
- 15:09Speaker 1: being so so happy, and it is sort of fun
- 15:14Speaker 1: to have him like this, love being sort of requited,
- 15:18Speaker 1: at least temporarily, instead of him just desperately wanting women
- 15:22Speaker 1: who have very little interest in him. So it's a
- 15:25Speaker 1: nice change. But also angry. Sanji is very funny. He's
- 15:32Speaker 1: quite funny, so I can't help but be a little
- 15:35Speaker 1: bit like I wouldn't be upset about it. That could work.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Let's do that. However, I also don't want Sonji's heart
- 15:45Speaker 1: to be broken. It's fine, so okay. Loofy finds out
- 15:50Speaker 1: that there is a weight limit, goes and gets weighed
- 15:53Speaker 1: and is found to be far over the limit, so
- 15:56Speaker 1: he has to take off bunch of his uh, his
- 16:00Speaker 1: armor and whatnot. And we have Cavendish doing his whole.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Like when I say doing his whole, I actually that's
- 16:10Speaker 1: the wrong way to say this. Cavendish is reflecting upon
- 16:16Speaker 1: the nature of man when he talks to Loofy and
- 16:20Speaker 1: the fact that everybody who is here is only here
- 16:24Speaker 1: to watch bloodshed. These people are eager for the deaths
- 16:31Speaker 1: of the competitors, and they are eager for a brutal,
- 16:39Speaker 1: like bloody fight. These people are thirsting for the blood
- 16:44Speaker 1: of the fighters. And so the way that he is
- 16:48Speaker 1: talking about this, it's like, oh, you know, it's just
- 16:52Speaker 1: revealing man's most basic nature, that kind of like faux
- 16:56Speaker 1: philosophical you know, the beast and inside every man sort
- 17:01Speaker 1: of thing. And this is one of those like types
- 17:06Speaker 1: of monologues that I always find genuinely funny because it's
- 17:12Speaker 1: so it's so over the top in terms of like
- 17:18Speaker 1: what it's really saying about people in a way that
- 17:23Speaker 1: feels I'm just being honest about the brutality of man,
- 17:28Speaker 1: but to me is actually like really pessimistic and kind
- 17:34Speaker 1: of projecting a lot of the time. You know, it
- 17:39Speaker 1: gives for me the same sort of energy as like
- 17:42Speaker 1: fake alphas online who try and being like, well, you know,
- 17:46Speaker 1: men or are supposed to be leaders and the world
- 17:50Speaker 1: should be like respectful and if you aren't a leader,
- 17:56Speaker 1: you're sheep. Like that kind of energy, you know what
- 17:59Speaker 1: I'm saying it's giving this, except Cavendish doesn't actually do
- 18:03Speaker 1: anything to earn any of this. He's just saying all
- 18:06Speaker 1: of this and then being like, and I am going
- 18:08Speaker 1: to win all of this just because I am the prettiest.
- 18:13Speaker 1: And it's such a funny like confluence of everybody's fear
- 18:17Speaker 1: and anger. Their primal bestial urges are going to be
- 18:20Speaker 1: on display, and they're free to let it out here.
- 18:23Speaker 1: And yet as he's saying this, he's like looking at
- 18:29Speaker 1: a rose and just pulling the uh, the petals off
- 18:35Speaker 1: and eating them. You guys, let me ask you something.
- 18:41Speaker 1: This was a thing in the latest Hunger Games book,
- 18:46Speaker 1: a Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, where our girl was
- 18:53Speaker 1: eating rose petals. Have you ever eaten a rose petal?
- 19:01Speaker 1: I'm asking Alana or Florian in the chat here if
- 19:04Speaker 1: either of you have, because this is the second time
- 19:10Speaker 1: that I have seen this played this way, and I
- 19:13Speaker 1: have never ever seen anyone eat one. I have never
- 19:19Speaker 1: seen it portrayed as just a sort of like ordinary
- 19:24Speaker 1: way to treat a rose, except like both times have
- 19:29Speaker 1: been very recently in this past year, and now I
- 19:33Speaker 1: feel like there's a thing that's out there in the
- 19:36Speaker 1: world that people are doing that. I thought when I
- 19:39Speaker 1: read it in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was meant
- 19:41Speaker 1: to be like a particularly peculiar thing that one of
- 19:45Speaker 1: our main characters was doing. But then I saw him
- 19:48Speaker 1: do this here, and I suddenly was like, hold on,
- 19:50Speaker 1: hold on, hold on. Is this meant to be like
- 19:53Speaker 1: a super genteel thing, because the character in ballad is
- 19:58Speaker 1: kind of trying to keep up this certain image, and
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm wondering if that's like part of it, if this
- 20:06Speaker 1: is supposed to be an indicator of like a class thing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: But Alta says, Nope, it looked gross, and Florian says,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think on a fancy salad in a restaurant. Okay,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I could see something like that. Like you know, edible
- 20:25Speaker 1: flowers are definitely a thing, and a lot of people
- 20:27Speaker 1: will sugar them and then use them to decorate cakes
- 20:30Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But those are I see them
- 20:36Speaker 1: differently because they are garnishes on an otherwise totally acceptable
- 20:42Speaker 1: type of dish. A piece of cake with like one
- 20:45Speaker 1: or two sugared violets on the top. That's the main
- 20:48Speaker 1: thing here, is our piece of cake, and then the
- 20:50Speaker 1: sugared violets they add a sort of herbal flavor, and
- 20:55Speaker 1: they're very beautiful, but they're not the main event. And
- 20:58Speaker 1: it feels very different from me to just pull off
- 21:00Speaker 1: a rose petal and eat it by itself. That feels
- 21:06Speaker 1: very strange. So I don't know anybody listening, If you
- 21:10Speaker 1: are somebody who has particular feelings on this, I would
- 21:12Speaker 1: be curious to hear Alana says, I've had rose water
- 21:17Speaker 1: in Baclava, but the petals, I feel like would be
- 21:20Speaker 1: not nice. I really don't like. Now. I'm kind of curious,
- 21:23Speaker 1: but I am sure that there are certain types of
- 21:27Speaker 1: roses that are probably not good to eat, either because
- 21:32Speaker 1: they don't taste good or because there are certain like
- 21:34Speaker 1: pesticides and things used on them and it's not good
- 21:36Speaker 1: for you. I don't know. But all this to say
- 21:40Speaker 1: that if this is going to be his ongoing thing,
- 21:44Speaker 1: is that he's always eating rose petals. I think that's
- 21:47Speaker 1: kind of fun and I sort of enjoy it. I
- 21:50Speaker 1: also love how Cavendish is like speaking to Loofy and
- 21:56Speaker 1: like getting very upset at the fact that Lufy is
- 22:00Speaker 1: just going and getting weighed or checking out other weapons
- 22:03Speaker 1: or reacting to other people in the room and not
- 22:07Speaker 1: giving one hundred percent of his attention to Cavendish because
- 22:13Speaker 1: this kind of it's so funny. It's being played as
- 22:17Speaker 1: Cavendish just can't stand to not be the center of attention,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and if he is being ignored, that is something in
- 22:24Speaker 1: particular that he cannot stand, and it's because he's a
- 22:28Speaker 1: spoiled brat who is used to having all the attention,
- 22:32Speaker 1: YadA YadA. And while I am completely willing to go
- 22:36Speaker 1: along with that in terms of a character thing, I
- 22:39Speaker 1: also have to admit that it drives me bonkers when
- 22:45Speaker 1: I am talking to somebody and I can tell that
- 22:47Speaker 1: they have completely stopped listening or have tuned me out.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It gets mug goat you guys, It really does. So
- 22:57Speaker 1: it was a part of me. It was just like,
- 22:58Speaker 1: I don't feel like Cavendish is being that on reasonable here. However,
- 23:02Speaker 1: I have to admit I also am a giant attention
- 23:05Speaker 1: whore like I am, and so Cavendish being pissed that
- 23:10Speaker 1: he got knocked out of the headlines because of loofy,
- 23:13Speaker 1: I don't think I would be like this about it,
- 23:16Speaker 1: but I understand just being kind of like, excuse me,
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'm used to a certain level of treatment here and
- 23:22Speaker 1: I'm not getting it, and I don't like it. What
- 23:24Speaker 1: are you doing? I'm right here. Please pay attention to
- 23:27Speaker 1: me the way that I deserve. So that's Cavendish. So
- 23:32Speaker 1: let's jump ahead a little bit to the statue, which
- 23:37Speaker 1: there's a really weird thing with this. So we've got this,
- 23:42Speaker 1: of course, half naked woman fighter with pink hair, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: I think her eyes are also pink. And this dude
- 23:51Speaker 1: who is like he's been immortalized in this statue. He's
- 24:00Speaker 1: wearing almost an identical outfit to the one that Loufy
- 24:04Speaker 1: has on now that he has had to get rid
- 24:06Speaker 1: of a bunch of the other parts of his outfit.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I just really Rebecca's outfit, you guys. I think this
- 24:16Speaker 1: is the one that Florian was warning me about. Floran,
- 24:19Speaker 1: is this the one? I think that this might be
- 24:26Speaker 1: the least amount of clothing that we have ever seen
- 24:29Speaker 1: on a female character outside of like a shower scene.
- 24:34Speaker 1: So your girl is wearing knee high what looks to
- 24:38Speaker 1: be like greeves, metal grieves, and like, I don't know
- 24:45Speaker 1: what they're called when they come up over your knees,
- 24:49Speaker 1: let's just say knee high metal boots. Essentially uh, and all,
- 24:58Speaker 1: she's got this loin cloth of gold coins kind of
- 25:06Speaker 1: sewn together. It's clearly meant to be pieces of metal
- 25:13Speaker 1: on leather so as to be a sort of mail,
- 25:18Speaker 1: you know, but it really is giving Belly Dancer more
- 25:24Speaker 1: to me than like chain mail. And then she has
- 25:28Speaker 1: one of those bra tops, one of those impossible anime
- 25:34Speaker 1: tops that doesn't actually come together in the front. It
- 25:39Speaker 1: looks more like if you had a balo jacket and
- 25:44Speaker 1: slice the arms off it and then managed to pull
- 25:48Speaker 1: it like pull your boobs behind it is what it
- 25:51Speaker 1: kind of looks like. It's the only person that I
- 25:55Speaker 1: have seen actually pulling off wearing something like this. When
- 26:00Speaker 1: I say pulling off, I don't mean in terms of
- 26:03Speaker 1: like esthetically they looked good in it. I mean that
- 26:06Speaker 1: it felt like they physically figured out how to make
- 26:09Speaker 1: this so that you could wear it and not just
- 26:11Speaker 1: fall out of it instantly. Is Megan thee Stallion And
- 26:15Speaker 1: if you are not familiar, Megande Stallion is a huge
- 26:19Speaker 1: web and she has done a lot of anime cause plays,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and you should definitely look up some of the stuff
- 26:26Speaker 1: that she has done, because it is amazing. She is
- 26:30Speaker 1: so into it and she has the money to pay
- 26:33Speaker 1: people to design really good custom stuff for her, and
- 26:36Speaker 1: she has a figure that is beyond belief. And I'm
- 26:41Speaker 1: sure she has had work done. I'm sure she's had
- 26:44Speaker 1: some light bow and some you know, some various like
- 26:47Speaker 1: tweaks and whatnot. But she has got the closest thing
- 26:51Speaker 1: to like an anime body I have ever seen in
- 26:55Speaker 1: real life. So her in the outfits actually looks so legit,
- 27:01Speaker 1: and I could see her wearing this like and completely
- 27:07Speaker 1: owning it. You know, it's not the outfit that's really
- 27:11Speaker 1: the problem. It's the fact that it's always got to
- 27:15Speaker 1: be like, there's again one woman in the midst of
- 27:19Speaker 1: all of these dudes. It's there always has to be
- 27:21Speaker 1: only one woman, and she almost always has to be hot.
- 27:26Speaker 1: The only time that we don't have all hot women
- 27:30Speaker 1: are when it's lots and lots of people gathered together
- 27:34Speaker 1: and you've got like olds mixed in or fats mixed in.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But if we are in the setting where it's like
- 27:41Speaker 1: male dominated, then the one woman that is present has
- 27:45Speaker 1: to be incredibly insanely hot and get lusted after and
- 27:49Speaker 1: also demeaned by all of the men around her. And
- 27:52Speaker 1: it's boring it's very very boring, So Alana says, I
- 27:58Speaker 1: think to makes her outfit, am I saying that right,
- 28:02Speaker 1: toy makes her outfit even more than it is in
- 28:04Speaker 1: the manga. To be honest, they also inflate the boobs
- 28:07Speaker 1: of all women even more than what Oda draws. Oh boy,
- 28:10Speaker 1: great her boobs honestly, as much as they are, of
- 28:14Speaker 1: course very big. The first look at her, it's not
- 28:20Speaker 1: as bad as like namies have been at a lot
- 28:22Speaker 1: of times. Oh, I should also mention that she has
- 28:26Speaker 1: this like cape. It's like a blue cape and a
- 28:31Speaker 1: gold helmet with a red crest. And she also carries
- 28:36Speaker 1: a huge red I think or brown No, it's a
- 28:40Speaker 1: brown shield and a sword with like a blue hilt.
- 28:46Speaker 1: She's got a lot of colors going on here, and
- 28:51Speaker 1: it's a really weird thing. She says that Kiros is
- 28:56Speaker 1: the greatest gladiator in the whole history of the career
- 29:00Speaker 1: Rita Coliseum. He fought three thousand matches and claimed three
- 29:04Speaker 1: thousand victories. The only wound he ever suffered in combat
- 29:08Speaker 1: was a single slash. He was still fighting here until
- 29:13Speaker 1: just twenty years ago. Even so, he is unknown to
- 29:18Speaker 1: this country. No one remembers a thing, and Lufy says,
- 29:22Speaker 1: what do you mean? And she says, none of the
- 29:24Speaker 1: elders or even the gladiators, no one recalls having met him.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It's the most mysterious statue in dress Rosa. He might
- 29:33Speaker 1: not have existed, for all we know, someone could have
- 29:36Speaker 1: just made him up. On top of that, who knows
- 29:40Speaker 1: how long this statue has been here. All that we
- 29:43Speaker 1: really know of the man is what someone engraved on
- 29:46Speaker 1: this place, on this placard here, Even though we don't
- 29:49Speaker 1: know who he is, no one wants to remove the statue.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Another mystery that is so strange. I don't understand how
- 30:01Speaker 1: this guy could have fought like three thousand fights and
- 30:05Speaker 1: have a statue made and yet nobody remembers ever having
- 30:09Speaker 1: seen him before. Then how did you design the statue?
- 30:12Speaker 1: Who created it? And the statue having been here this long,
- 30:16Speaker 1: somebody erased everybody's memories? Is that what happened? Does somebody
- 30:20Speaker 1: have the memory memory? Fruit?
- 30:22Speaker 2: Like?
- 30:23Speaker 1: The thing that I kept thinking was that this guy
- 30:25Speaker 1: was the uh, the blind man Fujitura or maybe it's Fujitura,
- 30:33Speaker 1: it's probably Fujita, huh. I. That was like where my
- 30:38Speaker 1: mind went immediately, and when I sort of stepped back
- 30:43Speaker 1: and thought about why. I was like, you know, I
- 30:47Speaker 1: guess it's just because that guy has the slash over
- 30:50Speaker 1: his eyes and it's like, clearly Brauh is a huge badass,
- 30:56Speaker 1: but something happened to sort of like I don't know though,
- 31:01Speaker 1: because he's part of the Marines, and how could he
- 31:05Speaker 1: have done both fighting in the arena that consistently and
- 31:10Speaker 1: have like joined the Marines and become it seems to
- 31:13Speaker 1: be a sort of like more senior level officer there.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I don't know, you guys, I really just uh this story.
- 31:23Speaker 1: There's so many questions about it, and the only thing
- 31:26Speaker 1: that makes any sense to me is that kind of
- 31:28Speaker 1: neuralizer thing that they have in Men in Black, where
- 31:30Speaker 1: they just zap your brain and you just forget everything. Otherwise,
- 31:34Speaker 1: I don't know how somebody could be the successful in
- 31:37Speaker 1: this famous and nobody actually remember who they.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Are, so.
- 31:44Speaker 1: What do I know.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It's just.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It's the way that she talks about him with such
- 31:52Speaker 1: like reverence and respect. He's very much a legend. It
- 31:58Speaker 1: feels like this isn't a real person, but twenty years ago,
- 32:02Speaker 1: like that is not that far gone, you know what
- 32:07Speaker 1: I'm saying. It just feels like that's so recent that
- 32:13Speaker 1: having forgotten everything seems a little bit more uh unreasonable
- 32:19Speaker 1: to me. It just feels a little blonkers. But anyway, So, yeah,
- 32:24Speaker 1: that's what's going on here, and the fact that Lufy
- 32:26Speaker 1: is like in the same outfit, it's gonna have to
- 32:31Speaker 1: be something like all I can think is that Lufy's
- 32:36Speaker 1: gonna go out there and be incredibly strong, knock everybody
- 32:41Speaker 1: on their ass, and then when people like begin to
- 32:46Speaker 1: put together that he's wearing the same out that they're
- 32:48Speaker 1: going to think that he's like a reincarnation of this
- 32:52Speaker 1: guy or something. I don't even I don't know, I
- 32:56Speaker 1: really don't, but uh, and this woman, she is not
- 33:02Speaker 1: in the same like block as Loofy. So her hope
- 33:05Speaker 1: later on is that when they go off and do
- 33:07Speaker 1: their battle royale fights, that the two of them will
- 33:11Speaker 1: each manage to survive their blocks and then be able
- 33:15Speaker 1: to fight each other, I guess. So we jump out
- 33:20Speaker 1: into the first battle royale and uh, we find out
- 33:26Speaker 1: that this guy who is laying waste to everybody is Burgess.
- 33:31Speaker 1: He is going by the name mister Store. I have
- 33:37Speaker 1: a lot of questions about mister Store. What is what
- 33:43Speaker 1: kind of name is mister Store, and he's also keeps
- 33:48Speaker 1: yelling happy Store, which I can't help but lol about
- 33:54Speaker 1: because there's something so it feels like you could just
- 34:00Speaker 1: go down the shop and buy a little bit happy
- 34:02Speaker 1: real quick, which is my name for Cheetos, which makes
- 34:07Speaker 1: sense to me. But uh, this, this is very very
- 34:11Speaker 1: funny to me. This guy is completely killing all the opposition.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Once he reveals who he is. There's this long shop
- 34:21Speaker 1: shocked silence, but Loofy recognizes him instantly and people get
- 34:27Speaker 1: over it pretty quick and just decide to go ahead
- 34:29Speaker 1: and cheer for him. He's wearing also to conceal his identity,
- 34:33Speaker 1: just a paper bag. That is, it has two eyeholes
- 34:38Speaker 1: cut out of it and has the words happy Store
- 34:42Speaker 1: painted on it. But they painted those words on when
- 34:47Speaker 1: the bag was right side up, so when he put
- 34:49Speaker 1: the bag on his head, just all of it is
- 34:52Speaker 1: upside down. Now it is the jankiest shit you ever saw.
- 34:56Speaker 1: What a weird move. Okay, so let's see we have
- 35:02Speaker 1: a bunch of things going on in the wings as well.
- 35:06Speaker 1: So Frankie is having his little encounter with this uh
- 35:11Speaker 1: this soldier toy who keeps telling him like, hey, dude,
- 35:15Speaker 1: we really should get out of here, and Frankie is like,
- 35:22Speaker 1: who are you? Like, what is your deal? Who are
- 35:26Speaker 1: you really? We jump away from him to this guy
- 35:29Speaker 1: who is making a list of all of the competitors. Uh,
- 35:33Speaker 1: and he writes down Gambia the Missionary, I think is
- 35:38Speaker 1: the way they're saying Jrudin sometimes something Cavendish and Gambia
- 35:44Speaker 1: the Missionary. It's really weird to me that there is
- 35:47Speaker 1: somebody with the name the missionary. I don't know if
- 35:50Speaker 1: this is like a translation thing the one like, because honestly,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I kept I kept sort of translating it in my
- 36:01Speaker 1: head into the mercenary, which is not what he said.
- 36:06Speaker 1: That's not correct, but it is nevertheless the way that
- 36:10Speaker 1: I kept like moving it over in my head so
- 36:13Speaker 1: that it would make more sense. Because the missionary. What
- 36:19Speaker 1: that's a weird title for a bad guy in the like.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I know why I would think that was a bad guy,
- 36:26Speaker 1: because missionaries and colonization go very much hand in hand.
- 36:30Speaker 1: But I don't feel like the show is trying to
- 36:32Speaker 1: make any particular statement of that nature. So it was
- 36:36Speaker 1: just that one caught me by surprise. So let's end.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yeah here it is, Uh, Gambia the Missionary. When the
- 36:46Speaker 1: guy reads Gambia the Missionary, He's like, this is uh,
- 36:51Speaker 1: really unexpected. There's a vibe to him of being startled
- 36:56Speaker 1: that this person is here. And a couple walks by
- 37:01Speaker 1: and he hides his face like he doesn't want to
- 37:04Speaker 1: be seen. Also, you guys, I'm like the I don't
- 37:11Speaker 1: know if this is important at all. But the woman
- 37:13Speaker 1: is like, yeah, we really need to get out of here,
- 37:15Speaker 1: and the guy going with her says okay, But I
- 37:18Speaker 1: don't really see what the rush is. And I was
- 37:22Speaker 1: wondering if this was going to be something that paid
- 37:24Speaker 1: off later Eventually we have a whole thing because I
- 37:29Speaker 1: think it's Burgess that throws the thing in the air.
- 37:33Speaker 1: You guys, this is so great because Burgess throwing this
- 37:37Speaker 1: uh what do you call it? It's just a ball
- 37:41Speaker 1: in the air almost causes a stampede because everybody seems
- 37:47Speaker 1: to think that this is a bomb, and it says
- 37:52Speaker 1: a lot about like the author's view on humanity that
- 37:55Speaker 1: it's almost results in a bunch of people getting smashed
- 37:59Speaker 1: to death into the ground because of a panicked stampede
- 38:03Speaker 1: that is happening. But the way that he throws it. Oh,
- 38:12Speaker 1: Florie says that was Bartolomeo. Okay, because I was scrubbing
- 38:15Speaker 1: through the episode trying to find the spot. Okay, that
- 38:17Speaker 1: happens later, thank you. But I just wanted to mention
- 38:20Speaker 1: the way that he throws it. He does the thing
- 38:23Speaker 1: that Alice in Twilight does when she is throwing a baseball,
- 38:28Speaker 1: and it made me laugh out loud so bad. I
- 38:32Speaker 1: just never thought I was going to see that on
- 38:35Speaker 1: like anything else, because it's such an affected way to
- 38:39Speaker 1: do it. It's not even like intimidating. It's delicate. It's
- 38:44Speaker 1: like balletic, you know. So yeah, that whole thing was
- 38:49Speaker 1: very funny. But anyway, so let's see the let's see
- 38:58Speaker 1: the well the marine. There are several competitors, and the
- 39:02Speaker 1: blind man right is revealed to be Admiral Fujitura. I
- 39:08Speaker 1: think is what it says on the back of his
- 39:11Speaker 1: cape that he puts on. And then the episode ends
- 39:15Speaker 1: with Bellamy popping up and there is this guy I think,
- 39:22Speaker 1: see what does the subtitle say? Maynard is the guy
- 39:26Speaker 1: that is in the red ball cap, which I cannot
- 39:30Speaker 1: not see as a maga cap at this point in
- 39:32Speaker 1: my life. He's got a ponytail, and glasses, and the
- 39:37Speaker 1: fucking missionary dude is here and he handles this guy.
- 39:42Speaker 1: There's a moment where the missionary seems to like get
- 39:45Speaker 1: the better of him and starts to run away, but
- 39:48Speaker 1: this dude pursues him and is able to take him
- 39:53Speaker 1: out and continue the phone call that he has with
- 39:57Speaker 1: the marine. That's like spying, And I don't know why
- 40:02Speaker 1: he needs a spy because all of the people that
- 40:06Speaker 1: are going to be participating in this are very much
- 40:09Speaker 1: out there with their full names being announced to the
- 40:15Speaker 1: whole crowd, So it just seems like this shouldn't even
- 40:19Speaker 1: be necessary. I was just a little bit confused about
- 40:23Speaker 1: what's going on here, and I think that's intentional, and
- 40:25Speaker 1: I don't believe that I'm supposed to know, but I
- 40:28Speaker 1: did want to mention that I was, like, hold on
- 40:30Speaker 1: a second, so I'm trying to find the part where
- 40:42Speaker 1: Bellamy shows up. I knew who Bellamy was right away
- 40:46Speaker 1: because of his weird tongue thing, and this made me
- 40:51Speaker 1: think of what Hair Caribou and I guys, I don't
- 40:57Speaker 1: remember what happened to him. What happened to what hair Caribou?
- 41:01Speaker 2: Do we know?
- 41:03Speaker 1: I feel like there was a part where he just
- 41:05Speaker 1: sort of like disappeared in the midst of everything, because
- 41:10Speaker 1: like he came with them to the island, right to
- 41:19Speaker 1: oh my god, the Ice and Fire Island. I can't
- 41:22Speaker 1: remember the name of it. I thought he was with
- 41:24Speaker 1: them for that. Didn't they like take custody of him?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Did they leave him at at Fishman Island? What happened
- 41:33Speaker 1: to that guy? Florian says, Big Mom's goons kicked his
- 41:39Speaker 1: ass on fishman Man Island. That's the last we saw, Okay,
- 41:44Speaker 1: so we really don't get like closure on him. He
- 41:47Speaker 1: just gets his ass beat, but he is still out
- 41:48Speaker 1: there in the world, like walking free. I don't care
- 41:52Speaker 1: for that. That's no. This was a very particularly bad man,
- 41:57Speaker 1: which means that we are going to see him again,
- 42:00Speaker 1: and I don't want to. I don't like him. I
- 42:03Speaker 1: don't want to see him again. I also didn't like Bellamy, though,
- 42:07Speaker 1: And I found it interesting the way that this goes,
- 42:09Speaker 1: because Bellamy, after dealing with some of the people that
- 42:11Speaker 1: we have so far, feels like so tame, and it
- 42:15Speaker 1: wasn't even like he was that intimidating before. It just
- 42:18Speaker 1: always kind of felt like Bellamy was just kind of
- 42:23Speaker 1: grosser because he felt so ordinary and there was just
- 42:26Speaker 1: something about him that was very BROI And so he
- 42:30Speaker 1: got under my skin pretty quickly, and I just found
- 42:35Speaker 1: he was such a basic bitch in a lot of ways.
- 42:39Speaker 1: But when he turned up here, I was almost like, oh,
- 42:42Speaker 1: it's this guy, Like it wasn't. I won't say it
- 42:44Speaker 1: was a pleasant surprise, but when I saw his tongue,
- 42:48Speaker 1: immediately thought of him. Then I kind of was like, uh, oh,
- 42:51Speaker 1: what if it's whitt hair Caribou, And I was my
- 42:54Speaker 1: first instinct was correct, but I definitely had a moment
- 42:57Speaker 1: of like, oh no, oh, So I don't like hearing
- 43:01Speaker 1: that he's still fucking at large. So Bellamy tells Lufy
- 43:09Speaker 1: like we have the flashback to him making fun of
- 43:13Speaker 1: Lufy for thinking that there is a Skypea at all,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and when he talks to Lufy, there's like a vibe
- 43:25Speaker 1: to him of like I am going to get back
- 43:30Speaker 1: at you. But then as he keeps talking, he explains
- 43:34Speaker 1: that he actually saw Skypea, and realizing that Lufy was
- 43:39Speaker 1: right has changed the way he sees a lot of
- 43:42Speaker 1: things and has made him kind of turn a corner
- 43:45Speaker 1: in a way that's unclear what that means. He's sort
- 43:48Speaker 1: of just like, you know, don't worry about like what
- 43:53Speaker 1: it is that it's changed, but I'm not gonna hassle
- 43:56Speaker 1: you anymore. And Lufy understandably is very much like did
- 44:05Speaker 1: you hurt people at skypea?
- 44:07Speaker 2: Though?
- 44:08Speaker 1: Like what did you do? And he just smirks at
- 44:12Speaker 1: him and says, maybe, don't worry about it. I don't
- 44:20Speaker 1: like that at all. I don't like thinking about what
- 44:23Speaker 1: happens to people after the straw Hats have been there
- 44:27Speaker 1: and then leave again, because I just want everything to
- 44:30Speaker 1: remain good and happy like it was when they left,
- 44:35Speaker 1: and for everybody to be in a very good place
- 44:38Speaker 1: and just for it all to be fine and dandy,
- 44:42Speaker 1: and like just thinking about how many folks could follow
- 44:46Speaker 1: in their wake and ruin it all is such a bummer.
- 44:51Speaker 1: So I just did not care for that. And it's
- 44:55Speaker 1: like I went so quickly from like Bellamy, Huh, this
- 44:58Speaker 1: guy isn't as terrible as I remember, or two Bellamy,
- 45:01Speaker 1: piece of shit? What were you doing? So let's see,
- 45:09Speaker 1: I'm trying to find Uh, Yeah, it's Bartolomeo, who's watching
- 45:14Speaker 1: Maynard doing whatever it is he's doing, where he's like
- 45:17Speaker 1: going around and taking out various competitors on the sidelines.
- 45:21Speaker 2: And.
- 45:24Speaker 1: The body is like, when this guy takes people out,
- 45:26Speaker 1: he just sort of leaves them and they're out of
- 45:31Speaker 1: the immediate view of the officials who are looking for them,
- 45:36Speaker 1: but uh, they're not so far away that it would
- 45:42Speaker 1: be impossible to find them. And I'm wondering when somebody
- 45:47Speaker 1: is going to begin to like put together that these
- 45:51Speaker 1: people are all getting taken out one by one and
- 45:56Speaker 1: whether this is this like how how yah? I'm assuming
- 46:02Speaker 1: it's like the top contenders, the people who are the
- 46:06Speaker 1: most dangerous that could actually be a threat, are the
- 46:11Speaker 1: ones that they are ambushing. Basically, I don't know though.
- 46:17Speaker 1: At the same time, like Maynard isn't the one that
- 46:22Speaker 1: goes after this missionary guy. He's just like talking on
- 46:30Speaker 1: his little transponder snail, and missionary guy comes up to
- 46:36Speaker 1: him and is like, I heard you talking about me,
- 46:38Speaker 1: what's up? And he is the one that really like
- 46:41Speaker 1: kind of pushes things and it goes to a place
- 46:45Speaker 1: that he evidently was not prepared for it to go to,
- 46:48Speaker 1: which I say, life comes at you fast. Maybe don't
- 46:51Speaker 1: poke your fucking nose in if you're not prepared. Bruh.
- 46:56Speaker 1: So as much as I kind of my instinct is
- 46:58Speaker 1: to be like, oh, his goal is to go after
- 47:02Speaker 1: these dudes, another part of me kind of feels like,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I don't know how this would have gone down if
- 47:09Speaker 1: you hadn't decided to start shit yourself, you know what
- 47:11Speaker 1: I'm saying. I don't know, so oh right, And we
- 47:16Speaker 1: briefly have this like little check in with Robin and
- 47:23Speaker 1: it's Robin Oosop and oh my god, Trafalgar. I keep
- 47:31Speaker 1: wanting to say traffy because that's what they are all
- 47:34Speaker 1: calling him, but it like for me that man is
- 47:38Speaker 1: not a traffy. I am not calling him that, first
- 47:40Speaker 1: of all, and second of all, if I keep saying traffy,
- 47:43Speaker 1: I will definitely forget why he's called that and lose
- 47:47Speaker 1: track of like what his actual name is. And I
- 47:50Speaker 1: just want to get his damn name right. So, yes, Trafalgar,
- 47:55Speaker 1: And we like brief check ins with everybody. At the
- 47:59Speaker 1: end of this, there's the one guy who gets surrounded
- 48:01Speaker 1: because he is a Samurai and for some reason, the
- 48:03Speaker 1: people who have like taken his friend who are here
- 48:07Speaker 1: are they all have like a particular like grudge against Samurai,
- 48:14Speaker 1: which we don't find out what that is about here.
- 48:18Speaker 1: We just know that he is clearly like prepared for this,
- 48:23Speaker 1: and part of that's part of why he hit his
- 48:25Speaker 1: topknot and his son back on the ship with Nammy
- 48:30Speaker 1: and Brooke and Chopper, they are well. Chopper at least
- 48:37Speaker 1: is noticing the fact that this kid, whenever he has
- 48:40Speaker 1: like downtime, gets very upset and depressed about something, and
- 48:46Speaker 1: so Chopper is putting a lot of energy into trying
- 48:51Speaker 1: to keep him happy and distracted. And there's a very
- 48:56Speaker 1: awkward scene where he's laying his head in Nami's life
- 49:00Speaker 1: and Brooke comes over and tries to lay his head
- 49:02Speaker 1: in her lap and gets a bop on his head.
- 49:05Speaker 1: I this is something that I think is so like
- 49:11Speaker 1: So every culture has their particular thing. There are plenty
- 49:17Speaker 1: of things that sort of cross over, such as earlier
- 49:21Speaker 1: when the kid was motor boating Nami. Motor boating, I
- 49:25Speaker 1: am assuming is a thing in all cultures because boobies
- 49:29Speaker 1: just be asking for it. They just do be, so
- 49:31Speaker 1: I don't blame them. But the laying your head on
- 49:36Speaker 1: a woman's lap feels like a uniquely Asian thing. This
- 49:42Speaker 1: is not something that I seem like American men doing
- 49:46Speaker 1: in cartoons or like wanting to do. But I have
- 49:50Speaker 1: seen it multiple times in like anime. In there was
- 49:57Speaker 1: even like an advertisement I saw for a pillow that
- 50:01Speaker 1: is shaped like the knee, like bent knees, so that
- 50:07Speaker 1: you can lay your head on it and it feels
- 50:08Speaker 1: like you are laying your head in a woman's lap.
- 50:12Speaker 1: And at the time I thought it was for little kids,
- 50:17Speaker 1: that this was meant to be a sort of comforting
- 50:20Speaker 1: thing for children, And then I sort of pulled out
- 50:25Speaker 1: and realized, oh, this is this is for like grown
- 50:28Speaker 1: ass men. This is this particular thing. And there is another, uh,
- 50:36Speaker 1: a similar sort of like body pillow thing that's supposed
- 50:39Speaker 1: to be like the boyfriend pillow, where part of the
- 50:42Speaker 1: pillow you lay your face on and then there's like
- 50:44Speaker 1: an arm that goes under your head so that you
- 50:48Speaker 1: can feel like you're laying on your boyfriend's shoulder, like
- 50:52Speaker 1: your head on his shoulder. And honestly, these pillows, I
- 50:56Speaker 1: think these are all great ideas. I really like them
- 50:58Speaker 1: in principle, but I just found it really fast how
- 51:02Speaker 1: we're all operating with the same basic bodies all across
- 51:06Speaker 1: the world, but what one culture finds particularly comforting or
- 51:14Speaker 1: particularly attractive will be so different to another that it
- 51:17Speaker 1: feels like a totally brand new idea. And I just
- 51:21Speaker 1: think that's kind of wild. But anyway, so let's see
- 51:29Speaker 1: this guy, right, we find had about some of the
- 51:31Speaker 1: things going on with the green Bit. Is what they're
- 51:35Speaker 1: calling this weird bridge, He asks all of them, I
- 51:41Speaker 1: forgot Caesar's also with him, because that's the whole point
- 51:43Speaker 1: is they're doing this handoff. But he asks if they're
- 51:46Speaker 1: they're researchers or explorers, and he says, well, is it
- 51:51Speaker 1: worth risking your life over because it had better be.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Robin says, what is that bridge made of? It looks
- 51:58Speaker 1: unusual and he says it's solid iron, but that doesn't
- 52:01Speaker 1: make it safe. And there's a bunch of like busted
- 52:05Speaker 1: up barriers to keep people from walking over it and
- 52:07Speaker 1: keep out signs.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Blah blah blah.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And he says there's a school of fighting fish nearby.
- 52:15Speaker 1: The seas around green Bit are full of the things.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Before those monsters moved in, people used to go to
- 52:21Speaker 1: and from green Bit all the time, but that was
- 52:24Speaker 1: about two hundred years ago. And Caesar Clown wants to
- 52:28Speaker 1: know what the fish are like, and he says, nasty horns,
- 52:31Speaker 1: nasty disposition. They take a ship and capsize you, and
- 52:35Speaker 1: they'll attack the bridge too. That's what all those iron
- 52:38Speaker 1: bars are for, although I hear that barely slows them down.
- 52:42Speaker 1: And Oosup is like, oh, come on, they're fish. What
- 52:45Speaker 1: do they leap out of the water and tear through iron?
- 52:49Speaker 1: And this guy says maybe, but I'm not brave enough
- 52:52Speaker 1: to see myself. I know plenty of people who've tried
- 52:56Speaker 1: to go, but I don't know anyone who's come back.
- 53:01Speaker 1: So understandably, oos Up is like, why would you pick
- 53:05Speaker 1: this place for us to do the handoff?
- 53:07Speaker 2: Dude?
- 53:08Speaker 1: And Caesar actually agrees with him. I kind of expected
- 53:11Speaker 1: Caesar to fully lean into like these weird fish and
- 53:13Speaker 1: be excited about it, and instead he's just like, yeah, dude,
- 53:16Speaker 1: what the fuck? And I genuinely that caught me off guard.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Trafalgar is just like, whatever, guys, it's set up now,
- 53:22Speaker 1: it is too late to change it. This is what
- 53:24Speaker 1: we're doing. But later on we see these fighting fish
- 53:28Speaker 1: and they are quite vicious, and I am very very
- 53:31Speaker 1: excited about them. They're really like Doctor Evil and what
- 53:36Speaker 1: he wanted with his sharks with Lazer beams attached to
- 53:39Speaker 1: their heads, but then he wound up just getting some
- 53:42Speaker 1: like sea bass that were ill tempered. That's what it
- 53:46Speaker 1: feels like for me a little bit. As they're all
- 53:50Speaker 1: sitting there and like discussing this, Robin like suddenly has
- 53:55Speaker 1: this hold on and she looks over and puts a
- 53:58Speaker 1: finger over her lips, and even Caesar has a strong
- 54:02Speaker 1: reaction to seeing them. And it's CP zero and evidently
- 54:09Speaker 1: these are like the most badass intelligence agents. They are
- 54:14Speaker 1: wearing all white. I don't remember if we've seen these
- 54:19Speaker 1: people before or if they just look familiar, because we've
- 54:21Speaker 1: seen sort of like versions. But the shortest one has
- 54:27Speaker 1: a black and blue polka dot scarf draped over his shoulders,
- 54:32Speaker 1: a huge white pimp hat, a white sort of robot
- 54:37Speaker 1: looking mimish mask with like a monocle, and a double
- 54:43Speaker 1: breasted white suit. And then we've got two other dudes
- 54:47Speaker 1: who both look like they are people on stilts with
- 54:52Speaker 1: like giant robes on to cover up the stilts underneath.
- 54:57Speaker 1: One of them is wearing a white and red striped
- 55:01Speaker 1: hat very reminiscent to me of an upside down popcorn bucket,
- 55:05Speaker 1: and what looks to be a turkey tail made out
- 55:11Speaker 1: of cut up construction paper by a little child upside
- 55:16Speaker 1: down like a beard around its face in it's like
- 55:19Speaker 1: a beard that's sort of giving, like Abraham Lincoln or
- 55:23Speaker 1: just like Amish because there's no sideburns, there's no other
- 55:26Speaker 1: facial hair, there's no nothing. And then other dude who
- 55:30Speaker 1: is huge, has a similar looking like thing but the
- 55:35Speaker 1: other way up over his head, sticking out in every direction,
- 55:39Speaker 1: a very red face with a sort of like shape
- 55:44Speaker 1: to his mouth that is giving ape and a huge
- 55:50Speaker 1: white pearl beaded necklace with a blue pearl in the center,
- 55:55Speaker 1: and what looks to be almost like a rough, like
- 55:57Speaker 1: an Elizabethan rough. Soh evidently they are way more dangerous
- 56:03Speaker 1: than the CP nine guys. So now we've got this
- 56:06Speaker 1: to worry about on top of everything. And oos Up
- 56:11Speaker 1: is like, they can't be here for us though, right,
- 56:14Speaker 1: they're definitely here on vacation or something, and Robin is like,
- 56:18Speaker 1: whether they're here for work or not, it's bad news
- 56:21Speaker 1: for us. This is not a good scene. Then we
- 56:25Speaker 1: check in with Zorro, who is still chasing after this thing.
- 56:29Speaker 1: This is such a weird scene because it doesn't go
- 56:34Speaker 1: anywhere really, we just have like him chasing it, him
- 56:41Speaker 1: managing to like tackle and seemingly get his sword back,
- 56:46Speaker 1: and then he falls off the roof. The thing follows
- 56:49Speaker 1: him with like the bag that it stole of stuff,
- 56:52Speaker 1: and it lands on him, and then you can hear
- 56:55Speaker 1: it talking and saying, I really messed up. It's the
- 56:59Speaker 1: human are gonna see me? Run you dummy, come on hurry.
- 57:04Speaker 1: And as it's saying this, we see Zoro like looking
- 57:09Speaker 1: down at it, and he suddenly gets this like expression
- 57:12Speaker 1: of horror on his face and he gasps, but the
- 57:15Speaker 1: camera cuts away, so we don't see what he saw there.
- 57:22Speaker 1: And that's same jumping ahead because I already talked about
- 57:25Speaker 1: the samurai. Uh oh yeah, Bartolameo, So this dude, I
- 57:30Speaker 1: am into Barlomeo. Let me just say this. So Bro
- 57:35Speaker 1: has green hair that is really reminding me of the
- 57:41Speaker 1: chick from Scott Pilgrim because he's got those sort of
- 57:44Speaker 1: like locks in front of his ears and an eye
- 57:51Speaker 1: tattoo that like goes over his face, pierced septum and
- 57:57Speaker 1: pointed teeth. He keeps being called the cannibal later, but
- 58:03Speaker 1: I can't tell if they're just calling him that because
- 58:05Speaker 1: that's a scary title, or if he actually has been
- 58:08Speaker 1: known to eat people. They mentioned him skewering and roasting pirates,
- 58:13Speaker 1: but like plenty of people would skewer and roast things
- 58:16Speaker 1: just to make a fucking spectacle out of a thing,
- 58:18Speaker 1: and they don't actually intend to eat the people. So
- 58:22Speaker 1: that's unclear to me as of yet. But I find
- 58:26Speaker 1: his look to be very like arresting. He's got also, uh,
- 58:31Speaker 1: he's shirtless with tattoos all over his chest and abs,
- 58:35Speaker 1: and then a red like overcoat with fur at the
- 58:41Speaker 1: collar and the wrists that looks a lot like a
- 58:44Speaker 1: coat I used to have. And he has like red
- 58:49Speaker 1: and yellow diamond pattered pants that are very much giving.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Jester and he is confronting this guy in the little
- 59:01Speaker 1: alleyway and is like, I've seen what you're up to,
- 59:04Speaker 1: and this dude is like, well, I'm going to take
- 59:06Speaker 1: you down, and I'm like, well, apparently he failed because
- 59:08Speaker 1: he goes out there. So I don't know if it's
- 59:10Speaker 1: like they made a deal in the end. Finally it
- 59:14Speaker 1: must be. Also, we have these dudes who are following
- 59:20Speaker 1: Soanjy and Violet and she he says her name and
- 59:26Speaker 1: then is just like I just wanted to say your name,
- 59:29Speaker 1: she says, Sonjy, And when he says what she says,
- 59:32Speaker 1: I just wanted to say your name. All of a sudden,
- 59:35Speaker 1: here's a sniper. They're being followed. A sniper pops up
- 59:38Speaker 1: out of nowhere, Soanji has his back to it, and
- 59:42Speaker 1: this person begins to pull the trigger, and Sanji senses
- 59:45Speaker 1: it and turns around, leaps to the top of this tower,
- 59:49Speaker 1: which is about sixty feet in the air, kicks the
- 59:53Speaker 1: sniper off the top of the tower, and then jumps
- 59:57Speaker 1: back down to her, doing that like air walk thing
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: he does. And as he's doing this, imagines a love
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: letter that he has written to Nami and Robin, just saying,
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I hope everything is great for you guys. It's great
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: for me. Things are going pretty well for Sanjy. He
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: is you know, he's managing his shit. So let's see, okay, right,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: when we go back to this ship. First, I already
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: talked about the little Boy and his deal, and Brooke
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: sings a song he does not really want to, but
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: he gets bullied into it by Chopper. It's fantastic, as
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: it always is. Brooke is the best, and then they
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: hear this weird crashing sound coming from in the cabin
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: of the like it seems like it's in the kitchen,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: and we hear somebody just being like, yeah, take that.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: You like that, do you? But it sounds like a
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: feminine voice. It may just be like a woman voice actor.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: And I don't know who this is meant to be,
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: but they do not make an appearance here. It's just
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: them and they're saying like this won't do at all.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I do not know what to expect or how this
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: person got on board or any of this. Like at first,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: I was thinking, is this going to be a fairy?
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: You know? I don't know. I don't know how the
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: fairies be in this world? Do they go after people
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: that are not on their turf? When you're technically on
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: a ship, you're not on their land, right, Are they
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: still fair game? But they like come up to it
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: and they pull open the door and there's this real bizarre,
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: trippy sort of animation that has everything like moving and
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: melting and it's just extremely psychedelic. And I have no
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: idea how to interpret what this is that's happening, genuinely
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: no clue. So okay, yeah, here's Bartolomeo. If you're that week,
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: you weren't gonna win anyway, don't feel bad. He's fighting
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: with this guy and the in the wings here, and
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Bartolomeo just does some like real simple thing and handles
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: this guy. This is when we have the dude finding
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: everybody from Block B that has to go in and
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he's not fighting everybody because some people have been handled.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Bartolameo acts like he has no idea what could have
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: happened to this other guy. And then when we go
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: into the next episode is when we have him like
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: throwing the bomb and this you know, incredible performance that
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: he puts on and I and I think he's fully
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: right when he just says that everybody who reacted the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: way that they did is fucking pathetic. Correct, that's fair.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: So this is when that, like the fight with Bellamy
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: as well, like begins to kick off. We have Cavendish
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: on the sidelines talking to Lufy about the fight and
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: what's happening here. And there's also like the introduction of
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: this King character that is supposed to be the one
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: that's not in the fight, but like he's waiting. He's
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: in the fight, but like he's off on the sidelines
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: saving up his punch because he gets one really powerful
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: punch that will completely lay out somebody, but he only
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: gets the one, so he has to be really careful
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: about his timing and thus has like a bodyguard basically
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: for the moment up until that punch. And this dude
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: is so goofy looking. He looks like an egg on
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: a couple of little stick legs. I feel like, if
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: you only have the one punch and otherwise need somebody
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: like guarding you, that's not that great. I just don't
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: feel like that's that useful a scale, I don't know. Also,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Bellamy is getting a lot of women on the sidelines
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: just being like oh Della mey, and Cavendish is very
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: very snarky about it. He is extremely salty and want
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: some of this attention for himself. But this is when
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: we get the whole thing with like the fighting fish
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: that come out and like grab some people and fucking
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: eat them and drag them down into the depths. It's
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: pretty fun. Honestly, I did really like this, and Bellamy
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: fighting with his like spring arms and legs, which I
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: had totally forgotten what his deal was, and all of
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: his fighting with like the very series like ugh ugh,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: but then in the midst of it.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Is buy ya ya y ing, bu ying bo ye yying.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: It's extremely funny to me, it really is. And this
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: is the point where Loofy and Cavendish get interrupted by
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: this dude who recognizes him, and he doesn't correct him
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: or anything like that, and Cavin just realizes that this
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: dude is Loofy after all, and maybe I'm gonna have
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: to do something about this. The reason the guy recognizes
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Loofy too is because he got beat up by Lufy's
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: grandpa and so now he has a grudge against Lufy's
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: grandpa's whole family, which would include Loofy, and this guy
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: is I guess, maybe gonna take it out on him.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I kind of hope not. He seems too big to
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: beat up on Loofy, but you know, too big and
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: too old. But what do I know. He's also like
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: big enough that he has smushed Loofy and Cavendish up
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: against the wall at one point, which I did think
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: was pretty funny because he I don't think he's actually blind,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: but he's walking around with his eyes almost completely closed,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: so yeah, don't know what his deal is, but he
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: has a twelve tattooed above his eyebrow, and that makes
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: me think that he had been a slave or something,
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: but I don't know. And yeah, so that is the
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: end of the episode, and I am really interested to
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: see where we go from here because we have thrown
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: a lot of things at the wall, so time to
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: see what sticks. I guess I'm over time. I'm terribly overtime,
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: so I really have to go. But these were there
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: was a lot packed into these episodes, and I hope
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: I did them justice. All right, everybody, thank you again
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: so much for listening. Thank you Florian for commissioning this one,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: and for and to Alana for coming. Hope you guys
